There is a headcanon I got that wouldn't leave my brain after looking at your art, originating from that one conversation between Beckett and Jack where there were some implications about canon being everyone’s previous lives. Whether this is actually a part of your au or not, it got me thinking eheheh

Theoretically, (perhaps in an au of an au, if this headcanon contradicts your lore,) what if your au and canon were the same 'verse, just several hundred years later? And what if not everybody were on their second life?

We obviously have a sprinkling of supernatural stuff, so what if the secretly-a-goddess Calypso and immortally-cursed Davy Jones were the OGs that they were in the films? Like, Davy Jones maybe came back somehow (as per movie 5's end-credit scene lol) and took back the role of the Dutchman's Captian after Will went back to Shipwreck Cove. All is good.

He learned his lesson now and actually does his job of ferrying souls. As times changed, so did his ship, in some magical way. She's no longer a sailing ship, and he'll always miss that, but he doesn't mind all that much. His crew usually only stay for that 100 yr contract, so he's seen plenty of sailors come and go. Eventually, he even hires living mortals. Less people die at sea, so by the 20th century, Jones takes a mortal job as a fisherman (or whatever his job is in your au) as well.

Whether or not he knows about the whole reincarnation thing doesn't really matter; the day he employs a familiar man by the name of Bill Turner, he chalks it up to coincidence. Even if Bill has a son named William, well- it's been 200 years, perhaps it's just a really really big coincidence. Either way, it doesn't matter to him.

It's not until he's docked in a small, out-of-the-way harbour, and three troublemaking kids sneak onto the Dutchman that he finally realises. Bill's boy, on his own, is just a matter of coincidence. Those three, together? It's unmistakable. And as bothersome those three pirates were, so long ago, I'd like to think that he looks back on that age, on those people, with some kind of fondness.

(Until he discovers they can be the most INFURIATING little gremlins he's ever met in all his centuries. But he'll find that out later.)

I'm sorry it took so long to respond, I wanted to write a proper reply expressing just how much I love this but couldn't get around to it. Hope you don't mind me posting this publicly; I need everyone else to see this as well.

Noticed something about zutarians: for people who claim to be "THE femist ship" they spend too much time praising Zuko for doing chores, being empathetic, supporting women and other stuff he didn't really do in canon all that much.

Like, feminists would consider these a basic level that any normal person, man or woman, should do for their own's sake without any praise. Oohing and aahing "look, he spends time with his own child!", "oh, you washed the dishes, my hero!", "where would I have been if you didn't do the laundry, my knight in shining armor, you really are a savior!" is... very sexist, actually! And zutarians do just that. It’s not enough for them to write him doing chores, they have to emphasize this, compare him to Aang/Sokka/anyone else who of course doesn’t do chores (because no one except Katara and Zuko ever does anything chorelike in these fics it seems), or just outright praise him for that.

Of course, zutara never was a feminist ship, so my observation doesn't add anything new. I understand that zutara kinda fits "female gaze" or whatever, though, it's a women's dream about a perfect partner, which is totally fine by itself – it just has nothing to do with Zuko (and, dare I say, Katara – I doubt she would be so ecstatic about a guy doing "women's chores", she is used to dividing the work around camp and takes it for granted). And that's why I cannot read even relatively harmless zutara fluff – it very often is very focused on this exact subject. I like Zuko for who he is and the truth is 1) he's flawed even after his redemption and 2) a huge part of how he sees himself is his prince title. Nothing of it matches zutara fantasy of a male housewife, so they have a whole other character named Zuko to fit into their imagination land, and I just have no interest in that.

I'm still impressed by that one fic (not in English) where Fantara was 100% sure that Fanfic-Firelord-Zuko will never ever "force any hapless woman" to take care of his newborn daughter (as opposed to her awful, awful husband, Fanfic-Aang who can't even feed his son, who's still eating only breast milk, for several days while Fantara decided to be away). Sure, girl, he's a fucking ruler, he has a whole country to think about, tons of very important shit to do every single day, a full palace of servants, of course he will always personally change diapers, no doubt. I bet he'll even do all the breastfeeding by himself, since his wife died at childbirth and forcing other women is out of the question.

I'm bitter now, and maybe taking it too far but what if – just "what if" – there are very few people who actually ship Katara and Zuko? Because it seems that most content creators in zutara fandom actually ship their two OCs who are very loosely based on these two characters (but don't I dare tell it to their faces, haha, they are under impression that their image of Zuko and Katara is somehow the only correct one).

Just one little disagreement: Zutara doesn't fit the Female Gaze because there's no such thing in the first place. There's not a single trope, way to direct a scene, or romance formula that universally appeals to women, and the same thing can appeal to different women for radically different reasons.

"Male Gaze" and "Female Gaze" were supposed to be a way to point out sexism (and sometimes straight up abuse) in film-making, but it honest God became some bullshit gender-essentialism nonsense REALLY fast. We gotta let that "That is for boys, this is for girls" mentality die.

Aang does chores with Katara. That is completely irrelevant to me shipping Kataang. Aang is not sexist. That doesn't even reach my top 50 reasons to love him as a character. Aang does a lot of things that don't match the idea I was raised to have of a "manly man" and I could not give less of fuck about it. It doesn't bother me, but doesn't particularly appeal to me either.

But for lots of people that is HUGE and some of the main reasons why they love his character and his romance with Katara. And notice I said people, not women.

I like plenty of enemies-to-lovers ships - I don't relate to a single meta/analysis I've ever seen of "Why women like bad boys/enemies to lovers/redeemed villains so much." It all rang hollow to me. But to plenty of women it hits the nail right on the head.

Hell, 50 Shades of Grey is a "romance/erotica" full of accidental misogyny, abuse-apologism, and slut-shaming yet the fanbase is 90% women from all kinds of demographics, and the main thing they praise about these goddamn books/movies is that it did NOT make them feel like they should be ashamed of wanting to have kinky sex with a hot guy.

During exploring Natlan, you've met many people. But one ended up being closest to your heart~ His name was Ororon! You had a few pictures with him just to show them to your boyfriend, as he'd probably be curious about what you saw and who you met there.

"You're finally back!"

You heard a familiar voice greet you once you've entered Liyue. Your loyal boy was already waiting for you with open arms~

"It's fine! What kept you there for so long?"

((Thank you so much for my first request!! Absolutely love this idea. I'm gonna split it into two parts since it got a bit long. So Izzy reacting to it, then Stede)) Izzy falling in love with a Bonnet. - Slowly is right. Izzy meets you at a very turbulent time in his life and he thinks the last thing he needs is more dead weight.. Though of course you prove yourself to be anything but that. - He'll never forget the first time he laid eyes on you. Just when he thought he'd seen every absurd thing The Revenge could throw at him.. There you were. The final and most complex puzzle. - Everything about you confounds him and winds him up because really, in theory, he should hate you the way he hates Bonnet, but somehow.. He just can't. When Stede wears finery it looks garish and stupid, but on you it's perfect. When Stede wears something more pirate-like he looks like a boy playing dress up, but you look different and daring. - Claims he won't go easy on you just 'cause you're a lady (and my GOD does he love teasing and making fun of you for being 'a lady') but the whole crew notices right away that he does. You're not sure if it's subconscious or not, but Izzy never really raises his voice at you, never demands to know what you're doing and putting you to work in your downtime, never threatens to take away rations and always makes sure you have time to eat.. The list goes on. - Basically at first he's a lot of bark and no bite. He refuses to call you by your name only ever sarcastically or venomously refers to you as "my lady" or "your highness" or, if you've really got on his nerves, "madam" or "princess". - The score stays even though. He is VERY easy to get flustered, especially since it's been a while since he's had female company. The smallest of things (the way your hair or skirt blows in in the breeze, your voice, your touch or even the way you look at him sometimes) often catch him off guard. - But then things start to shift. Izzy can be pretty observant and it doesn't escape his notice that you're not as useless as he first thought. The total opposite, in fact.. Slowly a mutual respect starts to form. He even starts calling you by your name and seeking out your company instead of only talking to you when necessary. - Instead of mocking you or discouraging you from taking part in things like sword fighting and the running of a ship, you find he actually becomes your greatest guide. The two of you take to sword training in the quieter moments and star gazing navigating under the stars at night, just the two of you. - In return you actually get him to open up and talk about his feelings (though he would deny instantly that that's what it was). He tells you about life on the Queen Anne and listens when you tell him about your own life before The Revenge. You slowly dismantle the idea that you and Stede had a picture-perfect childhood and the respect grows to admiration as he realizes how strong you actually are. - Stede and the crew have no idea what you did but they notice a change in Izzy after that. He's still, as Stede would say, a complete arsehole, but his edges seems slightly softer somehow. At the very least he doesn't seem as stressed out all the time. - It's hard, but eventually you can get him to start accepting some of your fancy gifts. He wouldn't be caught dead with any of them, but he has a ring on a chain around his neck, beneath his shirt close to his heart. - Secretly wishes to be married so you don't have to have the name "Bonnet" anymore. He's not convinced you are a Bonnet anyway. There's no way you could be related to that foppish twat.

I find it funny how James Potter obsessing over Lily will be considered more romantic than Ginny obsessing over Harry to those people. Because a guy obsessing over a girl is sexy and a girl obsessing over a guy is somehow creepy.

Drarry and Harmony version of Harry strip him of his canon characteristics so much he becomes ooc. Same with Draco and Hermione, why do they seem eerily similar to Ginny?

The double standard with James has always driven me insane.

If you look at old Jily fics people wrote James obsessively asking Lily out as romantic (it's not canon btw, James Potter's big fan here) and at the same exact time they claimed that Ginny writing the poem made her an obssessive stalker. So many popular takes on Ginny this fandom has are drenched in mysogyny and not even the mysogyny of today, the mysogyny of 20 years ago. So many people in this fandom are still people who read the books for the first time around the time they were coming out and developed their loyalty to ships and characters in those years, and they refuse to change their mind about any shitty take they've ever had. So they constantly say insanely mysogynistic stuff and maybe have even the nerve to claim they hate Rowling for her disgusting takes on trans women, like they are any better. You are all just as shitty as she is.

As for fanfictions where Harry is shipped with other characters, the formula is always the same: the more Harry is in character the more the person he is being shipped with is just Ginny with another name. There's not a single piece of fanfiction about Harry that doesn't follow this rule.

But it's not just that, there are so many people who claim to hate hinny but then they just turn their ships into hinny. Of course this is true as I said for Harry-ships but it's also true for so many other ships that have nothing to do with Harry or Ginny.

Fanon Dramione is basically an hinny au. Of course dramione requires incorrect characterizations of Draco and Hermione so the are a billion different versions of dramione. But if you make an average, they are just a Harry who grew up rich and with his parents and that made him go through an asshole phase, and a Ginny who for some reasons couldn't play Quidditch so she developed more strictly her love for stories.

Or, and it pains me to say it, Jily. Jily, a ship I love with all of my being, has unfortunately a bunch of fans who steal things from canon hinny, give them to jily, and then claim they don't like hinny because it's just a copy of jily.

I could talk about romione too but I'm going to stop here out of kindness.

Does Carmy die in the end? Don't hate me.

Ok @thoughtfulchaos773, here's the post.

I've been thinking for a while that Carmy may die in the finale. I may not be able to write this post as intelligently as it deserves but here it go.

You know how shows tend to end how they begin? The pilot begins with Carmy on a bridge with the bear in a cage. This is a dream and seems like a final showdown with his nemesis/alter ego. They are about to battle and then a car horn and swerving sound breaks the dream state and Carmy wakes up in his reality. We also get a scene of a body in a morgue. We assume it's Mikey but what if it's Carmy. We also hear voices from Micheal as if him and Carmy are in the same realm.

All throughout the show driving is a theme. It always seemed noteworthy to me because it's a show themed around cooking. Why is driving so important?

In "Hands" there is a lot of emphasis on who can drive and who can't. In "Dogs", there is confusion on where Cicero lives. Cicero later discusses a dream about Carmy's dad driving and what seems to imply Carmy is the little boy flying forever in the air. Sounds ominous. Syd names her catering company Sheridan Road. In season two Carmy and Claire make random trips out to the suburbs and needing a ride is central. Why do either of them really need a ride to do these errands? Donna crashes her car into the family home. Syd tells Richie to drive friends and family night.

Now back to it all coming full circle. There has been a lot of speculation of Carmy leaving for a different career or not. If we fully accept that he doesn't leave by choice, he could leave due to death. Why does everyone from the health inspector to Mr. Sirsky (sp?) confuse Carmy as the dead brother?

Carmy seems to be gradually handing the place over and disappearing but it doesn't seem to be conscious. That would make him seem suicidal like Mikey. But it's not that, he has no idea he's setting up his departure. He gives Tina the knife. His new whites have his initials in san serif white font, not the pronounced blue cursive, like he's a ghost. Syd's scenes parallel his as if she is meant to take over. He tells her it's her ship and I'll dial business you are everything else. Syd and Carmy are often shown in ethereal light, like Mikey looking back at Carmy in 1.8. Do they both pass on and Syd is the new hope/destiny?

And then, again there is the reference back to the pilot if this all comes true and full circle. Anybody who watched Six Feet Under gets it. I always found these two stories very similar. In the pilot Nate (Carmy) has an aneurysm. We kind of forget about it because the story shifts to him coming back home as the prodigal son and the whole family dealing with the death of the patriarch and the passing over of the family business. The brother who stayed (Richie) is resentful. He stayed. He didn't really want to be a mortician but it was how he stayed close to the family and tried to bond with the dad. The business is in shambles and they have to "change the chemistry" to make it work. A new talent (Sydney) comes in that makes it all better and offers a different perspective. I won't go into the entire plot but in the end what happens? Nate dies. Aneurysm. Full circle. This is often how shows end. There are often clues.

My theory is that somehow Cicero and his dad tie into some sort of trip to the suburbs. I honestly think Cicero is Carmy's real dad. I feel somehow this will come to light and he makes a trip to see one of them. Why was Carmy confused about where Cicero lives? I don't think that was a throwaway line.

Does Carmy die in a car accident in the suburbs?

ORCZY'S FAN FICTION RECOMMENDATIONS

For following Fandoms: Varian and the 7 kingdoms, Lego monkie kid, JRWI riptide

Hi there! I tought I would share some of my favourite fanfictions I've read since April last year, as sort of a recap and also recommendations. These are all longer stories btw, ranging from 78K to  236K words. Hope you find something that piques your interest :D

-Varian's Tangled Trials by IFoundYouJustineTime and TheArtistsMuse A complete Vat7k story adapting the original creators' plot points into an amazing, 24 chapters (episodes) long fic that reads like an actual cartoon. If you're new to Vat7k or Tangled The Series, or even if you haven't seen the latter (like me), you WILL enjoy this. If you like a fun adventure with a bunch of nerds as a found family, this is for you.

-What Summer Meant to You -If I Really Hated you (and I really, really do) both by Battybatzgirl First one's a battle of the bands/modern AU, second is an AU where the boys are rival engineers, both focusing on the ship Varigo. The writing style is what made me stay and read these to the end. Incredibly funny and entertaining to read, the way Varian and Hugo are characterised is just. So good. If you like a well written, lighthearted, romantic comedy, this is for you. (Both include some skippable adult scenes, but the story is much more about the romance)

-Making End's Meet by Meltthepoint As the author's name suggest, this is a melting point (Donella x Ulla) story, set in a modern setting. Donella enrolls Hugo into this new school, who then befriends Varian. Ulla and Donella meet again. This is about how two women make up and start anew after their lives went into directions they didn't want. The story is much more character focused, a really fun read. Very insightful about the women's characters. An exception, as I still haven't finished reading it. Definitely not the type of fic I can binge read, but I'm really enjoying it.

At the end of everything by Squirrelflight A Night in the woods AU (haven't played the game, you don't have to, to read it), and unfinished as of yet, but man. Worth checking out! Unlike the stories above, this one's definitely darker and has a really tense aura. Love it. The writing is so good it makes me so thrilled about what will happen next! I also really like, once again, the characterisation.

-You can stay here by KALL A pre canon story about how Pigsy and Tang adopt MK, how MK gets to be in a safe environment and starts figuring himself out. Great writing style, entertaining plot, what more could I ask for? (maybe an update lol) As of yet, unfinished, and hasn't been updated since late 2022. The author actually posted ( https://www.tumblr.com/its-kall-the-clown/735524530668371968/are-you-going-to-be-updating-any-fics-on-your-ao3 ) about wanting to rewrite the story sometime. Which is great! In case you're reading this, take as long as you want!

-A garden across our collarbone by PittedPeaches Spicynoodle soulmate AU where what you write, or in MK's case, draw on your skin, appears on the soulmate's skin as well. Red Son's journey of (very slowly, this is a slowburn) falling in love with MK. A lot of inner monologues, the story plays out more like a retelling of what happened from Red Son's perspective. Kind of like a diary entry and I LOVE IT. I actually didn't understand the pairing before reading this, nor was I that invested in Red Son's character. This fic changed everything. (it also sends you good luck if you read it on the train! I acquired: friends!)

RIPTIDE

-BREAKING FREE! by earlgray_milktea A fish 'n chips Highschool Musical AU (another thing I haven't seen, you don't need to, to read this). The writing is so undoubtedly Disney, it is at times so over the top dramatic, you can't help but smile at half the interactions. The charm is big on this one. The characters are exagerated but somehow not (completely) out of character. Basically if Riptide was on Disney, this is exactly how they'd act. Also it's just really, really cute.

-Depths of Natarus by goldpines Chip Mermaid AU set in an Undersa/Oversea war, focusing on Fish n Chips as well as Jay Ferin (my girl!). Two reasons why you should read this right now. First: the descriptions are SO detailed and immersive! It made me also kinda have a crush on Gillion Tidestrider. How. Second: it made me care about Jay. And the way she's written here is just so so great. You can tell the author knows what they're doing, the feels just keep coming, I alost teared up multiple times. This story makes you feel a lot of emotions at once, an overall amazing reading experience.

And these were my favs since last April. Specifically the ones that made me go absolutely insane. In a good way. Again, if you have any good recommendations (preferably longer stories, but shorter ones are also fine), please feel free to share them.

Finally read the Pacific Rim novelization. It was, somehow, worse than people had led me to believe.

My main points:

The writing was...well. The shortest way to put this would be that either nobody ever taught Alex Irvine to show, not tell, or he just didn't care for the advice. It was a bit of a slog to get through.

Every time Tendo was named, it was his full name. Other characters were referred to by their first names for the most part after initial introductions, but Tendo remained "Tendo Choi" every time. Killed me.

Same as the above, but for the Jaegers.

Mechanical components were often frequently written out in full, as though the reader wouldn't have caught them the first six times.

The entire deal with Mako and Raleigh's relationship. I did not appreciate the way that was written at all, and I'm not even against them as a ship.

Characterizations. I don't know who these people are, but I absolutely don't know them. These aren't my guys.

(I did like the Kaidanovskys and the Wei Tang triplets actually getting lines though. Wish we'd seen more of them in the movie itself)

CONSISTENCY. I recognize, of course, that novelizations are written based on draft scripts. I was willing to forgive that. I can't forgive it for contradicting things it had already said, sometimes within lines of each other!

(Best example of the above: Raleigh states there were no Mark-5 Jaegers around during his initial service, then remarks that he'd dropped with Striker Eureka once, no more than five lines later. Pick a story, man.)

A personal pet peeve:

This one comes from the actual creators, I'm sure, but I'm a firm hater of the "dinosaurs were prototype kaiju" idea. Leave them alone!!!

There is also a part to this in which Newt contemplates how life on Earth seems to have stemmed from the Precursors sending the dinosaurs. Starts to feel like this is less 'colonization' and more 'we're living in our parents' place'.

All of this is, of course, just how I viewed things as I read through. Quite frankly I didn't consider the novelization in any way canon before I read it and actually going through the entire thing hasn't changed that.

In short, this has given me a dangerous fantasy about rewriting the damn thing myself.

Yes! I have a long winded answer, but short answer is: yes to all.

I definitely headcanon them having kids. I always imagine three, (which I know is somewhat controversial since some people say just because that's what he mentioned with Isabel it doesn't have to apply to them, but I almost always HC three for all my ships LOL). I also want three, because I want them to be able to have at least one of each - I think Tim is meant to be a girl dad, and also should get the chance to be on the other side of a healthy father-son relationship. So I'd like them to first have two girls to really get that girl dad vibe going (to me girl dad means more than one!) and then a boy. (Of course three really ends on how dang long they ever take to GET THEIR SHIT FIGURED OUT and get to this point in canon.)

When I was writing fanfic for another fandom recently, that is long since off the air, there was a lot of great fic that is currently being written where people HC their whole future and a lot of authors would have their own little universes with kids and pets and etc. that take place post series and present day. I would LOVE to do that one day with Chenford - but I would wait until the show is over, to keep it as canon compliant as possible and just go from however it's left. Not that I honestly expect to ever see them actually have or name kids (face it, even if they have a kid who says it'll be named, ask Wopez bwahaha) within canon, but who knows if there's ever a hint at the end, etc. So whenever I write fics with kids now I DO include my girl first agenda, at least once I've alluded to two boys and a girl, a couple times that they have three, but I never name them! It's a weird thing I do, because when I was writing fic for Bones so many years ago, I named the baby before she was born on the show and after we got her real canon name my stories always felt awkward and out of place. So I leave the kids unnamed in the hopes that if they ever do have a firstborn girl we know about, we can always later imagine the girl in the sotry is the actual canon child when we read after the show ends. If that makes ANY SENSE AT ALL lol. (If they canonically have a boy first, well - whoops.)

I actually do have names chosen that I'd use. Have for like a year lol. They're just names I like and feel like fit - I'd headcanoned other names I like but they don't feel right - I've been lately leaning to Nora and Sophie for girls (Charlotte also a strong contender, but I've seen that used a lot). For the boy I haven't felt something that fits but I feel like it's a sort of classic shorter name like Milo or Liam or Theo. I'd love for their middle names to have a nod to Lucy's heritage somehow.

Anyway. Whenever the show ends expect me to channel all my fandom vibes into this post-series universe. If anything changes canonically I'd adapt it to that first!

I really like the concept of "what if the Asl brothers swap parents?" so here is my 2 cents to it:

Ace:

He swaps with Luffy. Obviously that would change his character quite a bit bc his daddy issues regarding Roger are an integral part of his character & how he views the world and himself. He'd still have some issues but well, if you are forced to grow up in a forest full of monsters and mountain badits bc your dad decides to fight the government and dump you with your clinically insane grandpa you'd probably have some too.

Ace has heard a lot of things about the Revolutionaries. The government and nobles would describe them as vicious devils. Some common folk would describe them as delusional.( One small group can't change how the world ticks no matter how hard they try.) Others would describe them as saviours and beacons of hope.

Given his personal experience with corrupt nobles (Gray Terminal fire), Ace understands why Dragon would want to take down the World Government as it stands.So he wouldn't really dwell too much on it and focus on his own ambitions.(Become a famous Pirate). If his father wants to be a Revolutionary then so be it.

(Also he'd definitely remind Garp about it with a smug face whenever the old man brings up joining the Marines.,which never fails to earn him a "fist of love")

Another core difference would be that he probably doesn't try and challenge Whitebeard.

I'm not sure if I remember this one properly but Ace's main reason for going after Whitebeard was that Whitebeard was Roger's Rival and Ace wanted to prove himself as quickly as possible. So if it hadn't been for that I think Ace would have sticked more to exploring the New World, improving his skills and spreading his name. He'd be a lot more laid back and sure he carries a big secret with him but it doesn't fell nearly as much of a burden as it did with Roger.

Naturally Marineford never occurs which would change things up quite a bit.

Sabo:

Sabo swaps with Ace. Sabo is a lot more level headed than Ace and would probably take the fact that Roger is his father a lot better than little Ace. That being said he would still carry certain worries and fears with him for life. What if people find out out about his secret? Would they hate him? Would they leave him?The Marines could show up and execute him any minute now.

I'm not sure whether Ace and Sabo would grow up together since infancy or whether Garp dropped Ace of at Dadans when he was older but either way the two of them would quickly grow fond of each other. Like in canon they only have each other and in a way they can bond over their secret.

Sabo doesn't hate Roger the same way Ace does. Sure he was supposed to be this terrible Pirate but one day he plans to set sail and become a Pirate himself. People would speak and think ill of him anyways he thinks.

I don't want to put him in Ace's position and make him a Whitebeard Pirate bc I doubt Sabo would be as bold as to attack an Emperor unprovoked.

Sabo still sets sail with the goal to be free and explore the world and write a book about it like in canon.

Him and Ace would probably be "rival" pirate captains. Everyone assumes there is some sort of history between them and that they are enemies but in reality it's just two brothers having a pissing contest over who can sink more Marine ships.

Luffy:

Luffy swaps with Sabo. While Ace and Sabo somehow find themselves in a little more favorable position in this Au, Luffy would find himself in a much worse position.

Being forced to wear clothes he doesn't like,restricted meals,being forced to study boring stuff,Luffy would absolutely hate all of this. His parents neglect him and abuse him verbally and emotionally on a daily level so naturally Luffy runs away like Sabo did.

Luffy is loud, eats a lot ,runs around and he loves to explore so the live of a noble would absolutely kill him on the inside.

He goes to the Gray Terminal and meets Ace and Sabo. He follows them around like in canon and when the Porchemy incident happens they finally take him in.

I'm not sure how he gets his df but since Zoan DFs are said to have a will of their own I think the fruit would have found it's way to Luffy with or without Shanks.

The part about Luffy being taken away from his brothers would definitely be different. Luffy is not Sabo. When Sabo got taken Ace trusted that Sabo can take care of himself and that he'll find his way back to them eventually.

But Luffy isn't Sabo.Luffy is their little crybaby brother who still can't protect himself. Who would give up his own live for something as trivial as keeping quite about their stolen treasure stash.

They know Luffy will suffer in High Town. Luffy knows too but he'd gladly trade his freedom for his brother's lives and they hate this.

Luffy would have a tougher time trying to escape then Sabo bc he is younger and clumsier.

Meanwhile Sabo and Ace would desperately try and make plans to free their little brother.

Maybe Dragon's ass actually helps during the fire or they end up forcing themselves to ask Garp but I can't see them leaving Luffy to his fate.

Luffy's pirate journey wouldn't change much though i guess his wanted poster having just "Luffy" means that some people don't view Luffy in the same light.

As a person who hasn’t played any other rhythm game, why do you think prsk is so successful in a category where there are so many other games to choose from? I guess this would also relate to why you quit the other games you were playing?

also i think the story is project sekai is very engaging and generally much better than rhythm games in terms of writing quality and storytelling. i can't comment on bandori because i never got into the story, but compared to D4DJ, proseka is much more consistently good and deep. that's not to say there's anything wrong with D4DJ's more lighthearted overall tone aside from when it gets into questionable shit but sometimes it feels like there's no stakes even when the story tries to say that there are, and generally it's written more like a comedy slice of life than prsk's very realistic and heavier slice-of-life style.

the same can be said for SIF of which i read 6 chapters 3 years ago before skipping literally everything else. the stories were pretty simple again and obviously some people are gonna prefer that over prsk's sometimes more heavy-hitting tone but from a critical pov project sekai does have the better writing.

both the other franchises i mentioned do have really good writing at times. while love live is ultimately slice-of-life with comedy it does have some exceptional character writing, as does D4DJ. Some of the D4DJ stories released in the last year are also amazingly well-written and have dealt with much heavier topics and handled them really well. but that's enough of me gushing about those.

i think its interesting that while this game has always been pretty popular as a idol mobage outside asia, EN suddenly exploded last may-june and i'm not entirely sure why (i guess summer break in america and maybe some adverts and tiktok?). like i used to be able to T20K-30K by barely playing the events and suddenly i was getting T100Ks when I didn't change how i played at all.

Also like. not the best way to judge but when i first checked this fandom's ao3 page in february last year it had about 300 fics and it very suddenly started rapidly going into the 1000s starting that May-ish. like, very rapidly. as of posting this we're at 15516 (only 6k less than enstars which is a much older game) and two ships made it into AO3s top 100 this year so that's a very significant boom in popularity just to back up my bad tiering strats.

i also think tiktok definitely played a part in the game's EN popularity. i don't go there but the tiktok fanbase is huge, right? and then it runs on algorithm shit so people get that stuff on their FYP and download the game. word of mouth but digital style. also crossover with genshin somehow that i think has roots on that app.

the thing is that none of those directly have to do with why people would play proseka over the others and i think that's it. prsk has become an outright popular game outside of the idol-rhythm label. loads of people at my college know what hatsune miku: colorful stage is but barely any of them know enstars or bandori which are the other big names.

i think in someways it's less project sekai being the "preferred" game and more project sekai being the "known" game.

Warframe is now in my top tier. I still like Destiny 2, but I feel burned out, and I don't like how the stuff going last time around Bungie and the gameplay. Expect this: I play a lot of The Sims 4 cuz I like building homes. Honorable and Important mention is Cult of The Lamb.

I talk a lot to myself when I'm alone. Usually, it's self-hate talk. Also, I talk a lot to my pet.

Hobbies

Of course drawing and gaming. I like to build hoses at The Sims 4, reading books, writing short stories.

Idk. I thought it was drawing but I don't feel confident about this anymore.

Driving a car stresses me as fuck, but I have to do it every day. Cleaning. Understand my feelings. Especially when I easily get mad by some small stupid thing.
