🌞🕶️⛱️ shortkingvi's ultimate guide to cool butch fashion in the summer ⛱️🕶️🌞
Hello friends! At long last, I come bearing the summer fashion guide I promised a little while back. As a young kid looking to butch up my wardrobe, I found it rather difficult to find sufficient inspiration for some with my body type and goals. It can be - and is! - difficult to find decent fashion guides geared toward butches by butches, and even moreso for the summer season when the typical butch fashion fallbacks (layers, boots, etc.) just aren't realistic.
And so, as someone who spends a lot of time putting together fun outfits that fit me well and bring me joy, I figured I'd put something together in hopes that someone on the lookout for help figuring out their style might make use of this!
Below you'll find:
Information on determining your style goals
Tips on creating outfits and combinations that are undeniably butch/masc
Advice for butches who might not be safe to shop outside the women's department (you can still make a masc outfit out of women's clothes, I promise!)
Outfit inspirations
The best places to shop as a butch/masc person
...and more!
So, click on the read more if this sounds like it might be useful to you! Feel free to shoot any questions my way, as well; I'm happy to help you out with some more specific advice.
Section 1: How the hell do I figure out what I want to look like?
Before we can get into the specifics, it's crucial to figure out exactly what you're going for on your butch fashion journey, especially in the summer. Butch/masc fashion is not a monolith, and you likely have seen some popular butch trends that you absolutely do not like. That's great! That gives us a perfect place to start.
There's no shame in using celebrities, fictional characters, or even friends and family as a jumping off point for your style. Hell, I recently watched Love Lies Bleeding and have been incorporating muscle tanks into my wardrobe more than ever before. It makes things a whole lot easier if you have an idea of what you'd like to go for with your fashion choices.
I recommend ignoring full ensembles and thinking about the micro details of an item of clothing or outfit that you really enjoy. Consider things like:
Length - is there a sleeve or pant length that you'd like to try out?
Colour - is there a colour you feel like you look good in? A colour you think others look good in? Do not fall into the "x skintones can only wear x colours" rhetoric - that is the devil speaking and we do not do that here. Every colour can be worn by anyone, so long as you style it well!
Vibe - have you been wanting to try out streetwear? Country/cowboy style clothing? Soft academia? It never hurts to pick a vibe and look for inspiration from there. Google, in this case, is your best friend
Pattern - do you enjoy florals, perhaps? Start thinking about what you'd like to incorporate this into
Body type - is there something you'd like to highlight on your body? Maybe a cool tattoo, your newly flat chest, strong thighs, or even a fun haircut you've gotten. It's always great to feel confident about your body in whatever you're wearing
Once you've thought through some of these things, it makes it infinitely easier to establish a baseline. You might really want to buy a Guy Fieri style button up: go for it! Use that as your anchor point, and start to build out the rest of a look from there.
Section 2: I am a butch who doesn't know how to make clothing fun if I can't layer! Help!
Trust me, I get that. Sometimes it feels a lot easier to present more masc when I can wear a hoodie and jacket with some loose jeans, but this does not mean your summer need only be full of plain t-shirts and 9" inseam shorts. Creativity is absolutely possible in the summer.
Take this outfit, for example:
Pretty standard, pretty basic, right? It's a pair of sneakers with a t-shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap. And yet, it's not boring. The shorts are patterned and bright blue, which means they'll be the focal point of the outfit. The shirt, as a result, should be a bit plainer, though it doesn't need to be soulless. I've got a fun little graphic tee on here - theres a larger design on the back - with just a touch of blue in the numbers to match the shorts. The hat is in keeping with the blue and white theme (I am a big fan of matching your hat to your outift. Though it's not absolutely necessary, it makes things look much more intentional on an otherwise simple outfit).
Brief interlude to talk about shirt lengths and sizing here. Though this is not always the way I feel, in shirts like this I tend to prefer to reduce the prominence of my chest. I'm not dysphoric, personally, nor do I bind, but I do enjoy the aesthetic look or a uniform body shape when I'm in a combo like this. In order to achieve this, I buy shirts a size up from what I usually wear. I typically am an XS, so when buying shirts, I'll look for a small size most times. I also almost exclusively purchase my shirts from the men's department because the cut of the shirts follows a rectangular shape and in turn cut a more angular chest to hip shape on the wearer - you'll want to look for shirts labelled "regular fit" to achieve this.
(We'll talk about shorts later on in this guide)
Back to the outfit breakdown. The shoes are Jordans. Disclaimer: I am a big sneakerhead, so my shoes mean a lot to me, but you in no way need to spend the big bucks on your shoes! A simple pair that. again, is in keeping with the theme go a long, looooonnngg way. I also urge you to leave the standard ankle socks behind; low length ankle socks give your outfit a really harsh cutoff. A pair of slightly higher ankle socks - or even a low crew sock - work much better to highlight the muscle lines in your legs and bring that more masculine feel to your lower body clothing.
All of this is to say that while yeah, you might not be able to layer as much as you would like, you can still create pretty simple looking outfits that are engaging, unique, and give you that distinctly butch feel - in a well put together kind of way.
Section 3: I want to wear muscle tanks, but everything I try on looks weird!
Ah, the muscle tank dilemma. My mortal enemy. My eternal plight.
I have bested this, though, and today I'll introduce you to two different ways I've done so.
First and foremost, sleeve length. A good, more masculine looking muscle tank should have sleeves that cover the entire top of your shoulders - without going past them (you'll be edging into cap sleeve territory if that's the case, and that'll move the needle toward a more traditionally feminine style).
Next, please stop falling for the extended sleeve hole propaganda. While a sleeve like this
might be what you have in your mind when I talk about muscle tanks, it is absolutely not doing you any favours in butching up your wardrobe while also keeping it stylish and flattering. These are great for the gym, but not always the best at cutting the body shape you might be looking for in a tank.
What you want instead, is this:
See how the sleeves follow a tighter line around the arms but then cut a more uniform shape down the body? This'll give you wayyyyy more room to play with presentation. You can find tanks like this at almost any clothing store (athletic is your best bet) - this one comes from Champion, and is about $18 CAD.
But maybe you reeeeeallllly don't vibe with store tanks; they might be boring or constantly have logos and sayings that are that specific kind of millennial cringe that makes your teeth ache (sorry millennials, we do not rise and grind here). Well, my dear reader, let me introduce you to my (semi) foolproof method of creating your own muscle tank! Go read that tutorial if you’re interested in cutting your own, and then come back here so we can chat about it.
Ultimately, what you're looking for here is a tank that gives you a slightly boxier shape without absolutely dwarfing you in it. This'll draw attention to the parts you want to show off (in a muscle tank, that's probably arms and shoulders) and reduce focus on your torso's figure.
Section 4: Can we go back to the layers discussion? I need help with that!
Though I have, for the most part, moved out of the layers realm when it comes to my summer fashion, I still love and appreciate the occasional button up situation.
I typically have two rules when it comes to layering that I'll explain here.
Figure out the focus before you put on the outfit
I'm not a fan of a patterned button up paired with an equally busy tee; I think they both end up pulling focus from each other and leaving the outfit looking cluttered. To make sure the outfit does what I want it to, I typically will either do a patterned button up with a solid colour tee or tank underneath, or a simple button up with a graphic tee:
2. Understand that length and fit are everything
It's easy to assume that all button ups are created equal; this is WRONG. Sleeve length is crucial, and simply cuffing your sleeve can make the shirt look much more flattering in the long run. It'll also add some dimension to the layers you're wearing to make sure that they all fit each other appropriately. Your top layer shouldn't be shorter than your bottom layer (there are occasions where this is fine, but typically, it looks messy), so finding a top layer that hits at the waistline or can be tucked in and look good is critical.
Layering in the summer can be tough because of the heat, but many short sleeve button ups are made with lightweight material and are breathable by extension. I like to shop at Hollister or American Eagle for my button ups, but ASOS has a great selection in a wide range of fits and styles, as well!
Section 5: Shorts... just shorts.
Shorts are tough; it seems like the moment you find a length that works for you, the trends move on or you start to hate it. I think that the best rule of thumb for shorts is to buy what works with the style of shirt you tend to wear.
If you wear a slightly looser shirt, but not one that hangs super low, a 3-5" inseam is best for you. It'll do well to cut a taller figure by exposing some more leg, but also provides you with a good selection of looser fit shorts to go with. These shorts in this photo are roughly in this range and look pretty solid with the looser, skate style/streetwear shirt I personally prefer:
A tighter shirt or tanktop typically works better with a longer short - I don't LOVE shorts beyond like a 7" inseam, but there are definitely ways to wear them in a fun, flattering way. I enjoy a longer short when I'm going for that 80s-90s style butch look. If I'm doing certain kinds of cropped muscle tanks, a longer short gives it the messy ratty kind of vibe I like:
Also, don't buy into the jorts slander! They'll always be a simple, classic look that is easy to pair and style. I like to turn my older jeans and longer shorts into shorter jorts when I get tired of them, which gives me the lived in look I prefer from denim.
Shorts, really, are about what you want your figure to look like more than anything. If you're a short lil guy like me, a shorter inseam will almost always help elongate your figure. Buying a short that fits straighter gives your legs an opportunity to not get squashed by something too tight. There's 100% a space between tight femme shorts and baggy basketball shorts, and it's all just a matter of determining what that space is for you.
Section 6: I can't stop wearing Vans and I need to be free
I am taking your hand gently as I say this: there is a whole world out there beyond the skate shoe. Come with me as I take you there.
Please, PLEASE invest in at least one pair of sneakers. I personally wear Nikes most often because I really enjoy the chunkiness of the shoe, as well as the vibrance of most of the designs.
Here are some of the styles I enjoy most:
Dunks: These come in high or low tops and are typically a bit chunkier than other styles. They're sleek but casual and look great with a looser pant.
Air Force 1s: Are a similar shape to the typical Dunk, but are a bit smoother and simple. Don't be fooled by the argument that the white AF1 low is a feminine show - that's the gender devil talking, and we don't like that here. An AF1 is incredibly versatile.
Jordan Spizike Low - if you love Jordans and crave a pair of J4s like I used to, the Spizike is a more affordable option. It's dynamic and fun and looks great if you're wanting to edge into the streetwear realm.
These are only a few examples of Nikes specifically that I think do well to help spice up an outfit or edge into the masc/butch territory if you're not ready to fully dive in.
I've also become a big fan of Vessis recently because they're 100% waterproof and provide some nice casual to semi-formal options.
Summer shoes, ultimately, are about comfort on the move while also looking fun and exciting. I think sneakers do a good job to help with this.
Side Note: if you wear anything under a Women's US 8.5, you can fit junior sizes and save yourself money on shoe costs! I wear a Women's US size 8 and so I exclusively buy Junior US 6.5s and subsequently save myself $100 at times.
Section 7: Nightmare blunt rotation - formal wear in hot weather
It suuuuucks most of the time, I know. But this is probably because you've been lead to believe suits are your only option. Spoiler alert: they're not! I don't have the time to run through all your options here, but I'll give you some general directions to start heading toward that are both butch AND can be tweaked if you're not able to/not comfortable dressing fully butch quite yet.
First up, the short sleeve button up:
One of my best friends got married last May, and I knew that a long sleeve shirt would be FAR too stifling for that kind of weather. SO, the short sleeve white dress shirt came in to save the day:
With this look, I took a rather simple shirt (I don't think it cost me more than like, $50 at the most) and made it formal by adding a tie, a racing stripe dress pant (purple was the wedding theme), and a collar clip that added a pop of gold where I would typically include a necklace. This look got me plenty of compliments, and by cuffing the sleeves and adding a brown belt and shoes, I ensured it looked super clean and formal enough for the setting I was in.
The other semi-formal to formal look I enjoy is the vested pant suit:
I LOVE this look; I recently wore a vested pant suit to a bridal show and it was SUPER flowy and breathable but didn't at all feel too femme for me.
My rule for this is that if you're wearing a loose or baggy pant, leaving the vest open and wearing a tank underneath looks best. I did this and paired them with a chunky platform oxford, and the look came out pretty solid, I think!
If you're interested in a more fitted look, however, a closed vest and a slimmer pant looks incredibly nice; it can almost edge into that punkish middle ground that still is acceptably formal, like this:
Whatever your choice for formal attire, remember that the most important thing is your comfort in hot, sunny weather. Lighter colours are better, but shade and water are most important!
Section 8: Hey, I'm not able to shop for mens clothing yet, what should I do/ where should I shop if I still want a butchier look?
I get that and sympathise; I've only recently (the last few years) felt fully comfortable buying mens clothing. Luckily, we are in an era where even women's trends are veering toward baggy, straight fit clothing, so it's entirely possible to creep toward a masc presentation regardless of the department you shop in.
ASOS has a huge selection of clothing, and they carry quite a few unisex items as well.
I find that Hollister's mens section can also be passed off as just like... baggier womens clothes, so that may be an option.
Sport and athletic wear tends to trend toward gender neutral as well. In the same way, streetwear like Fear of God or Supreme will cut the same look while still giving you a softer transition into buying and wearing masculine clothes.
The most helpful thing, in my opinion, is to find people who dress the way you want to dress and start leaning on that to determine what'll work best for you. It was a lot of trial and error for me and I certainly am still evolving in my clothing decisions, but establishing a baseline of what makes you happy will always result in more confidence and a longer lasting wardrobe.
Section 9: Shortkingvi's Outfit Reference Guide - if You're Looking for Somewhere to Start
Here are some outfits I've put together that are simple and casual and may give you an idea of what you'd like to go for. Not all of these are summer looks, but they do well to show the sort of fit I like to aim for and what I think really affirms my personal expression. Feel free to ask for links to certain items if you'd like to know where they're from!
#i hope this helps at least one person maybe solve a fashion dilemma they've been having!#as you can tell i enjoy a hat and this is because currently i can't cut all my hair off lmao#so i accommodate to get the look i desire!#anyways here are some tags for reach#lgbt#lgbtq#butch#masc#lesbian#gay#bisexual#transgender#pride month#lgbtqia+#fashion#queer fashion#queer#happy to get this OUT of the drafts finally

Chapter 1: Boba Obsession
Narrated by Angel.
Narrator: What's the most important thing after getting out of bed in the morning?
Narrator: To a gorgeous seasoned net surfer, it's turning on the phone, getting on Moments, and checking out the hottest trends, of course.
Narrator: I yawned, cleared my eyes, and listened to the notification bells going off.
Narrator: I tap the red dot on the lower right to see many friends have tagged me.
Narrator: I held the screen closer.
Narrator: !!!
Narrator: I sat right up and wide awake.
Angel: What? The new branch of "Cup of Tea" opened early?
Narrator: The front page on Moments was dominated by that news.
Angel: Nikki forwarded it. Even Momo, too...
Narrator: Not only did they forward it, but also let their feelings known.
Nikki: Oh, I so want a milk tea! But too busy with the nail salon to wait in the long line.
Master of Barbecue: I want to go! Free me, Nikki, let me go!
Angel: *snicker*
Narrator: I know Nikki and Momo from the nail salon. They couldn't make it, but that didn't mean I couldn't buy for them.
Narrator: Plus, as the premier milk tea connoisseur-blogger on Moments, no way I'm missing the grand opening.
Choose either "Sounds interesting" or "Are you a milk tea expert?"
If "interesting," ...
You: Milk tea connoisseur-blogger? Interesting title.
Narrator: Heh, I think so, too! I, Angel, aka Boba online, am the voice for all who seek the one milk tea they can call their favorite!
If "expert," ...
You: You must know a lot on the subject, then!
Narrator: Naturally! There is no milk tea in the whole Apple Federation that I, Angel, aka Boba, do not know about!
--
Narrator: Click on my Moments channel and you'll see my fine Milk Tea Drinking Guide.
Narrator: It documents my thoughts from all these years of consuming thousands of milk tea.
Narrator: Whether you're looking for fruit tea, Early Gray milk tea, or any limited fancy variations...
Narrator: Or like myself, a lover of the classic version...
Narrator: You can find it there in full detail.
Boba: The sea-salt peach topping is perfect for a lazy rainy day. Feeling awful? Try a triple classic milk tea!
Boba: A philosopher once said, you never lived until you chugged down milk tea late at night.
You: Who said that? Never heard of it...
Narrator: That's not important. Oh, it's almost noon. Can't talk. Gotta go get in line!
Narrator: I grabbed a selfie stick and cell phone, ran under the hot sun, and caught the bus.
Narrator: I got off the bus fifteen minutes later at a stop near the milk tea shop.
Narrator: The shop's sign was in dreamy rainbow colors. Next to the door was a giant prop teacup.
Narrator: Candy-colored balloons flanked the storefront, making it look like a cabin right out of a fairy tale.
Narrator: It was my 601st visit.
Narrator: It was surprisingly busy for a weekday. Work wasn't over yet, but a lot of older men and women were jostling for spots already.
Narrator: I even thought the shop might have gotten ringers for the serpentine line.
Narrator: Before I knew it, I was in line for an hour and forty minutes.
Angel: One, two, three ahead of me... Almost there!
Narrator: I wiped the sweat off my forehead. Victory was within grasp!
Narrator: Finally, just one more to go.
Clerk: Hello. What would you like, sir?
Narrator: The plain-looking man with a cap right before me pulled out a seemingly endless list.
Angel: ...
Sir: One of everything on the list.
Clerk: Got it. Please wait.
Narrator: The staff, probably used to orders like this, got to work. Then...
Narrator: Ten years later... Nope, make that twenty minutes and it was my turn!
Clerk: Thanks for waiting. May I help you?
Narrator: I took a deep breath, leaned on the counter, and said...
Angel: Lemon latte with sea-salt foaming and mint mango topping, 75% sweet, half ice! Plus...
Narrator: I rattled off a litany of concoctions not on the menu.
Narrator: The clerk knowingly smiled.
Narrator: You definitely won't find them on the regular menu.
Narrator: That's a skill only the most experienced milk tea bloggers possessed, the knowledge of the secret menu.
Narrator: So my Drinking Guide show absolutely reveals things you don't know or see elsewhere.

Accessorize yourself with Ornaments.
What are ornaments?
Hello everyone, I hope you all are flourishing. So, you won’t believe what is coming up in this article of accessorize yourself with Ornaments and Apparels. Well, we all dressed up as per our own comfort after looking for the trends. Yes, trends are most important as per today’s life. Ornaments are like some objects which beautify your outfits. These can be made up of different metals and it depends upon the person what he or she wants to wear along with which dress. In ancient times, people used the stones and after carving it they produced the final object to carry with their dress to look different from others. As the time flew, the natural things were used as ornaments like Flowers, Petals, Pebbles, Threads, Crystals and Stones Feathers. These accessories were worn on the special day or sometimes famous people or leaders used to wear. Nowadays, you can accessorize yourself with ornaments to look different and to beautify their outfits.
A spice to your dress.
Ornaments are like icing on the cake. It embraces your uniqueness. While carrying a simple necklace on a gown makes you present better rather than staying simple. A piece of metal can elevate your appearance and it can enhance your confidence. It makes a dress beautiful. The collection of the right piece of metal can represent your wealth, status, your power, etc. Men also Accessorize themselves with ornaments to show their dignity. Some of the ornaments are worn to preserve tradition. Accessorize yourself with Ornaments as they are like a pinch of salt which makes the dish perfect. You should check the color combination of dress and footwear as well as which will greatly help you to dress up well.
Truths and Myths…
The trends of the ornaments are processed from our ancestors. According to Indian rituals the married women should carry rings in their toes which helps them to stay healthy and it is worn on the 2nd toe of the foot. It is also a myth that this brings good luck to a married couple and provides longevity to a marriage. As specified by some people the toe ring should be built with silver metal only, which will surely help the ladies to get the benefits from it. The main and traditional stone of Australia is Opal, Jadeite is stone for Japan, Taihu (Tai Lake) stone is found in China. These things can be true and fake as well but this whole context is written as per my myths and truth spread all over the world.
Ornaments in fashion.
To accessorize yourself with ornaments, we are always eager to choose a piece of metal which beautifies our dress. Moreover, people are choosy to select the accessories according to their closets. Specially male choose simple and aesthetic objects like wrist watches, rings, hats and caps, a chain for neck, cufflinks, tie accents, blazer buttons, shirt studs, lapel pins, belt buckles, earrings, and money clips, etc. Men always prefer to buy branded accessories. There is a fashionable trend of belts and scarves, gloves among women. Fashion is done as per the current tendency. Fashion ornaments should be chosen as per the age of a person. And please try to do not over fashion in a state of accessorizing yourself with ornaments. Preserving your own traditional ornaments makes you feel proud and you would be able to share the details with your descendants.
Which ornaments should be opted?
I am aware that you are perfectionist for choosing the objects for yourself, but there should be change in your trend as fashion is rapidly changing. For example :- boys used to carry printed ties with plain Shirts and blazer suits, but nowadays the trend is for plain ties along with shirts, especially white and black ties. Moreover, in casual dresses there is a trend of carrying a half sleeves shirt with shorts. There is a trend of one foot anklets for women. These should be getting matched with your costumes. Different accessories from your dress will let you down in public.
Ornaments for gifts…
We all have lots of friends, and we celebrate their birthdays and their special occasions with them and we give them some presents in the form of happiness. In today's life it is quite difficult to give gifts to someone, but we know the common preferences of a male and female so, in the same accordance we purchase some things and give gifts to someone. Ornaments are the best gifts ever to give someone. As women have a wide range of ornaments and people have a lot of options to give gifts to their loved ones. Girls can give gifts as bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc.
Self esteem…
As it is clearly understandable that ornaments help a person to be fulfilled with confidence. The individuals get self pumped after accessorizing themselves with ornaments. It is necessary which ornament you are wearing with which dress. Both things should justify each other. For instance, do not wear bangles or hand bands along with wrist watches. Do not wear anklets along with jeans tops otherwise it will let you down in public. As in ancient times, a king used to carry a lot of gold and specially a crown on their head to accessorize himself with ornaments. And in the current era, people use to buy branded things to show their prestige and it also seems rich rather than others.
Choose right.
So, have you set a plan for what you are going to purchase? Have you decided what gift you are going to give someone? Have you done with your mind mapping which dress suits well with an accurate dress? If you are facing an obstacle then we are a right place to ask about your query. Accessorize yourself with ornaments with the right collection.
In conclusion, there are several influencers all over the world, and if you really want to get change and want to flow with fashion then you should take counseling from influencers as ornaments embraces your dresses, styles, your elegancy, your self esteem, helps to preserve your traditions, groom your rituals, your looks, etc. and accessorize yourself with ornaments.

How to Style an Oversized T-shirt for Men | 2024
Street style will never go out of fashion and one key component to it is oversized t-shirts men - these fashionable tops create a very chic yet casual aesthetic when worn correctly and ironed properly.
However, even though these pieces have long been part of fashion culture, some individuals still struggle with how to style or wear an oversized t-shirt correctly. If this article resonates with you then perhaps some tips would help create the desired look!
Fashion has recently taken an unexpected path - sometimes all works, while at other times not everything will resonate well with an audience. So let us help you take steps in the right direction to avoid faux pas in fashion!
Consider Your Occasion
While the oversized trend may be popular right now, it is important to realize they should only be worn on certain occasions. Although casual in appearance, even formal events may call for formal attires which exclude your casual oversized T-shirt for men. Instead, pair it with some well-tailored open jackets and some chinos for a smart casual ensemble!
Choose Oversized T-Shirts, Not Big
While oversized anime tees in India may be in fashion right now, don't go buying clothing that is bigger in size than your own size - instead opt for apparel designed and cut specifically to your size that meets this criteria and this doesn't equate to wearing larger-sized apparel! If you have questions on how to style baggy anime tshirts or what can make an oversized shirt stylish then continue reading - here you will get all your answers.
Oversized T-Shirt with Check Shirt
This look works especially well in colder climates. Wear your oversized T-shirt over regular fitted jeans and layer it with a checkered shirt for a stylish and comfy outfit, ideal for lunching out with friends, dates, or simply exploring. Complete the look by adding ankle-high sneakers and sunglasses - and remember to experiment with different colors or plaid styles of shirt until you achieve an astonishing final outcome!
Denim Jacket for The Win
theotakuclub offers another way of styling an oversized T-shirt: pairing it with a classic denim jacket. This will add structure while still maintaining chicness; for formal events you could tuck it in and pair the jacket over top for added sophistication - nothing beats classic denim and white T-shirt combo! We promise! Give it a try yourself and see!
Plain and Simple
Anime T Shirt in India combines simplicity and functionality. Theotakuclub offers simple yet stylish basics when it comes to casual outfits: the basic oversized tee combined with jeans and sneakers can look chic, while adding accessories such as sunglasses or baseball caps will complete your look. Experiment with different t-shirt colors and styles while adding wristbands, rings and chains as an added touch!
Ezoic
Striped trousers have become the latest fashion fad, so to rock this style choose a simple black or white t-shirt and pair it with striped pants for an eye-catching look. or go bolder by picking multi-coloured pair that can be combined with solid-coloured oversized anime tees in solid colors; just remember the fit should be loose enough so as not to look baggy. Complete your ensemble by accessorizing with ankle-length boots, neon shoes or anything else you feel complements this look like Ranveer Singh did.
Keep It Edgy
Stripes don't just work in bottoms... If you own a long-sleeved striped T-shirt, layer it with another solid T-shirt of matching color to create an eye-catching and edgy look. Pair this look with black jeans, white sneakers, silver jewelry and even add a fanny pack for an ultra cool ensemble!

Building Your Streetwear Wardrobe: From Basics to Statement Pieces
In the ever-evolving world of fashion, streetwear has emerged as a dominant style, merging comfort, creativity, and self-expression.
Building a streetwear wardrobe that truly represents your unique style requires a blend of basics and statement pieces.
This guide will walk you through the art of curating your streetwear collection, ensuring you stay on-trend while staying true to your individuality.
From essential foundations to bold, head-turning items, we've got you covered.
The Foundation of Streetwear Basics
Your journey to crafting a stellar streetwear wardrobe begins with the basics. These are the timeless, versatile pieces that serve as the foundation of your look. Consider investing in:
T-Shirts: Start with plain tees in neutral colors like black, white, and gray. These can be easily mixed and matched.
Denim: A pair of well-fitted jeans is essential. Opt for classic blue or black denim.
Hoodies and Sweatshirts: Comfortable, stylish, and perfect for layering.
Sneakers: Clean, classic sneakers go with almost any streetwear outfit.
Caps and Beanies: Add an edge to your look with headwear that suits your style.
These basics form the canvas upon which you'll add your unique streetwear personality.
Infuse Your Wardrobe with Statement Pieces
Once you've established your streetwear foundation, it's time to infuse your wardrobe with statement pieces that set you apart. These are the items that turn heads and make a bold statement about your personal style. Some ideas include:
Graphic Tees: Express your interests, passions, or favorite bands through graphic tees.
Sneaker Rotation: Collect unique and limited-edition sneakers to make a statement with your footwear.
Outerwear: Invest in statement jackets or coats that showcase your individuality.
Accessories: Elevate your look with distinctive accessories like chains, bracelets, or rings.
Designer Collaborations: Keep an eye out for collaborations between streetwear brands and designers for exclusive pieces.
Remember, statement pieces should reflect your personality and interests, so don't be afraid to think outside the box.
Mixing and Matching
The key to a successful streetwear wardrobe is the ability to mix and match your pieces seamlessly. Here are some tips:
Color Coordination: Understand color theory and experiment with color combinations that suit your style.
Layering: Layering adds depth and complexity to your outfits. Combine basics with statement pieces for a balanced look.
Texture Play: Mix different textures to create visual interest in your ensemble.
Proportions: Pay attention to proportions; oversized tops can pair well with slim-fit bottoms, and vice versa.
Footwear Matters: Sneakers can change the entire vibe of your outfit. Choose them wisely.
Building a streetwear wardrobe that encompasses both basics and statement pieces is an art form. It's about expressing your individuality while staying true to the core elements of this fashion style. Remember that streetwear is ever-evolving, so don't be afraid to adapt and experiment.
Curate your collection thoughtfully, mix and match with care, and, most importantly, wear your streetwear with confidence.
Whether you're strolling through the city or hitting up your favorite hangout spot, your streetwear wardrobe will speak volumes about your unique style. Embrace it, and let your creativity shine.

Shingeki no Kyojin Headcanons: 104th training corps (College AU - Outfits pt II)
Part I | College AU HCs
Part II of the outfits/aesthetics headcanons - College AU that would (kinda) be included in the oneshot I'm working on.
IMPORTANT: I do not own Shingeki no Kyojin nor the trend of this outfits-displays, only this HCs belong to me. // Contains spoilers (for the icons that I used in some characters) // English is not my first language, so I ask for your patience and understanding.
Historia Reiss
She has a huge wardrobe and so well organized by color, textures, and sizes. From halter tops to maxi dresses, our queen really dresses like one.
Forever in love with skirts and dresses with patterns and/or pastel colors. But don’t get confused, girl has range.
So, one could see her wearing monochromatic ensembles one day and the other, she’s all dressed up with some bright color pieces matching a patterned shirt.
Also owns a vast collection of jewelry and accessories both original and classy. And let’s not forget the shoes: sneakers, heels, boots, sandals and cute little anklets to match. I swear she can make crocs look boujee.
Contrary to what people think, she doesn’t support fast fashion industry. Aware of her privilege, she knows she has the money and time to buy from small businesses and keep herself trendy.
Last but not least, and kind of clothing related: Historia loves taking Ymir to thrift shopping dates and later go eating at some indie cafeteria. The lifestyle is also part of the outfit, alright?
Ymir
Her wardrobe consists in comfortable clothes and not giving a fuck. All her clothes give Rockstar lesbian vibes (stan this queen). Her designated color palette is based on dark shades, so it’s a real contrast between her outfits and Historia’s.
Loves combat boots and her wasted Converse TM, although her favorite pieces from her apparel are bomber jackets, coats, sweaters, and hoodies.
Ymir also wears a fair amount of stainless-steel accessories, mostly chunky rings and chains. Moreover, is common to find her listening to music, therefore, earphones are a fashion statement really.
Speaking about must-wear, this girl likes to paint her nails black but due her anxiety she tends to scratch the painting off so it gives this grunge look (don’t romanticize this fellas).
Historia would suggest her some trends or give her advice about color, but being honest, Ymir has a very well-defined style at this point.
Now, about her dress style: She won’t dress like a metalhead nor grunge (at least not intentionally). And she wouldn’t define her style as dark, it’s just what it is.
Reiner Braun
He wears lots of denim in jackets and jeans but also owns a couple of dress pants that combines with beanies or simple caps. Also, has plenty of plain simple shirts that fit his strong body.
Reiner usually wears opaque shades of all colors. Another fact, he’s not a big fan of patterns unless we’re talking about sweaters. He also wears jackets yet avoids cardigans and hoodies.
A very important thing to know, Reiner has a lot of gym clothes, he works out daily so don’t be surprised.
Most of those clothes are joggers, pants, shorts, and t-shirts that look as if he ripped them off or something.
Actually, a lot of his clothes look like they’re about to be ripped apart due his huge ass pectorals (please, Reiner, let me rest gently on your pecs). Just kidding, his whole wardrobe fits him perfectly.
Finally, if Reiner had to define his style in a sentence, he’d probably acknowledge that he gives the impression of a rich a-hole, but really, Rei just likes to be comfortable and presentable at all times. So, rich white guy it is for now.
Bertolt Hoover
Bertie is that one friend that always carries a cardigan or sweater just in case, also because he tends to lend his clothes if a friend of his is in need. So thoughtful, our big baby.
His wardrobe is amazingly well organized, and its color palette is unmatched. Lots of blue, brown, beige, white and black.
We know he’s tall enough to call everybody’s attention every time he enters a room. And being as shy as he can be, he avoids brilliant colors or striking pieces. Instead, he chooses simpler outfits.
Bertolt follows this formula every time: pants, shirt, sweater. Everything clean and discrete.
Now if we must talk about his shoes, Berts prefers some white sneakers or modest dress shoes. He wouldn’t say he owns a vast collection, rather, he keeps a fair amount for different occasions.
No tattoos nor piercings. Speaking of which, it’s so rare to see him wearing any accessories at all. Maybe he'll carry with him an analogical clock, and that's it. Although if someone gave him a friendship bracelet you can be sure he'll wear it all-the-time.
Annie Leonhart
Lots of denim for her jackets and jeans. Hoodies, bands merch and graphic t-shirts.
Her clothes’ color palette has range but nothing too pastel or colorful. Instead, she gets all the opaque version of the pieces she likes.
Not that Annie hates dresses or skirts, it’s just unusual for her to even think about wearing them. She prioritizes being comfortable, and tight/short clothes can’t provide her that feeling.
Hates slim clothes unless it’s a tank top or something similar. She just prefers oversized hoodies and mom jeans. Also, if Annie can avoid skinny pants, you can be sure she will.
Owns a fair amount of gym clothes because she also likes to train but most of the times, you’ll see her running around campus, really. She’s a simple woman with simple pleasures.
Annie is the personification of ‘looks like she could kill you, is an actual cinnamon roll’, from her attitude to her clothes. So beware, for she’s the queen of looking rude with her chains around her belt, and her ring to match but don't let her fool- holy shit, that thing can actually stab someone. As I was mentioning, such a sweet gal, isn’t she?
Hitch Dreyse
She can make it boujee with so little effort (and money), lemme tell you. Wears her clothes with such an attitude and class. Hitch's an actual wine-mom, or aunt maybe? she gives those vibes.
People have the impression from her style, that her parents are rich, but nothing could be further from the truth. It’s just that Hitch knows how to dress. (Also, we know that for a fact sis has a scholarship, okay?) ANYWAYS,
Miss here is forever in love with white and baby blue. Owns plenty of jeans but also dress pants and culottes that wears with blazers or shirts that make her look like a princess with a diversity of fabrics such as satin, silk-alike texture, and cotton.
Hitch is the queen of heels. Although she hates very high ones, she rocks shorter heels and walks in them with little to no effort. Or at least looks like it. All of her shoes are classy yet unique.
Now, let’s talk about her collection of accessories. Hitch likes her jewels in gold and only buys signature pieces: rings, earrings (for her four lobe perforations, two in each ear) and necklaces, of course. Yes, it is gold but in modest designs. Sounds fair, right?
Marlowe Freudenberg
Our big boy in here thinks that he should look presentable at all times since he’s the Chief Editor of the History student’s academic journal at Paradis’ Uni. Not that he cares a lot of his appearance, really.
And that’s actually cute because he puts effort into his outfits. Marlowe would be one of those straight guys that are hygienic and know how to dress and has no fragile masculinity.
Cologne is a must and part of his attire just like handkerchiefs are, because at the same time, he was raised to be the classic gentleman TM.
Marlowe dresses in all colors; he can’t choose a favorite one or a never-changing palette. He’s aware of season colors too and plays that at his wardrobe favor.
Yet for his outfits he’d follow few simple rules: oxfords (cleaned), dress pants (somewhere between slim fit and straight leg), some polo/dress shirt/cotton thing-y for top and a sweater / cardigan / blazer if season demands it.
Finally, our favorite student-editor spends some time of his routine shaving his face and styling his hair, albeit wouldn’t consider himself a vain guy nor full of himself. Lowkey expects Hitch to notice his appearance. Such a sweetheart.

since I love your headcanons/meta (if you're up to it) can I have your thoughts on the guard + fashion
andy
Andy probably has a pretty complicated relationship with fashion, like i think she does with most things in the modern world given the fact that it’s only a tiny spec of her lifetime
She’s spent her life watching thousands upon thousands of fashion trends come and go and was alive during the creation of many fabrics themselves
She’s been a warrior her entire life, we may not know the manner of her first death (or at least not from the movies) but we know she’s spent most of her life as an immortal fighting, both before and after she met quynh
Fashion for her was always at the very least comfortable and flexible, something she could travel and fight in without a moment’s notice
But to some extent how she looks, her image is a very important aspect of her, especially in the earlier part of her life
She was a famed fighter for so long, earning her name “fighter of man”, there were probably stories told of her and quynh, warrior women who no one can defeat, her clothing at that time at least semi reflected that, she wanted to be seen as “unbreakable” as she says in the movie
She had probably minimal armor, after all she doesn’t need it technically and would only prefer it to have less healing time if she took on less damage, but her clothing showed exactly who she was, every bit the warrior
As practical as she is, who she appears to be is still probably very much still tied to her identity, she may not be known anymore and doesn’t even want to be for the sake of their safety but her clothes are not just strictly practical, rather than be the warrior of myth she has now become a warrior of the modern age, a warrior of the shadows
Her clothes still reflect her younger self, the famed warrior, just scaled back and modernized. She wears calf-high boots, arm braces and fitted clothing in all black she cuts quite and imposing figure and that’s what i think she wants. She doesn’t necessarily use it to intimidate others, as her younger self may have done, this time her clothing is now to make her still feel powerful, a reflection of who she is now: skilled and deadly, ready at a moments notice to protect those she loves
While jeans and a tank top is a perfectly normal outfit, with the boots and braces you’d do a double take, wondering who she was, but it’s meant to blend in just enough but if you look closely enough at how tight the boots are laced and her posture, tank top carefully tucked in you’d start to wonder
I think she does actually like fashion, she’s seen so much of it and she probably sees things that remind her of something she saw hundreds of years ago, like seeing trends pop up again and it fills her with nostalgia. It reminds her of when she was in love with humanity, loved seeing what people created and invented and when she truly believed in their cause
But things definitely changed after quynh was thrown in the ocean, just had a less of desire and the clothes probably reminded her of quynh, what’d she’d wear and what she’d get for andy to wear and as modern times came around she stuck to stuff that was more practical, still a little fashionable, but stuff that could be worn doing anything from sleeping to fighting
I think her clothing in the movie, mostly black, reflects who she is as this time: a powerful and strong warrior who’s also afraid, she’s afraid that she spent her life fighting for something that doesn’t matter but also (pre-nile) afraid of what she’s going to do now that she said the world could burn - what does a 6,000+ immortal warrior do then?
booker
Booker is not unfashionable, and while his relatively apathetic and cynical nature might make you think fashion isn’t something he would care about, i think he does
He isn’t like joe who would go the extra step to make an outfit more aesthetically pleasing, but also he isn’t as super practical as nicky (he keeps his gun in his pants for fuck’s sake)
Booker is tired and wants to feel normal, to feel his humanity that he feels is slipping away from him even though it’s already been 200 years - he’s still adjusting and that’s because he never wanted this and still doesn’t completely accept this is his life now (hence at least a partial reason for his betrayal)
But i don’t booker is one to make too much of a fuss about what he’s wearing, he wants simple clothing that won’t make him look out of place, especially since he was the one who met with copley for that previous mission maybe he is the one who scouts missions as their seemingly resident computer person
So he goes for what a lot of people do: classic pieces of clothing in selection of relatively neutral colors that all work together. In their life it’s important to have clothes at the ready, both in their bags and at their safehouses and i’d bet at least most of his stuff would work together with no issues
Aside from the tac outfit of course, he mainly wears an assortment of jeans, boots, button downs and leather jackets in mostly blacks and grays with a couple faded blues and greens - any of these can be thrown on without an issue, it looks like a complete outfit and nothing about how he’s dressed is any way going to attrract attention
Plus this man doesn’t care enough about himself to make him look good rather than just being fine with what he has, he wants to die and doesn’t allow himself to feel the love he has from his family, dressing up to him isn’t going to add anything or make anything better
So in the sequel i’d love to see him deal with his pain and his betrayal head on and who knows maybe joe will buy him some zipper pants too and maybe booker will actually like them
nicky
Nicky is the other more practical one other than andy, but he lacks her attempt at keeping at appearances/empowerment
The majority of movies he’s wearing plain t-shirts and regular jeans with dad jackets, the only slightly impractical fashion choice being his hoodie from the tac outfit, which it does cover him up completely and allows him to cover his face more if needed but also it’s hot (i also like that post comparing the hoodie to the crusader’s chainmail helmet)
But nicky in essence is practical, he’s the protector of the group, always watching and always on the edges, he doesn’t care much i think for what he wears as long as it allows him to do his job
Yes of course he participated in fashions over the years, and will wear things joe picks out for him and occasionally what he picks out for himself, but that stuff is not for when there is a mission, not when people need help
But i think he usually gravitates towards simple like andy, something to run and fight in but he lacks andy’s past of fame, reverence, and notoriety (at least in the way she had it - he did fight in the crusades after all) so his clothing isn’t to do anything for him but to act as clothing, it holds no mental power over him, he has no image to project - he’s done so much that he wants to help people and protect his family and that’s it
I don’t think growing up in genoa before the crusades lent itself to that many fashion opportunities and while we aren’t sure of his exact status, i don’t think any of the guard were particularly wealthy (except possibly yusuf as the son of merchants) and being a priest at the time i’m sure didn’t make him wealthy in his adulthood either
And while he’s lived 900+ years, the way you grew up doesn’t just leave you, he was at least catholic, and i still think he holds his faith close, just in a different way now
Plus look at his tac outfit, the most comfortable looking (it is a hoodie after all) and he has half a dozen guns strapped to himself along with sword, he wants the ability to carry his things comfortably without impeding him in any way, he wants to be totally and completely prepared and is very much the typical dad in this sense, everything must be on hand so he can protect those he loves
Also you know this man owns cargo pants much to joe’s dismay
joe
we all know joe is the fashionable male among the guard, i mean the backwards baseball cap and the zipper pants? yeah
in his tac outfit, the hat really adds nothing to it besides aesthetic, it’s not shielding his eyes from the sun because he’s wearing sunglasses and it doesn’t aid him in any way during a fight unless he had decided to pull a booker and do “whatever works” and just like hit someone with it - it’s a purely aesthetic choice
but joe was the child of merchants and lived in an area with a rich history of colorful and beautiful fashion, the region was known for the lightweight fabrics and light silks that during the crusades, many were brought back to europe and astounded the europeans
i think that has stayed with joe, that complete appreciation and awe at the craft of making clothing and using clothing to show yourself and personality
joe is also a man of the arts, there was so much poetry and arts in the maghreb region, and while that existed in italy as well, nicky was a priest and probably wasn’t exposed to it much outside a religious context
joe is also an artist himself, he has such a grand appreciation for aesthetics and while clothing purely for aesthetics isn’t practical for the life they live unless they are on a break, he manages to infuse his clothing with his personality nonetheless
the backwards hat was fun, unnecessary but it also didn’t get in the way of his fighting. he probably just enjoyed the look (and i know we all did too) and the leather jacket with the hoodie and zippered pants at the end scene was just such an effortless cool look that was still practical but had a lot more personality and an attempted look™ than say nicky and his dad jacket
nile
most of what nile is wearing in the movie isn’t her choice of clothing, not that i don’t think she’d absolutely pick out that green bomber jacket but in the movie she wasn’t the one who picked it, it was packed for her
but the outfit she wears in the end is just like her, trendy and young and refreshing given that the rest of the guard sticks to their own styles they’ve been in the whole movie
but nile is the one who is most likely to branch out, she’s only in her late 20s and by her last scene in the movie it’s only been maybe a week or so since she became immortal, she hasn’t evolved a ‘be ready to fight’ kind of fashion and doesn’t have the hundreds of years of experience telling her to buy things that she can fight in as well as sleep in - now she was in the marines so to some extent but not with her own personal clothing choices
despite her chaotic introduction to being immortal, it won’t set in for a while that their lives are running from one danger to the next, taking breaks when they can, especially with andy’s renewed commitment to the job she and the others set out to accomplish, her clothing style will probably change as she settles into this new life
but we can see in her last scene, she is wearing comfortable clothing, a fitted shirt with a stylish yet somewhat more loose fitting jacket and looser pants (they look like joggers and i can’t completely remember if they are or not)
so while her clothes are comfortable, they are more fashionable than any of the others, and while this probably has lots to do with her age i think it’s very important to her current state of mind
she’s had the most insane weeks of her life, found out she’s not going to die for a very long time, found out there are others like her, and had to say goodbye to her family without seeing them again because she’s decided to stick with her new life
and this is a massive change for her, after being in the military for quite a few years, assuming she joined when she around 18-20 which i think she did enlist then especially given the fact that her dad passed when she was younger
life in the military is very controlled, so her having this sudden new gift but also this vast wide open future is probably terrifying to her, so much has changed so quickly, she hasn’t had the time to properly sort through how she’s feeling and truly realizing what this life means
her clothes are a reflection of one thing in her life she can currently control because she can’t control what’s going to happen in the world and where copley will find them a job or where they will be at any one time but she has control over herself so she dresses herself how she wants, how she’d dress if she was home
it’s some semblance of normality, some piece of herself that hasn’t changed and that she wants to express
quynh
while we don’t see quynh much besides in flashbacks and then in the final scene i think fashion is going to be something important to her
she spent 500 years drowning, unable to do anything, unable to save herself
nile said she was feeling insane and angry, quynh spent 500 years without an ounce of control over what was happening to her and regaining her life is something she is not going to take for granted
she’s going to live her life to the fullest, which includes wearing whatever she likes and wearing the colors she loves and the clothing that makes her feel beautiful and badass and powerful - a little like andy and a little like nile
it’s a huge part of her life she’s regained, clothing is something the whole world sees and part of how we perceive people and in a world that she doesn’t know at all she’ll want to craft herself an image because clothing is still one thing she can understand - the styles are all different but i have no doubts it’s something she took to quite quickly, having something she can control completely

The "tip of the hair” thing from anime characters.
We all know these characters who have funny hair color ranging from bright pink to sparkling white, passing by mysterious purple. It’s almost an unspoken rule not to ponder too much on the color of characters’ hair, because it’s so cool!
Here are some theories/possibilities on the reasons behind the tip of the hair!
(Please do not take any of these seriously)
Warnings: please do not take this seriously, fight scene, 5 scenarios within the theories, last scenario being just plain mean… (~4k words)
Characters: Kita Shinsuke, Kocho Shinobu, Yushiro, Tokito Muichiro, Yashiro Nene, Ishigami Senku, Akugatawa Ryuunosuke, Zenin Naoya
1st part: It’s naturally like this. “The ‘natural’ hair color”
It’s just like childhood blond people.
The people who are born blond, live through their childhood being blond and then, treason. Their roots start to darken, spreading the brown over the blond and they are no longer Primrose but Katniss. And it’s difficult, you know, to explain that they are blond because they are going through a strange phase where they no longer know the color of their own hair (*sniff*, just kidding).
So, it’s just like this, the roots are brown but often the tip of the hair is of a lighter color (blond, even ginger in certain places). You take this, and you reverse it, making so that the roots are lighter, and tips are darker.
Example: Kita Shinsuke, Haikyuu
Here you have baby Shinsuke, with the same natural hair color as when older.
(psst, imagine also if during summer his hair darkened more, just like people have them more blond).
It’s a new kind of molecule. (Part 1)
There was a mutation, the melanin mutated help! Other than the eumelanin (dark/brown) and the pheomelanin (red/yellow), another one appeared giving people crazy (cool) hair color! What’s more is that this one actually moves.
Example : Kocho Shinobu, Demon Slayer
Notice first, this beautiful purple. What do we also notice? The ratio and the defined line, just as if all hair should go from black to purple at the same exact point.
This is NOT a coincidence; this molecule can travel. I will explain that; so, we notice that younger Shinobu’s hair are shorter than when she is 18/19. However, as her hair grow longer there is more purple that is appearing? Shouldn’t there be lesser purple? No and we can thank this new, heroic molecule.
New systems developed inside the follicle, and they can sense, perceive the ratio of the colors. As the hair grow longer, more of this molecule will be created and sent to the extremity of the hair, allowing Shinobu to always have the same black/purple ratio on all the affected hairs, which explain the clear line as they are roughly the same length.
It’s a new kind of follicle. (Part 2)
And a lazy one at that! While working efficiently at the beginning, it soon becomes so lazy that it thought about just letting the regular black/brown/ginger/blond color instead of continuing working hard to color the hair a beautiful shade.
Example: Tokito Muichiro, Demon Slayer
(In his case, the follicle just forgot)
The Marie-Antoinette syndrome
The Marie-Antoinette syndrome is when someone hair suddenly turn white due to an intense stress.
The name came from folklore about the hair of Queen Marie-Antoinette of France (1755-1793), who during the night before her execution by guillotine, had her hair turn white in her cell due to stress.
The Marie-Antoinette syndrome could have had another name as Thomas More in 1535 also had his hair suddenly whitening the night before his execution, there were several cases of the syndrome throughout history, but no research suggests that we can lose hair color overnight. Yet, stress do cause hair to whiten, not overnight, but progressively.
Example: (well, might as well go with the same manga) Yushiro, Demon Slayer
I’m actually pretty sure this is due to stress as before meeting Tamayo he was sick and he may have had a time where all his hair were black, but the stress just came back when he realized how much he loves Tamayo and how many potential rivals he could have (lol). (assuming his hair continue to grow, but we know it’s not *sigh*)
So, this was all for now for the “natural” hair color part. Now, just imagine them just after they cut their hair.
You tilt your head sideways, examining Shinsuke’s hair while sipping your juice from under the shadow of the peach tree.
The sun was scorching, obliging him to wear his hat while gardening but not preventing you from taking sneak glances at his new hairstyle —diligently cut by his grandmother— the missing black color at the tip of his hair still slightly disturbing you.
When you saw him that day, your accustomed-to-seeing-him brain went into a frenzied panic assuming a non-existing threat from the sudden change in the pattern of his hair. You, without having a choice, followed behind this archaic brain of yours, metamorphosing into a stuttering, eyes-avoiding mess when your heart won the fight with your brain and decided that this would fluster you.
The day was spent in his bedroom, playing with his hair sometimes brushing them in the opposite direction, their straightness prickling your palm sometimes just rolling a strand between your fingers, eyes prying for even the tiniest spot of black leading you to conclude that they had all been cut off.
Your view of your boyfriend is suddenly blocked… by the face of said boyfriend. The blank stare on him was too much, as it was all he saw whenever he turned around to check on his resting girlfriend, leading him to come nearer.
“Hey, are you feeling all right?” He approaches his hand to you head, brushing your baby hair out of your face. “Even with a hat and sunscreen, maybe the sun was too strong? We can go inside and rest if you want to.”
You pull him to sit next to you, taking his hat off by the process and raising your head to scan the sky through the branches and leaves protecting you both.
“Nah, I’m okay,” you reach behind you and dive your hand in the cooler, grabbing a cool bottle of water, “you should drink a little though and we have to go back soon granny is going to worry, and I don’t want her to come outside to search for us in this kind of weather.”
You battle a little bit and screw off the cap to hand the bottle to him, which he takes and grace your fingers with a kiss right after.
“I am still not used to not seeing the black tips in your hair. Sorry I was staring,” you apologize.
He laughs it off, internally relieved that you were not mad or rehearsing a prank forged with the twins in your head.
He still had some influence on them and intimidating them was not a problem. He also could retaliate without an ounce of guilt.
But while he could scold you —it is fun to see you being apologetic and trying to be forgiven, your pranks were rather mild too—he could never be mad too long, as your pranks were just, well kind. If the twins are not involved.
“I can understand. Look at me as much as you want, I’m here for this as well after all.” He stands up and pulls you up after closing and putting the strap of the cooler on his shoulder.
“Let’s go home.” And you follow him, carefully placing both of your hat to protect you from the sunrays.
“Wait a little bit and you will see; the roots will grow black at first and it will soon be as usual.”
“Really?!”
Three days later, his hair was green, courtesy of the twins giving you ideas.
2nd part: It is not natural.
Well, we could just say, it’s the power of something that made it like this bla bla bla (well, I mean it’s the author who chooses).
But nah, it’s no fun if we do not make theories! Because the world is… *whisper* conspiracy. Let’s forget the wig too for now.
Well, let’s start with something basic: it’s simply dyed.
Maybe the characters just thought it was cool to have them dyes like that and this could work for a lot of them, even in the less recent times as people started to dye their hair even 1500 BC. 300 BC prostitutes in the Roman Empire already dyed their hair blond too, using ashes of burned plants or nuts and in 2014 artificial-looking hair color became a trend! (https://www.byrdie.com/hair-color-history)
Exemple : Yashiro Nene, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun
Nene-chan obviously is a hopelessly romantic teenager, and I am sure that she wants to follow trends just like she wants a boyfriend for the sake of, well, having a relationship at the beginning of the story.
So, pretty sure that with Aoi’s influence (she has the real power… help) they decided to dye the tip of her hair green in middle school.
(psst, PS: Aoi also tried to dye one strand green but her hairs were too dark, we can only distinguish the color when focusing)
(re psst: Akane directly noticed it).
Okay, a little funnier now. It’s because of an experimental failure, so a new kind of chemicals.
Example: Ishigami Senku, Dr Stone
So, we know that he is a science nerd. And we know that he experiments a lot. Let’s just imagine mini-Senku, seeing his father and wondering why the hell does he resemble a radish?
Then, mini-Senku trying to synthesize a greenish hair dye (because he wants to look like a leek), but failing, not because it doesn’t take the color, but because it stays.
Do you know what’s even funnier? He failed it when he was young, like ridiculously young (he is in first grade here, so 6/7 years old and already a fan).
So just imagine 5/6 years old Senku, just having his hair up and green one day and he understands that they will always be like this.
It’s due to their power <3
Maybe kind of a side-effect of their power, we could think of Todoroki (Shoto) whose fire side have red hair and white in the ice side, so simply a cool consequence of cool powers.
Example: Akugatawa Ryuunosuke, Bungo Stray Dogs
Okay, so this is cannon, I’ve decided so. We all know he was poor, but like slums poor so he could just not afford to buy hair dye also there is no point in doing so.
BUT! During one of his fight, it happened. Rashomon ate the melanin at the tip of his hair. And since then, he decided it was cool and will keep it like this forever.
Scenarios! (・ω<)☆
“A-are you sure it’s like that?”
“Of course, it is, just trust me Nene-chan~”
They were clearly messing things up. The shower curtain laid there, ripped off its place, soppy and stained green at some places.
The sink, crowded with various face products, hair accessories, nail polish and a myriad of different-colored eyeshadows from just as much different pallets. Clothes lingered on the floor, creating little mountains of fabric and you were wise enough to avoid stepping on one in fear of being stabbed by a lost hairpin.
In the middle—rather the left corner—of this mess stood your two friends, the stool having been knocked off by a panicked Nene made you worry about her tripping on it. Facing her was a smiling Aoi hands stuck on too-big plastic gloves and a bottle of hair dye in her hands.
“I thought I told you both to wait for me,” you sighed. “Here Aoi-chan, gimme the bottle and the gloves. Nene-chan, catch this.”
You threw your package to her, which she missed, and the cloth unfolded revealing the cape you borrowed from your father’ barber shop. You hanged the curtain up again and went back to the now wearing the cape Nene— you just named teepee-Nene.
You slipped on the gloves and verified the mixture they prepared. Deeming it good and usable, you began to separate the strands of Nene’s hair, clipping some up and untangling some burdensome ones.
Then, as she already applied the protecting product, you began to spread the dye on her tips, visualizing the lovely ombré she wanted.
From the corner of your eyes, you noticed Aoi growing bored by each new stroke of brush.
“Do you want have a dyed strand too? Though it could not take well because of the color and the washing you just did,” you offered.
“Yes!” she eagerly accepted, immediately pointing at a random point on her head. “Plus, we can trust you at one hundred percent!”
“Of course,” you chuckled, “I am used to do this.”
“You did most of your colors by yourself, yeah?” Nene asked.
“Yup,” you confirmed. “But my parents were okay with it, were almost encouraging me to do so, bleh. Contrary to some middle-schoolers I know.”
You yelped, escaping from Aoi’s traitor finger that just poked your side. Nene grinned, “Well, as miss high-school first year helped us, you are an accomplice. Don’t think you can escape being punished with us, (Y/n).”
Shaking your head, you went back to her, lightly pinching her arm through the cape and focusing on your task with the girls’ chatting serving as your background noise.
_____________________
“We should dye your hair too, (Y/n)!” The girls’ eyes sparkled.
“No do so kids.” You discarded the dye bottle in your hand. “The dye doesn’t work anymore, should have requested this sooner.” Ignoring their complains, you walked out of the bathroom, walking to the kitchen for some snacks.
It was an ordinary day at the Ishigami household. Byakuya had checked his list, little shoes at the entrance, check. Clean living room and table, check. A walking Senku-sized mop, check. Groceries for dinner, check.
Byakuya turned around, checking again. Ah, he forgot the yogurts. Would it be weird to go back to the convenience store? They could skip yogurts for once, it wasn’t essential. What was important, however…
“Senku!! What happened to your head?!” He dashed to his son, grabbing his shoulders. “Did you get hurt? Wait you didn’t actually dive into a suspicious liquid right?” He paused. Then thought. He stared at him. “No, even if you want to test something you can’t just bath in it.”
Senku stared right back at him. And bonked his head.
“No I didn’t, I’m not stupid,” he reassured his father. “It’s hair dye,” he pointed out.
“Aah, I see…” He patted his hair before standing up. And tossed the child on his shoulder while ordering, “We are going to wash it away, immediately.”
_____________________
It wasn’t right. It didn’t go away.
“Why is it still stuck?!”
“I don’t know!! But stop, I’m going bald!! Help! He is trying to age a child! Human experiment!”
“I’m not, it doesn’t want t-oh, it’s disappearing.” Indeed, the water was now tinted a green color after streaming through Senku’s hair.
Byakuya sighed in relief. “Luckily it’s going away,” he started, “though it’s seems the tips already took the color in.”
Head down, Senku wrung out his hair and broke in a smile while confirming by himself Byakuya’s affirmation. “Yeah, I started by dyeing them first. Wanted to look like you.”
Byakuya froze. ‘He wanted to look like me?’ He glanced at his reflection. ‘I do have two hair colors.’ He grabbed a towel and spoke, “But you know, it’s not good to dye your hair this young. Come here, I’m gonna dry them.”
The child’s hairs were still thin, but the long strands would thicken later with no doubts. Byakuya was wary of his own strength too, as a child’s head remained fragile looking, Senku was still five after all. But this wouldn’t prevent him to mess with it a little bit.
Taking the hairdryer and a hair comb, he disentangled some knots here and there, added hair wax at each strand he lifted up until they were all up and with a radish-like form except from a tiny seaweed at the front.
“Tada! Here is my masterpiece. Keep it will you?” He ran away. “I’m going to the convenience store; I forgot the yogurts!” he shouted. “Tidy the bathroom up for now, thanks!"
_____________________
“What they didn’t know though,” the narrator started, “is that the chemicals would keep him looking like that, proudly wearing the same hairstyle 3,700 years later, a unique hairstyle, a relic from the modern era they knew.”
Akugatawa was in a dire situation. A kind of situation he had been in plenty of times but could be the last one he lived through just like all the other ones.
The enemy was strong, not physically exceptional, but having grown enough muscles to defeat three or four kids like Akugatawa attacking him together.
It wouldn’t be a problem, for he was blessed with Rashomon, if only the man he was fighting wasn’t an ability user as well.
The worst, being that he didn’t underestimate him nor was he stupid as he cleverly used all the aspects of his ability, taking each openings Akugatawa dropped by inadvertence, creating numerous opportunities from them and further damaging the child’s body each time.
Akugatawa was certain now, that his enemy couldn’t be taken lightly and though it was pointless to ponder on this now, as he didn’t know if he would survive this fight, he was concerned on why someone this strong would be going after him.
The answer to his questioning could be a threat to his relative safety, as well as his sister’s and the other children’s.
He dodged, the outline of the shadow almost piercing through his head, its razor-sharp edges flaunting death in front of his eyes.
After many failures, he finally began to uncover the trick to resist the unknown ability. The man had been sending his shadow after him for some gruesome minutes now and Akugatawa recognized some patterns, his body learned to dodge and bend to escape even one blow.
But his knowledge stopped there, he couldn’t pinpoint how to stop the enemy, how the ability worked.
All kind of ability had some king of mechanism, he learned. His depended on his clothing as the beast was formed from it. If put naked in front of an enemy, he would be dead meat; separated from any kind of fabric he was just as vulnerable as he was as a newborn.
Yet, even when having Rashomon by his side he was struggling against the stronger, the more experienced ability user.
While the origin of the enemy’s weapon was his obviously shadow, he had no ideas how to make it disappear nor did he know how to stop the connection between the user and his shadow.
He blocked an attack—at least Rashomon could touch it—and the beast’s fangs tore through the black foggy blade making a bee line to the enemy’s neck.
From under him, the man defended himself. This action cost him his life as Akugatawa found his long-awaited solution.
Another attack, not from the ground—he learned that when closer to him, the enemy could raise his shadow as he wanted—but from above him.
He lifted his head; the tip dangerously close to him.
It allowed Rashomon to successfully break the crystal hidden underneath the layers of shadow, the blade shattering apart the moment the crystal was damaged.
Now that he found out the way to get rid of him, Akugatawa could unleash his beast and let it freely destroy the destabilized enemy in front of him.
_____________________
The enemy was gone and Akugatawa staggered to his home, the distance being longer than what he recalled. Having reached the entrance, he collapsed on the ground after seeing his sister quietly waiting for his return.
He woke up some hours later, the night had installed itself in the sky.
Something was strange however, as his sister was staring at him, eyes sparkling. He wondered why until she pointed at a strand of her hair that was framing her face and taking it, pushing him to mirror her actions with his own.
Indeed, where the black melanin was supposed to be, was now hairs devoid of color and white like an old man’s. His gaze trailed up to find out only the tip lost its color, the pattern where the colors met looking like sharp teeth.
“Big brother,” Gin started, “could you do the same for me? I want white tips too! And you must do the same at the other side, it would be prettier if it symmetrical.”
Did his sister just ask him to chomp her with Rashomon?
Bonus: Zenin Naoya <3<3<3, new technique
Hang him head down.
First, you lure him into the garden, being a submissive, obedient and sweet wife, you want your dear husband who is finally at home to relax and you have prepared a surprise for him <3
So, you lead him to the garden, where you prepared a magnificent, grandiose gallows!
Not understanding the reason why it’s here but being arrogant enough for at least a hundred men; he asks his silly wife why something so grotesque was in the garden she adored to take care of
You smile sweetly and lean in to kiss him (him allowing you to do so of course, you couldn’t do this if he was not spoiling you but he was really good with you), wrapping your arms around his neck
Then, you let go of his neck, watching him slowly fall back.
“Oh, dear!” You chuckle after hearing the loud bang his head produced after kissing the ground
You grab the collar of his cloth with one hand, the other one patting the back of his head, fingers finally grazing the little bump, consequence of his fall.
You slam it. (´꒳`)♡
Then you drag him behind you, playing a little bit among the moist grass and zigzagging to admire the pretty flowers you took care of during all the times you had an affair with boredom behind your husband’s back.
1st step. You tightly tie the rope around Naoya’s feet, slipping his sandals in his trouser for him to be able to find them later, how thoughtful you are
2nd step. You get the basin you already prepared and then, you pour the hair dye inside of it
3rd step. You use your delicate arms to lift him up, pulling on the rope with the mechanism you prepared, only do this now or he could die from having too much blood going to his head. Again, you are a model for all wives with your thoughtfulness.
4th step. Let the tip of his hair soak in the hair dye and you can even use it to decorate your husband’s clothes ( ´ ▽ ` )
5th step. Let him dry here, he will take the dye in and have beautiful hair tips. When he wakes up, he won’t be calling the servants because of his pride but then take a little time to come off the gallows. And then, he will be so thankful towards his wife he might want to kill you without ever divorcing! (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)
But you leave the garden before he wakes up, you want to surprise him.
You take your luggage, join the man/woman (dear boredom) you are actually having an affair with and get out of the house. You want him to fully experience his marriage after all, you will offer him the experience of being cucked.( ◡‿◡ *)

How to Style an Oversized T-shirt for Men | 2024
However, even though these pieces have long been part of fashion culture, some individuals still struggle with how to style or wear an oversized t-shirt correctly. If this article resonates with you then perhaps some tips would help create the desired look!
Fashion has recently taken an unexpected path – sometimes all works, while at other times not everything will resonate well with an audience.
While oversized anime tees in India may be in fashion right now, don’t go buying clothing that is bigger in size than your own size – instead opt for apparel designed and cut specifically to your size that meets this criteria and this doesn’t equate to wearing larger-sized apparel! If you have questions on how to style baggy anime tshirts or what can make an oversized shirt stylish then continue reading – here you will get all your answers.
Oversized T-Shirt with Check Shirt
This look works especially well in colder climates. Wear your oversized T-shirt over regular fitted jeans and layer it with a checkered shirt for a stylish and comfy outfit, ideal for lunching out with friends, dates, or simply exploring. Complete the look by adding ankle-high sneakers and sunglasses – and remember to experiment with different colors or plaid styles of shirt until you achieve an astonishing final outcome!
Denim Jacket for The Win
theotakuclub offers another way of styling an oversized T-shirt: pairing it with a classic denim jacket. This will add structure while still maintaining chicness; for formal events you could tuck it in and pair the jacket over top for added sophistication – nothing beats classic denim and white T-shirt combo!
Ezoic
Keep It Edgy
Stripes don’t just work in bottoms… If you own a long-sleeved striped T-shirt, layer it with another solid T-shirt of matching color to create an eye-catching and edgy look. Pair this look with black jeans, white sneakers, silver jewelry and even add a fanny pack for an ultra cool ensemble!

Any cool small businesses in your area? So many. Metro Manila is generally quite a small area so it opens up a lot of room for small businesses to thrive and not be eaten up by bigger companies. People in my age group are also more likely to check out small businesses, so it’s served as fuel for more and more to pop up. My favorite would be the bar that my college friends and I regularly went to before lockdown, it’s called Tomato Kick but we all call it TK. I also used to go to this shop called The Common Room that sold all sorts of stickers, stationery, knickknacks, plants, oils, etc. but unfortunately they’ve permanently closed due to the pandemic :(
If you use libraries, what is the largest overdue fine you've ever had? Something like ₱300-₱400. The overdue fine in my school was like ₱2/day though, so do the math and you’ll figure out just how long I didn’t return my books loooool, it was pretty much unreturned for the entire school year. I’ll never forget how surprised the librarian looked when she computed my total fees lol.
Do you ever borrow things other than books from the library? I don’t think so. I definitely should have made the most of our college’s library though - they let us borrow old and classic films, and I just never availed of those services.
Are there still any movie rental places left where you live? No, pretty sure everyone here is all over Netflix now.
Do you ever buy secondhand books (or DVDs, video games, CDs)? Or do you prefer them to be brand new? Of course. The smell of a brand new book is always nice, but it’s SO satisfying to see something you really like at a secondhand goods shop and see that it costs 1/3 or 1/4 its original price. I’ve had awesome finds at used book stores.
Have you seen the version of The Addams Family with Tim Curry as Gomez? No, I’ve never seen any versions of it.
What was the last TV show you were hooked on? THE CROWNNNNN. I haven’t been able to continue it for around a month now because I’ve been stressed and depressed, but goddamn is it a good show.
Have you ever started a book and never finished it? So many times. I have more unfinished books than ones I was able to read all the way through.
Do you have a favorite drummer? Who? I don’t have a favorite but watching Whiplash did get me so amazed by Buddy Rich.
What about a favorite guitarist? Who? No favorite either, but I’m biased towards Lita Ford’s guitar work with The Runaways.
Do you ever write fanfic? Of what? I used to write them when I was 12...they were all very bad. I’m cringing just thinking back to it lmao. That was the one venture I needed to try to know I wasn’t cut out for fiction writing.
Do you ever READ fanfic? Of what? Tons. I mostly read ones of my wrestling ships, especially CM Punk and AJ Lee back when they were a couple on-screen.
Do you have a favorite poet? Not into poetry, so I don’t have a favorite. I do love my girlfriend’s poems though. She gets poetry bursts very rarely but when she pens one, they are always very nice to read.
How many members are in the last band you listened to? Three at the moment. They used to have five, then three, then two, then one, then now three.
Do you have a favorite classical composer? I do not.
Do you ever accidentally clip your toenails too short and they hurt? Just a couple of times, but it’s a big reason why I stopped trying to cut them too short.
Have you ever had multicolored/rainbow hair? If not, would you ever want it? No, and no. I’m okay with dyeing my hair but I really prefer to have it in just one color.
What kind of hats, if any, do you like to wear? Beanies, caps, and sun hats.
Have you ever thought somebody was cute but no longer found them attractive once you got to know them better? What specifically about them turned you off? This is gonna be such a mean thing to say now considering the circumstances lol but I remember when my friends and I were all still new applicants for our org, we found Nacho super attractive (he really was, objectively speaking) but he was always too awkward when at a table with us and initially came off as a lousy conversation-er. I specifically remember how that turned me and Jo off. Now I miss him a lot and would do anything to see that mug again.
Have you ever thought somebody was plain-looking, but found them attractive once you got to know them better? What specifically about them made them so beautiful? It’s happened here and there. A common trait of them all is that they’re all very good speakers and are able to speak their mind eloquently and intelligently, especially when standing up for their opinion or beliefs.
What is your #1 dealbreaker with friendships? (Why you wouldn't be friends) Betrayal of trust.
Who is your favorite character on Bob's Burgers and why? (If you watch it) I don’t watch it.
What songs do you never get tired of? Paramore’s ;)
Have you ever had a retro celebrity crush? Like a crush on an "old" celebrity who was most famous a long time ago or is long dead? Lol yes, a bunch of them...anyone who’s followed me for a while would know. I’m really into Audrey Hepburn, Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Joan Crawford, Olivia de Havilland, Greta Garbo, Cary Grant, and Gregory Peck.
Before buying something in a store, do you look online to see if you can get it cheaper there? Not usually. I don’t shop online, so.
What type of things do you prefer to purchase online? It’s not a question of the type of thing I’m buying, but if I’m purchasing something online it’s largely because I don’t have anyone to buy it with at a physical store at the moment, and I hate going to the mall by myself.
Are you interested in fashion? Not so much. I keep up with the trends in my age group and like being updated with new shoe lines from my favorite brands and such, but I don’t watch fashion shows or know the name of all models.
Do you prefer beef or chicken tacos? I don’t really like tacos, period. I don’t even know what’s the standard meat in them...I guess I’ll go with beef, I know I love them in my burritos.
Have you ever tried fish tacos? How were they? I haven’t. I dunno how to feel about it honestly; my Filipino palate’s only ever had fish in stews, with rice, or in sushi. But I know it’s popular in other parts of the world so I guess fish tacos are good too.
Have you ever worn leather (or imitation leather) pants? No. That sounds highly uncomfortable, and I’m just reminded of that episode of Friends where Ross wore leather pants as part of his new year’s resolution lol.
What part of your body seems to get cold the most? I normally don’t feel cold in certain parts of my body. If I’m cold, my entire body is.
What do you like better, pants or shorts? Shorts. Pants are only nice if they’re high-waisted mom jeans, but in this climate I mostly find them uncomfortable covering my entire legs.
Have you ever wished you had a different eye color? Sometimes, but through the years I’ve learned to embrace my dark brown eyes.
Do you know anybody with two different colored eyes? Yes.

#FORWHAT (Part 2)
As mentioned in the Part 1 post, it runs as an interactive social media campaign. The concept of the campaign is to turn it into a competition / giveaway of sorts, getting the customers to fill in the blanks on their own with positive things that they want to MOVE for.
It would mainly take place on social media platforms such as Instagram (@asicsmalaysia) and Facebook (ASICS / ASICS Running Club Malaysia). Each post would consist of 3 visuals from ASICS - the thumbnail (Visual 1), the fill in the blank (Visual 2), and the recommended shoe and beneficial factors of said shoe (Visual 3).
For example, the visual would be “RUN FOR ___” and the customers would then have to fill in the blanks with their answer, and share their story/journey. After that, they would have to repost it on their social media with the #FORWHAT and tag @asicsmalaysia in order to submit their response. The people with the best caption and story would then be chosen to win the specified pair of shoes that have been recommended for that particular activity. The shoe recommendation also serves a second purpose, which is to inform all who see it about the qualities and benefits of the shoes. This would mean that, even if someone doesn’t win the giveaway, they could potentially go and purchase a pair for themselves because of the built up “hype/desire” towards trying to win the shoe.
But overall, this campaign allows the #FORWHAT movement to be one that moves towards nation-wide betterment. In other words, it also gets people to share their stories and inspire other Malaysians.

SOCIAL MEDIA VISUAL 2
SOCIAL MEDIA VISUAL 3
Note: The original images used in the social media visuals (without text or logo) were sourced from ASICS.
CRITS
Amanda Chan:
For visual 1C, the shadow of the text and the human is different (different lighting and different slant position). Be more cautious of the lighting and shadow angles in future. The designs for visuals 2 and 3 are generally alright, but they do look a bit plain. The first image is okay, but second image looks somewhat undone/incomplete, as though there’s something missing.
Eunice Loke:
The campaign seems as though it’s in different pieces and is lacking cohesiveness. Be cautious of the positioning of the campaign, because it would be dependent on the type of image they’re trying to put forward (for athletics, for leisure, etc). The intent of the campaign is good, but the “wellness” aspect doesn’t shine through the flashy visuals. The idea is there, but it needs refining.
Chynna:
Specify which social media platforms you want to use and help people understand it by creating mock-ups of the post on social media (this is because captions will help to boost the understanding / clarity of the direction that you want to take).
The images have been treated well – the title of the campaign hidden in the shadows looks nice (in the posters and social media visuals). A suggestion would have been to try playing with typography (some of the titles were upright, but it was suggested that they be made italic in order to show movement). As for the informative part of the social media visuals, the attention grabbing part of the message should be made to stand out (WIN A PAIR OF FREE SHOES etc).
Sarah Ann Toolseram:
When doing a real campaign in the future, consider the costs. Shoes being given away like that would result in very high costs. Besides that, the shadow in visual 1C is a bit off.
Basil Cha:
Love the idea of localization. Feels like it could be a very exciting campaign, but it feels too safe/normal still. Look at brands that are super strong on branding (Nike!! <- cannot emphasize this one more, Adidas, etc.). Also, just be clear on where you want to bring your audience to, in terms of campaign direction. I really like the idea of #ForWhat. I can imagine like a video ad of people like saying, “This one for what ah” “For what wan” and then ending with “For anything you want to be” or something along those lines.
Visuals are clean/not trying too hard, but I think there needs to be a bit more trying The #ForWhat copy is really cool, the idea of moving with purpose, etc. and I think it’s also a very challenging statement when Malaysians say “For what” and I think sport brands always push that kind of attitude whether it’s about challenging the norms, etc.
There also shouldn’t be too many words on a social media post. Things you can consider are creating a mockup of an Instagram post, where you can actually type in a caption so your design is in the context of a description, etc.
Damien Chung:
I think your idea is pretty good, as in it does give people the idea of what a shoe does, and that it's not just for style and looks, but it's functionality as well for the user. I think for the interactive part, judging from my experience right, these kind of shoes or brands actually have a very niche market. Especially Asics, which has marketed itself to be a sportswear brand, but branching out slowly into lifestyle.
So, I'm not sure if your assignment has anything to do with targeting groups on FB or some sorts. This can't be organic, it has to be boosted unless you have a face of an influencer in your visual that everyone knows and are a fan of, which would generate more engagement for the campaign. If this were to be an organic post, your organic reach would be very little, since the market is niche. The mechanics are great, which is to increase the shares. I was thinking of who is the one that would recommend the specific shoe for the winner or whoever the other participants are. The downside of it is that, what is recommended may not be what the users want, and opinion varies, so that's something we need to think about la. Perhaps you could also include like a voucher or a code for whoever that joined the contest (include a cap of course) to make people buy it rather than just finding out the type of shoes recommended for their activity, increasing the conversation rate.
The visuals used are great! But I think social media visual 2 and 3 can be less DI and more organic like your other visuals, it's more visually appealing than a blue background. Overall I like the idea! I might use it for my work too (haha).
Another thing to take note off, visuals that feature people are bound to get more attention yea. Or any big brands like Nike or Adidas, that would work well. So when your visual features someone, make sure it's someone relatable and you would know. Even if don't know, local would be good also.
Yaeber Neo:
Campaign as a whole has lack of a big idea. As a consumer, I’m not too sure what the campaign is about. What’s the movement about, what’s the key message, why should we join the movement? It’s very easy for people to turn it around and say join the movement for what? You’ll probably need something else to kickstart or introduce the campaign. For example, put together snippets of different athletes or influencers telling their own story of what they move for and why. Then it would carry forward better to Part 2 of the campaign where you focus on social engagement. Part 2 of the campaign could look at more recent trends on Social Media. TikTok for example encourages lots of movement where people do dance covers etc. See how you can leverage on that. Could Asics have their own song and dance challenge?
Felicia Lee:
Maybe this could kickstart by involving stories of day to day people. For example, the way Humans of New York portray stories of people. Story of a struggling modern dancer or an athlete. Then, followed by the audience to fill in the blanks.
Ida Chong:
The social media visuals are generally pretty good and have a sporty feel to them. It makes you feel like exercising because there is movement in the image. The masking and effects applied to the visuals are good as well. However it needs to connect more, in terms of the entirety of the 3 social media posts. This is because the thumbnail image doesn’t really connect with visuals 2 and 3 (probably because they are VERY blue). If the blue is still intended to be used to to it being the company’s colour, then perhaps it could be used as an overlay with another image or colour. Besides that, you should also take note that if the placement and words are simple then the background needs to have more happening.
Annabelle Foo:
I think the play on words here really added a catchy/playful touch to the messaging since it’s something you hear quite frequently, and it still followed through in reminding people why they do what they do. But also if the first phase begins with #ForWhat, it could be a bit difficult for people to translate that messaging right away. I think there’s a really good potential build-up here before #ForWhat comes in, maybe you could tap into how everyone has a different why to what they do and it may look really drastic but I think it’d be good to capture those differences at the start before establishing #ForWhat? Design could be a bit more cohesive in terms of typography style/placement, but visuals still eye-catching and clean!

Pro tips for passing
If your family is ok with you shopping in the “boy’s” section head there!
If your family needs a little convincing try using excuses like; “it’s more comfortable” “the pants actually have pockets” “I like the colors better” say it’s a new “trend” or that you are on a dare etc.I often would go through the “woman’s” section for a little and then go to the men’s with the excuse of “wanting to see other styles”.
When ordering clothes from online, go with excuses like “There are more options here” “there are better deals” or “it’s easier”. When the clothes comes say it’s “woman’s” clothes (they have no proof its not), or go with some sort of the excuse from my points above. You can also say “so and so got this for me and I dont want to be rude, or so and so’s brother was throwing out some clothes and you thought, why waste?”
If you are comfortable in the “woman’s” section or if you can’t shop in the “men’s” you might need to be a little more creative. I know alot of us like really loose clothes, maybe 2 sizes bigger and possibly a hoodie over that. Over sized clothes can help hide curves or areas of our bodies that we dont want to be seen.
However if you are comfortable with tighter fitting clothing, then I recommend clothes that are your size. I personally go for smalls, because they fit me best, but when I was still binding it was using medium or large. Find a shirt that you like and makes you feel masculine in the way you want. I found plain solid colors with a high collar work best for me, but I have friends who prefer lower cut shirts with a pocket on the chest.
If you are wearing a binder be cautious of lighter fabrics like white, pale pink or yellow. They can sometimes be see through. Adding a jacket but leaving it unbuttoned and or throwing on a scarf can help. Also a shirt made of a thicker material or an alternating pattern can help it be less obvious.
Remember that a shirt that fits you well might not fit as nicely with your binder on. If that’s the case try going one size up.
Genes and cargo make for a pretty gender neutral look, but I recommend getting your skinny genes from the “boy’s” section (if you buy online this one is a really easy lie). “Girl’s” genes tend to be cut in a way that society currently perceives as more feminine. Personally I hated “woman’s” pants, they were way too tight and had no pockets. But if you are cool with them then get the pair you feel best in.
If you want more space between your legs I’d recommend going for loser pants or high wasted ones and sagging them. If you buy a size too big you can tighten it with a belt and have a good amount of room down there.
I think this gets over looked alot but if you are a guy who likes feminine things....Than wear them! Try out different styles and different looks.
When accessorizing see what jewelry is sold in the men’s section and then try to either replicate it or buy some. Watches, leather bracelets, stud earnings, shell or shark tooth necklaces are all typical things, but dont be afraid to get creative with it! Google search “men’s jewelry” or scan through amazon.
If there is something you like from the “woman’s section. You can still wear it!! If you are having trouble feeling comfortable in it, try to picture it on a guy you think is attractive or on your favorite fashion icon / igbt icon. If that’s not working make up an OC and try the outfit out on them first. I know I often struggled bc I felt like I could be comfortable wearing what I wanted- for example dresses. If that’s the case for you, dont let it stop you from buying them! They arent going to expire like cabbage would and if you end up regretting the purchase, feel free to sell it second hand or gift it to a friend. I now have several dresses that make me happy, even if I can’t go out of the house in them yet.
If you ever get caught with something “obviously not for your gender blah blah” play it off as a gift form a friend or relative. “I had a bet with Alex and lost this was the outcome lol.” Whatever you do play it off as casual as possible. If you seem scared or nervous that makes the situation worse. You can be nervous in a “uhhhgh im embarrassed” kind of way, but try not to seem like “they found something out.”
If you have long hair and want shorter, try putting your hair up in a ponytail, and try putting it under a cap or Bennie, let the end of your pony tail hang over your forehead so it looks like bangs.

Little Mix Inspired Pride Festival Outfits
Leigh
Boohoo High Neck Net Mesh Crop Top: £8. So with Leigh we decided to go down the urban/retro route. I did want to go with her top and skirt again but I thought that was repeating myself and I wanted to go with something new. So I dug up this white cropped mesh top, She has been seen in one before from Topshop which is now sold out. These mesh tops are everyone's favourite in the summer time especially at festivals. You can get them in a array of colours and style. Great for layering too.
Calvin Klein modern cotton bralette: £29. The top is see through, So we don`t want everyone seeing your nipples now do we. Although I think at Pride that is pretty normal. So to keep your dignity we placed a bralet underneath the top. This is perfectly normal and layering is on trend now too. I do find the girls often like showing their brands on clothes such as Balenciaga, Calvin Klein etc. If you`r e not keen on having Calvin Klein I have a alternative here. And remember if you`re getting too or stuffy and uncomfortable you can always take the mesh top off.
Topshop PETITE Denim Mini Skirt: £29 £23.30. As I do with most of my inspireds I wanted to do a variety of clothing from jeans, to skirts to dungarees to dresses. So with Leigh I decided to go with a denim skirt, Mostly inspired by a recent magazine photo shoot. Nonetheless she has been spotted wearing a denim skirt on holiday too. We decided to go with a high waisted one which will make your tummy look smaller. You`re going to be standing/walking around all day underneath a hot basking sun and you don`t wanna feel uncomfortable or sticky, You would want to feel fresh and cool.
ZARA CONTRAST MESH SNEAKERS: £22.99. Now as we all know the girls have a selection of Designer trainers that none of us can afford, From the ugly to the beautiful. The high street capitalises on this and makes much cheaper dupes of those designer brands so you don`t have to fork out much more then you should. We picked up these retro trainers from Zara. If you`re not a fan of the colours then why not go for a all white shoe from here
Perrie
Boohoo Pride T-Shirt With Love Without Limits Print: £12. Perrie was a little harder for me but we manage to rustle something up. So I find Perrie likes a quote or two, She likes things that have deeper meanings and truthful solace. We picked up this Pride t-shirt from Boohoo with the words Love Without Limits and i`m not gonna lie I think that basically describes her relationship with Alex. What`s more is that men can also wear this too.
Topshop Bleach Mom Jeans: £40. Oh boy does Perrie love a mom jean, She doesn`t often go for HS mom jeans anymore though, She often likes sticking to her favourite Balenciaga mom jeans which are yet again out of everyone's price range. So we picked up this pair from Topshop. Remember to think of factors such as price, comfort, how often you will wear them and style when you decide on a expensive pair of jeans.
Topshop Conch Shell Necklace: £10. I find Perrie likes adding a extra accessory to her outfits, It doesn`t have to match she will just add it on. These shell necklaces are all the craze at the moment from earrings to bracelets.
River Island Gold tone square aviator sunglasses: £14
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star hi white sneakers: $60. As I mentioned before you are standing around all day, So you would want to have good sensible shoes to help your feet. Which makes this option perfect.
Jade
Topshop Roll Mom Denim Shorts: £32. Jade`s was the most easiest I am not gonna lie, Purely because she`s been to a Pride festival before. But we took inspiration from that and put it into here and we incorporated a pair of denim roll up shorts.
PRETTYLITTLETHING UNISEX WHITE EQUAL OVERSIZED T-SHIRT: £8. Now I often find Jade loves promoting anything, She loves promoting small brands, She has a shirt from her recent holiday in Thailand promoting the Elephant sanctuary and the LGBT Scene is no exception. So we picked up this powerful top from PLT. Now it doesn`t have to be cropped, it can come in a longer version too and in black. But what better way to get the message across other then a shirt like this?
PRETTYLITTLETHING THE GYPSY SHRINE PRIDE RAINBOW ALL IN ONE FACE JEWEL: £10. Jade likes getting herself involved in activities too and she is often the one who forfeits herself for things. So why not add a bit of jewels to your look to give it that bit of jazz. You can get also get it in another design here
MISSPAP hattie black slogan cap: £12. I`ve noticed Miss Thirlwall loves a slogan, Especially on a cap. She often goes for rude ones but we can`t have that. So we went for this one which we think does just as much as a rude one does. Make sure you`re well protected against the sun and keep yourself cool and hydrated and you can do this by wearing this hat.
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star hi white sneakers: $60
Jesy
Boohoo Boyfriend Denim Dungarees: £22.40. Last but not least Jesy!. I took inspiration from a appearance she did at BBCR1 where she wore baggy dungarees. These are baggy, These are more fitted to your body, Not fitted so that you feel uncomfortable but fitted so you don`t look like a hot mess. Out of the options we have on offer today Jesy`s is my favourite outfit. You can also style this outfit up by unhooking one of the clips on the shoulder and you`ll see why in a moment.
ASOS DESIGN co-ord one shoulder crop top in neon yellow: £10. We thought it would be a great idea to add a crop top underneath the dungarees to give the outfit a retro/urban kind of feel. This neon top will definitely make you stand out against the sun. Since it`s a one shoulder it would be a idea to unhook one of the clips to show the top off more.
MissGuided white chunky sole platform trainers: £35. Jesy has recently been into big platform boots, They arent to everyone's taste and lets be real they arent exactly in everyone`s price range. But we didn`t need to fork out £100 to buy the exact pair. All you need to pay is £35 for a pair from MissGuided. They look exactly the same and do the exact same job. This adds the retro feel to this outfit..
Adidas Originals Adicolor Bucket Hat: £22. Again we`re playing with the retro feel here by adding this bucket hat, Which by the way has been a big craze lately.
PRETTYLITTLETHING GOLD DIAMANTE DOLLAR SIGN AND DISC MULTI-LAYER NECKLACE: £8 £6. I decided to add this in at the last minute as I felt as though the neck area would look a little plain and since we`re going for a retro feel here we may as well play with that. Jesy likes statement necklaces, She likes rude and bad necklaces. The nearest we could find to that was this necklace from PLT. It`s also layered but layered necklaces are the new thing have you not heard?
Big Thank You to Alicja for helping me
