i know i've been very culty on here about period underwear and reusable period products in general whenever i've brought up the topic in the last year or so but i mean it sincerely. i have never spent my money on a product that just simply improved my life so much. game-changing isn't even the beginning of it. i look forward to how much better my periods are now since i no longer have to depend on gross disposables. period underwear is the shit

not odd at all it's totally normal to talk about menstrual products whenever you feel like :) i personally use honeypot (organic) tampons (if you're still looking for disposables!) but I'm sure women will have reusable pad recs for you on this post. There's so many options now!

i have period underwear and mine are basically boxer briefs and wowie theyre so comfortable and nice. its just the right amount of compression and it has me debating on buying regular boxer briefs to wear cause i like them way more.

OHHHH wait do you have the thinx ones? I have heard mixed reviews about those but honestly I wanna try them out

Hi..I hope this isn't a way too personal question, but I just got a notification about the period product poll and your tags mention period underwear...I've been wanting to switch to it for a while but don't know of any brand that is good, or even were to buy them. i personally wear neiones (you can also find them on amazon) i have an average/light flow most days so they work very well and i only rly need to wear a pad as additional protection on the first day (that’s just an issue of my flow tho lol) and even then. no leakage. they’re also a p fair price for a pack of five! they’ve paid for themselves already at this point

i’ve heard good things frm a friend about thinx if you have a heavier flow (this leans more expensive for 1 pair of undies 🫡)

&& i know tomboyx sells period underwear! i can’t personally attest to these but tomboyx is a brand i trust (& they’re queer owned!) but poking around i saw a lot of sizes sold out rn though 😭

those are all off the top of my head!! all of these brands are size inclusive (tomboyx i believe goes up to 6x!) and come in a decent range of styles too!! i hope these help out 🥺🩷

ALSO- before I was on my current birth control that stopped my periods, I was an avid user of Period underwear and I LOVE them. I would even wear them sometimes when im not on my period. Favorites were Wuka, Aisle, and THINX. Those at least were the best absorbancy.

And I would get max absorbancy even for light periods. It just helps to have the safety.

When I did have to use disposables, Cora pads were easy to buy, find, are comfy, and are free of toxins.

For all my followers who bleed roughly once a month- period underwear is amazing. Compared to tampons and pads, no need to repeatedly buy new packages (you can buy one or a few pairs and be set), no need to constantly replace them because they last so long, and most importantly, they're a reusable solution without having to have something inside you. Stellar. Amazing. Great work.

I'm using Thinx, I bought them on a whim at work because I realized my period was overdue and I needed something in case my birth control didn't stop them. So far my only complaint is that it seems the only pairs available in stores (at least my store) is a tight bikini design. I'm a hater of tight undies and especially if they sit in that groove between your stomach and leg, ew. They do offer different styles on their website, but their only real boxer-style offering is absurdly expensive and just amounts to shorts with a pair of their bikini style underwear stitched inside. They do have more gender neutral/masculine designs, though, which I'll probably be getting.

Friendly reminder that the brand of period underwear called Thinx has also been found to have PFAS ("forever chemicals," bad) in them. When the third party told them of their findings, Thinx asked them to not say anything.

They settled, and continue to say that it was "Never part of their design," but I do not trust them anymore.

I've started looking up brands with the term "PFAS" attached before buying. It's not foolproof, but it makes me feel a little better.

yes! thanks for bringing this up. the company sued was thinx, which thankfully ive never bought from! the company i've bought from is called aisle and i just looked it up to make sure- two independent companies researched their products and found no detectable levels of the harmful chemical (it's called pfas). but important to note to do your research when it comes to buying period products! (and that if you have used thinx products you can probably get a piece of the settlement)

I bought a pair of thinx period underwear out of curiosty and as soon as i have more money I'm buying at least 2 more pairs. I've never been this comfortable on my period ever. I haven't leaked, no hair pulling, no gross wet sticky feeling. Absolute fucking game changer. It feels like I'm just wearing normal underwear

I’ve started wearing depends adult diapers during my period and oh my god I’m never wearing pads again in my life. I’ve never felt so comfortable and protected with leak coverage ever. Not to mention no unnecessary discomfort or sticking to skin/hair. May I add : menstrual panties. But NOT Thinx.

I can't do reusable pads because I'll have to change them at work (I'm out of my home for 16h+ a day) and I won't know what to do with the dirty pad. But I have Modibodi panties and they're so great. The heavy flow ones do hold up during all this time and having simply an underwear is easier for me. They require the same care : cold rinse then gentle washing cycle.

Beware : some brands have weird/dangerous chemicals in the liner for period proofing. I would advise against using them. It costs nothing to google the brand you're about to buy beforehand.

I use modibodi because I like their inclusive marketing, but it's a personal choice. The panties I have from them were bought 5 years ago and are merinos and bamboo. Full disclosure also : it does give you the impression of having a bulky thing between your legs. The liner is thick. It's normal because the blood has to go somewhere. And even if it's thick, I've always find it waaayyy more comfy than the sticky plastic feeling I used to have with disposable pads.

i learned that with the passage of the CARES Act, menstrual products are now considered eligible expenses for your health insurance, FSA, HSA, and HRA funds. (x)
