⋆。𖦹 °.🐚 ˖° a day at the beach with the Pines twins headcanons
author note: okay, this is kinda a “what if au” where Stan never got kicked out of home (Filbrick I hate you), meaning he and Ford stayed together in new jersey and grew there too
u can imagine Stan with his mullet and twins being like… i bet you seen those edited screenshots of them where they are young and look like cousins of Mabel and Dipper? IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN I’m so sorry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stan x reader x Ford, nsfw? (mostly it’s just wholesome and intimate but there’s mentions of sex still)
✧ Stan’s got you perched on his shoulders for a fight in the water and he’s talking shit the entire time, calling Ford “the human string bean” and yelling, “ya better hold on, sweetheart, ‘cause i ain’t lettin’ this nerd win! spoiler: Ford wins
✧ the three of you build a sandcastle, no, no really. because Stan and Ford argue over everything in the process. Ford wants it to have “structural integrity,” while Stan insists on making it look “badass.” somehow, it ends up being both, a tower with a moat and little seaweed flags that Stan claims are “pirate-approved!!!” you’re the judge, of course
✧ Stan steals your sun hat. just straight-up snatches it off your head and plops it on his, smirking at you. “whaddya think, doll? does it suit me?” and honestly it kinda does, but you’re not gonna tell him that. Ford’s the one who eventually grabs it back, muttering about “immature antics” while carefully placing it back on your head
✧ imagine playing with Ford’s hair as you lay next to him on the beach, getting your fingers tangled in his soft strands, the ocean breeze making it swirl a little. you’re leaning closer to his face next thing he does is pressing soft kisses to your wrist. Ford’s eyes are beautiful, so when he glances up at you, he looks like he’s asking for permission to take that next step. like he can’t wait to kiss you, but he’s waiting for you to make the first move
✧ sharing the towel with Stan and Ford after you’ve all been in the water. sand sticking to your skin, that salty taste all over your lips. Stan just drops his towel on top of yours, pulling you in close so you’re trapped between them. “ain’t no way I’m lettin’ ya get cold, pretty,” Stan’s hands are sliding up your legs, getting close to the waistband of your swimsuit bottoms. Ford’s fingers caress your skin, too, both of them deciding who gets to take you first. god, you could melt between them. it’s totally not because of the sun
✧ they challenge you to a volleyball match, and oh god, it’s a disaster. because Stan’s so competitive, diving for every ball and yelling, “yer gonna hafta do better than that, sixer!” while Ford tries to play by the actual rules. sadly, it ends with Stanley smacking ball right into Ford’s face with “oops”
✧ Ford’s got sunscreen smeared across his nose because he applied it so meticulously he missed the most obvious spot. Stan, being a little shit, doesn’t say a word until you point it out and that makes him die at his brother’s embarrassed reaction. Ford just says, “at least i won’t look like a lobster.”
✧ Stan teaches you how to skip stones. but “teaches” is a strong word because he mostly just shows off, throwing perfect skips and smirking at you every time yours plops straight into the water. “ain’t no shame in bein’ bad at it, sweetheart. not everyone can be as talented as me.” Ford, of course, chimes in with, “it’s all about the angle of release,” and then he decides to demonstrate, making it look annoyingly easy
✧ they both get weirdly protective when some random guy starts chatting you up. guess who’s first to speak and says “don’tcha got somewhere else to be, buddy?” ???
✧ IDK WHY BUT I JUST SEE IT HAPPENING. hear me out. Stan buys you ice cream from a cart on the boardwalk, but the bastard purposely gets himself the messiest one he can find, idk, like a triple scoop with chocolate drizzle and sprinkles AND GUESS WHAT? it’s melting faster than he can eat it, dripping all over his hands and chest. HAH SUCKER (sorry i love him sm) and if you’ll look at him, his chest especially, thinking he won’t notice, believe me he will, “whatcha lookin’ at, doll? ya wanna lick it off me or somethin’?”
✧ Ford’s way more methodical with his treat, carefully choosing something sensible like a popsicle. he tries to eat it while reading, holding his book with one hand and the other balancing the melting stick. but he’s a silly guy who doesn’t know what summer is, so his popsicle drips onto the page and Stan immediately makes fun of him for it
✧ more bout ice cream thing: it becomes like some kind of foreplay. Stan insists on buying you the biggest cone they have, all drippy and sweet, just so he can watch you try to eat it before it melts. “careful, baby,” as he messily licks a stray drop off your wrist. Ford doesn’t stop himself from leaning in to kiss the corner of your mouth, tasting the sweetness. by the time you’re done, the three of you are a mess of sugar and salt and heat
✧ at one point, Stan flops onto your towel, shaking sand everywhere. “hope ya don’t mind sharin’ with yer favorite guy,” he says, throwing an arm around your shoulders. however Ford tries to protest, pointing out that there are plenty of other towels, but his brother just smirks and says, “don’t be jealous, sixer. there’s room for you too.” and that’s how you three end up all squeezed together in a ridiculous pile
✧ Ford collects seashells. of course he does. hes a cutie. he’s walking along the shore, muttering to himself about “the fascinating variety of mollusk species” while carefully placing his finds into a small bag. Stan tries to look cool in front of you so he mocks his twin, calling it “nerd treasure,” or “typical nerds hobbies”, but later you catch him sneaking one of Ford’s shells into his pocket :)
✧ you challenge ford to a sand sculpting contest and he takes it so seriously because he’s sketching out blueprints in the sand, muttering about “load-bearing structures” while you’re just piling up sand with your hands. Stan joins your team, of course, and together you make the stupidest creation ever. Ford’s castle is a masterpiece, all detailed and structured, but when you ask the kids nearby to judge, they pick yours because it “looks funny!”
✧ Stan’s sunglasses break because he sits on them and instead of admitting defeat, he just steals Ford’s
✧ it starts innocent, like most things do. Ford’s helping you tie the strings of your bikini top after a swim. but he’s not as composed and cool as he seems. Stan, being nearby, catches the whole thing. “aw, sixer, don’t be that nervous. want me to show ya how it’s done?”
✧ Stan’s teaching you how to body surf, him standing waist-deep in the water, his chest glistening from salt water and all golden from the sun. “so you just have to let the wave carry ya, toots,” he grins but he doesn’t let you go far, placing his big hands on your hips before squeezing your ass
✧ they’ve set up a beach blanket, which is big enough for all three of you, and somehow you’ve ended up pinned between them. as always. not like you complaining though. Stan’s lying back, laying his arm around your shoulders. but Ford is more intimate, he’s talking about something you can’t even focus on because his hand is on your thigh as he brushes his fingers against the skin just beneath your bikini bottom. and then you both hear: “ya gotta share, sixer. can’t hog her all to yerself.”
✧ they both look at you like they’d devour you right there if they could
✧ Stan likes to tease, but he’s downright filthy when he gets you alone in the water. the sunlight makes your skin glisten beautifully and he can’t keep his hands off you. “ain’t nobody around, cmon,” he whispers in your ear as his fingers sneak beneath your bikini bottoms. “lemme feel ya, darlin’.” the saltwater does nothing to cool the burn as his fingers press in slowly and your body trembles, while his free hand holds you steady against him, his cock hard against your ass
✧ Ford acts all gentlemanly at first, adjusting your sun hat when the wind threatens to blow it off, complimenting how stunning you look with the ocean behind you. but you just have to tease him, so you lean into him and whisper something sweet and a little filthy in his ear. his reaction is immediate when he pulls you into the shade of a lifeguard tower, slipping his hand under your bikini as he kisses you and grinds his hips against you
✧ Stan cant help himself, he likes to watch your lips wrapped around the straw of your drink. it drives him wild. guess why
✧ Ford’s chest a little pink from the sunburn he’ll complain about later, but right now, he’s distracted by the way Stan’s fingers are trailing up your thigh as he applies sunscreen on you. he spreads the slick lotion higher, closer to where your thighs meet. Ford glares, but he doesn’t stop him; instead, he leans down and kisses your shoulder, saying something about needing to check for missed spots
✧ uh. . . imagine sneaking off to one of those little wooden beach huts which are meant for changing clothes, but it barely fits all three of you. but don’t be sad, the cramped space only makes things hotter!
✧ you’re dripping wet from a late afternoon swim and your bikini clings to your skin what makes Stan whistle and Ford fumble with his towel. the sun is setting behind you, turning everything in this golden, honey-like colour and you look like something out of a dream for both twins. “y-you’ll catch a cold,” Ford says as he wraps the towel around your shoulders. “nah, she’s burnin’ up already, don’t u see,” Stan is already behind you as he kisses your neck and the towel falls to the sand
✧ there’s something so funny but intimate about the way they take turns rubbing sunscreen onto your skin, even when you protest you’re fine on your own

Hi, can you do readers spending summer holidays with the Sainz family and they are caught up because the reader is being loud with Carlos, pls
Girl, can’t blame reader for being too loud, carlos is just 😩🤌🏼
Tumblr media
Sweaty summer ❤️
Summary: vacation with the sainz family was pretty fun until you both were caught up for being too damn loud, especially you
Warnings: nsfw, 18+, dacryphilia, daddy kink, face fucking, slut shaming
This year’s summer vacation was so much fun because you were spending your holidays with carlos’ family. Spending much more time with his mum, his cousins, his dad everything was so nice. They were treating you like a part of their family. You were loving every moment. You learned how to make carlos’ favorite childhood dish from his mom. She adored you. She loved the way you’d do anything for her son.
“Yes love, like that. You’re gonna have to let it boil for a while” carlos’ mother said as you did. You both were in the kitchen. Carlos was watching you from a distance, smirking. You looked at him catching his eyes as you smiled at him. His mom then left for some other work, carlos then got up and came closer to you. He then hugged you from behind as his face snuggled in your neck, kissing you softly. “So now you’re learning to cook my favorite dishes?” He asked teasingly as he swayed your hips along with his side to side. “Obviously” you said as you rolled your eyes at him sarcastically. You then turned around to hug him, wrapping your arms around him, feeling so safe and relaxed. His touch made you so complete and happy.
You’ve spent the rest of the evening with his family at the beach. You wore a dark red swimsuit that made your tan look so hot. You loved how carlos’ eyes never left your body. He was staring at you the whole time. Being so hungry for you. Its so cute how you could effortlessly make carlos horny. “Stop teasing me like that, you’ll regret it later love. You’ll beg for me to stop” he whispered in your ear as you smiled innocently at him. “Maybe that is what I want daddy” you said softly so then only he could hear your words. His jaw clenched at your words as you kept on pushing his buttons. But you knew you would definitely regret it later.
God, you really were regretting it. Although the house was supposed to be soundproof but at this point you’re not sure if it could protect your screams. The bed was squeaking loudly as carlos went deeper, thrusts getting harder. His breath getting heavier as his whole body started to get sweaty. You always loved sweaty summer sex with carlos. You were practically sobbing at this point, the pleasure being too much for you. Your ass making wet sounds every time his hips thrusted. “F-fuck fuckkk daddy, s-so good nghh!” You screamed as your body became sticky because of the sweat. Carlos then groaned loudly as he pushed your head down on the pillow, leaving muffled screams down your throat. “Stay quiet baby. Or else my family’s gonna know how much of a slut you are for me. You dont want them to think that now do you?” He said as his grip on the back of your head became stronger. You couldn’t take this anymore, it was too much for you. But you loved it. Every single moment of it. You grabbed his bedsheet as your vision started to get blurry.
Your muffled screams became louder as his thrusts became sloppier. You came already but carlos just couldn’t stop. He was definitely making sure you dont push his buttons in front of his family. Your pussy was sore at this point. “D-daddy its t-too much please” you begged as carlos slowed his pace, panting. He then smirked at you, running his hand down your shoulder. He then turned you over and grabbed your jaw making you look at him. His thumb brushed your bottom lip as he looked at it with a smirk on his face. “Daddy needs to cum you know that right? Be a good girl and take all of it. Let me fill your pretty little mouth with my cum. Because good girls always get rewards, right princess?” He said softly as your mouth opened at his words. He then brushed his tip on your bottom lip. His dick smelled like you, like your cum. Carlos’ hands cupped your face as he pushed his dick inside. You chocked instantly as your cheeks went red. “You can breathe through your nose baby” he said calmly but you were in such a great situation. Your spit dropped down your tits as your eyes teared up. Cheeks swelling up. His head fell back as his groan became louder. His dick twitched as your mouth tasted that perfect combination of sweet and salty cum of his. You moaned at the taste as you swallowed it all.
The morning was really refreshing. You saw carlos already brushing his teeth when you woke up. Towel wrapped around his waist. His hair was damp, he showered. You both talked for a while as you got ready and got out of the room. You both stopped talking as you noticed everyone was eyeing you guys down. God, they were defined judging you two. You started to get embarrassed as you realized that maybe they heard you two. They heard you moan. They heard you call carlos daddy. Oh it was so embarrassing. “What is going on?” Carlos asked as he tried to put some levity in the situation. “Nothing son, just had trouble sleeping last night. It was quite loud” his mom said as your cheek turned red. You couldn’t even bear to look at her as carlos giggled. “Well you guys should’ve just ignored it” carlos said and you shook your head. “No no carlos. Im so sorry everyone, i know this was really immature of us” you said as you looked at carlos. “No love dont apologize, well at least we know that you guys truly love each other” his mom said as she came to hug you softly and all his cousins agreed to it. “Come on guys, she’s embarrassed” carlos said as he brushed your hair gently. “Its alright y/n, dont be embarrassed about it. Making love is so pure. Love shouldn’t be something to be embarrassed about sweetheart” his mom said as you laughed. The room filled with giggles and laughs. You then looked at carlos mouthing “i fucking hate you” as he started to laugh.
A/N: requests are open! feel free to ask what you want me to write! luv you ❤️

hiiii lil prompt if ur down: thinkin about besties w unspoken tension, R and eddie checking each other for ticks in the van after cooling off in the river during a heatwave (went swimming the other day cld only think of him rip)
you got it bestie! i've changed this a little -- it's more like, "oh i'm checking you for ticks after swimming but actually i'm trying to start something." so, hope that's okay! i have not written smut in a while but damn i tried lol <3
eddie checks you for ticks very thoroughly after a swim | 18+, mdni, smut, fem!reader, 1.2k
detailed warnings: 18+, mdni, smut, fem!reader, outdoor/semi-public setting (no one around), oral (f receiving), fingering
Everything seems more in focus when your eyes are closed. The slightly scratchy towel rubbing against your skin, the damp of your underwear and bra as they dry in the sun. That same sun warm on your skin, gooseflesh rippling across your bare legs and arms when the breeze blows over the lake, a reprieve from the heat of the day.
Eddie is...somewhere. You don't hear any more splashing so he must be out of the water, too. His whistle comes and goes and you try your best not to fall asleep. That will almost certainly result in a sunburn. You had not planned to go swimming today, not really, but the heat was just too much and after going to get ice cream Eddie drove you to a quiet part of the lake and declared it a perfect day to swim.
Which is why you're drying out as best you can, since you wore your underthings and not a swimsuit. You vetoed skinny dipping since it's the middle of the day.
"You look pretty, sweetheart," Eddie says from somewhere nearby. You don't open your eyes, instead reaching your arms above your head and arching your back as you stretch.
"Thank you," you say coyly. Before the lake, you'd planned to ask him if he just wanted to go back to your place and fuck all afternoon, getting sweaty doing something fun instead of just sitting around being sweaty. If you try you're sure you can get him to touch you out here.
"Shame no one is around to see but me."
"Oh, yeah? You like being watched, Munson?"
He laughs. The light changes and you open your eyes to find him standing above you, smirk firmly in place. His hair hangs in damp curls and his boxers are almost dry but leave little to the imagination.
"You wish," he says. He moves out of the light and sits beside you on the blanket, lazily tracing a line up and down your thigh with his fingertips. The goosebumps have nothing to do with the rare breeze, this time. "You know," he says, sounding...devious. "We should probably check for ticks."
You sit up. "Really?" It's not something you'd thought of, but now you're worried. "Like, actually? You're not fucking with me?"
Eddie presses a kiss to your temple. "I'm fucking with you a little," he whispers. "Go with it."
Oh. He's trying to be...sexy. Not his best, but you'll let it happen. "Check away, then."
He gently pushes you back down and straddles you. He leans over your face, hair a curtain around you as his hands trail up your sides and over your arms to settle at your jaw. "Gotta go slow," he says. "Make sure." He brings your hands above your head. "Keep those there, yeah?"
Your eyes flutter closed. "Mhm. Get on with it."
He nips at your ear and you yelp, but he pays it no mind. His lips trail over your jaw, your mouth, but don't stop. He continues a path down your neck, featherlight touches that make your skin light up.
"Finding anything?"
He hums. "Nope," he says. "Makes no sense. If I was a tick I'd latch right on to you, pretty girl."
You snort. "Weird, Eddie."
His tongue dips into your clavicle and you gasp. Eddie shifts his seat as he travels down your body and you fight to keep your hands away, locking your fingers and resting your head on them so you're not tempted.
"So fucking pretty," he sighs and pulls down the cups of your bra. "I mean, look at these." Your breasts spill out, nipples hard from his attention already. "Gotta check here, of course."
Your eyes fly open when he takes one nipple between his lips and swipes at it with his tongue. His thumb tweaks the other and you arch into his hold, hips bucking. You can feel your underwear dampening and it has nothing to do with the lake.
"Eddie," you gasp. Your hands reach for him but he notices and catches them midair, releasing your nipple with a pop.
"What did I say, huh?" He gently guides your wrists back above your head. "Not yet."
Asshole.
"Think I checked there pretty good," he says, pinching your nipples one more time before trailing his lips over your soft stomach, nipping and soothing with his tongue as he goes. You watch him carefully so you can catch his eyes whenever he looks up at you, brown eyes almost black with pupil.
"Better hope no one else wants to swim today," you tell him. He winks and settles between your legs.
"You don't want them to see you like this? You sure?" He pries your knees apart and whistles. "Can see how wet you are through your panties, sweetheart," he says. You try to kick him but he laughs. "Sorry, sorry. You know how I love to tease you."
You drape an arm over your eyes and try to regain some composure. His touches and his lips and his attention have left you burning, feeling like you're melting into the blanket. "Eddie, come on."
"I'll take care of you," he says. "Don't you worry." His fingers hook into the waistband of your underwear and you lift your hips a little so he can pull them off. Warm hands spread your legs once again and you peek so you can see him.
His fingers dimple the flesh of your thighs and he looks like a starved man about to feast as he takes you in. "So pretty, baby," he says. "Such a pretty pussy."
"Eddie --" He drags two fingers through your folds and then brings them to his mouth, eyes on yours the whole time as he licks them clean. You might pass out if he doesn't touch you for real soon.
"Wet," he says. "Tasty, too." You moan. He hooks his arms around your legs and scoots as close as he can get to your cunt before he drags his tongue where his fingers were. Your back arches and your hands fly to bury themselves in his hair. He allows it.
"God, that feels good," you groan. He laps at you like it's the last thing he'll ever do, tongue dragging through your slick and occasionally pressing at your entrance. He sucks on your clit hard enough to make you cry out and tug on his hair, which only spurs him on. It's filthy, all of it. The sounds he's making, the wet squelch of your cunt, the fact that anyone could walk up and find you.
You can barely form words as Eddie eats you out like a man possessed, barely coming up for air. You have to tug on his hair to get his attention.
"I'm close, Eddie, I'm gonna --"
He squeezes your hips and sucks on your clit so hard you see white and then you're coming, gushing on his face, grinding against him as he tries to keep your hips still so he can keep sucking as you're rocked with the waves of your orgasm. It seems to go on forever but your breath finally comes back and your hips stay on the ground.
Eddie gives you one last lick, gentle though it still makes you jerk in his hold, before coming up for air. His face is a mess -- shiny with you, lips read and eyes wild.
"No ticks," he says, licking his lips.
"Oh my god," you say, laughing breathlessly.
thank you for reading <3 reblog, send feedback, general masterlist here!

Springfield, M4 and AR-15 showing their new bikinis off to their S/O
(GFL) M4A1, ST AR-15, M4 SOPMOD II, and M16A1 showing off their swimsuit to their S/O
So, much as I'd love to endlessly thirst and show you M4 and STAR's outfits, one problem with that.
Tumblr media
They don't have swimsuit skins, which is a CRIME. Springfield's is right in this link, so as compensation I'm throwing in the rest of the AR Team.
Tumblr media
M4's hair blows back from the winds gently brushing against her face.
She stood near the water wearing a modest dark green bikini, both her top and bottom adorned with flowing skirts that didn't reveal too much of her skin.
M4 couldn't help but feel a bit nervous, a combination of the fact that T-Dolls cannot be immersed in saltwater for long, and she felt so...naked.
Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned her head and saw S/O approaching in a thankfully modest swimsuit as well.
(M4A1) "...You look nice."
(S/O) "Thanks. The green really suits you."
(M4A1) "Think so? Well, I think it could look a little better with a bit of help."
Her voice softened as she gave them the compliment, shyly reaching her hand for theirs.
Her usual shyness and self doubt seemed to disappear the moment she got close to them.
As their fingers intertwine with each other's, M4 respectfully examines their swimsuit as she notices they're doing the same.
She doesn't stay in the water with them for too long, instead they just stroll the beach talking about whatever came to mind, hand in hand.
Tumblr media
STAR stares down at her swimsuit with a frown. It was a cute pink swimsuit that showed off a moderate amount of skin.
But that was the problem. Looking at the other members of the AR Team, their tops all had curves.
Hers clearly did not.
Author's Note: No boing boing.
STAR failed to notice S/O approach her, tilting their head in confusion.
(S/O) "STAR, is everything alright?"
(ST AR-15) "Huh?! Y-Yes, I'm fine."
Sighing she looks at S/O before she suddenly jumps, seeing their own. The close vicinity with both of them wearing so little made her blush and turn her gaze away.
(ST AR-15) "Just don't look too close, okay?"
(S/O) "Embarrassed I'll stare at my lovely girlfriend?"
STAR lightly punches their arm, failing to keep her smile growing at the edge of her lips.
(ST AR-15) "I'm not that easy to please, you know."
Tumblr media
SOPMOD wears a very revealing red one-shoulder top, showing off her curves and flaunting it.
She eagerly waited for S/O to show up, and when they finally began approaching she almost sprinted to them.
(SOPMOD) "Hey, hey! Check me out, aren't I sizzling?!"
(S/O) "W-Wow, that's really nice...!"
(SOPMOD) "Come on, say that when you're actually looking at me and not staring at the ground!"
She begins to pout, satisfied when S/O looks at her closely. SOPMOD hugs them tightly as she drags them to the water.
(SOPMOD) "Now get your hot bod to the water too, I wanna catch a fish!"
She doesn't make it obvious, but SOPMOD felt really happy that S/O was so shy looking at her.
It meant two things, that the swimsuit did her job, and that her S/O really loved her if they got so flustered they had to turn away.
It was cute.
SOPMOD mercifully didn't bring much attention to it, instead determined to bring back a souvenir to her room.
Tumblr media
M16 was lazily sprawled out on the sunlounger underneath an umbrella, her Jack Daniel's resting comfortably on her stomach.
Her black longline bikini had her stomach wide open, and she was quite proud of it. She had zero shame in how little her top and bottom covered. Since it was really only S/O, the Commander, and very few human personnel nearby, she didn't have to worry about telling anyone off.
Her eyepatch remained underneath a pair of sunglasses. As a T-Doll, both eyewear was unnecessary, but the eyepatch was a memento she refused to be rid of, and the sunglasses were there to make her look cool.
Seeing S/O approach, she raised her shades up to her forehead and smirked.
(M16A1) "'Sup?"
(S/O) "I see you're enjoying yourself. Not gonna swim?"
(M16A1) "Nah. Just gonna sit here and enjoy the view."
She winked at them.
S/O had no reaction.
...Oh right, eyepatch.
(M16A1) "Well, this chair's got room for one more, you know."
(S/O) "Wha-You're already on it."
(M16A1) "Guess I can just lay on top of you.~"
She laughs so hard upon seeing S/O's flustered reaction, to the point she snorted and quickly shut herself up.
(M16A1) "...You didn't hear that."
(S/O) "Hah, you sure?"
(M16A1) "Get your ass on here before I change my mind."
She jokingly says as she scoots over, both of them lying on the chair together and watching the others enjoy their time on the beach."
M16 got to admire her S/O's swimsuit very up close and personal, making a mental note of how they looked outside of their normal uniform.

*ahem* so for completely unrelated reasons what would be ur fave designs/outfits for wingul and gaius...
Haha, oh boy, I have opinions on costumes, mind if I use this post to ramble a bit 😅
In-game: So Gaius generally gets nice outfits. His default ones are both really good and fitting, the no jacket one is classy, swimsuit is hot (minus the stupid towel)... I'm a bit eeeh on the school one, aesthetics-wise, but it's funny as a concept. Gaius is too old for school anyway. Sports is okay, kinda bland. Would have preferred a kendo or iaido uniform or something bc sword, but what we got isn't too bad either. Cameo is not a costume I like much nor find fitting for him, but it works for the seiyuu joke (it's rare when I like cameo costume choices anyway).
There's only one I truly dislike, and it's the X1 default alt color. Like seriously, what the heck is that one??? Going darker/more black? Good idea! Purple? Awesome! ...Add some neon green? WTF. That makes him look like some alien or something. Who thought this was a good idea?? That color combination looks ridiculous af, I hate it. Make it silver or something, it would have been so much better.
Anyway my ultimate favorite is, of course, his last boss costume. It looks really good, the color scheme is awesome (white and gold really suits him, along with the red and black). It's really awesome.
Wingul, sadly, gets no new costume, which is a shame. The God-General got a wardrobe change in the last arc, why couldn't the Chimeriad? 😢
Mobile games: Sadly, Gaius is no Yuri/Ludger/Sorey/insert popular character, so he doesn't get a lot, but there's still a few and they're all good. Least favorite is his Rays White Day suit, not because it's bad (it isn't, it does suit him), but because his X2 default is already a suit, so it's pretty unoriginal; kind of a waste of a seasonal costume. At least the anni suit from Asteria is more different (and very good).
Kinda same about his spirit gear, like it's cool, I like how it's a mix between his last boss and default costumes, but it looks a bit too much like a simple alt color of the last boss one. More variety would have been nice (especially since one of the things I loved about the last boss one was how it departed from the 'red and black' scheme, which this one basically reverts to). But honestly it's still good, it's more about me wanting something more different.
Yukata is nice especially because it gives him a color he doesn't wear often, but sadly since it's a 4* we don't have full picture of it.
The best is his hanami one, absolutely gorgeous, great colors, nice hairstyle... just perfect. At first I wasn't too big on the coat but after looking more into taisho roman fashion I realized it fits (still prefer without it tho).
Wingul, surprisingly, gets a couple of costumes here. He looks pretty good in the idol costume (also, white suits him!), though the downside of it is that it's a generic idol crossover costume and many other characters have one too (plus side of that is that it matches with Agria's tho).
And then... there's the onsen costume. Which I love for the concept of it. But it's a mess lmao. Firstly, the color scheme is all over the place. The tie is horrendous, especially on that shirt. The... jacket thing (is it a haori? something else?) is nice, but combined with everything else just contributes to the overall ridiculous look. Seriously Wingul what happened, did Agria burn your clothes so you had to borrow a mismatch from other employees??? Ridiculous. It's a "so bad I love it" situation 🤣
Wish list: This category is like, if I could make Rays/Asteria provide more costumes for my faves, what would I like to see? Well, top of the list would be New Year or Lunar New Year outfits, the former because they're always so gorgeous and I'm jealous that plenty of characters I don't care about get them over my faves, the latter because it's a really cool concept and I wish they'd bring it back already.
Next would be Wedding for shipping reasons, but honestly it'd just be yet another suit so I can do without. Same for Orchestra, though I'd be curious to see what instruments Bamco would assign them (still not over trumpet Elize lmao). Halloween would be cool too. And pirates.
Also, for Wingul specifically, anything that matches with Gaius' existing costumes. Gimme that couple look, Bamco x)
idk if that answers your question lol, but those are my thoughts on Gaius and Wingul's costumes.

polar plunge | elvis x gn!reader
Tumblr media
summary: (requested) you come up with an idea to help elvis raise money for charity, but it takes some convincing to do.
warnings: cursing? i think that's it.
wc: 1.4k
note: this was written with 69/70's elvis in mind, hope i did this request justice 🫶🏼
masterlist | request | taglist
elvis had your hand in his as you two were curled up in front of the fire, a soft record from his collection playing in the background. it was a cozy evening, just talking about upcoming plans for after the new year. there was a brief period of silence where you just enjoyed each other's company. you had your head resting on his shoulder as he glanced outside the window, watching the snow fall. “y’know, it’s a damn shame” he broke the silence
you lifted your head and looked out the window, “what is?”
he kept his eyes still on the snow. “some people aren’t as fortunate as me. not as lucky.” he started. “the way we struggled growin’ up…people are still dealin’ with that, some people have it worse than i did.”
you frowned at the sudden conversation. one of the things you admired about elvis was how much he wanted to give. any time he had a friend in need or ran into a stranger in need, he did everything he possibly could to help them. money? a new car? a new house? hospital bill? he had it covered. that doesn't even count the money he donates privately plus the charity concerts and events he occasionally holds.
"i always feel like i'm not doin' enough." he sighed.
suddenly, an idea popped into your head. a lightbulb would be over your head if it were humanly possible. you lifted your head off his shoulder and asked, "can i suggest something?" elvis turned to look at you. "a polar plunge." he looked at you like you were crazy. "don't look at me like that! it was just a suggestion! anyway, it'd be a fun way to raise money."
"baby, i love you. but you're talkin' crazy. ain't no way in hell am i gettin' in below-freezing water." he shook his head, letting out a small laugh. he turned his head back to the snow, still slightly laughing at your suggestion.
"and miss the chance to see me in a swimsuit?"
if elvis turned his head any faster, his neck would have snapped right off. "i'm listenin'."
you rolled your eyes, smacking him playfully on his arm. "you could get the guys involved too. we'd raise a pretty good amount of money especially if it's you doing it." you also just felt like seeing his mafia suffer for a few minutes just for the hell of it. you hated having to share elvis with them sometimes.
elvis had to really think about it. he really didn't want to do it, but it was a good idea. god, he hated how it was a good idea. but it was for charity, after all. he’d get to cuddle up with you afterward too which was a bonus. it would take some convincing of the mafia though, that’s for sure. they often said yes to everything he did, but this may be pushing it for them. picturing red or jerry running through freezing cold water got a chuckle out of him. “yea, alright. let’s see what we can do.”
when it came down to planning the event, the guys thought he was insane.
“e.p, you’ve come up with some crazy ideas in your life but that just might be the craziest one of them all. i’m tappin’ out.” sonny crossed his arms. the rest of the group chipped along with him in agreement.
red nodded along with him, taking a swig from his glass. “you wanna raise money so bad, come up with somethin’ else.”
everyone started complaining, talking over each other and trying to brainstorm better ideas. elvis wasn’t gonna have it though. “thats enough!” he shouted over the group of men. “i don’t care what y’all wanna do and what y’all don’t want to do. this is what i want to do and you’re all gonna do it regardless of what you think.”
they all looked at each other, lamar raising an eyebrow. “or what?”
elvis shot him a stern look in return. “you really wanna ask that question?” they should know better than to push the man and test his limits, he rarely took no for an answer for a reason. “because if ya don’t, you’re all fired.” and elvis was serious about it. “and anyway, for each one of you that does do it, it's more money that goes to kids. either don't do it and feel like shit or do it, feel like shit but know you did it for a good cause.”
you let out a small giggle at the last statement, catching an angry look from lamar. “i’ll double it if you all join in.” you shrugged.
“see!” elvis exclaimed. “now, let's pick out a date.”
even though it was your idea, you were still nervous. so now here you were, wrapped in a jacket with a new swimsuit underneath it, shivering as a cold breeze came through the air. everyone but elvis looked like they didn't want to be there, which was understandable. it was a good thing you didn't suggest costumes, that could have caused an even bigger argument. it was colder than you had thought it'd be. thankfully it had stopped snowing a few hours ago. there were also cameras everywhere, why did you decide this was a good idea? this is for a good cause, you reminded yourself. elvis interrupted your thoughts, placing a hand on your shoulder. “when we're done, i’ll send the boys away and we can get another fire goin’ at home.” he whispered in your ear. “sounds wonderful.” you smiled at him, nodding.
“alright, y'all ready?” elvis threw his coat off along with everyone else, getting in a line by the shore facing the freezing-cold water. elvis was beside you with jerry on the opposite side of you, muttering out a quiet i don't wanna be here. to himself. elvis took your hand, holding onto it tightly. “we'll go in together.” you let out a sigh of relief, enjoying the small bit of warmth from his hand in yours. people behind you started counting down. you couldn't believe you were really doing this. the countdown finished and everyone was rushing into the icy water. elvis made sure to not let go of your hand the whole time you were running.
letting out a shriek as your feet hit the cold water, elvis laughed softly and held onto your waist as you got as deep as you could. “why is it so fucking cold?!” you shouted.
“why are you askin’? this was your idea!” the cold was getting to elvis now, who looked over at his friends who were suffering even worse than you and elvis were. although, some of them were off making bets of who could stand in the water the longest. elvis couldn't take it any longer, he picked you up from the water, carrying you out as the many cameras surrounding the area captured every moment. he quickly wrapped a coat around you before putting one on himself, watching his friends still wander around in the water. “you think one of ‘em’s gonna come back sick? placin’ my bets on lamar.” he wrapped his arms back around you, holding you close with your back pressed against his front.
you scoffed, shivering in his hold. “are you kidding? it's gonna be sonny for sure.”
everyone eventually returned from the water, having been called out to prevent any risk of hypothermia. he really had the most stubborn group of friends to walk on this earth. elvis finished up his interviews and talking with the camera crews before sending his friends off and telling them to go warm up. and as elvis said he would, he brought you back home to graceland and set up a fire. you were both in comfy, warm sweaters under a blanket in front of the fireplace, a cup of hot chocolate in your hand. “what do you think? stupidest idea i've ever come up with or the best idea i've ever come up with?” you asked jokingly.
he poked at the fire once more before scooting back and up against you. “well, it was an idea.”
you took a sip from your mug. “at least we raised money though, i just hope nobody got sick.”
“i wouldn't worry about ‘em.” he shrugged. “maybe we should do that again next year.” elvis suggested.
“please, god no.”

Tumblr media
You were really quite useless on days like this.
The skies were gray, rain falling in buckets, and wind was howling like a pack of wolves. Walking down the sidewalk was a drenching nightmare and so you and Akaashi were trapped seeking shelter between overhangs. The plan had been to go to the beach, to finally get your best friend to enjoy a day off, but there had clearly been a miscalculation in the weather report as the two of you learned on the street five minutes after you left the train station. You had been well-prepared for today — well, for your plans today, meaning that you were wearing your swimsuit under your clothes and were carrying a towel and deflated beach ball in the bag on your arm.
Convincing someone like Akaashi Keiji to come to the beach was like coaxing a wild owl into your hands. It wasn’t impossible, but it didn’t seem quite worth it either, until it was over. Your arguments had been all over the place — “you need a break!” — “Summer’s short — “if I was Bokuto you’d agree...” but in the end it seemed as if he was just waiting for an appropriate time to agree to it. Akaashi wasn’t a fan of being disappointed; he took the proper precautions and always lowered his standards in order to avoid it. So of course, you should have expected him to wait until he knew for sure that he’d have time today and knew for sure that the weather’d be nice.
You’d always hoped that Akaashi had set his standards low for you as well. He was always rather cynical about things, seeing them as they were rather than how they could be. He was a good problem solver. He was honest. How could you not fall for him after all this time? But still, you hoped his standards were low for you because you didn’t know what would happen if he found out about your feelings for him.
Sometimes you wondered if he had ever had feelings for anyone at all. And you found yourself thinking often that it was such a shame that he hadn’t been picked up by anyone, and that it was a waste of a man who would make a very good partner.
Indeed, while his standards in life might be low you found that yours were exceptionally high. You saw the good in everything, or at least tried to. You wanted the best, which was perhaps why after meeting Akaashi you couldn’t think about another person. And maybe it was why you tried so hard to get today with him, because you wanted it badly enough.
But now you and the manga-editor-in-training were rushing between overhangs, avoiding puddles and umbrella-users, back in the direction of the train station. The glass door of a small café opened and a couple walked out with an umbrella, and the two of you glanced at each other before stepping inside after them.
The door creaked as it closed and you looked around. The floors and walls were wooden, and the sharp scent of coffee pricked your nose. You’d never been here before, but it was an oddly comforting space after all.
Akaashi ran a hand through his hair, water spraying off down his neck. His shirt was completely soaked. His white T-shirt.
“Well,” you said. “Guess we’re not going to the beach.”
He chuckled. “I got my wish, then.”
“Keiji…”
“You want some tea to warm up?” he said, flashing you a smile. “Sun warms your skin but there isn’t anything like the heat from a cup of tea on a rainy day.”
You complied, and the two of you ordered from the barista. She had a classic outfit on, and gave you a wink at one point although you were sure you’d imagined it.
After taking your drinks, you took a two-seater window seat, gazing into the unrelenting precipitation. “It’s like a hurricane,” you stated. “One just striking in order to ruin our plans.”
“Your plans,” Akaashi corrected you, relaxing his elbows onto the table with his face placed in his hands. “But, yes, I agree, the timing is strange.”
You shivered and reached into your bag for your towel to help you warm up, only to realize it was wet. You swore under your breath and then raised your eyebrows at your companion. “I’m sorry, did you feel forced to come along today?”
“I feel as if I should have been the last person you would have asked to come along.”
“Why? Do you have something against beaches?”
He chuckled. “No, of course not.”
“Then… Do you have something against me?”
“No, Y/N. If I had something against you, you’d know it by now.”
“Then why do you hate time off?”
He nodded. “That’s it, yeah. I just… I’m at a place in my career, Y/N, where going to the beach or hanging out in a cafe when I could be perfecting my skills seems like a waste.” Akaashi took his glasses in his hand, wiping the rain from the lenses.
“Okay. Fun is bad. I’ll remember that.”
“No. Hey, no, that’s not what I meant.”
You stirred your tea with the stir stick, casting your eyes down. “Oh, I know, Keiji. We’ve had this conversation enough times. You’re a perfectionist, and you can’t bear not doing things right the first time. You analyze things too much. Can’t you romanticize anything?”
Akaashi took a deep breath and sighed. “I haven’t told you about the most recent manga I was assigned to. You’ll get a kick out of this.”
“What? What is it?”
He put his glasses back on and looked straight at you. “A shoujo manga. Romance.”
“Oh, no.”
“Oh, yes, apparently.”
You giggled to yourself. “Who saw you and your skills and thought, ‘hey, this guy looks like he’ll be good with romance’?”
He smiled at you, and you felt tears spring to one of your eyes. Maybe it was just that your tea was too hot. Probably, yeah.
It was moments like these that you wished you could replay. And days like this that you were utterly useless on, days where the atmosphere was just so… nice. It was unfair that life could have moments like these.
You shook off your thoughts, sinking back into the conversation. “Maybe they need you to help them tone down the unrealistic aspects. You know, time loops and abundant sparkles on the love interest and great displays of affection. They look great on paper but when you stop to think about them…”
“Well, I dunno. I think younger people enjoy it despite knowing how unlikely it is. It’s no different from fantasy in that way.”
“Romance is so unlikely to you that you see it as fantasy?”
He clicked his tongue. “Hm, Y/N. Have you ever been stuck in a time loop?”
You sipped some tea. “You win, I guess.”
Minutes spent in this little café turned into a few hours and you were both pleased that no one was rushing you out. You really felt quite lucky to have found this café. Maybe you were enjoying yourself more than you would have at the beach. Either way, you were spending time with your best friend and the man you loved, so was there really anything else you could ask for?
The rain had stopped or at least calmed down substantially from what you could tell. You made plans to head in the direction of home; it would be too late to really enjoy the beach now. You both tipped the barista and walked towards the door. You realized just as you were walking towards the door that you’d forgotten your bag, so you encouraged him to go on as you ran back.
“You’re a cute couple,” the barista told you gently as you walked past the till.
“Oh, we’re not…”
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to…. Look, he’s even holding the door for you. Are you sure you can’t reconsider?”
You laughed, feeling a little uncomfortable. You’d reconsidered, plenty of times. But no, you’d never have the guts to even try. And that was it.
You followed Akaashi out the door and as soon as your feet hit the sidewalk you heard another telltale gust of wind. The pattering of rain was picking up again, and Akaashi beckoned you to an overhanging a few feet in front of you.
Of course it would start raining as soon as you stepped out. You felt an immense lack of sense of direction as you followed Akaashi. “Shouldn’t we turn back?” you called to him, raising your voice over the wind.
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!” he replied. “C’mon!”
Here you were yet again, darting between coverings, feeling your clothes getting soaked again. People with umbrellas passing you. A couple exited a café, putting up an umbrella, and Akaashi silently told you to come with him inside.
“It looks like we’re really not going to the beach,” you said, and felt deja vu hit you like a bus.
Another couple?
Another café?
“I got my wish, then,” Akaashi said.
“Yeah, I know,” you replied, trying not to panic.
“You want some tea to warm up?” he asked you with a smile. “Sun warms your skin but there isn’t anything like the heat from a cup of tea on a rainy day.”
You nodded, your eyes widening. Was this a prank? How could this be happening? What was going on? You took your phone out. 13:43. No, it should be it should be nearly evening now—
The barista — the same barista — flashed you a thumbs up and a wink. You didn’t imagine it. You were sure of that.
As the two of you sat down at the table — the same table, you realized — Akaashi sighed. “Hm. Well, I guess I have time to tell you about the manga I was assigned.”
“The…” you replied, staring at him. How should you act? Should you act like you knew you were being pranked somehow? Or should you go along with it?
“It’s a shoujo manga. Romance.”
“Romance?” you asked dumbly.
“Yeah, I know.” He smiled at you.
That smile. You’d seen that exact smile just a few hours earlier. But you hadn’t. It made no sense.
If Akaashi Keiji would have been stuck in this situation, what would he do? He was much smarter than you, probably better versed in how to quickly deal with strange circumstances after being the best friend of Bokuto Kotaro in high school.
He’d probably do nothing at all. He’d probably keep quiet and figure it out on his own. Akaashi could solve problems and do things well and work hard, but he never, ever asked for help.
You were not Akaashi Keiji.
“Sh-shoujo manga, huh? Do they have… like, you know… time loops and stuff? In them?”
He frowned at you. “Funny that you should ask. I had to tell the author that putting in a third chapter about a time loop sort of made it feel more unoriginal than necessary. Time loops are a fun idea but readers will get the idea after the first go.” He took his glasses into his hands to wipe the rain off of them with the edge of his shirt.
“What do you mean, chapters? Like, three times reliving it, or—”
“No, three different time loops altogether.”
You went quiet. Well, at least you didn’t have it as bad as those characters.
“Yeah, I know. A little much, right? At this point, romance and fantasy are hardly different genres.”
… Then again.
You cleared your throat. “Keiji, what would you do if you were stuck in a time loop?” Your eyes looked up into his and you gave him a studied expression of casual inquiry rather than the impatience and panic you were feeling.
“That’s a compelling question,” he began, frowning. He restored his glasses to his face. “A time loop… What sort of time loop?”
“Does it matter?”
“If it’s just a normal day in the life that’s repeating, I’d probably try to handle it calmly. But if it was an alien invasion happening over and over again, then I’d wake up.”
You blinked at him, and then smiled a bit. “Haha. That makes sense.”
“What about you, Y/N? What would you do?” Akaashi’s blue eyes peered into yours and for a shattering moment you thought that he understood, somehow. But his expression returned to normal almost immediately after.
“I’d ask for help,” you said. “Hoping someone would believe me.”
“Hm. Who would you ask?”
“The closest person, I guess.”
“I think if you’re the only one conscious of a time loop it means that you are the only one with the power to change it.”
“That’s… that’s true. That makes sense.”
“You’d have to find the variable that is causing it, and eliminate it somehow. Usually you’ll have to try a lot of things. No time loop is ever just twice.”
“Since when did you become so experienced?”
A chuckle escaped his mouth. “Like I said. Shoujo manga. Three chapters. It’s an easy way for character development and it shocks the readers… until it’s been done a few too many times.”
“I feel like you would be better at editing shounen manga. You seem to value plot development more than relationships.”
“It’s the same story every time. Or at least it feels like it. But… It's not that I enjoy reading it particularly, but I like knowing that young people enjoy it despite how unlikely it is. Like I said, it’s no different from fantasy.”
You tried to relax. There wasn’t anything at all wrong with having another conversation with Akaashi, despite the fact that he did seem to be repeating a few sentences from the last time. No matter the circumstances, his company made everything seem a little less bleak.
Perhaps it had to do with your bag, you thought, seeing the rain had slowed. You made sure to remember it as the two of you left a tip — you gave her the same amount as last time, grateful to see that at least your balance had reverted since before.
“You’re a cute couple,” the barista told you, a knowing (unknowing) smile on her lips.
“Thanks, but we’re not a…”
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to assume. Well, you’re both very cute individually, then.”
Akaashi thanked her as you cleared your throat uncomfortably. Was she going to say that every time? It seemed like unnecessary punishment.
Maybe this would be the last time. Maybe whatever variable there had been last time had been changed correctly, and it wouldn’t start raining again as you stepped onto the street.
The weather mocked you by splashing you right on the face.
“Do we have to go on?” you called out to Akaashi. Maybe it was the café that was causing this — you only had to find somewhere else to wait it out.
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!” he replied over the sound of the wind.
You planted your feet. “I think the rain will pass. I don’t want to get any more wet than I am.”
“Don’t be silly,” he said, turning back to you with a smile on his face. He tousled your damp hair and grabbed your hand. “Come on.”
“Well, when you put it that way,” you grumbled.
It all continued as expected. The couple. The café. The barista giving you a wink that you were now absolutely certain that you had not, in fact, imagined. Akaashi’s glasses. The conversation about shoujo manga. This time, you didn’t even bring up time loops and he didn’t either. It was peaceful and gentle but you couldn’t help but notice the strong feeling in your gut that you weren’t getting anywhere.
“You’re a cute couple.”
“We are, aren’t we?” you replied quickly. “The cutest.” This better not be the last chance, you thought, putting your arm around his waist and cooing, “Right, babe?”
Although you found yourself enjoying his following expression, it melted away into the familiar determination to find shelter as soon as you stepped out of the café. However, you hadn’t accounted for the possibility that your position would remain the same and so when he glanced down at the way your arm was around his waist you could feel yourself panicking.
“I’m cold,” you explained quickly, feeling your heart speed up.
“I see,” he answered shortly. His arm slid behind your back. “Let’s not waste any time. Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet, alright?”
Although you weren’t exactly used to being this close to him, it was something you were more than happy to enjoy while it lasted. You tightened your grip on the damp fabric of his shirt. “Maybe we don’t have to.”
“Don’t be silly. C’mon.”
You didn’t relent this time. There really had to be something about that café. And it was scaring you, honestly. “I don’t want to go to some café and talk for three hours again. I love talking with you but we were meant to get outside and live a little. Can’t we, I dunno, run to the beach? Even though it’s raining?”
He turned back to you. A raindrop rolled down the side of his face, heading down the line of his jaw and stopped right at the end of his chin. Before you knew what you were doing, you reached up and swiped it off, pausing when you realized his face had turned to yours. You glanced between his eyes and lips.
“Keiji…”
What now?
He narrowed his eyes at you. “We’re standing in the middle of a flash hurricane and you want to run around on the beach?” He put a hand on your forehead. “Are you delusional?”
“I’m completely sane, I swear—”
“You said you were cold. We need to get inside somewhere.”
You made it to the café — but then you passed the café, seeing that same couple already having left, walking ahead of you. This was new. You’d somehow stalled, and now you were passing it. Was this going to save you?
“Where are we going to go, then?” you asked.
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!”
Well.
Akaashi had said, in the second time over, that people in time loops should try as many different ideas as possible. Despite his knowledge being from editing a shoujo manga, you had no choice but to trust the idea. This time, you allowed him to take you into the café but you led him to a different table, closer to the till. The barista joined in on the conversation at one point. She still managed to compliment the two of you as a couple, and you still managed to become rendered helpless in response.
You told Akaashi you’d be right back, looking for the bathroom. You were beginning to feel… motion sickness? Claustrophobia? Anxiety? It was hard to tell, but as you leaned on the sink in the humble washroom, you knew that something was off. Even if your physical state had been reverted at each timeskip, your head was pounding and there was a pain in your stomach. Your eyes felt hooded and your tongue dreaded the flavour of that tea.
Was it possible that you were sleep deprived? Your mind hadn’t been getting restored every time the way your body had, so maybe it was carrying over. When was the last time your mind had slept? Your attitude had changed greatly since the day had begun for you — you’d been jittery, looking forward to spending time with Akaashi and seeing him have fun for once. But now, you sort of just wanted to collapse on his comfortable-looking shoulder and take a nap.
You did the math. 20 hours? More? It seemed reasonable; you’d stayed up longer before. But it was not reasonable. It was 2:32 in the afternoon.
As you stepped back into the café, the barista gave you a look. “Are you feeling okay, Y/N? You look a little pale.”
Your heart drummed. This woman knowing your name was a clear sign that something was not as it should be. There was something you hadn’t considered and it was right in front of you.
“Time loops are exhausting when you’re not used to them,” she remarked, leaning her elbows on the counter. “I get it.”
“You— you know?”
She smiled. “Yeah. I get stuck in them too often. It sucks ‘cause it’s not included in my hourly pay since they have no way of tracking it, you know?”
She seemed so casual about it. As if it was an everyday occurrence. You tried to formulate a question but you couldn’t come up with a complete sentence. “Why…?”
“It’s hard to explain. It’s a story for another time.” She glanced over at Akaashi. “Like I’ve said, the two of you would make a cute couple, hm?”
You made a face. “Is that supposed to be some sort of clue?”
The barista hummed, straightening her apron. “Does that make you Col. Mustard? And me Ms. Scarlet? Ooh, what about him? Is he Mr. Green?”
“You aren’t making any sense.”
“Perhaps not. But the great question remains, Mustard. Who killed Mr. Boddy, and where, and how?”
“I don’t understand…” you said, and she turned away from you. But even as you sat back in your chair with Mr. Gr— with Akaashi, it began to sort itself out in your mind.
You were looking for a “who,” a “where,” and a “how.”
The “who” was clearly not the barista, since she’d been aware of all that was happening. It wouldn’t be you, either, if that logic applied. Akaashi? Was he the ‘killer’? What action was it that he was doing that caused this afternoon to repeat, and how could you get him to stop?
“Have you ever played Clue, Akaashi?”
He thought this over. “Yeah, we played with Bokuto once, remember?”
You recalled the event, smiling to yourself. “That must have been ages ago.”
“It was, indeed. Which leads me to the question, Y/N: why on earth are you asking?”
“A random question.”
“I see. You’ve asked a few of those today.”
You stared. What did he mean? “Like what?”
“You asked ‘where are we going to go?’ earlier, and then ‘can’t we get a different tea?’ as if we’ve been here before.”
For a moment your heart stopped and you stared at him. “As if we’ve been here before?
“I thought it was your favourite kind, Y/N.”
You blinked at him. “Keiji.”
He looked outside, passively ignoring you. “Looks like the rain has stopped. We might as well head home, hey?”
Maybe this was it. Leaving, stepping back onto the sidewalk. He was, after all, the first person to talk in each repetition. If you could somehow prevent him from going out there… maybe there was another door? But how would you be able to explain that?
“Keiji, let’s go out this way.” You grabbed his wrist, leading him towards the back. Maybe there would be a kitchen you could sneak into, and a staff door or something?
“What? Why are we— Y/N, we can’t just—”
You dragged him behind the counter and towards the back area. It was nothing more than you’d expected, and there was a door right there. This was it, you’d escape!
“Just trust me. I talked to the barista earlier.” You hoped that the barista wasn’t going to try to prevent your escape now.
You were almost there — you pushed the door open, sighing in relief when the sky didn’t open up on you again. You’d never hated the rain, but you were honestly finding that it was getting old after all this. Back here, there was a small parking lot and the gravel had a few dirty puddles in it from the rain earlier.
“That was weird,” Akaashi muttered.
“Sorry.”
“No, I mean…” He was watching you carefully, not saying a word more.
“Can we stay back here for a bit? I need a breather.”
Akaashi didn’t say anything.
“Is that okay with you?”
He was still looking right into your eyes, searching for something.
“Are you okay?”
His voice was quiet when he finally spoke. “You really aren’t aware?”
Your mouth fell open. “You mean you are?”
“The time loop.”
“Yes!”
He sighed in relief. “I was worried I’d have to figure it out on my own.”
“How many times have you lived it, Keiji?”
“This is the second time. It started when you said something about talking to the barista, right?”
Oh. Oh no. “This is getting weirder and weirder,” you muttered, frowning at him.
“Curiouser and curiouser.”
“Don’t quote Alice in Wonderland at me right now.” A time loop within a time loop? Except — you were conscious of it because he’d told you, right? Your head was beginning to hurt. Maybe the fact that you knew meant that this was the right do-over. Right?
What were you missing? You were becoming too confused to even begin to understand. Maybe you should go back inside the way you came out. Maybe it wouldn’t happen again.
“Last time, we went back inside because you were panicking, and then we came out again,” Akaashi said as if reading your thoughts.
“You mean, we went back in the staff door?”
He nodded.
“Okay, then,” you said, taking his arm. “Let’s go to the front.”
As you expected, as soon as you rounded the corner to that familiar sidewalk, the rain began. Here came his line. You couldn’t help but mouth the words as he said it.
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!”
There was the couple, walking out of the café. At this point, you were willing to try anything, so you called out to them. “Hey! Weird café, right?”
You did not expect to see the person on the right, holding the umbrella, to turn around and be Akaashi.
“You’ll see,” he said. You could barely hear him over the sound of the rain.
How could that be Akaashi?
How could Akaashi next to you stop in his tracks and stare at himself ten feet away?
“Just go inside,” you said. No, not you, but the you over there.
You glanced at the guy next to you, who was remaining silent, clearly trying to understand.
The other you and the other Akaashi moved on. You couldn’t help but notice how close they were to each other. Were you feeling jealous of yourself? But wait, were they… were they your future?
Somehow you knew you’d finally done it, you’d narrowed it down to the who and where. All that was left was the how. But you couldn’t keep this time over. Akaashi was confused, searching for answers, and it would be impossible to try anything. You rushed him forward, past the door of the café, as you’d done the… fourth time over? You could hardly keep track anymore. You were tired.
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!”
There the couple was, and although you couldn’t see them clearly, it did look like the two of you once again. You tried to stay calm as the two of you walked inside.
“I’m going to ask for an umbrella,” you told Akaashi.
“You’re a cute couple,” the barista said to you and you nearly broke your hand from clenching the corner of the counter.
“Do you have any umbrellas?” you asked, the word ‘please’ repeating in your head over and over until she responded.
“Sure,” she said. “We sell them. Here, this one suits you two.” She took one out from under the counter. It was identical to the one you’d seen before.
If this didn’t work, at least you were making progress. However, you were also getting more tired and your patience was worn thin. Akaashi had come to stand next to you and you looked at him.
“She thinks we’re a cute couple,” you told him, trying to keep the annoyance out of your voice.
“Couple? Oh, sorry, but we’re not a couple,” he told her. He turned to you. “You want some tea to warm up? Sun warms your skin but there isn’t anything like the heat from a cup of tea on a rainy day.”
“No,” you said. “We’re using this umbrella and we’re going back out.”
“You want to go back into that? Are you delusional?” He raised a hand to your forehead and you felt a sob rise in your throat.
“I’m fine, Keiji. Please, let’s just go.”
He frowned. “Alright. If you’re sure.”
Please. Please. You just wanted to escape. You just wanted to finally go on with your day with him. You couldn’t do this again. You wouldn’t make it. You were so tired.
You took a deep breath before following Akaashi into the street. It was still raining, you told yourself. It wouldn’t loop this time. You had the umbrella. What else could there be?
“C’mon, Y/N! Finding somewhere—”
You swore loudly and then clapped a hand over your mouth, feeling tears of frustration prick in your eyes. “Yeah. I know. It’s our best bet,” you said, wiping your eyes. “Yep.”
As you stepped into the aromatic café, you could feel your legs shaking and you slowed.
“Are you okay?”
You took a deep breath, feeling another wave hit you. “I’m tired,” you said, and began to lose your sense of balance. Your head was pounding.
Akaashi didn’t hesitate to support you with an arm as if it was the most natural thing in the world. You took a shuddering breath, successfully willing the tears to stop.
“Maybe we should just stay in here for a bit? Order some tea?”
You looked him straight in the eyes.
Akaashi Keiji, worrying about you. Still. Every single time you’d done this, he hadn’t once put himself over you. It was unfair to him, you thought, how you pushed him around but he always ended up taking care of you in the end. He was unfair. And you were completely, wholly, useless.
“What do you want, Keiji?” you asked, tilting your head at him. “What is it that you wanted to do today?”
He paused, looking at you through obscured glasses. “Anything,” he decided. “I’m happy with anything, as long as you’re happy.”
“That’s an awfully romantic statement for a cynic,” you said, and then pursed your lips. “They should put you on editing a shoujo manga.”
“Funny that you should say that…” He trailed off, seeing how intently you were looking at him. “What makes you think I’m a cynic, hm? I can be romantic.”
You had no complaints against being close to him like this again. He still hadn’t moved his hand from around your shoulders, the purpose of which you assumed had been to support you.
“Y/N, have I ever told you…”
Your breath caught.
“Did I tell you that they did assign me a shoujo manga?”
Damn it. “No, you didn’t. That’s funny. Who saw you and your skills and thought, ‘hey, this guy looks like he’ll be good with romance’?”
He smiled at this and for the umpteenth time you couldn’t say a thing, admiring him. You would think that after all this you would have been able to bear it, but obviously not.
“Y/N, are you okay?”
You smiled back awkwardly. “I don’t know why,” you said, “but I thought you were going to kiss me.”
His eyes widened. “Kiss you?”
You shook your head, stepping away from him towards the barista who you guessed had witnessed all of this. She said her normal line about your cuteness as a couple and you asked if you could buy an umbrella.
“I could kiss you,” Akaashi said when you walked back to him. “Do you want me to kiss you?”
You laughed at him. What was he trying to do, anyways? “It doesn’t matter.”
“Of course it does. What you want is important.”
If you were being honest, being in time loops and seeing it all over and over made you worry a lot less about word choice. “So then, I guess that makes you pretty important, Keiji. Because I love you.”
You weren’t usually in a rush to start the next do-over but this time you found yourself rushing him outside before he could respond.
Well, not before he could get three and a half words out.
“I love you t—”
You turned to him, reaching blindly. “What?”
“Finding somewhere we can wait it out is our best bet!”
This time, you grabbed his hand. If you were supposed to try every option, as he’d advised you all those attempts ago, then this was a valid attempt, wasn’t it?
“Hey, Keiji. Kiss me.”
“What?” The rain was loud, water slapping the sidewalk like a whip. Water ran down his face and arms. His blue eyes searched yours, clearly sure he’d misheard you.
“Kiss me,” you repeated.
He took off his glasses, squinting at you. “Why?”
You panicked a bit, trying to quickly come up with a response. “I’ve always wanted to be kissed in the rain like this. Come on, can’t we try it?”
“Do friends usually ask each other to kiss them?” he asked you bluntly. It seemed like a strange thing for him to raise his voice about, but thunder was overpowering his words so he had no choice.
“Maybe.”
You watched him think it over. Then, he took the side of your face in his slim fingers and you thought your heart would beat out of your chest. His fingertips were cold but you paid that detail no heed, instead focusing on the fact that he had already made a move towards you. But now, he paused. “Are you sure?”
“Don’t overanalyze it,” you replied. “Just do what you want, Keiji. Do what you want for once in your life.”
His lips were against yours and… well, it didn’t feel like he was just doing you a favour, you could tell that much. People doing favours did not kiss like this. You didn’t think someone like Akaashi was realistically capable of kissing like this, although you’d of course had your moments you’d wished for it. His hand was firmly planted on your waist, the other hand tilting your face ever so gently. His kiss was like an expression of everything he’d wanted to say. At this moment, Akaashi was realizing that after this you’d know it all and there was nothing he could do about it. But he kept kissing you and you backed up to the wall of the building behind you.
The softness of his lips — but the persistence of the kiss — made for a fluid and intimate embrace that only ended when he leaned back and stuttered, “Was— was that— was it okay?”
You nodded. “Let’s get an umbrella.”
Your mind was screaming at you. You’d kissed your best friend. You’d kissed Akaashi. No, Akaashi’d kissed you. He’d kissed you… passionately. You were sure your cheeks were a flame when, after you purchased the umbrella and left a tip knowing how many times the barista had had to sit through your time loop, she said “You’re a cute couple.”
You opened the umbrella as you stepped outside and blankly told Akaashi to put his arm around your waist like he meant it. And he did, asking you if you were alright in the meantime.
The umbrella stayed in your hands. Finally, it didn’t disappear, and Akaashi didn’t say anything about shelter being your best bet, and you were the couple.
It had only taken eight or nine tries. And a few risks.
You froze when the weight of the umbrella disappeared from your hands. Oh, not again. You couldn’t do this all again. But you realized within a moment that all that had happened was that Akaashi had taken the umbrella and was holding it for you.
“You seem tired,” he said. “Maybe we shouldn’t go to the beach even if it does clear up.”
“You got your wish, then.”
He looked at you in much of the same manner he had just before kissing you earlier. “Oh, no, Y/N. I’ve already gotten my wish.”

A/N: Shout out to @ideas-for-you-to-adopt for inspiring/writing a lot of the headcanons used for the “Bella Suspicion” part of this chapter!
I’m posting this a day early, because, well I’m flakey like that
* You spear another piece of pineapple, your teeth grinding together
* “I think that sounds perfect!” Lauren squeals lightly grasping Bella’s shoulder, Bella gives a small smile in return.
* You know what isn’t perfect?
* The fact that nothing is going according to plan.
* It’s already a month in and NOTHING has happened. You stab another piece of pineapple, sticking it into your mouth
* You’ve hung back in the school parking lot everyday for a MONTH, you were even late to cheer practice once, just to see if the “Tyler Van Accident”  happened.
* Only it never did, and you didn’t know why until Lauren confided that she and Tyler had been hooking up lately.
* As in hooking up at her house after school before her parents came home.
* Of course it’s not going to happen when Tyler’s ditching his last period to drive to her house
* What a mess
* You chew the pineapple carefully, just like a human would. Because even though Bella knows LITERALLY NOTHING. She somehow suspects everything.
* You watch her from the corner of your eye, making polite conversation with Angela about biology next period.
* The amount of questions she has about you is ridiculous
* How did you meet Edward? How does your family know the Cullen’s? Where are you adoptive parents now? If they’re back in the states why haven’t you gone to live with them?
* It’s literally never ending. And that’s just her trying to poke holes in your story.
* You’re not even going to start with all the stuff she’s commented on your physical appearance
* “Hey don’t you think it’s weird they all have gold eyes?” You had heard Bella quietly ask Jessica when she thought you couldn’t hear
* “Not really, they’ve got like six kids, so when one kid needs something more of them do too. (Y/N) told me Alice wanted color contacts so Dr. Cullen just bought some for all of them.”
* And then the week before that, while you were doing a stunt at a basketball game Bella said:
* “Aren’t they like, too strong?” You were lifting up a girl all on your own.
* “Oh yeah- I guess you never saw the video, apparently they’re jacked.” Conner says, with a shrug.
* “Yeah they heard working out helps with stress when they were like 12 and just never stopped.” Mike adds absentmindedly
* And if that wasn’t enough she’s even said this a few weeks before that:
* “Don’t you think it’s weird how beautiful they all are?” Lauren wrinkles her nose, at the time she had gotten used to Bella but she still doesn’t seem to like her very much
* “Not really, I remember (Y/N) wasn’t all that pretty freshman year, they used to wear these really dorky glasses.”
* You had almost started to forget how good you had it, after you did all the leg work in the last two years to establish that you were normal -just kinda quirky- you had just started to enjoy the pay off. A little more lax with your appearance, wearing clothes you liked, doing more solo routines in cheer.
* Only for little Miss.Curious to show up
* Now you have to try extra hard to look human again. And not just you, the entire coven does, because when one of you falls under suspicion you all do.
* Rosalie’s been making her hair look messy every so often to give the illusion that she’s having a bad hair day, Alice wears a retainer every so often, even Emmett pretends to need the bathroom more than he usually does.
* This morning you even had Rosalie do a fake pimple on your jaw.
* If Bella wasn’t going to be your best friends’ future wife, you think you might just hate her.
* You kind of sympathize with Rosalie in the book now.
* “Hey (Y/N) are you in?” Conner asks nudging his elbow against yours.
* “In for what?” You mumble, spearing another piece of pineapple. Another downside is now you have to eat at lunch. Otherwise Bella starts asking why you never eat and everyone gets really concerned and starts force feeding you
* God, all those years of establish you have low blood sugar and acid reflux induced nausea for nothing
* “La Push beach, we’re all going this weekend.” You perk up at the mention
* Finally, something’s getting back on track
* “Can’t, cheer stuff.” You mumble, shoving your food around your plate with your fork.
* You don’t miss Bella’s meaningful glance on your mostly full plate.
* Oh great, you can practically see the question “don’t you think it’s weird how they never eat anything?” Forming in the inner corners of her mind
* “What about you Edward?” Lauren flutters her eyelashes and you have to stop yourself from rolling your eyes.
* Lauren’s still annoyed that even though they’re hooking up, Tyler hasn’t made anything official yet
* Alice told her flirting with another guy might help.
* “He’s not going either.” You say before Edward can even open his mouth. He doesn’t say anything just gives you a questioning look and a smile.
* Looks like he’s finding everyone else’s thoughts more interesting
* “Are you guys going on a date?” Jessica waggles her eyebrows and on the other side of the table Bella sputters.
* You roll your eyes
* “No Jessica, but if I can’t go have fun neither can he.” Technically you both are forbidden to go on tribal land but whatever. “Best friend code.”
* Also you’re pretty sure Edward and Emmett are going to Yellowstone to eat bears or something, like a couple of heathens
* The thought of eating straight out of bear, no idea what they’ve eaten or where they’ve been doing their business, makes you shudder.
* You did mention to them both that if they happen to find an orphaned bear cub somewhere to bring it back. You’ve been wanting to experiment with bear blood.
* “Best friend code.” Edward repeats slowly, and the look he gives you makes your stomach flutter. And it’s not because you just ate half a salad.
* You’re knocked out of the look when Conner bumps his knee against yours
* “Well that’s a shame, I was looking forward to seeing you in a swimsuit.”
* So Conner’s been flirting a lot with you lately. Kind of weird, your best guess is that he was hoping to date Lauren, but now that she’s kinda seeing Tyler, you’re starting to look good.
* “Maybe you should have a pool party at that fancy house of yours then.” The group laughs but Conner just smirks
* “Whatever you want babe but-“ the bell cuts him off and you give him a consolatory pat on the arm.
* You move to throw away the leftover food on your plate, walking with Edward
* “We’re ditching right?” You ask him as you toss the plate into the trash.
* “Yeah Mr. Barnes is doing his blood type experiment today.” Like he even needs an excuse to skip school. “Do you want to go to the bookstore or something?”
* You shake your head, that won’t do, when Bella faints Edward needs to be there so they can fall in love
* “Wanna just hang out in my car? We can listen to that new Debussy CD I got.”
* Edward gives you a small smile, like he’s not really happy
* “Whatever you want.”
* Wait what’s up with that.
* “Hey, (Y/N)!” Bella calls out for you and Edward grimaces.
* “I’ll meet you at your car” wait he’s not going to stay here? If this was a dating video game he’d be the kind of player that wasted all the capture flags and then complains when they end up all alone.
* He leaves just as Bella gets to you. She spares a fleeting glance in Edward’s direction, almost looking sad as she watches him walk away before she looks to you
* “Are you heading over to biology?” She really is cute, like a puppy. She must have been hoping to get a little closer to Edward.
* You almost feel bad for not warning her what with her issues on blood.
* “Nah I’ve got to finish my trig homework so I’m going to skip.” You fake a yawn.
* Oh, before you forget
* “I actually got you something.”
* You hand her a carefully wrapped gift bag, compliments of Rosalie of course
* “Vitamins?” Bella asks, her eyebrows threading together
* “Yeah, it’s like a vitamin powder, you just add it to water. We bought a big family pack so I thought I would share some with you.”
* Also because you’re 100% sure she’s anemic.
* Part of the reason you like the way she smells so much is because of her anemia, if it’s just the peach scent you can probably contain yourself.
* You wave goodbye and Bella looks down at the package in her hands with a goofy expression. She hugs it to her chest before her expression pinches.
* “I should have offered to let them copy my notes” Bella murmurs to herself. Smacking her forehead and walking to biology.
* When you manage to sneak out to the parking lot through the gym doors, you see Edward leaning against your car, looking bored as he looks to the tree line
* “Why didn’t you sit inside? You look like a douchebag.”
* “I would have if someone had given me the keys”
* Like that’s stopped him before
* You unlock the car, letting it start with a hum before you pull out your trig homework
* You weren’t entirely lying to Bella, you really hadn’t finished you homework
* Edward pulls out a book from his bag, you’re not ashamed to say you’ve gotten him super into “The City of Ember” series
* “Hey why did you walk away when Bella came over?” you’re only half curious, mostly just trying to make conversation. “You don’t hate her do you?” You add with a laugh.
* The mere thought of Edward Cullen hating Bella Swan is laughable.
* “Yeah I do.”
* You find yourself coughing from the sheer shock.
* “You mean she frustrates you because you can’t read her mind.” Edward has spared you a concerned glance when you started coughing, but has turned his attention back to his book
*” No I mean I don’t like her, and I don’t like being around her.” He doesn’t look up from his book as he says it.
* “But why?” Yeah she’s a little plain, and she’s still pretty shy even though you’ve been hanging out for a month and all those damn questions
* But she’s got good taste in books, and she’s pretty straightforward.
* She’s not the type of person to go behind your back, if you did something to upset her she’ll tell you straight to your face.
* Honestly she’s a lot like Angela, minus the hidden cunning nature.
* Edward eyes narrow and a heavy sigh escapes him. His head tilts back to rest against the passenger seat headrest.
* His neck is so long and white. The color of freshly fallen snow. You can’t help but think of how pretty it would look covered in hickeys.
* Like poppy’s blossoming in the snow.
* Can vampires get hickeys? Would it just be like black instead of red since none of you really have blood anymore.
* “I just don’t like-” He cuts himself off when his eyes meet yours, they seem to shine brighter for a moment, and you tilt your head. This feels like a meaningful look.
* Edward sighs and looks away.
* “I just don’t like her vibe.”
*”Vibe? Are you an Edward shaped imposter?” you see him mouth ‘Edward Shaped Imposter’ as you both laugh.
* “Where did you learn to say these things?” He asks between laughs. You mock gasp.
* “The real Edward would never ask me that because he’s too afraid to know! Who are you really? What planet are you from?” Your hands move to his face, his face is as smooth as marble, lingering warmth. You leaned in without thinking about it, only a few inches away from him.
* You’re so close you can smell him. He always smells good, like something ancient and profound. Rosemary and argon oil.
* Your hands are still on his face and he’s grinning.
* You gulp
* You’re trying to think of another ridiculous imposter joke you can make wen you catch a familiar head of blond hair through the window.
* “Is that Mike and ... Bella?”
* This is a lot sooner than you thought, it hasn’t even been ten minutes yet.
* Edward looks almost bored as he follows your gaze.
* “Yeah, looks like she made herself sick, she’s - what’s that word for when people are afraid of blood?”
* “Hemophobia?”
* “Yeah, that’s what she has.”
* You wait for a second, releasing his face from your hands, but instead of moving to open the door he slumps back into his seat, eyes focused on his book.
* “Don’t you think we should go help them?” He shrugs.
* The f*cking criminal just shrugs.
* WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON?!?!
* Human or not, there’s no world Edward wouldn’t at least think about helping someone who’s in trouble.
* You’re starting to think this really is an Edward imposter.
* You watch Bella lean on Mike, stumbling down the crosswalk to the nurse’s office in the next building.
* You can’t watch anymore
* ‘You know you-” You words finally get Edward’s attention as he looks up from his book. “You are wasting all the capture flags!” You shout before sliding out of your car and jogging over to Mike and Bella
* “Mike! What happened?” He’s so surprised to see you his grip on Bella goes slack and she falls out of his side hold.
* “Oh crap!”
* You rush to catch her, swinging her into a princess hold.
* What was Mike struggling with so much? She’s not very hea - oh right you’re a vampire.
* “Are you alright, I know she’s kinda heavy.” Well that’s not very nice to say about a girl, besides she’s pretty skinny. Can’t be more than 120 pounds.
* “It’s no problem, I do it for cheer are all the time.” You do a fake grunt as you pretend to get a better hold on her.
* The movement jostle her awake, her eyes fluttering open. She’s still in a dreamy state, her eyes are unfocused.
* “(Y/N)?”
* “Hey buddy, looks like ya fainted, squeamish around blood huh?”
* “How do you know we were doing the blood type experiment?” Mike asks.
* Oh crap. You were skipping, you weren’t supposed to know that. Even worse you brain can’t seem to come up with a valid excuse.
* “Alice told us about it, (Y/N) used to be squeamish around blood when we were kids, didn’t want to take any chances” You let out a sigh of relief when you see Edward walking towards you. At least he’s not completely heartless.
*”Then why were you skipping?” Mike asks scratching his head. Edward shrugs
* “They can’t go to class, then I won’t go either.” And then the criminal looks you straight in the eye and says with the cheekiest smile imaginable:
*“It’s the best friend code”
* Oh f*ck off Edward.
* You almost want to scoff when he takes Bella from your arms and into his.
* SO now he wants to care about the capture flag.
* You let him take her though, You swear you see her stiffen and frown when he holds her.
* That can’t be right, she seemed super relaxed when you were carrying her.
* “I-I’m fine I can walk.”
* “No you can’t.” Edward bluntly says.
* Even when he gets to capture event, he says all the wrong things. You sigh as you walk behind him. Only to notice another set of footsteps by you.
* “You can go back if you want Mike, Edward won’t kidnap her or anything.” He might throw her into the lake though.
* Mike shakes his head. “No it just seems wrong to not make sure she at least gets to the nurses office.”
*You smile, he really is a kind boy.
* “Also I’ll be damned if Bella gives Edward all the credit.” Well mostly kind.
* You get to the nurses office, who seems incredibly flustered with both you and Edward in such a small space.
* She seems so preoccupied keeping her wits about her as she checks out Bella and deals with your presence that she never asks why three people had to escort one person to the nurses office.
* “Well your blood pressure is a little low, since you fainted I would suggest you go home. If you want you can take a nap in here until school’s out.” Wow, where was a nurse this generous when you were in school.
* Bella, the beautiful moron, shakes her head.
* “No it’s okay I’ll go back to class, I don’t want to take a zero for the assignment” Well that’s noble and responsible and all. But what does she think is going to happen when she goes back to class?
* She’s going to see some blood again and faint. Not that you can be mad, you would probably have to go the the nurse too if Bella ever managed to prick her own finger
* “Bella you really shouldn’t,” You settle your hand on her shoulder pushing her back onto the chair. “You just fainted you should lie down, or go home or something.”
* Her eyebrows thread together, mouth pulled in protest.
* “I don’t want to impose on any-”
* “It’s not an imposition, I want to!” Her mouth parts, then closes, stretching into a fine line. You look to Edward who’s avoiding your gaze and seems very irritated.
* Enemies to lovers trope it is.(Though you’re not sure if this counts as enemies if only one person dislikes the other)
* “I’m going to drop you off home, come on.” You pull Bella up by her hand, leading her to the parking lot.
* “Wait what about my car?”
* Oh you hadn’t thought about that.
*Hmmm in the original book Alice drove her home. But Alice doesn’t really do anything unless there’s something in it for her, or if she wants to.
* Also you’re pretty sure when she ditched today when she found out that people were pricking there finger on campus. She claimed it was for Jasper, but you’re pretty sure there’s a sale in the Nordstrom in Seattle.
* Edward would rather get the flu than drive Bella’s ancient truck.
* Which leaves only one option.
* You toss your keys to Edward who catches them with one hand.
* “Edward will drive you home in my car, and I’ll drive your car behind him.”
* “What about Rosalie?” He grumbles.
*“What about Rosalie?” Why is he being so difficult right now? Doesn’t he realize you’re doing this all for him!
* “You’re driving her home since Emmett and I are leaving for Yellow Stone as soon as school lets out.” Oh right the bears. Cr*p.
* “It’s not a big deal, I’ll drive back to school after we’re done and you can go your way and I’ll go mine.”
* You can tell Edward doesn’t like it, but he just sigh’s climbing into your car and then promptly getting out of the passenger side and sitting in the driver’s side.
* The dork forgot he had to drive the car.
* You’re dying laughing as Bella leads you to her car.
* “It’s the blue one.”
* Her truck isn’t all that bad. It’s old, but in a kind of retro way. It’s powder blue, with only two doors and no backseat.
* You climb in, turning the engine and hearing it purr. Well it’s more of a roar, but it’s not terrible.
* You’re surprised when Bella climbs through the passenger side door.
* “Um, you’re not going to drive with Edward?” She looks at you like you just asked her to recite the Fibonacci sequence.
* “Why would I go with him when you’re the one driving my car?” Okay, that’s fair.
* You sigh, why does nothing ever go according to plan.
* Maybe it’s for the best, Edward doesn’t seem to be in the best mood. Not that this is good either, she’s sitting so close to you, her peachy scent fills the small space of the truck and you feel lightheaded.
* It’s less than a ten minute trip, no need to get dramatic. You’re pretty sure you won’t kill her just because she smells nice.
* “Soooooo... what do you want to talk about?” You ask as you turn out of the school, this car is super slow compared to yours, you’re pretty sure it won’t go over 50 mph.
* Bella fidgets beside you, playing with the ends of her hair.
* “So are you and Edward...dating?”
* You laugh so loud you actually start coughing. And then you laugh again.
* “No-pfff- no We’re uh- we’re not dating.” You finally manage.
* “Why is that so funny to you?” She asks, genuinely confused.
* “Well it’s just outrageous you know?” How would that even work? You can’t even picture it. Edward getting all hot and bothered because you’re wearing an oversized sweater and glasses. You flirting with him all over the house in front of Carlisle and Esme. Edward signing up for a sport just so he can see you in his letterman.
* It’s all...impossible.
* And yet, there is one thing you can picture.
* Edward by your side, he’s almost golden brown, his eyes bright green. He points to the living room, and in there are Alec and Jane, both of their eyes blue as they argue over who’s turn it is to watch TV.
* Maybe if you were human, if you had met in a different world or a different time, that would be something you could have.
* But it is what it is
* “Edward and I have been friends for a really long time, we’ve just seen too much of each other to find each other attractive like that.”
* Bella looks like she doesn’t believe you but she doesn’t say anything.
* Wait what are you doing? This is the perfect chance to talk Edward up!
* “But you know Edward is a real stand up guy!” It leaves a little too forcefully, a little inauthentic.
* “Oh is he?” She doesn’t sound too excited to be talking about this.
* “I know he’s got one of those face-”
* “Obnoxiously handsome?” She spats
* “Like he thinks existence is a curse, and the world is evil and everything is terrible -” Wait you’re getting off track. “B-but he really is a good guy!”
* You bite your lip, as Bella tells you to turn into a subdivision.
* “You know after- after I was adopted,” After your parents died. “I was really lonely, I had a family that loved me and anything I asked for but I didn’t really have anyone to talk to” Oh god, why did you choose this story to pick? “Edward was probably the only friend my age I had for years.”
* She straightens up a little bit, a curious glint in her eyes.
* “Really?” You nod.
* “Yeah he would come by every Monday and Wednesday,” You still remember the crunch of the snow under your feet as you both walked to the barn. He always asked why you didn’t just run, and you always told him because you liked the way you could see your breath hang in the air,
* “He could have been out that time, hanging out with other people,” More well adjusted vampires, who hunted instead of harvesting small amounts from animals they raised. “or chasing girls and playing sports, but he stayed with me.”
* “He always made me feel safe, and I’m sure whoever is lucky enough to end up with him will feel that way too.”
* “I think you’re giving him too much credit” Bella finally says, you smile at her
* “what do you mean?”
* “Well, who wouldn’t drop everything to hang out with you?” You can’t tell if she’s being genuine or if she’s bitter. Your eyes meet hers and there’s a twinkle in them. ”My house is the one on the left, the one with the magnolia tree.”
* You come to a stop in front of the house she mentioned, shifting it into park, and handing her the keys.
* You don’t say anything as you climb out of her car. You see Edward stopped a few dozen feet behind her truck, your jeep still on.
* “Thanks for driving me home” She smiles at you, a real smile that reaches her eyes. It’s nice.
* “No problem, it gave me an excuse to ditch school too haha.” You both stand in awkward silence. Neither of you moving.
* Well damn what are you supposed to do now?
* “Oh, hey do you want me to bring you your homework or anything?”
* She perks up at that, reaching into her pocket
*  “If you don’t mind, could you text me what page he homework is on for trig today?”
* “ Oh for sure! No problem at all” You take her cell phone in your hand. It’s a white sidekick, with a picture of a cactus on the back. She must have gotten it when she moved.
* You can’t help but wonder if she has any friends she misses. She spent her entire life in one community, sure Phoenix is a pretty big place, but she must have had friends, people she sat with at lunch everyday, girls she had known since childhood, sleepovers where they whispered about boys they had crushes on.
* As you hand her phone back, your contact information saved in it, you can’t help but wonder who this person in front of you is. You know her, but at the same time, you know absolutely nothing about her.
* “See you Monday!” You wave goodbye as you get into the passenger side of your car, and Bella waits on the porch until you and Edward leave.
* Edward’s got that look on his face.
* “Edward why are you mad?”
* “I’m not mad.” He grumbles and you raise an eyebrow. He sighs.
* “You’re going out of your way an awful lot for that human.” He says as he turns back onto the highway.
* “It’s just the right thing to do Eddie.”
* He shakes his head, his mouth pinched into a frown
* “Just be careful, I don’t know what that one’s thinking, she could be planning to burn our entire coven for all I know.”
* You roll your eyes, yeah you bet Bella who weights exactly 115 pounds, and has anemia is single handedly planning to bring down the entire vampire race.
* “How about we make a deal, I’ll promise not to rock the boat while you and Emmett are gone-”
* “Why do I feel like I’m going to regret not covering my ears?”
*” If you promise to bring me back a bear cub - an orphaned one.” He gives you a look you don’t quite care for.
* “You want me to kill a mother bear so you can have a bear cub?”
* “No of course not! I’m just saying- Emmett doesn’t really look before he kills  so if he kills a mother bear, just make sure you bring me the cubs.”
* “Why do you even want a bear? How are you planning to take care of it with all those deer around, they need a lot-”
* “Yes Dad I know it’s a big responsibility, don’t worry I won’t make you take it on walks or anything.”
* Edward gulps hard, one hand detaching from the steering wheel to cover his mouth.
* Wouldn’t it be positively sinful for you to be underneath him, whining ‘daddy, please’ in that breathy voice of yours and-
* Edward.exe is broken.
* “Dude you really need to get your shit together before you go on your trip, we’ve been parked for fifteen minutes and your foot is still on the brake.” You say as you get out of the car
* He hits his head against the steering wheel.
* “Yeah, I really do need to get my shit together.”

-----
“Let this be a thing…”
You smiled at the possibilities of the situation.
“Let’s let this flow.  It’s my birthday weekend.  I want to have fun.”  You turned around and faced Daveed. “With you.”
You reached up and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. They were so succulent, but you didn’t allow yourself to get sucked in, literally or figuratively.  You had to get some control back.
You looked up at him and he was hopeless. He struggled to continue to hold himself back.
Daveed thought about how tight you were around his fingers. He would have you screaming in this fitting room again, this time with you impaled on his dick.
“That’s all that matters right now. I like this vibe.”
D nodded at you.  “You’re right.”  Daveed cleared his throat as you two gazed at each other.  “I guess we gotta find a way to get out of here.”
You chuckled. “Yeah.  The walk of shame.”
You straightened your clothes and gathered the garments you were going to try on escaping the fitting room with only a passing smirk from the attendant.
You giggled at his lowkey “Get it,” and Daveed rolled his eyes as you passed by.
You decided to get all of the clothes you’d wanted to try on, but got distracted from trying on because of your shenanigans.  You piled everything on the register.
Daveed was so unsure. About what just happened; about what could happen. He didn’t want to fumble this beautiful bag.
Before you could speak, he stepped up to the register.
“We’ll take them all.”
You gave Daveed a side eye. You smiled at the woman at the counter.
“Yes, I will.”
You opened your purse to get your credit card out, trying to remain calm and collected.
“Linden, let me.”
Daveed really thought he was about to pay for all of your clothes up in here. This was not it. He was assuming too much.
“No, Daveed. I got it.  Thank you though.”
There was no mistaking the acidity under your sweet tone. You didn’t know what Daveed thought this was….
“But, this is a lot. And it’s your birthday.”
Your smile widened even though your rage grew, “All the more reason it should be my prerogative.”
“Lindy…”
“Daveed.”
You stared at each other down for a hot minute and then finally Daveed just closed his mouth and watched as you pulled a black amex card out of your wallet and signed for the total, which was over $2200.
You didn’t blink an eye.
The fun you shared in the fitting room was long gone.  Things had gotten real tense real fast.
“Can I at least help you carry them?”
You ignored Daveed as you struggled with the bags, then put them down on the corner of the street outside the store.
You got your phone out to order a ride.
“What the fuck was that Daveed?”
He took you in, your little angry body turning him on.
“I was trying to be nice.”  Daveed couldn’t hide his irritation with you.  Was this even worth it?
“Why do you think that paying for my stuff would be ‘nice?’”
Daveed was confused.
“Well, I know you’re not with Mark anymore and you were in school and everything and Columbia is expensive. I just didn’t want you to have to go into more debt on your birthday weekend.”
“Why would I be going into debt?”  Your eyes were full of murder.  “Shit Daveed, you just don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”
You looked up at him as if you were going to fight him. Daveed wondered how many times he needed to make you cum before you would calm down. He was going to find out.
“Obviously I don’t, because I don’t know why the fuck you’re mad at me because I wanted to do something nice...I-”
A car pulled up beside you.
“That’s just the fuck WHY Daveed.  You don’t know anything about me.”
And then you grabbed your bags, flung them in the back of the car and got in, leaving Daveed on the corner of a street in Isabella, Puerto Rico, wondering what the fuck had just happened.
------
You were actually vibrating with rage all the way back to the beach house. You texted Jas for the combination to the front door and let her know where you were.
She made a remark about giving you and Daveed time alone and you didn’t correct her, you just  needed some space.
You got your bags into your room and then went back out to the kitchen for a bottle of water.
Daveed came in as you sat and drank, looking out of the great room windows.
You sat up straight on the stool and tried to ignore him.
Daveed had ordered a car as soon as yours drove away, vowing to find out what that scene was all about.
He had not had to chase anyone in a long time and he felt like he was way too old for it.  But he couldn’t help himself.
Now, he was standing here approaching you like a wild animal.
“Do you want to tell me what just happened?”
You just tried to will this intrusion into your life and your emotions away.  Maybe if you ignored him he would disappear.
You just could not take anymore pain and Daveed was dangerous.
He could hurt you. Bad.
“Linden.”
Daveed came around beside you and watched your profile as you closed your eyes and tried to shut him out.
“Please.”
Damn.  You swallowed and opened your mouth to speak.  You almost couldn’t say the words. You continued to look at the ocean.
“Dell takes care of me.”
Daveed looked at you carefully. You continued to stare straight ahead.
“The accident. The driver of the truck that hit us was drunk AND high. The company knew of his history and didn’t take him from behind the wheel.”
You took a deep breath and continued.
“We had good lawyers. I not only list my twin, but my left ovary and the ability to have children without a very involved medical procedure.”
Daveed really didn’t want to hear anymore. He felt terrible.
“There was a 30 million dollar settlement, 5 million to my mom with 25 million in trust until I turned 25 years old.”
You didn’t know why you were telling him all this.
“So when I say I got it, Daveed. I got it.”
You looked at him, something in your eyes that spoke of strength and brokenness.
Daveed wanted to throw himself off a cliff as he watched the tears roll down your cheek. Got damnit he was such an idiot.
“I’m sorry, Linden….”
“Don't be sorry Daveed. I just can’t do this. I can’t let you hurt me like Mark, like every other person who thinks they know me.  I can not…..”
You just shook your head and walked toward your room.  Daveed’s long legs got ahead of you and he just stood in your way as you walked.
“Linden. I’m not going to let you run away.”
You two played a slow game of human foosball.  After a minute, you just stopped.
“Move Daveed.  Let me go.”
He put his arms up, but he didn’t move.
“I’m not holding you.  But I’m here Lindy, and I’m not going to leave you alone.  I’m sorry that I made such a boneheaded assumption, and I’m sorry I made you bring up something so painful.  But I’m not like everyone else.  I think I…”
All of a sudden, you wanted him to stop talking. You grabbed him around his waist and gave him a hug, sobbing into his chest.
Daveed brought his arms down around you and held you while you cried, just as he did that first night. He still felt good.
This time, however, was different. Daveed bent down and picked you up, taking you into your bedroom bridal style.
He kicked the bags out of the way and lay down with you on the bed.
“Daveed, I…”
“I just want to hold you Lindy.  Relax.”
You stopped protesting and went with the flow. You let him hold you and did as he instructed, you relaxed, your head on his chest, listening to the slow, steady beat of his heart under one ear and the ocean out of your other.
You felt the soothing thrill of him playing on your scalp and with your curls with his left hand as his right caressed your left leg, which was thrown across his thighs.
Before he knew it, you were softly snoring in his arms, and Daveed knew that his fate was sealed. The road to your heart was full of landmines, but he had to try to get there.
------
You woke up to the sounds of giggling.
Jasmine and Craig were standing over you and Daveed on the bed.  You were a little confused, but you and D woke up to an audience.
“Whyyyyy are you still fully clothed?”
You grimaced at Craig and threw a pillow at them as Daveed sat up and grinned.
“Get the fuck outta my room Craig.” He dodged it successfully.
“We ain’t got time for you to waste all weekend NOT fucking around.  Chop chop.” Craig walked out of your room as you stuck your tongue out as his back.
Jasmine laughed at you and followed him.
“We’re going to have dinner out by the pool if you wanna join. Swimsuits required. The chef will be here in a few and Craig and I want to get some sun before the show tonight.” She looked at you over your shoulder as she left.
“Or if you two want to stay in, that would probably be dope too…”
You shook your head at her back as she closed the door.
------
You sat up on the edge of the bed, feeling a bit awkward.  You put your head in your hands and let your curls hide your face. What the fuck were you on? It was like you had experienced the rollercoaster of a relationship, all in 18 hours.
Daveed sat up against the headboard, eyeing you warily.
“I want you Linden. I’m sorry for assuming earlier, but you gotta let me in so I know how not to.  I need you to be absolutely clear about what you want.”
“I… I want you too, Daveed. I’m just really scared about being hurt again.”
He closed his eyes when he heard your admission. Slowly but surely.
You raised your head and looked over at him.  You’d exhausted him already.
“I don’t want to hurt you Lindy.  But we’re both human. And too grown for the games.”
“I don’t want to play any games with you Daveed.  I mean… well….”
He opened his eyes and stared at you. He heard the invitation in your tone. This was a dangerous situation. He looked at his watch.  It was about 4 pm.
The show started at 10 and although he wanted to start something and finish with you all afternoon and night… it might have to wait.  He leaned his head back and fantasized.
“What are you thinking about?”
Daveed opened one eye. He was attractive as fuck. He opened the other one and then closed them again.
“You don’t wanna know.”
You were intrigued.  You turned toward him and put your leg up on the bed, half indian style.
“Yes I do!  I must know all the things.” Your voice raised at the end of the sentence, making D smile.
Daveed wished he had the time to tame your control freak ways.
“You really don’t.”
“YES I DO.”
Daveed opened his eyes at your tone and you immediately calmed it down a bit, while your heart beat faster.
“You tryna stay in this room or you want to go out on the deck with everyone else?”
You looked down at the bed and bit your lip. You saw his huge hand on the bed, the veins prominent and the fingers impossibly long.  You looked back up at him and swallowed.
“W-we should probably join Craig an ‘nem….”
That stutter.  Oh, the control Daveed was utilizing at the moment.
“Then you definitely don’t want to know what I was thinking.”
Fuck. Now you definitely did want to know.
You pulled your other leg on the bed and then sat on your knees.
“Pleeaseeee Daveeed.”
You. Begging.  This was heaven or hell, Daveed couldn’t figure out which. But he didn’t move from his position, just clasped his hands in his lap.  Because reasons.
“Actually, you on your knees made up a lot of my thoughts.”
You smiled a little.”So, you want me to suck your dick?”  You’d decided to try it.
Daveed grunted and then looked to your face.
“That sounds nice.  Those pretty lips wrapped around my dick.  I wonder if you could take it all? Gag reflex?”
Instant waterfall. You moaned a little, and were so mesmerized you couldn't answer. Daveed sped on.
“But don’t be so unimaginative.  You on your knees can involve lots of things.”
Daveed moved, not too fast, and came around the bed behind you.  You shivered as he put his hand on your neck and then trailed it down your spine.
“Up. Let me see that arch.”
You obeyed of course, on your hands and knees on the bed, the arch in your back perfect for fucking. Daveed was looking at your ass and you hoped he couldn’t see your wetness beginning to trickle down your thigh.
“You could be on your knees with me behind you, eating you out from behind.”
Daveed kneeled behind you, face to face with your barely cloth covered crotch. You moaned as you felt him get nearer to your core. Daveed stopped.
“You good?”  You nodded frantically, and Daveed continued closer.
“We’re gonna need a safeword.”
“Holy fuck!”
“Nah, that wouldn’t be a good one, because I have a feeling you might be saying that a lot.”
Daveed placed three kisses at your core, one on either inner thigh, and one on the strip of his jeans covering your clit. You started clenching as he pulled himself away, licking his lips. He’d captured some of your moisture on his mouth. You tasted better than he imagined.
“Or you could be on your knees riding my face, letting me drink from your pretty little fountain.”
Daveed sat on the floor and placed his head between your legs on the bed, looking up at your pussy in his jeans.  He just looked, not daring to touch you or himself. You reached down and caressed his curls.
“Daveed, please..”
“No, no. You wanted to know what I was thinking.”  He slid out from under you like a mechanic.
He stood up behind you, put his hand on your ass and smoothed all the way down to the back of your neck, pushing your head down to the bed.
“How about me behind you on your knees, face in the bed with you keeping that ass up, while I pound that shit from behind? I wanna see that ass shake as I give you these back shots.”
And Daveed started the motion, pushing his hard, jeans covered dick into your ass, rubbing at first and giving you some friction, but driving you insane.
You turned your head to the side to moan as Daveed pulled his hips back and snapped them forward, then sped up and gave you a pounding through your clothes.
Daveed hooked his fingers into your shorts, about to pull them down, when he stopped. He shook his head, trying to clear the sex high from his brain.  He stepped back.
You lay panting on the bed, lost in the moment.  You took a deep ragged breath to calm down and then turned over on your back.  You watched him watching you, knowing that he was holding back from fucking the shit out of you.
“What are you thinking Daveed?”
His voice was so damn deep. “That I want you to be ensconced around my dick. That I want all kinds of orgasms to happen, that you need to be cumming right now, Linden.”
He then cleared his throat.  “But that we probably have an audience right outside that door right now.”
“Hmmmm. I agree that I need to be cumming right now.”  You smiled at him and stretched.  ”But what about you Daveed?”
“Not quite yet. That HDD will be on point for the show tonight.”
You  got up on your knees, facing away from him and moved your hand to the waistband of your shorts. He watched in fascination as you touched yourself, your slick more than lubricating your fingers.
“What about me riding you on my knees. I LOVE Reverse Cowgirl.”
Daveed’s eyes began to water as he saw the vision. He saw your arm moving and your hips undulating. He moved behind you and pulled you to lean back onto him, your shoulders against his chest as he looked down to watch you finger yourself under the shorts.
So fucking sexy.
“What are you doing?” His velvet voice in your ear was everything.
As if he didn’t know. As if he couldn’t see. As if he wasn’t just doing the same thing less than two hours ago.  The view from over your shoulder was the shit.  Damn shame there were clothes involved, but the fact that they were his clothes made it pretty hot.
“MM.mmm...mmm…” You were gasping, his voice and proximity getting you there quickly.
“No, that won’t do.  If you wanna be a Good Girl for me, you gotta use those words.”
“Fuck.. I mean… Yes. Sir…”
You heard his chest vibrate with a whimper when you said that.
“What Are you doing Linden?”
Your eyes rolled back in your head and it lolled against Daveed’s chest as he brought his hands up to your hips to help keep you steady.
“I- I’m trying to cum, Sir…”
“Where is your hand?” Daveed was intently using his imagination to visualize.
“Nnnnh nnh, circling my c-c-clit…”
Daveed huffed.  “Good Girl.”  He gripped your hips harder as they shook.
“Are you wet like you were earlier?  That shit feels like, like, liquid satin.  Man, I can’t wait to be deep in that…”
He dipped his lips to your neck, eyes glued to your arm emerging from your pants.  He bit at your pulse point.
“Ah!”  You were sooo close.
“I just hope you can take it all. S’pretty big.”
You whimpered at the thought of the pleasure, and at the yearning to be filled up right now.
“Ohhhhhh.” So very close.
“Need time to prepare you. It might hurt a bit at first.”
You bit your lip at the spring was about to snap.
“But I think I know that you like it to hurt a lil bit... I don’t give a fuck if you get mad, I might have to buy you some nipple clamps…”
His hands moved smoothly up your sides under the t-shirt and cupped your breasts, ghosting over your rock hard nipples.  Suddenly, he took each between his thumb and forefingers and twisted roughly.
“FUCKKKKKKK!!”
Your body rocked at your orgasm and you took your hand away from your core, too sensitive to continue. Daveed grabbed it and took it to his mouth, sucking your juices off, causing aftershocks to jerk your hips.
He moaned with your fingers in his mouth and then released them, kissing your neck again.  He chuckled.
“You wouldn't get off that easy if I had the time.  I’d make you take all of everything.  Including your orgasms. Better be ready.”
You turned around and stepped off the bed into his arms. Daveed held you, not daring to go down to the bed again.
Your head was on his chest.  Even after all that, you were too shy to look up in his eyes.
“How do you make me cum doing the bare minimum? You hardly touched me.”
Daveed smiled.  He felt the same way.  He was about to nut in his pants like a teenage boy a few minutes ago.
“You sure you want this?”
You finally looked at him.  Those eyes.
“Yeah.’
“You sure you want all this crazy?”
“Mos def.” Daveed kissed your forehead and smiled down at you, eyes crinkling adorably.
It was time for your hands to roam.  You palmed him through his jeans.
“Let me take care of you D….”  You moved to unbutton him and he pulled out of your reach as you pouted.
Daveed smoothed his thumb over your lips.
“Like I said, I’d like nothing more.”  Then he cocked his head and looked up.  “Well, I’d like few things more… but If my dick comes out in this room right now, we would not leave for the rest of the weekend.”
He leaned down to kiss you with a sweet and filthy promise.
“Patience, Lindy.” He took a deep breath and backed toward the door.
“See you at dinner.”
You just stared at him, daring him to stay.
“Ok. Leave then. But Daveed. If I hear you turn my doorknob, I’ll be faceup on the bed butt-ass naked, waiting for you if you come back in.”  You started unbuttoning and unzipping your shorts.
Daveed stopped with his eyes wide, the angel and devil in his head wrestling with each other. He finally cleared his throat as he turned around and left.
“See you at dinner Lindy.”
The vision of you bending over toward him taking down your shorts with an evil smile was burned into his brain as he closed your door.  He stood there looking at the floor and contemplating going back in.  When he looked up, there were four pairs of eyes looking at him.
He straightened up and went to his room as his friends watched him like a hawk, then rolled with laughter.
-----
Daveed hopped in the shower, and quickly got himself off to calm down.  He slipped on some blue swim trunks and his white sunglasses, ran out and cannon balled into the pool, causing Jasmine to cuss him out as he splashed her hair.
Tumblr media
He’d been chilling on a pool float a good twenty minutes when he saw his favorite animal out of the corner of his eye. Damn.
“Look at that genius ass.”
Rafa commented and looked over from the float beside him and laughed at Daveed who was crossing himself.
“Dude! You’re jewish.”
Daveed cocked his eyebrow at his best friend.
“I’m gonna need all the help I can get.”
You’d spent 30 minutes picking out your most modest swimsuit, then grabbed a quick shower. You were shy by the time you walked out onto the pool deck, but no one was paying that much attention to you.  No one, except for Daveed.
Tumblr media
His chill disappeared as he climbed out of the pool, over to your lounge chair.  Your sunglasses only partially hid you clocking him as he emerged, dripping wet.  Damn, that body you thought.
He walked over to the chair next to yours and picked up a towel and started to dry off.
“Hey. You good?”
You smiled at him.
“Hey. I’m great.” You smiled wider.
You appraised him, as the delicious smell of something cooking wafted from the house. The sun was still bright, even though it was afternoon.
“You need a hand with some sunscreen? You’ll want to make sure that it is on evenly.”
You stood up and bent at the waist to get the sunscreen out of the bag you’d brought out. Daveed licked his lips and you were all too ready to get your hands on Daveed again.
He looked at you and bit his lip.  “Sure, why not?”
He cocked his head and eyebrow at you.  Then, he raised his hands to the side of his body..
Your mouth started watering.  You went around to his back and resisted the urge to put your arms around him and rest your head on him.
Instead, you evenly distributed some cream on his well-sculpted shoulders and back.  You let your fingers dip a little bit into his swim trunks, feeling the top of the muscles contained within.
“Turn around.”  Your voice was everything at that moment to Daveed.  He did as you commanded.
“You don’t think I can take it from here?”  He questioned you as you squeezed some more cream into your hand.
“I have a technique. I can make sure it’s on evenly.  Its already out of the tube.”  You looked him dead in the eye as you rubbed your hands together, listing the reasons why you should keep your hands on him.
Diggs chuckled, then let you have your way.
“I’m all yours."
His eyes held a look like he meant it when he said that. Your heart did a funny dance.
You held his gaze as you spread the cream on his shoulders and out to his arms.  Then, you got some more cream and started on his pecs.  You spread it on, rubbing your palms against his nipples.
Daveed’s eyes closed in ecstacy.  Then, your hands went down.  You traced his eight pack as you continued to stare him in his eyes which opened as you started going south.
You licked your lips as your hands went where his happy trail would have been if he hadn’t shaved.  At that moment, his cock jumped and you were so close you could feel it.
Your eyes widened when you remembered that you were not alone….
Shit!
You and Daveed both turned your heads and saw your friends watching the show as you were about to go for the gold in Daveed’s swim trunks.
The deck erupted into screams, whistles and applause as everyone laughed at your lust.
You both blushed and moved apart.
“Okay pervs, the show is over.”  Daveed said as you moved to sit on the beach chairs.
D returned the favor for you;  his hands on your body having the same effect on you as earlier, but the difference was you were self conscious now.
-----
Dinner was chill, and you two enjoyed your surroundings and your friends, both of you sitting as far apart as possible.
The dance you did was delicate, but everyone noticed the new intimacy despite the high sexual tension. You drank some wine, but not too much, and Daveed had about two Johnny Walker Blacks.
Rafa led the discussion of music, politics and culture and the weekend was vibing.  You were very content in the moment. By 7:30, Daveed, Rafa, and Ant had to start to get ready to leave for the show.
You walked him inside and you shared a few kisses.  You felt like a kid as he held you.
“Daveed.”
“Yes?”
“Daveed, tonight I want….” you looked into his eyes, which were meeting yours boldly.
“What do you want Lindy?”
“I want you to be with me tonight, Daveed. Spend the night in my room.” Daveed was on top of the world.
“Done.  But I want you to decide after the show what we're going to do in your room tonight Lindy.  We can just go to sleep.” His smile was mischievous.
You didn’t understand. “You playing hard to get?”
That heat, that anger in you. That was that shit he liked.
“Oh. I’m not hard to get. Get me hard Lindy.” Knowing full well he was a second away form just that.
“Meet me backstage after the show.”
He pulled away and went into his room, leaving Linden hot, bothered, and soaking wet.

Get in loser, we’re going shopping!
Summary: Before his second date with Tohru, Uotani and Hanajima stage a fashion intervention
Rating: T
Also on AO3 and FF.net.
Of all the people he'd expected to run into outside Shishou's dojo, it definitely wasn't Wave Girl and the yankee.
"Yo!" Uotani saluted, Hanajima silent beside her.
He furrowed his brow. "Tohru's not here."
"Yeah, we know."
"So why are you here?"
"For you."
....That never meant anything good. And he did not like the gleam in their eye.
Were they finally going to kill him…?
He made to bolt but felt two sets of arms loop through his own, halting him in place.
"O-oi! Let go!" He squirmed.
"Nah, you're coming with us."
"Coming with you where?" His voice cracked in annoyance. "And why can't you just ask like a normal person?"
"We knew you'd say no," Hanajima finally spoke, voice as monotone as ever. "And that would simply not be an acceptable answer."
Uotani's grip tightened as she started practically dragging him away. "Come on, Carrots, this'll be over quicker the less you struggle."
He twitched in irritation. He'd wanted to spend time with Tohru before Yuki got home.
"I'm sure Tohru-kun can spare you for a few hours. You do live together after all, do you not?"
Was this girl actually a mind reader? He never could tell.
He slumped in defeat. He wasn't gonna win this, was he? And it's not like he could fight a girl, let alone two of them. He wasn’t a scumbag.
"Can you atleast tell me where we're going?"
"You'll find out when we get there."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"A department store," he said flatly.
"Yep!" Uotani popped the p. "We're taking you shopping, Kyon!"
"For what?"
"You and Tohru-kun have a date tomorrow, do you not?" Hanajima cocked her head.
"Yeah, why?" And then he recoiled. "Don't tell me you two are planning on coming again."
"Sorry to disappoint, but you’re on your own this time," Uotani said sarcastically. "There's only so much of the goo-goo eyes I can take."
He blushed. "Don't say it like that." But then he furrowed his brow. "And what does that have to do with why we're at a department store?"
"My, he really is quite dense, isn't he?" Hanajima said.
He twitched in annoyance which only increased as Uotani gave him a scornful look. "Seriously, Carrots? You need clothes to wear on a date."
"I have clothes at home."
"Those don't count!"
"Why don't they?"
“Because after what you wore to the zoo, we don’t trust your decisions.”
He bristled. “What was wrong with what I was wearing?! We were outside and it was comfortable!"
“You looked like you just rolled out of bed. No effort at all. You’re lucky Tohru’s nice.”
“Whatever,” he scoffed, "She doesn't care what I wear.”
"You think so?" Hanajima asked him skeptically, giving him an unreadable look.
Tohru didn’t care...did she? She had worn a dress but she was always wearing stuff like that. Should he have put more effort in? Did she actually hate how he looked? Did she put her two friends up to this because she didn’t wanna tell him herself?
"Well," Uotani clapped his shoulder, interrupting his spiral, "Let's get started. I have a shift in 2 hours."
"Great," he said unenthusiastically, as the two women steered him towards the men's aisle.
He sat on the nearby bench and listened as they rustled through hangers. This brought back memories. Last time he'd come to a clothes store was when they were buying that swimsuit for Tohru. His face heated a bit at the memory. She really had been cute in it. Just wish I’d gotten to tell her that..
"Kyon, what size are you?" Uotani called, breaking him out of his daydream.
"I dunno. Large, maybe?"
A pause. "How do you not know your own size?"
"I don't buy clothes. Look, just take a guess and pick something. I don't care."
She stood in front of him, menacing. "What kind of attitude is that when we're kindly taking the time out of our day to help you?!"
"I never asked you to!" He yelled back, outraged.
"Don't tell me you're one of those guys who thinks they’re too good to go clothes shopping!”
"How awful," Hanajima said unhelpfully.
"It's got nothing to do with that!" Up until a couple months ago, he never expected to need any. "I just don't really buy things," he settled on saying instead. "It's a pain."
"Isn’t your family like super rich though?"
He tsked. "That's got nothing to do with me.."
"How intriguing." Hanajima put a finger to her chin. "The Sohma family remains a mystery."
They were both silent for a minute before Uotani punched her fist. "Well, it's decided then!"
"What's decided?" He asked warily, even though he knew he was gonna regret it.
"This shopping trip is on us!" And he was right.
"I'm not some charity case," he said scornfully, "and you should be saving your money for yourself."
"We're not doing this out of pity, you idiot, we're doing it because we're your friends."
He blinked. That was the first time they'd referred to him as a friend and he was...kinda touched.
"Well, thanks, but no thanks. Like I said, I have clothes at home and Tohru doesn't really worry about things like that."
"Perhaps not," Hanajima agreed, "but don't you think she would be happy knowing you wanted to look nice for her? It's only the bare minimum of what she deserves."
……………...
Goddammit.
Uotani slapped his back and he jumped. "Yeah, don't think of it as buying yourself stuff. Think of it as a gift for Tohru."
He did wanna look good for her. He wanted to give her everything he could. She deserved the world.
"Fine, you win."
Uotani grinned. "Oh this is gonna be fun!" And then she started dragging him away.
He released his arm from her grip. "Look, if we're gonna do this, then I get the final say-so. It would be stupid for you to spend money on something I hate."
Uotani blinked. "Huh. That's weirdly thoughtful of you."
“What do you mean 'weirdly'?”
"Alright, let's narrow down colors.” She completely changed the subject.
“Oi, don’t ignore me.”
“What's your favorite color?"
“I said don’t-” His annoyance was replaced with confusion. His favorite color? He’d never really thought about it… “Um...Orange…?"
She made an X with her hand. "Denied."
"Why?"
"Your hair is orange. It would clash."
He furrowed his brow. "But if they're both orange-"
"Hanajima, what do you think?" She asked the girl next to her, ignoring him again.
"Black," Hanajima said passively.
"Of course you would say that," he muttered.
"No wait, she's got a point." Uotani put her hands into a square, and peered through it. "Your hair is already bright so black would actually be a really good contrast." She set her hands down. "Do you like black, Kyon?"
He owned a few black things. "I...guess?"
"Okay, so black’s an option. We're getting somewhere. What other colors? How about blue?" Blue made him think of Yuki and he wrinkled his nose. He saw Uotani snort and then say, "Okay, no blue then. Shame. I think you'd look good in a navy. Or maybe a midnight."
She was being weirdly nice to him today and it made him uneasy. But this was for Tohru, right? Would Tohru like blue? She wore blue sometimes, so maybe she would.
"I guess…" he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment, "a darker blue would be okay."
“That’s the spirit!” She slung an arm over his shoulders that he had to shrug off. Hanajima was already sifting through racks.
“What about this?” She held up what looked like a conservative turtleneck sweater.
He raised an eyebrow. “Are you joking?”
“What’s wrong with it?” Uotani asked defensively. “It would make you look artsy.”
“I’m not ‘artsy’ and when have I ever worn anything like that?”
“Are you dumb? The point of this is to find things you wouldn’t wear normally. Because, y’know, you wanna actually look good for once”
They were really testing his patience. And he didn’t have a lot to begin with. “Are you dumb? It’s the middle of summer!” He fired back. “Plus, I hate collars. I wouldn’t be caught dead in that.”
“Shall we test that theory?” Hanajima asked, an evil look in her eye.
“Please don’t.”
Uotani looked like she just had a revelation. “Huh. So is that why you don’t wear a tie with your uniform? Because you hate collars?”
“I don’t really like anything around my neck.”
“Wow. And here I thought you were just going for the ‘cool delinquent’ look.”
“I’m not you.”
“Hah?!” She glared at him. “And what’s that supposed to mean? You wanna fight or somethin’?”
He wasn’t gonna rise to that bait. “I don’t fight girls and you’re just proving my point.”
“Arisa,” Hanajima called, “We’re running out of time.”
Uotani blinked. “Oh, right.” And then like nothing happened, she mumbled, “So no collars then. Got it.”
And then she picked up what looked like a shirt that could fit a child. “What about this?”
“Now you’re just screwing with me.”
“Aww, c’mon, it could be like a crop top. You’re like a black belt or whatever, right?” She made to jab his side and he dodged. “You gotta have some muscle. If you show off some ab, you might get lucky.”
His face heated up. “Oi, stop saying things like that in public! You really have no shame at all, do you?”
She rolled her eyes. “Y’know for someone who apparently never goes shopping, you’re a real pain in the ass to buy clothes for.”
“Good,” he responded sarcastically, “Can I leave then?”
She grabbed his sleeve to keep him in place. “Yeah, no. But nice try though.”
“Nothing here is suitable,” Hanajima said matter of factly. “We should go to a different section. Perhaps the one over there?” And she pointed towards the right corner, where he saw an assortment of mannequins with crisp button-downs on display.
Uotani nodded. “Good call!” And then she tugged on his sleeve like he was an unruly child. “C’mon, Kyon, let’s go.”
He followed after in defeat. He could be pretending to do his homework with his girlfriend right now..
Uotani grabbed what looked like a black button down and held it up against him. “This could be nice.”
“I have a black shirt like that at home,” he said, hoping maybe that could get him out of this.
She curled her lip in disgust. “This isn’t black, Kyon, this is midnight blue.”
He furrowed his brow. “What the hell’s the difference? It looks black to me.”
“Ugh, you really don’t know anything about clothes, do you?”
“I told you I didn’t!”
“Disgraceful,” Hanajima said disdainfully from behind. “How shameless of you to get this color confused for black.”
Why is she acting like I insulted her, personally?
“I do feel insulted,” she responded.
He jolted. “Quit doing that!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After getting a bundle of clothes shoved in his arms and essentially pushed into a dressing room with a “Kyon, try this on”, he’s just been sitting in this stall for the past 10 or so minutes. It wasn’t ideal, but atleast it was peaceful. He couldn’t even remember the last time he’d really bought clothes for himself like this. He would normally just pick it from the rack and leave.
He checked himself out in the mirror. It was...not bad, actually, but he couldn‘t admit that or he would never hear the end of it. That button down from earlier that they swore was blue (it looked black to him), a light gray V-neck and some tan pants (what’d they call it? Corduroy?) that were a bit tighter than he was used to, but not unbearable.
“Oi!” He heard Uotani call from outside obnoxiously. “Are you dead in there?”
He rolled his eyes and sighed. He could just ignore her, but she would probably barge in here and drag him out and he wanted to keep whatever tiny bit of dignity he had left.
He slumped through the curtains. They both just stared at him, without saying anything, and it made him wanna crawl out of his skin. Uotani circled around him like he was a trophy on display and then started rolling up the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows.
She circled around him again, narrowing her eyes and then whistled. “Wow. We should’ve done this a long time ago. Hanajima, what do you think?”
“Indeed. I can almost see the appeal.”
He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. “Well, glad I got your approval I guess-” and then his brain caught up. “Wait.” He glared at Hanajima. “What do you mean ‘almost’?”
She gave him a blank stare. “Which part was confusing?”
“What do you care anyway?” Uotani chimed in before he could retort, “It’s not like you’re dating us.”
“Thank God for that,” he muttered.
Uotani gave him a flat look, but thankfully, didn’t hit him. “Well, that outfit’s a winner. Let’s go find some more.”
What. “More?” he asked in disbelief.
“Well, yeah, you can’t live with only one outfit, Kyon.”
He stood in front of her, blocking the way. “No way, I only agreed to the one. And besides, didn’t you say you had a shift? We’ve already been here for over an hour.”
She shrugged, easily walking by him. “True, but now that we’ve narrowed down what you’d actually wear, it should be easy enough to find things that are similar.”
He grimaced. “Look, I don’t need you to-”
“Will you stop fretting?” She cut him off. “Geez, you’re almost as bad as Tohru. Just let us do something nice for you.”
He didn’t wanna have to owe any favors to these people.
“We don’t have any ulterior motives if that’s what you’re wondering,” Hanajima said, in response to his thoughts.
“Seriously, stop doing that,” he groaned, “It’s creepy as hell.”
This was a losing battle. He sighed and just followed them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He heard whispering behind him and out of the corner of his eye, saw a group of girls all whispering and giggling to each other.
“C’mon, go talk to him,” he heard one whisper.
“No, I can’t,” he heard another one, “What if one of those girls is his girlfriend?”
He glowered at that. Why did people just assume things like that? It pissed him off.
“Oi,” he heard Uotani next to him, “Those hot girls over there are checking you out.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, they’ve been there for like 5 minutes. So?” Since when has he ever cared about that?
She gave him a surprised look. Did she think he hadn’t noticed?
“Huh. You really don’t have eyes for anyone except Tohru, do you?” He thought that was obvious. “Hmm, well, that’s good. Atleast we don’t have to worry about you cheating.”
He bristled. “You have some nerve! I would never do that.”
“Correct,” Hanajima agreed, and then she got a sinister look. “Because if you did, terrible things might happen to you.”
He blanched. “I get it. Please stay away from me.”
He thought they would go their separate ways after that, but they insisted on walking him home.
“Why are you coming?”
“Hmm? What’s that tone?” Uotani started grabbing his face, squeezing it. “We just wanna make sure no one tries to kidnap that pretty face.”
He roughly pushed her arm away. “Get off me! And I don’t need two girls to protect me!”
“Then how about just allowing us to accompany you so that we might say hi to Tohru-kun?” Hanajima asked.
“I-” He sighed, “Whatever, do what you want I guess.”
It was when they came inside, he saw Tohru sitting at the table, doing what looked like homework.
“Oh! Kyo-kun!” She got up to grab his shirt around his waist. “Kunimitsu-san said you left a while ago so I was starting to get worried.” And then she seemed to notice the two other people behind him. “Uo-chan? Hana-chan? What’s going on?”
“Someone was trying to kidnap Kyon so we rescued him.”
Tohru paled. “Heh? Kidnap?”
“Don’t lie to her, you’re gonna freak her out.” And then he flatly said, “They hijacked me.”
“Who’s lying now?” Uotani made to chop him in the head, but he dodged. “We took your boyfriend on a little shopping trip.” And then she winked which made him reassess his ‘no hitting girls’ policy. “You’re welcome.”
Tohru just furrowed her brow in confusion which was really fucking adorable and he had to resist every urge in his body to not kiss her. Not in front of those two. “Um...shopping trip for what?”
“Well, our job is done!” She patted him on the back. Hard . “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
Hanajima actually smiled. “Have fun tomorrow, Tohru-kun.”
Tohru lit up, confusion over the shopping trip forgotten. “Oh, thank you!”
And just as suddenly as they had appeared in front of him earlier, they were gone, and he slumped. Those two were exhausting.
“Um, Kyo-kun?” He heard and saw that she looked a bit worried. “Did you guys...get along okay?”
Well, he made it back alive and intact so… “Yeah, I guess so.”
“Oh, good. What did you talk about?”
He shrugged. “Nothing much.” And then seeing his opportunity, he smirked. “They told me how you spilled on what a terrible boyfriend I am.”
“Heh?!” Her face went red as a firetruck and she started babbling, “I didn’t-I wouldn’t- um- please believe me I-”
She is so cute. He bent down to kiss her nose. “Calm down, I was kidding.”
She closed her mouth, but her face was still beet red. “You’re always teasing me,” she pouted.
“That’s because it’s easy,” he patted her head, “And you like it, don’t you?”
She averted her eyes out of embarrassment, which only made his own grin wider. She cleared her throat. “That’s a big shopping bag.”
“Hmm?” And then looked down at the bag he was still holding, full of a few different outfits that those two women had strongarmed him into. “Yeah, I guess it is.”
“What’s in it?”
His first urge was to just show her since she asked, but something held him back. He had gone on that nightmare, allowed Uotani and Hanajima to treat him like their own personal toy...he wasn’t gonna let that go to waste. He was gonna milk it for all it was worth.
“Can’t tell you,” he said to her look of curiosity. “It’s a surprise.”
“Surprise, huh?” she mumbled to herself, and he braced himself when he saw the gleam in her eyes.
“Ha!” she shouted, as she swiped for the bag only to be met with air as he switched it to the other hand. Her look of confusion was precious.
He chuckled, “You didn’t actually think you were being sneaky, did you?”
She huffed in defeat and he would always cherish seeing this part of her. The childish part. “Will I get to see one day?”
“Yep. Tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” she perked up. “Sounds exciting.” Her eyes widened as she looked at something behind him. “Oh my gosh, it’s 6 already? I gotta start dinner.”
“Did you want help?” he offered. Any time spent with her was worth it.
She grinned. “Nope! I think you would just be more of a distraction actually. I can handle it.”
He froze, feeling warm all of a sudden. A...distraction? Was she...hitting on him?
“Oi, you can’t just say things like that so casually.” It’s not good for my heart.
She cocked her head innocently. A little too innocently. “Huh? What do you mean?”
She was definitely baiting him...and he so badly wanted to go for it, but Shigure was probably in his room listening like the creep he was and Rat Boy would be home any second if he wasn’t already.
“Nevermind,” he sighed out, “I’m gonna go upstairs.”
“Oh, okay.” And then she pecked his cheek. “I’ll call you when dinner’s ready.”
He grunted in acknowledgement, his face still burning.
In the two years he’s known her, he would’ve never pegged her as such a flirt.
He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t into it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He assessed himself in the mirror critically. He wasn’t stupid, he knew he wasn’t bad-looking, but was this really the kind of look Tohru would be into? What if he went through that shopping trip of Hell just for her to tell him it never mattered?
A light knock on the door. “Kyo-kun, I’m heading downstairs,” came her sweet, muffled voice.
He sighed. Why was he acting like a scared little kid anyway? It wasn’t like this was their first date. And they’d already agreed to spend their lives together. He had nothing to worry about, not with her, even though there was a tiny part that kept reminding him he didn’t deserve her in the first place.
He opened the door to find the hallway blissfully empty. Shigure was probably at the main estate doing god knows what (and he really didn’t wanna know) and Yuki was at his girlfriend's place...or something. It really wasn’t his job to keep track of them.
He saw her standing by the front door and felt his breath leave him. She was wearing a dress he’d never seen before (was it new?); it was a light pink and modest, but her shoulders were completely exposed, the usual sleeves resting over her upper arms. His eyes wandered below the shoulders, noting how it curved around her chest and conformed to her waist, ending just above her knees, leaving most of her smooth, fair skin on display. Damn, she’s so-
“Kyo-kun, are you alright?”
“That dress…” was all he managed to say. “Where’d you get it?”
“Oh! Um- Uo-chan and Hana-chan got it for me as a birthday present.” Those two bought her this? Tohru looked away shyly. “Do you like it? I thought it might be too much but they were insistent and-”
He surged forward to kiss her to cut her off. He broke away quickly before it could get heated, and stroked her lips with his thumb. “You’re really beautiful.”
Her face went so red he thought she would combust and paired with that dress, it was so, so endearing and he was half-tempted to just say ‘fuck the date’ and keep her here while they were alone.
She pushed his face away gently, trying to hide her own. “D-Don’t look at me like that while being so nice. You’ll make me not want to leave.”
Oh really?
“Hmm?” he teased, “What do you mean by that?”
“Nothing,” she lied. But then she recovered, though her cheeks were still pink. “You look really handsome in this, Kyo-kun. Is this what you were doing with Uo-chan and Hana-chan?”
“Something like that.” And then he smirked. “What, are you saying I’m not handsome normally?”
“What? No, of course not! You always are! What I meant was-”
He set his fist on her hair gently. “It’s fine, dummy, I’m just teasing.” Hearing her confirm it with no hesitation did make something warm spark in his chest though.
She didn’t respond and when he looked down, he saw her eyes roving up his body. Very slowly. And that warm feeling turned into something hot.
“I suppose I’ll have to thank Uo-chan and Hana-chan later, won’t I?” she said, her voice low and breathy.
“I guess we both do.” He grabbed her hand, kissing the tips of her fingers lightly, watching as her dark eyes stayed fixated. “You ready to go?”
“Yes,” she whispered and as he opened the door for her, allowing her to step in front of him, he was starting to think he owed those two women a favor after all.
Maybe he could give them flowers or something..

A Winter’s Flight
By Drazzilder
Chapter 11: Cold
You and Enji are takings couple of days to yourselves. It has been so busy that you need a quick break. You take the sports car to a house you rented and begin to enjoy the nature of the forest around you. Fuyumi said she would watch the house while you both were gone and Natsuo and Shoto were at school. She sneezed a few times before you left but she said it was nothing. Enji still was a little worried about it but she said to enjoy the time off.  You are there only a few hours before Enji gets a phone call.
“*cough-cough* Dad….”
“Fuyumi? Are you ok?”
“No… *cough*”
“We will be there in just-“
“No… you two need a break *cough*. Could you call Keigo…”
Enji just stares blankly and looks towards you. You just nod yes and Enji sighs. “Fine. I’ll let him know.”
“Thank you….” She hangs up.
You walk to Enji and rub his back. “Let him take care of this. We could use a little break.”
He looks at you with some unease “I don’t know.”
Zaheer speaks from inside of you “Just trust him a little. Think of this as a test.”
“Fine…. Do you have his number?” he asks with some shame.
“Really? I added his number to your phone and you deleted it, didn’t you?”
“Yea, I’m sorry.” He mumbles.
“Here…” is all you say as you hand him your phone.
~
Keigo is just flying in the sky, just relaxing as he watches the city below. Even though it is his day off, he still like to fly. Something about being up in the sky he finds very relaxing. He hears his phone ring which brings him out of his head and picks it up.
“Hey (Y/N), what’s up?”
“It’s Endeavor. I need to ask a favor of you.” Replies stern as ever.
“Oh, hi!! What do you need?”
“Fuyumi is sick and we are out of town. I need you to take care of her.”
“Sure thing! I’m on my way.”
“Thank you.”
Keigo hangs up and head towards tot Todoroki residence. When he enters, the house feels cool, like the heat was shut off for a while. He wanders the home for a while until he finds Fuyumi huddling in a corner next to a heater. The closer he gets to her, the colder it gets.
“Fuyumi? You don’t look so good. Is everything ok?”
“N-n-no… *cough*”
Keigo wraps his wings around her and the heater to try to keep her warm. “Is this better?”
“Y-y-yes…”
“We need to get you warm. Would a hot bath be good? Don’t worry, I won’t look.”
“G-get my S-swimsuit.” She barely gets out the words as her shivering is getting worse by the second. He quickly picks up her and takes her to the bathroom. He turns on the water and rushes to her room to look for a swimsuit, which was easy to find hanging in her wardrobe. Back at the bathroom, he just jams his arm through the door crack and she puts on the suit and enters to tub.
“Ok…” is all she says to signal Keigo to walk in. The water is almost to her neck but she still looks cold.
“At least you’re not shivering now. What happened.”
“Looks like the cold I got is affecting my quirk. Normally I get a little cold but this one is going overboard this time.”
He takes a rag and uses the bath water to wet it and place it on her head. “Hmmm, wait! I have an idea when you get out of here. Stay in the tub while I get some hot ramen, we can sit in the living room with the heater and blanket.”
“Dad might get upset if he finds out we are eating in there.”
“He said to take care of you, I’m going to do what I think is best. I know you trust me.”
“I do. Go ahead.”
He quickly rushes to a local shop and orders a big bowl of ramen for Fuyumi. By the time he is back, she has exited the tub and is dressed in the bathroom, shivering again.
“Looks like I came back just in time.” He says holding up the bag of food. “Let’s get you downstairs.”
Once on the couch, she sits there as Keigo gets a bowl ready for her to eat. He tries to put the tray on her lap but she is shaking too much. He just sits down next to her and holds the tray while she tries to eat. The tremors have moved to her hands as well as he can see the noodles flop about while she tries to eat them. She gives up after one bite out of fear of making a mess. The look on Keigo’s face indicates he has an idea. He takes the ceramic spoon and scoops up some of the steaming broth. Fuyumi looks confused at first but when she sees the spoon approach her lips, she gives up and opens her mouth.
“You are shivering too much to eat easily, I know it might be weird but I need to help you, we need to warm you up.”
“Thank you.” Is all that she can say as Keigo takes another spoonful of ramen to her lips. This continues for a while until she starts to warm up a little, enough that she can sit still. Keigo goes to put the dishes away and takes a moment to walk around the house when returning from the kitchen and notices something in one of the rooms.
“Fuyumi? What’s this?” He says as he holds up a large plush doll.
“Oh, that’s (Y/N)’s. Bring it here, it might help.”
“How is a doll of Endeavor going to help?”
“Look.” She then squeezes the doll and they both hear it say “Prominence Burn!” as she holds it tight. She takes his hand and pulls it to the doll.
“Oh? It warms up?”
“This was the same doll (Y/N) had as a kid. It’s a prototype that would heat up. Dad thought it was cute that (Y/N) had an Endeavor doll as a kid so he managed to find a replacement. (Y/N) said it was the only warmth he has a kid but we can use it now to help me.”
“Awww…”
“He didn’t know Endeavor was a real person because of how isolated he was. When he saw dad at the crossing, he knew he had to do something.”
“That is adorable…..” Keigo starts to look embarrassed at something but looks away before Fuyumi can get a good look.
“What’s wrong?”
“Oh… please don’t laugh if I tell you.”
“I would never.”
“Well….  I used to have an Endeavor doll too. When I was young, we didn’t have a lot and it was the only thing I could call as my own. My father wasn’t a good father as well but Endeavor arrested him and saved me. It’s because of him that I became a hero.”
“Ahhh. That’s cute.”
He smiles with embarrassment again. “Thank you for not laughing. I always liked the big guy; he is a great hero to look up to. When I found out all of the stuff you told me about your father was actually Endeavor, it was a huge shock. But, finding out he is better now and still wants to be a better father every day, it makes me want to be better myself.
“We are all human, we make mistakes.”
“You know, when I first visited him at his agency, it kind of flopped. They all said I was too cocky and immature.”
“That doesn’t surprise me coming from dad, but even (Y/N)?”
“Yes, but that may be him trying to make Endeavor happy, he does have to live with him.”
“Do you think they are right?”
“I guess a little.”
“I can see you are trying and I know it’s hard. It took my dad years before he finally broke down and admitted his faults.”
“But I don’t want to wait years!”
“Everyone is different, but you are much younger and less stubborn. Let’s try together.”
“That sounds like a good plan to me.”
“For now, can we just relax here. I’m starting to get cold again.”
“Here.” Keigo sits down and motions her to move onto his lap. When she settles down, he wraps his wings around her. Between the doll and his wings, its starts to get nice and warm, enough for Fuyumi to stop shivering. She is so tired from being cold that she falls asleep rather quickly. Keigo follows soon. Around midnight, a blue flash of light appears in the back yard. You and Enji enter the home and find the two sleeping on the couch.
“See, I told you everything would be fine.” You whisper.
“They feel asleep like that?”
“Looks like he was trying to keep her warm.”
“He really cares about her, doesn’t he?” He says almost defeated.
“Yes. Now can we go back?”
“Fine, one second.” Enji quietly approaches the two and gently places a kiss on her forehead and then walks back to you. “Ready.” Is all he says when you teleport back.

Cherry Blossoms (2)
Kagami comes to a horrifying realization
Read on AO3
---
One thing Kagami did dislike about spring time was all the pollen in the air. Allergies had hit her hard these past coming weeks. Her eyes were watery, she couldn’t stop sneezing, and there was a persistent tickle in her throat that would not go away. Medicine helped but it didn’t block out everything which was a shame. Especially when Kagami was at home and trying to be quiet around her mother and she had to clear her throat every ten minutes.
She could not afford to be dogged down by allergies today though. In the days that had passed since Kagami had met Marinette, the girl that made Kagami’s world pink, they had gotten closer. Adrien was not joking about how easy it was to want to be Marinette’s friend. She was like a large blooming flower and everyone around her were buzzing bees or fluttering butterflies.
While the stand out feature about Marinette was her overwhelming kindness and positivity Kagami was noticing that there was a lot more to her. Marinette could be a bit of a dork. She made bad jokes just like Adrien and got excited about really mundane stuff. She was also incredibly smart. Not just booksmart, the girl was legitimately very clever. Coming up with new solutions to problems that work spectacularly well. She was a leader but treated everyone as equals when they worked together. She never talked down to someone, even when their ideas were stupid.
Kagami was starting to wonder if Marinette had any faults. She seemed too perfect to be real.
Then came the day that they went out to the pool. While the weather had gotten warmer everyone was impatient to get to warmer weather and summer time. So to chase away the hay fever blues Kagami and her friends had decided to go to the swimming pool at the local gym.
Kagami came out in a conservative red one piece bathing suit that was more practical than pretty. The others came out in full in their own swimming attire. Then Marinette walked into the room and all eyes turned. Kagami breathed out in relief when she saw the large yellow cover up Marinette was wearing. Maybe Marinette was one of those people that just liked to sit at the edge with her feet in the water. That would be the safest option. No need for anyone to have a sudden nose bleed at seeing her in a swimsuit.
Just as Kagami had predicted Marinette sat on the sidelines talking with her friends with her feet in the water. Kagami swam up to her.
“This was a nice idea,” Kagami said, “Getting everyone together to go swimming. Everyone seems to be having a lot of fun.”
“Some more than others,” Marinette giggled and pointed across the pool where Kim was trying to get his girlfriend Ondine on his shoulders for a chicken fight. “They do know that the lifeguard is going to yell at them for that, right?”
“The lifeguard is too busy eyeing up Juleka to notice,” Kagami said.
“Oh geez,” Marinette cupped her hands around her mouth, “She has a girlfriend! Stop ogling! She’s way too young for you anyway!”
Kagami stifled a snort. “Wow, didn’t know you were just gonna yell at him like that. I didn’t think it was possible for you to get mad anyone.”
“Oh my sweet Kagami,” Marinette said, “You don’t know how fired up I can really get. That was tame in comparison.”
“Really?” she smirked, “Didn’t peg you as the hotheaded type. What does it take to get you of all people angry?”
“Having a lack of human decency for one--gimme a second--” she shouted at the lifeguard again, “She’s sixteen, gay, and in the three foot end of the pool! How about you pay attention to the idiots on each other’s shoulders over this way!”
The lifeguard sneered but blew his whistle to get the others to stop.
“Marinette!” Alix whined from atop Ivan’s shoulders, “I was just about to win!”
“Boo!” Kim called, “Marinette’s a rat!”
“Don’t get upset at me because you were being irresponsible.” Marinette called back.
The four teenagers shared a look and as one pulled themselves out of the pool and started making their way towards where Marinette and Kagami were. What were they planning? Marinette seemed to sense what was about to happen and scrambled to her feet.
“Oh no you don’t!” Kim grabbed before she could escape, “Ivan, get her feet!”
Ivan scooped up Marinette’s flailing feet.
“Don’t you dare!” Marinette screeched but there was a playful smile on her face, “Kim, I swear if you throw me in the pool you will live to regret it.”
“I think I can live with that,” he smiled back, “On three. One...two...three!” the boys tossed Marinette into the deep end of the pool in a mass of flailing noodle limbs.
She surfaced again sputtering and coughing as she cleared the water from her nose. Everyone was laughing and having a good time.
“You okay?” Kagami swam over to her.
“I’m fine, they’re just a bunch of jokesters who are going to get their comeuppance one day. You hear me, Kim!”
“I’ll believe it when I see it, girly!” Kim cackled and took off with the others once more.
Marinette pulled herself back out of the water and stripped off her now soaked cover up. Kagami almost had a stroke. Underneath her modesty saving cover up was a black two piece that complimented her petite figure perfectly. Kagami turned away so she couldn’t see her blushing face.
Stop it! Stop getting so flustered! She’s just one girl!
Kagami glanced up and noticed that the pervy life guard that had been ogling Juleka was now looking their way. Was he mad that they called him out on being a creep? No...that wasn’t the face of someone who was angry. She looked back at Marinette who was ringing out her coverup and settling it over a chair to dry.
Not today captain pervert! Kagami climbed out of the pool and threw her towel over Marinette. She looked up at Kagami confused. “Hi there, why did you--”
“That lifeguard needs to get reported or something. His eyes were practically glued to your butt, the pig.” Kagami sneered.
“Gross!” Marinette pulled Kagami’s towel closer, shielding herself from any unwanted attention. “I was thinking about getting in the pool but I really don’t want to now.”
“There’s a hot tub in that room over there that no one is using and the lifeguard can’t see into. Did you wanna go in there for a bit?” Kagami suggested.
“Perfect,” the girls adjourned to the hot tub, all the while glaring daggers at the perverted lifeguard. Kagami was going to report him before they left today. Now safely away from the prying eyes the girls sunk into the steaming, bubbling water with sighs of relief.
“Swimming is well and good but I think there’s something very nice about just being able to lounge like this.” Marinette sunk down in her seat so the water lapped at her chin.
“It is rather nice to be able to unwind after a long day, maybe I should try to talk my mother into getting one of these at home. It’d be a god send to have it for after fencing practice.” Kagami hummed in agreement. “Hopefully the steam can also help with my allergies. They have been a nightmare recently.”
“That sucks. Medicine doesn’t help?”
“Not as well as it should.” as if to prove her point Kagami’s throat began to scratch and tickle again. “Ugh,” she coughed, “I think the steam is trying to dislodge the mucus so that’s a plus at least.”
Oh god she just talked about mucus in front of Marinette.
“Poor Kagami,” Marinette wrapped her thin arms around her. She rested her head on Kagami’s shoulder. “It’s such a shame you have to suffer during one of the most beautiful times of the year.”
“Yeah…” Kagami stifled another cough, “Really stinks…”
Marinette let go but didn’t move back to her spot on the other side of the hot tub. Instead opting to sit right next to Kagami to talk. Kagami was thankful for the heat since it hid the hot red blush in her cheeks. How could Marinette be this comfortable when Kagami was fighting to keep herself together?
A few minutes later everyone had to leave. Apparently the pervy lifeguard from before hadn’t learned his lesson and turned his gaze on Alya. Nino rightfully got pissed that this creep was eyeing his girlfriend and they got into a fight. Not the best way to end what was supposed to be a fun outing but at least the lifeguard had gotten what was coming to him.
“We should do this again when someone less creepy isn’t on lifeguard duty.” Marinette sat on the edge of the hot tub, reluctant to leave the sweet warmth just yet.
Kagami nodded in agreement. She had already gotten out and was toweling off. She was trying her best not to stare at Marinette. The last thing she needed was to get caught admiring the way the ends of her hair curled when they dried or the sprinkling of freckles along her shoulders. Or how her face was extra rosy and dewy looking from being in the steam. Or how jealous she was of the droplets of water that ran down her arms and back like a sweet caress--
Oh for the love of teenage hormones! Stop it!
“Since we had to cut this short what do you think about grabbing some juice?” Marinette swung her legs out and slipped.
“Marinette!” Kagami caught her just before she could fall and righted her back on the edge of the hot tub. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, thanks for catching me,” Marinette had settled her arms on Kagami’s shoulders for stability. It was at this moment Kagami realized that she had grabbed hold of Marinette’s waist and was now standing between her spread legs. Marinette smiled down at her like none of this bothered her in the least. It probably didn’t. Of course it wouldn’t. Why should it? She was Marinette and Kagami was just the nice friend that kept her from slipping off the edge of the hot tub. Nothing more to think of. Certainly nothing that would make one combust from raging hormones.
“Of course,” Kagami let go but stayed close enough to help if Marinette fell. She didn’t. Good. For numerous reasons.
“Now I have to insist on getting juice,” Marinette said as she started drying off, “A thank you for saving me.”
“It was really nothing. Don’t feel like you have to award me for being a decent person.” Kagami told her.
“Nonsense, besides, it’s just juice.”
“Alright then,” Kagami couldn’t say no to her, “Juice sounds wonderful.”
“Great! I’ll ask the others if they wanna come too!” Marinette bounced happily out of the room to talk to the others.
Once Kagami was sure she was alone she balled up her towel and screamed into it. This cannot be happening! She cannot be catching feelings for Marinette! Why did god have to put such a beautiful and perfect specimen of a girl in front of her and expect her not to fall? She was like the first warm breeze of spring that cut through the wintry cold. What was Kagami next to her but a chipmunk in hibernation waiting for her to return and be awoken? There were probably a million people that felt that exact same way and yet none of them probably thought of her as anything more than a friend while Kagami had to suffer with her pitched emotions. Every day since she met her those feelings bubbled closer and closer to the service and Kagami wasn’t sure how long she would be able to keep them in.
Most of the class went to get juice after they finished changing. At least in a crowd Kagami could put some distance between her and Marinette. She seated herself at the other end of the table next to Adrien and sucked down her drink to avoid talking.
“You okay?” Adrien asked, “You’ve barely said a word since we left the pool. Did the lifeguard put you off? I can understand if he did.”
“It’s not that,” Kagami sighed, her gaze flicking over to Marinette for the briefest moment, “I just have a lot on my mind.”
“Anything you want to talk about? I’m always here if you need someone.”
“Thanks, Adrien, but I don’t know how you can help in a situation like this. It’s nothing really. Just stupid teenage crap that I am terrible at handling because I have never had to deal with something like it before.”
“You unable to handle something? That’s a first. What could have the great and fearless Kagami Tsurugi so thoroughly flummoxed?”
More like who. Kagami thought sadly. This time when she glanced at Marinette she saw her and waved. Kagami swallowed back another gulp of juice before waving back.
“You know,” Adrien said, “If you don’t feel comfortable talking to me about it maybe you can ask Marinette. She loves helping her friends and she’s seen and dealt with all of our teen drama. There’s nothing the girl can’t handle.”
“I’m sure but it really is nothing. Certainly nothing to bother Marinette about.” How would that conversation even go? Hello, Marinette, I believe I like you and may even be falling in love with you the more I get to know you and I don’t know how to handle that while still remaining your friend. Thoughts? She may as well tear out her heart and offer it up on a silver platter for her to eat while she’s at it. It would certainly be less painful and a lot quicker.
The group adjourned for the day and Kagami said a quick goodbye but not before Marinette grabbed hold of her and pulled her into a hug. “Have a nice evening, Kagami. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Bye!”
“Goodbye,” Kagami whispered the word but Marinette was already huffing it away from the cafe.
“Hey! How come I didn’t get a goodbye hug?” Adrien pouted, “Lucky you, I knew you two would get along great.”
“Yep.” Kagami coughed, “Lucky me.”
She locked herself in her room when she returned home. Her cough had come back with a vengeance and no allergy or cold medicine would relieve it. Her thoughts would not still either. Every time she closed her eyes visions of Marinette from today assaulted her. It felt like she was back in the hot tub choking on the heat and steam. Marinette’s head on her shoulder, Kagami’s hands on her waist, that dazzling smile beaming down at her with gratitude.
So pure. So kind. Like a bundle of pink cotton candy that melted into decadent sugary sweetness on her tongue. Goodness, this girl was turning her into a poet if nothing else. Just saying that she was beautiful and kind and fantastic wasn’t enough. It would never be enough.
Another raucous round of coughing wracked her body and tears sprung to her eyes with the intensity of it. When it finally ended she rubbed the tears from her eyes and gazed down at the three little pink cherry blossom petals in her lap. She picked one up and inspected the delicate flower in the waning light of the setting sun. Where on earth did these…
A hand flew to her throat.
Oh...
Oh no.
For the second time that day she grabbed for something to smother the intensity of her screams.

Ch. 6: Is he the father? (20 weeks)
“Hello, my name is (L.Name, Name), but you can just call me (Name). Thank you for taking care of me.” She bowed.
“Welcome to the team, (Name)! We’re so excited to have you join us here.” Aya Nakamura bounded over, eagerly taking (Name)’s hands in her own. Her bouncy brown curls shook in her excitement. “You can just call me Aya, I don’t mind.” Aya was another recreational therapist who (Name) was set to work alongside. “Follow me, I’ll show you around.” Aya let go of her hand, leaving the lobby as she led her through the building. “The first floor is for all of our facilities,” she explained, pointing out the various rooms, “through those doors are our locker-rooms, and past that is the pool. On the other side is the weight room.” They walked past a pair of double-doors, a male walking out of it. “Oh, Makoto! C’mere.”
The male stopped, throwing his towel over his neck. He was wearing a swimsuit. “Hi Aya! Is this the newbie?”
“Hello,” (Name) bowed in greeting again. “I’m (Name). I’ll be in your care.”
Makoto laughed, shaking her hand. “Thanks for joining the team! I’m excited to work with you.” He looked down at Aya, “make sure to add her to the group-chat!”
“Don’t worry, fish-boy, I will.” Makoto laughed again, waving to them as he headed towards the pool.
“Fish-boy?”
“Oh right, Makoto used to be a pretty good swimmer. He switched over to sports medicine though,” Aya waved her hand dismissively, “something about his best friend.” They continued down the hall, passing more doors. “These are the individual training rooms. Each of our clients are granted privacy when it comes to their rehabilitation, unless they’re in the pool and weight room.” (Name) nodded, mentally taking note of everything. She hadn’t realized how immense the facilities were. “There are also dance studios available to the right for yoga and other related activities.”
“This place is so nice!” (Name)’s eyes widened.
“Isn’t it? I love working here.” Aya beamed. “I’ve been here for the past two years, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.” They arrived at the elevator, taking it up. “So, tell me about yourself, (Name). What made you want to be a recreational therapist?”
(Name) giggled, brushing her hair behind her ear as she adjusted her bag. “Well, all of my friends were in volleyball. I loved watching them being so passionate about something, and after becoming their manager, I realized that I genuinely wanted to be around other people like them. To help them make their dreams come true.” The elevator opened, arriving at the second floor. “That, and I know that I’ll be helping people other than athletes be able to regain normalcy in their lives.”
“That’s so cool! Y’know, one of the other trainers here is actually a former volleyball player. My boyfriend too.”
“Oh really?” They entered the employee space now.
“Yeah! I’ll introduce you to them sometime.” Aya glanced around the lounge. “Anyways, this is the employee lounge. You can come here whenever you have a break to have lunch or whatever. Clients aren’t allowed here.” They walked through a door on the opposite side of the wall. “Here’s the cafeteria. The cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch. If you want dinner, you’ll have to preorder it during breakfast and pick it up before they leave for the evening.” They walked back into the lounge. “Coffee and tea is always available in the lounge, though.” Aya giggled. “We normally don’t have many late-nights, but that also depends on your clients. If you have clients that can only see you in the evenings, then that’s when you’ll see them.”
“That makes sense.” They left the lounge, walking down the hall.
“Here are all of our offices! We each have our own, thank god.” Aya stopped at the first door on the left, opening the door. The door was decorated with flowers, a weekly calendar posted on the wall under her name-plate. Times were blocked off with black blocks, revealing no additional details. “This is my office! If I’m not with a client or I’m just hanging out, then I’ll leave the door open. Please feel free to stop by if you see it open.”
(Name) surveyed the office. There were posters of muscle diagrams, and at Aya’s desk, there were fresh roses. An empty owl coffee mug sat next to it. A familiar face flashed in her mind. She shook her head before offering her new coworker a smile. “Those are lovely flowers, Aya.”
“Aren’t they? My boyfriend dropped them off this morning,” Aya giggled. “He also got me that cute mug!” Aya shut the door, continuing down the hall. “All of the recreational therapists have their office in this hall. The trainers and medics are located in a different wing.” They stopped in front of a door on the right near the end of the hall. “And this is your new office! Make sure to lock it every time you leave and lock your drawers when you aren’t here.” Aya pulled out a key, unlocking it and handing the key over to (Name). “Feel free to get settled and comfortable. Kayda will probably stop by in twenty minutes to introduce you to your first client. She’ll sit in with you on your first few sessions, just to make sure you get the hang of things. I’ll see you at lunch!” With a final wave, Aya left (Name) to her own devices.
The office was nice, albeit small. There was an examination table to the left side of the door with a seat besides the door. On the right wall were cabinets full of medical supplies. Under the counter were drawers for her patient folders. In the corner between the examination table and cabinets was her desk. Two monitors were already set-up with a dock that awaited the new, company-issued laptop that was sitting in her bag. (Name) took a seat, pulling the laptop out and docking it. As she waited for the laptop to connect, she pulled out some more personal items. A box of her favorite pens was tucked into her drawer, alongside with her other stationary items. She placed her purse in the bottom drawer, gently shutting it as she placed the rest of her items out. A leather-bound planner sat beside her. Leaning against the wall was a picture of her and the Nekoma volleyball team from when they won against Nohebi to qualify for the spring tournament. Her fingers traced the familiar faces, landing on her and Kuroo. Kuroo had an arm thrown around her shoulders, pulling her into his chest as he used the other one to pull a reluctant Kenma into the frame. Her heart fluttered. The sound of her laptop booting up shook her out of her reverie. Cracking her knuckles, she logged in. She was so excited for her first day of work!
****
(Name) let out a satisfied sigh as her client left. “Thank you so much, (L.Name)-sama!” He waved, stepping out of her office and heading down the hall.
“You’re doing so well, I don’t think I have to shadow you anymore.”
(E/c) orbs widened at the praise, swiveling in her chair to look at her manager. “Oh really? Thank you so much, Kirishima-san!”
“Please, just call me Kayda,” she laughed, waving her hand. “We don’t need to be so formal amongst each other.” Kayda looked down at her notes. “I don’t have any notes for you, except for you to continue doing as you have been. You’re definitely suited for this type of work, I knew you’d be a great addition to the team after seeing your resume and reading your recommendations.”
“Thank you so much for the opportunity, Kayda!” (Name) chewed her bottom lip. “I appreciate your kindness in taking me in, especially since I’ll be taking a leave so soon after joining.”
“Well, I’ll still have you for a few months before that. Just make sure to continue the good work!” Kayda smiled, standing. “I can already tell that you’re hard-working. Towards the end, you can focus on paperwork and assessments instead of the actual rehabilitation and treatments. We’ll have the trainers and other therapists step in for you.”
(Name) bowed to her manager. “Of course, thank you again!”
“C’mon, let’s go get lunch. I’m sure you’re dying to meet the rest of your coworkers.” Kayda walked towards the door, patiently waiting for (Name) to grab her wrapped lunch box as they made their way to the lounge. Stepping inside, she was quickly greeted by Aya. Aya was sitting with Makoto and another pretty black-haired woman. Where Aya was bubbly and approachable, and Kayda professional and put-together, this other woman could only be described as intimidating.
“(Name)!” Aya waved excitedly, scooting her seat over and putting a seat in between her and Makoto. “Sit here!”
“Hello Aya, hi Makoto.” She bowed, taking the seat.
“(Name), this is Azami!” Aya introduced. Azami looked up, responding with a curt nod.
“Welcome to the team, (Name).” Immediately, Azami went back to her meal. Kayda sat in between Aya and Azami. The group of coworkers settled into an easy-flowing conversation. Aya was busy telling silly stories from outside of work that involved Makoto, and Makoto was busy trying to deny them, cheeks glowing.
“So, (Name), Kayda was telling me that you’re going to be taking leave in a few months?” Their heads snapped to Azami, who had finished her bento. Quiet tension crept through (Name) as she shifted under Azami’s piercing golden gaze.
“Yes,” (Name) swallowed, placing her chopsticks down. “I’ll be leaving for maternity leave in three months.”
Aya - who had been taking a sip of her coffee - choked. “Maternity leave?” She whirled around. “You didn’t tell me you were pregnant!”
“Uh, surprise?” (Name) laughed, a hand affectionately settling on her stomach.
“Who’s the baby-daddy?”
(Name) just winked, pretending to zip her lips. “Secret!” Aya groaned, playfully glaring at the pregnant woman.
“I’ll find out sooner or later,” Aya warned, crossing her arms as she pouted.
“Leave her alone, Aya. If she wants to talk about it, she will,” Makoto chided, eyes sparkling as he gazed at his coworker.
“This is my new work bestie, and I demand to know!” Aya whined.
“I suppose we’re just chopped liver,” Makoto whispers to Azami, who rolled her eyes.
“Guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
“Alright, lunch is over children.” Kayda stood up, dusting her hands off, her own green eyes sparkling. “Aya, leave (Name) alone. We don’t need to scare off our new RT with your shenanigans.”
“That was one big word, Kayda,” Aya joked, rolling her eyes. They all stood up, making their way out of the lounge after wiping down the table. “See you later!” She cheered, stepping into her office.
Makoto and (Name) made their way down to the hall. “Oh, I guess you’re the office next to me,” Makoto grinned. “Feel free to ping me or knock on my door if you have any questions, or if you need any help.”
“Thanks, Makoto!”
****
(Name) wiped her brow, stepping out of one of the dance studios on the first floor. “Thank you, (L.Name)-san!” She sent the male a friendly wave, watching him leave. He had been having issues with his shoulders and knees due to old volleyball injuries, and she’d brought him into the studio in order to test his mobility.
“Oh, (Name)!” She turned, meeting the bubbly brunette. “Are you finished for the day?”
“Yes, I think so.” She tucked her laptop into her bag.
“Great! Let’s walk out together then.” Aya grinned.
“Ah, let me just wash off real quick.” (Name) gestured towards the restroom. Aya followed her in, leaning against the counter as (Name) washed her hands.
“So, how was your first day?”
“It was great! I know it’s a bit early, but I already feel at home,” (Name) smiled warmly, drying her hands. She pulled out her phone, absent-mindedly staring at the screen. Kuroo grinned back, a dollop of ice cream on his nose. After they’d eaten at the fancy restaurant, he’d taken her to an ice-cream shop. When he’d teased her, she decided to smack his face with ice cream, capturing this silly moment on her camera. “Thank you so much for taking the time to supervise me today.”
The coworkers stepped back into the hall, making their way to the lobby. “Well of course! I told you, you’re my work bestie.” Aya skipped along the hall.
They stepped through the double-doors, swiping out. (Name) stopped, her eyes widening as she looked between her phone and the male. “Kuroo?”
Aya’s head whipped up from her phone at (Name)’s call. “Hey there!” Kuroo was dressed in his standard all-black suit, a red tie contrasting the rest of his outfit. In his arms were a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He offered her a smile.
“I’ll see you later Aya!” (Name) smiled at her coworker, walking towards Kuroo. Aya let out an excited squeal as Kuroo pulled (Name) into a hug, his lips barely brushing against the crown of her head. “You didn’t have to!” She chided, taking hold of his elbow as they left the building.
“Well, I wanted to surprise you after your first day!” As he presented her the bouquet, her eyes softened. Beautiful white lilies and gardenias were surrounded by apple-blossoms and red carnations. “The florist helped me pick this out for you. I hope you like it.” Overwhelmed with emotion, (Name) stepped on her tip-toes, leaning in to capture Kuroo’s lips with hers.
Hazel eyes widened, arms settling loosely around her waist as he gently held her. Kuroo’s lips were soft, tender. Delicate movements waited to match hers. His lips were hesitant, but grew more fierce, moving with hers as the seconds trickled by. It was…intense to say the least. Years of emotions placed into this one searing touch. Could she feel it? Could she feel the years of yearning that Kuroo had, the years of undeniable, pure love that had swept him away, knocking him down every single time the thought of even trying to move on bubbled to the surface? A surge of desperation filled him, praying, hoping that this moment could last forever. That it meant something. Her touch consumed him, her taste intoxicating. The way that her lips moved against his...Was it? Were his feelings returned after all these years? His heart pulsed with hope at the mere thought.
Kuroo pulled away reluctantly as his lungs burned, leaning his forehead against hers. “Let’s head home, yeah?” He breathed, eyes shut as he savoured the moment. The taste of her on his lips and the warmth of her body were the only things on his mind.
His nose brushed against hers in a soft butterfly kiss before (Name) pulled away to look up at him. Warmth spread through her body as (e/c) orbs roamed his face. She adjusted the flowers in her arms before brushing her hair away from her face. “Yeah, let’s do that.” Kuroo gently slipped his hand into hers, grinning as their fingers intertwined. “Y’know, they’re going to think you’re my baby-daddy.” She jerked her head back at the clinic, seeing Aya in the window excitedly pointing and yanking on Makoto’s arm. Both of them were facing Kuroo and (Name). At the sight of them looking, Aya waved aggressively to the duo. Kuroo chuckled, waving at them.
They arrived at his car, him opening the door and helping her in. “I wouldn’t mind that,” he teased. Thump thump. Thump thump. Could she hear the song of hope that his heart drummed?
(Name) hummed, buckling herself in as Kuroo got into the other side of the car. “I suppose we’ll just have to see.” He fiddled with the knobs, putting on some music before his hand found its home on her thigh, absent-mindedly tracing shapes into the soft skin.
****
Three weeks later...
The sound of soft sobs woke Kuroo up. He blinked sleepily at the blue-grey walls, mind wandering for a moment. It always seemed to land on her, even when he’d just woken up. Nothing had really changed between them. In fact, they’d still remained as close as ever except for the domesticity that their friendship had taken. Kuroo would drive her to work - made easier since he worked down the street from her - met her for lunch, took her home, and they’d either take turns making meals or cook dinner together. He’d try to prevent her from doing chores, only to be yelled at for his ‘chivalry’ as she loudly proclaimed that she wasn’t a “useless mother that can’t even do her own laundry”.
Shaking himself out of his reverie, he glanced towards the door and clambered out of his bed, following the sobs that led him to the kitchen. Standing over the kitchen sink, eyes unfocused on a steaming mug of milk and honey, was (Name). “What’s going on?”
His sleepy baritone rumble caused her to jump. Her head shot up, hands following as she brushed away the trickles that cascaded down her cheeks. “Nothing!”
“It’s obviously not nothing if you’re crying.” Kuroo made his way to stand beside her. “Now, what’s going on?” He led her to the table, gently pushing her into the chair he pulled out. Kuroo slid into the one beside her.
“It’s stupid.” She sighed, sitting her mug. Kuroo placed one of his hands on the table, tapping while he waited patiently for her to continue. “It’s just that...one of my coworkers...” (Name) paused, more tears welling up. Kuroo leaned over, grabbing the box of tissues and handing it to her. She blinked with appreciation before taking a deep breath. “I just...Azami said some things to me at lunch the other day, and it just got me thinking. Like, what am I even doing? Why did I start this job when I’m pregnant? Why did I even decide to keep this baby when her father won’t even know about her?” The trickle became a steady stream. She blew her nose. “Will I even have time for my job when she’s born? I don’t want her to grow up alone and unsupported.” Her knuckles turned white as she grasped her mug, chest shaking with suppressed sobs.
“(Name).” Kuroo reached out, grasping one of her hands. Empty eyes stared down at their intertwined hands. Thump thump. “You’re not alone. Nor is our child.” (Name) let out a soft gasp, watery eyes snapping up to meet hazel. “Yes, ours. I don’t care what genes he will have. He is as good as my child as much as he is yours, and I don’t intend on leaving you alone no matter what happens.”
“K-kuroo,” she choked. Thump thump. He squeezed her hand before bringing it to his lips to brush them against her knuckles. (Name)’s eyes squeezed shut as her body trembled from the endearing touch. Thump thump.
“(Name), I promise you. I will never abandon you.” Glowing hazel eyes met hers as he surveyed her. Thump thump. Even when she cried, she was beautiful. Kuroo’s other hand reached out, cupping her face and wiping away the tears. “You’re the hardest working person that I know. If there’s anyone who could raise a child while working, it’s you.” Kuroo stood up, opening his arms slightly. She stood too, leaning her head against his chest as his arms pulled her flush against him. “Now, it’s not like you to crumple at the words of a coworker. What else happened?” His hands rubbed her back comfortingly. Thump thump.
(Name) sniffled, swallowing. “One of my clients was hitting on me, and when he found out I was pregnant, he made some...rude comments. Said that I was committing sins for being unmarried and for leading him on.”
Kuroo’s jaw clenched, eyes flashing dangerously. Thump thump. “Please tell me he’s no longer your client.”
(Name) shook her head, wiping her nose. “He was one of Makoto’s clients. Makoto just asked me to finish his final examination, so I won’t be seeing him again.”
Kuroo wrapped his arms around her, squeezing her tightly. “I’m glad.” He pulled back slightly, looking down at her face. “Don’t hide from me anymore, okay kitten? You know I’m always here for you.” He pressed a chaste kiss to her forehead. Thump thump. She buried her face deeper into his chest. They stood in silence a few moments longer. THUMP THUMP. THUMP THUMP. He cleared his throat, “c’mon, let’s get you to bed, okay?”
“Stay in my room tonight?” His heart softened as (Name) looked up at him with still watery eyes.
“Of course.” Another forehead kiss.
“Y’know,” he traced shapes into her arm, cheeks glowing as he avoided her eyes, “we’re practically dating already.” He took a deep breath, forcing the smirk on his face in an attempt to hide the nerves that threatened to overwhelm him. Thump thump. “I know that we’re already house-mates - albeit temporarily - but would you be interested in being promoted to girlfriend?”
“You’re such a dork, Kuroo.” She rolled her eyes, pressing her hands on his chest.
“But you didn’t say no!” He grinned. Thump thump.
Their eyes met. Thump thump. He was surprised by the fondness and affection that softened her gaze. Thump thump. “We have been acting like a couple now, haven’t we?” She asked in a low tone, her finger mindless tracing shapes on his chest. Thump thump.
Kuroo shrugged, his throat tightening. His heart was screaming at him now. “That’s not an answer, love.”
Her heart skipped a beat, feigning annoyance by rolling her eyes once more. “Because my answer is yes, dumbass.”
She pulled away, stepping on her tip-toes to press a kiss to his lips that was abruptly broken by a sudden movement. They both looked down, shocked. “Was that—” he whispered, a hand outreached slightly.
“She’s kicking.” New tears welled up in her eyes as (Name) straightened. Kuroo maneuvered himself onto his knees, placing his cheek onto her stomach. “Guess she’s happy,” she teased, as he felt another gentle nudge from their baby. Thump thump. He tightened his grip on (Name), pressing a gentle kiss onto her stomach as an unparalleled warmth spreading throughout his body. Thump thump. Everything finally felt right.
****
Meanwhile...
The bass of the speakers caused the entire room to shake. The dim lights hid details as bodies intertwined under the flashing lights. Gold eyes scanned the room half-heartedly. From his perch at the booth, he could see Atsumu with his arms around two girls at the bar. Everyone else - except for Sakusa who wasn’t there - were on the dance-floor. Bokuto couldn’t see the rest of his team-mates. He sighed loudly, though it was barely audible over the music. He glanced down at his drink, swirling the whiskey in the glass.
“Hey, you’re looking a little bored tonight. Why don’t you come with me and we’ll have some fun?” Bokuto sent her a dejected smile, waving the girl off. “Suit yourself.” She stalked off, rejoining her friends who all sent him looks. It had been like that for the past hour or so since they had arrived. Girls had been coming up to him. One had even sat in his lap, giving him a lap-dance, only to get pissed off at him when he showed no inclination of interest. That girl had stormed off. She and her friends ended up glaring at the wing-spiker before being whisked away by the crowd. Bokuto sipped the whiskey, letting the liquid burn his throat. How many had it been now? Four? Five? He had just asked the waitress to keep bringing him drinks whenever his glass was running low. Bokuto glanced down at his phone. A photo of him and (Name) at Spring Nationals stared back at him. She was wearing his jersey, black and gold paint on her cheeks. He was carrying her on his back, legs and arms wrapped around him as he flexed his arms. Bokuto held the screen, watching as the ‘Live’ function activated. He watched over and over again as (Name) kissed his cheek before grinning at the camera. Tonight would’ve been their four year anniversary.
“Are you okay?” He looked up and the air left his lungs. Standing in front of him was a familiar sight. He blinked, shaking his head to clear it from the buzz that had crept in. Gold eyes squinted into (e/c) eyes. A wave of disappointment crashed over him. The sparkle was just...wrong. “Hello?”
Bokuto swallowed. “I’ll be fine.”
She raised her eyebrow before nodding at the empty booth. Mind if I sit with you?”
He eyed her carefully before looking back at his team-mates. It was obvious that they weren’t going to rejoin him anytime soon, and he was tired of dancing around his thoughts of (Name). Another searing sip. She held his gaze steadily as she waited for his verdict. Every time he blinked, he felt like he was staring at (Name) only for a cold bucket of water to be dumped over his head each time he realised that he wasn’t. “Sure.” He conceded finally.
“Thanks.” She slipped into the booth beside him toying with her own glass. “What’s on your mind?”
“Huh?”
“Well, you’ve been sitting here for a while, and all you’ve done is drink. You keep telling the girls off whenever they come over and bother you, so there’s obviously something bothering you.” She took a sip, placing the empty glass down. “So what’s up?”
Bokuto snorted, “I’m not drunk enough for this.”
She snorted in agreement. Raising a hand, she waved the waitress over. “Can he get another coke and whiskey? And I’d like a new gin & tonic as well too.” The waitress whisked the glasses away.
Bokuto eyed the girl. “How long have you been watching me?”
“Not long.” She shrugged. “My friend stopped by earlier, and boy was she pissed when you turned her down.”
“Where’s she at now?” The unnamed girl pointed towards the bar. Bokuto chuckled. Of course she was clinging onto Atsumu’s arms now. Maybe she had a type. “So what are you doing with me? Isn’t there girl-code or something?” Bokuto leaned back in his seat, scanning his conversation partner.
Another shrug as she tossed her hair over her shoulder. “To be honest, clubbing isn’t my scene. I’m going through a breakup right now, and my friends brought me out to get over it but,” she waved her hand, “they ditched me because I wasn’t being any ‘fun’.” At this, the waitress returned, placing the drinks down in front of the duo.
Bokuto looked down at his drink. “That’s what’s on my mind,” he admitted. She raised an eyebrow, stirring her drink. “I was with this girl for years, and I thought that I was gonna marry her and everything. But I ended up running away to chase my dreams and left her behind.”
“If you loved her so much, why did you leave her behind?”
Bokuto shrugged. “I was scared, I guess.” They sat in silence for a moment.
“Well, cheers to our mutual heart-break then.” They tapped their glasses together. Bokuto chugged his drink, finishing it. The almost-familiar eyes bore into his as she turned to fully face him. “If you want...maybe we could forget together.” He licked his suddenly dry lips. She had gotten really close to him, he noticed. Gold eyes drifted down to her lips as he felt the heat from her, her thigh spreading to press against his. One night of distractions couldn’t hurt, he decided as he leaned in.
****
The next day...
The sounds of heels meeting hardwood met their ears as the couple made their way into the all-too familiar izakaya. “There they are!” Lev cheered, gesturing to them with his mug. Kuroo helped her take off her coat, draping it over his arm as they walked over. Lev’s eyes bulged as he scanned them. “(Name)! Are you pregnant?”
Tsukishima cuffed the barely taller male over the head, causing Lev to wince. “Idiot, you can’t just shout that across the bar.” Heads had turned at Lev’s cry. (Name) simply giggled, sliding into the empty seat beside Akaashi.
“Yes, Lev, I’m pregnant.”
“Congratulations!” Lev cheered.
“Congratulations, (Name).” Tsukishima nodded at her.
Kuroo placed her folded up coat onto the bench, shrugging his off and placing it on top of hers. He took the other empty seat by Lev. Tsukishima, Akaashi, and (Name) sat on one side. Tsukishima faced Lev while Akaashi faced Kuroo. This time, they hadn’t left an empty seat for the missing wing-spiker. “Have you guys ordered yet?”
“Only alcohol,” Akaashi grimaced, eyeing Lev’s red face.
“No wonder he seems louder than usual,” (Name) joked, rolling her eyes at the tall male.
“You’re so rude to me, (Name)-san!” Lev whined, pouting. He took another big gulp of his beer, smacking his lips. “So who’s the baby-daddy? Is it Bokuto?”
Kuroo and (Name) exchanged a quick look, unnoticed by most at the table before she let out a soft laugh. “Didn’t you hear Lev? Kuroo and I are together now.” Akaashi and Tsukishima raised their eyebrows, surprised looks crossing their faces. Lev simply cheered for them.
“Oh my god! Since when?” His jaw dropped. “Wait!! Does that mean...you and Kuroo are gonna have a kid?”
“Yes, that’s what that means, Lev,” (Name) replied patiently, sipping her water.
“I’m so happy for you! Kuroo used to go on and on and on about you, everyone in the locker-room used to make so much fun of him.” Lev burped, ignoring the surprised look that crossed her face. Kuroo’s ears began to glow red.
“Oi, shut it,” Kuroo warned, “or I’ll call Yaku.”
Lev started whining to his senpai, causing the other three to roll their eyes. Apparently Lev’s fear of Yaku was still persistent in his life. Tsukishima joined Kuroo in roasting Lev while (Name) turned to the quiet setter besides her. “Akaashi, we missed you last time! How have you been?”
“Not too bad, just busy.” Akaashi sipped his beer. “Congratulations on graduating, (Name)-san. I’m sorry that I missed your party.”
“It’s no biggie, I’m just glad you made it out this time!” Her bright smile filled his vision as he hummed in response. “How’s your program going?” They settled into an easy conversation, though Akaashi was still hesitant. He hadn’t expected this turn of events, and he definitely hadn’t missed that look they had exchanged. They ordered their food, and the males ended up going through another two pitchers of beer as the night went on.
“Excuse me guys! I’ll be right back babe.” (Name) stood, kissing Kuroo’s cheek before she waddled towards the restroom.
Akaashi turned to Kuroo. “Kuroo-san, may I speak to you?” Luckily, the rest of the guys were busy talking to each other. Hazel eyes bore into blue as Kuroo nodded slowly, swirling his glass. “Is that your child?”
“He is now.”
If the setter was surprised, he didn’t show it. “Does Bokuto-san know?”
“She found out the day he announced his deal.” Kuroo sipped his beer, eyes drifting back to the rest of their company. Lev and Tsukishima were in a heated argument about which was the best dinosaur. Lev was simply arguing in order to get a rise out of Tsukishima. Akaashi nodded slowly, his eyes fixed on Kuroo.
“He would’ve sacrificed anything for her.”
Kuroo sighed. “And she did just that for him.” Glowing hazel met steady gunmetal blue. “He would’ve sacrificed his entire career for her, and he would’ve been unsatisfied with life. This could’ve been his only chance to go pro, and she was not about to let him squander his dreams for her.” Kuroo’s face softened. “Even at the price of her own, she chose his happiness.”
“(Name)-san was always too kind for her own good,” Akaashi mused, sipping his own drink.
“(Name)-san, are you alright? You don’t look well.” Akaashi’s brow furrowed as he looked at the girl. Sweat beaded along her forehead as she panted heavily. The black and gold paint on her cheeks barely hid the redness.
Sluggishly, she waved a hand. “I’ll be okay, ‘Kaashi! This is more important.” (Name) leaned against the setter, and he winced at the heat.
“Are you sure? It looks like you have a fever.”
(Name) nodded, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand. “G-gotta be.” Even her voice was hoarse.
“Nickname!” At the sound of Bokuto’s voice, (Name) completely straightened, a smile forcibly spreading across her face.
“Kou!” She squealed. Bokuto swept her into his arms, swinging her around.
“You came!”
“Of course I did. I had to see my best friend playing in the finals!” Akaashi’s eyes widened slightly, impressed. It was barely noticeable that just moments ago she was feeling ill. Even the lilt in her voice had been banished.
“You’re the best,” Bokuto cheered, nuzzling into her neck.
Akaashi stepped away, heading towards the managers with a soft shake of his head. “Is (Name) ok? She looked really sick a few moments ago.” He could only shrug at Kaori’s question. “Poor girl,” she clicked her tongue.
“(Name)’s here?” Yukie asked, glancing over as her brow furrowed. “That’s a surprise.”
Kaori and Akaashi looked over at Yukie. “Why’s that?” Kaori tilted her head.
“Kuroo said she caught a fever the other night. Something about a breakdown, her going out to comfort somebody at 3 AM and forgetting a jacket.”
Kaori clicked her tongue again. “She’s really too nice.” They watched as Bokuto swung her around over and over again. (Name) looked vastly uncomfortable up until Bokuto put her down to hand her his spare jersey. As soon as he had put her down, a wide smile overtook her features. All signs of discomfort vanished. Akaashi shook his head. She really needed to stop sacrificing herself for everyone.
Akaashi sighed, swirling his cup and watching the bubbles. “Under different circumstances, I would want to tell him. He has the right to know.”
“If you tell him now, you risk jeopardizing that future that she gave to him. And if he were to suddenly appear in her life again, who knows what type of stress that’d put on her and the baby?” Akaashi simply hummed in response, fingers tapping against his glass. Kuroo licked his lips before sighing. “For her sake, can you please not tell him? After he’s born, I’ll talk to her about getting Bokuto involved.”
Akaashi sighed. “For their own good.” Kuroo’s face relaxed into a pleasant smile.
“Thank you, Akaashi.” Kuroo stood up. “I’ll be right back,” he promised, before he too made his way to the restroom. A sleek black phone lit up on the table. Glancing at it, Akaashi let out a soft chuckle. The familiar faces of (Name) and Kuroo stared back at him, and she looked beyond happy. The former setter couldn’t remember ever seeing her face as bright as it did in that photo. He had always known that Kuroo had been in love with the former Nekoma manager. Anyone just watching their interactions could see that. Throughout the conversation, Akaashi had kept that in mind, wondering if Kuroo was being selfish about his intentions. He bit his bottom lip as he contemplated the news. Though Bokuto was one of his closest friends, Akaashi had quickly become close to the spunky girl that had captured his friend’s heart. They all deserved to be happy, and it seems that Kuroo and (Name) were happiest together. He nodded to himself, turning his attention back to the quarreling pair. It was for the best that they remained together. He only prayed that Bokuto would be able to find his own happiness.
Fun facts
💟 There were still some of Bokuto’s owl mugs at (Name)’s house

💟 Aya really wanted a female best friend, but was terrified of Azami and had too much respect for Kayda so she was extra excited when she found out (Name) was joining the team
💟 Aya’s name means ‘colorful, beautiful’, Azami means ‘thistle flower, greatest’, Makoto means ‘sincerity, truth’, and Kayda means ‘Little Dragon’ or ‘Princess of God’
💟 Every time they went to get dessert, a bit of it would end up on Kuroo’s face because he would either try to steal (Name)’s dessert or make fun of her
💟 Kuroo had taken a floral arrangement class as a GE and learned about the meaning of flowers through it. He forgot that (Name) had also taken that class a different semester so she also knew the meaning of the flowers he’d gotten
💮 White lilies: “My love is pure”
💮 Apple blossoms: “I prefer you before all”
💮 Red carnations: “My heart aches for you”
💮 Gardenias: secret love
💟 There were mutual feelings of alterous attraction between (Name) and Kuroo - meaning that they’d both be okay whether they were platonic friends or romantic partners. (Name) just didn’t know the second part.
💟 Kuroo thought he was doing her a favor by doing the chores, but once he got his butt kicked, he remembered how much (Name) hates depending on people
💟 Even though they’ve been friends for so long, it was still rare for Kuroo to see her crying. She typically tried to cry alone in her room
💟 This was the first time that Hikori kicked
💟 Bokuto took up drinking about a week after (Name)’s graduation
💟 Bokuto wasn’t really sure why he kept changing his background photo
💟 Most people had figured out that (Name) and Bokuto had separated. They just didn’t know why. Lev was one of the only exceptions to this
💟 Both Kuroo and (Name) were posting on social media, but a majority of people chalked it up to their long-term friendship
💟 Bokuto still doesn’t know that (Name) had a fever during that game
💟 (Name) had gone out late at night to comfort Shibayama who was feeling very insecure and unprepared to take on the role as libero after Yaku

Boy In The Bubble (JJ x Reader)
A storyline of you realizing JJ’s being abused and promising him you’ll always be there
Tumblr media
Requested: nope (send me requests!!)
Inspired: by The Boy In The Bubble by Alec Benjamin
Warnings: minor cursing, mentions of abuse and one quick line of slut-shaming
Contains: fluff, soft JJ, hurt/comfort, fluffy ending (aka my brand)
Words:  1.8K (ahh)
**********************************************************
I covered up my face so that no one knows
I didn't want trouble, I'm the boy in the bubble
But then came trouble
At the start of summer you noticed that JJ’s wardrobe hadn’t changed. That might not seem strange, as you were all poor pogues and couldn’t afford to buy new clothes every week like the kooks did, but there was usually a definite switch at the start of summer. Everyone brough out their shorter clothes or didn’t wear them at all, resorting to only swimsuits as everyone enjoyed the sun together. There was normally so much skin shown by everyone, but not JJ this summer. You tried to confront him on the boat one day,
“Hey JJ, you ever gonna lose the shirt?” you called out
“Ahh I’m sure you’d love that” he teased back, “but Club JJ is closed today”.
The flirting was on par with normal JJ, but the shirt definitely wasn’t. You tried once more with
“Comeon grandpa, live a little and get in the water” but he got defensive, going
“Y/N leave me alone, I’m not swimming today, ok?” When you locked eyes with Kie and Pope they seemed just as confused as you were, but John B was just staring at JJ with a look of concern on his face.
The three of you silently decided to just move on, and soon JJ was back to his usual self, cracking jokes from the deck of the boat while the rest of you were in the water. The rest of the day passed without incident, but in the back of your mind you were still thinking about JJ, and wondering what was going on.
She said, "Boy, you gotta tell me what they did to you"
I said, "You don't wanna know the things I had to do"
JJ kept his shirt on for the rest of the week, and that Friday night you all headed out for a party at the Boneyard. You and Kie had traded clothes back and forth until you both found the perfect outfits with shorts and cute halter tops, and Pope and John B were in the typical pogue boy outfit of unbuttoned hawaiian shirts, but JJ still had his closed. You learned from last time not to press because he would just shut down, but you kept an eye out all the same. Your thoughts were interrupted by John B happily calling out to the group
“Pretty boys aren’t here today, let’s relax!” sure enough, Topper and Rafe were nowhere to be seen. Without any kooks to worry about, you only had to be wary of the Tourons, and they were normally harmless.
After a few hours when it was getting dark, it suddenly started to rain. You and JJ were out on the far end of the beach, away from the rest. They had to run Pope back home because they knew that he’d get in trouble from his dad for being out in the storm. Kie called out
“Y/N, JJ, you guys good to make it back? I’m hauling ass with Pope and John B”
“We’re good Kie!”
The other group took the van back, leaving you and JJ to walk. Although it’s normally quite warm in good old OBX, the rain caused the temperature to drop a few degrees and you were practically shivering, which caught JJ’s attention. “Are you ok Y/N?”
“I’m fine” you tried to reassure him, but it wasn’t very convincing because your voice broke.
He made a face but before you could figure it out he took off his shirt and wrapped it around you. You were a bit warmer, but the best part was that it smelled like him. Before you could focus on this however, you were distracted by JJ’s bare torso, and not in the way you normally were.
“JJ-” you gasped, and JJ just averted his gaze.
“It’s nothing” he said quietly, but you didn’t believe him
“JJ who did this?”
“You don’t want to know, trust me. Drop it Y/N, let’s just get back” he said a bit defensively, and you let it go. When you got back to the Chateau, he quickly changed into a different shirt before anyone else noticed, and you left it at that.
Put my hands up, put my hands up
I told this kid I'm ready for a fight
You should have known that the next fight would be Rafe. Everything about him always seemed to tick off JJ, and combine that with his protective nature towards you and it was just a recipe for disaster. It was the day after the party, and your luck with avoiding them had run out. Kie was stuck helping at the restaurant, but you and the boys were out for a surf because the waves were perfect. JJ’s torso was healed and you were relieved to finally see him dressing normally again. While you were taking a break on the sand, Rafe and his crew of other obnoxious rich white boys were walking by, complete with sunglasses that probably cost as much as your surfboard. You missed the first comment because you were ignoring their entire presence, but you noticed JJ’s reaction. He stood up and angrily told Rafe
“Tell ya what, you can take that opinion and shove it”. That was apparently the wrong thing to do, as it only spurred Rafe on. He responded and addressed you directly “Wow what a gentleman! I’m sorry that you’re slumming it with these lowlifes, but maybe you like whoring it up with these men”
As soon as you were brought into any argument involving JJ, he immediately turned it into a fight. Rafe must have known that, but he still wasn’t fast enough to avoid the punch. JJ went straight for Rafe’s nose, and it started bleeding. That was all it took for Rafe’s cronies to jump in, and you knew it would be bad.
“John B DO something” you screamed, but John B was also busy fighting and didn’t notice. Pope was doing his best to help, but that boy could never fight well. You were growing increasingly more concerned as it looked like JJ was losing, even though you knew he could have won, but you finally thought of something. You ran to the cooler which you had put your now empty beers in earlier that day, and dumped the water all over the boys. That confused them enough for John B to pull Rafe off of JJ and for you to scream “What the actual fuck Rafe? Get the fuck away from us and go the fuck home”
He was too stunned by your cussing to react, and just signalled to his boys and left. As soon as he was out of your eyesight, you ran over to JJ who was already being carried to the van by John B and Pope.
“Take him to my house, I got this” you told them
“You sure?” asked John B
“Yeah, you’re out of bandages at the Chateau and I just got some” you responded. You spent the entire ride to your place worried about JJ, and wondering why he didn’t fight back
Punch my face, do it 'cause I like the pain
Every time you curse my name
As soon as the boys got JJ propped up in the bathroom, you two were silent. JJ was probably waiting for you to yell at him for the fight, but you knew another confrontation wouldn’t help. Instead, you quietly whispered
“Thank you”. He looked up, confused
“For standing up for me” you explained. JJ just gave you a soft smile and nodded as you cleaned him up, responding
“Anytime”
After you finished fixing up his torso and face, you just looked at JJ.
“Why didn’t you fight back? You totally could have taken Rafe!” You had no idea why JJ let that happen to him.
“No, I couldn’t”, he mumbled
“You got the first punch in!” you said, exasperated
“I just couldn’t!” he exclaimed. You knew it wasn’t smart, but you pushed anyway.
“Why not? Do you like being beaten?” Immediately you knew that was the wrong thing to say.
“I froze, ok?” he shouted. “I was looking up at Rafe and it was like, it was like” You were really quiet, worried about what he was about to say.
“Like who, JJ?” “My dad”
But like every other day, he was scared to go
Back to his house 'cause his pops was home
Drowning his troubles in whiskey bubbles
Suddenly, everything made sense to you. JJ had been beat by his dad, and didn’t want the group to see, so he kept his shirts on. That's what those bruises on his torso were from. That also explained why he was so on edge on the beach that afternoon. You knew his dad was an asshole, but you didn’t think it was that bad.
“Oh, JJ” you pulled him in close and let him sob into your chest.
“I couldn’t stop him, I didn’t want to stop him. He’s my dad”
Your heart broke as you realized that his dad, the person who was supposed to love him, didn’t. You wanted to show him that he was still completely deserving of love. You cupped his face in your hands and slowly leaned in, careful of his injuries and slow enough that he could back out if he wanted to, but he didn’t want to. He closed the final distance between you two and you collided in a sweet kiss until you had to come up for air.
“JJ, you are such a great person” you say softly while looking into his eyes, and seeing them fill up with tears.
“No I’m not, I’m broken” your heart hurt so much to hear him say that, and you maintained eye contact so he knew how wrong he was. “You’re not broken. You are so deserving of love. JJ, I love you. I hate seeing you like this, you don’t deserve it”. At first you were worried that you had spoken too much and scared him off, but he just pulled you tighter and slowly stopped crying again.
“JJ, you’re staying here tonight” you told him, and went on before he was able to argue “Yes, you are. Tomorrow, we’re gonna figure out what to do, and I’m going to help you, but tonight you need to rest”
You pulled him towards your bed and when he moved to sleep on the floor just rolled your eyes and patted the sheets next to you.
“Thank you so much Y/N” he mumbled as he fell asleep. You sat there, watching the boy you loved so much finally look at peace for the first time in weeks, relieved that he was safe and would be ok.
“Anytime” you promise.

Now that I have time and some motivation let's get down to business.
Paz also has tattoos for you,
One of your name in mando'a,
Second of the star constellation that you spotted on your trip, we love our wiccan king,
He'd 10000% be the guy to get his child's birth date tattooed,
Paz posting his precious doggo on instagram?,
Oh or Paz starting a culinary YouTube channel???,
And also showing his of the grid lifestyle?,
showing his animal rescue and promoting adoptions!,
He is buffy, handsome, funny, loves children and animals, dresses good and is the best chef, so there are many fanboys and fangirls in his comments thirsting over him,
When the comments asking if he is single get too overwhelming, he asks you to tune in for some vlogs,
You'd definitely film a mukbang video!!,
And also these crazy spicy noodle challenges,
Boba accidentally disliking all of Paz' videos?? (we are still onto tech-grandpa Boba? 😂),
You have to make sure that he doesn't post any pictures done by his hand,
He'd retweet funny clips of cats and cute pictures from Jango Investigation company's official profile,
Also him leaving embarrassing comments on your profile?
Or not knowing that there is function to dm you on instagram,
So he comments on your recent holiday trip picture ''you looked good in this swimsuit princess, shame on me I tore it apart'' or ''looking tempting babygirl, be ready, sir will be home soon'',
Din doesn't really care for sm?,
Like he used to be a casual user,
But one day people were flooding his comments and dms, spamming him with @pascalisapunk,
He noticed that you were watching youtube kids with Grogu,
(oh now I hope you will know what is going on) Grogu really likes watching cocomelon,
So Din tricked him to watching PewDiePie instead,
You don't like it tho, thinking these videos are too edgy and stupid for both of them,
''Din you've watched too many of these videos and you became a brain-rotten himbo I don't want the same to happen to our son!'',
Din and Grogu playing Minecraft together? 🥺,
Also Paz has the best town in Animal crossing for sure!,
Surprise, surprise Boba actually likes and knows how to(!!!) play Mafia game (well it's from 2002 so maybe that's why lol),
But he is the king of board games,
Especially Monopoly!!!
Also not to mention cars games,
He made you play strip poker with him 😳,
Paz and you doing a baby shower at his restaurant!!,
Imagine big daddy bear Paz with a little babygirl 😍😍😍, (Bummer that we don't have an official name for the Armorer, could be honored by Paz naming his baby after her 😭),
Grogu telling his friends at school that his daddy is also an actor lol,
Few days later bunch of 5 year olds are asking him if this is the way to the restroom, if he can bring in some hot chocolate, and doing the baby yoda batuu sound at him lol,
Poor Din, but he secretly loves it, he just loves children,
So imagine his combustion when you tell him that you are having a little Djarin 😍,
Paz helping with babyshower??,
And Boba is totally on buying you a new, bigger apartment as a gift lol,
''What, Djarin? Can't have my little nephew and favorite sister-in-law who is pregnant living in your excuse of an apartament'' lol Boba has no chill,
Grogu gets addicted to bubble tea,
And it isn't because of your introduction, you knew better not to let him drink too often,
But everyday, after coming back from the kindergarten Din and Grogu would stop by your favorite bubble tea shop,
Grogu totally wants a little brother!,
And Din is thinking about a little babygirl or better, why not both, or even better two little boys and a little girl and Grogu being their big bro 😍,
You better be ready for some intensive wrestling sessions,
You and Din have no idea why, but lately, he seems to cum A LOT MORE,
When Boba carries out the tradition you are pregnant,
Pregnant with twin boys,
And the look identical, like they were literally cloned 😉,
Boba wouldn't throw a huge babyshower,
He is too afraid after the incident involving you and the rival syndicate,
Actually Boba decided that you should move from the downtown, to live in a more low-key area,
So you are now living in a palace 😉 in the suburbs
Boba gets you a private driver and a bodyguard,
But most of the time he tries to drive you to work since you both have offices in the downtown area,
Your daily commute can get really pleasurable for both of you 😳,
Boba has his own shooting range lol, king of extra right?
One day when you were babysitting Grogu at your place you found out that Boba was teaching the kid about shooting,
You were furious,
''C'mon princess, haven't I told you about me and my father? He showed me how to use a gun when I was even younger than Grogu'',
Srsly, this man,
Giving him a death glare you take Grogu and treat him for some bubble tea
-🐣
Oh yeeesss let's get to business....
Paz's tattoos 😭😭😭 so cute (kind of reminds me of my dad, he has all of our names)
Paz totally has an Instagram dedicated to Ad'ika
Paz being thirsted after on his YouTube is so cute
But his followers also really ship the two of you, because you both are just couple goals
Paz makes you the cutest anniversary video and posts it to his YouTube
Paz is a total gamer, he absolutely loves Animal Crossing and he makes a whole section of his town dedicated to you
Paz throws the absolute cutest baby shower and anyone and everyone is invited
You both decide to wait until after the baby is born to find out the gender, and Paz has a raffle going on at the restaurant where people can guess the gender
Armorer = Amira? Amara? Andromeda??
He makes you both cute matching sweaters for your characters
Paz is the one that introduced Grogu to minecraft
Boba cause so much havoc on social media
He totally is leaving thirst comments under your pictures on Instagram not realizing everyone else can see them too
You have a Instagram set up for Fennec too because she is just so photogenic, at least when you take the pictures
I think Boba is actually pretty proficient at using Twitter, and its more or less because he uses it to stalk people 9/10
You have a tumblr where you tease and make fun of Boba, mostly posting quotes or the silly pictures that Boba takes
Boba totally dominates at any board game, but especially Monopoly
That game of strip poker did not last long at all, and you think Boba quite literally was hiding aces up his sleeves
Boba makes sure you are always thoroughly satisfied before he drops you off at work every morning
When Boba finds out you're pregnant he celebrates, and its huge
He starts going all out buying anything and everything he can/wants
When he finds out its twin boys he is over the moon
Names for the boys, Jango and Jaster? Rex and Cody??
Boba totally buys some big house outside of town, that has anything and everything you could ever ask for
It also has a panic room and state of the art safety because Boba isn't taking chances with you or the boys
Also, bringing the babysitting saga to the modern au 😭😭
You walk in on Boba handing Grogu a gun and you flip out, yelling at him
He just shrugs and you take Grogu away and say that your kids WILL N O T learn how to do any of that stuff until they are atleast teenagers
Boba pouts because you ruined his and Grogu's bonding time
When Din comes to pick up Grogu, Grogu looks him in the eye and says "cocksucker"
Din has a heart attack and Boba laughs as you yell at him asking where he heard that
Grogu says that he heard uncle Boba say it while on the phone
Din tries to follow Paz’s recipes from his YouTube, and it always turns out badly and you have to come in and save it
Din totally loves Pewdiepie's humor
Din gets frustrated with social media and ends up just making an empty account so he can follow you and watch videos, but after the whole Pedro Pascal disaster he never posts anything
Grogu and you are his profile picture though
When Grogu goes around telling the kids at school he is the mandalorian he just sighs
And when all of the kids start quoting the show, he just starts quoting them back so they will stop bothering him
When Din announced the pregnancy Paz got so excited to have another nephew/niece
Paz lets Din hold the baby shower at the restaurant and he makes all of the food, including little gender reveal cake pops
Paz gifts the two of you a photo album at has pictures of the two of you and grogu, but it is still half empty so you can add more memories of your expanding family
Boba just hands Din house keys a day says the place is paid off and he's covering the bills for the first year (he also had a nice play set built in the backyard for Grogu)
