ok but fr I hope none of the letter writers feel personally responsible for this just because Wayne didn’t just say “I took being told I did a racist thing as being accused of being Racist and had a knee jerk reaction to that, sorry” and then also acknowledging that taking the pizza tower sponsorship in the first place was bad and they are sorry. Don’t try to explain why you did it, don’t try to backtrack it, just say “we realize now that this was a bad thing and we will do better in the future” and then actually fucking do it.
im sorry that some loud and vitriolic bigots have given you grief and given them big heads.
I hope they’re undergoing a lot of reflection while writing that statement. and maybe deciding they shouldn’t be allowed to respond to fan messages of concern in the discord until you’ve had a proper moment to digest everything and think that you may be wrong this time and not everybody is a parasocial pseudofan out to get you. It ain’t 2021 anymore my dudes
Also “this isn’t us” okay whatever. Maybe the appropriate thing to say would be “this has been us and it’s not okay and it’s reached a boiling point and things are going to change from now on”
#rtvs#rtvs has been so intense about avoiding parasocial relationships#granted they boomed in popularity right next to the dream smp which was just about the worst of the worst in that regard#but it means that a lot of them seem they’re somehow above controversy without realizing#they’re VERY popular. they’re public figures and they have a duty to act as such#and they’re at the point where they can still talk to fans in their own discord great#but that just means that when a well meaning fan comes to them with concern they need to be open to that rather than brushing it off becaus#‘I can’t be racist I did this and this and this’#but you are a group of predominantly white people in America and Canada and that comes with#an entire society built off of racism and discrimination#and we are all unlearning it but when mistakes are made#even if it’s with a company like fan gamer that you’ve worked with in good faith before#you need to be willing to understand when you’ve made a mistake#and the way rtvs handles their fanbase right now has them thinking they are above all criticism

Canadian Black History, a brief story
*A brief article on Black Canadian history before America’s Independence is recognized on this date.
The first recorded Black person to set foot on land now known as Canada was a free man named Mathieu de Costa. He travelled with explorer Samuel de Champlain, and arrived in Nova Scotia some time between 1603 and 1608 and was a translator for the French explorer Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Monts. The first known Black person to live in Canada was a slave from Madagascar named Olivier Le Jeune, who may have been of partial Malay ancestry. As a group, Black people arrived in Canada in several waves.
Before the American Revolutionary War Black people in Canada were slaves. Slavery had been legalized in 1705 in France, and in France's colonies as well. In Canada, some of the slaves were Aboriginal Canadians captured in wars, some were Black Africans, and some had been bought from the United States. After a war in 1763 England took control of New France. They had no laws allowing or forbidding slavery. At this time there were 1200 Blacks living in Quebec. They were considered property of their owners, and had no legal rights. The first free Blacks in Canada came while serving in the French Army and Navy; some were enslaved. Later, some were indentured servants, as were some white immigrants.
During the American War of Independence, the British, who had a real need for soldiers, promised Blacks that they would be freed, and could get some land by serving in the British army. Twenty thousand Blacks fought in the War of Independence. Although the British lost the war, they allowed five thousand Blacks to enter Canada and take the land promised to them (mostly in the Maritimes). It was because of this precedent that Canada began to stand out as a possible refuge from slavery. The era of the American Revolution meant white Europeans in the United States had to decide where their future lay. Those loyal to the British Crown were called United Empire Loyalists, and came north. White American Loyalists brought their African slaves with them, while formerly enslaved Blacks, about 10% of the total, also made their way to the colonies of British North America, settling predominantly in Nova Scotia. This latter group set up home in Birchtown near Shelburne. Some settled in New Brunswick, where racism was prevalent; whites held slaves and enforced racial rule.
In 1782, one of the first race riots in North America took place in Shelburne with white soldiers attacking Black settlers who were getting work that the soldiers thought they should have. Unfortunately, the charter of the city of Saint John was amended in 1785 specifically to exclude Blacks from practicing a trade, selling goods, fishing in the harbor, or becoming freemen; these provisions stood until 1870.
Due to the promises of the British government that were not kept and discrimination on the part of white colonists, 1,192 African men, women and children left Nova Scotia for West Africa on January 15, 1792 and settled in what is now Sierra Leone, where they became the original settlers of Freetown. They, along with other groups of free transplanted people such as the Black Poor from England, became what is now the Sierra Leone Creole people, also known as the Krio.
In 1793 John Simcoe, Governor of Upper Canada passed a law entitled An Act to Prevent the Further Introduction of Slaves and to Limit the Term of Enforced Servitude Within this Province. It did not completely abolish slavery because some of the legislators owned slaves. In 1796, a group of fiercely independent rebels known as the Trelawney Maroons were moved from Jamaica to Nova Scotia, following their long battle against colonization. While there, these Jamaican Maroons deterred an attack by Napoleon and constructed parts of the Halifax Citadel and all of Government House. After only a few winters, the British government decided it would be cheaper to send them to Sierra Leone than to try to persuade them to farm in a cold country. Upon their arrival in West Africa in 1800, they were used to quell an uprising among the previous settlers mentioned above, who after eight years were unhappy with their treatment by the Sierra Leone Company.
While the Black liberation movement moved ahead in Upper Canada and Lower Canada, in 1813, nearly 2000 escaped slaves settled in Nova Scotia. At the time there was a recession, and the white citizens complained that the Blacks were taking too many of the jobs. The next major migration of Blacks occurred between 1813 and 1815. Refugees from the War of 1812 fled the United States to settle in Hammonds Plains, Beechville, Lucasville, North Preston, East Preston, and Africville. A Black Loyalist named Richard Pierpoint, who was born about 1744 in Senegal and who had settled near present-day St. Catharines, Ontario, offered to organize a Corps of Men of Color; this was refused but a white officer raised a small Black corps. This "Colored Corps" fought at Queenston Heights and the siege of Fort George, defending what would become Canada from the invading American army. In 1815 Nova Scotia banned further immigration by Blacks. See also:

do you think people who are in a minority, but live in a first world country are oppressed? I want to know your opinion because i think you are one of the most unbiased people on tumblr when it comes to politics, racism, etc.
Hmm... Traditionally speaking, first world countries mainly entails America, Western Europe, and other allies of America. I’m not familiar enough with all of these countries to safely give you a general yes or no answer.
I know that the Native Americans in Canada and the Indigenous people of Australia are truly treated in such awful manners, but that is the gist of my knowledge. I have a few minority friends in European nations, and they’ve never really mentioned oppression. Although, that could also be because we don’t discuss these topics often with one another so the chance to speak up about this hasn’t really risen.
In America, though, I don’t believe minorities are oppressed on a systemic level as those online like to say. I believe the rules we have set in place are well enough, but there are horrible people who seek out authority positions to abuse people they do not like. And, because we are a predominantly white majority nation, we see more instances of white people bringing unfair punishment to minorities. But, this isn’t always the case.
My parents all come from a town where being white is the minority. The school system, the police force, the court office, they are all primarily run by black people. They were treated fairly similarly to minorities in white-majority communities. Teachers purposefully ignored the sexual harassment and violence towards white students, officers were exceptionally harsh to white citizens, the court didn’t give a damn about the white citizens, etc.
I firmly believe that, in America, our issue is not in our laws, but in the fact that horrible people flock to positions where they can be horrible to their desired group. Note: I’m not saying that all police officers are bad - they aren’t. It’s similar to how pedophiles are likely to work with students. They want to be around their desired group to bring harm to them.
I believe the best solution would be to set up a secondary system that checks and balances the police force. Ideally, it’d look into making sure sexism and racism to any group isn’t impacting decisions and that the police are not abusing their powers by any means.

Anyway, would you imagine the madness that would be the Civil War (2006) Event if it was released today?
Like...
1- There is a major explosion wiping out a suburban, white picked american town in the midwest, explosion started right next to a school, caused by a team of C List superheroes literally attacking a group of B list Supervillains, who were having a barbecue there for some reason, just to get more ratings on their reality show rather than any heroic duty. Many people die, mostly kids due to the school, and we see the bloody aftermath. Even the Sentinels, compared to burning crosses in terms of racial sensitivity by Wolverine, help out to fish out people from the debris.
2- Because of this, major Anti Superhero Sentiments start sprouting up in the country. One of the victims’ mother (A major player in the event believe it or not) spits on Tony Stark’s face. The Human Torch gets lynched by some black stereotypes because he was allowed to go into a exclusive nightclub with a white girl due to his celebrity status and they weren’t, major protests start going trough the nation, all demanding SOMETHING to be done against those pesky superheroes, As monuments are being torn down and what not, as ALL superheroes, as a social class, at fault for what has happened there during the explosion.
3- This brings us to the Government Regulation Thing, THE Superhero Registration Program. Maria Hill, who wasn’t a Skrull Chaos Agent and has never been (It’s important you remember this), announces to Captain America that the... senate? chamber? Anyway, someone is going to approve this new law (Which, you know, isn’t law yet btw) that will require all superheroes to have their Identity revealed to the public and become paid government workers. They get a pension and health insurance and insurance for any collateral damage they cause as long as they do what they are told and do not step out of line.
You know, Normal, TOTALLY not fascist shit.
4- Anyway, Cap obviously is outraged by this, for “How Long until it will be Washington that tells us who the real villain is” (Which is, you know, SUPER RELEVANT), and claims will never sign up for any of this, which Maria Hill, who, again, is not a Undercover Skrull Chaos Agent, knew he was going to say so she tries to arrest him for breaking a law that isn’t a law yet, unleashing plenty of armed guards and a couple of attack helicopters on him. She fails, he runs away, and the other superheroes are presented with a choice.
CONFORM OR BE HUNTED DOWN LIKE DOGS.
5- If you think this was bad prepare for the real bad shit to start now, because you have to keep in mind this:
The registration side are the supposed good guys here. They are what the narrative consider to be the one who win at the end, whose ideals were better than Captain Fucking America’s. Keep this in mind as you read this:
6- The Major 3 players of the Registration Side are Tony Stark, Mister Fantastic and Hank Pym.
6A- Tony Stark is a war criminal. He tries to stage a terrorist attack on Independent Nation Atlantis, using a “Mind Controlled” Norman Osborn (More on this later) to pull the trigger, so he could both kill Namor and start war with the underwater kingdom, whose Non Namor Rulers will surely try to get revenge against the surface for such happenings, sell weapons during the ensuing war, AND unite the divided superhero community against a common enemy, in this case, Atlantis.
Tony Stark is also responsible for the Supervillain Rehabilitation Program, which is taking willing and unwilling supervillains alike and putting bombs in their brains, ready to blow up at a sign of disobedience, so to use as enforcers for the registration side. Many of those villains have a kill count on the double digits. Many of those villains where later deployed in hunt down and capture missions of Superheroes who had defected, superheroes they all had a hate boner for and loved nothing more but to beat up and potentially kill/maim. One of the fucking Hobgoblins was among them. BULLSEYE WAS FUCKING AMONG THEM.
He manipulated Spider-Man into revealing his identity to the world, something that caused major Bullshit to everyone involved, for, once Spider-Man realized what kind of bullshit he had signed up for and decided to go rogue, Tony first hacks the stark patented supersuit he gave him as a gift so it malfunctions, then sends 2 bloodthirsty supervillains armed to the teeth with explosives and with bombs in their brain to capture him and rough him up a little, then removes peter’s wife and aunt from the family protection/hostage program, which forces them to hide out in a crappy motel in fear that one day a supervillain discovers where they are and bombs them, which guess what is what fucking happens in the end since a sniper finds out they are there and shoots Aunt May, which is what ultimately leads to the worst story in comic book history ONE MORE (FUCKING) DAY.
6B- Reed “Mister Fantastic” Richards is presented by the narrative as emotionally distant and abusive to his wife. He will, with the help of Tony Stark and Hank Pym, create a mechanical clone of Thor, who was absent from earth at the time, with the sole purpose of crowd control and dispersion in the event of a superhero vs superhero fight.
Lethal Force is apparently authorized and approved, for The first mission he is deployed in, Clone-Thor, the clone of a bloody Norse god, ends up Killing Black Goliath, a black superhero, something not contested, in fact almost condoned by the narrative and the registration side, and both the reason why Spider-Man defects and a Hydra Scientist (Oh, yeah, they also conscript Hydra Scientists in the thing so tho create more bio weapons and shit) finds the reason why he considers those three his favorite superheroes.
Also Reed Richards is a McCarthy apologist. He talks about this one uncle of his, a artist, who was considered a communist and was put on trials for having left leaning, liberal views/just being a plain weird artist (I think he was also gay coded?), and he says how he mocked the question and the absurdity of the whole situation in particular and McCarthyism in general, which ultimately blacklists him from work and makes him die alone and without money, so Reed Fucking Richards of course said that the moral of that story is that “My uncle was wrong, If there is a law that might seem unjust, you shouldn’t be down to clown but you should just shut your mouth and keep going.”
The Fucker.
6C- Hank Pym starts a fucking child soldiers conscription program. Teen Superheroes discovered by shield will be captured and separated from their families, Identical Robotic Decoys put in their place to prevent the families from finding out, and will be conscripted into the registration program as child soldiers.
They will be given a usa army approved regiment of training, and will be soon deployed on real, life or death missions, either involving the capture of rogue superheroes or fighting “enemy” forces such as AIM or HYDRA, what the government seems more fit to fight at the time.
The Kids, for ages seemed to vary from 15 to 19, will be trained and encouraged to kill, especially if faced with faceless hydra goons as they blast down their aircraft in a dog fight in the skies. This will of course scar and traumatize the, again, 15 years old government sanctioned child FUCKING soldiers, but not as much as the alternative to this.
For, as it is shown, failure to comply with orders, as well as emotional instability due to being, you know, a 16 years old girl in stressful situations such as, you know, a guy turning into a giant spider in front of you, will cause the government to “terminate” your employment under them, which will result in them forcibly taking away your powers, most of whom you were born with, with invasive, unwilling, non sedated surgery on you, as it happens to a girl whose arm is a literal magic gun who had her, you know, magic arm cut off after she accidentally misfired and kills another of the kids watching from the, you know, not that safe watching room not even a glass mirror away from the training room.
No wonder the girl whose superpower is literally just “can make pretty clouds with her mind” is so eager to kill as many people the government as her to after being conscripted while she was just flying around on her cloud and has to witness... you know, all of this shit.
6C- Maria Hill, Director of Shield and, again, not a fucking Skrull Chaos Agent, starts hunting down unregistered superheroes. Any superhero that didn’t sign up the registration list at least on the exact midnight of the day the law is made law, will be hunted down and forcibly imprisoned without a due process.
This happens to Luke Cage, who, again, on the exact midnight the law is enforced, not a minute more, had his apartment swarmed up with cops in tactical gear ready to “arrest him” despite him doing nothing yet, all the while shooting around the, you know, predominantly black neighbor like they are the Simpsons’ Texan guy. His wife and newborn daughter are also hunted down, the two fleeing to Canada, a safe heaven for superheroes and their families in this time of crisis, for undefended families of superheroes become leverage the registration side can use against them to make them sign up, for at some point a superhero must have revealed his identity to another superhero, another superhero that will statistically be either on the registration side snitching on you, or, you know, a Undercover Skrull Chaos Agent, if not both.
Captured heroes are shipped off to a private prison owned by Tony Stark and his goons in the Negative Zone (Think hell, but more depressing), where they will be interned without, again, any semblance of due process, and will be fucking kept in torture pod of virtual reality for the entirety of their stay. They will not be allowed any contact with the other inmates, or even to feed, relieve or just wash themselves, everything will be done by the pods, so that they will be in eternal, perfect imprisonment until they “see the error of their ways”.
Somewhat worse than the Barry Allen’s private prison in the Flash, if only by just a little.
Some brain washing was also implied to happen.
7- Cap’s Side is, of course, against all of this, yet it will be Cap’s side to lose the civil war, for , when Captain America is pummeling Tony to the ground for everything that has been going on in the middle of a devastated time square, some REAL WORLD HEROES (You know, a cop, a nurse, a fireman, and so on), tackle Steve to the ground, blame HIM for everything wrong that has happened, and ask him to stop in his futile resistance.
Statistically Speaking, at least 2 of those people were a Skrull Chaos Agents BTW.
Steve “sees the error of his ways,” surrenders to the police, is about to be given a sham process (He gets one but fucking daredevil, a lawyer, doesn’t as he’s shipped off to Tony’s Hell Prison? I guess there is a upside on getting arrested by the program in front of witnesses that you cannot all silence) until Sharon Carter shoots him on the steps to the courtroom because he was being mind controlled by a undercover hydra hypnotist that might or might have not been conscripted by the “let’s conscript supervillain scientists in the registration program, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?” thing.
8- Also Hawkeye comes back to life for a bit and is immediately almost manipulated by Tony into taking the Captain America’s role after Steve's death, except this time working for the registration side against his friends, which he ALMOST accepts because he doesn't know what the fuck is going on yet but he trusts tony until he meets Hawkeye (The girl one) and Patriot during his first mission as Registration Cap who tell him “Duuuuude, Steve’s body isn’t even cold yet, what the fuck” which makes him go “Holy shit Tony, what the fuck?” and make him decide to abandon the shield and shit and lay low for a while.
9- Oh, yeah, also this happens:
(Recognize that journalist? Is the same journalist that gives Hydra Cap a interview about how inhumane Hydra was during their regime, the one he sends to the labor camps and mocks with “I’m sure you can complain about it on Twitter later.” That wasn’t just a dig at the (Justified, oh so justified) detractors of Hydra Cap on social medias, but also a dig at THIS. FUCKING. SCENE. THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY FOR ALL DAY TO COME, FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA IS OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE REAL AMERICA BECAUSE HE DOESN'T USE MY FUCKING SPACE).
10- What else what else... Oh, yeah, everyone favorite absolute monarch T’challa, King of Wakanda and Black Panther, married with X-Men’s Storm at the time, X-Man that, btw, have been pretty much neutral during this whole shitstorm due to, you know, the “genocide” they recently suffered by the hands and mystical powers of one Wanda Maximoff, both of whom have diplomatic immunity due to the, you know, status as the rulers of a hyper advanced nation who holds the cure for cancer among other things, has his wife taken hostage by the united states. They go to the united states on a joint diplomatic mission, and are promptly ambushed and kept grounded in the states, separated from each other, until at least Ororo signs the registration program, T’challa having to follow closely behind, and then they will be allowed to be let go.
Again, I can’t stress this enough, The United States try to strong arm 2 foreign rulers, one of whom a mutant, into signing up a domestic policy about domestic internal affairs of public security.
Because of course they do.
10- I think I forgot some minor shit happening like speedball’s entire arc or Wolverine’s revenge plan or the Latverian Caper, but I think the gist of WHY this bullshit would have blown up today is all here.
For you see, now, imagine all this shit all the implications, the crimes, the horrors and stuff...
Just Imagine, all this shit is going on... with a Secret Invasion of Skrull Chaos Agent coming soon to shake thing even more...
And the president of the united states, the one that, again, ultimately will decide who the REAL enemy is, where the real supervillain to fight is...
Is Donald Fucking Trump.
How long until the superhero child soldiers are tasked to guard the border I wonder...

"On the wedding day of Yanko and Katshka, the silence of the camp is broken by the sound of a screeching violin, followed by the wailing of a clarinet and the grunting of a bass viol. Above the discord of noise made by those instruments is heard the voice of the bridegroom, who leads the dance with the song: 'I am so glad I have you, I have you, and I wouldn’t sell you to anyone.' If you enter the house of the bride, you will find it full of sweltering humanity, all of it dancing up and down, down and up, while the fiddlers play and the bridegroom sings about 'The sweetheart he is glad to have and wouldn’t sell to any one.' Usually the Slav dancers provide the notes and the bank notes also; for at the end of the piece half a dozen stalwart men will throw themselves in front of the musicians, each one of them demanding in exchange for the money tossed upon the table, his favorite tune to which he sings his native song. The result is, half a dozen men, each singing or trying to sing, a different song, all of them pushing, crowding, and at last fighting until in the middle of the room you will find en entanglement of human beings which beats itself into an unrecognizable mass." Edward A. Steiner, On the Trail of the Immigrant (Fleming H. Revell) 1906 All of the performers on this collection were born in the late 19th century in a geographical region bounded east to west by the cities of Budapest to Odessa and north to south by Bucharest to Vilnius - an area a little larger than the combined square mileage of Texas and New Mexico. Around 1900, this region was the intersection of three empires, the Austro-Hungarian, Prussian, and Russian, and today includes all or part of ten countries. The period 1890 to 1930 saw the largest wave of immigrants that the United States has ever seen. By its peak in 1907, nearly 15% of the U.S. population was foreign-born with more than half of foreign-born population having arrived from Eastern Europe. The 1940 U.S. census found that 3,569,360 people living in the U.S. spoke Polish, Russian, Slovak, or Ukrainian as their first language, only 200,000 fewer than the number of people for whom Italian was their native language. This does not count native speakers of Yiddish, Hungarian, Czech, Rumanian, or Slovenian. In a 1982 essay on ethnic recordings in the U.S., Pekka Gronow showed that Columbia Records - one of two major record labels in the U.S. before the Second World War - released 1,856 discs for the Polish, Russian, Slovak, and Ukrainian markets between 1923 and 1952. Add to this thousands more released by Victor and numerous smaller labels, in addition to the other Eastern European ethnic/language groups, and it becomes clear that tens of thousands of performances by Eastern Europeans were released in the U.S. by immigrant performers in the first half of the 20th century, greatly outnumbering those by Southern (Italian, French, Greek, etc) and Northern (German, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, English, Irish, Scottish) European immigrants. It was in this era that America built its lexicon of racial slurs: polack, hunkie, russki, kike, etc. for the Eastern Europeans, dago, greaser, wop, etc. for the Southern Europeans. The polite press avoided these terms but argued openly about the presumptions underneath them: Are they criminals? Are they mentally inferior? Are they prone to violence and drunkenness? Are they capable of assimilation? Can they be trusted? Social scientists appeared before Congress and argued, using reams of data gathered from prisons and insane asylums, that America’s integrity, our very moral substance, and the future of the country’s “breeding-stock” would be irreparably denigrated by the continued influx of Eastern and Southern Europeans at the rate things were going. In response, in 1924, the Johnson-Reed act was passed, setting quotas on the number of immigrants allowed in based on their nation of origin. Those numbers were designed to reset the ethnic makeup of the U.S. to what it had been before 1890, namely predominantly White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. And those quotas stood for four decades, so that baby boomers lived most of their lives in an America that was more predominantly native-born than their parents or grandparents had. The repeal of the quota system has allowed for increasing immigration over the past forty years to the point that we are, once again, approaching the level of a 15% foreign-born population, and, once again, we are publicly discussing the same questions: “Can they ever be like us?” “Won’t they take over and make a mess of things?” and, worst of all, “Aren’t they basically violent/ criminal/ inferior/ sick/ bad people?” These have always been questions of power and, inherently, questions arising from fear of the diminution of power. The individuals who played on these recordings were predominantly Slavs - Catholic, Greek and Russian Orthodox primarily, possibly some Protestants - as well as Jews and Roma, speakers of a half-dozen languages and ethnic identities who did not always get along with one another. In the U.S., all lived, at the time of these recordings, near the industrial hubs of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois, where the mines, mills, and factories often worked men six days a week for twelve to fourteen hours. William P. Shriver’s book Immigrant Forces: Factors in the New Democracy (Missionary Education Movement of the United States and Canada, 1913) estimated that the average Lithuanian, Slovak, Polish, South Italian, or Hungarian man over 18 earned $400-$450 a year; 43.5% of the foreign-born population earned under $400 a year. One factory owner said the wage was 16 cents an hour. Asked by an inspector, “how long to they last?” He replied, “Well, they’re no good after forty-five. But you ought to see these Polish women and children work when they’re put to it. Why, a woman and a half-grown girl will feed the whole family, and the man too.. The stockyards are full of them.” The average cost of a record - two songs at a total duration of about six minutes - in the 1920s was between 75 cents and a dollar. Kate Holladay Claghorn’s The Immigrant’s Day in Court (Harper & Bros, 1923) notes: “A clever and heartless scheme, playing upon the immigrant’s homesickness and loneliness was reported to the New York State Bureau of Industries and Immigration [1915]. An offer was made through the foreign press to sell a phonograph ‘with records of your national songs in your own tongue’ on payment of $5 and the balance on small installments. On receiving the machine by express with instructions to collect on delivery the entire amount of the balance. The immigrant, usually unable to pay so large a sum, had to allow the express company to take the machine back, so that the phonograph company retained both the machine and the original payment. A great deal of money was collected in this way. The fraudulent transactions of one man in this line of business was found to have netted him about $125,000 a year, and it was learned that he kept an emergency deposit of $30,000 to be used for legal services should he be arrested. The man, when caught and convicted was fined $750.” Of thee I sing.

Why Black Lives Matter? An explanation for those who do not understand.
Photographer: Clay Banks | Source: Unsplash
What does Black Lives Matter mean?
Black Lives Matter simply means that the lives of Black people are important. It does not mean that Black people are more important than others. It serves as a reminder that they are important. If you feel that Black Lives Matter is an unfair statement remove the invisible “only” from the beginning of the statement and add an invisible “also” to the end (Only Black Lives Matter versus Black Lives Matter Also). Here is a chart to help explain this further.
The movement vs the organization
There is a huge misconception on multiple fronts regarding Black Lives Matter (BLM), so I am going to try and clear up some of the confusion. On one hand many believe that Black Lives Matter is an organization that is behind the movement Black Lives Matter and many do not want to participate in the movement because they do not agree with the tenants of the organization. While there is an organization called Black Lives Matter and it does support the Black Lives Matter movement, it is not entirely responsible for the Black Lives Matter civil rights movement.
While the organization does support the movement that shares its name, the org does not own the phrase Black Lives Matter. There are many organizations and individuals involved in and supporting the movement who have nothing to do with the Black Lives Matter organization. A person can attend a march, protest, or even say Black Lives Matter without agreeing with or supporting the organization Black Lives Matter. For those just learning about the Black Lives Matter organization and wondering what they are about and what may be disagreeable or controversial about it, I will give more information and try to remain unbiased.
youtube
Here is a history of the BLM Movement through the lens of a British news channel. I chose this because I felt that having a foreign perspective would help remove some bias.
Black Lives Matter organization
The Black Lives Matter organization was born from the #blacklivesmatter movement. In fact, one of its founders came up with the hashtag. Here is what the organization is according to its website BlackLivesMatter.com/About
Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.
What the Black Lives Matter organization believes
Here are the tenants of the Black Lives Matter foundation also found on its website at blacklivesmatter.com/what-we-believe/
We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities.
We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people.
We intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting.
We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others.
We see ourselves as part of the global Black family, and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black people who exist in different parts of the world.
We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.
We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.
We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.
We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered.
We practice empathy. We engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts.
We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work.
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).
We cultivate an intergenerational and communal network free from ageism. We believe that all people, regardless of age, show up with the capacity to lead and learn.
We embody and practice justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another.
Is Black Lives Matter a Marxist organization
One of the biggest problems I’ve heard people say that they have with the Black Lives Matter organization and movement is that it was founded by a Marxist. While there have been interviews where the founders have mentioned that they are trained Marxists I have not read any particularly Marxist ideology in any of the literature about the Black Lives Matter organization and I do not see any Marxist ideology reflected in the movement. I do think that the average person does not understand what Marxism is so I will provide a definition. Marxism is a doctrine developed by Karl Marx that included economic and political ideology that is considered the foundation for socialism. Where Marxism gets its bad wrap is its variation, Soviet Marxism adapted by Vladamir Lenin and Joseph Stalin that became the foundation for communism. While I do not know which type of Marxism the founders of the organization were trained in; I will assume it was the original version that gave way to socialism. I came to this conclusion because many of the policy changes both the organization and movement are advocating for, involve reallocating government funds to programs and resources for communities. I am including two short videos one explaining the original form of Marxism and the other explaining Soviet Marxism.

Why is it not alright to say All Lives Matter?
While answering this question I am making one assumption about the person asking the question and that is that this person truly believes that everyone’s life has meaning and is important so they believe that Black Lives Matter is an extension of All Lives Matter and therefore saying All Lives Matter includes Black people. While this sentiment seems obvious it is not that simple. All Lives Matter has become a phrase that is used in response to Black Lives Matter in order to discredit issues brought up by the Black Lives Matter movement. The analogy I find helpful is saying All Lives Matter in response to Black Lives Matter is like saying all diseases are harmful when someone is talking about the dangers of breast cancer. Here are a few other analogies others have found helpful.

What about black on black crime (aka crime)?
After hearing about the Black Lives Matter movement many people ask about black on black crime and what the movement is doing to solve this issue OR why it hasn’t done anything about this issue. First, as someone who has studied the migration and settlement of people and people groups as well as community and economic development I would like to say, backed up by all of my formal and elective education, that black on black crime is not real. It is just crime. Black on black crime is a concept that was created to support the stereotype that black people are inherently more violent than others.
In America, crime is committed by people in close proximity. This means that the majority of crimes are committed by people in the same community as their victims and unfortunately (at least in my opinion) many communities are still segregated. This means that most white people live in communities that are predominantly white, most black people live in communities that are predominantly black, most Hispanic people live in communities that are predominately Hispanic, etc. This means that white people are more likely to commit a crime against another white person, black people are more likely to commit a crime against another black person, and so on. Many people know the statistic that one is more likely to be sexually assaulted by someone they know than by a stranger, well this statistic holds true across all types of crime.
With that being said, I would like to address the portion of the argument that asks why BLM is not addressing crime in the black community. The answer is because this is not the mission of the movement or the organization. There are specific organizations such as the National Urban League that actively address issues that cause crime in urban areas. Here are a couple of videos that provide additional points of view.

Conclusion
I just wanted to add a bit more of my opinion. While I attempted to remain unbiased I’m sure some of my own implicit biases made their way into this article. I would like to add some context so that anyone who reads this may see where I’m coming from and understand those biases. I am a 34-year-old black woman who graduated from the United States Military Academy (GO ARMY!) and served for 5 years on active duty to include one tour to Iraq. I love my country and desire for it to be everything and more than I could ever imagine.
While I have not experienced first hand some of the experiences of those who are active in the BLM movement, I have experienced overt racism on many occasions in my life and I do believe that less obvious forms of racism, such as systemic racism and unconscious negative biases toward people of color, exist in our country. I recognize that I grew up privileged in that my parents made the decision to give me a private school education, even though it made things more difficult for them financially. I had the privilege of growing up with a mother who went to college and was very active in helping me take the necessary steps to apply to and get accepted into one of the best institutions of higher learning in the country. I recognize that as a heterosexual, cisgender, able-bodied person I have the privilege of fitting into society’s idea of what a “normal” woman’s life looks like. In acknowledging the ways that I am privileged I am in no way saying that my life is easy. I have had many struggles and hardships but none of them were because of my gender identity, sexual orientation, physical abilities, or education.
That being said, I will do everything in my power to make this country one where every person, regardless of their identity, is treated with the dignity and respect that every human life deserves.

Types of Granite
Granite is a natural stone and the most popular igneous rock. Many people recognize and successfully identify granite because it’s commonly used for building objects for everyday use.
Granite Definition
Granite is a light-colored igneous rock, coarse-grained. This natural stone consists mainly of quartz and feldspars with some amounts of amphibole minerals and mica. It is harder than marble and has visible grains. People from granite industry who fabricate, sell and purchase cut stone slabs for further use call this natural stone simply ”granite”. The industry calls stones like basalt, gneiss, diabase, monzonite, gabbro, pegmatite, syenite, schist, anorthosite, granodiorite, diorite, and many other rocks, simply “granite.”
Types of Granite Use
Granite industry uses granite stone to create everyday objects like countertops, wall and floor tiles, paving stone, stair treads, curbing, and building veneer. When they quarry granite from the Earth, they cut it into slabs or blocks. These granite slabs and blocks need to have a specific width, thickness, and length. Granite industry uses these slabs further for different purposes depending on these characteristics.
All types of granite are perfect for everyday use because they are heavy and strong, water resistant, wear and tear resistant, and durable. Countertops, floors, and walls made of different types of granite are also beautiful because this stone gets its full shine when polished. All these characteristics make all types of granite a highly desirable stone for multiple uses in both residential and commercial interior.
Types of Granite Colors
Types of granite colors determine minerals and rocks that make granite. Quartz, amphiboles, feldspar, potassium, and mica minerals give granite such unique colors and patterns. Different types of granite colors depend on the concentration of these minerals in the stone.
For example, quartz gives granite mainly milky white color, feldspar provides an off-white shade, biotite gives dark brown or black color, amphibole dark green or black, muscovite – yellow or metallic gold, and unique salmon pink color comes from the abundance of potassium feldspar mineral. The combinations of these minerals give us different types of granite colors – white granite, black granite, black and white, pink granite, red granite, blue granite, and green granite.
Types of Granite Colors

Quartzite vs Granite
Both Quartzite and Granite are natural stones and both are great choices for your project. Learn their differences to choose the one that is right for you.
Cost
If it is pure, quartzite is more expensive than granite.
Looks
It is difficult to see the difference between granite and quartzite as both have mineral quartz in their origin. However, they formed in different ways. Quartzite is commonly found in lighter colors and patterns that resemble marble.
Durability
quartzite and granite are equally durable and require the same level of maintenance. Both are more durable and require less maintenance than marble.
Straight Edge Granite Type
These edges feature a slightly rounded design. They are best for simple and clean, contemporary countertop designs and interiors. This type of edge will easily blend with the kitchen and won’t steal attention from your beautiful granite kitchen top.
Eased Edge Type
This type of granite edge is the most popular. It is not too rounded but it is also not too sharp. This edge is basically a 90-degree square edge that is slightly eased. This type of granite edge adds the thickest look to the granite countertop. It is easy to clean and doesn’t hold spillages that so often happen in a kitchen.
Beveled Edge Granite Type
If you want to achieve a sleek, elegant, and modern look in your kitchen, choose this type of granite edge. Beveled edge features a 45-degree angle clipped flat corner. Your granite fabricator will be able to customize the angle and the width of the bevel edge to meet your needs. Because of its simple, flat design, beveled granite edge is also easy to clean and maintain.
Ogee Edge
This is a classic looking granite edge, perfect for traditional kitchen designs. There is a groove on a bottom that is rounded. Ogee edge can feature a simple, subtle line, or a deeper, more visible and dramatic curve. If you want to make a statement with the edge, that Ogee Edge is perfect for you. Just keep in mind that it would steal too much of attention in a smaller kitchen space. Its curves also take more effort to maintain and keep clean.
Bullnose Edge Type
It features rounded look ideal for sophisticated traditional kitchen and bath decors. Pick this edge type if you want your granite countertop to appear thinner and classic. If you want an ease of maintenance, this is the best of all types of granite edges for you. Keeping it in pristine condition is easy.
Waterfall Granite Edge Type
It is rounded and features clean and sleek look, perfect for modern, contemporary designs. This edge looks like there is almost no edge at all. That is why its name is Waterfall. It seems like granite flows over the countertop without a stopping point. This is also one of the safest granite edges you can choose.

Charlottesville: Hate Groups and Radical Politics
1. UNITE THE RIGHT DEMONSTRATORS
The Ku Klux Klan has a long history of violence and is arguably the most infamous of what we would call American white supremacy groups groups. Black Americans have typically been the Klan's primary target although it also has attacked Jewish people, immigrants, the LGBT community and, until recently, Catholics. The majority of what we would call white supremacist groups tend to target these same people groups.
Whereas the KKK has a broad spectrum of hate, neo-Nazi groups refer to a group of separatist activists who share anti-Semitic ideals and a love for Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany.
Unfortunately, like it or not, these groups are operating legally here in the United States. In one well-known case, the Supreme Court invoked the First Amendment to uphold the right of a neo-Nazi group to march through the predominantly Jewish town of Skokie, Illinois, and display swastikas.
Disgusting yes. But true.
Here is where my belief system diverges from my conservative roots. I wish that all of these groups were listed as terrorist groups or something similar and outlawed. This would include but not be limited to groups such as the KKK, Arian Nation, neo-Nazis, ANTIFA , CAIR , Muslim Brotherhood Black Lives Matter, Black Panthers etc. They are all based on hate, violence, division & social unrest. All serve to divide along racial and or political lines.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) says that it is currently tracking more than 1,600 extremist groups in the country. The challenge would obviously be impartially defining and labeling these groups.
2. ANTIFA, BLM & LEFTIST POLITICS CAUSED THE CHARLOTTSVILLE TRAGEDY
Like it or not, these white supremacist scumbags currently have the legal right to assemble, to speak, and to do so without expectation of having bottles, rocks, punches, mace etc hurled at them. They had every right, like it or not to march down the street with their stupid flags and ignorant message.
Video from the “Unite The Right” demonstration in Charlottesville shows the initiation of violence by counter-demonstrators identified as AntiFa, Black Lives Matter and Marxist agitation groups.
The Main Stream Media (read: left-wing and Democrat aligned news media) outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, and The Washington Post neglected to note the presence of communist black racial nationalist paraphernalia displayed by counter-demonstrators. Instead they chose to describe the "counter-demonstrators" as “anti-racist.”
This was in fact the case. It is all captured on video.

3. PRESIDENT TRUMP HANDLED THIS CORRECTLY
There is EQUAL blame to go all the way around in this situation. And this is exactly what Trump said.
This is the actual transcript:
"But we're closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Va.. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides. It's been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society. And no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play or be with their parents and have a good time.
"I just got off the phone with the governor of Virginia, Terry Mcauliffe, and we agree that the hate and the division must stop, and must stop right now. We have to come together as Americans with love for our nation and true -- really, I say this so strongly, true affection for each other."
You may not like Donald Trump's speech patterns, I know I don't, however:
1. The police failed the community.
2. The white supremacist groups have a hateful message
3. Antifa , Black Lives Matter & the other Marxist groups have a hateful message AND began the violence.
4. Hateful violence was met with hateful violence and ended in a death.
That's "hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides"
President Trump then stated and asked for:
1. "It has no place in America"
2. "a swift restoration of law and order"
3. "the protection of innocent lives"
4. A coming "...together as Americans with love for our nation and true affection for each other"
4. PRESIDENT TRUMP IS NOT A RACIST
From 1991 until November 2016, Donald Trump has flat out rejected David Duke & the KKK no less than 55 times in 15 public occasions. Seven of those occasions happened before a CNN interview in which he insisted “I know nothing about” David Duke or white supremacists.
Rather than accept what Trump meant, the media made ridiculous memes out of this instance mischaracterizing “I know nothing about” instead of “I disavow,” to make it seem as if Trump somehow wanted the support of the KKK.
For God sakes, his daughter, son in law and grandchildren are all Jewish.
5. THIS IS RADICAL POLITICS AT ITS WORST
Dr. Bill Perkins, in response to Charlottsville, put it better than anyone when he stated : "When you violently shove your finger down your throat, vomit is usually the result. For the last eight years, the left has been shoving their radical agenda down the throat of America and what we are seeing today is the result."
This does not justify genuine racism or ignore the ravages of hate, it is simply to say that we have got to focus on stopping the finger thrust of leftism or else we will never clean up the vomit. It will continue forever.
Racism is a real issue, and it must be eradicated. AND at the same time, what we saw in Charlottesville, was the result of a concerted effort of those who seek to benefit from chaos, and who seek to grab power out of the ruins of American culture: that is the ugly face of leftism and "The Swamp" which includes Democrats, establishment Republicans, the mainstream media and leftist funded groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter.
The side on the left is far more powerful and dangerous that all of the white supremacy groups combined.
As Dr. Bill Perkins aptly put it, "While neo-Nazis and white supremacists exist in the dark fringes of America and are roundly and regularly condemned by all sides, leftist Marxists are out in the open, enjoying the bully pulpit of the media and near universal celebration by the ignorant and the devious. If we fail to see leftism as the real driving force behind the racial turmoil in this country, then we will never truly solve the problem."

so i’ve already done a well recieved text post on some actual facts about takashi shirogane and the entire thing is mostly joking but also completely my headcanons forever
but i figured in honour of season three just kidding i’ve been up all night reading voltron fanfiction havent gotten around to watching S3 yet so here some shiro headcanons that are actually my legit take on his life pre-kerberos
he’s only a partial american citizen. as a teenager, he was a japanese citizen with a school visa to attend the garrison, and after graduating he very easily recieved a work visa, but eventually for conveniences sake reluctantly went for partial citizenship once things started getting serious. he’s not happy about it. he’s in america for the space, he’s not a fan of the country as a whole.
and on the same note, due to being an american and japanese citizen, during the early stages of the kerberos mission set up (like years before launch) the publicity team initially tried to label him as an american astronaut. the second he found out, shiro very firmly demanded that everything related to him be marked with japans flag, not americas, thank you very much.
and again on that note, due to being the sole pilot of the furthest space mission ever, and doing it as a japanese astronaut, shiro met the prime minister of japan once. if there wasnt pictures of him with the prime minister, shiro probably would have convinced himself it wasnt real.
his first language was japanese, obviously. he learned how to read at about three, due to his parents reading to him literally every night, and also him being a genius. he didn’t give the faintest hint of a fuck about other languages, until he realised he wanted to join the galaxy garrison, at which point he went oh shit it’s only in english there, and started studying english like a madman. and spanish, because america’s got two official languages and you never know. and french and russian, because canada and russia are the other major players in space, and you can never be too careful.
mind you he learned these all in a purely academic setting as a teenager, so while he was fluent in all of them by the time he was old enough for the garrison, he was unpleasantly surprised to find that everyone used too much slang and contractions, and he was speaking in a very stilted and mechanical way with a hell of an accent. it took him about a year to get his english to a natural level, and he put up with harrasment for years until he managed to completely scrub out his accent. as a result, the majority of his friends at the garrison were other ESL students from overseas. he still kept every single one of his electronics set to japanese, and when tired, distracted or stressed, if someone tries to talk to him he is much more likely to respond in japanese without noticing. any time he’s returning from a trip home to visit his family, for the first week he starts every other sentence in rapid japanese, stops halfway through, thinks it over, and repeats himself in slower english. its rough to switch over.
he started going by shiro because in his first year, luck of the draw meant he was the only non-american in his astrophysics class, and the instructor was one who believed in groupwork and lots of it, so within a month everyone was acquaintances. there was mass confusion about if shiro’s name was shirogane or takashi, and attempts to explain made it worse. the matter was not helped by this being first year, and shiro not having the best grasp on conversational english. eventually he gave up and just told them all to call him shiro, because just shirogane sounded weird when everyone else went by their first names, and people kept pronouncing takashi weird so he gave up and took a nickname. it grew on him and he stuck with it.
while the garrison had the most international students out of any school in america, it was still very much a predominantly american school with 60% of the students being american. another 20% were canadian, british or australian. white native english speakers were a vast majority, and shiro had to deal with some racists. the racists he honestly didnt mind too much, because he could just physically drag them to an instructor he knew was sympathetic, explain what happened, and boom problem solved. what he absoloutely fucking hated were the weeaboos. he hated them. hated them so much. as a very attractive japanese teenager, he was getting weird fetishizing love letters at least once a month. and the amount of times he got invited to join the anime club. explaining to them that no he actually couldnt stand anime was too much of a chore to be worth it. eventually he worked out how to be juuuust enough of an asshole that they went away, but he wasnt in trouble for it. it was a very frustrating part of his life.
he grew up on hokkaido, specifically in sapporo because hunk and lance are both from tropical islands, keith is from desert texas, and pidge probably lived in the south her whole life because her father was a Big Deal with the galaxy garrison, which is the evolved form of NASA, and NASA operated entirely in the south. my canadian heart cannot handle an entire team thats used to just different shades of fucking hot, i need one of them to be from freeze your balls off up north, and its gotta be shiro.
although ironically, while shiro was more than happy to join the unofficial tradition of students from cold areas laughing at students from warm areas whenever the temperatures dropped, shiro was spending most of the year in florida, where the garrison is, and going back to sapporo during the summer for breaks, as the winter and spring break werent long enough to make the flights worth it. his tolerance for the cold dropped dramatically. his first year after graduating, he went back to sapporo in december for the first time, and was very displeased to realise that he was not prepared for the cold anymore. not prepared at all. oh god. holy shit.
after his application into the garrison was approved, things were a bit awkward for shiro because this meant unenrolling from the high school he’d been attending, and waiting to start class in the new semester at the galaxy garrison. he got the acceptance in spring. classes in japan start in april. classes in america start in september. it was like being on break, but it lasted half a year. it was surreal for shiro. i mean sure, there was preparing to go to america alone, but passport and visa prep only takes up so much time, and luggage/packing isnt a problem until the week leading up to leaving. he spent a lot of time lying around the house during that half year. you can only study alone for so long before you need to do something else. the sudden switch from the highly pressured japanese school enviroment to ~nothing to do~ was very jarring, but ended up functioning as a sort of gap year. as a genius kid, he was under a lot of pressure. being able to take a step back and breathe did him a world of good.
shiro is extremely foul mouthed, but has a reputation for almost never swearing. this is because he never completely gets the hang of english swearing, and decides to just not bother with working out how to properly say things that will land him in shit anyways. but he swears. almost constantly. just, in japanese. its hilariously common for other students to think “oh, there goes shiro, thinking outloud to himself” while shiro is actually violently swearing under his breath about forgetting his notes in his dorm. in his last year, he accidentally traumatized a first year from tokyo, when he was attempting to find a book he needed for his thesis from the library, and the computer he was using refused to cooperate. this led to him furiously cursing out the poor computer. in earshot of the first year, whose offended gasp was legendary. shiro immediately bribed her into secrecy. noone must know.
shiro realised he was pansexual during his half year hangtime between high school and garrison. while not exactly locked in the closet, he didn’t really think the information needed to be shared with anyone, and he was too busy with classes to really want to date anyone. he was only trying to hide his orientation from the weeaboos, mentioned earlier, who would have gotten even worse with the creepy fetishizing and never left him alone. he’s never really dated, and his experience is fooling around with other cadets, and the occasional one night stand when he was older with civilians his age in the nearby town. upon being considered for the kerberos mission, he immediately started very carefully making sure nobody found out about his sexuality. the first public broadcast from the kerberos ship was live to the world, and ended with shiro cheerfully declaring himself the first openly pansexual man in space. mission control had not been warned of this. the only parties warned in advance were sam and matt holt, and they both strongly approved of the idea.
after the kerberos team was declared dead from pilot error, it eventually came out that the garrison had no idea what caused the mission failure, and that the ship just suddenly lost communication and vanished, and that the pilot had been a convenient scapegoat. there was immediate backlash from a great deal of parties. over two dozen different LGBT and/or POC rights groups filed lawsuits against the Garrison, calling rascism and/or homophobia. international relations between america and japan turned frosty. shiro had previously been considered a national tragedy crossed with embarrasement for apparently fucking up such an important mission, but oh the speed at which that turned around. multiple cities, including sapporo and tokyo, comission statues of shiro practically overnight. he immediately swung around to national tragedy crossed with hero.

The Science Agenda to Exterminate Blacks
A think tank in the UK says too many kids are what's making planet worse in many black communities for every child actually born three others are aborted more than double the rate among whites some say abortion is the number one killer in the black community african-americans here in this country are the only ethnic group in any place on the globe that's not replacing themselves this is this is genocide Hillary Clinton received the Margaret Sanger award this is a woman who started an organization called Planned Parenthood and that woman called black people human weeds an organization whose founder believed in eugenics the goal to rid the country of the feeble-minded defectives states in the United States refusing to compensate victims who were forcibly sterilized because they were deemed unfit to reproduce if they could keep certain segments of the population from reproducing that all the world's problems would disappear and so we have spent the past few weeks calling and emailing politicians in California and the silence has been astonishing welcome to this talk it's called the science agenda to exterminate blacks this is a fact-based presentation but it is not politically correct in the status quo halls of science and medicine because they don't want this talked about and they especially don't want it talked about by a white scientist and I'll give you a little bit of information about my background soon so you understand I'm wearing where I'm coming from and why I'm taking the steps to go public with this information the truth is there is a concerted organized long-standing effort to eliminate African Americans from the human gene pool not just African Americans by the way but Africans this this is happening right now you are being subjected to it it's happening through multiple vectors of science medicine and food that I will detail here in this talk and it's all being done covertly so almost no one is aware of this the entire mainstream media refuses to acknowledge this the scientific community will say that none of this is true and yet if you look at the facts that I'm going to share with you in the history that's undeniable you will see there is a concerted organized effort to eliminate blacks ie African Americans I'm gonna use those terms interchangeably just for brevity here but there there is an effort to eliminate those people from the human gene pool my background just so you know my name is Mike Adams I'm known as the health Ranger I am a lab science director I founded and built a world-class analytical laboratory from scratch it is ISO accredited it's recognized around the world for analytical science of heavy metals and food contamination environmental contamination and so on we've done volunteer work testing over 600 samples of the u.s. Water supply and we've also volunteered our lab efforts to Native American tribes who have been impacted by the EPA's poisoning of their rivers so by the way it's not just blacks that are trying to be eliminated by the status quo it's also Native Americans and other minority groups that are routinely targeted by not just the EPA but other groups that we'll talk about here I do want you to know that because I am an outspoken science whistleblower that I am maliciously attacked defamed lied about I am targeted for intimidation tactics they try to silence my words they try to make sure that you can't hear this talk I've been death threaded I've been stalked I have to live a lifestyle of extreme secrecy and I'm armed 24/7 including right now and this is what it takes in our world today to tell the truth about science and medicine especially when you are uncovering a mass agenda of genocide and eugenics which is very prevalent through our systems of science and medicine today so I do want all of you to know all of you who are watching if you're sharing this with friends and colleagues I do want you to know that that I'm putting myself at risk to say these things especially as a credible scientist of a an accredited laboratory facility which has everything to do with the heavy metals poisoning that we're going to talk about they absolutely don't want this information getting out so let's let's start with something that we can all easily agree upon because it has been in the news everywhere and that is the heavy metals poisoning of the predominantly black communities of Flint Michigan so the no one says that's a conspiracy theory right the water supply for millions of citizens in that region who again were predominantly black was allowed to be deliberately poisoned with lead a toxic heavy metal that causes bone disorders but more importantly it causes a kind of brain lobotomy it causes loss of cognitive function it reduces IQs it causes heart problems and many other problems this was deliberately allowed to poison the water supply of Flint Michigan knowing that that water supply served minority communities and in fact this was so deliberate and it was so criminal that the the Attorney General of Michigan has so far filed at least 43 criminal charges against predominantly scientists and bureaucrats who ran teams of scientists water quality experts and so on many of whom have been charged with felony crimes now water quality officials in Flint Michigan were tasked with testing the water and making sure that it was you know clean or safe to drink and yet every time they they showed lead in the water they covered it up and they ditch that sample they deleted it from the spreadsheet you know they they replace it with another sample from some other source they committed massive scientific fraud and they did this deliberately to cover up the fact that the African American population of Flint Michigan or Detroit greater Detroit was being systematically poisoned and this was going on this was going on year after year and it could be going on now in other cities across the country what we have found in our testing is that about percent of the municipal water in America is poisoned with heavy metals we've published those numbers at Natural Science Journal dot-org in a science paper that shows you the actual data it turns out that those areas that are most affected by these toxic heavy metals tend to be those with a predominantly larger population of african-americans so it's the minority communities that are being impacted more so than let's say you know rich white communities getting back to the Flint Michigan situation we know that they knew about this and they failed to tell people they covered it up and they allowed it to continue they deliberately allowed millions of children and adults senior citizens who were predominantly black to be poisoned with this toxic heavy metal would that have happened in a rich California white community I doubt it I doubt it in 2007 Chicago convened a breast cancer task force to try to figure out why so many black men and women were dying of cancer for black women it's mostly breast cancer for black men it's mostly prostate cancer and across the cancer industry every doctor will tell you that cancers are known to be far more severe in african-american patients then most say Caucasian patients but they don't understand why and I'll tell you why it's a very simple reason has everything to do with melanin in the skin if you have darker skin pigmentation because your ancestors came from a region closer to the equator where sun exposure is more intense and so the melanin in the skin is designed to block UV radiation it's a built-in sunscreen it's actually a feature you know black skin is a is a feature it's a survival mechanism of those whose ancestors lived near the equator but it blocks vitamin D production at the same time you see because the ancestors all of our ancestors were outdoors people they spent their time outdoors I didn't live in offices and work indoors all day long so they had too much Sun and so the dark skin pigmentation blocked the excessive Sun and it protected them from UV radiation well today we all live indoors don't wait for the most part indoor lifestyles office jobs even people who work in hospitals are working indoors and when black people work indoors or live indoors they become sunlight deficient especially because of the melanin in their skin so now that that same feature of their skin that blocked excessive Sun radiation in let's say Africa now in New Jersey or New York it's it's a detriment because it's causing African American populations to become deficient in vitamin D and this is what's happening in Chicago and Detroit and especially the more northern latitudes of northern United States Canada and so on black men in the UK have very high rates of prostate cancer and when they get diagnosed with prostate cancer the prognosis is less positive than let's say a white person with prostate cancer the cancers are more aggressive they're more deadly the answer is lack of vitamin D and yet in 2007 this Chicago breast cancer taskforce convened I think over a hundred doctors and nurses to try to have a powwow a team effort to try to figure out why as cancer worse in black people in Chicago and wouldn't you know it after spending days or even weeks on this project they couldn't come up with the truth the truth that people with dark skin or sunlight deficient their vitamin D deficient and that's why the cancer is more aggressive because vitamin D halts cancer and vitamin D can be purchased for a nickel a day every black person in Chicago in Detroit New York in the UK could prevent cancer about four out of five cancers by the way with nothing but vitamin D and yet the cancer industry won't tell them that so here's a case where you have a disease that is disproportionately more aggressive in blacks versus whites white people they absorb sunlight more efficiently when they're outdoors so they need less time in the Sun to generate the same amount of vitamin D as a black person who needs more time in the Sun and yet nobody is telling African Americans this simple truth nobody this information is being denied the black community in America and it's just again a very small part of the overall vector that I'm going to be continuing to reveal here that is an effort to exterminate blacks now let's talk about the abortion industry I'm not going to download politics on you about whether you think abortion should be legal or illegal or illegal in the third trimester and legal and the other two or whatever that's your deal that's another day another topic my point is that abortion ends a life and it ends certainly a potential life and I say abortion ends a living and living human baby now abortion centers are deliberately set up where predominantly black communities abortion messaging and abortion marketing is more aggressive toward black communities than it is white communities or non black communities the Planned Parenthood / abortion industry needs a steady supply of black women getting pregnant and wanting to terminate those pregnancies in order for them to be able to harvest tissue and organs from partial birth abortions which are almost all black babies now a partial birth abortion in case you're not familiar with this is when there's a baby that could be born and could be brought into this world is capable of breathing and living it's conscious it has it has memory as it has sensory complexity it has consciousness it has feelings and it's partially born let's say just the head is born and then at that moment the abortion center murders that baby and then they harvest the organs they will harvest the brainstem they will harvest the lungs they will harvest the kidneys they will harvest the heart and they you know what they do with those tissues well we're told they use them for medical research it turns out most of those tissues are sold to vaccine manufacturers and they use those tissues to grow biomass for vaccines that are then injected into other children and this is openly admitted by the vaccine industry and the CDC and on my website natural news we've covered we have shown screenshots of the ingredients lists of these vaccines such as chicken pox vaccines varicella uses human fetal tissue and that human fetal tissue comes predominantly from black babies so it's not just that the abortion centers are set up in predominantly black communities to reduce the population numbers of black children and future black adults but it's also that those black children are having their organs harvested in order to make vaccines that are injected into other babies there there is a kind of racial medical cannibalism that is taking place in America today and it combines the evil of the Planned Parenthood abortion industry and the vaccine industry combines all that with an overlay of eugenics and genocide and by the way if you don't think that abortion is tied to a history of eugenics and genocide you need to read the history of Margaret Sanger one of the key founders of Planned Parenthood who called black people human weeds and she said that it's better to kill black babies in the womb so that they don't become adults and I'm paraphrasing I don't know the exact quote but it's something along those lines she saw abortion as a key vector of exterminating the black population in our world and that goal is being carried out today and by the way she was so effective with this narrative and with this obscene twisted logic of genocide that the Nazis borrowed her narrative and her mindset and said that sounds like a good idea let's apply it to the Jews so Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich their holocaust against the Jews was modeled after the Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger eugenics genocide model that continues today in America there is a Holocaust in America today and it's a holocaust that specifically targets black Americans and yet there is virtually no outcry now in case you're having difficulty believing any of this let's go to the news let's go to what's being widely reported about medical experiments targeting African babies all right and you can find the article and the sources for this on natural news.com officials of Pfizer a major drug company and vaccine manufacturer are under arrest in Nigeria and I'm gonna read you a little bit here and I apologize for the pronunciation here but judge Shehu a tegu in the city of Cano said that the Nigerian Pfizer head magazi Eddowes Ian and senior company officials from Pfizer Laurie ballet and Segundo guro failed to appear in court and compliance with a court order that's seeking a two point six billion dollar fine from Pfizer charging that the company illegally tested an experimental antibiotic known as trove and on children in Cano during a meningitis outbreak in 1996 so you see they use disease to test new drugs and by the way you'll find out they it's it's the industry is spreading the disease in order to push the vaccines and they always use Africans for their experiments it's it's across the board well I'll give you more examples this illegal experiment on African children led to the deaths of 11 children and dozens of other children experienced severe harm now that shouldn't surprise anyone because it rings true with the history of the Tuskegee syphilis experiments those experiments conducted in the United States with the approval of US health authorities and government authorities was begun in 1932 and there were over 600 volunteers who were exploited by the medical system these are black men predominantly they were exploited by the system they were told they were going to receive phenomenal care that they were going to get extra money that they were going to be treated well instead they were denied treatment so that the medical establishment again these are scientists so that they could observe the progression of this disease as black men suffered and died and this wasn't in Africa this was on US soil this was in the 1930s and this is one where they got caught because there have been dozens of other examples of this kind of medical experimentation in the United States which usually targets black people black prisoners in particular and we could talk about the prison industry and and how it's a business that's another topic but once they get people into that prison system they then use them for medical experiments and they have done so routinely throughout American history and if you think that the American government has gone out of its way to to protect blacks in America you need to go back and read reread your history the FBI wrote a letter encouraging Martin Luther King jr. To commit suicide the FBI ran a violent race on on black civil rights groups throughout the 1960s and 70s and to this day the FBI runs domestic terrorism operations that they call sting operations where the FBI sets up the plan the FBI gets the fake bombs the FBI it acquires the vehicle whatever the agenda calls for they'll go after you and in science and medicine they're going after you right now so let's continue let me give you more evidence because I want you to judge this on the evidence now and just a quick side note you notice how the recent Ebola outbreak well a couple years ago happened in Africa now I don't have proof of this but there are many in the industry of the immunization industry vaccine industry holistic medicine industries who believe that those those strains of Ebola were weaponized and were allowed to escape in certain African nations in order to assess the epidemiological impact and to test new drugs and also as a false flag to push more funding for Ebola vaccines in the United States and that that nurse that was brought to Texas was allowed to come in and was allowed to spread Ebola to another person in Texas which is what happened so that they could call for more vaccines they create a panic they create the outbreak and then they push billions of dollars of funding for more vaccines in Africa there are groups that provide vaccines to young African women and these vaccines are often disguised as tetanus shots and this is done usually in conjunction with UNICEF the global the global group UNICEF and also Kiwanis International which is supposed to be you know a community group across the United States and elsewhere they have a project that they've used to give tetanus vaccines to black women in Africa the name of this project and I kid you not I'm not making this up the name of the project is the eliminate project the eliminate project what are they eliminating turns out that various Catholic mission groups that are Pro vaccine and that have been administering these vaccines to young women across Africa sent some of these vaccines to laboratories for analysis of their composition and there they were shocked to find that a very high percentage of these vaccines are being laced with covert sterilization chemicals this is a fact this is openly admitted this in fact they blew the whistle on this they went public with it the US media didn't report this but outside the US this is widely widely reported in fact we've covered it on natural news the Catholic Bishops in Kenya they actually urged the Kenyan Ministry of Health to a block vaccines from UNICEF and the World Health Organization because the World Health Organization approves of these covert sterilization vaccines isn't that interesting now where are these vaccines given are they given in Boulder Colorado which is predominantly white no no such covert sterilization chemicals in Boulder Colorado all right are these vaccines found in Salt Lake City Utah are they trying to eliminate Mormons no no such covert sterilization chemicals in Salt Lake City Utah where they found they found the vaccines given to young women in Mexico Nicaragua the Philippines and Africa so the covert sterilization chemicals just happened to show up in countries with either black people or brown people and these vaccines are all approved by the World Health Organization and other such groups that operate at the global level isn't that interesting do you think that's coincidence because I challenge you if you think that's coincidence you're not connecting the dots a few years ago in the United States a top scientist for the CDC Centers for Disease Control the vaccine pushing group in the government top scientist named dr. William Thompson went public through a legal firm posted an admission of guilt said that he and his colleagues while working at the CDC had taken part in a massive scientific fraud a cover-up where they found a 340 percent higher risk of autism in young african-american boys under the age of three who were given these vaccines versus non black children a 340 percent increased risk of autism now those of you who are watching this if you're part of the black community you know autism is an epidemic across black communities in America today right you know that how many young and they're mostly boys aren't they mostly boys how many young black boys have had their brains permanently damaged by the vaccine industry with the knowledge of the CDC the knowledge that they are harming disproportionately black children but not so many white children now there are white children who are autistic but the numbers for black children are disproportionately much higher 340 percent higher now the CDC knew about this they had this this information they knew the results and they chose to cover it up and one of their scientists went public with it blew the whistle now the entire mainstream media in America NPR Washington Post New York Times CNN everybody they all covered it up they all blacklisted the news they decided not to report this altogether which shows you by the way that there they have no journalism they are fake news they don't do real investigations they chose not to cover this actually I happen to know they were ordered not to cover this the CDC issues orders to the media by the way they order the media when to spread panic about outbreaks they order the media when to not say something about dangers of vaccines the CDC is a criminal operation and just as a quick side note a Democrat Robert F Kennedy jr. Has now called for the extradition of a CDC vaccine science fraud artist who fled the country with millions of dollars in taxpayer money and is has been hiding out in Europe and his name is Paul Thorson and he worked with the CDC to fabricate fake vaccine safety studies and he's a fugitive from justice the CDC is a criminal organization so they covered this up knowing that it damaged black babies 340 percent more than white babies are you still telling me this is all coincidence really what causes the damage in black children turns out that there are genetic differences between babies who come from predominantly African ancestry versus those of more European ancestry and that those genetic differences offer various expressions of predisposition to clearing mercury from your body and so many of these black babies they can't clear mercury out as quickly as the white babies and when they're all injected with mercury which is what happens because thimerosal is a mercury preservative still used in vaccines given to pregnant women in America and given the children in America the white babies can clear out the mercury very quickly and this suffer little or no damage most of the time the black babies the mercury continues to circulate in their bodies and brains for days or weeks sometimes months and they can be permanently harmed and brain damaged and they can be made autistic and it is happening every day in America and the vaccine industry went to Congress several years ago and got absolute legal immunity granted to their entire industry for any vaccine listed on the childhood immunization schedule so if you're a black mother a black father your child perfectly healthy normal has a great future and that child let's say the two years old you take them in to get vaccinated because the doctor told you the VAX vaccinate your children right you get that child vaccinated sometimes 48 hours later boom that child's brain damage for life autistic for life and you can't sue the manufacturer for their faulty product because Congress conspired with the vaccine companies to grant them all legal immunity you can't even take your case to court the US Supreme Court already ruled on that you can't take your case to a regular court you have to go to a secret vaccine court run by the vaccine industry that denies almost all claims and even then by the way even though they deny almost all claims the vaccine court has paid out over three billion dollars to victims of vaccine damage that were proven to have been damaged by vaccines if the truth about this came out and if if families of autistic children especially in the black community we're able to really take their cases to court and seek justice through the legal system it would bankrupt the entire pharmaceutical industry which is what should happen by the way the vaccine industry specifically allows damage to happen to black babies and that's if they survive abortion you know it you know how hard it is to be conceived as a as a black child and make it through gestation and and be born alive and not be murdered and then to make it through the vaccines and then to make it through the psychiatric medicine and everything else it's it's it's it's incredibly difficult just to survive and that is on purpose because the science and medical establishments are working deliberately to exterminate black people from this planet to wipe you out from human civilization they're doing it it's happening right now now continuing with the vaccine agenda to exterminate blacks from the world you need to know something about polio and polio vaccines there are two ways you can get polio one is to catch it from a wild circulating polio virus second way is to get it from a polio vaccine it's a well known phenomenon it's called vaccine induced polio now when they inject children with polio or they do nasal vaccines or other forms of vaccines not all the vaccines are fully attenuated which means weakened they're not all fully weakened some of them have live viruses so sometimes when they're giving vaccines to children in large numbers some small percentage of those children are going to be infected with with the disease with polio it's called vaccine induced polio now recently 355 children were vaccinated in Syria Middle Eastern country right 355 children 30 55,000 children vaccinated against polio why were they vaccinated because there was a polio outbreak what caused the polio outbreak polio vaccine this was a vaccine induced polio outbreak that was then treated with more vaccines now 355,000 children were then injected if one out of a thousand children it catches polio from a polio vaccine then didn't they just create 355 more children with polio yes they did and that will be reported as an outbreak and someone will call for the World Health Organization or UNICEF to come in and vaccinate you know a million children whatever it takes you see the vaccines are the continuation of the disease that they claim to stop now if you understand epidemiology statistics science and medicine it is true that in a population let's say you have a million children and let's say polio is endemic let's say half the children in the country have polio in that case because the infection rate is so high a polio vaccine can drastically bring down that infection rate and save far more lives than it would terminate because because the rate of infection is so high but that same vaccine when the rate of infection is very low if you give that vaccine to large numbers of children hundreds of thousands or millions you will create more disease than you halt the same vaccine it all has to do with how many children are currently infected versus versus how many you're in you're actually vaccinating if you vaccinate a lot of children who are not infected you're gonna cause infections you're gonna cause outbreaks and this is what is used in Africa this is this is what is used across the world to keep the disease process going so they can keep manufacturing vaccines which are remember made from aborted black babies we're talking human fetal cell tissue they take it from the babies they take it from the abortions Planned Parenthood sells it to these companies and they put it in large vats and they inoculate it with viral strains and they grow and fester a large amount of biomass of disease material and then they homogenized that with tissue homogenizers they filter that they put it into vaccine vials with other ingredients that are toxic like aluminum or squalene or mercury and then they inject that into other kids we are living in a world people wake up and understand this we're living in a world where they are murdering and grinding up black babies to feed them to other babies this is like the matrix they are this is medical cannibalism it's actually happening every day many of these vaccines are made from human fetal tissue that's harvested from aborted black babies and you know what a lot of doctors don't even know it a lot of the pharmacists don't even know it because they've never read the ingredients of a vaccine they don't even know all you got to do is go to the CDC read the ingredients FDA website it's all right there it's huh it's all out in the open but no one no one wants to believe it because it's too horrifying it's too evil a recent study funded by the CDC literally run the CDC using CDC money and CDC scientists found that vaccines cause spontaneous abortions so they're pushing back scenes on the pregnant women right you've heard that recently all pregnant women are encouraged to go out and get multiple vaccines which never was taught in medicine until the last twenty years before that doctors were told no no no you never you never vaccinate a pregnant woman that could harm a child you know the unborn baby now they're like oh you're pregnant get get shot up with vaccines take antidepressant drugs take chemotherapy just poison the crap out of your body don't worry it doesn't affect the baby but it does because these medical Liars are Jenna Seidel homicidal maniacs they're deceiving you they're lying to you they know that vaccines cause spontaneous abortions it's just been admitted by the CDC now we've covered this study on natural news.com and want you to go there I want you to read it and I want you to we link directly to the journal and I think the journal is vaccines by the way where this study was published you can read it yourself it's not a conspiracy theory it's openly admitted by the CDC vaccines cause spontaneous abortions one more population control mechanism oh by the way speaking of population control let me give you a couple of websites before I get to the last and most shocking point in all of this we've got three websites that you can check out where you can learn more about this every day okay depopulation news genocide dot news and eugenics dot news these are all dot news domains but again depopulation genocide and eugenics all dot news go there there's gonna be some overlap of articles there but your eyes will be opened you will come to see the truth about what's actually happening and if you are black or african-american and you're listening to this you need to know the truth about how you are being targeted for extermination you and your children and your grandchildren and your parents you are all being targeted for extermination now extent we are all being targeted in different ways because there is a depopulation agenda that wants to reduce the entire global population to about 1 billion people but it seems from observing the way they're doing this they they sure do want to get rid of black people first and they're actively doing it it's happening right now it's right under your nose most people have no clue that it's going on and you've got black lives matter out there marching for social justice completely oblivious to everything I've just said where's black lives matter talking about the abortion industry or the vaccine industry or the psychiatric medication of young black kids or the autism epidemic or the use of black children for medical experiments black lives matter doesn't touch any of those things it might bash some heads at some speech that they don't like maybe take down a couple of Nazis or some white supremacist you know bash some white hoods out there they might they might have a little bit of success at that but guess what you're still being exterminated because it's in the food it's in the medicine the scientific community is working to exterminate you hey your enemy is not even the Nazis and the white supremacist it's the scientists it's the pharmacology evildoers it's it's it's the drug companies it's the vaccine companies it's the abortion providers that's who's killing you all right in 1969 New York Times ran an article authored by gladwyn Hill that's his name Gladwin hill he's the author you can look this up the article is entitled a sterility drug in food is hinted the article cited a scientist named Paul Ehrlich who's a depopulation advocate as well as the key the chief science advisor for then President Richard Nixon and his name the science advisor is let's see Lee dr. Lee do bridge and he said quote listen this quote very carefully he said quote population control should be the prime task of every government here's how they were going to accomplish this this is all in the New York Times in 1969 I've reprinted the article in natural news.com if you want to see this you can read it for yourself you can convince yourself I'm not making this up this is all on the record ok he said quote the addition of a temporary sterilant to staple foods or to the water supply would be the way to achieve mandatory infertility did you catch that in 1969 they called for secretly inserting sterilization chemicals into the food supply and the water supply to depopulate the planet is not a conspiracy theory it's in the new york times 1969 same year we landed a man on the moon right advanced technology what do they want to do with it they want to exterminate blacks with it now notice they called for adding this covert sterilization chemical to the food supply and the water supply well what has happened since then lead poisoning in Flint Michigan it's a damaging chemical in the water supply isn't it so right out of the playbook from 1969 this is part of the plan and that's just one time they got caught what about the tetanus vaccines in Africa that were found to be contaminated with a sterilization chemical same thing they were going to hide it in the food and the water now they're putting in the vaccines it's all it's all consistent oh and by the way that chemical that they found in the vaccines it's called beta BCG beta BCG let me describe this to you alright beta BCG causes the female body to have an immune system response that builds antibodies that destroy her own fetus if she gets pregnant do you realize that through this chemical that they secretly insert into the vaccines they can cause a black woman's body to turn against itself and to murder its own baby in absolute violation of natural law and biblical principles and medical morality and everything else and they were putting this sterilization chemical into these vaccines without the informed consent of the women who are being sterilized this is evil medicine this is evil science this is genocide in the name of vaccines for public safety right that's what they tell you oh this is all for public safety while they're making an African woman's body murder her own baby before it can be born and they don't tell her about it that's medicine that's public safety that's a Holocaust it's a holocaust against blacks across our planet now you see you see why why I have to speak this truth you see why it wasn't it Edmund Burke who said all that's necessary for for evil to prevail is that good men do nothing right I'm not gonna stand here and be silent I'm not gonna stand here and be intimidated those people out there you know they can they can slander and they can defame me all they want all day and night call me anything fake news lies fake accusations the truth is that you people are genocide 'el maniacs trying to kill black babies that turn black women against their own babies you're trying to turn a woman's womb into a murder system through the use of covert sterilization chemicals that is a scientific and medical fact and that's why I'm standing here today to speak this truth to put it on the record so that no one can hide from this fact that this genocide is taking place right now today it's not 1932 Tuskegee Experiment anymore it's more advanced now it's not just one vector killing black people it's five or six different vectors it's in the food it's in the vaccines it's in the medicine it's in the psychiatric drugs oh and let's get to the food because this is the final chapter of this that will absolutely shock you now your your hopefully aware of genetic engineering of the food supply right there called GMOs or genetically modified organisms this is a advanced science technique to alter the DNA of food crops in order to build in certain traits and physical properties or even chemical properties that the scientists want to put into the food now we will explain to you how your food is now being weaponized as an extermination vector to eliminate black lives all right now I'm a food scientist I'm the author of food forensics it achieved the number one best-selling science book on amazon.com I'm the co-author of science papers that have been published in mainstream science journals I'm not just a casual layperson when it comes to food science I run a mass spec laboratory that's ISO accredited validated audited inspected passed many many tests our data can be used in a court of law anywhere around the world we do food analysis we can search for complex molecules such as pesticides or elements such as mercury or cadmium so I run the lab I am the lab science director I know a thing or two about food science now what they have invented when I say they I'm talking about the genetic engineers not only have they found a way to put these genetically engineered traits into food crops they've now found a way to cause food crops to grow RNA fragments that can be specifically targeted like bio weapons to interfere with physiological processes of targeted species that might eat the food now this technology is called RNA interference technology it's relatively new compared to GMOs relatively new it's being touted now as a technology to eliminate the use of pesticides because what they're saying is they can cause a corn crop to grow RNA fragments that will kill the insects that eat the corn without having to use pesticides like toxic chemicals that overload the insect nervous system and kill it from a nervous system breakdown and so on this RNA interference technology is a pesticide technology but it doesn't rely on pesticide chemicals it relies on RNA fragments in the food now what's disturbing about this is that this technology can be fine-tuned to target a specific race of humans who eat the food I want you to follow me very carefully on this because most people have never heard of this before they've never heard of this technology they don't know it can be targeted by race food crops can be engineered right now based on existing technology to cause infertility in black people alone that technology is a reality it's actually it's widely covered out there in the mainstream media in the science media RNA interference technology widely covered and they openly talk about how it can be used to target specific physiological processes of certain insect species they can interfere with DNA repair or protein synthesis in insects they can interfere with fertility or reproduction they can interfere with mobility a nervous system interaction with the musculoskeletal system or depending on what animal we're talking about other systems endoskeleton systems I ask you does that technology exist the answer is yes it absolutely exists right now are they using that technology I asked you do a little bit of research look at the plummeting sperm production in black men sperm production is plummeting in black men sperm production is precisely the kind of physiological process that can be targeted by RNA interference technology now is that proof that the food crops are being engineered to cause sperm production to plummet and blackman no it's not proof but when you connect the dots of all the other things that are being done covertly this becomes something very likely in the realm of possibility it would take a lot of advanced testing to find this out and guess who controls the funding guess who controls nearly all the science funding in America today the federal government the same government that allows the CDC to cover up the truth about vaccines and black children the same government that funds Planned Parenthood abortions of black babies the same government that covers up the EPA induced contamination of waterways affecting Native Americans and other populations including the Flint Michigan predominantly black population this government same government that runs the FBI that one Martin Luther King jr. To commit suicide this is the same government the government is at war with you if you're if you're black and you're watching this the government is at war with you and they want you to exterminate it and they control the science funding which means there will never be money for any genetic science of the food supply to uncover this truth if it were there it would be covered up like everything else has been covered up this entire time just like the Tuskegee experiments covered things up in 1930s nothing has changed except the technology is more advanced the covert technology is more covert the number of vectors through which they can kill you and cause you to have no children cause you to have spontaneous abortions the number of vectors is increasing you are being targeted and like I said earlier to some extent we're all being targeted but black people are being targeted more than anyone else so what do we do with all this information what do we do and you did take to the streets and bash heads no doesn't it doesn't get anywhere the problem is the consolidation of power in the institutions of science and medicine the problem is that science has been taken over by globalist agendas and depopulation agendas and government funding the problem is that we don't have a decentralization of science the problem is if you will allow me to even invoke this terminology problem is that we are all slaves to science tyranny as it is being operated today we're all slaves we're living under a science dictatorship that refuses to tell us the truth and yet targets our brothers and sisters our children our grandchildren with extermination agendas through medicine through food like everything we've talked about that's the problem we need independent science we need decentralization we need more labs like my lab that I operate independently we don't take any government money that's why I can tell you this truth do you think if I were on the payroll of some big corporation that use government money do you think I could stand here and tell you this truth no way not a chance then we yank your funding so fast cover it up sweep it under the rug I can only stand here today because I have no financial ties to the system that's murdering all of you nor will I ever have financial ties to that system I refuse to take money from satanic forces I refuse to take money from murderous regimes and that's what that's what the United States government is today it is a murderous regime and it has been that way under President Obama President Bush you know it's beyond any single president has nothing to do with Trump it's the bureaucracy that the momentum of genocide that is endemic in the culture of the CDC and the culture of the FDA and the culture of the EPA that is beyond the reach of any one candidate or any one politician and it it has persisted for generations and it continues to persist and it will continue to target you and murder you and cause you disease and cause you brain damage and cause your children autism until the day comes that we that people decide to stand up and take back our Liberty from this murderous regime that commits murder and genocide in the name of science and medicine and that is what we must do I don't think it's a goal that can be achieved through violence and I don't call for violence because that is being afflicted against us in far too many ways it must start with awareness and so the only thing I ask of you watching this listening to this even if you don't believe every chapter of the talk here maybe you find some of them hard to believe so far only thing I ask of you is share this information share this video share this talk have a public viewing in a church maybe you've got a black church somewhere invite your congregation to watch this if you dare if you want to know the truth about this from up from a scientist an independent scientist who sees what's happening and refuses to be silent and refuses to be a to be exploited by the evil that exists in our world the murderous evil in the name of science stealing life away from black families and black mothers and pursuing a goal of global extermination through medicine and science it's it's we cannot stand for it we must change our future together and we're not going to do that by the way by fighting with each other over skin color or race do not let the system divide us because the system is actually murdering us but they're trying to keep us distracted in the meantime they want black and white to fight against each other in the streets don't they you better believe they do they want you to not trust each other because they are the murderers data system they're murdering us all to one extent or another but they want us to be too busy bashing each other over the head with with baseball bats to pay attention to the real murder that's taking place on the bigger scale the global scale of murder and genocide don't allow yourself to be distracted do not fall into the depths of racial hate for any inning anyone don't don't hate someone because of their skin color or their their background and religion sexual orientation anything understand that it's we the people versus the system of murder and genocide that the the scientific dictatorship that has in one way or another targeted us all so we the people must stand together unified regardless of our race unified with the the knowledge and awareness that we have a right to live and we have the right to have families and we have the right to know the truth and until that truth is acknowledged we cannot be free you can you can break physical chains from old slave plantation days and you can have physical freedom but now we have a new kind of enslavement we are all chemical slaves to the covert sterilization we are we are victims of these systems we all of us black and white all of us so spread the word share this video have the courage to tell the truth and I will continue to do so as well because because I answer to a higher power and I know that that one day I'm going to be judged for my actions for what I from what I said or what I didn't say if I covered something up which I refused to do we are going to be judged and I refuse to go through this life knowing this dark secret and not not sounding the alarm to those who need to know it the most that's all that matters to me that's why I'm doing this so I thank you for for listening and watching I thank you for your time share this message far and wide and continue to watch natural news.com where I will bring you more on this topic and similar topics in the years ahead I will continue to fight for humanity with every breath to my last day I will fight for humanity and that means black people and everyone everybody else we are not separate we are not at war with each other we are the establishment isn't war with us regardless of our color so understand that truth and thank you for your time take care Read the full article

Judge halts deportations as refugee ban causes worldwide furor
The Washington Post
A federal judge in New York blocked deportations nationwide late Saturday of those detained on entry to the United States after an executive order from President Trump targeted citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries.
Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn granted a request from the American Civil Liberties Union to stop the deportations after determining that the risk of injury to those detained by being returned to their home countries necessitated the decision.
Minutes after the judge’s ruling in New York, another came in Alexandria when U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema issued a temporary restraining order to block for seven days the removal of any green-card holders being detained at Dulles International Airport. Brinkema’s action also ordered that lawyers have access to those held there because of the ban.
Trump’s order reverberated across the world Saturday, making it increasingly clear that the measure he had promised during his presidential campaign was casting a wider net than even his opponents had feared.
Confusion and concern among immigrant advocates mounted throughout the day as travelers from the Middle East were detained at U.S. airports or sent home. A lawsuit filed on behalf of two Iraqi men challenged Trump’s executive action, which was signed Friday and initially cast as applying to refugees and migrants.
But as the day progressed, administration officials confirmed that the sweeping order also targeted U.S. legal residents from the named countries — green-card holders — who were abroad when it was signed. Also subject to being barred entry into the United States are dual nationals, or people born in one of the seven countries who hold passports even from U.S. allies, such as the United Kingdom.
The virtually unprecedented measures triggered harsh reactions from not only Democrats and others who typically advocate for immigrants but also key sectors of the U.S. business community. Leading technology companies recalled scores of overseas employees and sharply criticized the president. Legal experts forecast a wave of litigation over the order, calling it unconstitutional. Lawyers and advocates for immigrants are advising them to seek asylum in Canada.
Yet Trump, who centered his campaign in part on his vow to crack down on illegal immigrants and impose what became known as his “Muslim ban,’’ was unbowed. As White House officials insisted that the measure strengthens national security, the president stood squarely behind it.
“It’s not a Muslim ban, but we were totally prepared,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “You see it at the airports, you see it all over. It’s working out very nicely, and we’re going to have a very, very strict ban, and we’re going to have extreme vetting, which we should have had in this country for many years.”
In New York, Donnelly seemed to have little patience for the government’s arguments, which focused heavily on the fact that the two defendants named in the lawsuit had already been released.
Donnelly noted that those detained were suffering mostly from the bad fortune of traveling while the ban went into effect. “Our own government presumably approved their entry to the country,” she said at one point, noting that, had it been two days prior, those detained would have been granted admission without question.

Entry to the United States is being refused to legal residents, including green-card holders, from seven mostly Muslim countries who were abroad when the executive order was signed Friday by the president, and some travelers were detained at U.S. airports.
During the hearing, ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt informed the court that he had received word of a deportation to Syria, scheduled within the hour. That prompted Donnelly to ask if the government could assure that the person would not suffer irreparable harm. Receiving no such assurance, she granted the stay to the broad group included in the ACLU’s request.
A senior Department of Homeland Security official had no comment about the rulings late Saturday and said the department was consulting with its lawyers.
The official said enforcement of the president’s order on Saturday had created minimal disruption, given that only a small number of the several hundred thousand travelers arriving at U.S. airports daily had been affected.
Nationwide, he said, 109 people had been denied entry into the United States. All had been in transit when Trump signed the order, and some had already departed the United States on flights by late Saturday while others were still being detained awaiting flights. Also, 173 people had not been allowed to board U.S.-bound planes at foreign airports.
The official said that officers doing case-by-case reviews had granted 81 waivers so far to green-card holders.
DHS began implementing the president’s order immediately after he signed it, according to the official. He declined to say whether the department had an operational plan ready at that time.
In New York, when news of the decision to block the deportations reached the crowd outside the courthouse, a roar of approval went up. For some time after, hundreds of people chanted and danced along with a drum circle. “Get up! Get down! New York is an immigrant town,” the crowd said. The diverse group of mostly young people continued to grow despite the cold weather. “No hate! No bigotry! No Muslim registry.”
Jonah Baum, 11, was at the protest with his mother, Terri Gerstein, 48. Asked why he thought it was important to come, Baum said, “It's so bad what he's been doing to this country. I felt like I needed to do something about it.” Baum's grandfather was a Jewish refugee from Germany.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tweeted late Saturday, “I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are.”
Though several congressional Republicans denounced the order, the majority remained silent, and a few voiced crucial support — including, most prominently, House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), who had rejected Trump’s anti-Muslim proposals during the campaign. “This is not a religious test, and it is not a ban on people of any religion,’’ Ryan said Saturday. “This order does not affect the vast majority of Muslims in the world.”
The president’s order, signed Friday, suspends admission to the United States of all refugees for 120 days and bars for 90 days the entry of any citizen from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya and Somalia. That list excludes several majority-Muslim nations — notably Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia — where the Trump Organization, now run by the president’s adult sons, is active and which in some cases have also faced troublesome issues with terrorism.
According to the text of the order, the restriction applies to countries that have already been excluded from programs allowing people to travel to the United States without a visa because of terrorism concerns. Hewing closely to nations already named as terrorism concerns elsewhere in law might have allowed the White House to avoid angering powerful and wealthy majority-Muslim allies, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Amid widespread confusion on Saturday about how the order will be enforced, some administration officials acknowledged that its rollout had been chaotic. Officials tried to reassure travelers and their families, pointing out that green-card holders in the United States will not be affected and noting that the DHS is allowed to grant waivers to those individuals and others deemed to not pose a security threat. It can take years for someone to become a green-card holder, or lawful permanent resident authorized to permanently live and work in the country.
“If you’ve been living in the United States for 15 years and you own a business and your family is here, will you be granted a waiver? I’m assuming yes, but we are working that out,’’ said one official, who could not be more specific because details remained so cloudy. A senior White House official later said that waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and that green-card holders in the United States will have to meet with a consular officer before leaving the country.
But officials made clear that the federal officers detaining refugees and migrants with valid U.S. visas and restricting them from entering the country were following orders handed down by top DHS officials, at the White House’s behest.
The order drew outrage from a range of activist and advocates for Muslims, Arabs and immigrants. More than 4,000 academics from universities nationwide signed a statement of opposition and voiced concern the ban would become permanent. They described it as discriminatory and “inhumane, ineffective and un-American.”
The executive action has caused “complete chaos” and torn apart families, said Abed Ayoub, legal and policy director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.
At Dulles, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) addressed more than 100 people protesting Trump’s order. He said: “I remind everybody we are a land of immigrants … Discriminatory tactics breed hatred.’’
In New York, lawyers for two Iraqi men detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport — one of whom served the U.S. military mission in Iraq — filed a federal lawsuit challenging the order as unconstitutional.
[Read the complaint]
One of the men, Hameed Khalid Darweesh, was released Saturday afternoon without explanation from federal officials. “This is the humanity, this is the soul of America,’’ he told reporters. “This is what pushed me to move, to leave my country and come here … America is the land of freedom — the land of freedom, the land of the right.’’
Other advocates promised further legal challenges. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) denounced the order and said it would file a lawsuit challenging it as unconstitutional.
In a conference call with reporters, immigration lawyers and advocates said Trump’s order violated the Constitution, along with U.S. and international laws that guarantee migrants the right to apply for asylum at the border and the Immigration and Nationality Act, which forbids discrimination in the issuance of visas based on race, nationality, place of birth or place of residence.
But Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for lower immigration levels, praised Trump.
“It’s a prudent measure,” he said. “It’s not the end of the world. It’s not the Statue of Liberty crying. The reaction has been hyperbolic.”
At Dulles, shortly after 9 p.m., about 200 protesters continued to sing, chant and cheer international passengers as they arrived. They chanted "let them in" and sang, "This land is our land, this land is your land."
About three dozen volunteer lawyers gathered nearby in the international arrivals area. Cheers erupted as one of the lawyers announced that the ACLU had been granted a national stay in New York.
Dan Press, a Washington area bankruptcy lawyer volunteering at the airport, then announced Brinkema’s temporary restraining order that granted lawyers access to people being held at Dulles and prevented lawful permanent residents — people with green cards — from being removed.
“You guys get ready!” Press told the throng of lawyers. “Form teams to go back!”
By 9:45 p.m., the lawyers were still waiting to get down the long hallway guarded by three police officers that would take them to the area where a reported 50 to 60 people — mostly people from the seven countries who also have green cards — have been held since earlier this afternoon.
Hassan Ahmad, a Northern Virginia immigration lawyer, said he knew of a 71-year-old Iranian man with a green card who had been held at Dulles with his wife since they arrived at 3:45 p.m. on a flight from Tehran via Frankfurt. Ahmad said the man's family was worried because he had a heart condition, and they had been unable to reach him by cellphone.
Ahmad and his colleague, Humza Kazmi, said they consider their client to be detained.
“He's not free to go,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad said both airport police and Border Protection officers had refused to let them see their pro bono client.
Ahmad said another client — an Iraqi couple with two children — had been released at Dulles after 4 1/2 hours. The father had a green card under a program for Iraqi citizens who had assisted the U.S. military as translators. The man's wife and children also had green card as his dependents, he said.

The long fight toward equality in the U.S. is often recounted by listing banner acts of Congress and the Supreme Court. Every child learns about the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. But behind those bright headlines, another, less flashy battle for civil rights unfolds. In Executive Orders and court appointments and in the great, hulking machinery of the U.S. regulatory state, presidential administrations have outsize influence over how laws and federal programs are structured, implemented and enforced. While those administrative decisions often take effect without fanfare, they determine how public policy actually works. Who receives benefits and whether marginalized groups truly get equal protection under the law are shaped by the bureaucratic details of rulemaking and lower court injunctions.
For decades, these powerful levers of the federal administrative state have been used to keep people oppressed. Even as Black Americans were waging and winning battles in the civil rights movement during the 1950s and ’60s, federal rules prevented them from accessing the same benefits afforded white citizens. A Depression-era pair of federal programs designed to promote homeownership were implemented in a way that effectively excluded Black people from accessing loans. The postwar GI Bill followed a similar path: while lifting millions of white veterans into the middle class by helping them access college and buy homes, the way the law was implemented effectively prevented thousands of Black servicemen from obtaining the same.
Trump’s Administration has been characterized by a similar disconnect. Trump claims to have done more than anyone else for the Black community, citing a low Black unemployment rate prior to the COVID-19 recession and the First Step Act, a bipartisan bill reducing federal prison sentences. But behind the scenes, the Administration has quietly rolled back existing rules and issued new ones that have the effect of eliminating protections and opportunities for Black people, migrants, Native Americans, transgender people and other marginalized groups. Here are 12 examples.
Weakening shields for payday-loan recipients
When Candice Russell needed an unexpected medical procedure in 2014, she had no way to pay for it. She’d recently separated from her husband, and her wages as a Texas bartender weren’t cutting it. So she borrowed $450 from a payday lender. After a year and a half and two subsequent payday loans she had hoped would finally get her out of the red, she realized she was $10,000 in the hole. “Every time I got to a point where I thought I had gotten myself out of it, something would inevitably happen,” says Russell, now 37.
It’s a common experience for low-income Americans: a vicious cycle of using one payday loan to service another. Up to 12 million Americans take out payday loans each year, according to a 2016 fact sheet by Pew Charitable Trusts. The averages describe a borrower who is in debt for five months out of the year and spends $520 on fees to take out the same $375 loan over and over. Black Americans are especially vulnerable: because they are less likely to have stable credit, they are 105% more likely than other Americans to seek these loans, according to Pew.
The Obama-era Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a rule to protect these borrowers, requiring payday lenders to ensure people could repay loans before issuing advances. “I don’t think it’s brain surgery to say that if somebody is in trouble and then you give them a loan and charge them a 390% interest rate [they’ll] end up trapped in debt,” says former CFPB director Richard Cordray.
But the Trump Administration, backed by the loan industry, is trying to repeal the rule, arguing that payday lenders help Americans who need access to emergency cash. Cordray says the repeal will have the opposite effect. “This is one of the most glaring examples of how this Administration’s focus has been on protecting financial companies at the expense of consumers.”
Shutting transgender people out of housing
In May 2019, Trump’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proposed a new rule allowing federally funded single-sex and sex-segregated homeless shelters to deny entry to transgender people on the basis of privacy, safety, practical concerns or religious beliefs. The proposal weakens an Obama-era requirement that shelters accommodate trans individuals. Shelters could also use the Trump rule, which has not yet been finalized, to require trans women to share bathrooms and sleeping quarters with men.
LGBTQ advocates say the impact would be profound: roughly one-fifth of transgender Americans have experienced homelessness, according to the National Center for Transgender Equality. Black trans women are particularly at risk of violence, especially when living on the streets, says Kayla Gore, a Black trans woman and an organizer at the Transgender Law Center.
In 2019, at least 19 Black transgender women were violently killed, according to the Human Rights Center. Gore, who has been homeless and was stabbed in 2013, says HUD’s proposal is not one to overlook. “[It] sends a message to people who have ill will toward us that we’re not protected [and] that our lives hold no value,” she says.
Working to block access to birth control
Contraceptives treat medical issues like ovarian cysts and reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancies. Certain types, like IUDs, can cost as much as $1,300 to insert. In 2011, the Obama Administration issued guidance requiring insurers to cover contraception, but rules pushed by the Trump Administration would expand exemptions for employers who object on religious or moral grounds. If Trump prevails in an upcoming Supreme Court decision, more than 100,000 women could lose access to their birth control.
Constructing new barriers for migrants
Getting a green card is likely getting harder—especially for people from poor countries. In January, a divided Supreme Court gave the Trump Administration permission to enforce a new rule that gives U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers greater authority to deny certain green-card and visa applicants who have limited financial resources.
Since 1999, an individual who was “primarily dependent” on the government to sponsor their income or to pay for their institutionalized care has been considered a “public charge.” Federal officials would consider that dependency when deciding whether to allow them to live in the U.S. But the Trump Administration has made that rule even more stringent, expanding the definition of a public chargeto include applicants relying on combinations of certain benefits like Medicaid, food stamps or housing assistance for more than 12 months in a 36-month period, and even those whose circumstances suggest they may need aid in the future.
Many migrants who applied for green cards after Feb. 24, 2020, will be scored on their English, educational attainment, health and income. Factors like medical conditions could be weighed negatively against an applicant, while an income of at least 250% of the poverty line would be weighed in a household’s favor. Refugees and asylum seekers would not be subject to the guidelines, but confusion surrounding the rule change has led some migrants to shun government services altogether. Experts say this may have resulted in immigrants’ going without necessary COVID-19 treatment.
The policy change seems to give broad new discretionary powers to immigration officers over who does and who does not get to lawfully live in America. It’s too soon to tell how many migrants will be denied green cards as a result of these new criteria, but the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) projects the rule will have an outsize effect on those from poor countries with predominantly Latino populations. While just 27% of recent green-card holders from Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand would have had two or more negative factors, 60% of recent green-card holders from Central America and Mexico would have as many. “I would assume, based on what I’ve observed and heard under [Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Ken] Cuccinelli, that USCIS would take a hard line on this and that the adjudicators would be issued instructions to deny based on public charge tests wherever possible,” says Randy Capps, MPI’s director of research for U.S. programs.
Poor migrants who applied for green cards after February are waiting with bated breath—and hoping that he’s wrong.
Limiting access to food stamps
In the midst of a pandemic that has so far claimed 120,000 American lives and 45 million American jobs, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is doubling down on an effort to implement a rule change that would kick 688,000 people off the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), better known as food stamps.
Since 1996, SNAP has limited most able-bodied adults without dependents to three months of food stamps within a three-year period unless they have a job or are in a work-training program. But for areas experiencing high joblessness, there’s long been a workaround: states can grant regional waivers exempting people from the work rule. Over the past 22 years, every state except Delaware has used these waivers to keep residents fed. But in December, the Trump Administration finalized stricter criteria for waivers, requiring that a region’s average unemployment rate be at least 6% for the previous 24 months, and at least 20% above the nation’s average, to qualify.
Citing COVID-19, a judge blocked the change, but the USDA appealed in May. If the USDA prevails, the stricter rules wouldn’t start until the public-health emergency ends—but that could be long before the economy rebounds. “If they had any decency or compassion,” Ohio Representative Marcia Fudge said at the time, “they would abandon this appeal immediately.”
Pushing to reduce access to future benefits
The federal poverty line for a family of four is $26,200, but in 2019, Trump’s Office of Management and Budget issued a notice that it was considering changing how inflation calculates into the measure. One suggested change would slow the growth of the federal poverty line over time, stripping millions of low-income Americans, including seniors and people with disabilities, of benefits like Medicaid and prescription-drug funds over 10 years, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
Aaron Borton—The New York Times/ReduxA Kentucky Medicaid recipient gets his blood drawn; his state had applied for a waiver to test new work requirements, but a newly elected Democratic governor rescinded the plan
Trying to tie access to basic health care to work
Styna Lane suffers from chronic illnesses that leave her susceptible to joint dislocations, fainting spells and anaphylactic reactions. The 29-year-old from Ohio requires a chest port and relies on Medicaid to cover her prescriptions and treatments, which total more than $4,000 a month. But starting next year, she could lose her Medicaid coverage.
The Trump Administration invited states to apply for waivers that allow them to tie coverage to work requirements, and over a dozen, including Ohio, have done so. Though people with disabilities should be exempt, some who suffer from chronic illness are in a gray area. “I know people will combat it with ‘Well, if you’re genuinely that ill, you’ll have no problem getting the exemption.’ But that’s just not how our system works,” says Lane, who was previously denied a disability exemption for food stamps. “Unfortunately, a lot of people slip through those cracks.”
The Administration says the work requirements will improve the health of recipients and help them “rise out of poverty and government dependence.” But research from the Kaiser Family Foundation suggests that most people on Medicaid who can work already do: 63% of Medicaid recipients ages 19 to 64 have jobs. An additional 12% are caretakers, 11% are disabled, and 7% are students. For the most part, those who fall outside those categories face significant barriers to getting work, such as lack of transportation, education or Internet access. Intent aside, Lane says, the message in making Medicaid conditional is crystal clear: “[It indicates] that I’m only worth as much as I could contribute in a standardized financial sort of way.”
From 2018 to 2020, courts have blocked the Medicaid work requirement in four states. Some courts have ruled that it defeats the primary legislative purpose of Medicaid, to provide health coverage to the poorest Americans.
Most states have put the work requirements on hold, pending the outcome of multiple court battles.
Shifting an additional burden to rape survivors
About 21% of women reported being sexually assaulted during college, according to a government-funded study of the 2014–15 school year. But this spring, even as COVID-19 shut down campuses, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos finalized regulations that may lead fewer survivors to report attackers to their schools. Under the updated rules governing Title IX, institutions have less legal liability for campus assault and harassment and will be required to allow both parties in a case to undergo cross-examinations at a live hearing.
Blocking trans troops from the military
With a trio of tweets in 2017, Trump declared he was rolling back an Obama-era policy that permitted transgender Americans to openly serve in the military. The Armed Forces “cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption,” Trump wrote.
But implementing the new policy turned out to be more complicated than posting it on social media. What ensued was a series of court orders that barred the change. The Administration pushed forward anyway and was granted approval from the Supreme Court to proceed on an interim basis. Now anyone who has medically transitioned or is currently transitioning is disqualified from enlisting. Individuals who are currently serving in the military but were diagnosed with gender dysphoria after April 2019 must serve in the sex they were assigned at birth, seek out a series of complex waivers or leave. (The policy exempts existing service members who transitioned before the rule went into effect.)
House Democrats have challenged the rule—as has public opinion: 71% of adults now support the right of openly transgender people to serve, according to Gallup.
Reducing Native Americans’ land
Since taking office, Trump has consistently sided with the oil and gas industry over environmental and Native American interests. In December 2017, he backed local Republican officials and cut the size of a Utah land monument by 85% to cultivate it for recreation. Multiple Indigenous tribes claim roots to the land. The same year, the President issued an Executive Order revoking a tribal advisory council’s power in decisions impacting part of the Bering Sea. “The message,” says Natalie Landreth of the Native American Rights Fund, “is that Native American priorities were not important.”
Deterring travelers from predominantly muslim countries
Judges blocked Trump’s first two efforts to enact broad travel restrictions on countries with large Muslim populations, ruling that the President’s moves likely violated federal immigration statutes. But in June 2018, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of Trump’s third attempt, allowing him to impose travel restrictions on individuals from seven countries, five of which have Muslim majorities.
Since then, the U.S. State Department has all but stopped issuing visas to people from Libya, Iran, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. (The ban also applies to North Koreans, who are mostly unable to travel to the U.S., and a handful of Venezuelan officials and their families.) The Trump Administration says the travel restrictions were necessary to secure America’s borders.
But critics say the move was designed to paint Muslims as uniquely threatening in a country where right-wing terrorists have been responsible for more deaths since the 9/11 attacks than jihadists. The new restrictions also affect the communal aspect of the Islamic faith, says Robert McCaw of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. “There are many inter-generational households that are disrupted when children cannot connect with grandparents, aunts and uncles,” he says. “And that is an attack on the family structure of Muslims in America.”
Obstructing access to abortion
While the U.S. awaits a Supreme Court decision, expected this summer, that will determine whether it was legal for Louisiana to impose severe restrictions on abortion providers, social conservatives already have something to celebrate. In February, a U.S. appeals court ruled in favor of a new Trump Administration regulation that forbids family-planning centers that receive federal funding to refer pregnant women for abortions. The funding program, called Title X, provides patients with affordable access to birth control, HIV tests and cancer screenings.
As a result of the policy change, scores of clinics have left Title X in protest. Critics argue the new rule imposes bureaucratic hurdles on patients who rely on the program, 22% of whom are Black and 33% of whom are Hispanic or Latino. “Your access to reproductive health care depends on your ZIP code, depends on your income and depends on a host of factors that are beyond your control,” says Gretchen Borchelt of the National Women’s Law Center. “The Trump Administration’s attacks are just making that worse.”

Did gov't use age limit as coverup to pass more deadly GMO bill?

Did gov't use age limit as coverup to pass more deadly GMO bill?
By: Bidi Halid
Amidst the age limit and land bill drama week, parliament hurriedly passed a bill more deadly and dangerous to society than even the land and age limit bills–the GMO bill.
Authorizing use of genetically modified organisms in a third world country like Ugandan is a direct murder to food production and throwing poor farmers out of the agriculture sector as everything will be commercialized.
Local farmers will either starve or automatically become workers on farms of the rich as they will not be able to buy farm inputs like seeds, fertilizers, pest controls and even labor. Passing the bill is the final death stroke to poor farmers
You Are Eating Poison! Here’s How To Identify GMO Tomatoes In 2 Easy Steps GMOs contain dangerous compounds or are grown under conditions which involve using pesticides, hormones or other additives which only destroy the taste of your fruits and veggies as well as…
It is surprising the level of destruction Museveni and NRM intends for this country, given the irreversible consequences of the bill seen from its being rushingly past by NRM MPs.
It can be argued that the land and age limit bills were coverups for this more deadly bill given that the later can be reversed but the GMO destruction is an irreversible cancer agent–MPs in a predominantly farming world should before passing such a bill have consulted farmers instead of binding them unaware.
In presenting and defending it to parliament Prof. Ogenga Latigo used hardened scientific language which am sure many MP’s didn’t understand as he technically did not answer the fundamental worries and questions of Ugandans about GMO’s
Latigo and NRM MPs who were paid to pass this self destruction bill and Ugandans take note of the following unrecoverable dungeon:
1 – The costs to poor.
Dont make food for profit, its for people
Can we poor Africans afford these seeds? Which we can not replant. But only to buy and worst of all from a white, profit motivated man, 1000s of kilometers away from home. And this for Season after Season, Year after Year.
What and how will a poor old man/woman from Agago, Kidera, Karamoja or Kiboga do, who does not sleep with 1000 Ugandan shilling for months? What if one buys the seeds and for two or 3 three seasons the weather is not good and everything dies in soil, like it always happens mostly in the north, where you come from?
Are you not setting a pace to turn our people into slaves? If they can fail to buy Paracetamol, to treat a headache, where do you expect them to raise money, at least twice a year, to buy seeds for planting? Unless you want them to leave and die as beggars. Like you treat them during elections with 500 shillings for a vote or a piece washing soap.
2 – The health and environmental concerns
There are continous allegation, that GMO foods may be respossible for health problems. The most talked about being cancer. And Ugandans have of late been awakened and are well aware of this problem, which is also worsened by luck of medication in this country.
Although, Latigo and his colleagues can be taken out of the country for state of the art medication, at the expense of the very poor. The good professor again did not talk about and or address himself to this concern
3 – Why is GMO being kicked out of Europe and the Americans?
Yet again, Latiga failed to address this. He simply tried to explain how he is highly educated and knowledgeable on this subject. But wait a minute, how highly educated and knowledgeable on this subject is Latigo, than the Europeans, Canadians, and Americans? Who are time and again presenting big and unanswered questions on this subject?
I refer Ugandans to lawsuits, in California and other states in America; Lawsuits in Australia and Canada about contamination, In the Paris France and European Courts. And all those by local farmers. Question can Uganda as a country, let a lone a poor Ugandan local farmer, afford such expensive court cases? In case we befall a serious problem as a result of this GMO.
In most of these countries, people and their farms are insured. If they buy bad seeds they can be compensated. The same is true, if one gets sick because of bad GMO foods, they are not only treated and treated well in good hospital, but they are also compensated. Unlike in Museveni and Latigo’s Uganda. But they are not taking chances. Why bring this to Uganda at this time? Given our level of corruption and health situation.
4 – GMO Contamination of Organic Farms
I also expected Latigo, to address himself to the issue of contamination of Organic Farms, but he was nowhere. It have been proven in a landmark case in both Canada and Australia, among other countries, that if one person grows GMO seeds, the farms and plants around are equally affected through cross pollination. Today, there is case in California and Australia, where farmers are suing for loss of between 70 to 100 % of their earning because GMO foods and contamination.
Which means, that even unwilling participants become victims of this GMO. And after a couple of seasons everyone around will be, by force, growing, having and eating GMO foods. This brings me to the question of “Patent Rights”
5 – Patents rights on these sends
Because these are and will always be industrial produced products, we hear and truly so, that they will be owned by individuals and or groups of individual. This means that in future, for one to grow the said seeds, one must have permission from the owner. I equally expected the good professor to clearly put that to rest. But kumbe wapi?
In this world, where we leave today, full of blackmail and hostage taking, how do you asure Ugandan and Africans that patent right owners, will not one day blackmail our people and hold them hostage, in order to get food on table.
6 – Why not talk Mechanisation of Agriculture?
Yes, I am not an authority on agriculture like Latigo, but I don’t agree with Prof. Ogenga Latigo and others, who continue to argue that, we need GMO to address famine and or lack of food in Uganda and Africa at large. This is purely wrong and GMO is not the solution, but rather a problem.
The solution lies in modernization and mechanization of agriculture. Ugandan land, like most of Africa, is still virgin and fertile. But expecting people in Agago still digging land for food and sell using a handheld hoe is just too much. In Uganda, like in most of Africa, there are more Mambas and tear gas vehicle than Tractors.
What the good professor and his likes should be doing, is to convince his fellow lawmakers and General Museveni, to reduce the number of Members of Parliament, RDCs, Presidential advisers Mamas and Teargas. And replace all that and the expenses which go with them to buying ” Tractors” and other farm equipments as a beginning.
7 – Marketing, Storage and Transportation
Latigo and I must have seen food rotting in one place of Uganda, yet in another places people are dying of hunger. We have seen mangoes rotting in Luwero, just a few kilometers from Kampala, Yet supermarkets in Kampala, are selling mangoes and other fruits from as far as South Africa. And funny enough, even selling fruits from desert countries in Middle East with no water. We see Trucks getting stark on bad roads with Matoke in Kiboga, yet there is no food in Kampala.
I, a few years ago, witnessed farmers crying with maize in Busoga and in Kiryandongo in Bunyoro, Some selling it at a throw way price of just 50 to 100 a kilo. Unable even to get 20% of the planting costs back. In this particular season, the beneficiary was a member of the first family, who used free government transport, free storage in Nalukolongo, Kampala and sold the same at more than 15 times. Hence to ripping from the very poor man’s sweat.
This, left many farmers crying and vowing never to plant more than their domestic needs. And this is the same story across Africa, and having had the opportunity to visit most African countries, save for western African, I speak with authority on this.
In this conundrum, farmers end up losing whatever they have mortgaged in Banks including land and houses. Which can never be in Europe and else where. In otherwards, a government can’t tell you to plant something and fail to find a market it, store and or tramport it. Like it has been the in Uganda year in year out. For this, at least credit must go to past leaders Amin Dada and Obote, the two, at least tried to address the problems of storage, marketing and transport.
What I am saying is, that with good and organised marketing, storage and transportation, there can never be famine in Uganda. But because of corruption, greedy and ready made food AID from international organisations and countries, some people have made it a job and are always there to raise false flags.
Yes, Prof. Ogenga Latigo, claims that he can never be bribed by any international organisation behind this bill. Well maybe, but history is not on his side. First the parliament where he sits is on record as one of the most corrupt. Many were given just over 1000 dollars to rape and destroy the Ugandan constitution.
Latigo says that, “more importantly, he saw the potential of Molecular Biology as long ago as the late-1980s when I was winding up his PhD studies at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Nairobi”.
True, I had rear privilege to visit and be taken around (ICIPE) by my friends, a Kenyan, an Ethiopian and a Uganda, who is now a lecture in the same subject in a top University in America. If Latigo was fair enough to us, he would have told us the people and institutions behind this research centre and their interests. I know, and the good professor knows it, that the biggest funders are not Africans and their have interests.
I have also had chances to attend a couple of farmers dialogue conferences in Europe and Asia, where the biggest topic has always been how to feed the world, but GMO has never been paraded as the top solution. This also gave the opportunity to interact with people from across the world, including Europeans and Americans, but those people really detest and hate GMO food. Question is where will Uganda sale GMO products then?
I request Latigo and Ugandan MPs to look Ugandans in the eyes and address their utmost questions

Glyphosate labels to exchange, Fitness Canada pronounces
Health Canada says the capability danger to human Health and the environment from insecticides containing glyphosate are proper if used as directed in updated labels.
The regulator posted its re-evaluation on glyphosate, an herbicide sold under brand names which include Roundup and Vision, on Friday.
The choice follows a preferred evaluation to check registered insecticides meet modern Health and environmental protection requirements.
Health Canada said glyphosate continues to be an essential herbicide in Canadian agriculture and is the most broadly used herbicide inside the united states. The Bee Pollen Ban in Canada Proper now you’re wondering what this title is all approximately, however truly it says it all. Bee pollen becomes banned in Canada, and no longer just that but many useful dietary supplements were banned in conjunction with it.
Why are those natural dietary supplements banned together with pollen? Health Canada had their say whilst it came to natural supplements, and oddly those they chose are the maximum vital for extreme problems like high LDL cholesterol, high blood pressure, tension, and the strengthening of the immune machine.
those supplements are considered secure, no matter the talk over the benefits of the usage of bee pollen. Canada has high and steeply-priced earmarks on those natural Health products, making it almost not possible for everybody to manufacture them at a reasonable rate. The purpose that these dietary supplements have been labeled as Drugs became so that they could be carried in Canada under the label of prescribed drugs despite the fact that they had been still named natural healthcare products.
Many of these have been being imported from Canada, and due to this difficulty, more than 20,000 objects have been banned.
Initially, the objects weren’t all that steeply-priced however now they may be due to the fact Canada expanded the cost of no longer simplest the manufacturing of these supplements however the trying out as well.
This position changed into that of Fitness Canada, the device which mandates how the healthcare is administered in Canada.
It is believed that this was performed if you want to get Canadians used to the idea of Codex Alimentarius, to be able to control honest trade practices concerning meals and Pills like medicinal drugs and dietary supplements like pollen.
Canada needs to take notice that those supplements in their uncooked shape are on the purest that they may get, except someone infected them.
The Codex Alimentarius
The idea of the Codex Alimentarius turned into to position standards onto international meals alternate and supplementation, to shield the Canadians from fraud and unfair practices regarding meals and meals exchange.
The irony of this is that none of those supplements has ever been taken into consideration to be dangerous or have ill facet consequences on folks that use them.
There is plenty of research to help the use and advantages of all of those dietary supplements, especially bee pollen. Canada, unfortunately, could as a substitute use poisonous Capsules than starting with the natural.
Environmental Racism in Canada: Water Fine Crises for First International locations Human beings Environmental racism is a subgroup of environmental justice, or “the truthful remedy and meaningful involvement of every person irrespective of race, color, country wide beginning, or earnings with recognize to the improvement, implementation, and enforcement of environmental legal guidelines, policies, and policies” (“What’s Environmental Justice?”). It calls for an entire loss of discrimination in environmental law in preference to an enforced equality. In terms of this, environmental racism can best be abolished if There is a loss of discrimination based totally on race in the exposure of populations to dangerous pollutants. If there were a deliberate equity of publicity, it would no longer be any better. It is handiest through a whole absence of the consideration of race that it could be fixed. In this essay, I can deal with the presence of ER in Canada and explain the consequences of it. I can then attention more narrowly on a specific group to demonstrate the implications of ER and then compare it to ER in the U.S.A.
The study of environmental racism (ER) has been active in the United states of America since it turned into first added by way of Dr. Benjamin Chavis in 1982. Dr. Chavis turned into an assistant to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And become hence inspired to paintings at the civil rights motion. He defines ER as “racial discrimination in environmental policy making that consequences within the planned and disproportionate publicity of racial and ethnic minorities to toxic and unsafe environmental conditions” (Chavis). within the United states of America, the racial corporations maximum stricken by ER are African People and Hispanics; if implemented to Canada, First Nations are predominantly affected.
The result of Lots of these disruptions is water contamination. Water High-quality crises have affected a few First International locations communities for over a decade. As of 28 February 2014, there had been ninety-two First International locations communities below a drinking water advisory in Canada (Health Canada). these advisories are because of pollutants within the water, bacterial infection, or algae growths; they range from a caution to an entire “do not consume” mandate.
alas, due to the remote nature of maximum First Nations groups, the water advisories are much less possibly to be addressed than in more populous areas. in the case of Walkertown, Ontario (a predominantly white municipality), an E. Coli contamination in 2000 led to “an exceedingly publicized and formal public inquiry [which] ended in new provincial drinking water legislation and new investments in water treatment generation” (Patrick 386). Contrastingly, Neskantanga First Country in Northern Ontario has been on a boil water advisory because 1995 (Vowel). The duration of most First Countries water advisories regularly remaining longer than 12 months (Health Canada), which may be very disruptive if that advisory became “do no longer devour,” which it every now and then is. The reality is, First International locations communities find themselves with low water Great due to many factors. occasionally, It’s far just the water’s herbal microorganism tiers that reason those advisories, and other times It is at once because of contamination in the place from pollutants. Either manner, the Canadian authorities is an awful lot faster to analyze water Best in municipalities that are not First Countries and is much less in all likelihood to spend money on new water remedy flowers in those communities.
Kashechewan is a primary Nations Community in Northern Ontario, positioned on James Bay coast of the Hudson Bay. In 2005, that they had a water-Pleasant crisis that caused over 800 of the Network’s citizens being evacuated. This crisis was because of an E. Coli contamination within the water, which was in turn caused by the failure of a chlorine pump of their subpar water remedy plant. In place of receiving funding for a brand new plant, the bothered Community-acquired an advice from the federal authorities: to transport their complete town to the close by the metropolis of Timmins, which has higher-Best schools, hospitals, and water (Curry). This proposal in itself demonstrated the lack of expertise the federal government has for the importance of land in First Nations way of life.

The 45th president of the United States is Donald Trump, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at this picture.
On Monday, Trump’s prodigal daughter, Ivanka, sparked massive controversy after posting a photograph of herself seated at the historic desk in the Oval Office to her social media platforms.
As you know, this coveted spot is usually reserved for, well, the president.

Ivanka shared the photograph of herself seated in her father’s chair with Trump and Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, standing beside her to Twitter, with the caption, “A great discussion with two world leaders about the importance of women having a seat at the table!”

Upon seeing the unconventional photograph, people began to angrily call the 35-year-old’s authority into question. Many saw the pose as a disrespectful abuse of power, and reminded Ivanka that despite her heavy involvement with her father’s administration, she is not the president.

Others, however, were far too distracted by Ivanka’s caption, and began to question whether or not the businesswoman was referencing Solange‘s 2016 album, entitled, A Seat At The Table.

Though many were upset over the caption and the fact that Ivanka was seated in a chair designated for the leader of the United States, others saw the photo as an appropriate response to Monday’s White House agenda, which focused partly on female entrepreneurship and empowerment.

Prior to posting the photograph, Trump and Trudeau took time to meet with female business executives (including Ivanka) from both the U.S. and Canada to discuss the future of women advancements in the business world. So Ivanka was likely attempting to make a statement about empowering women by literally taking “a seat at the table.”

Even so, the photograph is simply the latest source of controversy surrounding the First Daughter.
Ivanka has been making headlines for weeks after clothing stores around the country, such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, took a stand by pulling her brand from their shelves.
She also received serious backlash for tweeting a poorly timed photograph of herself and husband/presidential advisor Jared Kushner dressed for a black tie event right after her father signed an executive order banning seven predominantly Muslim nations from the U.S.

Why Donald Trump and Australia are all tensed up
Weekends seems to be the most turbulent for President Donald Trump, and while his immigration ‘ban’ was unfolding, another storm was brewing on his phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
If it had been China, it would be understandable (obviously Russia would never happen with that Trump / Putin bromance), but Australia? That’s the last country you’d think there would be issues with besides Canada. America has worked with Australia for over a century so what happened? What made Trump accuse Australia of trying to export the “next Boston bombers,” under a refugee resettlement deal?

After all the mess created last weekend with refugees, a picture starts to form and make sense, at least through Trump’s eyes.
With that one tweet, Trump caused plenty of worry among both Republican and Democratic parties, even getting John McCain to act as peacemaker.
“I asked Ambassador Hockey to convey to the people of Australia that their American brothers and sisters value our historic alliance, honor the sacrifice of the Australians who have served and are serving by our side, and remain committed to the safer, freer and better world that Australia does far more than its fair share to protect and promote,” McCain said in a statement.
“On the Fourth of July, 1918, American and Australian soldiers fought side-by-side at the Battle of Hamel. In the century that followed, our two nations struggled and sacrificed together in World War I and World War II, Korea and Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. Those of us who took part in the conflict remember well the service of more than 50,000 Australians in the Vietnam War, including more than 500 that gave their lives.
“Today, Australia is hosting increased deployments of U.S. aircraft, more regular port visits by U.S. warships and critical training for U.S. Marines at Robertson Barracks in Darwin. This deepening cooperation is a reminder that from maintaining security and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region to combating radical Islamist terrorism, the U.S.-Australia relationship is more important than ever.
“In short, Australia is one of America’s oldest friends and staunchest allies. We are united by ties of family and friendship, mutual interests and common values, and shared sacrifice in wartime.”
The call between Trump and Turnbull came at the end of a day of widespread protests and confusion over Trump ‘s order for a 120-day halt of the U.S. refugee program and a 90-day suspension on visits from people from seven predominantly Muslim countries.
Many of the people being held in the Australia n detention centers, which have drawn harsh criticism from the United Nations and human rights groups, fled violence in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran.
White House spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump was “unbelievably disappointed” and “extremely, extremely upset” with the deal, but said it would go ahead.
Spicer said all refugees presented to the United States would be subject to “extreme vetting” to ensure they do not pose security risks.
Turnbull told reporters he was surprised and disappointed that details of the call with Trump had been leaked but gave few particulars other than to deny reports Trump had hung up on him.
“As far as the call is concerned, the report that the president hung up is not correct. The call ended courteously. And as far as the nature of the discussion, it was very frank and forthright,” he told a Sydney radio station on Thursday.
Australia n Ambassador to the U.S. Joe Hockey had a “productive meeting” with White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and top strategist Steve Bannon on Thursday, a White House official said, adding the men had conveyed Trump ‘s “deep admiration for the Australia n people” during the meeting.
Political analysts said the acrimony between the two countries was unprecedented, surpassing even the difficult relations between former U.S. President Richard Nixon and then- Australia n Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, who withdrew the country’s troops during the Vietnam War.
“Even that was always done in the language of foreign policy niceties,” said Harry Phillips, a political analyst of 40 years experience at Edith Cowan and Curtin universities in Perth.
Amid the drama over a refugee resettlement deal between Australia and the United States, the White House has issued a series of conflicting statements on whether the agreement is still on, how many refugees it involves, and who, exactly, are the refugees. A look at what’s at stake:
AUSTRALIA DOESN’T WANT BOAT REFUGEES
Under the Obama administration, the U.S. agreed to resettle a group of refugees who are being held at detention camps on the impoverished Pacific island nations of Nauru and Papua New Guinea. The Australian government pays both countries to house the refugees because it refuses to settle any of them in Australia. That has resulted in many of them languishing inside the detention facilities for years. The conditions at the camps are grim, and reports of detainees suffering abuse and attempting suicide are frequent.
UNCLEAR HOW MANY ARE GENUINE REFUGEES
President Donald Trump has repeatedly described the refugees as “illegal immigrants” and said in a tweet that there are “thousands” of them. The refugees are, in fact, among around 1,250 asylum seekers who were transferred to the island detention centers after being intercepted while trying to reach Australia by boat. Another 370 who came to Australia for medical treatment and then refused to return to the islands are also eligible for resettlement to the United States. Australia will not say how many of the asylum seekers have been deemed genuine refugees, and thus it’s unclear exactly how many refugees the U.S. agreed to ultimately accept. Most of the asylum seekers come from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Australia’s previous center-left government called them “irregular maritime arrivals,” because a refugee can legally seek asylum in a country such as Australia that is a signatory to the United Nations Refugee Convention – which calls on nations to take in people fleeing war. The current conservative government changed the terminology to “illegal maritime arrivals,” presumably because people smuggling is illegal and most pay people smugglers to ferry them to Australia.
THEIR PREFERRED DESTINATION IS AUSTRALIA
Asylum seekers who attempt to reach Australia by boat generally travel to Indonesia, where people smugglers jam them into overcrowded, barely seaworthy vessels that then head south to Australia. In 2013, Australia imposed tough policies toward asylum seekers in a bid to discourage the dangerous and often deadly journeys. Under the strict rules, any asylum seeker who tries to reach Australia by boat can never be settled in Australia, and is instead sent to the detention camps on Nauru and Papua New Guinea where their refugee claims are assessed. Prior to the U.S. deal, the only option given to those deemed genuine refugees was for them to resettle in Papua New Guinea or Cambodia. Few refugees have accepted those offers, opting instead to remain in detention in the hopes that Australia will eventually take them in.
CONTRADICTING STATEMENTS
Over the weekend, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Trump had a tense telephone call in which they discussed the agreement. On Monday, Turnbull told Australians that Trump had vowed during the call to honor the deal. But a report from The Washington Post that subsequently emerged suggested the agreement might be in doubt. The newspaper reported that during the call, Trump ranted to Turnbull that it was “the worst deal ever.” Shortly after that report was published, Trump took to Twitter to slam the agreement as “dumb” and said he would review it. Meanwhile, the State Department offered reassurance that the agreement would, in fact, stand – “out of respect for close ties to our Australian ally and friend.” White House spokesman Sean Spicer also confirmed that Trump had agreed to honor the deal, though he said all the refugees would be subjected to “extreme vetting.” Later, Trump told reporters that he has to “respect” actions of the previous administration, yet quickly added: “But you can also say, ‘Why are we doing this?'” Spicer then gave another press conference in which he said that Trump was “unbelievably disappointed” in the agreement and had “agreed to continue to review that deal.”
