Just reread mission 90 and only now noticed this panel
Tumblr media
And it's seems just funny when you first go through the chapter without even paying attention to this, but then you stop and think and it become even more funny.
I mean, for Yor it isn't something important, like, yeah, they were shooting at us, another normal day, she doesn't really think it maybe something you should be concerned about.
And Anya? I think you can see her face and understand that she is totally okay with this too.
And I like to imagine that they return home, start doing their normal things and then Anya is just describing her day to her father and randomly mentioning like, "oh and, by the way, we almost got shot". Twilight thinks it's just Anya with her fantasies, but then Yor is regularly confirming this, like it's nothing special, because she has no idea how normal people live their lives
So Twilight will just spend his next two hours rereading some books and trying to understand is it normal that his wife and his daughter consider shooting as a usual thing and, finally, coming to conclusion that Yor is just very brave and strong and Anya is just Anya

I put rooftop run over Yor's parkour scene because my sister and I were joking about it earlier today. Please enjoy what will likely be my one and only contribution to this fandom o7

I just saw the Spy x Family movie and I don't know if people have already mentioned this but when Loid's trying to land he declares himself as plane 0988. In Japanese this could be read as オクハハ (okuhaha) which in turn could be read as 奥母, or "wife and mother." Apparently he's still thinking about his talk with Yor!

Something about how Yor misses a lot of social nuance yet she manages to see aspects of Twilight that he's tried to bury completely

In canon universe vignette where Loid has to go undercover at a government party for Spy Reasons. His assignment asks him to look like a non specific who is supposed to be unassuming while at the same time being beautiful, mysterious and unexpectedly charming.
Only he's distracted while he's preparing, family life/Operation strix keeping him busy, so he's just kind of putting together his disguise by muscle memory, so he doesn't realise until he's freshening up on the bathroom at the event that he managed to create a look that is eerily similar to Yor, like "could be her long lost sister"- similar
So while he's agonising about how this could have happened (mhmmm let's take a GUESS loid) he realises that this is not going to stay a private embarrassment because Yuri is at the party and he keeps sending him longing, smitten looks and oh god he's coming right here stay in character Twilight

thinking about how Franky knows Loid's marriage to Yor is a ruse (both for the real Operation Strix version and the fake get-into-Eden version), but Yor doesn't know that he knows. he's the only person Yor has met who knows it's actually just a marriage of convenience, and consequentially who knows that she isn't really in love with him (supposedly anyway heheheh), so theoretically he'd be the guy Yor can turn to if she wants to talk about how she actually is falling for her husband and that's weird and confusing, because Franky is already fully aware that she wasn't already in love with him. except she doesn't know that he knows, so she can't do that. makes me wonder if she'll find out before Loid gets outed as a spy and it becomes a moot point.

So I don't think either Loid or Yor would give Damian the shovel talk, but that doesn't mean that he's not getting one.
When the day comes, Becky will march up to him and very sweetly, very calmly, straight up tell him that she'll rip off his head if he hurts Anya.

If Twilights’s dad is a spy Then is he working for Westalis or Ostania?
Hey Anon and sorry for the delay! :3
Hmm, first of all, I don’t think his allegiance would be what matters the most, when in case this plot twist happens.
To recap a bit on the theory that Twilight's dad is still alive and a spy (first draft here), I think that, narratively speaking, the interest lies in:
Twilight's entire childhood, nay, life was based on a lie
A lie he's currently exactly reproducing by pretending to be Anya's dad (except that, unlike him, Anya knows her dad's a spy on a mission), which is why it'll need to be addressed by the plot eventually.
Additionally, and considering that this trauma from his childhood turned him into everything he didn’t want to be, I'd say facing this terrible truth (for once) is how he's going to come to the realization that he can't do to Yor and Anya what his dad did to him and his mom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Otherwise, you know, "he's really just like his dad", a dad who possibly caused a terrorist attack or, at the very least, who took advantage of one to leave his wife and kid behind.
All "for his mission".
Twilight being recruited as a spy might be related to WISE knowing his dad is a spy
In that case, if his dad is also a spy working for Westalis, then WISE recruited Twilight because they bet he shares the same skills as his dad.
However, if his dad is a spy working for Ostania, then WISE recruited him for the same reason, except it was to use him as possible leverage/weapon against his own dad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Either way, if WISE knew about Twilight's dad being a spy, then WISE will be held accountable for manipulating Twilight with lies. So I think, by the end of the story, Twilight will also come to realize this truth, because it's the only way to untangle the web of lies that now represents his life.
Also, Twilight realizing that WISE used him from the start would match with Yor being indoctrinated since childhood by the organization she also currently sides with.
And, while I have no doubt that eventually their family will prevail over old allegiances, I believe it will only be possible if both Twilight and Yor face the truth that they were totally used as pawns by the organizations they believed in, in order to free themselves from them.
Tumblr media
To finally answer your question (sorry for rambling): thematically since Twilight is Westalis' "greatest spy/asset", tbh it's likely that his dad is the Ostanian equivalent.
As for who he is, I'd say someone currently working for the SSS, which is how Twilight risks being discovered by them (if Garden doesn't sell him out first, for being Yor's fishy husband being interested in Donovan Desmond).
And considering the fact he must be an older man, with a light hair color, visible cheek bones and a slim nose, well, we don't have a lot of possible suspects in the cast...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Especially since, interestingly, the job of Yuri and his captain is to catch spies.
Lastly, if Yuri's captain is Twilight's spy dad, then he must have gotten that scar after leaving his wife and kid behind, say, maybe during that very same explosion/terrorist attack that happened in their hometown?
TL;DR my money is on Yuri's captain being Twilight's spy dad, because this has high comedic value, when we know how much Yuri dislikes Loid while his dad mentors him on the job. Though it's also quite ironically devastating considering that, in that case, Twilight literally impersonated his dad in ch14 when investigating Yor...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...implying he's slowly becoming exactly like his dad, a man he will despise once he finds out the truth. ://
Sorry for rambling, I hope it answers your question ! Have a good day ahead, Anon.

Random thought - six is technically old enough to start learning how to cook. If you look up things that a six year old can cook (mostly with adult supervision) things like pasta and pancakes show up, and if the internet is to be believed some of those things can actually be made by kids younger than six. If it weren't for the fact that Loid seems to expect Anya to learn things as quickly as a child prodigy (if not faster than a child prodigy in some cases...), and the fact that Anya is almost certainly younger than six, I could see her surpassing poor Yor as a cook with a little instruction from Loid.
Then again, if Loid sat Anya down to try and teach Anya some basic cooking skills I could see Yor potentially joining in and getting better at cooking as a result.
Okay, maybe I just want to see the Forgers cooking together in the series proper instead of just in things like the OP/ED and brief flashbacks. I think it could be really sweet, wholesome, and/or funny so can you blame me?

The thing with change is that it takes us long to realize it's happened.
Like, drastic changes can have drastic effects, sure.
But you don't immediately realize just how different things are.
And then suddenly one day you're sitting there and you realize, "I'm so much different than the me of a few months ago. I can barely recognize the me of years ago."
Either from a positive or a negative change, your view of yourself or the world can change, either for the better, or for the worse. For the former, you feel new, and light, and strong. For the latter, you feel grief, and despair, for what you've lost.
And I don't know, I feel like that's something we need to acknowledge a little more - how the deepest effects of a change are seen on the long term, and done so quietly and subtly that we're absolutely shocked when we realize how separated our past selves can be from our present ones.

I don't know why I was thinking about this but I got wondering about those silly little fandom things like what kind of dog would represent certain characters for Spy x Family, and like...
Loid and Anya are kind of obvious. Anya's something small and cute with stubby legs, like a chihuahua or a dachshund. Maybe a pomeranian. And Loid is one of those working dogs who can be highly trained but are also incredibly protective, like a German shepherd or a malinois.
But Yor...
If Yor and, by extension, Yuri are anything other than "husky/shepherd mixes" that were found abandoned on the side of the road by a well-meaning yet clueless individual who didn't know enough about dogs to realize they accidentally domesticated two wolf pups... Then I don't know what we're doing here
