It’s so important to have friends who share your interests… like I have a friend named Kitty, and she likes musical theatre and I like musical theatre, and she loves Taylor Swift and I love Taylor Swift, and she’s in law school and I’ve played way too much Phoenix Wright. We’re like the same person.

Sailor Moon in 90s Australia
Since the news about Saban Moon broke again with the new documentary about it (here’s a post about it with youtube link: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/luna-whiskers/693308308231159808?source=share) I got interested in my own ‘lost’ Sailor Moon experience.
I lived in Australia until I was nine, and the first tv show (not just anime) which I ever watched was Sailor Moon. I vaguely remembered that it was part of a long tv segment which included actors who would sometimes cosplay as Sailor Moon characters, and wanted to find some more information about it. It is not as obscure as Saban Moon, fortunately, and I did! For anyone else who is interested in the Aussie history of Sailor Moon, here’s what I’ve found so far.
https://www.moonkitty.net/aussie.php
Moon Kitty has a page about Sailor Moon in Australia, though their air date of 1994 is not accurate; the DiC dub of season 1 was only recorded in 1995:
Tumblr media
This screenshot is taken from a 1996 episode of Agro’s Cartoon Connection, which is where Sailor Moon ran in Australia in the 90s. You can see this episode here on The Internet Archive, many thanks to the person who uploaded it:
https://archive.org/details/agros-cartoon-connection-the-book-place-partial-btq-7-1996
There’s no date beyond ‘96 listed, but the Sailor Moon episode which airs is episode 18 by the DiC dub count: ‘Worth a Princess’s Ransom’. This episode first aired September 22, 1995 in the US during Sailor Moon’s first run, according to Wikipedia. I’ve never been able to find a definitive date for when Sailor Moon first started airing in Australia, but based on this it must have either been early ‘96 or late ‘95. As the screencap before shows, it’s not possible for Moon Kitty’s date of ‘94 to be possible, since DiC only dubbed season 1 in ‘95.
This Agro’s episode features an entire Sailor Moon episode, as said, starting at 31:06. Another neat tidbit can be found a few times in this segment, an ad for Sailor Moon dolls! One repeat of the ad is at 22:10. I actually had some of these dolls as a kid!
Tumblr media
Finally, I found some of the cosplay segments from Agro’s Cartoon Connection on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSrtIrVCm64
Tumblr media
These are from a ‘Sailor Moon Week’ they did in ‘97, but I do recall that this was not the only time the cast cosplayed as Sailor Moon characters.
I can’t say for sure when I first started watching Sailor Moon, but now I know that it could have been as early as when I was five (my age during ‘96). It’s pretty incredible to get confirmation of just how long I’ve been into Sailor Moon; pretty much my whole life!
Actually, in the middle of writing this my parents called and I asked my mum about it, and got a bit more dating done. My school had a Halloween party in year 1, 1996 (I did not remember which year it was, only that it happened) and I was desperate to dress up as Sailor Moon for it. My poor mum drove all over Melbourne trying to find a costume for me and finally managed it (thanks and sorry, Mum!). So by that point I had already been obsessed with Sailor Moon for ages, ergo I did in fact start watching Sailor Moon at the age of 5 (I also still have my year 1 Japanese schoolbooks from back then, yes, my school taught Japanese back in the 90s). Incredible!
Sailor Moon ran pretty consistently in Oz all the way up until we moved to Canada in 2000, as far as I recall. I’ve heard that it had a much more bumpy road in the US, though? I never saw it airing in Canada (though I only watched Teletoon and YTV, so if it wasn’t on them I would have missed it), and when we moved to the US I never saw it airing at all.

Guidelines for My Brothers, Corrupted
Why henlo! This is, as you probably know by this point, an ask blog for Anti and the five egos, corrupted by his influence. We’re here to have fun and be angsty, are we not? Okay but here’s some rules and answers to questions you might have.
What are the boys called?
The egos, with the exception of Anti, have “corruption names” which they are instructed to go by at all times. If you see them being called by their original names, it is A) indicative that they are in some way loosened from Anti’s control in that moment, or B) Mod made a typo. C’est la vie. They go by
Jackie - Red (or Hoodie)
Marvin - Blue (or Kitty)
Henrik - Doktor (or Deutsch)
Chase - Trickshot
JJ - Dapper (or Carver or Monochroma)
The nicknames are just in case you have preferences and so you understand if the other egos call them by these names. You can totally call them by their usual names in your ask. However, you should be aware that it will be as though they had not heard the name - if you send “Does the name Jackie mean anything to you?” he’ll say no. Likewise, questions like “You need to remember who you are, Chase” will only reach him as “You need to remember who you are, Trickshot.” Saying their names will not cause them to remember.
What can I send?
Bruh, anything! It doesn’t have to be just angsty, it can be anything. Happy, sad, random, plot-seeking. You can ask Anti questions too if you’d like.
Why haven’t you answered my ask?
This should be a fairly rare question if you give me at least a couple days before getting stressed or offended or anything. I might not have answered your ask because
I’m waiting for another plot point/more relevant mood before posting a response
You’ve cleverly discovered something I need a little more time to develop
I can’t think of a good response right now and I want to think on it a while!
I’ve gotten a lot of really similar asks and just answered one instead of all. Usually I will screenshot your ask and add it to the other.
My internet or yours is being an asshole
Your ask made me uncomfortable (it’s okay, you can message me if you have questions and we can revise the ask in a way we both like! But I reserve the right to say “um, no” if you’re being pushy or rude about it or if it’s just a really uncomfortable question)
I’m busy! Sorry :( I’ll try to get back to you soon :)
Again, feel free to dm me if you have questions about why I haven’t posted something and as long as you’re not being a jerk about it we’ll totally figure it out
Is there a plot and how do I catch up to it?
There is a plot! Once a “chapter” is finished I will post that it is over and reveal the title that I’ve been working with. However, this plot is not heavily structured. We can go as slow or as fast as we want and if I decide to throw in new elements that I think of on the fly, let’s do it! If there’s something in particular you want to see (this character getting sick, this thing happening) feel free to message me and we might work it in.
This is my first time running an ask blog and I had a TON of fun with my test run. But if I treat it more casually and decide not to go with a really structured plot - well, we’ll see what happens.
What sort of things should I know about the story before sending an ask?
Okay, yeah, let’s lay down some bases.
The egos have little to no memories of the time before they were corrupted
The relationships between many of the egos are tense, as Anti has intentionally pitted many of them against each other, but others remain shakily friendly with each other.
I use a “looking through a camera” format for my egos but there’s not actually a camera and you can ask any of them what’s going on at any time (if you see Chase “holding the camera” you can still ask JJ something in another room
Due to their abuse and the control Anti has on them, some or all of the egos may be unreliable narrators.
Anti knows you’re here and allows the egos to speak with you for his own reasons. If you ask questions he does not like, he may react.
Can I reblog with additional questions instead of sending an ask?
Yes. But you should be aware that A) I am less likely to see and remember it than if you send an ask and B) I am unlikely to reblog a certain entry multiple times. So asks are better, but I’ll check reblogs and try to reply to them too.
Can I tag you in things I create for this au?
HELL YEAH GAMER i LOVE your amazing art, edits, writing, moodboards, and more. Please do credit me, but also tag me just so I can see!!! I may or may not reblog creations but I appreciate the hell out of every single one of them.
Do you tag triggers?
Course, I’m not an asshole! I’m a pretty careful tagger and anything obvious (gun, gore, torture, panic attack, etc) should be tagged. HOWEVER - dudes real talk okay - I’m not going to tag abuse because as far as I’m concerned this whole ask blog is a major abuse trigger. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CONSIDER AVOIDING THIS BLOG IF ABUSE IS TRIGGERING TO YOU.
You’re so valid and I don’t want you to get hurt. If there is a more specific abuse tag I can use to help you - or ANYTHING that you need tagged - please feel free to hit me up. I will absolutely work to accommodate.
I reblog this when we get new waves of followers or there’s some sort of problem! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
You guys are great! Looking forward to writing this story together.

Day 6: Sunday, March 22, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 90. Cases in Story County: 1
It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it is snowing. So much for the first day of spring.
I didn’t mind so much, though, since I had leftover Indian curry to re-heat for dinner. Thank you, Lord for food delivery services. And, yes, I had them leave it at my door and then (digitally) tipped extra well.
  Day 7: Monday, March 23, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 105. Cases in Story County: 1
It looks like I may soon be moving into the parsonage that my parents recently vacated, rather than signing onto a new lease.
Conveniently, I just received some cute packing cubes in my FabFitFun subscription spring box, and I’ve been itching to try them out.
I figure this now-packed-and-cutely-organized suitcase can either serve as a quick-getaway case, if I need to bunk in with family after this first two-week quarantine period is over, or else as a make-shift wardrobe to live out of while moving. Regardless, it made me feel like I’d gotten something done.
  Day 8: Tuesday, March 24, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 124. Cases in Story County: 2
Last week, Target had Winky Lux Flower lip balms on sale for 50%-off. Pandemic stress induced retail therapy, and I ordered both a pink and a purple one online. They arrived today. And I ADORE them.
The first COVID-19 death in Iowa was reported today. I didn’t want to include that in the stats; it seemed disrespectful. But it’s all part of this looming disaster train we have to watch driving at us day-by-day, so I thought it deserved a note.
  Day 9: Wednesday, March 25, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 145. Cases in Story County: 2.
No pictures today. If there were, they would be screenshots of stuff on social media over which I have been shaking with fury. All these “reason”-based claims that we should be willing to sacrifice the lives of anyone vulnerable among us just to keep the world-as-we-knew-it running a tiny bit more normally for approximately two-to-three more months before the virus resurges. And so much of it from people I used to respect — people I used to think morally-principled, or even admirable. I don’t want to look at any of it any longer than I already have. That garbage has no platform on my blog.
  Day 10: Thursday, March 26, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 179. Cases in Story County: 2.
Trying to create some distance between myself and the internet, so spent my breaks and time after work reading today.
And I didn’t get a picture, but the family with the bunch of little kids that I mentioned last week were out in full force with little drums and plastic tambourines on their walk today.
  Day 11: Friday, March 27, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 179. Cases in Story County: 2.
SOME clever kitty decided to interrupt every single one of my Zoom calls today by jumping up on the desk in front of my computer, plopping himself down, rolling over, and purring loudly until I pet his tummy. Terribly professional.
  Day 12: Saturday, March 28, 2020
Cases in Iowa: 298. Cases in Story County: 2.
Received my long-anticipated “Blind Date with a Book” from my Once Upon a Book Club subscription box. The idea is that members each have to complete three acts of kindness, either from the list of suggestions or things we made up ourselves, and then post these on social media with a special hashtag, before we can open our books. OUABC then donates money to the World Literacy Foundation for every act of kindness we post.
Here is my package:
And here are the three “random acts” I documented.
1). Consistently tipping all of my delivery drivers between 30% and 50% during this quarantine, and then taking the time to leave every single one of them a positive review, including a comment requesting that their companies guarantee health insurance and sick leave for ALL of their workers.
2). Have been meditating every single day for 7 days in a row. I’ve previously gotten up to 30 days in a row on Headspace, so this isn’t exactly my record. But I’d been letting the practice slide recently and am trying to be more consistent. And the list of suggestions included with my book did indicate that kindness towards self counted, so…
3). I assembled a “self-care” package that I intend to leave out on the porch for my mail carrier on Monday. After I took the pictures below, I also added a tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, a package of pop-tarts, and some Dove chocolates.
And . . . unfortunately, I can’t conclude a picture of the book I received, as we aren’t supposed to publish spoilers yet. But it turned out to be something I already have. So disappointed! I hadn’t read the book yet, though, so maybe this is just confirmation that it will be a good fit for me and I should move it up on my TBR pile.

PC Gamer wrote about 25 MMOs that “lived and died” since the launch of WoW (originally published in May, advertised again recently). I assumed I’d see several in there that I at least tried out, but I didn’t know there’d be so many I’ve never even heard of. For a person very much interested in MMOs, I guess this tells a lot about the respective MMOs. Still, I did give several a try and I also am sad to see that some aren’t around anymore. How cool would it be if MMOs that were closed could still be played on your PC, offline. Obviously, raids would be an issue if you’re just one single player. But it would still be nice as a sandbox kind of game, to walk around in and experience parts of the worlds you haven’t have the time to see yet.
So in the past 15 years and according to their list, here are the ones I at least tried out at some point:
City of Heroes
I am pretty sure I tried out that game at some point. However, I apparently did not take any screenshots of the game. Or I am imagining things and I only tried out Champions Online. But my memory says I gave two superhero MMOs a try and I didn’t like either of them. That’s not because they are bad. It’s more that while I enjoyed watching the Superman films as a kid and I loved watching Batman on TV, I am just not a fan of superheroes in my games. I definitely prefer fantasy settings with the occasional science fiction sprinkled in.
Tabula Rasa
If I remember correctly, I never actually bought Tabula Rasa. Bookahnerk had it and so did his cousin. I’d been tempted, but didn’t want to get a second subscription. Something about the game had caught my attention, though. I like playing games with some shooter elements from time to time if they’re in third person view. More importantly, the game had zone events, a bit like Rift does and Guild Wars 2. NPCs could attack and if there was no defense, then the zone or part of the zone was in their control. Before the game closed, it was freely accessible which is when I took the chance and visited the game again. I think it’s sad that the game got closed, but I guess it was released in a too unfinished state and that’s never a good start. Here’s something odd: I was looking through my uploaded media to check which screenshots of Tabula Rasa I’ve shown here before – and there are none. Apparently, I didn’t write much about Tabula Rasa here before. Must have been in another blog format then, possibly on Livejournal before I started WordPress.
Vanguard: City of Heroes
Poor Vanguard. Here is the thing… There is only one reason I did not jump into the game after trying it out: It wasn’t going to receive any meaningful updates anymore. Of course, I would have had lots of things to explore and see if I had started playing it, but I did not want to find a new “home” when I didn’t know for how long it would be around. I especially liked the diplomacy card mini game.
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Ah, one game that I’m still very upset about! Partly that it’s not around anymore and partly because of how bad the game had been handled. It had so much potential, but the players didn’t have powerful enough PCs at the time and the servers couldn’t handle it either. I know that by now, neither seems to be a big issue anymore, because thankfully, there is a private server around nowadays. If they decided to give us WAR 2.0, I would definitely jump in without hesitation… okay, a little bit of hesitation and I wouldn’t give them a 6 month subscription immediately. But I would be interested! For me, it’s been the best open world PvP experience I have ever had. Yes, I know there are lots of voices calling for 3 factions instead of 2 fighting against each other and I agree. What I mean with the best experience is that I usually stay far away from open world PvP, but in Warhammer, only parts of each zone were contested and you could be in the non-contested parts, watch the chat, figure out where in the PvP part you’d be needed and just jump in for as long as you wanted to.
Hello Kitty Online
Now, in my defense: A former colleague loved Hello Kitty and when I saw that it has an MMO, I had to give it a try and tell her about it. So that’s also how the blog post about the game came to be. This isn’t an MMO I would have ever played seriously, but it was fun to try and write about it.
Wildstar
Another game where I’m really upset that it doesn’t exist anymore. I loved Wildstar! For some time, I had a subscription before it went free to play. Then I continued playing it, but I left after a while. This, just as Vanguard, seemed like a game that wouldn’t get more updates which always kept me from going back to the game 100 %. I did enjoy my time and would wish it came back online again, with active development, preferrably. Also, I really loved their take on the Christmas in-game holiday.
Everquest Next / Landmark
They listed Everquest Next and Landmark as two separate games, I think. For me, it’s both the same. We never got to step a foot into Everquest Next. Landmark was originally just meant to be a sandbox tool to create and build things in. Then at some point, they changed their mind and tried to make it a real game. But I was always confused about the direction they were going and what exactly their plans were with Landmark. As far as Everquest Next is concerned, I never liked the graphic design. It was fine for Landmark. It just didn’t feel right for the successor to Everquest I and II.
That is 8 out of 25 MMOs. Not bad. I’ve known about more than these eight, but I wasn’t interested in even trying them out (for whatever reason – see Hello Kitty).
The list is probably not listing all MMOs. For example, it’s lacking Fallen Earth which only closed down recently.
(IntPiPoMo count: 44 in total)
MMOs that came and left since WoW launched PC Gamer wrote about 25 MMOs that "lived and died" since the launch of WoW (originally published in May, advertised again recently).

@ask-skylark.
[BLOG]: faunfiction.tungle.com                               Antifaunism in Education:                              Discipline v. Faunus Rights
My deepest apologies for not having posted lately. The amount of antifaun bullshit I’ve had to deal with from Beacon Academy has been unreal. Long story short, a group of dedicated antifauns have outed me, and I’ve been put on academic probation while they continue to pose a violent threat.
So here’s what happened. Cardin Winchester (click here for a full list of his blogs so you know which ones to block), as you all know, has been Beacon Academy’s strongest antifaun voice online and off--but what is worse, he has been known to target Faunus students both verbally and physically. I knew eventually that he would come after me, and so I had to prepare myself, but I  trusted that if he did, the school would at least be on my side.
That was my biggest mistake.
I should have known from the beginning what kind of treatment I would receive, but since Ozpin had been kind to me, I allowed myself to be caught off-guard. The Faunus rights classic Antifaunism in Education exposed for the first time ten years ago that Faunus students are disciplined more strongly than human students, and the author writes today of how nothing has changed. (sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.) What happened in Beacon was a reflection of that. I was severely punished for acting in self-defense while the perpetrators got away with everything.
As to the incident? Cardin didn’t attack me first, but I had reason to believe he was going to. Last year he made insensitive remarks about violence against the Faunii in class, sometimes even directing them at me because I always defended us--in a previous post I had even dissociated in class because he bragged about the ways in which his grandfather had scalped us. About a week ago, when the incident happened, he tried to talk to me after class. That’s when it started.
“So,” he said. He was slowly walking me into a corner as he spoke. “You seem pretty passionate about this Faunus stuff. Any reason why?”
The way he spoke as though he knew something about me, and the way he stood made him appear highly intimidating. I have been attacked like this on the streets before--I even used to have panic attacks when cornered by anyone for any reason, even when it was a teacher trying to get me to stay in one place while he lectured me. Also, considering that newly outed Faunii are common targets for antifaun violence and that there is a far-right campaign dedicated to outing and attacking hidden Faunii, that made me doubly ready to fight back and I was completely justified in doing it.
I told him I was passionate because I wanted to stick up for what I believed in. He said “hm, that’s kind of cute” and took a step closer. Then he asked me just how badly I believed in what I said--once again, I took this to be a threat, because he seemed to imply that he would test my beliefs with physical violence. To get him to back off, I slashed at him with my claws. Even though I was in hiding, the threat that I felt from him made me break my cover and attack. He tried punching me, but each time only managed to punch one of my shadow clones. I had to slash him again before I managed to run away.
Obviously, Cardin was quick to portray himself as the victim. Here are screenshots of the messages he and some of his friends sent me after the incident.
[TW for ableism, violence and gore under the spoiler - highly distressing images + mentions of war crimes and dead Faunii.]
1. [Cardin]: Lmao I always knew you were one of them. Not surprised you were too much of a /scaredy-cat/ to admit it. Just wait until Ozpin deals with you--don’t bother telling him you were traumatized because none of that triggered bullshit is an excuse for attacking me. I really just wanted to know why you always seemed so hot and bothered in history class but it’s not my problem if you’re too much of an angry bitch to recognize that.
2. [Cardin]: Oh, and it was easy finding your blog. I had a feeling only you could come up with all the SJ stuff that you do here. Maybe if you were nicer to me I would have listened but oh well, what can you do with a radical. :\
3. [Anonymous]: I better see you slit your own throat with those claws
4. [One of Cardin’s friends]: Hey. You. Yes, you. You lay another hand on my bro Cardin and I’m gonna put you in stitches. Who you gonna call, the White Fang? We’ll wipe you out faster than Vale did in the prison camps.
5. [There is an anonymously submitted image of Faunii massacred in an infamous war crime, one that everyone in Remnant knows and regards as an atrocity.] We’re coming for you, kitty.
6. [There is an anonymously submitted image of a dismembered Faunus child above the message.] Don’t mess with us.
I have PTSD. I was unable to even organize those images into this post--I had to ask a teammate to do it for me.
And it gets worse.
PTSD is half the reason I am in this situation right now. If I were a neurotypical Faunus, I would have been believed right away. But instead, my concerns for my physical safety were invalidated and written off as paranoia and irrational anger that came about as a result of my illness--the administrators who talked to me told me so when I protested my sentence. (Those of you against intersectional justice, take note--both antifaunism and ableism played a part in my unjust probation.) Cardin knew this could happen because anyone can read on my blog that I have PTSD. And so he managed to get away with what he did by portraying himself as “reasonable” in contrast with my “irrational” and “PTSD-fueled” actions--he took the same angle with the administrators that he did with me in his first message: he claimed he was just curious and that I had attacked him out of nowhere.
The end result: Cardin, a straight human male and committed antifaun, has not received any punishment. The friend of his who managed to show his face to me only received two weeks of academic probation, while I received six months.
Of course I also demanded an investigation into the anonymous messages. The school replied that they took “no responsibility” for things that happened anonymously online, when those messages were clearly sent by people attending Beacon Academy--if not Cardin himself. I sent them a reply stating my case for an investigation, to which they have not yet replied. Presumably, they have no interest in helping me.
Do you know what academic probation means here in Beacon? When there’s violence involved, your weapon is taken away from you.
I am left without a weapon while the people who threatened me roam free.
I, Blake Belladonna, am outed, punished and unsafe while the school drags its feet investigating the anonymous threat. While Cardin or any of the anonymous students are free to corner and attack me at any time.
Ozpin may have helped me two years ago, but now he and his administration display the same callousness toward my species as could be expected from other schools.
I have never felt more sickened and betrayed.

blake spent most of her recent days alone. yeah, maybe she should be sticking together with team rwby for safety in numbers, but how could she be around them when she knew exactly what they thought of it? weiss got all huffy and self-righteous about how violence is never the answer. yang said the same thing as weiss, except she tried to say it more gently. and ruby? oh, bless her poor little heart, she was so innocent and sweet and full of platitudes of goodness and joy--
enough.
she was justified. she would hear no other opinion.
she did not regret the feel of her claws tearing through his face. the swift, elegant hook like the swoop of an eagle’s talons, the seamless sweep of finger-blades through flesh, the fierce precision of the swipe that would just miss the jugular. in fact, there was a part of her that enjoyed it; a very small part, but it existed nonetheless.
cardin’s blog said that the wounds on his face, neck and chest required more stitches than he could count on his hands.
cardin winchester in stitches. she could now die fulfilled.
but for every revenge, there was a counter-revenge--that was the way things went between humans and faunii, and that was the way it would always be. she could smell it coming now: sky lark?
there. THERE. she was justified. he was coming to attack her. he was.
she whirled around to face him, crouching into a fighting stance.
