barnes and noble has been raising the prices of everything and further pushing for their premium membership option (which they raised the price of by 60 percent this year!) and then when they have big sales events, they're less than what they used to be.

last year at this time you could get one of their leather-bound book annex tomes for $12.50 (without a member discount) because of the 50 percent off all hardcover sales. but they raised the price of those tomes from 25 bucks to 30, and they decreased the sale from 50 percent off all hardcovers to 1/3rd off. so that same book that was $12.50 at last year's end-of-year sale is now 20 bucks. and that's supposed to be savings enough to induce me to walk into one of their stores this week?

i'm sorry but b&n has just gotten so greedy, even though their business has only been doing better and better in previous years. they do not have to be raising prices like they have been, and they can damn well afford to have the same savings events they used to. if you went to one of those hardcover sales a year or two ago, even if you lived in a less populated area like i do, you had never seen a b&n so busy in your life. things were flying off the shelves. they WERE making bank.

and as a company they've only been growing and growing (as much as the publishing industry has been, in recent years). but there are so many other ways to buy books. CHEAPER ways to buy books. MORE SUSTAINABLE ways to buy books. and since books and booksellers are doing really well right now, i don't see why barnes and noble is getting so greedy when they don't have to be. i dont like new shiny books that much. people buy books for the content, ultimately. sometimes we as consumers might make the choice that a new shiny book is worth paying a bit more for, but not that much. barnes and noble has just been demanding more and more of their customers' money for less and less benefit.

it's the radio station for kfam. kurt m is falling out of grace with station management, more so because of the Curse that's increasingly gotten worse within the station itself as well as the town. forrest nash is getting booted out of chicago. alas, he finds a mysterious letter addressed to him that a position will soon be open in gallows creek, so off he rides, melancholy into the behemoth of a building, in a dark and spooky town.

kurt m has been scared off, but forrest doesn't believe in ghosts, doesn't believe in demons, and the only person "living" in the basement, "underground," is clive, the janitor, and it's not like he never goes home, so what's the big deal?

until after his first week(?), peggy leaves slightly earlier than he does, and forrest is left alone only to hear a faint whistling coming from alllll the way down the stairs.

oh my god the 'fanfiction isn't books' post is on my dash again...I just think it's so funny how people act like this is such a cut and dry argument when content matter, format, quality, length, editing, medium, style, originality, production value, etc. obsfucates the designation of 'book' so thoroughly as to make the argument nearly meaningless. there is nothing you could say about fanfic as a category that can't also apply to some kind of book. a lot more things fit into that category than you might think, and it kind of doesn't mean they have any inherent superiority in format

So basically this Player is the part of Xehanort’s heart that remembers being Player. Also the part that has morals. While Terra is possessed he finds himself on Xehanort’s heart station and is approached by this Player, who seems sorta out of it but friendly. Terra comes to the conclusion that Player is in a similar situation to him and befriends them. They keep each other company and Player tries their best to make sure Terra isn’t lonely, but slowly but surely they start slipping- both in their facade and mentally. Eventually they come clean: they aren’t trapped here by Xehanort they are Xehanort, but at this point Terra doesn’t really have anything else besides the memories of his friends and Player has been nothing but nice to him (plus triggers his Big Brother Instincts™️) so he’s a lot more forgiving then he probably should be.

Some facts about this Playernort

-minor shape shifter, can only take forms they took when they were alive.

-when particularly distraught they turn into a young Xehanort, mainly chess Xehanort but sometimes child Xehanort, always grey-eyed.

-is very much purposefully deceiving Terra about not being Xehanort at the beginning, their reasoning for doing this isn’t necessarily bad but it’s still not great.

-Terra ends up enjoying their company more when they look like chess Xehanort, it’s the form where they seem the most honest and some part of him is oddly comforted by the fact that Master Xehanort was once this kind young boy.

And a little thing I wrote:

Terra: what?

Xehanort: not all of me, what I’ve done to you is proof enough of that but...

Thinking about the Watcher Entertainment paywall debacle again and the two most unbelievable parts of it to me are

That they told Variety they were going to eventually remove all their old content from YouTube and then claimed they were never going to do that after the announcement backlash

That they were originally going to charge their patrons, people already giving them monthly payments to make their shows, an additional monthly subscription payment to be able to watch the shows they were funding
