I Come With Knives Pt6
Astarion x gn!Tav/Reader
(The other parts of this story are under the First BG3 Masterlist, or you can use the AO3 link to read it there)
This one is my problem child. I have no idea how to write for the other companions but I needed to have this as context for the companions learning about Tav's bg and yeah whatever I've got better stuff coming up. I am very very excited for future chapters >:)
Warnings: self-destructive coping mechanisms (scratching oneself), mentions of slavery, hints of a panic attack, mentions of emotional abuse, mentions of biting, possibly OOC companions
Word Count: 1,334

Everyone eyed you warily. You didnât blame them. After you scrubbed your hands raw of the blood staining them, you provided no explanation. Youâd basically sped in, Astarion trailing behind, and ran for a bucket of water. And stayed there. For hours. After the fact, you changed out the water, of course, but they werenât concerned as much with the pink-tinted water as they were with the frantic nature you scraped the natural dye from your hands.
Astarion didnât say anything either. A few of them had tried asking, but he smiled tersely and made an excuse that changed each time. âI was too distracted fighting a beast.â âYou know how some people get with germs.â âThey really hate the color red.â (This one was not said to Karlach, nor in her earshot.)Â
It all came to a head at dinner, when youâd still provided no explanation. Gale handed out servings silently, staring at you as though studying a new specimen. Laeâzel watched you like a predator trying to defend her territory, prepared for the moment the intruder stepped over the line. Shadowheart barely repressed her scowl.
Wyll set down his bowl pointedly. âHavenât you kept your secrets hidden long enough?â You raise your eyes from your barely-touched stew. You didnât quite see him. Your mind lingered on the image of the Gur. âDo you expect us to continue following blindly while we pour our souls out for you?â
You bristled. The image disappeared, tucked away to haunt you later. âNo. No, Iâm sorry.â You sighed and set your bowl aside. Everyone watched you expectantly, more interested in what you could say than filling their bellies. âItâs just⊠difficult to talk about.â
âSpeak,â Laeâzel encourages roughly. âWe will listen.â
Astarion frowns at you. Heâs taken to sitting beside you for âdinnerâ. They knew by now he wasnât suited to eating normal food, but he didnât quite trust them not to stake him through the heart or cut his head off. It was safest to linger by your side. The irony of your trust in him was not lost on him: You understood him best and you feared him the most. That fear may have dampened over time, but you still flinched at the gleam of his fangs, watched him as he left camp to hunt at night. Yet youâd bared your soul to him and him alone. He couldnât wrap his head around it.
You inhale, slow and shaky. Your hands fiddle in your lap, providing you some sort of distraction. It would not be enough to ground you to reality should the thoughts become too potent.
âI was⊠am,â you corrected unsurely, âa vampireâs thrall. She⊠uses me as a blood source. Has used me, for years. Iâve been stuck under her thumb since I was a teenager. Itâs⊠easier to have one consistent source of food than to go out looking for it every night.
âWhen we were out in the woods,â you nod your head slightly toward Astarion, âthere was a Gur. A monster hunter. A-And he said he was looking for a runaway.â Your breaths sharpen into quick, frightened little things. You nearly choke on them. You stare into the fire. Your nails start scratching at your hands. You donât even realize youâre doing it. âHe had nothing to go on, just a name, but I panicked and I- I killed him. I shouldnât have. I know I shouldnât have. I could have explained everything. I could have paid him off. I could have-â
âSteady on, soldier,â Karlach interrupts. You canât look at her, canât draw your eyes away from the flickering flames, but you know she looks worried. It always amazed you how openly she wore her emotions, despite it all. âTake a breath, okay?â
Your nails stop scratching in favor of digging into your skin. You take a breath, slowly let it out, and your nails ease off. You run your fingertips mindlessly over the indents left behind.
You whisper, unable to raise your voice any further. âHe said my master is in Berdusk.â
Quiet. Gale spoke up, voicing the awful realization everyone had. âThatâs only a few miles from Baldurâs Gate.â
You nod.
âYouâre marchinâ right back to her.â Karlach sighs, heavy and empathetic.
You finally lift your eyes from the fire. Everyoneâs attention is on you, pitying and remorseful. âI have no choice. I canât abandon you all just to run away. Especially with these tadpoles. I have no doubts sheâll find me quickly once we reach the city.â
âWe could confront her,â Wyll suggests. âGo to Berdusk, face her head on, free you!â
âItâs not some goblin camp we can just walk into and clear out,â you protest. The idea thrills you to no end, but you cannot allow yourself that hope. Not when there is none. You will be found. Tonight, the next, a week from now. Youâll be locked back into your servitude. There is no chance you have to be free. âKilling a vampire lord isnât- Itâs not just-â
Astarion speaks up. You donât expect it; heâd been so quiet this whole time. âIf we can kill Cazador, we can kill Kir Parthene.â Your stomach rolls around at the sound of her name. âWhat makes facing my master any different from yours?â
You know the answer. Even if you donât realize it yet, you know.
You have no qualms threatening Cazador. Youâve even told Astarion that you plan to help him kill his master, once and for all. Free him and his âsiblingsâ, and rid Baldurâs Gate of the nighttime threat to its people. No longer would they have to go out, lure victims in as food for the vampire lord. It was so easy to promise. If you could help everyone else, why should you leave Astarion to the same fate you faced after this quest? He should be as free as possible from the chains binding him.
So why couldnât you let them swear the same for you? What made Kir Parthene so different from Cazador? She was not stationed in as large a city, she did not steal souls off the street every night just for a quick meal, she did not personally carve poetry into the flesh of those beneath her. She had power, but no more than Cazador held. So why were you so reluctant to even dream of your freedom?
You were afraid.
Astarion can see the very second you know the answer to his question. Your eyes open a fraction wider, filling with a bottomless dread. Your heart stutters and your breath catches. Heâs sure youâre on the verge of tears as you inhale a trembling breath, trying to keep yourself from hyperventilating, even as your fear squeezes your lungs.
âYou wonât have to face her alone.â You turn to look at Shadowheart. âYouâve given us the strength to face our demons. We can help you face yours.â
You want to believe her. Believe all of them as they nod in agreement. Believe they could give you the strength you lacked, support you when you come face-to-face with her once more.
But then you see the deep crimson of her eyes and lips. You feel her nails digging into your skin. The cooing affections that come just after the harsh vitriol. Her teeth digging deep into your neck. How can you have any hope of facing her?
You shake your head and push yourself to your feet so fast Astarion is startled. âIâm sorry. I canât think about this right now.â You abandon your dinner. It sits, lonely and growing cold, as you step away from the warm glow of the fire and the safety of your companions into the edge of trees surrounding your camp. You donât go far, just far enough you canât hear them speaking and they canât see you collapse against a tree, clutching and clawing at your hands to remove the memories from your mind.
At least they know now.

Hello? Is someone there?(Undex and Kup fanfic)
Another fic Iâve decided to make, this time dealing with Undex first meeting his grandsire and not knowing it. Shout out to @blustering-old-fool who helped me with the idea for this fic.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
âSorry son, you know I love you right?â
Undex only looked down and puffed out his cheeks. âYou always say thatâŠ.and then you always leaveâŠâ Undex tries his best not to tear up. Rodimus bents down on one knee and sighs âSorry Undex but I have responsibilities of the shi to take care of. Even if Iâm co captain nowâŠâ Rodimus whispered the last part a bit begrudgingly.
âYeah I knowâŠâ Undex whispered, he really wanted to hang out with his dad today, it had been way to long. âNope. None of that now!â With that Rodimus swiftly picked Undex up and kissed him continuously on his cheek, something he knew Undex hated of course.
âEW! EW! STOP! IâM GONNA GET DAD GERMS!â Undex chuckled while tiny servos playfully swatted his Sires face plating. âThen now pouting! You creator should be back in an hour.â Rodimus gently plopped Undex down and rubbed his helm. âPromise me youâll be good okay.â
Undex makes a small smile back âI promise!â And with that his dad was gone. Undex sighed and walked around the habsuite, it was littered with his toys and creators things. âWell I should at least try and put these upâŠâ hem mumbled to himself. Undex picked up the data pads and went to his parents closet, while on his quest to actually tidy up for once he manger to find an old unfamiliar data pad in the box. It didnât take long for Undexâs Sparkling curiosity to get the best of him. Plus he was bored.
So very bored.
Undex blew dust off the old data and smiled, maybe he could find some cool videos of his dad on here! As Undex scrolled through the data pad he noticed what looked like a younger version of his sire, but he looked way different. Maybe he had to grow into his looks later?
There were several pictures of Rodimus with a bunch of unfamiliar bots and what looked to be humans! But what stood out the most seem to be one reoccurring bot next to him, usually smiling or shout at him about something. Regardless what it was sire seemed glad that he was around, then he scrolled to the very last picture with the two. It showed him and the bot side hugging as the person behind took the picture, underneath it scribbled:
âIf you ever want to hear from me or my old stories again make a call kid.â Sincerely âcup?â
The name was glitching a bit, but thatâs what it looked like at least. Undex stared at the com line number for a bit, this bot had good stories? Using his com line was a big âno noâ for Undex at his age, but talking to strangers was twice as bad.
âWellâŠif dad had so many pictures of him, he couldnât be a complete strangerâŠright?â
Undex pondered to himself as he stared at the the numbers. âScrew it.â He was dialing this mech he needed answers and possibly entertainment. Undex waited as the dial up noises began, he wasnât even sure if this line would still even work-
:âŠ.Hello? Hello? Who is this?:
An old bot answered, he actually answered it!
:Is this you kid? You there?:
Well thereâs no turning back now!
: "H-Hi.. I read a datapad that said you tell stories... can I have one?": he spouted in a innocent and child like tone.
:I meanâŠyah but who's this? This is hotrods private line..?":
Undex squinted a bit at those words, who was hot rod?
:"I'm undex, hotrod? Sires name is RodimusâŠdid you mix up your bots? You must must have spelled your his name wrong":
The other line was silent for quite some time before the old mech answered again. : â....Yah it's rodimusâŠ.my apologies.â: Undex smiled, so he did remember his Sire.
:âAnyways- you spell your name with a âkâ not a âcâ thatâs weird.â:
:â Yep thatâs the weird thing about this conversationâŠand kid, you're name means underwater explosion... you're Sires not the brightest"
Undex groaned :â Oh yeah at least my name sounds cool! Besides my Sire and creator made my name!â:
Kups sigh could be heard across the com line. : ".....why am I arguing with a toddler":
Undex grumbled again :âstupidâ:
Kup :âtinyâ:
Undex :âoldâ:
Kup :âbabyâ:
Undex :âuglyâ:
Kup :âShort!â:
Undex gave an exaggerated gasp, how did know?! :âUndex just goes âYeah! You sound old, how do you know my dad anyways?â:
:âWell thatâs because Iâm his adoptive Sire-â:
:âWHAT!â: Undex jumps from his seating position out of shock.
:âwhoopsâŠâ: Kup honestly wasnât ready for today. First he got a call from Hot Rod which he hadnât heard from in years, now heâs talking to a Sparkling who didnât even sound to be 10 vorns. knew from the moment Undex corrected him that this was Rodimusâs kid. Dear primusâŠ.
:âListen kidâŠâ:
:ââŠ. I have a grandsire?â: Undex whispered.
:"YeahâŠ.you doâ:
Undex face slowly lite up with joy :âI HAVE A GRANDSIRE! I HAVE A GRANDSIRE!â: Undex cheered jumping up and down.
Kup chuckled to himself :âYep Iâm your grandsire, Iâm surprised Rodimus didnât tell ya earlier.â:
This boring day just got ten times better, Undex always wanted more family members and now he has a grandsire! :âI have so many question-â:
âUndex sweetie! Where are you? Aaaww did you try and tidy up.~â
Uh oh that was definitely his creator, he had to go. NOW.
:âUm my creator just cam back, I have to go nowâŠ.but can we talk again soon grandsire? I still wanna hear some of your stories.â: Undex asked ever so innocently.
Kup chuckled once more :â Donât worry Undex Iâll make sure to tell plenty of stories to you. Now go to your creator, sheâs probably worried sick.â:
Undex smiled :âOkay see you later grandsire!â: Undex then ended the com line and hid the datapad. He couldnât wait to talk to his grandsire again.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
It had been a whole week since Undex heard from Kup. He had started to get worried, heâd didnât tell his parents about this but did they figure it out already?
Undex was walking down the hallway dialing the number again. This was his fifth time already.
Please pick up. Please!
:âHello?â:
âHello kid.â
Undex jumped and turned around at the raspy yet familiar voice. His optics widen out of pure joy.
ââŠSo your my Grandson huh, I knew youâd be tiny but-â
Normal Undex would be angry at comments on his height, but he was to overjoyed to care. âGRANDSIRE! GRANDSIRE!â Undex cheered as he went to hug his ped.
Kup just scoops him up, and ruffles his helm a bit. " I told you Iâd get back to ya didnât I. It's nice to meet you, lad.. I'm Kup.."
Undex lifted his head Undex: ââK-U-Pâ right? Thatâs still weird!â he then letâs out a laugh.
He definitely wonât be bored again anytime soon!

Prompt - I knew I did from that first moment we met. It wasâŠnot love at first sight exactly, but - familiarity. Like: oh, hello, itâs you. Itâs going to be you.
ââââââââââââââââââ
Spencer Reid knew from the moment he laid eyes on you that you were something else, he could tell from one glance that you would change his life. No words needed to be exchanged for the man to be completely and utterly taken by you. He watched as you walked through the door, though your head was held high, shoulders pushed back giving the impression of complete confidence, he saw the way you fiddled with the strap of your bag with one hand. When he looked at your other hand he could see your forefinger picking at your thumb, clearly a nervous habit. He watched as you looked around the room, watched as Rossi made his way over to you, guiding you over to Hotchâs office with a smile.
âDown, pretty boy.â Derek grinned as Spencer startled, his head snapping around to face Derek just as you entered Hotchâs office. âIâve never seen that look on your face and you donât even know her name.â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â Spencer replied, cringing at how unconvincing he sounded.
He turned away from Derek and tried to focus on his paperwork but he could stop his eyes from straying over to the closed office door every few minutes much to Derek and Rossiâs amusement.
âWho is she anyway?â Derek asked.
âSheâs lucky number ten,â Rossi told them, smothering a smile as Spencer looked over, âwho knew finding another agent would be so difficult.â
âWait,â another voice interrupted, âthereâs a new person here? Is she nice? Why is that always my first question?â The group laughed as Penelope quizzed Rossi.
âListen, I know as much as you people.â He said and before anyone else could speak Penelope was being handed a folder causing them all to groan.
-
âAgent Hotchner?â You asked as you were granted access to the office.
Hotch stood as you walked in, moving around his desk to hold a hand out to you.
âYes and youâre Y/F/N Y/L/N, I presume?â He asked, smiling slightly at you as you nodded, still fiddling with your bag. âItâs a pleasure to meet you, please have a seat.â
âThank you sir.â You smiled, taking a seat in the offered chair watching as he made his way back behind his desk.
âYour supervisor spoke very highly of you when I spoke with him, your success rate is impressive.â Hotch praised, glancing down at the file in front of him. âYour latest case seemed rather difficult, are you sure youâre ready to be back in the field again?â
âI passed all my psychiatric exams, I was cleared to return.â You told him stiffly.
âIâm aware of your results, I just want to be sure youâre ready. Infiltrating yourself into the life of Douglas Miller couldnât have been an easy feat.â Hotch watched as a look of satisfaction took over your face.
âIâm ready, sir.â You told him, relaxing slightly. âIt was a tough case, Iâll be the first to admit that seeing what I saw had an impact but I can do this.â
Hotch smiled at you before closing the folder.
âI believe you,â he said, âI think youâll be a valuable addition to this team.â
The words were what you were hoping to hear, youâd wanted a job with the BAU for longer than you could remember but you paused. Surely it wasnât that easy, right?
âWait? Thatâs it?â You asked.
âThatâs it.â Hotch confirmed, fighting back a smile at your expression.
âBut- but Iâve been here less than five minutes.â You countered back, there were so many emotions going on within you that you felt slightly overwhelmed.
âY/N, ever since your name was put forward I looked into your work and I was impressed. Your skills at undercover work are far above what Iâve seen in a long time, that alone would be an incredibly useful assest to the team but on top of that your ability to connect and empathise with unsubs, fast thinking and your profiling skills- trust me, you deserve this job and I have complete faith in you.â Hotchâs words had left you speechless, you had no clue how to respond but thankfully you didnât have to as the door was pushed open and both you and Hotch turned to look at the brightly dressed woman in the doorway.
âIâm sorry to interrupt sir but we have a case.â The woman said and Hotch stood gesturing for you to follow.
âYou have a to go bag?â He asked as you both walked out the door.
âYes sir.â You nodded, still baffled by how well things had gone.
âGood, welcome to the team Y/L/N.â
-
âEveryone, this is SSA Y/F/N Y/L/N. Iâm sure proper introductions can be made later.â Hotch said as the two of you entered the room before gesturing to Garcia that she could begin.
âOk, yes, so, we have five bodies so far found in Wyoming. The first two bodies were hidden amongst some trees close to firehole bay. The ME presumes that the time of death was mostly likely a week ago but we should have full confirmation when you arrive. The victims, who we havenât been able to identify yet, but I am working on it, were stripped completely and the wounds, that are in your files because I so do not need to see that, show heavy signs of torture. â Garcia informed you all.
âThe next body was a single male, again stripped and tortured and the ME says this death is most likely four to five days old. This body was found a few miles away from Basin Bay Point campsite.â
âWait a second,â somebody interrupted, causing you to turn your head. There sat a man, younger than the rest of the team, he wasâŠhow you had missed him you didnât know but now you felt like you couldnât look away. âIf Iâm not mistaken those places are roughly twenty miles from each other at walking distance.â
âAnd driving distance?â An older man asked.
âI donât think there is a way to drive to Basin Bay Point, especially not to where the body was left.â The younger man replied, looking down at the folder he was given with a frown.
âIâll have a map ready for you on the plane.â Penelope assured him before continuing. âNow, the next two bodies were the most recent, ME says they were killed a day or two ago and these victims we have been able to identify as Taylor Gomez and her boyfriend Jack Gaskarth.â Penelope said as she brought their pictures up. âThey were never reported missing because they had told friends and family they were going camping, which checks out because their bodies were found three miles away from Lewis Lake campground. They show the same wounds as the other vics.â Garcia explained.
You grimaced as you looked down at the tablet Hotch had passed you as you saw a young man and woman, naked with slices all across their bodies, as well as deep bruising to the neck.
âWhat was the CoD, Garcia?â The younger man spoke up again.
âME still needs to run a full examination but her best bet is that it was asphyxiation.â She told him with a frown.
âThat makes sense, there isnât a lot of blood or scabbing which suggests they were done post mortem.â
âSo what,â you spoke up, pausing for a moment when everyone turned to you, âthe unsub blitz attacks the victims and kills them before torturing them? Whatâs the point in that?â
âIt could be a number of things actually. Perhaps itâs not about the kills for him but more to do with the fascination of the human body, weâve seen it before where curiosity leads to this kind of attack. It could also be that he has to kill, he has a compulsion to kill and once heâs given into that compulsion he gets to fulfil other urges. If I had to guess Iâd say the victims are victims of opportunity-â The younger man rambled, his hands gesturing in front of him as he spoke causing you to smile.
âBecause there is no set pattern, he crosses race and gender lines and thereâs no secondary location.â You cut off the other man who looked at you with a grin.
âExactly, the area is so isolated that he can get away with quick and easy killings but because it doesnât seem like thereâs a secondary location yet we have to presume that the torture is a means to satisfy himself when he canât hold his victims hostage.â
âItâs a long flight and this unsub doesnât appear to be slowing down. Wheels up in fifteen.â Hotch said as he stood up, everyone was quick to follow until it was just you and the guy you had spoken to left.
âHi.â He said, causing you to turn around with a smile.
âHi.â
âIâm Spencer, Spencer Reid.â He introduced himself.
âY/F/N Y/L/N, nice to meet you.â You replied, reaching out your hand to shake his, your eyebrows pulling together slightly as he shook his head.
âSorry, I donât um,â He said, causing you to drop your hand and nod understandingly, âitâs nothing against you, justâŠgerms.â He trailed off, berating himself in his head.
âNo problem.â You smiled again, god that smile. Spencer felt his heart race.
âCongratulations on joining the team.â He praised as the two of you walked out of the round table room.
âThank you, Iâve wanted this for so long.â He watched as the smile fell from your face before you shook your head slightly.
âIs everything ok?â He asked, understanding the nerves. He couldnât help but glance down, almost smiling as he saw you picking at your thumb.
âYeah, Iâm just, what if I mess up?â You couldnât help but ask. After wanting this job for as long as you had, all the hard nights and long days spent training you were finally here and youâd be damned if you screwed everything up.
âYou wonât, Hotch wouldnât have hired you if he didnât think you were good enough, trust me. I think youâll be amazing.â He told you, flushing slightly at his own words and the soft smile that replaced the frown on your face.
âThank you Spencer.â You replied softly and before he could respond the rest of the team was calling for the two of you to head to the air strip.
-
On the plane you were properly introduced to everyone as you took a seat next to Spencer, sitting opposite Hotch and Rossi. On the table in front of you Spencer had both a map of the US and a smaller map of Wyoming. You watched his fingers trace invisible lines as his eyebrows knitted together.
You were trying not to stare, really you were, but there was just something about the man that made you want to get to know him.
Thankfully before anyone noticed your eyes glancing at Spencer every few moments, the man himself spoke.
âGuys, if you map out where the five victims were found,â Spencer began, circling three places on the map as he did, âit looks like the victims might have been hiking the continental divide trail.â
âPretty boy, isnât that trail like thousands of miles long?â Morgan asked, watching as Spencer nodded, pushing the little map of Wyoming out of the way for a moment and drawing a line down the map of the US.
âThis is the continental divide trail, itâs 3,300 miles long and itâs actually quite difficult to hike. These people had to have been exceptionally fit and healthy which further backs up the theory that these were blitz attacks. You can go days without seeing other people when hiking the trail and most hikers have to give up because of lack of supplies or needing urgent medical care from injuries and illnesses they attract. A part of the Wyoming part of the trail includes a 120 mile stretch of desert with water sources few and far between.â Spencer rambled and you couldnât help the soft smile, though you did try to hide it behind your hand, glancing away from Rossi when you locked eyes with him and he raised an eyebrow at you.
âSo we have a serial killer and 3,300 miles of potential hunting grounds?â JJ asked.
âSo far he seems to be focusing on Wyoming, which narrows the geographic profile down toâŠâ Spencer paused as he pulled the Wyoming map closer to him, â550 miles.â
âI hope you all brought your hiking boots.â Rossi said as groans filled the jet.
âHello my crime fighters.â Garciaâs voice sounded through the speakers. âHotch, the families of the latest two victims are at the station waiting for you.â
âThank you Garcia,â Hotch replied before turning to the team. âJJ, I want you to come with me to the station and help interview the families. We also need to get ahead of the media on this before they start glorifying the unsub. Reid, since the geographic profile is mostly established, I want you to take Y/L/N and head to the latest crime scene. Dave and Morgan, the two of you head to the second crime scene.â
You and Spencer both shared a look at the news you were travelling to a crime scene that couldnât be driven too. Whilst you managed to pass the FBIâs training and fitness tests you werenât exactly athletically inclined and seeing from the look Spencer was giving you neither was he.
Judging from the chuckles that filled the plane the others had come to the same conclusion that you and Spencer were not going to recover from this trip.
-
You had driven as close to the crime scene as you could get, which was thankfully closer than the one Morgan and Rossi had to go to. It was still a hell of a hike to get to where the unsub had dumped the bodies.
âOk, ok,â Spencer panted, cheeks flushed from the heat. âLetâs take a break.â
âPlease.â You were quick to agree and the two of you sat down heavily on a fallen tree trunk. You had all been warned that you needed supplies, even for a short hike. So you had both been sent out with backpacks filled with water bottles and food. There were other supplies like maps, compasses and first aid kits that you were hoping you wouldnât have to use. Thankfully you had been paired with the man with the eidetic memory because you couldnât read a map to save your life.
After the two of you gulped down some water and caught your breath Spencer spoke up.
âWhy the BAU?â He asked suddenly, causing you to look up in confusion.
âSorry?â You replied.
âYou said you had wanted to join the BAU for a long time, why?â He asked again, not pushing you when you paused.
It wasnât a secret what had happened to your family, Spencer could easily find the information out if he wanted to but you wanted to be the one to tell him. It wasnât a story you liked sharing with people but something about Spencer made you feelâŠsafe.
âWhen I was a kid there was a serial killer but he was in the next state over and we were from a small town so nobody thought to worry and after a while things went quiet so everyone just assumed he stopped, you know? Anyway, one day I went to my friendâs house, it was summer and I was always out with my friends. I was there for a few hours but I was always home in time for dinner except for this day, I ended up losing track of time and headed home an hour late. When I got home, my momma was there in the kitchen. She was covered in blood and I just screamed. The rest of my family didnât make it either. When the police came they said the markings were the same as the victims from the next state over.â You told him, not pausing for breath as you rushed through the story. You watched as his expression fell, his sympathy written on his face.
âIâm so sorry.â He told you and you could hear the sincerity in his tone. You gave him a small smile before continuing.
âI could just never understand why. The thing that kept me up at night was that question: why? Why them? Why did he come here? Why wasnât I home? Why did I deserve to live? I started researching and somehow came across an article about the BAU, from there I knew I wanted to work there.â
âMost people wouldnât be able to come back from something like that, especially at such a young age.â Spencer said, causing you to glance over at him. âTheyâd be so proud of you.â
You couldnât help but let out what sounded like a chuckle and a sob at those words, causing Spencerâs eyes to widen in fear he had upset you further but then you smile brightly and he couldnât help but smile back.
âI like to think so.â You said softly. âYou ready to continue?â You asked, chuckling as he groaned before standing up.
âI hate Hotch.â Was the grumbled response and the laugh he received in return made every sore bone and the aching feet worth it.
-
âWe know that this unsub is a physically fit white male in his mid to late thirties.â Hotch began.
âLooking at the geographical pattern itâs safe to assume that he too is hiking the Continental Divide Trail in search of victims who are isolated from the rest of civilization. He also has no problems taking down two victims.â Spencer continued.
âThe period in between kills is lessening so we should expect to find another body soon, have as many officers as possible on the rest of the trail.â You picked up.
âConsidering the last kill was two days ago, the average person could walk up to 30 miles a day on normal terrain but we have to consider that the terrain out there is harsh so lets say he walks 20 miles a day that gives up a 40 mile radius he could be in. He is guaranteed to stay on the continental divide trail so stop every male you see.â Spencer told the LEOâs and after some more information was shared everyone headed off in different directions, the BAU members heading into the room they had been given to work in.
âY/N,â Hotch said, causing everyone to look over at you.
âYes sir?â You asked, looking up from your laptop.
âYouâre probably the most skilled undercover agent in this room,â He said, causing your cheeks to flush and Spencer couldnât help but smile. âI know this isnât exactly the type of case youâd usually be assigned but perhaps if we send you out there we have a better chance of catching him. This man is impulsive, if he sees you he wonât be able to control himself.â Hotch explained, ignoring the questioning looks he was getting from most of the team.
You, however, relaxed, thankful that you hadnât done something wrong. Undercover work was easy, you were comfortable with it, you knew you were good at it. Obviously you werenât as confident at this part of the job yet, how could you be on your first case, but undercover work? That was your area of expertise.
âOf course sir.â You agreed easily before remembering how fun the small hike to the last crime scene wasâŠyour body would not thank you for signing up for a much longer hike.
âHotch, are you sure thatâs a good idea?â Morgan spoke up causing you to frown. Sure they didnât know you yet but surely your record spoke for itself. âNo offence to you,â he said quickly as he turned to you, âitâs just-â
But before he could finish Hotch cut him off, âI have full faith in Y/L/Nâs abilities.â
You couldnât help feeling a swell of pride at Hotchâs words, a man who you looked up to, a man who barely knew you but was trusting you with so much already. You locked eyes with Spencer who smiled at you reassuringly.
âIâm not doubting the kidâs abilities,â Morgan continued, missing the way you rolled your eyes at being called a kid. âIâm just saying maybe donât send her in on her own on her first case.â
âIâll go with her.â Spencer spoke up before Hotch could argue back.
Your eyes widened at Spencerâs offer, he did just as well as you did on your first outing and now he was offering to put himself through hours more of that for what?
âAre you ok with that, Y/N?â Hotch asked you.
You didnât even hesitate to nod, more than happy for the opportunity to spend time with Spencer Reid.
-
âWeâll be close by the whole time,â Hotch told you as he passed you your backpack filled with supplies, âthe second we hear something, weâll be there.â He assured you and you couldnât help but smile at his concern.
âIâll be fine, sir. This is actually the part of the job Iâm good at.â You laughed, watching as his lip twitched upwards.
âYouâve been a great help in coming up with a profile too.â He assured you and before you could say anything the rest of the team was flooding in.
The plan for you and Spencer to hike up to a specific spot that Spencer had managed to pinpoint the unsub at and set up camp there. From there you would wait and hope for the unsub to appear. The man was impulsive and his need to kill would be overwhelming by now. The two of you were wired up so that if the unsub appeared the rest of the team could step in and help with the arrest.
You and Spencer were dropped off half an hour away from your campsite just so that if the unsub was around he wouldnât suspect anything.
The walk was mostly silent, both you and Spencer focusing on not breaking an ankle on the uneven terrain when Spencer finally spoke up.
âMorgan didnât mean anything insulting.â He told you, causing you to pause before shrugging your shoulders and continuing. When you stayed silent Spencer continued, âheâs just protective but sometimes he isnât really good at showing it and it comes acrossâŠâ
âIt comes across like he thinks I canât do my job despite this being my forte.â You finished with a huff before sighing. âIâm sorry, I justâŠyou canât imagine how many times a male colleague has said I canât do something and then a supervisor has agreed, you donât understand how hard I have to fight to be given assignments and not have somebody constantly berating me.â You ranted.
âPeople look at me like Iâm a child. When I first joined the BAU nobody would take me seriously, without Gideon I donât know what would have happened.â Spencer told you quietly, causing you to frown.
âSo you can understand why itâs so frustrating that someone who doesnât know me didnât even want to give me a chance.â You replied, causing him to nod sadly. âI know he probably didnât mean anything butâŠâ
âYouâve heard that your entire career.â Spencer finished.
âHotch was the first person to give me a chance without any hesitation.â You told him softly, watching as he smiled at that. âThis should be close enough.â You said as you looked around, the place looked similar to the image Spencer had shown the team.
âPlease tell me you know how to put a tent up.â You said, watching as his face twisted.
âI know the theory?â The way his response sounded like a question made you smile as you pulled poles and material out of a bag. The two of you staring down at the mess with matching expressions of confusion.
âNow would be a really good time for the unsub to attack.â He muttered, causing you to laugh loudly. Spencer couldnât help but grin over at you, your cheeks flushing as you caught the expression.
It took longer than either you or Spencer were willing to admit to put the tent up, despite the fact that it wouldnât get used, you had to make it look like the pair of you were really camping. There was a lot of grumbling, many curse words and a cut or two.
There was also a lot of laughter coming from the comms in your ears causing both you and Spencer to roll your eyes.
Once the tent was up, Spencer lay a blanket down outside of it and sat down, gesturing for you to do the same. Miraculously the two of you got a fire started and as the sun set and the night time air chilled you were thankful for it.
âI donât camp but I guess I can see the appeal.â Spencer told you as he titled his head back to look up at the stars. You glanced up too, the sky wasnât totally black yet, more of an inky blue colour and you could see every star on the cloudless night.
It was beautiful and yet you still found your gaze falling back on Spencer.
âYeah, me too.â You replied softly, your voice quiet so as not to break the peacefulness around you.
Somehow the two of you ended up laying down and looking up at the sky, you had a smile on your face that refused to move as Spencerâs hushed voice told you facts about stars.
âIâm glad youâre on the team.â Spencer whispered after a long pause of silence. It took you a moment to register his words before you turned your head, coming face to face with the man.
âMe too.â You whispered back, meaning the words with your entire being.
Just as Spencer went to say something you heard a rustle in the bushes and locked eyes with Spencer who nodded.
The two of you waited, not waiting to disrupt the operation if it just turned out to be an animal, but as you pushed yourself up on your elbow and discreetly looked around you saw a faint outline of a man. He was hidden behind a tree but he was watching the two of you.
âThe hike up here was exactly what we needed.â You told Spencer and through the comms you heard the team moving out.
âYouâre right.â He played along, smiling up at you from his reclined position.
Before you knew what was happening Spencer had his gun out and the unsub grabbed you, placing you in front of him as a human shield. If someone asked you, you would never have been able to recall the events that led to you having a knife held to your neck.
You saw the panicked look in Spencerâs eyes but you couldnât hear his thoughts, they were overwhelming. Thoughts of Maeve passed through his mind as he pleaded with anyone who would listen to let you be ok, he couldnât lose you too. Hell, heâd only known you a few days and yet he knew you were special, he knew he had to have you in his life. If you died nowâŠ
âJust let her go.â Spencer said, keeping his gun trained on the man.
âI let her go, you ship me off to death row.â The man responded, his face close to your face, too close. The smell of his breath had you grimacing.
âIâll make you a deal,â Spencer responded, not even thinking. He just needed to get you away.
âSpenc, what you doing kid?â He heard Morgan through his ear piece but he just shook his head before shooting you a reassuring smile, trying not to focus on the tears in your eyes or the blood on your neck.
âIâm listeninâ.â The unsub replied after a moment of silence, gesturing for Spencer to continue.
âLet her go,â He said, lowering his gun, âI wonât arrest you. You can get a head start before anyone else gets here. Just let her go.â Spencer pleaded.
It was a tense few seconds in which Spencer never took his eyes off you, he hated to see that scared look in your eyes, the fear in them made Spencer ache.
âLet her go.â Spencer said once more and he let out a sigh of relief as you were pushed into his arms.
Just as the unsub ran to leave, you twisted around in Spencerâs arms and drew your own gun, shooting the unsub in the leg. The rest of the team ran in just as the man fell to the ground.
Spencer turned you around so that you were facing him, his hands on your shoulders.
âAre you ok?â He asked, Morgan and Hotch walking over whilst Rossi and JJ dealt with the man.
You didnât respond with words, instead you wrapped your arms around Spencer. He didnât hesitate to wrap his own around you, holding you close as you let the tears slid down your face.
You pulled away abruptly, rubbing your eyes as you did.
âSorry, you donât like to be touched and here I am-â You said but Spencer just cut you off.
âItâs fine, really.â He assured you before his attention turned to your neck. The knife hadnât pierced the skin too badly, there was a small bit of blood where the knife had nicked you when the unsub pressed a bit too hard.
âAre you ok?â He asked again, fingers on your jaw so that he could tilt your face and get a better look.
âSpencer, Iâm fine.â You assured him but that didnât stop him from getting you medical attention the moment you were back in the town.
Spencer watched as you squirmed away from the nurse seeing to you with a soft smile.
There was something about you that made him feel so free, like he could be himself and the thought of losing youâŠhe didnât want to think about it again.
âYou like her.â Derek said as he came to stand next to the younger man.
âThatâs ridiculous, Iâve known her for a few days.â Spencer shot back but he knew his friend was right.
âIf sheâs the right girl, a few days is all you need.â Was Derekâs reply before he walked away, leaving Spencer looking at you with a thoughtful look on his face.
-
The plane ride home was uneventful.
You took the seat next to Spencer again and watched him pull a book out. You couldnât help but glance down at it, your eyebrows knitting together in confusion as you didnât recognise the language.
âItâs Russian.â He told you quietly, not wanting to disturb anyone as they settled in for a long flight.
âYou read Russian?â You asked just as quietly, watching as he smiled bashfully and shrugged before nodding. You glanced down at the pages again before letting out a small yawn. âCan you read to me?â You asked him, smiling as he nodded again.
âOf course,â He said and with that it wasnât long before you fell asleep to the soothing sound of Spencer Reid.
-
âAsk her, man.â Morgan said as both he and Spencer watched you leave the office after finishing your paperwork. Spencer too was done and Morgan assured him heâd make sure Hotch received it.
There was only a brief moment of hesitation before Spencer snatched his satchel up and ran to the elevators, getting there just before they shut on you.
âHey.â He greeted as he stepped in.
âHi.â You smiled, brushing a piece of hair out of your face.
âI was wondering, I mean if you wanted to, of course you donât have to, I was only suggesting but Iâd really like it if you would,â Spencer rambled before cutting himself out with a groaning causing you to giggle.
âAre you asking me out?â You asked, cheeks flushing as you asked.
âIâm trying to,â he told you, âbut Iâm not very good at this.â
âJust ask.â You told him softly.
âWould you like to go out with me?â He asked after taking a deep and calming breath.
âIâd love to.â You grinned, thankful that the man had made a move. You wouldnât have risked asking him on the chance that you were reading him wrong and he didnât like you but thankfully he had taken it into his own hands.
âGood. Great. That, thatâs great.â He repeated, a soft grin spreading across his face causing you to giggle as the doors opened.
The two of you walked out together and there was a moment of awkward silence before Spencer dipped his head down to kiss your cheek, making your blush even more prominent.
You looked so pretty when you blushed, Spencer thought.
âIâll call you.â He promised.
âI hope so.â You replied before heading towards your car, when you turned around you saw Spencer still stood by the doors with a smile still on his face. You giggled to yourself but couldnât stop smiling yourself if you tried.
Spencer Reid was something else and you couldnât wait to learn everything about that wonderful man.

i understand your need for them
and as a member of the thunder-thigh committee, i am happy to write about my fellow sexy women! (another 4:56 am ramble i refuse to delete)
part one
part 2 <3
i mixed this with this ask ; Â Pt. 3 of the thicc af gf with Aone, Osamu, Kyotani, Daichi, Kuguri, and Terushima plz? đ„ș
this got wayyyyyyyyy long
4, 685 words. my finger slipped?
Kuroo tetsuro
this guy has been trying to get you since first year
heâs that dedicated
and you didnât even notice, he was just a flirty friend who helped you with science
(even when he would practically put you in his lap while he went over things)
lo and behold, he finally got his chance during the third year culture festival
yeah as in he waited a whole three years for this
Eh, once again, had a whole pan to make you see him as your great future husband, aka the haunted house (a good excuse to have you hold onto him)
He has to give it to class 2-4, the did a damn good job, it was scary
Long story short you fell on top of him, boobs in face hands-on ass
~heaven~
Mans actually asked you to be his girlfriend right there, groping you and murmuring between your boobs. (he wouldn't have gotten up if the next group wasnât approaching.)
From then on heâd literally do anything for the ass
Heâs a big simp and we all know it.
Like When you wear shorts he has to âpull them downâ aka feel you up while pulling the hem of your shorts down ever so slightly.
Or when he gets on a knee right behind you to âtie his shoeâ, but the school shoes have no laces.
He could be a bit more creative and he wanted to look under your skirt.
When he wants to cut the bull shit heâll just lift the back of your skirt and rub around for a but, to hell with all the other kids in the hallway.
(did I mention that he puts things on the highest shelves so he can walk up behind you and practically dry hump you.)
Speaking of simp nation
You can't really wear anything without setting him off
Shorts drive him absolutely nuts, it's insane. But it isn't his fault that most of your shorts are spandex that cut off right at the beginning of your thighs, it's like a homemade booty lifter. He just canât help but wanting to cop a feel.
Or the color red in general. It is ridiculous, the guy rips everything when he tries to take it off too. So that stunning red cocktail dress with the lace-up sides was not unwearable, and you only had it on for like 2 hours. And that was only because it was a friend's 18th birthday party you were both invited to.
(thanks to kuroo not letting you out of his arms you both were late and left early.)
((in his defense you looked like a full course meal and it was giving him severe blue balls, and heâs only seen you for a few minutes))
Halloween, you know. the one night you could dress up as anything. any you decide to go as a cat-girl in a maid costume. And you expected him to just take that sitting down? Hell no. the red thigh highs AND the corset middle? You're lucky it lasted as long as it did.
That my dear was bravery. His color. A cat. And a short skirt. With thigh highs!
And so, he did what he did all those other times, dragged you to sit on his lap, and opening your thighs, and like a good girl youâll let him
If you could already tell, he gives no shits to whos watching, let âem see (they really never do but you get the point)
Heâs also a prime thigh groper, especially when he wants to keep your legs open, he also loves thigh hic
Terushima Yuji
Another shower-offer
You were already he's so why can't he let everyone know?
Speaking of you being his, he doesn't tell people how you guys donât together, with good reason considering you practically beat him up
Not really but thatâs what he calls it, basically he tried to get with one of your friends at a party.
She just happens to not be interested in men and has a wonderful girlfriend, so she was uncomfortable but couldn't tell him to leave her alone
So you took fate into your own hands, literally, you stole Fate from class 3-2âs drink and poured it on him before slapping him and telling him about how he was a pig.
And he fell in love, you looked like an angel, a really hot angel, it didn't help you were in a white dress either
And from then on he literally once or twice, got on his knees for you, asking to give him a chance.
Honestly, it got annoying, so you just agreed to make it go away. It did, but you also gained a perv of a boyfriend who has an insatiable love for your lower half
Heâs a simple creature, do take caution of his fragile being
So that means all those times you bend over in front of him he was slowly cracking and trying to figure out where the nearest storage closet is.
He thought he was having heart palpitations when he saw you in the damn dress again, apparently, he didn't see all of it. Specifically the v-neck top, and the fact it only went to the end of your ass. Needless to say, he made sure to walk behind you on every staircase that you went on
Another set off is yoga legging, like the lululemon ones, that people wear all the time. They fit you great, really really great. They were supposed to work out in them???? Why were they so skin-tight????? And he also figured out that you wore things because of them. Instant nut.
How you ask, simple.
One time he saw your underwear line through the pants and he pointed them out, they did make it seem like your ass was super soft so he saw his chance and took it.
So the next time you wore them and he didn't see the lines he was like ??????
And thus began the âYuji hunt for lineless underwearâ and he found the thongs
And you received the fucking of your life soon after.
Oh! And thereâs any time you go to the beach. Literally every time.
No cap.
The first time was when you wore a red one-piece and he practically went feral. It wasn't really a one-piece if it was see-through and had the lowest neckline on the planet.
Everyone was looking at you.
He practically fucked you on the beach but held off until you got back to the hotel room.
Heâs way more forward when he wants to fuck, if you could imagine. Heâll just walk up to you and tell you he wants to get some, like right now.
If you can even ignore him, heâll throw an arm around your waist and grope around your legs, all the way to the apex.
It is also not below him to try and get you off while still wearing underwear that he will be taking after.
(i didn't say anything about his stash off orgasm ruined underwear? My bad.)
Sakusa Kiyoomi
Going beyond the fact he even has a girlfriend, yâknow considering, but the fact that no one knew who you were until you showed up at nationals to cheer him on
(atsumu was even starting to think that you didn't exist and that poor kiyoomi just imagined you up, so can imagine his shock when you ran up to said boy after they won)
The whole dating thing wasn't the shocking part; it was the fact that you looked like you walked off of the Milan runway.
And you were wearing leggings and sakusa's jacket, all of a sudden everyone was interested in how that happened
It was a kind of a boring story, someone had spilled coffee in a shop that you both happen to be in
And he watched you offer the man the same disinfectant wipes that he uses!
And in the most sakusa way possible he followed you out of the shop and tried to talk to you.
An exchange of numbers and many awkward conversations (and boners) later, you were a couple.
Back to that hug, like the many others, he's let you have, itâs all just to feel how soft you were
But poor touch -starved sakusa doesn't know what to do with any of these pent up feelings.
And he has a loooooooot of them.
Multiple occasions have shaped the poor germ-boy into the horny-tornado he has become
so heâs not really into what youâre wearing, itâs more about what youâre doing
like when you wore the mask he bought you to one of his games, and you wore one of his alternate uniforms, but the kicker was how you stayed away from everyone and didnât let a single person near you (or his shirt)
or when you helped him clean his dorm when he was doing his weekly deep clean
or when the two of you washed the dishes while trying to do one of those âtry not to singâ challenges
(is it normal to get a boner when your girlfriend helps you clean? no?)
but, as much as he tries to remain emotionless on the subject, there are multiple exceptions to the âitâs not what she wearsâ whole thing
Like that violet puffy skirt, you wore to a study fate, the one with the white sweater? That one, the same one that he could see your panties, from anywhere he sat. and Every time you got up you would have to smooth it down to make the creases go down, but it was only ever really giving him a good idea about the shape of your ass.
(if he sees you in that skirt again heâs just going to fuck you in it)
The lesser-known horny-inducer, since he made you take it off within the first five minutes, was a dress! What kind of dress? A neon yellow see-through mesh dress. The bottom wasnât what got him though, it was the fact that your white bra was clearly seen under the mesh top. Or maybe it was the way the skirt made your waist look super small, and how your hips looked so round and squeezable.
Yeah, no one else could experience you in that.
Not to sound like this, but sakusa is still averse to touch
BUT BUT BUT
That goes out the window when he wants to dance the devil's tango with you.
Mr. His way or no way shows up, Â he does it every so slightly different
If itâs just the two of you, heâll put a hand on your shoulder and heâll push you to your knees. And heâll pet your head and tell you whatâs about to happen and advise you to listen like a good girl.
But in the instance you are in the presence of others, heâll stand behind you and bring you super close to him, ass to dick. (maybe heâll grind into you a bit, just to convince you to follow him) and heâll throw a few words in about how much of a bitch in heat you are for getting turned on in front of all of these people.
Itâs best to just do what he wants before he makes you cum in your underwear.
Daichi Sawamura
oh my
you guys are the power thigh couple
powerful and defined mixed with soft and pillowy
In Fact, thatâs literally how the two of you met, thanks to Tanaka and Nishinoya of course.
(letâs just pretend karasuno has a cheer squad, and you just happened to be the captain of said team)
So basically you were doing a favor for the student council, and you were supposed to ask how many third years, managers included, were on each team and each club in the school
Easy! Turns out not so much. You were still in your cheer practice uniform, which was the shortest spandex ever made, and a Karasuno school t-shirt that was ever so slightly too tight.
Anyway, you make it to the gym and open the door, and the little one, Yachi, saw you and literally screamed. (she was right by the door), and that alerted everyone else in the gym, which led to the bald boy and his short companion pushing you further into the gym.
But in the better sense, it did gain the attention of the captain! Just the exact moment he was in front of you someone pushed; your back and within a second, in some miracle like way, you both ended up on the floor and he ended up planked on top of you with a leg between your spread thighs.
Almost kissing nonetheless.
Then, like the gentleman he was, he got off and asked you if you alright and kneeled down and let you use his shoulder to try and stand back up.
You did get up, for a split second, Daichi still kneeling letting you use him as a step stool when a certain red-head was flung right into you and you went toppling forward.
Onto Daichi.
Onto Daichi's face.
Your thighs around his head.
His hands-on your ass.
Hand in his hair. Â
He could sit there forever, you were frozen, everyone else was frozen.
You eventually climbed off and asked how many third years there were. But he just sat there, his hands hadnât moved either, luckily Suga answered and you were on your way.
And Daichi still didnât move, after that incident, you had begun to see him everywhere, and eventually, he just cut the shit and asked you out.
Daddy Daichi likes seeing you in literally anything from sweatshirts to lingerie.
His favorite was the brown buttoned pencil skirt and the white blouse, that you wore to a date. You were kind of overdressed for the ramen shop and after a walk, but he didn't even care. He was so thrown off by how turned on he was he couldn't speak in full sentences.
An example:
âYeah, the food here is- boob, I-I mean great, not boob, great, yes, great.â
The second.
.
.
.
.
.
Was a bathrobe.
Can you see where I'm going with that? Simply you look hot.
His favorite part of the night was ripping it off of you.
And like the first time you met, he had his head in your thighs <3
Atsumu Miya
You met poor atsumu at a party.
He tried to shoot his shot, yâknow he sees a cute lady heâs just gotta try and show you what you could be getting
he had it all planned, he was going to walk up behind you and run his hands over your delicious curves and ask you if you were in need of any help
he doesnât take into account that a having a random guy just start groping you and pressing himself behind a girl was panic-inducing
so when he dropped your waist, you freaked out and may or may not have punched him in the dick
while he was in a. world of pain you age to figure out what the hell had just happened to you
then you noticed him on the floor, and when he noticed you looking at him he put this forced cocky smirk on and gave you a âhow you doingâ
You took pity on the poor creature and helped him up and got him some ice, then conversed with him for the majority of the rest of the night.
And he just hasn't left you alone since
(and, you learned this far later, that he went so far to tell Sakusa and Kageyama all about you and how amazing you are, and has even sent them- more than one- picture
But in other news, heâs very horny
So really all that means is he always has his hands on you
Like during practice breaks when you're allowed to come down and talk to him for a bit, give him some things, but it normally just consists of him sitting on the bench and you standing in front of him.
While his hands rest on your hips and his face is shoved into the valley between your breasts, and he just sits and listens to you as you brush a hand through his hair.
Or sometimes, if he had been having a rough time, heâll just have his hands under your skirt and heâll feel around for a bit while grumbling about how people cant hit his sets
But for being the possessive bastard he is, he sure likes letting you wear all those outfits
Like the booty shorts and tank top, you wore to bring them food during the summer training camp. That same camp that the two of you disappeared at and he came back looking like he had won the lottery.
Or the cute little red dress you wore to your anniversary date? The one that made him have a hard-on the entire time you were at dinner. He knows the waiter remembers, he also bets the waiter remembers seeing him fucking you in the car when his shift was over.
And that time you wore his jersey to bed and sent him a picture of it. It was such a good picture that he made it his lock screen for everyone to see.
He just likes looking at you tbh.
Aone Takanobu
you guys didnât meet in some weird perverted way, it was actually really cute!
Not to sound creepy but he knew that you were in the garden club because you sat right in front of him in class
And since he didn't talk to anyone else in that class he was just content with listening, and so there he was
Standing outside of the garden club door holding his withering basil plant. Lost.
Lucky for him you were walking down the hallway and greeted him, looking all pretty and cute
You did help him realize that he was overwatering the basil and within a few weeks, it was back to life!
From that first time on, he came to the club room with you twice a week and walked home with you, just listening to all the random plant facts that you had harbored in your mind.
Eventually, with the help of the team, he asked you out, and you hugged him and said yes, and that was the beginning of the âoh god, y/n is way softer than I thoughtâ
So he really just tries to be near you or be touching you at all times Â
(i am also a firm believer that he likes to slow dance to classical music in your living room)
Like during lunch periods when you sit next to him and the second you finish eating hell push you to lean against him
And heâll rub small circles on your hips and give you small innocent gropes
Or how he hugs your waist when you're doing literally anything, and he puts his head on top of your head while swaying
I can also tell you that Aone is a good singer
So he hums to you (I'm uwuing over my own headcanon lol)
He also really likes just running his hands along your body, so he likes when you wear the one-piece dresses so he has smooth sailing down your body
As a man of little words, he clearly has a more physical approach to getting you on the horny train
What I am trying to get at is that more often than not he literally just picks you up and carries you away.
Of course, that leaves you to come back to whatever you were doing.
That is after the cuddles and after sex âconversationsâ about the dumbest things
Basically, he likes to hear you talk and he really likes being near.
Osamu Miya
He knew who you were
With a brother like atsumu, who never shuts up about you, it's hard not to
(Osamu is pretty sure atsumu had a picture of you next to his pillow. ew)
Anyway, the two of you just happened to share the same lunch block, and it also just happens to be the only period block that he was alone
No teammates and no especially close that he could hang out with
That meant he could either study or eat
Had he chose to eat, only to be met with the fact that atsumu had drained both of their lunch accounts for his flavor of the week
Poor baby stood there for a while just processing what was the worst news of his life
When you, a true angel among the evil, said that you would graciously pay for his food so that he didn't outlook so sad anymore
If he wasnât holding an armful of onigiri he would have fallen on his knees and begged to whatever god was out there to let him keep you
But he settled for thanking you and spending the entire period with you, he even offered to share (for the first time in his life)
You complimented him on his flavor choice and he decided to keep you
He made sure to share his recipes with you and you tried to do the same
And somehow that evolved into you guys going on dates, much to atsumuâs distaste, and you guys were totally hitting it off
Osamu was your official biggest fan, he loved everything you do
But that means he wants to stay your biggest fan, and he knows that youïżœïżœre pretty well known for boys thinking not so innocent things about you
Again being brothers with atsumu gave him this little sadistic streak
He lets you wear all of the revealing outfits and the bikinis, all for everyone to see
Everyone to see what belongs to him
Like at sunaâs party he let you wear a black mini-skirt and a white off the shoulder long sleeved flowy shirt.
You looked good, and all the guys staring at you proved that point tenfold. Three guys had come up to you and tried to get you to go upstairs with them. And it was almost immediately shut down when they noticed the act you were sitting on your boyfriend.
Speaking of, he almost always has you in his lap.
Aww, cute! Not, he like grinding you down on him, that's also why he likes having you wear skirts, easy access to your ass, also a nice way to ensure that he could get more than a few gropes in when he wants
No, it's definitely the way he made you wear thigh highs to school one day and the shortest skirt you owned (like a school skirt) and walked behind you the entire day.
And he just reached behind you and lifted your skirt for the whole hallway to see, but mostly for him
He waists no time when he wants to fuck, heâll just walk up to and open your legs while making out with either you or your neck.
And yes he has done that in front of atsumu
Who was warned to stay out of their room for a while.
Not to mention all those times he convince you to go to school with no underwear on just for the fun of it
(I didn't tell you this but those off the shoulder mini dresses drive him wild. On graduation day he pulled into a closet and had his way with you. I mean he did say that if you wore that dress he was going to do it, buuuuuut yâknowâŠ.. yolo)
Kyotani Kentaro
We all know heâs a fighter, which means he gets hurt a lot, which in turn makes him a frequent face in the nurse's office
And who happens to be the nurse's niece? You of course!
And right after school, when your aunt takes her break and leaves you to take care of the office alone
Right after school is also when Kyotani always comes in.
(itâs not like he knew that you would be there alone, and that meant that you had to deal with him and heal him up. And it also is not like he started the fight so he could come here and see you. No not that)
Who am I kidding it was like that.
It was totally like that.
Your hands were just so soft when they put the bandages on and you have to bend down to get the wrapping.
He had a crush, that's what iwaizumi said, and after googling what the symptoms of a crush were he was sure
So with the help of the third years, aka Oikawa just having Iwaizumi repeat what he wanted to say, they had a plan
And the next time he was in the office he asked if you wanted to see a movie with him, it was so cute and he looked so shy
It would have been perfect if after five seconds he tried to take it back, you still went on the date with him though
He was happy.
Angry boy likes hugs
And yes he does, no objections
So when heâs upset heâll make these grabby hands at you and have you come over and stand with him
He shoves his chin on your shoulder and his hands squeezing your waist and youâll rock back and forth until he calms down.
Heâs also very aware of what you wear
Like how your skirt perfectly frames your legs. How the socks you wear make your legs look 10x longer, and make you look like youâre walking like a model.
Or the dark blue leggings you wore with his alternate jersey and you were cheering for him!
But nothing and I mean NOTHING gets him better than when you wear spandex shorts and one of his shirts. He goes feral every time.
This man is the CEO of picking you up and placing you on his lap, straddle style, and just going ham on you
Not to mention that sometimes when heâs really tired heâll have you just sitting on his lap while he plays with your thighs
(he also likes playing with your waist and stomach, but he doesn't realize that heâs talking out loud so you can hear all of the âso softââs he lets out.
Kuguri
You were one of Mika's close friends so you were always just kind of around
It was a little get together that Daishou threw that really made you two close
It was a weird drinking game of sorts, and it had these teams, and you were out as a pair!
Somehow throughout the game, you guys got side-tracked and just ended up talking to each other the rest of the night
Eventually, you were convinced to go on a double date and the rest was history
He didn't even pay attention to what you wore that much until he heard a few rando kids in the locker room talking about it.
And thatâs when he started thinking about just who he was dating
He first realized how round your ass was. Is it normal to look that good in leggings? No one else has ever looked that good to him. With that came his obsession with just touching your butt. He just grabs it or heâll stop you from walking and palm it. Or heâll rub circles into it.
(it's cute how intrigued he is by your butt)
Then came his obsession with your thighs. Mostly the way that they spread out when you sit. He didn't even understand why they were just so mesmerizing. They were so squishy too. He likes how they look in his hands-
Lastly was the waist thing. You aren't even sure what it is. He just likes putting his hands on your waist. Like a prom picture. Sometimes heâll squeeze or run his hands along your sides. But heâs mostly stationary.
He also has this habit of just opening your legs and laying on your stomach.
He is just so into how soft you are.

I REQUEST A SOFT BADBOY DRABBLE WITH SHY READER AND HES TEASING HER BUT SOMEONE ELSE JOIMS IN AND THEYRE DOING IT TO BE MEAN BUT HES LIKE STFU BEFORE I PUMCH UR FACE ONLY IM ALLOWED TO BULLY SHY READER GRR đĄđĄđĄđĄ and soft readers like 0.o but *squeals incoherently* đđđđ
last name, jeon.
drabble week: day two
drabble week masterlist
pairing: badboy!jungkook x shy!reader
wordcount: 3k
glimpse: "can't you tell that i really don't want you to be here?"
notes: a tiny change on the plot!! also: frat boy!jimin from day four makes an appearance :D
feedback + support mean the world to me!!
âdo you wanna form-â
... yes
you DO have an alliance with jungkook
it's a very fair trade honestly
he pretends to be your boyfriend!! there's no specific boundaries to it, but he springs into action as soon as you're put into an inconvenience
in exchange, you whore him out to your friends!!! :D
no but literally that's how he called it
the whole reason this came to be in the first place is because you hATE confrontation with a burning passion
especially when it comes to those "i have a crush on you" moments that people spring on you all of a sudden
you don't like them back!!! that's the truth!!! but the problem is that you aLWAYS feel guilty letting people down
you obviously don't have the obligation to like someone back just because you sit next to them in class :// IT'S JUST IN YOUR NATURE TO FEEL THAT WAY
you wouldn't get into a relationship with said confessor to ease your guilt, clearly
do you plan on denying their advances? yes
but hOW????
you always take the passive-aggressive approach
you get jungkook to carry your bag and hold your hand, walk in front of said person and pretend not to see them, jungkook makes sURE to put some snide eye contact in there aaaaand the whole ordeal is finished :D
you've managed to let someone down slowly without having to speak to them in-person!!!
jungkook comes more handy than that too
you take him when you want to eat out because you're too anxious to eat alone
you take him when you want to go somewhere in which lining up is essential and you're also too anxious to stand by yourself
you take him when you want to go shopping when there's a sale but you're almost always intimidated by the barrage of people and salespeople so he asks and answers the questions for you
jungkook, in hindsight, is the perfect fake boyfriend for you <3
ALSO jungkook wants something from you
"whore me out to the girls from the families your family's friends with, and it's a deal :D"
that alliance and exchange is going pretty well so far
you mAY be on the more-reserved side but that doesn't mean you're self-aware!!!
you know that your parents are loaded and your shy nature could be somehow chalked to that since you didn't really have anyone that wasn't as non-superficial as you'd like, since they were the overprotective helicopter two-rotor seven-blade parents :(((
jungkook, however, is the only constant you have in your formula
you've known him since childhood and have been friends ever since
his mom's your mom's personal assistant, and one day when mrs. jeon couldn't find a babysitter for jungkook, your mom didn't hesitate to let four-year old jungkook come with her to work
jungkook's your fIRST actual friend that hates gold spoons with you because of how tacky they look :-) he's your emotional support person basically
your emotional support person who was sO close to running late from picking you up during his free day >:( you were about to break into a sprint if he arrived a second later, because you managed to spot a jock coming to you from the corner of your eye awhile ago
You Do Not Like Him <3
"and i even changed into a short-sleeved shirt to ward off your suitors. how romantic of me, don't you think?"
now that he mentions it, it's only now when you can drink him in in full-display
... wow
his right arm's the only one with his tattoos while his left's completely blank, but something about the balance just makes you !!!!!!!! even more
his arm's not completely covered but it was coming to be, something about the blank spaces of skin that are yet to be inked being a nice touch
"very romantic, kook."
now tHAT'S the answer he wanted to hear
he forcibly on your helmet for you to showcase, your grunts of annoyance being drowned out by whistling
(he's even looking left and right and making eye contact with anyone who has their eyes landing on you!!!!)
your cheeks smushed is a look he'll never be tired being in awe of, but he'll never tell you that, of course
"do you ever wonder if your parents would kill me if i misplace even a single hair on you?" jungkook thinks out loud and you don't even flinch with how sudden his thoughts could be, sitting on his seat first so it'd already be balanced when you do, "you sure youâre okay riding with me?? on a motorcycle????"
he usually uses yOUR family's vehicles (they let him and insisted he just takes one at this point) but when you called him, he was en route to kim kradle (it's a one-stop vehicle shop apparently) to get new rims for his motorcycle, bUT NOT ANYMORE HE GUESSES????
you come first compared to the booking he's waited on for three weeks
"i have insurance, i think."
no that's the wrong answer
why did you even bother.,,.,
jungkook flicks your nose because your forehead's protected by the helmet, his face contorted in half faux frustration
"you were supposed to be mad at me for asking that â not logical!! don't even joke about that."
"... my life insurance? like, in the instance that i-"
oW THAT HURT
he flicked even harder this time!!!
you roll your eyes at him and it doesn't go unnoticed, a hand outstretching instead of his fingers flexing
âwallet, please.â
????
jungkook's surprised that you even look confused, this time rolling his eyes at you
âyou rolled your eyes at me. you need to bribe me so i wonât rat you out.â
right
he has a never-ending knack for the you're rich jokes
you also know that he likes the cold and would turn the fan on even if it's too hot for a blanket, just because he wants to feel cocooned
you also know that he picks from the fourth row of drinks from the front because it's always been a habit
("the germs cling on to the first row!!!")
you also know that maybe, just maybe, you can't stand it tonight when he's putting himself out there instead of being your faux boyfriend
you keep on zoning out and hoseok, perhaps the only tolerable fellow rich kid you can tolerate within your circle, finally connects the dots in his head and snickers
he's been talking about finding the vintage sneakers he's always wanted on depop and how he almost got scammed for like tWENTY minutes already
in reality, all your nods and scowls aren't towards his story
it's to jungkook and... who's that? jihye whose dad is so colossally shitty, that this one rapper wrote a diss song for him? oh yeah, that jihye
"you like him. like actually 'lose your virginity to him' love him."
WHAT???
there's no way
"how did you-"
"you blush like one."
alright that answer was too quick
hoseok should've ATLEAST tried to wait for a few seconds before answering
"a-and the love part?"
"babe, jungkook may not be the richest one here and that should say a lot," you peer up at him nervously and he actually chuckles, peering to everyone at this function, "dude's humble â he could also just be dense to not see you love him."
okay very true
hobi's making a dig rn at how jungkook coinicidentaally happens to be blonde and maybe this is your cue to leave
hobi does not realize that his hair is aLSO dyed blonde while talking shit about jungkook and his hari
okay this is it
once again, you are NOT listening to hoseok and he's figured out what you're doing by now
you're psyching yourself up with a couple of shots and your heels are digging on the carpeted ballroom
MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY TO BE MORE OUTGOING!!
"pretend to wobble. it doesn't help that nothing can sink you."
oh okay makes sense
if you're gonna try and charm jungkook while trying to play it off as just being tipsy playfulness, atleast make it believable
hoseok snickers because this is just A+ content with the things that you choose to do in your way
shy girl with high alcohol tolerance mannn coming of age film writers would LOVE you ://
you're about to cross the distance between you and jungkook, but something knocks you on your shoulder with a gentle force that seemed intentional
is that-
hold on a second
"what a coincidence :O"
jimin?
jimin???
as in, wholesome yet slightly fuckboy-ish frat guy jimin???
he looks dashing and composed, meeting your eyes perfectly and he doesn't let your confusion startle him
"i know that look. what am i doing here?"
he says it eloquently as if he's practiced it
AND HE DID!!!
you must've looked so shocked that you immediately apologized, shaking your head no
"i-i didnât mean-..."
you're confused, sure, but that doesn't mean you're immediately judging
it's just that you never saw jimin here or any function of the like, but you wouldn't put it past him if he does go to these things!!! he looks like a million dollars anyways
"relax, doll. youâre so far the only other person i know that i've seen in these type of things."
he looks calm and collected, but maybe that's just because he spent the last five minutes waiting for you to stand so he could bump into you
this place is just sO suffocating and a familiar face is gonna be his relief from something so fancy that it became mundane
"have we been in the same event before this?"
"not that i recall, no. i get invited but this is only the first time after awhile that i went."
jimin drinks from his champagne flute, wiggling his eyebrows playfully, "wanna know why i'm here?"
you're curious!!! what can you say!!!!
you never really interacted with jimin at all before this, but a familiar face like his is comforting
because hoseok's already engaged in another conversation and jungkook's,,,, being jungkook and is fawning all over jihye
jimin chuckles at your insistent nodding, leaning closer to whisper to your ear
"my stepdadâs loaded as fuck."
oh so that's why
he tugs you down to sit at the nearest possible empty chairs, all its occupants gone anyways because they're in the dancefloor busting tRULY horrendous moves
maybe it's because jimin feels lonely too like you are, and it's him feeling comfortable because he's pulled you like ten seconds ago and not once asked him anything out of bounds
maybe that's why he fell into conversation with you easily because you're always intently listening
"might love me as a real son too. maybe thatâs a bonus? you donât really expect that shit in the things you see."
this situation is actually pretty cute
you snort because maybe youâre nOT that shy when you drink,, thatâs the only thing that changes in you probably
this whole conversation that sprung from boredom was unknowingly the subject of many stares, including jungkook who you were initially supposed to go to
âyouâre worthy of love, jimin.â
:O
jimin sPITS his drink because where the fuck did THAT come from???
why did you say that and why does he feel that he needed to hear that
âi-i think â i think you need more,â he raises his own glass to your lips hurriedly, caught in surprise but you still gulp nonetheless
âyouâre-â you keep sputtering as he keeps making you drink, but he rubs circles on your back at the same time and it's when you realize that jimin the frat guy may not be that bad, âwhat??? donât think youâre not the only one with daddy issues! shouldnât we have like, a radar for each other?â
jimin snorts at your counter and his eyes crinkle to the point where he can't see anything, not being able to see how you're still trying to recover with all that fizz down your throat
wow ur really enjoyable to talk to
âyouâre insane and i think-â
listen
you're not really big on feeling beyond a sense and all that stuff, but you feel as if the aura around you just got dark all of a sudden
"who are you calling insane?"
jungkook appears at your side in an instant, hands wrapped around your shoulders while you remain seated
you've honestly forgotten that you were supposed to go to jungkook, but you're reminded of that vERY clearly now
"go away, jimin," he mutters through his teeth, looking at him dead in the eye
hold on
wait
THAT'S JIMIN???
okay now he's confused
sometimes jungkook's mouth just moves on its own without loading the thought process
"why are YOU here?"
jimin furrows his brows, shocked that he'd even see jungkook here out of all people
the guy barely even attends classes!!! and that's coming from him!!
"whyâs he here?"
he crouches to your ear, eyes still furrowed at the younger guy
"long story."
nO???
jungkook scowls bitterly because jesus fuck
YOUâRE ON WHISPERING TERMS NOW????
he left for one second, and the moment he comes back, that's when this fucking frat guy approaches you?? was he waiting on him to leave??
you and jungkook only act as a couple when the need arises, and even if you don't feel it, hE feels that this is the need!!! this is the need and it is arising!!!
"get back to uh, alpha bravo charlie or something, park. beat it."
whyâs he reciting the nato phonetic alphabet???
jungkook sounds half-angry and half-sad at the same time, and you don't know which side should you focus on
âmove,â he repeats this time again but more sternly, making jimin much more confused since jungkook's trying to pull him away from his seat
jimin doesn't budge and it makes the frown even more evident in jungkook's face
what is he FEELING
âcanât you tell that i really donât want you to be here?â
âiâm not here for you, though. iâm here for y/n.â
he answers honestly, shis gut telling him that there's definitely something going on between the two of you
ây/n doesnât want you here," kook argues back surely, only noticing your bitten lips now that makes him realize that you're not exactly sober; just a happy kind of rush
he sees you raise your hand timidly, an equally cheeky smile on your face that's only directed to jungkook like it's meant for him
"i-i actually donât mind."
you don't,,,
you don't mind?
HOW'S THAT POSSIBLE
WHAT ARE YOU DOING
why aren't you signaling him to commence the faux boyfriend act!!
"y/n has a boyfriend."
â... iâm not hitting on her.â
alright this is more than the entertainment that jimin wished for lol
âyeah, well she has a boyfriend still so beat it.â
you do??
the last time you checked, jihye's gonna have jungkook as her boyfriend within the night!!
âi don-â
ALRIGHT THEN
jimin decides to indulge jungkook, knocking his knee with yours as he winks slyly, urging you silently to watch on, turning to look at you and ask
âwhatâs your boyfriendâs name?â
you don't answer.
that gives him all the more reason to do so.
âlast name, jeon.â
jungkook looks the most determined you've ever seen him, eyes characteristically angry with his arms across his chest that his suit tightens, âfirst name, me.â
....
......
the three of you know thatâs not the truth
jimin takes it in, sighing when he sense that something else is about to be unfold and he does noT want to be a part of it
not before whispering to your ear again for the last time, of course
âpretty weird name if you ask me,â you laugh automatically, momentarily forgetting that jungkook's standing by you on just your opposite side and could hear you
he leaves and that only leaves you with jungkook, looking up at him as he's too frantic to even sit
âwhat are you doing?â
âbeing a social butterfly," you quip just as fast, drinking your water afterwards
jungkook only clenches his jaw by then, being taken-aback when you speak again
âwho are you doing?â
://
âiâm busy being mad at- wait a minute, WHO???â
who instead of what??
the short-lived enthusiasm you had with jimin left with him, crashing just as hard when you're reminded of jungkook's presence
âjihyeâs a pretty nice girl. you should go home early tonight.â
his brows furrow, trying to get you to look at him but you avoid his gaze insistently, âwhat? what are you talking about?â
âsheâs not my girlfriend though.â
you're not at all satisfied with the answer because it sounds so wrong, knowing that jungkook's a handsome guy and everyone wants to be with him!!!
and he probably wants to be with everyone else besides you.
âthen who-...â
âdonât know yourself anymore? jimin mustâve really swept you off your feet, huh?â
jungkook huffs as he qualifies for a rebutt, your internal wallowing being cut short
âheâs not my boyfriend.â
...
....
âwell would you look at that,â jungkook snickers, sighing through his nose as your eyes finally meet his, directly stubborn yet soft around the edges
âsheâs not my girlfriend, and heâs not your boyfriend. what a coincidence.â
god did he feel so threatened the moment his eyes couldn't find you besides hobi and instead next to jimin, eyes crinkled in laughter without hesitation
have you been chasing after one another this whole time?
jungkook silently grabs you by the hand and you wave no opposition to it
maybe it's your liquor-influenced vision or maybe it's you hyperfixating on such a warm moment, but your eyes immediately lock to see the matching red thread bracelet he wore like yours
you're dressed in next year's spring collection line, and the structured silk black gown that has a train behind it doesn't exactly scream to have a simple red thread bracelet as its accessory according to your mom's designer and everyone else â
but you don't have the heart to take it off
there's no need to take it off
jungkook drives your car and no one says a single thing about anything
his handâs on your thigh and you donât question it, eyes locking into the way his hand looks perfect and the way the bracelet looks meant to be wrapped in his wrist in the first place
you're sure this time that it's not the newfound courage you have, but rather the need to do it
you kiss jungkook's cheek on a red light.
it's on a red light that jungkook realizes he could fit the visage of his world within one hand, finally kissing you like he's always wanted to
âyeah. what a coincidence.â

Contact Comfort
Spencer Reid x (gender neutral) Reader
Word Count: ~2000
Warnings: None, really? Emotional hurt/comfort and sorta like a touch starved deal doing on, but itâs pretty thoroughly fluffy and sugary-sweet.Â
A/N: For the âbed sharingâ square on my @cmbingoâ card!Â
Title is from the referenced psych study, because Iâm a dork.Â
âOne sec,â you call, wincing at how thick and nasal your voice sounds.
You wipe your cheeks hastily as you sit up. Itâll be obvious anyway, though; wouldnât take a profiler to notice your tear tracks and blotchy face.Â
Itâs Spencer. Of course it is â because heâs the last person you want to see you like this, when youâre all snotty and puffy and gross.Â
His eyes go wide and solemn when he sees your face, genuinely distressed. Thereâs that empathy again, the too-big heart that everyone seems to overlook in favor of his big brain. You love him for it.Â
Well, you love him for a lot of things.Â
âHi,â he says quietly. âI was going to just ask if you were okay, but⊠I guess I donât actually need to ask now.âÂ
You let out a watery little chuckle. âGuess not.âÂ
âYou want some company?â He looks hopeful, almost, and then seems to catch himself, dropping his gaze with a shrug. âI understand if you just want your space, though.âÂ
If it was anyone else, you absolutely would not want company right now. But itâs Spencer, so. You pretty much always want him around.Â
âI was just about to turn on some shitty TV because it felt too quiet in here, honestly. Company would be really nice.âÂ
He gives you a quick twitch of a half-smile as he steps past you, and after you close the door, thereâs a pause where you both stand there and look at each other, Spencer suddenly shy as he shifts his weight from one foot to the other.Â
âDo you want to talk about it?â he asks, in a thin unhappy voice.Â
âNot really. Just⊠one of those days. One of those cases.âÂ
âCan I do anything to help?â Â
You hesitate, because it seems like such an immature thing to say out loud, but youâre too tired to be anything other than honest.
âI could use a hug.â Â
Spencerâs expression goes all soft and sweet, and your cheeks feel hot under the drying salt water as he steps closer. He wraps his arms around you, and you bury your face in his chest and try to inhale. Your exhale is a ragged little shudder, and you fist both hands in the back of Spencerâs cardigan as you cling to him, feeling raw and sensitive and so very young.Â
He lets out a quiet, shaky sigh of his own, squeezing you tighter.Â
How long has it been since anybody hugged you like this? Itâs like the contact â the warmth of him â the pressure of his arms around your shoulders â the rise and fall of his chest under your cheek â is lifting some massive weight you never realized you were carrying. All you want in the entire world is to hold him tight, take the comfort while you can, but you know you should pull away.Â
He hesitates for a second before releasing you, like maybe he doesnât want to let go either.Â
Then heâs stepping back, hands in his pockets, slightly pink-cheeked as he bounces on the balls of his feet and gives you one of his frog-faced not-quite-smiles.Â
âYou said something about shitty television?â he asks. âOr maybe we could watch some television thatâs not actually shitty?âÂ
âThat sounds perfect.â
Turns out Planet Earth is on, which is the rare overlap in your and Spencerâs tastes, and itâs not until youâre eagerly toeing off your shoes that you realize the bed is the only seating option.Â
Spencer sits cross-legged, with his elbows on his knees and his chin propped on his fists, and he stays as close to the edge of the bed as physically possible. You lean back against the headboard and hug your knees to your chest, feeling the need to hunch over, like you could physically protect your heart.Â
Then again, itâs much too late for that. You knew your heart was in trouble the moment you met Spencer.Â
Today, especially, you already feel vulnerable, like all your carefully-constructed walls cracked open the second you let yourself cry, and now youâre just ripped-open and bare. You need a good nightâs sleep and a long, hot shower before youâll be able to go about your life as a professional, fully-functional, grown-up human again. Right now youâre just kind of a mess. Â
âI know thereâs the germ thing,â you blurt out, without looking at Spencer. âBut ââÂ
His laugh sounds crackly and nervous, but relieved, like maybe heâd been holding his breath. âCome here.âÂ
You give him a grateful smile as you scoot closer to each other, and apparently youâd been so worried about your own swollen eyes earlier that you hadnât noticed the fatigue evident in every drawn, wan line of his face.Â
Not that he isnât still the most beautiful thing youâve ever seen.Â
You duck tentatively under Spencerâs arm, and itâs not like youâre cuddling, exactly, because thereâs still an inch or so of space between your hips and legs⊠but the bony plane of his chest, between collarbone and heart, makes a surprisingly perfect pillow. You pull the sleeves of your sweater over your hands, tucking them under your chin, curling up.
The moment feels delicate, like a soap bubble that you could burst if you simply breathe too loudly, and you hold yourself stiffly, at first, not wanting to move any closer for fear of pushing a boundary. It feels like youâre glowing at the points where your bodies are touching; the warm weight of his arm feels like bright spring sunshine across your upper back. His palm on the round of your shoulder is thawing away the last chilly bits of your self-consciousness.Â
When the commercial break starts, Spencer says, âDo you ever think about how little physical contact the average single adult experiences on a regular basis?â His voice is quiet and almost sheepish.Â
You smile. âYeah, Iâve considered it.âÂ
âEspecially when we live away from our families,â Spencer says wistfully.Â
You can feel the vibration of his words in his chest. You shift, making yourself more comfortable, feeling dazed and dumb with his proximity.
âThe monkeys. I feel like â you know?âÂ
âHarlow. I know exactly what you mean.â
Trust him to get that from your ridiculously vague mumbling. Â
âExcept theyâre babies,â you add.Â
âThe emotional benefits of physical touch donât decrease just because we get older,â he says softly. âItâs just that the fear of judgement makes it difficult to be honest.â
Thereâs silence for a minute as the show starts again, and David Attenborough says something about sloths. Spencerâs thumb strokes your shoulder gently, back and forth, soothing. Itâs hypnotic, and the tension drains from your muscles, leaving you more relaxed than youâve felt in a long time.Â
âThank you,â he whispers.Â
You swallow hard. âFor what?âÂ
âBeing honest.âÂ
Thereâs no reason for your eyes to be stinging like this, but they are. âI should be thanking you.â
âNothing to thank me for. This is⊠really nice.âÂ
âYeah. It really is.âÂ
Heâs quiet again.Â
Spencer smells like vanilla and old books â although the latter might just be your imagination, something to do with the power of mental association â Spencer could probably explain the science behind that. Your brain has them inextricably linked, though. Youâve caught hints of that smell before, but never up close like this.Â
The softness of the worn knit of his cardigan makes you want to rub your cheek against it like a cat. His arm, skinny as it may be, feels like protection â like youâre safe here.Â
After the brutal violence of the case and the emotional turbulence of the day, this quiet, golden moment is even more breathtakingly peaceful by contrast. It doesnât feel real.Â
Itâs too good to last. This isnât yours. Itâs not going to last, no matter how right it feels, and your chest already aches with the idea of letting him go.   Â
You try to appreciate it while you can, to remember every sensation, but your body is leaden, exhausted down to the bone, completely drained of whatever adrenaline-stubbornness-caffeine combination was keeping you running until now. Spencerâs thumb rubs invisible circles on your shoulder, and he breathes evenly, and you feel safe.Â
Youâre asleep before the next commercial break.Â
A distant car alarm wakes you, sometime later. In the handful of seconds before itâs turned off, you come to without opening your eyes, trying to remember where you are and who youâre with. The smell of vanilla makes you relax instinctively, before you can process why.Â
Spencer has all but melted against you in his sleep, soft and boneless. Heâs got both arms around you now, holding you close, his breath tickling your forehead. Then he stirs, and you can feel the moment he realizes where he is, because his muscles go tense as he freezes.Â
âSorry,â he murmurs hoarsely. Heâs barely audible over the infomercial voices coming from the TV. âI didnât mean to â sorry. Iâll go.âÂ
And before you can think better of it, you whisper, âDonât.âÂ
Heâs still frozen, and silent for a second that feels like an eternity. âYou mean ââ
âI donât want you to leave. Stay.âÂ
Honesty seems to be your default setting tonight, and anyway, you can tell without looking at a clock that itâs long past midnight, well into the early-morning hours where boundaries and reservations and reality donât seem to follow their usual laws. You canât lie to him (or to yourself) right now.Â
Spencerâs voice cracks as he says, âOkay. Iâll just â let me get the light.â
You donât open your eyes as he slips away. This all seems like a dream, and the sharp bright lamp light might make it dissolve around you. You might wake up.Â
The TV goes quiet, and when you tug at the hotel comforter, sliding between cool sheets fully clothed, the barely-there rasp of moving fabric sounds loud in its absence.Â
Spencer turns off the lamp, and you open your eyes. You can just see his shape as he navigates the dark room, negative space on a charcoal backdrop, but as your vision adjusts, you can see a faint suggestion of his features in the blue-black.Â
You feel it, though, when his weight makes the springs of the old mattress dip. Youâd expected him to lie on his back again, but instead his face is just inches from yours when his cheek comes to rest on the pillow. You feel the way heâs breathing, quick and shallow and nervous. You feel your heart kick in your ribs, thudding so loud he must be able to hear it.Â
He reaches out slowly, hooking an arm around your ribs, and pauses with just the very tips of his spidery fingers touching your back, between your shoulder blades: five soft points of contact that you feel so intensely they might as well be electrode pads connecting you to a defibrillator.Â
This is crossing a line, and you both know it.Â
Itâs not a sexual touch, itâs not that sort of thrill going through you, but something about this feels profoundly intimate. That intimacy is almost more shocking than lust mightâve been, and itâs much more dangerous. Itâs the sort of closeness you donât walk away from unscathed. Â
Spencerâs fingers flutter, butterfly-wing delicate, like one or the other of you might be trembling.Â
âAre you sure this is okay?â he whispers.Â
âYes.â Â
Maybe youâre both trembling.Â
His palm comes to rest on your back, easing you closer, and you shift, settle, readjust. He pulls back and tilts his head just long enough to brush his lips over your temple, soft and sweet, before tucking you neatly under his chin, where you fit like you were meant to be there, with your nose nudging at the gap between his collar and the delicate skin of his throat.
âSweet dreams,â he whispers, sounding just as awed as you feel.Â
âSweet dreams, Spencer.âÂ

Flowers In Snow {@sicktember}
AO3 l!nk in comments
Ships: Iris/Phoenix
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Description: Phoenix comes to visit Iris after sheâs released from custody, only to find that the other has fallen ill.
{Sicktember 2022 Day 14: âI Might Be A Teeny Tiny Bit Sick, But Itâs Fine.â}
The cold air had finally gotten to her. To be fair, Iris had done a pretty good job up till now of not getting sick from the cold weather. She suspected that with all the stress lately, she was a touch more susceptible to it all. She also hadnât expected that when she got home, a certain defense attorney would show up to see her not even a day later.
Iris gave a soft sneeze into her handkerchief as Sister Bikini walked in.
âOh, Iris!â she called with a bouncing smile. âLook who came all the way here just to visit you!â
Iris looked up at the sisterâs words to see him walk in behind. He was wearing the sweater she made him all those years ago under a large overcoat.
Phoenix gave a half wave and smiled. âHey,â he greeted, almost anxiously.
Iris stood and fully turned to him. âFe- ah. Mr. Wright. I didnât know you were coming.â
He stepped closer and rubbed at the back of his neck. âPhoenix is fine. And yeah I, honestly I wanted to come see you when you were released but I was busy. I hope itâs okay that I dropped by today?â
âOf course it is!â she called back suddenly. âI-I mean, itâs always nice to see you⊠Phoenix.â
They both looked at each other with matching, shy smiles. The moment was broken by another sneeze coming from Iris. Followed by another, and then a third.
Phoenix reached out a hand to her and asked, âAre you alright?â
âIâm fine,â she assured after blowing out her nose. âI, well, I might be just a teeny tiny bit sick,â she chuckles nervously, âbut Iâm fine! Really.â
Phoenix frowned at that. âMaybe you should go lie down.â
âBut you just got here,â Iris replied. âI donât want to make your trip pointless just because I have a- a-â her words broke with another sneeze, âa cold.â
âI came to see you. And as long as I do that, I wouldnât count this trip as pointless,â Phoenix argued. âBesides, you used to take care of me all the time when I got sick. This time I can return the favor.â
Irisâ face was already red from her steadily growing fever. Though she was sure if it werenât a blush would be seen dusted over her cheeks at the words. âThatâs very kind of you,â she replied.
Iris led Phoenix to her room, making sure that they grabbed anything they might need on the way. Once they arrived she sat and laid back on her bed, sitting up so she could still converse with the other freely.
Phoenix started by gently taking the sides of her hood in his hands. âMay I?â He questioned. After Iris gave a nod of approval, he pulled it down, making sure to also pull her hair free so that she would be more comfortable.
He rested the back of his hand against her forehead, checking her fever. Iris practically bit at the inside of her cheek to keep herself from pushing closer. His hand was perfectly cool on her heated face. Each callus and rough line paired with his soft and gentle touch was all so achingly familiar and beautifully new. Time may heal wounds, but there truly are just some things that may never go away.
When he pulled away Iris tried not to frown. However, happy that his hands came back with a cool rag, gently running it over her face and around her neck. Each soothing motion threatened to lull her to sleep. Unfortunately, she was pulled out of her bliss as she jerked away from the other to let out another sequence of harsh sneezes.
She looked back up to Phoenixâs startled gaze and mumbled out an apology.
He only chuckled and waved it away. âDonât worry about it. Best to sneeze out all the sick right?â
Iris giggled. âIâm not sure thatâs how it works.â
âOf course it is,â Phoenix replied as he put the rag back to her face. âYou sneeze out all the germs and then youâre better.â
Irisâ giggling only continued till finally she sighed. âWhen we met again, I was so afraid that you had completely changed,â she admitted. âI wouldnât have blamed you if you did. It makes me happy to know I was wrong. Youâre still the same Phoenix, in all the best ways.â
Phoenix couldnât respond right away. Or even at all, really. His mouth agape in surprise at her words as a faint flush grew over his face. His eyes flicked between her own before flicking down to her lips for a moment and then turning away completely. He momentarily hoped she hadnât noticed.
She did.
Iris took his cheek in her hand and pulled his face back to her. Her motions were slow enough to give the other time to pull back if he so desired. He didnât. He let her pull his lips against her own into a kiss.
Iris pulled away before he could really do anything in response. âIâm sorry. I shouldnât have done that. Iâll get you sick.â
âI donât mind being sick,â Phoenix pushed out suddenly. âI get sick all the time.â
She could only chuckle at his reaction. It was sweet. A little ridiculous, but endearing. That seemed to be just how the other was.
When she moved to pull him into another kiss, it seemed he had the same idea as they quickly met back in the middle.
As Phoenix deepened the kiss with his tongue, Iris practically felt her head spinning. She forgot he was like this. The almost instinctual way that Phoenix would practically worship every part of her that he ever touched. They never did much back when they dated. An unfortunate mix of Irisâ own anxieties of her lie and Phoenixâs, at the time, inability to push or even gently propose any idea that she didnât initiate herself.
But now, both of them were older, wiser. There were no lies lingering over them dangerously. No anxieties kept them from leaning into whatever it was that they wanted.
Unfortunately, what Iris needed at that moment was to pull away. It seemed the spinning of her head wasnât just from her emotions but, more accurately, the fever. It must have shown on her face. Phoenix gave her a worried look and asked, âAre you alright?â
She nodded but still put a hand to her head. âFine. I just got a bit dizzy.â
âAh! Sorry,â he mumbled out, almost ashamed. âYou should try to rest.â
Iris allowed herself to be laid back in bed. She tried not to laugh at the otherâs reactions, not wanting to embarrass him further. âWill you⊠stay a little longer?â She finally asked.
Phoenix nodded with a smile. âIâll be here when you wake up.â
With that promise, she let herself drift off to sleep.

Chapter 12: Lost
[prev] [next]
[masterlist] [kiaâs slambook]
warnings: mentions of sex
You and Kia prepare for your trip, waiting for Akaashi. He mentioned about picking you up since Bokuto lent him his car. You remember about the card Sakusa told you about.
You go to his room, making sure you donât touch anything, and see that there are two bedside tables. You checked the one on the left first. You open the drawers and see boxes of condoms, some opened, some still new. You close it and go to the other table to get the card.
Something in you says to go check the other drawer again, but it would make you feel guilty. You hear Akaashiâs car honk so you go out instead. You take Kia from the couch and leave the house.
âDid he date someone in the last 3 years?â The thought is bothering you and Akaashi notices. âAre you okay?â
âYeah,â you reply, smiling. He carries Kia and puts Kia in the safety seat of the car. He returns to the driverâs seat while you sit on the shotgun seat.
You continue to think about what you saw. You broke up. So what if he had a girlfriend? You have no right to dig in your nose into his business. Why are you so upset about him having sex with other women? Heâs a grown man. He has his needs.
âYouâre spacing out,â Akaashi points out. You shake the thoughts off your mind and stare out of the window. You groan, the thoughts coming back in again. âSpill it.â So you do. You tell him about what you saw. âWhy are you so upset? So what if he had sex with someone? You broke up with him, remember?â
âExactly why Iâm bothered!â You cover your face with your hands in frustration.
âIf youâre so bothered, why donât you ask him about it later?â Akaashi suggests, his eyes on the road. You sigh, nodding.
You three arrive at the theme park and suddenly you feel at ease to be outside again. Kia starts running, but luckily, Akaashi has long legs. He easily keeps up with her. You make your way to the booth, while Akaashi carries Kia around to look at some figurines by the entrance.
After you successfully retrieve your reservation tickets, you enter the theme park. Despite being a weekday, itâs still packed with tourists. There are also students in uniforms, probably in a school trip.
âMama! Look! Robot!â Kia points to the Bumblee Bee statue. Akaashi puts her down and she runs to the statue. The figure starts speaking and Kiaâs mouth hangs wide open in amazement. âIt talks! Mama! Keikei! It talks!â
You continue to walk around the theme park, stopping on shops and stalls from time to time. While Akaashi excuses himself to go the toilet, you see an ice cream food stall and Kia immediately asks you to buy some for her. You take her to the stall and carry her so she can choose a flavor.
âThat would be 600 yen,â the shopkeeper tells you. You put Kia down to take money out of your wallet. You pay for the ice cream. The employee gives you the treat and when you look down, Kia isnât by your side anymore. âKia?â
You go around the stall, in hopes that Kia just took a look somewhere near. You search and search but you donât see any sign of your daughter. Akaashi comes back and sees you getting antsy.
âWhereâs Kia?â
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âTake a good rest, boys. Weâll be back to practice next week. Enjoy your free time because we wonât be having any left after this. Cool down and you may leave,â the MSBY Black Jackals coach announces. The players thank him and say their good byes.
âTraining ended earlier than I thought,â Atsumu sighs in relief. âIâm so excited to go home and be in the comfort of my bed.â
âWanna go to the gym together this Saturday, Bokuto-san?â Hinata asks the older player as they start stretching.
âIf I donât have anything to do,â Bokuto replies.
âIsnât Akaashi in town?â Sakusa speaks, stretching his wrists. Bokutoâs attention gets stuck on the other spikerâs wrists and he forgets to respond. âHey.â
âOh, yeah. Akaashi is in town. Howâd you know?â Bokuto eyes the curly haired man in suspicion.
â(Y/N) told me. Theyâre in Universal today,â Sakusa explains.
âOmi, youâre okay with Kia going to crowded places that is surely full of other peopleâs germs?â The blonde questions, stretching his legs.
âDo you really think I expect her to grow up like me?â Sakusa rolls his eyes, stretching his back this time. âGerms can be washed away. They can get disinfected. Itâs nothing compared to Kiaâs upbringing. I donât have plans to raise her to be clean, I want her to grow up to be someone who she wants to be.â
Atsumu smiles because of his teammateâs response. Not long ago, he would think of Kia as some sort of hindrance, but now he seems happy that sheâs around. The blonde also noticed how Sakusa is gradually becoming more soft with his words and actions.
They finish stretching and go back to their dorms. Sakusa is packing his things when he suddenly feels anxious. He canât think straight. He feels something bad is about to come. He opens his door and check the hallway. âMiyaâs not here. If itâs not him, what could it be?â
Sakusa goes back into his room, hearing his phone ring. He sees Kiaâs contact name and answers quickly.
âWhat is it Kia?â
âKyo... I lost mama,â Kia cries on the other line.
That tone. That way she said it. The feel. Itâs too similar with your words 3 years ago.
âOmi... Letâs break up.â
âWhat? Where are you right now?â Kiyoomi runs out of the dorms. Adrenaline kicking in as he hears Kiaâs sobs.
âWhy? Letâs talk about it. Iâm coming over.â
âI see a dinosaur,â Kia responds, worry and panic in her voice.
âI just donât see a future for us, Omi.â
âDonât end the call, okay?â Kiyoomi says softly despite his worries. He hears Kia crying again. He starts his car and connects his phone to the bluetooth of his car. âHey, stop crying. Iâm on my way. Just stay wherever you are.â He doesnât get respond so he speeds up his driving. âKia? Baby?â
âIs it something I did? Tell me! Donât just ignore me, (Y/N).â
âOkay. Iâll wait for you.â
âIâm sorry, Sakusa. But I canât do this anymore.â
Kiyoomiâs sports car has never been put into good use until now. He arrives in the theme park in top speed record. Luckily, there isnât a queue on the booths so he gets a ticket promptly.
âKia?â He puts his phone close to his ear, looking at the themeâs park map. âAre you still near the dinosaurs?â
âYouâre joking, right? Tell me this is a prank.â
âYes. Kia stayed here like you told me,â Kia responds, already calmed down. Kiyoomi rushes to the Jurassic Park area and looks for her in every corner. But Kia couldnât explain her exact location well. He spots a kid and calls him.
âNo. This isnât a joke.â
âHave you seen this child?â He shows the back of his phone to the boy. The boy nods.
âYes. Sheâs sitting near the entrance of the restaurant,â the boy answers. Before Kiyoomi could thank him, the boy recognizes him. âArenât you Sakusa Kiyoomi? Iâm a big fan of your team!â
âAh, thanks. Come to my next game, okay? Iâll give you a jersey.â Kiyoomi leaves him and goes to where the kid directed.
Kiyoomi spots her and his steps become bigger and his pace becomes faster. Kia sees him so she climbs down of the bench she is sitting on and runs to meet Kiyoomi halfway. He takes her into his arms, tightly hugging her. He feels her wrap her arms around him, and his heart starts breaking into pieces.
â(Y/N), I know youâre still in there. Whatever it is, letâs work it out,â Kiyoomi shouted from outside of your apartmentâs door. Heâs been sitting there for hours now. He leaned his back on your door, his knees close to his chest.
Did you really leave?
Were you not coming back?
There are a lot of words he had yet to tell you. He wanted to see you two accomplish your dreams together. He wanted to wake up and the first thing he sees is your face. He wanted to come home and receive your hugs as soon as he steps into the door. He wanted to see you walk down the aisle. He wanted to grow old with you. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. You were all he wanted.
He regretted not hugging you tighter. He regretted not kissing you more. He regretted not spending a lot with you. If only he could do all those things one more time.
âI love you...â He cried. You always said those three words first. Why werenât you responding?
Heâs too late.
He had already lost you.
"Kyo, why are you crying?â Kia asks him, her small hands on his cheeks. She starts tearing up, sad that heâs crying. He doesnât even know heâs crying. His thoughts is too full of fear and anxiety.
There are still a lot of lessons about life he wants to teach Kia. He wants to see her accomplish her dreams. He wants to drop her off to school. He wants to receive her hugs as he comes home from practice. He wants to see her fall in love with someone who loves her just as much as she does. He wants to see Kia grow. He wants her to see him as her father for the rest of her life.
He regrets not hugging her tight enough. He regrets not kissing her good morning and good night. He regrets not spending time with her. He regrets not being there from the start.
What if he was too late?
What if he didnât answer her call?
What if he lost her?
âKyo? Are you mad?â Kiaâs lower lip is quivering, tears already coming out of her eyes.
âKia..â he calls her. She pulls away from his hand and looks at him.
âYes?â Kiaâs voice is shaky. Sheâs afraid heâll scold her. She promised to be a good girl. What if he hates her?
Kiyoomi takes a look at her face. He caresses her cheek with his thumb, then plants a kiss on her forehead. âBut Iâm not too late this time. So Iâll make sure I wonât regret anything. I will never lose the two of you again.â
âI love you.â
âI love you, too.â

What It Means to Love, 3k
established dean/cas, hurt/comfort, post 15x20, human!cas
day 2 of @thiscastielhasflown and i's follower celebration
prompt: hurt/comfort
âDean, I am perfectly fine, Iââ Cas paused, face scrunching up, then he sneezed before he could finish his sentence.
Dean took a step backwards. âDude, gross! Seriously? Sneeze into your elbow. Thatâs like preschool 101.â
âOh, then itâs so great that I went to preschool,â Cas said, managing to sound sarcastic even with his nose stuffed up. Dean winced as he wiped his nose on the sleeve of his trenchcoat. âItâs not like I havenât been a human for only three months.â
Right. âYeah, well, guess this is the perfect introduction." How the hell did Cas manage to still look so adorable slumped against the kitchen counter, clothes wrinkled and nose red? âWelcome to humanity, you have a cold. Here, stop that.â He couldn't watch Cas wipe his nose on his sleeve again. They didnât have tissues in the kitchen, but he grabbed a napkin and handed it to him. Dutifully, Cas took it and blew his nose. âWhat you need is to get in some comfier clothes, lay down, and get some sleep.â
Violating the few feet he'd put between them to stay clear of the germs, he stepped closer to loosen Cas' tie. Cas let him, saying, "I can still help researchâ"
"No, no." Cas leveled him with a glare, but it had lost its bite now that Dean knew he couldn't strike him dead with his angel grace. Okay, it was still pretty menacing. "I'm trying to save your ass. Sam will kill you if you sneeze on his laptop or precious books. Come on, take off the coat, you gotta be burning up."
He was helping Cas slip it off when Sam walked into the kitchen. âEw, gross," he complained, covering his eyes with his hand, and Dean realized he was essentially undressing Cas in front of the kitchen island. "Get a room."
"Grow up," Dean said, draping Cas' coat and tie over his arm. Okay, so maybe theyâd given Sam a reason to be on-guard now, but, "It's not what it looks like."
Sam lowered his hand, then frowned at Cas. "Woah. What happened to you?"
"I'm sick," Cas answered, as if that wasn't obvious enough by his glassy eyes and disheveled appearance.
"Well, uh, wash your hands," Sam said, stepping back as Cas started for the door, Dean following. "Don't wanna spread any germs. And try to stay out of the library."
"Told you," Dean whispered to Cas as they went down the hallway. In their room, he gestured for Cas to sit on the bed as he rummaged through their dresser. âT-shirt and sweatpants,â he said, handing them over.
Cas unbuttoned his white button-down which was identical to the dress shirts he always wore as an angel. Apparently old habits died hardâin this case, an affinity for business casual. Actually, maybe Cas getting sick and out of his old clothes was a good thing. Dean didn't know the last time the trenchcoat had been washed.
Collecting Cas' shirt and pants, he said, âIâll get rid of these disease-ridden clothes.â He thought he caught Cas rolling his eyes as he pulled Deanâs sweatshirt over his head. "You watch TV or something, Iâll go see if we have cold medicine.â
After starting a load of laundry and raiding the medicine cabinets in the bathroom and cabinets in the kitchen, he returned to the room to find Cas sitting cross-legged under the covers of the bed, remote in his hands.
âHere, you go,â Dean said, handing over a warm mug. Ancient Aliens played on the TV; one of Cas' favorite pastimes was refuting every crazy claim and theory the show presented with his own recollections of the ancient times. âSam said this tea will help. He ran out to get some medicine.â
Eagerly, Cas took the mug from him and took a large gulp, then coughed. "Ow. It's hot."
"Drink it slowly, idiot."
Cas took a more hesitant sip, then squinted up at him. "This tea is incredibly flavorless."
Dean snorted. "âCause your noseâs clogged up. And you probably burned your tongue. Another joy of being human."
Groaning, Cas dropped his head back on the pillows and stared at the ceiling. "Why is being human so difficult?"
Dean inwardly winced at that. Or thought he did so inwardly, but his expression must've revealed something because Cas glanced over at him, then straightened up, nearly spilling his tea. "Dean, I didn't mean anything by that."
Clearing his throat, Dean shrugged and sat down on the other side of the bed. "No, it's fine. You're right, being human sucks."
"And I wouldn't trade it for the world," Cas said.
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
Cas seemed about to say more, but then he sneezed. Into his elbow this time. Progress.
Ancient Aliens finished, and they got halfway through an episode of UFO Hunters before Cas started to nod off. Dean took the mug from him, and his eyes fluttered open, head jerking up. "I'm fine," he said.
"I know you're tired because you missed them saying aliens created the lost city of Atlantis."
Cas sniffled. "That's ridiculous. Everyone knows Atlantis was formed byâ" He was interrupted by a yawn, and Dean made a mental note to return to that subject later.
âCome on, take a nap.â
âI am not a small child, Dean,â Cas protested, but he settled down anyway. Dean couldnât resist adjusting the covers, essentially tucking him in. He wasnât trying to baby him, but it was second nature seeing how miserable the guy looked. Turning off the lights, he went to the door. "You good? Need anything else?"
"No." Cas squinted one eye open to look at Dean over the blanket pulled up to his shoulders, and, fuck, if he wasn't still the most beautiful man Dean had ever seen, even sick as a dog. "Thank you."
A tiny alarm went off in Dean's brain about germs, but he returned to the bed to kiss Cas on the forehead anyway. True love, and all that. God, he was getting sappy in his old age.
Cas looked marginally better when he woke up from his nap. If marginally better meant pillow hair and pillow lines on his cheek. Well-rested, at least. He swallowed down the cold medicine Sam had brought home, complaining that he could taste enough to know the flavor was not, quote, "similar to anything occurring organically in nature."
"Whaddya wanna eat?" Dean asked him as he drained his glass of water. "And don't say PB and J," he added before Cas could speak.
Cas set his glass down on the nightstand and slid further down under the covers. "Anything that won't make my throat hurt more."
"My, uh, mom used to make me soup when I was sick."
"That sounds wonderful."
"Whatcha making?" Sam asked, coming into the kitchen. He lifted the lid of the pot on the stove and Dean snapped him with the towel.
"That's for Cas, back off."
"Wow," Sam said, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms. "Look at you."
"Look at me what?" Setting aside the pot lid, he scraped the celery he'd been dicing from the cutting board into the pot.
Sam shrugged. "Taking care of Cas, making dinner, you're almost domestic."
Dean turned red and scrambled furiously for a comeback. "Yeah, and you're, you're still a little shit." Nailed it.
Sam laughed. "Wasn't an insult. Just meant, I don't know. Different for you, I guess."
Dean eyed him, stirring the soup. "Don't have much of a choice. Poor guy just turned human and he's already going through it."
"I think he's dealt with worse than a cold before."
"Yeah, well, wish he didn't have to deal with any of it." Any of it meant plenty. Between Deanâs own fuckups, world apocalypses, and near-death and actual death experiences, Cas had been through the ringer several times over. And now he was humanâwhich, by all counts, wasnât the worst thing heâd been through, but it wasnât ideal. Itâd been a rough transition, anyway.
Cas seemed better recently, though, since getting somewhat used to being human. And things were going well between them. Getting sick was just one tiny wrinkle compared to everything theyâd been through, right?
He stared at the soup and startled when Sam straightened off the counter with a comment that Jack was out with friends, he was leaving for Eileenâs, have fun giving Cas a sponge bath. Dean flipped him off as he headed out the door.
When the soup was finished, he ladled a bowl full and returned to the bedroom. Cas looked up from his phone when Dean entered with the bowl of steaming soup. âHear from Claire?â Dean asked, nudging the door shut with his foot.
âShe says she and Kaia have almost closed up the case." He set his phone aside. âTheyâll be able to visit soon.â
âYou tell her youâre sick?â
âShe was incredibly non-sympatheticâthank you." Cas took the bowl from him. âShe seemed to find it amusing that I once ruled garrisons and now canât go five minutes without sneezing.â
Dean tensed, hoping Cas wasnât hurt by the comparison, but Cas didnât look offended. âSounds like her.â
"Yes.â He breathed in the steam coming from the bowl. âThis smells incredible.â
"Family recipe," Dean joked, sitting down next to him. "Well, someone's family. Straight from some blog online. Think it's pretty close to what my mom would make." He watched Cas pick up his spoon, and added, "Don't tell Sam." He'd never hear the end of it if Sam knew he was reading mommy blogs.
"Your secret is safe with me."
Dean picked up the remote as Cas ate, wondering if he should give Claire a piece of his mind. Sure, Cas was pretty easy-going about the whole giving up his grace thing, but no need to rub it in his face. Becoming human had to feel pretty pitiful after ages of being an angel.
He was trying to make it better where he could, though. âYou wanna watch a movie tonight? I'll let you pick because you're bedridden."
"I am not," Cas protested, though he looked more than a little pleased at the idea of getting to choose. Dean braced himself for whatever ridiculous romance or musical Cas insisted on watching nowâto date, he'd been subjected to La La Land , the ending of which had reduced Cas to tears for the rest of the night; Pride and Prejudice, okay not too bad, though he'd never admit it; and Youâve Got Mail, dammit not bad enough for him to hate either.
Instead of suggesting a movie, though, Cas said, "You're very caring, Dean."
"Uh." Dean turned from cycling through the movie options on the TV to look at Cas. He felt himself turn red under the look Cas was giving him, head tilted, that fond almost-smile he got. "Yeah, uh. What I do."
"Yes," Cas agreed. "It is what you do. You're very good at taking care of others."
"Oh, God, don't start that." By that, he meant the long compliments Cas so shamelessly gave him now, like he'd been storing them up for a long time and was finally able to hand them out. It was like the dam had broken that night when Billie and the Emptyâ
But he didn't want to think about that. Not when all the events since that day had led to Cas now sitting in bed blowing his nose, the trashcan by the bed overflowing with tissues. Poor bastard; he'd gone through one whole Kleenex box already.
"I'm only going to stop because talking hurts too much," Cas told him, tossing a tissue at the trashcan and missing sorely. Dean grimaced.
They nearly got through Mama Mia before Cas dozed off, head resting on Deanâs shoulder. It wasnât the most comfortable position and Deanâs arm was half-asleep, but he refused to move. The mere fact that they were sitting together in bed, pressed against each other, was still enough to send him into shock anytime he thought about it too much. Casâa literal former angelâhad fallen in love with him. It was almost too good to be true.
But Cas was currently slumped against him, drooling on his shoulder, so he guessed it really was true.
As the credits rolled, he turned off the TV and touched Casâ forehead with the back of his hand. Not as warm as before. At his touch, Cas blinked awake.
âItâs over already?â
âWhaddya mean, already? I just had to sit through two hours of singing and dancing.â It hadnât been that torturous, but he couldnât admit thatâhe had a reputation to uphold. Straightening, Cas rolled his eyes. âFeel any better?"
Casâ expression turned thoughtful, as if taking stock of every physical sensation in his body, and Dean had to grin at his seriousness. He nodded. "Yes."
"Great.â He glanced at the time on the clock and realized it was later than heâd expected. âYou probably wanna get some rest.â
Cas nodded with a yawn. "You don't have to sleep here if you don't want to."
Dean froze in the middle of pulling back the covers, mind immediately spinning out. "What?" They'd only started sharing a room a month ago, oh God, he'd known it was too good to be true, Cas was sick of himâ
"I want you to," Cas said quickly, as if sensing Dean's downward spiraling. "I just don't want you to get sick."
Oh. Oh. Feeling a little sheepish for immediately jumping to the worst conclusionsâone of his greatest talents, if he did say so himselfâhe shook his head. "Nah, I have a great immune system."
Cas' expression turned guilty and Dean narrowed his eyes. "What?"
"About that..." Cas started slowly. Dean gave him a look. "Well, uh... Your immune system isn't quite as healthy as you think. I've been giving it a boost for the past several years, every time you started to get sick."
"What?" Looking back, it was pretty remarkable that he'd never gotten even a common cold with all the other shit they dealt with. "Fuck."
"Sorry."
"No, don't apologize. I should be thanking you. So, uh. Thanks."
"You're welcome."
Of course Cas had been taking care of him for years, Dean thought, when they settled in bed and he turned off the lights. Cas told him he was caring, but it was Cas who was the caring one. Heâd sacrificed his life for him, for Christâs sake. Then gave up his grace to return to Earth because he wanted to be with Dean and Jack and Sam and everyone. The guy didnât have a selfish bone in his body.
The thought shouldâve been a comforting one, but instead he felt antsy, unable to stay still, shifting under the blankets.
Turning onto his side, he nudged Cas, whose eyes had fallen shut. With a grunt, Cas opened his eyes and looked over at him.
âYou alright?â Dean asked, which wasnât really what he wanted to say, but he wasnât sure how to say it.
âI was when I was falling asleep,â Cas grumbled. But he shifted to face Dean. In the faint light coming from the bunker hallway, Dean could see the concern in his eyes. It sent a pang through him. Cas had given up so much, and Dean was doing all he could to make sure he never regretted it, and Cas told him all the time that he was content with his choice, but still the worry sat heavy in his stomach.
"Listen,â he started. âI just wanna let you know that being human isnât all bad. I swear it wonât be miserable forever. I know you've been introduced to the bad shit first, butâ"
"That's not true," Cas interrupted, touching Deanâs hand resting between them. Dean raised an eyebrow. "Dean, being human has been the single most rewarding experience in my entire life second only to raising Jack. It started with you rescuing me from the Empty and revealing my feelings weren't unreciprocated like I thought. I would say that's far from miserable.â
"Yeah, but you had to adjust to living without your grace, and eating food, and getting sick..."
"It's been difficult, yes. I won't lie and say I enjoy bodily functions or sneezing or headaches. But I do enjoy being with you and eating chicken soup and watching absurd TV shows. I wouldn't change this for anything. Whatever happened in our lives, it led us here. And Iâm happy with where we are.â He studied Dean for a moment before asking, quieter, âAre you happy?â
âYes, yeah, of course,â Dean hastened to say, because it was true. Fuck, it couldnât be truer. âOf course. Just feel bad, I guess. That you gave up your grace and all that. Feel like Iâve hardly done anything.â
Castielâs expression softened. âYouâve given me more than I couldâve ever dreamt of. And anyway, itâs not a competition, Dean. I take care of you, you take care of me. Thatâs what love is.â
Throwing that word around, love, still made Deanâs heart skip a beat. But it was true. He loved Cas and heâd do anything for him. The same, he knew, was true on Casâ end.
Cas said it best, so he settled for lifting Casâ hand and kissing his knuckles.
âI would kiss you," Cas said, smiling, "but I donât want to get you sick.â
âScrew it," Dean said, and propped himself up on an elbow to kiss him. Then he shifted, turning over and pulling Casâ arm to wrap around him. Even if the bastard was sick, Dean was making him be the big spoon.
"For the record,â he said, feeling Cas curl around him. âI wouldn't change anything either."
And he meant it. Even when he woke up the next morning with a sore throat and stuffed up nose. Casâwho seemed to have gotten over the worst of his coldâtook only one look at him before declaring it was his turn to play doctor, throwing extra blankets at him and demanding the chicken soup recipe in a flurry of activity.
Heâd take care of Cas, and Cas would take care of him. It sounded like a good life, Dean thought, settling back against the pillows with a smile. He wouldn't change a thing.

Lost at Sea
Single Dad Spencer x fem reader
Summary: This is kind of a little Christmas-adjacent fluff peice where Spencer is a single dad, completely clueless while Christmas shopping for his daughter. Reader sees him struggling and decides to help, completely unaware of where it will lead them. I imagined him sometime after the show ended, kinda with his somewhat longer curly hair and glasses. This story is completely fluff and I make no apologies.
Well, that was about the third loud huff from the man standing down the isle from me. This one was so loud it blew his hair around a bit, making it even messier. I try to focus on the task at hand, finding the perfect gift for my best friendâs little girl.
Diana was the closest thing I had to a daughter of my own. Despite Anneâs protesting, I took every opportunity to spoil her daughter rotten. The adorable and precocious little girl had me absolutely wrapped around her finger. I have to fight the urge to buy everything I thought would put a smile on her face, my favorite sight in the world.
But now, I was repeatedly distracted by the clearly frustrated man standing next to me, eyeing the girls toy section like it was an enigma. I decide to approach him, but heâs still to lost in his thoughts to notice.
I clear my throat while giving him a light tap on the shoulder.
âCan I help you with anything?â
âOh I didnât realized you worked here.â
âI donât.â I smile sweetly at him. âYou just look like youâre trying to solve the worlds most challenging puzzle over here.â
He meets my eyes with a sheepish smile, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. I try my best to ignore just how attractive this man is. Heâs definitely not available.
âI guess in a way I am. Iâm trying to buy a Christmas gift for my daughter. Itâs safe to say that I know absolutely nothing about girls. I want it to be absolutely perfect, and I just know whatever I get wonât be half of what she deserves.â
âWell I can help with that. How old is she and what does she like?â
He pushes his glasses up his nose, giving me a moment to ogle just how attractive his hands are.
âHer name is Alice, sheâs 5. I know she loves Disney princesses. Ariel is her favorite I think... but even once I narrow it down to that, there is still just so much. Who knew shopping for little girls could be so overwhelming.â
I canât help but giggle a bit at his helplessness. He starts to laugh along with me.
âIâm Spencer by the way.â I see him hesitate a moment before slowly extending a hand. I look at his extended hand with a slight feeling of guilt, knowing heâll most likely judge me based on my response.
âOh Iâm sorry I hope you donât think Iâm rude but... I donât really shake hands. Itâs not personal itâs just all the germs. I donât deal so well with them.â
He lets out a soft chuckle, but I canât imagine why. Is he actually laughing at me? Seems a bit rude.
âYou know I used to be the exact same way. I suppose having a kid has changed me more than I realize sometimes.â
I nod, quietly, knowing I canât really relate.
âIâm sorry youâre probably really busy. Are you shopping for your daughter too?â
Unsure as to the reason why, Iâm suddenly embarrassed to admit that Iâm not actually a parent. Just a single loner in their mid-thirties, living vicariously through their best friend and their.
âOh no, just a friend. Iâm more than happy to help you out with Alice. If you want my best ideas though, Iâve got to be honest, a lot of it is online. I can show you the links real quick, Iâd youâd like?â
âI feel like this would be easier if we just... Would you like to grab coffee? I know a great place just around the corner. You can show me all your ideas and hopefully we can pick out something for her together.â
Up until this point I didnât want to make assumptions, but itâs becoming more clear that Spencer is most likely a single dad. I donât want pry, but I canât help but wonder what happened to her mom.
I try to hide my excitement at his offer.
âYou had me at coffee. And I almost forgot, Iâm Y/N!â
ââââââââââââââââ
Three hours and several cups of coffee later, I knew a small part of the life story belonging to Spencer Reid. He was an FBI agent, part of a team who hunts down serial killers. A profiler. Or former profiler? He used to work in the field, until he had to raise his daughter alone. He had been fallen hard and fast for someone who left him as soon as another opportunity, or person rather, had presented themselves. They left him a single dad, all alone with his 2 year old daughter, Alice.
Being a single parent, he knew he couldnât continue a job that put him in harms way on a regular basis. He never had a problem putting his life on the line for others, but Alice had become his number one priority, without question. Switching to a desk job had allowed him to continue as a consult for the team while also teaching at the University.
As I looked over his attire, I couldnât help but notice that he didnât quite give off professor vibes at first glance. His cozy maroon sweater and glasses, perhaps. But his curly mop of disheveled hair and goofy grin made him look more like a cuddly muppet character. The more I listen to him talk the more I notice his intelligence. I should have known, given his professions. It didnât take long to realize he was well out of my league, but he was kind enough to give me the time of day for whatever reason.
I keep drowining in his eyes or getting pulled in by the movement of his hands as he speaks. Listening to his voice is like gently floating down like a river. I donât even notice when heâs stopped talking.
âWhat about you?â
âHmm?â I pull myself out of my daze, trying not to look as enchanted by him as I feel.
âOh uhh, nothing to tell really.â I shrug, picking up my coffe, hoping heâll change the subject while I sip on my caramel latte.
âI find that hard to believe. What do you do?â
âI just run a small cafe in town.â
I feel as though hearing about my life is about as interesting as watching water boil, but Spencer could have fooled me. He looks genuinely invested as I tell him about how I earned my bachelors and masters in business management, eventually opening up The Cottage. I didnât have any experience in the food industry, but my friend Nicole had immediately been on board with the idea of coming on as my cook.
âIt sounds wonderful. Iâll definitely have to stop by sometime.â He smiles at me before sipping on the last of his second cup of coffee.
âYouâre welcome to bring Alice, only if you want to. And Nicole makes a killer risotto!â
âOf course! ...Oh! I knew we were forgetting something. Alice!â
âThe entire reason you asked me here, just a minor detail.â I canât help but snicker at our absent mindedness, how easy it was to be completely swept away in the tide that was Spencer Reid.
His face fades a bit, though Iâm not sure why. He simply nods, folding his hands in his lap.
âSorry if this is weird but umm... can I see a picture of her? Itâs just, well, it might help me to get a better idea. You donât have to, if it makes you uncomfortable.â
âOh yeah!âHe pulls out his wallet, unfolding a long strand of small photos, most of just his daughter, a few featuring him as well.
She was beautiful, brown eyed girl with soft, brown locks. She clearly had her fathers curly hair and soft, doe eyes. If it wasnât obvious from the way he spoke about her, the pictures made it incredibly apparent that this girl was his whole world. Pure joy radiated from the photo of the two of them. I look up to to see the exact same look on his face, with a smile so big that his eyes crinkle.
That is the moment I knew he had me. I would follow this man anywhere, this adorable dad I had met on the toy isle only hours ago. The photos made it evident that she was just as crazy about him. It was almost too adorable for my heart to handle.
I take a deep breath before meeting his gaze, which is much closer now as we lean in over the table to look at the pictures.
âSheâs beautiful.â
He looks down at the photos again with glassy eyes. âI know.â
He clears his throat and scoots back into his seat.
âSo what did you have in mind?â
âWell, I have seen this online story that makes really pretty hand-made dresses that mimic the ones of each Disney Princess. Maybe a couple of her favorites? They also make knit blankets that look like mermaid tales. Or maybe a stuffed animal of one of her favorite characters? What little kid doesnât like stuffed animals, right?â
Spencer nods along, absorbing all the suggestions I throw his way. After awhile, I help him settle on ordering a few we both like.
âI canât wait to give these to her! She always loves Christmas morning. We open presents together and eat the cookies we made the night before while binging as many Christmas movies as possible.â
There was that smile again, the one he got when he talked about her. I wonder if she knows how lucky she is to have a dad that cares so much.
I canât help but smile as well at the thought, which he quickly interrupted with âSo what are your Christmas plans?â
I feel myself turning slightly red at the embarrassment of having to admit that I have none. Nothing much that is.
I shrug, hoping he wonât ask any more about it.
âDo you get to see your family?â
And there it was. The question I was desperately hoping to avoid. I know my inability to meet his gaze and consistent pulling at my fingers would be a dead give away of my uncertainty about speaking on the subject. I search for the best way to answer without seeming like Iâm overcome with self pity. To be fair, I wasnât. I didnât mind spending the holidays alone. Not anymore. I had grown comfortable with the silence and comfort that comes from living alone.
The soft crackling of the fire, a fuzzy blanket, and a warm cup of hot chocolate had become my closest companions of each winter season. I spent many evenings curled up by the window, watching the snow dust the city as soft music flowed through my drafty, top floor apartment. Sometimes Iâd dance and twirl around in my pajamas and socks, slipping and sliding on the wood floors. So yes, it was safe to say I truly enjoyed the time I spent getting to know myself.
âI uh, theyâre not really around anymore. I was adopted by my parents when I was still a baby. They didnât have any family but each other and then, well, me. I lost them to a car crash a few years back.â
I can tell heâs listening, but the one thing I always expect to see isnât there. Pity. Instead I see kindness and understanding, and my heart welcomes it fully.
âNicole is on vacation with her family for the holidays so itâs just me. Iâm pretty used to it though, I make my own fun.â I give him smile to reinforce my point.
His eyes glaze over and I can tell Iâve lost him to a deep thought, as I see the gears turning in his head. He opens his mouth to speak before closing it again, and finally spouting out: âCome have dinner with us. On Christmas Eve.â
I had half expected a pity invite. A âwhy donât youâ. A âwould you like toâ. But Spencer hadnât asked me. He had told me, in a way that left no room for arguing. I could tell he wasnât going to budge on the matter. Whether it was the insistent but kind tone or the seriousness in his eyes, I donât know. But I knew there was no use in fighting it. Not just the invitation, but the feelings quickly flooding my heart. Spencer Reid was like a fast approaching storm, but I didnât want to outrun the rain. I wanted to dance in it, drenched in the downpour.
And thatâs exactly what I did. As soon as I saw the look on his face when I said yes, it crashed over me like a wave, leaving me breathless and lost in the sea of my emotions.

All Too Well
Spencer must go to him and Y/Nâs once shared apartment to clean out his things and leave her life forever. While there he canât help but look back on his actions, the ones that made him lose the love of his life forever
A/N: Hi!! This is my first fanfic ever published on here and Iâm excited to share it with you all! Itâs inspired by one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs All Too Well, but although I utilized some of the lyrical genius and imagery from it, the story is not the same as the story in the song. This is a very angsty fic, and there is not a happy ending. Although there are some cute fluffy elements, including a Reidâs purple scarf origin story, I would in no way call this happy. Additionally, because of a reason you may later realize, the content warnings are very vague. If anything even slightly mentioned in them may affect you, I advise you to maybe stay clear. On a lighter note, if anyone wants to request anything, whether itâs another song inspired fic or a general plot line you would like to see please do so!! Also sorry this is kinda short, Iâm still learning but Iâm really proud of this one :))
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem Reader
Type: Very Angsty, Not a Happy Ending, (Y/N and Spencer do not end up together)
Word Count: 2.4k
Content Warnings(try to ignore if you would prefer to stay surprised): slight cursing, discussions of death and gore, discussion of car crash
Things to Know: Italics and bold are flashback moments :) let me know what you think!
âBut you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence And it smells like me You can't get rid of it 'Cause you remember it all too wellâ
Spencer was packing up his things, finally getting the chance to clear out and move from the apartment he and Y/N once shared. Their relationship was rocky and unconventional but he loved her all the same. Even though he left her broken-hearted and destroyed his most cherished relationship. Even though Y/Nâs parents now hated him because of what he did to her. Even though hope of repairing what they once had was long gone and there was nothing else he could do about it. Even though he had torn up the masterpiece they once had together. He still loved her so much.
But the magic was gone and so was she.Â
Now Spencer was left with memories, and since the apartment they lived in was hers instead of his, filed entirely under hers and her parents name. In his excessive knowledge and wisdom, Spencer Reid struggled to understand how the kitchen where Y/N told him she loved him for the first time as he lit the candle on the collapsing confetti cake he had attempted to bake for her birthday was in no way legally tied to him.Â
âHappy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to Y/N! Happy birthday to you!â Spencer sang as he lit the single pink birthday candle he found after rummaging through his desk drawers for longer than he cared to admit. He knew it was in there somewhere, but at the same time there was a whole lot in there.Â
As he looked at her face, eyes welling up with tears as she took in the sad, homemade excuse for a birthday party Spencer had thrown together after they got back from a case hours before, he couldnât help but feel he should have done more. He wanted to take her to New York, where they wouldâve enjoyed fine dining and one of those incredibly detailed floral frosting cakes he knew Y/N was infatuated with.Â
However, the case in Oregon ran long. They had only returned to their apartment 2 hours ago, hours past their 7pm dinner reservations. Although Y/N tried to hide her disappointment, you donât need to be a profiler to know that someone wants to celebrate their own birthday. So although they had agreed to go to bed and play everything by ear tomorrow, the young genius had, what he would still argue to be, his most brilliant idea when he saw Y/N asleep once he got out of the shower.
It was still her birthday.
And Spencer had just under 2 hours to throw you a party.Â
So sure, Y/N deserved more than a cake that was definitely not cool enough to frost, but was frosted anyway due to time constraints. And she definitely deserved more than present hastily wrapped in his printed out articles and newspaper clippings. Spencer wished that he had time to go buy new candles, instead of lighting a green sparkly number 7 because it was all he could find.
But it was almost midnight, and that meant he only had 18 minutes before it wasnât Y/Nâs birthday anymore.
So instead of dwelling on it, he headed to their bedroom, shook her awake and watched her roll over to face him. He watched the smile overtake her face as she said the stupid party hat he was wearing, made out of a pom pom and a wedding invitation.
âHey birthday girl,â he said softly, âyou do realize youâre sleeping through your party right?â
She looked so happy that night, even as she saw the way too messy kitchen and her birthday cake that was melting by the second. She laughed as Spencer fumbled with the lighter.Â
And as he finished singing her eyes started releasing tears.Â
âIâm sorry sweetheart, I wish we couldâve done more for the first birthday we get to spend together. â
âNo, no, noâ she said as she wiped her tears away, âItâs not that at all.â
She smiled and looked up at him âI just love you so goddamn much Spencer.â
Although at one point, all Spencer knew was logic and logically Y/N had never ever known him when she filed her paperwork, the genius still struggled to grasp the concept. That even before the ending of it all, you had no legal, definite connection to her at all.Â
How was nothing about this place, his?Â
All that he knew was that he had today to pack all his shit and leave. All he knew is that Y/Nâs father had made it very clear none of their family wanted to see him again.Â
He wished he could talk to Y/N about it. However all of his calls went to voicemail immediately.Â
Logically, Spencer knew why, he had completely fucked up.Â
But still, he called every single day, as there was nothing his heart wished for more than to speak to Y/N again. To apologize, to beg for forgiveness he knew he didnât deserve.
As the cold air from the open windows blew into the apartment, Spencer couldnât help but feel he was leaving his home behind. Everything left of her was going to be here, and he wouldnât get to experience any part of the life you and him had once shared together anymore.
But then he saw it.Â
The royal purple scarf Y/N bought the day of their first date.Â
âYou like this color right?â she asked as they stopped by a booth at the street festival she had taken him to. Spencer was too distracted as he watched the other couples on dates, as they walked hand and hand down the streets. He sometimes wished he could forget things like the number of germs and bacteria that lived on her hands. He at least wished he could forget long enough to gather enough courage to hold Y/Nâs hand as they walked down the sidewalk.
âHmm?â he said, looking back at her, then the scarf she was now wearing. âOh, yeah! I love that color, it um- looks great on you.â
She smiled, then turned to the weird old guy running the stand. âHow much for the scarf?â she asked.
He looked at her, then looked at Spencer, âdepends which one of you is paying.â
Before Spencer could say anything, let alone pull out his wallet, Y/N already had hers out.Â
âWell, for a pretty lady like you, itâs 2 dollars,â the man said.
She handed him five and turned to Spencer. âYou hear that? Iâm so pretty I get 80% off! Wonder what you wouldâve paid huh pretty boy? He would probably owe you money.â The man handed her her change and whispered something Spence couldnât quite catch.Â
âGross,â Y/N said as they exited the booth, âhe wrote his number on my change.â
Spencer chuckled, âDid you really just buy that scarf because I like the color of it?â
She smiled, âDonât get so cocky now Einstein, I like purple too you know? And maybe if youâre lucky Iâll let you borrow it.â
At that moment Spencer felt just okay enough to wrap his arm around Y/Nâs, and she felt just right enough to wrap the new scarf around them both.Â
The one she left next to her front door, after making the last minute decision to leave it at home the night of their final outing.
No one would notice if heâŠ.. Right?
Sure maybe Y/N would but what would she do about it? Hunt him down just to get a scarf she paid less than five dollars for? Definitely not.Â
He wrapped it around his neck and closed his eyes, even days later he could perfectly picture Y/N singing in his car, fascinated by the autumn leaves falling around her. He felt the wind in his hair, but instead of the cold, dreary air from the open apartment window, he swore he could remember the warm air from that October night.Â
âSpencer I know you hate it but please, please, please. Iâm so tired.â
âSweetheart youâre not tired, youâre drunk. Of course I have to drive you home.â
âOh, whatever.â
A phone call broke him away from his memories, it was Hotch. Spencer was angry, how effortlessly cruel of him to call him during such an emotional time. Hotch knew how much Spencer loved Y/N, the whole team did.Â
So he didnât pick up.
Instead he walked over to the coffee table they used to put their feet on when they binged watched Doctor Who together. Letting the ringtone play out in the background, Spencer picked up an old photo album Y/Nâs parents must have brought out. Of course he remembered it, it was the same one they flipped through when he met Y/Nâs parents for the first time. He didnât realize she had brought it home with her.
His eyes welled up with tears as he flipped through the old school pictures, remembering how embarrassed Y/N was of her big glasses. He saw her old athlete pictures from when she used to play tee ball, and flipped through more pictures until he reached the end of your softball career, in college.Â
He remembered how hard Y/N blushed when she showed him her childhood bedroom. Her twin sized bed was full of stuffed animals and her walls covered in boy band posters.Â
âYou know what Spencer? I donât want to hear it. I loved and still love the BackStreet Boys and I am not ashamed of that.â
He laughed, âYou know, before we started dating I always thought you were so cool and unattainable. I imagined that you had always been this chic, beautifully brilliant badass. Itâs oddly comforting to know that you wore tortoiseshell glasses and had a fruitless infatuation with Nick Carter.â
She gasped, before tossing her tabby cat stuffed toy at him, âYouâre about to get it!â
Once again he was called out of the memory by his phone.Â
And once again he let it ring.
Spencer went into their shared bedroom, most of his things were already put into boxes for him. Honestly he was surprised that they hadnât been set on fire or thrown away after what he did.Â
Soon it was time for him to take his things down to his car.
Except it wasnât even his car. It was Morganâs.
âSpencer, you are the most gorgeous man I have ever seen in my entire life. I am infatuated with you, I want us to spend the rest of our lives together.â
âYou sure that isnât the alcohol talking Y/Nâ
âLook at me Spencer, no, no really look at me.â
He couldnât imagine ever using his old car again after what had happened in it.
âYou are my future.â
Not that he could use it again.
âYou are my everything.â
It was pretty much destroyed, after that accident on that little town street.
âI want nothing more in my life, than for you to be in it.â
When he was so enamored by Y/N, so in love that he couldnât take his eyes off her, that he ran a red light.
And the truck waiting to go didnât stop either.
âSPENCER! SPENCER CAN YOU HEAR ME? I NEED YOU TO CALL 911!â she screamed, her voice filled with agony, her limbs mangled in a sea of crushed mental and snapped backwards by the emergency airbag she didnât realize she was resting her feet on.
Spencer had already called 911. That was the sickest thing about it. Spencer was, physically, perfectly fine. Spencer would get to leave the hospital after just a few days. Spencer couldâve probably gotten out of the car if he tried to. But he stayed, he stayed with Y/N, as she wasnât fine. As Spencer looked down on her broken body, and tried desperately to find just one piece of skin that wasnât coated in blood, her blood, that is when he realized. That not only could Y/N not walk out of the hospital with him, but she probably wouldnât even make it there.
So he sobbed, he struggled to breathe, not because of the ways Y/N did, but because he had caused all the reasons she couldnât.
âHey, Spencer, look at me.â
So he did, and he reached for her hands and held them so tightly, and wanted one last time to feel her squeeze back. And she did, just ever so softly.Â
âSpencer, I meant everything I said to you. I want you to spend the rest of my life with me. Please.â
âI love you so much Y/Nâ
âI love you too.â
Spencer was drawn away from his memories once again as he got another phone call.Â
But it wasnât Hotch this time. It was Mr. Y/L/N, so he answered it. He owed him that.
âAre you out of her house yet? Youâve had hours. I want you gone Spencer.â
Spencer sighed, âIâm leaving now sir, Iâm just putting the last of my things in the trunk and then Iâll be gone.â
âGood, I never want to see you again Spencer, you hear me?â Mr. Y/L/N said. âAnd you better not have anything of hers either. All that stuff in your car better belong to you and you only. If Y/N paid for even a dime of it it better still be in that house.â
Spencer looked down at this scarf he was wearing, the one that still smelled like her perfume. The one that he couldnât bring himself to take off because he reminded him of so much innocence and beauty.
âYes sir, I didnât take anything.â
âGood. And Spencer do me a favor.â
âAnything sir.â
âGo fuck yourself.â Mr. Y/L/N said, and then hung up. Spencer sighed, he expected that and fully deserved it.
How else should a father react when you kill his daughter?
â'Cause there we are again when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too wellâ

Come and Find Me
Chapter One: Iâm StuckÂ
I wonât lie when writing the cute parts of the story I listened to âIâm Stuckâ by Noah Cyrus. Â
Spencer Reid x Reader
Warnings: NoneÂ
Read Prologue here   Masterlist
You stumbled into your favorite coffee shop. You were a mess this morning and itâs all because your alarm decided to fuck you over and not wake you up on time. Luckily your body didnât completely betray you, naturally waking up an hour later than you had planned, but still giving you a half hour to get to your meeting.Â
You had screamed when you saw the time, this meeting could be your next big break, and getting there late was not how you wanted to start a new design deal. At a mere 23 years old you were still making your way up into the world. After graduating college a semester early you had worked your ass off and started your own independent interior design business. You focused on designing office spaces for big businesses using workplace psychology to create an environment that brought up productivity and reduced the stress of workers.Â
Your business was slowly gaining traction, but the company you were meeting today could really put your name out there.Â
You had planned to wake up early, put yourself together and center yourself over a cup of coffee, however, life can never be that simple. So here you were, quick light makeup and your hair in a simple bun rather than the elaborate âI am a professionalâ look you planned. The one thing you did have going for you was your outfit, a white blouse that complimented your figure and tan capri pants, with a strappy heeled sandal. You had made sure it was spotless and ironed before your big day today, so at least you had that going for you.Â
âOh darling, you look a bit out of it, are you alright?â Your favorite barista and dear friend Ava, asked, her green eyes filled with concern.Â
âAv, you would not believe the hell of the morning Iâve had.â You groaned. âI woke up late today and I have that huge meeting I told you about and all of the things I had planned to keep me grounded and ready flew out the window.â
Ava let out a tsk sound and patted your hand. âOh babe, in that case, coffeeâs on me. Take a deep breath. Youâve been planning for this meeting for weeks and with that amount of work and dedication, youâre definitely going to knockâem dead.âÂ
âAve, you are the light of my life.â You said, already feeling lighter than you did when you first entered.Â
âOh babe, I know.â She winked, brushing a stray purple bang out of her eye. âI want an update on everything afterwards, youâve got my number! James will have your coffee ready for you at the other end. Good luck!âÂ
âThank you! I promise I will!â You grinned and made your way to the other end of the counter, where your coffee was waiting.Â
Knowing your order by heart, James had already started your latte the moment you walked in, you thanked whatever God listening that it was ready so fast. James gave you a shy smile and handed you the coffee. âHere you go.â
âThanks James.â You gave him a kind smile and turned to leave. Glancing down at your watch, you realized you had ten minutes to get to your meeting, but luckily it was just up the block so you would get there right on time.Â
But like you said nothing is ever easy. You werenât exactly paying attention as you walked out of the store, you were double checking your bag to make sure you had everything, so naturally you slammed into someone, causing coffee to get all over your blouse.
You let out a yelp, while a large hand came out to steady you. âI am so sorry! Are you alright?â A male voice asked.Â
âWell, aside from the fact that I have a meeting that could change my life in 5 minutes and now I look like a disheveled mess with coffee on her blouse, Iâm fine.â You grumbled finally looking at the face of your accidental attacker. Your heart stopped for a moment.Â
He was stunning. Shoulder length curly brown hair, caramel eyes, and a TALL, fit body.
He was clearly flustered as your eyes met. His face had a gentle dusting of pink across it and his eyes could barely meet yours. âI really am sorry, I wasnât paying attention- uh- here!â He began to shrug off his cardigan. âThis should be able to cover up most of the stains.â He thrust the sweater towards you.Â
Now it was your turn to be flustered. âOh no, really, I can figure something out-âÂ
âYou said this meeting is supposed to change your life right?â He interrupted before you could stutter out anymore excuses. You nodded. âWhile I donât want to be the person that ruins your life. Just wear it to your meeting and uh, how about we meet back here tomorrow morning and you can just give it back to me then?â He blushed a deeper crimson, as a big smile grew across your face.Â
âI would love that, thank you so much.â You put on his cardigan and buttoned it up. He was right, almost all of the stains were covered. âHow do I look? Professional?â You asked him.
âBeautiful- I mean yes, professional, you look great!â He smiled, pushing a shoulder length curl behind his ear.
You blushed, but quickly forced yourself to regain your composure. âSo Iâll meet you here at 7 tomorrow-â You paused looking at him for his name.Â
âDr. Reid, well, Spencer, call me Spencer.âÂ
âSpencer.â You smiled. âI will see you tomorrow then.âÂ
That was the first time you met Spencer Reid.
________________________________________________________________
The next morning, Spencer arrived 30 minutes early to the coffee shop to get a table, he felt fidgety and nervous. He hadnât even caught your name yesterday before you left and he felt like an idiot. Of course he bumps into the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, spilt coffee all over her, AND forgot to ask her her name. Part of him was worried you wouldnât even show up, itâs not exactly the best first meeting.Â
30 minutes later when you walked in, he thanked a God he didnât even believe in. You looked less bewildered than you did yesterday, but no less beautiful.Â
You had chosen to go for a business casual look, your hair curled and flowing past your shoulders, a deep red blouse, black denim jeans, and black heeled boots. You had Spencerâs cardigan draped over your arm, you had made sure to wash it before giving back to him.Â
You searched around the patrons until your eyes met Spencerâs, your whole face lit up as you made your way over to him.Â
You had no idea that somebody else was watching you as you made your way over to him. You were too distracted by Spencer to feel the angry gaze that burned into your back.
âHi.â You said shyly as you sat down.Â
âHey.â Spencer said smiling at you.Â
âWere you waiting long?â You asked, a concerned look crossing your face.
âOh no, not at all, I just came a few minutes early to get us a good seat.â Spencer lied, not wanting you to know how early he actually came.Â
âWell you choose right, this is the best seat in the house. Itâs right by the counter where you pick up coffee, but itâs the perfect window seat to people watch.â You explained.Â
âYeah, did you know coffee is actually a fruit?â Spencer asked you. âTheyâre actually the pit of a berry and grow on a bush.Â
You let out a giggle, âNo, I had no idea that was even a thing. At least I can use that as an excuse when I get chastised for drinking too much. Where did you learn that?âÂ
Spencer blushed. âI tend to pick up random knowledge here and there. Which reminds me, I never got your name yesterday before you ran off.âÂ
âWell Dr. Spencer Reid, my name is (Y/N) (Y/L/N).â You grinned offering him a hand. âNo fancy title, but I am doing my best for simply being a Miss.âÂ
Spencer would usually avoid handshakes due to all the germs, however he wanted nothing more than to shake your hand, which was warm and soft.Â
â(Y/N).â He tested your name out on his tongue. You smiled.Â
âHave you gotten a coffee yet?â You asked him, getting up to head to order.
âI had one a bit earlier, but I could use another one.â Spencer answered, getting up to follow you.Â
As you approached the counter you tried to ignore the smug look Ava gave you, praying she wouldnât say anything. She gave Spencer a not so subtle up and down look, checking him out and obviously finding him attractive. You gave Ava a stern look that told her not to say a word.Â
She just gave you a wink. Spencer had picked up on all of this, his profiler skills not missing a thing. A small smile crept across his face and he swallowed back a laugh.Â
You gestured for Spencer to go first, âIâm buying, to thank you for letting me borrow your sweater yesterday.âÂ
Spencer looked at you in bewilderment. âNo way! If anything Iâm buying for destroying your coffee and spilling it all over your blouse before your âlife changingâ meeting!â
You rolled your eyes at him. âSpencer, just order the damn coffee. I promise you it wonât break my bank. Especially after I got the design yesterday.â You grinned.Â
Ava let out a squeal. âYou did not! Oh my god, I knew you could do it girl! All of your hard work paid off!âÂ
Spencerâs face lit up. âCongratulations! Iâm glad our collision didnât ruin anything.âÂ
You let out a laugh. âIf anything I think your cardigan brought me good luck, I even got a couple compliments on it. I may just have to keep it.â You teasedÂ
Spencerâs heart warmed at the idea of you wearing his clothes. âWell if it brought you that much luck, maybe Iâll just let you keep it.â
A voice behind the two of you cleared their throat. âAre you guys going to order? Some of us have places to be.âÂ
You glanced behind you at the woman, a small line had apparently grown behind you and Spencer. âSorry about that. Ava Iâll just do my usual. Do not let Spencer pay.âÂ
Ava raised her hands defensively. âIâm just here to make coffee love.âÂ
âIâll just do a large coffee with extra cream and a lot of sugar.â Spencer said.Â
You went to grab your wallet from your purse, but Spencer cut you off, cash already in hand.Â
âSpencer.â You whined and Spencer just shrugged.Â
As you made your way to the counter, you found it a bit strange that James had just left your coffees there. Usually he would at least wait a moment to say hi before taking off to make more orders, but you shrugged it off, they did have a line right now so he probably had to focus on getting the coffees out to customers.Â
Though the two of you only got to spend about an hour together, the two of you had immediately hit it off, completely unaware of the eyes that had been burning through you as they watched throughout what you and Spencer would later consider your first date.Â
_______________________________________________________________
From there it was a whirlwind of dates snuck between cases and your design jobs. After a little over a month Spencer had asked to officially call you his girlfriend and you had obviously accepted. Â
It was ridiculously cliche how quickly the both of you had fallen for each other, but you had just seemed to click right away. You loved Spencerâs logical mind that went on and on with random facts, he loved your creativity and energy. Your minds worked well together, helping each other out when the other got stuck.Â
As your relationship progressed, you found yourself spending more and more time at each other's apartments.
âAva, he's just a dream. Iâve never felt like this with anyone ever.â You explained joyfully.Â
You had sat in your regular window seat, while Ava remained on the other side of the service counter. It was a bit slow in the shop today, so she had come over to get all the details on âyour smokeshow boyfriend.â Since she was the manager of the shop and beloved by her boss, she could get away with it.
âOh hon, if he has a brother, let me know.â She purred, sneaking a glance over her shoulder to check on James who was holding down the fort for her. The boy stood by the register, poor thing looking a bit bored.Â
James was a year younger than you and apparently starting grad school, but his shyness made him seem so much younger that you felt this slight protectiveness over him even if you only knew him from around the shop and stories from Ava.Â
His eyes met yours and you gave him a sympathetic smile. He blushed deeply and turned away, scampering to busy himself.Â
You looked back at Ava, giving a little nod towards James, âWhat about James? He seems sweet and heâs cute.â You waggled your eyebrows at her.Â
Ava snickered. â(Y/N/N), he is sweet, but way too shy, he can barely look me in the eye. I need someone whoâs more of a dom if you know what I mean.â She smirked.Â
You pouted at her. âPoor James.âÂ
Ava shrugged, âHeâll find his someone. Anyway youâre switching the topic, back to your dreamboat. You said he was an FBI agent? Thatâs heroic and sexy.âÂ
You rolled your eyes at her. âYes, heâs part of the Behavior Analysis Unit. They create profiles to help solve different criminal cases. Itâs actually amazing. Spencer is giving a lecture about it at a college this Friday if you want to come with me.âÂ
âIâll come, but only if I get to officially meet your sexy doctor superhero boyfriend.â Ava smirked.Â
âWell obviously.â You smiled.Â
________________________________________________________________
The boyâs breathing was heavy as he struggled to control his anger. He watched the Doctorâs tall form strutting across the stage, his long brown hair swinging back and forth as he broke down profiling and the criminal cases he and his BAU team had solved.Â
From where he sat in the lecture hall he could watch the doctor while also keeping an eye on you. You were sitting near the front, your friend by your side. It was hard to miss her with her deep purple hair, thatâs how he always found you. Though to him, you outshined everyone in the room. Even the ridiculous doctor.Â
He growled to himself as he observed your look of awe. He knew you two had made your relationship official. He knew almost every detail. Like how last weekend, the Doctor had come home early from a case and had surprised you with your favorite flowers: pink dahlias. You had spent the whole rest of the weekend together; you had brought him to your favorite Thai place, then went to both of your favorite bookstores. He knew everything.Â
He knew where you lived, your schedule, the design projects you were working on. He watched and he listened. He followed you home some days. Other days, he would simply wait outside your apartment building. He knew what window to watch if he wanted to catch a glimpse of you.Â
The worst days are when the Doctor would be with you. He would watch as you two joked around and kissed, it made him sick.Â
He didnât like the Doctor. He hated hearing him ramble on to you. Fact after fact, never shutting up. But he understood him as he had researched him, found his accomplishments; he was a prodigal, graduating high school at the age of 12 and earned three PhDs. He worked for the FBI, catching criminals and profiling them. The Doctor constantly had something to prove, how could you be with a man so weak?
The Doctor was someone who could hardly befriend anyone besides his books, so how had the Doctor gotten you, when he had always been there? The Doctor did not deserve you, the Doctor could not give you what he could. Yet here you were, giving this man a ridiculous moon-eyed look that he did not deserve.Â
He couldnât take it anymore. He got up and left.Â
He made his way down the hall towards an all-too familiar office, one that he practically lived in.Â
He was greeted by his usual cheery eyed professor, Professor Irving.Â
Never one to miss anything, Professor Irving raised an eyebrow. âYouâre back early, how was the lecture?â Professor Irving asked. âIsnât that Dr. Reid something else?â
âHeâs alright. Someone worth looking into for sure. I left early to get ahead of these reports you wanted me to help grade, I do have a life outside of classes.âÂ
Professor Irving smirked at him. âSon, I have known you too long, the only three places you go are classes, your job, and your apartment. I was hoping this lecture would show you how much the world has to offer, I mean look at Dr. Reid! He was one of the youngest to ever join the BAU-â
âENOUGH about Dr. Reid!â He growled, interrupting his professor.Â
Professor Irving just stared at his student, shell-shocked.Â
The boy shook his head and rubbed his face. âIâm sorry professor, that was uncalled for, I have just been stressed lately.â The boy began picking up the papers he had to grade. He wanted to get through some of these as quick as possible, that way he could spend his weekend with you.Â
Professor Irving solemnly nodded. âI understand. I know youâve been stressed lately, is that girl of yours acting up still?â
The boy sighed as he shrugged on his bag full of studentâs reports. âSomething like that. Listen, I know you said Dr. Reid is going to continue to come back and give lectures every few weeks or so. I will go to those ones and actually stay for them. Who knows? Maybe it will help me with my thesis paper. I just- I just canât focus tonight, but I will do better. I promise.âÂ
Professor Irving nodded. âOf course, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.âÂ
The boy nodded then left the room.

Sick Day
Just posting an old fic from my AO3 account. You can read it on that website here, it was a gift for someone who reviewed one of my other stories (I have been known to offer bribes in the past).
Summary: When Jack is stuck at home recovering from bad chest cold, all he wanted was for someone to spend time with him. And with Sam and Dean on a case and Cas working on an angel problem, that leaves Mary...and Rowena. Now, if he can only convince them to stop trying to out-mother each other and just be his friends maybe he would actually feel better.
...
Having the flu, as Dean put it so succinctly, sucked.
Never mind that Sam had scolded his brother up and down the bunker that Jack didn't have the flu, that what he had was a serious chest cold, Dean had kept calling it the flu until Sam stormed off to dig up a hunt to shut his brother up. After all, Mary was planning on spending a few days at the bunker brushing up on some current affairs and helping with some translation work for a novice hunter out in California, so it wasn't like they were leaving him alone.
Except, Jack reasoned as he tucked his blanket a little tighter around this legs, it would be nice if Sam or Dean had acted like they wanted to stay with him. Castiel was helping Heavenâthey'd found an angel hiding on earth and he was trying to convince them to go home to help power up Heaven, but Naomi was refusing to send anyone else so he was the only one who could do it. So it was just Jack and Mary left in the bunker, and without the noise of the other hunters or one of his dads the whole place just seemed empty and sad.
Jack loved Mary, he really did, but just...he really wanted one of his fathers. Sam had said their case would only last a few days and Cas was coming home as soon as he could (and called or texted whenever he was able) but it just didn't compare to having someone here. His phone rang, pulling him out of his thoughts, and Jack's face lit up when he saw Rowena's name on the ID screen. âRow-â he broke off to cough away from the phone, âRowena?â âJack? Oh, poor boy, you sound awful,â Rowena's lilting accent was colored with sympathy, and Jack wiggled further down on the couch and closed his eyes. âYeah, I'm sick.â âOh no, that's just awful. My poor wee lad.â âI'm okay. Sam says I should be better in a few days.â Dean, of course, said he was probably going to be sick for the rest of his life, but even through the haze of NyQuil Jack had realized that was a joke. âYes, Samuel. Is he there? I've tried to call him but he isn't answering,â âNo, he and Dean are on a case,â Jack twisted away from the phone to cough again. âI see. Well, how about Castiel?â âHe's been gone on angel business for a few days, but he should be back soon.â Rowena was silent on the other end of the phone. Jack frowned and pulled the phone away, checking that they were still connected. âRowena?â âAnd...they left you there? Alone? And sick?â âOh, no, I'm not alone. Mary's here.â Rowena was silent again for a few minutes. Jack turned the phone away to cough into a tissue, careful to throw it in the trash can to limit the spread of germs. âWell, if the boys aren't there, I suppose I can stop by myself for what I need.â Jack was blowing his nose, but he picked the phone up again as soon as he was done. âYou're coming?â âJust to look for a few things,â the witch commented, but there was something warm in her voice. âI'll bring you some of the remedies I used to take when I was a lass. We'll have you back on your feet in no time.â Before Jack could argue, Rowena had hung up on her end. He let his phone drop into his lap and rested his head against the couch. At least it would be nice to see her again, he thought. He was pretty sure there weren't really any cures for a cold (at least Sam had said so, and even Dean admitted Sam was probably right about almost everything), but the bunker seemed so empty with just him and Mary that he was looking forward to another visitor. âJack?â Mary was leaning into the doorway, a steaming mug in her hands. âDid Cas call again?â âNo, that was Rowena,â Jack replied. He drew his feet up so the blonde woman could sit at the other end of the couch and pass him the mug. It was herbal tea laced with honeyâthe warmth always helped ease the ache in his chest while the honey soothed his scratchy throat. âShe said she needed some information, but since Sam and Cas aren't here she's just going to stop by to look for it herself.â âOh.â Mary's lips tightened into a thin line. He knew Mary had grown up viewing witches as nothing more than another monster, but he held out hope that she could someday at least see Rowena as an ally. After all, Bobby and Jules and most of the hunters from the apocalypse world had learned to accept Castiel, so there had to be hope for Mary and Rowena. âThank you, Mary,â he said, after taking a sip of the tea. âYou always make it so strong, I like it.â Mary's cheeks reddened. âWell, herbal tea isn't really my strong suit,â she replied. âIf you wanted coffee, now...it would still probably be pretty strong.â âI like it like this,â Jack repeated after another sip. âSometimes when I make it I just leave the teabag in while I drink it.â âYou rebel,â Mary teased, patting his knee. âHow are you feeling?â He shrugged. âOkay, I guess.â Mary leaned forward to rest her hand against his forehead. Jack closed his eyes, leaning into the touch just a little. Her hand was cool and dry, and just a little rough with callouses in the same places as Sam and Dean. She smelled nicer, though. He still didn't understand why it was somehow a taboo for boys to smell like strawberries, no matter what Dean
said. âYou're not running a fever,â Mary commented. âAt least not a high one. Is your cough any better?â Jack started to answer, but had to turn to the side to cough into another balled-up tissue. Mary's smile was sympathetic and she patted his knee again. âMaybe a little. Just get some rest, Jack.â âWait,â Jack caught her wrist as she stood to leave. âSam downloaded some old movies before he left, do you want to watch one with me?â âI wish I could,â Mary replied, gently brushing some of his hair out of his face. âI just have so much work to do right now. Maybe later.â He tried to keep the disappointment off his face as she left the room, but as soon as she was gone Jack sunk back down into the couch and picked his phone back up. Movies were just less fun by himself, and he didn't always understand the references. Cas had sent another update, at leastâthe angel he was talking to was living near a bird sanctuary, and he always sent Jack colorful pictures of parrots and songbirds and an old, scarred pelican the sanctuary workers had named Admiral. Not as good as having his father here, certainly, but it was nice to know Cas was thinking of him. Jack closed his eyes, letting his phone rest against his chest. Later couldn't come soon enough. * * * âJack?â A cool, soft hand on his forehead gently pulled him out of sleep. âMary?â he whispered. âNo, dear. It's Rowena.â He cracked his eyes open to see the witch leaning over him, brilliant red hair cascading over one shoulder. âWhat time is it?â She glanced down at the gold watch on one wrist. âAlmost seven in the evening. How are you feeling, Jack?â Jack grunted and shoved himself up, rubbing his eyes with the heel of one hand. âBetter?â Rowena gave a little laugh, sitting down on the edge of the couch near his knees. âWas that a question or an answer?â âBoth?â She gave another of those little, tinkly laughs and patted his knee. âWell, now I'm here, I'll have you back to health in no time at all.â He smiled at her, but had to bend over to muffle a cough in one hand. âSorry.â âNo apology necessary, Jack,â Rowena assured him. He fumbled for the tissue box but found it empty and jerked back in surprise when Rowena offered him a handkerchief. âIt won't bite you, my dear. And it can be washed.â âAh...thanks.â Gingerly, Jack covered his mouth and nose to cough. Rowena shifted around to place one hand on his back and rub gentle, soothing circles. âYou poor thing,â she murmured. âAnd the boys just left you all alone?â âMary's here,â Jack reminded her, when he could speak again. Rowena sniffed daintily. âYes, of course. Lady Winchester. Well, Jack, I'll just pop over to the kitchen and put this on the boil,â she said as she stood up, picking up a paper grocery bag. âI've got a few things to check while it's stewing, but we'll have you right as rain soon.â Jack swung around to put his feet on the floor, fighting a wave of dizziness. âRowena? Sam told me to just keep taking this stuff,â he explained, gesturing to a package of extra-strength cold medicine. âMaybe...could you just bring your research in here and we could watch a movie instead?â The witch scoffed at the packaged medicine. âNonsense, Jack. Trust me, I'll have you up on your feet in a matter of hours.â With that, Rowena marched out of the room with the paper bag clutched close. Jack slumped back against the couch, head pounding and sinuses clogged. He really, truly was feeling better compared to the last few days. Just...lonely. A crash from the kitchen had him sitting back up, and with a sigh Jack shuffled to his feet and pulled his robe closed. He could hear raised voices as he got closer and realized Mary and Rowena were in the middle of a heated argument over something. â...need your...witches brew,â Mary was saying as Jack approached the door. âWe were doing just fine without you.â âOh, fine, of course,â Rowena's voice was sharp with scorn. âExplain how you burned tomato soup, then?â âIt's harder than it looks,â Mary protested. âAnd it's not burned, there's just stuff stuck to the bottom of
the pan. That happens every time.â âThis?â Jack could hear something scraping, and really hoped Rowena hadn't just taken a metal spoon to one of Dean's prized nonstick pans. âThis is burned, dear. See how it's gone all dark and bitter? You actually burned the soup, no wonder the poor boy is ill!â âWhat would you know about taking care of a sick child?â Mary demanded. âI have raised a son of my own.â âWho became a demon! At least my boys have never done that!â Rowena gave a dark laugh. âOh, dearie, there's so much you don't know.â âAnd what's that supposed to mean? Sam and Dean are good men.â âOh, no one's disputing that, Mary. I'm merely suggesting that they became good men because of your absence, rather than in spite of it.â That was enough for Jack. Before Mary could make her retort he shoved his way into the kitchen, his dramatic entrance made somewhat pathetic when he stumbled into a chair and had to hang onto it for dear life. âWhat are you arguing about?â âJack!â Mary rushed to his side, turning the chair around and trying to push him to sit down. She was trying to be calm, but he could see the angry flush in her cheeks and feel her hands shaking. âWhat are you doing up? You should be resting!â âDid we disturb you?â Rowena asked, straightening his robe and brushing his hair back. She almost appear unaffected, but her lips were tight and she kept glaring over at Mary. âPoor boy. I apologize, it won't happen again.â Jack shook them both off. âWhy were you fighting?â When neither woman answered he folded his arms, though he did sit down as his cold made him feel weak, and attempted his best Dean-stare at them. âI want to know.â âMary burned-â âRowena was-â They started at the same time, but both stopped to glare at each other. Jack sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose with one hand. âI really don't need all of this.â âI'm sorry, Jack,â Mary rested one hand on his shoulder and squeezed lightly. âWe'll keep it down.â âAye,â Rowena placed her hand on his other shoulder and pressed a kiss to his cheek. âYou just trot back to bed. I'll take care of the mess here and bring you something in a wee bit.â âI was making soup,â Mary replied, her grip tightening just a little. âI'll bring you some soup.â âIf you can call it soup,â Rowena sniffed. Her hand was tightening as well. It was almost uncomfortable. âI'll clean up this disaster and bring you some real food.â âOkay, that's it!â Mary leaned over Jack to get in Rowena's face. âI've had it with your little insults! No, I'm not a cook, but John and I survived just fine even if I burned the soup now and then!â âOh, yes, of course,â Rowena replied. She leaned over Jack as well, until his vision was all but blocked by the two women. âThat would by why you had such a long, happy marriage, hmm? Oh, wait...you died.â âEnough!â Jack stood up, pushing the two apart. He swallowed down another cough and took a few steps away so he could turn around and face them, waving his hands to include the two of them as well as the disaster in the kitchen. âIt's all of this! I don't need this! Cas is away on important business that couldn't wait, and Sam and Dean wouldn't have left if I wasn't going to be fine. I don't need you to do this much for me!â âJack,â Mary held her hands out, trying to soothe him. âI'm sorry, I got carried away. We just want what's best for you.â âBut you never asked me! You just keep trying to be my mother!â Jack pushed both hands through his hair and turned away. He hadn't meant to say that...hadn't meant to express the awful, bitter feelings that kept bubbling up. âJack?â Rowena was at his side, one hand on his elbow. âIs something the matter?â He sighed, turning around again so he could face both of them. âI already have a mom,â he explained, feeling that little twist of pain and love and regret that formed in his stomach whenever he thought of Kelly. âA really, really good mom. And I have Cas, and Sam and Dean. I just...I don't need another mom. I really...I just wanted a friend today.â Mary had looked down, blinking back tears.
Rowena had looped her arm through his and was studying his face with a gentle expression. âMy poor lad,â she finally murmured. âI never meant to try to replace your mother, Jack. You just seemed so lonely...I just wanted to take care of you.â âYeah,â Mary came close enough to take his free hand. âI guess...we just thought we knew what was best and didn't even think about what you really wanted.â Jack let out a relieved sigh, letting the two of them guide him back to the chair when his legs started to shake. âCan we please just watch a movie together? That's all I wanted.â âOf course,â Rowena said soothingly. âI'll take care of the dishes here, and maybe Mary can find some snacks.â âAnd make tea,â Mary offered. âNice and strong, just how you like it.â Rowena pulled a face, but this time Jack knew it was because the witch didn't approve of the way he drank tea. âThat would be great,â he said. âI'll set up the projector.â * * * âHey, Cas,â Dean greeted the angel as he got out of the Impala. âYou're back early!â âSusanna agreed to return to Heaven,â Cas explained. âHow did your hunt go?â âOh, just the best,â Dean replied. He hefted his bag up to his shoulder and rolled his eyes. âPoltergeists are just so much fun.â âDo you need me to heal you?â Cas asked worriedly, looking over Sam and Dean for injuries. âHe's just being a baby,â Sam said. âThe poltergeist didn't hurt his shoulder, he just won't admit that he's old and can't take the cold as well as he used to.â âI am not old,â Dean retorted, leading the way into the bunker. âBesides, if I'm old you are too.â âThat doesn't even make sense,â Sam complained, but fell silent when his brother pulled up short. âDean?â Dean held a finger to his lips and gestured to the small office they'd been using as a kind of family living room. There was a projector running one of the old black and white movies Sam had found. Jack was on the couch, fast asleep, head tipped back at an awkward angle and breathy snores rasping out of his open mouth. To his right, Rowena was curled up on the couch beside him with her head pillowed on his shoulder. Mary was at the opposite end of the couch from Rowena, her feet resting in Jack's lap and her head down against her chest. âThink he's feeling better?â Sam whispered. âHope so,â Dean replied, turning away from the room with a grin. âLooks like he was in good hands.â Sam shook his head, casting one more look at the sleeping trio. "I don't know, I kind of feel like it was the other way around."

Quick! // Spencer Reid x Reader
Hello again :) it's been a minute. And I'm so sorry about that. I wish I had more time but I recently started my own business with a friend ON TOP of a full time job. So I'm extremely sorry for the giant hiatus between fics. I love you all immensely and message me if you need anything!!
Summary - Reader brings Spencer to an office Christmas party to keep the office creep away from her.
TW - SLIGHT SEXUAL ASSAULT
Word count - 1.9k
The situation I had dragged Spencer into wasn't one he would usually agree to. Hell, I usually wouldn't even ask him to do this.
But things at my office were getting a bit too out of control for my liking.
Seth was a man who worked at my office. He appeared kind, handsome, and charming.
And that was all true, because it was on the surface.
Seth was also cunning, seductive, persuasive, and powerful. I think you see where I'm getting at here.
The first time something happened it was pretty harmless, but made me uncomfortable regardless.
*I sat at my desk, finishing up an article I had started days ago, one I was quite proud of, when I felt a presence behind me. I peered to the right slightly, seeing a suit I had seen on many different occasions.*
*Seth.*
*"Looks great y/n!" He put his hand on my shoulder for a few seconds, looking from over my shoulder. "Great job." His hand slid slowly off as he backed away. It gave me chills.*
He had done many other things in between now and then, but the last straw was a week ago when he grabbed my knee under the table at a meeting. I snatched it from him so quickly I was thoroughly surprised that no one heard my knee slam into the underside of the table.
Now it was the office Christmas party, and I wanted to go, I had many friends made in that office that I had come to love being around. But it was hard to do that with a certain lurking presence around.
So I called Spencer.
At first he was very hesitant, saying 'parties weren't his thing.' And 'I wouldn't know what to wear.' But as soon as I brought up how uncomfortable Seth made me, he was on board.
I set out the sweaters I bought for us on my couch, getting ready to tell Spence that he had to wear this.
It was going to be like putting a cat in a bath.
"Come in! Its unlocked." I yelled, hearing the knock at the door. Spencer promptly slinked in, heading to my side.
"You know, that can be quite dangerous. What if it wasn't me?" I looked up at him with a tiny glare.
"You knock a certain way so shut up." He smiled a bit at this, inevitably looking down at the sweaters I had placed.
"No, y/n, why?" He whined, feeling the fabric between his fingers.
"Spencer please! I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend." His movements froze, I may have skipped asking him that the other day.
"What? I thought, you said, I thought I was just there to keep him away from you?"
"And you are! You are! But it would really keep him away from me if he knew I had a boyfriend. Men respect other men they don't know, more than they trust women at all." I gave him puppy dog eyes, holding up the sweaters that read 'I've been naughty' and 'I've been nice.' On them. He looked down at me with what looked like nerves but I was definitely perceiving as pity and finally gave in.
"Fine, because I don't want that asshole touching you anymore."
"Soooooo, you'll wear the sweater?" I gave him a cheesy smile, slowly placing the 'Naughty' one in his arms. He rolled his eyes with the tiniest smile.
"Yes, I'm going to change then we can leave." He walked to my bathroom, coming out less than a minute later with a matching sweater to mine, which I changed into in the living room. And off we went.
-
We had been parked in the parking lot for about 12 minutes while I was half panicking, but I covered that up by saying I needed to 'touch up my makeup.' Within the first minute Spencer realized that I was lying and tried to calm me down.
He succeeded after 13 minutes.
We entered through the glass doors om the first floor, heading to the elevator.
"I do not have good experiences with elevators." Spencer complained.
"Well I don't have good experiences with walking up 9 flights of stairs. So I'm taking the elevator." He reluctantly entered the 'deathbox' as I heard him refer to it under his breath.
Once to 8th floor, I grabbed his hand, waiting for it to reach the 9th as Spence furrowed his eyebrows.
"We are selling this whether you like it or not." I giggled, squeezing his hand and watching the doors opening. Christmas light and laughter spilled in.
"Y/n! Is this Spencer?" My friend Maizey subtly gestured to our hands.
"Yes! Took a little convincing to get him here." I laughed.
"I love the sweaters! So *cute*." We are cute aren't we?
Stop that.
"Yeah, it took a lot of convincing to get him in it." I leaned into him, his arm naturally snaking around my waist.
That's weird.
After a short amount of small talk Maizey was off to mingle with others around the room.
And that's when I saw him.
"Are you gonna point out this douche bag to me?" Spencer asked protectively, which was a new and sour approach on his personality. My head gestured across the room where seth was wearing a Christmas suit and drinking what appeared to be a glass of champagne.
"The one in the obnoxious suit." I watched as Spence narrowed his eyes, clearly trying to profile him. His eyes raked over his figure, soaking up every detail.
"What an egotistical man." I could have sworn I felt his arm pull me closer.
But I think I'm just anxious.
"Come on, we look weird standing her, let's get some punch." I pulled his arm from my hip, interlocking our fingers and dragging him towards a long table. The man immediately spotted some coffee at the other end.
"I promise I'll be right back, I'm going to get some coffee." He squeezed my hand and let go, making his way there. I grabbed myself a red solo cup and the laddle that lazily hung in the large bowl of punch, raising it to the cup before it was pried from my hands.
"I'll get that for you." The voice made me flinch away slightly. I still held the laddle full of liquid in the air, feeling myself getting annoyed. I slowly grabbed the cup back from his hands.
"I think I can handle pouring my own drink. Thanks." I poured it and brought it to my lips to conceal the inevitably pissy look the was plastered onto it.
"An independent woman, I like that." And with that he turned on his heel and strutted away. I then heard quick footsteps from behind, sounding like some familiar beat up converse.
"Was he talking to you? I'm so sorry I wasn't here! The coffee line was taking a lot longer than I calculated."
"Its okay, I think I handled it really well, just, stay by my side." I rubbed my hand down his shoulder for comfort. He nodded with a sympathetic smile and brought his head down to mine, kissing the top of my head. And in those seconds that he did, I silently hoped that this blush would go away before he saw my face again.
But he didn't comment on it.
I was now introducing him to my friends and loosening up, we drank a little bit of alchohol and got buzzed, which I never thought Spencer would do with me.
I plopped onto one of the couches around the fore place, snuggling into Spencer's chest and biting into a chocolate I recently picked up.
"Its nice to see you loosened up you tight-ass." I giggled, offering him the other half, which was half a random choice and half an experiment to see if he cared about sharing germs with me. He won't take it.
But he did, grabbing it with his teeth and slipping it right into his mouth. I sat, a little flabbergasted.
"What?" He chuckled, chewing the rest of the sweet.
"I thought you didn't like sharing germs?"
"Well it's you, and you're my girlfriend, so why should I care?" It looked like he immediately regretted the comment as the words flee from his slightly buzzed mouth. But before he could make any *further* comment, he was interrupted by our manager.
"The Christmas bells are hung and 3 places to be weary of where you stand too long!" She squealed.
Oh no.
"What are the Christmas bells?" Spencer asked, swerving away from the previous conversation.
"Its an alternative for a mistletoe." I groaned, looking around cautiously for any nearby. "You kiss and the you ring the bell to let people know. It's weird." He nodded in understanding, lifting himself off the couch.
"Want to get another drink madame?" He asked properly, holding his hand out for me to take.
"Why yes of course sir." I laughed, taking his hand as he effortlessly pulled me from the couch to my feet. We headed towards the doorway that led to the half of the room that held the drink table. Just as I took a long stride, my keys fell from my pocket. I looked at the ground for them, not seeing them in the immediate area. Though I felt eyes on me, and they weren't Spencer's. Spencer peered around the doorway.
"Oh! Here they are." He crouched to the ground when I heard footsteps approaching me. I looked to see Seth making a B Line right to me, and I looked up to see two little bells hung above me.
No.
No no.
I leaned down, slightly to Spencer's level.
"Quick. Kiss me." I whispered, grabbing his cheeks and bringing him from his crouched position. I pulled his lips to mine and pushed my hands around his neck and through his hair. I heard him sigh into the kiss, his hands resting on my hips. Just before we pulled apart, I heard the bells ring and saw Spencer's hand reaching at them. He turned to the side, seeing Seth froze dead in his tracks, arms crossed over his chest. I heard small claps come from the others around us.
The seething man turned on his heel and strode away from us quickly, *finally* getting the hint.
I hope.
"Thank you, so much." I giggled, bringing my arms back to my sides slowly. Spencer] stood still, his hands moving slowly to... wherever their destination was.
It seems he couldn't decide.
But he just looked into my eyes, silently.
"You okay?" I laughed, grabbing his hand and pulling it to his own side.
"That was just, very, unexpected." He sighed, looking down at his hands.
"Well I certainly wasn't going to let Seth kiss me."
"Did you want to kiss me?" He blurts, his mouth seemingly making the decisions over his head.
Ah, the dreaded question.
Oh well, might as well get it out.
"Did you wanna kiss me?"
Pussy.
"I asked you first." He pried, quite childishly I may add.
"Fine. Yes." I replied grumpily, averting my eyes from his.
"Good." His hand found mine, intertwining them. "Maybe I can be a real excuse to keep that creep away for the next holiday party?" A smile crept onto his features.
"Definitely."

When everyone woke up that morning, you were all greeted by Coach Foster standing in the middle of the living room, hands on his hips with the teamâs bus driver standing beside him. Wearing the standard black jackals' themed t-shirt and jacket.
âToday youâre going on a trip, go pack your bagsâ those were the only things Coach Foster said, straight to the point and no more opening speeches to begin it with.
Those words barely registered into everyoneâs mind but the moment that their brain did manage to process it. They all dash back into their respective room, grab their suitcases, and stuff their essentials. Everyone was excited, a trip? Like just a normal getaway and not some sort of out of the city training? Hell yes!
They have been dying to have one, because of their new and improvised training regimens. It was rigorous, brutal, but overall worth it because results show it all.
Quickly, they ran downstairs, backpacks on their back, suitcases on their hand. Whilst they try to put on their shirt or shorts all the while sprinting towards the bus. Again, too excited about the trip.
âWhere are we going?â Takato asks as you stood beside him, waiting for the driver to load the luggage into the busâs compartment. Coach Foster remained silent and instead gave you both a smile in reply, patting both of your backs then pushing you towards the vehicleâs entrance.
Watching from the busâs glass window as he waves you all goodbye, you and Takato shared a look. Not having any prior knowledge of your trip was a bit concerning on your parts as managers. However, Coach Foster would not arrange a trip that could potentially harm his players, so you hope that he will send a message when you arrive.
You hope.

âWhere are we?â they look from left to right, as they try to decipher which part of Japan they were dropped off to. Apparently, sleeping during the entire ride was a bad idea, because now, they were standing beside a dirt road.
In front of them were rows and rows of pine trees stretching as far as their eyes could see. Behind them, was a hill with a big wooden building seated on top and a footpath decorated with stone lamps on each side leading towards it.
âPlease tell me thatâs where weâre stayingâ all heads turn to Takato who also has no idea. It was clear to everyone that Coach Foster did not discuss this trip to any of the members, not to the managers nor to the captain himself. Because Shugoâs standing behind the group while scratching his head with an obvious question mark floating above it.
âLetâs go up there and find outâ grabbing their bags, they walk up the stoned footpath, and towards the big wooden building. The hill thankfully was not very steep, they had packed quite a lot of clothing that carrying it uphill might become a problem.
âWowâ
The big wooden building turned out to be a guesthouse, a traditional guesthouse to be exact. It was big and very spacious; from the front porch, alone they could figure out that it was not just a house, but a mansion. From its lavish and intricate designs to the furniture and other decorations placed outside was an obvious sign.
âThis is so cool!â Hinata exclaimed, taking a seat on a wooden swing bench, Bokuto joining him.
âThere might be a caretaker we can talk toâ Inunaki examined one of the potted plants displayed on the wooden deck. The leaves all green and healthy, its soil still wet, meaning someone was just here a while ago.
âLook at that beautiful home!â all heads turn to see the Adlersâ team reaching the peak of the hill, their bags in hand as they walk towards the open area in front of the house.
After noticing that they were not the only ones there, they pause in their tracks as they stared at each other. Their reactions a mix of surprise, confusion, and delight.
âLet me guess, Coach Suzaku surprise you when you woke upâ Shugo watch as the rest of the Adlers members drops their bags on the wooden floor. Fukuro nodded his head, sitting down as he pulled his jacket closer to his body.
âCoach Foster too?â
âYeahâ
âI donât get thisâ you look up at Takato as he stared at his phone, dialing Coach Fosterâs number while his other hand scratch his head. âAre we supposed to share this trip with Schweiden?â
âIâm not sureâ Takato answered, before he held up a finger, bringing his phone on his ear. Walking away from the group as he talks to the person on the other line.
You just stood there, wringing your fingers together as you watch them interact with each other. They may be rivals on the court, dead set on beating each other on volleyball, but once they are outside they actually get along quite well. Although, there is still an air of competitiveness floating around, what more could you expect from a bunch of pro athletes?
âListen up everyoneâ Takato called out, pocketing his phone as he went back to gather with the group. âI just called Coach Foster and he said that this was prepared by both him and Coach Suzaku. He didnât say anything else, other than weâll be staying here for a week, to enjoy this trip, and to keep the damage to a minimumâ
In the last part, the eyes of the older ones immediately turned to look at the troublesome younger players. If there was one thing they could all agree, itâs that their younger members were by far the most chaotic people theyâve met. After knowing each other since their high school years, they all have become so comfortable enough to show their true colors.
âDid he say who owns this mansion?â Tatsuto voiced out the question that was on everyoneâs mind the moment they saw it. Surely, the house must have belonged to a close friend of their coach, or maybe another generous sponsor. It didnât matter much, they just want to know the name of the owner.
Takato shook his head. âHe didnât say anything, but Iâm assuming itâs a mutual friend of theirsâ
They accepted that explanation and didnât question any further, who were they to complain? Everythingâs free, and their coach themselves said to enjoy, so they were going to enjoy their one-week break from their training.
They went inside the house, each one of them letting out a sound of amazement at the interior. The living room was the most spacious part of the house, in the middle was a sofa with two love seats of both sides and a coffee table in the middle.
In front of the sofa were a fireplace and a flat-screen TV installed on top of it. On both sides of the fireplace were two hallways leading to the deeper parts of the huge house, and on both sides of the living room were two sliding doors leading to the garden.
âThere are nine bedrooms in total so we have to sleep by pair. (Y/n) gets to have a room of her own of courseâ
From behind Sakusaâs mask, Takato could see the way his lips just bend downward. Clearly not happy having to share a room with anyone, not totally convince that they are free of germs.
âThereâs also a hot spring at the back areaâŠâ Takato trailed off as he stared at the text Coach Foster sent him.
âA hot spring?!â Bokuto and Hoshiumi jump from their seat in excitement, wide eyes staring expectantly at Takato for confirmation.
âYes thatâs what it says hereâ
âWhoever owns this place must be crazy richâ Inunaki mumbled as Adriah nodded beside him, agreeing to the liberoâs words. Of course, they must be rich, only those with money can afford to build their own home a personal hot spring after all.
âLetâs just go to our own rooms and weâll discuss the rest once weâve settledâ
They nodded their head, grabbing their bag and making their way towards the area where the bedrooms were located along with their preferred roommate. Each one choosing which room they like best, you walk past Hinata and Kageyama who were fighting with Atsumu and Hoshiumi for the bedroom with direct access to the gardens.
You just shook your head at their squabbling, adjusting your backpack on your shoulder. Finally choosing your room, you opened the door just a little bit to see if itâs occupied. It wasnât, opening the door a little wider you gave a wave and a smile to Fukuro and Toshiro who walk past before you continue to drag your suitcase inside.
The room didnât have much furniture in it aside from the wooden cabinet on the side, and a wooden table on the other. With another door for the bathroom. You pushed your suitcase towards the cabinet and opened it; the futon, blanket, and pillows you are going to use later were inside. Neatly arranged in a pile.
You quickly unpack your bag, placing your clothes inside the cabinet, and just as youâre stacking the last piece of shirt inside. You heard Bokutoâs laughter in the room beside yours, meaning he and Takato were in the room next door.
Once you were finished, you stood up and walk out of the room towards the kitchen to check if there were any groceries. Takato was already there going through the fridge, while Shugo and Fukuro were checking the cupboards.
âThe good thing is we have groceriesâ Takato closed the fridge, looking over to Shugo and Fukuro who are still going through the rest of the cupboards. âTheyâve just been brought in this morning by the caretaker, but I doubt itâll last us a weekâ
âThere are canned goods over hereâ Fukuro patted the four cupboards, he was just checking earlier.
âI saw like 3 packs of pasta here along with some spicesâ Shugo gestures to the remaining cabinets.
âWe could buy some from the farmers hereâ you shrug your shoulders, leaning on the table.
Takato nodded his head. âWe will look for anyone selling tomorrow, for now, letâs restâ
All three of you nodded your head at his words and left the kitchen. Walking back to your rooms to get that much-needed sleep, and shoo away the fatigue from that long travel.

âAh~ I could get used to thisâ Adriah closed his eyes in content, resting his arms on the edge of the pool. The warm water rippling around his body as it calms him and his tense muscles, the effects of the training from a few days ago still evident on his body.
âI could stay here all nightâ Toshiro rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck. Those familiar sounds of joints popping reaching his ears.
The hot springs were most definitely one of the best spots in the house, and everyone could agree to it. Just sitting on the poolâs rock floors, with warm water to soothe their bodies and the peacefulness of it all were just purely therapeutic.
âI might just build myself my own private hot spring if I get to feel this relax every dayâ Shugo states, as he runs a hand through his wet hair.
âInvite me sometimes when you doâ Nicollas replied from beside him, eyes scanning the space they were currently in until they landed on Sakusa situated on the farthest side of the pool. With Ushijima accompanying him. âKiyoomi, are you alright over there?â
Sakusa just nods his head in response before resuming his conversation with Ushijima, Nicollas was worried that he had made the Sakusa uncomfortable by persuading him to join everyone at the hot springs. When Takato had suggested that they would enjoy the hot spring together, Sakusa was the only one to deny and instead prefers he use their bedroomâs bath instead.
However, Nicollas wanted to spend time with all of them, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity after all. Their team may be rivals in sport but thereâs nothing stopping him from making friends outside of it.
âSeeing you with your hair down is so weird, Kotaroâ Tatsuto observes the multi-colored locks. âYou look like a completely different personâ
Bokuto laughs, his voice echoing throughout the huge bath. âI do?â
Takato chuckled, before adding. âThe first time I saw you, I thought I was looking at a strangerâ
âGahahaha Kageyama you shouldâve seen your face!â All three men hear Hinataâs loud laugh. Turning their heads, they saw him pointing at the setter after splashing his face with some water. His hair, sticking to his forehead. Kageyama glared at his former teammate, before placing his hand on top of Hinataâs head and pushing him down.
âTake that you idiotâ Kageyama smirk watching as bubbles float around the area where Hinata was earlier. Removing his hand, Hinata shot up, splashing him again, pouting.
âBakeyama! I couldâve diedâ
âCarefulâ Takato reminded as Hoshiumi push them both down into the water, cackling as he and Atsumu share a high five.
Takato let out a sigh before he remembers that their other manager was alone on the other side of the wooden divider. Moving a little closer to the wall, he gave it a few taps before he called out.

â(Y/n)? are you okay over there?â
âIâm fine, Takato-san!â you replied before a shriek from the other side was heard, followed by Hinata and Hoshiumiâs laughter.
âI wonder what theyâre up to now?â
You thought as you try to listen to the commotion happening from the other side.
âShoyo-kun, Korai-kun. Gimme back my towel!â
âAtsumu, you might wanna cover your junkâ
A few rounds of laughter was heard, Atsumu screaming for Hinata and Hoshiumi to give back his towel before Takato spoke to you again. âYou were so quiet; I thought something happened to youâ
âIâm fineâ
You rest your head on the edge of the pool, a warm towel over your eyes. Listening to the voices coming from the other side.
Flapping noises reach your ears, a hooting sound followed right after. You remove the towel, wanting to see what it is. There, at the top of the wooden wall was an owl, a barred owl to be exact. Looking down at you, its head cock sideward.
âOh myâ you slowly leaned forward, wanting to have a closer look at the creature. âHelloâ
It let out another hoot as if responding to your greeting. You chuckled, this was the first time you have ever encounter an owl out in the wild, you have seen them in zoos or sanctuaries before, but in the wind? Today was a first.
âYou look so beautifulâ you continue to observe it a little more, it doesnât seem to be bothered by your staring though. Whenever you would tilt your head to one side, it would mimic it. Whenever you spoke to it, it would give a hoot in response; you look like an idiot for talking to an animal.
You were thankful that it was just you over there. Although, youâre sure that the guys could hear you.
âWhere are your friends?â
As if on cue, another one landed beside it, your eyes widened. Its familiar black and white feathers and the little horns at the top on its head reminding you of a certain someone.
âNo wayâ you wanted to laugh aloud at the coincidence, a barred owl and a horned owl sitting side by side together. Watching you bathe, somehow this duo just reminds you of a certain duo as well, the ones you have spent your high school with.
âWhy didnât I bring my phone with me?â you muttered to yourself. You really wanted to take a picture of them and show it to Bokuto later, you were sure he was going to be ecstatic about it.
You watch as the horned owl moved closer, preening the barred owlâs feathers. You press your hands on your mouth to stop the loud squeal from leaving your lips. That was just so cute, are these two a couple? You were hoping they were.
âBest day everâ you sighed in content, watching as they jump around the wooden fence, flapping their wings occasionally. Not only did you wake to the news of going on a trip, but you also get to stay at a wonderful mansion as well, and you have two owls keep you company. If thatâs not considered a great day, then I donât know what is.
âHm? Are you two leaving now?â their heads were turned towards the thick body of trees just outside of the wooden fence. Flapping their wings a few times, before they eventually flew away. Their bodies disappearing into the night.
âBye, see you againâ you wave, hearing one last hoot from them before it became quiet once again. Even the chatter from the other side had stopped.
Did they go back to their rooms already?
â(Y/n)? Have you gone loco?â
You giggled at Hinataâs question, his voice lace with genuine worry. You had not realized that they had stopped talking to one another and decided to listen to you instead.
âIâm alright Hinataâ

The next morning, you were awoken from your sleep by a series of knocks on your door. You turn around, pulling your blanket over your head, the knocking continued and it seemed like it would not stop.
You crawled over to the door and opened it. Atsumuâs grinning face greets you, you almost slammed it shut but a hand prevented you from doing that.
âGet up, weâre going on a runâ Atsumu opened your door further, to reveal the rest of the monster generation waiting outside. You just stared at them, still half asleep, observing through sleepy eyes their attire. They are already changed into some track pants, shorts, shirts, jackets, and running shoes.
âWhy?â
âFor exercise (Y/n)!â Hoshiumi replied, a little too loud for your liking. You deadpan at them, a look on your face clearly saying. âSeriously?â
They seem to be determined though to get you to join them. Although itâs just Atsumu, Bokuto, Hinata, and Hoshiumi, the rest didnât really care much. You let out a sigh.
âAlright, give me a few minutesâ
âGreat! See you out front!â
Then the door slammed shut, you rub your temples, staring at your futon longingly. You really wanted to get back to bed, but you were sure that if you do, they would probably come back and drag you out. You slip into a pair of track pants, sweater, and running shoes. Brushing your hair, you tied it into a ponytail, then spraying yourself some cologne before walking out into the front porch.
âI thought you went back to sleepâ Takato laugh at the look on your face, waking up early was not exactly your forte. You would pretty much prefer to claim every second of sleep you could get. Now that the team was on break, he was sure you were hoping to sleep in. However, that does not seem to be the case today.
âWhy am I doing this too?â you yawned, squinting your eyes a little. It was still a bit dark, the only source of light was from the lamps near the footpath and the light installed at the porch.
âAlright everyone stretches first!â
You copied their routine counting along with them. The warm-up exercises were slowly helping you dispel the sleepiness you were still feeling, your joints cracking with every bend of your limbs. When that was done, each one chose their jogging buddy before going down the footpath.
You joined along with Nicollas, Takato, and Oliver. Listening to them discuss family stuff.
âIs your wife going to be okay on her own, Takato?â Nicollasâ face twist in worry, having experienced the fear of having a pregnant wife alone at home. âSheâs eight months along now, right?â
Takato nodded his head, as you fastened your pace a little. âSheâs with her parents right now, so sheâs fine. I also visit her during the weekendsâ
Nicollas hums before turning to Oliver. âYou also visit your family as well right Oliver?â
âOn the weekends I go home to themâ
Nicollas let out a groan. âI envy you two; I havenât seen my wife and son in six months. I miss themâ he sniffled, as you stretch out your hand to pat his back in comfort. Going to another country for work has many cons, you get to leave your family behind, and not see or touch them for long periods of time.
You could imagine just how upset he must be, to not be able to see his family.
âHow about you (Y/n)?â Oliver turns to you, as you look up at him. âI havenât seen you visit your family beforeâ
All three men turn to you as they waited for your reply, their pace steadily matching those who were in front. Just to make sure, the group stays together.
âMy family migrated to (c/n) when I started college. So I canât really visit them wheneverâ
âOh (Y/n), you must really miss them huh?â Nicollas rest a hand on your head, sharing the same sentiment as you. Unable to be in close contact with their family.
âThere are times where I just want my momâ you laugh, feeling embarrassed at the prospect of still relying on your mother even though you were already in your early twenties. âI just want to taste her cooking againâ
All three men express their agreement at your words, also feeling the same. No matter how old they may be, there is still that longing of wanting to feel their motherâs love again.
âNow Iâm also starting to miss my momâ
The four of you fell silent; now enjoying the scenery you are passing by, on your left and right were rows of rice field. The crops have grown quite well and ready for harvest, you may not have like it that you were woken up at 4 am but you were grateful in the least.
It was peaceful, the breath of fresh air, the spectacular view. You canât experience something like this in the city.
âHey look!â Bokuto held up his hand and pointed to the mountains, the sun slowly rising up from behind the two landmasses. Everyone stops in their tracks to admire the wonderful sight.
âBeautifulâ Toshiro whispered, holding up his phone and snapping a few photos of the sun. Saving the picture for when he will upload it later on his socials.
The sun slowly moves out of its hiding spot, its rays gently covering the croplands with its warmth. Drying the morning dew that came from the previously cold night.
âI guess itâs time we go backâ Shugo suggested and everyone started stretching their bodies once again. Preparing themselves for another long run.
âIâll race you there Kageyamaâ Hinata jumps on his spot. The setter shot him a smirk, accepting his challenge as he cracks his neck.
âWoah, Woah. Weâre jogging, not racingâ Atsumu reminded them when he saw that they were serious. âNo oneâs racing anyoneâ
âLast one back to the house will have to eat a handful of jalapeñosâ Hoshiumi added, ignoring what Atsumu just said earlier.
âAnd where are you going to get these jalapeños?â Sakusa rolled his feet, both hands on his hips.
âI saw a bunch of them planted at the houseâs backyardâ Hoshiumi replied, preparing himself as he positioned his body.
âAlright, letâs do this!â They immediately dash away. Leaving Atsumu in the dust, coughing at the dirt that he accidentally inhaled.
âTsum-Tsum! You better start running or else youâll be eating those jalapeños later!â Atsumu curse under his breath before running after them, catching up in no time.
The rest of the members that were left behind just blink, watching as they quickly disappear from their line of sight. You let out a sigh, knowing well that you need to go after them to make sure those idiots donât do anything stupid.
Even though Sakusa and Ushijima - the more responsible ones - are present. They also get swept away by challenges that they sometimes join in as well, and today was just an example.
âIâll go after themâ you run, mentally thanking your PE teacher for having you run laps around the track field almost every day. Because now, it had proven to be very useful.
âThat girlâs a blessing, donât you agree?â Tatsuto looks to them as they nodded their head. The black jackalsâ members witnessing firsthand how (Y/n)âs inclusion in the team had helped them keep everyone under control.
They started making their way back home, going at their own pace. Passing by some of the residents who were now up and about their day. Some were on their way to check their crops, while others were on their way to go out into town.
Once they reach the house, they immediately went into the kitchen to see you already washing the rice. âWhere are they?â Inunaki opens the fridge, taking a bottle of water and drinking it.
âOver thereâ you gestured to the open door leading towards the garden, they peek through the door just in time to see Hinata stuff his mouth with a handful of chili. The others watching him with interest as he chews the spicy plant.
âThey were actually serious?â Adriah questioned in disbelief, watching as Kageyama did the same thing Hinata had done earlier. âI thought they were just jokingâ
âAt this point, Iâm not even surprised anymoreâ
They step aside as the two ran through the door and towards the fridge, frantically gulping down some cold water to help the pain from the spiciness.
âSakusa, Ushijima. Why didnât you two stop them?â
âWe did try to stop themâ Ushijima answered, watching as Hinata fans his mouth with his hand as he took in deep breaths. âBut they refuse to listenâ
âSomething about their manly pride at risk if ever they donât do it or whatever it wasâ Sakusa shrugs his shoulders before he and Ushijima went back to their shared room to change.

âIs it this one?â Kageyama gestures to the river in front of him, looking over his shoulder as the rest slowly emerges from the canopy of trees.
âYes, this is the oneâ Takato place the bucket on the stone covered ground, wiping the sweat running down his face. While they were eating breakfast earlier, Coach Foster sent another text saying that there was a river a few kilometers away from the mansion. With many fishes swimming by and that they can go there and catch some fresh fish if they want to.
Since half of them have never gone fishing before, mainly the younger ones. They collectively agreed that after breakfast they would go to the river, catch some fish, and maybe enjoy a little bit of nature.
âThe water is so clearâ you crouch down near the riverbank, running your hand through the cold water. The riverâs current is not very fast so it was safe to go down there and cool down if ever the heat becomes too much.
âAlright, boys! Letâs catch some fishâ Nicollas seems to be overly enthusiastic about this, the man looks so happy to be fishing.
There were not enough fishing rod for everyone, so some had decided to forego them and chose to catch the fish by hand instead. The group split into two, those with the fishing rods stayed in the same area while the rest moved a bit farther away.
âThe mosquitos here are so unforgiving, sheeshâ Inunaki hand landed on a particularly big mosquito on his arm. The insect squash in between his palm and wrist, with its blood, splattered on his skin.
âI have some insect repellent here in my bagâ you sat down on one of the rocks, rummaging through your bag and pulling out two spray bottles of insect repellent. Giving one to Inunaki who started spraying the area around him, before giving it to Sakusa who quickly sprayed his body. Just the thought of insects and other disease-carrying pests landing on him or even just biting him makes his skin crawl.
âAh Wakatoshi, you got something!â Ushijima grips the rod tighter as he pulled it back. The end bending down at the weight of a possible fish caught at the end of the line. With a flick of his arms, the fish finally jump out of the water, wiggling its tail as it grips the bait in its mouth.
âOh~â it was a catfish, a big one about the size of one forearm. Ushijima drops the fish in the bucket you gave him as he took another bait from the can and swings the fishing rod back to the water.
The rest stared at their respective floaters, calmly floating above the water, still no signs of it attracting the fishes. They could see the silhouette from their spot, but somehow it seems like the fishes are not satisfied with a bait they offered.
âI think they donât like itâ Adriah muttered as he watches the fish swam past his rod and into the other end of the river. Towards the area when the rest were channeling their inner bear skills.
âShould we go join them? They seem to have caught a lot alreadyâ Toshiro pointed to where the rest were concentrating on catching some fishes. They watch as Hinata crouches down tongue struck out in concentration, hands ready, before it strikes fast into the water. Effectively catching a fish.
âHeiwajima-san, you got somethingâ you tap on the liberoâs shoulder as he immediately focuses his attention on his fishing rod. He stood up, grab the handle, and started pulling, excited for what it caught.
âThe hell?â it was a clump of algae, with sticks sticking out on the sides. The fish that he hopes to be at the end of that line was nowhere to be found.
âThe fish outsmarted youâ Nicollas pats Toshiroâs back in consolation, as he too is yet to catch his own.
Meanwhile on the other end of the river, just like their other teammates. Some were blessed some were not.
âI mean, catching them wouldnât be hard right?â Fukuro eyed the fish swimming around his feet. Slowly, he leaned down, before striking his hands into the water to catch the fish, unfortunately though, it swam away.
Shugo snorted, leaning on the rock to balance himself. âThis isnât some sort of survival show; catching one wouldnât be that easyâ
âOh! Kotaro nice one!â they heard Tatsuto exclaimed, looking over to where they were. They saw Bokuto holding out a big fish with both hands, a wide grin on his face, proud of his catch.
âGood job! Korai, Shoyo!â Oliverâs voice followed, the two mentioned players holding their own fish, as they carefully wade through the water as you stood at the edge of the river. Holding out the bucket for them to drop the fish inside.
Fukuro shot Shugo a look. âYou were saying?â
âNevermindâ
The two captains went back to whatever they were doing, determined to catch some fish.
âI think thereâs a high chance weâll catch some on the deeper parts Tobio-kunâ Atsumu pointed to an area that was a bit darker than the rest of the riverâs area. As he slowly walks over to it.
âIsnât that a bit dangerous though Atsumu-san?â Kageyama followed behind the older man, as Atsumu waves his hand. Dismissing the younger playerâs previous worry.
âAtsumu, Tobio be carefulâ Oliver called out from the side when he saw them going closer to the parts where there were a lot of rocks protruding.
âItâs fine, itâs fi- ack!â Atsumu stepped on a slippery rock, losing his footing as his body crash into the water. Disappearing into the dark pools.
âAtsumu-san?!â Kageyama stared wide-eyed to where Atsumu was just standing earlier. Atsumu had slipped on a much deeper area of the river, and he doesnât really know what was down there.
Atsumu emerges, shaking his hair, running a hand on his face to wipe off the running water. âGreat, now Iâm wetâ
He walks towards the shore, the water dripping off of his body and down on the ground.
âTold you to be carefulâ Inunaki handed him a towel, thankfully. You had prepared towels and extra clothes for everyone in case an accident like Atsumuâs would ever happen. Although the house isnât too far away, it wouldnât hurt to be prepared just in case.
âI feel like water went inside my earâ Atsumu mumbled, as you place the bag you brought with you in front of him. He crouches down, pulling out his spare shirt and shorts, before pulling his wet t-shirt over his head.
âUh⊠Atsumu?â Toshiro stared at his back wide-eyed, waving your over then pointing at whatever he saw. A gasp leaving your lips.
âYes? Heiwajima-san what is it?â Atsumu looks over his shoulder, by now Sakusa and Ushijima walk over. Staring at his back in a mix of disgust and fear.
âMiya, do you feel anything?â Atsumuâs eyebrows furrowed at Sakusaâs question.
âWhat?â
âAtsumu, touch your backâ the setter followed Ushijimaâs simple instruction; carefully he reaches behind his back, patting it before his hand landed over something slimy. His eyes widened, turning around and looking at them in shock.
âWhat the fuck was that?!â
His outburst caught the others' attention and went over to him.
âAtsumu-san, y-your backâ Hinata stuttered in fear, watching as the animal clung on his teammates back. âThereâs a leech on your backâ
âLeeches actuallyâ you corrected, shuddering.
âThereâs more than one?!â
âAtsumu, hold stillâ Takato push him back down to sit on the ground, a Swiss knife on his hand.
âGet them off, get them offâ
Nicollas and Toshiro went over to assist him. While those who were in the river earlier, immediately started checking their whole body in fear that they too had one.
âThis might helpâ you pulled out a jar of salt from your bag and grab a handful of it before drizzling them on top of the leeches sucking on Atsumuâs back. Their screeches, reaching your ears as their hold on the skin loosened.
âWhy do you have salt with you?â Toshiro asks, as you grab another handful and covered the one that Takato successfully removed, killing it.
âI actually donât knowâ you laugh, covering the last one with salt, killing it. âI think I accidentally grabbed it earlierâ
âIs it gone? Did you get them all?â Atsumu shakily lifts a hand, running it over his back. Letting out a sigh in relief.
âAnyone?â Takato looks to the others as they shook their head; thankfully, none of them was a victim.
âHow did it feel Tsum-Tsum?â Bokuto crouches down beside him, as Atsumu shuddered, remembering how he could feel its tiny teeth sinking into his skin and sucking his blood.
âHorribleâ
No one went back into the river after that and instead opted to switch using the fishing rod. They stayed there until the sun was high up, and the heat becomes too much for them, so they made their way back towards the house to prepare their food.

âWhat are they doing?â Takato observes with curiosity the younger members of the team as they gather in the middle of the living room. With you standing in front and doing weird gestures.
âCharades, I thinkâ from their spot on the deck, they watch with interest how you tried to act out the word youâve gotten. They arenât sure if this is a competition or not, the group wasnât exactly split into teams.
You draw a ball on the air, and just as you were about to add another figure. They all collectively answered. âVolleyball!â
Shugo and Fukuro laugh at the exasperated look on your face.
âDo they have anything else on their head aside from volleyball?â Nicollas shook his head, chuckling. Taking a sip of his tea as he watches you act out the word again.
You draw another ball on the air, then drop it on the ground, and started doing a kicking motion with your foot.
âSoccer!â you shook your head. Bokuto crosses his arms, furrowing his eyebrows as he tries his hardest to guess what it is.
âItâs not soccer?â Ushijima asks as you shook your head at his question. Before doing the kicking motion with your feet again then gesturing to the whole living room area.
âWhat?â
You pointed to the view outside and made an x mark with your hands, then gestured to the whole living room and did an okay sign.
âSo itâs soccer but indoorsâŠ?â Hinata trailed off, as you excitedly nodded your head and urge him to find the right word for it. âI donât knowâ
âFutsal?â Sakusa added as you clap your hands at him, finally happy that you could move on to another word.
âWhatâs futsal?â both setters questioned as you took another piece of paper from the bowl you placed on the coffee table.
âItâs basically indoor soccer, but the rules are different. Iâm not good with explanations but you can search it up once we go backâ you pulled out the paper, and on it âlittle giantâ is written.
You stared at the paper for a few minutes. When you ask them earlier to write down random words on the pieces of paper you gave them, you didnât expect their choices to be quite hard to act out.
You sighed then pointed at Hinata and Hoshiumi, and gestured to their whole body.
âShort?â
âHey!â Hoshiumi kicks Atsumu on the leg as the setter glares at him in response.
You shook your head at the answer.
âTiny?â you settled with that one then you pointed to Oliver. The tallest person within the group.
âTall?â
âBig?â
âBald?â
âAtsumu, I heard that!â Oliverâs voice boomed from the outer deck as Atsumu flinch. Not expecting him to hear it all.
âGiant?â you nodded your head at Hinata, before he immediately understood what the word was. âTiny giant?... no little giant!â
âYesâ
You sat down on the floor, crossing your legs. âLetâs play another game, my hands and feet are tiredâ
âI think itâs best we all go to bed, that was enough brain exerciseâ
Everyone stood up, saying their good nights before going back to their own room.

The next day you were once again woken up at an hour earlier than intended, not because someone was at your door. But because of that rooster crowing endlessly since 1 in the morning. You werenât bothered by it a few hours ago, but now at this very moment, you want nothing more than wish for it to shut up. Itâs so loud too, every time it crows a few more follows.
âThese damn chickensâ you sat upon your bed, grumbling. Your sleep ruined, listening to them flap their wings a few more times before letting out the signature cock-a-doodle-doo.
You got out of bed and went to the kitchen instead, a delicious cup of coffee now on your mind. You entered the said room and found Takato already sitting in the table reading a newspaper.
âGood morningâ he greeted, that smile on his face had you wishing you were a morning person like him. You could do so much more when youâre up the moment the sun starts rising.
âMorning Takato-sanâ you took the kettle and filled it with water, before putting it on the stove and turning it on.
âAh, Coach Foster sent me a text last nightâ he turned on his chair to look at you. âHe said he had to cut our break short, the doctor wanted to do the medical check-up for this month a little early. So Coach weâll be sending the bus to come get us tomorrowâ
âSchweiden too?â
âYes, Coach Suzaku doesnât trust his team without anyone else to look after themâ
You laugh, turning off the stove, and pouring hot water on the mug you prepared. âHe doesnât trust his players unsupervised?â
âNoâ
You started preparing your drink as Takato continues reading the newspaper, flipping through the pages every few minutes, whilst drinking his own cup of warm beverage. Sitting down, you stirred your coffee, your ears capturing the footsteps approaching the room youâre in.
âThese mosquitos are killing meâ Kageyama enters the kitchen, scratching his arm, his nails leaving traces of red marks as he rubs off the itch left by the insects. A thin layer of skin peeling off at how harsh heâs been rubbing, but he seemed unfazed by it though. All he wants was for the itch to disappear. âThe rooster too, I canât sleep with it so noisyâ
âYou too? I thought it was just me, the others donât seem to mind thoughâ
More bodies entered the kitchen. Yawning and rubbing the sleep from their eyes.
âI swear if I see that chicken Iâm going to cook itâ Hoshiumi grumbled, flopping down on the empty chair beside Takato. Resting his head on the table as he closes his eyes.
âRight? I canât sleep with it cock-a-doodlinâ every few minutesâ
Each one of them took an empty chair and sat down on it. Waiting for the water Kageyama was heating up so they could have their own cup of their preferred drink.
âI guess us leaving tomorrow is good news thenâ
Everyone perks up at that, now alert, properly awake, and their faces sporting questioning looks. âWe are?â
Takato nods. âMSBYâs monthly check-up was rescheduled to an earlier date-â he points to the Adlerâs team members. â-and Coach Suzaku wants them home too. He said he doesnât trust them aloneâ
As expected, the reactions were a mixture of disappointment and relief. Some still wanted to stay, while the others were already excited to go back home.
âWell, what are we going to do today?â
âRemember the old couple we met in one of our jogs?â
Everyone nods their head. âI saw them again yesterday, and they invited us to come to their farm to visit. Itâs not too far from hereâ
âSounds goodâ
With that, they prepared their breakfast settling on a light meal. Cleaned themselves up and walk to where the farm the located.
The farmland was wide, rows and rows of vegetables neatly planted side by side, fruit trees standing high and proud. Aside from that, they raise animals as well; pigs, chickens, fishes, and cows. All these crops and produce were either sold to whoever comes to visit their farm - or sent to the market.
âThis is such a beautiful place Hisano-san, Jiro-sanâ Hisano âone of the owners- smiled, with her husband Jiro standing beside her.
âThank youâ
Everyone volunteered to help the couple around their farm, just so it would lessen the stress on their old body.
You stayed near the farmhouse, Hisano was about to collect the eggs from the chicken and she needed the extra hand. You, Bokuto, and Atsumu volunteered to go inside the coop to collect them all whilst Hisano stays outside to collect the baskets.
âBokuto-san, careful. That hen doesnât look too happy to see youâ you warned, eyeing the hen that was already standing on her nest, feathers spread out in a threat, ready to defend her eggs if needed.
âItâll be fineâ Bokuto reassured you, slowly approaching the animal.
â(Y/n)âs right Bokkun, ya might wanna go to another one firstâ Atsumu moved to the deeper part of the coop. While you collect the eggs from the chicken that was just beside Bokutoâs.
Bokuto crouch down, the chicken following his movements. He stretches his hand to take the egg at the edge of the nest when the hen pecks his arm.
âOw hey!â
âTold ya to go to another oneâ you heard Atsumu say from the back as you turn to Bokuto nursing the spot where the henâs beak hit, the bruise glowing red.
You expected him to move to another one, but Bokuto being Bokuto, he can be very persistent at times. As expected, he stayed on his spot, having a staredown with the chicken.
âOkay here, listenâ he started, eyes never leaving the animal. âI mean no harm I just want t- ow stop that!â
You sighed, shaking your head then standing up from your spot as you walk towards the door. Passing the basket towards Hisano, then grabbing another empty one. Bokuto still has not gathered at least one egg, and now he seems to be giving that chicken a lecture.
âBokkun, youâve gone nutsâ Atsumu said as he walks past him, fortunately after 4 failed attempts. The chicken has had enough and just let him take the eggs. Bokuto happily collected them all, saying a little thank you, gave her a few pats on the head before giving the basket to Hisano waiting by the door.
You stood there dumbfounded, staring at the chicken that had a beef with Bokuto earlier. Now calm, and sleeping on her nests.
âWhat just happened?â
The three of you continued to collect the eggs, filling up basket after basket with the produce. Until only one hen was left, and she seems to be more aggressive than the one Bokuto dealt with earlier.
âCalm down Iâm not gonna hurt yaâ
You and Bokuto stood behind Atsumu, watching at the hen spread her feathers even wider. Angry eyes staring at his colored hair, Atsumu didnât notice though, too focus on the eggs that were near his reach.
âWhat the â ow!â the chicken seems to dislike Atsumuâs hair and it now pecking it endlessly, the blond Miya shooing her away, but failed.
âGah! (Y/n) you deal with this one!â Atsumu pushed you towards the hen as you instinctively held up your hands in defense. Afraid that it might start attacking you as well. You kneeled down, carefully you took the eggs, all the while making sure she doesnât peck your eyes out.
âThank you for the helpâ Hisano says as she accepts the last batch of eggs, arranging them in the tray. Then moving the trays inside the farmhouse so it could be pick up later.
You walk over to where Adriah and Sakusa were washing up the vegetables, a crate on their respective side of the sink filled with the freshly washed vegetables.
âThose cherry tomatoes look so yummyâ
âRight? Theyâre tasty tooâ Adriah gave you one as you took a bite of it, popping one into his mouth as he chews on the fruit. Ushijima and Kageyama arrive with another batch of eggplants and cabbages. Placing the crates near the sink.
âUshijima-san, Kageyama. Have you tried these?â You pointed to the tomatoes, Adriah pouring the last batches of tomatoes was washing.
Kageyama took a smaller one, chewing on it as he hums at the flavor. âIt actually tastes niceâ
âThey areâ Ushijima added.
âDonât eat too much of those yet, they need to be sorted first. Some might have worms in themâ Sakusa reminded as you both nodded your head. He took a few pieces of eggplants them putting them under the running water.
â(Y/n)!â Bokuto calls you, as you turn to where he and Atsumu were standing. Carrying a hook and some crates. âHinata and the others needed help with the mangoes, can you come with us?â
You jog over to them and walk towards the area where the mangoes were planted.
âThose mangoes look really deliciousâ you stood beside Nicollas, looking up the tree while holding a crate. The mango fruits dangling by the branches were big, the tip was starting to ripen up, the perfect time to harvest them.
âThey are arenât they?â Nicollas watches as Hinata and Hoshiumi started climbing the tree. âShoyo, Korai, careful.â
âWhy are they climbinâ? they could just use this insteadâ Atsumu tap the hook with a net strap on it. He and Bokuto standing in front of another mango tree just beside the one Hinata and Hoshiumi were climbing.
âI dunno âbout you âTsum-Tsum, it looks kinda funâ Bokuto grabs onto a nearby branch and uses it to hoist himself up. Atsumu facepalmed, letting go of the hook and grabbing the crate instead.
Mango after mango was thrown at you as you try to catch them all, running left and right to make sure they wouldn't hit the ground. From the other tree, you could hear Bokuto shouting. "Nice receive!" to Atsumu when the setter would run to catch the mangoes he would accidentally throw a bit farther than intended.
"This isn't volleyball practice boys" Nicollas laughs before easily catching a mango Hinata dropped.
"Nice receive" you clap as the Brazilian man lets out another hearty laugh.
You look up to Hinata and Hoshiumi again, the two climbing to another branch, to get the rest of the fruit that was at the top.
â(Y/n), do you hear that?â Nicollas taps you on the shoulder as you look at him.
âHear what?â you look around for anything he could mean, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. There wasn't anyone else there either, just the 6 of you. The others were back near the farmhouse.
âItâs some sort of buzzingâ He explained as you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. A buzzing? You look around the rows of mango trees, carefully observing each branch. Before you finally saw what he meant.
âUhâŠâ you tug on Nicollasâ shirt, he turned to you pointing at the big beehive at the end of the branch Hinata and Hoshiumi were standing at.
âOh dearâ his eyes widened, slowly the both of you started stepping backwards.
âHinata get that oneâ Hoshiumi pointed to the mango just above Hinata, the orange-haired male stretch his arms. But because of his lack of height, it prevented him from reaching it.
âOi donât jump, youâll fallâ Hoshiumi warned when he saw Hinata crouch down.
âDonât worry Hoshiumi-san. Iâll be fineâ Hinata readied himself before he jumps up, wrapping his hand around the fruit, plucking it from the branch.
âShoyo, donât do thatâ Nicollas warned, pausing in his tracks. However, you were not staying there any longer, not when that beehive is so close to falling.
You saw Ushijima enters the opening to the mango plantation, about to assist in carrying the crates back to the farmhouse. âIs something wrong (Y/n)?â
You silently pointed to the beehive that was ready to fall, taking hold of his arm and pulling him away and back to the house.
âShould we tell them?â he asks you again, but you shook your head. Nicollas could deal with it.
âWhere are the others?â Oliver notices that it was just you and Ushijima who came back.
âWeâll hear from them laterâ Oliver tilted his head at your answer before a scream from the distance reached his ears. He turns around to see Atsumu, Bokuto, Nicollas, Hoshiumi, and Hinata emerge from the trees, a swarm of bees chasing after them.
âFuck! Fuck! Fuck!â
âKorai-kun this is yer fault!â Atsumu screamed the white-haired male that was running beside him snaps his head to glare at the blond.
âHaaaah?! I wasnât the only one up there you idiot!â Hoshiumi bites back. âBesides wasnât it Hinata who thought that jumping on the branch was a bright idea?!â
âIt was bright at first! Iâm sorry!â
âNow, now. We must not point fingersâ Nicollas tried to calm them down. âAlthough, this is Shoyo and Koraiâs faultâ
âNicollas-san?!â
You all watch from the sideline as they round the pigpen. Hinata jumping over the fence, running across the inside of the pen before jumping out again.
âShould we help them?â Takato asks in worry, watching, as the bees were so close to reaching the five men.
âAnd risk getting stung? No way!â Inunaki vigorously shook his head and the others agreed with him.
âMiya-san jump in the fish pond!â you shouted, as they run towards the pond.
Atsumuâs head whips in your direction. âAre ya crazy?! There might be a leech in there!â he shouts, nearly tripping over a rock. âHow come the bees arenât chasing you?! Werenât you with us earlier?!â
You shrug your shoulders in response. Not wanting to tell them how you know there was a beehive there in the first place.
âJump in the fucking pond!â Tatsuto shouted.
âNo!â
âOi Miya, choose between the two, bees, or leeches?â Sakusa asks as he watches them run with mirth dancing in his eyes.
âNeither!â
âJust run, theyâll stop eventually!â Shugo offered, as they dash out of the farm and into the streets. Running away as far as they can.

âAh! Isso dĂłiâ Nicollas hissed as you apply a cold compress over the part where the bee had stung him. Offering him an Advil and a glass of water to help reduce the pain faster.
âFucking beesâ Hoshiumi grumbles as Hisano treats him, having the urge to scratch the itch it left. But restrains himself, or else itâll become worse.
It took them at least 30 minutes before the bees finally stopped chasing after them, they did get stung and thankfully only once. It was like they had run a marathon, Atsumuâs legs were burning with how much he had to force himself to run faster. The heat wasnât making it any easier for him either and the only thing he wants right now is to go home.
âWhen you get back home, go and visit a doctor just to make sureâ Hisano gathers the materials used to treat them, and went back inside the house to put them away.
âLetâs go backâ Atsumu says as he lays down on the wooden floor, brushing his hair away from his eyes.
âWe will in a few minutes, I need to talk to Jiro-san and Hisano-san firstâ Takato stood up and went inside the house to talk to the couple, as they all waited outside enjoying the afternoon breeze.
They stayed there for a few minutes, feeling the cool air blowing past them as dark clouds start rolling in.
âOkay guys letâs goâ
They stood up, dusting away the dirt that got into their pants. Waving goodbye to the couple, the group started their trek back to the guesthouse. So that they could finally get the rest, everyone had been wanting.
Just as they reach the foot of the hill where the house was situated, the rain unexpectedly dropped down. Drenching the dried out soil, and watering the wilting plants.
Later that evening as everyone was lounging around, having had finished packing their things. Fukuro approaches you, his hands behind his back.
â(Y/n)â he called out, you look up from the book you were reading to see him smiling at you. âI heard your birthday is in a monthâ he showed to you what he had been hiding behind his back. It was a white-colored gift bag with a little gold ribbon tied to the side. âHere you go, an advance gift from meâ
He passed you the bag as you accepted the gift with gratitude, thanking the older man. The others now curious as to what it would be, placing it on your lap, you gently opened the bag. Hinata and Bokuto now glued to your side to see what is inside.
âNo wayâ you gasp, as you pick up the signed album of your favorite band. The membersâ signatures and their little messages catching your attention. âHirugami-san thank you so much!â
He smiled at you ruffling your hair. âNo problem kidâ he went back to where he was seated moments ago. Leaving you to fangirl on your seat, Bokuto and Hinata joining you as they too were a fan of the band.
âI know what youâre planningâ Shugo narrows his eyes at the Adlers captain, as Fukuto sat down on his spot among their little circle. âItâs not going to workâ
Fukuro help up his hands in defense at Shugoâs accusations, feigning innocence. âHey, Iâm not planning anythingâ
âJust give it up; (Y/n) wonât leave us for Schweidenâ Shugo shots Fukuro a smirk as the Adlers captain mirrored it with his own.
âWeâll seeâ
The rest could see the spark that flashed between their eyes, challenging each other to yet another unsolicited competition.
âOkay stop it you two, we have a game to playâ Oliver calls them out as they snap out of it. Finally focusing back on the card game, they were playing a few minutes ago.

The next morning, the bus of both teams had arrived early at around 8 am. They loaded their luggage into the vehicle, making sure nothing was left behind. All the bags and other souvenirs they had pick up from randomly walking around were stuffed inside and ready to be brought home.
âThe next time we see each other again, it will be on courtâ
That was the last thing they said to one another before they piled into their respective bus. Situating in their chosen seat as the driver starts the engine, then driving back home.
"This was a fun trip" Shugo nestled himself in his chair, leaning on the window as he eyes the passing scenery. "Wouldn't mind going back here again"
"Yeah"
They stayed quiet after that, once again falling asleep through the whole ride.
"Wait guys, where's (Y/n)?" Inunaki's voice rang through the bus as their eyes snap open.
"What do you mean? She's over there" Bokuto pointed to where you were usually seated, but the spot was void of your presence. He stood up from his seat, looking around the empty seats but his eyes never found you.
"Was she still inside the house?" Hinata asks in worry. Takato's phone rings your name on the caller ID. He accepted the call and put you on speaker.
"(Y/n)!"
"I can't believe you guys left me behind!"
"We're sorry (Y/n), we thought you were inside the bus already. Where are you right now?" Takato says as Oliver tells the driver to turn around to get you.
"I'm in Schweiden's bus, I'm riding with them"
"Wait what?" Shugo stood up from his seat and motioned for Takato to give him the phone. "(Y/n), where are you?"
"I'm with Schweiden" Shugo heard shuffling from the other side as the phone was pass to another person.
"Shugo!" Fukuro's voice rang from the other side of the phone. "Thanks for the new manager!"
Shugo's eye twitches, as he listens to the man laugh. Cursing under his breath as the bus drives back. The driver going as fast as he can, all the while making sure to keep them from any accidents.
The next time you go on trips they really need to keep an eye on you, or else you will get snatched away.
