god its been years but im pretty sure her name has always just been lynn for as long as i can remember lmao. shortened from evelynn (pronounced like "eve lynn", mind you, as she will correct you if you call her by her full name and pronounceit like "evelyn") that im pretty sure i stole from somewhere but i cant remember where its been so long

as for the second parts of her stage name, yeah shes been through a few brandings depending on the company, but its always been about the star/space motif she has going on with her design and gear; rigel for the fed and diann for the indies/tna/aew (tho i might change that at some point if im moving her off from the fed again cause i was never super fond of it unlike rigel but hmm)

what if. what if. this happens at the beginning of the battle. they find muse sitting in the clearing by himself. they all show up ready to fight, theyre surrounding him (they have scouts out looking for trickster, too, since taking down the puppetmaster is how they free the puppets. ill get to this in a second). um. well. his hair is down, not in any fancy braid or anything. and william cant sense the breaker state. (dakota can, but hes not fast enough). trickster is making it seem like ashe is free by suppressing the breaker state as much as he can wihtout actually turning it off. he has ashe turn toward his friends, talks to them like its actually him, saying htings like "guys please he let me go help me get these off of me" (referring to. the strings) . and . in a panicked state of. relief and desperation to get ashe back, because he cant sense the breaker state, he believes the ruse, wibby is the first person to rush forward. it would maybe be more in character for dakota to rush in, but he hesitates, because with the effects of his power he CAN tell that ashe is still in breaker state. he and/or virion reach out to grab william before he can get too close but hes too fast and hes already in his own breaker form so even if they could grab him their hands would just slip through. he gets close enough and far enough away from the other heroes that trickster has ashe snap fully back into muse mode and rips wibby in half. so his real goal there was just to trick (ha!) at least one of the heroes into getting close enough to do that (lmao funny prank, get gamzeed idiot) but the fact that it was william specifically who did it makes the whole thing EVEN FUNNIER. his trap fooled the logical one, the smart one, the one who is usually stopping the OTHERS from doing stupid things like this !! AND this also just so happens to be mallard ghoul conway's little pet project who looks suspiciously like the hero trickster killed when he took over his first city!!!!!!!!!!! the whole thing is just so delicious for him. which . oh god the wards are out of commission because of wibby death but its also maybe kind of a good thing that this happened because trickster is so busy laughing at his own successful prank that it makes it just a tiny bit easier to find where hes holed up.

one of the biggest challenges of this script has definitely been all the intersecting plot lines. i’ve never really attempted anything this expansive or complicated before, so there’s definitely a learning curve to it! i’m glad you’re enjoying it so far. & while i don’t think this plot twist is one of my best by any means, and honestly i wasn’t even thinking about it as a plot twist, i’m still glad you liked it! i really adore writing plot twists, and i love the feeling you get when reading something that has been so cleverly executed. it’s really the same feeling that i strive to emulate in all my fics!

i just said this in another ask, but i am SO psyched about max’s plot. i was really stuck on what to do with her, but i didn’t want to sideline her. pairing her up with terry was something that i never considered, but i literally had a revelation one night and was like oh my god that’s PERFECT!! & i haven’t seen anyone else do anything even moderately close, so i’m very excited to try something new.

Started doing volunteering at a tuition centre and I’m supposed to help by marking the children’s work which seems cool. They gave me a surprise test but I passed so I’m somewhat qualified to be there.

No worries being American, I’m from the land of tea and biscuits so I’m not as fancy eitherSo we have these stages of education: pre-school (3-4 year olds), primary school (4-11 year olds), secondary school (11-18 year olds) then unis and all the other things

To break it down further we have year groups instead of grades. So for primary kids you go from reception to year 6. And secondary school has year 7s up to year 13s. Mandatory education only applies until year 11 where you can go into colleges, sixth form (year 12-13 of hs and what I’m doing) or apprenticeships.

We have 2 big exams during our mandatory school years: SATs in year 6 and GCSEs in year 11. You also have A-levels but that’s only if you do sixth form.

We have uniform for all mandatory years but after year 11 we can wear non-uniform (which actually makes me think every morning lol)

One last thing is that there are two main types of schools state schools (for the regular folk) and private schools (for the posh kids). There’s a big divide between the two as obviously private schools get way more funding than us state kids but we manage.

That’s pretty much the basics of our schooling system. Been a while since I rambled in this box but it’s fun hehe.

But hear me out. Is it just me or did the Luofu quests feel really really rushed? Like I felt it got the Inazuma treatment. Like before one storyline could establish itself and sink in, we were already involved in a bunch of other things and other plots. Like I felt that they had a lot of ideas but had to string it together to form a singular plot.

Idk, I feel like I liked Jarillo story better as it felt well paced but I didn’t connect with any Jarillo characters. But with Luofu, I didn’t like the story but I liked the characters (cough cough Jing Yuan and Luocha (yeah I know he’s evil)). Man I went into Luofu quest thinking I’ll be a blade simp but ended up being a Jing Yuan simp instead. I am yet to play Blade’s quest (Kafka called me to help them but it’s literally 4am rn and I am like, Blade you will have to wait)

it mightve been set in a plague but basically there was some sort of epidemic and "i" tended to the in patients at an hospital (is it a hospital?? do people pronounce the h in hospital in english?) where most of everyone was sick with something really bad and barely curable.

anyways i was walking around doing my rounds. then i come over to this room with patients and it's literally like a closet with long shelves and everything but instead of supplies, the patients were crammed in there like a morgue or a line of standing coffins.

it rings and bc dream me really wanted to listen in on the conversation like a chronic gossip, i manage to "convince" him (dream coercion) to let me answer the phone.

it was his mum!! daniil dankovsky's mother 大草 lmao. i told her i was from the hospital, calling about daniil and she was like "oh... he's dead, isn't he?" and i told her that no he's fine actually and was to be dismissed very soon (i was lying).

while this was happening, i was trying my best to let daniil hear the conversation too but i didn't know how to put the telephone on speaker (bc fr idk how to put telephones on speaker irl. i think our telephone company doesnt provide speaker buttons????? idk im going insane) so i was just struggling, trying to put the receiver speaker in between us before giving up

i heard the tail end of her going on about needing "dr. burakh" to fix her up and my brain hit me with another dose of setting details at that point.

(artemy's a doctor/surgeon in the hospital and hes handling daniil's treatment too)

i laugh and tell her that there's no need to get artemy bc soon her son'll be home to fix her up instead.

at that point, i was urged to cut the call because someone came up to me, another telephone in hand, and said "you know this is a home line right?" (implying anyone could listen in)

i was too lazy to reply and continue the dream so i just woke up after that lol.

but yeah good morning yippee!! clean start for another day!!! cant wait to seize it, hope everyone does too!!!

(and i hate to compare them like this because i really liked them as a couple but yurim and jiwoong making it through yurim moving to rusia but baekdo not making it through new york?) i think what i find more upsetting is not them not working romantically, but that they are not in each other lives anymore after being so important and so fundational even before they started dating. THEY WERE EACH OTHER'S WHOLE SUPPORT SYSTEM, literally in heedo's words he was the only person who rooted for her even when her own mother didn't, WHICH GETS ME TO MY NEXT POINT

the more i think about it and the reason i dislike the finale the most is that older hee do seems to be so lonely? that aparently she doesn't keep in touch with ANY of them? these people were the only family she had in her teens, her first support system after her dad died. she was so lonely when we started the show and i feel like we ended with older heedo just as lonely. and the thing i hate the most is that the final message of the show is that it is inevitable to lose those things when you get older. that friendship and love are things you only get when you are young. im in my late 20s and things do get more complicated as you grow and it is harder to mantain friendships but it is not impossible if the people are important to you. so i refuse to believe the show telling me that by the time im in my forties im going to be alone. i don't think the heedo we spent 16 episodes with, who grew up so alone and was resigned to live like that before starting the show, deserved to end up in her 40s with only her mother and her daughter (and married to a man we don't even know the name of) and with such bleak outlook in life.

lizzie is such a compelling character, but i think what makes her incredible isnt how shes handled crews singlehandedly (possibly figurative and literally), but how powerful her words seem to be. while gill's speech was what set john off his edge, lizzies was the first to inspire him into change. im pretty sure jazz was talked to by lizzie. yes her actions are loud, but her words are the speakers that carry out her messages! the black rose took her and chip aboard, and while it trained her, shes leaving it back behind her in the past because she doesnt need the black rose anymore (opposite to chip, who wants to get that experience back). she builds herself a story away from the black rose, becoming more a person. shes believed to do the shit that rumors say because of how powerful her words are.

shes so strong now, yet shes not exactly forgiving. while chip is excited to find the black rose, lizzie is the exact opposite. shes happy their gone for the bullshit they went through and is full on willing to kill them to not deal with them. when she sees drey she threatens to kill him if hes still in her view, and he has the audacity to not remember her after all that. god grizzly did so well story telling wise for this

while after the black rose lizzie grew stronger and stronger, it seems like drey kind of grew weaker in the sense that his main tool for his weapon is unrepairable (his arms lol). sure, hes adapted to be able to use his feet for stufff, but i doubt he'll be fine in combat. i honestly hope he can retire in piece (I MEANT PEACE LMAO) but we already know that rufus was still in danger despite being retired from pirating. not to mention, he just like, doesnt remember shit of the hole in the sea (well, most of it). it was bad enough that he cant fucking remember lizzie, and maybe she likes it that way.

honestly, i think lizzie has a bit of a hatred for ferins less because theyre navy and more because shes "been played" so to speak by two of them (i havent actually seen or heard the scene yet, but i cant escape the spoilers of ava and lizzie forever). she loved two ferins, one like a parent (atleast somewhat like a parent) and one like her girlfriend. and she tries hiding up from jay, because maybe she reminds her of ava and can just tell that shes someone who could be her friend. and when she leaves (lizzie would say when and not if for a bit), lizzie will feel broken and betrayed again and the last she needs when theres war sparking soon is feelings of weakness.

anyways, while i could do so much with lizzie, im gonna talk about the things you were bringing up with drey, because yes! it is something i never really thought about, why drey chose to be a pirate. i mean, we know he met captain rose who just had asked him and he said yes. (i ended up looking at dreys wiki mainly cause i needed to make sure i dont wanna bs, but im also going off the video itself) but why? why, when the ferin family has been navy for years, does drey just decide "yeah, fuck it"? maybe because drey considers this captain at the time (quoted from the episode) "An angel in your eyes, he is the sexiest man you’ve ever seen before", or maybe because his old small ship was destroyed by said captains ship, but its truly an anigma. looking at the wiki (ok the only reason ive done it for drey is if there were shit going on with drey in the black sea, i probs would have stumbled into it, so im not so scared for spoilers with him), which by the way isnt always the greatest source but there are knowledgeable people who add shit onto the pages, it mentions how drey set out to be an adventurer and shit, and did hesitate to join out of fear of bad treatment hes faced before, which is kinda interesting. plus, drey tries to yell up to the ship that the boat "was all hes got", so my thoughts are he probably had some rough treatment and pressure (if he was ever in the navy thats probably doubled) and decided to become a pirate after seeing how free this crew seemed, i guess.

as for family relationships, i could have sworn drey said goodbye to jay before he left, or atleast jay mentions it to chip in the humble beginnings ep. i think jay may have looked up slightly to drey, being brave to go against the navy and such (even if it had to be hidden from her dad). they probably werent super close, but i dont believe they had bad blood (besides the fact theyre related to jays dad (joke)). most definitely they would have grown closer while drey was on board the deck. i cant imagine ava being close to drey because probs jay and ava were put in the navy at a young age, but whos to say? id say jayson and may were closer to him when he was younger, but they do grow more distant from the distance (so smart wording cherii), even though jayson and drey would be so much more distant from all the "pirate vs navy" shit. also, i did find on the wiki which says taylor ferin and drey were distant so yeah.

but yeah hes a mystery man for sure ALSO just got to the beginning of ep 97, and the idea thats hes grown slightly weaker shows by how he keeps missing the shots. yeah, its pretty impressive that hes firing a gun without using his arms, but hes at a heavy disadvantage (accdiental dnd opun?) if he cant use them properly. the legendary status he had (not that hed be willing to admit it) has retired alongside him, and he gets to watch his niece become the next sureshot.

Well, I kinda have this thing,, I don't anything better to do that think of a random scenario and story of a nonexistent character that just born in my mind. And it goes like... “Oh, I like the universe of this serie... Why don't mix it with this game???” AND YES, I'M TALKING TO YOU GENSHIN— (I really like the lore/story and characters... Enough to mix it with my favorite things—)

And that's how a I met a psychologist— ok no, but still. I just, love daydreaming about what would this character do and, how much would they suffer with the angst? Yet, I don't write anything... 1, because I'm so lazy. 2, how could I explain the 'why' and 'how' of everything? It just, wouldn't make any sense— 3, I'm lazy.

After having a [redacted] explanation of everything, I start with— nothing. I losed a few hours of sleep thinking about the 'why' just to remember that, It's my au so, I can set some rules, right? (Like, the universe rules) But it stills doesn't explain the 'how'. So I losed another few hours to think a way to solve that "mystery" and then— I've no more interest in that au...

Just like I started it, I losed my interest on it.

The next days after the tragic event, I feel empty, and mad with myself... But not enough to make me stop seeing the shitty things internet can offer me. (/j /j)

And the answer is... Yes and it makes mad, well, no, it doesn't.

Conclusion: I have a crush on Phos. And I'm trying to not read the all the manga because it'll hurt me and I don't want that because right now I'm too sensitive and this is just an excuse. I know what happens, but, I can't read all the process, I'm not ready yet.

i found out that lane lambert is basically Barrys protege, he learned from barry ever since nashville. i cant tell if thats good or not, but the goalie coach leaving is making me worried.

i mean bottomline is we won’t know whether this hire is actually the right choice or not, until the new season starts. it’s all all depends on who’s on the team coming into the next season (trades, FA signings etc.) so it’s all a guessing game rn tbh!

i do have a few ~thoughts on this that i’ve been wanting to share but i was so so busy yesterday i didn’t have time but now i do, do let’s get into it!!!! this is just my opinion and the swirling thoughts i’ve had, all nonsensically put poorly into words so yeah just bear that in mind lmao

this got way longer than i thought it’d be, so i’m gonna put it all under the cut:

lambert is trotz’s protege, and has been by his side since nashville, yes BUT i don’t think this is as bad of a thing as some might think. lou really emphasized on the whole “new voice” thing and hiring lambert kinda waters down the seriousness of it all bc why fire trotz when you’re just gonna hire someone who’s almost just like him? personally, i think we’re gonna see a similar type of play with lambert but with a few tweaks. one could hope that those “tweaks” involve more offense and handling/developing younger players differently. from what i remember when he was behind the bench the few times trotz was out, the team did pretty decently (sample size too small to make a declaring observation but still). we gotta remember that he was the ASSISTANT coach to trotz so there would’ve been situations and decisions that lambert may have wanted to do differently that maybe barry went the other way. i think although he’s been under trotz for years, we’re gonna see a difference in the coaching style bc now he’s got the authority to make those ultimate decisions ya know?

speaking of coaching style, lambert makes the absolute most sense. most will think it’s bias bc he was already here as an assistant, and you know what? maybe so! but it’s actually the best way to go about this whole situation. isles fire trotz after finding growing success under him for 3 season prior to this season? when all the years pre-trotz era, the isles were constantly missing the playoffs not had any sort of identity? it’s all such a weird turn of events but i think lambert is the best option for whatever transition is coming (i wanna expand on this point so badly). you can’t really deny that isles amazing in a defensive structure and that it WORKS. the problem was that they need a defensive structure for those that thrived under it (brock is a greaaaat example for this!!) but also allowed for offensively-minded players (mat, wally) to not be so boxed-in within a system. we already know lambert had the defensive system down pat (he was literally the PK coach lmao) so there’s familiarity there, what we’re all hoping to see now is the space for players like mat and wally to play with their natural offensive instinct but still being defensively responsible. and call me optimistic, but i think we’ll get that good balance

and that balance is exactly what the isles need imo. the options for new a HC before lambert was announced was already slim pickings, and this may just totally be me, but changing the teams entire playing system with a new coach would’ve been a mistake. like i said, it not like the defensive system hasn’t worked before - it just needs to be adapted. could you imagine if isles got a whole new coach and tried to implement a system or style of play that the players aren’t used to? after having their current one drilled into their minds for like 4 years? next season would be a dumpster fire. and it’s not like the players would be incapable of adapting to it, what i’m saying is that it would take TIME. and taking that time to change every bit of this team’s identity seems unnecessary when you only need to adapt and readjust what’s currently there (with the players that we currently have)

the whole goalie coach situation makes me soooo nervous too!! bc if i had to pick something that’s been fairly consistent through everything, it’s the goaltending. and it’s all just speculation and rumors right now so we can just assume and hope that lou’s doing everything to try and keep mitch korn. but if he does end up going, we’d still have Greco who’s the goalie coach (korn is the director of goaltending). i have a feeling that if isles lose korn, there’s no way in hell lou’s trading varlamov (not that lou was all that sold on trading him anyway but ya know). WE SHALL WAIT AND SEE

long ass clear card theory ramblings because my brain decided to go into ccs mode instead of letting me sleep :)

so when i was rereading the ccs manga there was some part about how clow looked into the future and saw that sakura was going to be the master of the cards so he made the staff specifically for her and i was just like. so if sakura was 100% always going to get them why was syaoran sent on a mission to get them? thats kind of fucked up to send him on a mission hes literally destined to fail. but then i was like “well, his mom probably had no idea sakura was 100% guaranteed to get the cards”

BUT

in clear card, theres some line about how syaoran didnt want the future his mom foretold about sakura being in danger to pass or whatever (im too lazy to find my screenshot rn but thats basically what it says) which implies, you know, she can see the fucking future right. so she would have been able to see that he wasnt going to get the cards at the time that she sent him over originally right. so if thats the case why the fuck did she send him on a mission she knew it was literally impossible for him to accomplish. i have 2 reasons i could think of:

1. she knew he wasn’t going to get the cards then but that he was going to get them later and so in her mind that was still a success so she sent him anyway. which would be manipulative as fuck. i doubt this one is the case though it seems like. TOO mean

2. she knew that sakura would get the cards, and that she would be in danger in the future, and that if she sent syaoran over there he would want to protect her, and so she was like using him as a proxy for herself to protect sakura (?) which is also manipulative as fuck. i hope this one isnt the case either but if either of these two were to be the case i feel like this one would be more likely ???

anyway if there IS an explanation and its not just a huge oversight its probably (hopefully) something nicer than the two scenarios i came up with. i feel like theyre kind of pessimistic anyway lmao. i think his mom probably does have good intentions in the end but i just uh question her method of making her son live alone in a foreign country as a literal child for a mission he was predestined to not accomplish???

anyway, all else aside, he was given a mission by his mother who is also the head of his magic clan, and he failed at it. i feel like this would affect him negatively and yet its never brought up again. except in clear card he DOES have the old cards now, but the reason they give for him taking them is so he can protect sakura, which, well fucking duh i can see that ive read the clear card manga its pretty damn obvious. but i cant help but wonder if theres a subconscious secondary reason too like, say, proving that he CAN get the cards he IS good enough. and in one of his fights with kaito kaito has some line like “rewriting contracts takes a lot of power are you sure you did it just for her” and like yeah he was definitely trying to piss him off with inflammatory statements but THATS NOT THE KIND OF LINE YOU JUST DROP AND NEVER MENTION AGAIN. and later on kaito turns back time on the fight so syaoran wouldnt even remember that line at least for now but i am telling you that shit is going to come back theres no way it wont.

that being said i still think overall he mostly did it to protect sakura (and the cards could clearly see that too, i mean they went with him willingly, let us not forget) but its possible he had a second underlying reason that he isn’t even aware of himself

and sakuras not completely innocent in this either. i mean she is 100% the reason they cant have physical contact currently. this isnt even a theory at this point i am 100% certain and if i am not right i will be very very surprised. let me explain:

so when the new cards first start appearing theyre like “i dont sense anyone elses magic how could this be happening?!?!?” and of course later on they reveal that its because it’s SAKURA’S magic behind the cards because she’s been making them subconsciously. and then when they start not being able to touch her IMMEDIATE reaction is that it’s because of her, albeit she thought it was because she made a new card, but theres no new card. and then theyre like “its not a card and i dont sense kaitos magic how could this be happening?!?!?” EXACTLY like how it was when the new cards started appearing. so it would make sense that the answer to this, too, is “it’s sakura doing it subconsciously”

at the end of the day i think they just need to sit down and talk about their feelings because they are literal children of course they are going to make mistakes. you know what they say about how everything will definitely be alright
