I like to think I'm a good writer, and I also like to think I could be someone another person travels four hours to come visit. I have been humbled in both ways in less than 12 hours.

your jason todd hcs are sooooo good omg!!! do you have any hcs specifically for when he has a crush on the reader, like how he might act, specifically if the reader is oblivious and really doesn’t think that she’s his type / thinks he’s joking if he says anything flirty?
When They're In Love - Jason Todd (Crush Edition)

You would never know that Jason has a crush on you.
For the most part, he wont talk to you any differently than he will anyone else.
Maybe he won't jokingly insult you, or be super sarcastic around you, but I think that's kind of as far as he'd go.
Unless you're a close friend or family member, you'd probably have no clue he had a crush based on the way he talks to you.
But the little actions and things he does for you are so obvious.
He's the type to hold open doors for you, all the while staring other people dead in the eye as it shuts in their face.
He somehow always just "randomly" has your favorite snack on hand, or a whole collection of books by your favorite author.
I think he'd be touchy, unless he knows you don't like being touched.
If you like or don't mind it, he'd have his arm constantly thrown over your shoulder, always be leaning against you, always resting a hand on your hip.
If you're shorter than him, he does that super annoying thing where he rests his elbow on your head.
He is so lame omg.
But bc he's kinda like this with everyone, no one would fault you for not understanding his hints.
He's like the opposite though.
You said hi to him this morning? You must be in love with him.
You smiled at him today instead of Dick? He's already planning the wedding.
What's that? You said he smells nice? Have his babies. (If you can/want to)
Our delusional king.
He doesn't think you don't get his flirting.
He'd think you're fully aware and are flirting back.
Again, our delusional king.
You probably won't get it until something really serious happens and he comes to you instead of Bruce or Roy.
He'd probably try to get into things you're interested in.
Listens to all your favorite songs, reads your favorite books, etc.
And he's not subtle about it bc he is in fact, a loser.
He'll recommend a song by your favorite artist and then be like "idk why but this just reminded me of you lol"
LOSER. Can you guys tell i'm a big believer in the "jason todd is secretly a massive loser" agenda? Cuz I am. :|
And then he listens when you go on rambles about how great the things you like are and how much they mean to you.
I said he'll do things just to hear you talk about them, and I think he'd do that when he has a crush on you too.
He just loves your voice and likes hearing you talk.
He smiles at you so softly when he thinks you aren't looking.
You could be bumming out and he'll look at you with heart eyes like yeah, future spouse right there.
I don't think he'd be a big user of social media, but if you were, he'd get a whole account just to like and comment of your pictures.
user94820860038466 commented: You look very pretty in this picture.
Comments like an old man bc he has very little understanding of the internet.
He'd probably help you take pictures and fight with other people in your comment section if they're too down bad or creepy.
He doesn't strike me as the jealous type bc once again, he's so delusional he pretty much already thinks you're dating.
Nicknames nicknames nicknames.
Calls you so, so many nicknames.
Angel, doll, sweetheart, maybe even babe.
He constantly talks about you when you aren't there.
Lian and Roy know so much about you before they even meet you.
He'd do anything for you.
The store is actually about a mile in the other direction, but yeah he can get you your favorite drink.
He does not like that food at all and the owner of the store despises him, but he will not return to you empty handed best believe.
He was actually going to wear that hoodie today, but it looks so much better on you you should keep it!
~ Drabble Starts Here. ~
It's just like every other night in Gotham City. It's cold, and wet, and it smells like smoke and garbage that's been left out in the sun.
The only barrier between you and the chilled, musty air outside is a single sheet of glass; the fire escape window of your fifth floor apartment. It's comforting. The glass is, of course, bulletproof, and the seal around the sill is tight, so no gases ever manage seep in. It pays to have a decent landlord, especially in Gotham.
It's funny, but you really never think about that window. You mostly keep it shut and locked, except in the summer, when you can smell your neighbor in the building next door cooking all types of delicious aromatic dishes, or when it's just too hot and you decide the risk of heatstroke is greater than the risk of airborne psychosis. It never occurs to you just how well it keeps you safe, just how well it keeps things out.
It occurs to Jason, though. In fact, it's the only thing on his mind as he's gripping his side, frantically trying to prevent too much blood from seeping out of his body.
He'll probably chastise himself later for not being more gentle or respectful, but he's lost too much blood to be thinking straight. With his free hand, he bangs on your window, praying that you're A) at home, and B) not listening to music. He's not too worried about the first one, he knows you never leave your lights on when you're away, but the second one, he's not too sure about.
He bangs, and bangs, and bangs on the glass, a loud, thunk thunk thunk thunk thunk that immediately rouses your from your sleep. You jump up from your spot on the couch, an open book falling from your lap as you dart into your room to grab the knife Jay gave you for protection, before returning to your living room, keeping your back to the wall.
You hold the blade in front of you, nervously gripping the hilt as you listen to the banging, making sure to stay just out of sight as you cautiously creep closer and closer to the noise. It isn't until the banging dies down that you finally get close enough to see the cause.
You gasp at the sight, dropping the knife and trying to tug the window open, before mentally yelling at yourself to unlock it. You drag the weakened behemoth of a man into your apartment, carefully placing his upper body on the floor in front of your window and removing his helmet. Your hand moves to his side, firmly pressing down on his wound, as you stare at him, mouth agape and eyes flooding with concern.
He laughs, a dry chuckle that just sounds like it hurts. "What took ya' doll?" You wanna smack him, but you can do that when he's not bleeding all over your hardwood floors. You tell him to wait, as if he could go anywhere in the state he's in, before rushing to grab the emergency kit he forced you to keep.
"Let-ngh- let me do it." He groans as he attempts to sit up, trying and failing to pull the tweezers from your hand. He doesn't even have the strength to sit back up when you gently push him back down. You clean his wound, all while he holds back winces and groans. You don't hold back, focusing on cutting and cleaning and stitching and wrapping, berating Jason for coming to you of all people.
"What d'ya mean? Of course I'd come to you?" Jason manages between harsh breaths. "Who else would I go to?" He seems genuinely confused, you're his girlfriend, you always come to him when you need help. Why wouldn't he come to you?
"Oh, I don't know, Jason, maybe Bruce, or Roy, or literally anyone else with training to handle this kind of thing!?" It comes out mean, but through his pain he can tell it's coming from a place of true care. You're worried. One of the strongest, most skilled people you know is bleeding out on your floor and you're panicking. Of course you are, you've never had to sew someone up, or dig a bullet out of someone, or try to hold down bile from the heavy smell of blood.
Your hands are shaking like crazy. This isn't a slight graze you can put a bandaid over and seal with a kiss, this is a life threatening wound on someone you care about, and all they've been doing since they came to you is make stupid fucking jokes and try to take things from your hands.
Jason can tell it's getting to you.
It should be the other way around, what with him bleeding out in your living room, but he quiets down, gripping your wrist with his non-blood covered hand. "Hey," He gently strokes your skin with his thumb, repeating himself when you don't move your eyes from his wound. "Hey, look at me Y/n." It's just stern enough to make you obey, without sounding like he's mad at you. "It'll be okay. I'm in good hands." Jason smiles at you, tired and reassuring. It calms your nerves just enough for you to finish sewing his wound shut.
You sit back when you're done, taking in your work once you wrap his stomach with gauze. Jason turns just enough to catch a glimpse, smiling up at you with his stupid, charming smirk. "Not bad, doll. Told ya you had it covered." He lays back, smiling up at you as he lays his head on his arm, the one on his non-injured side. Though he doesn't seem to bothered by the end of it all, you can't say the same.
He takes in your features, your tired, glossy eyes and your pouting lips. It makes his smile drop. You look away, your sad eyes not meeting his own. "I . . . what? What's wrong Y/n?" Jason winces, moving to rest on his elbows to get a better look at your face. "Was it the blood? Or the- was it the window? I'm sorry about that, by the way." You shake your head no at all of his suggestions, taking a breath before turning back to face him.
He can feel his heart hurt at the sight of unshed tears in your eyes. "I . . . I was scared Jay." He pushes himself all the way up when you take your lip into your mouth. He ignores the pain shooting through his side when he pulls you into his arms. "Hey, hey, hey, scared of what? I'm okay. You did good." Those tears finally spill when your arms wrap around his waist, loose as to not further irritate his wound.
"You could've died Jay, a-and I wouldn't be able to-to help you! I can't help you!" You sob into his shoulder. He holds you tightly, pressing his lips to your head as he rubs your back. "Please, please don't cry. I'm okay now, you helped me. I'm all better now." He rocks you both gently, trying to console you. "Sides, if I was gonna die, I'd be happy if it was with my girl."
What?
You freeze in his arms, and he knows he said something wrong. He just doesn't know what. His brain moves a mile a minute as he tries to figure out what it was before you get even more upset. Though, his brain completely shuts down when you stare up at him with those cute, confused eyes. The tears have slowed down, and he's at least thankful for that. "Your . . . girl?" Now he's confused too. "What-what do you mean by that?"
He has to do a double take. "What do you mean? You're my girl, like . . . girlfriend, you know?" Every second that passes only confuses the two of you more. "I'm your girlfriend?" "Ar-aren't you?" You blink at him. Were you? Are you? "Am I?" Somewhere there was cognitive dissonance, Jason just doesn't know for who. "Yeah, we're dating, I thought?" Though, he doesn't feel so confident about that now.
"Oh," You feel your ears grow warm, for the second time now your eyes don't meet his own. "I . . . I didn't know that." You wish you could hide right now, but he's still got his arms wrapped around you. "I mean, unless you don't want to, then-then I'm sorry-" Jason feels maybe even more embarrassed than you as he finally drops his arms, grabbing his helmet and moving to crawl back out the window he came in through. His bullet wound is completely forgotten by now.
He stops when you grip his jacket, shyly staring at the floor as you speak. "No! I w-want to." Your eyes darty up to his, before losing confidence and dropping back to the floor. "I want to be your girlfriend," It comes out a whisper, and when he's silent for a beat too long you worry he's suddenly changed his mind.
"Good. Great. Yeah." He drops back to the floor, sitting cross legged beside you. Internally, he's doing backflips in his mind. "Cool." Later on, he'll ask more questions, but for now, he's satisfied. "Yeah." You shyly play with your clothes, twiddling your thumbs as you sit in silence. You feel like a little girl who just admitted to her crush that she likes him. "Are you-" "I didn't-" You interrupt each other, both of you gesturing for the other to continue. It's a bit of a fight, but Jason makes you go first.
"I was gonna ask if you were hungry. I have some, um, pretzels and stuff. If you want." Jason nods. He follows you into your kitchen, where the two of you quietly and contently eat the iron rich foods you looked up. "What were you going to say, by the way?"
Jason looks up from his plate, the haphazardly prepared meal helping him feel better, though his heart feels pretty good right now anyways. "I didn't know that you didn't know. I thought," he laughs nervously. "I thought, we were dating this whole time." He laughs again when you shake your head. "I didn't know! I thought . . . I don't know, that I wasn't your type, or something."
That's probably the most surprising thing he's heard you say today. Okay it's not, but it's the thing that most catches him off guard.
"Of course you are! You're so sweet, and cute, and nice, and pretty, and you smell really good, and you're funny, and I like your voice, and the way you d-do things . . . and . . . other stuff." Jason stops himself before he can ramble for hours about every single things he loves about you. You wouldn't mind if he did, though. You hide your pleased expression with your hand.
"Me too." It's quiet, but no longer shy. "I like all that "stuff" about you too."

Tumblr media
You’re a month into your summer vacation and things couldn’t be more…boring. You love and appreciate your parents dearly for putting out the money so that you could attend a prestigious school in New York with a kick ass archery team but does it ever suck to be this far from all your friends for four months. To make the situation work, your dad had to transfer jobs to another state that pulls in a little more money annually with slightly more affordable housing but that means you aren’t even near the people you grew up around. Rural Mississippi is a fairly big step from living in Boston. Boston at least had people, out here it’s like you’re lucky if you get to meet a neighbour because the land has us all so far apart. In all honesty, although it’s boring, you really have one specific reason for being so bummed out. Towards the end of your last semester, you got started getting closer with one of the girls a year younger on your team, Kate. Typically the older girls competed and practised together and the younger girls did the same. Although you two were only a year apart it’s just how things worked out, so you didn’t cross paths very often. However, one day you were walking home from class, stopped to get coffee and basically bumped into her. The meeting was really brief but it was enough to make you catch feelings almost instantly.
Your interest in her grew as you followed her on Instagram and she followed back. Obviously you took a peak at her page and scrolled to the bottom laughing at the really cringey posts from 2015 she had still up. All you wanted to do was talk to her again but you didn’t know how, although she was a year younger than you she intimidated you so much. Her deep blue eyes were honestly enough to make you stutter whenever you had the chance to talk to her. A month had gone by already and you could not wait to get back to school so you could see her again. Luckily, coach has yearly “team-building” days before the season starts and they’re about half way through the summer so hopefully you can talk to her before then and maybe convince her to hang out when you come back to school.
Over the next week or so you liked a few story posts that she’d upload every now and again but the day finally came where you felt like you could swipe up and respond to it…y’know…maybe spark a little conversation.
“Damn Bishop, is this a new bow?” In response to a story post of her showing off some of her off season training.
“Haha yeah it is, flips out and everything…it's really freakin’ cool.” She replied almost instantly and that made a giant warm smile come across your face.
Shit– what do you say back? Your main goal was honestly to keep the convo going so you could subtly mention down the line hanging out with her.
“Yeah that’s sick, wow I’d kill to try something like that out.”
“Well next time I see you, please by all means give it a shot” She replies back.
“Might just have to take you up on that. How’s your summer going anyways?”
“It’s alright, kind of boring though. All my friends from school move back home and I am working for my mom’s company over the summer so it all is just kind of dull. I miss going out and having fun. Wbu?”
“Yeah, I hear that. I am SO bored here. I would kill to fast forward to the fall, I miss being at school honestly. There’s only so much I can do by myself here during the summer.”
“Ugh right! I want it to be school again too but don’t get me wrong, I love the summer, the weather is great here recently and the nightlife is amazing too. I just have nobody to go with, you know.”
“Yeah I get it. Trust me, if I could be there to go out with you I would, there is definitely no nightlife here haha.”
Shit. That wasn’t too forward was it? She is taking a while to respond to you. She hasn’t even opened the message yet.
*4 minutes later*
“Well, you’re going to be around for that team-building thing coach has us doing in a couple of weeks right?”
“Yeah, I should be.”
“Well, we can go out then if you want? Me and a few friends had plans but they’re all on the team and I’m sure they’d love to have you there too.”
“Yeah, that sounds great I’d love to!”
The conversation pretty much ended there and your contact with her was fairly limited, just a small comment here or there until you finally got to fly back to school for summer training. You settle back into the apartment you left a couple months ago, everything is still a mess where you left it but the kitchen and living room are even filthier since you are not around to clean up much after your roommates. You decided to wait until your team practice to talk to Kate about hanging out again. You didn’t want to come on too strong but also a small part of you feels like she forgot what she said months ago and you won’t end up seeing her, not outside of team stuff at least.
You grabbed your gear and headed to the field where practice was being held. You saw some of your friends from last year and decided to catch up with them before coach pulled you all in to start practice. You were trying your best not to make it obvious but your eyes were tracking all around you looking for Kate but she was nowhere to be seen.
*Whistle* “Okay team! Let’s bring it in. First, I just want to say thank you to everyone for making the effort to come back to campus for this, meeting I–”
“SORRY SORRY SORRY!” You hear the coach interrupted as footsteps are fast approaching the circle of archers.
“Hi Kate.” Says coach.
“I am SO sorry. My driver was running late and then there was traffic because of a giant accident, I think there was some battle in the streets again, I don’t know, either way, my bad coach, won’t happen again…I promise.” She says with the most adorable grin that is absolutely saying she will be late again.
“It’s alright Kate, it happens, I was just telling the team how thankful I am that everyone could make the trip back to campus for this.” Coach went on to talk about the drills you were doing for the day and man was it hard to not be in awe watching her. You tried your best not to stare all day because the last thing you wanted to do was make it obvious but fuck it felt impossible. The day came to an end and you packed up your gear, Kate was talking with the other seniors on the team as they were gathering their things and started to head out. You could feel your window closing to talk to her but interrupting her conversation with her friends and “inviting” yourself out with them just felt too weird and uncomfortable. If it wasn’t meant to be then it wasn’t meant to be but you would kill to be able to just spend an hour with her.
You watched as she started to walk away towards the parking lot with her friends when all of a sudden she motioned for them to hold on a minute and she turned around and jogged over to you.
“Hey y/n! Sorry we didn’t get to catch up much during practice, I saw your shooting though it’s looking good.”
Yeah…your face is bright red. Control your shit.
“Anyways, me and a couple friends are going out later tonight to a party that one of their friends is hosting. It’s like a Hawaiian beach summer nights themed type of party so if you have something like that to wear, that would be great.”
“Yeah, I might have something, I’ll take a look when I get home.”
“Cool! I’ll text you the address once I get it off my friend and I’ll see you there?”
“Yeah, sounds good!”
“Here, why don’t you put your number into my phone, I don’t like using DM’s that much.”
You take Kate’s phone out of her hand and fill out a contact for yourself, praying that she can’t hear your heart beating out of your chest.
“Cool, thanks, I’ll send you a text in a bit.” She says with a smile and then runs off to re-join her friends.
It seems silly sitting by your phone and literally watching the minutes tick by waiting for her to text you but that’s all  you could do. The anticipation felt like it was killing you.
Your phone finally buzzed with a mystery number attached, “Hey y/n! It’s Kate. So…slight change of plans.”
Fuck. Is she bailing? Your eyes were glued on the three dots as she typed and you watched as they disappeared and reappeared.
“Turns out the party is actually around the corner from my place so if you wanted to just come here first, we could pre-game and shit and then walk over together? My friends said they were going out to get their hair done so they’ll be running late.”
“Hey Kate, yeah no problem that works for me just send me your address and lmk what time you want me there.”
Kate dropped a pin of her location to you with the text attached telling you to come over at 7pm.
7pm rolled around and you were already there outside but you kind of felt like you should wait another minute or two so you weren’t RIGHT on time. Or is it weird to be a minute late? But wouldn’t being on time be weirder? Whatever, you decided to just wait a minute and then knock on her door.
Knocking on her door was the most nerve wracking thing you ever did, you were genuinely shitting bricks.
“HEY! Come in come in!” Kate eagerly yells at you as she swings the door open. She’s wearing shorts with a bright purple bikini top and a button down Hawaiian shirt over top that doesn’t have a single button done up. Are you starring? Yes. Probably? Absolutely you are.
“Make yourself at home, feel free to grab a drink from the fridge, my roommates are out of town and left all their alcohol so help yourself.” She said with a laugh.
You heard that right? Her roommates are out of town. Just the two of you…you never know.
You grabbed a drink from the fridge and took a seat on the couch next to her and yeah…the drink started going down faster than usual because of all the nerves in your stomach. The two of you made small talk for awhile but the conversation started flowing a little more naturally about 2 drinks in. Were you still kind of awkward as hell? Yeah…a little. But at least you warmed up to her a bit and weren’t acting so weird. About an hour later, her friends showed up and grabbed you guys to head over to the party. Honestly, things were going so well with just the two of you that you didn’t even want to go to this party but if it meant you got to spend more time with her then there you were. You got to the party and you honestly knew practically nobody. You weren’t exactly a social butterfly but Kate clearly was. She was talking to EVERYBODY. The boys at the party especially loved her. There was lots of laughing and flirting going on, you could feel the jealousy building but acting out was definitely not an option. You ended up socialising with a few of the other people at the party but for most of the night you stuck by Kate’s side, the two of you got pretty drunk together, pouring shots for one another and dancing in the pit of people to extremely loud music. There was a point where it felt like it was just you and her and nobody else was there while the music was blasting into your ears and the two of you were jumping together to the beat and singing out the lyrics to whatever song was on at the time. Kate got really close to you until some guy would come and pull her away in an attempt to make a move on her. Although, it never actually happened. Kate always ended up finding her way back to you. At one point she grabbed your hand and pulled you into the middle of the crowd as the two of you sang (screamed) the lyrics to “love story” into each other's faces. The party, as all do, started to simmer down. You guys actually ended up being some of the last people at the party, you stuck around to the point where the music was gone and most people were just sitting around chatting halfway sober.
“Hey, I think I’m going to go home, I am super tired right now.” Kate says to you.
“Okay, I’ll walk with you, I left my bag at your place anyways so I have to grab it.”
“Right, sounds good.”
Although the two of you had been singing and dancing for hours, she looked just as perfect as when you left and you were trying your hardest not to stare at her while the two of you were walking side-by-side.
The walk back to her place was pretty quick, when the two of you got inside you went to grab your bag and get your things together. You were desperately trying to figure out what to say to her while you were organising your stuff. You didn’t want to come on too strong but you also want to make sure that she knows you had a good time…I guess just tell her exactly that?
“I had a really good time tonight, thanks again for inviting me.” You say as you’re leaning against the wall in her hallway.
“Of course, anytime. And I did too. We should really hang out more when we come back to school.” She replies.
Kate walks towards you and stops about a foot away leaning up against the doorframe to her bedroom. The hallway is super narrow and all you can think about is pinning her against the wall while you kiss down her neck and pull her tight by her waist.
“Yeah I think so too. I guess I should probably head out.” You say as she looks at you with the softest eyes that you swore said “please stay”. You lingered for a second longer as the two of you were looking at each other, tired, kind of tipsy and on the verge of ripping each other's clothing off. All you wanted was for her to actually ask you to stay a little longer but before she had the chance you were already walking towards the door.
“Have a good night y/n.” She says. “Text me when you get home safe.”
“I will. Sleep well Kate.” You reply as you turn to look at her with a smile and step out the front door.
That goodbye felt different. It felt like there were still feelings in the air and lots that wanted to be said that wasn't. It felt like the perfect opportunity with nobody around after an amazing night together has passed but you regret none of it. Although you weren’t able to get a confirmation on whether or not Kate even likes women like you do, you knew there was definitely a type of tension between the two of you that she definitely noticed.

Bright Heavens Institute - A TWST Fan Game
So, it's been a while since I last made the announcement that I was doing a TWST fan game. Has it already been over seven months? Wow, time flies. Unfortunately, due to outside circumstances, I'll be taking the Patreon page down. I'm bummed, yeah, but it's not like it wasn't a learning experience in itself. If anything, I learned I had to plan it out a little better than I did, the fan game itself included.
This does not mean the game is being canceled. Oh, no. Far from it. I'm simply taking some time to reorganize my thoughts, establish a skeleton, and figure out where to go from there. I'll be six feet below the ground before I even think about cancelling this game, and even then I'll find a way to become a ghost and finish it. I'll be nice and share the post I made for those who didn't get to see it, though.
Copied from original Patreon post, with references to Patreon removed:
Hello hello! Fox Witch Aine/Aine Hayes, here. This is a solo project I am working on aside from Miraculous Ladybug, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail. It is an entirely nonprofit project done solely out of passion and not for monetary gain. Not like I can even get away with that, with how draconian Disney is about their IPs.
But!
It would actually be pretty nice to share and stoke excitement for this project, as it's become near and dear to my heart. It would mean so much to me if word got out that there's a Twisted Wonderland fan game with an original soundtrack, beautiful Live2D models done in the style of the main game with gorgeous original designs, and a compelling story featuring seven playable characters.
That's right. Seven playable characters. While the game's writing is still in the planning phase (I've since constructed a working plot skeleton), I have a solid idea of the overall plot progression and the personalities of all 30+ girls attending this school.
Did I say "girls" and "school" in the same sentence? I did.
In fact, this entire project is set in a fanmade school called Bright Heavens Institute, featuring all-new original characters aside from the boys and teachers at Night Raven College, Royal Sword Academy, and Noble Bell College. Just like the aforementioned school, Bright Heavens Institute is a magic school. But a school with an all-female student body. The girls are all weird and wonderful and I love them so much.
The lore of the school goes like this (subject to change in final game):
Bright Heavens Institute was founded by the Queen of the Deep, who worked with a scholar from the surface world to fight back against a mercenary who dared to desecrate her people's way of life.  By fusing with the Abyss Crystal (I gotta come up with a better name some time), the Queen of the Deep harnessed its power to save her people from a volcanic eruption. To honor her memory, the school's founders erected a statue of her and continue her teachings to this day.
Easy enough to understand, I hope.
Just like Night Raven College, the school is separated into seven dorms:
Floraspina - the cottagecore dorm. Based on Bambi, the girls in this dorm are mostly woodland beastwomen. But be warned. They may seem delicate and lovely, but they are not to be trifled with. Every rose has its thorns, after all, and these girls are the very embodiment of that saying.
Vermewilde - the Amazon dorm. Based on Tarzan, the girls in this dorm are an even mix of humans and jungle beastwomen. It is essentially the female equivalent of Savanaclaw, with a heavy focus on sports. Their star athlete Taraji Chalo is also the captain of the school's Spelldrive team.
Sireciel - the pirate dorm. Based on Peter Pan, the girls in this dorm embody the strength, beauty, and spirit of the open sea. There are humans, mermaids, and Fae in this dorm. While the housewarden has an intense focus on propriety and manners, the confidence of these girls is second to none.
Phaluverie - the dream dorm. Based on Winnie the Pooh, the girls in this dorm are a bit spacey. But just like Floraspina, they're not to be underestimated. They have a longstanding rivalry with Octavinelle due to beating a past housewarden in an interschool academics match. The grudge is still carried to this day.
Lanekema - the nerd and geek dorm. Based on Lilo & Stitch, the girls in this dorm focus on engineering and technology. It is essentially the female equivalent of Ignihyde with a Hawaiian theme. While they do collaborate with Ignihyde a lot, there's a noticeable tension between the housewarden and her vice housewarden.
Hypnocreux - the goth dorm. Based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the girls in this dorm are quite spooky. Nonetheless, under the leadership of their current housewarden, their magical prowess is nothing to sneeze at. Count on them to know the ins and outs of potionology and poisons.
Magigranda - the diva dorm. Based on the Fantasia shorts, the girls in this dorm are the cream of the crop in Bright Heavens Institute. Populated by Fae, half-Fae, and humans, they are the female equivalent of Diasomnia. It helps that their housewarden, a diurnal swan Fae, is engaged to Malleus Draconia himself. That's not to say there aren't dissenters, though...
As you all can see, I have high hopes for the outcome of this project. I'm not expecting it to blow sky-high in popularity, but it would mean a lot if word got out that there is a Twisted Wonderland fan game in the works made completely for free. I'm expecting at least a two-to-three year production time. It's already been in planning since... early 2022, at least. I know for sure I will be releasing the project entirely for free once it is done.
Yes. Free. A fan game with gorgeous graphics and music will be published for download entirely for free. The OST will be released for free on Bandcamp (where you can download the songs) and YouTube (where you can listen for free without downloading), there will be livestreams where you can hang out while I work on the project (once I finish setting everything up). And I will accept feedback and critique if people have something to add to make this even better. I look forward to seeing where this will take me once I can put more focus on it.
Thank you for staying with me for this long. Until next time.

I got to say I really liked the episode (despite only having watched exu calamity of the exu series) and I think maybe Matt needed a breather after so many fast paced, lore filled episodes.
however, I am kinda bummed that the fcg processing has been put on hold for (at least) two weeks now and that means that, despite them being great actors that truly merge with their characters at the table, their reactions will be much less raw and there’s a chance some of them will forget tidbits of information, emotions they felt when it happened because they (as role players) will have had time to process it out of the game and it might create a dissonance in the game. tbf I kind of felt the difference even between the end of ep 91 and the beginning of 92 but it made sense because technically they were still running and couldn’t afford to process. idk. I have hope that we’ll still see that raw emotion, but I fear it won’t be as impactful as it could’ve been, especially if they’ll have to put the “reporting for duty” hat on immediately when they get to the camp
I think being a little bummed about the sort of unexpected hiatus on the Bell's Hells/Post F.C.G processing is super understandable! As someone who also really did enjoy the Crownskeepers return (hello im still yelling about Opal internally), I'm kind of in the same camp of being kind of thrown/disappointed about not getting to really dig into/sit with the Bell's Hells post-F.C.G loss. Like, LOVED the Crownkeepers, fascinating second half, kind of meh on the specific timing.
I'm holding my reservations about whether they're going to have to keep running/moving once we return to their portion of the story, since hey, until it happens (or doesn't!), we don't know, so I don't feel like getting too in my head about it until then.
That said! I do think that in general the cast puts characterization and staying true to the emotions of the character/story as a very high priority within the campaign. I think you're right that it won't be the exact same as if they had done a big emotional blowup/goodbye/processing scene in the same ep where they lost F.C.G, or immediately after. I don't think that means it has to be less impactful, just that- yeah, they'll have had more time to actually think/process it.
But they're also all professional voice actors who have, IMO, thus far shown how much they think about the inner lives of their characters and enjoy really digging deep into the emotional/interpersonal aspects of roleplay.
My assumption (my hope?) is that with additional time to think about + process a devastating/deeply emotional loss for their character(s), they'd choose to lean into that more, and not less. It wont be the same as the immediate raw reactions, thats true! But i dont think that means it has to be less impactful, even if they (as people) have had more time to process, and will be choosing how their characters, fresh off the loss, react. I dont think thats a guarantee it will be less impactful/emotional (maybe the additional thinking would actually enhance the reactions being true/insightful to the characters vs gut reactions from cast), but it will be different.
But if the cast chooses to lean into the heartbreak/emotions, and the circumstances of the BH in the upcoming ep enable it, I'm sure they can still kick my ass (emotionally), timeskip or not.
In general, I'm cautiously optimistic about what could happen next! Even if I don't love the timing thus far. I think there's still plenty of ways for me to get what I'm hoping for wrt F.C.G/BH. :] There are plenty of ways for me to get let down too, probably, but until it happens, or doesn't, I'm opting to not get too doomery about it. We'll see.
I uh. Hope that helps? A bit? Being bummed about specific things you were hoping for being off the table is totally reasonable. just hoping to lend an alternate way of viewing it, if desired.
(i wrote the sentence: "don't be lamenting your chickens before they hatch" and then went "what the fuck" out loud. i spent 4 hours at work today just doing systems diagramming and my brain is fried. clearly. keeping this here for my own entertainment.)

what are your thoughts on Larian walking away from BG3/BG4/DLCs?
What a great question!!
So, first to acknowledge my own feelings as a gamer, as a fan of BG3, of the franchise, and, of course, of Astarion : I'm naturally a bit bummed. I would love to play more, read more, watch something, anything really.
Added to that, I also don't trust an outside team to come in to pick up the vision of the original team. I've seen it happen with other games, where the base game was one studio and the DLC was outsourced or they onboarded a new studio to take on it on as the main development team moved on to the next big project. It rarely, if ever, has worked out well.
My hope on the Hasbro/WotC side is that they leave BG3 alone to live on as a behemoth in the history of gaming... however, knowing how game publishers are, how much money BG3 made, the player interest in more content, etc -- there is no way that Hasbro is leaving money like that to the wayside.
Best case scenario I see on this side: they make auxiliary content, like books, toys, comics.
Worst case scenario: they outsource a new game team for DLC.
As for BG4, I honestly didn't expect that to be Larian's next project anyway (I was expecting Divinity 3, so feeling a different disappointment there haha). That being said, I don't think WotC or Hasbro know (and I mean this at the executive level of course) why BG3 did well. There are honestly a ton of factors on why BG3 did well, but that's for another post lol, but I don't think they could replicate that for BG4 with another studio. Doesn't mean I don't think it will be good-- it might be! It will just be very different.
Best case scenario here: they have a good studio make BG4 and it's still good, but it's different.
Worse case scenario here: they try to have a studio replicate what Larian did instead of tapping into their talents, and end up with a buggy, unfun mess. Also they bring back characters just to try to get people to buy it. 🥲
Now, as a game dev, what do I think of Larian's choice in all of this?
I LOVE IT. Wow, Swen Vincke is doing what every single developer wishes they could do if they actually had the power, money, and the influence to do it.
I have wished in the past for my studios to abandon projects, but sometimes it really was necessary to try to keep the studio afloat. As much as you want to work on a passion project, very rarely is it actually something that will keep the lights on. Oftentimes you will have to make that deal with Hasbro for a license or that deal with Epic for exclusivity just to recoup costs. Making games is expensive and, if you want to make anything at the scale that BG3 is, you usually need a lot of partnerships (a lot of their GDC talks were part of partnerships, like Dolby, Amazon, Adobe).
So the fact that they had such a success with BG3 to actually, comfortably follow their creative passions? Wow, wow, wow-- I am rooting for them so hard. I want them to make exactly the game they want and take all the time they need to do it.
Now, even knowing that Hasbro had something to do with this, was what he said about the developers not feeling passionate about the DLC true? Yeah, probably.
I've never seen something kill creative passion more (even if it's for a franchise you like or a game you've loved working on) than a directive from the top for something that's clearly just meant to make people above you more money. And with each partnership comes approvals, comes red tape, comes stakeholders that want to dictate what's in the game (oftentimes to the detriment of the game)-- and the game team can't even object because it's not their license or their brand.
The fact that Larian can say, 'screw that, I don't need more money from you' is truly such an anomaly in gaming. I am so very in awe of them as a developer-- it feels like someone breaking free of the system and paving the way forward for the rest of us. So whatever they do next, I will be there to support them.
BG3 is their most successful game so far, and I'm hopeful they will continue to push those boundaries. They've proven with each release that the core of their studio remains the same: immersive/massive RPG experiences, community-feedback focused improvements, and a well-balanced studio.
The tldr for all of this: I've loved Larian's choices so far and, while I'm bummed as a player, as a game dev I can't wait to see where this one takes them!

Of course right when I started writing again I got sick! I am feeling more better so I will be back to writing this weekend! I think it’s my allergies and a small cold. I am a bit bummed since like I said before I have a slow writing process which I know isn’t what you all wanted to hear but I do it that way so when it comes to series you all don’t have to wait so long for me to write a new chapter and type it up and post it on here. I rather have the whole story typed up before I post it on here! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this chapter and the next chapter will be post on Sunday!
Tumblr media
When Y/N and Ethan got to Sam’s apartment building police cars were everywhere including police tape blocking off the alleyway. Y/N saw a sheet covering up a body. “Oh my gosh.” Y/N said in complete shock. She continued to stare down the alleyway till Ethan tapped her on the shoulder. When she looked up at him, he was pointing towards an ambulance where Tara, Chad, and Mindy were. Tara and Mindy were sitting in the back while Chad was leaning his body on the side of the ambulance. Y/N noticed Mindy’s shoulder was all taped up and she had blood staining her shirt.
Y/N quickly ran over to them with Ethan following close behind her. “Mindy, your shoulder! Are you okay?” Y/N said full of worry. “Yeah, they just got my shoulder.” Mindy told her. “Who…ya know?” Ethan asked, not being able to ask the whole question, but they knew what he was asking. “Quinn and Anika.” Chad answered with a frown. Ethan’s eyes went wide when he said Quinn’s name, but no one seemed to notice. “Fuck! I should’ve been here.” Y/N said with frustration in her tone. “No, Y/N. It was better for you to be at your apartment than you being here and getting attacked again.” Tara told her in a stern tone.
“Y/N.” Mindy said in a soft tone as her eyes started to water. “I’m so sorry about yesterday.” Mindy apologized which made Y/N’s eyes start to water up as well. “I sh- “Mindy started but Y/N stopped her before she could say anymore. “Hey, that’s over with.” Y/N told her as a couple tears made their way down her cheeks. “The only thing that matters is that you are here.” She told her as a small smile started to form on her face as she took one of Mindy’s hands and gave it a light squeeze. Mindy gave her a nod as her lips turned into a small smile.
When Tara saw Detective Bailey walk out of the alleyway to Sam she stood up and walked over to them. He had tears in his eyes. As the sisters talked to the Detective who just lost his daughter Y/N and Ethan stayed with their roommates. “When is this fucking nightmare going to end.” Chad said with anger in his tone since that’s the only thing he could feel at this moment. “I can’t go through this again.” Y/N said as she let go of Mindy’s hand to wipe away the tears that were rolling down her face. “I can’t deal with losing more people.” She said as many more tears just rolled down her face. “Hey, come here.” Ethan said bring her in a hug. Y/N cried into his chest as he rubbed her back in comfort. “Look at me.” Ethan told her. Y/N looked up at him with puffy and red eyes. “We all are going to get through this together.” Ethan told her as he wiped away her tears. Being in his arms helped her calm down. “He’s right, Y/N” Mindy told her as she wiped away her tears. “We’re going to find this motherfucker.” Mindy added in a stern tone and Y/N believed her. That fucker took Anika away from Mindy. Everyone knew how happy Anika made Mindy. That’s why it hurt Y/N to know that Anika is gone.
Y/N saw her mom walk over to Tara and Sam which immediately switched her mood from sad to angry. She let go of Ethan and walked over to them. “Mom, get the hell out of here!” Y/N told her in a demanding tone. “Y/N, I’m here to make sure that everyone is okay.” Gale told her but Y/N wasn’t buying it. “Mom!” Y/N hissed as she glared at her mom. “Really, I am!” Gale said trying to get her to believe Y/N and the sisters to believe her since they weren’t buying her story as well. “Okay fine, off the record.” Gale told them with frustration. Y/N looked over at Sam who made a small nod. “Okay.” Sam said believing Gale. “Thank you.” Gale said, giving Sam a small smile. She then looked at Y/N who avoided eye contact, so she looked over at Tara. She needed to a whole lot more to make it up to Y/N which she completely understood. This wasn’t all just about the book. “I’m-I’m sorry I punched you.” Tara said, trying to sound sincere but failed miserably. “No, you’re not.” Gale said as her lips turned into a smile as she lightly shook her head. “I’m not.” Tara said as her lips curved into a smirk. “Wish I was there to see it.” Y/N mumbled to herself.
“You the cop, right?” Gale asked Detective Bailey. He gave her a nod as a response. “I did some digging on your first two victims and I found something. I know where the masks are coming from.” Gale told him which took the three girls by surprise. “Show me!” Detective Bailey said stepping closer to Gale. Y/N saw the dark look in his eyes, but she didn’t dig too much into it since he had just lost his daughter. “Ladies.” Kirby said walking up to them with a kind smile. “Great to see you here because you are going to want to see this too.” Gale told Kirby with a serious look in her eyes.
 ~~~~~~~~~~
The whole group followed Gale down a large alleyway. “Jason and Greg were little Atlanta rich boys. Apparently, they used fake names to rent this place.” Gale said as they approached a building that looked like a really old movie theater. Y/N noticed the spray paint picture of Ghostface on the brick wall. At the bottom of it was the popular catch phrase. “How did you find this place?” Kirby asked Gale in a curious tone. “It’s called investigative journalism for a reason.” Gale told her in a sassy tone which made Y/N roll her eyes. “How didn’t you find it? Weren’t you tracking them?” Gale asked her. “I went through their financial records dozens of times, and this was not in any of them.” Kirby told her. “This doesn’t make any sense!” She added with frustration. “Don’t worry, I’m just really good at my job. You’ll get there.” Gale said to and flashed her a devious smirk which made Kirby let out a groan of annoyance as she rolled her eyes as well. “Kirby, don’t let her get to you.” Y/N told her as she walked along the side of her. “She cares more about her career than anything else.” She added in a snappy way. She didn’t think that Gale heard her say the last sentence since Gale didn’t defend herself, but she did hear it. She knew there was nothing she could’ve said because she knows that she hasn’t been the perfect mom to Y/N especially as recently.
Everyone followed Gale inside the old broken-down building. They stood behind Gale as she used a card to open up a medal gate. “What is this place? What is with all the security?” Sam asked as everyone continued to follow Gale inside the dark room. “It’s a movie theatre.” Tara answered one of Sam’s questions. “It’s not a theatre.” Gale said flipping on a light switch that lit up the big room. “It’s a shrine.” she said as everyone looked around the room with wide eyes. The room was filled with evidence from all the Ghostface crimes. The room was filled with clothing, items, and drawings of every Ghostface and every victim. Of course, there was a lot of stuff about Sidney as well in some of the glass cases. An old curtain with rips and holes on it lifted to reveal more mannequins with all the Ghostface robes. The one in the middle was in a glass case which obviously belonged to Billy Loomis, the OG. “They have the whole fucking franchise.” Mindy said looking around the room with wide eyes.
The first thing that caught Y/N’s attention was an outfit on a mannequin that she knew belonged to her Aunt Tatum. She walked over to the mannequin and stared up at it with sad eyes. Growing up her dad had showed her so many pictures of Tatum. Both her dad and Sidney told her numerous memories they had of Tatum. “Your father always told you that you looked just like her.” She heard her mom say behind her. Right when she heard her mom say that she heard her father’s voice say that exact thing in her head. “I know.” Y/N said with a sigh. “I just wish I could’ve met her.” Y/N said with a frown as she held everything in. She walked over to a glass case with her mom following close behind her. The glass case had a piece of paper with three drawings of her father. Two of them were of her dad smiling but the picture on the bottom of the page was her dad’s dead bloody body. Next to the drawing was the breakdown of her dad’s injury and where he was stabbed. As Y/N stared at the drawing over father’s mutilated body tears flooded her eyes because she couldn’t keep it in anymore. Flashbacks of that day started to flood her mind. “I need to get some air.” Y/N cried and ran out of the room as fast as she could. Mindy noticed that Gale was about to follow Y/N. “Gale, I wouldn’t!” Mindy told her in a stern tone. Yes, someone needed to go help Y/N calm down, but Gale wasn’t the right person to do that. Gale would just make it worse. “She can’t be alone right now!” Gale said back in a stern tone as well. “We know.” Chad said helping her sister out. “Hey prince charming.” Chad called out to Ethan. “I got her.” Ethan reassured him and made his way out of the room.
Ethan walked outside to see Y/N sitting on the ground with back up against the brick wall that had the Ghostface spray paint design on it. She had her knees pulled up to her chest and cried into the palm of her hands. It broke Ethan to see Y/N like this. He wished that there was something he could do to take away all of her pain. Ethan walked over to her and sat down next to her on the cold ground. “Y/N.” He said in a soft tone. “I’m sorry.” Y/N said after pulling her hands away from her face that was soaked because of the hot tears that were running down her red cheeks. “For what?” Ethan asked, confused on why she’s apologizing to him. “For breaking down.” Y/N cried out. She feels like she’s been crying all day. “Y/N, you never have to apologize for breaking down.” Ethan told her. “It’s not healthy to keep everything in.” He added as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders bringing her body close to his.
That was always the same thing her dad always told her since Y/N isn’t the type of person to just pour out what she is feeling. She’s always hated crying in front of people because it makes her feel weak. When Ethan started to rub her shoulder with his hand, she started to calm down again.
“Can I tell you something?” Y/N asked him as she rested her head onto his shoulder. She wasn’t looking at him, but he was looking at her. “What’s up?” Ethan asked, letting her know that he’s all ears. “I feel like my dad was the glue that held my mom and I together.” Y/N confessed to him. She always had thought that in her head, but this was the first time she had said the thought out loud. “My whole life my mom wasn’t always there for me, but my dad always kept her in check.” Y/N explained to him as her tears started to dry up. “Now that he’s gone, it’s like we’re total strangers. It’s like she doesn’t even realize what she did was wrong.” Y/N said finally looking up at him. Ethan used his other hand to cup the side of her cheek. She leaned into his gentle touch as he stroked his thumb against her cheek. Ethan was at a loss for words. Every time he stares deep into her eyes, he forgets about everything. When they are with each other it’s like they are the only two people on the planet. They started to lean in but were interrupted by a voice calling them.
They pulled away from each other to see Chad standing there. “Oh shit! I interrupted you two again.” Chad said in a nervous tone. Y/N and Ethan just stayed silent as Ethan took his hand off her cheek. “They wanted me to bring you two back inside to discuss a plan to catch Ghostface.” Chad said breaking the awkward silence that was appearing. “You okay to go back inside?” Ethan asked Y/N looking back at her with concern in his brown eyes. “Yeah.” Y/N said with a small nod. Ethan stood up first and then helped her stand up. She thanked him which he let her know that it was no problem. They followed Chad back into the theater. As Detective Bailey was telling everyone the plan Ethan held onto Y/N’s hand the whole time which really helped her stay calm and relaxed.
 ~~~~~~~~~~
Y/N was sitting in the back of a white van with Ethan, Chad, Mindy, and Kirby. Sam, Tara, and Detective Bailey were outside walking around the park they were all at. The plan was to bait Ghostface with Sam being out in the open. When the killer calls Sam, Kirby will use her laptop to track the number to see where the call is coming from. Gale wanted to come but Kirby told her she couldn’t since the press wasn’t allowed to be there which really pissed Gale off.
“So, we’re really doing the phone tracing thing?” Mindy said, giving Kirby a glare who was typing on her keyboard to her laptop. “Never works in the movie.” She added which made Chad let out a laugh. Y/N gave him a look which shut him up quickly. She seriously wasn’t in the mood to deal with another one of Mindy’s rants, but she wasn’t going to lash out at Mindy again since the last time she did, Mindy almost lost her life. She was sitting between Chad and Ethan while Mindy was sitting next to Ethan and Kirby was sitting at a small table in front of Mindy. Y/N let out a sigh as Mindy rambled on to Kirby about how the killer will most likely hang up before she could track where the number is from. “I can trace a call in under fifth teen seconds.” Kirby said as she gave Mindy a confident smirk. But Mindy still wasn’t impressed because she continued to go on about how Sam and Tara are in danger. She also mentioned this is how her and Chad’s uncle Randy died.
Y/N and the boys just stayed completely silent during the back and forth between Mindy and Kirby. Ethan and Chad just ate their food at they looked between Mindy and Kirby. When they stopped to get food Y/N just got a cup of iced coffee. Ethan offered her some of his Cheetos, but she just shook her head no. “Y/N, you really should eat something.” Chad told her as he looked at her with a stern look in his eyes. “I’ll eat when we get a hold of this fucker.” Y/N told him and took a sip of her iced coffee. Ethan and Chad just shared a look but didn’t say anything since they knew now isn’t the time to argue with her and she also very stubborn, so they knew it was no use. Y/N felt her phone vibrating in the pocket of her sweatshirt. She knew it was most likely her mom calling or texting her but when she took out her phone, she realized she was wrong.
“Um, guys.” Y/N said getting everyone’s attention. “Why is the killer calling you?” Mindy asked in confusion as she sees the unknown number flashing on Y/N’s phone. Y/N just shrugged as she stared down at her vibrating phone. “Answer it!” Kirby told her. Y/N answered the call and put the phone up against her ear. “Hello, Y/N” The voice said on the other line. “Where are you?” Y/N hissed into the phone. “I’m not where you and your friends are. I’m not that fucking stupid.” The killer told her in a snappy tone. “You do know that you’re going to die, right?” Y/N threatened but the killer just did a cynical laugh which made her blood boil. “Not before your mother dies.” The killer told her which made her heartrate quickly pick up. “W-what.” Y/N stuttered into the phone as her body went into complete shock. “You better get here before it’s too late.” The killer told her and ended the call.
“What’s wrong?” Kirby asked her full of worry. “The killer is at my mom’s place.” Y/N answered with pure fright.

watching hotd s2 ep3 rn.
the intro of the episode was very good. i myself enjoy some blackwoods being cool, i think the show set up benjicot blackwood (edit: turns out it was davos blackwood and they cut the battle of the burning mill) very well. the switch to the aftermath of the battle of the burning mill really showed how men are eager to engage in war and bloodshed. not to mention, it was overall greatly shot. even if some of the writing this season is a little wacky, they keep serving us with amazing cinematography. i have to admit, the scenes between rhaenyra and mysaria are very intriguing. i like the dynamic between them. the conversation between rhaena and rhaenyra was also interesting. i sympathize with poor rhaena. she probably feels so useless without a dragon. her expression when she was about to depart was heartbreaking. imagine feeling like an ordinary babysitter in a family of dragonriders. she understands her duty, but she still feels almost humiliated by being sent away. criston finally got a haircut as ugly as he is inside. ser gwayne slays, as expected of freddie fox. i'm really hoping that alicent will become disillusioned with criston because of his utter idiocy. i do understand what the showrunners wanted to portray with her sexual relationship with him, but we really got too many scenes of them together for my liking. short note on ep1: it would've been more impactful if we (the audience) became aware of their affair at the very end of the episode, when helaena comes into alicent's room with jaehaera. the shots of harrenhal very pretty much exactly what they were supposed to be. i am liking the portrayal of rhaenys and corlys' relationship. they're very alike, as they were in the books, and yet they are still unique and seperate people. mother rhaenyra breaks my heart, especially knowing what will happen to them. jace hugging joffrey was cute. phia saban always blows me away and breaks my heart. that scene between her and alicent...helaena forgave alicent for trying to talk about what she saw between her and criston, when jaehaerys had just been murdered. judging from this scene and the scene on the stairs in s2 makes me believe that helaena understands why her mother seeks affection from the wrong person. helaena herself is in a loveless marriage where her needs do not matter. i do wish the showrunners somehow brought aegon and helaena together in their shared grief. ulf the white is interesting. when i saw the tavern girl, i was like, why is she familiar? then my mind went OH NO IT'S DYANA. i will, however, remain silent about the brothel scene. i really don't have anything to say, aside from noting the courage of ewan mitchell. i love that gwayne does his own thing, not letting criston talk him down. baela proves why she is called 'the brave.' i'm sorry i'm distracted by how pretty they made ser gwayne. i imagine he'll be a delight to watch on the screen in the coming episodes. rhaenyra's council continues to eat her every nerve aside from rhaenys. daemon in his room in harrenhal is giving when you get scammed by your airbnb with all the drippy ceilings. young rhaenyra in harrenhal just perfectly encapsulates daemon's guilt. it was also a very haunting scene. i missed milly alcock. the alys introduction was just perfect. gayle rankin looks perfect as her, though there's something about her voice that will take some getting used to (i'm neurodivergent and i have a thing with voices, don't mind it). i have to say, this episode has been, for now, the best of the season. geeta vasant patel is an amazing director and i expected nothing short of amazing of her.
i am terribly, terribly sorry for the lengthy train of thought. i truly wrote as i watched the episode. truly thought invoking.
edit 2: i was legit thinking "hm i'm kinda bummed out no one's interacting w my post" then i remembered that it's been sitting in my drafts since yesterday. o yeah, this episode has its faults, but atleast it didn't make me thoroughly confused with the writers and showrunners

A Trip With Bets and Confessions-Paxton x Reader (Hostel)
Summary: After years of being friends with Paxton and his best friends, you all decide to take a trip with them to Slovakia despite his closest friends being against it at first. Things won't be easy when you both have feelings for each other while trying to impress other people to catch each other's attention. (This was requested by @thefanficmonster I hope you enjoy it and sorry for taking so long!)
Tumblr media
"Are you 100% percent sure you're tagging along?" Josh asked once again, he along with the rest of the guys seemed a bit bummed out at first that I wanted to take a trip with them, claiming they wanted nothing more than to hang out with foreign women and bang everyone they would be able to meet.
The thought of that made my blood boil as well since Paxton seemed interested in the idea and would joke around with the guys. I made it seem like I wasn't interested in their shenanigans, when really I was.
"I am going wether you want to or not." I said eyeing the guys and seeing Paxton look away. "You can act like I'm not there anyways, or just think of me as one of you."
"One of the guys?" Oli asked scoffing
"Yeah..as one of the guys." I said finishing up my suitcase ready to head to their long awaited trip to Amsterdam.
The guys began to start talking with each other figuring out how to plan all of this and thinking I would get in their way. Josh was siding with me while Oli and Pax were now going against the idea of me hanging out with them.
"Don't know..seems to me like girls won't be approaching us if they see, (Y/N) in our group."
I rolled my eyes and placed my suitcase down loud startling them. "(Y/N) has studied a lot harder than us, besides we have to thank her since she's the one who helped us with our final exams." Josh told Oli.
"That's true, but! How can we make sure she won't ruin our fun?"
"You guys are the worst. You guys know I don't like to party like you, I'm mostly going fore my future job. Besides, the ticket is already with me so I'm going-"
"Okay, how about this…" Paxton spoke and now looked at me. "Let's start off new, we just finished college and we're finally living the way we want. There's nothing wrong with having a bit of fun, (Y/N) that means you too."
I raise an eyebrow confused at where he's going with this. "Whoever parties the most will be the winner and will get to decide where else we'll be going on a trip next time. You can't continue being the boring one of the group."
I pout looking into his brown eyes and considered it. They are kind of right, I've never been as outgoing as them, maybe acting differently in a foreign country will open up my eyes and make me learn more about life.
"You know what, Paxton? We have a deal." I smirk and we shook hands.
"Aww man. Why travel across the world to bang a girl when you can bang, (Y/N)." Oli said rolling his eyes.
"Oliver!" We shouted his name embarrassed and saw him laughing and Josh rolling his eyes.
"It's settled then, we're all going to Amsterdam tomorrow morning. Let's rest up and meet each other at airport." Josh confirmed and we all nodded and the guys went back with their places to get ready.
We met up with each other earlier at the airport, I lost count at how many hours we have been traveling but we had finally made it to Amsterdam. We were all inside of a train leading us to our next destination with the guys trying to joke and come up with anything so time would pass by quickly.
The guys were laughing at Oli when a man had entered where we were and I couldn't help but feel uneasy around the man, almost as if he were speaking in riddles, he kept on talking about weird things and Oli was freaked out when the man had grabbed him.
Paxton and Josh were laughing at his friend while I remained silent and gave a worried look at Oli who did the same to me.
"Lighten up guys, what was the first rule we agreed on?" Paxton said pulling me closer to him and grabbing my shoulders.
If this were a different situation I would've been blushing over being this close to Paxton, but I was feeling nervous.
"There weren't any rules applied to us." I tell him.
"(Y/N), Oli, just relax..okay?" Josh said leaning his head back and staring outside of the window still looking outside the country side.
Paxton must've sensed me so tense so he stopped joking and turned to look at me. "Seriously, are you okay (Y/N)?" I looked back at him and saw how close we actually were.
"I-I'm.. everything's fine n-now." I stuttered and smiled at him. Feeling close to him made me calm and feel protected in a way, well I did always have feelings for him after all so that's a plus. His brown eyes looked into mine and he made me sure I would feel safe.
After a long journey we made it to Slovakia now. The streets were mostly empty by the time we arrived at a hostel and unfortunately I had to share a room with not only them but two girls who weren't afraid to be nude and show their bodies. It made me uncomfortable being with them and seeing how the guys were looking at them.
"Are you all American?" The girls said trying to come up with a conversation.
"Yeah! Born and raised most of us!"
I remained silent taking a few things out of my backpack while being on a bed on the far edge of the room. I noticed the woman with darker hair looking over at me.
"Are you coming with us?" She asked while her friend looked at me up and down. Now I was very uncomfortable. I don't trust foreigners.
I looked back at Paxton and we exchanged looks, neither of us knowing what to say. The woman must've seen us looking at each other and I heard her chuckle to herself.
"Oh! I'm sorry I didn't know you needed permission from your boyfriend."
Paxton and I exchanged weird looks and I shook my head. "He's not-"
"We're not together." Paxton said making the girls laugh and look at the guys.
"Makes it easier then! There's no hard feeling's between us then. You coming then?"
The guys chased them and I remained in my room. I can't believe they left me alone. Well, whatever I made a bet that I would have fun in this trip, so that's what I'm gonna do. I grabbed some spare clean clothes and went to have a shower.
As soon as I got all cleaned up and rid of dirt and sweat. I began to walk out when I ran into a crowd of people around my age, laughing and chatting with each other. They began to exchange some words with their language with only bits of me understanding, which wasn't a lot. The crowd continue to talk until I heard someone call out to me.
"Hey!"
I stopped walking and turned around to see a rather attractive man, talk with fair skin and dark brown eyes. "Hey sorry for shouting at you." The man said looking a bit shy now that he was close to me.
"No problem." I smiled and the man smiled as well.
"Ah, you're American aren't you?"
"Yeah. I just arrived. I'm on a short vacation to have fun and enjoy for a while."
The man turned around and exchanged words with a few people behind them, all of them laughing making me look at them a bit weird.
"Don't worry they are just friends. We love America, always to visit there myself. You know, we're all heading out for drinks. Wanna come with us?" He asked.
I was taken back by his question that I was about to decline his offer. "I-I don't want to ruin your night, I'm sure you're-"
"Nothing to worry about! I'll say your my plus one, besides I'd love to hear all about America. You said it yourself, you want to have fun." He chuckled and offered me his arm.
Trust me, this'll be a memorable trip for you." He smiled and I was still reluctant but I grabbed his arm and we started to leave with his friends.
It was approximately 9pm, the crowd of us were of six people, we had arrived at a bar which was blasting with music, and could see people drinking and others making drugs in the bathroom. I felt like a fish out of water being in this sort of environment.
I was having just a few drinks, not much since I didn't want to get drunk, deciding to ignore his drinks who wanted me to have some more drinks.
"Just ignore them, all they do is get drunk and blackout right after." The man who had introduced himself as Eli told me.
"Well I'll tell you America is definitely very different from this country. I see you don't have an accent, are you from America as well?" I asked genuinely wanting to know a bit more about him.
The man choked up a bit and shook his head, "N-No, I'm not American but have stayed there just for short periods of time. Still I don't know much about the country, which is why I'd like to learn from you." He said giving me a smirk.
"There's nothing worth talking about America-"
"Well how about you tell me about yourself? Any goals in life? Boyfriend?" He chuckled taking another drink.
I looked at him and settled my empty drink down on the table. "I'm not sure what I want to do, maybe work at a company, sell properties,..still not sure but would love to do it by myself. And no, i don't have a partner."
Eli smile and seemed content at my answer. "A strong girl who knows what she likes. I love it. I'm single as well, and umm maybe I'd love to direct some things."
"Really? A movie director then?" I ask and I saw him smirk a bit.
"Something like that…"
I turned around and saw Paxton along with Oli, Josh and the Slovakian girls. Some punk music began to play in the bar making me feel a sudden rush and headbang to the music.
"Wanna dance?" I asked Eli who seemed taken back. He shrugged his shoulders and took one last sip and we both began to laugh and try to dance and headbang to the music.
People around us doing the same and having a great time, and I as well was enjoying this. Eli and I continued to dance and have a great time until he excused himself to probably head to the bathroom.
I could feel Paxton's eyes on me the entire time I was with Eli. I stopped dancing and I smiled walking over to Paxton who seemed bored, angry, uncomfortable in a place like this?
"Didn't expect to see you here!" I said shouting through the loud music.
Paxton had on a stern face which made me worry a bit. "What's up?"
"I thought you would be back at the room. I went back to look for you but saw you weren't around. Didn't expect to see you here with a guy other than us."
I crossed my arms over my chest and stared back at him. "You guys did leave me to hang out with those girls and fuck them."
Paxton closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was containing his anger. "I didn't fuck them, (Y/N)." He said looking back at me. "They..aren't my type.." he muttered.
"As soon as I knew you were missing I decided to tag along with them here since it seems that they are friends with the guy you were dancing with. I came here hoping that you weren't missing, you..really did scare me, (Y/N)."
I worried him then. How can I be so reckless and come out here with telling him first for my safety. "I'm sorry Paxton for making you worry about me."
Paxton kept looking at me until I saw his expression change, "At least I know you're safe. You've always been a strong girl, it's one of the things I love about you."
We both remained silent until he must've figured out what we said. "It's not…Just forget what I said." He blurted out quick and tried to hide his face.
I blushed looking at him so I took his hand and quickly kissed his cheek. "I really care about you too, Pax. I'll make sure to not worry you any longer, from now on we do everything together..okay?"
Paxton glanced back at me and smiled holding onto my hand tighter and raising it up and kissed my hand. "I'll continue to be your knight in shining armor then."
Paxton and I began to walk further into the bar reuniting with Josh and Oli along with a girl they met known as Kana. The four us us began to talk and have a nice night, what we didn't realize was that three people kept looking at us.
"How about we head back to the room?" Paxton said whispering into my ear. I blushed and didn't think much of it and I slowly nodded my head and felt Paxton kiss the top of my head.

I know this sounds somewhat hypocritical as someone who loves Survive and Hollow Knight very very very much, one of the biggest things that puts me off from series is when there's too much death and/or general carnage. And it's not even that I'm sensitive to gore or can't handle some death.
It's that once everyone starts dying, I stop having fun! I'm not enjoying cool action scenes because everyone I liked is dead, but I'm not even properly sad about any of the deaths anymore because goddamn everyone else is fuckin dead am I supposed to be surprised now? You can only cram so many emotional scenes into a short period of story before I completely stop feeling anything at all.
The reason I like Survive anyways is because there's a truthful route where everyone lives, and even if there wasn't, there's still the moral route where most of them live. If it was JUST the wrathful route or JUST the harmony route I'd fuckin hate it! The fact that that would be a dreadfully short game notwithstanding, I'd be pretty pissed if I spent so much time gaining affinity with these characters and watching them bond with each other and the mc just for the game to end with half of them dead and the other half living in a post apocalyptic hellhole. As full games those routes are ass! But existing as they are as just extreme hypotheticals of what could have happened to these characters if just a few more things went wrong and they weren't as strong of a team, and we get to learn more about them by seeing how they act when pushed to the brink...yeah that is fun. It's like "well I know that this character is okay but it's cool seeing what COULD have but did not happen to them." And you know what despite Ryo literally being one of my favorite characters, I still would've loved Survive just fine without the truthful route because the moral route is a very good stand alone story of a bunch of kids who were met with tragedy but only became closer because of it and still managed to find a happy ending for themselves.
And Hollow Knight, well. For one it's largely helped by the fact that it is a video game and not a show, therefore the fact that it is just INCREDIBLY fun to play goes a long way in making me mentally insane about it. But it's not just that! From the very start of the game you KNOW you're playing through something sad. The sad doesn't sneak up on you, it's always there. Rather than playing through the downfall of a kingdom, you're exploring the ruins of a once-beautiful kingdom, learning what happened to it, meeting the inhabitants, befriending the last little glimmers of hope in this dying world, and fighting to save them. And yeah depending on the player's actions you lose a few of them along the way, but a) as I said some of them only die depending on what the player does, and b) I feel like enough of them have satisfying endings that I'm not too fixated on the ones that die. Ofc Quirrel being probably dead bums me out, and it sucks that you can't do anything for Myla, but hey, your homie Elderbug is fine, Cornifer is fine, you can save Cloth and even Zote if you'd like. Your Mantis buddies are still around. Brumm can be having a silly good time OR you might have a son now. Idk to me HK is finding hope and happiness amid despair rather than losing hope and falling into despair.
Unlike series that are like whee we're a fun action adventure--just kidding everyone is dead.
Oh well we started sad but if everyone works together then maybe there's hope that--psych they are all in fact still dead.
What a silly goofy show about kids having a fun--lmao you fell for that? Nah they're dead too.
Obviously other people are into that otherwise there wouldn't be so many popular series that do that but my god do I hate it literally every single time I have never once gone "you know what this story IS better now that none of my favs are in it and whoever's left has been doing nothing but fighting nonstop without an ounce of the playfulness or humor that originally drew me into this series."

Golden heart (SATBK au fic) chapter 7
Another long chapter, and I am very exited to share it, this one was fun. Sonic and Miles go through the back entrance of the castle and meet someone slightly new. Heres to hoping they don't get caught after this.
Chapter1 Chapter6 Chapter8
Chapter 7- Catacombed
The wind blew a cold breeze past the two, howling out a loud cry as it rustled the leaves of the foliage that decorated the landscape. Sonic Instinctively slapped the foxes hand who was obviously surprised by it, but thankfully not upset.
Miles folded his arms. “So what sort of genius plan did you make?”
“I Uh… don’t have a plan, actually…” Sonic nervously admitted.
“I figured” Miles rolled his eyes before walking past Sonic and up the dirt path. “I guess we should try the front entrance.”
“No no no no! Wait!” Sonic zoomed in front of the older fox. “I have an idea!”
“Let’s hear it, then.”
“Well…” Sonic began as he folded his hands behind his back. “We COULD go the boring way and go through the front door and maybe maybe not get in… OR we could go down through the dark basement labyrinth areas that all castles have!”
“You mean catacombs?” Miles raised a brow.
“Yeah that! We can sneak right in and surprise the guy!”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Sonic.”
“What? Just because you’re older than me, you suddenly have all the wisdom?” He waved an encouraging hand before jogging off. “Come on! It’ll be fun!”
“Wait!- ugh…” Miles groaned as he followed the blue hedgehog.
It was similar to those many years ago. That hyperactive hedgehog was the same as the king even before he was crowned. Always impulsive, never stopping, never slowing down, not for more than a moment. ‘I’m as free as the wind!’ He would say, ‘Knight of the wind’ he was. The world was calling to him, and he would always answer it. As much as one would groan at his impulsivity, it was that that made him beloved by many, and all he would help along his many travels.
One would think it was his chivalry, he WAS still a knight, but he would always come to the same answer; ‘it was never about chivalry for me. I just gotta do what I’ve gotta do, that’s all.’ A knight for the people, a loving king for everyone. But after he was crowned King, he seemed sort of… bummed out. No one really knew why, but maybe… maybe it was because it didn’t seem like he was helping out of his own heart. Maybe it just seemed like a job.
“Do you even know where the entrance is?” Miles asked.
“Nope! I don’t even know if this place HAS catacombs!” Sonic grinned.
“You created a plan you didn’t even know would work?” Miles said flatly.
“Hey, I’m not hearing good ideas from YOU!”
“Uh, THE FRONT DOOR!”
“Found it!”
Miles sighed and stepped beside Sonic. He had uncovered an old door that was covered with plant life, vines and bushes and whatever foliage decided to latch itself onto it. Even removing the foliage, the door was stuck.
“Oh no! We can’t continue on!” Miles said flatly. “We better go and try using THE FRONT DOOR, which is the EASIEST way!”
“Ha! YOU underestimate me! ‘Brotha from different blood-a’!” Sonic said.
“I don’t know what you just said, but even I know that’s not how that would go.”
“Shut up and watch this!” Sonic revved up a spin attack and launched himself at the door, breaking it off its old and rusted hinges. “See! Like a pro! Come on, we got things to do!”
Sonic marched on inside, Miles sighed again and followed after him into the contrasting darkness. The tombs were cold, dark, and dusty, only being lit by faint embers of torches that were on their last breath. Sonic took a hanging torch off its mantle and reawakened the embers, blowing carefully to refuel its flames, it wasn’t much but they could see at least a little bit better. The two traversed down, deeper into the bowls of the castle.
“If you get us lost in here, I swear to gaia…” Miles cursed.
“We won’t get lost!” Sonic reassured. “We just gotta keep a mental note of where we’re going!”
Miles rolled his eyes and looked around. All around them were walls of old stone bricks still holding up after many years, old lanterns and torches still hung up and burning, though not as bright as their own torch. There was an old carpet at their feet, it seemed that this place had been kept under some maintenance.
They passed many old rooms, some were for storage, one was for a winery, some were for more stairs. There were so many doors, possibly a bit too difficult to remember them all. It was a good thing that opening them could show exactly what they are.
Miles stopped and peaked his head up at a stairwell, he could faintly hear a pair talking, but he couldn’t discern who. Neither of them didn’t really sound like the king, but it has been a while since he’s had a conversation with him.
“Sonic, I think I found a way out!” Miles called to him, but received no answer. “…. Sonic!” He called again, there was still no answer. “Sonic come here!” He said louder, his voice reverberated down the hall.
“Hey, Miles, I think I found something cool!” Sonic ignored and called out to the fox.
“Why do I even bother…?” Miles groaned and walked over to where Sonic was standing
“Look at this!” Sonic pointed to a decently sized dark oak door. It had a variety of painted embellishments onto it. “It has a big lock on it though.”
“Well, then we probably shouldn’t go into it. If it’s locked for a reason, then who knows what could be in-“
There was a click, and the door cried as it opened before Miles’s eyes.
“There we go!”
Miles blinked. “… how did you do that?”
“My friend Shadow taught me how to pick locks with my quills one time!” Sonic held up two of his quills before tossing them aside. “Helps that I have an unlimited supply of them!” He cockily grinned. “Now let’s see what’s inside!”
Miles grabbed sonic by the arm. “Sonic, I don’t think we should go in there. It might’ve been locked for a reason.”
“Ah come on, Miles! It'll be fine!” Sonic waved a dismissive hand. “What’s the worst that can happen?”
“Oh I don’t know, If someone found us, we could be out in jail? Or worse, exiled?”
“Why would we be exiled for being in a room?”
“I don’t know? It depends on how bad whatever is in there is!”
“Miles, it’s fine! You got nothing to worry about!”
Miles gripped his own ears in frustration. “Ugh! I don’t understand! Why are you so dumb and impulsive?!”
Sonic's grin disappeared. Those words coming out of his brother- or another version of him, felt more hurtful than if anyone else had said it. Even if he didn’t mean to say it in a hurtful way.
“Okay, I don’t know why I’m ‘dumb and impulsive’. But I’m not all like that.” Sonic said. “I guess it’s just that I live in the moment, for the adventure and adrenaline. And… I guess that with you around, I kinda get carried Away…”
He gave a bright smile. “I like adventuring with my little bro! And, well, you remind me of him! Well, you kinda ARE him. So I want to adventure with you!”
Miles put a hand over his mouth as he tried to choke back tears. That was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him since he was with the king. He looked away and coughed.
“W-Well… If it’s for being with you… then I guess we can look inside for a little bit. As long as we try not to get caught.”
“Haha yeah!” Sonic hit the fox’s shoulder. “Now we’re talking!” He went inside the room, bouncing from one foot to the other. “Now come on! Let’s see what’s inside!”
The room had shelves filled with beautiful trinkets and treasures, possibly taken from the many adventures of the person, or persons. There was a beautiful array of various vases, books, figures, coins, pant life that had long since wilted, all decorated among each shelf. Swords and knifes laid and leaned against each surface. Old cloth hung on the furniture. It was like stepping into some sort of treasure trove
“Woah! This is so cool!” Sonic carefully lifted up a small figure. It was carefully hand carved from the most darkest wood and sealed to keep it from rotting. It was a bird, but he didn’t know what kind it was supposed to be. It was still beautiful.
He turned to Miles who kept his hands to himself, and looked over each item that had accumulated dust overtime. He didn’t want to accidentally break anything, though those blades intrigued his blacksmith heart.
“Hey, you know. I don’t think anyone would mind if you picked up something to look at it…” Sonic said.
“I- yes I know…” Miles blushed a little in embarrassment. “I just… don’t want to break anything-“
A dagger crowded His face, sonic had taken it from its shelf and brought it to him. “Hey, it’s not like a skilled blacksmith like yourself will damage it!”
The blacksmith grabbed the dagger from his hands. “It’s still someone else’s property! We shouldn’t be messing around with- … wait…”
Sonic tilted his head. “What?”
The fox brought the end of the handle close to himself and examined it. He felt the leather that tightly wrapped around it. “….. This is my work…”
“You mean, you made that?”
“I had made this for the king right before his coronation…” he looked at a dull sword that leaned against the wall. “… and I gave this to him as a birthday present” he turned to sonic, looking around the room. “Are… ALL of my works in here?”
“Well I hope so! I would not have myself replaced by some common sword!” Outcome a muffled voice.
“…did you hear that?”sonic asked.
“That voice is… familiar..” miles looked to where the voice came from.
“If you are who I think you are, I should hope that I am familiar to you!” The voice barely escaped from its hiding place.
A decently large wooden chest adorned with leather straps sat deep in a dark corner, away from everything around it, like someone had purposely hid it away, tried to at least. A large lock kept the chest from opening.
“Think we should open it?” Sonic asked the fox.
“… I’m not sure…” Miles rested his chin in his hand.
“Oh for Gaia’s sake, I can’t believe I'M the one who has to say this- JUST OPEN THE DAMN CASE!” The voice had jostled the chest from side to side.
The two looked at eachother again. Sonic shrugged and walked over to the case. He plucked a quill of two from his head, kneeling down and unlocked it with a satisfying click.
“Ah, finally! Hurry up and open it! I can’t stand being in this dusty chest for much longer!” The voice nagged.
Sonic lifted the roof of the case. “You know, I think there was probably a good reason why you were-“ Sonic had begun to tease the voice but stopped. Inside the chest was… a sword? A large one to.
“What? What was the reason?” The sword demanded. “Tell me! I would like to hear it!”
Sonic's mouth was agape. “Uhh…. What the heck?”
Miles leaned over the hedgehog's shoulder, his eyes widened once they had landed on the blade. “Caliburn?!”
Caliburn smiled once he recognized the fox. “Ah! Blacksmith Miles! It has been so long!”
“Wait- Caliburn? Like the sword in the stone?” Sonic said bewildered.
Caliburn was lifted out of the box by Miles, even though it still shined, his blade was dulled by its lack of use and full of dust that had made its way inside the case. He might’ve been in that chest for a long time, but who knows how long.
Miles stroked the blade. “I’m sorry this had happened to you.”
“Ah, do not be sorry, Smithy.” Caliburn said. “It wasn’t you who put me in this chest.”
“Um, sorry to interrupt. But I think I’m still caught up in, the sword in the stone talks?!” Sonic stuck his hands out.
The sword bounced from the smithy’s hand over to Sonic. “What’s this? King sonic? Why do you look so young?”
“Hey, I’m not the king! But I my name IS still sonic the hedgehog!”
“He’s from another world. One where the king is, well, not the king.” Miles said to the sword.
“I see…” Caliburn mumbled.
Sonic folded his arms. “Yeah, I’ve been getting recognized as the guy a lot.”
“Well, I can certainly see the resemblance. It seems like you’d be as reckless with a sword as he once was!”
“Wuh- HEY!”
Miles tried to hide a chuckle before he spoke. “He does have a mind of his own, sonic. He is supposed to choose its bearer.”
Sonic softened his expression and gave a chuckle back. “Yeah, well it’s got a pretty smart mouth on it for a sword!”
“Hmph! The impertinent one is you, Hedgehog!” Caliburn paused before that last word. They had said this before, a long time ago.
“If you don’t mind me asking. Who put you in that chest?” Miles had took Caliburn by the handle again.
“I think you know who.” Caliburn answered with a wary and sorrow-filled voice.
“Are you talking about the king?” Sonic raised a wary brow.
“Yes. He had sworn to never touch another blade like myself.” Caliburn said sorrowly. “Not after what he had done.”
“Okay, not to be rude. But all day people have been talking about something bad happening in the past, and no one is telling me anything about it!” Sonic cried. “Can I please at least know what’s going on?”
“I may be of use…” came a soft voice from the opened doorway. They turned their attention to the purple knight who stood there, taking up minimal space, her helmet still on her head.
Caliburn smiled at seeing the knight. “Ah! Sir Percival. It’s nice to see you again.”

wow!!! that was a year
as I begin to write this post I'm not even sure if I'm going to post it, lmao. I guess it depends on how much of a bummer it turns into. and if it helps me sort out some thoughts, then it won't have been a complete waste of time.
waste, huh...
on one hand, I don't... reaaaally?? want to talk about what's been going on in my life? but on the other hand, there's a part of me that's like "wow, Naem, that makes it sound like you've been struggling with some serious shit, which is straight up not true, do you just want people to feel sorry for you?" and then on the third mutant hand (I have a lot of those, it turns out) there is a different part of me that does acknowledge the way this other section of my brain jumps straight to accusatory self-flagellation is something many people do not, in fact, struggle with
I've been doing remote therapy this year! it's alright. my therapist has some wild ass takes from time to time, and it is perhaps one of my most substantial monthly expenses (note: yes I still live with my parents so, you know, I don't pay rent), but she IS insightful and a good professional so like. I feel, on the whole, it's working out well for me. a-aside from the part where I still can't seem to love myself consistently but unfortunately I don't think anybody else can fix that for me. I just... have to keep working on it.
speaking of therapy, maybe I should tell her in the next session "hey, cool new year, uhhh I keep finding myself thinking it isn't worth getting excited or feeling hopeful for anything because as time goes on there will only be more and more things to be sad about, because everything is finite and loss is a constant, and it's kind of bumming me out?" maybe I should. honestly, that was the thought this post was going to center around initially, but I've found other things to talk about, thankfully.
ah man. heck. I JUST narrowed down the exact thing motivating this post. "the dread I feel when i see everyone on social media post about their Year In Review." so much of this is about the unrelenting passage of time.
not everything is a huge bummer. experienced some good-ass media this year. Hi-FI Rush was really cool, Midnight Mass was so good it got me to watch it three times in spite of how bad I am with horror, Across the Spiderverse was as good as everyone said - speaking of Spider-Man, I think I've come to terms with adopting Curt Connors as a blorbo, which has nothing to do with Spiderverse but is, perhaps, a baby step in the direction of Accepting The Trash I Like. excited for more Jojolands. Jujutsu Kaisen S2 was really fucking good, so much so that I'm afraid no future arcs will grip me the same way. oh yeah, I got really into Will Wood this year, which is a bit embarrassing because his fanbase seems to be composed primarily of teenagers, but hey. sort of circling back around to me needing to accept what I like, I guess.
I've been taking other baby steps, namely towards Drawing More Often. I... have, right?? I know I haven't posted everything I drew, but it was definitely more than, say, two years ago. which is nice. hope I can keep that up or, even better, Do It Harder.
I don't have a habit of making New Year's Resolutions. I do have a couple of wishes, but I'm frankly not sure if they're anything I can control. Financial stability? Well, there are certainly efforts I can make in that direction, as much as I hate even looking at LinkedIn. To stop finding myself trapped in the middle of interpersonal conflict that I care about too much even when it doesn't directly concern me, resulting in weeks of heightened anxiety at a minimum? I think if it were within my power to stop that, I would have already done it, but uhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ah man. I should have found a nicer note to end this on. ummm.
I deeply appreciate all of my friends, not only for being generally rad people but also for seeing nice things in me when I can't. This goes quadruple for my girlfriend, who manages to do all that while also struggling with brains that are very mean and unfair to her.
I feel like I said this last year, but I hope I can learn to depend on you all a little less going forward. Not in a "get out of my life you LOSERS" kind of way, but in a "thanks for the support, here, I can stand on my own two feet, so don't worry about lending me another one" kind of way.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am not feeling great today. Both physically and emotionally. I probably should have taken today off. But I did not. I pushed myself to hard and I honestly feel really bad right now. But I am trying to remain positive.
I slept okay last night. When we got home I got a shower and tried to be in a better place mentally but I was just feeling really down. I wanted to be with my family more. I wanted to feel more settled. I wanted another day off. I was very upset and James was trying to help but I was just kind of falling apart.
Sleep didn't help as much as I hoped. My dreams didn't really bring me any comfort.
I got out of bed and was coughing and uncomfortable. But I wanted to go to work. I did not want to go to work but I also did and was just having a lot of mixed and weird emotions.
James had packed me a lunch but I wasn't excited about eating at all. The bagel they made me was good. I ate it on the drive in to get and perk myself up. And it wasn't a bad drive. It wasn't even a bad day. I just did not feel great.
When I got to camp I got right into working on the drawing for the iron workers who are going to make the long house super structure. This was actually kind of hard. It was a bit like drawing a lobster cage. But I think I got the message across. And if they need more instructions or directions I can do my best.
I would do some more work on the schedule and specifically the cabin choice programs. Me and Heather had a conversation trying to work out more what the vision is. And I think we have a better handle on it now. The work continues but I think it's going to be really good in the end.
I would take a lot of breaks. I was coughing s lot and just feeling out of sorts. I considered leaving early but in the end I toughed it out.
I had my lunch over a two hour block while still typing away and watching TikToks. I would also do some sewing if the little felt bears I found in my sewing bag. It was nice.
I was frustrated that I thought my two packages were going to be at camp when I got there but they weren't and I was bummed. But we had some slips for packages so I was sent on a errand to get them from the post office. Where I had the most bizarre conversation.
The woman, when I handed her my four package slips, said "oo someone loves you" and I was like well someone loves camp. And she's like oh are you guys out there? And I'm like yeah we're actually open all year. And she goes oh I know that. And I was like oh okay. Like I thought she just was surprised about us being there. Then she goes I'm just surprised we have packages. And I'm like oh yeah we were surprised too because the note online said our business was closed. And she was like oh well we never drop off packages to you guys, we have had a deal since 2003. And I'm like. Oh? And then she alluded to it being weird I was coming to get packages. I left this conversation absolutely baffled. It was like talking to a wizard.
I walked to the 711 and got a donut and candy for later. And went back to camp. I would wait until I got home to open my packages. But the two others were camp things. One for Joe. And the other the contact paper we ordered to cover the branding on the signs.
I was very proud how close the color was. It almost looks intentional now. Me and Sarah would walk over to the woodlands village and it took a bit of time to measure out the pieces but we got them all cut and installed and it looks great. I was worried it would look like we photoshopped it so I had Sarah take a picture of me installing it to to send to the Smithsonian people. And pretty quickly after Heather sent the photos off they responded and thanked us for cooperating and we thanked them for letting us still have the signs. All is right in the world.
I would go home soon after that. I was tired. It was starting to rain. I was only leaving a little early. I talked to Heather about some of the stuff I could handle tomorrow. And then I was off.
I would get home around 430. And I was really excited to see that all of our stuff is finally in the house!! James had texted me through the whole thing this morning. The moving guys were apparently great and the one even asked for Tina's contact info because he liked the apartment so much. I thought that was so sweet.
I had thought maybe I would lay down for an hour when I got home but James was almost done making dinner so instead I got in the couch and opened my packages. The one was my birthday gifts for myself. A baby baggu, a baggu minu crescent bag with embroidered hearts, a t shirt that says "my favorite T-shirt" in flocked lettering. It also came with some free gifts. A note book and pens. A stress ball shaped like a half an orange. A charger cord. Some trinket dishes I'll probably regift. It was fun.
The other package was the wall sconces I ordered. We will probably try to figure those out soon. But I was not in a place mentally to figure those out.
James would go up to their room to record their podcast and I would spent the next two hours moving the shelves around in the living room to work best. They are not in the originally planned lay out but this ended up working out way better. There is still a lot to put away but I made so much progress. I even started hanging my looms on the wall. I'm really excited for the progress. I hope to start hanging more and putting more things away over the next few days.
I enjoyed my podcast while I was doing all of this. I worked on organizing our new pantry bookshelf in the kitchen. And moving things around. But I was getting frustrated because James said we would go get groceries together after they recorded and I felt like they record for to long. Like I know they are having fun and having hobbies but also. Hang out with me.
They would finish around 730. And they would help me hang a shelf before we put our shoes on and headed out into the world.
First stop target. My tension rod for the pantry bookshelf was lost during the move today. So James got me a new one. And I wanted binder clips for a storage idea I had. I also insisted on getting a $1 yellow chick but James said I could only have it if I carried it in the air the whole walk around the store and by God I did it. Silly time.
Then we want to Harris teeter next door. I started very very much not feeling well in that store. On the drive to the shopping center my ears had closed up and all of a sudden in the seafood section of the store they opened up and everything was so loud and I felt very sick.
But I held it together. We got the things in our lists. And went to check out.
The line was confusing though and three people jumped us and we were in line for a seemingly long time. But it didn't help that I didn't feel good. I helped James scan by passing them things from the cart. It didn't take long once we were at a register. I was just happy to get out of there.
We got home and brought everything inside. I went and fo up and a table cloth and set up my sewing machine on the ground to fashion a curtain for the pantry. And while it's a little short I think it looks darling. And after James got all the grocery says they took the trash out and moved all of our Lego flowers to the top of the kitchen cabinets and it looks so sweet. I really love how things are coming together.
Now we are laying on the couch. Sweetp is here. Things are good. I took the inhaler. Which has been an almost daily occurrence. And it helped a lot. But I am still very tired. I want to wash my hair though and get in bed. And I really hope tomorrow will be better.
Sleep well my friends. Be safe. I love you.

Love me, not him! (3/7)
When I was younger I really liked those stories and games where you could choose your own path. So I tried it here, because I could never really decide who is better of the two...
(But my art is worst – so don’t expect photos or something like this…🥴😅)
I'm still trying my best to write in proper English... I hope you still like it... And maybe I should post this stuff somewhere else... It got way to long 🫣😅🤨
„How could Mereoleona be so mean to me? Why does she want me to forget Fuegoleon?“ You asked yourself. Literally; you were staring at your own reflection in the little stream, beneath the bridge you stood on. It got dark meanwhile and the moonlight glittered in the water.
But no matter how long you stared at yourself, you couldn't find an answer to your question.
***A: Maybe I should just ask her what’s wrong. ***
***B: Anyway... Let’s pretend today never happened and head home. ***
***C: * sigh * It's late.... I shouldn't worry her. I better get back before she starts looking for me. **
3A
“Yeah – to make things clear would be the best option”, you nodded to yourself. You wanted to know what’s going on between the two of you. Or at least; why she did what she did.
„After all she is the only one who knows about my feelings for her brother. So why would she want to drive a wedge between us? She even promised me to help me out and support us.“
But being remembered of this fact – you still regret how talkative you were in this night - one thing came to another and both your motivation and confidence melted down like a snowman in summer.
„I... I can't. She only knows about this because I failed badly back then, when I want to confess my feelings for Fuegoleon...“
Your heart was beating fast in your chest. Your hands were shaking, even worse than your voice.
You did it. You confessed your long-held feelings for Fuegoleon. Maybe it was not the best moment to do so. Neither the best place for a confession. But you couldn’t hold back in the moment he came to your aid.
Being bright red you looked up at him. As you met his eyes he was looking at you with a friendly smile, like always. „Oh, I am sorry, (Y/N). What did you just say? Your voice was so quiet, I couldn’t understand you.“
From all the possible outcomes, this was the worst. The world around you shattered by his words .You started feeling a lump in the throat. Felt how your chest tightens up. You couldn’t breathe and your body starts to tremble. A fight against the upcoming tears got started. Doomed from the moment he approaches you to hand you the book you asked for. The book you couldn’t reach at the top of the bookshelf.
„Could you please repeat what you just said?“
No. Impossible. Your mind went empty at the moment he asked you for the first time to repeat yourself. The needed courage to repeat your confession was extinguished. Got used up for the first confession.
The awkward silence got worse as you felt the glances of the other people, the other members of the order. Glances, sharp enough as they could pierce someone.
You bit your lips and went back a few steps to hopefully escape this Situation. Not minding your steps. As a result, you stepped over your own feet and fall on your bum.
„(Y/N)?! Are you okay?” With worry in his eyes, Fuegoleon came closer. He reached out his hand to help you up.
But you couldn’t even look at him. Tears started filling your eyes and without another look at him, you fled headlong from the library. Never wanting to see him again...
„But we saw each other again. I even become one of his closest confidantes. Even if we never talked about this event again.
Being honest with yourself; It was not the brightest idea to confess in such a situation. At this place, in front of other people. “At that time it was something romantic for me. But even Mereoleona laughed at me.”
Later, when everyone was looking for you, she was the one who found you. You couldn't help but tell her what had happened.  “I still don’t know why I told her everything. But she wanted to help us. But it never really happened. You sighed deeply and scratched your head. “Damn it. This – my poor communication skills – could maybe be a problem. Maybe I also got her wrong on this day and she never wanted to help me at all.  Talking again about this could it even make worse...“
After another deep breath you decided to head back. It’s not worth worrying about it. At least; not out here in the cold of night. It would work better in a warm bed as a sleeping aid. Nevertheless a clarifying conversation with Mereoleona would be necessary. You would just have to prepare thoroughly.
As you went back, you noticed the short way to the city gate was besieged by three half-breads – looking at you with grim look. An uneasy feeling grips you. You wanted to shake it of, when you felt a sharp pain in your cheek. Before you even realized what happened you find yourself in a fight against those three teenagers...
3B
You took in a deep breath before you pushed yourself away from the wooden railing of the little bridge, to head back, from your little hideaway outside the Capital-City, to the HQ of your Order. You felt like you were in a small forest as you walked along a small, dark path lined with trees and bushes. As you made your way home, you noticed three people around the age of teenagers. You couldn't say why, but a strange feeling came over you as you made eye contact with one of the three, who was lying on the ground. You quickly tried to hide something as soon as they noticed the emblem on your cloak. At first it seemed suspicious to you. But you didn’t have the time or the nerves to worry about this. Especially not the nerves.
„Come on, (Y/N). Mind your own business. They do nothing illegal or something like that. Maybe they hide some alcohol or something like this. It's not worth the worry.“
You turned your face away, looking at the ground. But an uneasy feeling grips you. You wanted to shake it of, when you felt a sharp pain in your cheek. Before you even realized what happened you find yourself in a fight against those three teenagers...
3C
As you were about turn around, old memories of the night you got to know her, caught up to you.
„It's like back then; When I wanted to confess my feelings to Fuegoleon. But I couldn’t find the courage to speak up again after he didn’t hear me...“
You remembered running away from him, never wanting to see him again and flee to this very same spot; the little river outside the city. A place you found by chance, but you felt safe there. “Probably because people rarely stray there...” you thought to yourself with a little smile on your lips. “But sometimes… they do. At least back then when I first met her…”
It got dark when you stopped running and found yourself at a little river, close to the walls of the capital city. But with all the trees and bushes it seemed like a little forest. A place you had not known until then. No one was around, so you could cry to yourself for a few hours. Giving yourself bad names for being such an idiot and stupid enough to think he would like you back as much as you like him. You also toyed with the idea of running away. Like a little child, and never ever come back. The only thing holding you back was that you were freezing in the upcoming night. And your stomach - who told you, you were hungry...
So, with no warm blankets and no hunting skills, you made your way back to the HQ when someone approached you; a young lady, perhaps a few years older than you. She walked directly towards you, and you noticed the similarities to Fuegoleon. But it was when she began to speak that you connected the dots; “This is Mereoleona Vermillion, Fuegoleons older sister”, you realized. “Send help… If she really is the kind of barbarian that she is said to be by everyone…”
“Hey!? What do you think you’re doing? Everybody is already looking for you, especially my little brother.”
Uncertain whether she really meant you, you first looked behind you - no, there was really no one else around - as you pointed uncertainly at yourself.
“Yes, of course you!” She almost shouted at you and crossed her arms in front of her chest. “So, tell me what’s wrong? Why did you run away?”
„No... nothing“, you stuttered, wanting to pass her. „I...I... Already wanted... wanted to go home. So... everything is-“
You couldn’t even pretend that everything was fine. A flaming paw came at you..
„Don't lie to me, little girl. I can Tell from your mana that nothing is alright...“
You both were starring at each other for a while. Mereoleona in a strict and unyielding way. You gave in as you couldn’t handle the shaking of your body. It was not only the fear, but also the icy wind that played its part.
So you told her about your rejection by Fuegoleon. Your problem with your quiet voice and your leak in both; self-confidence and the courage to speak up again. She listened carefully to your story, but couldn't help herself and started to laugh as you told her more details.
„You did what? Asking for a book as an excuse and confess your love for him so quietly that He couldn’t hear you?“
„ Don't laugh at me. It's already embarrassing without you. And it wasn’t exactly an excuse. It was to… “ you didn’t know how to explain yourself. “It was not planned to confess my feelings. All right?“
Mereoleona stopped laughing and put an arm around you in reconciliation. A broad, meaningful grin appeared on her lips. „Feelings for my dorky little brother? That’s sweet. He doesn't even know how to spell love, nor would he notice it if it jumped in his face.“
You swallowed. Felt a lump in your throat and everything inside you tightened at her words.
Your nose began to itch as tears filled your eyes. You tried to suppress those feelings but couldn’t help. The first tear run down your face, over your nose and dripped to the ground.
„Oh... You mean it this seriously...“ Mereoleona started understanding and a soft but bitter sweet smile came to her lips. „Let me help you a little bit”, she whispered, pulling you into a warm embrace and wiping away the tears...
„Since Back then, since her promise to help me and Fuegoleon, nothing really happened. It is that we have become a kind of close friends? And… her brother always seemed to be fine with this development…”
You sighed deeply before you straightening up again from your lumpy pose over the bridge railing and looking up at the starry sky.  “What if… what if he really doesn’t feel anything for me? But… what if Mereoleona is the one having feelings? If she does all this because she has feelings for…?”You paused. The thought you had just grasped for the first time seemed so absurd and stupid that you have to let it sink in first. But after a few seconds you started laughing. „Oh dear, what am I thinking? I am definitely not her type. I am way too weak and shy. Better don’t tell her this. She will get mad with me. After all, she really is a bit of the barbarian everyone thinks she is. But talking about getting mad - I should head home now.”

Got ahold of Step by Step episode 12. We needed 2 more episodes as usual with these series.
If you've not watched the show, please do. It's worth your time, even if you feel like you're wading thru the first few episodes. It's slow burn. This is not horny hours. This is really office hours.
Spoilers under the cut obvs.
Some meta. Mostly my opinions.
I wrote that paragraph before the Mildly Spicy Bed Makeout. I kind of enjoy that Jeng shooed Pat to the shower For Reasons. At least, I personally infer bottom reasons but that's just me. Still, I would have liked more spice à la Bed Friend, but I'm a thirsty ho.
I'll get this admission off my chest — I'm bummed that we got those really spicy kisses and that's as far as it went. KP and Domundi productions spoiled me, obviously. Did I want to see them fake fuck? Yeah. I'll admit it.
The scene where they were writing out then deleting their text messages was acted to perfection.
Hot take — Ben is the worst ugly crier. We love him anyway.
Jeng is a stalker, he needs to learn to go less hard. He also needed to resign like, 2 years earlier from the company. Good for him though. Dad is hot. Shame he's a homophobe.
I am super over people singing in the shows, no matter how good they are.
I love that Jeng's passion is cooking.
You can tell this is a real Thai show because when they show that green curry, it's real green curry even if it's store bought. It's hard to find good green curry paste over here unless you're in certain places.
Jeng's mom — what was the point of a 30 second meeting. Ben is so good at being nervous and young, he's really a great actor.
The chemistry is off the charts in this episode, good Christ. They obviously had fun shooting the cake scene.
Jeng better have a hell of a savings if he's returning all his shares to his dad and putting his hopes on his restaurant.
The restaurant biz is a bitch. I grew up in the restaurant business and the margins are razor thin, even in famous and successful restaurants. Hopefully, Pat's advertising firm is doing well.
Seriously, again. Needed another couple episodes. Especially with how Jeng's dad tossed his resignation letter.
I know Man said this would be his only BL, but I would really like to see them do another show together. They really got their shit together at the end and it's rare to see a couple that can have this kind of chemistry.
The age difference works really well between them, it's comfortable — which isn't there for a lot of decade+ couples — and there's a lot of plots where this could be used. So let's manifest that.
I have no idea what the fuck Man does for a living, so I'm not sure if he's even free to do another series. Dude has an econ degree, which means nothing (no offense econ folks, you guys are like Swiss army knives). I suspect he's a mini Mile Phakphum, and just sort of exists on the largess of his family and his modeling career.
I very much liked this series. It's definitely in my list of favorites. For me, it started out rocky because I didn't understand what it was trying to do. Looking back, now that I see what the aim is, the path it took is perfect.
Would I have liked more sex? Absolutely, but as I mentioned before — I'm a thirsty ho. These lads get paid more than I make as a clinical lab scientist, spending my day making your doctor look smart. A little bed shenanigans isn't too much to ask.
Alas, I can't complain too much. The kisses we got were A+, top-tier compared to nearly any other series. The physical stuff we did get was also A+. Truly, my complaints are mostly unfounded. We could have ended up with Korean level bullshit.
I'm not going to bother with meta about the story because there's users here that are far better at articulating exactly what I want to say, so troll the tag for them.
