Do you think Daemon would’ve been a good King? And if he did become King who do you think is his consort in this AU? I think if he had the power to do so he would’ve annulled his marriage to Rhea Royce. There’s a possibility he would’ve married Mysaria, but I think that would’ve caused problems with the Small Council and could’ve had the same effect as it did in canon. This is probably controversial but his relationship with Rhaenyra was boosted because of their shared hatred of the Hightowers as well as their want for the throne. In this AU he would already have the throne so it posses the question if Rhaenyra would’ve even been a factor to him. I there’s a good possibility he and Laena might’ve worked long term. In canon (book!canon that is) they had a good relationship, and seemed to have a pretty healthy family dynamic. Politically she was already considered a good choice for a King so I can really see that happening. But of course because this is an AU (and I am unashamedly a Dettles shipper) we can always age Nettles up and ALL hell can break loose. Sorry for ranting 😅

Daemon had some issues, I mean how else do you explain Blood & Cheese, but he is not nor has he ever been incompetent.

More than anything I feel like there was a method to his madness. He wasn’t just killing people willy nilly so I disagree with Otto Hightower calling. He was just one of those people where the ends justify the means.

I don’t think he would’ve been Westeros’s best king(certainly not as good as his grandfather and he wouldn’t have been passive like Viserys), but I doubt he would’ve been the second coming of Maegor.

Now in terms of his bride, I agree Rhea would be gone in an instant and it’s doubtful he’d marry Mysaria. He cared about at one point perhaps, but she offered him nothing, and he most certainly never really loved her enough to marry her for nothing.

It shouldn’t be controversial, but with or without the Hightowers the only thing incentivizing Daemon to marry Miss Maegor is the fact that she’s a Targaryen. Just like in canon it wouldn’t be a love match(and Daemon definitely wouldn’t be faithful). Just a want for a Targaryen bride.

Laena makes the perfect traditional wife. She comes from the richest family in the realm. She’s Valyrian, she’s young, but not too young, she’s his cousin. I can imagine house Velaryon still wanting their dues. He’d definitely entertain the possibility(may even due it to spite the other houses).

If Dettles were to happen she would definitely have to be aged up. This marriage would have absolute zero support because of Nettles background(and in book canon her race).

I could imagine Daemon coming up with some story about her being his half-sister and wanting to keep the bloodline pure. Marrying her and daring anyone to say something. Would it make a lot of sense no, but he’s king so those who oppose 💀

The Velaryons would be pacified with here with Daemon agreeing to marry his first born to Laena’s daughter.

Daemon benefits from someone who has a kinder or more sympathetic disposition(Laena and Nettles) to steer him away from more his more disruptive nature.

I didn't get him (and I need to save my keys for Silver's birthday, sob) so I looked up his groovy, and I'm not over how incredibly dramatic and epic and cool it looks in direct contrast to the absolutely ridiculous context. just look at that dynamic action and his majestic sparkling tears and keep in mind that this is pretty much right after a bunch of characters have been dance battling for his soul.

and then even the actual moment of the groovy is just like

So I've been thinking lately about how Mithrun is Kabru's dark mirror (more on that another time- it needs its own post), and I thought it interesting that one of their parallels is that they were both cared for by Milsiril, but in opposite directions. She took Kabru in as her foster after he was orphaned and tried to convince him not to become an adventurer. On the flip side, she helped rehabilitate Mithrun specifically so that he could rejoin the Canaries.

And I kept wondering: why?

For Kabru, obviously she loves him a whole lot- despite any other shortcomings in their relationship, I do believe that.

So I get why she tries to convince him not to go dungeoning, and, failing that, at least prepares him as thoroughly as she can.

But why help Mithrun? She used to hate Mithrun, but after realizing what a secretly twisted person he was, she actually thought of him more positively (oh, Milsiril). So it wasn't as if she held the kind of grudge that might motivate her to make his already-depleted life even more miserable by sending him back to the dungeons. And it wasn't that she felt bad for him either, since she didn't visit Mithrun for the first ~20 years of his recovery.

The Adventurer's Bible says that Utaya was the impetus for Mithrun returning to the Canaries, but Milsiril is the one who made the trip to see him and tell him about it.

Why would Milsiril work so hard to get her old coworker back into fighting fit? Why encourage him to return to such a dangerous lifestyle, when she was the one who chose not to mercy-kill him?

That last panel is such a crazy thing to hint at and then never elaborate on. Without it we could have just thought that Milsiril wanted the Canaries' work to continue without her, even if it seemed out of character. I think some people even assume she's just a natural caretaker as a foster mom and handwave it to include nursing Mithrun too. What could Milsiril's suspicious motives be? What does she gain from Mithrun joining the Canaries that isn't an altruistic desire to see dungeons safely sealed? Feeling a sense of responsibility for the work she left behind isn't an ulterior motive.

My theory is: Milsiril, knowing that Mithrun was empty save for the burning desire to face the demon again, wound him up like a clockwork doll and pointed him back at the dungeons.

Hoping that he'd eliminate the biggest threat to Kabru's life, before it was too late for him.

Little Danny's Big Adventure

New idea.

Okay now hear me out.

-Pulls out AU idea cauldron and tosses stuff into it-

Let's put in some Ghost King/Prince Danny.... But also some deaged to toddlerhood Danny that gets yeeted into the DCverse!

Like imagine, tiny baby Danny with his tiny crown of ice floating above his head and his galaxy cape wrapped around him and uses it like a baby blanket. He didn't mean to fall into a different universe, a natural portal opened up and he was being a curious little thing! He didn't mean to trip and fall in during his nap time.

Nor was he expecting to fall into this realm during a rogue attack and knock out said rogue cause they were being a meanie and harming people and now Danny just wants his nap time cause he spent a lot of his tiny engery and he wants to find a nice spot.

Danny finds a place to crash, snuggling himself into his cape and the astronaut bear Danielle got him during her last visit that he takes everywhere since.

He's out like a light as the door to this safe house that belongs to one of the Bats opens up.

Meanwhile. In the Infinite Realms, Queen Regent Jazz is going into Mama Bear Jazz Mode trying to find her deaged brother, keeping the Realms in check, and is resisting the urge to put CW in time out Soup Time because he's being cyptided again about Danny whereabouts!!! UGH!
