anon my beloved thank you so much for giving me this opportunity because i have ranted about this to multiple people irl but i don’t think i’ve fully lost it on this blog yet. long angry rant under the cut.

TLDR: i hate it

first of all, i can’t talk about what they’ve done to my beloved puzzle doofus without addressing the larger problem that dc movies have as a whole: the “dark and edgy” factor. i’ve done a bit of a rant on this in my tags recently here but that was really just a side point to what i was talking about at that moment. basically, fans want characters to be happy. movie makers continue to not understand that. i’d thought the dceu was moving more towards the actual fun stuff lately- shazam, birds of prey, and the suicide squad were all amazing- but as much as i love robert pattinson and think he’ll do a great job it’s not. it’s not looking good. i don’t want another grimdark movie. i want fun.

when i first heard that ed was gonna be the main villain i was just. very concerned. like. i would love to see him in a movie. i would love my good riddle boy getting to be funny and over the top but i just wasn’t sure if they were going in that direction and just… it’s clear that’s not it. and it’s not even in a direction i could understand?? like i knew in my core they wouldn’t let him be camp, but to jump so far into. whatever the hell that outfit is was just entirely unexpected.

i know comics can change canon characterization around from comic to comic and that combined with various fanon interpretations that how everyone looks at specific characters can be different, so i’d like to quickly take a moment to express my ideal form of the riddler that might just include a lot of projecting:

he’s a guy who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. he’s a guy who wishes he had someone on his level. he just wants attention. he does like batman, he respects him, he thinks that since batman can solve his riddles that maybe he isn’t as lonely as he thinks, but batman still locks him in arkham and as smart as he is he doesn’t understand why. he’s like a child acting out because it’s the only way he knows how to get attention. he’s a gifted kid with burnout. he struggles so much socially that he tries to reject society by focusing on riddles and intelligence but still wants that social attention. he’s a campy theatre kid that loves showing off. he’s a smug little bastard trying his best. he pouts when he doesn’t get what he wants. he’s autistic. he’s gay but nobody wants him. he and oswald are divorced.

i know i likely won’t ever get my ideal riddler, but really just what hurts me the most is there are so many ways to make him edgy and just out of character enough that would still work so much better than whatever this is. make him a snobbish asshole in a clean pressed suit sneering at those below him, make him a rejected loner who wants to prove the world wrong through any means necessary, make him a jigsaw-like character with deadly escape rooms, hell make him an r/iamverysmart “you say you want to improve society and yet you still live in it? checkmate. i am very intelligent.” and it’d still be better than whatever the fuck this is.

and good god the costume. the fucking costume. edward has fucking standards. what the absolute fuck were they thinking? i get if you don’t want him looking like the jim carrey version or the early comics where he had that amazingly terrible skintight bright green spandex, i don’t expect him to wear that, but in almost every other version of the riddler he wears a suit. that’s his thing.

look at the arkham & telltale games versions. look at how good these are. he’s not even wearing a suit in arkham knight, but it still works

yeah they’re not live action, but you know what riddler looked fucking amazing in live action?

i have very mixed feelings about the gotham tv show, especially for someone who never watched it, but just look at his fucking suits. it’s amazing. they’re iconic. they’re beautiful.

I’m seeing comments that Taskmaster was the “worst MCU villain” and that the twist fell flat. I thought it tied well into Natasha’s arc. I can understand TM fans not liking the change, but there are a lot of dumb takes too. Saying that the climax inadequately showed Nat washing her hands clean, or that she had already “gotten over” it before. Even though Nat is so haunted by regret that she later throws herself off a cliff? Why does this movie go straight over some people’s heads?

Well, there's a few reasons why people can have these reactions, and not interpret the film as it was meant to. Some reasons are more innocent than others.

For example, Marvel did push the whole "Taskmaster will appear" message while promoting this film. We know they did this to hook in a very specific crowd. I find their frustration understandable because Taskmaster is a minor character, compared to the Russian family.

I don't understand though what those people's expectations were. This movie isn't called Taskmaster. It's called Black Widow. Natasha is going to be the main character. Even if Taskmaster was closer to the comic book version his role wouldn't have more prominence, or development, in the film. Everyone was saying that this movie was going to be a tribute to Natasha Romanoff, so, what gives?

I found the twist very satisfying. I don't see how that was "Natasha washing her hands clean". Just because the girl survived, doesn't mean that Natasha didn't make the choice to sacrifice her life. If I shoot a person and they survive, I'll still be put to trial as an attempted murderer. Natasha's decision allowed Draykov to turn his own daughter into a mindless tool. All Natasha got, was a moment to look her past action in the eyes, acknowledge the brutality of them, and apologise to another victim. Because they were both victims of the same system.

In regards to how this movie sits in reference to Endgame: It undoes a lot of it. Natasha's emotional state in Endgame would realistically be different if she had gone through the soul-searching adventure of Black Widow beforehand.

Even if her entire Russian family had been dusted she'd just be even more determined to fix the world, she wouldn't despair, and she wouldn't have looked so abandoned. Because the Natasha of Endgame was broken not by the events of Infinity War, but by the resignation of the surviving Avengers- they were the ones who left her alone to shoulder that burden.

Finally, while I rarely acknowledge the scene in Vormir as anything other than moronic and completely unnecessary, I do need to make this point clear:

Natasha didn't sacrificed herself because she thought herself unworthy. Marvel sacrificed Natasha because they thought she deserved it.

Natasha loves her people deeply, and she is just that strong, and that brave, and that heroic, that she could just run towards death without a thought and without a hint of fear. And Cate showed us that in Black Widow, where she made her jump off one crazy spot after another, when she literally jumped into nothing to save Yelena. Of course, Cate is smart and she brought Natasha back to us after each and every crazy jump. Because a character doesn't have to fucking die to prove that they're heroes.

Finally, this movie goes straight over people's heads for a lot of reasons.

For one thing, people are used to the male gaze, and focused on the wrong things. Like whether the human trafficker gets enough of a development to make us feel something when he dies for example. And then when the movie disregards that character like the bastard that he is, and just blows him to smithereens, they're disappointed because they're like "hang on, you just killed him off before I had a chance to bond with the lad!". And to them, that's a flaw.

Another issue is that Marvel movies tend to be very clear about who you're fighting against. It makes it easier when a villain has a face, you know? Even CAWS had enough baddies to make us direct our anger to specific characters (like Rumlow, Pierce, Zola, Sitwell), while the actual enemy was an organisation/system in place.

So when Black Widow comes along, viewers who are used to the system above are confused. Because if Yelena isn't bad, and if the Widows aren't bad, and if Taskmaster isn't bad, who is?

Our patriarchal, sexist society. That's who. The mentality that creates men like Draykov, who think of women as commodities. And how can you possibly show them as villains, when they're literally all around us?

You don't. You focus on the women, and how we deal with that pain. This movie was about people who were damaged by a fucked up system. And the movie itself couldn't offer a solution to fix the system. It could only give us the satisfaction of watching a trafficker get blown up, and the relief of watching those women free themselves from that hell. It showed us that there is hope in surviving. It gave us back what Endgame took away.

Anyway, to chose off this rant, don't be upset anon. I mean, there are people out there who, to this day, think Endgame was one of the best movies of all time. Rotten Tomatoes has it rated at like, 95%. Some people are just interested in the surface of things, and the rest of us just have to accept it. Enjoy our moment of vindication, remind yourself that Natasha's living her best life, hopefully stay away from twitter, and all will be well.

ok not technically about sharon but like does it seem like the team cap vs team Ironman stuff is worse now? Like I remember before it came out and even sometime after the team stuff was just which set of characters you liked more. Not so much the actual issues. And after it came out it seemed like most agreed that the situation was contrived a bit to make these guys fight. Which ...you know makes sense considering the comics its based on had the same problem ( though the comics are worse) 1/2

But now I see alot more salt ( especially at Cap) for the events of Civil War. Like not in like a this was ooc and I hate the direction they went , it was more no this makes sense for Cap and Tony actually, also Tony is right and Caps being a dick. I haven't noticed as much for cap stans @ Tony they don't really talk about CW much. Like was I just unaware of that drama right after CW? Or did people actually get saltier? 2/2

It’s (for lack of a better word) upsetting that this movie gets this much level of discourse over sides. This movie isn’t worth the debate of who was right/wrong.

Straight-up, I was always leaning Team Tony in the comics, and the movie made it stronger, because of how the story treated Wanda, Clint, and Scott. I hate the “I drop my life because Steve told me to” crap every movie writes, when two of those characters have families that they sacrificed for this?? No they wouldn’t the last movies they appeared in established that they wouldn’t?????

Listen, because I’m gonna rant and put it under the read more, but TL;DR: Civil War was already a bad story, and the movie was much worse, because it missed the most important part of the battle: the middle ground.

Civil War needs a strong knowledge of Marvel to go into comic-wise. Everyone is and isn’t a player, and you need to read it all to know where every single person stands, both hero and villain. It’s icon status would not exist if it didn’t have 1) the official public unmasking of Peter, and 2) the immediate death of Steve after. But there are so many other important people tied in that you can try to read the comic, but you won’t know seventy-five percent of the characters without doing research first. It doesn’t help that this is a story with seven official issues and a hundred tie-ins.

Comic Lesson:

The Sokovia Accords? Fuck that. It was the Superhero Registration Act, and this issue was set solely in the US. Why? A group of D-List heroes on a scuzzy reality show started a fight with a group of D-List villains, and one blew himself up right next to an elementary school. Many people died, majority being young children. At a funeral service that Tony attended (don’t think many others did, if any, that were heroes), a grieving mother spat in his face, hence why he backed the SHRA from the start. When it was presented to everyone, Sam said fuck that, and officially, Falcon is the first to vocally go against it. Then Steve did it on a SHIELD aircraft to Maria Hill’s face (she was relatively new when this began). Because Steve and Tony were the most public figures on each side, they were the faces, but they were not the showrunners. SHIELD and Maria Hill ran Team Iron Man with Reed Richard’s tech. Nick Fury from an undisclosed location used his many secret hideouts and funds to run Team Captain America in secret, with Steve and Sam being the ones running as the face of the fight.

Major players include but are not limited to: Hank, the FF (mostly Reed and Sue), Hulkling, Tigra, Daredevil, Goliath (who dies in battle), clone Thor (who kills Goliath), Punisher, etc.

The one thing that was present throughout the whole story was side-switching. Every issue had someone switching sides. It was a major ordeal every time, and everyone had reasons. Peter because SHIELD was shady. Cassie Lang and YA Vision because they wanted safety and Scott had recently died (not because of CW, but Wanda was killing people). Sharon was threatened into staying with SHIELD by Maria but was a liaison to assisting Steve. Half of the heroes in the movie weren’t even in the actual book event. Wanda was in hiding. Clint was looking for her (and then banging her, because comic book Clint gets around). Scott, as mentioned, was dead. T’Challa just got married and didn’t want to be involved. This Vision was a different version using the body of Iron Lad, and his name was Jonas (adult Vision is named Victor Shade). Bucky was running missions for Fury in other countries. I’m still miffed that they got to be involved but the movie didn’t have room to include Fury and Maria, the two people actually in charge in this game.

I’ve read this comic several times. I took a class where we had to read the book, watch the film, and discuss sides. And here’s the conclusion: no matter whose side you take, you can agree with the other side, and you’re actually in the middle ground of it, but if you had to pick, this one was slightly more persuasive. It’s a very complex issue that the story went into. Tony saw unchecked heroes as a risk and didn’t want to have another incident that would cost hundreds of innocent lives. Steve saw government control as the potential unchecked risk and didn’t want heroes to be controlled by a single power. But they saw the other side as right too: Tony tried to stop SHIELD from apprehending Peter when he defected, and Steve realized that their fighting was proving the point of how dangerous heroes could be when civilians physically had to stop him from killing Tony. Because that was the point: they were both right and wrong. Superheroes could be dangerous, but government registration and control could abuse them and manipulate heroes. Didn’t help that the Negative Zone was the fucking worst thing ever, thanks Reed, Tony, and Maria.

The movie took out the middle ground, and moved this into international territory. It wasn’t one country, but 117. It wasn’t a group of unchecked heroes who caused the major conflict, but one specifically. It wasn’t dozens of heroes, but just a dozen. It wasn’t children dying, it was rulers of countries. And it wasn’t one major storyline that the movie was focused on, but several (the Winter Soldiers, Bucky, Zemo). It liked two things about the comic: two groups of heroes fighting, and Steve beating the shit out of Tony. And this story was adapted by a pair of writers and a pair of directors who don’t care about following the canon of other movies, including their own, so they just did whatever the hell they wanted and bastardized a story that was already a mess and a half to begin with. And it took a story that made you think every character’s decision and motive through and decided nah, fuck that. We’re gonna make major decisions, and you have to pick one to agree with, because the other was designed for you to hate them. Civil War was a debate, not a literal war, Russos, thank you very much.

The movie took a shit approach to the question of whether or not heroes need checks and balances, because it wasn’t interested in answering that question, it liked battle scenes because you like the paintball episodes they directed for TV. If you’re in 2020 and wanna still fight about who was right and who was wrong in the movie, the answer is: the movie is wrong, go read the comic. Cap 3 is the worst Marvel adaptation, and a strong contender for worst movie. I could rip this shit apart all day.

Want to f**k with your child’s life? You picked the wrong child.

This is not a hate post. This is about the revenge that we got on these bastards, pure and simple. If you want to go off all high and mighty about how awful <Topic> is since it was in this story, fuck off and do it somewhere else. This is about her revenge, not your opinion.

Anyways, let’s begin.

I’m going to retell the original story from the MC post because I left a lot out there. Sorry if you already read it.

About three years ago, I was in a multi-school academic support network, which had a summer camp. At this camp, I met K.

K was a closeted lesbian, and was very scared of us telling her parents due to their extreme political and narcissistic views. I had dealt with this situation a few times, but not on this extreme of a level. Her parents were so far off the end of the scale, I dared not say anything about politics or religion in fear of starting an inquisition. These people made Westboro look like moderates.

To give an example, they had complete control over her phone, emails, mail, and pretty much every other route of communication. So when they decided one of her friends was “too Jewish” (his last name sounded Jewish to them) they deleted him from her life. They called the program and rearranged her schedule so she would never see him. Later, we found out they filed false, anonymous complaints against him so he wouldn’t be invited back. Overnight, they removed him from her life.

And this was not the last kid they did this with.

K was terrified of her parents, but they owned her. There was no way to escape short of suddenly becoming an adult.

I was seriously worried about her, to the point where I bought her an emergency-only prepaid phone, which I told her to hide. This was, unequivocally, the best decision I’ve ever made.

Fast-forward to January. K is struggling with the stress of everything, and says something innocuous in group chat along the lines of “good thing I don’t have to worry about boys”.

We suddenly stop hearing responses from her. Her cell phone goes offline. The house phone kicks all of our numbers, but not pay phones or other lines. The parents pick up, but say that there’s no one with that name at this address, then hang up. Her classmate says she doesn’t show up for class that day. Alarm bells are going off for everyone.

And then I get the call from K. “Please, come pick me up. I was kicked out. It’s cold.”

I’m the closest, and I had a car, and I was driving in blowing, heavy snow in far below freezing weather. I won’t say that rage and panic fueled me, but I will say it got me there in one piece. I have never, ever, driven a car as recklessly, as hard, or as fast as I did that day.

When I got there she was huddled under a tarp, barefoot, in pajamas, at the foot of her house’s stairs. The parents saw my car and rush out to scream at me for “taking their child from the path of god” and “corrupting her with devil worshipping ideas” or some shit like that. I told them that if she listened to me, it was the first time she had ever done that.

And then the critical sentence (direct quote for once): “she’s not our child anymore! You godless heathen ruined her mind!” And then, “She’s no daughter of ours!”

Now, I’m going to pause this for a moment to preface everything that happens from this point on: this is not a pro-atheist or anti-Christian post. These whack jobs are the furthest thing from human I’ve ever seen. Do not use them as a generalization for <Religious Group> or a bandwagon to sell your ideals. I’m not dealing with that shit here.

K, freezing and scared, hides in my car. The parents start to get aggressive and hostile towards me, so I make two things very clear to them.

I am recording everything they say. I have a camera on my car and my phone, and I have a police officer waiting for me at the foot of the driveway (I called the cops before I arrived due to not feeling safe).

I am leaving and never coming back, as per their request. K will be coming with me, since she is not their daughter, per their screaming rant.

They start arguing with (aka screaming over) me about how she can be ‘cured’ by methods that range from dubious to straight up illegal. By this point, I’m done. I get back in my car while they’re screaming at me and head back down the driveway.

The cop and I have a short chat, and he recommends we be brought to the police station ASAP to prevent the parents from saying I kidnapped her. After a six-hour ER visit for her hypothermia and minor frostbite, escorted by police, we arrive. All of my video and audio recordings are entered into official records, and the officer’s dashcam footage, and K’s ER report are filed away.

I didn’t know it at the time, but all of that would prove to be essential in court later.

I sign her into a hotel in my town, and lawyer up. The lawyer I know specifically deals with cases like hers for free. He is very, very good at it.

There was a lot of legalese, and a long process and a lot of angry exchanges that I really didn’t understand or participate in, but two years later, she was emancipated. I got to be a witness, and that recording and the ER report cinched the case, proving neglect. The parents didn’t even try to argue against it, instead using some weird religious law argument.

K’s older half-brother learned what was happening during the first year and supported her financially while she was in school. He hated the parents far more than either of us did (K feared them more and I was just disgusted by them).

It wasn’t much of a fight. The parents represented themselves, and tried to drop the case on “religious grounds”, which isn’t a thing.

After this, the revenge started. And K did not hold back.

During proceedings, it was discovered that the parents had been using their children’s Social Security cards for loans, credit, bank accounts, and other sketchy stuff. They were already going to jail for that, but K took it to the next level.

Now, these were all the things K told me after the fact. I wasn’t involved in this part, and I didn’t write down all the details that well, but the following is approximately what happened from what I have been told or remember.

So, WARNING; fuzzy details.

One of the things that had been purchased in her name was the father’s truck. K reported it as missing, since she was technically an owner of the truck. They pulled the father over and confiscated the truck as stolen, because his name was not in the title, the wife’s was. When he tried to prove it was his by filling out the bill of sale on the back, he found that the title for the vehicle had been invalidated when K had ordered a new one and donated the vehicle to the fire department for Jaws-of-Life training. That same day.

The mother’s credit cards were the same, but K just cancelled all of them and declared ID theft. This froze some of the mother’s bank accounts, which were under K’s SSN.

The family was already in chaos but K cranked it to 11. Due to the SSN, K was listed as the main contact for the family’s cell phone and internet plans. She cancelled both. She killed the email accounts in her name that she could access and rerouted her mail to her new PO Box, where she may have “accidentally” forgotten to say they should only reroute her mail.

She also called in repossessions on everything that had been bought with her SSN on credit. The loans included renovations on the home, so the parents were forced to sell.

By the time K was done, the parents were happy to go to jail for fraud, identity theft, and their other, numerous crimes rather than live on the street.

All I do know is that they became social pariahs in town before that. Stores banned them for their increasingly violent attempts at converting people. People they knew for years turned on them. The father was fired for failing a performance review, and the mother lost her job selling <Stuff?> due to her increased radicalization.

In the end, K’s siblings went to live with her half-brother since he was the closest living relative. The parents lost all rights to visitation, as the state nullified their parental rights and gave guardianship to the half-brother, mostly due to the criminal charges.

But the real revenge might just be that as the sentencing was carried out, K flipped the parents off in front of the judge and the judge just laughed at the parent’s attempts to claim it was hate speech.

TL;DR: Narcissistic and awful parents attempt to ruin child’s life for being lesbian. Child sends them to jail.

I’ve had enough of the absurd amount of hate for Takumi, and I need to rant it off back his haters. 

As far as I see in the fandom, people who hates Takumi is either 

1: people who are whining about how OP he is in Conquest and Heroes, and 

2: people who hates how he is still a jerk to Corrin and Azura. 

Both are clearly people who doesn’t understand him as a character, and the former are probably doesn’t want to care at all. So instead of explaining his character, I’ll just say  to those childish whiners that, it’s just a game. There is winning and there is losing, as simple as that. You will lose sometimes. Take some time off the game, relax, wash your face, massage your eyes, stretch your body, calm down, and replay the game when you already calmed down. Besides,  with the Hero Merit feature added soon, unless you’re that desperate for feathers, you wouldn’t need to mess with the Arena.  Don’t say people who didn’t whine Takumi is OP is definitely is his fangirl/fanboy. No. There are mature people who is not his fan, also played CQ and Heroes Arena  yet they are not obnoxious people who rubs it on his fans’ face that they hate him. Don’t be an immature and obnoxious person. If you hate something, keep it to yourself. That’s called respect. And before you say I’m a hypocrite, how am I supposed to respect people who didn’t respect others? 

As for people who hates him for the second reason, here is the thing. 

“he’s very kind to people he trusts”. 

“To people he trusts” . 

It goes to this question. “Is Corrin and Azura is someone he can trust?” Someone in his personal circle? The answer is clearly no. 

“He was raised with Azura! Why can’t he trust her?” 

In all fairness, Azura is very secretive , and it’s not like she opened to him, or to anyone in Hoshido either. We all know what have happened in Nohr, that in her support with Arthur she was also a victim of the concubine war, and possibly Arete died telling her everything about Valla, reason why she is traumatized to talk about the truth, or being honest in general. This CD drama (Track 2)  explained it all.

And after that line, he runs sniffling. Hating Azura’s secretiveness. He is asking back. “Why did you expect me to accept you as a family when you didn’t accept us? Why must I tell you what happened-anything it is, but you never tell me what actually happened or what did you actually know? ” Should Azura be a bit open to him or anyone in Hoshido-at least in personal level, not actually talk about Valla, he didn’t expect that of her either- he would opened back.   He perceives her secretiveness as a proof that she didn’t love Hoshido and wants to return to Nohr. He is waiting for Azura to proof her love is in Hoshido, yet she did nothing to try to proof she didn’t want to return to Nohr. So he thinks, “Oh, she is a spy after all!” or “You didn’t love me ! Why must I love you?” which is Azura did nothing to proof those thoughts are wrong. 

And about Takumi’s thoughts to Corrin. Out-universe, we all know why people are all over Corrin-protagonist power crap. But in-universe, Takumi did not understand why everyone are all over Corrin. His parents and older siblings are all over Corrin and he asked in his tiny heart. “Why my family didn’t care about me? Why they only care about Corrin?”  and he thought, if he is more useful, his family would care more to him. We know Sumeragi died for Corrin, so does Mikoto later, Hinoka specifically trained herself to be a warrior to save Corrin, and Ryoma too keep talking about Corrin. So in his eyes, Corrin is someone who have stole Takumi’s family from him. 

What blame Takumi meme? if anything everything is Corrin’s fault. Literally Corrin is the reason why Takumi’s life is a mess, that he was raised without remembering his father and his older siblings neglected him,  Corrin him/herself want it or not. 

And there is Conquest path. He is still giving Corrin chance to return, like his siblings. What sets him different is just he didn’t say it aloud until chapter 23. There he snaps. Why must Corrin must betray his expectation every single chance? And mind you, WHAT is Hoshido didn’t give to Corrin? Hospitality, love, respect, divine weapon, even sacrifices. All they care they give to Corrin, that Takumi himself never received that much, yet Corrin still say no to them. In Takumi’s eyes, Corrin is an ungrateful bastard/bitch who come just to leech of Hoshido. 

He also makes it clear with the line “We could be family” that as genuine his envy and hate is, there is genuine sibling love too. He is hurt that Corrin always betray his expectation every single chance like Azura. And he also hates himself for giving more chances and never stopped loving them. As he hates them, doesn’t mean he never loved them, neither ever he stopped feeling that way. And that unrequited sibling love hurts him. 

As much he didn’t trust neither Azura or Corrin,  there is a speck of sibling love he had for them, that probably Mikoto keep telling him to love them as they are family, but his brain says, let them prove they think they are Hoshidan or not before showing affection. And well, in CQ, they proof they certainly didn’t think that way, and boy does he snaps. in BR and RV he does open up, because Corrin did prove s/he is trustworthy CQ? Lol.  Even in BR he does open up but slowly, but, hey, that is very realistic for him to not trust someone from the opposing country immediately, not to mention, said person is the one who ruined your life. 

This contrasts his immediate trusts to Kiran in Heroes. Just a reminder, Takumi is not insensitive. He can see, that in a world where many Heroes gather, Kiran is not a fighter whatsoever, comes from a world that greatly differs from all the Heroes’. Corrin is the reason his life is a mess and come from the opposing country that killed his father, he have all the reason to be a jerk and suspicious to Corrin. Kiran is someone from a world where it is easier to count people who can actually fight, and doesn’t have own combat capability, thus he have no reason to be a jerk and suspicious of Kiran. Again, in Heroes, this is not protagonist power as Saizo and Jakob shows.

I also sometimes got this line from older fans. 

“Takumi is just a rip-off of Innes, so why do people love him ? “ 

Are you serious for saying that ? Sure, Takumi have a silver hair and is an archer like Innes, but that’s it.  Innes is calm , Takumi is a bomb of emotion that can snap anytime. Yes, Takumi is based off someone from Sacred Stones, but not Innes. I mean, inferiority complex? Went mad from grief from losing parent? Initially was a shy child? Actually wants friends despite on how socially awkward they are? Demonic possession? Different characterization depending of paths? Give up swordplay because of being curbstomped in a friendly match/sparring? Loved and hated the protagonist in the same time? Actually lend a hand to defeat themselves for the protagonist ?  As far I can remember, those are NOT Innes’ trait. Those are Lyon’s . Seriously, if you just compare Takumi to Innes instead of Lyon, you didn’t understand Takumi’s character. Takumi is like Innes only on the outside. Inside, he was more like Lyon. 

Innes is an ass to... literally everyone, not just Ephraim. He is an ass even to HIS OWN FAMILY-he boss his own father around and gives an insult to his own sister, and as Tana herself says “if you can say something like that to your own sister, you have problem”. Takumi? He really loves his family. You see how he sticks with Sakura no matter which route you pick, and even on Kiragi’s paralogue, he;s with her. And for his support with Ryoma and Hinoka... Blame Treehouse. He actually is way cuter in the Japanese version and the localization makes him more whiny than innocent for no reason. 

Again, I am posting this not to say “hey you must like Takumi” but just to explain he is NOT just a cheap tsundere or whatsoever you think of him. Again, if you still don’t like him, please, keep it to yourself.  Don’t be an immature and obnoxious person. If you hate something, keep it to yourself. That’s called respect. And before you say I’m a hypocrite, how am I supposed to respect people who didn’t respect others?
