as a bi person, the bisexual flag brings me infinite joy and always puts a smile on my face, however as a person who has a Passion for Graphic Design, that undersaturated shade of purple infuriates me when it's used digitally
like, on an actual flag - which was its original purpose - it looks great!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
those look fine! lovely, even! with the semi-transparent fabric, the way it catches the sunlight, it looks beautiful!
but now look at how it looks digitally
Tumblr media
the pink and blue are so vibrant compared to the sad, lonely lavender!
and let's look at this statement from Michael Page, the creator of the bi flag:
Tumblr media
(sidenote: he created this flag in 1998, so if his takes on bisexuality is different from yours, it's okay to notice that! a lot has changed since the 90s when it comes to lived experiences and the way we describe them. but, it's also important to respect his thoughts about this and the way he presented them, even if today, we'd probably not say that bi people "blend unnoticeably into both the gay/lesbian and straight communities.")
so in pantone colors, the pink is 226 C, the blue is 286 C, and the purple of the flag is 258 C.
but...here's the deal
Michael talks here about how the key to understanding the symbolism is to know that the purple blends into both the pink and blue. and on a physical flag, I think you can see that!
but digitally, it absolutely does not blend. it clashes badly, and looks oddly separate from the other two colors.
which got me wondering...what purple do you get if you actually blend 226 C and 286 C?
Tumblr media
oh! oh, my god.
Tumblr media
look at that! look at how nicely it fits between those colors!
Tumblr media
look at it next to the original color scheme! look at how much more vibrant the purple is!
and friends. this is just blending through rgb! you get even more purple variations when you use other color spaces!
let's compare all of them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(top: original, lab. middle: lrgb, lch. bottom: rgb, hsl)
look at all of the different purple options you can get just by combining these two colors!
if you want almost too-vibrant saturation, you can go hsl, if you want something more relaxed that's closer to the original, you can go lab or lrgb. and if you want to split the difference, lch is bright and violet, while rgb is there with its saturated but darker purple.
anyway, I guess I don't really have a point here? this isn't so much an informational post as it is Me Getting Weird About Colors, but I think it is a useful lesson about how colors look very different on screens compared to how they look on objects in real life.
and sometimes, I think it's okay to compensate for that.
out of all of these, this is my favorite bi flag:
Tumblr media
it's the one where the colors were blended in lab color space. for me, the lighter, softer purple is close enough to the original bi flag purple, while also feeling like a smoother blend of the blue and pink
but that's just me! and it might not even look the same to you, since every screen is different, because technology is a nightmare!
anyway, thank you for coming with me on this colorful journey! I will now retreat back to inkscape and make pained sounds about inkstitch gradients until something tangible pulls me back into reality

not to overstate things but truly my vilain origin story is the number of people who seem to think that 'what are useful ways to interact with visual art' is not a complex conversation that's lasted for centuries

One of perhaps the silliest things that bothers me to this day about EWAF is that the sandman felt cheap. Like. No proper intro, bland explanation for his name, and like practically all but Doc Oc - a permanent sendoff that means no future reappearances.
C'mon man, give him something fun to work with! Like, how about, if you wanna keep it truly dark in tone, what if he buries people in sand? Or if you wanted less of a set-up for his violence, chloroform or some sort that he'd use to knock out opponents - then his inhuman strength would be a perpetual but rarely used threat that holding your breath would earn you a taste of.

oof. sooo .. lol.... pretty much all of HIWYA is being reworked. like. insane changes. as in "Drehmal as a location is being replaced entirely with Atria" and "the story has no real relation to Minecraft anymore" kind of changes.
I want so badly to be able to make a proper update of sorts to explain what exactly is being rewritten, but so much is still being adjusted and worked on and I also don't quite know how to approach the whole thing when it comes to updating what I have (like the pinned story masterlist post that explains the different Acts, I'll have to think of a different way to title them instead of based on world names). any relation to Minecraft at this point is pretty much just loose inspiration and I'd rather not have the story completely tied to the game anymore, so it's tricky to really figure out how to move forward with that, especially when it comes to organization on here and dA.
tbh it's kind of annoying having such a hyperactive brain, yet simultaneously not enough mental stamina to actually create the things my brain won't shut up about >A< hopefully at some point I can explain everything, though :'0 fingers crossed.

The thing is, we need to be aware of the intended function of things, re: art. Some genre conventions exist solely to express or exaggerate an idea or feeling. Some ways of writing or performing exist primarily for emotional catharsis. Dark or absurdist humor is a way to deal with serious topics without having to put yourself directly in the middle of them. The songs in musicals are meant to be a communication of ideas that are too complicated and emotionally intense to remain contained in spoken word. Things like twelve-tone music/experimental opera are meant to reconceptualize how we think about the structure of Classical music and the aesthetic things we've come to expect from it. Gritty or serious deconstructions are usually meant to make us re-examine literary conventions, either as a thought exercise or to make some sort of statement about the world. It's okay if something doesn't work for you, but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, you all have got to stop acting like something not working for you makes it inherently meaningless or artistically bankrupt or "immature" or "stupid" or "needlessly edgy" or whatever the fuck else people keep trying to claim.

Yall dont understand how much i missed the forest. And i mean a real forest, not the sterilized, neutered monoculture devoid of life and energy that they call forest in central europe.
Since we as humans are part of a larger community of living beings, we can sense the life around us on an intrinsic level. And we can sense its absence. And if you start to notice the life and energy around you, those sterilized environments feel like sensory deprivation, like wearing figurative earplugs.
It really hit home for me just now, how absolutely destroyed central europe is on an ecological level. Every new day, every new place i get to witness, just refirms this understanding. There is a desperate need for rewilding in this region, to allow natural communities to heal and restore diversity and variance and the chaos that is life on this planet.
But first and foremost there is a need to shift cultural values in the region, before any kind of rewilding can happen. A while back there was this viral post about a french couple demanding the culling of wolves after witnessing a wolf hunting in their backyard. What should be a rare and incredible experience, a privilege and a pleasure to see (and an indicator that the natural communities of the alps have the potential to revive) - to them was a nuciance and a threat to their orderly idyllic cottagecore fsntasy world. It's like their whole culture never moved past the middle ages mentality of achieving safety by "taming" the wild places.
And i've genuinely had (frustrating) conversations with forestry and conservation students from central europe who are literally Afraid of natural forests. Theyre "too wild" and chaotic, lacking the order and control theyre accustomed to in all other parts of their country's society, and require intensive management to bring it to submission and be a "propper" forest. In their eyes, the forest is a resource only growing timber and looking like a city park for them to walk through. Anything that makes obtaining wood more difficult or less profitable is a Problem and needs to be fixed. They dont have any pespective on what an actual natural forest looks and feels like, and look at you like youre an alien if you say what they have arent real forests.
It shows that cultural values in this part of the world stand in direct opposition to the principles of rewilding and re-estsblishing harmony with our place the larger biological community.
So before any large scale restoration can be considered, before actual nature can be brought back to central europe, as desperately as it is needed - not just for its own intrinsic value and right to exist, but also for resillience in the face of the climate crisis - there needs to be a cultural shift that will tolerate coexistence with things that live for their own sake rather than direct human benefit, and which cannot and will not be fundamentally changed to their liking.
And therein lies the crux of this ideology: the rejection of anything that is different from them and will not be subjugated. The need to homogenize everything in their own image. And this mindset is the nucleus at the heart of imperialism. Which is why you cannot separate nature conservation from the ongoing legacy of colonialism, even in the imperial core, and why decolonization needs to be the foundation for any kind of restoration effort.
Tldr: There can be no rewilding of central europe until there is decolonization of european mindsets.

I love tiktok edits of videos from fansigns and such because they subtitle everything. Not just what the idols are saying -- though it's more of a "*praises him*" than "wow that was so cool!" kind of subtitles -- but also every single thing they do. So you have a video of a guy talking quietly to another guy, and in case you didn't know what you're looking at, the subtitles helpfully inform you that the guy who's smiling is smiling, or that the guy who's taking his jacket off is taking his jacket off, etc, etc. Fascinating.
#shrimp thoughts#i don't have a tiktok and will never have a tiktok so idk if this is an accessibility thing but I don't think so#because the guys aren't labeled? so if someone's visually impaired a *smiles* isn't going to help them discern WHO is smiling#so it looks more like a cross between a video and this like... i struggle to put my finger on this way of speaking online#*smiles* *hugs you* *covers you with a blankie*#this also made me think of like... forms of fanwork that both explore the possibilities of medium X but also are clearly limited by#the medium Y#for example social media aus by default require everyone to be social media obsessed. the kind of socia media is dependant on what#generator the author has on hand. written fanfiction often makes it just texting/group chat but the same AU on twitter will have#everyone using twitter because it's easier and more efficient. but also it WILL give you a guy who idk wakes up after his surgery and the#first thing he does is open twitter so he can update his real life friends#in an actual fanfic the friends would either already be there OR he'd call them/drop them a quick text#in an actual fanfic the main couple would just have sex and maybe their friends would spot a hickey the next day#BUT in a social media au they have to update their twitter followers (somehow everyone's also followed by hundreds if not thousands of#people) or even post a sneakily taken photo of their partner's naked back. because some authors do write actual prose parts that#detail the couple's first meeting irl (if they met online) or just things that are more difficult to portray over fake twitter screens#but some don't. whether because they can't or because they cna't be arsed I Don't Know but a character who posts on twitter WITH PHOTOS#2 minutes after sex is distinctly different from a character who doesn't do that. so it's like. have fun but also the medium you're using I#inherently impacting who your characters are. and very often they're obnoxious assholes#though i wonder what would it look if one person in a SM au was a twt-obsessed chronically online weirdo and one only used reddit to ask fo#advice about their hobby. hm. it would probably not be a SM au then

withering whenever it's like "can't believe they did this Horror in tv y7 media" type thing When what that means is "made a reference to r rated horror movie" like can't believe an evident approximation of Recognizably Specific character or sequence or whatever is in there. like why not. and why is that in & of itself Impressive like well is the scene actually good / is whatever the Reference is being used for effective even without going "i get that reference." do we expect a kid to get the reference. do we expect it to be that motivating to be like "oh shit here it comes. clapping & cheering for Getting The Reference which is the only reason i showed up" like i fucking guess. that "yes, i too Get The Reference" motivation sure Apparently existing but it's so alien(tm) to me (oh my God this media that's not Teens & Up showed a Xenomorph(tm) (but not (tm) so as to be sued?) how?? &, the vision of this, i guess) like does the thing (oh my god. another generally recognizable horror movie. or movie poster) make sense if you don't go "ah, i know exactly what's being referenced :)", is there any broader Effect even if you do Get It. idgaf about clapping b/c They Said (A) Thing i recognize from other media & can like turn & be like "ah did you recognize this as well? delightful" like help. agonizing even if it Doesn't have any meaning If You Do Not Get It. was horrified myself at some interview doing a billions(tm) style Movie Quotation to expand on what someone said by going "oh it's like that scene in movie where she says quote & does moment that makes a trailer" & i was like yeah i do know that material but why was that Specifically invoked to make a point so generic it's barely relevant to that elaborate interruption....like that obviously i think it can be a lot of fun if someone is like "ah i too know that thing" but only if that leads to relevant in depth shared enjoyment of Some sort of specific element. not like oh hell yeah high five over the most superficial thing, or it being a bummer / Shame if you Don't too know that thing, who give a shit. i've never seen anything ever. but preexisting References / whatever passed around description/invocation of peak recognizable / memorable / relevant element sure reach me such that like oh yeah i Know Of xyz sequence without having ever seen that thing. probably without necessarily realizing b/c it had any function in its source material without knowing "ah, this is a reference. & i know it" & like there's no [wow this is a reference to whatever] that would motivate me in & of itself, i think the peak motivation was this sweet spot of like, i was Barely Online before being fourteen & already liked things as an individual experience so the idea that there were other people Liking & Knowing the same thing seemed a lot more impressive for a time lol. but it would still have to be specific enough, might've been like "ooh a reference to thing??" several times & then been like okay that wasn't that rewarding lol
obviously a matter of Taste like idc it's grating to me but have fun with [a reference??] revelry, i'm not making a specificass blog post to an audience of Four with this drive like "oh how i wish that this was Illegal" just like idgaf about wordplay/pun haters like whee yippee i'm a connoisseur, we're obviously having different experiences, i'm meanwhile also having the experience that i don't give a shit about Getting a reference alone or along with anyone else, regardless of any other effect [that which happens to be a reference] has / is used for. or it's like the Huh, What, of "when i like i song i'll memorize at least part of it probably, i like to sing along, if not Extra liking it & memorizing Most or All of it, perhaps with extra effort" (me) vs other people like huh wha i've never memorized a song in whole, much less on purpose, b/c i liked it. vs even if there's a song i really like (like a source material being referenced that i really like) i'm not gonna respond to Just The Title or effective title like half line from the refrain or anything, unsung. gimme a karaoke moment. idk
#perfect example that wasn't even what made me think of this but Just Today i back recognized a kid's media ''''horror'''' reference#during distinctly a sequence i recognized as a classic ''if you weren't playing this for comedy obv the next route would be horror'' sitch#fop:anw ep one where they're explaining their human bodies aren't Real. went Yeah That's A Comedically Striking Visual#about having a hole punched right through the abdomen & w/like jellybean filling lol. again only today did i see Oh that was a ref then#due to seeing a death becomes her visual due to the musical lol. In Retrospect going oh okay now yeah haha Just Like Cosmo. but like#it doesn't matter lol you didn't have to go ''just like a whole different thing i've already seen'' it was already fun/ny / effective#like yeah when taking in a Background Design i noticed ''ah that's The Shining carpet'' like does not matter. wilhelm scream floor#kinda fun sure but it's like unimportant lol. or i'm certainly not like oh shit oh fuck the thee shining movie carpet inspired carpet yayyy#but i also don't like or respect that movie. i've never seen death becomes her but i probably like or respect it more already#anyway what Did prompt this post was just indeed [can you Believe tv y7 media did recognizable horror character / moment. Amazing] reports#like yeah i can believe it. i wish there was any other appeal there? & how is it amazing or that Bold. you can just do that.#maybe it Is fun if you do but not b/c the fun is strictly that of Recognition As From Something Else You Have Seen like help#it also doesn't help like Crickets re: me liking or respecting much of the Ah True Adult Horror i've seen / know of in any depth#but i also don't enjoy [do you Get It?] references to things in whatever other genres due to Getting It. or things i Do like / respect#just also an extra disappointment like interesting when horror is made For Kids b/c there's an extra relevance to it#[status: kid] being graced with an inherent horror. & you can't like default to ''would [gore] be fucked up or what'' like Sigh; Yes#so when it's like ''ooh reporting this development in horror made for younger audiences: [do you recognize adult horror]'' like cmon#obviously will probably pair with anything at all fileable as horror sequence but like. i don't need Any focus on Reference Time then#like was actually interesting to go back & read a goosebumps book i'd never read the other year re: gtm:pota purposes#did i find it Scary to me; the adult reader? no not really. neither did rereading books i found more intense at like age 9 & all#but that doesn't mean i go ''well i was just Wrong at the time; then'' or like i needed to or did expect the same effect now#i mean i also experience whatever Horror For Adults & at most i can expect [wheee aaaa] moments & the occasional More unsettling ones#but those latter ones are more an invocation/implication of something that's indeed disturbingly unsettling#which don't tend to involve any like Immediately Recognizable Static Visual so much. well anyway

hi i was randomly reading tags late at night on videos, and i saw yours you added onto https:// www dot tumblr dot com/krockat / 726501511214022656 a while back asking for the source of the music and not sure if you ever figured it out so apologies if you did, but its part of the ost from the anime black butler, not a game! but if someone did use it in a game i hope you find it too!
ouffh..... anon........
see... in that post in those very tags you speak of.. . I.. i did promise i would give plenty praise and love to those who would help solve my mystery.....
and you did nothing wrong anon.
you are a beacon of light, a shining example of a person just randomly going out of their way to be a nice little light-shedder-on-er-er, while prev just doing some'n simple n pleasurable (as pleasurable as the mixed crockpot of reading random strangers tags Can be) for themself.
but.. lemme tell you.... this is rough news.
to have a rare glance of something so similar to this great (i mean no, the quality of said game itself might be questionable, but a great soundtrack and alternative Weirdness and nostalgia of a seemingly never discussed old playstation game relic of my memory lossy past - it is despite it all quite great a) mystery -
it was so hopeful and enticing!
and then i learned.. and then i learned.. it was actually from my number one enemy-anime Black Butler!!
you see, black butler and I have history.
apart from it being a creepy show where two adult demons thirst for a child boy (that for some further context also had an unfairly banger ost that deep inspired my youth), it was, infact, and here comes an actual Real trigger warning for the content ahead:
.
.
warning you, here it comes! the tags will have what specific triggers this is about.
.
.
a tool used in grooming me.
so, while i really am grateful for your kind message and explanation - to find that this music that was so similar to what i remember from the soundtrack of the game - was actually from that show? Oh real unfortunate. just realllll unfortunate.
lemme tell ya when i woke up to read i got a notif w the beginning premise that someone had figured out this mystery song - meaning also maybe the coveted mystery game?
even barely awake and conscious as i was, and just really there initially wanting to check what time it was, because my alarm certainly hadn't called yet and the darkness seeping from my curtained window spoke of other promises -
and when then i ofc immediately opened that shit up and was left face to face with the reality of KROCKAT ENEMY-ANIME NUMBER ONE - ?
oh i knew it was gonna be a special kind of day.
so, sorry for no earlier reply but i was put into a certain state of reflection these last couple days.
and it's been interesting, actually
which might sound a tad bit morbid to those inclined,
but well you know us Aquarius Suns(TM) Hahoo - who often find morbid and sad stuff fun and entertaining to think about and toss and turn around like an old sausage in a corporate bodega hot revolver grill. just a lil interest in that
it actually got me to get into a creatory headspace. thinking about all that shit.
so yea pretty good now, but the first hour of gripping w that? yeah. idk how or that i would or could or would want to explain perhaps why or how or in what way that little fact did affect me.
but. you've still done me a great service. and i intend to make good on that reward i did promise whoever would solve my inquiry.
thank you you kind little folk! very very nice of you to come in to my ask and give me answers! you seem like a nice type.
...
but yes a post this long and involved (?) does got to have an end, and one useful trick to end things you don't know how to end is to put music at the end of whatever it is.
now, Best ending would be to have the music of the Actual game's ost i was talking about. but i still don't know what the game is.
Worst ending is probably just that bl*ck b*tler song that baited me (yes i am now "blurring" it out as this is the end part of the post that's meant to end as a reprieve)
and not to say that would necessarily be a bad way to end the post. hells, it might be the interesting (♒🌞) way to conclude this post.
but i think i will just leave you with this.
(sorry that it is a link to spotify. and that it is a from a corporate-y compilation album. and w songs i haven't vetted. i had no choice in what release it was. do you still like me)
(here also comes a youtube link. )

#tw grooming mention#tw csa mention#krockat answers anons#anti black butler#krockat krockar#idk how to tag black butler so ppl can block that tag - but not have fans of it have it in their tags n open myself up to shit from em.#also i rly don't know what my anon tags or asks tags are lol. i don't remember.#also haha to be clear with the astrology joke#- i like to use astrology as a for-fun personality test and sometimes day-to-day vibe advice for my own self. i am fine about it#and no i don't just laugh or schadenfreude at people's whatever else misery - more like that its often a stimulating topic and interests me#to talk w ppl about their shit. and of plenty at/w myself and my imagined blorgbos or whatever.#<writing that cause i know it's the internet and ppl like knife-at-throat-ing ppl when its a sport to assume the worst.#also to be clear - that video visually is just that still image. not of her performing the song. was unsure how or if i should word that in#the image ID. seemed too much.#oh shit now that i have written an image ID after already writing all these tags on mobile - damn it.#image described#also i am tired of this post and having it actually be any good now (which i dont think it is at this point) but idc.#better to just post the beast than not at this point. right#man these tags are too serious overall than what i did w the post. like I said. ♒🌞so to me it's fine to be silly w it#also the song I chose just cause it has a whimsy while also being very vibey and dreamy and jazzy. and there's inherent silly w its namesak#and also more specifically and esp because it's one of the main songs I've been listening to lately. so it's just a glampse into my state#i would explain the lyrics (them being in swedish and all) at a request. otherwise this posts just too long and idc :D#att angöra en brygga#monica zetterlund#my music tastes#long post#also yea i didn't give anon the full promised compliment hoard or wtvr tf I said in those og tags - but i just wasn't feeling it!#you gotta match the vibe of who you're talking to - right. what point is there to just ham it and no one wants to have ham at the table.

crocheting in the dark has made me much more aware of the random shit I do to get proper tension on the yarn and like. I get why machines can't do this shit how the fuck would u program that
#I have various thoughts abt machines and labor most of which are Capitalism is the Problem not necessarily machines but also u gotta#Consider how automation can make things more accessible to certain ppl especially when it comes to creative mediums (ai neutral here) but i#Terms of straight up machine physics and limitations humans will not be replaced by machines- at least not ones that can do what a human#Does as well- within our lifetime. For example my dad worked at McDonald's and remembered having to adjust the cooking time of the burgers#To account for the cooking stuff getting greasy and such. Unless they somehow changed shit up thats probably still the case and when it com#Comes to automation there isn't a really good fix that can match a humans ability to adapt. Like maybe you could program a process to try#And gradually increase the time cooking but that would be difficult and have to consider a lot of factors. Or you could have it scrape the#Grill regularly but that could end up with a lot of time the grill could be used being wasted on unnecessary scrapings or it could happen t#Infrequently. Not to mention glitches that would require the robot to be actually tampered with- the equivalent of which would probably be#Very minor issue of a human made the same mistake. There was also an interesting post I remember abt the topic of automation and like I#Think there was a focus on navigation in machines and visual input as a part of that? Anyways machines are nothing without the humans behin#Them and some people need them. They aren't inherently evil they're just a tool we have to adapt to and use ethically

why you should get off social media if you want to shift.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
before you scroll away, i want to challenge all of you to read all of this. this is one of my longest blog posts ive ever made with over 1,000 words. if you can or can’t make it through the whole post, please let me know how far you’ve gotten in the comments below. you’ll get a surprise at the end 🥳 !
social media isn’t an inherently bad thing. however, outside & inside of the shifting community social media (specially tiktok) has been shown to effect our attention span. this shows in my comment sections on my longer tumblr posts that i also share on tiktok, such as this one, when people say things like “im not reading all of that” or “can someone summarize” also “what method should i use” and “why am i not shifting”.
let’s start with the basics of shifting. shifting attempts need some kind of focus; an affirmation, a visualization, some sort of task like counting. if you’re someone who struggles to focus, you will struggle to learn how to meditate or any hobby or task you’re tying to accomplish. all shifting methods are is a meditation. while no, you don’t need a method, I would make the argument learning how to meditate & focus your attention to what you are trying to manifest is an important part of shifting. if social media creates an instant dopamine reward without little effort, the appeal of shifting seems less. this is why i think a lot of people actually like thinking about shifting & creating content for it rather then doing it — because trying to shift requires some level of work without instant reward even if it’s as simple as laying down & setting intention.
if you try to shift & you wake up in your cr still, that isn’t as exciting when comparing it to the idea of shifting. rather, if you post an edit or a video about your dr you will receive a dopamine hit through video interaction (comments, likes, how social media platforms are set up in general). even maladaptive daydreaming can fall into this category to some. the interest in attempting to shift dies because we feel like we aren’t gaining anything from it when that’s not true. when laying down & attempting to shift, we are meditating & training the brain to focus on what we desire most: we’re correcting our attention span.
social media destroys the ability to focus & what we focus on & give our attention to allows room for that desire to grow, to become reality. if we’re always so overwhelmed with information & have so much to stress about, it’s important to recognize what we consume & how it effects our mood & mental health & how it can sometimes delay our manifestations. im not saying you have to be positive all the time, but we’re exposed to so much that it’s important to check in with yourself every once in a while. this can be where shifting content comes into play vs non shifting content. think demotivation, you don’t look for it, it just appears. & how many times have you opened tiktok to look something up to only be distracted by a completely unrelated video that automatically started playing ?
what i mean is people are telling you what shifting is, what works for them (which you could register subconsciously & believe that’s a step by step guide), rather then self discovery. people are telling you what shifting is, how to do it, what to think, what to script, what method you need to do, even if they say “this may not apply to everyone” because of how it’s being presented & spoken about. the said popularity of a method or definition may also come into play & feeling like something has to be right or work because other people align with it. its like math class, the teacher shows you one way to solve a problem then says “your allowed to use your own methods” & shows you one example of it then goes back to using the original method in class that you don’t understand.
another reason is opinions. when being shown so many people speaking on shifting & their thoughts it can be overwhelming. it’s a great thing so many people are willing to talk about their experiences in their desired reality or want to share their personal breakthroughs & opinions on what shifting is, it can be confusing. while everything i just listed is well intended, leaning about shifting through places like tiktok & not venturing out & doing your own research — or just searching methods online & trying it yourself while going in blind — it takes away self discovery.
so, how do we learn about shifting ?
when i say get off of social media, i don’t exactly mean all social media. yes, all of these things happen across the internet but the difference with tiktok is that the fyp isn’t so prominent. this of course also applies to other feeds that are generated, but a lot of the shifting community is ok tiktok so im using the most known example. it’s important to search & decide what information you consume & seek out rather then being told something without stopping to think for yourself. you want the chance to be able to create your own thoughts. your own unique thoughts you have about things make them personal & your own beliefs become stronger when you realize things on your own. it’s more satisfying that way.
places like reddit & searching for questions you specifically have so you don’t have ten more questions shoved in your that you didn’t have before that cause you added worry or unnecessary fear is helpful to keep in mind.
there is room for grey area. not everything needs to be black & white. there should be no consciousness vs multiverse theories because two things can both be true at once. Ike thing doesn’t have to be against something, you don’t have time pick a side. it’s all theory & hypothetical. it’s okay that we 100% don’t know (& will probably never know) what shifting truly is. not everything needs to be discovered to preform it “correctly”. you don’t need to be a master at painting to paint, you don’t need to know how paint brushes are crafted or how canvas is stretched to preform, anyone can sit & learn as they create their first & second & tenth piece. even people who have painted & sold their artwork for millions, don’t know the great’s techniques. they know pieces of them & take what works & discards what doesn’t serve them.
this post isnt to negate any of the good social media has done or sound like my mom & preaching about how social media destroys your brain…but i think we should be mindful of what we consume & how it makes us feel & if we’re speaking for ourselves or parroting others words. there are so many great people & advice out there & im not trying to take away from that. i just think taking a moment to stop & digest what we’re seeing is healthy. this blog post has been a long time coming but i know a lot of people wouldn’t want to hear it. i can promise you, you are more addicted then you think — myself included. i just don’t wake you guys to look back in 10 years & have spent more then half of that looking at a screen when there’s so much life to be lived. i don’t want social media to take away from what we are all here for which when we come down to it is living. shifting is literally wanting to experience life & i can’t help but find it ironic that this is the opposite of everything we wish to accomplish through this practice.
please take care of yourselves. much love.
surprise :) congrats you made it ! here’s your digital slice of cake ! 🍰
