Watching some danger force today and kept thinking about this:

Specifically the season 1 episode "Chapa's crush" because they outright say Ray has feelings for Henry??? Like, there is no other interpretation. It's very much stated that Ray has a crush on Henry, or at the very least, finds him attractive.

Incase you haven't watched it, a short recap: The crew is fighting your typical bad guy, and Chapa is the only one able to fight since the others are incapacitated. Except she doesn't, and just kind of dreamily states off into space. The crew later discuss it and come to the conclusion that she 'likes-likes' someone (Stated IN the show by the characters). When Chapa sees the dude she goes jaw slack and this love song plays. When the other 3 members eventually see him, what do they do? They go jaw slack, drool, and the same song plays. One could argue that just because the writers found it to be a funny gag, and that they have no feelings for him, but then each character shows attraction to the dude!! Again, no other interpretation, they clearly say they find him attractive and fight over who gets him. This comes to ahead when they find out he left Swellview to live with his girlfriend to which they become very disappointed hearing about her. This is not something you'd do if you had platonic feelings for someone, pointing again towards romantic feelings. How does this play into Henray? At the end of the episode Henry shows up and what does Ray do? He goes jaw slack, drools, and the same damn love song plays. THE EXACT SAME THING THAT THE OTHERS DID WHEN THEY GOT A CRUSH. And the lyrics that play during it?? "I LIKE YOU I LIKE YOU YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME" what if I just perished.

Like... how could you watch this episode and not pick up on what the writers are saying?? Even if they didn't intend it, that is still very much what is being implied. Though I find it very hard to believe they didn't purposely write it like this. Because how do you use those kind of lyrics and NOT realize what is being implied?

There are so many more moments I could bring up from DF but I just wanted to get this one out of my system. Anyways, Henray is canon and I love them 💯

so! all of this was already done by the time i posted the enemies. the delay isn’t *entirely* because of the tablet issues, i just managed to get distracted by making: even more redraws! i’d say new update soon but after what happened last time i shouldn’t jinx myself. but! almost All of the art for the initial mod release is done!!!! exciting!!!!!!

hey did you know that the original teleport map is slightly off center. did you know that. that’s not the case for the redraw for the record but it did make things a little harder. despite that, i think you can tell i was having fun with the dormont part of the map. i would’ve put more detail into the house, but we never really get a more detailed look at it??? and i didn’t want to make assumptions. so that part’s just traced from the original 👍. anyways shoutout to the clocktower being Curved for whatever reason

outside of those, all of the added art is actually just spritework. i didn’t know this at first, but there’s a TON of copies of sprites from the icon set. Basically Everywhere. so those are added now! and should work properly! also added a few sprites that were Missing from my original batch. not going to put them all here, but a few Important ones (which i actually had to make new art for) are the rock paper scissors cheatsheet, the Larger versions of the craft signs (used in the calamité fight and. probably somewhere else idk), and the craft signs for the tutorial kid fight!

aaaand i think that’s it! for stuff from this update. yeah no there’s more coming buddy. my tablet already broke one time this week there’s no way it’s happening twice. i’m not working on portraits Just Yet (though the temptation has been There), but i’ve got the title screens, a few backgrounds, and the ending cgs done! along with a few other assorted cgs sketched out. because im out of my fucking mind. so, uh, see you soon!! enjoy!!

it pmo so badly when some people are like "awww but ambessa was proud of her in her last moments 🥹" without thinking any further abt it cuz like... mel has spent the entire series, has spent her entire life struggling to be different from ambessa. trying to escape from the ways of her mother and the ways of noxus. we can see how deeply traumatized she is by her upbringing, the moment we see a flashback of in s1 especially. her arc in the first season literally concludes with her taking off the symbol of the the medarda family and explicitly contradicting her mother' wishes. mel does not WANT to be what her mother wants her to be.

and in the end the very last thing her mother says to her is that mel's become EXACTLY what she wanted her to become. it's such a deeply tragic moment because, in killing ambessa, while theoretically speaking freeing herself of her mother's expectations, mel has fulfilled them in their entirety. mel has become the wolf.

i said this in the tags of another post but. the way that the desert always seems to PHYSICALLY pop up whenever scar and grian are together is insane. first them finding the only tiny patch of desert in double life, and now a desert appearing in front of them right as they're laughing together and riding on a llama camel. like we all know this but MAN. they seriously never left the desert. it's become a symbol of their past together, and they can't escape it.

The problem with a lot of traffic life interpretations in my opinion is they don't understand character foils or don't employ them in their writing. Grian-Martyn and Scar-Ren are genuinely pretty good character foils for a series that is not really scripted or planned out like a book is. I could go on and on about how they parallel each other and the similarities between them. Even the smaller details between the four usually match up

this is one I actually have to put a little brain power into bc I actually haven’t thought super hard about this

- I think kremy and Gideon never verbally apologize to each other after a fight, both of them are way too prideful and awkward for that. Kremy I think would take it like a mom who cuts up fruit for you instead of apologizing. He doesn’t explicitly acknowledge that anything happened or is wrong but Gideon will be moping in the corner and kremy will be like “I made dinner, are you gonna come eat with me or what?” and instantly all is resolved. On Gideon’s part, I think it’s a combo of big sad puppy eyes and acts of service, just constantly going out of his way to do things for kremy to try to make up for it. I think gid does that a lot just anyways but he goes especially hard on it when he’s trying to apologize after a fight

- also coalecroux focused, these guys are so weird about physical affection. it’s either they are extremely awkward and strange about it or they are literally inside each others skin, no in between. Like I think with these two having been together for as long as they have, they have very naturally gotten super used to constantly hanging on to each other and having their arms wrapped around each other like second nature, neither of them even really realize they do it, but the SECOND anyone comments on it or causes them to think about it for even a second, they are instantly ten feet apart from each other and all awkward and sputtery about it. freaks, I hate them (affectionate)

- Frost is the kind of person who will appear to be completely doing his own thing and not paying attention at all when other people are talking but he is actually extremely engaged in the conversation, he just doesn’t feel the need to hold eye contact or stop doing what he’s doing (which is probably like reading a book or something similar which would appear to hold all his attention). Gricko is the most used to this and entirely unfazed by it but it takes most others a little while to understand it

- Gideon and Twig scheme about pranks to pull on frost together. Either that or just ganging up to make fun of him (affectionate) in general

- Twig tries to help show torbek how to clean and take care of his fur a little more. He’s not particularly good at it on his own but he’s trying and he appreciates it immensely

- frost. Kitty tendencies. he tries like really really hard not to show most of his cat qualities very often bc he does not want to draw attention to them but he has found himself making biscuits around people without realizing more than once

- Hootsie with each of the different krew members I think are all very fun dynamics. Frost is father #2 to her and will usually be the one taking care of her if gricko cannot as he is generally the most responsible and capable when it comes to taking care of her, though he will definitely sneak her more rat snacks than she’s supposed to have. Kremy is like the rich gay aunt who will absolutely spoil her rotten if given the opportunity. He never means to but he can never resist doing so. He will go full Karen mode to give her the world. I imagine hootsie in Gideon’s care like one of those movies where the plot revolves around a babysitter and the kid their watching going on a big wacky adventure and needing to get home before the parents do, and no matter zany the hijinks, they will always get back home and act like absolutely nothing happened when the parents do get home. He is one of hootsie’s favorite to play and cuddle with but he should probably not be solely responsible for her for extended periods of time. Torbek and hootsie are like bffs and also are great cuddle buddies but similarly he should never be left solely responsible for her it would not go well.

Incredibly rough/quick notes I took while putting this together, mostly in terms of timeline and mental state. I didn't bother for Pretty Hate Machine or Downward Spiral because they're way more straightforward to me, either taking place pre-show or skipping ahead a bit to correspond with seasons 5-9

Pretty Hate Machine (and Broken) sets the stage, with Dennis coming to terms with his trauma, and realizing that sex and drugs are going to be his coping strategies of choice after Klinsky's abuse also Sin and The Only Time are him sucking and fucking dudes this whole album is certified faggotry. Downward Spiral is in large part the DENNIS system and torturing women. Throwing himself headlong into automation until he runs almost completely on autopilot, becomes emotionless, hates the monster he's become, always trying to seize control through sex. Jealousy of the women that he fucks, both for what he perceives as an inherent power they hold over him thank you barbara and klinsky, but also because this is where Victoria first appears in the form of what Dennis perceives as his own sexual deviance.
