Roleplay Is Not Dead Nor Doth It Sleep
There's a post going around about how text-based, freeform roleplay is dead, and I was typing up a huge response to this, with an accompanying guide on how to find roleplayer in 2024, when I realized it might have a bigger reach if I made it its own post. So here's that guide.
I hesitate to say that there isn't a problem with the new format of social media making roleplay more difficult to find, but in the desire to make that point, the OP of the original post has left people with the idea that there's no way for them to get into freeform text roleplay in 2024. Which just isn't true! Here, look at all the ways.
Forums
The link to RPG-Directory to find roleplaying forums is a good start. Once you've found a forum RPG, even if you don't join, there's usually an 'advertising' section on that forum where other forum RPGs post their ads - this may help you to find forums that don't advertise on RPG-D.
Another really good forum to find roleplay on is Barbermonger. Barbermonger is focused on connecting people for one-on-one roleplays.
This last one's going to be weird, but it turns out that there are still people seeking roleplay on the Gaia Online forums after all these years. I think this is delightfully retro and then crowd there seems a little older than average. No pre-existing knowledge of Gaia required.
Tumblr
You can also find forum roleplay groups (as well as tumblr and Discord groups) right here on Tumblr. Usually, the thing to do is to use the search function - search for "[genre] rp" or "[fandom] rp" and sort by "latest." (If you sort by Top, you are likely to find dead RPs.) For example, here's fantasy rp, historical rp, and marvel rp. You can also try jcink rp, as most roleplay forums are hosted on Jcink these days, or discord rp, depending on your favored platform.
There are also tumblr blogs specifically dedicated to advertising roleplays. I'm not super familiar with these nowadays, but just in the process of searching those tags above, I found these:
Jcink Tinder
RPG Adverts
RPings
There are more, I just don't know them off the top of my head.
Reddit
Listen, don't run away, I swear it's good now - I swear Reddit is good now -
Reddit is a good place to find Discord roleplays. It's a little heavier on smut-only roleplays than other platforms mentioned here, but it's not impossible to find sexless, plot-based roleplay here either. Most ads are for one on one RP, but you can find groups mixed in here too. The big subreddits for text-based freeform RP seem to be:
r/DiscordRP
r/RoleplayPartnerSearch
r/roleplaying
r/Roleplay
Some of these have weird rules about what you can put in your ad, and I don't remember which ones, so read carefully and don't get discouraged if your ad is initially removed.
Discord
In 2024, Discord is by far the biggest and most popular platform for roleplay, and it has its own native roleplay advertising hubs. Here are a bunch:
roleplay partner hub
Rockin Roleplay
The Roleplay Garden
roleplay help
the roleplay connection
RP Central
Roleplay Central
Roleplay Hub
Barbermonger also has a Discord server
Roleplay Meets: Reborn
RP Hub
The Scribes Guild
DM Rp Village
cherry blossom! roleplay hub
DM-RP
Roleplay Round Table (21+)
The Historical Syndicate (specifically for historical roleplay)
The Roleplayer's Directory
If you can't find the Discord roleplay you want on here, you can also try Discord hub websites, like Disboard. These work similar to tumblr tags - search for [genre] rp or [fandom] rp.
Other
The original post specifically mentions that 'all the old "omegle but for role play" type websites died out ages ago'. This is mostly true, but not quite! There's still Rolechat. It's a little janky, but what it needs more than anything is a bigger user base. Their Discord server is also a good place to find one on one discord roleplay. It is, of course, free, but if you want to support its development, they have a patreon.
Please reblog this post, and add your own tips on how to find roleplay!

can you write some tips on writing amnesia for a character? <3
Note: thank you for your ask! I'm sorry for replying so late I took a break from Tumblr for a bit.
In this guide, I'll be covering a balance of information on amnesia and how to write it. Some topics I mention are the types of amnesia, how they impact characterization, and how to write a believable portrayal of memory loss. I hope this blog is to your liking anon.
Understanding Amnesia: Types & Realism
Amnesia is not a one-size-fits-all condition. There are many different types of amnesia and each has unique effects on a person’s ability to recall past events or form new memories. You should research the type of amnesia you're going to use in-depth before incorporating it into your writing, but here's a quick breakdown of the types:
Retrograde Amnesia – The inability to remember past events while still being able to form new memories. This is common after traumatic brain injuries.
Anterograde Amnesia – The inability to create new memories while retaining past ones. A well-known example is the film Memento, where the protagonist loses the ability to form new long-term memories.
Dissociative Amnesia – Memory loss resulting from psychological trauma rather than physical injury. In extreme cases, this can lead to fugue states, where a person travels or assumes a new identity with no memory of their past.
Selective Amnesia – The loss of specific memories, often linked to a traumatic event.
Transient Global Amnesia (TGA) – A rare, temporary condition where a person suddenly loses memory for a few hours or days before recovering.
Many fictional portrayals of amnesia tend to exaggerate its effects or resolve it in unrealistic ways. In real life, memory loss is rarely total, and individuals often retain habits, motor skills, and emotional reactions even if they don’t recall specific events.
Choosing the Right Type for Your Story
Amnesia can be used in various genres, from psychological thrillers to fantasy epics. It's often a plot device or opportunity for character development, so it's important you pick the right type of amnesia.
A thriller or mystery might use amnesia as a tool to conceal crucial information, allowing the protagonist to uncover the truth alongside the reader, in which case Selective Amnesia might be a good fit. A romance could explore the emotional toll of memory loss on relationships, where one partner remembers everything while the other has Retrograde Amnesia and forgets them.
If your story revolves around identity and self-discovery, dissociative amnesia or retrograde amnesia may serve the plot best. If you want to create suspense by limiting what the character can learn over time, anterograde amnesia can add significant tension.
Take some time to consider why your character needs to have amneisa, what you plan on achieving with it, and whether or not you want them to recall what they've forgotten.
Characterization & Emotional Impact
Amnesia isn’t just about forgetting—it fundamentally changes how a character interacts with the world. A character suffering from memory loss might experience:
Fear and paranoia – Who can they trust if they don’t even trust their own mind?
Grief and loss – The realization that they’ve forgotten people or parts of themselves can be devastating.
Frustration and helplessness – Simple tasks may feel overwhelming, and social interactions may be fraught with confusion.
A shift in personality – Without their past experiences shaping them, they might react to situations in unfamiliar ways.
Relationships also play a crucial role. Loved ones may struggle to reconnect, while old enemies may take advantage of gaps in memory. This emotional complexity adds depth to an amnesia storyline, making it more than just a convenient plot device.
Medical Insights on Amnesia
To write a realistic portrayal of amnesia, it’s essential to understand its medical and neurological foundations. Memory formation involves various brain structures, particularly the hippocampus, which plays a key role in storing long-term memories.
Causes of Amnesia
Head trauma (e.g., concussions, strokes, aneurysms)
Psychological trauma (dissociation due to extreme stress or PTSD)
Infections affecting the brain (e.g., encephalitis, meningitis)
Substance abuse (alcohol-induced blackouts, drug-related memory loss)
Neurological disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, brain tumors)
Memory Recovery & Treatment
While some cases of amnesia are reversible, others can cause permanent memory loss. Treatments often include:
Cognitive therapy to help the brain form new associations.
Medication for cases linked to neurological disorders.
Hypnosis or psychotherapy for trauma-induced memory loss.
Fiction often portrays amnesia as something that can be instantly cured by another head injury or a dramatic emotional revelation, but in reality, recovery is often slow and uncertain.
Writing Realistic Amnesia Symptoms
When crafting an amnesiac character, it’s crucial to depict their symptoms accurately. Some of the most common effects include:
Confusion and disorientation, particularly in familiar settings.
Difficulty recognizing close friends and family members.
Emotional reactions to people or places they don’t consciously remember.
Trouble forming new memories (in cases of anterograde amnesia).
Physical symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, or fatigue.
By integrating these symptoms into your character’s behavior, you create a more immersive and believable narrative.
Unraveling Memories
Memory recovery should feel natural rather than forced. Instead of a sudden, convenient realization, consider gradual memory restoration through:
Sensory triggers (smells, sounds, touch that evoke forgotten memories)
Therapeutic methods (therapy sessions, hypnosis, journaling)
Unreliable memories (false memories, altered recollections)
Emotional breakthroughs (re-experiencing an intense emotion tied to a memory)
It’s also worth deciding whether your character will ever fully regain their memories. Some narratives work better when the character must move forward without ever reclaiming their past self.
Common Pitfalls & How to Avoid Them
While amnesia can be a powerful narrative tool, it’s easy to fall into unrealistic portrayals. Here’s what to avoid:
Instant cures – Memory loss doesn’t resolve itself with a single emotional moment or another head injury.
Overly selective memory gaps – Forgetting only plot-relevant details makes amnesia feel contrived.
Ignoring emotional consequences – Memory loss isn’t just about lost facts; it’s about lost identity and relationships.
Lack of research – A poorly researched amnesia storyline can feel lazy and inauthentic.
By steering clear of these clichés, you can create a well-rounded and compelling narrative.

Hey!!! You commented on my post about limetown haha which is why I’m here. You offered to give podcast recs! What are your favorites?? I’m looking for some new ones
I completely forgot I had this ask, excuse the delay. Here's a selection of 30 podcasts I enjoyed from a broad range of genres: hopefully at least one appeals.
Let me know if you're after something more specific.
Arden: (Investigative, Comedy) On the 25th of December, 2007, heiress and young actress Julie Capsom crashed her car into a tree and fled into a nearby forest clearing, leaving a trail that seemingly vanished into thin air, and a dismembered torso in the trunk. A decade later, Bea, the first reporter on the scene, and Brenda, a detective on the case, are hosting a true crime podcast about it, and neither is remotely impressed with what the other has to say. Arden is also a retelling of various Shakespeare plays.
Desperado: (Supernatural, Adventure, Horror Elements) In a modern world of gods and magic, three young people, all under the patronage of death dieties, embark on the same adventure for different reasons: for safety, for revenge, and to kill The Old Man in the Sky. Fantastic banter and killer action sequences.
The Far Meridian: (Magical Realism) An agoraphobic young woman wakes one day to discover her lighthouse home has travelled to somewhere entirely unfamilar. As this continues to happen day after day, she uses the opportunity to search for her missing brother. A really unique and charming piece of fiction.
Gastronaut: (Sci-Fi) Interstellar travel audio blog of a former food critic as he travels to an active warzone to get firsthand experience with unfamilar cuisine. ft. Disgruntled martian nobility, sinister businessmen, explosive mushrooms, forbidden snacks, rogue revolutionary artists, and the consequences of your actions.
Girl in Space: (Sci-Fi) The Girl In Space lives alone on a space station, doing science, making cheese, rewatching Jurassic Park, and tending to the plants, animals, and artificial sun entrusted to her. It's a little lonely, but not a bad life. Would be a shame if someone came along to ruin it.
The Goblet Wire: (Microfiction, Weird Fiction) A surreal microfiction with horror elements, taking the form of phone calls to an audio-based game in which the voice of the mysterious Dictator leads each player through fantastic and horrific world and story.
Hello From The Hallowoods: (Horror, Supernatural) A dramatic entity beyond your comprehension visits your nightmares to tell stories of the people (in varying degrees of human and alive) that inhabit the strange, deadly, and beautiful Hallowoods, as they find meaning and sometimes eachother.
Hi Nay: (Supernatural Horror) A year after moving to Toronto, sound designer Mari finds herself drawn into helping people around the city with various horrific supernatural encounters due to her babaylan (shaman) family background. It quickly becomes apparent that there's something much more sinister and complicated happening in the background.
Inco: (Microfiction, Sci-Fi) A perpetually exausted interstellar information trader and her peppy AI find a mysterious (read: bratty) boy floating in space and are inadventently pulled into a world political intrigue.
Inn Between: (Fantasy) Ever curious about what the D&D characters get up to at the tavern between sessions? A generally lighter-hearted (with some exceptions) with richly-written and always-growing characters. A really interesting format, too: a lot of the adventure appears in the "next time" and "last time" segments which makes it all flow really nicely. Not a tabletop podcast.
Janus Descending: (Sci-Fi, Horror, Tragedy) A xenoarcheologist and a xenopaleontologist are sent to a study a dead city on a distant world. Nobody likes what they find there. A unique format, with one set of logs presented first to last, and the other last to first. I'd recommend listening to the supercut for this one.
The Kingmaker Histories: (Steampunk, Weird Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy Elements) In the Valorian Socialist Republic 1911, on her 25th birthday, tailor's apprentice Colette experienced the worst headache of her life. As a result, she fleed from town with a human artificer and a fae chef - both now smugglers - pursued by an utterly furious flesh-crafter. I'm not sure I'm selling how good this podcast is but it's very good.
Life With Althaar: (Sci-Fi, Comedy) A human repairman moves to a space station on the edge of human territory that is perpetually on the edge of self-destruction, and ends up with a less-than-ideal last-minute roomate. Althaar is polite, friendly, deeply interested in human culture, and eager to be friends. Unfortunately he belongs to a species that sends humans into a visceral panic at a glance.
Lost Terminal: (Sci-Fi, Hopepunk) Seth is a very lonely AI living on a satellite. His crew were left stranded aboard with no hope of return, and it's been longer than he can count since then. The Earth below him has changed dramatically, and with only a few other AI down there to talk to, he's very lonely. But! He has a plan to make some new friends.
Love and Luck: (Romance, Slice-of-Life and Urban Fantasy Elements) Voice messages cataloguing two young men falling in love and opening a queer dry bar together.
Midnight Radio: (Light Supernatural, Romance) Sybil McIntyre, host of the ever-popular 1950's nightly radio hour, begins exchanging letters with an old fan who has reluctantly returned to visit Sybil's beloved town.
Midst: (Weird Fiction, Western, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Elements) The old-western planetoid islet of Midst floats, rotating steadily, in a sea of reality-warping darkness. Down in the town of Stationary Hill, things are in movement, and vistors from the light above are about to bring unanticipated change. ft a monocycle-riding monster-hunter, radio-famous airship paladins, deadly mica, the universe's peppiest cultist, good dogs, and a really strange businessman.
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Urban Fantasy and Horror Elements) A friendly AI tour guide leads you on a tour of the Mistholme Museum, explaining the strange and often alternatural story behind each item.
Monstrous Agonies: (Supernatural, Relationship Advice) An interpersonal advice show for supernatural entities and other people living liminally in the modern world.
Night Shift: (Urban Fantasy, Investigative) Set in a modern world with the addition of magic, which manifests in small inherited skills/traits, can warp people in horrific ways, or can be manipulated with the right science (and intense work) to induce superpowers. Sebastian Fenn is a barista at Night Shift Coffee, but since things are slow he's decided to start a podcast to talk about various mysteries, crimes and conspiracies around the city, and of course finds himself deeper in them than he'd intended.
The Pasithea Powder: (Sci-Fi, Thriller Elements? I think?) The last major interplanetary war was full of atrocities, but none more infamous then the creation of Pasithea Powder, a memory altering drug which was used to horrible effect and landed it's entire team of creators in prison. So when decorated war hero Captain Sophie Green sees one of them wandering free, worlds away from his prison, she gets in touch with a very old, estranged friend: one Dr. Jane Gonzalez, who's behind bars for the very same reason.
SCP: Find Us Alive: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Horror and Slice-of-Life elements) You don't need to know anything about SCP to enjoy this. A research team gets trapped in an underground research facility when the complex collapses and the building is dragged into a pocket dimension. The tear it was designed to study begins creating tiny copies of itself, generating strange entities the team needs to deal with. And as if that wasn't enough, the entire situation physically resets itself every 30 days. And yet, this is genuinely also an office comedy.
Second Star to the Left: (Sci-Fi) Audio logs of a scout sent to explore and establish early infastructure new world, and the communications with the minder in charge of keeping her alive.
Seen and Not Heard: (Slice-of-Life, Drama) Seen and Not Heard follows Bet, who's still adjusting to life a year after a bout of severe illness, and the resulting hearing loss it caused. It's about the ways we make connection, and food, and art, and different kinds of grief.
The Silt Verses: (Horror) In a modern world where gods are abundant, frequently both commercialised and restricted, two devotees of an outlawed river god go on a pilgrimage.
SINKHOLE: (Sci-Fi, Weird Fiction) Forum posts from a data restoration community in a near future where the human brain is its own computer and one city hosts a massive void.
Starfall: (Fantasy) Seeking to escape her mysterious past and find some purpose, a young swordswoman joins a travelling actor's troupe. This new life is unfamilar and sometimes stressful, but she's taken under the wing of stagehand Fel, who's determined to help her feel welcome as she experiences the figurative and literal magic of the theatre for the first time.
The Tower: (Weird Fiction) A low-key, meditative podcasy about a young woman who decides to climb a seemingly endless tower. Gorgeous sound design.
The Vesta Clinic: (Sci-Fi) New GP Dr. Fae Underwood, with the expert transcription skills of resident AI Sec, writes up patient reports on human and alien patients of The Vesta Clinic, a medical clinic on the edge of human space. Really comfy and creative.
Victoriocity: (Steampunk, Mystery) Set in the steam-powered Victorian city of Even Greater London, an aspiring journalist and a tired detective find themselves working together to solve a strange murder. I say Victorian but as queen Victoria is now an extensive grandiocity of cyborg components following seven only-kind-of-successful assassinations, you may need to adjust expectations a little.

how to post songs as mp3 files and avoid copyright
a bunch of people were asking how to post music on tumblr so here's some kind of tutorial n_n there's probably a thousand better ways to do it out there but this is what i do and it works for me
Step 1: Acquiring music
Before you post any music you gotta have it as an mp3 file. Bunch of people mentioned mp3 converters but my favorite way has always been to just download discographies from blogs. You google "(band) complete discography free download" or something like that and something's bound to show up. If you've doing this for a while you'll skip this first part and go straight to the places you know will have it- here's some of my favorite blogspots for it - but they're all very specific to the stuff i listen to (mainly punk and latin american rock).
These type of sites tend to be genre-specific so if you're looking for, say, a prog rock band, maybe you'll have more luck searching for prog rock downloads websites. The older or more obscure the band, the easier it will be to find. And you'll find that a lot of these sites are not in english- you have to get comfortable visiting and downloading from sites in spanish, portuguese, russian or what have you and your life will get easier.
Don't limit yourself to blogs or music download-specific sites. Some people post album dl links on youtube. When i was in high school i downloaded The Black Parade from DeviantArt. The internet is far and wide and you can find stuff anywhere
But what if i can't find an album like this?
Alternative 1: Legally
Go find a record store and buy the album you want. You can also check the artist's bandcamp or any other website where you can buy their music and get it as a file on your pc (no streaming shit). Some albums are out there for free, legally! If you know an artist who uploads their music to tumblr you can just right click on their mp3 upload and download it directly :^)
Alternative 2: The classic
you can pretty much google youtube mp3 converter and click any link and it'll do the work. Here's a link from a safe piracy subreddit. You paste a youtube vid's link and hit convert/download etc.
I've also heard some people say Lucida is good (lets you download songs and albums by pasting the spotify/bandcamp/wtv link) but i can't say it has worked for me- always gives me a network error. But maybe it works for someone else.
Step 2: I got the music- now what?
Now you post it! Some songs (obscure or copyright-free enough) will just let you post them like that. Most songs won't. For a lot of them you'll have to add some silence or edit the metadata.
Adding silence to a song:
Option 1: Get audacity for free. Go to File > Open on the top bar and open the song you wanna add the silence to. Make sure you're at the start of the track (it says 00h00m00s at the bottom). Go to Generate > Silence... on the top bar also. Choose how long you want the silence to be, click "generate". You'll see a straight line appear at the start of the track- that means it worked. Go to File > Export > Export as MP3 to save it. You'll see a pop up where you can edit the metadata (things like artist, year, genre, etc.) i like having my audio files with metadata but for the purpose of tumblr posts you'll want to leave all that empty- if it's got that info erase it. Click "Ok". Done!
Option 2: Do it online on audiomass. Go to File > Load from Computer, open the song. Click on the white square with the S (insert silence button). Choose how long you want it to be, click "insert silence". You'll see a straight line appear at the start of the track- that means it worked. Go to File > Export/Download. Make sure it's mp3 format, i always save it as 256kbps but it's not neccessary. Click export. Done!
Some songs let you get away with only 5 or 8 seconds of silence. I try to have it be as short as possible, but most songs will need 10 seconds of silence. Sometimes even a little more, if even with the 10 seconds it doesn't let you post it try adding 0.25s more and checking.
I always play the file i just exported, to make sure everything's right.
Editing the metadata:
I'm gonna be honest i don't know how necessary this is but the audio post format works in mysterious ways so it's always better to be one step ahead. If you got it from youtube to mp3 or already added the silence then your file won't have any metadata, unless you didn't clear it when exporting from audacity. if you got it legally or pirated from any blogspot type site and didn't edit it at all it will probably have metadata. To edit it you have to right click the file > Properties, go to the "details" tab, and there you'll see things like title, author, year, genre, etc. You can just click on any section and change or erase it, then click "Ok".
As a last thing, it's generally better if the file is not saved as the song's name. Just name it anything else.
Compressing the file:
I almost forgot but there's also a size limit. I don't remember it at the moment because i've only had a problem with it once, but if you do just google "compress mp3 file" and go on any website to do it LOL
Step 3: Posting it
Now just go make a new audio post. Upload the file from your pc. If there's an error sometimes it'll tell you what it is (you don't own this song/the file is too heavy/etc) but sometimes it will just delete the audio post format and not tell you anything. If there's any error make sure you did everything (the silence, the metadata, the size, the file name). Maybe go back and add 0.5 or 1 more second of silence at the start. Sometimes tumblr just won't want you to post a song even with every step done right- nothing to do about that :( Sometimes you can try back after a while and it will let you post the song- sometimes it won't. There's no real logic to it tbh.
But if everything goes right it will upload correctly. Now you can add the song's title, artist and album info, and album art or whatever image you want n_n Hit post and done!

For this blog specifically, we only list webnovels that are free to read, or at least available in their entirety for free, even if there is an option to purchase them. We will not be listing any webnovels that are only accessible behind a paywall.
If you don't know what any of this is, hit the read more!
Webnovels are exactly what they sound like--original fiction published natively on the internet.
Web serial is a term for serialized fiction published on the internet--fiction that's published serially, AKA one chapter at a time.
The format is often associated with the superhero genre, due to Wildbow, one of the most prominent and prolific web serial authors of all time, writing a serial entitled Worm, which spurred a whole subculture of serial fiction inspired by its dark take on superhero comics. However, in the decades since Worm was published, the scene has exploded with other genres--if you know where to look. We hope to be one of the places to look.
You can also find webnovels on topwebfiction, a site where readers vote for their favorite webnovels.

Hello. I just started screenwriting. It was a bit difficult since all I've been writing was prose all my life but I got used to it in a bit once I finished watching all the Youtube tutorials and kept studying scripts, especially superhero ones since that's what I write. I started screenwriting because I realized I think more visually (especially with my ADHD) and I wasn't writing as much as I used to. Plus my writing style sucks. Peroid.
Can you share tips for beginner screenwriters? Like writing tv show and episodic stories if you can? It will be highly appreciated.
Also, how did you get into screenwriting?
Hi!
Welcome to the circus! We're all clowns here.
Nah, but real talk -- I'd be sure to check in on some free resources online that offer invaluable information and tips. Whether it's just random sites found via Google, or podcasts. Two of the only ones I personally really pay much attn to:
John August's Blog Scriptnotes Podcast (eps are free but there's Premium extras)
First things first, MY tip to you is to learn to love and embrace research. A huge part of the craft and job itself is researching. So if you learn to be good at it, even right off the bat in looking up tips on structure, formatting (Screenwriter's Bible is a great book for the technical basics), etc -- you'll be able to slowly learn the basics, and then how to evolve as a writer, and so on. Everything I ever knew of screenwriting before becoming a professional was self-taught, so don't think that one has to spend a fortune, take classes, etc to do this. If you have the determination, the drive, the work ethic, a smidgen of talent, and the delusion to not give up -- you never know how far you could actually go.
When it comes to the TV space, I will say it's... evolving. Drastically and quickly. 'Rules' and standards in the industry that were rules 20 years ago changed 10 years ago. And they're changing again now as we speak. That being said there's always going to be the core basics.
I think a good resource some for the basics at this point in time can be found here.
Beyond all that, a very helpful thing to do is to download and read as many scripts in the vein of what you hope to write as possible. Make a list of your favorite shows or ones in the genre and style and format you hope to work in -- and check around online. You're sure to find some pilots, maybe even some early pitches or show bibles for those series. Seeing how it's actually done on the page will always be the most valuable way of learning, above all else.
If you have more specific questions, I'm around and can try to help further. As for how I got into screenwriting? I realized very young I wanted to be involved in the industry in a creative capacity. I loved writing short stories and poetry as a kid and won some stuff in school but I never really thought about writing professionally. That being said, I was studying box office results like it was math homework and reading the trades while my friends were reading teen magazines on fashion and celeb couples, lol. At first I thought perhaps I would be a director since I'm a visual person, but then I wrote some fanfiction as a teen, and so many people would say "I wish you wrote for the show!" so I started to think maybe I could be a writer, but I didn't think I had my own stories to tell. And then... one day I did. I dove into some original ideas by thinking on what I wasn't seeing enough of from Hollywood (female lead action and thrillers, etc at the time) and off I went...
I've worked in the industry in other capacities (social media, PR, marketing, etc) from afar (in TX) for many years but eventually really started to do everything I could to pursue the true dream and be a writer. Alas, I wanted to make it on my own without asking for favors nor hookups. I would avoid what I did, if I were you -- GO AHEAD AND ASK FOR HELP. Don't be afraid to. I stupidly took longer than needed b/c I didn't want to be that person that asked for help or yet another friend of a celebrity who needed / wanted something from them. That was dumb. I could've saved myself years of struggling and hustling alone -- alas, lesson learned. 😂
Anyway, I eventually landed a rep via cold email queries. The guy was awful. I've since upgraded to much better reps and have a lot of exciting things happening. Slowly. The pandemic and strikes sidelined a lot and made projects that would've happened 5+ years ago only now start to really happen, but hey -- better late than never.
So yeah, just know that it's a really really REALLY hard time in the industry right now, and the TV space is being hit the hardest. That being said -- somebody still has to write for television. And there's no saying it can't be you, or anyone else reading this. If you can learn the basics of formatting and structure, hone your craft, find your VOICE as a writer, and work really really hard and be patient as hell... you never know what you can accomplish.

The official event tag is “#2025yearofwhumptropes”. This will be what I primarily rely on to find entries to reblog, so if you don’t use that tag it’s not likely to get reblogged here.
Tag it with both “#fandom” and the specific fandom if it’s a fanwork, or tag it as “#original work” if it’s an original work.
Use the relevant tags if your post has content that is intensely triggering (example: onscreen suicide) or potentially dangerous (example: flashing lights)
If your submission has explicit NSFW content, you MUST:
Tag it with “#NSFWhump”
Make sure any explicit content is under a Keep reading OR apply the “Sexual Themes” content label (“Mature” is too general to be very helpful! This is whump, we expect there to be some dark stuff!) You can do both but only one is required.
Tag it with the monthly theme, the weekly theme (if applicable), and the specific prompt used (if applicable). (Since you can fill any prompt any time during the year, make sure you tag it with the week/month the prompt belongs to, not when you actually post it if the two differ.)
Tag it for organizational purposes in the following format: #yowt25m[month number]w[week number]d[day number] Example: #yowt25m1w2d5 (for the fifth day of the second week of January)
Optional tags:
The format your submission is in. (Writing, art, photoshoot, etc.)
Any additional content warnings. Tags for common/major triggers or dangerous content are mandatory, as stated above, but I leave it up to you to decide how thoroughly you want to tag when it’s just for avoidance of squicks and the like. You’re strongly encouraged to be thorough but don’t obsess over whether you might have missed something.
"#participant post": I plan to put this on posts I reblog here.
Any other tags you want to include to help people who’d like it find the post (other tropes included, the characters involved if it’s fanwork, whether it’s ocs or nameless/generic if it’s original work, genre, setting, etc.)
Of course you can add any other tags you want, but when I reblog I’ll probably only copy over the ones that seem to serve some organizational and/or warning purpose.
Tagging incorrectly won't disqualify you from participating in the event, but it may disqualify your post from getting reblogged to this blog! (mainly because I'm depending on tags to find the posts and keep organized.)

✶ Welcome to Writing Nightmares! ✶
I’m your host, you can call me Bee (she/her/they). I’m 24, a big anime/manga fan, an artist, singer/musician, and gamer. My anime favourites are Bungo Stray Dogs, Kill la Kill, Black Lagoon, Naruto, and Death Note, but this blog will primarily revolve around Bungo Stray Dogs.
I’m chronically ill, so I use writing to fill my time, amongst my other hobbies. I’ve been writing all my life, and have run blogs on tumblr before, but never specifically for my writing. I used to write professionally, but now I prefer to do it for fun. I sometimes take a while to post, this is due to my health never being particularly stable, so please do be patient with me. ♡
I write in a bunch of different formats! This can be any of the following: headcannons, drabbles, oneshots, dedicated storylines, poems, and x reader. Feel free to send in asks with requests or ideas, or if you just want to chat!
Proceed with caution, as this blog will likely have spoilers for anime-only viewers!

All of my works will be marked using the following key on my masterlists: Not safe for work 18+ (NSFW) - Safe for work (SFW) - ANGST (A) - Fluff (F)
This is subject to change at my discretion. If you see a name missing from here, and the character is not listed as one I will not write for, feel free to send me an ask! I probably just forgot…

There may be a number of reasons I will not write for a character, but most commonly, it is because I don’t have enough source material to work with. If I can’t get a grasp for a character, I will tend to not write them, as I want to capture their personality fully.

Minors do not interact with this post ty
OK SO…. WE’RE GONNA TRY THIS.
Alright twitter people already know whats up, i got a private side twitter full of a specific genre of drawn content. BUT, I have been wanting to try to share that same content on other socials and i may have found a way to do all of that here on tumblr hopefully. SO, heres the deal;
If you want the @ to my freak account, you will message me privately for the @ and for me to give you access to it i have to know that you’re an adult somehow either by you telling me you are one or you having your age in your bio or some indication that you are an adult on your page. Now, if i catch you lying to me i will block you from that account and you are not getting unblocked, ever. Not even when you reach adulthood.
Alriiight. its gonna take me a minute to try to transfer my artwork over to the blog so uhhh if you want the twitter @ let me know in dms.
Thought this might be fun… i like tumblrs format and also i have the opportunity to answer questions and take requests, twitter peeps gotta wait awhile until i set up a strawpage since retrospring is shutting down… anyway yea yea thats it, enjoy the dungeon if you enter it. Hopefully tumblr doesnt nuke me uhh if anyone has any tips for running these sorts of accounts let me know tvym !!!!

Tumblr media
[ ID: An edit of a vintage photograph that shows a landscape in autumn. There are orange and yellow trees in the foreground, a large blue body of water in the midground, and a mountain range in the background. End ID ]
What is Firstil?
FIRSTIL is a xenofiction/animal fantasy worldbuild that has been in development since February of 2024. In a setting inspired by Acadia National Park and the surrounding northern Maine wilderness, the species featured in the saga are primarily accurate to real life environments and there are many options as to what a character can be.
Those in Firstil do not live in a single organized society, but they share a common language and a nature-based religion. Even then, both of these factors have countless branches that change based on the animal in question— the Common Tongue (also known as Rabble) was constructed many lifetimes after each species had their own language, and each species will have different beliefs and worship their own specific deities. There are also a set of ancient “laws” in place known to everyone in the land, but again, they may not mean the same to a mouse as they do to a hawk.
Because it is the wilderness and survival is of utmost importance to many, there is no guarantee for constant peace. Predator must hunt prey, territories are fiercely protected, wars and betrayals have been had. And yet, despite it all, the animals of Firstil try to work together, trading materials and talents and sharing age-old truces. It’s not a perfect place by any means, but this way of life is yet to crumble into dust.
Who are the characters?
Firstil contains more than one story arc and with it many different characters that might not belong to the same time periods or contexts. Because of this, and the fact that the story is still very much in production, it would be difficult to introduce them in this one post. Posts about the characters will be made under the tag “ firstil ; characters ” with further divided tags under their respective names.
So far there is: a raven, a pheasant, a puffin, a raccoon, a moose, a mourning dove, a saw-whet owl, seagulls, cats (from the nearby town), and plans for turkeys, a great blue heron, a porcupine, bats, a marten, a black bear, beavers, a mouse, and a turtle. Plus some possible farm animals like chickens and cows!
Can we make our own characters for Firstil?
Absolutely! Character guidelines will be made and posted on this blog eventually.
Will there be a Firstil RP?
It is very possible. If so, it will be multi-formatted and hosted on Discord and Toyhouse. Most likely a sandbox environment with encouragement for personal plots and suggestions for a collective storyline to follow. I’d love to make it a TTRPG setting someday and do some sort of campaign with a few people as well!
What are your future plans for Firstil?
I would love to make it a book series, officially published or not. I have already written little scenes here and there and I have decently solid ideas for a first book. I can’t guarantee a release date or anything like that because there’s still a lot to develop and it isn’t the only story project I am working on. However, I am very passionate about what I have. I’d like to keep this blog updated as much as possible and I do plan to make a website ASAP.
Who is the author?
Hi! My name is Autumn Langtree (they/them). I am a non-binary, autistic artist & writer in my early 20s. I’ve loved xenofiction and have been making stories related to the genre for as long as I can remember. Firstil is inspired by many titles and my own experience living in New England.
My visual art can be found on @taxiedermist. I also have an instagram under the same username and a toyhouse account under the name limulidae.

Gothic History-Episode 3: Bauhaus
Tumblr media
Welcome back to my Third Episode of Goth History. Before reading this episode, it might be helpful to read over the very first episode, which overviews the history of goth music and the genre's most influential bands. My older post is attached here for convenience.
For today's installment, we'll be re-examining history once again: specifically the late 1970's. A band called Bauhaus, fronted by vocalist Peter Murphy, became one of gothic rock's first pioneers. We'll be discussing their early success, inspiration, and influence on the contemporary goth scene.
Tumblr media
Bauhaus' formation can be traced back to friendships between Peter Murphy, guitarist Daniel Ash, bassist David J, and drummer Kevin Haskins.
Tumblr media
The name Bauhaus referenced the art period of the same name. This social movement gained traction throughout Weimar, Dessau, and Berlin, Germany. It's philosophy sought to combine thoughtful architecture with applied arts. Rather than crafting individual, adorned furniture pieces, the Bauhaus school aimed to construct functional items, with less of a focus on decoration. As a result, their craftsmanship remained accessible to the public. They incorporated mass-production techniques to make their selections available to the working class. Designers famously used geometric styles in their creations.
(1920's Bauhaus desk, armchair, and art.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
University workshops also included women in certain subjects such as sewing and ceramics. In the west, women's schooling was not supported by the government or state. Bauhaus, however, was state-funded. In older America, there was no federal incentive for girls to go to school.
Now that my feminist tangent is concluded, the four members chose "Bauhaus" to reflect their taste in art, architecture, and experimental movements.
(I have a theory that since the Bauhaus movement targeted the working class, that the Bauhaus band also wanted to include working-middle class people in its subculture. Which could be a part of the reason why DIY is so important to the goth scene. But this is just a speculation, and is not at all confirmed.)
Bauhaus released their hit single in 1979, titled Bela Lugosi's dead. Peter Murphy's deep, haunting vocals help distinguish the band from the wider post-punk pivot.
Tumblr media
In 1980, Bauhaus released its first debut album. "In the Flat Field" solidified the group's soundscape. Minor-toned basses, a bleak performance, and a brooding atmosphere are all famous hallmarks of the band, showcased in this very album.
After "In the Flat Field", Bauhaus released 3 more albums, before disbanding only 3 years later in 1983. Among them was "The Sky's Gone Out," which is my personal favorite album. In case you are wondering, "All I Ever Wanted Was Everything" is my favorite track.
Peter Murphy has since cultivated a successful solo career. I couldn't find a concrete "reason" for the band's dissolution, but it's worthy to note that all of the former members remain good friends to this day.
Tumblr media
The history of this band was unfortunately short-lived. Still, they are a cornerstone of the goth subculture. I love them for their literary lyrics, grim gothic atmosphere, and stylistic vocals.
All in all, it was hard to find much information on Bauhaus' history. Most articles I came across are community-led, which is a great thing but I cannot ascertain much of their credibility.
Still, their discography cemented gothic rock as an innovative, stand-alone genre. It is eloquent, bleak, ominous, and poetic. Despite having heavier instrumentation, goth rock has a refined reservation. It doesn't tell its audience directly what to believe and do with their lives. It allows listeners to introspect and interpret the tracks for themselves.

Hey I’m new to tumblr and want to start posting some of my writing for people to read and comment one. Do you have any tips on WIPs, drafts and how to get attention on it? Very new to this space so I don’t really know how things are done.
Hi! First of all, welcome to Tumblr (and Writeblr)!!
The first thing I recommend you do is make a Writeblr intro post and tag it #writeblr intro. Introduce yourself, what genres you like to write, who some of your inspirations are, what your WIP(s) is/are about. You can scroll through the tag to see what others have posted if you need ideas.
You can also make WIP specific intro posts and tag them #WIP intro. These tend to include images that match the vibe of your WIP and will also contain a blurb of what your story is about and a snippet or two of your writing.
For any writing you post - snippets, full chapters, WIP intros, OC intros, single sentences from your WIP - you can also make use of tags like #writing, #writeblr, #writers on tumblr, #fiction writing, #creative writing, #original writing, and genre specific tags like #fantasy writing. Put the five highest trending tags first to guarantee your post shows up in them.
Another great way to grow your blog (and help your writing find an audience) is to interact with other writeblrs. Follow the people who reblog your intro post, send them asks (and ask games like Story-Telling Saturday (STS) or Worldbuilding Wednesday (WBW)), reblog their WIPs, jump in on open tag games. My post for how tag games work can be found here. The more people get to know you the more people will send you asks back, tag you in games, and most importantly reblog your WIP posts so they can reach a wider audience.
You can also specify in your bio if you are ask/tag game friendly. You are more likely to get tags/asks if other writeblrs are certain they won't be annoying you haha.
In general, posts containing links to original writing hosted on other platforms (google docs, wordpress etc.) tend not to do as well as posts that contain the writing itself. I've also heard that posts with images and interesting titles tend to do better. Same with formatted paragraphs and dialogue as opposed to a single, huge text block.
Another thing you can do to help readers find your work is make a master-post for all your WIPs and pin it to the top of your blog. List each WIP, then add hyperlinks below (in reading order) to each post containing snippets/excepts from it. [To make a hyperlink: click on the three dots on the top of the post you want to link to, select "copy link", then go to the post you want to link from, select the text you want to link, then ctrl+v. This will be your end result.]
In settings, you can also feature up to 10 tags that you use for all content on your blog related to specific WIPs. This will help make it easier for readers to search for and find your content too.
My last bit of advice is to talk about writing on your blog (and use the tags). Make little jokes and memes, those "oof relatable" kind of posts, and make and reblog writing advice from time to time. It is the hard truth of WriteBlr that these posts get a lot more interaction than original writing does but they do serve to get your blog seen by more people because they are short, relatable, have wide appeal, and/or low-effort to read. Strangely, they seem to prompt people to check out your blog. I tend to get a small wave of new followers every time one of my posts reaches 100 notes or more. I can only speculate as to why this is.
I hope something in here helps and good luck!
If anyone else has any tips feel free to add on!

Blog Post Week 7
Is Privilege secluded to one type of group?
Privilege can apply to multiple groups due to it essentially allowing one to fit into an environment and reap the benefits of fitting in. This can be seen in T. Senft and S. Noble’s Race and Social Media as they discuss the formation of the “Shit People Say” video formats and how there have been the creation of different variations depending on the race of the creator and the race of those that they are making fun of. If one’s racial group aligns with the race of the group making fun of another group, they inherently have the Privilege of avoiding the position as the butt of a joke but at the same time they lack the Privilege of being included in some other group who makes fun of their race.
Can Privilege be earned?
Privilege can be earned as it is not specific to only race or gender cand can be applied to most groups. Those that want to join a certain group or circle at first would not have a great understanding of the culture therein and would be ostracized; however, upon learning how to fit into the community, they then raise their chances of acceptance and are in essence earning Privilege. The Privilege that they earn here could be a sense of community and belonging or could be the ability to gain access to exclusive social events.
Can Privilege be seen as a form of adaptation to one’s environment?
Since Privilege can be earned and allows for the entry into different forms of benefits, Privilege can be seen as a form of adaptation to one’s environment. This is essentially the same as “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” as upon acting like the rest of the group, you are able to decrease the chances of ostracization and increase chances of gaining protections or benefits from the group you are associating with. This type of temporary adaptation can also be changed depending on necessity as if someone moves from area to area, it may be beneficial to their well-being to attempt to adapt to the local society that they move into in order to heighten their Privilege.
Do media recommendations isolate different racial groups?
According to Race After Technology by R. Benjamin, companies such as Netflix market different shows and media to users based on an assumption of race that is created through an analysis of prior search history. This quantification of people into racial groups based on watch history poses an interesting question of whether or not the media is inherently dividing different communities based on their differences. By assuming race based on watch history, and then using this info to market media to a viewer based on their inferred race, it has the potential to isolate viewers into viewing only specific forms of media that may influence groups to see each other differently. Through enough exposure to a certain genre of media, it carries the potential of radicalizing someone to a certain point of view.

Do you support proshippers, cause if so then 😬.
People generally do not take this as an answer but I do want to say it because some people do care.
But I don't. Because I do not support either side and assigning me to either side does not reflect my views.
I actively oppose the conversation and the way is formatted and I intentionally do not engage.
I am neither a ProShipper or an Antishipper. And describing me as either would be describing me wrong. Why?
Because it's not a cut and dry issue.
It's not like Pro-life and Pro-choice where the question is simply 'Should abortion be legal'?
The shipping argument is asking if a RANGE of topics ranging from abusive relationships or negative depictions of mental illness to literal CP are okay - all under one question.
Asking me this is like asking "Hey do you support people that age up Damien Wayne in fics *cough*(and also people who write horribly dangerous things like graphic sexual assault for their own dark amusement..those people too)*cough*"
Like...the question to begin with is flawed.
With a question formatted like that - there is absolutely no way to have a healthier clear conversation that makes sense or accurately displays anyone's views.
The conversation itself is to vague and too broad to offer any type of fruitful conversation whatsoever. And I stand on that.
Like, I'd say at least half of the takes I see from either side I think are wrong, ridiculous, or based on vague arguments that just don't make sense.
I'm Not a Pro-Shipper cause there is some weird shit out there I'm not attaching myself to. Because some people out there are deranged, and malicious, and this is the internet.
I'm NOT an Anti-Shipper because there are a LOT of fucked up things that do wind up in media that tell a specific story - and there's also shit in the conversation that just doesn't fucking matter.
If you're writing about a character who went through CSA and your goal is to show a story about someone who lives with that trauma? Great. I'm for that so long as you do your research and do it respectfully
If you're writing out the SCENES???? AT LENGTH?? Go somewhere. Preferably a jail cell but somewhere that's not here.
If you're aging up a character and headcanon-ing what they'd be like in the future for shipping purposes - or you're shipping characters with no in-universe confirmed age. I couldn't care less.
If I don't wanna read it, I won't support it. I won't give it kudos or views. It's got nothing to do with me.
If you're writing things that are openly racist or openly sexualizing a character you are clearly writing as a child - absolutely fucking not. Anime men I'm looking at you.
And if you write black characters involved in raceplay count your mfing days.
It's not a cut and dry issue, so to ask me to define myself in one word on a topic of dozens of different genres isn't going to give you a clear picture of my views.
You are more likely to get a more clearer answer if you ask me about that specific genre and topic.
I am vocally and clearly on neither side and opposed to a conversation that is narrow and often ends in miscommunication.
There's always going to be a Pro-Shipper or Anti-Shipper out there that I deeply disagree with.
I refuse to engage and support a conversation that lumps together very serious issues with very asinine things and then expects me to answer in one word at threat of harassment (not you in specific, but very realistically in general).
I am a person of complex opinions. You see my blog. You really expect me of all people to be able to describe myself in one word?
Maybe in the terms of "Pro-Life" vs Pro-Choice (I'm Pro-Choice obviously) But in this conversation I cannot do it. I am very firmly neither.
I hope that answer your question, and since I feel like this should be said - especially with the fandom we're in - I'm happy to answer your question.
Like I said, a lot of people just won't take this as an answer. And that's fine. But I said what I said.
If you engage in this conversation and you think I agree you, you're wrong. If you engage and you think I disagree with you, you're wrong. Cause I am simply sitting here in silence, writing my silly little analysis and looking pretty, and will continue to do so.
Now if you'll excuse me, there's a photo of Hobie that I need to stare at.

Writeblr Intro v3
Updating the pinned intro now that it's been a year and my (now previously) main WIP is complete as it's going to be.
Me:
I write as a hobby. It's something I do for fun and first and foremost for myself. But if other people happen to actually like what I write, that's pretty cool too.
I try to keep this main blog primarily writing-focused. I've set up the side-blog @traversedmiscellany for reblogging/posting any other random stuff that happens to catch my interest.
I tend to prefer to keep my online and offline lives separate so I rarely say much about personal details aside from what inevitably winds up leaking into talking about my writing.
I am open to tag games and ask games. Or just general writing-related asks.
If anyone would like to be added to a tag list (whether for WIP updates or tag games), please feel free to send me a message or reply to this post, specifying what you want to be on the tag list for.
My WIPs:
Completed (Is it still a "WIP" at this point? Either way, it's fully online and available to read for free.):
The Archivist's Journal:
A slice-of-life story about waking up on a fantasy tropical island told over the course of a year in the form of daily journal updates. Mostly fairly chill, just living life one day at a time, but with some occasional angst, social anxiety, and supernatural spookiness.
The whole story (just over 330,000 words) is posted on my side blog @thearchivistsjournal. Or if you want to read from the beginning, here's the chronological posting. Or if you prefer to read in a format other than Tumblr posts, it's mirrored over on my ScribbleHub.
Also, here's the post I made when the project was completed for some more meta background on it and what I mean when I call it "complete."
I may eventually make additional scattered journal entries as a sort of periodic epilogue, but Day 380 should be considered the end of the "main story," so to speak.
Ongoing:
Empty Names:
My current main project. Also freely available to read in full as chapters go up.
A bit of an episodic urban fantasy moster-of-the-week sort of deal that's mostly an excuse to have a cast of OCs that I like interact with eachother. The basic premise is a world-hopping adventurer attempts to set up a sword-and-sorcery style adventurer's guild in a modern world where "adventurer" isn't considered a legitimate profession. Has what I suppose one might call "genre-typical violence" with fighting monsters and such, and individual chapters are tagged with more specific content warnings where necessary.
Here's the masterpost for it with links to chapters and to several standalone side stories set in the same world/setting.
I'm much more casual with my update schedule on this project, but it seems to be coming out to posting weekly chapter updates for a month or two at a time and then taking a month or two off from posting while I rebuild my buffer queue for the next batch of chapters.
Also, while it's not exactly a focus, the five characters of the core cast are all some flavor or another of LGBTA+, if that's a selling point for you.
The Witches' Testaments:
A prequel to the currently-hiatused "Solarpunk Witch Story" below that I wrote the loose framework and beginnings of in a sudden fit of inspiration that I may return to sporadically.
The idea was to focus a bit more on the "punk" side of Solarpunk and paint a picture of the effort and rebellion that went into how that world transitioned from Cyberpunk dystopia to Solarpunk... well, not utopia exactly, but something better than it was and striving toward that dream.
And because that sort of thing is bigger than any one person and I had multiple worldbuilding concepts I wanted to touch on, I landed on the idea of writing it in the form of a series of interviews with various characters who lived through that period of change.
Here's the masterpost for it.
Indefinite Hiatus:
Untitled Solarpunk Witch Story:
A project that I absolutely intend to return to one day once Empty Names is finished, but that's going to be a good long while yet.
The story of a freshly-minted "witch" and her AI familiar traveling from town to town in an ecologically-recovering post-capitalism future, providing highly-specialized tech support and environmental consulting wrapped up in enough mysticism and aesthetics to blur the line between what's purely technology and what might possibly be some kind of magic. I only ever wrote a prologue and five chapters worth of an initial arc/town/problem to solve, but I liked what I wrote well enough to share all that online. Ultimately this project going on hold was a matter of it being one project too many for me to handle simultaneously on the time combined with a desire to get more experience at traditional prose writing (as opposed to the epistolary format of The Archivist's Journal) so that I could better do the concept justice when I do one day revisit it.
In the meantime, those initial rough chapter drafts are all up online here: Solarpunk Witch Masterpost
Miscellaneous other writing:
On most Thursdays I'll post small (couple hundred words at most) pieces based on various interesting dreams that I've had. Being based on dreams, the content is a mixed bag. Those are tagged under #my dreams. These now have a compilation Masterpost that I'll do my best to keep updated.
Alternatively, if you just want to browse semi-random excerpts and snippets from the above works, I post a lot of that under #tag game.
Some Standalone Short Stories:
(Stories that were either written to be standalone pieces, or appear within something else but worked well enough by themselves that I gave them their own separate posts.)
The Tale of the Merchant and the Blacksmith's Daughter: A sapphic fairy tale (and, in retrospect after writing, possible trans allegory).
The Melts: An attempt to shift what would normally be body horror into the genre of slice-of-life. "What if your body slowly melting over the course of the day were treated as no more serious than the common cold and you still had to go to work?"
Kindly Basilisk: A human mech pilot who wants to be a machine, an AI who wants to be human, and the relationship they form.
