incredibly cold take but i really do not understand how bl*od/weave became the most popular origin/origin ship, both for each character or like. just in general. like they both make way more sense in a romance with wyll than with each other and more compelling cases could also def be made for gale/shadowheart (both having a crisis of faith and struggling to define their identity outside of said faith) and astarion/karlach (touch-averse vs touch-starved and jaded pessimism vs boundless optimism). hell i'd even see gale/lae'zel before i'd see gale with astarion. they simply do not like or respect each other. it's literally anders/fenris all over again tbh.

However tho I find a lot of conversations about what is and isn't "inherently queer" function with the underlying idea that as long as something is "inherently queer" it's "safe" from mockery, so to speak, but once something is decided to not be "inherently queer" it becomes okay to make fun of it/people who fall under that identity umbrella. I do think asexuality and aromanticism are "inherently queer" or whatever, don't get me wrong, but I've seen similar conversations about polyamory - which, since straight people can participate in it, is considered by a lot of people to not be "inherently queer", and once polyamory is deemed "not inherently queer" people think it's okay to go back to posting stupid jokes making fun of polyamory, polycules, etc. (including making fun of polyamorous people for DARING to say they're "oppressed", they're not even Real Queers like us!), which I think blatantly misses the point. I don't think polyamory should need to be "inherently queer" for it to be worthy of like. not being made fun of basically lmao and I think if the only way you can be Fucking normal about polyamory, bdsm, and honestly even asexuality and aromanticism is by deeming them "inherently queer" and thus "like you", you're missing the forest for the trees.

The specifics of what "queer" does and doesn't mean will also vary from person to person to such a degree that you'll get people on here who say with their chest that a cisgender heterosexual man who crossdresses sometimes is "more queer" than "white normie gay men with office jobs" or whatever, so arguments like "is polyamory Inherently Queer" will automatically be messy because people will be functioning with very different definitions of what "being queer" is. I don't think straight cis people who do polyamory are Inherently Queer, not really - although it's an alternative lifestyle with a great great overlap with gay and trans people, it's not The Same Community, and I know a lot of polyamorous people who don't identify as "queer" at all lol. hey, i'm a transgender person who came across your blog while looking through some tags. i don't necessarily agree with much of your views (i'm very much not a gender critical), but your posts have given me a new perspective on detransitioners. i didn't hold any animosity towards them before (or much of an opinion at all really), but my understanding of them didn't have much depth. i just wanted to say that i feel a great amount of empathy for you. transitioning might have not been the answer for you, but i hope someday your dysphoria dissipates and you're able to find peace. you aren't a freak for pursuing a path that didn't end up being right for you, you simply tried to alleviate your dysphoria in the only way you knew how to. i'm sorry it didn't work out. and i'm sorry so many of my peers treat detransitioners with vitriol when we really should be extending our support to them. i apologize if this came off as me pitying your situation. i'm not good at conveying words through text, but i just want you to know that my sentiments are genuine. i'm sure this is kind of a weird thing to get in your inbox (probably even weirder coming from a transgender person, sorry). i suppose we're at odds with each other, but i hope you are able to find happiness and someone who will love you for you.

Thank you so much for this message, sweet. One of the driving forces in my decision to publish my mostly unfiltered turmoil in relation to my dysphoria (beyond the fact that I just need a place where I can drop it and forget about it) was/is the wish for people to gain this very perspective through my blog. I find that a not-insignificant portion of the gender-critical community consists of people who (self-admittedly) do not actually experience long-term dysphoria to the degree that I and many other transgender people experience (meaning they're just parroting talking points without a personal, in-depth understanding of what it is actually like to hate yourself and your body to such a degree and be so fucking desperate to just make it stop), while the wider detransitioned community (contrary to somewhat popular belief) do not actually criticize gender identity as a concept, and in fact, often continue to find comfort in upholding it post-detransition. I also find that the ways in which dysphoria is approached and talked about in both communities can be a bit... shall I say... missing-the-forest-for-the-trees in that there is so much emphasis on "curing" dysphoria (whether through the means of transition, therapy, or simply "growing out of" it) riddled into the ideologies that when they come across someone like me—someone who has continued to have severe, persistent dysphoria through transition, detransition, and pretty much everything under the sun—they, very often, have no idea what to do or say because I exist outside of the plane of generalizations they have based their beliefs off of. I believe, if you want to have an honest conversation about mental health, you have to acknowledge that you can do everything "right" and still suffer—I am living, breathing, walking proof of that shitty fact. I choose to be pragmatic about it, to show that both "solutions" to this internal nemesis have caused me pain in different ways, because I think it's way too easy for people—including myself—to forget that real people's stories are often much more nuanced and complicated than mere theories would have you assume. Maybe that's cliché, dramatic, pessimistic or self-defeatist of me. But it's messages like yours that show my decision has made the intended impact.

-Raised in a small Colorado mountain town as a child. A bad fight with her parents as a teenager made her leave home. Was aimless for a couple of years before taking a job as a farm hand in a farm near Hope County. After seeing and hearing about the cult + John buying out the farm she worked for, she quickly joined the Sheriff's Department as an impulse to attempt to help with the cult

-Youngest member of the Hope County Sheriff's department by a sheer year or two. Took the role of 'department baby' right out of Pratt's hands. Can't imagine he took this too well but it's not like he's gonna tell anyone

-4 foot 11. Yes. She is tiny as hell. Makes the saying 'the smaller you are, the closer you are to hell' a scientific fact with her sheer existence however

-She has short, red hair that is too curly and fluffy to really style too much. Large, bright 'yellow' eyes (she claims they're amber. It's more of a light, warm brown tone. Think honey).

-The worst impulse control known to man. Roads? Roads do not exist. People will see her burst through the forests on a out of control ATV and watch as she crashes into 27 rocks and 58 trees while somehow miraculously surviving.

-Secretly loves the cult's music. She can, will, and has listened to it in any way she can if a radio is present in the vehicle she uses. If someone gets in the car with her, usually the moment she turns it on, they're blasted with 'OH LORD! THIS EARTH WAS MADE FOR US!!' before she will violently and quickly turn it off. There is but a moment of silence before she just "....That was a hack- Wow, Ok, this is so rude of the peggies to just hack into my radio like that, can you believe that-?? -Of course, no one believes her. Do they speak of it? Course not.

I have a mini AU where instead of killing the Seeds, the deputy simply slaps a 'Junior Sheriff' sticker on their chests and drags them off to have them help beat Joseph and unfuck the messes they all made! Here's some fun bits on this with dear ol Em!

-John was the first one she dragged along. He hated it, but it wasn't like he was going to miss up on an opportunity to skip out on death. Tried to use the flimsily holographic sticker as a way to get what he wants. That was shot down fast.

-Faith was next. She was less aggressive than John about it, as with the traumas and manipulation of the cult, she was more than happy to help a cause that would take them down entirely. It just took a near death experience to turn her views around. She was the quickest to befriend for this reason for Em.

-Jacob was the epitome of 'Why is it in a cage? Because it growled at me...' arguably the hardest to get to be compliant. Thankfully a bit more relaxed due to the fact his little brother John was present, but it wasn't enough for a small while. During this time of "taming the beast", Em found that he takes wolf documentaries like a baby takes sensory videos. Will stare mindlessly at the phone for hours.

-Upon any of the resistance members questioning Em on her inclusion of the Seeds of all people in their fight, she simply says "We're with the IRS!". This tends to just confuse them enough to keep them quiet.

It's so interesting to me tht I've never read or watched Interviews With the Vampire but something abt the idea of vampires still made me go, "Yes, I wanna write abt a toxic gay couple torn by idealism and power struggles"

Especially for white ppl. And how they drag you along for the ride. How whiteness cannibalises itself and is so unsustainable. Yet it's an institution that seems immortal, amd can only be killed when ppl divest from it.

Vampires only really die when they allow themselves to die. The burden of power only dies out when those with power are overpowered or give up their power.

A lot of vampire stories are abt ppl who seemingly have it all, but live in misery and make others miserable. They're warnings not to give into the trappings of life so much you become a monster.

This is also why I equate vampire to fae and I think ppls arguments abt Twilight vampires is actually nonsense. What is a vampire if not a different type of fae?

This is the problem with ppl, they ARE blinded by beauty they don't acknowledge the darkness. Isn't tht every fae story?

This is also the Jupiter - Gemini paradox. Either you see the leaves or the trees, but no one's checking the forest. There's an entire ecology at work here but you want to argue semantics, missing the very point of the narrative.

Which takes us back to Whiteness and Power. When Dracula was written, whiteness was already invented, but vampire stories predate race, as does ableism, misogyny, queerphobia, and xenophobia. Nobility existed. Poverty existed. War existed. There are many ways ppl hold power over others, yet also can hold both power and be devalued.

Power is an intangible thing that is made up by the whim of those around you. It's a decision made between ppl. Vampire lore fill the gaps of this nebulous state.

All this to say I'm excited to start working on my dark fantasy lmao. I've been on a dark divinity kick. Q: Why do you have so many Hibird photos in your makeup area?

A: They're from Yamamoto Ryosuke! Ryosuke receives a Hibird photo from the production team every performance, so he gives them all to Kento since he's Hibari after all. He has around 8 of them. Sometimes Ryosuke forgets to give it to him and he feels unnecessarily disappointed lmao

Q: Thoughts on receiving Hibari's role A: First he wondered a lot about how he'd portray Hibari's fighting style, and tried to portray his cloud-like, untouchable feeling. Kento was set on fighting with "pauses" and "urgency" for Hibari. Hibari's the fastest in thinking and acting, like that time when everyone was panicking about Byakuran's attack, while Hibari immediately left to check on Namimori since that's where the attack landed.

Hibari can also be misleading. When the Real 6 Funeral wreaths landed at Namimori, he was first to speak. However, just when you think he was going to propose a plan, he just states that one of them landed in Namimori, which makes you wonder just how much he loves the place haha.

That unexpectedness makes him interesting to the viewers. He tends to speak, pause in the middle, and then change his tone/aura when he continues his sentence.

Q: Thoughts on Hibari before and after playing him A: He talked about this in his blog post. After playing him, he thinks of other people more than you'd expect. He acts to protect Namimori, and as a result, saves people.

Q: Have you planned the curtain call interactions with Ryohei and Lambo beforehand? A: Nope. That was all thanks to Kimeru adlibbing, and Kento has no idea when Ryohei will jump in lol.

On a tangent, but he very much admires Kimeru for perfectly playing his role. He has already perfected the role even when they just started rehearsing. He has the formula for Lambo down pat. This makes it easy for someone to copy and stand in for him during rehearsals.

Q: Can you share more info on the action parts? A: Every week he gets the stunts instructor to teach him something new, then he practices it on his own for the rest of the week.

Apparently, he practiced while facing a tree at the park, haha. A lot of people commented, saying they want to be the tree. He was like, "No way lol". There were so many people wanting to become trees that he said they were going to turn into a forest lol.

He then talks in detail about how to do a roundhouse kick properly lmao. The left leg/standing leg is important apparently lmao. He repeats this sentence a couple of times and demonstrates it with his fingers.

Sometimes he got tired after doing it so many times. However, when he started doing 1 hour stretches everyday, it became a lot easier.

Does aftercare? (Is that the right term to use here? haha) after practice because it's a lot of strain on his left leg and arm.

Q: What are your similarities with Hibari? A: He likes to do things on his own. Hyperfocused on what he likes. Is stubborn.

Q: Thoughts on Tsuna and Hibari's relationship, and your relationship with Takenaka Ryohei A: Tsuna is an important person in Present and Future Hibari's life.

Takenaka Ryohei is amazing. He has a different reaction to Present Hibari and TYL Hibari and he can really see and feel it... Ryohei's act really contributes to Kento's own acting. It's because Ryohei reacted that way that Hibari seems even more fearsome.

Ryohei can portray Tsuna's fear of TYL!Hibari, but then also show a different reaction when he stops Present!Hibari during Choice.

Usually, it should be the protagonist who would do something proactively while everyone else reacts. As the protagonist, but it's hard to give large reactions. However, in KHR, it's often Tsuna who reacts. It's because Tsuna reacts in a certain way that you can figure out what type of person the other character is. Ryohei is amazing for being able to do that role.

Q: Was it you playing as Alaude's silhouette? A: Yes. Yamamoto also played as Ugetsu.

Random tidbit: At the part where Deisy gets caught with the huge handcuffs, they didn't have those huge handcuffs until they were at the venue lol. So they've been practicing without it until then.

That's why his actions during that scene slowly started to change, since he began to have ideas on what else he could do at that scene.

Q: Thoughts on the Hibari switch scene A: He asked viewers when they realized it wasn't Kento as Hibari onstage? On their first watch? During the stream?

Daiki tried really hard to copy Kento's Hibari, like his walk so people wouldn't catch on. Was really happy when it was decided Daiki was the one who'll be his body double. He actually thought it would be an ensemble doing it, until 2 weeks (?) into rehearsals

Q: Happenings onstage? A: He doesn't really want to talk about it... However, after he turned 25, he's become more open to his mistakes so he can talk about this now haha.

When wearing suits, he wants to look suave and used to wearing them. Having the box in his pants pocket ruins the silhouette of the suit, and so would placing it in his chest pocket, even though the latter seems cool. He talked with the costume designers to add some sort of leather pouch (?) at his waist.

However, after putting the box in and out of the pouch so many times, the leather pouch worse out and became looser. In one performance, the box dropped to the floor sometime without his notice. ("Roll rolled." LOL)

During his fight with Genkishi, he stuck his hand in the pouch while talking and realized it wasn't there. He was like, Oh Shit, lmao. Then clumsily tried to hide the fact that he has no box by taking out his hand and only showing the back of it to the audience, lmao.

He watched a clip of that performance afterwards and learned that the box fell while he did a roundhouse kick.

Also, during the fight with Deisy, he can't see anything. The lights were so bright. When he twirls the handcuffs, it has to face a certain side so that the cuff would close, but sometimes it ends up facing the wrong side, so he has to twirl it back. However, it's hard to figure out if it's facing the right side or not because of the light, so he accidentally dropped the handcuffs once.

(There were actually a few fan reports saying that Kento seemed to drop his props often lol)

Q: Thoughts on Hibari unbuttoning his suit before fighting A: When raising your arm while wearing suits, the middle part scrunches open and he doesn't like that. He wants Hibari to look flawless, so he tried to make it part of the act to unbutton the suit.

He doesn't do this for the part where he trains Tsuna, since he doesn't want to make it like Hibari's doing it for appearances. He tries to make it seem like it's an act Hibari does when he expects a good fight.

Q: Any special training? A: He has a lower center of gravity because he played ice hockey seriously for 9 years. He's jealous of actors who took karate and dance since they are useful skills as an actor. He believes that playing ice hockey and balancing on ice skates really contributed to doing action scenes.

Q: Do you do any weight/muscle training? A: He used to go to the gym, but stopped because of covid. He apparently started classic ballet recently. He likes gaining strength without getting too bulked up. Before he hated wearing tight clothes, but now he has embraced it lmao

Q: Any KHR weapons he would like to try? A: He likes Japanese swords, so he likes Yamamoto's sword style.

When Chrome was handed the Devil Lens, he wondered how one would fight with it? How do you make it look like you use it often? Do you twirl it like a pen?

He's seen James' whip skills live during Secret Bullet and was very impressed that James was able to use them to the fullest. It's a weapon you can more easily hurt yourself with after all.

During rehearsals, there wasn't a center door to come out from, so he had to wait at the sides while Dino and Deisy were fighting. Hibari often comes out from the center door, so he calls Hibari a "Center Door Guy", lol.

Q: Judging from how fast you changed into the yukata during curtain call, are you the type of person who changes clothes fast? A: He has to change from suit to yukata in 1 minute and 30 seconds and be careful not to make Hibari look sloppy, so he was really worried about it... That's why you'd see him touching his collar from time to time.

He asks fans to answer the Reborn! The Stage questionnaire and request for a rerun of the Future arc stage plays. They were able to change the future in Future arc, so he believes we can change the future in real life as well. A rerun isn't impossible in his opinion.
