The books have closed on another season of camping.
Yesterday, while Sheila worked, I went to our Wisconsin site to winterize the trailer and side-by-side vehicle. Leaving them there is nice. Not towing them home is awesome and saves me $ on gas.
Though it saddens me when the camping season ends, I find satisfaction in the winterization process. I cleaned and organized things. The Dyson even had to be recharged. Does that make me sound like a bad housekeeper?
I packed stuff to bring home that I don't want to freeze, such as aerosol bottles of sunscreen and cooking spray. Later I used my air compressor to clear the water lines. After that I added RV anti-freeze to drains. Sheila and I made checklists to help me remember what to bring home and leave there.
This morning I finished my tasks. The final step was to re-fill one of the propane tanks. I drove to town to meet my propane guy.
Disclosure: I don't actually have "a guy" for propane. It feels like it though. The gas station owner seems to enjoy talking to (or just humors) me as he fills the tank and I ask questions about the propane business.
I will never, ever buy propane anywhere besides his store.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. The bar and restaurant our friends own has more UTVs/ATVs in the parking lot than trucks and cars. Actually there were zero cars in the parking lot, only trucks. Like any good, rural Wisconsin tavern, there is a sign for a gun raffle and a hunting rifle on the wall.
I saw cows all over as I rode the side-by-side around the area. Farmers were harvesting crops too, but I didn't get a picture of them.
This morning I left for home. Well, our Minnesota home. Initially I drove slowly, as there were a good number of Amish buggies on the road. The Amish always wave and so do I. They appeared to be on their way to church.
It was cold as I left Wisconsin. The feeling when the heater finally has heat, oh I love that. Not that I was shivering, but when warm air starts coming out of the floor vents it's like winning the lottery.
Okay, it not as good as becoming a multimillionaire, but more like matching enough numbers to win $4. Still a nice feeling though.

I guess it's a good time to announce that I got a puppy! We adopted her three days ago. She's fourteen weeks old now, and allegedly a germen shepherd/ leonberger mix. She's already about 30 pounds and huge.
He name is ATV, or Attie for short 💕
She was from an accidental litter on a hobby farm, her momma is an outdoor livestock guardian, so at 14 wks old, she has never been in a house, played with toys, rode in a car, gone to the vet, worn a collar or walked on a leash, or taken a bath, nor is she used to all the sounds that come with city living. She was extremely shut down when she got home, but she's already blossoming and opening up so well!
She's silly, she's sweet and gentle. She has started following me around like a little shadow and she's getting so brave and gaining confidence so fast. We went from having to carry her in and outside, to her walking on a leash the entire way and sniffing and exploring. At first, when she saw someone or something scary, she would try to bolt, now she sits down and looks up at me, sees that I'm calm, and proceeds to watch calmly too. We ran across the same maintenance guy (a big guy in a reflective vest with little flags and a noisy walkie) a couple of times and the most recent time she even gave him a little, covert sniff while we were walking by. So she's doing great!
She's also figuring out that toys are really fun! She likes to gather them all into one place and proceed to play with all of them in turn. She figured out that if she steps on one, it'll squeak, and she squeaks back at it 😂
She's curious about the cats, but afraid of Marble, who gave her a good growl when she first got here, so she's very respectful of his space. They've shared a few covert sniffs when the other isn't looking. Sinn got a little too excited and ran right up to sniff her nose on the first day and she got scared and helped, and he's been taking that personally... But he's venturing out of the room he was hiding in as we speak to observe from that cat tree.
Our biggest hurdle right now is potty training and sleeping through the night. I expected potty training to be rough, since she's lived outside her whole life. What I wasn't expecting is that she would hold it literally until she can't hold it anymore, even if we're going outside every other hour so she can try... She can definitely hold her bladder all night, which is impressive for a baby, let alone one used to peeing wherever and whenever, but it makes it really hard to figure out when she needs to go and how to encourage her to go outside instead of inside. Plus she has no vaccines on board, so we have to be very careful where we take her, so longer potty walks to help encourage her to go aren't an option right now.
The crate is also very scary... She's happy to go in it during the day, but at night she freaks out a little. She's ended up sleeping locked in the bathroom both nights, which isn't the worst set up, and somehow much less scary to her?? She settled down on the tile and goes to sleep pretty fast honestly. So we're feeding her in her crate and giving her treats and toys in there and trying to make that a fun spot for her

Chapter 16
Tags: Murder
A/N: This is where 2019 Emily chickened out & 2023 Emily did not
Hobi zipped up his barn jacket and rubbed his hands together. It was already cold in November. It was frigid at 5am on a November morning. He heard an ATV and saw the rider wave at him. Hobi jogged over and got on.
“You ready?” Namjoon asked.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” he replied.
“I told them to meet me here at 7 for the raid. That gives us 2 hours,” Namjoon told him as they rode. “Well, an hour and a half or so.”
“Think we can do it?” Hobi asked.
“I’ve got tactical training and you’re pissed off. If it has to be 2 people to take this bastard down, it’s gonna be the 2 of us,” Namjoon stopped. “We’re gonna have to walk from here or they’ll hear us. Appointments don’t start until 8am.”
“Is that what they call them?” Hobi asked.
“It makes you feel less gross,” Namjoon replied.
“Did you...pick Jin?” Hobi hated how that sounded.
“I told them my mate was too sick to carry a pup to term and they matched me with Jin. I didn’t mean to fall in love with him. It just...happened,” Namjoon looked into the distance like he wasn’t sure if it was a good memory or a bad one. “It wasn’t until later that I realized my mate knew he was gonna die before Jisoo was born. He wanted to nurture my bond with Jin and then right before he died, he told me to do whatever it took to get him out.”
“Yoongi said these...appointments...aren’t cheap. How could you afford it?” Hobi asked as they hopped down a steep embankment.
“My mate’s family was well off. We told them that we were trying an experimental fertility treatment. They didn’t ask questions or if they did he never told me,” Namjoon said. “I prepaid for the rest of Jin’s pregnancy after my mate died and Jimin didn’t ask questions.”
“Sounds like he won’t if there’s enough money involved,” Hobi said.
“Yup,” then Namjoon stopped them. About 100 yards ahead, they saw a building that looked like a hunting lodge.
“That’s it?” Hobi whispered.
“Yeah,” Namjoon replied. “Most of it’s underground except for the pen and that one wing of the hospital.”
“How do we get in?” Hobi asked.
“The guards don’t come on shift until 7:30. We have 85 minutes to do this,” Namjoon told him.
“Got it,” Hobi said. They walked up to the front door and tried the handle. It was locked. Namjoon pulled out a case about the size of a manicure kit and produced some tools.
“They teach lockpicking at the police academy?” Hobi raised an eyebrow.
“No, but I’ve found it’s a really useful skill to have,” Namjoon replied as the lock clicked open. He put the tools back in his pocket and carefully walked inside.
“Now what?” Hobi asked.
“Service isn’t great, but keep your phone on. I still remember how to get to the holding area for the Omegas. You go find Jimin,” Namjoon told him. Hobi nodded and they split up. The whole house was dark and the sun wasn’t up yet. Hobi didn’t dare use the flashlight on his phone. Jimin was an Alpha, so Hobi focused on his scent. They obviously kept the main area very clean because he couldn’t smell much, Alpha or Omega. He crept down the main hall against the wall and focused. There had to be a hint somewhere. Even cologne. As he went down the hall, he saw a light on under one of the closed doors. He carefully crept toward it and inhaled. Definitely another Alpha. Of course, if he could smell them then they could smell him. He’d have to move fast.
Hobi carefully turned the knob and whipped in through the door. He was met by a forearm to the throat. He fell on his back and got the wind knocked out of him. Jimin stood over him, rubbing his arm.
“Not very good at getting the jump on me, eh?” he said.
“I got in here, didn’t I?” Hobi replied.
“Touché. What do you want?” Jimin asked.
“You’re smarter than that,” Hobi pushed himself up on his elbows as he caught his breath. Jimin crouched down in front of him.
“Let me rephrase. Who are you? Then I’ll know what you want,” Jimin said.
“I found Min Yoongi half dead in my front yard 8 months ago after he escaped here,” Hobi replied.
“So he did survive. I thought he did. I lost a lot of business when he got away. I couldn’t afford to spend months trying to determine if he was alive or dead, though. I still had a business to run,” Jimin stood up.
“This isn’t a business. It’s a prison,” Hobi glared up at him.
“I provide a service that people are willing to pay for. That, by definition, is a business,” Jimin replied. “I don’t suppose Yoongi ever told you how he ended up here?”
“Why would that matter?” Hobi sat up.
“Satisfy your idle curiosity?” Jimin replied.
“Fine, but I have no reason to believe a single thing you say,” Hobi said.
“He came here willingly when he was 15. He was already whoring himself out. At least here he wouldn’t be out on the streets. He was happy to take me up on my offer. He knew what he was getting into,” Jimin said. Hobi refused to believe it. He refused to believe that Yoongi would’ve willingly gone there. Beyond that, whoring himself out? It was impossible. Not the loving, caring Omega who was asleep at home right now with no idea what Hobi was up to. Without thinking, Hobi jumped up and took a swing at Jimin. His fist made contact with the side of Jimin’s face. He unleashed his Alpha instincts and years of trying to control horses and easily pinned Jimin against the wall.
“You’re lying,” he growled.
“Ask him yourself,” Jimin replied, clearly not concerned Hobi would do any real harm.
“No,” Hobi snapped.
“Because you’re scared that I’m telling the truth?” Jimin taunted.
“Because you almost destroyed him. I’m not opening up another old wound,” Hobi snarled. He was going feral. This man would never go near his mate and daughter. He’d never leave this compound. Jimin recognized the look in Hobi’s eyes.
“Are you gonna kill me?” Jimin asked, touching his split lip.
“No,” Hobi replied. “I’m gonna do to you what you did to my mate.”
“Which is?” he asked.
“Watch while someone else does my dirty work. There’s more than one Omega down there who would be happy to get their hands on you. Perhaps you misjudged the safety of the door to the pen and the Omegas were able to get in there with you. The doors out of there might jam and you’re stuck in there with a dozen pissed off Omegas. Your brilliant plan to hide in your own death trap failed,” Hobi told him.
“You wouldn’t do that,” Jimin said.
“Watch me,” Hobi grabbed him by the throat. He banged Jimin’s head against the wall hard enough to knock him out then pulled out his phone. It was 6:15.
“Namjoon, where are you?” Hobi asked when Namjoon picked up the phone.
“Downstairs by the pen. Did you get him?” Namjoon asked.
“Yeah, he’s out cold,” Hobi replied.
“Bring him down here,” Namjoon gave him directions to get down to the area in question. Hobi hefted Jimin over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes then set off downstairs.
The pen was every bit as intimidating as Jungkook had made it sound. It was smooth concrete walls about 25 feet high with razor wire on top. There were 2 guard towers on each side. The door from the hospital wing to the pen was still there.
“What do you want to do with him?” Namjoon asked.
“Let them have him,” Hobi nodded toward the group of Omegas standing about 20 feet away. There were about a dozen of them and at least 3 were visibly pregnant.
“You sure?” Namjoon asked.
“Don’t you think they earned it?” Hobi countered.
“I do. Let’s move, we’re running out of time,” Namjoon wrestled open the door to the pen and Hobi unceremoniously dropped Jimin on the cold, hard ground.
“Barricade the doors once you let them in. I don’t want him getting out,” Hobi said.
“No argument here,” Namjoon agreed. Hobi walked out and made his way up to the guard tower. This was for Yoongi. This was for Jina. This was for Jin. This was for Jungkook. This was for all the Omegas that Hobi never knew and pups who were taken from their parents. This wasn’t murder. This was justice. That’s what Hobi told himself as he climbed the stairs.
By the time Hobi got to the top, Jimin had woken up. He looked up at Hobi, but didn’t say anything. The door to the pen opened and the Omegas flooded in. Jimin didn’t even try to run. He knew it was useless. As the mob beat the life out of him, Hobi stood in the guard tower and watched. The last thing the infamous Park Jimin saw was Hobi’s emotionless face.

Mornings. Valerie had never been a morning person in her life. But she had to admit there was something extra special about that in between space before truly getting up for the day and sleep with Thomas.
(nsfw links) It was that time where lazing was okay. They weren’t going anywhere in particular. They’d been together despite the doctor’s warnings. She’d have him hold a pillow against her loose tummy so it wouldn’t hurt when she rode him from the jiggling wound as she bounced. Thomas was always so loving finding other ways to pleasure his wife. There was no holding Mrs. Laveau’s libido back when she wanted her back injured or not. Lucky man. They had fed the triplets a couple times, managed to get them to sleep again, and no rush now for a thing as the quiet settled in. The blinds were closed but she could still tell it was morning by the soft glimmer of light coming through the blinds. She knew just behind that was the beginnings of the silver thaw of her winter. She noticed the austere drizzles in the moonlight the night before.
She couldn’t help but think about what all that extra moisture would be doing to the land. Her thoughts drifted to muddy bogs and what fun that would be. They just needed a couple ATV’s again and it’d be a party. They hadn’t left for much, but Valerie still heard the rumors, got texts, saw the local weather. So many people thought it was those new, rich, folk doing something eccentric like fake snow as a ski resort would considering it seemed to politely stop so close to the property lines. The meteorologist had no explanation for the sudden but confirmed natural weather front that would show the storm on the satellite coming from the skies.
This brought back a few of those old Laveau witchy rumors from the internet. Valerie didn’t care. She didn’t plan on waltzing around announcing she was any kind of sorceress or goddess to these folks of New Zealand. She also didn’t plan on ever making herself small again to fit in. She spent a year getting acquainted with this life, but she was tired of that. If their Scouty insisted on continuing with this public school nonsense then so be it. But, if they were going to be forced to mingle with people that weren’t always of their own choosing then Valerie was done with the low key life. She thought she could handle it with just her and Thomas alone, but that’s not how all this played out. Real life took over a lovers’ self contained fantasy for the better.
Mornings were starting to grow on her.
A private moment just to admire him before hot drinks, before sun, before voices, before anything, just them.
These moments were usually kept in such silence and serene until something of the outside world demanded true waking as she remembered dreaming. Should she tell him as he suggested or just write it down? She thought she’d whisper it unsure how awake he really was. She’d still write it down. She’d write them all down always so he could keep them. She did worry she might lose it if she didn’t say it now and she didn’t want to get up from this warm wonderful space. So whisper she did.
“I dreamt of you.” She began which wasn’t always the case. So, it was rather fun to start her gift that way. “We we walking in a garden. Everything was too bright, too colorful. The flowers were all wrong. It wasn’t ugly. It was just jarringly orange and yellow. It was blinding. It wasn’t pleasant. I kept hearing Diana’s voice say ‘The girl in the yellow dress.’ it was also in unpleasant manner clear of her distaste. I said back, ‘Oh god she isn’t here is she? I should have brought the dogs.’
“Then suddenly everything was gone. That’s how dreams do sometimes. It just changes on you and it makes no sense. No garden. Just one tree in the dark. It was a big purple wisteria tree. Real flowy. Somehow lit in the middle of the darkness. You were dressed very dapper like when we go to the theater, top hat and all, but you kept looking down at me so strangely. I finally look down and I’m in this amazing yellow dress. You say, ‘I’ve never seen you in yellow before.’ I say, ‘Me either.’ Like I am also shocked not recalling putting it on myself.
“Now in real life that’s not exactly true. I have an Amy Winehouse vintage dress that’s yellow, but it’s nothing like this gown I had on, so bright. Plus, it’s not really a me go-to. You’re gawking like you’re stunned at how gorgeous I am and I’m just watching this dress blowing so flowy in the breeze just as graceful as the wisteria branches, and my long hair, hard to describe like a scene from a southern plantation, when I see Diana again in the distance. Still, the last thing I want to be is ‘the girl in the yellow dress’ considering how she says it. She looks really upset. ‘The girl in the yellow dress.’ Like it’s me. I’m the girl in the yellow dress. Weirdly, Spock brow up, you look at her through a monocle, very sexy by the way, and then cup your mouth like you’re about to holler something back at her. But the dream went black or I woke up a minute and went back to sleep or something because it was gone. I never heard what you what said. Dreams like that are sort of the weirdest because they’re almost like a story...almost. But, you never get to find out the ending.”
“So then I just lay there imagining things like why in the world would I dream that, or what you might have said, what happened next.”
She kept smoothing her hand over his beard scruffles, and around his ear, through his hair, “Now I’m never going to get this vision of dancing and picnicking under a wisteria tree all fancied up out of my head even though that’s not what happened in my dream because it looked perfectly set up to do so. Like a dream.” She giggled softly. “So it was.”
Then she’d turn with those images so vivid in her head even though the story line might not make sense. Dissecting dreams was an art, a skill her mamma taught her. She sometimes thought about the symbolism but sometimes it just ruined the beauty of the imagery in her head. Being so fluent in those “witchery” skillsets it was often hard not to see the simple language of the symbolism and pushing it away was as much of a talent and skill as making the decorative masks she wears to bottle things down. “Papa, Dr. F. He’d have a field day tearing into that one with me curled on his lap.” She had to chuckle. She couldn’t help it.

Quilcene Loop
26 June 2023
I’ve had ideas for rides in this corner of the Olympics for a long time, but it took a recent piece by Jan Heine on the Rene Herse Blog to spur my interest enough to get me out here. I picked up coffee, caught the ferry in Edmonds, and was pedaling from the Quilcene Ranger Station by 9:00. Despite what I was afraid might be a very long, grueling day of climbing, I was back to the car by 2:30. The total ascent was more than 5600’, but while the climbing was certainly hard, it was never painfully so. On the other hand, I was very happy to reach the final summit.
I rode the loop counterclockwise, which meant that the elevation ratcheted upwards in several separate climbs over more than 30 miles before the much quicker drop back to sea level at the end. The route crosses Bon Jon Pass at Mile 25, but the high point (3500’) comes later at Mile 32. All of the climbing was on gravel, while much of the descent was on pavement, which was my main rationale for doing the loop in this direction.
The downhill at the end was great, although it would have been greater had there not been an uphill segment half way down. Much of the descent is on a single-lane paved road (generally good surface, but with some big divots that require some caution), although there was an annoying section of fresh gravel near the bottom (which masked, but didn’t eliminate some nasty washboard). The final couple of miles are back on a regular two-lane road. This side would make a great climb if you simply wanted a stiff 1000+meter ascent without the longer loop (but that short gravel section would be tough on a road bike).
I saw almost no cars the entire ride. There were a few in the first and the last few miles, but that was about it, other than a few parked cars at trailheads. I stopped and chatted with one guy on an ATV who was hopelessly turned around - but I think I got him headed back in the right direction. It’s pretty easy to get lost back here. The roads aren’t marked well, the terrain is confusing, the trees are thick, and in the morning, clouds still obscured the sun. I was certainly grateful for having my route loaded on my GPS (I use RWGPS and a Wahoo Bolt) and for Gaia GPS which I use for offline maps on my phone (I also use a Garmin Messenger for tracking when I’m away from cell coverage).
The entire ride is in the trees, except for a few clear cuts and a couple borrow pits. I got a few glimpses of the surrounding hills and cliffs, occasional glimpses of Mount Townsend (the trailhead for which is near the high point of this route) and one view of Mount Constance(?) (with a large Texas camper van parked strategically in front), but it’s mainly just a lot of trees. Above 3000’, the rhododendrons start showing up in the understory.
The last time (the only other time) I was up here was in 2016 when I hiked up Mount Townsend (hshipman: Mount Townsend).

Chapter 14: Ruins of a Fallen Empire
Clicking sounds echoed in the office as I assembled and recalibrated the sight for my compound bow. It had been off-center in the few practice shots I let loose at a target. The eighty-five-pound draw weight wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.
"Damn it, and this is one of the best tools have for Cerberus." I sighed setting the sight down.
"Commander, Lupo has arrived." White queen's robotic voice spoke.
"Enter!" I called out turning to face the door.
"Commander Tabitha it's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Just call me Tabitha, Karena. How are your kids?"
"They are well. The local schools accept them no problem and they have wonderful friends." She smiled, "On to business, what do you need me and my team."
"A group of hunters went into a Cerberus infested woods it's a simple grab and tag while I handle the Cerberus near the old research base. I can't have B.O.W.s threatening guests and my mission. Does that sound like a reasonable mission for the hour?" I spoke sitting behind my modern white desk.
"Are you kidding? It has been years since we mobilized together. It will be fun." she nodded.
I smiled and extended my hand, " Then let us make this a good night with no injuries.".
Karena took my hand and an audible clap sound when they made contact, "Yes commander! Ohhh sorry, Tabitha."
We started laughing and headed down to the vehicle bay.
It was a ten-minute walk to the bay. I keep it on the main floor of the base to keep mobilization at the highest efficacy. if an outbreak happened we would mobilize to the location and be ready and at the location within the next 24 hours. That was one of the pride and joys of the Pheonix Corps. Since all employees were former Umbrella victims and associates hoping to redeem themselves. when we arrived I smiled and stared out over the command center I once called home, the safe haven from Surgei. I shook my head.
"ALRIGHT AT ATTENTION PHEONIX CORPS," I shouted out my voice echoing through the bay.
"Is that the commander?" a young female asked.
"Yes it is show some respect." an older gentleman said.
"Well it's good to see she didn't bite it in the back alleys somewhere." one of the agents chuckled.
"QUIET!!!!" Lupo shouted drawing everybody's undivided attention.
"Thank you, Karena. Greetings my Pheonix operatives, I do apologize for the hour but we have a situation so I must cut the address short. Earlier this evening five guests went into the quarantined zone near the ruins of the old umbrella base, When I arrived I heard Cerberus prowling the forest I need a silent mobilization around the border as Lupo's team and I run the rescue and extermination opp. LET'S MAKE IT A SAFE AND EFFICIENT NIGHT WITH NO CASUALTIES!" I spoke into the speaker in the collar of my combat uniform.
What I next I saw shocked me to my soul, the agents and tech operations were at attention and shouted, "UNDERSTOOD COMMANDER WESKER!!!"
my plans were slowly coming together.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Commander Tabitha!" a young tall dirty blonde man came up to me "I am agent nighthawk, Lady white queen assigned me to be your escort from henceforth."
"Ah, Welcome to my team agent hawk. I guess I'll see what you are capable of tonight." I shook the man's hand and loaded my bow onto a black and blue ATV," come on your driving".
" yes, mam."
we loaded our last bit of gear and rolled out followed by the wolf pack and three border teams. the wind was bracing as we rode out to the forest the dark was looming and horrifying for the untrained. the air slowly shifts from a crisp fresh breeze to wood rot and decay. the forest grew oppressive as we keep getting closer to the nearby ruins left by a pharmaceutical empire that destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives.
"So what's your story kid," I asked.
"Huh," hawk clicked on his earpiece "Sorry I'm hard off hearing could you repeat the question commander."
"I had asked what's your story? Why did you join Pheonix Corps?" I asked moving my mic higher up on my neck.
"Oh, there's not much to say. I was in one of Umbrella secret breeding programs. when they tried to create perfect soldiers, they wanted to make me have hawk wings or something like that." he chortled at the mentioning of the wings.
"project paradise?" I asked the young agent.
"It was project a.c.r.o.h. mam." his voice dropped, "It was started in 1987, the first family was my mom and my aunt..... I was born in mid-1988 and I had the stub of incomplete wings. I have marked a failure at birth."
"you wouldn't be here if they did. they did something to you didn't they?" I asked worriedly.
"smart lady, then when I was five they infected me with the T-Virus and injected me with hawk DNA. I grew the wings that they wanted. when I had fully grown accustomed to the wings they injected me with Prototype T vaccine and remained me under their watch until I was freed in '02. I was in the japan base till it shut down in '02 when the B.S.A.A raided the place." agent hawk smirked and sped up, " eyes up! Cerberus at ten o'clock."
"Rodger, move to its seven range," I ordered and drew my bow slowly and precisely as hawk routed us to the beast's seven o'clock range.
"All right at seven," he said.
I nod and let the bowstring loose then a steel-tipped arrow pierced thru the dog's skull and it let out so high-pitched squeal signifying its death. the pack was alerted and I drew more arrows. draw, aim and fire that's all that ran through my head as more and more beasts sped into my vision. No matter the beast's speed my shoot was fast by the time five minutes past ten beasts laid down dead clotted infected blood dripped from their mouths.
"command this is Beltway rouges have been detained and heading back on was drunk and fell in need of medical attention." a deep voice spoke.
"Alright, good work alpha team, head back to base and have medical check them all. Also, all units beware of more Cerberus their number is higher than I anticipated." I spoke with warning dripping from my voice," we need to have trained guards at the entrance for this part of the woods, a propper lockdown for the fenced-off area with the number of wolves turning into Cerberus, we have no idea what all has been infected."
Nighthawk stared out into the forest nodding in agreement," I'll handle that task force mam," he said unholstering his killer seven and shooting a charging deer straight in the head," after all I'm the best sharpshooter you got." He smirked his honey eye glowed a slight orange in the ultraviolet scanner in my vizor.
"Alright, Kid I'll give you a chance. Lupo the wolf pack will be busy from now on and agent hawk will be with you all understood," I chimed into the mic on the collar.
"UNDERSTOOD COMMANDER!!!" they shouted.
"alright head back, White queen move out the construction team and set up and repair the steel chain link fence for the quarantine zone,'' I ordered.
"yes my lady, deploying construction unit three gamma." the white queen AI said appearing on my vizor.
"Alright all units return to base," I spoke smiling.
With a resounding "right" from my teams, we headed leaving behind the ruins of a fallen pharmaceutical empire.

CANADA - YUKON
2023 July 1 (Sat) – We gave everyone a totally free day to do what they wanted. We ran some errands – got fuel and did some shopping. We drove to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. The tour bus was getting ready to leave when we arrived so we quickly paid and joined the group for a tour of the preserve. They had 4 moose (we saw one), elk, thin horn sheep, mountain goats, 2 lynx, and wood bison.
2023 June 30 (Fri) – We took a bus tour of Whitehorse this morning. I expected one 56-passenger bus but 3 12-passenger vans arrived instead. We split into groups and rode around the area for 2-1/2 hour. Whitehorse is not very spread out and we hit all the high spots.
After we got back to the campground, Paul and I hopped in the truck and went into town to do some grocery shopping. The Canadian Store wanted a dollar to take a shopping cart. We had none so we moved on to Walmart. It was a very small store with a poor selection of items. We couldn’t find several items. So, we went to the Save-on-Foods. There we picked up the rest of what we needed. We will be having a potluck barbecue tomorrow after the Canada Day festivities in town, and on July 4th in Skagway after the Independence Day festivities. In both instances, the caravan is providing the meat and the group is providing the sides.
At 6 p.m. we climbed into Johnny & Linda’s truck and rode with them to downtown Whitehorse. First stop was at the Visitor Center where they got their 3-day parking pass. Then we walked 3 blocks to the Dirty Northern Bastard, a pub. Paul and Johnny had truffle burgers, Linda had a salmon burger, and I tried an Atlantic Char. It turned out to be a meaty white fish. Very tasty. It came with fried capers. Unusual but good.
2023 June 29 (Thu) – We packed up and left Swift River at 8:00 a.m. It was 185 miles and 3 of the 5 groups wanted to stop off to see the George Johnston Museum. We saw it last time we were here so we were in the “bah, humbug” group. We pulled into the Pioneer RV Park in Whitehorse around noon. The owner was not in and had not left a voucher for how much our bill was so the clerk told me to come back tomorrow. Everybody up here is so laid back about money. Don’t worry. Pay me later when it is convenient for you. What a difference from the states where everyone wants to be paid upfront before anything.
We got the campground map, determined where to put everyone, and then parked each group as they came in. It was a little tricky because we had to determine whether they came in on the left or right side. The sides are Jack and Jill so one rig faces one direction and the one next to it faces another direction. They share the same stanchion.
We grilled some chicken-on-a-stick, made boiled potatoes, Linda provided carrots, and we enjoyed a meal with Johnny and Linda. Before dinner, a few of us gathered around the Padberg/Pepperell RV for social hour. I was pooped and went to bed at 9.
2023 June 28 (Wed) – We packed up and left Watson Lake at 9 a.m. It was only 85 miles to Swift River. It was a boring drive for half the way – mostly long, lonely roadway through forest. Then we spotted a porcupine, then a rabbit, a ptarmigan, and a chipmunk. There wasn’t the array of wildlife as there has been up to now.
Continental Divide Alpine Resort & RV Park (cough, cough) is a spot along the highway. They have about 25 sites – 15 pull thru and the rest back in. There is only 30 amp and water service. The area is dirt and gravel with a good smattering of trees. The owner, Rick Aley, couldn’t have been nicer and as helpful as could be. He kept riding by on his ATV with his dog to check on us. We got everyone in OK. We were warned to watch for a grizzly bear in the area. Many went for a hike to Rancheria Falls.
At 5 p.m., 22 folks went in to the café to eat. At 6 p.m. the second seating took place (it was a small café). After dinner, we held a travel meeting in the café.
2023 June 27 (Tue) – We went to the Northern Lights Centre for a show about the northern lights. It was kind of dry and I kept nodding off. After the show, we all went exploring around the area. We held a travel meeting next to the office on picnic tables they had there. The sun was blazing down so we made the meeting quick then gathered around our RV for happy hour.
2023 Jun 26 (Mon) – We drove 200 miles from Toad River, BC to Watson Lake in the Yukon. It was exciting with view of wood bison, caribou, and bears. Downtown RV Park was essentially a big open dirt lot with 3 rows of campsites – one on either fence and a pull thru section down the middle of the lot. The owner, Archie Tannock, had a Scottish burr and something of an attitude. We worked well together, though, and things went off with few problems. When we first pulled into the campground, Fantasy RV was also arriving with their caravan and there were motorhomes everywhere. We managed to get everything straightened out and everyone got parked fine.
Once everyone was in, we all went to the Signpost Forest. In 1942, a soldier was given the responsibility to put up a directional sign indicating how far Washington DC and other towns were from Watson Lake. Being homesick, he also stuck up a sign for his hometown. From there on, people have come from all over the world and added signs to the area. There are over 85,000 signs in the place. We put our sign up and hunted for signs from other caravans. It is a dizzying collection of signage.

Josh gave her a smirk and a knowing nod when she accepted the helmet he picked out for her. He was always more of an observer. And he had trouble sometimes voicing himself out in the gang of people, especially if he didn't know them that well. But once he got comfortable, he'd be chatty, joke around. It was easier for him to be so talkative with Nova when they were alone, but hopefully that would change soon. He did know her taste, tho, just from observing, which is why she got the helmet she did. Once she was safely on the ATV and had her arms wrapped around him, he told her to hold on tight and turned it on so they could leave the property. The ride wasn't all that long, but it was breathtaking as they rode along the beach until reaching the small wild beach he told her about. It was a small blue lagoon surrounded by high cliffs and some greenery, the sand was white and the early morning sun was shining over it, making it very pleasant to be here. "Here we are."he hummed as he got down and helped her as well. "It looks better than what I saw online... The sun is already high up, maybe we could even go for a swim?"he suggested as he grabbed his backpack and took off his shoes to let his feet feel the sand. @huntrcssqueen
Watching his movements, Nova watched his action of pulling his shirt up to reveal his skin in which she just slowly started to nod her head. ❝ Glad there are no battle scars. ❞ She joked with a slight laugh. She knew this morning she had a slight red mark on her face but nothing that stayed for longer than a couple of minutes while she brewed her coffee to wake herself up more. After she finished getting ready and made her way back to meet up with Josh, she looked at the helmet as she extended her hand to take it. ❝ Look at that, already knowing my taste in attire. ❞ She hummed as she was glad it wasn't this bright pink neon colour, it was darker and suited her a lot more than unicorns and rainbows. Her hand slapped down onto his as she hopped her leg over the back to seat herself before her arms wrapped around his chest. ❝ Alright, let's see this place. ❞

Warning: mention of blood. Death is the theme.
Being woken up by a banging on your front door, almost gave you a heart attack. Lee wasnt able to come home so you just went back to your house. He said he'll come over there after he's finished. But as you got up you saw it was morning.
"Hang on. I'm coming". You groan, wrapping yourself up in one of Lee's hoodies.
"Y/N"? You heard John say through the door. Something must be wrong for him to be here.
Quickly opening the door. "What is it? What's wrong John"? You felt you heart beat faster. A lump in your throat formed.
"It's Lee. He's missing".
"What..what do you mean he's missing? How do you lose someone on a horse when you're supposed to be there with them John? John"? You felt that lump break as your lip started to tremble.
"Everything happened so fast, Y/N. But we have choppers and my guys out there looking. We'll find him".
"I'm coming with you". You ran off to your room and threw on some pants and your boots. Grabbed your gun and headed out to your truck. You followed John to the Dutton ranch. Cops, horses, men and atvs littered the property.
"Go to Jamie. He'll keep you informed". John didn't wait for you to get out of the truck, he told you at your window and walked off.
Taking a shakey breath you stepped out. You could feel something in the air had changed. You didnt know what but something wasn't right.
Jogging over to Jamie, he was on the phone. "Jamie, what can I do"?
"Nothing. Everyone has it covered. Why don't you go into the house and talk to Beth". Jamie redirecting you to the house. This family and keeping its secrets.
You went inside as you were told. Beth sat at the kitchen window watching outside.
"How are you holding up"? She asked. Beth knew how much you loved Lee and he would talk to her about you all the time.
"I'm okay. I just dont understand how he could be lost. Lee knows this land better than the back of his own hand. He knows how to track and find his way home". You leaned up against the counter beside her.
"I know. But a lot of stuff happened last night. Cattle was involved".
"So were guns. What if he's out there with a gunshot wound bleeding to death and I'm sitting on my ass waiting". You started to hyperventilate. Beth pulled you into a hug, rubbing your back.
"He's going to be okay. My brother is a smart man. He can get through anything". Beth whispered in your ear. While there was commotion outside. You both heard a horse being rode up to the house. You both ran outside and saw it was Kayce, blood covered his white shirt.
"Kayce! Where's Lee? Kayce". You yelled, running up towards him. His face was red and tears rolled down his face.
"I'm sorry". Kayce sobbed as Jamie helped him down. Jamie took him into the house.
You looked out through the crowd of stuff and saw John with a horse. A body laid over the satel.
"Lee! No! Lee!". You went to run after John but Beth held you as you fell to the ground. You tried getting out of her grip but your body was numb. If felt like your heart was ripped out and someone stuck a hot poker on the wound. "No, god". Sobbing into Beth's shoulder, you couldnt move. You didn't even feel it when Rip picked you up and carried you into the house. Life as you know it was taken away from you.
John arranged the funeral quickly. Kayce wasnt talking to anyone. Jamie couldn't shut up and Beth felt like your only friend. The day of the funeral, you stayed in Lee's room the whole time. Not wanting to talk to anyone. You were tired of the I'm sorry for your loss. The he was such a good man. You know what he was. No one had to tell you otherwise.
"Here's some tea". Beth whispered, startling you as you looked at the pictures of Lee and you.
"No, thank you". You declined and sat on the edge of Lee's bed. His room was left the way you last saw it. Dirt on the rug from his boots. His dirty clothes still in the clothes basket. His bed messed up.
"You have to eat something, to keep your strength". Beth sat the cup down on the nightstand.
"He's really gone, isn't he"? Taking your used tissue and wiped the corner of your eyes. "Like I'm waiting for him to come through the door and start flinging his clothes off and jumping into bed. Even though he smells horrible". You softly laugh but began to sob. "I miss that fucking smell". You sniffled.
"I know. I think everyones waiting for him to come home". Beth sighs and sits beside you.
"I can't do this Beth. I can't". You start to feel panick and your throat feels tight. You've never been a day without seeing or talking to Lee since you both got together. He was your morning call and your good night call.
"Yes, you can. Just breathe. He wouldn't want you to feel this way". She wraps her arms around you as you sobbed. She tried to be tough but she broke down with you.
"I miss him so much". You mumble against her.
"I know, baby. Shh, I know. Everythings going to be alright". Beth held you for the longest time. Not letting go.
A few weeks had passed and you haven't stepped foot on the ranch. It was hard. So many memories and the unforgettable moment that your life changed. But you had to go back. John invited you over to get somethings of Lee's to take with you. It was going to be a rough day.
"Hey sweetheart". John met you at the door and grabbed you into a hug.
"Hi, John".
"Come in. We're all in the living room. Beth got somethings for you that she knew Lee would want you to have".
Following John into the livingroom, things havent changed, except Lee's door was closed. It was always opened, Lee didn't have anything to hide.
"Glad you came". Beth greeted you with a hug.
"Me too". You took a seat on the couch.
"I got all the photos of you and Lee. I know you probably have them but I figured you would like them. He wrote on the backs of them". Beth handed you a box of photographs. You picked on up and read the back.
"The first time she let me touch her boobs on the mountain". Lee wrote about your hiking trip three years ago. You let out a giggle.
Picking up another. "The first time I realized I wanted to marry this girl". It was a picture with you sitting on the riverbank with a fishing pole and a small little fish, a big smile on your face when you first started dating.
"I can't believe he wrote about me on every one that we took". You felt hot tears stream down your cheeks.
"There good memories to have. They would've been good to tell the kids". John stopped himself and cleared his throat.
"Yeah, they will be". You looked down at the box. Everyones eyes on you.
"What are you saying, honey"? Beth couldn't help but smile.
"I'm pregnant. Six weeks. I guess we already had a start on our dozen kids". You laughed with a sob.
"Oh, honey". Beth hugged you as you sat there. Jamie chuckled. John stood there speechless.
"Do..do you know what it is"? John asked swallowing his tears.
"Not yet. I have a feeling it's a girl. Lee wanted a girl first. Lee always got what he wanted when it came to me". You chuckle.
"We can see that". Jamie joked making everyone cry laugh.
"We're here for you. Dont have to worry about anything". John wiped his face.
"Thanks. I'm going to need it. I'll be raising a Dutton child. And who else better on how to raise them than the Duttons theirselves".
"We're family. There's no one else". John smiled at you. You thought about Lee and how his legacy and life will live on through his child and his photographs.

BTS In The Soop (Season 2)
I don’t know how other fans have been feeling about ITS s2, but, personally, I’m not the biggest fan. I enjoy watching the episodes, but I also feel a bit indifferent towards the series as a whole. I think part of the reason why is that it airs on JTBC. I felt this with s1 as well, but BTS almost don’t feel like BTS. We see them be playful and touchy with each other, but it also feels like their playfulness, silliness and skinship is toned down a lot. If we think about Run BTS, Bangtan Bombs, BTS Episodes, Memories footage, vlives, etc. they paint a different picture of BTS. Even when we have longer footage of them, their intimacy is obvious. In ITS, their closeness is there, of course, but overall they feel more distant from each other than usual, and I feel a bit distant from them as a result.
For example, we saw from the teasers and the official pics that Jikook rode the ATV together, and worked out together, and JK gave JM a massage. Why is that content not in the episodes? We have Taekook riding the ATV together, so I can understand that Jikook doing it would feel repetitive. Pls do not think I’m making this a Taekook vs. Jikook thing. Under no circumstances am I doing that. What I mean to say is that certain footage can’t air if it’s just a repetition of what we’ve seen already, but most of the episodes are pretty much an eating show.
Jikook working out is something the fans would’ve loved to see; BTS playing games together like in Run is something that fans would’ve loved to see. Yet every time they play sports we only get to watch a fraction of it... Instead, we get a lot of footage of them cooking and eating. I know fans like to watch BTS cook, but isn’t it a bit excessive? An episode is supposed to represent a day, but half of the episode are the few hours they spend in the kitchen. I personally got bored watching this last episode (episode 4) because they all had lunch separately and we watched all of them make their food and eat it. I would’ve loved to have seen more of BTS playing volleyball, or Vminkook’s ridiculous challenge, or OT7 watching the Olympics.
My point is that I doubt ITS would be edited like this if it weren’t airing on JTBC. We’d probably be getting more OT7 content in that case. But since this is a family friendly show, as it often happens when BTS makes content more geared toward the Korean GP, we get a cooking show.
Also, I know Jin is just chilling and playing games - and good for him for relaxing and not caring about being entertaining - but I miss him! I feel like he’s barely in the episodes, and he interacts very little with the other members. It almost feels like he’s not in BTS. I know he’s always playing games, but Jungkookie watched him play for a bit, and I would’ve liked to have seen more of that. We’ve barely gotten any Jinkook interaction so it would’ve been nice to have seen JK cheer for Jin or something.
Lastly, the editing is so fucking weird. We literally watched Jin go to bed, yet a second later he was watching the Olympics with the other guys, and Jimin got freshened up twice. From what I understood, they played volleyball and ate, then OT7 watched the Olympics, then Jin went to bed and Jimin got freshened up, and then some of the members watched more of the Olympics. But the editors decided to show all the footage of the boys watching the Olympics at once, so they showed Jin going to bed and Jimin going to wash himself up before showing them watch the Olympics, and then later we saw Jimin talk about washing himself again...
Again with Jikook, in the second episode they played tennis with JHope, and afterwards, according to the official pics, they must’ve ridden the ATV together before Jimin went to their PC room and JK chose to work out. In the episode we only see them play tennis, then Jimin and JK reappear wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath their loose t-shirts. But while JK begins his workout wearing his long-sleeved shirt, by the time he finishes working out he’s not wearing it anymore, which indicates, to me, that whatever use he had for that shirt he fulfilled before working out (meaning, when Jikook rode the ATV together, probably). But why not show that footage? It would only have taken a minute, and we wouldn’t have been confused by Jikook putting on an undershirt for apparently no reason. Weird editing once more.

Day 66 9/1/2021
Greetings blog readers. Ray here! Today was pretty hectic but super fun.
In the morning, I did the weather and went to the runway to take the wind and saw a bunch of Blacktip sharks hanging around at the end of the runway. Due to the heavy rains, a lot of freshwater has been entering the ocean particularly at this point because there are channels built on either side of the runway that flow into the ocean after big rains. This has been bringing a lot of nutrients to this particular spot and is a reason I think a lot of sharks and fish have been attracted to this area. So I sat there for a while just watching and there were probably about eight sharks hanging out, hunting, and just doing shark things. It was really fun to watch! After that, we had our community day (every Wednesday)so I headed over to the solar field which is basically just a bunch of solar panels on a flat concrete block. We scrubbed them with soap and water to get the mold off and made sure they were spic and span so that they can continue to bring us clean energy. Then, Dada had a bio security chat with Allie to go over protocols for going on the refuge and I got us ready for our adventure in the afternoon.
Before lunch, we set out to snag our mosquito catches from our three sites on Cooper. We drove the ATV up the runway and got our catches from one of the COCOs site and the HEFO site. Then we drove back grabbed our bikes and rode along North Beach which is an alternate route to get our other COCOs site. Due to all the rain, it was crazy getting over there. There was a ton of water that flooded the road and lots of mud so we powered through, got super muddy and we’re super tired by the end of it haha. When we got to that site, our trap did not want to come down. Uh oh! This was not ideal for obvious reasons and we think the rain may have caused added tension so we left it and headed to lunch to problem solve. Talking with Katie, we decided that the trap could stay up there for the night since we wanted to prioritize going to Bird Island to check on our Christmas Shearwater game camera. We also were just really excited to go and see if there’a any evidence of nesting. This is one of my favorite things we do!
After lunch we got all ready and headed to Strawn to collect our catches and we also changed out our SD cards in the cameras of our two separate attraction sites that are at the tip of Strawn. One is a bird caller and one is a decoy colony. This was really fun because it’s a great view of the atoll and we saw a lot of baby tiny sharks. I swear the sharks probably came out of the womb very recently. Then we headed back to station, quickly docked, put on our bio security clothes and headed to Bird Island.
Since we had gone to Strawn the day before, I had Dana drive the lagoon boat and I drove the boat to Bird Island since it is “tier 2” boating and Dana hasn’t trained for that yet. It was both very exciting and nerve-racking since I have only gone through these cuts a few times on my own, but I was really excited to get more practice. Navigating through the channels and dodging Corals went very smoothly and we anchored just off of Bird, walked to shore, and got ready for our Christmas Shearwater reconnaissance mission.
When we arrived, we made sure to be very stealthy, grabbed our binoculars, and crawled under the trees to make sure we didn’t flush our precious pair. At first I thought I saw one of them under a palm frond that we had seen them previously, but turns out it was a little shorebird. A Golden Pacific plover. Since we didn’t see them, we decided to get closer and examine the area. We confirmed that there is a masked booby nest nearby which we suspected from our last visit but weren’t sure if it was an active nest. We were a little concerned that this could mean the Christmas Shearwater pair would not want to nest here, but we did see potential evidence of a scraping or a nest under one of the palm fronds. Hopefully it is the Christmas Shearwater pair practicing or starting to make a nest. After examining the area a little further, we were amused by a large group of masked boobies perched on a large log. There were about 15 of them!! As we were walking to the boat, a very large blacktip came right at me and I really thought that it was going to take a nibble but it got startled, bolted off and we rushed back to the boat and hopped in as quickly as we could. After that, we headed back to station and I don’t mean to toot my own horn but I docked the boat beautifully. It was textbook.
Since we got back pretty close to the end of the workday, we decided to wait to look at our game camera photos and save those for the next day.
Alsooooo I haven’t been great about updating you on what I’ve been eating but trust me when I say we have been eating good! The new galley guys really know how to bake some bread. I’m talking chickpea sloppy Joe’s and homemade sesame buns. It was insane. They have done a great job feeding us reallllllyyy good food and just making the most delicious bread and rolls. Bread making is hard enough. And they’re doing it on a hot atoll. It just really blows my mind.
I’m not exactly sure what I did in the evening but I’m sure it was just more drawing of my sharks. They are taking me quite a bit of time.
Goodnight!
So many sharks at the end of the runway! I counted 7.
Hi!
Sharkies and a blue fin trevally at the end of the runway.
More photos in the next post!

Green Eyes
Loki x Human!Oblivious!Reader
Synopsis: You were trying to figure out the man that laid in front of you. He was anything but human, but you didn't know what he was yet. He spoke of banishment and a brother who he hated, and quickly, you fell for the green-eyed stranger called Loki in a barn surrounded by thunderstorms and a villain lurking about.
PS: The reader is oblivious to the Avengers and I’m putting this as sometime after Thor but before Avengers. So that little sliver of time where the Avengers aren't around and the reader can be 100% clueless about ‘aliens’. Also, Loki in the comics has Green eyes, so don't @ me. XOXO. This was lowkey my favorite Loki fic I have written, so go easy ;). Also if you aren't American and more importantly Midwestern, you may be confused by some things. It’s okay, I, as a midwesterner, understand you and am also confused. I will tell you that if you don’t know something go ahead and look it up! The pictures will help :) OKAY, BACK TO IT!
Song: American Money (Away Remix) by BORNS (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dovRfPNl80w)
It was a cloudy day in the little Illinois town that you called home. No more than 500 people meant that little things such as fire trucks going out and a cop pulling a person over were talked about like it was the biggest thing that ever happened in the boring town. You didn't like it though. In fact, you quite hated the little town that you had to call home. Most times, you found yourself in the middle of a cornfield, especially when it was about to rain. Your father being a farmer meant you had free range over the 100 acres that your family owned. You took advantage of that fact. There were 100′s of acres to get lost in and disassociate for a couple of hours. Instead of a farmers girl, you were a superhero and even though superheroes didn't exist, it still made you feel special for once. You looked up at the clouds that got darker and darker the more you walked. The feel of the sharp soil under your naked toes brought comfort as you ran your fingers along the tall cornstalks leaves. There was a drought going on where you lived and the soil felt like the sand of a dessert. Dry and sharp. Yet it still brought comfort. Light exploded in the dark cloud and your eyebrows crinkled together in confusion. This wasn't like any lightning you saw. It came down quickly, light never once fading like a meteorite would after entering the atmosphere. It lit up the acres like a flashlight and the speed of it broke the sound barrier as it barreled towards you. You screeched as it got closer before ducking down into the corn, covering your head and hoping it would miss. The object slammed into the ground 100 feet from you and the dusty soil flew up and fell all around you. (I was there when you fell from the clouds). You stood up incredulously, eyes wide and mouth agape as you looked at all the cornstalks that fell down due to the sound wave that followed the collision. You could see the figure, and realized quickly it was no meteorite.
It was a person.
You walked closer to it, scared that it would harm you. (And landed in the desert). The desert-like surroundings making you feel like you were far from home. Far from the normal thunderstorms and far from normalcy. (There was a thunder inside of my heart). Your heart hammered around like thunder the closer you got. Finally, you got to the figure and used your foot to nudge his shoulder. This caused it to lean forward before falling onto its back. You jumped and squealed in fear, but quickly calmed down seeing that he was not awake. “Are you dead?” you whispered to no one in particular as you knelt and ran a hand down his face. Your eyebrows crinkled as you saw blue appear from under his pale skin the minute your fingers touched it. Your heart hammered harder as you sat down cross-legged into the dirt. Something about that touch made you hungry as if you wanted to touch him more. (There was a wonderful pleasure). You thought about leaving him there and calling the police, but then you had a better idea. Your parents weren't home for a couple of days, so what would be the harm of taking this stranger in. Sure he fell from the sky, but he couldn't be a villain...
Could he?
You had managed to get onto an old Four-Wheeler that your father had in the barn only a half a mile away from where the man laid. You were hoping and praying he wouldn't have disappeared as you drove through the corn quickly. Your heart relaxed when you saw him still laying there, either soundly sleeping or knocked out cold. You stopped the ATV before swinging off of it and walking over to him. You brushed away the thoughts of your father possibly killing you once he found out you brought a greasy looking man into your little farmhouse, but what he didn't know didn't hurt him.
Right?
You managed to pull him up onto the back of the Four-Wheeler where you would normally lay hay or other farm equipment that you had to take to your father who was in the middle of a field. You heard thunder overhead and looked up in angst. Feeling a raindrop hit your nose, you climbed back on and took off. All while holding the man's arm to make sure he was still there and not about to fall off. (And like a stallion racing the rain). The rain began to fall harder and you raced faster and faster to get back to the barn. If your dad didn't find out about the man, he would certainly know about all of the corn you were ruining. (You rode on the back of my bike). You looked back to make sure he was alright and were relieved to see him still asleep, but a little more lively as he winced at the bumps. (I knew from the song that you sang). The thunder rumbled in your ears as the rain began to soak you to the bone. (You were my lover for life). You pulled up and into the barn just in time as the wind picked up and the trees blew violently. Putting the ATV in park and shutting it off, you flew off it and ran to the banging barn door. Grabbing it, you slid it shut so that there was a barrier between you and the wicked thunderstorm that rumbled outside. Instantly, you were enveloped in silence, other than of course, the occasional whistle of the wind outside. You clutched onto the barn door, the soft glow of the lights above giving you warmth and sense of security that you needed. You always hated thunderstorms. They were violent and deadly. Something you always hated. You let out a small exhale before turning towards the ATV, but your breath caught in your throat at the sight of the empty ATV. (Oh, there's no time to sleep). You felt frozen in fear and had to physically force yourself out of the trance to go a step forward. Looking around the barn, the mysterious man was nowhere in sight. You walked over towards the ATV in pure distress. (Oh, living in a dream). Did you dream that? Did you disassociate from the real world into your fantasy dream, and dream him up? You grabbed your head in confusion, you had never done that before. (So take me to the paradise). You exhaled in disbelief before backing away from the Four-Wheeler. “I’m just imagining things. Yes, imagining things. He wasn't real... Ha ha ha so funny.....” you tried so hard to laugh it off and act like it wasn't a big deal, but it was. You dreamed up a man, a man that could bring you some sort of paradise to your boring life. You hit a wall, and your blood ran cold at the impact. There was never a wall here.
“Oh I am very real darling” the voice whispered in your ear, causing you to take a sharp intake of air before whirling around and facing the man awake and towering over you. (It's in your eyes). You knew you should have been afraid of him. But his eyes. They were blueish green, but his green outfit made them greener than they were blue. They took your breath away and seemed to calm you down at the same time. The green in them reminded you of the money you had in your back pocket. (Green like American money). The American currency to you was never beautiful. That was until you met this man. Your eyes went to his lips, pink and plump. (You taste just right). You began to wonder what he tasted like. Did he taste like the Sweet Tea that was mixed with honey from Tennessee that your father got every spring? (Sweet like Tennessee honey). Did he taste like the sweet corn you would have in the summer? Did he taste like the pumpkin pie your mom made on Thanksgiving? Or, did he taste like the mint that was infused in the candy canes you handed out at Christmas time as the white snow fell around you? What did he taste like? More importantly.
WHY WERE YOU STARING?!
Your eyes shot up to his eyes once more, cheeks bright red as you saw a knowing smirk on his lips. He knew you were staring... (And we can run away). You wanted to run away right then and there, but you couldn't move. You dripped with cold late summer rain, and it felt like you just got out of a swimming pool. (Swimming in the sunlight every day). Except, you didn’t have the sun to warm you after the cool dip into the water. All you had was his intense gaze that made you feel like a lobster being boiled alive. He was far from the sun... He made things 10x hotter. (Paradise, it's in your eyes). Yet, in the dim lights, his green eyes added a coolness that made you feel safe and secure. You were confused as to why though. He was a stranger, if anything, you should be running from him. His sharp features and height should have sent you running as they screamed arrogant and dangerous. (Green like American money). But his eyes, his eyes spoke of something different. They were soft and careful as if he didn't want to scare you away. His lips must have moved because his eyebrows shot up incredulously. “Sorry what” you whispered out as you shook yourself from your trance.
He chuckled lightly, the smile reaching his eyes before looking to the side. “I said that you had a staring problem, but you were staring at me too hard to hear it” he teased before looking back at you. Your cheeks reddened more and he rolled his eyes playfully before walking away from you to look at the barn. You stood there, looking at the ground in confusion before turning swiftly to watch him walk. (So we took to the Calico road). He left you in a stupor like no one else ever could do before. You wanted to get answers from him, and since the rain was the way that it was outside. This was a perfect time to take the road less traveled and get the explanations you needed. Simple explanations. Like who he was, where he's from... WHY HE FELL FROM THE FREAKING SKY?!
(Running from the weather). “Are you going to ask questions or do I have to do all the talking love?” He spoke up, once more drawing you from your thoughts. Following his words was a great big flash of lightning and some thunder, causing him to look at the roof in slight fear. “Afraid of lightning?” you blurted out. You mentally cursed yourself for allowing your first question to be whether he was afraid of lightning like you were. The thunder never scared you as much as the lightning, but you always blamed it on the thunder anyway. “Way to go Y/n” you whispered to yourself as you slammed your palm against your head. “I am not...” he started as he looked back at you with confused eyes, “But I’m not too overly fond of what follows...” This caused your head to cock in confusion as you let your hand fall from your face. (There was a highway inside of her eyes). He pinpointed that he was on Midgard, only because most of the beings on this wretched planet acted like you. Trembling and pesky little things, yet, you seemed different. Your e/c eyes were bright under the lights of the barn and it, for some reason, made his heart rate pick up a little every time he looked at you. It was as if you were similar to other humans but different in more ways than you were ever similar. You were nervous on the outside but strong in your heart. He could tell that by just the way you were standing, shaking in fear but still holding your ground. (There was a buried treasure). To him, there was a treasure inside of you, something he would dig for and end up getting if he tried. The thing was though, was that he didn't even know you. Yet at this moment, he felt like he only knew you. Like his brother didn't matter and all that mattered was you. Midgardians, he scoffed to himself, but he didn't realize it was out loud.
“Midgardians?” you questioned, causing him to freeze in fear of saying too much. You were clearly someone who did not know about the other worlds, and he wanted to spare you that pain of knowing too much. He wishes he could go back when he didn't know too much. Like before he knew he was a frost giant and that his ‘father’ was a liar and a kidnapper. None of that mattered though. (And we got caught in the storm). Lightning flashed once more and a large clap of thunder followed, causing you to scream and cover your ears in fear. His head cocked as he walked over to you, cautiously so as not to spook you further. “Are you alright darling?” he questioned softly as he reached out a hand to your arm, but stopped at the thought of you seeing him as he truly was. (You started flying a kite). “Just afraid of some storms is all” you whimpered out as you adjusted yourself and walked over to the door to look out. The rain started to pour harder than you thought possible and you knew you’d be stuck there for a few hours. (At the end was the key to my heart). He was playing a dangerous game giving out his heart like this. He was Loki, Laufeyson. God of Mischief. He was no man of comfort. His skin was as cold as his heart and he could not fall for a Midgardian woman. Nonetheless, one he met only minutes ago.
And yet here he was. (You were my lover for life).
He thought he was going crazy as he approached you once more. “I don't know your name,” he whispered out shakily. It felt like he wasn't in control of his tongue or body, otherwise, he would have left you and never said a word. You turned your head a little, contemplating whether to tell him your name or not. Your father's lectures ran through your head on repeat about stranger danger and what not to do in situations like this...
But you broke too many rules already, so why stop now.
“Y/n” you stated firmly before turning and looking at him sternly. Part of you was offended that he was asking the questions around here since you were the one deserving the answers. “That's a beautiful name” he whispered out sweetly nearly causing your knees to buckle and for you to lose your composure. You quickly fixed it and crossed your arms to remain strong. “And yours?” You pressed finally finding your voice. He chuckled lowly before turning to the side and walking towards some farm equipment. “Loki. Previously OdinSon. Now LaufeySon. God of Mischief.” He stated proudly as he turned to look at you cockily hoping to see your disbelief. But you just looked confused.
“Who?” you asked with crinkled brows and a frown set into your forehead. His cool composure fell and he realized you were clueless. “Loki... Never heard of me?” he pressed causing you to shake your head childishly. He sighed before coming up with an idea, “How about I tell you about myself and where I am from... will that help?” he asked sweetly. You nodded softly and he opened his mouth to begin his long story. (Oh, there's no time to sleep).
It took a long time to get through his story, but by the time he was done, it felt like you were in a dream. (Oh, living in a dream). He was a fantastic storyteller, but it didn't explain who he truly was and why he fell from the sky. He looked at you with a big smile after he was finished and was pleased to see your dazed look. “That story was amazing, you should write a book about it,” you said innocently, causing his smile to falter and his arms to drop from their ‘ta-da’ position. “I’m a God you Midgardian, how hard is that to understand” he growled frustratedly but calmed himself when he saw you cringe back in fear at his outburst. You fell silent and looked at your hands in embarrassment. “Sorry?” You questioned after looking back up at him. He sighed before rubbing his face and walking towards you quickly. You flinched but he pulled a bucket in front of you and sat down on it. (So take me to the paradise). He grabbed your hand and it made your heart stop as the coldness made the hairs raise on your arms.
“I’m a God, the God of Mischief to be exact. I can do magic and many people call me a witch, but really, it's just my mother who is a witch, not me.” He stated softly as he turned your hand over so that your palm was up. He moved his finger down the skin of your palm and a glow followed his finger, causing your eyes to widen as you looked up at him. (It's in your eyes). His green eyes were illuminated in the glow that was on your palm. (Green like American money). “This can’t be real” you whispered as you searched his eyes for any sign that this was fake, that you were passed out somewhere in the field and this was all a dream. A very realistic and beautiful dream. (You taste just right). His face was close to yours, and once again, you wondered how he tasted. (Sweet like Tennessee honey). Was he sweet like the words he spoke? Or was he sour like the way he walked? The rain had stopped, causing you both to look up at the ceiling in pure relief. “I’m very real” he whispered as he stood and drug you up with him. Your bodies were close together and you looked down at your shoes in discomfort. He let go of your hand just then and you stepped away afraid you made him feel bad. “Someones here” he whispered out before walking past you and towards the door. “Probably my aunt” you called out before turning around and walking towards him. “Nothing to-” an explosion outside caused you both to fly back, his arms wrapped around your body and protected you both from the explosion and the impact of the fall that followed. Your skull cracked onto the hard ground and you moaned out in pain as his grip around you loosened.
“Not my aunt” you whispered out shakily as your head began to spin and you sat up to see a man dressed in all black approach you both. “Definitely not my aunt-” but you were cut off once more by Loki lifting you up and putting you onto your feet. “RUN” he screamed in your face as you backed away shakily finally seeing the gigantic blade the thing was holding. (And we can run away). You took 3 steps back before tripping on some rubble, typical of you but luckily you caught yourself and took off. You ran out of what would be the back of the barn and into the corn. (Swimming in the sunlight every day). Sweat poured down you as the sun that was now out beat down onto your poor body. Your mind was spinning still and you stumbled quite a bit. Reaching an opening, you heard laughing all around you, causing you to spin around in anguish. (Paradise, it's in your eyes). You just wanted him and his calm eyes. The one person that you only met hours ago, seemed to be the only one to calm you down now. “WHO ARE YOU?!” you screamed out before a figure emerged. (Green like American money).
“Loki” you whispered out exasperatedly before running forward and grasping him in a hug. Looking up at him with teary eyes, you thanked him over and over for protecting you, but then you realized something. His eyes...
They weren’t green.
“Who are you” you whispered before pushing out of the strangers grasp. He chuckled, it first sounded like Loki but suddenly morphed into a deeper tone that sounded demonic. (We carved our love in the mountainside). “You were never apart of the plan... But I’m happy you are now, human” it snarled as it got closer and closer to you. You stumbled while backing up and your head slammed into the rock below, only making the spinning worse. (We soaked our hearts in the rain). The mud-stained your clothes and caked your hair and you felt like you were paralyzed. “Who are you” you whimpered out as it leaned down and ran its long finger down your neck. “it's not who I am that matters... Its who I work for that does” He hissed lowly before standing up fully and smiling at you sickeningly.
You began to go in and out of consciousness, and you weren't sure if you would feel death or not. Would it hurt? Would it be fast? The thing raised its staff down at you and you closed your eyes, praying to pass out before it happened. “I’ll do it” was the last thing you heard before you were out like a light. Not knowing whether or not it was death that consumed you but you knew one thing for sure. That voice. It was Loki’s voice. That was the last thing you heard. (And I, waited my whole life, for you). Somehow, you were okay with his voice being the last thing you would ever hear. You just wished his eyes were the last thing you ever saw.
Your e/c shot open and you inhaled sharply before sitting up quickly. You winced in pain before grabbing your head as the world spun around you. You balanced yourself before looking up slowly, jumping a little at the sight of Loki sitting at the end of your bed. His back was facing you and while he had a weirdly shaped helmet on his head, you knew it was him from all of the green. (So take me to the paradise). “Loki?” you whispered out softly, hoping it would make him move, but if anything, it made him go more rigid. His bouncing leg stopped and he looked forward into the mirror to look at you in it. Your face, it was so sweet and precious. You were innocent, and now, you were a weapon against him. “I’m so sorry for what I have done” he whispered out, still staring intently at you in the mirror. His green eyes took your breath away once more and his words sent a chill down your spine. (It's in your eyes). “You did nothing wrong Loki? That... That thing was not your fault-”
“No, but my following actions were” he pressed as he turned and looked you straight on. Your breath caught in your lungs at the piercing color that made you melt and fall in love. (Green like American money). He was someone you just met, but you couldn't help the feeling. The feeling that all of this was meant to happen. “God works in mysterious ways” you whispered out causing him to chuckle darkly and shake his head at you. He leaned forward before pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. (You taste just right). You were right, he did taste perfect. Like honey that you stirred in your hot tea. (Sweet like Tennessee honey). He tasted as sweet as his words. He pulled away and looked at you painfully. He grew to care for you and you would forever be his little human. His Midgardian. Which is why he had to go. (And we can run away). “I have to go little human” he whispered out sadly as you grabbed for his hand anxiously. “We can run from this, I know we barely know each other, but I don't want you to leave me” you whispered shakily as you searched his eyes for something, anything. You felt adventure with him. You felt love when with him. For once in your life, you weren't bored. You only knew each other for less than a day, but less than a day is enough to decide who you wanna spend your life with. He shook his head before lifting your hand and pecking your knuckles softly. “I’ll keep you safe... I promise...” he whispered once more before using the staff he was holding to form a portal. You looked at him shakily but didn't make a move to stop him. He stepped through, leaving you in your bed. Feeling alone once more.
(Swimming in the sunlight every day). He stood there, the Other walking around and proclaiming how he would help by leading the Chitauri in taking over the earth. His brain was swimming with worrying thoughts, but he knew that if he followed through, you’d be safe. He closed his eyes, thinking over your face, your beautiful and innocent face. You didn't look at him like he was a God, and for some reason, he liked that. (Paradise, it's in your eyes). He found comfort in the image of your eyes. Eyes that held stories about your life. Stories he wished he could learn, but he wouldn’t be selfish when it came to you. Opening his eyes, he looked at the Other sternly. “You won't harm her, will you?” Loki pressed as the Other walked past him silently, thinking through his answer.
“Only if you follow through” the Other snarled as he walked behind him and continued on with his speech of how you will be safe as long as Loki does his job. Otherwise, you were as safe as dead. Loki nodded, wishing he never met you. Wishing his green eyes didn’t tempt you. (Green like American money). He was happy he met you for selfish reasons, but meeting you caused so much headache and pain for him. Now he couldn't protect you, the one thing he truly loved. And that killed him more than saying goodbye.
Part 2?? IDK let me know :)

Wednesday, December 12th, Kat Buys a Farm.
As some of you know, we like to post our stories in a chronological order. Spring semester got busy for us and unfortunately, a story was delayed in being posted. Now that school is back in and school isn’t too crazy at the moment, I am trying to post stuff I’ve had written for a while, but wasn’t posted for sake of keeping things in order. The previous story was Kat’s story about my all girls birthday/slumber party. This story takes place a week and a half later just as our finals week was wrapping up. She or I might have mentioned in one of the stories from our Thanksgiving break about being out on the horses and running into their neighbors that own the farm on their northern property line.
For those interested, this update is about the Wednesday, December 12th and I’m writing while we were on Winter break, visiting Kat’s parents. Many stories, I write down lots of details while they are fresh in my mind and go back to flesh out the story when I have time. This is just in case you wonder why I talk in past tense some times during stories.
For those who don’t know, Kat’s parents own a huge horse farm. Kat and Rick are also listed as part owners and employees of the family company. During our Thanksgiving break, we were on the farm. One day we went out for a ride on a couple of the horses. We were riding along a trail to the northern edge of the property and we saw a couple on ATV’s near the fence line and we rode up to check things out. It was the couple who owns the farm to the north of the property and they were only out inspecting the property line because they were getting ready to sell. They hadn’t lived on the property for the last 2 years, opting for something closer to civilization. As I’ve said before. The Closest neighbor is 8 miles away, and the house is up a 2 miles long private drive. Their house is only about 3 or 4 miles north, but since the house was vacant, there were no neighbors within 8 miles. We talked to them for a few minutes and Kat was asking questions about their farm and their kids, she went to school with them and remembered them on the bus and how they used to come across the fence and swim in one of the lakes. She asked about the Stream/Creek on their property and they said it was still flowing nicely after all these years. She asked about the house, the house is in great shape for being vacant for a few years. Then Kat gave them her number and said she’d talk to her parents. They said great since they hadn’t officially put it on the market yet and would prefer a private sale to avoid a real estate agents fee which can get pretty high when dealing with farms. Kat asked permission to check it out the next day when we had more time and daylight. They said “Sure and that they wouldn’t be there but it would be fine. Then they passed Kat a spare key to the house. On the way back to the house, Kat talked about how beautiful their place was and how she used to go over to play with their little girl when she was younger. She told me it would be awesome to add that to the farm. Around this time last year, her parents bought the slightly larger farm on their western property line and now, there was a farm slightly smaller than their original farm on the northern property line, and Kat wanted to tell her parents about it, she wanted them to put in an offer to buy it. We got back to the farm that evening and Kat mentioned it to her father who told her that he knew the place, but wasn’t sure about buying it. He wanted her to give him good, solid reasons why they should buy it. Since Kat is taking some Business administration classes, she decided she’d come up with a quick “proposal” for the purchase. She went through all the costs and fees, yearly taxes, advantages to having the extra land. She even listed reason against, just to be fair and show her father that she was seriously thinking through on all the angles. Tuesday before Thanksgiving, she actually made an appointment with him to meet in his office, a quarter of a mile from the house, in the stable barn. She gave her little proposal, they talked it over and he said ok, but she found the place, she had to do it. This was her project and as part owner and employee, she had to do the work. He told her if she didn’t want to do it, it was ok, but that he would not take over and make the deal on his own, he explained he had many other things coming, one of which was an auction for several of the Dutch Warmblood show horses. (I think they have around 80-90 horses on the farm.) She was in a bit of a panic, this was a lot of money she’d be dealing with and could hurt the company a little if things went wrong. She asked if he would help her at all and he said he’d be there for her in an advisory capacity alone, nothing more. She told him she’d think about it and give him her answer the next day, he agreed and she came home to tell me about it. She decided she would talk to the owners to get an initial sale price and decided she would tell her Dad she’d do it. I explained set your limit, negotiate and if they will not settle, she doesn’t have to buy it and the farm will not lose any money. After Thanksgiving, She was on the phone and in Skype with them several times. She asked her parents on the “wiggle room” on the price and they gave her an absolute upper limit based on what they thought would be the absolute highest price they’d pay for it. After several phone calls and actually very little negotiation since they said Kats initial offer was reasonable, only about $15,000 lower than what they finally settled on. The night before, she was in a panic mode, telling me “Omg baby, what if I fuck this up?” I kept telling her she was doing great. She talked about how the most expensive things she has ever dealt with was her car. She bought a BMW X3, for school, with her parent’s money of course, but she bought it, She haggled, she made the deal, she did everything. This girl even negotiates prices at the flea markets and rummage sales we go to. She was in hyper mode all day the next day, then we got home at night from classes and she rushed around because we’re an hour behind in our time zone. She stripped off the clothes she wore to school, got dressed in kind of a business casual look sat down and opened her laptop and stared at the screen for a good 5 minutes before placing the call. I laid on the couch a few feet away behind the laptop, played around on Twitter, and half listened in and I was so proud of her. I heard them laughing at her jokes. I heard them tell her they were impressed with her offer and how she took the lead on this from her father. They talked about how they remember her, just 10 years ago, coming over to go play with their daughter, braided pigtails and all. Now here she was, buying their farm for her parents. I may have teared up a little hearing them talk about her. I was so proud of my little one. Just proud to be the one this amazing person wants to be with.
They went over a few more details and the she told them she’d get the contracts revised with the new prices and fee’s and a couple requirements dealing with structures on the property. Keep in mind, she did all this during review and finals week and still made the Dean’s list, and managed to ace her exams. I heard her say good bye, I heard the lap top close and I heard nothing else. I looked over the back of the couch and she was staring blankly at the wall and I could see tears in her eyes. I decided to give her a minute to calm down and she came bouncing over the couch on top of me, wiping her eyes and exclaiming “OMG baby! I just bought the farm! I’m 20 years old and I bought a fucking farm!” Her smile said it all and I started crying myself. I grabbed her and wrapped my arms around her neck and held her so close. My girlfriend just bought a farm and I was so proud of her and didn’t want to let her go right then, but it was already 10pm back home and she still had to call her parents and email the revisions to their attorney. I let her go so she could do her work and I got back to studying for I think my last final. I finished studying and while she was on the phone with Mom (hers), I played around on my phone.
When everything was done, we jumped in the shower where I began kissing every inch of her gorgeous body. I let my hands slide down her sides, caressing her butt and squeezing her cheeks, spreading them slightly, as I kissed my way down her chest, over her belly. I twirled my tongue around her belly button a few times as I renewed my grasp on her butt and spread her cheeks further, letting my middle fingers on each hand tease her perfect little butthole, I felt her force outward to open slightly as I let one slip in for a light finger fuck. I began kissing her mound, letting my tongue slip down to the top of her slit and teasing her hood as I swirled around, almost digging under to tease her clit. I finally settled on my knees and grabbed her ankle to raise her leg and let her rest it on my shoulder. She leaned against the back of the shower wall and I was able to slide my tongue back to her asshole. Teasing and tonguing it a bit before running my tongue up through her slit, tasting her juices and sucking on her clit. I let go of her leg and slid my hand down to my own wet little pussy and buried two fingers deep inside as I licked out my beautiful girlfriend. She grabbed the back of my head and began to grind up and down on my mouth, letting me know I was doing well. After another 30 seconds, I felt her legs begin to shake before her back slid down the shower wall, and she was sitting in front of me, shaking, and staring me in the eye as I continued fucking myself. She grabbed my hand and replaced it with her own as she got to her knees in front of me and began kissing my neck, my forehead, and then my lips as she continued fucking my wet little slit with her fingers. I rocked my hips back and forth on her hand. As she forced more in me, I tried hard to force myself further on her hand as I rocked back and forth. I leaned in, toward her, and gently bit her neck while I slowly bounced on her fingers.
She was doing everything perfect and I did not want things to ends for the night, but we had finals in the morning and needed sleep. We made out for another minute or so, got out and dried each other off, and jumped in bed. I rolled over, back into my big spoon and told her how very proud I am of her, not just for the purchase of the farm for her families company, but for doing it all, during end of semester review and during finals week. She shocked her dad by moving forward so fast. He even told her she had time to get finals, and even the holidays out of the way first, but as I well know, Kat goes after what she wants. She does not give someone else the chance to jump in and make the first move, or make a better offer. She sees something she wants and she takes steps to make it hers and I love her for it, more and more each day.

Keeping up with the Kardashians, Season 17, Recap #3
I am skipping watching the Emmy’s to spend my Sunday night with the show most likely sweep all categories at the Emmy’s, Keeping up with the Kardashians. I did see that Kendall is wearing a latex turtleneck and everytime I see this much latex, I feel physically uncomfortable at the idea of how sweaty she must be - like jumping in and out of a vat of oily beer cheese. This is my second recap today, feel free to visit my very late recap of episode #2.
This week’s episode starts at Kimora Lee Simon’s Korean spa where the Kardashian sisters get their “anus scrubbed”. I’ve had many scrubs at Korean Spas, they’re one of my favorite things in the world, you literally come out of there feeling as smooth as a baby seal. I would recommend this to Kendall tonight after she peels herself out of that latex turtleneck. I’m assuming they were trying to keep their modesty, but you get these scrubs totally naked, no tiny thong to cover up your business!
This season, Khloe is still dealing with the fallout from Tristan cheating with Jordyn Woods. At Kim’s house, over some printed out Pinterest board redesign of Chi’s room, Khloe tells Kim that she is going to therapy with Tristan to help with co-parenting. Kim thinks that her and Jordyn should have a chat, as Jordyn is (was) Kylie’s best friend. This is the definition of the idiom “you don’t shit where you eat”!
After being robbed at gunpoint in Paris and hearing of armed robberies in Hidden Hills, Kim has decided to step up her security. This means that when Kris Jenner waltzes into her backyard for a “daily visit” to get a “bottle of water”, she is now stopped by security. I feel like if I was one of the Kardashian/Jenner’s, I’d be like “MY FACE IS MY ID!” I can’t even imagine how expensive Kim’s security detail is, which is probably why she launched Skims and her new makeup collaboration within one week.
Last season I saw Khloe wrangle Kourtney’s kids as she slept during the entirety of a 15-hour flight to Bali, so I have an idea of Kourtney’s style of parenting. I’m not a parent and I am super lenient to my cats so I am in no position to have any say in this, but it is super uncomfortable to see her children hit her. Mason got in trouble at school for threatening to beat up a kid at school over a ball. This seems like typical kid stuff but Kourtney told him that he could go to a playdate afterwards and Scott disagreed. I wonder if it’s because the nanny quit and she had to do a cryo session with Khloe? I think it’s interesting that Kourtney is allowing for this to be filmed and open for public criticism because parenting can be a really touchy subject!
In an attempt to talk about the elephant in the room, Khloe decides to take a day trip to Napa with Kylie. In the plane, Khloe and Kylie talk about Stormi’s 40th birthday, and Kris starts to cry as she realizes that she won’t be alive to see it. This very real moment realization of our mortality and inevitable death really struck me and is still making me feel uncomfortable. Khloe lightened up the moment saying that she would be there with her face set in stone and dripping in Kris Jenner diamonds.
Keeping up with the somber mood, Kris said that she would like to be buried in a marble wine casket. This seems like a great idea to me, so she can be rolled into Stormi’s 40th birthday party and be there in spirit.
During a session of “EmSculpting”, Kourtney complains to Kim about her security. I’m curious as to what all of these lasers do, do they actually work? It’s not like I’ll ever have the money to find out.
Back in Napa, Khloe and Kylie have their heart to heart about Jordyn while Kris is off looking at churches or something. Kylie is chilled as a cucumber and says she is in a good place right now - I feel like nothing about this situation is resolved (as in, we’ll continue to hear about it this season) but they had to get this moment on camera to move on. After their talk, they jumped on some ATV’s and rode around a winery. This doesn’t sound safe, but there are no rules when you’re rich at a winery.
In celebration of Foodgod legally changing his name to Foodgod at the Kardashian’s favorite eating spot, Nobu, Kourtney shares with her family that her nanny quit after Penelope scratched her in the face. Corey, Kris’ boyfriend, said that if Penelope scratched him in the face he would “whoop” her ass. This not only sets off Scott, but also makes both Kim and Kris stress eat their cake. I feel like it’s still unclear, but it seems like Corey MEANT that if he was Penelope’s parent, he would spank her but he was not backing down from Scott questioning his comment. It seems to me like Corey is the type of person that is never wrong, and once again, after stress eating her slice of cake, Kris ends up in tears.
The next day, Foodgod is picking up Kim to get froyo, but first we see him complain about the security. There is so much complaining about Kim’s security in this episode, I wonder if something is about to happen? While on their way back from froyo, Kim receives a frantic call from Khloe that her security tackled Kris Jenner. She pulls up this CTV video which shows Kris, in a black Adidas tracksuit get tackled. Kim freaks out and runs to her mommy on a stretcher only to find out that she was being pranked. This is the kind of somber ass prank that would piss me off so much. Who knows if Kim was in on it, but that was just too much! Who does that?
The episode ends with some home footage of Kourtney and Corey talking about the incident at Nobu. Again, it’s unclear to me what he meant, but he reassured Kourtney that he wouldn’t hurt her children. Kourtney and Scott talk about their checklist chart and their parenting style to round off an episode where they seem like they let their children run wild. How bad is ‘this’?
Verse: Zombie Apocalypse AU
Pairing: Jurnex
Warnings: chose not to apply warnings for plot reasons, sorry
Characters/Parties: N. A. Jurow, John Kennex
Word Count: 1471
[source]
John Kennex jumped out of his car. His partner did the same, they both headed up to where the buzz was going on. Tough situation. One of the major criminals of the city was active again, a genius maniac who loved to see the world burn.
He was here today to help stop her. Several people, two of them cops, had been kidnapped.
The squad was getting ready to move in, with latest data the Drones were submitting, they plotted out strategies to solve this. Of course also backup plans were made.
Then the time had come, a SWAT team and a few detectives moved in, making their way up the building.
But suddenly everything turned south, a large group of goons was away ting them, the hostages were not even at this location. A struggle in a tight space, everything went so fast and then a grenade exploded. Kennex was caught up in a flashback and then blackness surrounded him.
***
When he opened his eyes his vision was blurry. The first thing he felt was pain, or rather soreness. Without the pain medicine it was almost not bearable.
The ceiling above was white, he was in a bed, his blanket had a familiar pattern. His right hand reached up to remove the clear plastic mask it was suffocating instead of helping, there was no flow at all. One of the first things that told him, something was wrong, apart from his physical and mental state.
He grunted as he sat up, everything hurt. When he shifted his weight he noticed that one thing was like always, though. His right leg was missing, he had lost it about two and a half years ago.
He was in a hospital, the flowers on the table were dry and dead, and his IV bags had run dry.
He mildly started to panic. He had spotted his prosthetic leg, leaning on a chair at the table.
He moved to the edge of the bed, still trapped by cables. He, half panicky tried to free himself. After he did so, he started to get up, leaning on his nightstand and his good leg. But this leg was like jello, he fell and hit the ground hard.
He mumbled something, trying to get up. After laying in bed for weeks it was very hard to move, and with just one leg it was extra hard.
He felt week and like his body was not up for the job at all.
But he kept trying. He ended up crawling on his belly towards his leg and leaning onto the wall to attach it.
Slowly he tried to get on his feet, failing a few times, but he had to know what was going on. He grabbed his bag, with a little stuff, on of his colleagues had left for him.
A little later, he had reached the door to the hallway, he pulled it open, right facing one of the food charts that were storing all the trays. He pushed it aside and almost fell over again. He clinged to the wall, he only support available.
The lighting in the hallway was bad, some of the lights were dead other were flickering and humming. Next to the typical hospital smells that made him already uncomfortable, it smelled like rotten things, presumably coming from the food in the chart. He already felt nauseous, it all made him gag.
“Hello? Nurse?” he didn’t yell, but he said it loudly. What was going on, he made his way towards a front and the nurse’s station. He was barely keeping it together, he was dragging his feet and walked very slowly always expecting to fall over again.
***
In a hallway, with pour light, there stood a woman. She was wearing a black helmet with a headlamp, a thick, army green jacket, which was not open in the front. There was an assault rifle over her shoulder and a backpack hanging one one strap, she was looting drugs and other medical supplies into it, when she heard steps, she turned towards them. She drew bead, up the hallway, she didn’t see who or what it was, the footfalls were slow and of naked feet, a bit dragging.
Her finger moved towards the trigger when she saw the figure emerge front the shadows, a man in a hospital gown who glanced angry at her. He opened his mouth to say something when he lost balance and tripped over his own feet, letting out a rather helpless yelp.
She kept her gun up, when she walked over to him, with careful steps, the light was blinding him.
Damnit, why was she aiming her firearm right at him, what had he done?!
“Be careful or you’re gonna kill someone, lady,” he grumbled, as he tried to get up.
She sighed in relief and put the safety back on, and help him up. Both her hands were gloved, through the opened jacked he could see that she was wearing tactical armour, strapped to her left thigh; a hand gun.
“Where are you coming from?” she asked, her voice had something familiar but he couldn’t tell what it was.
“My bed,” he responded sounding very tired and not less grumpy. “What do you want with that? Is that how you greet everyone?”
“Just the dead,” she answered. Now supporting him so he wouldn’t fall over. “I thought you are one of them.”
He watched her pull off her right glove, in order to feel his forehead. Even though he was quite pale, he had no fever.
What the hell. He had so many questions, everything was turning in his head.
“What is your name? Do you know what day it is?” she asked.
“John Kennex, and that was one of the questions I would liked to ask next.”
“It’s Thursday, the 19th of July,” she explained and had to take her second arm too, to keep him from falling over.
“Fuck. I’ve been in a coma… again,” he sighed. “I’m so tired of this.”
“Hey, it’s alright. I’ll take you to a safe place and check you over, alright?”
He looked at her again, there was still this familiar feel to her, he squinted his eyes as he looked into her face.
“What are you? Why are you looting? What happened here?”
“Seems like you have slept some time,” she took a deep breath, “I’m Natalyia Jurow, I’m a doctor.”
He nodded. Things were odd about her, things didn’t make sense, but his mind was too fuzzy to really process all those informations.
She obviously was left-handed, the side she was carrying her side arm and the way she had held her rifle, now she was feeling his pulse with her right hand though. Also the grip of her left hand was a lot tighter, but he really didn’t think about that yet.
“How bad is this?” he asked, looking around in the hallway and the mess everywhere.
“Very bad. End of the world bad,” she said, totally serious and a bit grim looking.
She picked up her stuff and closed the closet, then she helped Kennex to get moving again. On their way out they luckily found a wheelchair.
He noticed how tense she was, even though she appeared professional to him, it made him feel uncomfortable.
The closer they came to the leaving the hospital, the tenser she got.
“Can you stay right with me?” she asked as she let go of him to grab her rifle with both hands. “And please, no matter what happens, not exclaim loudly, we don’t want to attack attention.”
She opened the back door slowly, peeking outside. Kennex still tried to grasp what was going on. Then she reckoned him to follow.
“Whatever you do, be as quiet as possible,” she whispered into his ear, while she helped him down the stairs. They left the useful wheelchair behind.
She had parked a yellow-black ATV in the ally and was now heading towards it. She took of her jacked and let him put it on, before she helped him sit down behind her.
“Hold on tightly,” she said.
He still didn’t get what was going on, something was strange though. It was suspiciously quiet, nobody was on the pavement they drove on. Cars were parked all over the street some of them had crashed into each other. A strange stench filled the air.
The ATV had an electric engine and except the sound of the moving tires it moved quietly. While they rode down the street, Kennex could see a few people, wandering around as if they had no destination. Weird.
Jurow gave no damn, she just drove. Kennex held onto her to don’t fall off as she took a turn.

Queen of My Heart - Chapter 10
The Royal Romance Reality Show AU
Pairing: Drake X MC, Liam X MC
Rating: M/NSFW
Author’s Note: I didn’t intend for this group date to extend into a third chapter, but this one got long on me, so there’s lots of Liam in this one and not much Drake. I’ll try and make it up next chapter. Also the end is NSFW.

Queen of My Heart Chapter Index
"Wait, hold up!" Riley commanded. She couldn’t believe Liam would agree to faking her rescue for the sake of good TV. "Don't I get a say? This involves me too, and I think it’s ridiculous. Liam, do you really want to do this?”
“Not exactly...It’s just, things haven’t been the most stable politically or financially in Cordonia in recent years. I know I may be naive to think pulling silly stunts like this to get ratings and good recognition for Cordonia and myself will help, but I feel its worth taking the chance.”
“There has got to be other ways to go about it...And think of all the people who just witnessed what happened. Don’t you think the truth will get out one way or another?”
“You do have a point,” Liam conceded.
“Liam, Riley, I know I keep telling you this, but I have produced many shows like this, and I know what works. Half of what you see on those other shows is suggested, scripted, or shot over and over again to get the desired result. The contracts don’t allow for any sharing of details about what goes on behind the scenes. I’m sure nobody here wants to get sued for breaking their contract.” Kat purposefully looked around at everyone there. “And you know Riley, we can’t really put you back up on that horse again, so we either need a reason to explain why there’s no more footage of you on horseback, or we need to cut your out entirely.”
“What does that mean?” Riley questioned.
“It means that if you don’t want to do this, we can just send you back to the palace right now, and we can finish shooting this date without you.”
That was low. Riley wasn’t sure if the the directive was coming from Jo or Kat herself, but they were playing her and Liam. Riley thought they were on her side, and maybe they did have an interest in keeping her around, but the only side they were on was their own.
Liam pulled Riley aside and spoke quiet enough so others couldn’t here. “Riley, I know neither of us wants to do this, but I think the crew can pull it off and make it believable. I was ready to tell them I was with you in standing against it, but I can’t let them send you back. I was really looking forward to spending some time with you today. If you go back, I can’t say when my next chance will come, but it won’t be soon enough.”
Riley’s emotions were heightened, and Liam was just too damn irresistible. “Fine, but you better make it worth my while,” she said with a smirk.
“Oh, I fully intend to.” Liam winked at her and then he went and whispered in something in Kat’s ear. She appeared to be deliberating for a moment and then she nodded.
“So what was that about?” Riley asked when Liam returned to her side.
“You’ll find out.” He teased. “I just asked for a little something in return for our cooperation.”
The re-shoot of Riley’s dramatic rescue had didn’t take long, thankfully. Everyone got back on their horses, except for Riley, who rode to the springs with one of the crew members by ATV. Riley wasn’t swearing off horses forever, but she was thankful to not have to get back on her horse right away.
After a short while, the group arrived at the hot springs. The show had managed to reserve the entire area, so it was off limits to the public for the day. As with most things Riley had scene in Cordonia so far, it was breathtaking. There were blue-green pools of water carved into the light colored stone formations with waterfalls cascading down from one pool to the next. Lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas were set-up around the perimeter of the pools. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Everyone dispersed to the changing rooms to put on their bathing suits. Riley brought her favorite bikini. It was red with a triangle push-up halter top and low rise bottoms. When she emerged, Liam was already standing outside, wearing the same perfectly cut, navy blue swim trunks he had been wearing in the first picture of him she ever saw. She had been wowed by the picture, but it was no comparison to the real thing. The inseam was just the right length to show off his muscular thighs without being too short. The waistband sat low enough to fully showcase his sculpted upper body, with the top of his v-line peaking out.
"Riley...red is a...a good color on you," Liam fumbled for words. Apparently he was as wowed by the sight of her as she was by him.
"And blue is a good color on you," Riley replied cheekily.
Liam smiled shyly. "I promise we will get some time together today, but I need to make the rounds with everyone first. Is that okay with you?"
"Of course Liam. I'll be patiently waiting."
Hana, Penelope, Kiara, and Riley stuck together, hopping from one pool to the next. Although Riley was closest to Hana so far, the four of them seemed to click more with each other than any of the others. It's not like they were excluding anyone. Maybe more like the others were excluding them, but Riley didn't mind. Hana was smart, talented and just about the sweetest person you would ever meet. Kiara could seem intimidating at first, but she was a super intelligent woman with diplomatic aspirations and was fluent in several languages. Penelope might not come off as the sharpest knife in the drawer, but her excessive talk about her poodles stemmed from her anxiety and the comfort they provided. She seemed to be a compassionate person with a love for animals and fashion design. Riley knew she was in competition with these women, but if Liam happened to fall in love with one of them over her, she knew they would only choose to marry Liam for the right reasons.
The afternoon wore on with Liam hanging out with most of the women in small groups. He did spend some time with Riley's foursome, but that wasn't all he had meant when he said he would get some time with her, was it? She kept wondering if and when her time would come.
Riley would be lying if she said her mind wasn’t also on Drake. She had wanted to get him to like her before because it was a challenge, and because he was Liam’s best friend. But now it seemed like more than that. Were her feelings artificially forced by the intensity of the situation? He literally saved her life, or at the least prevented her from a potential serious injury. Was it just the fear and adrenaline artificially causing her to latch on to the person that was there for her? Or was she finally starting to see the real Drake Walker. All she knew was that she was having strong feelings for two men at once, and she wasn’t sure what to make of it.
So while Riley was frequently paying attention to where Liam was and was he was doing, she was also doing the same for Drake. She tried not to make it obvious, but she noticed he was watching her...a lot. Yes it was part of his job to know where she was, but he was definitely checking her out, and she was disappointed she couldn't do the same to him. Not being able to see what was beneath his clothing made her all the more desperate to know.
A short while before dinner was to be served, Kat approached Riley and her little group. "Hi Ladies. Riley I need to steal you for a little bit. We need you to fill out an incident report.”
“Even though though I wasn’t injured? Do we really need to do it now?” Riley wondered if Kat was trying to make things more difficult for her because she had protested earlier.
"Trust me Riley, you really want to get this out of the way now. You will be back by dinner the time dinner is served."
Riley wondered if this meant she would miss out on her time with Liam. She followed Kat around the backside of the stone carved pools. "Are you trying to punish me?" Riley asked?
They stopped in front of a large cave entrance. "Does this look like a punishment to you?"
Riley peered inside the cave and was blown away. There was a long rectangular pool that spanned the length of the cave. White cushions and pillows matching the pristine white walls of the cave lined the sides.
"I told you we'd get some time together." Liam appeared at Riley's side.
"Liam!...Wait, does our time together include filling out an incident report?"
"Oh, Riley," Kat shook her head, "There is no incident report...well at least right now. We will have you sign something tomorrow. We just needed an excuse to get you away from the group for a bit. Take this as my thank you for re-filming the scene earlier."
Riley still wasn't happy with Kat and Jo, but maybe they weren't all bad. Kat walked out, leaving Liam and Riley alone.
Riley looked around and noticed something was missing. "Hey, where are the cameras?"
Liam wrapped his arm around Riley's waist and pulled her close. "No cameras this time. It's just you and me."
Riley couldn't believe they were going to be completely alone for the first time, but she wasn't going to question her luck. She gave Liam a quick kiss on the lips.
Liam smiled. "So do you want to go for a swim?"
"I think we've had enough swimming today." Riley grabbed Liam's hand, led him over to the cushions, and sat down.
"Riley, I want to thank you again for re-filming the scene with me. I know you still aren't happy about it, but hopefully it is all worth it in the end...for both of us."
“Does that mean you see me here in the end with you? There are still so many women here you are getting to know...”
“Riley, I know it is still really soon to say this, but when I picture having to propose to someone at the end of this, you are the only one I see.”
Riley paused, processing what Liam had said. She knew things would have to move quickly, with the show taking place over the course of just a few months, but she was’t sure if she was ready to think of the final outcome yet. She had strong feelings for Liam for sure, but it was still early, and there were so many other women involved.
“What are you thinking about?” Liam asked. “Do you think you could see yourself as my wife, and the eventual Queen of Cordonia? I know this life is new to you, and this is so much to ask so early on...But I care about you so much already and I just want you to be happy. I won’t be upset with you if you can’t see this life for yourself.”
“You are right Liam, this is all very new to me, and I’m still taking it all in. Honestly, when I came here I had no expectations, and couldn’t even begin to imagine what the outcome would be. All I know is that I like you...a lot. I’m ready to see where this goes, but I don’t want either of us to make any promises yet.”
“That sounds fair...as long as you aren’t politely rejecting me,” Liam joked.
“Not at all...I was actually just wondering when you were going to stop talking and kiss me. Riley stared intently into Liam’s eyes.
A small smile pulled at the corners of Liam’s lips, and his eyes grew darker. “I was just waiting for you to ask.”
Riley moved in closer to Liam. He wrapped one arm around her waist and tangled his other hand in her hair, pulling her in for a kiss filled with heat and urgency. Liam’s hand traveled slowly from Riley’s hip, moving up the side of her torso, sending shivers down her spine. He softly caressed her breast through the fabric of her swimsuit and Riley let out a slight gasp.
“Is this okay?” Liam asked.
Riley nodded and brought her lips to his, kissing him even more hungrily than before. In one smooth motion, Liam laid her back against the pillows and pressed his body against hers. She could feel the heat radiating off of him and his hard length pressing into her as they explored each other’s mouths. He traced his smooth fingers up her inner thigh at an agonizingly slow pace, making her desperate for more.
Liam pulled away and looked into Riley’s eyes. “Let me know if you want to stop.”
Riley shook her head no. “Keep going,” she urged. She pulled him close to her again, running her hands up and down his backside.
Liam continued further up her thigh, moving over the top of her bikini bottoms and lightly rubbing circles on her clit
Riley let out a quiet moan. Liam hooked his fingers under her waistband and pulled her bottoms down. He ran his fingers through her wetness before plunging one finger inside her and then another. He moved his fingers in and out while he kissed, sucked, and nipped from her lower belly up to her chest. He moved the fabric on one side of her top aside exposing breast. He ran his tongue over her nipple, and the cool breeze running through the cave made it tingle. He brought his mouth down again, flicking his tongue and sucking gently while increasing the pace of his fingers pumping in and out of her.
Riley’s breaths increased and she was quickly getting close to the edge. Liam used his thumb to rub circles on her clit and Riley couldn’t take anymore. She let out a quiet high, pitched moan and came, her muscles contracting around Liam’s fingers.
Liam helped her get her bathing suit back in place and then kissed her sweetly on the lips.
Riley embraced Liam and whispered in his ear, “I think it’s time for me to return the favor.”
Liam shuddered. “Oh god Riley, you don’t know how bad I want that...but we have been gone long enough already. I wanted to do this for you. I can wait for my turn. As soon as you are composed, why don’t you head back to the group.”
“Are you coming soon?”
I’ll come back in a bit. We don’t want to raise suspicions. Everyone thinks I had to go take some business calls. I think I’m going to take a dip in the pool. I definitely need to cool off after that.
Riley gave him one last kiss and made her way back to the other ladies.
