I have to talk about this because the Glass Animals How To Be A Human Being album is one of my special interests that album is so cool you guys don't understand please

The album features 11 songs, each one corresponding to one of the people on the album's cover(s), each one telling a story about that person

I bring this up as context as to why, even though everyone in this community makes memes about it, Pork Soda is THE TomTord song, and here's why:

Pork Soda corresponds to the old man with a paddy cap and glasses in the back of the album to the left of the basket ball player, and as such it's sung from his perspective

The song is about two lovers who fell in love with each other because of their spontaneous nature,

Somewhere in South End when you were fun You took my hand and you made me run Up past the prison to the seafront You climbed the cliff edge and took the plunge

However, this song is sung from the future(ish?), it's the old man yearning for the days when he and his lover were younger and full of sporadic energy, for when they would just pick up stuff suddenly and leave off on some crazy adventure,

Why can't we laugh now like we did then? How come I see you and ache instead? How come you only look pleased in bed? Let's climb the cliff edge and jump again

This is further pushed by the song's official music video where it shows a literal divide between the two lovers, living different lives as they live on completely separate floors of the house

The old man is portrayed as bitter and its suggested this song is him complaining about how his life isn't what it used to be to the listener, as he sits in his living room watching TV and doing pretty much nothing with himself, stuck in a constant loop of disappointment and resentment

Versus the wife who's seen with a dog that she's trying to get joy out of having, she tries to keep having a spontaneous life and do fun things to keep that spark in her going, seen with her dancing with the dog in the floor above the old man

I think this is great symbolism honestly, and it suggests the old man is to blame for this lack of spontaneousness in their love life anymore

Furthermore this is perfect for TomTord, more specifically, imo, enemies/friend to lovers to enemies WTFuture TomTord, although The End was also pretty good I think it would've worked better if it was pre Tord leaving and then Tord coming back, as that gives similar vibes yk?

It's perfect for them and I know this song is everyone's personal hell in this fandom and I understand why but you NEED to realize this is THEIR song

Glass Animals got inspired to write this song after they met a girl (at a concert I believe?) with a tattoo on her arm that simply said "Pork Soda", and when they asked her why she got such a random string of words tattoo like that she said "cause I wanted to", thus inspiring them to make a song about spontaneousness

HOWEVER

I know the reason she got that tattoo and why she said that she is so funny to me

She got that tattoo because there's actually a second Pork Soda, a band album: Primus' Pork Soda album, which is, I'm sure, why she got the tattoo because that album probably meant a lot to her

Thus making her answer "because I wanted to" seem like the generic answer every person who has a tattoo answers with because everyone always asks "why did you get that tattoo" or belittle them for the tattoo "not having meaning", etc.

hi, i was the tomxtamara oneshot microfic kiss guy - i actually wrote that to test the no kissing rule, which was written as a server rule by matt himself (as they applied it to shipping fanfic as well) and the mods left that up and just said it was weird because tamara is tom and thus it was selfshipping but all the gay stuff involving the same kinda brief kissing got removed.

yknow the mods that matt and bing had to add themselves because they were the only people in the server with a role high enough to add mods.

and this was after (and you could scroll the art channel to confirm, i'm not subbing to a patreon to scroll the server again, and i think i'm still banned anyhow soo-) they changed the rule. originally they had a no ships AT ALL rule, canonxcanon OR ocxcanon, guess what was left up? art of tom and a woman drawn by some guy who later joined the beyond animation team - even ocxcanon gay art would get removed back then, but the straight stuff? stayed up.

more bullshit under the cut because the server was wild and i mean that in a really negative way, though i will bring up, here instead,

server curator (a step below mods, basically the role you got before being mod for real) laly (username frequencyburbs) saying tord larsson kind of had the harassment coming for having such a unique name like tord larsson. i am serious this happened. no one said anything or told them off for how fucked up of a comment that was, in fact everyone started fucking agreeing-

i'll try to find the screenshot for that specific one later and probably edit it into the post, as iirc it's still in one of my friends's old servers, it was actually fucking ridiculous LMAO

i also got banned for saying that wattpad had some good fanfiction and we maybe shouldn't let the mods/curators (and team member franpun!!!) all go in mocking fanfic writers and like actual children (something about 13 year olds writing gay tomtord fics set post-the end and they didn't like it), because apparently my comment "hurt someone" who was buddies with the mods and half the server literally blocked my discord account for that. all the popular bitches, basically. i think even a couple of mods blocked me for it.

and then there was liam, the underage kid who said the n word a lot (which was the server moments twitter's downfall) and who personally targeted me with the server moments account because i said i didn't want my messages out in public because i'd been dealing with shit from the fandom already so they made a point to keep posting my messages and refusing to take them down. made fun of me several times for it as well.

the mods also claimed to support LGBTIAQ+ people and would ban for homophobia... only to turn around and scold ME and threaten to ban me when i told kids that the "edd is colasexual/tom is objectsexual/tord is animesexual/matt is mattsexual and they're all cis" jokes were homophobic/transphobic.

also after the tbatf drama (the "you should go j//mp off a r//f for your birthday"-jax to some kid, gr//ping kids at cons from all the tbatf chicks, and the merch deal that fell through when they insulted matt) they let people talk some light shit abt tbatf... until they quietly let jax back into the server (or was it brittany? it's been a while i don't completely recall anymore) and then you had to stop or have the mods threaten to ban you for "off topic discussion".

they also don't let anyone use the eddsworld logo/edd's font for official shit because people "might get confused that you're official" (mostly because they made edd's font, the comic dialogue font, a paid download. yknow the font made by a dead guy? a dead guy who originally posted it online for free WITH THE INTENTION THAT PEOPLE WOULD USE IT, that i hunted down as a free download long before the patreon even existed? that you can still find as an ancient post on some font website's long-forgotten discussion forum? yeah, that font. anyways i have it as my browser font on firefox and have a custom program that makes it my font on windows just because it makes them mad lmao)

they've also locked a ton of recovered art from edd behind the patreon, and just some other generally skeevy greedy bullshit with patreon paywalls and whatnot as well.

so yeah uh basically b//y//nd team and anyone affiliated with them/their server is trash and i think we should absolutely discuss more of this

The real reason why Tord might of left

I'm sure you guys heard of the supposing reason on why Tord left Eddsworld. It is said that he left because of fangirls harassing him and stalking him. It is also said that he left due to ship art but I'm here to debunk that.

Fun fact: That's actually a friend of Edd! She's done a lot of gifts, commissions, and art trades for fangirls in the past!

Anyways, it is said that he left because of fangirls. That's not really true, he didn't have a lot of fangirls back then, Edd did. He did have them but all of the guys had them, he was a fan favorite for sure but compared to Edd, he didn't have that much fangirls. I couldn't find any screenshots or proof of him being stalked either. Also, if that's truly the reason why he left then why would Edd favorite fangirl ship art on his Deviantart?

..... Yeah, I don't think he would support a group that apprently made his friend left?? Also, yes I crossed out their names. I don't want them to get involved in this. Oh, and before you say "Oh that's just who he used to date!", I'm pretty sure he never had a realationship before. Plus, most of these OCs and fangirls were teenagers back then.

Anyways, this is about Tord. Not Edd, I was just using examples and evidence to somewhat back up my claims lol

Now to the final part: the REAL reason why he left!

The reason why he left was because of depression and mental issues. He also had a girlfriend who tried to CHEAT on him with Edd..... Don't worry, Edd refused btw

It is likely that he left to get help considering that he tried to kill himself once. Edd never mentioned any stalking, ships, or harassment. Tom did mentioned Tord being harassed but that video was made after Edd's death. Tord got harassed after his tribute video to Edd.

Why did I make this post? Because I find rumors like this to be very harmful to the person the rumor is about. Also, I have seen a lot of fankids and shippers being harassed, threaten, and having to feel like a peace of shit due to liking or shipping Tord and I don't like minors going through hell because of something that is basically a part of childhood. Hopefully this post doesn't cause any harm or drama but instead clearing some stuff out.

*Just a small story about two enemies becoming friends into something more ^^* 

Intoxicated with alcohol and exhausted from the rain, Tom stumbled at the front door of the house along with Tord hanging onto his shoulders. Fumbling for his keys, Tom searched deep inside of his pockets and clumsily inserted the key into door slot. As soon as he opened the door, Tord released his arms from Tom’s shoulders causing his body weight to drag both onto the floor. As they fell onto the floor, Tord’s body crashed on top of Tom, protecting him from the damage of the fall. The fall along with Tord’s weight crushing Tom onto the ground made him groaned in pain from the damage. Inside of the house was dark and cold. The moonlight reflected across the windows, shining onto the kitchen table. Both laid on the ground, in the dark, too drunk to stand up nor talk. The weight of Tord’s sleepy body on top on Tom was insufferable for him to be able to move.

Tom tried to pushed Tord off of his body by lifting him with his arms but to no avail. The smell of Tord’s cigar smokes left a staggering scent of pollution into the air making it difficult for Tom to breathe.  Again, Tom continued to lift Tord off of him only to fail.

“Tord,” Tom grunted.

“C’mon get up.” Tom began to shift uncomfortably to avoid touching Tord. No response from Tord but only soft breathing.

“Dammit.” Tom sighed.

As Tom’s memory recalled, Edd and Matt went out and left a note depending when they’ll be back. As soon Matt and Edd had left, Tom wanted to drink and decided to  invited Tord out to hangout at a local bar. The sudden invitation surprised Tord including Tom when Tord agreed. Once they arrived at the bar and a couple shots of whiskey in, both started to open up.

After taking the third shot, Tord’s throat started to burned as well as his head began to pound. Tord never enjoyed drinking. Three shots were his limits, however Tom continued to gulp down another two shots of whiskey. Tord couldn’t help but watched Tom in amazement.

“I don’t understand it.” Tord sighed as he lit his cigar with his lighter. “How can anyone be addicted to drinking?”

After another shot, Tom faced towards Tord and grinned. “Lots of practice.”

Tord shook his head and sighed. “Oh and also lots of trauma.” Tom added. Again, Tord sighed again as sarcastic and joking way as a response towards Tom’s humor.

As time passed by in the bar, Tord couldn’t help to wonder why Tom invited him to hangout if they both didn’t like it each other. Tord didn’t understand why he’d even agreed in the first place. Slowly breathing out smokes of his cigar , Tord turned his head towards Tom.

“Hey Tom.” Tord waited for Tom to finish his drink. As soon as he finished, Tom looked directly towards Tord’s eyes, locking eye contact.  The sudden connection of eye contact caused Tord to feel uneasy and shy.

“What’s up?”

“I’ve been wondering about something.” Tord said while nervously twirling his empty glass.

“Why did you invited me to hangout with you?”

Tom didn’t say anything as he looked away and refilled his empty shot glass with more whiskey. After finishing his drink, he stared at the empty shot glass and sighed.

“I guess I didn’t want to be alone.”

“Alone?” Tord thought. It was strange for Tord since Tom always isolated himself from others and figured Tom doesn’t mind loneliness or care for company at all.

“What do you mean?”

Tom sighed. “ Edd’s been spending alot of time with Matt recently. I guess ever since that argument between us, he’s tired of putting up with me.” Tom continued. “I know I’m not exactly the easiest person to deal with but I’m not trying to be a burden. I get that I rely on Edd too much and always expect him to be there but I know he has other things to do.”

Tom looked down and continued to look inside of his empty glass.

“I guess I don’t really like myself.” He grinned weakly. “So that’s why I always spend time with someone to make myself feel valued or at least important.”

Tord wasn’t sure how to respond or react but he was oddly glad when Tom told him how he felt. Tord didn’t feel pity or bad for him. Instead, he felt an odd sense of happiness for Tom from telling the truth. The way Tom looks when holding tightly onto his glass was almost cute.

“I think you’re important.”

The words from Tord’s mouth both startled himself and Tom.

Flustered and drunk, Tord continued.  “ Whats not to like about you, Tom? You’re honest, funny, and the fact that you talk about Edd shows how much you care about others.”  The words Tord would never believed he would ever have to say but here he was in a bar with Tom, together, both drunk.  Once Tord finished his sentence, silence gradually made its between them, unsure what to say next. Both eventually faced each other and grinned awkwardly.

“Thank you, Tord. Coming from you, it means alot.” Tom smiled.

Seeing his smile caused Tord to blush brightly. “N-no problem..”

“Are you okay? Your face is really red.”

“Is it? I can’t tell.” Tord muttered as turned his head away from Tom.

Tord felt abnormally warm. The pounding of his head increases as his stomach made uneasy noises. “I don’t think I feel too good.”

Tord suddenly felt a jab of pain inside of his stomach and covered his mouth over with his hands. Quickly standing up from his seat. Tom placed his hand onto Tord’s back. “ You’re not looking too great either. C’mon let’s go.”

Tord slowly nodded his head only to choked on his own salvia. Warm, green mixed with yellow fluid vomited out of Tord’s mouth onto the ground of the bar. His breathing began to increase faster causing more vomit to escape from his lips.

Tom wrapped Tord’s arms around his shoulders and apologized to the bartender for the mess. The bartender nodded and accepted Tom’s payment. Together as they walked out of the bar, Tom called for a ride back home.

( Note: Hope you enjoy the 1st part of the story! Obviously its not good but I felt like I need to express how cute tomtord really is ^^ Im planning on making this story as short as possible because I dont want to drag this out. And I’ll be sure to include some “nsfw” writings in a few more chapters ;p if ur interested.)
