Reader coming home after a particularly bad day, but poor girl cant even cry or complain without everyone immediately overreacting and pulling you out of school/college or even keeping you from going out at all. So now, reader has to either cry in self pity before she enters her home, wipe her tears and fix herself just enough to show that she hadnt just bawled her eyes out moments ago. Also thinking about baby/toddler reader being sick, just a common cold or flu, nothing major. But with reader whining and being so young, the family's infantalisation goes through the roof and theyd treat you as if you were immunocompromised. I wont lie, but I think Rei is almost kinda... glad when you get sick? She enjoys you being dependant on her for the most things, even when you grow up and are able to handle a cold, she still deludes herself into thinking that you need mommy to come and help you.

I think the one person who is most affected by reader getting sick, no matter what age, is Enji. The man just cant help but view you as a fragile, starving Victorian child the moment you fall ill. In his eyes, even a harsh blow of air is too much for a fragile thing like you, let alone something as bad as the flu. He just- he's holding toddler reader in his arms, who snuggles into his warm body, your tiny nose pink and he cant get the image of you crying and vomiting and being oh so feverish- thats just way too much for your small body. Good thing for you is that this anger is never directed towards you, rather towards people who actively threaten your life (except Rei cause she gets to play "Im your mom who became mentally unstable because of your abusive dad") The only time NAtsuo is stern with you is when it comes to your health. He's just looking at you with those strict eyes when you refuse to take your multivitamins, or dont want to get a flu shot, or try to make up an excuse so that he cant check your vitals. And when he just grabs your wrist and pulls you to sit down so that he can do his checkup, its in those moments that you realise just how strong your brother is... and how easy it may be for him to overpower you and sedate you if he ever followed through Rei's threats.

Lets talk about my goldilocks (goldi)

Shes a single mom, her husband passed away when blondie was a kid and she never looked for anyone else after.

She was raised very traditionally as most of the parents of the ever after high cast are. This means shes against the whole rebel thing, which explains why Blondie was also against it.

Shes also homophobic, but only because shes not able to understand it as queerness had been very undercover before the time frame of ever after high along with being a rebel. It causes her to lose blondie who is a lesbian and dating cupid. She misses blondie so much considering she was basically the only family she had left and then one day she sees blondie has a baby now, her granddaughter. It makes her desperate to have her family back and she throws her taught prejudice aside and rekindles with blondie, accepting cupid and their daughter as her family.

She likes nature and would take little blondie out into the forests with her to explore and have picnics

As the queen of their village shes on friendly terms with their local bear population, all goldilocks eventually are and its why blondie is so sure on all bears being her friends, its because she sees that the local bears to her village are friends with her mom and so she thinks all bears outside of her village will be friendly with her too.

When she stops talking to her mom she basically realises she can actually fully pursue this career, she figures she wont have to be the queen of the village anymore and goes for it. When she does reconnect with her mom she manages to keep her job, with goldi sharing her duties of queen and helping to look after the kids while blondie and cupid are both working.

Goldi loves her grandkids, she takes them out into the woods just like she did with baby blondie. She raises an eyebrow at the bear cub but she quickly accepts him, she asks her mother bear friends about raising cubs and passes the advice she learns onto cupid and blondie. she proudly shows him off as her grandchild to her mother bear friends, and sets up playdates between him and their cubs so he can have playmates he can be more of a bear with (like using his claws and teeth without risk of injuring his human siblings)

When blondie tells her who the fathers for her bio kids are she raises an eyebrow “king charmings boys? Well thats a coincidence. You know once upon a time those boys could have been your brothers” and blondie is confused and horrified “what” goldi just laughs “oh dont worry theres no chance of that. I just dated him for 2 weeks back in high school” and blondie calls daring and dexter to tell them about it and daring is surprised meanwhile dexter is like “… i kinda knew?” Anyway blondie and daring gang up on him for not telling them, darling sees this and pretends she had no idea either leaving dexter to fend for himself.

She gets along with cupid and thinks shes a sweet girl, and even one day says she thinks shes the perfect girl to be dating her daughter. of course cupid is always on her best behaviour around blondies mom. shes pretty sure goldi wouldn’t be as keen on her if she knew half the things she gets blondie into, or what she gets into blondie 👀 so basically all swearing, sexual references and provocative clothing are kept very much away from goldi’s ears and eyes so she can maintain this image. (Cupid has absolutely had sex with blondie in her moms house, when blondie moans cupid shushes her for basically the first time ever, blondie is confused and cupid whispers “hun, i cant have your mom hear us. shes taking me with her shopping tomorrow for ‘mom and daughter-in-law bonding time’ I cant handle the pressure of her glaring at me and giving me the silent treatment the entire time” blondie rolls her eyes and tries to be quieter.)

Goldilocks has no idea how old her daughter’s girlfriend is and will never know. Blondie and cupid decide its best to keep somethings a secret from her mom, she also wont ever see cupid’s true form or even know shes able to shapeshift at all. the kids say something about cupid’s “cool bone wings!” And goldi is so confused, its even worse when their cub asks goldi “why do i need to be around these other bears?” And goldi says “its good for you to be able to learn bear things from your own species instead of just your human family” and he tilts his head confused “but momma is a bear sometimes, she teaches me bear things already” and goldi confronts cupid and blondie to which they absolutely lie about it.

Goldi meets cupids family once and never again. They are too much for her and cupid cringes as her auntie Aphrodite tries to flirt with a confused goldi. Cupid begs and prays that goldilocks views on her have not changed after the experience.

GOD mcd as a book genuinely makes me both so excited and terrified at the same time. I've had this ask sitting in my inbox for like a day now because idk entirely how to voice all the opinions i have about this. AT THE VERY LEAST: It's cool that Jess hasn't forgotten entirely about MCD, and while it sounds like the plans to continue myst are more clear/doable (its the same format she's always done, all it takes is for her to write a conclusion she feels satisfied with. which is definitely a large feat but it feels more in-reach than expanding on mcd right now), its cool that theres still an interest for MCD as well.

CONTINUING: MCD continuation sounds like it is not in reach right now, and not entirely a priority either. It's not even in pre-production yet, it sounds like she hasn't even decided on a format to release it as, which means relatively zero work has gone into making that yet. (Beyond the guideline that has already been written for it in the form of the existing MCD story that we know and are familiar with.) We don't even know if it would be a book!! JESS doesn't even know if it would be a book!! I don't know how I'd feel about it if it WAS a book! She's been vocal about wanting something akin to an anime or animated series before iirc (though i dont remember the source for this so correct me if im wrong), so it could be that thats still something she wants to pursue with and getting a whole animated show at a good quality is hard! I don't know!!! Nobody knows!!!! (And I don't know if she's ever even produced anything aside from Youtube Video Storytelling/RP series. Sure she has a very successful toy line, but that's not really a writing/storytelling medium. And I guess there's the music videos, but those are... um......... bad........ And we know she's no stranger to fanfic, thanks to the fucklist if nothing else, but i've literally never SEEN her writing go towards something that wasnt a Minecraft Youtube Video. On this note, if anyone is familiar with work Jess/the team has done for something that ISNT the medium of things she posts to her youtube channel, please send it my way I'd be very interested in checking it out.)

I think I'm glad that at the very least, it wont be produced in the same style as her modern rps (the style used for mcds3 + modern mystreet content + Rebirth too actually...) because I really don't enjoy that style... to me a big part of MCD honestly is the fact that things are for the most part kept in Aphmau's POV of things, something they ditch alot in modern rp content. But switching that format to something else might not lend to telling it the same way. Which is scary to me!! (honestly I personally think mcd would function really well as a first person visual novel or something along those lines. but if anything, that might require more writing than a book would, since there'd be choices and paths...) And obviously ppl HAVE attempted things similar to retelling mcd as a book before, there might be more MCD rewrites out there than MCD fanfics at this point tbh im not blind. But there's still the difficulty of being able to tell that story well in a medium it was not originally produced in/arguably meant for.

There's also the point of: I don't really Like a lot of the more recent choices Jess has made with MCD's story somewhat recently. The stuff with Irene in Mystreet just feels like a mess, I don't like the idea of the two having crossover. And while Rebirth for the most part was pretty good, there are still some things I have gripes with, mostly with how Aphmau is presented as a character and agency problems she's had since all the way back in mcd s2. There's a very real possibility that I just wont enjoy MCD as the way Jess wants to tell it now. And thats like fine, obviously, but it is also a little disheartening.

and then there's the point of: still knowing that i probably won't like how it ends, WE WILL LIKELY GET AN ACTUAL END. can you imagine that. MCD with an ending. a canon ending. I doubt it would be in the first installment of whatever MCD gets published as (if it gets published at all), seeing as even in Rebirth jess was planning on it having 2 seasons, but still. Even if I don't like the ending, the idea that there will BE ONE OUT THERE for me to bounce off of is incredible to me.

when it comes down to it: i honestly don't have much hopes of MCD ever being officially finished in any capacity. I hate to be a downer about it so soon after news that Should be Good. But the fact that she doesn't even know what MEDIUM she wants it to be in is not a good sign. If it Will ever be officially published in some form, it's likely it won't be for a very very long time. Not like mcd fans are strangers to waiting, but still. As a professional MCD Waiter, I would not be surprised if we are left waiting forever. It happened with original mcd, it happened with rebirth, i do not doubt it will continue happening for a very long time. I'm scared to get my hopes up for a finished story of any kind, because it's never approached Finished before. Its very hard for me to get excited over something I know will likely be abandoned, possibly before it's even been started.

On the less fucky and more in line with what I'd actually want in canon side: boys don't get to look up to women. like that's not really a thing in stories and especially not in a historically male dominated genre like superhero comics. so the potential that could've been there if they had leaned into the older sister/mentor role instead of aging babs down and taking away her authority in order to make an Unproblematic Romance?? it haunts me.

anyway i had an idea for this but it came to me at 6am after i just woke up so it’s probably REALLY eh. anyway kid is death because thats like the logical jump and blackstar is puss and tsubaki is kitty but not romantically involved at all because tsustar is. vile. anyway, they’re cat robin-hoods, steal from the rich give to the poor. one day blackstar steals something thats supposed to grant immortality and he’s like “theres no way this is real but lemme test it out anyway for personal reasons.” and then it ends up being real. and he’s totally chilling with that because this could be his shot at surpassing god ‘cept death and death jr are not okay with that at all and he looses in a really funny way to dtk and gets pretty pissed. his day is ruined more when tsubaki says she’s on her last life and wants to retire and blackstar properly freaks out. in my head i steal from the sandman a little and the thompsons are two regular twins who got killed during a robbery gone wrong and then get the chance to keep ‘living’ as presumably servants of death and they’re like ‘yeah sure whatever’ and then get passed off to his neurotic nervous wreck of a son and then also belatedly realise theyre ravens and definitely not human. they chill though theyre his literal wing-sisters. *flicks wrist*

anyway because big daddy death is totally not chill with the idea of immortal cats wandering around he tells dtk to go and Git Him because its good training for when he succeeds him or whatever. anyway dtk goes and tries to do that and even though every time they fight he absolutely claps blackstar, b*star always gets away and its getting kinda really frustrating, so he just watches him trying to find a moment where his guard is down enough for a quick stab n go. doesnt really happen instead he just gets feelings which is really gay and lame of him everyone point and laugh. anyway eventually he goes from ‘i must kill this guy because dad said so’ to ‘i wanna be his friend and maybe also kiss him idk’ hes not very good at emotions. its just as well the thompsons are there. anyway eventually theyre on speaking terms and after much preamble they have a lil heart to heart and its very sweet.

i imagine if ass*star was a cat he’d be a maine coon not because they’re large or particularly menacing, but because theyre one of the few breeds with enough fur to maintain that absolutely batshit hairstyle that hes got going

If you love collecting or hoarding like he does, his collection of items is suddenly shared with you too
