Bea's SpideyPool Fic Recs
I read so much Spideypool fan fiction and I thought I'd share some of my favorites! Most of the summaries included are my own because I wanted to share what I really loved about them/why I recommend them
Thank you so much to the authors for sharing these and for all their hardwork<3
Belle of the Bar
by DerRumtreiber
E | 34,092 Words
My summary:
Peter is just an average college student and gets a job at a strip club run by Wade and Weasel but he also has to balance practice for ping-pong because he is on a sports scholarship. Wade is so into him and very soon things get spicy
The premise of this fic is so silly (and i mean that in the best way possible) and it is such a fun read. Great characterization and lots of laughs.
Finite State
by Scarlet_Ribbons
E | 34,240 Words
My summary:
Peter is blackmailed into taking a break from being Spider-Man by one of his co-workers who is threatening to leak his identity. Deadpool is worried by Spider-mans sudden disappearance and recruits Peter(who he doesn’t know is actually Spider-Man) to help him.
I can not recommend this fic enough! It is my all time favorite and such a comfort fic, it just has all the elements I love. Perfect balance of angst, humor, and a great plot.
The 6 Times Peter Wanted To Reveal his Identity (And the 1 Time He Did)
by Spongeekat
M | 28,436 Words
My summary:
Wade doesn’t know that Peter is actually Spider-Man and because of a series of events just thinks he’s a very depressed guy in need of some help. Peter has a huge crush on Wade and struggles with getting the courage to reveal is identity and confess his feelings.
I love the 5 + 1(or in this case 6 + 1) format and I think this was a very unique spin on it. I’m always a sucker for some hurt/comfort.
we're on a highway to hell (with a little bit of heaven)
by dabblingwithwords
E | 107,557
My summary:
Deadpool saves Peter from a Hydra facility that had been using him as a test subject for three years. Peter has to deal with his PTSD and a symbiote as they travel together and fall in love.
Love this one so much. Very well written and tackles some really heavy topics in such a good wau. It still had all the things I like about Spideypool but the characterization felt really fresh and different.
Hands
By schierlingsbecher
E | 25,539 Words
Summary:
“After going through a lot of shitty fights and missions together, Spider-Man reveals the face and name under the mask to Deadpool. Wade is stunned.”
For this one I put the authors summary because it’s been a while since I read this I don’t remember a whole lot of the plot(time for a reread) but I am 100% sure I loved it. I remember it being super sweet and having lots of hurt comfort.

SPIDER-MAN FIC REC
Off The Record - literally my second favorite fanfic of all time, out of all the fandoms I've ever read about. Peter is the badass he should be in all the fics and the plot is SO good and the characterizations are perfect and just oh my god it's so good. The fight scenes?? Best shit I've ever read. It's Spideypool, not mcu Peter obviously, that would be pedophilia, and they're so fucking adorable. The mystery?? AHHHHHHHH SO GOOD. Just read it, you will never be the same, I promise you.
crookedswingset
Summary:
Peter Parker is a corporate lackey whose sole job is to root out problem executives who waste Oscorp’s money and time. Wade Wilson is a reserve Avenger on the hunt for a prize even Iron Man couldn’t nail down: the real identity of everyone’s favorite webhead. Too bad most people think Spider-Man is Harry Osborn.
EDIT:
I just finished reading the sequel and it's just as good, oh my god, is this author fucking serious? This kind of perfection shouldn't fucking exist. I mean, just the writing alone? AHUWSWJDEK

Spideypool Fics
This is just a list of all the Peter Parker/Wade Wilson fics I like on AO3, if you have any recs for me feel free to send me some!
Updated 5/15/24
I Think I Missed a Step ('Cause I'm Fallin' For You) by mokuyoubi
~Peter thinks Wade knows his secret identity, and Wade is really confused by the hot coed who keeps popping up and hanging out with him.~
The Health Benefits and Damages of Being an Avenger by Mushka
~"Tash? You done cleaning up the helpless puppies down there?"
“They’re monkeys. And yes. Status report.”
“I’m up here with Spider-man. He’s bleeding out despite my best efforts. ETA?”~
Join the Club by HashtagLEH
~Homeless and mute after everything Peter has been through, he somehow makes friends with Deadpool, as Spiderman. And then he meets the Avengers, as Peter.
(Peter is underage here but there’s no romance)~
Peter Parker's Home for the Wayward Villain by BeanieBaby
~A really long redemption story.~
are you sure you wanna' love me? by scarlett_starlett
~Spider-Man is everything Peter Parker wishes he could be—witty, confident, loud, sassy, and sexy…
This is no more apparent to him than when Deadpool walks past him without a second glance the first time they meet. It sucks, considering Peter Parker has an embarrassing crush on the ex-merc.~
Mission by Woodlie
~SHIELD has found where Deadpool lives. Normally, this information would just be added to his file, but a civilian named Peter Parker also lives in the apartment with him.~
Petey and Wade discuss the proper way to go about vigilantism (and maybe they fall in love too) by isaDanCurtisproduction
~Deadpool totally crashes Peter's lunch date with some left-overs Aunt May had inundated him with, and Peter is like "Woah, isn't that that murder guy?" and then it kind of spirals from there. And maybe when Peter first saw Deadpool, decked out with fuzzy panda gloves and enough guns to take down a small monarchy, he should have high-tailed it the other way, but where's the fun in that, right?
Right???~
buddy you're a boy make a big noise by orphan_account
~Wade’s hanging by one leg from the firescape outside Peter’s seventh floor apartment, katanas sheathed on his back and a gun on each thigh - but he’s frozen like a deer in the headlights, as if Peter poses some sort of threat, standing like an idiot at the open window in sweatpants and no shirt, only a flashlight and a thin smattering of chest hair to defend himself.~
Oblivious In Love by Atsvie
~Peter and Wade are sort of a thing. Everyone knows. Except for Peter.~
Off The Record by crookedswingset
~Peter Parker is a corporate lackey whose sole job is to root out problem executives who waste Oscorp’s money and time. Wade Wilson is a reserve Avenger on the hunt for a prize even Iron Man couldn’t nail down: the real identity of everyone’s favorite webhead.
Too bad most people think Spider-Man is Harry Osborn.~
The 6 Months Peter Parker was Dead by Spongeekat
~Peter is forced to fake his own death to save the lives of his friends and family. Now living as his secret identity of Spider-Man, he must cope with the pain he's causing his adoptive fathers Tony and Steve, as well as Wade- the boyfriend he left behind- while adjusting to the lonely life of a full-time hero. It's not easy when his decision keeps finding ways to haunt him, and it seems his identity is even harder to hide from the Avengers when he's 'dead.'~
And maybe when Peter first saw Deadpool, decked out with fuzzy panda gloves and enough guns to take down a small monarchy, he should have high-tailed it the other way, but where's the fun in that, right?~
Rich in Love and Life by Adsdragonlover
~Peter keeps running into Wade out of costume, and, remarkably, Wade's actually interested in him. In Peter Parker. And he keeps paying for Peter's things.~
Imperfect Strangers by oprime
~Wade Wilson rents out his extra room to the kid that takes all those action shots of Spider-man. Peter something or other. He seems like he'll be an okay roommate and maybe an in with Spidey Cakes but why does everything about him seem so familiar?~
I dunno how to act or if I should be leavin' by sadieb798
~A sudden weight clamps down on Peter’s right shoulder - a hand, he realizes when the fingers give his arm a brief squeeze - that immediately makes him tense. Why didn’t my spider-sense go off? Peter wonders as he turns to look -And comes face-to-face with Deadpool.~
Hot damn, and you too by Winterchildboobear
~"How do you know my name?" Wade asked, keeping his voice light as he cocked the gun. The boys body tensed at the click of the metal, sitting up he stared at Wade sombrely, his gaze slightly unfocused.~
Shelter From Cold by torchestogether
~The snowstorm was too severe for anyone to sleep out on the streets. Peter knew it was a bad idea, but even Deadpool deserved to have someone looking out for him.~
Deadpool's Dating? What the... by Ninjababe
~Deadpool's dating squeaky clean Peter Parker. SHIELD wants to keep an eye on that.~
Time After Time by glaciya
~“I can’t let you kill him.” Peter watches as Deadpool goes almost unnaturally still, the only movement coming from when he tilts his head at Peter. The odd tingling his spidey-sense has been making all night gets even worse as Peter tries not to shudder under the heavy weight of Deadpool’s gaze.~
Propositions by stuckybarnes
~Wade finally convinces a very tired Peter to go to New York Comic-Con with him and enter a Deadpool and Spider-Man cosplay contest, sure they'll win. Obviously. It doesn't go exactly as expected, and Peter is not thrilled.~
hey you (who the fuck are you) by fancastical *New
~For some reason, Peter thinks Deadpool knows his secret identity so he thinks its not a big deal to chat with the merc in his civilian identity whenever he bumps into him in various locations. Wade, meanwhile, is confused on why a cute but grouchy nerd keeps talking to him like they know each other but hey, its New York! Eccentrics are everywhere and this guy is really cute and doesn’t seem to mind hanging out with him!~
i know your secret by jilliancares
~“I’m your new neighbor,” Wade forged on, oblivious to Peter’s state of shock, and he stuck out a scarred hand. Peter gripped it, feeling numb, and gave it a shake. Did Wade realize who he was? No, clearly not. He was acting way too normally. Wade was one for dramatics.~
The 6 Times Peter Wanted To Reveal his Identity (And the 1 Time He Did) by Spongeekat
~Peter is madly in love with Wade, and plans to meet him on top of his apartment building to reveal his identity. Wade thinks Peter is standing on the ledge ready to jump, and takes it upon himself to make sure he gets home safe and finds a reason to live again.~
took no time with the fall by cherryvanilla
~When the Avengers had briefed him on Deadpool, they played up the Kills People for Money and Has No Real Morals angle and left out the Is Pretty Damn Funny and Charming in a Weird, Terrifying Sort of Way part.~
Peter Parker’s Perfect Shot by GreyLiliy
~Peter found himself unlucky enough to witness one of Deadpool’s hits up close and personal, and to make matters worse, he failed to get a shot of the action. His boss J. Jonah demands Peter make it up to him and what could be more impressive than a perfect shot of Deadpool himself?~
Sister Margaret’s fics
I'll Tell No Lies by doctorestranged
~When a series of murders take place, Peter Parker goes undercover in Sister Margaret’s to get intel on Tony Stark’s prime suspect: Deadpool. Peter goes in hoping to get enough information so that Spider-Man can save the day, but like everything in Peter’s life, it becomes a bit more complicated than that and it soon becomes apparent that he might not be the best fit for the job.~
It's Sweater Weather by Chaze_Come_Down
~After their friendship anniversary Wade gives Peter a special made sweater, it sparks a new age of their friendship and much to Peter's stupidity, decides to wear it out in his everyday wear and happens to stubble upon Sister Margaret's School for Wayward Children. Hoping to just get drunk, he meets a very intrigued and angry Wade Wilson who just wants to know how he got the one of a kind sweater from. Hell breaks loose and both are oblivious idiots.~

Unmasking Spidey by Willow Writes (Willow_1)
~J. Jonah Jameson has offered a frankly ridiculous reward to whoever can unmask the friendly neighbourhood menace. So Wade returns to New York to make some easy money.Meanwhile, Peter Parker looses his job and finds work with his old school friend at Sister Margaret's School for Wayward Children.~
Weasel Knows Best by TreacleTeacups
~In which Weasel calls in a gold card because Peter Parker is too much of a handful even for him and he knows the perfect sucker for the job. Or, the one in which Weasel is sick of the tension and finds a solution.~

hello do u have any good spideypool recs :DDD
I assume you mean fics and I have quite a list actually. If you want the whole of it you can go to my bookmarks but here's a few of my absolute favorites
● Paradise (spread out with a butter knife) by Sarah_Sandwich. This one is kind of soulmate au and I usually don't like those but believe me, this is a masterpiece. It has the whole roommates situation and them being idiots and completely oblivious. Anyways, love it.
● Petey and Wade discuss the proper way to go about vigilantism (and maybe they fall in love too) by isaDanCurtisproduction. I love Peter's characterisation in this. Also, identity porn. And it's revealed in such a creative way too! Honestly, as far as I remember this one doesn't have any angst or anything, just an amazing story of Peter and Wade bonding and falling in love.
● you grow up and you lose touch by scarlett_starlett. In this one Peter and Wade raise a baby Miles. I remember seeing it a few times and never reading but once I did I was amazed. The domestic fluff is gold. If you want to see Peter and Wade struggling to take care of a child while falling in love in the meantime, this is for you.
● I'm Not That Good at Breathing In by Celebrate_the_irony. Look, all I'm going to say is this. Fake dating. (And it's done so well! The humor is just like it needs to be)
● Half Your Age (Plus Seven) by fancastical. I can't explain it, I just love this one. The author is great at writing dialoge which sounds very natural and funny. Like I love the world they created and honestly would read so much more of specifically this Peter and Wade.
● mariposa by BucketofWater. Wade tries to seduce Peter while using a wiki-how article and it's the most amazing thing ever. It's so funny but at the same time has some great serious scenes and is overall a masterpiece. A must read in my humble opinion.
● The Only One by rupertgayes. In this one Wade is hired to spy on Peter and Peter, being the little shit he is, starts talking to him, knowing Wade's mission, just to mess with him. Of course it doesn't turn out like he would think. I have a lot of love for this one, the concept itself is amazing.
Okay I think I need to stop now before this turns into an essay
I hope you'll enjoy at least some of them!
#spideypool#deadpool#spider man#wade wilson#peter parker#ao3#while making this I got so many great memories and now kind of want reread all of these#and you know what#maybe I will

I saw in the tags you mentioned spideypool fic recs 👂 I'm listening
breaking the DC streak to go to Marvel because fun fact I've been into DC for six months and into Marvel comics for eight years so
anyway a majority of my spideypool bookmarks are from 2015 and I have no idea if most of them are any good which is an interesting problem to have but I still have a solid list for y'all
Say Anything...Except That - I was following this from the first chapter and I'm now mutuals with the author which was very fanboy moment for me (if you're seeing this, hi!). it has a lot of old school fanfiction.net quirks to it which might be a bit difficult to swallow if you've only been reading fic for a few years, but honestly I think this fic is really good and holds up to this day. it's been a while since I read it last but iirc Deadpool has to protect Spider-Man or Peter from assassination attempts and there's a lot of pining involved. also mattfoggy ended up having a nice arc because this was 2015 and Daredevil had just aired (this is technically incomplete there's one chapter left but if I had to reread it multiple times when there were only like ten chapters you can handle it)
under attack - more fics by people who are wayyy too cool to have followed me back and yet somehow did? anyway this is part of stackthedeck's team red slash series (ELITE ship fyi) but this one is spideypool focused and has some nice fluff. fighting as flirting idk what else to say it's golden
#NoPlaceLikeHome - do y'all know ask-spiderpool? you should it's one of the best blogs on this damn website and a must-read for spideypool shippers. anyway this is that version of spideypool's first time together which is cute :D short and sweet basically. sciderman has a lot of fics for the spiderman fandom in general and their ask-spiderpool au in particular and they're all worth reading
Dissonance - another longfic that took half a decade to write about deadpool protecting spider-man from harm. I actually don't know why this trope is so good peter really can defend himself but there you go
Perfect Enough - ohm y gOD this fic series is so good. this au hinges on such a tiny difference in peter's history but it makes ALL the difference. anyway in this world basically nobody has a functional secret identity anymore except for spider-man. meanwhile, wade wilson and peter parker start dating. so much plot, two separate longfics each around 140k, good luck this CONSUMED my life
speaking of consumed, rippling - this is part of a series called Into the Multiverse and is based on the Spiderverse film so it's Peter B. which I LOVE (spideybpool FUCKS). the series spun out of the authors' other series and it is, in fact, a pain to read the main entries in the series without reading the other serieses which means that I did spend two weeks doing little to nothing except reading deniigiq's work, but a. it was worth b. this one can be read as a standalone! wade jumps in front of a bullet for peter b and he angsts about it I love it
finally ahem speaking of Peter B, did you know I've been writing spideypool fic since 2015 and I wrote one specifically for spiderverse? I'm a mess (but I'm the mess that you wanted) is really a mix of spiderverse and comic canon like, five years into the future, and deals mostly with like, depression and suicidal ideation on Peter's behalf, but hey there's also a plot AND a happy polyam ending which, what else could you want really
anyway sorry the list isn't longer I didn't bookmark so many of my favorite spideypool fics and now they're lost in the void forever :/
#my team red or defenders folder is massive but so much of it is just daredevil#randomly I have five separate fics saved for jessica jones/matt murdock and I don't even know their ship name#anyway I accidentally clicked post instead of schedule so have fun with this like three hours earlier than intended#spideypool#spideybpool#marvel#marvel comics#spiderverse#fic recs#marvel fic#gail speaks#ask#anonymous

What do you think about middle aged sunflower ????
Okay I'm going to pretend I'm normal and didn't just have a conversation about it yesterday within which I had to restrict myself because of Discord's stupid character limit
Anyway. Gonna talk about fanfics briefly, because fics tend to get more complex with characterization.
A while ago, I got really into Marvel, and for two months I did nearly nothing except read spideypool fanfic all day and night. If you know anything about these two (that isn't from the MCU) (I hate the MCU, I hate it so so much, this is not who Spidey fundamentally is, he is supposed to be a friendly neighborhood loner loser and you Cannot just give him an Iron Man suit and a mentorship with Stark and intergalactic missions at 16 or however old he is in those movies when the essence of the character is that he is an average struggling teenager who just happens to get superpowers and fucks up a lot at the beginning of his journey and mostly works alone and quit the fucking Avengers himself) (wow I started rambling sorry. Ignore that), you'll know that they are both around... 25-30ish, currently. Something like that. The only other fandom that I read as many fanfics of was Ace Attorney, where depending on the timeline, they can be from 23 to like, 35 with a kid. So I'd say me being so invested in a ship with 16 year-olds is... kind of an anomaly.
I don't usually like the coming-of-age, teenage love stuff, and I honestly have never found a single sunflower schoolfic I liked (except Spiral of course but even then they're in college) because all of them tend to... infantilize both Sunny and Basil at great length. And also tear down anything that makes them interesting characters. I think a lot of OMORI artists (that includes writers) are very afraid of doing anything substantial with teenagers, despite, you know, the actual plot of the game, and as a result, a lot of the time most fics where the characters aren't aged up tend to be... incredibly boring. Of course there are some that are good — exceptional even — but in the end all I can think of is the huge gap in... quality? that sounds wrong to say about a creative thing... interesting-ness, let's say (a very personal and subjective concept), when I stopped reading Marvel and went back to OMORI. I stopped reading fanfics altogether because I just couldn't find one I liked as much as the average Marvel fic that I hadn't already read.
Maybe it's a result of the writers themselves being young? I know OMORI's fanbase is generally a lot younger than Marvel's, so that could affect it. I mentioned schoolfics because there's a lot of them and because they were mentioned in my rant yesterday, but it's not really about the fact that they're schoolfics, it's about the fact that more often than not, the setting is the plot, and since it's just your average highschooler writing their favorite blorbos into their own environment and projecting (which is very cool btw, 99% of my own writing is projecting), the plot is... basically nonexistant. It's boring. It's boring and the characterization is usually dull. But even outside of schoolfics, I think I stopped trying to read fics that start with Sunny getting out of the hospital after the True Ending for the same reason : it's often plain and plotless and boring. And, fuck, my favorite books and mangas and such are slice of life, I'm all for mundane plots! But there's a difference between a mundane plot/realism and just no plot at all.
(This is not, like, an attack of OMORI writers who make schoolfics or fics that start with the above mentioned premise, btw, I want to make that very clear. It's very much a personal preference. I think it's boring because all of the fics I read in Marvel had a very unique plot/premise is my point. And also because the characters were a lot more mature and complex. Different strokes for different folks)
I think that's what I'm kind of sad about. OMORI characters tend to be complex and morally grey in their own way, and people tend to forget about that because they're teenagers and obviously no one can do no wrong before the ripe age of 18. Children are all innocent and therefore cannot be more morally complex than cinnamon roll soft boys/girls (looking pointedly at Sunny, Aubrey and Basil. But mostly Basil). Also, I think people tend to straight-up forget that 16 year-olds aren't, like, 10? Of course they're not going to be as mature as grown adults, especially Sunny OMORI, Dissociative Amnesia World Champion, but like... When I was 16 reading OMORI fanfics, half the time I was like "a 16 year-old would not fucking say that". But also generally more mature characters are inevitably more interesting to explore to me because I prefer more mature themes — I'm simply extremely upset at the fact that people don't explore the complexity that's already there when they're 16, including the very mature themes that are already there.
TL;DR: I love middle aged sunflower, I love middle aged ships in general ! In fact, I will tend to prefer sunflower when it's aged up.
(... I probably should've led with that.)
#rant#cough. that was one hell of a rant#sorry as i mentioned i literally talked (read: complained) about this to two different people in the last week#i'm kind of insane about sunflower. very deranged. i have many thoughts about them.#don't ask me about characterization because I will make a whole fucking essay#(((ask me about characterization please i will make a whole fucking essay)))#ask#xxl1ghtxx#i am so sorry I spent half an hour writing an answer that shouldve just been 'I like them! :D' with a doodle#unfortunately I am not normal about sunflower and their age.#I NEED TO STOP OR I'M GOING TO RAMBLE MORE IN THE TAGS. For the ship game: Harringrove, and Spideypool.
heeee! Thank, you ihni!!💞
harringrove
What made you ship it?
Ohhh, that scene ofc.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
the more i wrote about them the more parallelisms between them i kept finding, and i just couldn't resist to that. they're two sides of the same coin in my mind. but also, the chemistry, the way you can feel just how they would've fallen in love hard and violent and fast, just the same as everything was between since the begging.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
i guess i do. popular to some, unpopular to the other some. but— ship and let ship. no need for me to tell.
spideypool
What made you ship it?
fic! somehow i stumbled upon some i don't even remember when and 💖💖 they're just too cute.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
I like to imagine it all starting in a rooftop somewhere, and old, ratty couch dragged up by some stoner neighbor one lost in time afternoon in some kind of romantic outburst to 'wake up to the sunrise' if had somebody asked before he left the building for good leaving both the couch and the romanticism behind except— one of them finds it, one day. then the other. it's the most strangely coincidentic of all coincidences but it happens so they just, sit down together, sometimes, pick up with the waking up to the sunrise part minus the waking. spend together the whole night. make each other company. wade talks and peter laughs and peter talks and wade laughs and they watch together a good bunch of fucking amazing sunrises. somewhere along the way they pick up too with the romantic part.
in my case the make each other company is the most important part and my favoritething, that's them for me 🌟 also, they indeed would be crazy cute together :D
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
same as above 🤟

Fic data from 2023
Happy new year! This was a big year for me because I got back into reading fanfiction, and boy howdy did I read a lot of it. Over the year I tracked what fics I read got that sweet, sweet data about how much of what I read and when. So now it's time for it to all come together! I put the major stats above the read more line, and below are some other little details about the tags and types of fics. Without further ado, let's get into it!
My goal this year was to read 1000 fics which I realized around June was NOT going to happen. I actually read about 651 fics including re-reads. Not too shabby!
The total words of all the fics I started was 5,196,016 and multiplying by the percent finished (could be >100 for re-reads, or <100 for dnf) I read about 6,214,399 words. So, HOLY BALLS 6.2 MILLION WORDS???? JFC. THATS LIKE 16K EVERY SINGLE DAY. ok i will never again tell myself i didn't read enough this year. Can you imagine if I had hit 1000 fics?
Something else fun about the word count is that the average length was about 1584 words/fic.
My top months by number of fics were February (108 fics), April (88 fics), and March (66 fics). In terms of word count, my top months were February (1.4 million words), January (1.16 million words) and August (804k words).
Keep reading for graphs and data about tags!
Before we get into tags, here's the graphs for the stuff I mentioned earlier. Keep in mind that the first two are about fics I started, not necessarily finished, so the count may vary a bit.
The top three longest fics I read were meet me where the light greets the dark at 115514 words, Subito Sempre at 107053 words, and This Game We Play at 101717 words. Those also happen to be some of my favorite fics of all time.
Here's a graph about the length of the fic I read. "Format of a oneshot" is something that may be multiple chapters but was short enough that it could've been one. Idk this database was built on vibes.
I know 54% of the authors! Speaking of, there were 208 distinct authors I read from this year. My top author was JynxedOracle at 33 fics!
These are the fics I re-read most:
OK tag time! Let's start with relationship:
VegasPete almost had it for a while but KimChay will always be my ride or die. Also, if you can't tell, I basically read almost exclusively KinnPorsche The Series fics. For my top fandom outside of KPTS, that would be MCU, and my top non-KP relationship was SpideyPool. My highest rarepair within KPTS will go to my grave or the groupchat. :*)
My highest read additional tag by a WIDE margin (I'm sorry mother) was porn without plot. (Guess that explains why the average words is so low).
I was gonna post the graphs of all my tags but not only are they a mess, I simply refuse to out myself like that this publicly.
On to Warnings and Rating:
...Don't be ashamed of me, I'm ashamed enough of myself.
Final thing! I met my goodreads goal of 100 books by adding a random book every time I read up to 80k words! My goal for 2024 is to find god and maybe read something other than porn :)
Thanks for reading!

You’ve Got a Fire in Your Belly by I_want_to_believe. Spideypool, Mature, 40k words. Summary: After a particularly cold night, Peter Parker finds himself seeking a warm meal from the local soup kitchen. He is shocked to find that the person serving him is none other than his patrol buddy, Deadpool. But why is Deadpool here and what does he want from an unmasked Peter Parker? Also known as: The One Where Peter is Homeless. https://archiveofourown.org/works/24160567 The Peter whump was fantastic in this, and the hurt/comfort and cuddles from Wade matched so well. The angst and identity reveal suspense was played into their romance so well. Excellent story full of sustained oxytocin hits. Added to my favorite Spideypool fics
I Like Birds by chinashopbull. Spideypool, 200k words, Explicit. Summary: Deadpool does a better job understanding Spider-Man's strengths and limitations as an autistic super than pretty much anyone else does. This doesn't stop Peter from getting involved with a cult while investigting a series of suicide bombers. He's just that much of a disaster, autistic or not. I play fast and loose with canon but try to stay true to (what I perceive to be) the spirit of the characters. https://archiveofourown.org/works/14697780 First, just want to say the Avengers portrayed as more gray and untrustworthy than their press would have you believe is a favorite take of mine and I loved to see it here. Most importantly though: autistic!Peter is such a compelling character. The author merged Peter's powers with his autism to craft some emotional punches that I did not see coming which I adored. Peter's stress response to go sticky without releasing, and also wanting to be a weighted blanket for Wade. SO GOOD. The inclusion of sign language was the best too; just the whole idea that Wade and Peter have put the effort in to understand each other better than anyone 🥰🥰🥰 Homeless!Peter exists in this story, which is always harrowing to read (in the best way). I'm ace so I skimmed it but I'm pretty sure the author totally delivered on smokin' hot powerplay-y sex scenes. As with pretty much all the stories I love and recommend, a fantastic calm + happy ending with everything and everyone coming together well.
this is the life by jilliancares. Spideypool, Explicit, 38k. Summary: An up-and-coming masked hero is revealed to be a serial killer, and the public is terrified. Everyone's demanding that Spider-Man reveal his identity for their own safety, and as if that isn't enough, Deadpool is hired to make sure it happens. Peter's stressed enough as it is with work and rent and school and a new super villain cropping up — he just doesn't have time for this. He especially doesn't have time for Deadpool accosting Peter Parker, wanting Spider-Man's photographer to help track down the elusive hero. Or: Everything seems to be going wrong all at once. It's a miracle Peter hasn't had a breakdown. https://archiveofourown.org/works/35860972 Excellent identity reveal angst fic. I also loved how scary and intelligent Deadpool was depicted, how Peter wasn't underestimating him ever. The author made the identity reveal build up so much that it was so fun to read the actual scene. So happy to have read this fic 🥰

20 Questions Writer Meme:
I was nominated by the lovely @ashilrak to participate in this. Answering the these questions was a fun- a little walk down memory lane and a reminder of how much I've grown.
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
47!
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
189419
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Percy Jackson at the moment! I've written snippets for The Magnus Archives and Danny Phantom. I've also contemplated writing for Marvel for a while.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. A God in Chains (3151)
2. At the Armrest of a God (3149)
3. we both have bad taste in men, but at least we have each other (2073)
4. cookies aren't the only hot thing here (1713)
5. you and i until eternity (1705)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Complicated answer. I did in the past until I dealt with some harrassment/negativity with a previous fandom. It scared me away from interacting with any that I didn't really know on my own fics. I've found a lovely new community, so I'm trying to respond to comments more to show everyone how much I appreciate them.
6. What's the fic you wrote that has the angstiest ending?
I actually had to skim a few of my fics to remember their endings, lol. My answer is probably:
another flower in a garden of tragedies
Or
Of New Blood and Old Hyacinths
7. What's the fic you wrote that has the happiest ending?
I've written a lot of fluff with happy endings, so I'll just answer this with the fic with my favorite ending.
"we both have bad taste in men, but at least we have each other" is a win for the lesbians and was just so much fun to write. I've gotten a lot of requests for a continuation of it, and I've had some ideas, but nothing enough to put to paper.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Lmao, yes. I've orphaned about 7 fics from a previous fandom because of the toxicity of the fandom (My Hero Academia). It was everything from demanding updates to trying to 'cancel' me for no reason but because they didn't like how I portrayed a character. On my most recent fics, there hasn't been much overtly negative- just jokes/comments that don't land well. Overall, I'm happy with my new community.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, lmao. I write hedonistic shit that would make even the most stone cold nun blush. Looking through my fics makes me realize I really enjoy temple/altar defilement.
10. Do you write crossovers?
None yet, but I'm not opposed! I enjoy reading them when they tick all of my boxes, but I will admit, I can be pretty picky.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
None that I know of, but I wouldn't be surprised.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Just one. I thought it was very sweet and adored the fact that someone liked my writing enough to spend time translating it.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Just one, but I'm very open to doing more! I've written in a rouns robin, but I think I would prefer doing a full co-write with one or two other authors.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Very hard, but probably spideypool. I've had a Spider-Man fixation for about half my life, and I simply love Deadpool. Besides spideypool, probably perpollo or jonmartin.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but don't think you ever will?
I don't think I have one? I have 4 wips currently. One has an ending well in sight. Another has 15k words already, and I refuse to let all that go to waste.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Descriptions and pacing! I've been told a few times that people enjoy reading my au's because I don't infodump all at once, I make the gathering of information feel natural and comfortable. I personally love my visual metaphors.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Time management. I'm generally very busy and get easily distracted. Getting myself to sit down and actually write is a pain.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I try to write around using another language if I don't know a native speaker who could help me. Writing in German would be no problem for me (I studied it in college), but I would shy away from anything else.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Attack on Titan (I was in 8th grade, lol). I published it on Wattpad, and it did fairly well before I deleted it.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
This is almost impossible to answer, but I loved writing "And Spring Will Come Again." It was for a fic exchange that I pinch hitted for. I went a bit overboard with the nature imagery and metaohors, but I had fun researching folklore + mythology. Anything that requires research is very fun to me.
I, sappho-of-space, hereby nominate @celestialepiphany .

15, 19, 24, 26, and 30
15. favorite weather for writing
Jesus. I don't know! I've literally never thought about it. There are benefits to all the weather, I think, when it comes to nurturing writing but I think I like wet fall weather the best. When the leaves have all fallen and are turning to mush on the ground and hot drinks start becoming a necessity again. But that is all tied up in my cabin in the woods, bog witch dream future so... I mostly write when I can write.
19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic
Dude. YOU KNOW.
When I was writing bloody theater, the one-shot inspired by spirit box, I needed to research Victorian era medical practices so I more or less knew what the operating theater looked like and what kinds of tools Loki would be likely to use during the vivisection. Which led to me reading an entire book about Joseph Lister who is /sort of/ the father of modern medicine in the sense that he pioneered ways to minimize infection during surgery.
It was such a wild book and so interesting. I was literally sending you screenshots of some of the shit these Victorian doctors did. Like literally nothing has made me feel more kind toward current healthcare than that book.
24. how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?
I usually stop writing and spend more time doing other hobbies. This past week I've been feeling sort of "meh" about Midori Sour and so haven't been writing at all BUT (!) I've read a ton of books, finished several crochet projects, and went to a few open shoots.
This very adult way of dealing with it is relatively new though. I used to just lay upon my fainting couch with my hand upon my brow and LAMENT for an hour before getting back to the word mines.
26. are you able to write with other people around?
Yes. I kind of have to be able to or I would never write at all.
Back in the day I was very much a "complete and total silence" writer but needs must when the devil drives which means I've had to adjust because I will never experience silence again.
(All that being said, I still think I'm most productive, and write better, when I can sit uninterrupted in a quiet space for an hour or more.)
30. share a fic you’re especially proud of
Goddamn it.
I don't feel pride for fics because hitting post is the exact same thing as shoving them into a shallow grave and shoveling dirt over the body. They are dead to me. Gone. I've moved on now.
I don't knooooow.
I guess I'm proud of bloody theater because it was (1) a labor of love that landed exactly as I'd hoped and (2) it's something I never thought I'd have the balls to put in fic form (let alone ROMANTIC fic form). I'm also super proud of A Particular Set of Skills because it's very balls to the wall in a different way and has format that scared me a little. That one was not so much a labor of love as a Dear John letter to Spideypool. He Speaks Daggers is also probably up there. I think it's one of my mostly tightly plotted fics and it's emotional and romantic in a way that's very special to me.
Ask me again in three months and the answer will have changed to my most recent fics from that point in time, I'm sure.

20 questions for fic writers Thank you @babblingflowers for the tag!!
How many works do you have on ao3?
45 minus the podfic which i don't count but maybe I should
what's your total ao3 word count?
308,676
3.What fandoms do you write for?
writing now mostly marvel comics specifically fantastic four and spider-man but before that it was that weird soup of marvel where it's both the comics movies and shows blended into a beautiful mess
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Getting together for the kids, space boys, one little slip, what's mine is ours, let's see how far you've come
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I used to be really good about it, but in the same way I get overwhelmed by responding to online messages comments have been a lot but I still love them so much! I always respond if it's a recent fic and I swear I will reply to the 60 in my inbox soon
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending
either "put me together and take me apart" because it ends with Matt and Peter breaking up because they're still grieving their exes but it feels so much less sad because they get back together in the sequel.. Or "ignorance is bliss" because Jon (tma) forgets Martin exists
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
One little slip, Johnny and Peter get together and go to a premier as the human torch and spider-man
Do you get hate on fics?
Not on any that are currently up...
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yeah, it's been very gender queer lately idk what that means but smut has just become a vessel to display the beauty of queer bodies recently
Do you write crossovers?
not anymore, but my second most popular fic is one so...
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not to my knowledge
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah I had a good omens fic translated into russian it was good old fashion lover boy
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no but I'm trying to cyberbully one of my friends into co-writing one with me (Ash if you're seeing this, we've gotta do it)
What's your all-time favorite ship?
All time is hard it's gotta be Percabeth but like currently it's parksborn
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I will finish them it'll happen I swear to god it will, don't look at the parksborn divorce fic I promise it'll update one day
What are your writing strengths?
I think what I have up currently on ao3 has really good dialogue but in my current wips I'm really vibing with like I guess internal thoughts, they feel in character but not it's not so much information that it feels like telling instead of showing
What are your writing weaknesses?
schedules, discipline, finishing anything, my pacing is a little weird at times and I'm always worried about "he would not fucking say that"
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't because I don't know any languages other than English, I'd reach out to someone that actually spoke the language but the reader would probably just google translate it and that'd take them out of the story and the translation wouldn't be good but I guess I could do a footnote. Idk I haven't found a story that has use for it yet
First fandom you wrote for?
Why couldn't it have been the first fandom I read for? ...it was Hamilton, I'm not happy about it either
Favorite fic you've written?
either the parksborn divorce fic because of an unpublished scene or it's you, it's always been you because of the spideypool fight. I think I just love reading couples fighting where they go for the throat (metaphorically if not also physically)
guess I've gotta tag people @evilwickedme @waterme-stories @seek--rest and all the other lovely writer mutuals who I'm forgetting

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Thank you so much for the tag @reallyreal-madeingold!! It was long, so I thought I'd make a new post I did not know you wrote a Willow/Spike, and I am going to have to check it out tonight I adore them.
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? I have 122 works on my Ao3
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 887,007, which for some reason made me laugh really hard, seven little words.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Mostly for Supernatural, but I've written for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Spider-man/Deadpool, Merthur, Arrowverse, and starting to write some more DC stories
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Distraction: Scars - One of my favorites of mine, a spideypool story.
This is a Bad Idea - This is just a little smut I wrote for spideypool
Waiting for the Perfect Time - A Merthur piece I wrote with some HC of mine
Distractions -Voice(s) - This is part two of the Spideypool Distraction series
Breakfast - Another Merthur smut piece.
5. Do you respond to comments? I do! I love comments, I normally respond to them whenever I'm updating a story or posting a new one anymore though so sometimes it takes me a bit to get back to people, but I do!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Umm I feel like I've answered this before, but I don't remember what I said and now I don't know what to say. Maybe Not Yet? It is a prequel to Waiting for the Perfect Time and without reading that one, it does not have a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I feel like I write a lot of bittersweet and untraditional happy endings. I leave them in a better place than they were a lot of the times, but they are not always happy. Despite my want to always go for no happy endings I tend to write them anyway. But~ ah I think maybe Conversations in the Dark I feel like that one is pretty optimistic at the end.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No I wouldn't say hate maybe some discouraging comments but not hate, no.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Hahaha, I write porn, let's be clear. It's not sex there is a difference. Ah, I write a lot of rough stuff, some bloody stuff, some soft loving stuff, mmm, and I've been starting to write some more variations of bodies doing it. So that's fun
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I don't write crossovers, but I have done a crossover between two of my stories, and it was crazy. It was like two years in the making and it was so much fun. Taste of Cherry is a crossover between a very rom-com soul bond sabriel fic I wrote and a dark horror-themed version of sabriel. It was thrilling to have them meet and play off each other.
11. What's the craziest one you've written? Totally missed this one before but ah idk I write some weird stuff. Maybe Holy Hole? Since I made a world just so I could have a sabriel tentacle smut fic.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yup a few, I am always open to getting my fics translated so more people can enjoy them. I just ask that the translator asks first, tells me, and share the link to the translation so it's easy to find from the original. It's a joy whenever someone wants to.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have! It was very recently, and a wonderful experience! Freaks Like Us, is a Buffy verse fic featuring Dru, Spike, and Angelus and lots of smut. It was so fun to write with @aufredpratt and to get help and advice writing women.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? Oh, this is so hard, I love so many ships from so many fandoms. I...I don't know especially since it's different when talking about who I'd love to write the most and who I like to read the most. I'm sorry I refuse to choose. x_x
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Once and Future Soulmates. It's an unpublished WIP that I just picked up again yesterday, but it is such a big Merthur project, and I'd love to finish it but also oh my god it's so much.
16. What are your writing strengths? I'm bad at these kinds of questions. I think characterization and world-building. I like poking at stuff until it breaks and then making sure it won't do that. My worlds have many layers that never come up, but they're there.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Fight scenes (though I think I'm getting better... maybe), word choice, and conveying fear and some other emotions.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Unless its one I'm fluent in, or have someone who is helping me I probably won't and find another way to convey language being said in another language.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings~~
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Still Distractions: The K-word/Distractions: The New Kid. They both overlap the same year in Spideypool's relationship. I love how it came out and I will always be happy to have written out my HC comic mass up of them. Maybe they're just still my all-time OTP....
No Pressure Tags: @idabbleincrazy @heavenssexiestangel, @michaelmilligan, @fantasticstoryteller, @spn-fanfic-reblog-writes, @incorrectcoldflashblog, @toutes-les-routes @angst-is-love-angst-is-life anyone else who would like to!

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you for tagging me <3
How many works do you have on ao3?
69 lmaooo
what’s your total ao3 word count?
407,178 which is. A lot
What fandoms do you write for?
My current main fandoms are DC comics and marvel comics, but I've also been writing a lil btvs. Historically I've written a fuckton of Harry Potter, The Witcher (TV), a decent amount of leverage and daredevil (TV), the raven cycle, all for the game, and a few other fics in some random fandoms
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
before we get married, I need to get permission from batman; hang on til the chaos is through; in which an entire university becomes far too involved in Pankratz and Vengerberg's love life; This is all just HR paperwork waiting to happen; and The Sound Of My Own Voice (Asking You To Stay)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to every single comment, with exactly one exception, that absolutely haunts me. The person just kept replying to me no matter what I said and I couldn't make them stop
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending
Mornings, for sure. One of my first ever spideypool fics back from 2016. Peter dies at the end. know we're not together (but I won't forget you) is a close second though
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh I don't know, I have a lot of happy endings but they usually follow a fuckton of angst. Maybe in which the daily planet staff are 100% convinced that the kent-lanes are fucking superman, but I wouldn't call that a traditional ending
Do you get hate on fics?
Nah, although I've had some unnecessarily harsh public bookmarks
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh yeah. My first ever smut sucked but then I wrote so much in 2021 for the witcher that I actually got pretty good at it, or at least as mlm sex. I have some body dysmorphia issues around vaginas and I never feel like I write that well. Anyway I tend to go for excessively sweet or incredibly kinky and borderline unhealthy fics
Do you write crossovers?
Only the buffy/jason fic, unless you count daredevil tv and marvel comics or itsv and marvel comics to be crossovers
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not as far as I know
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes!! It's incomplete unlike the original fic but someone translated most of I'm a mess (but I'm the mess that you wanted) into Russian. This wasn't the question but @flowerparrish also podficced the first chapter of my jaybuffy fic!!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes but I removed it from my page following an extremely brutal and somewhat traumatizing fight with some of the people I was cowriting it with
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Mmmm I don't know, that's a good question. For a long time I would've answered jily. Spideypool is probably the main contender now, although spuffy could give it a run for its money - despite the fact that I've only written one fic for them (and implied them in my jaybuffy fic), I've adored them since I was 13, which is. Over 12 years ago fuck
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Mmm I'm always hoping I'll finish my wips, but the ones I doubt the most are my yennskier fic (no progress in over a year), my literati fic (although I did make some progress about a month ago), and I don't plan on going back to my drarry Hogwarts professor au for obvious reasons
Edit: OH ALSO the Witcher s2 outsider pov is never ever getting finished I'm sorry I know I promised it to a lot of people in the comments but it's not gonna happen
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and characterizations imo
What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions my fucking God I struggle so much with them
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm fluent in Hebrew and my first ever fic was in Hebrew, so if that came up I'd feel pretty comfortable with it. Anything else I'd have to approach someone who spoke the language, and I'd rather just write it in English and say it was in the other languages
First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter and again, it was in Hebrew. I recently described what it was about to a group of friends who called it, and I quote, "adorable". I was ten or eleven at the time and I do not plan on reposting it.
Favorite fic you’ve written?
That's a toughie. I think probably I'm a mess (but I'm the mess that you wanted), but Under the Pink Hood, Of Three Times Lily Evans Changed Her Mind About James Potter, and know we're not together (but I won't forget you) are all honorable mentions
I'm not a tagger - I usually don't even participate in these kinds of posts - but I guess @not-the-blue @supergirlboy @penny-anna and any other mutual or even follower are invited to participate if you wanna

conflict anon here again and im SO GLAD you agree man. i think what really gets me about it is that i was specifically searching for conflict-packed fic and that's why i was so let down. i also feel like authors are entitled to write whatever they want forever but it just FEELS to me when im reading their fics like they would be happier writing something more domestic, and i want to find something where they're more feral.
i want the ID reveal and the relationship-confirming to cause MORE problems, hell i want them to get together and blow out into a massive argument and breakup then have breakup sex and get back together and then realize the sex didn't actually fix anything and then break up again but they can't stop being obnoxiously in each others space either way
but it feels like fic im trying to find like this fights the very concept of conflict so hard and wants one singular plot point to fix everything as quickly as possible without even walking me through the characters' insight as to HOW that fixed anything other than "problem over, let's be together forever now!" let alone the level of conflict that'd be so engaging like that with a million curveballs
im so aware its a personal taste thing its just been frustrating reading fic after fic after fic and finding so little of it. its no ones fault i can't find fic perfectly tailored to my tastes specifically, i just tend to ramble about my frustration. you and oprime and sci and a couple other authors are my favorite for writing it the way you do, she's not gonna die today will always be one of my favorite fics of all time because it gave me that ever persisting conflict driven by their obsessive need to stick together even when they're fighting every step of the way. i just always get into a longwinded ramble when this comes up and i was hoping youd like to share your thoughts so thank you for answering 🙏
I think this pairing kind of presents a unique challenge to writers (at least it did for me) that action and conflict is such a huge, borderline essential part of their canonical dynamic. If you're not used to writing/utilizing both physical and emotional conflict, your stories can often fall so, so flat for these two, specifically because that's the fuel that makes the engine run. The first true action scene I ever wrote was chapter two of love-punch, and I like, now I'm an action writer for life now (editing an action sequence as we speak) but I had to get out of my comfort zone because I realized that type of stories I wanted to write about them required them to beat the shit out of each other to work.
These two are definitely not problem solvers so much as shit starters. I feel like for them, the problems they actually have to solve are the ways they perceive each other (because both of them heavily project onto the other) and what that means long-term for their relationship - every other form of conflict, to me, is up for grabs forever when it comes to their relationship. The shit talking, ass kicking, and fire starting is what makes them, them.
I've said this before, but a lot of people write fanfiction as an exploration of their own ideal relationships. (which is absolutely fine) I think spideypool is a difficult sell though, for that specific fantasy, because their relationship operates on instability and violence primarily. I think most people aren't looking for a relationship where your communication consists of name-calling, beat downs, and moral differences so severe it makes you almost kill each other a lot. That, does not make a good, a good or healthy real world relationship but SUCH a fun fictional one. People are going to write their fantasies out, though, and that fantasy is that one kiss/one fuck/one confession creates relationship fueled bliss forever because many people, hate conflict - both experiencing and reading it. It sucks, if you're a reader who likes problems. I also always say this, but I encourage you to channel that energy into writing your own work. It's what I did, and it paid off so great for me because now I have 12 works specifically catered to my own personal needs exclusively. Fandom is always going to suck, but you can be the change! (and if you don't want to write, that's cool too, sometimes it's good just to get your qualms out into the world and find people who agree)
tagging @primewritessmut again so she can read your praise straight from the source.
It's a tough fandom if you really like their canonical dynamic more than their fanon one, I feel you man. I am always holding a prayer circle that more writers who like problems more than they like easy resolutions joins in and starts writing some real fucked up shit.
#mailbox#peter parker confession booth#there's for sure an audience but you have to like. really enjoy writing about conflict and difficult solutions to said conflict#and that's a tragically small pool of people (lol) in this fandom#it means a lot of filtering. a lot of scrolling the top page#and for me. a lot of writing my own shit when I am unhappy#I again#feel you so hard on this one#conflict rules
