You think I would want to lie about something like that? I’ve been deliberating making the post about it since 2021. Not because it does sound like a ego lie sorta thing but because im genuinely afraid it might’ve been true
#I just got back from my brain magnet depression treatment thing and I rode the euphoria#i always thought it was weird that everyone started using the word almost immediately after I had entered it into my vocabulary#but then I actually checked and it orginated in the same year/place#I was hoping it was from like 90s rap culture or something that shifted the blame#this will be used against me in my war crimes trial I’m sure u_u

Your wish is my command-Klance Month Week 3
So I was supposed to upload a fic yesterday for the end of week 2 but because my first fic couldn’t be reblogged (I didn’t realize that Shallura, even when they broke up before the story started, was considered controversial, but those are the rules so that was my fault) I decided to not force myself to write a story that wasn’t working. It just required a lot of back story that maybe if it had been in the first one, wouldn’t of been so hard to write. Anyway, this story is inspired by my klance BB from like 2018, which still isn’t technically finished so there are a few spoilers, but the main things: Lance had cancer and had a year left to live. The reason he could see his Shinigami Hunk and Pidge is reveled in this but how they find out will be told in the final chapter that will hopefully be released before the end of the year. Hunk gave Lance a bit of blood to help turn him into a healthy, slightly older Altean, posing under the name Isamu, Prince of Altea. Keith is also a singer, who went under the name Red (orginal) but later switches labels, also to be revealed in the story. Hunk and Pidge are given a chance to become humans again after Lance is saved by a surgery that removes the chance and doesn’t damage his vocal cords. Again, all to be revealed in the last chapter. It’s called Forgotten Prince’s Song by sasuhina_gal on AO3 if you want to check it out. Anyway, this is from after all that, enjoy! Also, if anyone cares, Keith’s song is TAEMIN’s ECLIPSE from his last Japanese CD release. I’ve got a TAEMIN problem. Meteor Shower/Promise
Keith watched his reflection as he went through his choreography. He was so focused on watching his moves, he didn’t see the door to the dance studio open, but he did hear the person calling his name.
“Keith! Keith, Keith, Keith!”
he turned in time to catch a hyperactive 21 year old jumping on him. Bright blue eyes and dyed white hair, similar to the kind he’d fallen for, but it wasn’t the looks that made Keith fall for Lance. It was that bright smile and his sunny personality. Even when Lance had to hide behind the mask of popular singer, Lance was still himself and that’s what Keith had fallen for.
Their story was an odd one, odd even for someone who was half Galra and happened to become a member of the universe biggest security group, while also being a J-pop star. Lance had grown up with sarcoma, a tumour that sat right on his vocal cords. Years before they met, a person Lance cared for a lot had died in a plane crash, but instead of moving on, he attached himself to Lance. That caused Lance to see the Shinigami that suddenly appeared in front of him one day. He asked them to help him achieve his one dream before they took his soul, to become a singer. That started his whole adventure of becoming Isamu, Prince of Altea; Altea Records’ most popular singer. Keith first meet Lance as Isamu, back when Lance had the Shinigami making him into an older Altean. he’d met Lance without the mask later and even though Keith spent most of his time around Isamu, other than his name and age, Lance never lied to Keith – other than the whole Shinigami thing, but he found that stuff out later. Of course those same Shinigami had become Lance’s closest friends and wouldn’t allow Lance to pass on, not when they wanted him to live for so much more. A surgery that could remove the cancer and save his vocal cords was found, Keith found out the truth and realised that even as the real Lance, his feelings were the same and in a turn of event, the Shinigami were given another chance at life.
Now 2 years later, healthy and able to sing without having to hide behind a persona, he and Lance were still together. Keith was sure that after all the things they’d been through together, their relationship was strong. He was yet to be proven wrong, and would not like to be.
“Yes Lance? How can I help you?” Keith asked, running a hand through Lance’s hair. It was wind swept, no doubt from his running. He could see the brown roots starting to show. While he first meet Lance while he had white hair, he liked Lance’s natural colour better.
“There’s gonna be a meteor shower this weekend!” Lance shouted.
“Indoor voices Lance.”
Now that he had the ability to be as loud as he wanted without coughing up a storm or feeling pain, Lance was constantly as loud as possible.
“Sorry, but meteor shower! We have to go. I rarely got the chance to go outside because of how sick I was all the time. And we won’t have to bother my grandmother since I moved back into my apartment.”
It killed Keith to destroy the utter excitement Lance had. “Um, Lance. We do have a performance this weekend at Music Core?”
Lance’s face dropped as he remembered. “Oh. I forgot. I don’t know how. I’m doing my new single then.”
“And it goes pretty late depending on the order.”
Lance sunk down more. “Right. Aww, I really wanted to go see this. It would have been perfect. I mean, we haven’t done a space wide tour yet and we talked about performing under the stars. Just sitting there watching all those shooting stars go by, it would have been so perfect.”
Keith pulled Lance closer, knocking his forehead against Lance’s gently, being sneakily happy just how much taller he was than Lance. It still gave him great glee, especially since Lance always got annoyed by it.
“I’m sorry. I know with our schedules, dates haven’t exactly been easy. But at least our schedules line up.”
“I guess.” Lance said still pouting.
“Hey, I bet you can’t do my choreo.”
That got Lance’s attention. “I so can. And I can do it better.”
“Really? Prove it.”
Keith let himself be playfully shoved away, letting Lance have full range of the floor as he restarted the music, grabbing his phone. He joined Lance in doing the choreo, ignoring how Lance overexaggerated some of the moves where Keith would be singing. Instead his focus was on his phone, texting Lance’s manager and practical sister Allura. he’d gladly admit it, he didn’t like seeing Lance sad and he’d do whatever possible to keep a smile on his face.
____
“My god I can’t believe we ever worried you wouldn’t like him as Lance. doesn’t matter if he’s Isamu or Lance, you fold like wet paper for him.” Pidge teased as the stylist fixed Keith’s clothes.
Ok so maybe he bugged Allura to see if she could convince the people in charge of the order to put Lance and Keith first, even though they had to technically stay to the end. And maybe he also bugged Thace to borrow the car for them to come in so he could take Lance to see the meteor shower. If they could finish in time. Things might be live but there were only so many things they could actually control.
Keith looked over at the former Shinigami. “Don’t you have a brother to go bother?”
“And not bother you? But it’s so fun?”
“Where’s Hunk when you need him?” Keith asked himself, wondering where the much older singer was. Probably shadowing Allura. He was learning to become a manager, though he’d love to see which person would be able to understand their odd family.
“Keith, 2 minutes.” a stage hand called.
Keith glanced over at the TV that showed the stage. Lance and his female backup dancers were reaching the climax of Lance’s song. Just had to get through a song.
“I take it you’d like me to inform Lance to change back into his regular clothes when he gets back into his dressing room.”
Pidge might love teasing Keith and Lance about their relationship, but she had put in a lot of work into trying to get them together.
“If you could.”
with a nod from the stylist, Keith headed out the door and got his mic put on before he passed Lance and Allura.
“Meet me in my room after.” Keith called as he took the stage.
“And now taking the stage. His popularity has yet to waver even after switching labels. Though with a boyfriend like Lance, who could blame him for switching. Please welcome Keith, with his song ECLIPSE.
____
“Keith, where are we going? We go back out on stage after the show is over to say goodbye to everyone.” Lance asked, letting his boyfriend pull him out the backdoor. After he performed on stage, Pidge shoved the clothes he came in at him and told him to change. Then she slapped a hat on him and gave him a face mask and shoved him in Keith’s dressing room.
“Stay here till lover boy comes to get you.” she ordered before going to find Matt.
Lance had learned that Pidge’s plans usually didn’t end up like she’d planned but he decided to humour her. She was telling him to wait for Keith, what was the worse that could happen?
Of course, now they were heading for the car they came in, dressed in non-descriptive clothes in hopes to not be noticed by the paparazzi or fans outside the broadcasting station. What had Pidge gotten him into?
“Whoa, there’s question I’m still asking today.” Lance muttered, climbing into the car.
“You’ll see, don’t worry.”
“Still can’t help but be worried.” Lance said, pulling his hat down as the pulled out of their spot and towards the exit. Doing this 3 years and he still couldn’t get used to the amount of fans and such who stood outside the broadcasting station just to get a glimpse of their favourite star. Even if he had been a healthy kid, Lance still couldn’t imagine doing this for hours.
Luck was on their side and they weren’t too noticed when they left. He wouldn’t be surprised though if they still got found out though.
“Are you really not going to tell me where we’re going?” Lance asked, as they started heading on the main roads, away from the city.
“You’ll see. Of course, I just hope we can get their quick. we’re cutting it a bit close.”
Lance for the life of him couldn’t figure out where Keith was taking him. They reached the famed park owned by the Altean Embassy, a place Lance knew well. Covered in juniberry flowers, Lance took pictures here for his Eternal Snow CD cover. But why would Keith bring him here?
Keith opened the sun roof and leaned their chairs back.
“Keith...” Lance started.
“Shh. Look up.”
Lance did and stared at the sky. Nothing was happening and Lance opened his mouth to ask something when he saw it. The streak across the sky and the ones that followed. He felt his eyes widen as he watched the shooting stars dart across the sky.
“Like it?” Keith asked, sounding teasing.
Lance shoved at Keith, who moved away and grabbed Lance’s hand to stop him from hitting him more. Lance laced their fingers together and pulled Keith’s hand closer.
“Yeah you asshole, I like it. Honestly though, I’m glad that we got to do this. The closest thing was sitting in the sun room with Akira to look at the stars.”
“He never took you watch one of these?” Keith asked.
Lance shook his head. “Both him and Rachel were too worried about me getting sick. I always wanted to make a wish on a shooting star.”
“What would you wish for?”
Lance shook his head, squeezing Keith’s hand. “Before it would have been to sing or to find Akira. But I don’t need to make a wish any more. I can sing, I’m healthy, I have all my friends and family. I know Akira cared for me. And I have you, the one thing I needed in the end. What else could I need? Well, other than the ability to write a new song. I swear Kolivan keeps poking me cause I wrote a hit single in 3 days. One time thing, I swear.”
Keith laughed, squeezing Lance’s hand in response. “Only thing I’ll wish for is for us to be happy.”
“Wish come true. With you, I already am.”

Hey now, You’re an All-Star
January 11, 2019
@ edmontonoilers: YESSSS! ⭐️ #LetsGoOilers
@ edmontonoilers: Leon with some love for the fans after today's #NHLAllStar news! #LetsGoOilers
When Connor heard the news he was beyond thrilled, his 'liney' Leon was going to All Star too.
@ mcdavid97: All-Star bound with 29! 👊
Surely Connor had gone years previous, but none of them had included another one of his teammates, let alone the one he was dating. Connor liked to keep his life private for the most part, which included Leon too. Media was beginning to become suspicious, but in all honesty neither boy seemed to really care that much anymore. It was going to be a first time for the both of them; Leons first all star, and Connors first all star with his boyfriend. Surely a big reason Leon got voted in was Connors endless support, and maybe for the fact Connor had his whole family (distant relatives included) voting multiple times daily for him, but Leon didn't need to know that.
The beginning of the 2019 season did start out a little rough, so the break would be good for the both of them (besides the fact Connor managed to get Chia fired, but that's besides the point). The Oilers organization had known about the two boys relationship, and everyone was so supportive, especially Nuge who had been the reason they got together in the first place. In the locker room it was even the on going joke, and Ryan was often referred to as 'Ryan Love Whisperer Hopkins'. Connor and Leon enjoyed any privacy they got so the organization was surprised when the two had told them that they wanted to let everyone know they were together, but a little more subtle since both boys were quite reserved.
January 24, 2019
@ edmontonoilers: The dynamic duo had officially arrived in San Jose! #NHLAllStar #LetsGoOilers
If Connor and Leon could agree on one thing it'd be the all star jerseys, they color black was extremely flattering, but they wouldn't be wearing those jerseys until tomorrow. After all today was the skills competition, they'd be sporting the classic orange Oilers jersey. Connor was the first of them to compete, to no one's surprise it was his third year in a row competing for the fastest skater title. Why? Because other than Dylan Larkin (who wasn't voted in) he truly was a speedster. Leon sat on the bench chilling and taking in his new surroundings. HI heart was so full and slightly filled with nerves of watching his boy get ready to skate. From how the event was beginning to unfold his only threat to steal the title from him was Jack Eichel. Seeing Connor on the ice made his little heart flutter.
Connor had taken off just like that and Leon instantly zone in to watching him skate his lap. His skate was over just as fast as it had started, and sure enough Connor took the three-peat. Leon stayed sat on the bench smiling even wider than before. Media ended up in his face and questioned him about Connors pace. Leon would be lying if he said he didn’t wish they were going to ask about their relationship. So he figured clue number two, drop a hint. So Leon turned to face the camera for all to view on instagram, his english flowing perfectly. “I had and idea that he’s pretty fast so, uhm ya know obviously last year I think he won it, so it was uh ya know I had my money on him.” Leon finished off saying while a slight smile arose on his face.
After Connors event both boys were able to relax for a little, as puck control was the next event. Connor shoved his way in the box to sit with the rest of the Pacific division boys, but more importantly next to Leon. “You did so well out there.” Leon said then bumped shoulders with him. Connor schooched closer to Leon (if that was even possible) and his body was pressed right against Leon from shoulders to skates. He rested his one hand on his knee while Leon decided to put his hand directly half on Connors and half on his own retrospective kneecap. Leon looked over at him again and smiled, then turned back to watch the event infront of him. Nobody seemed to ask about it; whether they didn’t care, couldn’t see it, or already knew (Leon doubted the third one though).
As it got closer to Leons turn for premier passing he got more anxious. He didn’t want to dissapoint himself, the fans that voted him in, and most importantly Connor. Leon had to leave his warm encounter with his boy to get ready to go. Connor stayed on the bench watching in awe at his boyfriend, the way Leon made the pucks into the minature nets with such little effort was really no surprise. Since Leon joined the Oilers organiztion he had been giving those types of passes to Connor. Even before McDrai happened they had sucah a remarkable chemistry. (Why was Connor now suddenly realizing that Ryan is super good at reading into love?). When Leons last puck went into the net, the time stopped and Leon looked over and started skating back towards the bench where Connor was. Leon didn’t look at what his time was, but he knew it had to be good when he saw Connor smiling and clapping his mitts together for him. Finally Leon’s competition had ended too, and he managed to stay on top, claiming the win. The closer he got to Connor the happier he was. Connor was sitting looking sky chewing his gum, not to forget the fact he was checking Leon out from head to toe. That all star champ was his. For the remainder of the competition boys the boys were just fooling around with each other. Both had adrenaline running high from their wins. The start of this weekend was a good one, and eventually they hit the locker room to suit back up for media.
Connor had anticipated questions about the Oilers and his captaincy, but his personal favorite was when someone had asked about Leons performance. “That was awesome! That was an event that was tough. Really really tough and Leon I know was a little bit nervous.” Connor began to answer. Since he had heard from Leon still nobody had realized they were an item, he knew he’d have a little fun hyping Leon up. “I ket saying you’re one of the best passers in the game you could easily do it. And he proved that tonight.” Connor said lovingly about his teammate and boyfriend (which the media still couldn’t seem to pick up, which was surprising).
Finally day one was in the books and both began to head to the hotel to rest for the night. Although they’d be staying in the same room together, a king size bed all theirs. After all they were both hockey boys who needed enough space for cuddles. Connor’s room was rendered useless, they’d be using Leon’s room instead. Not that it mattered too much anyways, Connor had the salary to make useless purchases like his hotel room that would remain empty all three days in San Jose. Both boys began to take off their suits and put them on hangers. Even with salaries like they have, both Leon and Connor hated spending so much time finding a suit they liked, only for it to cost more than they ever would have typically spent (it was a suit, why must they cost so much?). No way were they going to ruin them only to go through suit hell once again. Leon was the first to get changed out of his suit, and he head to the luggage to find some clothes for bed. Leon put on some plaid pj pants with pockets, along with an old oilers shirt (which wasn’t his). He had taken a seat while Connor was still getting ready for bed. Connor put on Oilers pj pants that Leon orginally got for him as a gag gift, but no surprise Connor loved them so much. Paired with his Oilers pants was one of Leon’s shirts. Leon looked up from his phone and saw Connor looking adoarble, his hair still looking freshly cut.
In fact Leon was the actual reason his hiar was cut in the first place, and it wasn’t because Leon liked it short, hed just told Connor it’d be funny to see media have a hay day. And anyways Connor loves seeing Leon laugh, so his answer was obvious, he had to do it. He took a seat right on top of Leon crushing him, and laughing as Leon went wide eyed and stuttered out “Oh well hello to you too” while lightly laughing. “What are you looking at?” Connor asked as Leon was looking down on his phone. “Figuring out which picture of us to put on insta.” he replied while turning his phone to Connor to look at the pictures. Leon continued to swipe through the photos until Connor pointed out a good one. “Post that one” Connor suggested. Despite Connor hardly posting on his accounts he knew when a picture was good, and that was definitely it. Leo opened Instagram and selected the picture Connor suggested. “Should I add a filter?” Leon asked seriously. Connor thought the photo was fine as it was, but the temptation was way too high. Leon had seen a yellow tinted filter, “Con! This filter would look sick!” Leon said while showing Connor the result. To Leon’s dismay he was given the ‘are you actually joking me right now?’ look. “I think it looks good, especially you so I’m posting it.” Leon told Connor. Connor put his hands up as to say ‘I’m not stopping you’. “Oh I have the perfect caption too!” He said excitedly as he began to type it out. It was the best usage of 27 letters in his life, all for one small post.
@ drat_29: Great day at the skills comp with @ mcdavid97
“Alright it’s posted” he said to Connor as he locked his phone and placed it on the nightstand. Both boys then opened the bed to go to sleep for the next days fun games. Of course they couldn’t go to bed without Connor claiming his little spoon position. “Ich liebe dich.” Leon mumbled to Connor as he drifted to sleep holding the one he loved the most in his arms.

Fanfic Rec! ( • ω • )
Rules I’m constraining myself to: I’ve either had to read the fic more than three times and/or have thought about it years in the future. (This means I’ll have to leave out some other fics I really enjoyed reading and thought were well written)
A bunch of different fandoms will be under the cut! (as I expose what I ship across the board too lol)
We’ll Meet Again by George deValier (usuk) (complete)
This is the first fic of george’s that I read, and I’ve read it multiple times, and it’s been integral in my shaping of characterizations within my own hetalia fics. I could include all of his works, but this one stands out the most. I also listen to the vera verse songs and get extremely nostalgic, so there’s that
WW2 AU. London pub owner Arthur Kirkland is driven to distraction by loud, brash American fighter pilot Alfred Jones. Unable to stop it, Arthur finds himself falling for Alfred’s charms… just as the pilot is preparing to leave for war.
Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue… by anonymous (pruaus) (unfinished)
This fic is odd in the sense that I found it while suddenly getting on a pruaus kick, during which I followed a bunch of pruaus people on tumblr. Eventually, I would find out years later that I was going to the same college as one of these people and become friends with them. So not only does this fic have a nostalgic tie to it, I find the story brilliantly written with wonderful characterization, though it is in a weird format.
Inspired by the film 500 Days of Summer, I’d really like to see a couple meet and fall in love, but eventually one (or both) ends the relationship because they realise it’s not working/they can’t imagine spending their whole life with this person/what have you. I’d really love to see how the relationship develops, with the happy times and the eventual bad times as it falls apart, and then the hope of finding love elsewhere.
Redeemer by CocoaCoveredGods (L x Light, Mello x Matt, Mello x Light) (complete)
I can’t tell you how happy I am that I found this fic after 6 or so years. I can’t tell you how nostalgic is makes me for my death note phase, remember when I would read this in my mom’s office, minimizing the fic on a laptop I hope she never checked. The writing is phenomenal. The format on this site is wonky, but doable to read. (I’m even reformatting it myself right now). It’s mostly everything I could have wanted in a death note fic; it even inspired my own very complex death note AU back in the day. In some alternate reality, I wrote that instead of AWH. I plan to maybe make a personal paper copy for myself of this fic I love it so much. It is on the level of George’s stuff on how much it means to me.
The story takes place *after* Death Note ends, although the main characters have not died. Here the Yellowbox Warehouse is essentially the pinnacle of L's 6-year long offensive against Kira, who believes L to be dead, when he really isn't. L faked his death, and proceeded with the case behind the cover of his three top heirs, Mello, Matt and Near. Kira himself doesn't succumb to his defeat, but is instead rescued at the last moment by his nemesis lover who decides that a more apropos end to the God of the New World is not death--but redemption, in the form of a new case and a 5th so-called Kira, that L and Light must bring down together... or risk losing everything. Yes, there is actually a plot LOL Buuuut, this puppy has yaoi and pairing's aplenty. LxLight and MelloxMatt are technically the mains, but when you cut straight down to it, this is a story about Light and Mello and how they go from hate to need, from enemies to lovers, and maybe even something more...
and indeed there will be time --orginally by lawlietismyfavorite, but they have since deleted their account :’( (the fic is still on AO3, though!) (L x Light) (unfinished)
I love death note, okay? After the beautiful live action series came out (the recent japanese one not that fucking netflix shit), I felt the need to read some fanfic of the series again, and I found this. HOLY SHIT. It’s a soulmate AU that goes through the plot line of the manga/show and fuck. Light is Ace?? The writing is so good??
L is the greatest detective of not only this century, but of six centuries. And then there’s Light.
Between the Lines by Klitch (Fushimi Saruhiko/Yata Misaki) (complete)
I’ve read this fic about 5 times and have accepted it as canon for this stupid show
The first time Yata saw him the kid was sitting in the corner of the cafeteria all alone with his bought lunch spread out before him, painstakingly picking out the vegetables and stacking them according to color and size.

I really like K. It’s a weird show, and it has copious faults. Maybe I just really like that the characters have so much potential, and this fic (as well as the one above) truly expands on that potential. This fic is an excellent exploration of these two character’s relationships, there’s just the right amount of angst. I’ve read it multiple times.
A whole year, gone from his head just like that - and how many memories could you fit in that time, anyway? It wasn’t a question Yata thought he’d ever have to ask, but with so many things changed between Saruhiko and himself, he wasn’t about to leave it alone.
It just sucked that the new world they’d built was still so easy to break.

haikyuu!! is odd for me because I don’t care about it anymore, but I really like this fic, and I’ve read it about 5 times. The characterization is on point, and the story is extremely well written.
Hajime is apparently something of a masochist, and as he stares down at the tie-dyed AREA51 T-shirt in his hands, he thinks“I’m totally in love with this asshole, aren’t I?”

Kyouya had been able to see the red threads between people’s fingers since the day he was born. A song of fate, and the breaking of. Tamaki was a man who could never be predictable. Vague spoilers up to Chapter 63.
"Relationship Stuff" by arokitty, Ponderess (shinara) (complete)
This fic helped me realize I was asexual. It’s beautifully written.
"Relationship stuff" — that's what Yasutomo kept calling it on the occasions we discussed how things were going between us. He never failed to say it dismissively, as if it was an annoying plague he was forced to put up with. But even when I told him that he could opt out of it at any time, he did not pull back.

A Gradual Fall by grassandcitrus (originshipping) (complete)
This maybe isn’t the best written fic, but it has a lot of heart, and for a ship that there is little content for, this fic served me well. It’s hard to write a realistic pokemon AU, but this feels grounded. For whatever reason, this ship still means a lot to me, so when I get in the mood for it, I’ll re-read this fic.
Meeting Wallace turned out to be a life changing event for Steven. He realizes that pretty early on. Other things, however, come with time.

from the author: “so i went ahead and wrote ygotas fic because, hell, if LK can record videos in which he vocally flirts with himself while playing video games, and then write gay porn about it, I sure as hell can write gay porn about it too.” yeah.

I knew nothing about this video game but for whatever reason decided to look up fanfic for it after seeing some fanart, and then because this one was so well written, I, again knowing absolutely knowing about this video game or the series it’s a part of, binged the entire 164k fic in like two days. I’ve also re-read it and convinced my brother to buy the video game as a result. He refers to them as the “leather boy band” and sends me updates about his play through lmao
Begins in high school. From Prompto's desire to befriend the sullen, bullied prince blooms a relationship even the Astrals themselves could not have foreseen. Basically fills in the gaps from Brotherhood to the fall of Insomnia. Some liberties taken.

September 1, 2021 Wednesday
Another morning. Instead of a donut and pumpkin, I got an everything bagel, a banana and an iced vanilla latte. Yesterday I was complaining about how I expect everything to fall into place but because I did apply and wasn’t thinking about it, I was pleasently surprised that Boys and Girls Club requested an interview. I haven’t gone there since I was a freshman in high school. It’s just funny because I wanted a job that would do with my career and it kinda just fell into place. Now, I’m nervous that they’ll do a background check and stuff it has been six years since I’ve been incarerated and I haven’t done anything to rouse up the law. I was speaking to Stephanie yesterday about grad school and how I wanted to stay in Lincoln but I wasn’t so sure about living at home for another two years because I wanted my ‘life to start’. She said I could get a region 5 which is basically the same thing as the rent subsidy I was getting with the nuns. I basically fucked up living with the nuns and they evicted me but with this, I’ll be in school and hopefully working at the Boys and Girls club. As I type this I can feel my nails feeling weird on the keys. I got them dipped and they look pretty but feel so heavy. The only downside to all of this is telling Mama and Baba but they aren’t very supportive. I’m waiting until the start of the new year when I tell them my grad school plans after graduation. Another thing I was thinking about as far as goals is just that the opprotunities given to me are immense. I think this what they call blessings. It feels like hard work getting them though.
As I listen to my music this morning I turned into a sap by listening to White Stripes. I pretty much stopped listening to Jack White because it brings me pain. There was a tucked bench while I was walking on campus and I felt a pang. It’s something when you miss someone but realize that they probably don’t think about you in the same ways you think about them. All I know is that Loki tries but gets fustrated at their differences. It wasn’t really about love and obession as he said but the fact that we were that close and really understood each other. Even Fassy is getting tired of all the things that I give to him in regards to ____. I really try to give the others ways that they can be orginal but it argues the fact that I felt like I had a soul connection with someone. Like I said. He thought it was obession and I had a swift block on facebook. There’s just some things I can’t explain that happened and those are my pockets that comfort me now. I was actually thinking about Jaren as well. And the target sight. But Ryan always tells me he attempted to rape me and if he didn’t he meant harm. There was a time when I’d disassociate just thinking about him because of the fear I felt from the potential of being raped. I just couldn’t comphrend it six years ago. I guess the only reason for clarity these days is because I know my body.
I tried having sex with Ryan last night but I couldn’t get myself into the zone. It’s weird because these days whenever I cum, I get feelings of shame like what I’m doing is so wrong even though I know it’s natural. I tried a new thing where I tried telling him about my day instead of just jumping into it like I was used to. It’s like a nonverbal agreement that we have sex but I can never enjoy yet. I don’t feel a soul connection with any of them including Loki. I don’t know if it’s from the EMDR I’ve been doing or if it’s just because I delatch myself so much from the act and disassociate while I’m having sex. I can’t really say it’s enjoyable. I have read that when your goal is just to have an orgasm then you aren’t really having sex. It feels robotic these days. But I did attempt last night even though I said I just wanted Deadpool instead of him. I’m trying to make things as normal as possible for them and for myself. I laugh and think to myself how it feels like split personality disorder but it really isn’t. A while ago Angelina messaged me and told me that normal is what I make it. And this is normal for me. It doesn’t harm anyone and I know it’s not harming me. If anything it makes me feel more lonely than others. But back on Jaren. I don’t hate him but I know my mom thinks that he’s some sort of soilder in terms of religion and spirtiuality. She’s on to something but all that was a past life. Just like her calling me a whore for hanging out with Mary Magdelene as she said. But I switched that for Afton when I was 11 is what I told her. And she still called me a whore for the whole summer.
I did my routine this morning and last night pretty automatically. It’s shower day today and I don’t want to elongate it so I think I’m going to take a shower after classes since my homework load isn’t alot tonight. But I’m also going to put away laundry. It just makes sense for me to do it during the week instead of leaving it all for Saturday. The state of the bathroom makes me sad and I’m trying to be better about keeping on top of my chores. I might light some incense today as well. Just things, things, things.
Namaste,
Nyameer

Fender Bassman Serial Number
Fender Amp, Amplifier Serial Numbers By Stewart. There used to be a link on the Fender website for amp dating from the serial numbers. However Superior Music has done a really good summary and here is a link to their website. A chart showing the output transformer numbers and impedances for all the various models of vintage Fender Musical Instrument guitar amplifiers. Bassman 5F6/5F6A. The serial number associated with it of BM00816 puts it in the range of a 5E6 or 5E6-A from 1956. Note though that this is just specifies when the amp was paid for. H may have in fact had it sometime prior, as is evidenced by photos from August of that year though one is pictured onstage as early as April 20, 1956 in Fort Worth.
So you need to figure out the year of production for your Fender guitar or bass. You're not alone. Fenders rank as the most frequently bought and sold instruments on Reverb, and finding a precise date of manufacture can be key to determining the value and specifics of an instrument.
The most important thing to keep in mind when dating a Fender is the highly modular nature of the designs. Like Henry Ford, part of Leo Fender's genius was in optimizing the company's production efficiency. His guitars were built en masse by an entire factory, not a single luthier toiling over one instrument at a time. Features like bolt-on necks and pickups wired into the pickguard all helped the Fender factory churn out guitar after guitar, day after day. This also means that various parts used on a particular guitar may have come from different points in time, so no single number can absolutely define when the instrument was built.
Just as with Fender guitars, you'll find serial numbers that should fall in a certain year, but don't. Example: Vibrolux Reverb with serial number A756254 should be a ’77, but the latest date-coded parts date it to 1978. Some serial numbers have a letter prefix plus 4-digits instead of the usual 5- or 6-digits. Since 1946, Fender's iconic Stratocasters, Telecasters and Precision & Jazz bass guitars have transformed nearly every music genre. Onedrive sync mac photo library.
Serial Number Check
Instead, the best approach to dating a Fender is to combine indicators from the design of the instrument, the dates found on the neck and body, along with the serial number. Once you have the information you need, if you're interested in selling your Fender, you can use Reverb to get it in front of the largest audience of musicians in the world by clicking on this link.

Design Changes and Features
Perhaps the best place to start when dating your Fender is to get an approximate idea of the era based on the instrument's design and components. This can be a tall order for someone less versed in guitar history, but we do have some resources here on Reverb to help you out.
For starters, there's the Reverb Price Guide which has thousands of entries with pictures and details on various guitars and other gear. Some browsing around the Fender section of the Price Guide can definitely help you find which model you have.='>
We also have some other blog posts related to Fender that can hopefully be of some help. There's A Brief History of the Stratocaster Part I and Part II that follows the evolution of the most popular Fender guitar of all. Similarly, take a look at Behold the Jazzmaster for general timeline of the history of everyone's favorite offset guitar. For Fender during the turning point era of the mid-'60s, check out Fender and the CBS Takeover.
Learn everything you need to know to choose the right Stratocaster for you.
Body and Neck Dates
Through much of Fender's production history, Fender workers would print or write a production date on both bodies and necks where the two pieces meet. These dates will tell when the original part was manufactured, but are not exact indicators of when the guitar was actually put together and finished.
Here is what the neck date and body date look like from a 1952 Telecaster:
If you're not comfortable removing the neck of a guitar to peek at the date marker, I encourage you to take it to a local tech or luthier.
I will also mention briefly pot-codes as a resource (numbers on the internal potentiometers of the guitar). These can definitely be useful in cases where no other numbers exist, but just tell when the pot itself was made. Who knows how long it was waiting in the Fender factory before finding its way into a Tele?
Serial Numbers
Like the body and neck dates, using serial numbers to date a Fender is not a sure bet. At many points in Fender's history, serial number usage overlapped again owing to the modular manner of production. Below we'll go into detail about the various serial number schemes employed by Fender as far back as 1950. There are certainly plenty of exceptions, so again, using serial numbers in conjunction with other dating methods is always the best bet.
Click on the links here to jump directly to the serial number style that matches your instrument:
The Early Years: 1950 - 1954
In the early years, Fender serial numbers schemes were specific to the model. Esquires, Broadcasters and Telecasters shared a serial number sequence, while the landmark Precision Bass had its own system. In this early period, the serial number can be found on the bridge of the instrument (see image).
Here are the rough serial number ranges for the early Esquires and Telecasters:
0001 to 09991950 - 1952000 to 53001952 - 1954
And here are the ranges for the original Precision Basses:
161 to 357 1951299 to 619 19520001 to 016019520161 to 0470 1951 - 19520475 to 0840 1952 - 19530848 to 1897 1953 - 1954
Also, for the first half or so of 1954, the inaugural run of Stratocasters had a distinct number sequence all under number 6000.
Classic Serial Numbers - 1954 - 1963
By mid-1954, Fender began using a universal serial number sequence for all its instruments. At this time, the location of the serial number also shifted from the bridge to the neckplate (the metal plate located on back of where the neck meets the body).
Here's how the serial numbers break down from 1954 to the beginning of 1963, though there are some areas of inconsistency in this era:
0001 to 7000 19547000 to 9000 19559000 to 17000195617000 to 25000195725000 to 34000195834000 to 44000195944000 to 59000196059000 to 71000 196171000 to 93000 196293000 to 99999 1963
Learn everything you need to know to choose the right Telecaster for you.
L Series - The Transition Period of 1963 to 1965
At the very end of 1962 and into 1963, Fender changed to a system where serial numbers began with an 'L.' According to some accounts, the L was supposed to just be a 1 to mark the cross over into the 100,000 range from the previous scheme, but an L was used by mistake.
Here the range of the L-series serial used each year. Some of the earliest ones actually popped up in late 1962 as well:
0L00001 to L200001963L20000 to L590001964L59000 to L999991965
F Series - CBS Era 1965 - 1976
After the CBS purchase of Fender in 1965, the factory switched to a new serial sequence with numbers that continued the same general format used prior to the takeover. These are generally referred to as F series due the large Fender branded F on the neckplates of the era. This period also saw a switch from the orginal four-bolt neckplate of the '60s to a three-bolt neckplate in just one example of cost-saving costs introduced under CBS.
100000 to 110000 late 1965110000 to 200000 1966200000 to 210000 1967210000 to 250000 1968250000 to 280000 1969280000 to 300000 1970300000 to 3400001971340000 to 370000 1972370000 to 5200001973500000 to 580000 1974580000 to 690000 1975 690000 to 750000 1976
Post 1976
Starting in 1976, Fender transitioned to a new serial number scheme and moved the placement of most serial numbers to the headstock of the instrument. Depending on the era and model, the number can be found on either the front or back of the headstock.
After a short period of overlap with the old system, the post-76 numbers will start with a letter that indicates the decade, followed by a number that indicates the year of that decade. The decade letter codes break down like this: S = 1970s, E = 1980s, N = 1990s, Z = 2000s. In the 2000s, you'll also see serials starting with a DZ which indicates the Deluxe series, but the format is otherwise the same.
For example, a serial number with N4 would be from 1994. One starting with Z5 would be from 2005.
This scheme is not 100% consistent due to a number of production factors, such as Fender producing more serialized decals than needed in a given year. This is particularly pronounced in the transitional period of the mid-'80s, though the system has been pretty much on point since about 1990.
After 2009, the letter changed to a format starting with US then two digits that tell the year of the current decade.
Here's the breakdown of Post-1976 American-made Fender serials:
76 + 5 digits1976S6 + 5 digits1976S7 + 5 digits1977 - 1978S8 + 5 digits1978S9 + 5 digits1978 - 1979E0 + 5 digits1979 - 1981E1 + 5 digits1980 - 1982E2 + 5 digits1982 - 1983E3 + 5 digits1982 - 1985E4 + 5 digits1984 - 1988E8 + 5 digits1988 - 1989E9 + 5 digits1989 - 1990N9 + 5 digits1990N0 + 5 digits1990 - 1991N1 + 5 or 6 digits1991 - 1992N2 + 5 or 6 digits1992 - 1993N3 + 5 or 6 digits1993 - 1994N4 + 5 or 6 digits1994 - 1995N5 + 5 or 6 digits1995 - 1996

Signature Series
American-made signature series instruments follow a very similar scheme to the above, but use a prefix S before the decade letter. For example, a Signature Series guitar from 1998 would have a serial starting with SN8 followed by five digits.
American Vintage Reissue models
The major exception to all of this is the American Vintage Reissue (AVRI) series. These have serial numbers starting with V and do not strictly correlate to years. The neck dates on these guitars, however, are usually reliable.
Made in Japan Fender Serials
Fender Japan serial numbers can usually be found on the back of the neck near the neck joint. Though examples also exist with the number on the headstock or the neck-plate in the case of certain early reissue models. Up until 1997, the serial was paired with the words 'Made in Japan.'
In 1982, Fender expanded operations with a series of instruments produced in Japan by the Fuji Gen Gakki company. Like the US serial numbers, MIJ (made in Japan) serials start with a letter or pair of letters that indicate the rough year of production. This system, however, is notoriously inconsistent and incomplete, which makes dating by serial number even less reliable for MIJ Fenders.
Here's a breakdown of serials for the 'Made in Japan' era:
JV + 5 digits1982 - 1984SQ + 5 digits1983 - 1984E + 6 digits1984 - 1987A + 6 digits1985 - 1986B + 6 digits1985 - 1986C + 6 digits1985 - 1986F + 6 digits1986 - 1987G + 6 digits1987 - 1988H + 6 digits1988 - 1989I + 6 digits1989 - 1990J + 6 digits1989 - 1990K + 6 digits1990 - 1991J + 6 digits1990 - 1991

Crafted in Japan Serial Numbers
Fender Bassman Serial Number
In 1997, Fender changed the 'Made in Japan' decal to say 'Crafted in Japan.' There is some overlap with the earlier 'MIJ' serials, so it's important to note if your instrument carries the 'Made in Japan' or 'Crafted in Japan' decal.
Here are the serial numbers for the 'Crafted in Japan' or 'CIJ' era:
A + 6 digits1997 - 1998O + 6 digits1997 - 2000P + 6 digits1999 - 2002Q + 6 digits2002 - 2004R + 6 digits2004 - 2005S + 6 digits2006 - 2008T + 6 digits2007 - 2008
After 2007, Fender Japan switched back to marking Fenders as 'Made in Japan' though for a few years instruments with both decals were made. Serial numbers since this transition have continued the same sequence as the 'CIJ' era.

Made in Mexico Fender Serials
Fender opened a factory in Ensenada, Mexico in the late '80s and instruments started coming off the line in 1990. Mexican-made (MIM) Fenders carry a serial number on the headstock starting with an M. Some exceptions include a handful of special editions and signature models as well as the split US/Mexican-made California series which all have a 'AMXN' at the beginning of their serials.
The MIM serial number scheme is actually very straight-forward. For Mexican Fenders made in the 1990s, the serial will start with an MN followed by a number that indicates the year of the decade. Instruments made in the 2000s follow the same form but start with MZ. For the 2010s, the prefix is MX1. For example, a serial number starting with MN2 would be 1992.
Here's the serial number breakdown for a majority of MIM Fenders:
MN0 + 5 or 6 digits 1990MN1 + 5 or 6 digits 1991MN2 + 5 or 6 digits 1992MN3 + 5 or 6 digits 1993MN4 + 5 or 6 digits 1994MN5 + 5 or 6 digits 1995 MN6 + 5 or 6 digits 1996 MN7 + 5 or 6 digits 1997 MN8 + 5 or 6 digits 1998 MN9 + 5 or 6 digits 1999 MZ0 + 5 or 6 digits 2000MZ1 + 5 or 6 digits 2001MZ2 + 5 or 6 digits 2002
MZ3 + 5 or 6 digits 2003MZ4 + 5 or 6 digits 2004MZ5 + 5 or 6 digits 2005 MZ6 + 5 or 6 digits 2006 MZ7 + 5 or 6 digits 2007 MZ8 + 5 or 6 digits 2008 MZ9 + 5 or 6 digits 2009 MX10 + 6 digits 2010MX11 + 6 digits 2011MX12 + 6 digits 2012MX13 + 6 digits 2013MX14 + 6 digits 2014
Fender Bassman 59 Serial Number
Exceptions
There are a number of exceptions to all these serial number schemes. As mentioned above, many reissue models use serial numbers that don't really correlate to their age. Additionally, there have been plenty of artist models, limited editions and other rare models that use a unique serial number. Examples include the 35th anniversary series, many of the uniquely finished Strats from the early '80s, as well as various export-specific models which carry a serial number starting with FN.
Again, the serial number alone in any of these cases is not definitive and the best approach is to combine that with other methods like the neck and body dates, as well as just the features of the specific instrument. If you have any questions as to what Fender you're dealing with, I encourage you to seek out a local guitar shop or luthier to help figure it out.

What a lot of people do not know is that the 1964 6G6-B Bassman with Utah Speakers was actually the most recorded amplifier used by The Beatles. The amp was first used by Paul McCartney as his main bass amp from 1965 to mid 1967 (he did use a Vox during this time but not as much as the Bassman). In 1966 and 1967 John Lennon and George Harrison shared it (sometimes playing their guitars through the amp at the same time) and from early 1967 George Harrison took it over as his main amp. This amp was then used on a few of the early John Lennon solo albums when George was there and then George used it as his main solo amp. It even became George’s main amp when they did Antholody and Real Love/Free As A Bird (you will see it in the recording sessions). If you look at any Beatles documentary from 1967 you will always see it there (even in the Apple offices at times), it is all through the Lennon Imagine films and documentaries and also the Harrison documentaries and it was even on stage during the Concert for George, as a tribute when George died. So, the 1964 Bassman is actually the “real” amp used by The Beatles in the latter years and most creative years, rather than the iconic Vox which dominated their early years. So, although the Utah speakers were not the best speakers their sound dominated Beatle recordings from Rubber Soul (1965) to Abbey Road (1970) so that is not too bad 🙂 1961 Pro Reverb and 1963 Bandmaster. Both have 6G6-B circuit.

More on the bassman: The Great Bass Amps Of The 60s
By David Hicks | March, 2005
Although the bass guitar was introduced in 1951, bass amplifiers lagged far behind. For a decade, bassists had to make do with guitar (or accordion) amps ill-suited to reproducing low-frequency sounds. Even the early Fender bass amps, including the ’59 Bassman 4×10, had open-back enclosures that produced little more than a muddy approximation of the instrument’s true sound. Finally, in the early 1960s, engineers began to turn their attention to the problem of amplifying this “new” instrument. Let’s take a look at some of the more memorable designs they came up with during that turbulent decade.
Fender Bassman
As the mid-’60s neared, a phenomenon called the “British Invasion” occurred. Suddenly, everybody was learning to play guitar, bass, or drums, and combos were forming in every town across the nation. While many of the English groups were using strange gear made by Vox, most music stores in the U.S. featured amps manufactured in California by Fender. At this time, Leo and company had some 15 years of amp-building experience under their belts, and they were building what proved to be perhaps the most durable—and desirable—amplifiers ever made. In 1964, if you were serious about your music, your amp of choice was a “blackface” Fender Bassman (so called because of the black paint on its front panel).
Fender Serial Numbers Dating
This amp featured the relatively new (at the time) piggyback design, with separate amp head and speaker bottom, which provided flexibility as well as an illusion of size. (While some of the Fender piggyback amps had tilt-back legs and fasteners to attach the head, no self-respecting rock player of the era set his speaker bottom on its side!) The Bassman’s all-tube amplifier design included dual channels, one marked BASS and the other NORMAL—implying, one assumes, that playing bass was somehow abnormal. Each channel had volume, treble, and bass controls, as well as individual voicing and preamp designs for optimum sound with bass or guitar/microphone. And, as the popularity of electric music continued to expand, the 50-watt power section and pair of heavy-duty 12″ speakers set the standard for bass. The tone was pretty good—all of a sudden, you could hear the bass guitar, without a lot of buzz or distortion. At the time, it was the ultimate in bass gear.

Blasting on Social Media
An apology is just a form of damage control. We are human we all make mistakes; but that doesn't mean the mistakes you've made, doesn't show what kind of person you TRULY are. Being human doesn't give you the right to be a piece of shit. Exploding all over social media and then back tracking with a fake apology doesn't make things right.
To the people who walked away from this pyramid scheme of a community I have nothing but respect for you. I'm sure it was a hard decision to make. You have those members who ONLY support you because you are apart of that group, who will no longer support you. You may receive backlash for stating your opinion or even guilt tripped for leaving because of it, but I truly do believe you will find a better way to grow your stream without being attached to something so toxic.
Communities are about having a safe place to vent, to make friends and network with other people. It's not about being basic bitches, like you're in high school backstabbing and tweeting all about the confidential shit that a person told you in private. I'm not sure how anyone can trust one after that but there's a lot of naive people out in the streaming community.
I get we have things said about us so we get angry. Trust me, there's a reason I am RagingBlonde. We don't stop to think on the repercussions. Hell it's the internet I don't think people believe their are repercussions for their shitty behaviour. I honestly believe this person truly thought what she said was okay, that no matter what her “community” would stand by her. Sure some did but there was a lot of pissed off people. She had to back track, put out an apology because she needed to do some serious damage control. The same shit Logan Paul had to do after posting a video of someone who committed suicide than laughed about it. He has to do damage control and issue an “apology”. Lets not forget that partnered streamer last year who literally slammed and bashed all female gamers. Calling us a bunch of sluts. Stating we shouldn't be gaming and we're ruining the gaming industry. He as well had to issue an apology in order to no longer be suspended from twitch.
A little story & the first time I am ever speaking about this.
I helped create TrueUltimateGamers. Lets be real for a moment; If myself and the other co-creator who walked away had of stayed. TUG would have became one of best damn communities on twitch and still kicking ass today, and the 3rd ORGINAL co-creator wouldn't have put a certain person on blast having TUG be no more.
The problem with that is greed. Unfortunately for what TUG was becoming and what I knew the plan was after the fact I walked. Not only did I walk, I boycotted it. I would not retweet a single fucking tweet with the hashtag #Tugfam because TUG stood against everything I believed in when it came to what a “community” is. TUG was all about what the streamers can do for THEM. How to get them to grow so big they could eventually start making money off it. It's wasn't about what TUG could do to help support the streamers unless they were kissing the asses of the creators and mods. Like how most communities are ran.
I left in a private manner only to have the co-creators make up a fake story about how it was too stressful on me. I had people ask me and I didn't bother to say anything and I not once bashed them or tried to make people stay clear of that “community”. You're all grown ass adults. Do your research. I just took my own stance and boycotted and moved on to focus on my own streams, but boy is it ever the start as to why I am Anti Communities and the fake shit they all stand for.
The point I'm trying to make here is true colours eventually come out. People feel because it's social media it's okay to let loose and bash, and create drama.
This all started because a senior mod of this team made a long truthful PUBLIC post as to why he left. I read it, I felt there wasn't anything wrong with what that person has said. The leader of said community even stated she didn't read it, because she has no time for drama. Not only did she have no time for drama she made sure she created a whole bunch of it. Feel free to check a twitter page where you can post your confession's anonymously about this community.
I get it, she's human but what do you think happens to CEO/President's who royally fuck up in their line of business? Are they allowed to be “just human?” No. They are a leader, they are placed on a higher pedestal whether they fucking like it or not. So maybe this person should work on being a better person, maybe surround herself with less toxic people. I don't like two faced, fake ass people. It is my BIGGEST pet peeve in real life and it's unfortunate that it's everywhere including in streaming communities. This is why I don't hide behind an alias and I speak my mind. Sometimes I am tactful when I do it, other times I'm a horrendous bitch. I know this. But I owe it to myself to be a better person, for myself, for my trainwreckers and for people who read and look up to me. This is why I have not once mentioned the name of this person nor this community.
All I can say is, if you believe in something and someone truly has done wrong towards that thing you believe in. Don't be an idiot, walk away. You don't even have to make an announcement for people to know if you're scared of repercussions, just do it. There are plenty of other communities out there that are less toxic and better. I don't even believe you need to be in a community to grow your stream. You can do it on your own by networking properly. If you are looking for a community feel free to send me an email and I'll send a list of actual communities that aren't toxic.
Twitch as a whole has amazing people, but there is also a lot of shitty people as well. Open your eyes, pay attention to details and have better standards for yourself. Communities are not a quick grab to fame. You still have to grind and work hard for everything you want. Just don't get lost in branding yourself to them and lose yourself.
I would also like to point out I am not an ex member of the community which I spoke about. Never have I joined them, befriended them or anything. I wish everyone the best in this situation no matter what. Do better people, because if you're a leader of one of the biggest communities on twitch and you have a breakdown like this and let your emotions get to you. It's unacceptable.
If anyone ever feels like they need to talk, vent or anything. My DM's are open and my email is available. Don't worry, I'm not about throwing out privacy issues and making your stuff public. ;).

Superman Starter Pack
First and most importantly, before we go into petty commercial concerns, let’s remember the meaning of the day I orginally posted this. Because friends, it was no ordinary day: it was Miracle Monday, the anniversary of Superman triumphing over no less than the biblical prince of darkness himself (or at least a respectable substitute), and it was so awesome that even though it was expunged from humanity’s collective consciousness, they still instinctively recognized the third Monday of May as a day of good cheer to be celebrated in Superman’s honor from now until the end of time.
I know I write plenty about Superman on here, but with as much as a pain as comics can be to get into, I’m sure at least some of those I’m lucky enough to have follow me haven’t been able to find an easy in for the character. Or maybe a follower-of-a-follower or friend-of-a-friend is looking for a reasonable place to start. So in the spirit of the season, I’ll toss on the (admittedly already pretty massive) pile of recommended starting points on Superman: ten stories in a recommended - but by no means strict - order that should, as a whole, give you a pretty decent idea of what Superman’s deal is and why you should care, all of which you should be able to find pretty easily on Comixology or a local bookstore/comic book shop.
1. Superman: Birthright
What it’s about: It’s his origin. He gets rocketed to Earth from the doomed planet Krypton, he gets raised by farmers, he puts on tights to fight crime, he meets Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, he deals with Kryptonite, all the standard-issue Superman business.
Why you should read it: It does all that stuff better than anyone else. He’s had a few different takes on his origins over the years due to a series of reboots, another of those tellings is even further down the list, but the first major modern one pretty much hit the nail on the head first try. It toes the tricky line of humanizing him without making you forget that hey, he’s Superman, it’s high-action fun without skimping on the character, and if there’s any one story that does the best job of conveying why you should look at an invincible man-god all but beyond sin or death with no major inciting incident in his background as a likable, relatable character, this is it. Add in some of the best Lane and Luthor material out there, and it’s a no-brainer.
Further recommendations if you liked it: About a decade before writing Birthright, its author Mark Waid worked with Alex Ross on what ended up one of DC’s biggest comics ever, Kingdom Come, the story of a brutal near-future of out-of-control superheroes that ultimately narrowed down to being about Superman above all else, and one of his most popular and influential stories of all time at that. Years after Birthright he created Irredeemable, the story of a Superman pastiche named Plutonian gone murderously rogue and how he reached his breaking point, illustrating a lot of what makes Superman special by way of contrast.
(Since Superman’s had so many notable homage/analogue/pastiche/rip-off/whatever-you-want-to-call-it characters compared to other superheroes, often in very good stories, there’ll be a number of those stories on this list.)
2. Superman: Up, Up and Away
What: Ever seen Superman Returns? That, but good. Clark Kent’s been living and loving a normal life as a reporter and husband after a cosmic dust-up in one of DC’s event comics took Superman off the board for a year, but mounting threats demand his return to save Metropolis again, if he still can.
Why: If you’d rather skip the origin, this is as a good a place as you’ll find to jump onboard. Clark and Lois both get some solid characterization, a number of classic villains have solid screentime, there’s some interesting Kryptonian mythology sticking its head in without being too intrusive, a great overarching threat to Metropolis, and it captures how Superman’s powers work in a visceral sense better than almost anything else. If you just want a classic, pick-it-up-and-go Fun Superman Story, this is where to go.
Recommendations: If you liked this, you’ll probably be inclined to enjoy the rest of co-writer Geoff Johns’ run on Action Comics, including most popularly Legion of Superheroes and Brainiac, both with artist Gary Frank. Another series tapping into that classic Superman feeling pretty well - regardless of whether you enjoyed the original show or not - is Smallville: Season 11, showing the adventures of that series’ young Clark Kent once he finally becomes Superman. Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason’s run on the main Superman title under the banner of DC Rebirth tried to maintain that feeling, properly introducing Jon Kent, Lois and Clark’s 10-year-old-son, as Superboy in what seems to be a permanent addition to the cast and mythology; your mileage on its success may vary, but Volume 2, Trials of the Super Sons, represents the best of it. And the current Superman work by Brian Bendis - beginning with his The Man Of Steel miniseries and spinning off into both Superman and Action Comics - while controversial, presents a very similar take on Superman to the one seen in Up, Up and Away and a similar sensibility, to very positive results.
3. Superman: Secret Identity
What: He’s Clark Kent, an aspiring writer from a farm town in Kansas. Problem is he’s only named after the other guy, an ordinary teenager who’s put up with crap his whole life for being named after a comic book character in an ordinary world. But when he suddenly finds himself far closer to his namesake than he ever would have imagined, it becomes the journey of his life to find how to really be a Superman.
Why: The best ‘realistic’ Superman story by a long shot, this doesn’t sideline its heart in favor of pseudo-science justifications for what he can do, or the sociopolitical impact of his existence. He has the powers, he wears the costume to save people (though he never directly reveals himself to the world), and in-between he lives his life and learns what it means to be a good man. It’s quiet and sweet and deeply human, and probably one of the two or three best Superman comics period.
Recommendations: If you like the low-key, pastoral aesthetic, you might enjoy Superman for All Seasons, or Supergirl: Being Super, and the one-shot Man and Superman by Marv Wolfman and Claudio Castellini has something of a similar down-to-Earth feel. I’d also recommend Jeff Loveness and Tom Grummet’s Glasses in Mysteries Of Love In Space. If you’d like more of writer Kurt Busiek’s work, his much-beloved series Astro City - focusing on a different perspective in the superhero-stuffed metropolis in every story - opens with A Dream of Flying, set from the point of view of the Superman-like Samaritan, telling of his quiet sorrow of never being to fly simply for its own sake in a world of dangers demanding his attention.
4. Of Thee I Sing
What: Gotham hitman Tommy Monaghan heads to the roof of Noonan’s bar for a smoke. Superman happens to be there at the time. They talk.
Why: A lot of people call this the best Superman story of the 90s, and they’re not wrong. Writer Garth Ennis doesn’t make any bones about hating the superhero genre in general (as evidenced by their treatment in the rest of Hitman), but he has a sincere soft spot for Superman as an ideal of what we - and specifically Americans - are supposed to be, and he pours it all out here in a story of what it means for Superman to fail, and why he remains Superman regardless. It sells the idea that an unrepentant killer - even one only targeting ‘bad guys’ like Tommy - would unabashedly consider Superman his hero, and that’s no small feat.
Recommendations: If you read Hitman #34 and love it but don’t intend to check out the rest of the series (why? It’s amazing), go ahead and read JLA/Hitman, a coda to the book showing the one time Tommy got caught up in the Justice League’s orbit, and what happens when Superman learns the truth about his profession, culminating in a scene that sums up What Superman Is All About better than maybe any other story. Tom King and Andy Kubert’s Superman: Up In The Sky, while not without blemish (there’s a rightly-controversial chapter involving Lois that precludes universal recommendation), is a similarly humane look at Superman and the clash of his iconic power and mortal limitations. If you appreciated the idea of a classically decent Superman in an indecent world, you might enjoy Al Ewing’s novel Gods of Manhattan (the middle of a loose pulp adventure trilogy with El Sombra and Pax Omega, which I’ve discussed in the past), starring Doc Savage and Superman analogue Doc Thunder warring with a fascistic new vigilante in a far different New York City.
5. Superman: Camelot Falls
What: On top of a number of other threats hitting Superman from all sides, he receives a prophecy from the wizard Arion, warning of a devastating future when mankind is faced with its ultimate threat; a threat it will be too weak to overcome due to Superman’s protection over the years, but will still only just barely survive without him. Will he abandon humanity to a new age of darkness, or try and fight fate to save them knowing it could lead to their ultimate extinction?
Why: From the writer of Secret Identity and co-writer of Up, Up and Away!, this is probably the best crack at the often-attempted “Would having Superman be around actually be a good thing for humanity in the long term?” story. Beyond having the courtesy of wrapping that idea up in a really solid adventure rather than having everyone solemnly ruminate for the better part of a year, it comes at it from an angle that doesn’t feel like cheating either logically or in terms of the characters, and it’s an extremely underrated gem.
Recommendations: For the same idea tackled in a very different way, there’s the much better-known Superman: Red Son, showing the hero he would have become growing up in the Soviet Union rather than the United States; going after similar ideas is the heartfelt Superman: Peace on Earth. The rest of Kurt Busiek’s time on the main Superman title was great too, even if this stood easily as the centerpiece; his other trades were Back In Action, Redemption, The Third Kryptonian, and Shadows Linger. Speaking of underrated gems, Gail Simone’s run on Action Comics from around the same time with John Byrne was also great, collected in Strange Attractors. And since the story opens with an excellent one-shot centered around his marriage to Lois, I have to recommend From Krypton With Love if you can track it down in Superman 80-Page Giant #2, and Thom Zahler’s fun Lois-and-Clark style webcomic Love and Capes.
6. Superman Adventures
What: A spinoff of Superman: The Animated Series, this quietly chugged along throughout the latter half of the 90s as the best of the Superman books at the time.
Why: Much as stories defining his character and world are important, the bread and butter of Superman is just regular old fun comics, and there’s no better place to go than here for fans of any and all ages. Almost all of its 66 issues were at least pretty fun, but by far most notable were two runs in particular - Scott McCloud, the guy who would go on to literally write the book on the entire medium in Understanding Comics, handled the first year, and Mark Millar prior to his breakout success wrote a number of incredibly charming and sincere Superman stories here, including arguably the best Luthor story in How Much Can One Man Hate?, and a full comic on every page in 22 Stories In A Single Bound.
Recommendations: Superman has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to runs of just plain fun comics. For the youngest in your family, Superman Family Adventures might just be what you’re looking for. Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the Eighth Grade would fit on your shelf very well next to Superman Adventures. Superman: Secret Origin, while not the absolute best take on his early days, has some real charm and would be an ideal introduction for younger readers that won’t talk down to them in the slightest, and that you’ll probably like yourself (especially since it seems to be the ‘canon’ Superman origin again). If you’re interested in something retro, The Superman Chronicles cover his earliest stories from the 30s and 40s, and Showcase Presents: Superman collects many of his most classic adventures from the height of his popularity in the 50s and 60s. Age of the Sentry and Alan Moore’s Supreme would also work well. For slightly older kids (i.e. middle school), they might get a kick out of Mark Millar and Lenil Yu’s Superior, or What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way? And finally, for just plain fun Superman runs, I can’t ignore the last year of Joe Casey’s much-overlooked time on The Adventures of Superman.
7. Superman vs. Lex Luthor
What: Exactly what it says on the tin: a collection of 12 Luthor stories from his first appearance to the early 21st century.
Why: Well, he’s Superman’s biggest enemy, that’s why, and even on his own is one of the best villains of all time. Thankfully, this is an exceptionally well-curated collection of his greatest hits; pouring through this should give you more than a good idea of what makes him tick.
Recommendations: While he has a number of great showings in Superman-centric comics, his two biggest solo acts outside of this would be Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo’s Luthor (originally titled Lex Luthor: Man of Steel) and Paul Cornell’s run on Action Comics, where Lex took over the book for about a year. Also, one of Superman’s best writers, Elliot S! Maggin, contributed a few stories here - he’s best known for his brilliant Superman novels Last Son of Krypton and the aforementioned Miracle Monday, and he wrote a number of other great tales I picked some highlights from in another article.
8. Grant Morrison’s Action Comics
What: Spanning years, it begins in a different version of Superman’s early days, where an as-yet-flightless Clark Kent in a t-shirt and jeans challenged corrupt politicians, grappling with the public’s reaction to its first superhero even as his first true menace approaches from the stars. Showing his growth over time into the hero he becomes, he slowly realizes that his life has been subtly influenced by an unseen but all-powerful threat, one that in the climax will set Superman’s greatest enemies’ against him in a battle not just for his life, but for all of reality.
Why: The New 52 period for Superman was a controversial one at best, and I’d be the last to deny it went down ill-advised roads and made outright bone-stupid decisions. But I hope if nothing else this run is evaluated in the long run the way it deserves; while the first arc is framed as something of a Superman origin story, it becomes clear quickly that this is about his life as a whole, and his journey from a cocksure young champion of the oppressed in way over his head, to a self-questioning godling unsure of the limits of his responsibilities as his powers increase, and finally an assured, unstoppable Superman fighting on the grandest cosmic scale possible against the same old bullies. It gives him a true character arc without undermining his essential Superman-ness, and by the end it’s a contender for the title of the biggest Superman story of all.
Recommendations: Most directly, Morrison did a one-off mini-sequel to this run in Sideways Annual #1, where he gets to give his creation of t-shirt Superman a proper sendoff after he was quickly retconned out of the main line. Outside of this, Greg Pak’s runs on Action Comics and Batman/Superman, and Tom Taylor/Robson Rocha’s 3-issue Batman/Superman stint, as well as Scott Snyder, Jim Lee and Dustin Nguyen’s blockbuster mini Superman Unchained, are the best of the New 52 era. If you’re looking for more wild cosmic Superman adventure stories, Grant Morrison’s Superman Beyond is a beautiful two-part adventure (it ties in to his event comic Final Crisis but largely works standalone), and Joe Casey’s Mr. Majestic was a largely great set of often trippy cosmic-scale adventure comics with its Superman-esque lead. For something a little more gonzo, maybe try the hilariously bizarre Coming of the Supermen by Neal Adams. And while his role in it is relatively minor, if we’re talking cosmic Superman-related epics, Jack Kirby’s Fourth World has to be mentioned - it’s soon being reisssued once again in omnibus format.
9. Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
What: More than just the title story, DC issued a collection of all three of Watchmen writer Alan Moore’s Superman stories: For The Man Who Has Everything, where Superman finds himself trapped in his idea of his ideal life while Batman, Wonder Woman and Robin are in deadly danger in the real world, Jungle Line, where a deliriously ill and seemingly terminal Superman finds help in the most unexpected place, and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?, Moore’s version of the final Superman story.
Why: Dark Superman stories are a tricky tightrope to walk - go too far and you invalidate the core his world is built around - but Moore’s pretty dang good at his job. Whatever Happened you should wait to read until you’ve checked out some Superman stories from the 1960s first since it’s very much meant as a contrast to those, but For The Man Who Has Everything is an interesting look at Superman’s basic alienation (especially in regards to his characterization in that period of his publication history) with a gangbuster final fight, and Jungle Line is a phenomenal Superman horror story that uncovers some of his rawest, most deeply buried fears.
Recommendations: There are precious few other dark Superman stories that can be considered any real successes outside a few mentioned among other recommendations; the closest I can think of is Superman: For Tomorrow, which poses some interesting questions framed by gorgeous art, but has a reach tremendously exceeding its grasp. Among similar characters though, there are some real winners; Moore’s own time on Miracleman was one of the first and still one of the most effective looks at what it would mean for a Superman-like being to exist in the real world, and the seminal novel Superfolks, while in many ways of its time, was tremendously and deservedly influential on generations of creators. Moore had another crack at the end of a Superman-like figure in his Majestic one-shot, and the Change or Die arc of Warren Ellis’ run on Stormwatch (all of which is worth reading) presented a powerful, bittersweet look at a superman’s attempt at truly changing the world for the better.
10. All-Star Superman
What: Superman rescues the first manned mission to the sun, sabotaged by Lex Luthor. His powers have reached greater heights than ever from the solar overexposure, but it’s more than his cells can handle: he’s dying, and Lex has won at last. This is what Superman does with his last year of life.
Why: I put this at the bottom since it works better the more you like Superman, but if you’re only going to read one story on this list, this one has to be it. It’s one of the best superhero stories period, and it’s everything that’s wistful and playful and sad and magical and wonderful about Superman in one book.
Recommendations: If you’re interested in the other great “Death of Superman” story, skip the 90s book and go to co-creator Jerry Siegel and Curt Swan’s 60s ‘Imaginary Story’, also one of the best Superman stories ever, and particularly one of Luthor’s best showings. If you got a kick out of the utopian ‘Superman fixes everything’ feel of a lot of it, try The Amazing Story of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue! The Supergirl run of Steve Orlando tries to operate on a pretty similar wavelength, and was definitely the best thing coming out of the Superman family of books at the time. The recent Adventures of Superman anthology series has a number of creators try and do their own ‘definitive’ Superman stories, often to great results. Help, ostensibly a Lex Luthor story by Jeff Loveness and David Williams in DC’s Beach Blanket Bad Guy’s Special, is in fact as feel-good a take on Superman’s relevancy as there is. And Avengers 34.1 starring Hyperion by Al Ewing and Dale Keown taps into All-Star’s sense of an elevated alien perspective paired with a deep well of humanity to different but still moving results.

My time with karla
Ok so bali’s good for the first two weeks, we have some wonderful adventures, and we eventually find our way to ubud for the first of many times, and we find a flyer for this free ocean yoga festival in amed a few days later (on the east side of the island) we’re super intrigued and we head to canggu for a few days before we go out to amed. In canggu, this wonderful girl (who will soon change my life) shows up and we hit it off. Shes orginally mexican, but she, like me, left her home country. In her journey, she moved to the states for a few years, and then flew out and has been in chiang mai for the last year or so. We sat in the pool for a bit upon meeting and spoke for a long while. It was almost a magneticism, karla and i, we just really enjoyed eachothers company. So we kept hanging out over the next few days. We slacklined, did some yoga, and really just connected. Meanwhile the gang and i went and saw FKJ, NIghtmares on Wax, and Slow Magic at this bougie festival at the W hotel and we met up with rain and fox (for the first of a few times) from the burn. The festival was hilarious, as we just got plastered and had a fucking blast, pulled some shenangigans, and were the life of the party...or should i say the life of the super fancy hotel.
Anyways we told karla about this festival we found out about and she asked if she could accompany us. It made me super happy how direct and open she was. And i remember being a bit nervous, but i wanted to let her know that i was interested in sharing a room together if she was into it. After we talked, and agreed to share a room, we all made our way out to amed on the 4 or 5 hour ride.
Arriving in the evening the hotel lost our reservations and through a 45 minute process of events, we eneded up getting upgraded to an unbelieveably beautiful sister hotel of theirs, for the same price. This place was an actual temple, It was incredible. We shouldnt have been allowed to stay there, it was directly on the beach and had 3 enormous rooms with two outdoor showers and a kitchen and living room. So karla and i got our own private little villa in back where over the course of the week our relationsihp and bond deepened as we explored each other and ourselves in the form of love making, sharing, beautiful workshops we explored and amazing ecstatic dance partys. She was a brilliant and lovely companion. She was excited to try new things, she loved meditation and she was so hilarious. She was kind and gentle and loving, and she had my back. It was the first time id ever really felt that a companion could really provide support for me too, a true partner, and equal. I very quickly fell into an ocean of love, but a love this time, without infatuation. A love with (as the community of tamera would define) my blue ball in tact, and still with me, and a love with true contact. A love that seemed to carry intention, awareness, gentleness and consideration. A love to be proud of, with no shame, guilt, fear, or demands. Would this girl play a role in my future? I didnt know, and didnt really dwell, i was just happy for the time that was happening.
We decided, a few days in, to trip on acid together. It was ultimately a really incredible experience and i went pretty deep into my own mind. I took away a few things. First off, i deepened my connection to trees, as in many ways i felt as if i embodied a tree and grounded myself into my life and into those around me in order to support them. But i also experienced something else interesting, i felt the support of karla, it felt that because she was fully able to take care of herself, and even had extra to give, that i could finally feel supported in my own journey as opposed to focus on taking care of someone else. It felt almost as though i was so much stronger because i had someones support behind me. This was definitely something new for me in a relationship and it became very clear during our trip together. In the past, ive been used to feeling like i am consistantly taking care of two people, and with karla, it felt as if i i both of us were watching out of both of us. At the end of the day, it was super nice that she was open to tripping and i see that the manifestation of a psychedelic lady is coming to fruition which makes me so happy and excited for the future
In the next two weeks we contintued connecting, checking in and exploring. We dealt with the challenges of me balancing my time between her and my group of friends and i learned a great deal. I learned how important a group is to me, and how hard it is for me to feel seperated while im spending in a group. I think it triggered feelings, like i must choose between people i love, when i really love them all and i want to dedicate time and energy to everyone. I know for part of the time mikey expressed feelings of “losing” me to karla, and feeling like our trip was starting to diverge from what we had originially planned (ill go into this more in depth at a later point)
Through these challenges, we grew, and communicated and so to lighten the mood ill share some funny stories that happened along the way.
Scooter story
So one night during the ocean yoga festival, there was an ecstatic dance experience. Ecstatic dance is an awesome forum for expression through movement. Its basically a 2 hour dj set where everyone has the space to dance however feels good for them, they can do yoga, meditate, dance together, dance alone etc etc. It’s basically a space that holds the freedom to move and enjoy without alcohol or drugs. So the location of the ecstatic dance was a bit far out, but we had done some acro yoga there a few days before so we knew the route, the night was amazing and we danced our faces off, and i got a bunch of new songs via my shazam addiction.
flash forward a few days, there was another dance party out on the beach right in front of the yoga shalla where we had danced only nights before. Because the journey was so long (30 minute drive) and it was already night time, one of our friends that we had met offered a short cut. He owned one of the restaurants in amed, blue earth, which and INCREDIBLE charcoal pizza. Like, this pizza was so good we got it seven times, thats how good it was. I would give the rest of my lifes savings, just to eat a life time supply of this pizza. Anyway, so we get this short cut where we basically drive to the beach and walk 20 minutes down the beach. We park the bike and for some reason decide to lock the key hole, just in case there are theives by the beach and we didnt want our bike to get stolen blah blah blah. So we lock the bike and something weird happens where it seemed like the lock was stuck. No worries, we headed down the beach and started our treck to the party. The walk was lovely, along the beach at night, and we finally arrived to the bonfire party combo. We stayed for a while and danced and chatted, but after a while we both felt the call to get the fuck back home. As we walked back came across some bio luminscense!! The plankton in the water was so beautiful so we played fora bit, as it was the highlight of our evening. So we contintued on and after some time arrived to the bike which we would find out soon, was inevitably locked forever. Its not that the keyhole lock was messed up, its that the back of the key itself which unlocks the keyhole lock, was worn down and stripped. It was at that point i realized that i had no more internet on my phone plan and after about 40 mins of tryign to look up youtube videos of how to break into our bike, and about 5 people coming by and failing to help us, we decided to try and contact mikey or max to help us out. It was about 1:30am and after about 6 tries, max finally answered, thank fucking god. I tried to keep him on the phone, explaining to him the mild emergency, and thank god about a half hour later, mikey and he pulled up and took us back. After a long, exhausting evening, we slumbered into the night, gearing up for the next days journey to kuala lampur for my visa extention.
Last last lastly, we had a fun experience one evening that is particularly worth noting. We were starting to explore a bit of intimacy one evening and as we got a little deeper into it, my earing got caught in her nose ring and karla and i got stuck for like five minutes cause our faces were so close together that we couldnt see how to undo it. it killed me and heres some evidence belowww

RE: Hiveswap '17-09-14
IT. HAS. ARRIVED.
FINALLY!
Wow, it feels so unreal, but we're gonna do it! Tonight we'll install the game and hopefully play a little bit already. We've decided to install the DRM-free version, I just hope we won't regret missing out on any achievements or shit.
Dang though, I can't wait to see what neat little tidbits of the Homestuck universe we'll get to learn about. What vague conspiracies Jude believes in (or not) that we can snicker about. What references to old memes we'll encounter. (Is... Is that John Cusack?) ... The ones that What Pumpkin could make without infringing on copyright, that is.
Will there be references to Bro? To ancestors of the original A2 troll group? It just dawned on me 'A2 trolls' is no longer a valid descriptor to distinguish the twelve orginals from other character trolls. It's probably still going to be used, but I suppose 'Homestuck trolls' and 'Hiveswap trolls' is a valid distinction too.
I'm certainly excited to learn more about Grandpa Harley! Anything that demystifies those elusive Guardians is a gift indeed!
Over the past few days, we've seen the hype building. We Love Fine sending out mails, I think to promote new prints, haven't watched actually. And just now that we check our mail, it turns out there's a new release on Bandcamp, even on the Homestuck one, not a new one! It's... probably the Grubbles album? Probably? :)
So, without much further ado, let's go and see!
----
Ooh, the download also includes the music!
I wonder what the deal is with Humblebundle's "sign in to claim this page" link.
Oooh, the game is 1.9 GB (archived)! I don't know what I was expecting, but it's definitely largeish!
Heehee, I like the logo icon, HS against a spiral sucker background. (Could be used for a future pin.) The spiral will be an integral part of the key to the portal, but I wonder if it'll show up elsewhere.
The archive contains 277 files... accounting for a whopping 5 Gigabyte! Wowee!
---
Wow, that menu looked gorgeous. I love that the castle is taunted, even though it doesn't have the focus in this game. Talk about a bait and switch!
I've come to wonder, after reading the first few introductory lines for Joey, whether it's not Hauntswitch though, that would be quite something! That make for good material for the other game! A mysterious place, not just a mansion, to explore with Jude and Dammek. Maybe the town was originally called "Haunt's Witch" or something.
Anyway, the intro was every bit as delightful as I could hope.
And Joey's introduction every bit as Homestuck.
"SEMI-ORPHAN", though. :( Guess Grandpa really neglects his parental duties. "ASPIRING VETERINARIAN" :D Being good with animals is probably part of why Tesseract looks so well fed. And it'll help her on Alternia, no doubt. And even now, to know the monsters' weaknesses and how to perhaps passify them? Also, I wonder if "multiple" dance schools means she knows more than tap dance and ballet!
I love how the backgrounds come to live, it's just so good to look at them in the intended resolution! The music is so good, too. Really top notch job all around!
Eesh, I notice that using Alt+Tab to switch between Windows has the downside that Alt is also a key that forwards the dialogue...
I guess the laser backdrop from those teaser pictures, is just the default background for the playable character's icon!
Heheheh, the hint function is disabled for now. My bet is it's enabled as soon as you have the magnifying glass. "it won't any good" <- typo
OOOOOOOH!!! GOD YES!! Hiveswap supports multiple save files!! That. Is. A. Life saver. Saving just before a battle? Before combining Glowy Thing 1 with Sinister Crevass 2? Hell yes.
Hmm, something buggy about clicking on Joey's icon at this stage. The cursor turned into an iris, and I had to click the hint button to get it away.
Ooooh! Hell yes, the header can be minimized!!!
LOOKing at the calendar, it turns out the date is ACTUALLY NOVEMBER 11TH, 1994!! God dag nabbit! So, what, the monsters have something to do with Betty Crocker? Did Condy try something on 2x2 prong day in B1, it failed, and then she just thought to herself "needs more prongs" and did it again later in B2?
We can try to MARK the calendar, yet it's already got a cross for the date. Oh, heh, that just gives the same response. It's probably to keep us on our toes, since we can't be sure every command has a different outcome!
LOOKing at the ballet shoes, we learn about Joey's aspirations to create "Ballap", pfffff.
And, welp, guess Print Screen is also an action key.
EQUIPing the ballet shoes... We learn about ABILITECHS and TECHNICHES. Perfection. Goodbye SYLLADICES and SPECIBII! Say hello to the good old school technology of our youth. :P "In my day, we didn't have those newfangled SYLLADILLIES you youngsters swing about, oh no!"
LOOKing at the posters, Joey talks about how her posters talk to her in her dreams, talking about a better world past the stars. I doubt they mean Alternia. :P Also, dreams, eh? Even if she's not a Sburb players, her dreams could still be prophetic in a way.
Clicking on the light switch... Actually works, hahah! I thought for sure the power would be out right now!
Oh, so the eyeball was meant to go on the ceiling only, heh. And, the plush on the bed. N'awww, so Joey and Ms. Clair both worked on the ceiling. And she calls it a "mural", which of course reminds me of the ones in Problem Sleuth!
Oh, the oven near the closet was her birthday present "last year". I wonder what her birthday is. Seems like it's more of a children's oven, in that it probably doesn't produce edible cake, I think? (Welp @ her comment regarding not having a mom.)
And speaking of Moms!! The wizard globe is present from Mom! Or, well, Roxy, I guess she should be called. The B1 version. So she really IS Joey and Jude's babysitter. Or at the very least, she was until last year. Wait, no, it doesn't specify a year. Anyway, I guess this little corner of her room is full of presents she's received. Also, Roxy be Roxying.
Oooh, those books start Joey of on a BOOK REPORT she has to hand in! She goes to school! Or at least, has tutors. Pfff, Old Yeller reference for the win. "You kind of hate your teachers sometimes." Yeah, let's keep Tess nice and safe, shall we?
I like Blaperile's idea that Jude would take Dammek to school. Since they're probably going to be swapped for sometime, it just might happen. Imagining Dammek sitting in class, refusing to take off a high hat. Hmm, okay, but November 11th is a Friday apparently (dang American week day numbering system!) so it's probably not going to happen. I think 48 hours is more than enough time to swap them back.
Blaperile saw that November 11th was a holiday for America just like it is where we live, so that means Joey & Jude probably spent the whole day goofing around with Tess like we saw in the intro scene. Veterans Day, more like Aspiring Veterinarians Day, amirite?
---
So, first few steps in the game, taken. Save file location, found. (Can't hide from me, I'm a programmer!) Hype feelings, assuaged. :D
I'm captivated by what few things I've already seen, looking forward to the next!
For people eager to see me and Blaperile's gameplay reaction, strap on, it's going to be a long ride! (If you're wondering why we don't just film ourselves playing - English isn't our first language.)

Shot 010
Here is shot 010:
This one is pretty simple, just paint out the two men on the side and there is another man who walks across the screen aswell.
Here is my tasks:
1: Paint out the man on the stairs - this should be easy as I can just clone the stairs towards the side of him.
2: Remove the both men walking behind the pillars. This will be a bit more challenging as I will need a card for the back wall and then a seperate one for the pillars.
3: Remove the plastic cup in the middle of the top left pillars. This was not noticed on the shoot.
4: Paint out a mould part of the stairs. This could be mistaked as a bad clean up job. Best to just take it out.
5: Roto out the dancer for showreel.
Tracking:
NOW, I had a nightmare tracking this scene. I am working in 4K and trying to get the Nuke camera tracker solve error below 1 was a challenge. After hours of trying to figure this out and worrying, I asked Tom the next day for help and he told me that with 4K, a solve error or 3 is acceptable.... 1 is just for HD....
Tom then helped me get the best track i could. We got it to 1.1
The clean up... I tried model builder, but i just can not get my head around it with the stairs. The lectuers have been really busy with 2nd Years FMP pitches, so I think for now, i am just going to do it the way I am confident in, 3D cards.
I know that i still need paralax so i will do each step at a time. Logically, gonna start at the bottom and work my way up.
Orginal:
RotoPaint
Roto - As you can see above, I painted out more then i was targetting. This is because i wantted to feather my masks out to blend in more. If i didnt paint out the show in the above stair, then the foot may have appeared in the feather.
Clean Up
I then repeated this for each stair:
TRICKS I USED: In order to make sure each step was tracking correctly, I did ended my Roto shapes on the natural lines in the stairs. This meant i could line up my clean up correctly and easily tell when it slips.
Clean up the rest of the man:
Then i went to the floor correction:
Here is the bit of mould. Up close you can tell what it is, but from afar, you can’t. It looks like i have messed up.
Painted it out and masked it off. Again i did the whole step just so i could make sure it was the right place and not slipping
Then i tackled the man in the corner: On the frame I was painting on, there is a bit of the man in the corner so i am going to paint him out:
Orginal:
Clean:
I was worried that this line looked dodgy so i checked before i put ths clean card on.
It is still there, so i wanna check the orginal footage
Stil there, thats good, means that i didn’t mess it up
Here is what I ’ve got so far. This is on the last frame it looks kinda clean (apart form that cup.
But when you go forward in the clip it reveals this:
Man running behind pillars on right hand side removal:
Orginal:
Top half gone: (Used 2 roto shapes) For this bit, I’ve made sure to line it up with the lines on the wall and the pillar. I also selected a point from the point cloud which is quite far back to make sure i was tracking the wall.
In order to paint the rest of this man out, I need to make a clean plate for the back wall. The reason for this is due to the parlax between the wall and the railings.
Painted out the railing:
Masked off the section i needed. I included some of the pillar just to use as a reference to make sure it is sitting correctly.
The outcome from the scanline render:
Rotoscoping the railings and part of the pillar.
Merging it over the footage. Still need to add the little details back in.
But here is what i’ve got so far. Just need to add more details onto the railing and paint out the feet.
youtube
First Clean Up Test. Looks fine to me right now, but i will reevaulate after looking at different shots and having a break at staring at the same things. I will also get a sign off from the lectuers on this shot.
Overall I’m happy though.
youtube
So i have actually already spotted something wrong with this render:
Below is what the render showed, There is no detail on the bottom of the pilar.
I have just rotoscoped it back in.

9 Tips You Can Do To Change Your Online MLM Business Forever
Trying to build your online MLM business but not having any success yet?
Here are 9 tips that you can do that will change your business Forever!
Building an MLM business is already a lot of work. Building it online is a whole new ball game. I found out myself when I first got started. Here are the 9 tips that will change your business forever when you implement them. Talk to more people, talk less listen more, ask better questions, invest in yourself, hire a coach, stay coachable, read more books, use your company tools, and finally, learn how to market.
What Goes Into Building A Network Marketing Business Online
Here are the core things I think you’ll need to be successful online in no particular order.
You’ll need to talk to as many people as you can. Active prospecting (you reaching out to people) will never go out of style and It will never stop working. It will always be relevant and effective.
You need to learn how to properly market and build your email list.
You should plug into a marketing system so you can keep up with the latest strategies and techniques so you don’t get left behind.
And the last thing, you need to stay consistent and take action! Actually that tip right there should have been one of the orginal tips.
Network marketing is a people business. So building a business online is going to require the same thing as building it offline and that’s talking to people.
The more people you talk to the greater chance you’re going to have to gain a new customer or business partner.
With doing it online, however, you can leverage yourself and time in ways that just can’t be done with the traditional way of building a network marketing business.
For example, you could create a video that people could watch 24/7 and anywhere in the world. Think about it, yea coffee shop meetings are effective but how many can you do in one day? How many home parties can you do in a day or even a week?
I’m not saying these strategies don’t work, in fact, I highly suggest you do them, in the beginning, to get some momentum going.
You’ll need to have some patience as it will take some time and you need to be consistent.
The Biggest Mistakes Network Marketers Make Online
The number one mistake network marketers make online is they give away way to much information.
What I mean is, if I can look at your social media profile or look at your content and it’s nothing but an advertisement for whatever company you’re in, you are doing it wrong.
You should always lead with YOU first.
I don’t care how good your product or service might be if your prospects don’t think you can help them achieve their goals, they won’t join you, period!
So posting, things, like Join my team or buy my product, becomes very ineffective, yet so many people do it. It blows my mind.
If network marketing was that easy as just posting stuff like that everyone would be millionaires.
Make this simple mindset shift, Say less to more people.
How To Get Started With Online MLM Business
It all starts up top in your head and that means having the right expectations from the start.
So here is what you can expect from the start, first it’s going to take time. It took me a few months before I even made my first sale. That’s not to say that’s normal, some people have gotten results faster than me.
If you do then great! But don’t expect the checks to be rolling in after the first week.
Hell, you might struggle for a few years.
All I’m saying is it’s different for everyone. It boils down to your work ethic and how consistent you are.
Start the right way by providing value to people. Educate yourself and then turn around and share what you are learning.
Your Most Important Online Asset
I also suggest you focus on building your list as soon as possible.
A marketing list is simply a collection of names, email addresses and sometimes phone numbers of people who have requested more information about something.
Now to get people to give you their information you must give them something in exchange first. Here on my blog, I have a free audio that teaches home business owners some of the best places to find leads online.
Someone must give me their name and email address then I give them the free audio. Then they go onto my marketing list.
These are highly targeted leads, they already know who I am through my content. Targeted leads like this are of much higher quality vs the leads that you buy.
I made a mistake and didn’t take my list building serious at first.
Your marketing list is your most valuable asset online in my opinion. I got started with a service called Aweber and I still use it to this day.
It’s not expensive, I think they even have a free trial for a month so you can check everything out first.
Who Would Benefit Most From Your Product Or Service?
And don’t say everybody. When you try to market to everybody you end of marketing to nobody.
When I generate a lead online and they leave me a phone number depending on how that conversation goes is what I offer them as a solution.
A lot of the people I talk to are already happy in their current business and that’s great, I never try to convince someone to join me if they are happy with their current company I leave it at that.
If I find out they are happy my next question is usually something along the lines of, so how are you doing with generating leads online?
If they say not good, I’ll simply ask them, Would they be open at looking at something that could solve that problem. If they say yea, I send the information over.
I did a series of blog post that went into detail on the types of questions I ask my leads. Check them out if you’re interested in learning more about prospecting.

Should You Talk To Your Family and Friends?
Don’t be in the MLM witness protection program, of course, you want to tell your friends and family about your new business. A lot of times that’s where you’ll get your first customer or business partner.
I would just ask them to take a look and maybe support you by buying a product or maybe getting on an auto-ship. You never know, they might love the product and want to share it with their circle of friends. Then you could show them the business side on how they could turn it into a business for themselves.
Don’t just assume they wouldn’t be interested.
Let me tell you there is no worse feeling than someone you know personally being recruited by someone else in the same company. I’ve actually had this happen to me before.
Not a good feeling at all.
So get out there and let your friends and family know what you’re doing.

Loupedeck for Adobe Lightroom 6 & CC
Loupedeck is awesome, Loupedeck is great, Loupedeck makes me a better retoucher simply because its rekindled my love of RAW processing and as sad as it sounds I do actually love what I do which is mostly retouching photos.
Now that's a pretty open and shut statement to start an article with but it's important to not waste your time thinking you're about to read (or not) anything other than a positive look at what I think is a positive step forward in the photo manipulation world.
Why Lightroom? (warning: sob story coming up)
Here's something that's important to understand about why I use Lightroom. I use Lightroom for retouching at speed! I've been a dedicated user since it was in beta, what must have been 10 years ago, which is about the same time I started shooting property and weddings. Disciplines which both require retouching a high volume of images in a very short time.
Over the years after sitting up all night after a busy day shooting retouching hundreds of images into the early hours knowing I had to get them finished and send off before doing the same thing all over again in just a few hours I looked for ANY way to get through pictures quicker. I used actions, presets, tried other software, tried outsourcing, tried enlisting help from other photographers. My own wife (who's a doctor and nothing to do with photography) even at one point after seeing me constantly working and not sleeping more than a few hours every night asked if I could teach her how to retouch so she could help. So I come from a place of "Please for the love of all that is good someone design something to make my life easier!"
AND SO ALONG COMES LOUPEDECK......
Loupedeck was orginally a 'indiegogo' project (and how I wish I'd known about it back then just look at the backer perks! I would've loved that trip to try it out with the hotel)
I'd read about several other editing console products for Lightroom in the past and they all looked... ok. I think it was a facebook post featuring an article about Loupedeck's first finished units being shipped that caught my attention. I was getting very bored with Lightroom, sounds odd yes, but truly I was. Day in, day out, I would use the same trusty presets, do the same things, with the same sliders on my Wacom Tablet. I even took to using Apps like 'be focused pro' to try to challenge myself by improving my productivity. I had overlays for my keyboard from amazon, shortcuts assigned to the wacom tablet, but I still wondered if I could work faster - yet maintain the same quality.
Whilst on holiday I started watching youtube videos of people using Loupedeck. They were all very simple reviews that didn't really show me the actual unit properly. I wanted to see all the knobs and know if it was possible to use two or more at once. I started writing to loupedeck and Felix a very kind and helpful rep started writing back. A week into my holiday I thought 'Ah to hell with it! I spent the money and ordered 'my' Loupedeck.
5 - 7 days later....
It's here! It came in two boxes. The first is white with Loupedeck printed on it and inside that a black embossed box again with the words Loupedeck. I'm not going to go into anymore details here, whilst like it's design it's a box... many others on youtube will do far better justice to it in unboxing sessions.
Straight away I download the firmware for my mac and plug the unit into a usb port. A light came on, I opened Lightroom to be greeted with a message
'Loupedeck thinks you look great today' Well thank you Loupedeck that's very kind. A window pops up presenting me with options to customise Loupedeck.
I assign the top P buttons to presets, C1 dial to perspective correction, C2 button to gradient, and C3 to Radial gradient. That should do me for the moment. That's about it from there you can leap straight into things.
One pretty cool function I didn't know it did - If you press any of the dial it resets that value, for example if I spin a colour wheel and don't like what I've done rather than spin it back again I just press down on it it makes a satisfying 'click' and the value returns to 0.
All dials and wheels spin and turn 360 degrees which is good. Whilst I'm on this subject the turning mechanism and indeed dials are really well made. It doesn't feel loose or that they are going to come off anytime soon. Some of the buttons are a little stiff on rare occasions, my right arrow key for example tends to get slightly stuck but I think this is isolated to my unit and is the type of thing that would happen to any product you buy it's really not a big deal but it's the only negative I can find to the mechanical function of the unit.
The main unit is made of plastic, it's light and means when I'm working with the unit and my hands are resting on it it is not cold like aluminium might be. A few things at this point I would have liked. The first is a detachable USB cable like my wacom tablet, just incase the usb wire fails I would normally just replace it but when it's attached to the device I'd have to send it back to repairs. Better yet bluetooth. My only other criticism of the construction is the groove with holds the wire might be better if it let the wire sit a little deeper, mine tends to pop out ever so slightly.
So down to it , I started retouching some images. Within ten minutes I work out this isn't something you can just start twiddling the knobs and dials of and expect it to make you infinitely quicker than you were before. You have to learn where everything on the device is just like typing on a keyboard, at first you have to keep looking down looking at the letters you're typing then back up at the screen to check you've put them in the right order, but the more you practice the more you learn where those letters are and before you know it you're just staring at the screen typing and moving your fingers by instinct. It took me just over a month to get to that place with Loupedeck but when I did... 'wow'.. yes I was able to work much quicker than before.
I found I was working dials in groups of two, I'd be pulling the blacks down and the whites up simultaneously The same with the shadows and highlights, contrast and clarity, in fact at one point I realised I started using the edge of my palm pulling down the blacks whilst my little finger pulled up the shadows and my other hand the highlights!
Using the colour wheels is also incredibly quick! In my job at certain times of the year or after certain weather like rain the camera has a tendency to capture grass as a very bright yellow. When this happens I typically pull the luminance of the yellow down then the hue of the yellow up (to make it more green), then the saturation to the yellow down slightly to bring it back to the green colour that it should be, in the past that would involve a lot of clicking and sliding the panels with the graphics tablet, now i press the appropriate button to select 'lum', 'hue', or 'sat', and just to the right of them are all my colour wheels perfect! The led light to the side of lum, hue, and sat is incredibly useful. I do wish the colour wheels had some of these faint led's or something to illuminate them in the dark. I tend to dim all lights and cut out external light sources when retouching so that external light and colours don't influence the light and colours I'm seeing on the screen.
Now I know I said I can use the dials without looking, but that's also partly because they are well spread out. I love the set up of the colour wheels and I wouldn't want it changed but it is more difficult to know which wheel goes with which colour without looking. I have slight issues with the darker blue. I kept getting it mixed up with the colour to the right of it in dim lighting, I manipulate the colour blue a lot so in the end I put a tiny glow in the dark dot on my unit so a very quick glance down confirms where that colour is.
All the other buttons on the unit work really well. I particularly like the way you can swap between rating images by colour or numbers and by clicking between the two options you get an on screen message.
There are two Zoom buttons, I kind of wish one of these had been replaced with something else like 'select WB point' or even better another custom dial! The custom dial is a really strong point of the unit and by pressing the Fn key you can assign this custom dial another function which can be set up in the Loupedeck options menu.
Performance...
You can customise how fast Loupesdeck reacts based on how fast or slow you spin dials (I'm not sure what I've just typed makes sense??) basically... you can change the settings so that a small turn makes a BIG change on the slider or the other way around - dial sensitivity.. I can't think of another way to describe it. I've not played around with it too much as I'm used to how the dials work by default. One thing I do find is the more confident I get the more I start trying to spin dials and wheels really fast. It backfires on me in that the particular dial or wheel will adjust the slider up and then it'll 'rubber band' back down again. That's my bad 'bull in a china shop' mentality. Whats better practice is to work quickly but to not go too nutts on the unit.
Changes you make on Loupedeck adjust incredibly quickly on screen no real lag at all (unless its Lightroom lag which you'd get whether you were using the unit of not). One thing that does happen is as you make adjustments don't expect the visual sliders on the right to show up if they're not currently on your screen. So if my colour sliders menu is closed and I adjust the colour wheels on Loupedeck the panel doesn't open up on the screen, you'd have to actually click it open to see this (or press a key board short cut should one exist for that panel). If this happens and you're working quickly not wanting to click open panels you can't see then you can adjust be sight.
slightly off topic RANT WARNING!..
Any sort of performance issues I experienced are based more on Adobe's relationship with Apple which I think has plagued Lightroom for a good few years now. I remember back in 2014 when we bought new imacs with the new screens only to find Lightroom was';t compatible with the high resolution screens meaning we had to either reduce the resolution of the screen or make the windows substantially smaller to get a smooth Lightroom working environment. The same thing has happened again. I'm currently on a mid 2017 imac and as soon as Lightroom cc Classic dropped I noticed a huge increase in Lag I won't go into that now, only that the issue became so incredibly frustrating it actually made me revert back to Lightroom 6 as a stand alone copy and eventually move my RAW workflow mostly to Capture One Pro.
Rant over and back to Loupedeck.
There's a nifty little export button on the unit, all it does is open the export window, again I think it could've been used for something else, however as it's there I do use it, and I challenge anyone not to get the weirdest sense of joy pressing it when you're done, it's the strangest thing.
PRESETS
Loupedeck comes with some Lightroom presets, I've not used them. I tend to make my own presets rather than use other peoples, for no other reason than I just don't. So using them I've no idea if they're good or not since I've not any experience of using others in that regard it's wrong for me to judge them, but just to say they're there if you want to have a look once you buy the unit.
BUYING AND PRICE
Several places sell Loupedeck now a google search would show you UK stockists. I got mine directly from the website and it arrived in a week, I'm sure I remember paying close to 329 euros but currently on their site it's 249 euros, so in my opinion that's really very good value.
Loupedeck with other RAW editing software.
So when I was completely fed up with Lightroom Classic cola CC or whatever they're calling it at the moment. I wrote to the guys and gals at Loupedeck to ask if they had any plans to expand to other software. I'll be honest my love of this unit is the only thing still keeping me hanging on to Adobe's raw processing software at this point. They wrote back to say they are currently in talks with some other companies.
Then last month a very clever person posted on a facebook group I'm a member of they had got Loupedeck working with Capture One. Incredibly excited I got all the info and gave it a go myself.
Now basically what this clever person did was to program Loupedeck as a midi device with some purchaseable software called 'Bome'. You then just reassign the dials and buttons to Capture one functions. And 'by golly gosh' it actually works!... Ok so the colour wheels don't actually do what they're meant to do but are just assignable as buttons, and YES I accept you could just get any midi device for far cheaper and do the same but I have Loupedeck so thought I'd try it, it's just a fun thing.
Something pretty cool I was able to do was to assign brush size adjusting to a dial, it's incredible smooth and easy to use. This made me think, if Loupedeck 2 should ever appear how about a brush size dial?!
Using Bome in no way gets rid of Loupedecks proper software you just need to remember to close bome before opening Lightroom. It's a bit of fun but no substitute for the real thing of using Loupedeck with it's proper dedicated software with Lightroom.
Loupedeck alternatives
Loupedeck is awesome why on earth would you want to use anything else?! :) Incase you do or like me you're slowly watching Adobe doing weird and wonderful things with Lightroom, and change your RAW editing software here are some others you can look at (sources and prices are correct as of December 2017) Please note: I've not used any of these I'm just putting them out there for anyone to research further should they desire, it's actually this research that lead to me end up buying Loupedeck.
PALETTE
These look pretty nifty you kind of build you'r own kit, however quite pricey to me!
TANGENT
I found out about these whilst researching control devices for Capture One, lots of variety. Prices range from £300 - a lot of money :)
BEHRINGER MINI X-TOUCH (OR OTHER MIDI DEVICES)
The cheapest option but also the most manual set up needed, you basically plug these 'bad boys' in and assign controls from lightroom to the buttons and dials. I did order one in July from Amazon for £50 but after a month of waiting I gave up and bought Loupedeck instead. There are lots of guides about how to set these up on youtube, but obviously you run the risk of it stopping working after Lightroom updates. People seem to like the model to the left because like Loupedeck the dials are unobstructed.
So there you have it
There are other options out there but despite this I'd still buy Loupedeck in a heartbeat. I think it's incredibly well priced, it just works (unlike apple and adobes relationship these days it seems) it is constantly being worked on with positive updates and it is most definitely becoming more and more popular, appearing in more shops and online outlets all the time.
As I am quite passionate about this device I will keep my eyes peeled for any new developments in the Loupedeck camp with updates and new products so do check back here for any new news. Or lets be honest you could just check on their site.. Check here or there it makes no difference, they're worth your attention and keeping your photographic eyes on in the future.
NOTE: THIS IS A COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT REVIEW I HAVE NO CURRENT ASSOCIATION WITH LOUPEDECK (However if they would like to reach out and form one based on this review they can hit my contacts section... I'm just saying...)
I'll be doing some live sessions using Loupedeck soon so another thing if you are interseted to stop by for.
