I very very very much don't want that but some theories around here started getting to me.

For example the fact that we don't know Kenjaku's technique and how it works, also in the recent fanbook in Gojo's timeline the airport scene was referred as "a certain place" not afterlife.

Also his end was uncharacteristically 'happy' for jjk. Yes, his body is still used but his soul escaped the exploitation.

Thanks for submitting a question - I don’t get many of these! What an honour that someone wants to hear my thoughts 😆 You’ve opened the floodgates of my mind, so proceed with caution 🙈

I’ll preface by saying that I generally feel that people can believe what they want to, so I don’t typically go out of my way to impose my opinion if I disagree with someone about their views. It’s just about being respectful I guess? I kinda wonder what theories there are out there about his revival, because I don’t engage with the content-makers much at all.

I will say I’m not ignorant to them, and do sometimes come across some posts on twitter & Reddit of that nature. Nobara and Gojo seem to be the most popular for revivalists. I get the impression that these posts dissect phrases / how things are described, or focus on the symbolism of specifics like that of lotuses’ regarding rebirth… but I think it doesn’t change what cannot be changed. Gege has hinted at his stance of them not returning for some time with how the story has been unfolding. Correct me if I’m wrong, and I know satosugu fans also do this for their “ship”, the only difference I perceive is that theorists exclude evidence that refutes their opinions (i.e. cherry picking things that become twisted into conclusions) and therefore it becomes a confirmation bias.

For example, the lotus symbolises many things, including purity due to how the blossoms grow in the murky depths of muddy water. Not necessarily rebirth in isolation. The lotus also carries some meaning in enlightenment. Resolve for growing despite its conditions. So... ince again, it’s not necessarily just rebirth.

In terms of the permanence of death… The have been too many reiterations of the narrator and reactions of characters that describe Gojo’s death for it to not be fact. I know this will disappoint those hoping for a comeback, and I think this question wouldn’t be posed if there wasn’t a sliver of hope that Gojo would “return”. I dunno, I guess I have mixed feelings about this because why just Gojo? Because he was the strongest, therefore he “deserved” to live again? His students need him? But… What about Choso? He didn’t get to be more of a human. And Nobara? Was that all her young life amounted to? What about Yaga? Didn’t panda need his dad? And Nanami? He didn’t get to go to Kuantan or retire with his riches he slaved for as a salaryman. Countless others, really. And let’s not forget Geto. He deserved to have a better life too. Did he not? (I, for one, would love for Gojo to come back on scene if Geto could as well... but... yeah. Alas. 😔)

So I guess I naturally have to ask: If it was so easy for the dead to rise again, why was it not possible for others who have died before Gojo? Also, unlike others, Gojo didn’t seem to reject the possibility of his death, so unlike Sukuna who had an interest in becoming cursed objects to extend his life or Kenjaku who body hopped, of Tengen who erased people... Gojo had no such wish, and felt he would “win either way” whether he lived or died in battle. This was his philosophy that was akin to a Military General. He was, to his core, very objective and accepting. It was both a strength and a weakness - just as Gege described in his character book.

Speaking of being a character… within Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru was just one person. Gege spoke about his process behind Yuji as the main protagonist over Megumi and how Gojo’s role as the sensei was sealed after JJK0, whereas Yuta could be omitted. What remains true is that Gojo wasn’t the lead protagonist of the series. It would narratively be a disservice to Yuji, Megumi, and Yuta as members of the new generation.

What remains also true is that he was loved as a character. His legacy had been left. He made a significant dent in combatting the biggest threat to humanity. His role has been fulfilled... as fans we can continue to love him and recognise his impact. I think Gege depicting him in so many flashbacks is an ode to him in many ways. I don’t think it would be done like this if he were “returning”. It just does not make sense.

If we also think about what Gojo wanted as a character, or as an individual - I think he also found his own fulfilment. He didn’t want to return. I’ve come across some interesting perspectives of international fans who opened my eyes to a different perspective too: that Geto was happy to support him “as long as he was satisfied” and wasn’t going to urge him to go back - if going back was even possible in the first place. Because Geto prioritised Gojo as a person and not as the role of sensei or role as the strongest. So if Gojo was satisfied enough, Geto was satisfied that he was there to stay in the afterlife.

Let’s talk about directions too. North, according to Mei Mei, seemed to mean... rebirth. To become someone new. No where does it say that returning back to life was a possibility. Was she even right in the first place? Was the plane actually going to take off? So many questions. Whatever it was… Gojo also said he wished that the airport scene was not a figment of his imagination. The strongest sorcerer. Praying? I mean... why shouldn’t he get his wish? 😪 I think Gege said that the airport scene was like a reward for those who died. There is a better word for it but I can’t remember what it was. Will edit this post when I can remember.

I mean, these are my personal views and I guess people will believe what they wish to believe and hold onto different pieces of what’s shown to justify their beliefs. I suppose I wonder what has begun to sway you if his comeback isn’t something you particularly want? Is it a hope that he can continue something that you feel has been left unfinished? Is it out of love for him?

Hmm… I guess I feel like the baton had been passed, and he’d done all that he could possibly do, as the strongest

…even to the point of letting his body be used once he could no longer use it.

I know it is disturbing on many ways. However, within the series itself, it was a necessary strategy from the perspective of those not knowing how things would transpire.

Everyone there experienced a desperation to survive - to find any potential way to defeat Sukuna without the umbrella of safety that was Gojo Satoru. And Gojo cooperated - he never bothered with collaborating with to others since he always fought alone. This was character development too. This was for the next generation too. He couldn’t fight all battles for them. Some things, they needed to do themselves. Just as how he and Geto, as teens, were assigned to a mission that nearly got them all killed. This was the screwed up jujutsu world.

Ultimately, Gojo did his best in the battle. He did his best before the battle. Killing the higher ups included.

We may not know what Kenjaku’s CT is, but only Yuta can body-hop now… Gojo’s body, without Yuta in it, will not have a functional brain. Remember: he was also brain damaged from the fight with Sukuna.

It isn’t possible to survive without a brain. We don’t know how they’re keeping Yuta’s body fresh and how fresh the body needs to be in order for Yuta to return to it. These are the strange questions we can only speculate since we also don’t know how Kenjaku managed to enter the body of Geto in the state he was in, and then regenerated his heart and arm. Gojo’s body was stitched up in preparation for Yuta, for example. Yes it is mysterious. But. As it stands, again, only Yuta can hop. Gojo... I’m sorry to say 😪😢 is lifeless.

I think some theorise that it’s about the soul. But honestly, I believe Geto’s body with Kenjaku in it did not have Geto’s soul in it. It’s not a “Megumi’s soul co-existing with Sukuna” situation. Nor was it “Yuji with Sukuna”. Geto’s body was imbued with his CT and his memories, just like a cursed tool would - e.g. Nanami’s weapon. So Kenjaku can pilot it and receive information from it as part of his CT. It’s like a humanoid mecha.

It reacted to Gojo’s voice like a “dragonfly without its head” - it was merely a physical reaction.

Just like how a human body will twitch and move even after the person has expired.

Like the tail of a lizard that twitches even if detached from its head. It is involuntary. A residual instinct.

Kenjaku’s perspective of how the body and soul is one directly contrasts with Mahito’s view. So I don’t think we should pick one interpretation as more correct than the other when they both agreed that it was dependent on Cursed Technique in the end.

So... I guess those are my views. I really like how you phrased it - as his soul escaped exploitation. I suppose I see this as being true, since we saw Gege describe Gojo in this kind of “afterlife” that he doesn’t try to explain. I mean, this is an afterlife specific to Gojo, so who knows where it is?

Gege is funny like that I think. Multiple characters have been shown to hold conflicting views, and even as the story creator, he doesn’t play God who knows all and sees all that is able to describe a definitive afterlife. It’s both poetic and frustrating at the same time imho.

Honestly, I also find it challenging to accept. A part of me wonders if he wanted it to be an actual delusion, but I’m reminded of how he talked about souls and reincarnation - so I know in the verse that souls exist and that what Nanami said about his death was something Gojo couldn’t have just imagined in his dying moments.

You know how Nick/Gatsby and Holmes/Watson and Enjolras/Grantaire are super popular gay classic lit ships? I’m genuinely surprised there’s not a slash-shipping community around Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay from a Tale of Two Cities…like. I get the reason Darnay/Carton isn’t popular is because no one cares about A Tale of Two Cities but their relationship is so bizarrely homoerotic for literally no reason! It’s like Built to be some Dark Academia tumblr ship! I think Carton/Darnay should be in the tumblr gay classic lit canon, repping Dickens and the way Dickens’ misogynistic inability to write convincing heterosexual relationships results in his characters seeming extremely gay.

I could write an entire essay on why A Tale of Two Cities makes more sense if you ignore Dickens’ intent and read Carton as gay (with quotes supporting my point) but like. Carton insists he’s in love with Darnay’s wife Lucie but spends much more of his page-time talking to/flirting with Darnay (to the point where he’s never had an on page conversation with Lucie until he “confesses his love” to her in a scene where he also immediately rejects himself for her, and insists that their relationship would be Impossible for Reasons and that his heart isn’t Capable of feeling things the way it should, as if he’s chosen to convince himself he’s in love with her because she’s unattainable and he will never have to be in a relationship with her.) Darnay and Carton have all these tense charged snarky interactions that feel like fanfic. Darnay’s thing with Lucie is pretty bland but there’s this huge emphasis on the fact that he and Carton are “counterparts.” Whenever Dickens tries to write Carton as being sad that Lucie loves another man it generally comes across as Carton being jealous of Lucie, because he’s almost never had a full conversation with Lucie and spends most of his time instead having these very sad clingy desperate pathetic conversations with the men who love her. Carton has a weird homoerotic thing going on with his jock law partner Stryver, who he sacrifices everything for and spends all his time with and lets invade his personal space/walk all over him for reasons he refuses to explain (all while Stryver repeatedly mocks Carton for being incapable of falling in love with women). Carton ultimately sacrifices his life for Darnay by forcibly taking off Darnay’s clothes and disguising himself as him….like?

One of their first interactions is Carton heroically saving Darnay’s life, then drunkenly calling himself Darnay’s “counterpart” and asking him on a date.

This feels like the banter you’d find in an Enjolras/Grantaire fanfic:

The main thing people remember about A Tale of Two Cities are the cool peasant women revolutionaries, who Dickens is trying to portray as villains but who are actually the best characters in the book. And if I’m going to be mean to my high school self (who was obsessed with ATOTC for some reason) I’d say that the central melodrama between Carton/Darnay/Lucie is a weakness of the novel because Carton’s arc has nothing to do with the political French Revolution stuff, so his sacrifice feels thematically disconnected from all the book’s attempts at political commentary. HOWEVER. I think it works better if it’s gay.Also the Vengeance and Madame Defarge are gay, but people aren’t ready for that conversation!

So yee!! people on tumblr love ships that are like “hot goody-two-shoes classic lit boy in a suit x hot snarky classic lit sadboi in a suit”, but so few ppl remember Carton and Darnay, who were repping that all the way back in the 1790s 😔😔😔😔😔

i stopped around s2 or 3 i think? but i remember being rly rly enamored -> then rly rly devastated by eddie. i shipped barry and cisco too, wasn’t too big on fandom back then so idk if that was a popular one, but it was my top barry ship at the time (ig i always had a thing for shipping barry with his bestie huh!). and caitlin and leonard were always so fun, i think i might’ve shipped barry with them too. i definitely also shipped him with eddie, sorry i was putting that man thru so much LMAO

my memory is honestly pretty foggy, i must’ve been a freshman when i got into that show, but i remember how fun it was to watch it with my sibling. we were having a major superhero “phase” at that time too, so lots of yja, cw supergirl, daredevil, x-men, etc. we were BUSY. but among those (barring yja), the flash stood out to me the most bc of how much speedsters resonated with me. i would fantasize abt having superspeed to the point i might’ve actually been convinced that i might get them some day 😔👊 the fact that barry was such a silly little guy definitely helped

fast forward 7-ish years later and i’m tuning into flashpoint paradox with fond memories distant enough to be nostalgic but not recent enough to reignite anything. and then i’m hit with a frame of barry waking up to the apocalypse and i knew it was so over for me.

i think the fact that i liked cw flash’s barry sm back then primed me to liking him now, but this version of barry, the barry that’s more comics-adjacent, felt so different that i hold them as 2 completely dif characters and phases in my memory. and i think for that reason, i probably won’t ever rewatch cw flash. i want to keep a good memory a good memory, and i can appreciate what the show had to offer as an adaptation, but i think they knew they were doing their own thing too

I saw that earlier. I'm disappointed, but not necessarily surprised either. The fact unfortunately remains that the sequels aren't that popular on Tumblr (I think from my understanding it's different on Twitter but I'm not touching that place with a ten foot pole), and.....Poe isn't that popular either.

Sure, everyone likes him, but I don't see people going out of their way to call him their favorite or include him in most things. He just doesn't seem to be that popular outside of fanon and ships, which is a huge bummer because Poe as a character is a lot of fun and really nuanced, and I'd love to see more creations and people celebrating that!

By contrast....Han is a mega popular character 40 years strong, and people like him for his character and outside of his relationships, and of course even if the polls themselves ask us to be objective about who is more talented, of course people are subjectively chose their favorite.

oh anon, i'm sorry to hear that 😔i can only say what has already been said, ignore and block them. i know that isn't helpful for after you've seen the lash back, but the sooner you're able to put such people from your thoughts, the better. it's also worth remembering that though there are some people who have such egregious views of us, the majority of people don't, imo anyway. i've found that people usually keep their boundaries and leave us be.

also, lets not forget that obikin is a popular ship. 10k people follow the tag on tumblr, and it is the second most popular ship in the prequel era according to ao3. i know thousands of people aren't coming to the ships defense, but i always find solace in the fact that there are incomparably more people who ship obikin or are indifferent to it than there are those who are outright antis.

I suppose I should start this off by saying, at the end of the day, interpretations that I disagree with don’t really bother me! Of course some of them are... interesting, but for the most part I don’t really care. Sometimes fanon stuff’s really good tho; Fanon Sniper, for instance, is a literal blessing.

Though… I still have a couple things that bother me, or at least confuse me. I guess my main thing is the fact that Dr. Stein x Medusa is such a popular ship lmao. Does that count as an interpretation or HC? I have no idea, but I’m putting it here anyways. That’s like, the only thing that genuinely bothers me a bit. There’s minor things that make me sad when I think about them though, like the fact Miss Pauling has such little content (outside of shipping) that I don’t even have any interpretations to disagree with. The OW Fandom seems to sometimes ignore/forget how smart Lúcio is too 😔. Oh, and the BNHA fandom really likes to portray Hawks as… inhumanly thirsty… which I CAN NOT see fitting him, but I find that more funny than anything so-

I've seen some pretty hot debate for whether Ortho should be considered ~8 years old or 16, and personally, I don't think he's either! He's his own experience unlike anyone else in the world. That said, at least after the events of book 6, his narrative of growth and maturation is really compelling! Everything about him in Fairy Gala IF was so fun. If I have to choose, then I do like to see him as 16 more, and I really do want to see him with the other first years!!

I always think of Ortho as being this really extroverted, popular kid, especially now that he's good friends with Vil and can be seen walking around with him a lot. Most people at NRC respect him (as much as an NRC student can) and think he's super cool and useful. He's so popular, and we're all so proud of him :") it just makes sense that he'd fit right into a big, weird friend group like the first years, and as for a polycule...

I kind of see it less as an agreed-upon situation they all decided on, and more like something that just added up over time until it was undeniable that something was going on between all of them lol like, deuce and epel are dating, deuce is also dating jack and flirting with ace, ace is dating sebek, sebek is flirting with jack and dating epel, and so on lol Ortho might be the only one to straight up say "hey, can I date all of you? It looks fun :)" and create such a storm of chaos omg

And now that I'm thinking about it, Ortho does still look a lot like a younger kid, so I'm sure most of them will have reservations about it (though Ortho can be super pushy when he wants to be. They'll end up going along with him pretty fast). Sebek is the only one I can think of who wouldn't be bothered at all by his looks. Fae, like Lilia and his mother, can look really young despite being centuries old, so it's not something he thinks about, especially since he has barely had any interaction with people his age anyway. He's way more concerned about the fact that Ortho is made of technology... But otherwise, I think he takes this very well. He respects Ortho and his abilities, and he has much to learn from him!! Omg, can you imagine Ortho playing teacher with Sebek... Putting on a sultry voice like "let me teach you about my core ;)" god lol

I think, in private with them, Ortho would be super flirtatious and touchy. For Deuce and Epel, they're going to be so sensitive to it, and he's going to have a lot of fun teasing them, especially if they point out how young he looks. I can just imagine Deuce being like "aren't you too young for this..." and Ortho's all cocky like oh :) am I?? And yet you're the one getting hard for someone like me?? :) poor Deuce isn't going to last a minute with him TT and Epel doesn't fair much better, he's all "this is weird!!" when Ortho starts getting really handsy with him, and Ortho's like "oh is it? Why's that?? Do you want to explain in detail why it is so weird? I just want to understand!!"

Jack would get straight up angry with him for teasing him, but it'll just get Ortho excited to tease him more until Jack hits a breaking point 😔 Jack holding him down and having his way with him, super frustrated and mad about it, like this isn't exactly what Ortho wanted him to do?? omg. He's going to be so upset with himself when the post-nut clarity hits...

For Ace, I'm not super sure. He has enough issues just holding hands with another man lol he represses his feelings so hard, so in private, he's probably not going to fall that much for Ortho's tricks. Only after Ortho leaves him alone will Ace continue thinking about it and wonder why he feels so weird... Give Ortho until the end of the semester, I think he can crack this one 😌

Bix is an alright character, i like that she's pretty scrappy herself and have actual connections as to why Ferrix being targeted by ISB instead treated as a damsel in distress but i feel nothing when it comes to her with Cassian. i'd rather they stayed friends. (preferences only but i wish they picked older-looking actress for Bix, just to match Cassian's appearance. that man is NOT in his twenties, as wet and as sad and as pretty as he looks)

A long time ago, at the inception of ships in bangtan, Yoon min, Tae Kook, Namjin were the most popular ship in the fandom. Jikook didn't exist cos they were boring as hell😐

Who wants to ship a shy guy who acts like the last thing he wants in the world is to breathe the same air as Jimin😐

That whole seemingly unrequited love dynamic just wasn't fun to watch especially as a Jimin stan who gave zero fucks about the Maknae with no onscreen personality whatsoever. All he had going for him was the fact he was mad talented at every damn thing and his age- being the youngest of the group. Stage presence was ZERO unless he was performing then damn he was a beast. Whew. Jei kei eii!

The only time Kook was fun to watch was when he was with Tae doing homoerotic fanservice as a minor which I found truly disturbing, when he was with anyone but Jimin. I preferred his relationship with Jin to Jimin. His ship with Suga and RM was far far better. I just didn't want to hear Jikook. Their ship got on my nerves. If I could bust Jimin out of BTS to stop him from interacting with Kook on camera I would have. I didn't want to see all that.

Whoever gave them those stage roles did them dirty.

Their interaction was cringe as fuck. Especially when contrasted with other ships. I liked Kook until he showed up around Jimin then my blood would start boiling😐

Not gonna lie, as someone who started off as a yoonminer myself I must say there was some substance to Yoonmin. The yoonmin of today is totally different from the Yoonmin I shipped in the day.

I liked Suga, I liked Jimin so shipping them together just made sense to me. Suga has evolved. He hasn't changed much though. And there was some similarities between his personality and Kook... I'll get into that later.

I liked Namjoon and Jimin too so I'd occasionally turn into a Namjin troll and troll them for shipping RM with anyone but Jimin. Sope was laughable. Bahahaha laughable. But these days they are the shit I'm told.

Suga was out here having crushes on JM, drooling, tensing up, confessing on the low- recently I saw him play with Jimin's joystick and Iet me tell you I uWud😔

Suga and RM have me in a chokehold when it comes to Jimin. Add Tae to that list and I'm wobbly legs. It's not just that they care about Jimin, there's also that emotional dependency and attachment going on that I'm soft for. I love their emotional honesty and vulnerability around Jimin.

It's like Jimin said when Jin took a confetti or whatever out his hair, it's annoying when people fake their affection for others in the name of fanservice.

RM genuinely loved Jimin, admired him both as an artist and friend. The fact he used to call him friend rather than dongseang said a lot about the respect and value he placed on their relationship.

Also, I saw a side to Jimin through his lens and that made me fall deeper in love with Jimin and appreciate RM more.

I learned nothing positive bout Jimin watching him interact with Kook in those early days. Jimin came off as pushy, clingy, desperate, seeking validation, simp, ass kisser, can't take no for an answer, has no self respect or pride, with no sense of boundaries. I hated seeing Jimin like that. As someone who thought he was the most mesmerizing person and intriguing person I had ever seen seeing him like that around Kook was hard to come to terms with. He kept making a fool of himself around Kook to the point it started affecting him viscerally and you could feel the resentment build up in him on screen sometimes.

especially when his smile drops cos he'd have given up momentarily cos he was tired of trying, chasing, initiating, kickstarting when is like but why do this to yourself?? Dude ain't shit can't you see??

their early onscreen dynamic didn't bring out the best in either of them. Yet if you looked beyond the onscreen dynamic the tale was different. Not many people were willing to look beyond the failed scripted roles they were given. Not many were willing to unpack their dynamic even to this day.

I still enjoy their friendship. Jimin used to look up to Suga and validate him as an artist. No one respects JMs voice and talent more than Suga hyung. Even during Be he was the one constantly pushing Jimin to take up roles and do more.

He sees potential in Jimin- except that one time he said JM should limit himself to children's acts. He was high for that shit.

He pushes Jimin to be the best he can be. I like that very much.

When he says he prefer JMs voice or that he likes JM but JM don't like him he means it.

I picture myself as Jimin with Suga or Suga with Jimin. Yoonmin are visually attractive as a pair. I enjoy their body aesthetics as men and how good they look together. Jimin likes taunting Suga and Suga enjoys it unlike Kook who came off as not finding JMs antics funny in the slightest.

Jimin says it's cos he sucked at expressing his emotions- I'll take his word for it.

Jungkook has come a long way.

Currently, he is one of the most visibly animated members of BTS, grateful for the personality that shines through, I could watch him do nothing for 5hrs on camera and I'd still enjoy that video.

I love him when he is with Jimin now because that's when his nurturing side jumps out the most. I love how playful and carefree he can be around Jimin.

I think they both struggle being vulnerable around eachother in front of the camera now. At least now JM knows how it feels he can cut Kook some slack.

I received a lot of backlash when I said JM stops JK from showing affection sometimes but really it's all he's been doing since late 2020 and we've seen it happen over and over.

Jk stans are growing too but majority of them are also Tuktukkers or become Tuktukkers.

But sis, us jokers are growing too. Even if we don't grow i will be here to ship them and their goofy asses through thick and thin. Will cuss them if they move funny with each other and simp over them if they hit it good. They can take it or leave it but I'm not going anywhere 🤓
