Tumblr keeps popping up to sell me ad free dashboard. But what it doesn't understand is that me and the ads have a sort of symbiosis at this point.

Christmas Adam is for making sticky buns
#christmas adam#christmas#now that all the kids are grown and mom and dad are retired we bring stuff to Christmas#traditionally we open presents and eat breakfast and drink mimosas#so it's my job to bring the sticky buns#it's a recipe from my grandma and uses frozen bread dough#usually i get fancy and make my own dough#but this holiday season has been ROUGH#lots of overtime at work etc etc#so frozen bread dough it is#they will be delicious anyway#be ause i make them with love#and lots of butter and brown sugar#you cant go wrong with brown sugar

unexpected experience from living in the converted garage of some rich people is that i have to watch soooo much food go bad in the shared fridge because they forgot (?) about it after putting it in there and there's not really anything i can do about it
#there's a whole bag of buns covered in mold in there#shredded cheese (not bad yet but there for weeks) yogurt (definitely expired) tortillas (>6 months)#the freezer side is FULL of mostly various meats and appetizer items and has been since i got here#like what am i supposed to do constantly be like Hey this thing which you put in the fridge do you know about it its expiring#or just eat it? would be rude without asking but i also can't imagine being like hey i noticed youre not eating hundreds of $ worth of food#LIKE. some of us are poor and watching bacteria unknown to science develop on perfectly good food. literally insane#also obviously this cuts down on the fridge space i have available to me and i like...eat things instead of watching them go bad so it's not#usually a problem but i do struggle to stuff my frozen items in the freezer sometimes. very squashed blueberries in there rn#whatever I Am Not Paying Rent Amen#me
