I'm going to be asking a lot of these because there's just too many interesting ones and I'm genuinely very curious
Very flattered that people are interested in my business ngl, this year has been such an ego boost, I forgot what writing for active bigger fandoms was like xp, thank uu for sending them <3
6. Favorite title you used
Oehhh, I wanna say I Didn't Mean to Say I Do, but I Do. I Do. bc it's very visceral, pleading to me, almost a confession whether in church or to someone, which I really like.
However, it is actually The Thing that Remains, which is about Robert Queen's body decomposing on that life raft (gotta love angst and the grotesque), bc that body is the only thing that is left of Robert Queen, who was such a big person, but also the remains of him are this thing that haunt Oliver while adrift. So, I really like that one :D
10. What work was the quickest to write?
Hm, I don't really know. If I try, the shorter AUAUs can be done in an evening or two, but I don't really time it. The only one I remember is Indulging for Tonight, since I really wanted to post it as soon after the episode, so I went on a writer sprint to finish it in the 24 hours after 8x06 aired
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
My top two are 'Emotional Hurt/Comfort' and 'Relationship Reveal' which aptly sum up this year for lmao
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
I already answered this one (but after this ask was send), so I won't repeat myself. There is also this scene I wrote that I think is very funny and love, but it's for an AUAU that is not posted yet, so I'm sitting on it for a little bit (like for two more weeks), it's Buck being a dumbass, enabled by Chris
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
Tbh, like I mentioned how that people are interested. It's not like people haven't been (with 377 stories it's kind of impossible to write nothing that interests someone). However, I rarely write for active fandoms and if I do they're usually small. Even when I wrote a bunch of Stranger Things, it was after the big season 4 peak had already passed. So, to upload a fic in the middle of a season airing for a big show has been an experience. I am super grateful for how it has been received and the fact that the I Do Verse is now my biggest fic is really cool, so thank you and everyone else who likes what I do, it's been a delight <3

having good & true friends will literally save and protect you in a million unfathomable ways. like okay we have written so many times about lovers. but the way a platonic friend laughs and cries with you. the way they hold your hand at 14 years old and at 34. the way they keep a little silver tie to you, touching base over and over and over. how you can go years without talking, only to re-meet and discover: oh shit! you're still cool!
there are people who have been in my life for more than half of it, and i have loved every version of them. do you know how fucking beautiful that is. yeah love will save the world. but the way friends love you is gonna save the you.

oops, still feral over pre-war Dead End Dratchet

(drift: you're rusting at every joint gasket: but isn't that doctor chummy with the cops? we're literal thieves??)
started with the headcanon that drift hung around the clinic like a feral wet cat for a while, then halfway through shading these, I started thinking, what if deadlock was an especially reliable assassin because he knew what kind of damage would make sure that even the best of the best couldn't bring you back

I sometimes just imagine the first time Phantom is introduced to the league as like, a fellow big league hero. As someone who works with Justice League Dark and took down the Ecto Acts with his own team and allies to be included under the meta acts like aliens. He knows Constantine and Zatanna and is a pretty common name in the magical community now even if usually as his human form "just Danny".
And suddenly he is surrounded by these "big time heroes" and aliens and champions and most would assume he'd be overwhelmed or in awe. Maybe nervous, or weirdly fixated on being in space.
But here's the kicker- Danny is dead. Technically part of the category ecto-entity, ghost, and thus belonging to the Infinite Realms. He has met a vast variety of characters who are far more chaotic and legendary than these people who have so much interpersonal drama it looks like one of the soap operas Tucker refuses to admit he watches. Wonder Woman? Danny has lunch with Pandora and visits the Greek sections of the realms when he needs to research old prophecies. Superman? Kryptonite is like rock candy and the dead of Krypton are either very sweet or very condescending and Danny has seen both in the Boy Scout. The less said about the Green Lanterns the better. The Flash family are entertaining but also headache inducing because Danny has heard the complaints about the timeline. Half a dozen other heroes and vigilantes have their own dramas that Danny could pick apart at the source for the many issues that started said drama, and that's not even beginning on the issues with Batman and the weird galley of children he has who are sometimes even worse than the dark knight himself.
Meanwhile the League find themselves growing more concerned and horrified the more Phantom manages to reference his adventures and rather stressful start as a vigilante. Constantine hasn't been more entertained in years.

While I’m still a bit bummed that they didn’t go with a more book-aligned POC Fiyero for the Wicked movie, I’ve been thinking (heheh) about how his being white highlights the really interesting foil relationship between him and Glinda (and, in many ways, the audience yourself).
At its core, Wicked is a cautionary tale about propaganda, (literal) scapegoating, and what it means to uphold the status quo. The audience is watching through Glinda’s eyes—it is through her, arguably the most beautifully tragic character of the show, that we learn how lonely life becomes when you forfeit your values in favor of systemic power and likability (“No One Mourns the Wicked” is, in many ways, about HER).
Now, this is where Fiyero’s whiteness can get interesting—if you consider him and Glinda to share roughly equal footing at the beginning in terms of privilege/how much they have to lose (applying our real-world lens of race and power here, where whiteness is the apex), his storyline essentially represents what could have happened if Glinda had made the brave (and arguably wise and loving, if you’re picking up what I’m putting down 👀) choice to go with Elphaba and fight the good fight (this is also why I feel like a queer reading of G&E’s relationship is almost implicit to the story, but I digress).
As the POC/marginalized allegory, Elphaba has much less of a real choice in her curtain-pulled-back turning point. But Fiyero and Glinda—both representing privilege—get to choose. So in Act II, we see the consequences of both the choice to stay (Glinda) and to go (Fiyero). In Fiyero’s case, his ultimate rejection of his own power, privilege, and even beauty leads to immense physical loss—including his own body—but that is then compared to the loss of love, community, and identity that we see Glinda left with by the end. And this brings us to the question that the audience is left grappling with: in an unjust system where loss is inevitable (a.k.a. our own world, as the Wizard himself represents), which of these things are YOU more willing to give up?
It’s important that Glinda is an empathetic character because, in reality, most people are going to be Glindas (obvi this is nuanced among us Elphabas of marginalized identities, but I’d still argue that there’s some level of Glinda in us all)—and it’s important to be rattled by the end of the show when you realize that she is the one who has the sad ending. But it’s also so important that Fiyero is empathetic (which I’m SO glad this movie leaned into)—because he’s ultimately who Glinda—and thus we, as the audience—should have been.
And especially given the state of US politics right now…this is just all more relevant than ever.

The Taxidermist (or the Mousemeister, as it would call itself). A patchwork creature that uses its golden sheers to snip the person away and leave only a verminous beast, in the hopes of finding new and interesting body parts to replace its old decaying form. The useless animals are doomed line its quilted burrows as handmade furniture and the ever-present smell of mouse soup.
