hello hello! I really like your writing and was wondering if you think you could do metal sonic (or sonic if metal is too tough to write for this) and shadow with a reader that is really fidgety, impulsive, and is susceptible to sensory overload because of their ADHD? Notes: I also have ADHD myself but not the attentive type! It's sad because tiktokers make it look like ADHD is only the attentive type and therefore make people diagnose themselves or even get misdiagnosed by some doctors :(( some psychiatrists have speculated that my ADHD comes from another mental disorder I have but I'll wait for the diagnosis before making any assumptions. I tried using my ADHD to write a bit so I don't falsely assume attentive ADHD lol I hope u don't mind I've also been wondering if I should do all three or just the two but I went with two </3 btw now thinking of it sry for all the web users cuz my gifs probably look too small also these are a bit short

Metal sonic

Metal sonic isn't programmed with any therapeutic quirks, but that doesn't mean he won't try and be helpful. We've seen from some comics and games that metal helps and is (somewhat) nice to anyone who's a part of egggmans side, spoiler you're also on his side probably

His sharp wit makes it easy for him to notice your fidgeting and impulsive behavior. His knowledge about mental health is limited, but that doesn't mean he won't try and help you. Your leg is bouncing? He'll hold it down. Ripping the white part of your nails off? He's squeezing your hand until you give up. Metal sonic isn't a bad listener, I mean, he can't really talk ?? Anywho he'll still watch as you ramble on about something you've done today or wait for you when forgetting a word

He doesn't really understand if you find it annoying when he waves his hand in front of you when you're day dreaming (idrk like that ngl) if you don't, he'll always use that hand wave to get you to concentrate or come back to your senses

If you two are out somewhere and fighting, he makes sure that you don't have too many enemies or aren't overwhelmed from everything going on, I know for a fact he has some kinda sensors to detect if you're uncomfortable or about to crumble from everything being too much I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL FIGHT ME ABT IT

He doesn't know how to deal with sensory overloads but he knows how to prevent it; giving you noise cancelling headphones, helping you with tasks so it doesn't become too much etc.

He may not exactly know how your ADHD works or what it is but he tries his best to help

Shadow

Shadow knows what it means to be mentally ill, he just doesn't know how to properly care for it. Assuming you two are already extremely close or dating, his attempts will go above and beyond to try and help you

He doesn't want to lose another one or be a abandoned, his past trauma makes it easy for him to have these paranoid thoughts where he thinks you'll leave him because he doesn't know how to properly care for someone with neurological disorders like yours

He tries to research and consults psychiatrists to find ways to help you and lessen your daily burden; making sure you don't get involved in fights (if u do fight), always triple checking the news to see if there will be parades/smth loud before you go out and more. It gets to a point, a point that makes him seem over protective

Trying to find medication, exercises, headphones and much more to even get a silver of hope that he's going to be enough. It'll take a bit of reassurance and help to get Shadow to stop this mindset

That's when he truly locks in to make sure you're well taken care of. Now that he knows you won't leave him, he stops treating you as if your cracked glass, he let's you handle yourself at times!! That doesn't mean he completely stops taking care of you, he still takes care of you when the time calls for it, but now he truly knows what the difference is between "helping" and "overbearing"

Spencer steals glances at you every morning while you make your coffee and chat with Emily. It's so apparent to everyone what he's doing that JJ and Morgan have taken to stealing things off his desk, seeing how much they can take before he notices.

One day, when you're walking back to your desk you make a comment that has his interest piqued even more. "No, I don't have a boyfriend at the moment. I'm enjoying being single."

Spencer's heart sinks at your words, his mind instantly conjuring images of your dates. Dates that should mean he's your boyfriend, right? So why are you telling everyone you're single?

His head is spinning with confusion, and it's turning to anger pretty quickly. Are you ashamed to be with him? Surely if you're enjoying being single, that means you're dating other people or that you're not even interested in him.

He can't believe it, his emotions swinging from anger to sadness. It's unbelievable and you're breaking his heart.

Before you're even sitting down, Spencer's getting up and rushing to the bathroom to calm his racing heart rate before he has to be sick.

Your conversation doesn't even remain in your mind while you continue your day. What feels odd is Spencer freezing you out. Usually, on boring paperwork days, Spencer will tell you fun facts or dumb science jokes just to break up the repetitive work and horrific nature of your files.

He doesn't. Not a single comment comes your way, not even when you ask very open-ended science questions, basically inviting him to ramble about his favorite topics. None of it entices him.

His sarcastic remarks come just after lunchtime with a snappy attitude that irritates you. You're worried about him, firstly. Something must be wrong in his personal life to have him like this, but you can't help feeling a little angry that it's all being directed at you.

You were just starting to really like him and now he's turned around and shown you who he really is just because you're arguably who he's closest with. He's quickly becoming not the type of person you want to be with.

When you're the last two people in the bullpen, you realize you can't let him stay there all night. No matter how annoying he is, you're his friend, first and foremost, and he's clearly going through something.

So you approach him. "Hey, do you want to get dinner?" You ask.

"Not with you," Spencer replies coldly and totally uncharacteristically.

That's your breaking point. "What's wrong? Seriously, you've been horrible to me all day and I can't think of anything I've done to offend you."

Spencer sighs and it's weirdly more regretful than angry. "I... do you remember what you said this morning?"

You frown, unsure of what exactly he's referencing. "No?" Then you quickly add, "But I want to make things right."

"You said you didn't have a boyfriend." He feels pathetic saying it. The idea that someone like you would never be interested had been slipping from his mind, but now that concern is at the front of his mind.

You're only more confused then. "I don't."

"I thought I..." His cheeks flame up with embarrassment and he puts on a front of nonchalance. "I thought I was your boyfriend, okay? That's it."

Oh.

You wish you could have given Emily a different answer that morning. You would have proudly told her that Spencer Reid is your boyfriend, but you couldn't.

"You never asked me." You say softly, shuffling awkwardly on your feet.

"Did I need to?" He wonders dumbly, and it's very obvious that he's just unaware.

You shrug, explaining your point of view. "I thought we were still at the talking stage."

"The what?" Spencer asks.

"Like when you're just talking and casually dating, trying to work out if you're friends or if there's a romantic connection." You describe.

He nods softly before his heart sinks again. "I'm sorry, I'm an idiot." You're easily the best thing that's been in his life for a long time, and now he's totally ruined it. If you didn't think he was too inexperienced before, you do now.

"You're not, not provably." You break the awkward silence and tension that's fallen over the room, making him chuckle a little. "And I like you, exclusively."

Spencer's frown is adorable but it's concerning large this time. "Really? Still?"

"Mm-hmm." You assure him. "As long as you promise to talk to me when something's wrong instead of icing me out."

He stands up quickly, nodding. "I swear and I'm really sorry." He promises you. "So would you like to go to dinner? As boyfriend and girlfriend?"

You try to suppress an inappropriately large grin. "I would."

Spencer doesn't hide his smile and he's awkwardly tripping over his bag and feet to meet you around his side of the desk. "Let's do it." He smiles softly at you, offering out his hand for you to hold.

You take it happily, walking to the elevator with him. "Let's do it, boyfriend."

okay so i was talking to my sister abt this but i'm kind of heated over it now and must share it with the 10 of u that i keep in my echo chamber

i love evil 2012 donnie aus. he's such a creechur and i think he should be able to commit crimes. as a treat.

however.

i HATE evil donnie aus where he's emotionless and/or turns on his brothers.

donnie is emotionally driven and he doesn't hide what he's feeling. excitement, anger, sadness; if he's feeling it you'll know he's feeling it. a lot of his mistakes/the trouble he gets into is because he's having an emotional outburst of some kind or he's thinking with his heart over his head. he's also incredibly anxious and high strung. if something goes wrong it could ruin his whole day. if donnie were to be evil and not hold back anymore, he'd be the most unhinged villain ever with emotions that switch faster than a spirit box surfing through radio channels, and they'd be intense as well. this could be said for rise donnie as well, to be honest, and there's a conversation to be had there about autistic characters who are awkward and standoffish getting turned into emotionless and stoic villains, but that's not what i'm here to talk about atm.

when it comes to why he would snap, i think it would probably have to do with feeling rejected by humanity. donnie didn't ask to be the way that he is, a mutant turtle, but he's punished for it anyway. it's probably hard for him to rationalize. a big part of his character is his insecurity about being a mutant, which is also part of the reason i think he tries so hard to get april's affections. i DO NOT condone his behavior towards april, but it does kind of prove my point here. april rejecting him, to him, confirms that he'll never be accepted by humans. again, not april's fault at all and obviously she doesn't care that donnie is a mutant, she just doesn't like him that way. but like i said, donnie is emotionally driven and it would be very easy to spiral into that line of thinking. some people say that his brothers not appreciating him or asking too much of him would make him snap, hence why they have evil donnie turn against his bros. but i don't think thag would make him evil? to donnie, his brothers are all he has. they annoy him and pick on him and get a little too entitled to his tech skills, but i doubt he'd ever be motivated to hurt them. and if, IF, by some small chance he'd turn on his bros, leo is going first LMAO

raph teases donnie a lot and says mean things sometimes, but at the end of the day, i feel like he's still closer to raph than leo. not only that, but leo is one of the main contributors to donnie's stress. there's a problem? donnie, fix it. make some invention for the team. work harder. don't you know we're all counting on you? you know how much this means to splinter. don't even get me started on the metalhead situation. leo is on screen more often than not telling donnie what he can and can't do. not to mention he can be kind of a hypocrite sometimes. he judges donnie for his obsession with april, but he's just as obsessed with karai, more often than not putting his brothers in danger for her time and time again. i hate leorai with a passion but i cannot deny that it gets brought up in the show frequently. even if you ignore the romantic implications, i would still argue that leo is a hypocrite in this situation. also, through subtext, we can kind of infer that donnie and raph are closer than donnie and leo. i also feel like raph gets got first in these aus because there's an inherent bias against his character within the fandom, but i have a video essay in the works for that.

but again, if anyone were to be the victim of villain donnie's wrath, it'd be humanity. ESPECIALLY after the don vizioso thing (which is ANOTHER thing leo is hypocritical about??? "meh meh meh donnie killing ppl is bad ur stooping to their level meh meh meh" *literally TWO OR THREE EPISODES PRIOR decapitates shredder and carves his skull from his helmet* ?????!?!?!??!!?) he'd grow frustrated with how he can't do normal things. he's punished for something he has no control over. he feels alienated. why not give them the monster people think he is?

Way 1: Sirius joins the order he is imm determined to make it ahead bc in the order there's a sort of hierarchy where new members don't go on "serious" missions and that makes sirius even more mad bc the ministry already rejected his auror job application bc of his last name and he can't fathom not being the best at everything and so he finds the highest ranking person and its kingsley (and madeye and kinerva, minervas too old alastors insane (kinda hot but suirisu alr has enough inquiries into his own mental health soooo)) kingsely wins!!!! And he so he begins flirting approaching w kingsley and also I feel like even if he didn't wanna go ahead kingsely has an aura that makes him soo approachable which is why he's in charge of training the new members and he treats all the members kindly but Sirius thinks it's just him so when he finds out kingsley treats every1 like that he's MAD and also kingsley is the polar opposite of siriuss dad so that's also a factor. I feel like the relationship itself would be healthy(ish??) Bc while kingsley does love Sirius and recognize Sirius is pretty he isn't OBSESSED (yet 😼) and so that sort of grounds sirius bc kingsley doenst do let him whatever the fuck he wants and engage in self destructiveactivities (which is kinda annoying but its like daddy core?? Canyouseethevision) and kingsley while he isn't a virgin, isn't rlly secually experienced so sirius defo gets a power trip by the knowledge that one of the most influential order members is whining and writhing under (or above) him. Way 2: Sirius doesn't really like Kingsley BUT remus has a crush on kingsley and that makes sirius mad bc even tho he doenst like or even want to date remus. remus isn't allowed to have a crush on anyone but HIM (but obviously sirius deosnt reciprocate i mean remus is such a loser with his stupid overbite and stupid freckles and stupid goldy brown curly hair and stupid smile and stupid moral compass and and) so anyways remus having a crush on kingsley is a big no no so sirius decides a good solution would be to stea date kingsley !! And just like in the last version, Sirius flirts to the max w kingsley who doesn't notice bc he's busy and he's never rlly had much experience in the romance department (he isnt a loser like remus but he spent most of his hogwarts yrs working towards his future unware 98% of the hogwarts population had a crush on him) so he just thinks Sirius is being friendly and this makes sirius mad bc he isnt supp to chase after ppl theyre supp to come to HIM but eventually Sirius bags him !! Hi there! I have a question. What do u think abt Keishuk and his relationship with Suwon? Why do some ppl dislike him sm even though he just did his duty and kept loyal to Yuhon who saved and raised him? There are many chars who have the same thought and vibe as him in other stories, but they're respected.

Hi Anon! Thank you for the ask.

Keishuk and Suwon's relationship is one of my favorite in akayona and I could talk about them for hours. What is engaging to me about them is how strange and unique their whole relationship is. Like you know, in other stories I feel like they could easily be more emotionally open with each other and in general closer, but Suwon and Keishuk are just...not. They were both raised by and admired Yuhon and I feel like in another world, in other circumstances they could have been more like brothers, but they're stuck to being doomed coworkers instead. Like I really wish for some development in their relationship eventually (with Suwon and Judo too...) but at the same time, the reason they keep working together is because they trust each other to not be swayed by their feelings and only do what is the best for Kouka, even if it means using themselves as pawns, so. Yeah.

They do feel some kind of way about each other though, a secret thing... and that's what is so endearing to me. One of Suwon's main trait is that he likes everyone, but when it comes to Keishuk (see: the fanbook) he's like "eerrmm...I don't really..." and it's sad but it's so special and unique coming from Suwon it's actually very lovely to me. Keishuk annoys Suwon at times, and he's always on his back and Suwon is not particularly interested in him because Keishuk only and strickly live for his job and is the way he is, yet they sticked together for 10 years and planned the coup together and are still working together. Just like you can say that Hak knows Suwon like no one else, I think it's true of Keishuk as well. Keishuk knows and understands a Suwon not even Hak can grasp and accept. And it's that bond that I love.

Keishuk's feelings for Suwon are also interesting to think about because he is definitely fond of him in some way, but Keishuk's priority is Kouka's prosperity so whenever something happens to Suwon, there is an ambiguity in whether Keishuk reacts strongly because it's Suwon, or because it puts Kouka at a disavantadge(and Suwon obviously assumes it's just the latter). I think the ambiguity is fine as it is and it doesn't need a clear cut answer, as I'm not even sure it is clear cut for Keishuk anyway. But I wonder where things will lead them in the future... Keishuk is said to be emotionless and cold with everyone "but he often scolds Suwon" and to be "strongly attached to Suwon" (both elements are from the fanbook too) so it is undeniable that he's important to him, whether he acts on it or not. They won't comfort each other, sure, but they're partners in crime and I love that for them.

I think it's true for Suwon and all the generals and not just him and Keishuk but they definitely mirrors the ddhhb found family. Likeee they could be more, but they're not, because with Suwon, Keishuk and the generals it's all about keeping a distance and staying professional. It shows that there is some bond formed in that too, despite the pressure, expectations, betrayals and divides and idk actually it's not deep I just love them your honor they're everything to me and I would read a spin off dedicated to them!!!

Well all that was only for the first part of your ask (how do you expect me to stay brief about them...I can't, I just can't...) so now for the second part.

As you can see I don't share the vision of the people who dislike him lol. Even though, yeah, it's true that fandoms of other stories can sympathize more with characters like them and it's interesting to try to understand why, in the end it won't change the way it is and I prefer to just engage with them the way I love than to lose any more hair on it. I'd say though, I think I can understand at least for Keishuk, because, well, he's not made to be sympathetic you know? He is, to me, and to you too Anon, and there are elements in the story that give him depth and make him sympathetic in some ways, but most of the time Keishuk is here to annoy people with topics people don't like and that's his role and he carries it willingly. Keishuk carries the bad role for everyone, even for Suwon (that's why it's not this rare to see fans of Suwon who hates Keishuk. It's strange to me but whatever.), he's the man in the shadows taking all the controversial decisions etc etc...That's what I love about him too. But I guess when you're strongly attached to Yona or Hak, the way he tried to kill them and hurt the dragons, now uses them and in general was often rude and cold to them is unlikable. I love when the ddhhb is defied like that personally so I can't relate, but yeah. The story sometimes framing him as stupid and in the wrong for some of his behaviors with them (especially in the castle arc) can explain it too. Like I think the story itself very much encouraged siding more with Yona than him so it's not that surprising that readers follow it. And since Yuhon was also made to show how wrong and monstruous his actions were, it doesn't help Keishuk's case. We're the crazy ones Anon ahah, but I don't think we're wrong either.

If you ask me I think the fandom has in general a big problem with any character that defies Yona (or the ddhhb in general), hurts or just doesn't particularly like her. Like yeah people seem especially harsh, and defensive of the ddhhb. Maybe because the story is so focused on Yona (I don't say this as a judgement) ? Who knows. But that's why it's interesting to watch people's reactions to Zeno right now ahah. I've always liked this about Magi's magic sytstem. Idk, it's so simple in theory, it's all about ordering the Rukh, but at the same time it just feels really cool.

Also, headcanon time. Cuz we see magicians sometimes draw magic circles and shit, and I don't recall it being explained in more detail. My idea is that it's to write out orders somewhere. Most magic is just based on orders in the magician's head, but certain spells can be extremely complex and delicate. So, for example, a very specialised healing spell would require somebody to write the orders down, because one mistake could fuck somebody up.

Half a page later, and I'm like, oooh, right. I like it, because it's scientific.

In general I'm always a lil iffy at the divide between magic and science in fiction, like, bro, magic is science. It's just a different branch of science.

Every time I reread it, I can see why people like this ship, even if I could never myself. Early on, their friendship was really fun. It had this effortlessness to it, just like this moment, with Sinbad looking at Morgiana and seeing a girl, so a girl should wear pretty stuff like necklaces or bracelets, versus Alibaba who sees Morgiana as Morgiana, and he understands that she's strong and a warrior, so he find something that makes her look cool and powerful. And he does it like it's no-brainer. Yeah, obviously I'm gonna get Morgiana awesome golden claws!

That's also why it's so infuriating when Ohatka shifts them (rather forcibly on Alibaba's side) into romance, and suddenly it's like he stops seeing Morgiana, and starts seeing his imaginary girlfriend with Morgiana's face. Alibaba and Morgiana had a fine relationship that could have been easily transformed into romance, and, frankly, I grew to love their friendship upon my rereads [I genuinely recommend to reread the manga after the Final Arc, because FA bastardizes so many characters that at times it feels like a slap in the face], but the moment that switch happens, it's like they're two different people. It doesn't help that we've been going through the slow and steady process of depriving Morgiana of any plot-relevance, which culminates with that friendship->romance jump. Alibaba used to be a person who got Morgiana, why doesn't he anymore?

Anyway. Enough of that.

OMG!!! She loves him too!!! I know we could see this in the previous ep, but in this one I think it was more clear that she's obviously feeling smth for Bora. She had to come up with her cat's death memory to control herself in front of him! I mean, our girl is REALLY caught up!

Poor Bora beycim! You guys don't imagine how sad I got at the end of the ep. He was so ready to confess his feelings. I even thought they were gonna kiss (although that was really not the right moment). So are we gonna have a LOT of pining next ep? ... maybe. So anxious for it!!

It was so great that Bora believed in Ada! I thought they would just make the ep end with Bora still thinking the baht oyunu text was Tuğçe's and Ada was lying. But then they really surprised me when he remembered her text from that bathroom scene in the 1st ep. I loved it! Bora is always surprising me positively. And now I just want Ada to convince him that it's him that she wants and not that trash bag. Will she tell the truth? I hope so, although I think it's too soon for this big plot point to be dissolved. I also think Bora knows cause he sees what happens around him, and he isn't jealous of Trash for no reason.

VISUALIVE “Persona 4.” A stage adaptation of SMT: Persona 4 by Atlus. It adapts the first part of the story, from the hero’s arrival to after recovering Mitsuo Kubo from the TV world. It also ends on a cliff hanger, showing a teaser of Shadow Naoto being projected on the screen.

It takes up a speedy recapitulation of the hero’s spring life, before slowing down and showing in depth his school life in summer. A day before Morooka-sensei’s death, there is a little skit with Kou, Daisuke and Adachi. The hero walks into the conversation before the two other boys leaving, and Morooka-sensei walking in on the student and detective. The next day follow’s the teacher’s death and the Investigation Team (IT) begin investigating their new lead.

From the words “visual” and “alive,” the niche of this stage was meant to be the fusion of live acting and visual digital projections. All seen from the stageplay with the colorful cast of actors and CG animations being projected on the screen. This offers an opportunity for characters to summon their personas, perform cool visual effects, change the backdrop, or even confront their own Shadows.

Performed in Sunshine Theater from the 15th to the 20th of March 2012. The screenplay was written and directed by Shintaro Asanuma from the theatrical group “bpm.” The video production produced by Shutaro Oku, a film director and visual planner. He later takes over as director for VISUALIVE THE EVOLUTION, the sequel stage. The stage music was produced by Shunsuke Wada, with a special show exclusive vocal track sung by Shihoko Hirata.

On this note, I haven’t seen any sort of original soundtrack released for any of the stages and I’m SO SAD. The last song in Mitsuo’s boss fight was such a BANGER and literally EVERYTHING ELSE Marvelous, Wadasan please take my MONEY

Regarding the cast, there were some special accommodations for Teddie, Rise, and Nanako, all of which did not have live actors at the time. During the casting, actors for the three characters could not be found or simply left the directors unsatisfied they couldn’t cast anybody. An exception for Rise, who was able to have a live actor in the sequel stage. It has been stated that there weren’t any “pretty boy” actors that fit the “Teddie Criteria.” While there weren’t any child actors that were believed to portray Nanako well.

Teddie was only ever seen in his bear costume while Rise was busy talking through a call, all voiced by their video game cast. Nanako has never appeared on stage, only being scarcely mentioned in the script. Again, this is different in the sequel stage where her role was extremely important and was shown as a screen projection.

VISUALIVE “Persona 4” THE EVOLUTION. A sequel stage. Beginning abruptly in the middle of Shadow Naoto’s boss fight, the story continues from there until the “true end” of the game’s original story. *Certain characters are introduced while others have been reintroduced. And on a personal note, when it’s all comedic in the beginning, it’s all for what’s coming right after.

My thoughts on the stage adaptations. For the first Visualive (VL) I believe it’s pretty close to canon! I enjoy the characterization and how much love and care was present when handling the entire production.

Actors were busy playing the game itself, wherein a PS2 was present in the practice room. Along with magazines and game guides explaining the game’s story and the characters itself. Actors performing together and even improv acting together to get a grasp of their characters. All of them knowing well of Persona 4 as a well loved game, delicately handling their characters and hopefully performing them right while making the audience happy.

The staff taking care of each other while the director and video producer, Asanuma-san and Oku-san, working together well to make their vision into a reality.

The same thing happened with VL the Evolution (VLE) and literally every other good stage. Except... I feel the script kinda got out of hand with too much liberty where it feels a bit more disconnected from canon. But! It makes up for it in its content, whether comedic or (INCREDIBLY) dramatic! It’s great as its own story at that point. So in this case, I like to take the first VL and get to connect it canon, while I don’t know what the hell happened in VLE to the point I’ll just enjoy it as its own content.

These opinions deserve its own essay, post whatever bc I have SO much to say abt this. ANYWAY. VL ADACHI

Tohru Adachi is portrayed by Masami Itou (伊藤マサミ), a screenplay writer, director and an stage actor himself. He does have a single character voice role along with a fellow troupe member in the same franchise, but mostly works as the former three. He is part of Asanuma-san’s entertainment group “bpm.” On a similar note, Masashi Taniguchi, Dojima’s actor, was also part of their group from 2011 to 2016, which may explain their good synergy as the boss and the bumbling fool dynamic. I mean, somebody’s gotta get hit in the head every few skits.

With Masami-san being an important part of the cast, he doesn’t appear as often as Taniguchi-san in backstage content like the VL bonus disk or the official blog. Mentioned in his own personal blog, he had been busy with his roles as assistant director (I am assuming also for VL).

Also fun to note, because his role is mainly comic relief, he has been using his liberty to change up the material almost everyday making each performance exciting. This also leaves some other actors jealous of his freedom in his role, such as Saotome-san, Daisuke’s actor.

VL Adachi really has a... how do I say this? an adorable speech pattern (THE SAME SPEECH PATTERN THAT DROVE ME MAD TRYING TO DECIPHER I THOUGHT YOU WERE A CITY BOY OSSU OSSU MY ASS /shakes you violently/). Overall, he really fits the loose lipped bumbling fool, and his accent really makes him seem more casual and invested. What I’m saying is... VL Adachi either actually has genuine empathy or he actually has more energy to fake it (compared to some other edgelord. i mean you saw my p4ga analysis. I’m sick of him lol ahaha).

One of my favorite ways to explain this (OTHER THAN CHAIR CAR ADVENTURE MY BELOVED WE’LL GET TO THAT LATER) is the rice field scene with him and Dojima. It’s overanalyzation time 🎉

While investigating, Adachi whines about being tired while Dojima smacks him in the head. In this case, it’s established that Adachi doesn’t want to be there, yes? It’s the country, it’s hot and it smells like green.

"Ah... Dojima-san..! Why don't we take a break? (...) There really is nothing out here... Is the criminal still even here at all? (...) I wonder if I've passed being a rookie yet. Haha, but this city doesn't even have convenient transportation. I can't go to leisure lands (recreation, amusement parks, arcades, ect.) and head home at all."

Adachi then tries to tell Dojima a story. “when I got to this city after being newly assigned, I met an interesting guy (...) Yeah, I remember that the cherry blossoms haven't bloomed yet. So, I was driving my car and got near the station and--” Dojima gets a phone call.

Adachi politely puts his hands down waiting for his boss to finish so he can finish the story. Again and again, Adachi attempts to talk to Dojima about a story he’s so persistent trying to tell someone about. It was so 面白い that he would find someone to talk to about it. Even being polite and patient enough to wait for a chance to speak. He even gets fed up with it and blows up in front of his boss, clearly irritated he’s not given a chance to talk.

Sure, it could be Adachi feeling fed up like a normal person where someone agreed he to listen to him, before being constantly ignored. Or Adachi trying to be a more annoying whiny brat, depending on where you look at it.

If the story wasn’t too “interesting” to Adachi, he would’ve just brushed it off and stopped talking to Dojima entirely, or start up new small talk, or even complain some more. But no, he had a story he wanted to voice out so bad that he got irritated that the one person in the vicinity couldn’t listen to him.

Only after Dojima told him to continue their investigation elsewhere did Adachi finally stop and focus on something else. Maybe that story was for another day, or maybe it was never meant to be told.

What if it was just original (game) Adachi? He’d find a way to squirrel out of the investigation as usual, or push Dojima to “investigate” elsewhere. “Hey boss, don’t you think it’s hot? Why don’t we go elsewhere? We’ve seen this place too many times to count and I doubt anything new’ll turn up. How about we take a break at Junes, y’know? Where it’s cool? C’mon boss,” something like that.

og Adachi is just really annoying and silly to me. Some grown man thinking he can freeload because he never gets anything out of putting in more energy and effort? I don’t care how tall he is, I will smack him in the head.

Yeah VL Adachi whines, too, but at least it doesn’t look like he’s going to escape and waste his time somewhere else. He just sucks it up stops trying to leave the situation.

Or maybe I’m getting this all wrong and VL is exactly the same and my rage just gets dampened because of Masamisan’s execution of character hmm...

SO. What was his story about anyway? The one he really wanted to share to Dojima?

First day in town? Spring? Actually mentioned driving a car when literally out of every single persona 4 media at the time was there not a SINGLE mention of Adachi having a car OTHER THAN the same stageplay it’s being mentioned in?

A story, from somewhere around uhh four? five months ago? was something that he remembered so dearly and was willing to share despite it obviously embarrassing him even if he puts the blame on a certain somebody in the same story?

Or maybe it’s because he really had nothing to talk about ever since he realized all his stories from the city weren’t actually that funny or interesting in the first place.

BUT then that would mean out of all the things he could talk about—more whining, complaining, complimenting, small talk—he insisted about talking about this story in particular.

Okay, look. I’m just. Just. As someone who talks too much, of course I have things I actually want people to hear out of all the bullshit that comes out of my mouth. And if the thing I actually want people to listen to doesn’t even get heard, I’d go mad.

Sure, Adachi’d be fine when his complaints or intentionally unfunny jokes get brushed off. But a story of a guy that he thought was so funny, interesting, 面白い gets ignored, he really blew up, even just for a split second, maybe.

And ALL the things that happened in that story—on his first day in Inaba! His car got dented, he had to deal with a weirdo dumbass employee that knew zero personal space, yelled in his ear, who didn’t know how to do their job, got his station reputation messed up on the first day, got his ass grabbed, got (unintentionally?) mocked for his lame stories, and got his car dented for the SECOND time. Probably MORE

This little tidbit of VL Adachi kinda makes me go insane sometimes—his entire characterization in VL in particular. It was really refreshing to see and how they included both of his characters in it, his facade and how irritated he is of a lot of things underneath. And how flexible his character is immediately working with other characters when there’s sudden improv to balance the situation. Like him and Dojima, Morooka, the attendant, or even Yuuya (hero) himself.

I’ll take Taniguchi-san’s messing around in the VL bonus backstage disc in place of Masami-san being so busy he couldn’t appear in it as often as other characters.

For stagetime that lasted for fifteen minutes or less, my appreciation for VL Adachi, even if he was just comic relief, really rocketed. I say VL, bc Adachi the edgelord he’s supposed to be in literally every other media is something I analyze separately.

Like I said, I don’t really regard VLE close to canon but as something to be appreciated for what it is by itself. But the way Adachi was characterized there, in or out of character, still struck me.

Yes, there was his strange fan-agreed-canon which is,,, now canon obsession with cabbages (not that that’s a bad thing lmao). There was also him being a lot more jumpy and intimate in a clowny way, patting people on the shoulder or even downright hugging them just to mess around. Even FORGETTING who the same goddam loser who grabbed his ass almost a year ago is. But like, can’t blame him they literally changed their actor (and screenplay writer) AHAHAHA

ha... no more comedy, only dorky sword fights now

(speaking of sword fights I think it’s a fun thought how Mamiya-san [Izanami, also one of the youngest in the cast] admitted it was his first time doing sword fight choreography and even thanked Masami-san and other staff members for guiding him)

One thing unintentionally in character was Adachi accidentally nabbing the sushi overdosed in wasabi. Masami-san didn’t actually account for a joke sushi and didn’t immediately eat it—until Taniguchi-san (who also made Dojima go off his shits compared to VL) jokingly yelled at him and even riled up the audience for him to eat it. He even went off stage to get water just for him to eat the goddam sushi.

And Masami-san did! (kinda choked, but he’s fine).

Continuing from the same scene, while being overly giddy about sushi dinner (and I mean overly--he was singing about it while hopping to the Dojima residence), he tried to remind the two, Dojima and Hayato (hero), that Nanako was sleeping. Probably where she was sick if the scene was translated from the game.

And... the dramatic parts of VLE

Adachi was the one who reported to the IT that Dojima was chasing Namatame in the rain. While Naoto was discussing Namatame’s journal entries, Adachi, as giddy as he is, took it from Naoto’s hands and reveled in the discovery of evidence so childishly(?). He even ran to Dojima when he began regaining consciousness and immediately called the nurses to help him wheel Dojima to the ER.

Then, The Hospital Scene™️, right after Nanako flatlines.

Adachi, who recently walked into the scene, immediately worries about Dojima and IT who were ALL crying. He looks down, devastated—before yelling how Dojima’s heading to Namatame’s room.

He yells in terror and the same grief at his injured boss, all while running past and even jumping over children, who fell to the ground sobbing, to get to him. He continues yelling in a pained fashion while immediately reprimanding Dojima to stop. He gets carried by the collar before being tossed to the ground at Hayato’s feet, all while being pat by the same boy.

Dojima makes his speech about how unfair it is for the ‘killer’ to be alive when his daughter isn’t. When he finally falls to his knees, Adachi rises from the ground, humbly saying he’ll do his best to take care of Dojima (or something like that I’m in tears I literally can’t do VLE’s hospital scene i h8 this). He finally starts crying along with everyone else, being pushed away again but still tries again, trying to usher his boss away from the door.

With the help of the guard in front of the door, they all disappear off stage

please... I know this scene doesn’t need that much translation because of how important this scene is in the entire story. and I know my narratives aren’t enough so just,,,, just watch it please it’s so much more than this. everyone’s acting was just spectacular

So, after the IT (YOSUKE. JUST YOSUKE. good job Mae-chan) stop themselves from k wording Namatame, it was ADACHI who reported Nanako’s miracle recovery. He ran to the same corridor where they all cried in, even panting and falling to the ground in relief trying to report the good news. Then he pats Hayato on the shoulder and says he’s going to Dojima.

With this... /slaps roof of half of VLE/ ALL of this....adachi.... adachisan.... he Cares™️..... holy shit.....

OK!!! Yes I was gushing abt Masami-san again back to Adachi.

It’s portrayed that while not being afraid to admit his crimes, he also goes out of his way to be a bastard and have the gall to get a bunch of kids to fight him, one on eight. He can use a katana, probably a narrative dark reflection of the hero, Hayato which I thought was nice—and he can fight!!! It also shows his persona, yes, but...it doesn’t make it clear if he’s overwhelmed by his Shadow like in the game, where his eyes were yellow and he was emitting a dark aura.

But it gets interesting how he sees he’s getting overwhelmed and starting to lose his edge towards a bunch of kids. He falls to the ground even banging the floor like a whiny brat while literally the IT tries to tell him to turn himself in. Again, like a brat he tells everyone to shut up—before getting incapacitated. While some of the IT rejoice, he bolts up unaccepting of his defeat—before getting hit in the stomach.

THEN HE BACKFLIPS—then Hayato slashes him.

In a tone of disbelief, he goes “no way...” and collapses to the ground, being possessed by Ame-no-Sagiri.

Blah blah blah then Teddie rockets himself into the eyeball spy cam and then they both explode aaaaa

Teddie survives but I really don’t know where Adachi went. Not even a mention by Dojima if he turned himself in or was ever found—or I need to review VLE for the 48274827482nd time hehe
