"I'm gonna be just like them one day.." Sighing dreamily, you sat down at the cafeteria table, watching a video on your rotomphone while chowing down breakfast.

It was footage of a fierce Pokémon battle in Galar--a showdown between two of your idols, who were among the most famous dragon trainers of all time: Lance and Raihan.

Of course, you looked up to many other dragon type users in Paldea, but these two in particular kickstarted your dreams of becoming one yourself, inspired by their interviews and fierce determination.

You also hoped to meet them and have a battle, although that was a little too farfetched for you right now..

Yet you didn't let that discourage you from forming your own dragon team, using your studies at Uva/Naranja Academy to teach them all the best moves and remember type matchups.

Tatsugiri was your main partner, and when combined with your Dondozo..it was an absolute powerhouse in double-battles--albeit this academy usually focused on the traditional single battles.

You were also currently raising a Drakalok, Cyclizar, Arctibax, and Sliggoo, and you cherished all of them dearly. Tatsugiri was a bit of an attention hog at times, though, and always wanted to stay out of its ball and on your shoulder.

You didn't mind it, of course. Whether you're heading to class or to a tournament where dragon trainers were going to participate, you always went together.

Life was perfect.

Except for-

"Still prattling on about being the next famous dragon gym leader, huh?"

-one of your bullies already ruining your day before it could even begin.

For some reason..a few kids at the academy really had it out for you simply because you admired famous dragon trainers. You didn't think there was anything wrong with looking up to your idols. But apparently they thought you were being too "obnoxious" about it and sought to make your life utterly miserable.

It only got worse when you spoke up about it to a teacher, as that bully got off with nothing but a slap on the wrist--that being to train their Pokémon as "punishment".

By sheer convenience, they had ice and fairy types. And that teacher only gave them the chance to make their team stronger and further intimidate you...to the point where you're afraid to go outside, fearing they'll drag you into a battle.

You've kept silent since, hoping to avoid them at all costs and try to keep your grades up. But unfortunately, Arceus wasn't smiling upon you today...and quite frankly, you were tired.

Huffing, you switched off your phone and scowled up at the bully. "Still following me around campus, huh?" You mocked, with Tatsugiri hopping on the table and mimicking your expression. "That's kinda creepy if you ask me."

"Well those stupid fangs of yours are creeping everyone out." They sneered, pointing out your sharp teeth. "Halloween is over, y'know."

"I've already told you..these are canines, and they are real."

"Yeah? More like real freaky."

"Look, just leave me alone before you anger Tatsugiri." You warned, watching as their gaze shifted to your ace, falling silent for a moment or two...

Before erupting into laughter. "Oh wow, I'm soooooo scared of your stupid sushi roll! What ever will I do??" They shook their head. "If you want my advice, dump this thing and get yourself a real dragon. Like a Charizard or-"

"You don't get to decide WHO I can have as a partner!!!" Your hands slammed onto the table as you stood up, fists clenched with anger. Even though you could see people's heads turning in your peripheral vision, you didn't care. "Tatsugiri may not look it, but it's more powerful than you'll ever know! You don't know our bond, so just back off already!!"

"Oooooh, I didn't know you knew Outrage..better not hit yourself in confusion." They snickered.

"...why are you like this?" With slumped shoulders, you frowned at them. "Why do you keep tormenting me day after day?! I've done nothing to you. Is it a crime to admire my heroes? To wanna be like them?"

"No, but you'd be an embarrassment to every future dragon tamer. I mean who'd wanna see a pathetic thing like that in the Elite Four? Or on a Champion's team? Raihan and Lance would laugh in your face and crush you if they saw-"

"STOP IT!!" You finally snapped, hitting the table again before taking out one of your pokeballs. "Do you want a battle?! Is that what you want?!! Then you'll get it-!!"

"[Y/n], what is the meaning of this?"

Hearing the voice of the director made all the color drain from your face. The bully just smirked as you slowly turned to Harrington, seeing him looking at you with a frown.

"This is the second disturbance you've caused in this same area. You know battles aren't permitted inside the academy."

It's only then did you realize everybody in the cafeteria was staring..and you shrunk back in embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry, Director. I didn't mean to shout. They were just-"

But when you tried to point out the bully, they were gone.

How convenient.

"From how it looks..you were intimidating them. And you should also know we have a zero tolerance policy for such behavior."

"But I wasn't..they-!" You tried in vain to defend yourself, yet the look on Harrington's face told you he didn't wanna hear any of it.

"We can discuss this further in my office. Return your Tatsugiri to its pokeball and follow me, if you will."

"....yes, sir." Defeated, you gathered your things and put Tatsugiri back into the pokeball (much to its dismay), before commencing the long walk of shame to the director's office.

Maybe he will believe you.

"He didn't believe me either. What's the point of "standing up for myself" if I'm just gonna get in trouble?! What's the point if they're always gonna get away with it while I face suspension?!"

"Suu.."

"I know I kinda let myself go back there, but...th-they kept pushing me and pushing me! Why couldn't he understand that? Why doesn't anyone here understand-?!"

"Tasu!"

Calming yourself down a little, you looked to Tatsugiri, who sat on your bed and looked up at you with sad eyes, wishing you weren't being so harsh on yourself.

"....well, I know you understand me, buddy." You quietly sighed and sat down, bringing it into your hands as it nuzzled your cheek. Immediately your shoulders relaxed. "I'm sorry. Thank you. I'm just...it's been frustrating. But I swear I'll never replace you for any other dragon. Not even for a shiny Charizard."

"Yip-yip?!" It cried out.

"Believe me! I won't." You chuckled, although you stopped as you thought over this morning's events...

And suddenly you felt sick to your stomach.

Just thinking about going to your afternoon class today made you feel ill, wondering who was going to harass you two next...and if you'll be able to do anything about it without getting into trouble with the director.

Now that you've gotten your second strike, you had to be careful not to lash out like that again.

But what else were you supposed to do?

Let them continue to bully you around and make your poor partner feel absolutely worthless? How was that fair to either of you?

At this point, you've ran out of adults in this academy to talk to...besides the nurse, of course, although she seemed more adept at healing Pokémon than counseling students.

Even if she was willing to listen, you doubt anything would change.

Nobody here took your side or could possibly understand what you were going through-

Your rotomphone started ringing, displaying an unknown caller ID. Normally you'd ignore it, although Tatsugiri had a better idea and decided to slap the screen with its fin, answering it.

"Tatsu!" You grumbled, pulling it away from your phone before addressing the stranger, feeling embarrassed. "Sorry! My Pokémon-"

"Greetings, am I speaking to [y/n]?"

".....uh...yeah?" Your eyebrows furrowed with confusion, not expecting to hear a distorted voice on the other end of the line. "And who am I speaking to exactly?"

"My name is Cassiopeia. Leader of Team Star."

"Team Star?" You blinked, remembering all of the rumors you've heard about this organization. They were a small group of kids who got bad grades, skipped school often...and sometimes harassed others into joining them or pulled pranks on teachers.

Why would their leader contact you?

Or better yet...how did they even get ahold of your number?

"Correct. We've been watching you for some time, and we see your pain. It must feel awful...being pushed around and intimidated all because you admire some famous trainers. And when you finally have the courage to defend yourself and your Pokémon...suddenly you're the bad guy? It's so unfair."

"How do you.....l-look, um..Cassiopeia. I got a lot going on right now." You mumbled, hoping to end this conversation quickly. "I'm facing suspension if I cause one more scene, so I don't think I should be talking to delinquents like-"

"That is a lie. Team Star isn't a group of delinquents. We're so much more than that." They interrupted you, sounding a bit annoyed. "The truth is that WE are the victims. We who were shamed and excluded for the crime of being ourselves. The system has failed us, [y/n], and we formed this group as a way to stand up and stand out."

"...ah, I see." Now you were growing a bit more understanding and sympathetic towards them. You always had a feeling that your classmates overexaggerated how "evil" this team really was, making comparisons to Team Rocket and organizations that were legitimately evil and criminal.

But obviously, you never put your two cents in. You were already getting bullied enough just for saying Lance and Raihan are cool dragon trainers you wished to meet.

"So...obviously you're trying to sell me something." You huffed, kicking your feet up on the desk. "You want me to join your team as one of your goons-?"

"Oh no. I actually have something much better in mind." Cassiopeia cut in once more. "We've seen how you battle with dragon types. Very impressive, I must say. You never back down from a challenge. You're fierce, protective..and you demonstrate incredible leadership."

That felt flattering to hear, considering all the times you've gotten criticized for your battling techniques during Ms. Dendra's class.

Recently, she actually made you apologize to your classmate, whose Pokémon was actively bullying yours and provoked it into using a powerful move that knocked it out in one hit.

Why was that such a problem?

Because you weren't supposed to be battling, but the bully kept pushing you into one--and of course, Ms. Dendra didn't see that part.

Only the part where you broke the "No-OHKO" rule she had written into her lesson plan for that day.

Now you were struggling to get your grades back up in battle strategies, which was hard since you gained a reputation as being "too aggressive"..when in reality you were just so afraid and fed up that no one would listen to you.

So hearing this complete stranger give you praise felt genuinely good.

"Oh! Ah...thank you." You decided to bite the bullet. "So what's your offer?"

"We believe you're a good fit to be a squad leader. We have one more slot available. Interested?"

Your heart immediately jumped at the opportunity, although part of you was still holding back.....wondering if it was worth getting mixed-up with people like Cassiopeia and Team Star's revered leaders.

This could very well throw away your entire future and your goals of becoming the next dragon type gym leader. You could be expelled for sure, or even blacklisted from partaking in tournaments.

But at the same time, you were so tired of living in fear and dealing with all of this alone.

Why should you have to? That's setting a terrible example for your Pokémon--they shouldn't have to see their trainer living like that. You had to be brave and stronger, but that was almost impossible if you were just going to suffer repercussions for trying.

Cassiopeia took your silence as hesitation. "I know this is a lot to think about. But trust me, [y/n]. Team Star can do more for you than the Academy ever did. You'll get to train without limits. Your name will be known by all, and nobody will mock you or Tatsugiri ever again. That is what you want, isn't it? To grow stronger together? To stand up against those who wronged you?"

Hearing them mention your partner made you look to the Mimicry Pokemon in your lap. Seeing the way they put their fin on your hand and gave you a small nod ultimately solidified your answer.

You weren't turning back now.

"We can discuss this tomorrow if you'd like-"

"No, I made up my mind. I'll take it. When do I start?"

"Looking sharp as always, Revavroom."

With a sharp-toothed grin, you gently patted the head of your Starmobile--specifically the Revavroom attached to it, as it rumbled in happiness.

Then you hopped onto the vehicle, climbing up to the stage where you could survey the rest of your camp, observing your goons hanging out by the vending machines and driving around on their Cyclizars.

This was the Achird Squad base stationed at Casseroya Lake, and for about a year or so...you've also called it home.

The location was perfect for a mighty dragon leader such as yourself, allowing you to keep watch over the Tatsugiri and Dratini herds you'd see in the waters from time to time.

It was far better than the cramped dorms of the Academy. They would never have let your dragons roam free like Dragapult, Baxcalibur, and all the rest were doing right now..

Ever since joining Team Star, you never looked back and never regretted your decision. You became fast friends with the other bosses, with Atticus even designing some cool armor plates for your outfit that resembled a Kommo-o's scales.

Although things have been...rather weird as of late.

Especially since it was the anniversary of the incident.

Back at the Academy, you and all of the leaders came together with the ultimate to confront your bullies once and for all. It was meant to finally settle who was the strongest, and how you were sick of being pushed around.

Least to say..the tables have turned, and everyone knew your names.

The bullies ended up running scared, barely putting up a fight themselves before scrambling to heal and recall their Pokémon.

You felt pretty good about it, especially when you knocked out that jerk who made fun of your teeth and admiration for dragon trainers in one fell swoop.

But then you looked around and saw everyone's scared faces. Many were recording the battles, spreading them all over social media, or shielding their own Pokémon from potential harm--even though you never intended to hurt them whatsoever.

It turned into a huge scandal over who was in the right or wrong, although in the end your bullies played the victims, dropped out of school, and ended up being listened to the most.

They made you out to be monsters who just attacked them for no reason..and it almost got you all expelled.

However, Cassiopeia took the blame, and while you were pardoned, Harrington, the deputy director (who tried erasing all records of the scandal and bullying to "preserve" the Academy's image), and many teachers left, guilty that they didn't do more to prevent this.

It would have been a bittersweet victory for Team Star---had your leader not also vanished, their last message being a call for the organization to disband.

To this day, none of you understood why they'd do that...or why they think you'd ever wanna leave this team and go back to your studies.

How could you after the faculty messed up this badly?

How could you after they still sided with the bullies?

How could you after they tried to cover up what really happened?

In the end, you all promised to stick together, abiding by your codes and living out on the squad bases. You occasionally met up for discussions and battle plans, although you always held onto hope that if the team kept going long enough....Cassiopeia might come back.

You've tried contacting them through various means, yet none of your Rotoms could retrace their calls nor social media posts. Everything was gone.

As though they wanted you all to forget ever meeting them..

It never made sense to you, considering you could really use a leader back then.

But what's done is done, and you winded up assuming a de factor leader position, given your team was the strongest out of all of theirs. Of course, Ortega was less-than-pleased about holding a vote on it, but you won the majority and he eventually got over it.

Now you've been training your Pokémon more frequently, and only because there's something called "Operation: Starfall" going around--and apparently some Paldean trainer was going around tackling each base with the hope of claiming their badges.

One of the codes was that being defeated in battle meant surrendering it, and that means...

Someone was dead set on shutting down Team Star for good.

But you wouldn't let them. The other bosses were your friends, family..and you'll be damned if you lost them, too.

"Boss! The others are comin' in!" You heard one of the grunts shout, and you looked towards the horizon in surprise.

She wasn't kidding.

Ortega, Mela, Eri, Giacomo, and Atticus were at your base's entrance, waiting for you. Although you were eager to see them after being occupied with training for so long...it didn't concern you that all of them chose to show up at once.

But you refused to show any sort of alarm, huffing as you jumped off the stage, mounting your partner Cyclizar. "Let's ride!" You barked, allowing it to sprint towards the group at full speed.

Your cape fluttered in the wind as it leaped across a small stream, all while Tatsugiri--who was resting in a small basket attached to it--held on for dear life.

Upon arriving, the bosses stopped their chatter and turned as you slowed down, stepping off Cyclizar. You gave it a small pat on the head, assuring that it could rest, before looking at the group.

"So we meet again...what's with the sour faces?" Your eyebrows furrowed at their expressions. When nobody was immediately speaking up, you huffed. "Come on, out with it. You can't come all this way to my base just assume I can read your minds-"

"We come before thee bearing..a warning." Atticus muttered, bowing his head in shame. "The student you've spoken of hath proven to be quite the adversary."

"Is that so? Surely they haven't claimed all of your badges, have they?"

"........"

"Why is no one talking-?"

"Because we got our asses handed to us." Mela bluntly stated, clenching her fists. "We got absolutely smoked...and now you're the only one left."

Your eyes widened in shock and horror, although you didn't get the chance to respond as Ortega cut you off.

"Now before you freak out on us all..we did try our best. We did everything you and Cassiopeia taught us. But this kid....they're good. Almost too good. And this guy named Clive was helping them out the whole time, getting under our skin and everything...."

"Well I wouldn't say that." Eri looked at the fairy trainer, crossing her arms over her chest as she frowned. "He wanted to know where we're coming from and why we're doing all of this."

"...and you just told him?"

You could see everyone tense up, and you just scowled, wondering why they would do this.

"What makes you all think he would care...or why anybody from that academy would care about us now?" Your eyebrows furrowed as Tatsugiri sat on your shoulder, mimicking your expression. "Nobody cared when they hurt us...nobody cared when we were literally begging for help. Look, I know keeping this group together was hard, but it's no excuse to-"

"Honestly...I'm kinda tired of this charade. At least someone's willin' to listen to us now.." Giacomo remarked, frowning a little bit. "But here's the lowdown, [y/n]: we got beaten into the dirt and followed our code, so now we're here to give ya a little heads up before this kid comes after you next. We're sorry. But we tried."

"And we still don't know who's really behind this sting operation.." Mela grumbled, shaking her head in worry. "Someone wants to shut us down for good, and it's definitely not either of those new students. They're just being used to carry out the dirty work."

"I might have a good idea on who it is...and I swear, they'll answer for this." You bared your teeth. "But I'll save my dragon rage for this trainer. Wherever they are, whatever they're doing...I hope they know I'm ready. Because I'm gonna defend Team Star...defend us....until my last breath."

"Su! Su!!" Tatsugiri trilled in agreement, nuzzling your cheek, to which you couldn't help but smile a little bit.

"Well whatever happens next, you have our full support, [y/n]." Eri smiled as she patted your shoulder. "Badge or no badge, we stand behind you."

Everyone else chimed in with agreements, smiles on all of their faces as well--although Atticus' wasn't immediately noticeable, you could see it in his eyes.

Knowing this group still cared about you and believed in your battling skills made all the tension leave your shoulders.

Cold Travels (Turo X Male Reader)

“I-I hate the cold.”

“You already said that 10 tens.”

“Good. Did you know I hate the cold?”

Turo can’t help but smirk as he and his boyfriend travels through the region. Being students of Uva academy, they of course participate with the treasure hunt. For Turo, he just want to research his several projects and finally get in the great crater. All the while, he supports his boyfriend, who’s challenging the 8 gyms and the league. In order to get in the crater, Turo needs special permission and if Y/N manages to become champion, which would make things a lot easier. During the journey, Y/N is doing quiet well without any major setbacks. Still, it appears that the cold, snowy mountains is the worst.

“How about instead of complaining you get out your Skeledirge?”

“Oh.” Y/N deadpanned respond. Quickly, he grabs the Pokéball and throws his fire Pokémon out. Instantly, he can feel a bit of warm, but it appears that he isn’t the only one suffering from it. “Oh no, he’s c-cold too.” Skeledirge quickly walks over to Y/N, who gives him a hug. “I’m sorry sweetie.”

Turo stops walking as Y/N consoles his Pokémon. He always finds it surprising his overly affectionate methods manage to get him 7 badges. “We’re almost at the city. Let’s go.”

Y/N sighs. He looks down at the upset Pokémon. “T-Think you can manage to accompany u-us, buddy?” Despite the situation, Skeledirge drops with his upset act and look more determent. “That’s my boy! Let’s go.”

As the three walk through the mountain, the sun sets, and the moon rises. The snowy weather stops, but with it being dark, it’s still cold. Turo remains stoic, as usual. Yet, it his boyfriend continues to suffer.

“Are we almost there?”

“Just a couple of hours.”

“H=Hours?!” Y/N gasps. “It’s dark! I feel tired and feel like crap! There i-is no hotel or something nearby!”

Turo looks back. “Why? We got our tent.”

“We’re sleeping in the tent?” Y/N frowns. “O-Okay, I’m going to die.”

“Don’t overreact so much.” Turo looks around. “Let’s settle there.”

The three heads to a flat area between a couple of trees. Turo is setting up the tent, while Y/N impatiently creates a campfire by shoving a couple of logs on the ground and yelling-

“Flamethrower!”’

Instantly Skeledirge spit out fire. With a half-open mouth, he watches the light flashing in the area. He makes a mental note to avoid cold areas when he’s travelling Y/N. His boyfriend then is quick to get out his cooking supply and begin making food. Quietly, Turo makes the tent and once he’s done, he let it know.

“Tent is set. How about we let our Pokémons out?”

“T-They have to eat. Too bad it’s in the cold…”

Turo merely walks over to their bags to get his Pokéballs first. He let out his Gallade, Volcarona, Delibird, Hariyama, Hydreigon and Tyranitar. Most of the Pokémons realized the situation they’re in and quickly get to the campfire. All except Delibird, who’s quick to greet his trainer by jumping at him to hug him.

“I know. I know. You’re a good boy.” Despite it first finding the affection annoying, he grows accustomed to his Pokémon’s behavior. After some petting, Delibird let go and get to his other friends.

Turo then gets to Y/N’s Pokéballs, freeing Mabosstiff, Glimmora, Houndstone, Tatsugiri and Clodsire. They as well notice the cold and get to the rest. Turo walks and be the last one to join the campfire. There, Y/N cooks everyone’s food.

“O-One at the time, guys. I have to cook for 14, y’know? It takes time.”

Turo sits beside his boyfriend, closely since it’s cold. Y/N is focused on the food. He’s always the one who’s doing the cooking. Because of that, he always has the rule to feed the Pokémons first before himself and Turo. Usually, he merely gives them something easy to make and basic food. However since it’s cold, he’s sure they want something hotter.

Several minutes later, and Y/N cooked the last meals, giving one to himself and Turo. In the background, all the Pokémons are eating the food happily. “Here you go.”

“Thank you.” The two begin eating. During which, he begins to chat. “Do you intend to train after the 8th badge?”

“Yes. The league is something on their own. I-I need a solid strategy with a great team. Once we figure something out, we get what we need.”

“Good.” Turo responds. “Know my Pokémons are willing to fight for you.” He then looks at Delibird, who eats away his food. “Some are stronger than others, keep that in mind.”

“Don’t be so mean. He’s a sweetie.” Y/N defends him.

“He’s too sweet. Speaking of which, I will never uncover the mystery he likes me more then you.”

“O-Opposites attracts, I guess. Kinda like us.”

“You could say that.” Turo agrees. “Does that mean you relate with Delibird?”

“Honestly, yeah. You too look s-stoic whenever I’m being nice to you.”

Turo looks back at him, being somewhat offended. “I do not. I remember being very happy during our first date.”

“Yes, but that was a long time ago. You’re used to it.” Y/N argues back.

“What do you want then? Get married?”

“We’re 17. W-We can’t get married.”

“Yet.”

Y/N sighs, while Turo is smirking cheekily. Both of them laugh. Afterwards, they continue to eat their dinner.

In their tent, both guys are sleeping in their sleeping bags. Although one of them is suffering from the cold then the other. It only takes some time before Turo notices it. Once his eyes open, he can see Y/N shivering from the cold. The tech-man sits up to look closer at his boyfriend. He’s vast asleep, but he’s still suffering.

Turo knows he needs to do something. He looks at Y/N’s sleeping bag to see it’s quiet spacey. The slick haired man gets out of the bag and carefully get in Y/N’s. Once in, he put his arm around Y/N to hug him, trying to give him some warmth.

Hours has passed and Y/N opens his eyes. He’s quick to notice the cold once again and curls up. That’s when he notices something warm behind him. He turns his head to see Turo sleeping. Y/N only can smile, thankful he has such a great and caring boyfriend.

“T-Turo, wake up…”

In front of his face, he can see the black haired man waking up. He let out a yawn before responding. “Good morning, Y/N.”

“Morning. I didn’t know I had to be freezing in order to get you spooning with me.”

“You’re no good when you’re dead.”

“Is it really that hard to flirt back?” Y/N chuckles. “I know you did it because of the cold, but at least say something flirty.”

Turo smirks. “How about… I like to feel your body against me?”

“Good start.” Y/N sits up, as does his boyfriend. “Let’s get some breakfast and move. The sooner we get the last badge, the sooner we can leave this damn mountain.”

Since Y/N is done with the snow and the cold, he and Turo decided to have a pitstop in Montenevera. Both of them remember very well when Y/N got his sixth badge. The slick teen remembers how much his boyfriend trained for the gym, worried whether he’s going to lose, only to steamroll through the gym. He only can hopes this will happen for the last gym too.

The plan now is doing any last training, rest and strategize a plan. That’s what both teens had in mind. However, what Turo hadn’t in mind is the place where they’re going to rest and strategize after the training.

“…And since it’s going to be an ice type gym, I plan to send Skeledirge and use Torch Song to go through the biggest chunk of the opponent’s Pokémon. If Skeledirge goes down, Glimmora is next and put out the toxic spikes. Then we sweep with Venoshock. If there is any chance she gets down, I use Mabosstiff and Houndstone, since Clodsire is weak against ice and Tatsugiri is screwed when the opponent has Freeze Dry. Basically I’m planning to do a sweep. What do you think?”

“Remind me again we’re in a hot spring?”

Inside of a hotel, Y/N demanded to go somewhere warmer and decided to go the hot springs. That leaves both teens in their towels in the warm water. Since they got some extra money, they got a privet bath. Their Pokémons are enjoying the bath as well, whether in the water or at the side.

 “To see you naked. Now answer the question.”

Turo isn’t really used being in a relationship, especially doing the lovey-dovey part. This includes the spicy parts as well, even seeing his partner almost naked.

“I doubt you’re going to fail. You have the type advantage. With Torch Song and Toxic Spikes you managed to have a great dent to the gym’s team at least. …Though I have to say, this is almost always your strategy.”

“Offense is the best defensive. Besides, I got the opportunity. I have always the advantage or equal with the gym’s team. Why fix it when it isn’t broken?”

“I doubt that isn’t going to work with the league. But when you see the opportunity, do it.”

It’s the last day for the gym challenger carrying just 7 badges as they walk towards the Glaseado gym. Since it’s just around the corner, it doesn’t take long before they get to the skiing part.

“I h-hate the cold… s-so much.”

Turo can’t help but sigh. “I’m going to be so happy once we leave this mountain.”

“And I’m n-not going back.”

“I know.” Turo begins to feel a bit tired with Y/N’s complaining. If there were more cold areas in the region, he doesn’t know how to deal with his boyfriend. Right now though, he focuses on the goal.

Speaking of which, both teens see the gym building up high on the peak of the mountain. “There is the gym.” Turo comments, as he looks back at Y/N. “This is going to be it. You’re going to beat this gym, and you’re going to participate with the league. Just keep with the strategy, like always, and win.”

And so Y/N did. Outside of the gym court, Y/N is showing off the last badge as he stands besides his team and Turo. With a smirk on his face, Y/N proudly shows of the badge, while Turo only looks proud.

“You did. I knew you had it in you. Now we just have to train and strategize for the league. I start researching straight away.”

“No, the f-first thing I want right now is to get away from this dumb mountain!” Y/N impatiently complains. “It s-sucked the first time, it sucked more the second time. Let’s g-get a cap ASAP.” He puts the badge away is quick to look around for the nearest cap flyer.

All Turo does is sigh, but he does smile. Despite his behavior, Turo knows it’s temporary. All that is left to defeat the league. Once his beloved did, he can finally enter Area Zero without any problem and let his dreams become true.

Episode 68: Some Thoughts

First episode of the arc and its just fine. Its a set up episdoe and those tend to not be the most exciting, at least to me. But I still like this one. It was super cute seeing the kids explorer the Brave Olivine looking for changes and the Tatsugiri are fun little additions to the crew. Also very adorable watching Orla gush over the changes in the ship. The battles against the Six Heroes were fine, although they didn't get too far before Terapagos had seen enough. And fine, I will admit, Amethio's conversation with Zirc and Onia was sweet too. What really caught my eye most of all was the new intro however:

Not only did it give me this yummy shot of Sidian to be added to the collection, it, more importantly, gave me this shot of young Luciis and Gibeon, as well as...who the heck is that?! My curiosity is absolutely peaked. Who is this mysterious third person and how do they connect with Lucius. Looks like they're holding Terapagos too so that mean Terapagos had to be close to them too. Let's hope this question actually gets answered this arc. The new music is a total bop by the way, my second favorite song after Halo this series. Outro was fine I guess, its a little odd to me.

Anway next time looks like a lot of fun. I'm a sucker for body swap stories and I've always wanted to see one between trainer and Pokémon (and it comes out on my birthday too!)

LEO/NEED-

Most of Leo/need's partners are simply companions- Ichika and Shiho know a bit of battling, and Honami has been gettng better at it, but they're really just in it for the friends! Saki does love watching Pokemon Contests though (especially her brother's :)) Also lore wise I think they have encountered Jirachi before. (It fits so well... starry wishes...)

Ichika- she inhereted the family Maractus after taking such good care of it as a kid. Maractus loves to dance along while Ichi is practicing rhythm guitar! Almost like a spiky metronome haha. I can also see her with a Furrett, but I don't have a reasoning other than vibes.

Saki- her partner all through childhood is a yellow Minior! A fragile yet beautiful star glowing through the night :) Minior doesn't battle but it is a good friend!!!! I also think Saki would really like Pancham for some reason. All of her pokemon have nicknames, and now all of Leo/need's do to.

Honami- I don't know what to tell you Appletun was literally made for this girl. It follows her around to her housekeeping jobs and helps make really sweet apple dishes! There was also a Grookey she encountered often in elementary school but never had the courage to catch. The pair reunited a bit after the formation of Leo/need, and officially became part of the team! Grookey quickly evolved into Rillaboom (she really likes playing drums with Hona). Honami's mother has a Blissey, who sometimes goes with Honami to housekeeping jobs as well! (Blissey really likes Kanade)

Shiho- her first Pokemon was a Toxel that she absolutely adores. Toxel evolved into a Low-Key Toxtricity around middle school! People are a bit intimidated by him, but it's mostly just a front. Toxicity is a very protective Pokemon and the strongest battler in Leo/need. She also has a Bunneary that is very near and dear to her. Pampered little princess. Nobody at school knows Bunneary exists. She also takes care of the family Kantonian Vulpix, the little sister of Shizuku's Alolan one!

MORE MORE JUMP

Pokemon Performers! Probably more of the Kalosian variety than Hoenn/Sinnoh, focused on the true performance of it over any sort of battling. Similar to the main story, in which Haruka, Airi, and Shizuku are all popular but disillusioned celebrities who meet Minori, a hopeful fan who dreams of being an idol, too. They reignite their dreams through the Power of Friendship.

Minori- her first partner was an Eevee! The two of them would watch Haruka's performances and try and replicate them constantly. Eevee doesn't ever want to evolve and Minori completely supports that. Just because Eevee is a normal type first evolution doesn't mean it can't pack a punch! She also has a very very energetic Yamper. It's more of a family pet than a true partner pokemon, but she loves it just the same! I also think Minori would have a Tatsugiri but I cannot figure out lore reasoning why. I think she just would.

Haruka- Haruka is SOOOO Prinplup coded like I do not know what else to say. Piplup was her starter that she absolutely ADORED. Thinks it's the cutest thing ever. Prinplup was there for her during her lowest moments and has always been a responsible, guiding light. Haruka has since also caught an Eiscue.

Airi- Personally, I choose to believe allergies do not exist in the Pokemon world because it would be heartbreaking to not be able to pet all of them (all of them). Also so Airi can have a Skitty!!! Skitty is a spunky thing that has great performance chemistry with Airi! They were popular on variety shows since Skitty is so dang cute. Ever since joining MMJ, Airi has been working with Skitty on learning to battle (for real, not scripted like the past).

Shizuku- Her family had an Alolan Vulpix that became her partner at a young age. The agency made her evolve it into a Ninetales "to better fit her image", even though Ninetales wasn't quite ready to do so. Still, Ninetales is really happy to be around Shizuku and often helps make sure she doesn't get lost. Shizuku loves pokemon a whole ton, but was only allowed to have one partner with her old group. After becoming part of MMJ, she catches a Slowpoke because she thinks its really cute. (Airi finds this fitting.) She's also caught a Feebas that evolved into Milotic!

VIVID BAD SQUAD

VBS are all battle trainers! Singing is still all their main passion, but hey! Why not have some pokemon battles there too? Vivid Street has a huge music and battle culture because of it. Since a lot of VBS's story centers on partnership, they each only have one main partner pokemon, but still work best within a team setting. They often do double battles!

Kohane- MORPEKO. SHE IS MORPEKO. innocent yet menacing hampster creatures.... there is nothing else more to say here. It is correct. (Count Pearl is her dad's Ekans who Kohane loves very much and everyone else is terrified by, btw)

An- she would do well with a Luxio! An would absolutely be an electric type trainer, and Luxio just seems like a good fit :) She grew up with Shinx, a gift from her father, and he evolved into a Luxio sometime around middle school? Luxio's the type to get An out of her own head when she starts feeling insecure about her own abilities. Also An puts little star clips on him during performances.

Akito- he chose Scorbunny as his starter, and the two loved playing soccer together! Scorbunny really loves being on the stage, even if it wasn't the best performer at first. Scorbunny has always stuck by Akito's side, no matter what. Scorbunny evolved into Raboot a bit before VBS formed, but after meeting Toya. It then evolved into Cinderace during the (equivalent) events of Burn my Soul!

Toya- he was raised alongside a supportive yet quiet Riolu. Since the Riolu line is able to read emotion, Riolu was often the one to realize Toya's own feelings before he could. Riolu, with Tsukasa's help, was the one to push Toya to leave classical music behind. Since meeting Akito, Riolu has evolved into a formidable Lucario. (It's a secret, but Souma has been trying to track down a Lucarionite for him...)

WONDERLANDS X SHOWTIME

Wondershow are all Pokemon Performers! Tsukasa started because he saw how much they made Saki smile (even though he could never get past the appeals round, he kept trying). Emu loves the energy, and since her family sponsored most competitions, she could compete often! Her style is very. wonderhoy. Nene wanted to be a performer, but after an embarrassing mistake in her childhood, gave up on that dream. Rui was banned from most competitions for "too dangerous of combinations" so often performed on streets (this doesn't go well). The four end up banding together to perform as a unit!

Tsukasa- It's a bit of an unconventional take, but- Ampharos! Tsukasa has always been a guiding light to those around him, so why not the Light Pokemon herself? Ampharos is equally confident and dramatic as her partner. They make a good team. Despite all his pegasus-ness, he does not actually have a Ponyta or Rapidash. He does like them a lot, though.

Emu- she sooooo has a Tinkaton. Small pink thing massive hammer complete life satisfaction. I'm also giving her a Stufful because I love Bewear and I love Emu, and because pink thing that is a menace.

Nene- her starter pokemon was a Popplio! Popplio is a lot more outgoing than Nene and tries his best to get Nene more comfortable in social situations. Popplio evolved into Brionne a bit before the fated show, but after her and Rui drifted apart. Brionne then evolved into Primarina after the Little Mermaid show. Instead of Robonene, Rui had created Magearna for Nene. Magearna acts as Nene's own personal protector, which she finds very sweet. She tries not to think about the implications of Rui creating an actual living pokemon in his garage for her.

Rui- his partner has always been a Rotom- a mischievous little thing! Rotom helps out with Rui's inventions, and is a great help for shows. It was really just them two for a very long time- though Rui absolutely adores everything there is about Pokemon, he doesn't really think any wild pokemon would really want to be his partner (other than Rotom). Rui does end up befreinding and eventually catching the lonely Gengar haunting the Wonder Stage. (Emu adores Gengar btw). He's also taken a liking to the back alley Sprigatito...

NIGHTCORD AT 25:00

Nightcord is still just Nightcord here! Mafuyu is still expected by her mother to be a human doctor, but deep down she really wants to be a Pokemon nurse, even if she doesn't quite realize it herself. K is still a musician with pokemon to support her, Ena is still a struggling artist who now has a partner by her side, and Mizuki is still Mizuki! They don't perform or battle.

Kanade- She has an Audino that helps take care of her! Audino is incredibly patient and makes sure Kanade is eating and resting (decently) enough, and sometimes helps compose or inspire melodies. I also think her mother had a Shaymin, who she inherited upon her passing.

Mafuyu- Mafuyu didn't have a pokemon partner growing up ("too much of a distraction from your studies!", "pokemon battling isn't a real profession, it's much better for you to be a doctor", the likes). However, since meeting n25, she's secretly gained a Galarian Cursola, a Froslass, a Trevenant, and a Hisuian Zoroark. She is an absolutely terrifying battle opponent. (Later on, Kanade gives her a Happiny egg from Honami's Blissey, totally not sparking some sort of nurse-aspiring reaciton...)

Ena- SMEARGLE. NORMAL TYPE ARTIST POKEMON. Smeargle definitely paints right alongside Ena! Smeargle is super sassy and an absolute pain to deal with. They get along quite well. Having each other inspires the other to keep painting, keep going, keep getting better. They respect each other a great deal.

Mizuki- their first Pokemon was an Eevee, a gift from Yuuki! They loved brushing it's fur and making it all soft and fluffy. Eevee chose to evolve into a Sylveon during Mizuki's second year of middle school. Around their first year of middle school, Mizuki encountered a male Raltz, who later evolved into a Kirlia. Everyone expects Kirlia to evolve into a Gallade one day, but he secretly dreams of becoming a Gardevoir. One day....

Miku- Pikachu on account of the mascot, Arceus on account of the versatility and legendary status, and Porygon on account of the computer!

MEIKO- Houndoom! Specifically one that mega evolves.

Woah! Dragon types? What’s your favorite? What’s the coolest? Have you ever been bitten? Aren’t they like kinda dangerous to work with sometimes? Most of the dangerous destructive legendaries are dragons. Isn’t that neat?

I love your energy! You've got that curious spunk any good pokemon lover has. I respect that.

My favorite dragon type? I love them all! Although I do love my ace Tatsugiri very much. I have a droopy form, but I love all three very much!

I think the coolest is Zygarde. Not many know much about them, but it's a beast who is made up of all these little cell Pokemon. I've always wanted a Zygard on my team. Maybe some day I'll have one.

I get bitten all the time. Working with dragon pokemon can be dangerous, but that can be said about any strong pokemon. I have had times where bites were bad enough for stitches, but dragon types are very remorseful. Almost all the ones who have bitten me have attempted to clean the wound after.

A lot of destructive legendaries are dragon type, yes. I find that the dragon type is full of pokemon with this strong elemental energy that is hard to compare to anything else. Legendaries especially carry this power. To me, this means that dragon type pokemon (and dragon type moves) need to be handled with care by strong trainers who can take the time to understand it. That's why I bring Tastsugiri everywhere I go! He helps me teach trainers about how to handle and care for dragon types.

Since your latios doesn't battle then that means you have 3 battle mons. Do you plan on having other pokemon for the other 3 slots? If so, what would you want?

i've said this before somewhere, but i've always kind of wanted a charmander. charizard is really cool. but like, fire types are hard to care for because of their high metabolism, and charizard's a carnivore besides, so like... it's just not viable money-wise.

i also considered catching a bagon. they're hard to catch and harder to train but salamence is reliable. but like, see above on why a full grown dragon is not really a good idea for me right now.

flygon's the same way. even if i got one of the bug type ones, they're still obligate carnivores and expensive to feed. though the ground type ones don't need to eat as often. plus i'm like... kind of scared of them.

probably the most viable catch for me right now is either tatsugiri or swablu. i've really been thinking about catching one of the frilly tatsugiri that live in the mt pyre lake, but i don't want to go back there... they're pretty easy to care for, though. i hear they make good starters.

there's also a dragon/fairy altaria variant that lives in the lady's spine, the mountains that split hoenn in half. the former petalburg gym leader was a fairy type specialist and had one as their ace. well, sort of. my point is an altaria or tatsugiri would be easier to care for than anything else i want right now.

Got a wide selection of events announced for summer in Scarlet and Violet

(I don’t have the DLC for either version so I’m just gonna mostly ignore the stuff exclusive to Kitakami and the Terarium for now)

Okay when I said I wanted raid reruns of 7-star Pokémon I didn’t get to battle in even Violet, I did not mean Pikachu! Pichu are cute though but the increased shiny chance doesn’t really get me very excited. I probably won’t bother with the Mass Outbreak part of this event but I guess for completionist’s sake I’ll take on Pikachu the Unrivaled in both versions (I’ll try not to underestimate it like I did with Eevee)

Dondozo the Unrivaled? That was unexpected. I’ll probably send Lucifer against it in Violet. Maybe Punk in Scarlet but we’ll see. Also Tatsugiri Mass Outbreak at the same time. I think Tatsugiri is in general more interesting than Pichu and I am interested in getting its shiny so I can forgive this one for not featuring a mark

Gimmighoul reruns - ehh. If I can try and get a shiny then it’ll be cool but unfortunately this event doesn’t have increased shiny chances and I’m unaware of finding any shinies in raids anyway so I don’t think this one’s that interesting. I complained that we’re getting a Pikachu rerun but I’ll be honest this is the least interesting of the four Tera Raid events we have announced. Wattrel Mass Outbreak alongside it? Increased shiny chance and mark chance for the Pumped Up Mark so I may enjoy attempting to get a shiny Wattrel with the Pumped Up Mark in both versions

And finally the Pseudo Legendary events. Another surprise 7-star raid that isn’t a starter (Dragonite the Unrivaled? Might have to bring Medusa in Scarlet and maybe Knight in Violet. To be fair I think Knight is a more responsible choice here than Medusa) and another surprise Mass Outbreak event with both increased shiny chance and increased mark chance (this time for the Charismatic Mark). Definitely out of these the event I’m most looking forward to and it’ll be cool to have Larvitar and Bagon’s version exclusivity temporarily removed as well

I will admit Riolu, Comfey and Goomy are way more interesting than the Pokémon featured in their events in Paldea

What kinds of pokemon do the grunts of each past and present Yonko crew have?

I want to see the pokemon of people besides the big players 😅

For the Yonko's crews, the grunts have their own individual teams based on preference. Generally the higher up you are, the better Pokemon you have. Of course each crew has some Pokemon that are popular among the crews. Some mimicking their higher up idols.

Big Mom: Well you've got the food based Pokemon of course. You'll commonly see these Pokemon and their evolutions. Combee, Exeggcute, Swirlix, the elemental monkeys, Pumpkaboo, Milcery, Fidough, Smoliv and Nacli. Pokemon good at finding food are popular too like Swinub, Skovet, Lillipup and Lechonk lines.

Kaido: This crews aim is to get dragon types and fossil Pokemon. Obtaining one of these can lead to a promotion. Cyclizar and Tatsugiri are the two dragons types commonly found amongst grunt level. Kaido ate the Gyarados fruit so you get a lot of cred if raise a Magikarp into a mighty, trained Gyarados. Horned Pokemon are popular too to fit the fashion such as - Nidorans, Rhyhorn, Gastrodon (west), Venipede and Skiddo. Black Maria fans has Spinarak's. Who's Who fans have cats like Meowth and Skitty.

Whitebeard Pirates: Much more varied on Pokemon than the previous two crews. Rare Pokemon weren't taken and given to higher ups. Catch it, it's yours. They liked to catch Pokemon with moustaches to tease Whitebeard. They would have annual contests for Pokemon with the best moustache. Common entries - Alolan Rattata, Kadabra/ Alakazam, Alolan Golem, Sealo, Kricketune, Herdier/Stoutland, Mienshao, Jillicent, Drampa, Thievul, Mr. Rime and Mabosstiff.

Red-Haired Pirates: Shanks encourages his crew to have at least one Pokemon good with water. Seems sensible for a pirate right? Most common are - Seaking, Floatzel, Wishiwashi, Lanturn, Azumarill, Swanna and Mantine.

Buggy: Pokemon with red noses or feature a red ball shape are common to celebrate their dashing Captain's glorious nose. Such as - Diglett, Ampharos, Nosepass, Spoink, Bidoof, Mime Jr. and Minior (red core.) Plusle and Minun are also popular to cheer on their Captain.

Blackbeard: He wants rare and powerful. For grunts to get anywhere they need Pokemon that can steal and kill. Such as - Arbok, Persserker, Skuntank, Tentacruel, Paldean Tauros, Houndoom, Sharpedo, Liepard, Excadrill, Basculin, Galarian Stunfisk, Honedge, Thievul and Barraskewda. Slugma are bred to burn down ships. Grunts will often leave them to drown.

Hello, everyone!!!!! The name's Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!!!!! Though I guess that might have to wait a little while, since I've found myself in a really weird place!!!!!!! Apparently it's someplace called Paldea? There are a ton of weird animals here too!!!! Or, uh, Pokemon, they're called!!!! I have a few already!!!!! They're are a stretchy Tatsugiri, a Heracross, and a bunch of Slither Wings!!!!! I'm definitely gonna try to catch more sometime, though, cause they're all super neat!!!!!! This place seems like a ton of fun!!!!! A new adventure, for sure!!!!! Just wish I knew where the rest of my crew was... Please let me know if you see any of em wandering around, shishishi! Anyways, though, I'm super excited to meet everyone!!!!! Hopefully all of us can be friends!!!!!!

I suppose I should say hello to everyone here, too! My name's Nami, and I'm the navigator of this crew! I'm also in charge of keeping Luffy in line... Feel free to ask me questions, too, if you'd like! I'll answer almost anything, though some questions you might need to pay for~ Hopefully you'll all behave yourselves, though! This world is interesting so far... My current Pokemon are two Meowth (a Kantonian and an Alolan one), and a Zorua!

Roronoa Zoro. Swordsman and first mate of the crew. My Pokemon are a Skarmory and a Honedge, at the moment. Is that everything important to mention? Probably. I'm also open for questions, if you guys want.

My only explanation here is that I have absolutely zero impulse control. Some basic info:

-This is probably gonna be a pretty goofy, low stakes blog for the most part! I don't expect stuff to get super serious here!

-Sapient Pokemon/legendaries interacting is perfectly fine!

-Absolutely NO nsfw asks! Suggestive stuff and flirting is fine, but nothing explicit here!

-Luffy is 19, Nami is 20, Zoro is 21, Robin is 30, and the mun is 18!

-There will be some spoilers here, but I'll try to tag appropriately! I won't tag anything pre time skip, though, so I definitely understand if you choose not to follow because of that!

-Main is @cursed-child-autumncookie (I mainly reblog One Piece there, and whatever else I'm hyper fixated on at the time. There are a lot of One Piece spoilers, there, too, if that's an issue!), and my other RP blogs are @trainer-kohaku and @team-skull-gladion

New Pals from Paldea - A BH6/Pokemon Thread

So you might remember that I did another Pokemon post in regards to the Big Hero 6 team a while ago.  Since that one did relatively well (in my standards), I figured I might as well do an updated thread for the new Scarlet/Violet games.

By the way, the designs in this game are some of the best that I’ve ever seen in a Pokemon game, and I’ve been playing them since Red/Blue.

(Goes to show you how old I am, right?)

And we’re going to start with probably the most perfect one of all:

1.) Honey Lemon - Tinkaton

Sometimes you just find two pictures that go perfectly together, and you don’t really need an explanation.

There’s really no other type that Honey Lemon fits into better than Fairy, and the thought of HL getting mad and having Tinkaton swinging a giant hammer fills me with joy.

I’m still trying to find a shiny one in my game, but it doesn’t want to show up in a mass outbreak for some reason.  I could breed for one, but I need a foreign Ditto for Masuda breeding, and I don’t have the time for that.

2.) Baymax - Maushold

The pic I used had Minimax in it, and that was an unintentional side-effect just because I needed this picture sideways.

Also, Tandemaus/Maushold have a signature move called Tidy Up, and this seems like something that Aunt Cass would abuse to no end.

Can’t have Spikes or Stealth Rocks up around the Lucky Cat Cafe.

3.) Hiro & Captain Cutie - Palafin Zero and Palafin Hero

Now you’re probably thinking “Why is this Hiro and not Fred?”  Well, I like the idea of giving the Hero Pokemon to the leader of the team.  Plus, Palafin is OP in his Hero form, just like Hiro is in his Captain Cutie form.

Plus, it’s purple in its Shiny form, which is perfect again for Hiro.

You know how I know this?

4.) Go Go - Cyclizar

Another obvious one, and I’m sure Go Go would love at have Miraidon as well, since it’s more futuristic for her tastes.  Special mention also goes to Varoom (the Steel/Poison engine Pokemon), which I’m sure Go Go would ride around with just like the Team Star captains.

Just don’t dress up like Mela.  The boots are way too big.

5.) Wasabi - Tatsugiri & Dondozo

This one is more of a headcanon thing, since I have Wasabi working at a sushi restaurant in my stories.  Plus, giving him a giant Water/Dragon that can basically Shell Smash without any downsize is my way of giving him the long straw.

6.) Fred - Armarouge/Ceruledge

The two new Pokemon evolving from Charcadet with armor items go to the guy with the armor/costume.  I know that, like above, giving him Palafin would be the easy way out.  I also know that he would totally cosplay as these two if he could.

...At the same time.

7.) Nemona Karmi - Pawmot

@iamaddictedtocoffee​ doesn’t seem to care for the particular comparisons between Karmi and Nemona, but I can’t unsee them.  And how perfect would it be for Karmi to get a cute, Electric/Fighting Pika-clone?

With Iron Man-like repulsor hands, apparently.

You should totally get Scarlet/Violet if you haven’t already; they’re easily the best games I’ve played in a while.  In the meantime, try not to imagine HL whirling around with a giant hammer made out of her purse.

Maybe Hiro can make one for her...
