my worst trait is the need to get 12 hours of sleep every night. if i have to get up at 6am well i should be in bed by 6pm. combine this with my natural inclination to stay up really late and you get me waking up past noon because i was up past midnight. if there is no external force like school or a job keeping me on my early bedtime schedule i will revert to sleeping til noon within a few days

The baby idea was absurd since the beginning but I wonder how you think Klaus would have reacted to Caroline being pregnant with his child instead of Hayley. Say they have sex before TO and Caroline gets pregnant from it, would Klaus have reacted as violently to it? Saying that they kill the baby and calling Caroline stuff like he did with Hayley? How about their relationship? Do you think it would have evolved like Klayley's?

About your question, I sat here for long minutes thinking about it because it’s not something that I ever even considered. I hate the baby thing. Once it happened I was like yeah, whatever. But when I first watched TO’s backdoor pilot I was SO ANGRY. It goes against EVERYTHING that should be basic understanding of vampire/werewolf mythology. The guy’s been dead for 1000 YEARS. Just no. I was so done with that shit, and then they made Caroline get pregnant through magical baby transplant. No. Just No. I would’ve hated it if it happened.

But if it had… I think Klaus would’ve been pissed off and dismissive in the beginning as well, would say mean things about the baby, act like he doesn’t care because, let’s be honest, a Klaus who relishes the idea of being a dad is just wrong. That never made sense to me in TO, btw. He embraced the thought way too easily. Klaus spent most of his life daggering his sibling because he couldn’t protect them and was afraid they’d be used against him, but sure, he’ll be thrilled to have a baby, why not? However, I don’t think he would ever be mean TO Caroline, as in hurting her or threatening her or placing curses on her like he did with Hayley, for obvious reasons. I think he’d be a hell of a lot more confused because he cares for Caroline and so he’d end up caring for her child even if he hated the idea of being a father. But I guess they’d still have some of the same issues, like him going crazy overprotective and picking fights with everyone just because he thinks they might come to harm his child and Caroline, and I guess he’d also have the same insecurities (about being a bad father, replicating Michael, or that his child would realize what a monster he is and so on and so forth).

But I think the greatest difference would definitely be in regards to Caroline. She would NEVER let herself become a pawn at the hands of the Mikaelsons like Hayley did. She wouldn’t just move in with them and let them do whatever the hell they wanted, and she’d definitely never become a Mikaelson herself. I can’t see her just giving in to the originals’ whims. She’s got too much personality for that. Caroline would be the one calling the shots regarding the baby, for sure. Klaus would whine, but he’d end up doing whatever she wanted because that’s what he always did.

Their relationship would be completely different from Klayley. They’d probably have trouble at first, maybe wouldn’t get together right off the bat, but it would evolve into romantic love and a marriage-of-sorts, for sure. I mean, there’s no way Klaus and Caroline would ever be in the same show and not end up together at some point, baby or no baby, I never saw anything romantic between Klaus and Hayley. Sure, they slept together, but that was more out of convenience than anything. I don’t think Klaus ever had feelings for Hayley like that. Eventually he started to care for her because she was the mother of his child, but that’s pretty much it. And thank God for that, because if they had made me sit through yet another love triangle with brothers I would’ve killed someone. Probably Julie Plec.

E) gangs up against you with all the current and future strongest people in the world, and then punches you so hard he makes you see the light of doing the right thing despite your centuries years old deep rooted hatred which singlehandedly kept you alive as an undead person

also reminder he did all that while he was only 14 years old. this is all things he did in less than a year.

this may not go over well but i want to say something before dav comes out because this GI article quote is really bothering me:

bisexuality and pansexuality are functionally the same thing. both sexualities are defined by being attracted to people of any gender and/or regardless of gender. i don't care if you personally identify as pan, i’m not attacking the label itself here because that’s not the point. i’m just saying they mean the same thing and i'm asking all of you in advance (especially people who are not bisexual) to please be careful with the way you talk about bisexuality wrt pansexuality because it is unfortunately very common for pansexuality to be lauded as "more progressive" than bisexuality by people who don't know bi history.

bisexuality has been documented since at least the 70s to be trans/nb inclusive and to not be limited by gender or sexuality. pansexuality is not more progressive than bisexuality. they're the same. please do not bring back the "hearts not parts" mentality. okay? cool.

No you know what. I thought Joker 2 was good. And I’m tired of pretending that it wasn’t. Reasons under the cut bc of spoilers.

Because the thing is… Arthur was never the incel power fantasy that a lot of people made him out to be the first time around. He was never a true figure of “white male rage” because fundamentally he was a figure of an extraordinary level of social/classist and interpersonal abuse that led him to violence that liberated him from that (as is the case with MANY mentally ill and socially disenfranchised people in the world), but the violence was absolutely never the thing that defined him as a character, but that’s always the first thing that people miss when a character is reduced to black and white elements in the zeitgeist. But this movie definitively proved that all of the incel dude filmbros, as well as average detractors who reduced him to that “white male rage” narrative the first time around were not reflective of him as a character because in the end, even ARTHUR HIMSELF held himself accountable for his crimes, even fessing up to killing his mother in the eleventh hour. And his subsequent death after this revelation even further drives home the point that how he exists as a figure of nuance could never survive in the world that created him OR the world that allegedly “embraced” him. And I think that’s kind of beautiful from a meta-narrative standpoint and VERY faithful to how the first film operated.

Jan 12, 2025 - Visiting my family home and look! It’s my old setup 🥺 I spruced it up for the few days that I’m here. Soon this room will be repurposed into something else. I’ve spent the last few days deep cleaning the whole house. Scrubbing, vacuuming, moving stuff around. It has been very therapeutic and I’ve been thinking about a lot of stuff- thinking about this year, my life, everything. Nothing like long mindless work to get you thinking thinking lol. Also nothing like a January deep cleaning to set you up for the rest of the year!
