Thoughts on Season 3 of Fuller House (3B):
Thoughts on 3A here. So just binge-watched all 9 episodes of it today haha and here are my random thoughts:
I LOVE THE GIBBLER FAMILY I LOVE FERNANDO AND KIMMY!!!! I JUST NEEDED MORE AND MORE OF THOSE TWO TOGETHER THROUGHOUT THIS SEASON AND/OR MORE GIBBLER FAMILY MOMENTS IN GENERAL THEY’RE JUST SUCH A WARM, LOVING, AND ADORABLY PERFECT FAMILY WHEN THEY’RE TOGETHER AND SO FUNNY WHEN THEY TRY TO OUTSHINE EVERYONE ELSE I LOVE THEM HAHA
Seriously, Andrea Barber is such a great actress!! Like honestly, she should really win an Emmy for this show I am not kidding haha. She is soooo entertaining!! and wickedly talented at acting!!!!
DJ AND STEVE YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! FINALLY!!!! I’VE WAITED SO LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! I’m not exactly 100% down on the whole DJ x Steve thing; I’ve said before that I think currently, the actor who plays Matt has more chemistry with DJ, but DJ x Steve was how it was SUPPOSED TO BE and I’m 2000% down for that. Also, idk how, but I think the Steve actor guy (Scott Weinger) somehow got cuter/more likable over the Season 3 break. He just seems to look a bit cuter and has more chemistry with DJ now lol (the kind he should have had at the beginning of Season 1).
The wedding fiasco... didn’t go down as ideally as I would have liked it to... it was the ultimate break-up — a wedding break-up — so it was, in a way, what you would have expected: really sad and harsh-letdowns all-around... idk how it could have turned out better (although there really is no excuse for how Steve and DJ treated their significant others ://). I am glad they didn’t drag out the whole DJ x Steve thing, though. And the Japanese-set episode was really fun!! Really enjoyed seeing all of the different, beautiful sights and experiences!! Wish we had gotten to see more of those :33 (The Japanese episode was definitely a bit shorter than I had expected.) Also loved how the episode was shot.
The appearance of the Japanese boy group Sexy Zone made me think of K-pop, and how much I love it, so I could relate. Sorry, guys, I just had to put that in there :PPP
KIMMY’S FASHION STYLE IS JUST SLAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! PROPS TO HER STYLIST IDK HOW THEY DO IT BUT SHE MAKES WACKY AND CRAZY LOOK SO AWESOME AND GOOOOD!!!!!
That alligator scene was top-notch. Great acting/balancing!
Seriously, as much as I love DJ and Steve, I will be so, so, so, so, so sad to see John Brotherton (the guy who plays Matt) go if he no longer gets a larger presence on the show. I have really, really appreciated the character Matt and have really enjoyed watching John’s performance.
Max, thankfully, is getting a little less annoying to handle on-screen (might have to do with his lack of scenes with the dog, which perhaps makes him less juvenile???). Also not exactly into his whole “I’m a smart guy”-type persona, but it’s not done terribly or maybe I’m getting used to it, so I can live with it. Idk, I just know I laughed more at and enjoyed his scenes more than I used to (he’s my least favorite character on the show, and probably still is).
Not really a fan of Max’s relationship with CJ’s girl, either (seems a bit forced), but whatever. If they want to make them that horrendously (I am not exaggerating when I use that word) cute couple, then more power to them.
Kinda sad/disappointed we didn’t get to see Popko for 3B, but he was a jerk, so it’s all okay. Ramona didn’t exactly get any love interests this time around, which is fine. And I really, really hope she doesn’t get with that high school dance-team guy, ugh. The dance-rival thing-y is cute enough, though, and I can see it being pulled off in the future.
I also don’t know why Ramona would skip out on SAFSPA: seemed like it was definitely her dream/goal as portrayed thus far, but okay, maybe it wasn’t. I thought the lesson we got out of that whole parent/kid situation was really good/nice.
Jackson and Rocki are a thing, and I AM LIVING FOR IT!!!!!! I’m just a sucker for nerdy guy/cool girl relationships, tbh :p :p
Still don’t like how Gia (a.k.a. Rocky’s mom) is sometimes cast as the “villain,” but oh well. I guess that discrepancy comes from us wanting post-Full House to be absolutely, 100% “feel-good,” but Gia was inherently written as a “bad” character, so she’s destined to be somewhat of the “bad” girl, no matter how far we get into the Fuller House world. At least she was written as less “evil” this time around.
ADORED Fernando and Tommy; ADORED Fernando, Tommy, and the race-car storyline; and ADORED Fernando and Tommy vs. Jesse and Pamela moment.
Tommy’s cute rn and had some really, really adorable moments this time around (funny enough, I enjoy him with Cosmo more than I do Max + Cosmo). I just really hope he doesn’t end up becoming annoying and unlikable like Michelle was on the original show. I liked Michelle as a baby/younger, but I didn’t enjoy her when she got older/was a toddler.
Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of the “let’s be cute with babies” on TV-thing, especially on the original show, but I really liked seeing the guys or anyone holding and playing with the babies this time around. For once, I was like, “You know what?? I get it. This totally warms and melts my heart into a million pieces.” Idk, something cute and maybe more maternal?? within me just spoke :’pp
I STILL don’t think Stephanie should have a baby, especially when she has no job, no stable relationship, etc. I also kind of don’t want anymore babies lololol (first Jesse and Becky with Pamela, and of course, there’s already Tommy); there’s already so many people I have to keep up with on this show haha. But if that’s where they want to go, then hey, I’m glad the surrogate’s Kimmy and not someone else.
Needed more Stephanie and Jimmy. Or just Jimmy tbh.
When I saw Vicky, I gasped out loud. Could NOT believe she’s back, even though I already knew she’d be back/had a strong feeling she would be (idk if it was announced).
I DO NOT want the older guys (aka Danny, Jesse, Becky, and Joey) back for the majority of next season. It just seems like whenever the older guys come back it’s more of a static “callback” than actual progression of the episode/overall storyline. I enjoyed a lot of this season because there was less of the older guys; vice versa, I much more enjoyed seeing the older cast members visit this time because there wasn’t so much of them around. So yeah, reaaaalllly hoping we don’t see that much more of the older cast during the next season (if they get a next season), since they all announced they’re going to move back to San Francisco.
On the other hand, I’d really like to see Danny and Vicky finally get a news/television show together and get married already, lol.
I do like it when the older and newer generations are well-integrated, though. The Danny, Jesse, Joey, Steve, and Fernando scene was really funny and one of my favorites. Fuller House is basically just one big fanfiction that isn’t perfectly written, but it’s pretty snappin’ close, and it’s all TRUE AND Y’ALL GET TO CLAIM IT AND CALL IT CANON!! :P :P
Like I said, glad the whole DJ x Steve thing didn’t get dragged out, but a little disappointed it wasn’t exactly, totally resolved... But it’s okay; I can live with it, for the most part. At least they’ve decided they really do love each other, got in a good kiss, and want to try to pursue a real relationship again (hopefully that doesn’t get messed up next season). Excited to see what happens when they’re finally together after the “6 months” are over huehue...
CAN YOU IMAGINE STEVE BEING A DAD AND HELPING JACKSON, MAX, AND THE REST OF THE BOYS OUT?!?!? LIKE MAYBE THEM COMING TO HIM FOR ADVICE ON “BOY/GUY STUFF” AND HIM ANSWERING ALL OF THEIR QUESTIONS AND/OR TRYING HIS BEST TO HELP THEM OH MY WORD IT WOULD BE SO CUTEEEEEEE!!!!
Happy that there wasn’t so much drama over “whether DJ would pick Matt or Steve”; I really didn’t want that plot point to drag on forever :V :V There was a lot more focus on the girls and family-interactions this time around, which I liked, even though it meant less of the adult pairings altogether.
TBH, there weren’t that many substantial main storylines or funny lines during this half of the season, imo (SHOUT OUT to that “ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM” EXCHANGE THOUGH; that scene was hilarious!!). A lot of it focused on everyday family interactions or Stephanie’s “surrogate/trying-to-get-a-baby” storyline (for those who are curious, I’d say the most we got this season was a solid on Stephanie’s storyline, and DJ and Steve confirming they will be getting together, but there really isn’t any further development toward their relationship. Also surprised they didn’t have a Christmas episode??) But tbh, I’m not mad. It was nice to not have to worry about any big romantic or whatever-else-possible drama, and just focus on seeing these characters interact with one another as a family. It was just ordinary, nice, and cheesy fun, and somehow kept me laughing and smiling like an idiot the entire time (which, in a way, is a nice nod to the original show’s purpose). This is really, really just a feel-good show. And you can see that reflected in the cast. You can just tell how comfortable everyone is with one another, and at times, you can see some real tears about to be shed during a couple of heart-felt scenes. It really is just about one big, ordinary, and optimistic family (although sometimes a bit too optimistic lol; I think they give themselves a bit of a dig about that at the end). So yeah, Fuller House is cheesy, ridiculous, lame, or whateverrrrrrrrr you want to call it, but I love it. And I enjoyed watching every episode of the entire second half of this season :’333
Please tell me they bring on Urkel as a special guest for Season 4.
Please tell me they will get a Season 4!!!! I KNOW THE SHOW SUCKS AND IS CHEESY AND LAME, BUT I AM LIVING FOR IT AND LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!!!
Yup, I think those are my thoughts for now. Might add/edit some more points in later if I can think of anything!! lol :P :P

FULLER HOUSE: SEASON 3, PART ONE - REVIEW!
*SPOILERS* EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK!
*****
Starring: Candice Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Michael Campion, Elias Harger, Soni Nicole Bringas & Juan Pablo Di Pace
Fuller House returns for its third season and the landmark 30th anniversary since the original Full House pilot in 1987. The whole gang returns for the first half of season 3 and it looks set to be the best season yet!
The main story of the first half of season 3; which comprises of the first nine episodes with the rest to be released later in the year, focuses on the on-going love triangle between DJ Fuller, her boyfriend Matt Harmon (John Brotherton) and her high school sweetheart Steve Hale (Scott Weinger).
The conflict arises as DJ struggles to come to terms with Steve’s upcoming nuptials to his girlfriend “CJ”. It is clear both DJ and Steve love each other but can’t be together due to their commitments to their other halves. However, in an effort from the show’s writers to make us root for DJ and Steve, they have turned the character of Matt into someone who doesn’t really care about DJ, which is a total character change from the person we’ve grown to care about over the past two seasons. Yet, this selfish bravado disappears in the season finale when Matt asks DJ’s sister Stephanie for her permission to marry DJ, a story which is set to reach its conclusion in the next part of season 3.
Much of the humour from season 3 comes from the incredible Juan Pablo Di Pace’s character Fernando. Fernando is a character who has been kept on the back burner for the previous two seasons, but this time Fernando is given his time to shine and forms a hilarious duo with the middle Fuller child, Max.
Some of the kids are given more mature storylines this time with Ramona having to hide the fact she has hickey from her mother Kimmy and Jackson being dumped for being too clingy, however, Jackson is introduced to new character Rocky (Landry Bender) who is a welcome addition to the Fuller House gang as she constantly finds it strange how close the Fuller family actually is, even comparing them to a cult.
Jodie Sweetin is given a very heartwarming story in the later episodes of the season when she is told that there is a possibility that she could conceive a child and takes the next step in her relationship with her boyfriend Jimmy Gibbler (Adam Hagenbuch) when he agrees to be the father of her child.
The original cast of Full House, Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin, all return for season 3, yet the four don’t appear together which is odd seeing as it’s the 30th Anniversary of the series. Hopefully, the second half of series 3 will include an actual 30th Anniversary special uniting the entire cast.
Season 3, Part One is by far the strongest season of Fuller House yet. The show has definitely helped by the more grown-up stories, the mature children and the fact that Fuller House doesn't have to rely too heavily on appearance from older cast members. It’s a show in its own right now and hopefully, Fuller House will continue to grow and expand and leave a legacy much like the original series did 30 years previously.

Saltiness
It’s pretty boring at work right now. I get headaches from looking at my computer screen too long and my butt hurts from sitting too long. I’m currently listening to Jimmy O Yang’s book How to American as some type of entertainment. Been also checking out podcasts from Asian Boss Girl. I learned that Phillip Wang from WongFu production is in a long term relationship and his girlfriend is part of the ABG trio haha. A lot of the Asian influencers/youtubers/entertainers are collaborating and I’m happy to see more Asian American representation in our media.
Current projects:
- Crocheting a pillow. My coworker (40s) crochets and has done a few complicated projects (baby clothes set, stuffed animals, etc). I’ve been looking for hobbies to fill my free time and was inspired by her. For a bit, I thought that I should be picking up more “useful” skills and thought of dropping the crochet idea. But then, I wanted to buy some decorative pillows to match the feel of my new room and thought- why not make my own? I want to crochet a pillow or beanie for Matt, as a healthy way to cope when I’m missing him. I also think I’m more meticulous and create nicer things when I intend to gift the item. It’s day 2 of crocheting and I’m 1/3 of the way complete with a pillow using single crocheting techniques. Once I feel comfortable with making consistent stitches by single crocheting, I can move onto more complicated designs.
- My room is currently a work in progress. I got rid of the furniture I didn’t want. Next is to purchase a new mattress- the one I have right now is comfortable, but I think it’s more than 15 years old and I’d like it to be more firm.
- Cleaning out the entire house
- Hiring people to paint the living room and kitchen and revamping the living room. There is way too much junk. I was extremely tired after I painted my room myself and didn’t want to go through that again lol.
Trips:
- I booked an entire house in Morro Bay for a family trip to Hearst Castle. There will be around 12 of us. It should be fun. J
- Mid-September – Hopefully will be in NY!
- End of October-Early November – London/Madrid
Socializing: I am going to happy hour tomorrow with some work friends and extended work friends to celebrate a birthday. Next week is my other work friend’s birthday so that should be nice too. I met a Teochew girl who works across the hall from me and is a fund manager. She is the same age as well- mom is from Cambodia and dad is from Vietnam. We got lunch once so far and sitting/eating with her felt pretty comfortable. We’re both shy but we understand each other because of similar backgrounds. I was the one who initiated the lunch- I was telling Matt how I felt like a guy asking a girl out. When she took long to respond to my email invite, I was slightly becoming anxious haha. She texted me a picture of a bottled drink from trader joes that I had recommended to her and said she’s trying it. I felt happy about that, because the majority of work friends (at least for me) don’t make it past surface level friendship. Making new friends really does feel like dating sometimes lol.
Lately, I’ve been feeling weird about my friendship with B. I’ve been friends with her for about a decade now as we met in high school. I think the majority of our friendship, I have been the therapist for her relationship problems. I liked feeling needed and enjoyed helping her out through tough times. She really liked that I was a rock and always there for her. I thought she was always there for me too and was dependable for the most part when I needed it. She broke up with her last boyfriend a few months ago and decided to “be single for a year”. This was the first time she made this type of statement. However, she is dating around a lot, for the fun of it I guess. She would tell guys her feelings although it is clear they do not want a relationship and she said she doesn’t want a relationship either. She goes through men quickly and becomes enamored quite quickly. We hung out a few weekends ago for hiking and I was pretty upset at the way she handled things. Initially, it was supposed to be a hangout with me and her. She suggested hiking. I asked if my friend Stephanie (who she is semi friends with) can come along, and she agreed. Then B made an entire facebook event out of this hiking event and invited 10 other people without asking me first. So I was like okay. The day before the hike, nothing was really confirmed about the time, meeting location, plans to hang out after, carpool situation etc. I had to follow up with her a few times during the week but would get submissive responses. And I’ll think, I didn’t even invite these people, and yet I’m doing the work of planning it and making sure things run smoothly -__-. Anyway, the day before, she tells me P is sick so she won’t be coming along, and says A and M are meeting at my house at 8. She also asks me the day before if she can sleep over at my house – to which I said sure, that would make organizing way easier. However, she changed plans saying that she will sleepover at her parents house because she invited her mom and sister and they’ll be joining as well. Well, the next morning, she tells me she slept over at her dates house and will be late- that she will go pick them up on the other side of town then come over. I woke up at a little before 8 because I was expecting people to show up at my house. One dropped out morning of, the other didn’t respond to any messages or calls. So I was like great… Then B was running 1.5 hours late or so, and I told her I’m not feeling it anymore. She comes to my house anyway! And she didn’t end up going to get her mom or sis because the sis didn’t pick up the phone/was still sleeping… I asked, well did you tell her a time? She couldn’t recall. So basically, of everyone she invited, none came through. I was pretty upset with her that day, one because I felt she was inconsiderate, and two because she still showed up even though I said I wasn’t feeling it anymore. That day, i drove us all the way to Malibu (that was the original plan, and I didn’t want to back out of doing that), and got myself a parking ticket because I parked next to a fire hydrant unknowingly.
After that day, I was and am still kinda salty about that. However, I treated her out for her birthday and made sure she had company (which doesn’t really matter because she had a date later that night). She left for a two week study abroad trip to Scotland two weeks ago. Maybe 3-4 days before that, our mutual friend (more so my friend) asked about a DVD that I had lent to B. I messaged her to see if she could look for it before leaving on her trip and preferably asap, before she leaves. “I’ll look for it asap” she said and I never heard back even after I sent a reminder. Her Taiwanese ex whom she was with for 2 years used to complain about her to me when they were fighting. I read through his vents recently and now I’m starting to see that side of her. Basically, she cares about her happiness above anything and she’s not very aware or considerate about how her actions affect the people who she seemingly loves or cares about. Selfish behavior but is very sweet and nice to her friends. I remember when she first got her bunny, Leo. Her and her ex were raising him. She used to say, I love Leo so much, he makes me so happy etc. However, one time, she was flying out to norcal and was in the process of moving out of her apartment and left Leo there in the emptied apartment. The landlord had to message her to get Leo out. Because she was pressed for time (bad time management, really), she called me to try to save the situation… “Connie, can you take care of Leo”. I said no. So what did she do? Leave Leo in the car for a day and a half as she made her way to the airport. Luckily he survived but that is not cool and kinda reflects how she is able to treat those that she “loves”. They say people come and go, and I’d be sad if she really does exit out of my life as I’m pretty integrated into her family as her “best friend”. I don’t know.

I never thought that I would have seen the day to interview one of the most beautiful and talented women that had mega hits from the 80’s up to the early 2000’s. This remarkable young woman is the first female artist to have her first three solo releases to hit #1 on the Billboard. Karyn White made a huge splash on the music scene with her female anthem “Superwoman” in which was produced and written by Babyface and LA Reid. In this article you will learn about how Ms. White was discovered and what she got coming up for all KW Hearts out there.
Karyn White was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in LA was amazing for her. “Here in LA you get to see so much, and you can dream your dreams and have them come true“. At an young age Karyn (she is the baby of the family) would often imitate her older sisters, one was a dancer and the other one was a singer with a voice that reminded her of Natalie Cole. With such influences in her family Karyn combine her family’s multi-talents into one big mega star package. At the age of 16 she auditioned for a group called Legacy. During that time Karyn participated in beauty pageants, talent shows, and continue her road to auditions.
Q&A With Karyn White
Rena Marie: Karyn what kind of impact has music made in your life?
Karyn White: Wow! Music is my life. It gave me purpose, music is healing and therapeutic. Music allows me to dream and make them come true. Music took me out of the hood, and gave me opportunities to travel around the world to experience different things.
Rena Marie: Who are some of your musical influences?
Karen White: Back in my day I often listen to and watched Stephanie Mills, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Prince, James Brown, Donna Summers, and Al Green.
Rena Marie: I can truly say that you are an artist who actually embodied the sounds and dance of those who influenced you. I can hear Stephanie Mills, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross in your voice and I can see the sassy choreography of Donna Summers.
Karyn White: Thank you oh wow! I learned the songs and choreography from the Wiz (both Diana Ross and Stephanie Mills versions) and performed them at talent shows.
Rena Marie: Who discovered you?
Karyn White: Initially I would have to say Don Cornelius from Soul Train.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Rena Marie: Was there a special event that took place for Don Cornelius to notice your talent?
Karyn White: At the time I was 17 years old, just graduated from high school when I auditioned for Don Cornelius and his artist O’Bryan. I performed a song and a routine from a soundtrack and they loved it. I was on tour with O’Bryan who was an opening act for the group Cameo. This was my first professional paid show.
Rena Marie: Have you ever done or considered doing Broadway Shows?
Karyn White: That is actually on my bucket list of things to do. However in high school I have been in plays. One play I will never forget is me playing the role of Dorothy from the Wiz. I was the first person to make it professionally out of the group in high school. I went to school with Bentley Kyle Evans the creator of the Martin Show and The Jamie Foxx show, and the beautiful and talented actress Wendy Raquel Robinson. Wendy and I took dance classes together, she is an amazing dancer. So shout out to Wendy and Bentley!
Rena Marie: You have memorable albums that people still listen to today. Which album is your favorite?
Karyn White: It will have to be my first album self-titled Karyn White. With all of the talented and beautiful hard working artists in Los Angeles, this album broke the barrier and became a huge success. I worked extremely hard and it paid off. So yes my first album is my favorite.
Rena Marie: I remember some of your number 1 hits from backyard parties at family functions, but of course I had to do a little research to see if you had any other songs that I may not recall hearing. For the first time I heard a Duet you had with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. How was it recording with Babyface?
Karyn White: Yes! “Love Saw It” is the name of the song that I did with Babyface. This is actually my favorite song because I was singing in my lower register. It was awesome working with Babyface. He has incredible talent.
Rena Marie: Have you worked with Babyface on any other song or album?
Karyn White: Yes! Babyface and LA Reid produced and wrote 6 songs on my first album self titled Karyn White. They wrote “Super Woman”, “Romantic”, “Secret Rendezvous”, and so forth. They also produced songs for Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown in which I sung background for them and other artists.
Rena Marie: Did you actually started off as a background singer?
Karyn White: I started out as a background singer. I sung background for Bobby Brown on “Tender Roni”, “Every Little Step”, and I sung on Johnny Gill’s “My My My”….I sung background for a lot of artists back then.
Rena Marie: I am glad that you came out from the shadows because your voice is so amazing.
Karyn White: Thank you! You know what they say the cream rises to the top!
Rena Marie: I know that a lot of artists change their music as the next generation of musical talents evolve the creativity of sounds. How do you feel about music today, and will you change your music to follow the music trend of today?
Karyn White: I listen to artists of today such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Beyonce who is an amazing talent, Childish Gambino, Janelle Monae, Jhene Aiko, and J. Cole. As far as keeping up with the trends I want my music to stay true to me. I am bringing back the funk. The 60’s and 70’s to me had the best music, and that is evident today because artists of today are sampling music from those eras. Kendrick Lamar sampled the Isley Brothers and he brought back the funk. I feel the younger generation will appreciate funk music.
I am currently working on my new movie and soundtrack “Gale & The Storm”. After listening to Childish Gambino who is of this generation of young artist bringing back the funk in his music. Childish Gambino inspired me to keep true to myself and to bring back the funk. “Gale & The Storm” is loosely about me. Gale the main character was a funk singer who took a step back from music at the pinnacle of her career. I will always stay true to me and I don’t want to be fake about my music. People will listen to it and for those that don’t listen to it they just don’t. I know that this generation will enjoy the music based off of the funk music that Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Janelle Monae are bringing back.
Rena Marie: I must say that you are beautiful and have not aged a bit. What are Karyn’s secret to your youthful appearance?
Karyn White: I always tell young people to take care of themselves and be mindful of what you put into your body. The food industry has changed and now we are subjected to genetically modified foods. I always say stop eating fake food. Take care of your body with proper diet and exercise.
Rena Marie: I am sure you heard about artists that had mental break down due to lack of rest or just events that took place that was a bit more that they could juggle at the time. You were at the height of your career at the time you went on hiatus, what was going on at the time?
Karyn White: At the time I was married to Terry Lewis of the Mega producing duo Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam (responsible for a lot of artists music hits such as Michael and Janet Jackson, New Edition, Johnny Gill, Raja Nee, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Klymaxx, Chaka Khan, Alexander Oneal, Cherrelle, Vanessa Williams, Ralph Tresvant, just to name a few). During that time Terry and I we were the first Jay-Z and Beyonce because we were a superstar couple. People looked up to us and Terry was a great guy, a great husband. We had our daughter Ashley and my mom passed away. So with all this going on I was not being appreciative of my blessings. I never turned to drugs or alcohol, but I hurt myself by not appreciating everything that was coming my way. I had a good man, a beautiful career especially with my first album, a beautiful baby girl, and before Terry and I broke up we had just built a 30k sq foot mansion. I got into interior decorating and realty, I would buy homes decorate them and sell them. Every two years I would buy a home, fix it up, and flip them. I was flipping homes up to when the market crashed in the year 2000. I went on to dating a younger man who had the dreams of becoming the next Kanye West or Jay-Z. This relationship was not a good one due to the fact that this man came from the “microwave” generation. He thought that he could do the minimum work to get the great payday. I would say the good thing about him was that he helped me find my swag, but he was very narcissistic. Thank God I never spiraled out of control, instead I channeled that energy into realty, interior design, and creating a path for my comeback.
Rena Marie: Now that you are coming out with a new movie and soundtrack dedicated to funk music, Will you be coming out with a new album? Who are you looking forward to working with?
Karyn White: I am definitely planning on working on a new album. I have spoken with Ralph Tresvant from the group New Edition and we will be working on something together. I have not reached out to other people yet, but I will have a star studded album in the works.
Rena Marie: Speaking of Ralph Tresvant who is my heart throb from back in the day, recently New Edition had a 3 day mini movie series about their road to stardom. What do you think about their biopic movie?
Karyn White: I must say they did a real good job. Especially the young man that played as Ralph, he did such an incredible job, all of the cast did a marvelous job. When I spoke to Ralph he stated that the actor that played him was “Playing as me a little too hard…lol”. They were very pleased with the outcome of the movie.
Rena Marie: Do you see a Karyn White Biopic coming?
Karyn White: That would be awesome if someone actually come up with a Biopic about me, but for now I want to put out more work and make my comeback part of my musical milestone before considering a biopic.
Rena Marie: Anything you would like for people to know about what is next for Karyn White?
Karyn White: I am back! Be sure to go to my website karynwhite.me to get the lastest updates on music, tours, and so much more. Be on the lookout for my new movie and soundtrack “Gale & The Storm”. I love you all!
Sidenote: Karyn White had a Red Carpet affair on 10/12/17 for her new movie premier in Sacramento, CA. Be sure to go to her website karynwhite.me for more info on how to get the funkalicious soundtrack and the movie Gale & The Storm.
Karyn White- Super Woman to Seize the Day I never thought that I would have seen the day to interview one of the most beautiful and talented women that had mega hits from the 80's up to the early 2000's.
