Having dinner with your ex is an awkward event, especially if it's your own kid who asked for the event to take place. Yn can't say no to her son, whom she hasn't been with for almost 15 years; it's the least she can do for him. As she got ready, the boys waited for her downstairs as they watched a show on the TV. A doorbell rang just after she went downstairs. She opened the door and met the eyes of the man who is not only the father of her children but also the guy she still deeply loves and cares about despite being apart for more than a decade. They got in his car and drove to the restaurant. The car ride was filled with the boys playfully teasing each other as she looked at the rear mirror. She was met with a scene she didn't think could be possible after all these years. Her twin sons are playfully bantering as Heeseung hums to the tune of the song playing on the radio. It felt like a family enjoying the weekend and having dinner together. A complete family she had wished she could have fought for in the past.

They stepped into the restaurant and sat at their table. The boys were busy looking at the menu while the two tried to avoid each other's glances. As the waiter got their orders and, after awhile, came out with their food. They peacefully ate while the boys shared stories while they were in the camp. She can see that the boys indeed have a bond with each other despite being apart for such a long time. It pains her that this could have been their reality if things had turned out okay. It was time for dessert, and Heeseung excused himself to go to the restroom, which she quickly followed as she instructed the boys to wait for them. As she found him, she quickly grabbed his arm and asked him if she could talk to him in a private area.

"What do you want us to talk about?" he asked. "I think we should tell them; I can't bear waiting any longer to see them not know about their situation, she responded. Heeseung gave her a reassuring smile and said, "Okay, if that's what you want, then we can tell them. They deserve to know about it." — "Thank you. We should wait and tell them when we arrive in my place since we are still in public, to which he nodded and agreed. They got back to the table, and the boys were just talking as they saw their parents. She told them that her and Ni-ki's dad would tell them about something. The ride back was silent as the boys felt nervous for what was about to happen.

"So, what do the both of you want to tell us?" Jungwon asked as they all sat on the sofa. "Okay, me and Heeseung have been hiding something. I know this might come as a surprise and if you two are angry or feel betrayed by the both of us, its completely understandable. Jungwon and Ni-ki, the both of two are twins. Ni-ki, I understand if you feel hatred towards me. I been nothing but an useless mom to you. I failed to give you the right to experience to have a mother. I as your mother would like to apologize deeply. I know my apology doesn't make up for the 15 years but I hope you know that I always have you in my mind. I prayed everyday that you and your dad are safe. That you're eating well and growing into a respectfully man. I'm always proud of you and I'm grateful to be your mother." as she spoke Ni-ki cant help his eyes to tear up. He finally found his mom, the woman for whom he had longed for a long time. He can finally have someone he can call 'Mom', or someone who will shower him with affection. The day had come, and he was the happiest he had been for the longest time. "Can I hug you?" he spoke to her, and she opened her arms as the boy hugged his mom. "I've been wishing to feel your hug for the longest time. Whatever reason you and dad have, you can just explain to us next time. I just want to hug right now. Also, does this mean I can call you 'Mom' and taste your meals?" the boy finally looked at his mom, who shared the same tearful eyes as she looked at him: "Yes, Sweetheart. You can call me 'Mom, and I will cook you anything that your heart desires. Anything for my baby." as she placed a kiss on his forehead.

As the scene unfolds in front of Jungwon. He can't help but look at Heeseung, who is sitting near him. His dad is within arms reach; he can't believe he can finally meet him. He got up and hugged him tightly. "I can't believe I can finally hug you, Dad, he said while the older male hugged him tighter. "Me too, Kid. Me and your mom want to apologize about everything. The both of you don't deserve this but we can't undo the past anymore. Let me make for years I wasn't there for the both of you." Heeseung replied, "Thank you for telling us. As Ni-ki said, just explain to us next time. I want to be with you, I really want to be close to you." he said as Heeseung caressed his hair and placed a kiss on top of his head while hugging him. The day ended on a good note. There were many emotions poured out, and the four of them hugged together. The family is finally complete.

I feel like there's a lot of people who aren't up to date w qJaiden lore so they don't realize what's happening today so-- QUICK UPDATE on shit that's going down in the qJaiden world if your POV tends to be another streamer and you're a little confused;

As some ppl might already know, qjaiden was approached by Cucurucho with a question of "What would make you happy?" and she responded, protecting the eggs. keeping the eggs safe. Cucurucho said essentially that he could give her this, but there was no going back. And when Jaiden asked if it would save the eggs, he said Maybe.

And since she has nothing left to lose (at this time, there really was /no one/) she decided she'd do it because there was no other choice. Someone had to. So she's been going around doing tasks like gathering items and tools and armor. Her most recent quest was to clear a dungeon with adventure partners, which she did successfully.

Then basically Jaiden IRL travelled for a week and the big lore thing about what was gonna happen AFTER that was put on hold. We've essentially been waiting for a while to see what the result of this is going to be considering Jaiden held up her end of the deal, and Cucurucho hasn't.

Then, three days ago on the last debate, Jaiden said she was /most likely/ going to stream the Big Lore thing on Saturday. She didn't know what it was, but the admins had been cooking and needed time to prepare and FINALLY its done.

COINCIDENTALLY, this is happening on the SAME DAY that Cellbit was told to follow a blue bird, to accompany a 'her', and gather evidence. And, for those who really don't know, qJaiden is commonly associated with birds, Blue Birds specifically, thanks to her pet bird Ari.

There's also been a lottt of concerns about qJaiden going missing since the wedding, since she seems to be narratively mirroring qCell (something he commented on himself awhile back). So, everyone's a bit on edge for what's about to happen today.

Was It A Mistake - Part 5

Pairing: Bucky x Fem Reader Chapter Summary: Bucky watches some of the videos (you will see a few) and is finally able to talk to the reader. All flashbacks in italics. Warnings: Angst, Cursing

Video 1~

Bucky is pacing in his room before a knock sounds. He answers and quickly drags Nat into the room and closes the door.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Barnes. You're acting like a psychopath!" Nat asks annoyed as Bucky starts pacing again.

"Sorry, I'm nervous. I'm going to ask Y/N to marry me, and I need your help to pick out the perfect ring for her," he says.

Nat stares at him. Bucky waits for her reaction and looks confused when she looks down at the floor for a moment before sighing.

"Are you really sure you want to do that? I mean... I don't think it's a good idea," Nat said sitting on the edge of the bed.

Bucky looks at her surprised by her words and crosses his arms in annoyance.

"Why not? We've been together for a long time and we're happy. Why shouldn't I take the next step with the woman I love?" he asked. Nat pats the spot next to her and gives Bucky a sympathetic look.

"Are you sure she's as happy as you?" Nat asked.

Bucky's eyes widen,"What do you mean? Has she said something?" He asks getting nervous.

Nat turned toward Bucky slightly, "Look, you can't tell anyone, especially Y/N, but she told me that she was thinking of breaking up with you. She was tired of all the extra stress being with you causes. She mentioned the nightmares, and how sometimes you aren't emotionally available to her. I was kinda surprised because she always seemed so happy, but apparently she isn't."

Bucky gasped in shock and immediately tears start to fall from his eyes, "She said all that? She-she doesn't want to be with me?" He asked, to which Nat nodded silently.

" Of course a woman as perfect as her wouldn't want a monster like me, who has more issues than the New York fucking Post," Bucky says burying his face in his hands.

Nat hugs him from the side, and Bucky leans into her shoulder and just cries. 

"It's going to be ok, I promise. I'll be here for you every step of the way ok? But you have to promise not to tell ANYONE that I said something. Honestly, I wouldn't bring it up at all. Maybe start creating some distance between you, you know?" she advises.

Bucky just cries harder in her shoulder and nods in agreement.

Video 2~

You are sitting on your bed looking at something on your phone when Nat walks in.

"Hey, what's wrong? Your text sounded like you were upset," Nat asked.

You nodded getting emotional immediately, "I think Bucky's going to break up with me," you said before choking on a sob.

Nat immediately walked over and wrapped you in a tight hug. "Why do you think he that?" she asks.

You sniff and pull away from her, wiping your face with your hands, "Well, he's become very distant with me. He looks at me like I'm not even there. He barely even talks to me anymore, and he hasn't been sleeping in our bed. I don't know what I could've done wrong. We were fine! We were happy! I thought-" You stop and swallow another sob, "I thought we were going to get married and have a life together."

Nat runs her hand over your hair to calm you down as you start to sob again, "It'll be ok. Listen to me," she says as she turns your face toward hers, "You are a strong independent woman. You don't need a man to be happy. Sure, you love him, but it will be his loss if he breaks it off with you. In fact if he doesn't change his behavior, beat him to the punch and break up with him!" Nat says.

You blink and shake your head, "I don't want to break up with him. Maybe I should talk to Steve, or ask Bucky what's going on," you say as you start to get off the bed.

"No!" Nat shouts, startling you. "Don't you think Steve would be on Bucky's side on this? Whatever is bothering Bucky, he probably already told Steve and Steve is loyal to a fault. He would definitely lie to you. He would tell you to talk to Bucky so he wouldn't have to say anything, but we both know Barnes is stubborn and won't tell you what's wrong," she says.

You think about her words and nod in agreement, "I'll give him another week to see if things change, and then if they don't, maybe I will just end it since he doesn't want to be with me," you say sadly. Nat just nods in agreement with a small smile on her face.

Video 3~

You walk up to Steve in the gym as he's punching the punching bag. "Hey Steve, can we talk for a sec?" you ask.

Steve turns and gives you a small smile and nods, stepping away from the bag, "Sure, what's up?" he asks out of breath.

You take a deep breath to get your nerves. You think about what Nat told you, and you wanted to see if her theory is correct.

"Well, Bucky has become extremely distant with me over the past 2 weeks. He barely speaks 3 words to me, he doesn't sleep in our bed, and there is zero emotion in his eyes when he looks at me. Has he said anything to you that might be bothering him?" you ask.

Steve's eyebrows went up in shock, "No, not at all. You should talk to him about it though. Maybe he had a nightmare that he is having a hard time getting over. You know he shuts down sometimes," Steve said.

Your heart broke when he mentioned you should speak to Bucky, "Oh, ok. You're sure he hasn't mentioned anything to you?" you ask.

Steve shakes his head, "Nope. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I really suggest you just talk to him," he said.

You nod and exit the gym, and take out your phone to dial. 

"Hey Nat. You were right about Steve. Pushed me right off to speak with Bucky. Maybe I should just call this what it was. We were just better as friends," you said before going into the elevator.

You're sitting in the living room of the Brooklyn apartment, drinking a cup of coffee and reading a book. When Steve brought you here, you were in awe.

“Steve, where did you get this place?” You ask as you bring your bag into the living room. It was a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment. It was homey, it was perfect.

Steve smiled at you. “I bought it few years ago. Sometimes I need some alone time to regroup. Hard to do in the tower, so I bought an apartment in Brooklyn. You're the only person who knows about it now, besides me.”

You smile at Steve and walk up and give him a hug. “Well I really appreciate this, and I promise I won’t overstay my welcome. I just need to clear my mind and get away from the drama," you say as you pull away. Steve guides you to the master bedroom.

“You can stay here as long as you need. The bed is pretty comfortable. I have cable, but also a lot of DVDs in this drawer. There is a small store down the street for food, and a lot of cafes and restaurants in the area. And of course you know I am just a phone call away.”

“Thank you Steve, really.”

He gives you another hug. “Don’t mention it. Just try not to think about it. I will start compiling evidence and then we will go from there.”

You've enjoyed the peace and quiet, but you can’t stop thinking about what happened. Also, you really miss Bucky. He was your best friend, even when you were dating. You hated being apart. You just wish he wasn’t being controlled by Nat. What were you going to do about her? How would you be able to work with her after this?

You had a lot to consider after all was said and done. You hoped that Steve had enough evidence to prove to Bucky you were right. You still don't know what will happen with the two of you, but you can't think of that now.

Suddenly your phone rang. You looked at the Caller ID which read “Steve”. You smile and pick up, “Hey Stevie, how is everything going?”

“Hey, Y/N. He knows the truth, saw the videos, and we got more that I think you should see. He really wants to see you, but I just wanted to check with you first.”

You remained silent, as thoughts went through your head. Words became non-existent.

“Y/N?” Steve called.

You cleared your throat. “Um.. yeah. I-I’m here. Where does he want to meet?” You ask, your voice shaking from nerves.

“Are you ok if he comes to the apartment? Or do you want a public place?" Steve asks.

"Well if there is something for me to see then I think being in the apartment is better for privacy."

"I will give him the address, but are you sure you're okay with this? Do you want me to be there?” Steve asked, and you hear the concern in his voice.

“No, it’s okay Steve. We should probably talk alone. We have a lot of things to discuss. Give him the address,” you say, some confidence in your voice. 

“Okay. Good luck!” Steve says before hanging up.

You close your book and think for a moment. You were going to be alone with Bucky. You were going to be able to put everything out on the table. He knows the truth now. But can you forgive him so quickly? He hurt you so bad, but you hurt him too. The lack of communication caused so much trouble.

You had to get ready. You knew Bucky would come running as soon as he had that address. You were going to be ready for him, and for the discussion of your lives.

Bucky parked outside the apartment building. He couldn’t believe it when Steve told him about the apartment. Especially since it was in their old neighborhood. He walks into the building and straight up the steps to the 3rd floor.

When he walks up to the correct door, he has to take a deep breath. He's never been so nervous in his long life. He knocks and waits, his heart pounding as he hears your footsteps coming toward the door.

You open the door the reveal a somewhat disheveled Bucky. You could see he hasn’t slept in awhile, just by the exhaustion on his face and the dark circles under his eyes. It makes your heart break, slightly. You try to keep your face as emotionless as possible. Your goal is to get through this without crying.

“Hi,” you say quietly. Bucky looks at you and can’t help but admire how beautiful you look. His heart continues to pound in his chest, but now it’s because of the sight of you. God, he's missed you. 

“Hi,” he says. “Can I come in?”

You nod and step back, allowing him access, closing the door behind him. Bucky stands in the kitchen, looking a little out of place. The silence hanging over both of you like a thick blanket. It was suffocating.

“Have a seat in the living room. Did you want a drink?” You ask hoping to improve the awkwardness.

Bucky shakes his head no, so you both walk into the living room. You sit on the love seat and wrap your feet under you, and Bucky sits on the couch adjacent to you. 

“Thank you for allowing me to come. I know I'm probably the last person you want to see.” Bucky says, looking down at the floor.

You look at him and wait for his eyes to meet yours. Still not showing any emotion, you say, “You’re not the last person, but I can't argue that you are high on that list,” you say honestly.

“I get it. I hurt you, in more ways than one. And…” Bucky stops and sighs. "Before we get into my long winded apology, I think there's something you should see," Bucky says, taking the IPad out of his backpack. He pulls up the video of the day Nat told him you were going to break up with him, and hands it to you allowing you to watch.

You try to keep your composure as you watch and listen to Nat lie to Bucky and break his heart. The anger you feel for Natasha Romanoff is palpable. When the video is done you look at him trying not to cry, but the tears are threatening.

“I… I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m sorry I ever listened to her and didn’t talk to you. I’m sorry I distanced myself and broke your heart. And I'm so fucking sorry for dating her. That was the second biggest mistake I've made in this situation. I can't believe I let her manipulate me so easily. I-" he sighs, "There is nothing else for me to say, except I’m sorry.”

Tears were now flowing freely down your cheeks. A part of you wanted to hold him in your arms and hold him while he cries, but a bigger part of you is still angry. “I understand that you’re sorry Bucky, but I don’t know how to move past this. I want to, but I’m so fucking pissed at you! Then again I guess I also fell into her web of lies, so you can't take 100% of the blame. She did the same thing to me. I fell for it and allowed her to talk me into breaking up with you. I handed you to her a fucking silver platter. You should be pissed at me just as much as I'm pissed at you!" you said covering your face.

Bucky kneels in front of you and pulls your hands away, "I saw the videos between you and Nat, and I'm sorry to say there are more videos between me and Nat that will fuel this flame even more. But I'm not pissed at you. I was at the time because of her lies, but now I know it was all her. Nat's lucky I haven't strangled her with my metal arm, yet," he says darkly.

"I guess I can't really be pissed at you for believing her when I did the same thing, but I am fucking pissed that you started to date her! You took her to our spot like it meant nothing to you! Like I meant nothing to you!" you said pushing him away.

"You have every right. I honestly can't tell you what I was thinking. I knew it was all wrong, and that I would never care for her like I do with you, but she made me feel better. She was that shoulder to cry on and the voice of reason in my head at the time. I latched on because I needed that. I'm so sorry, baby. I have no excuse for the restaurant, I was just an asshole," he says sniffing back his tears.

"A giant asshole," you say as you start to calm down.

He nods, "The biggest asshole in the world," he says.

"The universe," you counter making you both lightly laugh through your tears.

Bucky sits back up and cautiously takes your hands in his, "There are many things I'm sorry for, and many things I regret, but I want you to know, I need you know, that I never stopped loving you. Not even for a second. I kept hoping you would turn around and ask to get back together, but it didn't happen. It's my fault. All of this is my fault. I should have spoken to you the moment Nat came to me with that break up talk. I failed to protect you, and I'm sorry," he says softly.

"It's not all your fault, Buck. Again she lied to us both. I should've confronted you about why you were so distant the moment I noticed. I was so scared to lose you, and I let you go anyway. I never stopped loving you either," you said leaning your forehead against his. 

"I love you, Y/N," Bucky said.

You take a deep breath, squeezing his hands, "I love you too, Bucky," you say.

You both stay like this more awhile, just enjoying the silence and closeness. The internal peace after saying what you needed to say.

“Where do we go from here?” you ask, sniffing.

Bucky kisses your forehead and then puts his back against yours. “Well, I think first we need to confront Nat, together. Then… I don’t know. It’s up to you if you want to try again. I will go with whatever you decide. I know I don’t deserve another chance, but god, I want another chance. I love you so much, Y/N. It’s you. It’s always been you, and even when I was with Nat, all I thought about was you.”

You pull Bucky close and look into his eyes. “I… I think I will need some time, but… I don’t think I can survive without you in my life. It hurts too much.” You say, giving him a small smile.

Bucky returns it. “Baby, I would rather die than not have you in my life.” 

Suddenly you both bring your faces closer and smash your lips together. The kiss is full of urgency and passion. You allow him entrance into your mouth and drink in the taste of him. God, you missed him. You knew you wouldn’t be able to just pick up where you left off, but maybe with some time and communication you will make it.

When the need for air became too much, you both pulled back, panting. You allowed him to kiss you all over your face and neck. A part of you wanted to keep going and feel all of him, but the bigger part is telling you, no.

“Buck, we can’t,” you say pushing him away slightly.

He looks at you with all the love in his heart. “I know. I couldn’t help it. I've just missed you.”

You giggle and wrap your arms around his neck. “Well you have much to make up for before we go there. But, we also have to come up with a plan for Nat.”

Bucky nods, “I’ll give Steve the all clear sign, so he can come over. He said he's going to help us.”

You nod and watch as he reaches in his pocket for his phone. After texting Steve, he brings his eyes back to yours. Running his hands on every part of you body you allow, trying to re-familiarize. It had been too long since he held you like this. 

He looks at your face, and sees your brows furrowed. “What’s wrong?” He asks, concerned.

You look at him, softening your features. “How're we going to work next to her after all of this?” You ask.

Bucky sits back on his heels. He hadn’t thought about that. “Lets take this one step at a time. I don’t want to make any decisions until everything is said and done.”

You nod, knowing he was right. You pull him closer and press kiss on his forehead. “I love you," you say.

Bucky looks at you and feels his heart swell. He can’t believe his luck that he was getting a second chance with you. 

“I love you too. So much, and I'm going to prove it to you every day for the rest of my life.” You gave a full smile that made butterflies fly in his stomach and his heart flutter. 

You were his, and he was yours. No one else mattered in that moment. But you knew the road ahead was not going to be easy. You didn’t know how far Nat was willing to lie to save her skin, or to what lengths she was willing to go to keep Bucky. But for now, in that small apartment in Brooklyn, while waiting for Steve, you both enjoyed your little bubble together.

Part 4 / Part 6

So while they are happy and kissy now, the reader still knows that things are not perfect between her and Bucky. But after being away from him for so long, she is allowing herself a moment to enjoy him again. Now we get to the climax of the story... what plan do they have for Nat? feedback is appreciated.

In search of safety

I haven't gotten around to writing the royalty update on my last lore bit, but I wanted to start on where my oc comes into play. Not entirely self-insert, this AU has storytelling background based in very old role playing from upwards of 10 years ago.

Here are some notes on how this pairing came to be:

This AU takes place after an alternate ending to the Canterlot Wedding (not my writing, the original rp was not something I had any say in at the time. The following is based off very old Tenebris Dawn forum posts) -Cadance and Shining Armor did not stay together after Queen Chrysalis's takeover. Shining failed to rise to the occasion in her defeat and was quickly denied at the altar. Cadance was disappointed in how things played out, and sought out solitude after the traumatic experience. Shining Armor left to stay with Twilight after these events.

-Twilight was tired of Shining's depressed freeloading and pushed him to socialize around ponyville and find some friends. Word had gotten around as to why he was here, and it quickly turned away a lot of potential companions. He did find his place with Big Mac, Spike and Discord after awhile.

-Feather Blade originated in the Everfree forest. (her lore has changed to match her form as a pegasus but this was all written in 2014) She was (possibly) left at Zecora's hut as a newborn and grew up learning the ways of the forest from a very young age. Made friendly with the timber wolves, understands many basic to advanced survival skills, and gained a well fitted immune system for life in the woods.

-Being somepony detached from petty pony drama, Feather was completely unaware of Shining's late status and relationship history. He was enamored by her lifestyle, being someone who grew up in a more upper class environment. They bonded after many of his attempts to flatter her, and eventually he took to staying in her hut more often than staying with Twilight.

-Feather didn't initially have a proper understanding of romance, but she knew what emotional abuse was. (was held captive as a slave "lover" by a stallion with a darkened heart, also directly based off 2014 rps) Whatever Shining was, he wasn't a threat or a burden. -Shining has done his best to keep Feather protected, but hasn't had much strength since getting bitten by some strange creature. Feather was able to collect some supplies to keep them both healthy shortly before the hut was overrun. She keeps him medicated, and no infection has taken root. They're both currently on the move to find shelter and refuge in a safer area of Equestria.

-Feather and Shining have only briefly made contact with Discord prior to him taking off with Fluttershy. Nopony else knows their whereabouts. The two of them have avoided most populated areas in trying to steer clear of infected. Feather has been able to take sky watch for short periods of time to see if areas of civilization are safe, but quickly returns to stay with Shining. So far their travels have yielded no reward, but hope is not lost.

Politics makes the most sense to me because it's an election year, she leaked plans for a disinformation infomercial, and she's still trying to get in with the Democratic establishment. (I've noticed that she's moved away from the White House - maybe her narc rage can't handle the Bidens declining her self-invitation for a ride home on Air Force One after The Queen's funeral and then leaking about it.)

Met Gala is interesting because she usually starts PR-fishing for an invite in February/March (usually once the dust settles from the Oscars) and that didn't happen this year. She was probably too focused on the ARO launch to notice. And as I noted yesterday, the Met Gala this year is on May 6, which is also Archie's birthday; maybe she finally realized that talking about always being away isn't a good look for someone who keeps hyping herself up as a mom?

By the way, we haven't gotten any PR yet for Archie's birthday. Last year was a big thing with the coronation and she was using the kid's birthday as a negotiating tactic. But this year? On an arguably much more milestoney birthday? Nada, which is strange because it's not what she usually does.

And then last one, her memoirs. She hasn't shopped them since October 2023, so the opportunity is ripe to bring those up again.

(Also, reviewing the compilation again, I noticed she was manifesting an Audible partnership in October 2023 again as well. I bet that's when her contract with Spotify ended and she started shopping Archetypes for a new host. She wanted Audible but ended up with a company no one has heard of.)

A Decent Proposal

After work, Arnold went straight to his local suit shop, J.R. Henry, to look at their assortment of suits and shirts.

He had been a local customer for years, but only had the budget to shop in their clearance section. Luckily, the shop keep, Wallace Henry, didn't mind one bit.

Mr. Wallace, as he was known, saw Arnold as his regular and he loved having him as such. He was much more polite and patient than his other clientele.

So when Arnold walked through those big mahogany doors, Mr. Wallace was quick to greet him, his measuring tape safely secured in hand per usual.

“Arnold,” the older man cheered before he hugged him. Arnold laughed and hugged him back, with a back tap to boot.

“Hello, Mr. Wallace,” he greeted him.

“Well, hello to you too. Long time no see. I've missed having you in.”

“Sorry, life has just been a little crazy for me lately.”

“Oh, you don't say. What's been troubling you?”

“I was recently diagnosed with general anxiety disorder, so it’s been a bit hard to cope with. I'm trying to work around it or with it…whichever is better for me.”

“Damn, that's tough. Sorry to hear that, Arnold. My Lorraine has anxiety disorder too. It used to cripple her, until she got on that new fangled anxiety medication the doctors are shilling now. Maybe you should try that.”

“Thanks, but I'm trying to handle this with meditation and supplements. I'm not really a big medicine guy.”

“Completely understandable. Just a suggestion. Now, what can I help you with today? Need a new suit for a night on the town with the misses?”

He laughed.

“No, no. Nothing like that. I have a big presentation at work and I want to look nice for our new clients.”

And Alondra…mostly for Alondra, but he didn't need to know that.

“Oh, I see. Who's this new client, if you don't mind me asking?”

“Truly Brands. They’re considering dropping Loware to work with us.”

“Really?! They must be under new management because Ernesto Rivera and Marshall Lowe have been fighting over that account for decades. Marshall made a very lucrative deal with Roman True. Why would Truly Brands want to break from Loware?”

“Because Martin Lowe is nothing like his father and is sinking his father's stock shares and reputation with his ridiculous ideas, one being charging Rowena True, daughter of Roman, more for their lackluster software. Meanwhile, Alondra and the rest of Rivaware have strived to make a better, more innovative and cost effective product for our clientele, which is more than tempting to Rowena who is tired of dealing with Martin and his cronies.”

“I see. I always knew it was a bad idea to let Martin take over Loware. I never liked that bastard,” Mr. Wallace huffed, making Arnold snicker. “I'm not surprised that Alondra put you on the account to impress Rowena then.”

“She actually didn't. I reached out to Rowena with a deal that's hard to refuse. She just needs the rest of the board on board with this deal, hence our presentation tomorrow.”

“Wow, well look at you…taking initiative. I'm sure Alondra and Ernesto are very impressed with you.”

He smirked.

“Well, I haven't been the top seller for the past 10 quarters for nothing,” he bragged.

“Fair enough. Fair enough. Well, follow me. We got some new suits on the sale rack,” he droned on before Arnold stopped him.

“Actually, I wanted to look at the regular racks,” he clarified, making Mr. Wallace turn around, eyes wide. “I got a commission check today and I think getting a new suit would be putting it to good use. After all, my dedication to Rivaware is unmatched.”

And his dedication to Alondra, of course.

“Well, alright big spender,” Mr. Wallace teased. “I got some new suits I think you'd like. Since you got this new look going on. Don't think I didn't notice. You look sharp, Mack.”

“Thank you,” he chirped before he followed the old man to the center of the store.

One Thumb Down

“Beto, you should go back and check on Neveah. I can finish up here and close up for you,” Juan suggested, as he observed his manager still solemnly looking out the glass doors.

He had just been standing there, with a glazed look in his eye, while he was nervously biting on his thumb.

It was a nervous tick he had since graduating from thumb sucking, per Mama Millie’s manipulation with hot pepper paste as he got older.

Yes, the taste stung, but he learned that just nibbling on his thumb still did the trick without burning his tongue off.

And it did bring him the same comfort. So that's what he was doing now, as his mind kept racing about you.

“No, no. Juan, it's your day off,” he said, still looking out to the horizon behind the front doors. “I hate that I even had to call you.”

“Beto, it's alright. I don't mind. Nev is a great young lady and you were just looking out for her.”

“I should have never let her do a maintenance request,” he moaned, before accidently biting the tip of skin by his thumbnail.

“Fuck,” he hollered, before he groaned. “God, I'm a mess."

“We do crazy things for the ones we love,” Juan responded. “Beto, I know about your little crush on Nev. I know how much she means to you. She reminds you of Gina, huh?”

Bobby paused, before turning around to face the younger man at the front desk.

“What makes you think that?” he curiously asked.

“I remember how you described Gina,” he replied. “Nev is a lot like her, personality wise. I'm not a religious person, but I do believe that sometimes we are gifted ‘angels’ if we do some good in this world. You're a good man, Beto. Maybe, Nev was sent to you by Gina.”

He softly laughed.

“I am starting to believe that actually, Juan. I learned something new about her today.”

“And what's that?”

“She's a Bjork fan…”

“Like Gina,” Juan finished for him. “Let me guess, her favorite album is Post, right?”

Bobby nodded.

“Hmmm, so I guess our theories align and have some truth to them. Nev has been blessed to you by your wife. I mean I believe it. I know how much she cared about your happiness.”

“She did,” Bobby said with a warm smile. “I miss her so much, but I'm glad to have Nev around now. Gina doesn't seem so far away when she's around.”

“So I suppose that's why you let her do the maintenance request? To spend some more time with her?”

“How did you guess?” he jokingly asked, making Juan laugh.

“You're very obvious, Beto,” he chuckled. “But I'm wondering what you're still doing here? Go back to her place and check on her. I know it's eating at you. I know you didn't want to leave her.”

“It's inappropriate for me to like her,” he huffed.

“She won't be your intern forever, Beto. Don't miss your chance. Because between you and me, I think she likes you too.”

Bobby's eyes lit up when he said that.

“You think so?”

“I see how she looks at you…the way you two interact. You two are in love. You're just too shy to see it.”

He smiled, before scratching the back of his head.

“Thanks, Juan. I needed that little talk. But as long as she's my intern, I'd like to just stay friendly. But we'll see what happens when I'm not her boss anymore. Only time can really tell.”

“But now I wonder, were you a theater kid?”

She laughed.

“Yes, I was. Guilty as charged,” she admitted, before she took her first bite of her burger. “I was not good enough to pursue past high school, but I did enjoy it a lot. How about you? Did the acting bug ever bite you?”

You were about to answer her, when you noticed that some of the mayo on the burger began to drip from her lips to her chin.

You wanted to say something, but before you could, she lowered the burger from her face a little and licked it off with her tongue.

Her very long tongue, to clarify.

You felt a little woozy when you finally noticed that too.

Had her tongue always been that long and you just never noticed?

Because now you really wanted to see what that tongue could do.

“Oh, I'm so sorry,” she softly said, with a devious twinkle in her eyes. “I'm such a messy eater. Did I get all the mayo off?”

“Yep,” you swiftly answered, your heart racing in your chest.

She laughed.

“Oh good,” she replied. “And you were right. This veggie burger is really good. The best I've had in a while.”

“Glad you like it,” you moaned, trying to forget what you just saw so your mind could go back to normal, clean thoughts as she began to eat your melt. “And to answer your question, I did do a few shows, but at my local community theater and I stopped in middle school. It just wasn't for me.”

“I see,” she said, before she took another bite of her burger and licked her lips like so.

You were on edge as you saw her do it again, and then you knew she was purposely trying to tease you.

And man, was she hot while doing so.

“Have you ever seen Rocky Picture Horrow Show?”

“Only like every year! I used to go with my ex-girlfriend. Our local theater in Rochester hosted it every year.”

“Well, I've gone every year since college. I go to this off-Broadway theater to see it and it's amazing. Maybe I can take you this year?”

“I would love that!” she chirped, before you both reached for a fry. You both laughed before Pauline gave it to you.

So you paid it forward and dipped it in ketchup before you gave it to her to eat. She grabbed your hand and moved it forward, twirling her tongue around the fry like it was cherry stem before she pulled it into her mouth.

You were quite impressed by her little trick and she smirked when she noticed your reaction.

“If you like that, you'd love what I can do with a cherry stem,” she seductively bragged, before she whispered, “And a clit.”

captain hats - obviously one them becoming the interim captain

i know a lot of you on tumblr don't like the idea of it being buck but i think it could be him

hen will be settling in with the new child and that requires a lot from a person

chim is busy planning the wedding with maddie and literally every time a wedding has happened the person planning was not captain

it could be eddie but we've never really seen him want to be anything more than the role he has at the fire station currently

we saw how buck took charge in the bridge collapse and it's made him think his ready to actually be a captain but the cruise will make him realise he still hasn't properly dealt with his trauma and maybe he isn't actually ready for (or doesn't actually want) the captain's title

wedding ring - madney wedding

like i said chim is busy helping plan the wedding so maybe he won't actually be on call for the cruise

everyone he knows, all of his family, is working on it except him

it'll be a fun callback to season 2 after he got stabbed and called tommy(?, an old member of the 118 who transferred) in for extra help

i think the time on the watch is at 7:30 (obviously i could be wrong) and y'know what else had 7 and 3?? 3 minutes and 17 seconds

the number has been such a big part of tragic/traumatic storylines throughout the show i wouldn't be surprised if it was here now

timing is such a great them and goes perfectly with the already set up storylines for this season

madney wedding - there's no time like the present, lets gather everyone we love and have a wedding in a meaningful place (bathena backyard) and be happy together forever as soon as possible

baby wilson - they're finally ready to grow healthily, they've had a lot of things test their marriage (hen cheating, ivf, hen's kidnapping, karen losing her job, hen going to med school, karen almost dying in an explosion at her work) and now they can finally say they're at a place where they want to expand their family properly and permanently

buddie's girlfriends - the issue with their girlfriends had always been timing and when they meet, did marisol and natalia come at the right time? will they stay and be permanent for the boys? will they break up? will the break up still leave them as friends (i hope so)

bathena cruise - i don't need to say much. they thought they finally had time to relax and be themselves and be with each other. it seems the only way they're going to get that is retirement

the time duration on the call being 1:18 is great 10/10

So glad to be able to play my favorite pixels again, even if just for a little. I had a ER visit recently so I'm mostly sleeping till my health is better.

Everything was ruined in the save corruption, I had to completely start over, I mean complete restart, an entire new EA folder.

I love everything and had to rebuild my entire save + replace all locations in other worlds + remake broken sims.

Took forever..... But! I Tried to catch everything up to speed with a diary entry since a lot of stuff was lost in corruption.

I am utterly exhausted… The rain jus' won't quit, and the Mud puddles cling to my skirts, chilling my ankles while dampening the hems of my dresses.

I'm struggling to tend to the farm like ah oughta, since Ma and Pa need so much care. Everyday I thank the Lord for Josephine,

The only thing we've ever expected of her was to make Silas happy, She's never lived or worked on a farm in her whole life...yet. She's taken it upon herself to learn the skills so that I don't have to do all the work alone. Josie's clothes aren't particularly built for gardening and are more for a garden party but her heart is in the right place. 

Perhaps I can get her some proper work gloves and boots... I couldn't stop laughing when her heel got stuck in a mud puddle. 

I'll be honest...I didn't expect Josie to enjoy living here, I figured going from a comfortable lifestyle to a poor farmers wife would be tough for anyone.

Did you know her father liked to bet on horses? Sometimes I wonder what its like having so much money u can afford to throw it away. 

I'm happy Josie is Happy here but, there are times I think about what if we had that money. Would Mama and Papa be cured? I Don't know… At the very least I would be getting better help, Josie can only do so much.

Silas hasn't lifted a finger in regard to anything involving the farm in a long time. I remember how he would beg Papa to allow him to learn so he could improve the farm for us.

I'm confident all aspirations of that are gone.

Now, all I hear is money money money. I know I don't know much but I think money changes people. Josie keeps me updated on Silas since we hardly speak anymore, she tells me He's been promoted to factory overseer and hired as a inventor for her fathers company.

She says he has the 1st patents for some of his inventions, which makes me a little confused, Where's all the money? If true we could be providing better for our family!

I would be angry if my heart wasn't already heavy with worry. The thought of living without Mama or Papa… Josie is the only thing keepin' me steady.

Her and the never-ending things that need to be done.

any fic recs?

Hello! Sure, I have a few fics I'd reccommend:

Pureblood Pretense - If you like Harry Potter, world-building, and incredibly complex characters, I would highly recommend it. The series is on its 5th novel now, over 1mil words. It's technically a f!Harry story, but Harry/Rigel is essentially an OC and is treated as such. It is hands down one of my favourite works of fiction.

The concept of the story is that Tom Riddle went into politics instead, which has made a vast number of changes in the wizarding world--including Hogwarts becoming a Pureblood-only school for wizards. Harriett/Rigel, being a halfblood, concocts a plan with her OC pureblood son-of-Sirius-Black cousin to switch places with him so that she can go to Hogwarts to pursue her dream of potion-making while her cousin can learn to heal at an American school. It's a wonderful story with a lot of world-building and politics!

Some other that I like are...

Paper Cranes: Hikaru no Go, 212k - currently on an indefinite hiatus, but it largely deals with grief and the aftermath of settling your life after losing something that was integral to you. It delves more into Hikaru's abilities to see ghosts and does a really really good job of making a childish, complicated person very likable and relatable.

(Fun fact, Hikago is one of my favourite animes!)

and much madness it takes: One Piece, 55k, complete. SI/OC inserted into a child of Big Mom, which is just as horrifying as one might expect.

The Cowards Redemption: One Piece, 150k, incomplete (also hasn't been updated in a year) A Future!Usopp where his crew is destroyed and is sent back in time, to the beginning, where he has the chance to change things!? We love time shenanigans!

Sanitize: Naruto, 89k, still in progress. OC is inserted into the Naruto world during the Warring Clans era, utilizing her knowledge of modern day medicine to improve the lives of many.

from the corner of your eye: Naruto, 168k, in progress. A small, simple misunderstanding during the genin testing changes things drastically. (I actually need to catch up on this, because stopped reading this awhile ago but I loved it)

Lucky Child: Yu yu Hakusho, 1117k, still in progress. SI reborn into a side character, having to struggle with either changing her narrative or keeping to the status quo. This isn't so easy when there are malevolent forces at play who are banking on her to cross the line.

Astra Inclinant: One Piece, 201k, Complete. AU where Doflamingo actually loves his brother and tries really fucking hard.... It's not any kinder story, though. 10/10, loved this characterization of Doffy.

A Lack of Wisdom: Naruto, 292k, complete. Self-aware SI is inserted into the body of Sasuke, leading to many fun and heartbreaking shenanigans. Handles gender and the crisis of identity beautifully!!

As far as the ocean will take us: Still in progress, 180k, One Piece. A marine medic turned Strawhat! (The slowburn romance is chef's kiss)

Another flash of lightning cracked through the sky. As the thunder subsided, the doorbell rang. Cautiously, Shawn approached the front door. He pushed the curtain of the narrow window to the right of the door to the side just enough so he could see out. It was dark. The porch lamps were no match against the stormy night; darkness swallowed any light they cast.

Lightning tore through the sky once again. In its radiance, he could see the shadow of the Boogeyman at his door.

Shawn started to move again-this time he ran. As he did, thoughts of his father's drunken fits chased him. He swore he could hear Chet roaring in fury just behind him. He panicked and raced faster, desperate to get to the safety of the apartment and Jon. But memories of his father pursued him. The taunts and the insults echoed like the bellowing of the ocean in his ears reminding him of how worthless he was, how useless, how much easier life would be without him. He felt the sharp, painful sting of an open palm against his cheek.

With the mood dampened, Shawn and Julia busied themselves by going over the menu. Certain foods were off limits due to Audrey's altered taste thanks to her pregnancy. Bacon was an absolute no-go as the smell exacerbated her all-day sickness.

Instead of bacon, Julia made sausage patties the way Audrey taught her to make them from scratch while Shawn made blueberry pancakes the way she had taught him.

As he dropped pancake batter on the skillet, he glanced at his sister and asked, "How old were you when Mom taught you to cook?"

Audrey looked so frail and young and even more so next to guys like Harley Kiner, who had also taken a liking to her. If it had been up to Jonathan, he would have assigned her to a class at the elementary school. It was easy to picture her in a denim jumper with her hair tied back at the nape of her neck surrounded by kids who no doubt would brighten to see her each day.

star trek update time. i'm behind af again i hate it here!!!!!! friday we watched voy's "someone to watch over me" and ds9's "when it rains...," saturday we did voy's "11:59" and ds9's "tacking into the wind," sunday we did voy's "relativity" and ds9's "extreme measures," and last night was voy's "warhead" and ds9's "dogs of war."

while the concept of "seven learns to date people from the emh" sounds absolutely rancid on paper, the execution was actually so incredibly charming it's become one of my fav moments from seven and the emh both

i was v excited to see sandrines again. idk why bc when it showed up regularly i got bored to death with it. nostalgia is a funny thing

tom paris teasing the EMH about his crush was pretty cute. "whatever you say maestro" got me chuckling.

i respect the emh so much for stepping out rather than helping seven change clothes. i would have been mad if he'd stayed

the b plot was also excellent. an increasingly frantic neelix showing the drunk monk around...incredible

mixed feelings about the starfleet uniform. they should have had to bow to her while she was rocking the bajoran look

winn turning dukat out extremely funny and very IC for her. she loves hurting other people to feel strong

really good: the mommy shifter threatening to vaporize weyoun 8 as soon as the cloning facilities were up and running again

i had mixed feelings about odo not telling kira about how sick he was but have ultimately decided i like it - it's made better by her knowing and pretending not to know. also, whatever he had going on with garak. in many ways they are still getting breakfast. i do love that garak romised not to tell and then immediately snitched, also

REALLY good when odo pretended to be the mommy shifter

CHANCELLOR WORF. we could have had it all. i can't believe he gave it to martok...if martok cares about the empire more than doing the right thing he's exactly the kind of person we CAN'T have leading, but worf is way too autistic to tolerate corruption. CHANCELLOR WORF!

damar shooting that cardassian who wanted to shoot kira <3 fun and hot of him. damar's arc is getting very good. YEAH DAMAR WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE GIVE THOSE ORDERS? kira is enacting REFORM!

relativity (voy):

this one was sooo fun. i think time travel bs is way more tolerable when you poke fun at how much sense it doesn't make

also, i love the genre of episode where everybody gets incapacitated and seven of nine has to save the day

gay people moment when she asked past janeway to trust her

i wish she could stay in the starfleet uniform...it was soooo nice to see her out of that catsuit

it took me awhile to recognize braxton. rip to that guy also. i don't think it's fair to take his younger self to task for something he hasn't done yet though

i was a little disappointed they never asked about do we get home in the future...obviously the answer is gonna be "can't tell" but it would have been a fun moment

extreme measures (ds9):

shoutout to tale of two cities which was in wrath of khan...yet another subtle bashir/khan comparison. love it

i love that sloan realizes bashir's intelligence has made him dangerous...it's his ideals that keep him from using it for evil, but when he decides he will commit evil acts in the name of good, he is VERY scarily good at it. he was freaking o'brien out a few times i could tell. i know the genetically enhanced thing was a retcon but it works SO well because he's showing obrien his true self and it's freaky but it's still julian

the plot twist was SO GOOD i did not see it coming i was thrilled

also, the bit at the end where they confessed to liking each other more than their respective love ineterests.

warhead (voy):

the premise of this is so stupid. HOW COULD THEY NOT KNOW IT'S A WARHEAD

that said, congrats to janeway for being less racist to machine

some fond nostalgia about kirk suicide baiting machines in tos happening during this episode. imagine our surprise when the machine did then kill itself

i was pretty "eh" about this until the warhead said "for all your doctor's accomplishments and how he became more than a doctor did he ever stop being a doctor? i cannot stop being a weapon." alright king

harry kim has been on this ship for 5 years and they still treat him like a baby. i wish he could do something more interesting than kick himself over this warhead business. it's not like he hasn't been on away missions before. this isn't that different

SO much going on in this episode

the julian/exri was bad. elevator kissing was funny or would have been if it hadn't been right in front of worf's salad but the rest was bad

got surprised by rom being chosen to be the new nagus but ultimately that scene was funny as hell. did NOT like quark talking about demanding sexual favors from his staff but you could tell in the beginning he realy was gonna give leeta and m'pella their extra 10%. king

also, quark fot fetish also funny. he should get together with bashir. when rom was like brunt you will NOT be my advisor and quark was like don't say that til you get a petticure from him. hilarious genuinely

DAMAR THE LEGEND! kira looking at damar like that...ohhh dukat would have been SICK

Hello! It indeed has been awhile, hasn't it? I had a lot of things happening. School, writer's block, and whatnot. It isn’t something to worry about. I am glad you’re interested in Time Dilation! It was my second idea for a ‘book’(fanfiction–but we don’t talk about that).

Now that you bring this up, it does pose a good question: “What happened to the descendants of all the characters we know and love?” 

Initially–when I was writing this–I had just made the lazy decision of just reincarnating every character into the modern Teyvatian world. Now, I feel bad for all the short-lived characters for not giving it much thought. So, to make up for my faults. I have decided to update Time Dilation! Even when I haven't finished any of my other projects… but let us ignore that for now! 

Sight… seems like this ‘world’ needs more fixing.

Because I will be updating this, I’ll answer your question and expand on it on the update. Please keep me in-check and message me, or send another inbox reminding me. I tend to lose track of time.

I like to believe that all members of the Gunnhildr Clan passed away in either a brave or heroic act, or peacefully in the comfort of their homes. That said, because of the Gunnhildr Clan’s reputation, they are one of the few families in Teyvat that have maintained their presence and influence. So, worry not! The Gunnhildr Clan is as strong and mighty as ever!

Oh! If you’re wondering, Jean’s and Barbara’s reincarnations are still related! They belong to the Gunnhildr family but are in separate branches. Jean is the daughter of the Clan’s first-household. While Barbara is in one of the lower-households. They are third cousins’ twice removed!
