I really thought it was gonna be Davrin, and he did make things complicated because he's so... Davrin.

But it just always felt like something deeper was there with Lucanis. Like my Rook and Lucanis just had this unspoken understanding.

And as soon as Rook got into Lucanis' head, literally opening his closed doors and breaking his walls, there was no going back. It had to be Lucanis.

It’s easy for people to criticize protectors for how we react to perceived threats —

Some of us get defensive, some of us get loud, or completely freeze up, or run for safety, or suddenly collapse and can’t move, or become mute, or have extreme fawn reactions … and to the outside, it seems over the top.

Or maybe you think it’s not fair that we saw you as a threat because you got angry and yelled. Maybe you think it’s childish that we sprinted out of the house or scary that we kicked into “fight” mode.

We had to identify threats fast. We had to do what it took to survive. To protect our system and our physical body and mind.

And we can and should learn to react more proportionally. But our instincts aren’t ridiculous or made to victimize you. They made sense in the traumatic environment that created us. They’re the only reason we’re still here now.

We still fall back on that because it worked and we survived.

OOf Live Action Robin was perfectly casted, with the way you are treating the actress. You are all treating the actress like a monsters because she was born a Russian. i would also like to add to the chris is 13! and he's choosing to go with THEM? discourse to add that chris does not know. because eddie is a good father and he does not let his insecurities and battles with his parents detract from the fact that ramon and helena cared for chris for a long time, that they loved him and he remembers that. they were a huge part of chris' life and he was safe with them. it wasn't perfect and we have a LOT to say about them as parents and as grandparents, but they're safety for chris. notice how all of the talks eddie has with them are away from chris. they're overbearing and have their faults (because i just know some of y'all will bring shit like that up) but chris doesn't see that.

at thirteen these choices are more than capable of being made. i have said it before and will say it again; children are wholeass human beings. they are young, but they're not without experiences. chris has dealt with a lot of stuff in LA. tsunamis, earthquakes, his father's constant brushes with death. he's making a choice to remove himself from a situation that he doesn't think is best for him right now because eddie is not making choices in his best interest. however much you like those scenes or this storyline as a whole, chris is not wrong for wanting to be secure.

and while it might not seem like it, this is also good for eddie. he needs to know he can exist in spaces without chris around. he might not want to, but he needs to learn that he can and that he is NOT in the right place, through grief and stress and ptsd and all the shit he's gone through. he is choosing to let christopher go because he knows this, deep down, where he doesn't want to look too closely.

this situation is about choices; christopher's AND eddie's.

hey! no clue if you’ll like this idea but thought i’d give it a shot. i was reading one of my favorite books the other day and there was a quote that reminded me of a dynamic/idea that i’d love to see with Jason. since i have no clue what the dynamic is called i’ll just show you part of the quote to give you the general idea (obvs have however many liberties you want. i just don’t know the name for it).

“And how will you have me?. Fully clothed, gloves on, your head turned away so our lips can never touch?”)

i can imagine it would be pretty angsty and angry.

“Take off the helmet,” she said. 

The glowing front panel looked down at her, the LEDs of its display unchanging in their cycle. 

Just outside the room the heavy boots of the militia thudded against the metal floors. The light flickered beneath the door as they moved back and forward. 

They stood barely a foot apart in the semi-dark, at the foot of her bed. Her breathing seemed so loud. The helmet silenced his entirely. 

He didn’t move. She could read so much from his body normally, the rage driving him when he marched, the focus in his steady hands when he took apart his weapons, the refusal to bend in his broad, tense shoulders. Then he looked at her, and she saw nothing. Only a blank mask, and a body that faced her but would never close the distance.

 She lowered her head. 

“I get it.” She turned towards the door. 

He caught her arm. Her breath hitched. His hold was gentle, as soft as a plated gauntlet could be.

“You don’t.” His modulator was quiet, but harsh. It couldn’t be anything else. “I want you to stay. I want you to… I want you.”

She turned back. He was closer now. For a moment she felt the desperation to reach to her in his hold, in the tightening of his fingers, an urgency and need straining against a refusal to step closer. 

She let out a shaky breath and looked up at him. Her hand rose to gently cup his jaw through the helmet. She hoped he could see the need in her eyes. The understanding she would extend if only he trusted her enough to try. How much she yearned for him.

The unblinking display looked back. 

"You want me like this?" she whispered, desperation warring with rising anger. "Fully clothed, gloves on, your head turned away so our lips can never touch?”

He let go.

She closed her eyes, then walked away.
