this was never something that the hound thought of much. not before he and jono began to grow closer than just partners. tetcho had never overly understood the appeal of many types of relationships - least of all those he saw being referred to as romantic. the strict, rule abiding side of him disliked the vulnerability it opened up. he disliked the idea of allowing someone in close enough that they might twist the meaning behind the hunting dog's understanding of the world around him.

still, tetcho's asking a question he knows could shatter their peace if jono wished it to. he lays there and asks a question he knows could hold a lit match to the fuse jono holds in both hands like a lifeline. he doesn't know why he asks... no... no that's a lie. he knows why he asks. tetcho knows why it's something that's been on his mind. he knows it's because jono still feels... distant, in some respects. he knows it's because he feels a distance between them sometimes - when he watches his partner's expression shift or his lips thin at the mention of certain names or places. it's a curiosity tetcho has held since they were first assigned as partners - since he was told to kill the fox if there was even a hint of betrayal in jono's actions.

he watches his partner shift, allows him to move as he wishes as tetcho rolls a little more onto his back in order to still watch jono's features in the half light made fuzzy by the sheets and warmth surrounding the both of them. again, he's speaking without thinking - reaching out a hand to graze fingertips 'gainst sharp jawline. "if you want to tell me... i want to know." usually blunt tones are soft, gentle as he holds that escape route between them - willing jono to understand he's not trapped here. "whatever it was. it is in the past - no? you are... how do you say it? you are a different person now. much like i am, no?"

No new AU thoughts 2 share but I’d just like to say that I rly love how Techno’s current situation with Tommy validates ur characterization of him in bonding b-over broken bones,,, like he doesn’t tell Tommy how to feel about Dream just like how he didn’t tell Quackity how to feel about Schlatt and reviving him??

And NOW I’m thinking abt Tommy and Quackity’s parallels with their respective ppl and their own complicated feelings on them,, bc Dream had his nice moments with Tommy (ex: giving him his pickaxe) even if he was still overall terrible, and the nice moments were just building up that fake friendship persona in Tommy’s brain. And Schlatt and Quackity had a lot of laughs together, but the humour ALSO served to just build up Quackity’s feelings abt himself (will not ramble abt this but Fatty Patty, while very obviously a joke, was a joke that assisted in Schlatt’s gradual objectification of Big Q to the point that he genuinely was offended by Flatty Patty and Schlatt wielded a dumb joke like it was a weapon as his final words 2 Quackity), and just. Hoo boy.

It was just before you were going to go on an underwater mission with Nicholas and Vash that you started to feel a strong feeling.

The only thing you could feel was nervousness. It was getting close to the time when you, Vash, and Nicholas were walking to the place we were supposed to be, and although you trusted them, you couldn't shake the nervous feeling in your stomach.

"Hey, are you ready?" 

It was Nicholas who asked you this question while looking behind you, with Vash standing beside him, looking at you as well with a smile on his face. 

As I replied, "Yeah, I'm coming." I speed-walked to get with them so we could walk side by side. 

There was something beautiful about seeing the blue sea.

As Nicholas went into the water, Vash followed him, saying, "Don't be afraid; we'll all come back safe," and smiling. Vash went into the water as well. 

You’ll be fine, right? You thought to yourself while hesitating before jumping in. 

The cold water hit your body like a wave, keeping your mouth shut so water didn't get in, and your vision was blurry, but you could see Vash and Nicholas figures in front of you.

Swimming allows you to get closer to them and avoid losing them.

Something grabbed your foot, pulling you into a deeper part of the water. You began flinging your arms, trying to get air, but to no avail; everything slowly went dark.

Your eyes shot open at the image of Nicholas in front of your face, his lips on yours, his fingers  your nose, pushing him back immediately sitting up and coughing the water from your lungs so you could breathe. 

Panting for air "thank god." Nicholas sighed in relief as you raised your head to look at him, drool dripping from your mouth, but you were tightly hugged by Vash. "I'm so happy you're okay," Vash sniffled in your shoulder. 

looking ahead you see Nicholas with a small smile on his face.

before looking down to the floor while rubbing Vash’s arm to comfort him.

Noen lays in his bed, cuddled there with Zippy as the music reverberates around the room, the lights he had decorated it with giving it a cool vibe and mood, having gotten soft green bulbs just for the Occasion of Zippy coming, just...relaxing and enjoying the moment with her until he sees Boots McBootson peep his head out from under the bed and move to jump up, causing Noen to let out a warm chuckle. "He wanted to give you some of his kitty ASMR in Purr-son," he lightly, playfully teases, a grin forming on his full lips.

Zippy rubs the bottom of her palm against her eye, letting out a soft yawn, her legs splayed along with Noen's, somehow Tirrrred from the flight, still, even though it felt like she had slept for 48976 decades once she had finalllly gotten in, the soft mewling drawing her attention as she leans over Noen to help BOOTS - how cuteeeeeeee actually getting to see him in person! - up, holding him softly, close, once she lies back down hearing Noen's punniess strike again, producing a soft giggle out of her, feeling nice and cozy toasty as she hears the relaxing purrrrrssss and feels the soft fur as he moves his head underneath her chin, "I'm Honoredddd, your Honor."

A warm smile moves onto Noen's lips as he hears Zippy's giggle, pulling her in closer as he moves to lightly stroke the top of Boots's  head. "Cutest kitty judge in all of townnnnn," he lightly replies, hearing the purr get even louder as he does so. "Sometimes when Benj is right, he's Right," he lightly acknowledges, thinking of that one kitty purr tweet, before placing a soft, gentle kiss on the top of Zippy's head, continuing to relax in the niceness and warmth of it all. "Though Boots himself needs credit, for inviting you here. I mean I do love your Skype dancing, but...it's even better in person," he lightly, warmly teases out, referencing one of their Skype sessions where her cousin Jael had walked in, causing a warm chuckle to escape him at the memory.

Zippy's lips twitch softly, happily, as she feels the kiss and hears Noen's words, before letting out a yelp as she feels the kitty's claws sink into her chest, "Owowoowowowo...ow okay..." She quickly breathes out, moving to gently place him along the side of her moving her arm around the space, hoping he'd be down to cuddle like thissss...her lips pushing out as she feels the wave of embarrassment warm her, clapping a hand over his mouth, "Ohhohokkkkkkk...we Don't Have To Talk About That..."

"Booooots, what are you doing?" Noen asks of the cat as he watches him try to knead into Zippy like a blanket and clearly forget that he had claws, before watching Boots move to wrap his tiny kitty arm around Zippy's arm and cuddle in, a smile warming his lips, before letting out a playful laugh. "It was cute, though," he replies, the smile peeking upwards on the right half of his lips. "And your cousin? Total perfect Mom from Mean Girls," he lightly acknowledges, before moving his hand down gently towards where Boots was kneading in, claws and all. "...does it still hurt?" He asks, before pushing his lips a bit to the side. "Am I going to have to tell Benj no Fancy Feast for Boots tonight?"

Zippy slowly moves her hand off of Noen's lips as she barely makes out his muffled words, "Huh?" She asks, hearing him say that it was Cute, her nose twitching a smidge as her lips push to the side a bit, her head tilting down as Boots does his best Sour Patch commercial thing, still moving two fingers down his fur...wincing a bit as she feels Noen's fingers along her chest. "It Stingssss...a little..." She softly admits, even as she shakes her head a bit, "Nooo...I'll just have to wear double hoodies in case he needs to practice againnn...no big dealio."

"Would a kiss make it feel better?" He offers, a small smile moving onto his lips, before they curl up a bit further at bigger hoodies. "I have some you can borrow, or even better, I'll steal one of Benj's Giant Ones when he's not looking," he lets out with a small, warm chuckle, thinking of a few of Benj's hoodies that were like...twice his size.

A soft, continuous, curl of Zippy's lips headlines her nod of approval, as she turns a little bit more in so Noen could get to her chest, her softttt grey cami rising a bit on the edges as she does so, a soft giggle rising out of her at the mention of the stealing, "Doesn't he Need them?"

Noen leans in to press warm, soft kisses on the spots where Boots had dug his little claws in, before letting out a small laugh at her question. “It’s just Borrowingggg for the sake of Boots Safety,” he lightly remarks, before cocking his head a tiny bit. “Though if you feel bad about making Benj pay his Debt to Society for not teaching Boots better claw etiquette...I do have quite a few myself if you want to see if any are Boots-holding Worthy?”

Zippy feels Noen's lips tenderly press along her chest, a tiny twirl of a smile appearing as he does so, moving to wrap her arms around him, nestling her head along his shoulder, "Not if it means you have to Get Up...I can be braveeee."

"You hear that Boots? She's not afraid of youuuuu," Noen lightly teases to Boots in between the soft kisses, moving to touch the kitten's nose, before resting his head softly on Zippy's chest.

Zippy chuckles a bit as she hears Noen's words, her chest slowly falling as she lets out a stream of breath, her fingers gently raking back through Noen's hair, as she draws him into a warm embrace, her fingertips gingerly swiping gliding along the back of his neck, as she leans her head a bit along the top of his.

Noen closes his eyes as he lays in the embrace, relaxing as he feels the comforting sensations of Zippy's fingers along his hair, and then his neck. "That feels so nice..." He lowly, warmly murmurs out as he continues to relax.

A slow serenely sweet smile begins to spread along Zippy's face as she hears Noen, continuing what she was doing, "Gooooood..." She softly replies back, feeling like he was due for some so niceeee...

Noen lets out a soft, contented hum as he closes his eyes in relaxation, keeping snuggled next to Zip, just...happy to have the moment with her, to have her there with him...

A soft amusedness flows through Zippy as she continues her motions, feeling Noen relax further and further, leaning her head a liiiittle as she sees Boots curl onto him, "...You still happy you invited me?"

"Really super happy," Noen warmly replies from his cozy spot, a relaxation swirling through his tone. "Are you still happy you came?"
