PRIDEFALL UPDATE: real or fake?
What is Pridefall?
Operation Pridefall, also known as Project Pridefall or simply Pridefall, refers to an attack planned by /pol/ (a political discussion board on the anonymous website 4chan) for all of June, AKA Pride month. The original 4chan thread, which has since been deleted, was primarily focused on “redpilling,” i.e. spreading queerphobic propaganda to make people question the LGBTQ+ community. However, now that it has spread outside 4chan, there are threats of harassing, doxxing, and outing queer people (especially minors) on social media, spamming gore and rape videos in private messages and Pride tags, and even kidnapping, assaulting, or killing queer people in real life.
Specific targets include Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and dating apps. The goal is to go after smaller accounts so the queerphobia isn’t lost in the comments.
Is Pridefall real?
Yes and no.
I searched “pridefall” on 4chan last night. Apparently any new threads on it are being deleted, and anytime someone mentions it, everyone calls them slurs and says no one is doing it.
However, Pridefall is gaining some traction on Instagram--I have seen it for myself. I don’t have TikTok or any dating apps, but I’ve heard that some people are spamming homophobia on TikTok. As for Twitter, I only looked briefly, but I saw some Pridefall accounts there, as well as a lot of warnings and blocklists from people who are worried about it.
I’ve also heard that there have been a few Reddit and Discord raids, and that there is an Operation Pridefall Discord server (someone who spied on them says they have been banned on Discord as well as a platform called Riot before, so very few people are left on the Discord server now).
What do you think, Lia?
This is not coming from 4chan. No one on 4chan is interested anymore.
Most likely, people outside of 4chan heard about it and decided to take matters into their own hands.
The original 4chan thread wanted to make Pridefall “normie-palatable” by avoiding Nazi imagery or other overt unpleasantness, but I have seen a LOT of both on Instagram. This reinforces my belief that 4chan isn’t doing this.
A lot of the people behind this are young, or at least unsophisticated. Most of the Pridefall accounts on Instagram engage in very childish trolling, and one of them said they were a minor. Some of the threats I’ve seen are so outlandish that I can only imagine they came from a fairly young person.
My guess? Most of these people are around 13-19.
There are also very few of them and some of them probably have multiple accounts. Anti-Pridefall accounts outnumber them by far.
However, on Instagram I’ve seen Pridefall accounts following each other and commenting on each other’s posts, so there may be a few groups working together.
A lot of this shit is going to get deleted. I know Instagram is working through reports very slowly right now because they have fewer people available due to COVID-19, but most of the worst accounts I saw last night were deleted by this morning. I saw some more accounts deleted today.
Most, if not all, of these Pridefallers are just trying to scare us. Because they’re probably quite young, there’s very few of them, their accounts keep getting deleted, and law enforcement can track online activity, there is no way they have the balls or resources needed to coordinate major attacks.
There is a very, very slight chance this could spill over into real life, but as long as you practice basic online safety, you will be fine.
That being said, if you are threatened or doxxed by a Pridefall account, PLEASE contact the police. Better safe than sorry.
I do think that the threat of being doxxed or outed is more real than the threat of being attacked. I have already seen one Pridefall account who posted a trans boy’s address on Instagram (he is okay, he posted recently) and another who posted someone else’s address.
There is little chance this will last throughout Pride month. Apparently the goal is for Pridefall to worsen until the end of June, but given that this is most likely just some vastly outnumbered teenage trolls who are bored in quarantine, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to stay interested for a whole month.
This might not be as big on Tumblr. Tumblr is a lot more anonymous than, say, Instagram, which will hopefully deter would-be doxxers. It’s also known to be a highly liberal and queer-friendly site, so any Pridefaller with half a brain cell should know that A) their content is sure to be outnumbered and reported (only us Tumblr users know how bad staff is at deleting questionable stuff), and B) anyone with the original goal of “redpilling” is sure to fail here. Plus, I only remember seeing few, if any, mentions of Tumblr on Pridefall planning threads.
Still, expect to see some Pridefall activity here. Unsurprisingly, not all of these Pridefallers have half a brain cell. Some of them will definitely be unable to resist the lure of a community as openly queer as Tumblr, and we’ve all seen or heard about doxxing, harassment, gore, Nazis, and queerphobes on here. Also, 4chan has historically had some beef with Tumblr, so young teenage boys who idolize 4chan may target us for that reason.
How can I stay safe?
If you have any social media accounts where you A) have posted identifying personal information, and B) are openly supportive of the LGBTQ+ community (especially if you’re queer yourself), put them on private for June. Any other accounts are probably fine to stay public.
If you need a private Tumblr, you can make a password-protected secondary account and only share the password with mutuals you trust.
It is probably okay to be openly queer on a private account (e.g. have pronouns/rainbow emojis in your Instagram bio), since a private account is not likely to be doxxed. But if you want to be extra careful, remove queer identifiers from anything that is publicly visible.
Use Pridefall blocklists. They’re all over Instagram and Twitter. I may repost some here.
Report any Pridefall accounts you see. This is VERY important because this is how we can actually get rid of Pridefall content.
DON’T RESPOND TO ANY PRIDEFALLERS WHO PERSONALLY INTERACT WITH YOU. I know it’s tempting to give a snarky reply, but if they message you, comment on your post, etc, just block them. Seriously, don’t feed the trolls. It's exactly what they want.
Make sure your password game is strong. Use a different password for every site (I know, I know, it sucks), and use passwordmeter.com to test their strength. Write them all down on a piece of paper.
Make sure your username game is strong. Don’t use the same username for multiple sites, and avoid putting personal information in your username, such as your name or birthday.
Do NOT open random links!! Pridefallers could message you links that will give you viruses or track your IP address.
Don’t accept DMs or follows from people you don’t know. Pridefall accounts don’t always look like Pridefall accounts. Some of them are undercover.
Use a VPN. This is probably a little overkill unless you’re particularly at risk of being doxxed, but it will hide your IP address.
Be careful who you interact with. A lot of queer people on Instagram are DMing Pridefall accounts or commenting on their posts, but this could make you a target. As helpful as anti-Pridefall accounts are, you might even be targeted for following those.
Be wary of Pride tags. Unfortunately, a lot of Pridefall accounts plan to infiltrate tags commonly used by queer creators during Pride month. Use discretion when looking for queer content.
Be safe IRL. Lock your doors, lock your windows, be aware of your surroundings, don’t walk alone in poorly lit places, know basic self-defense, etc. Again, I absolutely do not think people will be attacked in real life, but you should be doing this shit all the time, not just in June. Thanks to COVID-19, you’re safer inside anyway!!
Make yourself hard to dox. Even though I have a very unusual first name (it's not really Lia), I am extremely hard to find online. I just went into an incognito browser window and searched my first and last name in quotation marks, but I didn’t find myself until page 4 of Google (and that result wasn’t even posted by me). I’m only half as careful as I could be, but here’s some of the things I do:
-I never use a picture of myself as my profile pic, except for Facebook and Instagram, which are both on the highest privacy settings possible.
-If I post identifying information on a public account (my college, my age, etc), I use a pseudonym or my first name only.
-On Instagram, I only use my first name, and I used special characters to type it, so you won’t find me if you search my name.
-On Facebook, I only accept friend requests from people I know. Most, if not all, of my Instagram followers are IRL friends, friends of IRL friends, and trusted Internet friends.
-If I’m really being paranoid, I’ll make a brand-new email account to sign up for a site. That way, my accounts aren’t all linked through one email address.
-Before I post a picture online, I delete the EXIF data with verexif.com, since EXIF data can hold GPS coordinates.
🌈 Stay safe, everyone.
You will not be harmed. You will be okay. Like cockroaches, we are survivors, and we will get through this!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I’ve seen this done before but here are my modern!rdr2 social media headcanons for the Van der Linde gang.
some of these are LONG and then some are shorter. doesn’t mean I love any of them any less however. I just did my best with all of them.
* I treat the gang as family especially for my modern au
Dutch
frequently uses Facebook and has dozens of friends he doesn’t even know. like if he gets a friend request he’ll accept it. John tells him he might as well just make his page public and Arthur pleads with him to make a facebook PAGE so that his random friends will stop liking posts that Arthur tags Dutch in.
Dutch has no idea how to make a facebook page.
he also has a Twitter and a massive following at that. He’s VERIFIED.
all of his twitter posts are vague though
are they a joke? are they political? is it what he’s eating for lunch that day? literally no one knows.
Hosea
also has facebook but doesn’t use it because why does he need to look at pictures of events he was at. he only uses it to see things he didn’t partake in
also has snapchat but just to keep up with the kids
because life360 was too much to deal with for everyone
and snapchat is cool
also he can and will spam you with bitmojis
Arthur
used to use facebook a lot but stopped because he was tired of his posts getting likes from people he didn’t know and friend requests from people Dutch was friends with.
plEASE
he has a private facebook for a reason, he doesn’t want other people to know his business.
he also has an instagram but anything he posts on facebook also goes on there. it’s not aesthetic or pretty or anything and he doesn’t even caption over half his pictures.
he literally only uses social media so that his friends and family know he’s alive
has snapchat because of Hosea but barely knows how to use it
doesn’t get why everyone wants to use snapchat when teXTING AND CALLING ARE RIGHT THERE
John
the question is what doesn’t he have.
john has been trying to make it big on social media since youtube came out.
his youtube used to have videos on it but he deleted them because they were cringy and arthur liked to send them to the group text.
plays twitch games on the weekends and sometimes with Jack but he thinks most of the subscribers are there for his kid since most of his solo streams don’t do as well
has a twitter, doesn’t follow Dutch, literally envies that he’s verified.
he’s tried everything but no matter what he does nothing pans out
uses tiktok to promote twitch streams
instagram feed is mostly selfies of him but 99.9% of the time he’s wearing sunglasses and the caption is some random quote
also has facebook but only to appease Arthur and Dutch, he doesn’t even have a profile picture. Claims only boomers use it.
an avid reddit user. if he’s got problems he’ll go to reddit. claims reddit saved his life. everyone’s tired of the story so they stopped asking.
also uses snapchat more than he should and the only social platform he has more than 100 followers on.
Charles
same as arthur and has both facebook and instagram and posts the same on both except his are pleasing to look at.
they’re unintentionally aesthetic
he uses a psd on all his pictures and won’t share what it is
has monthly life updates that start with some inspirational or deep quote and then text that pushes the instagram word limit
also has a deviantart , has shared psds there before , constantly tries to convince Arthur to get it.
used to use tumblr but he forgot about it
Abigail
the definition of a facebook mom. 80% of her facebook posts are about Jack or parenting.
Instagram is similar but also different, she’s actually a relatively successful influencer with over 1,000 followers.
all of her friends and family (who have instagram) follow her
has snapchat solely for the cute bitmojis and to send John adorable snaps of Jack playing with all the fun filters.
she also won’t take a selfie unless it’s with snapchat because she no longer trusts her own camera.
also uses pinterest and has a collaborative board with all the ladies.
but in general, on her own, she has too many boards. she uses pinterest for EVERYTHING
Sadie
bold of you to assume she uses social media.
she does just not a whole lot.
checks it once in the morning and once at night.
except pinterest because how dare Abigail get her into it. but even pinterest she only uses in downtime.
has facebook and instagram but there’s maybe only five posts.
if anything she’ll post on her story
will only snap Abigail and Arthur otherwise she doesn’t use snapchat
all of the social apps are mostly offloaded on her phone anyways
if she needs to know anything she just checks the group text which she has on do not disturb because they text way too much.
Molly
she’s verified on instagram
it’s also the only social platform she’ll use, which frustrates Dutch because he wants to be friends with her on facebook
but she’s happy with just instagram
she keeps it simple
and the main theme to her posts are fun outfits in her ever expanding closet
the other posts are usually of plants that she’s managed to grow. she’s not the best at being a plant mom but she’s still a good one to the ones she’s managed to keep alive.
the only thing she contributes to the pinterest board are her own pictures of her plants which are overly aesthetic.
Karen
started out with a normal instagram account then made a spam account which she ended up using way more often.
all of her posts are extremely chaotic
and usually reposts from her snapchat
has a reddit just to troll John
reposted his cringy youtube videos to reddit and got hundreds of upvotes
if you wanna see the most raw and chaotic videos of Arthur and John then she’s the one to follow.
also if you wanna see Abigail when she’s not all put together.
is the reason there’s so many memes in the collaborative pinterest board
Mary-Beth
has a instagram but also has a second instagram for art and book reviews
or basically anything she’d post on her tumblr
which is her second most used social
also uses facebook but only because she is an admin for one of those multifandom blogs.
also begs Arthur to get a deviantart.
uses pinterest most but only second to Abigail
literally the queen of pinterest DIYs
Micah
has twitter
as far as anyone else knows that’s all he has
maybe he has snapchat?
maybe they saw him on snapmaps once?
all he ever does with twitter though is retweet anything Dutch posts.
yet somehow he has so many followers.
Lenny
anyone who has snapchat has streaks with Lenny
even Hosea who doesn’t understand why it’s a thing
he also posts a lot on facebook but it’s mostly travel or vacation photos everyone is just a tad jealous of.
Lenny always seems to be busy but still has time for streaks with his friends.
he’s also an up and coming youtube vlogger
Sean
also has reddit to troll john
but he also legitimately uses it too.
he’s also really popular in the minecraft subreddit , don’t ask
also has twitch and also has way more subsribers than John
and a youtube which he’ll upload (overly edited) twitch streams to
everyone subscribes to him but they don’t tell John that.
also has a tiktok and is up to date on all the trends because of course he is
Kieran
got facebook when he was 10 and just never left.
literally doesn’t use any other social media
he’s not in the group text either so he has to facebook message Arthur to know what’s going on.
but he shares a lot of memes and cute pictures of animals
he used to follow Dutch but unfriended him when he was the only thing he ever had on his activity feed.
Susan
has facebook but claims she doesn’t have time to use it
Arthur knows this to not be true because she will like a lot of his posts.
she’s also guilty of liking every single picture in one post or album.
Arthur has also caught her looking at memes and using recipes she finds on there.
also part of the pinterest board but never contributes.
Trelawny
he has an account for everything
like
litereally
everything.
even whatsapp and linked in and kik
even tinder
the only one anyone knows about are his facebook, twitter, and instagam
but there’s no posts on any of them except twitter
he’s also verified
but for unknown reasons
any posts on his facebook are ones he’s tagged in
he’s also in a lot of facebook groups
Strauss
runs a subreddit
a paid facebook admin of several pages
the only person who actually knows this is Dutch because Strauss has told him about it
he has no online presence whatsoever out side of those.
Javier
spotify king
has over 500,000 subscribers on youtube
uses instagram but as another platform for his music
edits his own album covers
top tier playlists too
Tilly
aesthetic queen
the most put together and pleasing to look at instagram feed next to Charles.
uses pinterest a lot as inspiration and for making moodboards.
also uses tumblr to share moodboards
part of the sims global community facebook group
she keeps saying she’s going to start a youtube vlog but hasn’t yet
keeps trying to convince John to let her help him with his youtube.
she also uses twitch to play minecraft and sims
oh and she set up a minecraft server for everyone
Bill
facebook boomer
that’s it
I don’t know how else to put it
probably shares heavily republican posts
Swanson
didn’t use social media until tiktok.
he doesn’t do dances or anything but he does post weirdly obscure and chaotic videos that end up trending on more than one occasion
it’s usually drunk ramblings in his car that end up being hilarious
or videos of the others almost dying or ending up in the ER
Pearson
facebook boomer but make it cool.
also shares conservative posts but less offensive ones compared to Bill’s
likes almost every post any of his friends share
also comments on them too
Uncle
does he have social media? no one knows for sure.
yet somehow he knows what’s going on
even if nobody can find any of his social accounts or have ever seen him using one before let alone doing anything on his phone other than playing cheesy mobile games.

I'm so sorry, but I see you picking fights fairly often in the tags. Are you okay? I'm legit asking because it's a little bit much. I think you're taking this a bit too far, almost like an anti would
Honey, I’m fine. if people would just stop leaving (in the Alastor Butt Boy Case) literal passive aggressive arse notes on my post instead of just reblogging me directly I’d have no problem.
I’m only dishing out according to exactly what I’d get while also possibly scaring away the teenagers with my trolling while I’m at it. It’s not that serious.
And if I may ask you a sincere question: What part of people responding to my posts in an outwardly rude/mean manner, (but also in a sort of private sneaky manner because remember these are all the unseen notes that I’m getting and not a public reblog) me responding to those notes in a way that can publicly seen, in a matter I see fit and in accordance to the amount of blatant ignorance and disrespect that I was addressed with in their original notes, me immediately blocking the person when I finish replying, when they probably assumed that I wouldn’t bother to screen shot them like they’re just expecting me to just silently “debate” them within the semi-private notes of my own posts after being so uncivilized with me, and then these people further proving just how uncivilized they are by sometimes honestly and truly going out of their own ways to create new accounts to harass me after I block them and so I’m forced to respond to that harassment accordingly and block them again... Do you read as me “picking the fights”, here?
I’m sorry that I’m intimidating, and I notice you’re in a little bit younger of your 20′s than me, honey... But today I just had what I think may have been a 13 year old that shouldn’t even be in this fandom after I blocked them, try to contact me again with a brand new blog that they supposedly made with a brand new email just trying to treat me like their therapist and unload on me a whole truck full of their emotionally garbage after I blocked them the first time, and then after the second time I blocked them, I had to block all of their little friends that they tagged in an attempted “callout” that they made about me too.
And if they were an adult and doing that then that’s just sad for them but this isn’t the first time I’ve had teenagers do this because of the harassment of this ADULT fandom.
Nearly all of the people leaving their unwanted and unneeded “opinions” laced with insults in my notes, almost NEVER have their ages listed on their blogs and when they do, it’s in a way that’s extremely inaccessible because they’re usually an exclusionist suicide baitor.
The children in this fandom that way shouldn’t even be in, need to be told to stop harassing people whenever they can be, and when they mouth off they should be told get the flick out as soon as possible because this is space for adults and it’s only gonna be getting adultier so we might as well just start scaring all the wondering orphans who don’t have any parents to stop them from harassing people away NOW.
And if that means I’m finally manifesting the Monster Energy of a mean old tumblr grandmother A.K.A Lucile Bluth A.K.A Meteora then so be it...
The only “neat hat” these kids will be getting from me if they try passing notes again is the “dunce” one from the episode of Helluva....
For now I just say, that I’m sorry, Sweetheart, I still think that you are very kind and I’m not going to block you, but if you’re really coming here trying to guilt and critique me right now with all of that “You’re just as bad as they are” thinly veiled respectability politics bullshit after all of the blatant disrespect and other harassment that’s been happening to me today...I won’t hear it, and I won’t respond to it.
It’s late, so just take a tip from Stolas and say that everything is gonna be okay. Okay?
Goodnight.

Bits & Pieces, Themes & Evidence
Morning Everyone! So, below are just a bunch of bits and pieces that me, my fellow theorists and/or others in the fandom have come up. They don’t really fit into one, cohesive theory, but they’re most about or have come out of 10x18. I keep joking that this is the episode that just keeps on giving. We’re STILL talking about it and figuring things out about it.
Leah as a Hallucination/Daryl’s PTSD:
It’s been suggested that in 10x18, Dog never actually left Daryl. The episode is cut in a way to suggest that Daryl went long periods without seeing Dog (which is symbolic, of course) but maybe that’s not true and Dog was always there. Not only is that super interesting, but it works with one of my first observations. When I first watched the episode, I thought that the second time he sees Dog, first time as a grown dog and not a pup, and meets Leah, he didn't seem surprised to see Dog. So, I thought maybe he'd seen Dog a lot by then. I changed my mind for the sake of the symbolism. If it represents Grady, it makes more sense that Daryl simply recognized him as the pup me once met, but really had been separated from his for awhile. But I’m just saying this hallucination theory and the idea of Dog being there all along, just backs up my first impressions. That's all.
Also, weapon13whitefang left a long comment on my Tumblr post about Leah being a hallucination. It's really not so much about the show as about PTSD because they have some experience with it. I found it really interesting and enlightening, so it might interest some of you. You can read it HERE under the comments.
Why He Got Defensive at the Idea of Leah Leaving Him
A couple of my friends were talking about this, and this is just my contribution to the conversation. I think it's directly because Leah is predicated on his time with Beth. Even if he's not consciously aware of the delusion, some part of his UNconscious brain knows that Leah = Beth. And he knows Beth wouldn't have willingly left him. Not only because she said that, but because when she DID disappear, it wasn't her fault or her choice either time. So, when Carol says, "maybe she just left," Daryl's brain rails against that and he gets really defensive. And the interesting thing is that it's really not about him taking it personally or about his ego. It's about what he knows to be true of Beth. It's actually his brain being really logical in the midst of the delusion.
The Talk Dead to Me Podcast with Lynn Collins
I listened to the Talk Dead to me Podcast and this week’s guest was—no surprise—Lynn Collins. No huge TD smoking guns or anything, but it was interesting nonetheless. First of all, one of the really big C@ryl accounts was pretty much called out for being a toxic troll.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Lynn Collins gave a different interview a few days back (not this podcast; just a different one) in which she mentioned that Daryl and Carol’s relationship is very mother/son. Just after that, I won’t say the name but one of the most well known C@ryl accounts who can be REALLY nasty to…well…I was gonna say other shippers but pretty much anyone in the fandom who dares disagree with her, called Lynn an ageist for saying that Carol was mothering Daryl.
So, when the podcast began, Johnny O’Dell, who is the host, said that most TWD fans are super cool but a lot of the shippers can be toxic. He doesn't mention any particular ships in accordance to that (I actually think he briefly mentions all of them, saying people ship Daryl with Carol, Beth, Connie, and Rosita the most) but then after saying SOME of the shippers can be toxic, he talked about the post she made calling Lynn Collins ageist and said that was ridiculous and toxic and that we need to be cool to the actors. So, it's very obvious it was her comment he was talking about.
And of course, the ageist thing she accused Lynn Collins of is ridiculous. Not only is it true that Carol and Daryl’s relationship can be very mother/son at times, but saying so is not an insult to Carol. It’s a comment on the nature of the relationship, not on anyone’s actual age. Of course Carol isn’t old enough to be Daryl’s mom. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t mother him.
Then when Lynn Collins came onto the podcast, she addressed the ageist comment. She basically said everything I said above in more detail. She talked about how she was taken aback by being called that because, being a woman over 40 in Hollywood, she actually deals with a lot of ageism. And about how she's a mother, but became one a little later in life (in her thirties, rather than her twenties) and she was shocked that being called a mother can actually be derogatory to some people. It REALLY shouldn’t be. It’s really sad that people would take that as an insult. And then she went on to say that any character can be maternal, even if they're not the biological mother of the person they're mothering. She even said Daryl is somewhat paternal to Carol, teaching her how to gut a fish and everything.
Now, maybe this is neither here nor there when it comes to TD stuff. But one thing I thought was really interesting was that Lynn Collins said when she first started watching the show in S2 or S3, she was actually a Caryler. She wanted them together originally. She also said that eventually she realized that's not where they were going with it and kind of moved on.
But the thing is, it just proves to me even more that she's being told to talk about it in a particular way. If everything she's said is true: that she was a raging fan and has been in the tags and talking about it a ton (and she says that on the podcast again; that she would get really excited about it and watch with friends and they would tell her to chill, lol) then why on earth would you talk about Daryl and Carol as a mother/son relationship...unless you were instructed to.
She knows how passionate and sometimes toxic the Caryl ship is because she used to be one of them. So that just drove home for me that this isn't something she would just come up with on her own. And I did like what she said and how she said it. I honestly think she's trying to help the Carylers feel better about things, but also let them down gently. And of course there are some hardcore Carylers, like that account that said the ageist thing, that are just never going to give it up. Not much anyone can do about that.
The only other thing that struck me about the podcast, and also brought to mind stuff said on TTD, is that I'm more and more sure that everyone knows what's up with Leah's character. If she's an illusion (and I'll assume she is until we know different) I think everyone knows that. I think Lynn knows it, Norman, Melissa, all of them.
For one thing, she said in this podcast that she didn't know if or when she'd be back. That was kind of a slip of the tongue, I think, because we already know she's signed on for S11, and she's announced it. And they're filming. So that's just untrue. And I thought that about Melissa on TTD, too. She said she didn't know what the Leah story line would be, they only told her a little bit back in Bonds when she had to say "her dog." But Melissa is a long time, mainstream cast member. I just don't believe that she doesn't know where the story is going. Again, just something they're instructed to say. But something else occurred to me, too.
When Melissa talked about the "her dog" line on TTD, she said, "there was a line that became a thing." From that, I have to assume she meant that people started to obsess about it online and wonder what the "her" was about. I honestly don't know if anyone other than TD picked out that line, but they might have. Either way, between this, and their reaction to the Caryler's "ageist" comment, it proves that they read the online theories. And of course we all already know that, but there's proof. That ageist comment was posted like 24 hours ago. And already they're addressing it and obviously don't like it and don't want people thinking the show or its actors are associated with that sort of thing.
Which is exactly why I think they HAVE to know about our Leah-is-a-hallucination theory. Even others outside our fandom suspect it. But the writers aren't addressing that. And don't get me wrong: I don't think they will. The Bonds line was literally MONTHS ago, and they waited until the Leah episode to address it. Because otherwise, they'd have to give spoilers and they weren't going to do that. But my point is, if the hallucination theory was not a thing (kind of like Rick being on TWB was not a thing and Lynn Collins being an ageist is not a thing and Beth not being BBQed at Terminus was not a thing) they would be addressing and discrediting it. They aren't. I’m definitely side-eyeing that.
Daryl’s Search for Rick/Beth’s Search for Liquor
This is something my fellow theorists and I were discussing back and forth for a few days. I’m not going to give you the entire conversation, but someone said something about Beth searching for liquor in Still and couldn’t that be a foreshadow? See—you’ll probably hear more about this in coming weeks—but we’ve been rewatching old episodes like Still, Alone, and others, with an eye toward what we’ve learned from S10 and especially the bonus episodes. And we’re realizing there’s a lot more foreshadowing in them than we ever realized before. Most of what’s in them we’ve looked at in terms of the Bethyl romance and of course Beth’s return, but I for one have never thought to go beyond that. Yeah, I REALLY should have.
So here’s the thing. We always talk about Daryl searching for people, but Beth was searching for liquor in that episode. I've never really thought to connect those two things. It either represents the same template of Daryl's search for her, or it might represent her searching for him. But then, those two templates may be one and the same. I need to think on it more and make more connections.
One thing it did make me think of, though, is that there's a theme about not accepting the first and only thing that comes your way, because there's something bigger, better, happier, more fulfilling down the road. So, Daryl didn't want Beth to drink the peach schnapps because that's a weak drink. He wanted her to have a REAL drink. And of course we've talked about this theme in terms of the peach schnapps before.
But we kind of see it everywhere, including in relationships. The small, short term relationships all follow this pattern. Maybe it’s not a terrible relationship, but it’s not true love, either. So they need to move on from it and find the more perfect relationship for them. The locations or homes do, too. So, in 4b, we saw each of the groups stop somewhere and try to stay. And it wasn't so much that they chose not to. More often than not, circumstances forced them to leave. But still. The theme is that it was better that they moved on so a bigger reunion could take place.
And on that note, Leah really still does fit the short-term relationship pattern. If the point was to always show short term relationships that weren't ideal and something better coming down the road, that's why they wanted to do something like this for Daryl. Beth is obviously going to be the much better, more fitting, more fulfilling relationship, where he belongs, etc. But I think they knew they couldn't do that without doing a disservice to Daryl's character. The only way to satisfy both criteria was to make her a hallucination. So the pattern is still there, but for him, it's not a real or literal relationship.
Find Me Theme
So, @wdway is the one who reminded me of this. Back in 9x05, Rick gets hurt and starts hallucinating right before blowing up the bridge and being taken to the CRM by Jadis, right? All on the same page? Well, in that episode, there’s a huge theme about Rick finding his family. In every hallucination, he tells the people he sees—Shane, Hershel, etc—that he’s looking for his family and needs to find them. Near the end, he hallucinates Michonne and the others being with him on the bridge, and Michonne tells him that they’re his family and he did find them. Then, just before he shoots the dynamite, he says, “I found them.”
And now we have this episode called “Find Me” where Daryl is obsessively searching for Rick, and there’s a ridiculous amount of Beth symbolism thrown in. Are we seeing the over-arching theme?
So, what does this mean? I don’t think I’ve really pinned it all down, yet. But I do think this is an over-arching theme for the entire show. I think in some ways, “home” and “family” are synonymous, because home is wherever your family is. It’s not a physical location.
But we started out with Rick looking for Carl and Lori. Then Merle went missing, and Daryl searched for him. Everyone searched for Sophia when she disappeared. And the list goes on and on. So it’s a big theme. I’ve always said Andy didn’t leave the show just to spend more time with his family. That’s a happy bonus, I’m sure. But this was always a planned part of the story. Now Michonne is actively looking for Rick, we see Daryl searching for his body. And the reason Beth symbolism is thrown in is because he searched for her, but they didn’t show us that and won’t because it would be spoilery. And Beth is alive, even if Daryl doesn’t know it. And yeah, I could go on and on. Just wanted to point out this theme and how important it is. Which leads me to….
The Three Spikes
The last thing I’ll mention is the grouping of the three spikes he sees both by the door and on the outside of the house that we’ve all been trying to interpret. I kind of had a breakthrough the other night. But the thing is, it’s not just a breakthrough on the three spikes.
It’s kind of a breakthrough on the ENTIRE rule of threes theme. It’s actually kind of epic.
So here’s how I came to this. I was going over the template in my head, yet again, that I mentioned is shown both here, in 6x03, and that will be in the spinoff. So let’s run through it. We’ll use this episode, 10x18, as the example. So, Daryl is searching for Rick, right? And Carol wants him to stop and come back with her to where Zeke and Henry are. Those are two possible choices for him. But there’s also a third: staying with Leah.
Similarly, in 6x03, Daryl goes searching for Rick, rather than staying with Sasha and Abraham. Those are the two things he’s trying to decide between, and he eventually goes back to Sashraham.
Now, there is actually a third choice there. It’s just that Daryl doesn’t seriously consider it. The third choice is going back to Alexandria to help them. And this IS addressed in the episode because they talk about how they don’t know what happened, but some loud noise pulled half the herd off the road. We, the viewers, know it’s the Wolves, but Daryl, Sasha, and Abe really didn’t know what was going on there. And who is back in Alexandria, spear-heading the defensive against the wolves? Carol!
So you see what I mean. There are three possible choices there: find Rick, go with Carol, or stay with Sashraham. And I’ve said forever that Sashraham = Beth/Bethyl. And of course so does Leah. So the third choice is always the one that represents Beth.
Do you see where I’m going with this? If not, I’ll just tell you. This represents three different paths for Daryl. They’ll diverge at some point and he’ll have to make a choice about which one to take. And then I realized—duh!—they’re all actually represented for us here in this episode. Not only because of what I said above, but because Leah lays them out in her ultimatum. Where do you belong 1) out looking endlessly for your brother 2) back at the communities with your family (i.e. Carol) or 3) here with me.
So those are the three paths that he’ll have to choose between during the spinoff. That’s what the spikes are about, because they specifically dealt with his three choices in this episode. But that may even be the reason they used the rule of threes around Beth to begin with. She’s the third and correct path.
Want more proof this is a thing? @wdway sent me this pic after I first told her about it:
And guys, go back and watch this. When he gets to the crossroads, the camera pans around him, showing him being unsure about which path to take.
Then, while writing this up, I remembered that this did this in 6x03 as well:
On the left is Daryl on his bike, rejoining Sasha and Abraham who are coming down from the top.
Yeah, 3 paths. 3 spikes. Rule of 3s. Who’s excited for the spinoff? 🙋
Now, just one more thing not add to this I think you all will like. In re-watching 9x05, there’s the part where Rick hallucinates Shane, right? Well, part of their conversation there is about the “third man.” And I’ve talked about this before, but probably not nearly enough, because it’s more important than most of us give it credit for. Rick and Shane talk about when Rick was shot in 1x01 before the apocalypse hit. They say they thought there was only 2 men, but there was a third they didn’t know about and “that changed everything.”
I always saw that as perhaps a statement about Grady. Because they should have had three prisoners for the hostage exchange, where Dawn only had two (Carol and Beth). But after Rick killed Lambson, they only had two. If they’d had three, Dawn wouldn’t have been able to demand Noah back, because it would have been an even exchange. So the third man would have changed everything.
Another way to think about it is that, if the shot that hit Beth didn’t come from Dawn—and it REALLY didn’t, y’all) then there was another threat somewhere that they couldn’t see and didn’t know about. If they had, they might have been able to guard against it. See what I mean? I genuinely believe they used Rick’s arc in 1x01 as a jumping off point for planning what happened at Grady.
So, when I rewatched 9x05 and heard this conversation between Rick and Shane yet again, it made me think of the three spikes and Daryl’s 3 paths. So what if he only knows about the two paths he can take: look for Rick or go with Carol. But there’s a third path he’s not aware of, yet. But the third path changes everything. Because that’s where/how he’ll find Beth.
Eh, eh?
Okay, well, I’ve given you enough to chew on today. These are just some things we’ve been discussing from the episode that just keeps on giving. ;D Meanwhile, episode 19 will be airing in a few days, and it will be fabulous, too. Probably not quite as epic as 10x18, but still fabulous. ;D Thoughts?

i've always found nancy inspirational, but the fact that she came straight back after the insurrection despite direct and harrowing threat to her personal safety just raised it to a new level. and she has been so vocally disparaging towards the people who committed/encouraged it, but has never focused on the threat to herself (which frankly was probably the worst of any politician present, given the way they've treated her from the start), instead the precedent it sets for the country.
Thank you so much for this message. It just seems so wholly typical of Nancy to just go straight back to work after something like the insurrection - and it had everything to do with her wanting to make sure that those who took part in the attack on the Capitol knew they had not won, because it strikes me that everything she does comes down to the good of the nation. She genuinely believes in all those Lincoln quotes she recites.
The thing is, so few in the media even consider the threats against her, which is why I was sort of pleased that the House Impeachment Managers had included the footage of those terrorists roaming the halls, calling her hame out in that chilling way, and the fact that she had to be removed from the entire Capitol complex. The shock some reporters expressed at the latter sort of illustrates how rarely any of them consider her security at all (or listen to her). This is a woman who I dare say has been dealing with death threats since she entered Congress. Never forget, Nancy Pelosi was advocating for groups and causes that although every decent person is on their side now, most were not back in the 80s and early 90s. I don’t doubt for one second that she was already getting vile mail and threats because of her support for LGBTQ groups and advocacy for AIDS/HIV research in 1987, and of course when she became leader of the Democrats in the House, it got so much worse. This is what that angers me the most - Republicans attack her without so much as a single consideration for what it means to her safety, her family’s safety, that of her staff, or the police that protect her. They’ve literally spent decades demonising her, and lately with the help of the far-left - anything for a quick political point score, but with zero thought to the fallout in real terms, how their words could be interpretted by gun carrying individuals and and others who are incapable of understanding the nuances in political attacks - or maybe it’s because such nuances don’t really exist anymore. The political attacks have stopped being about policy and have now become highly personal, the literal brainwashing of people into believing that someone like Nancy doesn’t just have a different political outlook on the world as them, but that she is an actual evil person, out to destory America. The fact that Republicans never get called out on this by the press, that indeed the press have in the last few years become little more than stenographers for that rhetoric needs to be addressed, because whilst Trump incited that mob on the 6th January, plenty of other Republicans have been inciting threats to Nancy for a hell of a lot longer than that. And the truly disgusting part is that they are still doing it. Having seen what happened on the 6th January, having watched that footage and heard the sounds of those thugs combing the halls in a hunting party for her, the likes of Lindsey Graham, Ron Johnson, Mark Meadows etc are STILL engaging in the same language and rhetoric that led to those men prowling Congress to murder her.
Also, consider this; my tagging system is fairly simple. I never use general tags like “American Politics”, “Democrats” etc when posting about Nancy. It’s just her name, and her title. I do that deliberately so as to avoid attracting people who might follow those more generic, wider in scope tags, and are out to troll. And yet I get the likes of these...
There are people out there who are searching for her by name. They aren’t just stumbling on one of my posts because they went looking for something or other about Democrats or American Politics - the only way to find my posts is to look for her by name. These are kind of individuals Republicans incite, and are still inciting. Individuals who have bought into Republican garbage about how she hates America, how she will destroy the country, that she’s a drunk (the irony of that one given she doesn’t touch alcohol). They are actively name searching her and leaving messages like this on a nobody’s Tumblr account. If I am getting messages like that, consider what Nancy is getting!!! What her staff have to read every hour of every day. Consider what Christine gets! It must be godawful, and yet Nancy doesn’t complain, because if she did she’d be accused of a) being a “snowflake”, or b) not tough enough. The system is stacked against her - verbally attacked, physically hunted, but because she is a woman, and women must be super tough and show no fear at all or else be considered weak, she has to endure the abuse.
Thank you for also highlighting that she never talks about the trauma in terms of herself - it always is about how others have been affected. It seems so very her to approach trauma like this - end of the day, Nancy is a mother first, and it always shows (her presser yesterday, she ended by telling the press corps to be careful going home because of the weather). I don’t think she can help it, but also, she doesn’t get a choice. I’ve wondered a lot about the Stahl interview over the last few weeks, and the fact that she never once asked Nancy how she was after the attack. Reid was the same a week later. And whilst it may have been the case that Nancy requested them not to, that seems unlikely - journalists rarely react well to having their questions censored, which means neither thought to ask her. No one asked “How are you after what happened, Madam Speaker?”, which says it all really. I mean, she probably would have dodged the question anyway and spoke about her staff because Nancy always focuses on the effects of trauma on others, but it is also true that no one ever thinks to ask about her or give the option to talk about herself. She is continually an after thought for the press, unless she eats ice cream or makes the mistake of believing the word of her hairdresser.

Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder rant
Seeing Natalie Portman returning to reprise her role as Jane Foster, nevertheless wielding Mjolnir, finally getting the treatment this character deserves, was surreal to say the least. I had just started reading Lords of Midgard, the 8th issue of Mighty Thor (2015 - 2018), and had fallen in love already. But I didn't suspect at all that Taika Waititi would pull this card in Thor: Love and Thunder, considering Jane was barely mentioned in Ragnarok. The news about my favorite actress portraying one of my favorite characters coming out of the blue - you can imagine the excitement. Alas, I quickly remembered what the fandom thought of that comic (at least on tumblr) and imagined it now growing tenfold, cuz not everyone in the MCU fandom reads comics but pretty much everyone wants to watch another Thor movie. And yes, many fans weren't ready for this step, still recovering from Sam Wilson getting the shield in Endgame. Which is completely fine. We're not obligated to like everything Marvel throws in our faces, we're allowed to criticize and express our opinion on the internet or wherever. What is not okay is mindlessly hating, and even worse - using false facts to support said opinion.
I have seen some people using the argument that it is one of Marvel's worst selling comics. Which has already been proven wrong by multiple sites, including Comichron, just Google it, as I did myself. I read multiple posts, ones saying how good Jane is doing as Thor in sales, others disproving this, so I checked for myself the numbers at the site mentioned above month by month to be sure. The comic truly had its downfalls as the story progressed but in my opinion it's normal for the 1st issue to have more sales than the 21st. If we compare it to Unworthy Thor, which started running a bit later and followed the now unworthy Odinson, the data shows the latter had more sales. But then again, while Might Thor was at its 17th issue, Unworthy Thor was at its 2nd. Also, they later crossed paths, shared comic issues, it's fair to say they go hand in hand and Jason Aaron, the author, probably doesn't want us to compare them, as they complete and compliment each other's stories. Still I decided to check the comic that made Thor unworthy in the first place - Thor: God of Thunder (2012 - 2014), which seemed to me more "comparable" to Might Thor (2015 - 2018). *I keep putting the years it was being released so as to not be confused with previous Mighty Thor issues, whole Odinson was still Thor, please bear with me* So yes, the numbers were pretty close, but from what I saw, Mighty Thor had the upper hand if we compare first issue to first issue and so on. (In defense of Odinson, we have to take into account that this data is only from the US and does not include digital sales. Also, he's been around since the 50s. We could argue Jane was a breath of fresh air that some Marvel fans were indeed ready for. As a non-American, and also a person without a hint of knowledge in economics I cannot take into account inflation and whatever else has prevented or enabled Americans to get their hands on the comics or has affected prizes through the years. Bear that in mind.) Moreover, from what I saw on Comichron, both comics had much competition - God of thunder was released along with Avengers vs the X-men, the Uncanny X-men, pretty popular at the time, and the Goddess of Thunder faced Civil War 2 and DC Universe Rebirth (yes, DC is in the game too), also dominating with tremendous sales for the longest time. Yet I stick with my original statement - both Thors are valid and shouldn't be put against one another regardless of profit. Because at the end of the day what will matter the most is the story. And boy, what a story it is.
Now, I haven't read the Thor: God of Thunder, but as I was doing research I found one very well written summary and explanation of Thor's arc and his becoming unworthy and I will post a link below, because I honestly feel I wouldn't be doing this comic a favor by describing it without having read it. Which I plan to do in the future, tbh. It's a fantastic prelude to the Mighty Thor (2015 - 2018) that I've come to love. First, I'd like to ask you all to stop hating on the comic without having read it first. It doesn't make any sense and being petty for the sake of being petty won't benefit neither you, nor anyone, really. Now, about the comic itself - the art is magnificent. It's just gorgeous. Mighty Thor isn't , thank all the gods, sexualized, she is pretty buffed and generally looks like a warrior. As it is with the other characters, I dare say. The background truly captures the essence of every world Jane finds herself on. Action scenes are just the right amount and balanced with dialogue well. On a side note, it's pretty funny to read/listen to in your head the Shakespearean English cursive in which Jane talks as Thor. The plot line branches beyond this comic, starting from Thor: God of Thunder and leading to the War of Realms. And it is elaborately built in every issue. You don't know what to expect, yet it makes sense when it happens. Which leads me to the characterizations. My God, what a treat Loki is in this. Clearly, my opinion is kinda biased, since he's my favorite character, but you never know which side he's on. What his motivations are. And it just feels so... Loki. His writing is brilliant. Almost makes me forget what the MCU did to him. Also, he gets some daddy time with Laufey (not as kinky as I make it sound). Frigga/Freyja is just as awesome as in the MCU, even more, at least in the comics she calls Odin out on his shit, who btw is I guess an asshole in every version and universe. Malekith, the main villain, is unbearably despicable, I want to tear every page he is on. He really was mishandled in the Dark World, if you want some true action with the dark elves, you are welcome to enjoy. I saved the best for the end - Jane Foster/ Might Thor. Now, if you think Dr. Foster spends her time boasting about her worthiness and how Odinson is just called Thor, but she is Mighty Thor, you are horribly wrong. She just... does her job. Because the hammer chose her. Because there's no one else to do so. That's it. If you think there's some feminism involved, yes, there sure is, but it certainly isn't the reason Jane became Thor in the first place. It was not the creators going SJW because it's trendy, as such a mindset is honestly offensive to any descent creator with any self respect, but a well thought out story arc, which, I repeat, you have to read the comic to understand. Jane is not at all whiny about the hate she gets in-universe, not only from foes like Odin and who-not, but from Shield and generally people whose asses she's saving. Her having cancer is not something they pulled to provoke sympathy and make her look like a victim - on the contrary, she is a damn hero and a victor. I don't want to give out spoilers, but her being Thor is actually a giant sacrifice that no one really appreciates (both in-universe and in the fandom). She is not Thor to prove she can be, or just to prove "women can be heroes" - she doesn't have to. She is simply needed by the realms and so she does her job, even though she is called a thief, persecuted and generally hated. All that matters is that the hammer finds her worthy - the beauty and simplicity of that fact you will find out, for the last time, if you read the comic.
I'm not making you read the comic or watch Thor: Love and Thunder. I myself don't know what to make of this film yet because there's barely any information about it. I only know it will be based on the comic so that's a reason for my hopes to be up already. On the other hand, since I didn't like Loki's characterization in Ragnarok, I'm not sure what to expect from Taika. There are valid reasons to not like the idea of Jane returning to the MCU as Thor, which you are entitled to. However, reasons such as "why does everything have to be political these days" are not. Because if I had to make a list of everything politically related in the MCU, it would take forever. Steve Rogers kills nazis is the most blatant example. Make of it what you want. But I think we're far enough into the 21st century to realize art and real life are not that separable. It's undeniable that art affects people and that is to say, people everywhere. And they all have different opinions and aren't gonna like everything media is offering to them. And I wish I could simply tell you not to watch the movie but I'm a Marvel fan too and I understand that I can't just take away Thor from you because I want Mighty Thor as well. But none of us can stop Marvel from producing it. So, to quote an image I saw recently, I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people. Let the rest of the fandom enjoy what they want to enjoy. Yes, ik I can play around with the tags and avoid posts that unnerve me but, for example, I'm looking up Mighty Thor fanart, which obviously isn't anti-Mighty Thor, yet I get attacked in the comics for anticipating a movie that doesn't even have a full cast yet. Ik I'm not asking for too much when I wish to get the same internet experience (not only tumblr, but also insta, YouTube, Twitter, any site) as the Thor Odison fans, for example. I'm aware I cannot stop all the toxic fans and the trolls but I hope this post has inspired those of you who simply can't envision Jane as Thor, or don't like Natalie Portman in the role, or whatever eles personal preference that doesn't involve political issues and isn't harmful to the community, not to attack every post on your dash with hate. The movie is called LOVE and Thunder, for God's sake. (on a side note, is a franchise that is too afraid to show LGBT characters for more than 1 minute so as to not lose profit from China, THAT politically correct)
Anyway, that was a veeeery long rant, sorry to whoever reads this but, like, please, I put effort into this, hoping this time around I won't be the only positive reviewer of a movie, like I was with Solo: a Star Wars story (yes, I'm still bitter about this), which was boycotted for no apparent reason but was a decent film in reality, and I'm only bringing it up because it has a similar experience to Love and Thunder for getting hate before even being released. I'm not defending a billion dollar company that flopped in box office once, I'm defending the viewer's right to media they are interested in. If you don't like the character, remember - that's your opinion, not a fact that the character sucks. Kudos.
Not very easy to navigate, I advice you to do the research month by month individually for comics you'd like to compare. Also, if you happen to find more reliable data, pls say so in the comments.
Here you have the summary and explanation of the greatness of Thor: God of Thunder, Jesus, I'll go bankrupt if I buy this one too.

Yes, I want to end the sales dispute once and for all, I'm tired of seeing it on my dash. This guy probably explains it better than I did.

DISCLAIMER AND RULES
These are the UPDATED directions/guidelines for all who want to participate/contribute to this blog. Our topics of conversation revolve mostly around 30 Seconds to Mars/the Leto Bros, but we have been known to also discuss various other current events around the world.
By reading, and especially by contributing, on what goes on around this blog, you are willingly agreeing with all guidelines and directions I have mentioned below - no exceptions.
I am willing to give a space to those who wish to discuss Mars (or other topics), and I am washing my hands from any and all fuckery that may ensue from other people´s opinions.
Also worth mentioning: I am fully aware that some people who publicly and very vocally denounce any interest in either this blog or Mars gossip lurk around this blog and then spread shit elsewhere on the internet.
By doing that, you are essentially outing yourself as a quiet kmp78 admirer, so to speak.
Or a fangirl, if that suits better. 🤗
Alright then... READ.
1. This blog is laced with sarcasm, jokes, stupid and often very dark humor and PERSONAL OPINIONS - both mine and the people who participate in our conversations. This is not CNN, BBC or even Fox News - this is a personal blog run by a (sort of) fan. Not someone with inside information, and not someone whose opinions and views should be taken too seriously, and definitely not as gospel. I have no direct access to anyone in the Mars organization, and I do not work for them.
2. Nor do I work for YOU. This may be a blog which is mainly used for discussions about all things Mars and all opinions and topics are welcome, but the only one in charge is ME. I decide if a message gets published, if a message gets edited, if a message gets deleted - and if the sender gets blocked.
And not that it really needs to be said, but here goes anyway: I do not work for any Leto troll either.
3. And speaking of blocking:
those who send threats or offensive messages will be blocked, as will anyone who I deem block-worthy. Rest assured, I never block anyone without a reason, so if you should discover that you have been blocked, that means I had a reason. I may or may not inform publicly when a person has been blocked, depends on my mood.
4. Everyone who sends messages is responsible for their own words - I do not accept any blame for other people´s opinions. Misunderstandings by accident or on purpose are not my headache. If I suspect a message will potentially cause unnecessary problems or annoyance for me, I will not post it (or will edit it), and I don´t owe anyone any explanations as to why I´m not posting it. I may explain, or not - that´s up for me to decide.
In any case, as I said: I will not take responsibility for anyone else´s words other than mine, and screaming at me over here or elsewhere online regarding comments someone else made and I posted...
Well, that´s just infantile. 🙄
5. All opinions are welcome, positive AND negative. A positive opinion does not automatically make you a sheep, and a negative opinion does not automatically make you a hater.
Readers to this blog should be adult enough to handle both sides.
6. Calling women sluts or whores is not ok here.
You also need to be able to tell the difference between calling a woman a whore and calling a Leto a whore. If you can´t understand the difference, then get out immediately.
SPECIAL CLAUSE:
the term “YACHT GIRL” when used in connection with an actually legit model who YOU ARE JEALOUS OF BECAUSE SHE GETS TO BONE A MAN YOUR FLABBY LOINS BURN FOR, actually is the equivalent of you calling her a whore, so kindly DO NOT.
Use whatever brain cells your parents genes bestowed upon you and make them at least somewhat proud. That should hopefully partially make up for the disappointment they most probably are already feeling knowing you actually read and participate in this shit.
7. What is also not ok is accusing people of crimes, calling them psychopaths, or threatening others with physical violence etc. - not even sarcastically or as jokes.
Think of it this way:
when typing your message, if at any point you think that what you are writing might come across differently or more seriously to the person reading it than to you while writing it - then do not write it. Any innuendo about people´s potential “social diseases” is not welcome either, and neither are accusations of “obsessions” and people “stalking” the men this blog is focused on. Be VERY careful when using these terms.
YOU are responsible for your own words. I cannot stress that enough.📣
8. We use a lot of initials and nicknames in our conversations - for a reason.
Do not use people´s real names in messages.
If you do not know who a particular person is, please come ask via chat (directions on how to use the chat feature can be found here). I may or may not blur out a name in a message if I think it´s necessary.
9. I post a lot of pics, gifs - and most of them are found from Google using various search terms, and sadly have no tags or indications as to who is the owner/maker. I don´t own any of the pics or gifs, or videos for that matter either (except the ones I have made and labeled as my own). If you find something of yours posted and prefer not to have it up or to have your name added as credits, please let me know and I will remove it.
As for links to either newspaper articles, IG accounts, other blogs or the like: you can find credits to the sources by either clicking on the links, or if I have decided to post screen caps, in the pics themselves. Again, I do not write articles or make videos and very, very rarely post anything other than other people´s comments - after all, this is prominently a discussion blog now. Opinions/messages from other people represent THEIR views and thoughts, my views/thoughts can be seen in my answers (in case of submits or multi-part messages, you will find my contributions to the message after this sign: ***).
To make this very clear: we don´t make news here, we discuss them.
10. When sending submits, if you are unsure of others potentially seeing your “ID”, please mention in your message that you want to remain anon and I will post it anon. Also please remember tho that there is no such thing as complete anonymity - so be careful when writing down your thoughts. Censor yourself if necessary - don´t make problems for me or others, or yourself.
11. I use Statcounter on this blog, which means I can see IP addresses from people visiting this site. However I choose to use that information is up to me, so if you are scared shitless of being outed due to your own actions/words, then DO NOT COME HERE.
If I out your IP, then there is a reason for it.
Don´t give me reasons if you want to remain in the shadows.
(And same goes for chat messages btw: don´t pretend to be my friend in private, but then turn your back and stab me in it in public. More often than not I WILL find out, and if I choose to then out your bullshit by posting private messages, THAT´S ALL YOUR OWN DOING, KIDDOS.
Play nice with me and you have nothing to worry about.
Start kicking dirt in my face and...🤷♀️
12. If you are addressing your message directly to someone (= other than me), please say so CLEARLY in your message, for example by starting your message with “For anon who said...”, or something along those line. I have had it with misunderstandings and unnecessary messes due to unclear messages! BE SPECIFIC!
13. ONLY write either in English or Finnish. I won´t waste my time on Google Translate, I have enough on my plate as it is and your weirdo mongrel lingos are boring as hell anyway.
14. DO NOT SEND MESSAGES WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF STIRRING UP SHIT - OR TO INSULT OTHER COUNTRIES OR NATIONALITIES. That would rank quite high the PATHETIC categories...
15. I won´t post content from so-called private/non-celeb accounts such as Leto trolls (= VK for example IS a celeb so whatever she posts is most deffo getting posted, but anything posted by Lesser´s harem probs won´t be).
16. READ PREVIOUS MESSAGES! READ PREVIOUS MESSAGES! READ PREVIOUS MESSAGES! READ PREVIOUS MESSAGES! READ PREVIOUS MESSAGES!
I´m beyoooooooond bored answering the same questions over and over again, sometimes in the space of just a few hours! The archives and search option are available on my blog for a reason! USE THEM. 😠
17. When sending messages containing info or “receipts” or whatever it may be that you think we should be made aware of, either clearly state WHERE that info can be found and WHO you are talking about. Do not simply send a message a´la “VK can be seen on Monica´s/Richard´s/Beatrice´s IG. We don´t know who these people are! You may, but we don´t! I do not follow a single model or fashion industry creeper on social media so FIRST NAMES mean fuck all to me. GIVE FULL DETAILS OR SHUT THE FUCK UP.
18. IF I SAY A TOPIC IS OFF-LIMITS, THEN YOU WILL RESPECT THAT.
19. I usually try to post messages in the same order they have been sent - with a few exceptions:
If a situation arises which calls for “immediate attention” (new troll pics or other sudden Mars-related activity, for example), I may leave older messages for later and focus on newer ones first. Also when I am operating on my mobile, I am often unable to post certain messages (videos etc.), so those will be left for later when I am back to an actual computer.
20. More often than not, tumblr fails to deliver messages to my inbox. If you suspect that yours has not been delivered, please send it again. I don´t mind getting duplicates.
21. If I feel that a message offers no relevant or needed content, I won´t post it. For example, a message such as “JL & XX in Japan bang bang” is unnecessary and pointless and not worth posting. I only have 250 allowed posts per day, and on busy days I have to make judgments on what is worthy of posting and what is not. I apologize if I therefore have to skip some messages.
When I run out of allowed posts here, I will let everyone know that I am switching over to use the secondary blog which can be found at @kmp78secondaryblog
(PLEASE NOTE: That blog is ONLY used when we run out of room here, and I never go there unless I have to so please don´t send any messages to that blog unless I inform we have to move there!)
AND FINALLY PLEASE REMEMBER:
THIS IS A FANDOM FOR A BAND. NOT A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. ACT ACCORDINGLY.
Creating hater accounts dedicated to POSTING PICTURES OF MY BLOODY EYEBALL (that btw actually happened because of course it did! This is the echeLOOOOOON after all! 👍) won´t make me quit this blog, so...
Yeah.
Anyway, for further information, please contact me via private message here, on my IGs, or at [email protected].
Thank you. 🙏
PS: In case you run into accounts/comments made under my tumblr “identity”, or otherwise unauthorized “kmp78″ activity outside of tumblr which you recognize as being linked to this blog in any way (such as my posts being tagged with JL´s tags etc.), please report them immediately, both to the admins of the sites you found these accounts on, and to me directly so I can take appropriate action, thanks.
Any of my personal pics taken from this blog have been taken without permission and I have never and will never give permission to post them anywhere. And when I say I “appropriate action”, I mean just that. If need be, I will be contacting the authorities, like I did when I received public death threats.
Be very aware that my tolerance for that is less than zero - and also be aware that these guidelines and my rules may change whenever I feel the need to change them.

What the ever loving fuck is wrong with you people?
You people You Antis, NST, Truthers, Haters, wtfer name you want to be called or are called. You people. You know I’m talking to you @noshippingallowed @contemplatingoutlander @goldenoutlander @adhara112 @aliceinoutlanerland (oops you forgot the d in outlander. get a d.) @whylimewhyanything (put the lime in the coconut) @whoreallyknowswho (it’s whom! whom! unless you just forgot to finish your sentence) @prodigiousreblogger @bestof60 (are you 60?) @vividdreamer318 (your imagination is certainly leading you astray) @breezylouisey (is that you weezy?) @momofmusa (i thought you were mom of USA lol) @alittlebitmasss (oops your s key got stuck) Anyway, there are more of you and I’m sorry I didn’t give you a moment of thrill by acknowledging you by name but I mentioned the Tumblr accounts that I’ve seen making horrendously wild, hateful, fictional, hurtful accusations against other Outlander fans with no speck of proof - accusations meant to inspire others to emulate you and spread hate to those people as well. Let me get this straight. From what I can tell, you are super hopping mad about the content of certain Twitter and Instagram accounts. Fine. Totally fine. You are entitled to your opinions. I can see why those accounts might make some people mad. I mean, irrelevant to my life but maybe not yours. You are mad that certain Twitter and Instagram accounts have been created for the sole purpose of throwing shade and mocking a certain celebrity you hold in high esteem. I get that. Fine. Be outraged! Express yourselves!! Speaking of fine I know you will go through this post with a fine toothed comb for anything you can argue with and attack me over because god forbid you actually read the message, digest the information, thoughtfully consider the content and then share your thoughts and opinions and maybe answer some of my questions. Nope that’s not your style. Attack attack attack half-cocked and don’t put any thought or concern for reality into it. Yes you are the borg of Antis as the foil to the Shippers. I didn’t create that world, you did. You wanted to be the anti-shippers. You are gathered on Tumblr together to be this Anti-Shipper fighting army. Go forth and fight uhh I guess? WHY???? See, shippers are motivated by love. That’s really obvious. There are all types of shippers just as there are all types of people (and even all types of antis), but what brings them together is not just their love of Outlander (and you guys love Outlander too! Whee we have something in common) but their love of the LOVE parts of Outlander and all the LOVE associated with Outlander in promos, BTS, interviews, Q&As, social media banter between the cast and crew, etc. LOVE is LOVE is LOVE is LOVE is LOVE is LOVE is LOVE is LOVE. So you generally don’t see shippers on social media attacking people with hatred and lies and accusations of criminal activity. Wait wait wait. Correction! YOU see shippers doing those things but no one else does. You mostly see shippers doing those things with accounts that aren’t even recognized shipper names. They are basically troll accounts that you have deduced are shipper accounts. You do have these long convoluted narratives of what certain shippers are alleged to have done and you bandy them about so frequently that your telephone game grows legs and walks it’s own marathon and becomes some weird beast-mode attack shipper who does horrible things. You say you SAW these things but you haven’t. Show me a tweet, a facebook post, an instagram post from an Outlander fan who identifies herself as a shipper and has a known persona in the fandom and is attacking, hating, committing these horrendous crimes you claim. What I mean is, SHOW ME THE MONEY! SHOW ME PROOF to back up your narrative. You have specifically named a number of Outlander fans and made outrageous claims as to their character, behavior, beliefs, actions, off-line actions and more. YOU HAVE NO PROOF BECAUSE THESE STORIES ARE FICTION. I’ll give you an example of how your lies have grown wings, run a marathon and turned into beast-mode: So a certain blue check account posts that a certain object of your hatred and hate-mongering did something so illegal that she would have been arrested and would still be in jail. You all headnod, mouth breath, feel righteous for having attacked her because you were soooo right, bang away at your keyboards and continue the lies and hatred and stoke the fires for uhhh fun? Yet you all know that she isn’t in jail and couldn’t have done this highly illegal thing because you watch her every move and you saw her posting pics of herself just last weekend participating in a fitness event. Hmmmm. Are you collectively dumbing each other down with your groupthink or all you all that stupid? YOU KNOW IT’S A LIE. But you’ve all convinced each other it’s ok to lie about it, malign, spread hatred and misinformation about certain fans and tarnish their reputation in the fandom because… because? because why??? Help me out here. So it’s because someone has said rude bad things to an actress you believe is Sam Heughan’s girlfriend even though he has never once said so. You BELIEVE it so it’s your reality. And the fans that you malign? You do that because they believe something else. But the weirdest thing is that you do malign them by tossing out totally unfounded and false accusations about their behavior and ascribe all kinds of unsavory activities, motives, and behaviors to these fans you have chosen to malign. You do the thing to them that you so claim to hate they are doing to the objects of your admiration. I’m still working on this and I still need your help. So because you BELIEVE that two actors are dating and BELIEVE that it’s wrong that internet trolls make claims that they are not and some internet trolls say really rude things and tag them, you feel fully justified in making claims that the trolls are not just trolls but actual recognizable Outlander fans. Are you like shippers of trollworld or something? I’ll just come right out and say it. Kim Hickey is not behind any of those trolls accounts you claim she is. I know this and you know this. You know which accounts are legitimately hers because she identifies herself. You are even attacking her My Peak Challenge account that she posts inspirational memes and encourages people to donate to Bloodwise. Are you for fucking real? You’re attacking a charity endeavor in your blind hatred of…. hatred of who fucking knows. Even if you didn’t know she wasn’t behind the troll accounts, you absolutely have no basis for claiming she is. You are making shit up and publicly proclaiming it as truth just like that thing that Shippers do that you claim to hate. Also, let’s talk about me: I am a public person online. I don’t hide behind cutesy names. You can look me up and it won’t even be doxing me because it’s all right there, isn’t it? I have no sock accounts. I put my name on all my accounts because I own what I say and share. This tumblr account was created in the middle of last summer as a parody of Starz Obsessable campaign therefore it did not need my name on it. I never had a Tumblr account before that and I have never even sent anons on Tumblr. I never pretended I was anyone else or made any attempt to be anyone else. I posted freely about myself and my life when it was topical, including photos of myself. If you were like BINGO I’m such a supersleuth I figured out who is behind that blog!! you’re not smart or observant. It was obvious. The thing is, though, shippers didn’t know who I was. Not because they didn’t know who was behind “Obsessive Sassenach” but because they didn’t know who Nipuna was. Isn’t that funny? One of the Outlander fans on the top of your BAD SHIPPER LIST WHO MUST BE EXTERMINATED list isn’t even known by other shippers. What makes me a shipper? Just that I have heart eyes for Sam and Cait and think they have chemistry and oh wait, whoah, ZOMG, Arthur Kade thinks that too. Josh Horowitz does too! and ummmm ummmm that one lady at TCA that one year and that one book author who was on the NYT best seller list and you know I could go on. It’s not a crime to be fully happy to enjoy Sam and Caitriona’s chemistry. And if that makes me a shipper, yay. But the only reason I’m actually a known component of the shipper community now is because you guys have dragged my name around and created ridiculous lies about me. It’s like I’m some sort of Shipper Legend (to you, not shippers) who does these super crazy Shipper things in AntiLand. Remember the grave story that was created by one of you weirdos because a family friend of mine who is a caretaker for a military graveyard in the USA was friends with Sam’s father? You guys turned it into: That Crazy Shipper Nipuna stalks Sam’s father’s grave in hopes of running into him and Caitriona making a baby on his dad’s grave in Scotland. Or something like that. Anyway, tour bus guides in Scotland think there are crazy Outlander fans who stalk Sam at his father’s grave but if they stop to think they realize they don’t even know if he has a grave or if it’s even in Scotland. You’re maligning the whole fucking fandom you freaks! You’re creating these outrageous, convoluted piece of fiction because you are all worked up about uhh something and then you tag other nasty people and get them to repeat the stories and then the stories get embellished and repeated and you sit back and watch the telephone game continue. But don’t you realize that you’re fucking the whole thing up for yourselves too? I mean, I guess not if you like chaos and mayhem. But most of you profess to care about people being nice and kind and cry out that bullying is bad and wrong. But then you do just that when you pick an Outlander fan and create detailed and convoluted lies about her behavior. The people you lie about know they are lies, sure. And lots of other people know they are lies and ignore you, but you repeat the lies over and over and you know that saying about how if you repeat a lie often enough people will start to believe you. So you repeat and repeat and then sit back and with self satisfied smiles. Or maybe it’s just that your mouth is open because you’re breathing through it. Whatever. I don’t know your motives. I don’t know what attracts you to fan the way you do. I don’t know what fulfills you. I know it’s not LOVE. But do you even know? Are you just running around half-cocked and brainless and letting yourselves be lied to? What gives? Can you help me understand why you are constantly naming and targeting certain people and pointing others to attack them and if that doesn’t work creating stories that will hopefully motivate them to attack? WHY???

Regarding the Witchways Alternate Reality Game (ARG) and the Witchcraft Community
First off, let me assure you of a few things.
I myself am a real person and a practicing witch. I've studied magick in various forms since I was a teenager, and while I've detoured into things like ceremonial magick and Thelema, my main focus is witchcraft, and also Tarot (hence the diviner part of my name).
I've been on Tumblr since September of 2014, and I strive to create interesting, helpful and informative content for fellow witches while improving and practicing my own writing ability and learning more and more about magick.
So, yeah, I'm not a fictional character, since some folks were asking. I also don't think witchcraft or witches are a joke or game in real life, but magick has a long tradition of appearing in fiction, and as someone who has even verged into pop culture magick before, I personally have never saw a problem with writing fiction about witches, even if it verges into impossible magick.
Christinia (@vaguemagick) and her (admittedly quite creepy) mentor Leda are fictional, though. I know, because I'm part of the ARG troupe that created them, and, in fact, I wrote many of the scripts for the ARG, namely outlines for Chris's blog posts and scripts for the videos that will eventually be posted as part of the game.
Some folks have been saying they're getting tons and tons of messages from many different blogs that are part of this game, but I'm afraid those messages are either from actual witches and being misinterpreted, or were sent by opportunistic trolls, because there is exactly one blog involved in this (Chris's blog).
Some other characters were planned to show up later and we have accounts for them (empty), but right now, Chris's blog is the only ARG blog in the community whatsoever.
As well, I do want to note that Chris's blog has not been sending out private messages or asks to any actual witches, aside from those who contacted us via the website specifically asking for a trailhead. The blog in question has been responding to messages it receives and reblogs, but beyond that, there is not, nor would I want there to be, a horde of fictional witch characters invading our community.
And, as you might expect given recent events, it goes without saying that from now on, Chris's blog and all related in-game Tumblr blogs will have a disclaimer on them, and all posts will be tagged with ARG.
The main reason a disclaimer was not included originally was, as silly as it sounds, tradition. As you're probably aware if you've been following this, traditional ARGs (such as I Love Bees, the Beast, and ChangeAgents) did not include disclaimers.
I'll admit I'm not entirely sure how the tradition developed, but during this game's development we consulted with some ARG players, most of whom said disclaimers break the verisimilitude of the game and that they disliked them. Nevertheless, given things being as they are, I think we can all agree that disclaimers are necessary now.
As you can see from this tag, I've run alternate reality games before with various troupes, nothing major and many of them were quite small. I mention in my bio that transmedia storytelling is a major interest of mine, and has been for some time.
I'm also one of those people who often likes to combine my interests, so around fall of 2015, I began thinking about designing a witchcraft-inspired alternate reality game, and gathered together a small troupe to do that.
The idea was to have a game designed by witches, for witches. As in, a game that, while having some fantasy elements, would feature mostly actual witchcraft practices that we (the main creators, witches ourselves) are familiar with and actually practice ourselves. We thought this would be a neat twist on the fantasy genre, which, as I think we all know, usually has very little in common with actual magical practices.
Someone had made a comment earlier that we're treating witchcraft as a joke and disrespecting actual witches. While I understand most of the concerns people are having with interpreting the blogs as real, I must say I can't understand that comment.
As an actual witch working with other witches on this game, I certainly don't believe I treat witchcraft as a joke, in this context or any other. Witchcraft can and often needs to be light-hearted, but it's not a joke, and, as a witch, I know this. The game is fictional, yes, but I honestly don’t feel like we’re disrespecting witchcraft because we, as witches, have created witch characters. The other concerns, regarding confusion being caused, I do completely now understand.
As alluded to in this post, we conceived of the concept of this game and the basic storyline in late 2015, and spent that time putting it all together, finding people for various tasks, and putting together the puzzles (which, yes, there will be puzzles later on). We had planned to fully launch the game in April of 2016, but that didn't materialize due to financial considerations and the fact that at the time I was impromptu relocating to Poland. We, at that point, shelved the project for almost a year.
A few months ago, I personally began poking at the assets created for the game again, and discussing it with other people who had worked on it. We eventually decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and relaunch it, so we made plans to do that, and created new sites.
I made a series of posts (visible, again, in this tag) about this, both to the blog @alternaterealitywitch and to @maddiviner, about the site and game launching. Given the positive response I seemed to get from the community with regards to these posts, we decided to go ahead and launch the game.
Unfortunately, as you all likely know, many people felt deceived when the game formally launched (we count the post about the package as the launch, long story) and it became apparent that it was, in fact, just a game.
A lot of people felt it was deceptive and manipulative for us to make posts to Chris's blog that could be mistaken for a real person's account, and at this point, given all the conclusion, I have to concur that it was a mistake. As I've said, all future ARG-related blogs will include a disclaimer. As well, all individual posts will include the tag #ARG.
I really do have to apologize for this. It was never my or anyone on the team’s intention to manipulate or deceive the community, and I was quite naive to assume that most people in the community would have seen the initial posts about this and know the blog was a game. I also must apologize to those who messaged or directly interacted with the character's blog not realizing it was a character blog prior to the package post.
We were both unaware of what was really going on, insofar as 1) they thought the character was a real person, and 2) the ARG troupe thought they were playing the game, when in reality they didn't know it was a game.
In any case, I hope this clears things up and prevents any future mishaps or problems. Once again, we're quite sorry about all this, and most of what has happened today was unanticipated by us. In hindsight, many mistakes were made, and we must apologize for our lack of forethought.
On a final note, an apology for not addressing this sooner. We’re scattered around timezone-wise, and many of us had other commitments as well. This all transpired overnight where I am (Poland) and it was only upon waking that I became aware of the confusion.

If You Manage Your Social Accounts on the Go, You Need This App
Does your job require you to create great social media content, keep on top of social chatter, and reply to all the comments on your social accounts?
In other words, do you have a boss who expects you to be chained to your laptop 24/7?
How can you do it all, especially when you’re also supposed to meet clients, attend networking events, and have some semblance of a “work/life balance?”
You could consider cloning. Well, that or trying Agorapulse’s mobile app. Only one of these options comes with a free trial and the following features:
A Social Inbox
Keeping up with Twitter comments might be the hardest thing to come back to if you’re away from your laptop. Ever have to do this after 30 minutes away from your Twitter feed?
That’s why having all your Twitter profiles in one handy mobile app is so helpful. Tap through each profile to quickly like or retweet mentions. Bookmark a tweet to deal with it when you have more time — or better yet, assign it to a teammate.
Recently, Instagram has restricted third-party tools from interacting with public content. That doesn’t mean you have to be in the dark about what’s coming into your inbox.
Use the Agorapulse app to quickly review your Instagram comments. Bookmark or tag the comments to find them easily when you get back to your desktop. (It’s there where you can click “View on Instagram” to comment and like that content anyway so you can be compliant with Instagram’s new rules.)
Or again, assign a comment to a teammate and lighten your workload.
On Facebook, you can clean both your inbox and your Page. You can review, like, bookmark, tag, and assign comments as you’ve seen above. But you can also hide or delete inappropriate comments so they don’t fester and start a firestorm.
We also support YouTube — little-known fact that I wish wasn’t so “little known.” Get your videos’ comments and tag, assign, and hide what you need to.
Social Listening / Monitoring
The Agorapulse mobile app doesn’t just let you in on conversations happening with your brand. It also informs you of conversations that might be happening about your brand (or competitor or market trend).
If someone gives you a public shoutout on Facebook by tagging your Page, you can like, bookmark, assign, or tag the post.
Find a tweet on Twitter that you don’t want to leave untouched? You can publicly interact with it by replying, retweeting, or liking it. Internally, you can bookmark, assign, or tag it.
Yes, it’s true that you can no longer like or comment on an Instagram post from a third-party tool. But you can still keep on top of great user-generated content with the Agorapulse app. While you can’t immediately interact with the content you see, you can bookmark or tag the content to deal with later though a link on the desktop app.
Set up YouTube keyword saved searches on your desktop and watch the results roll in on your app. Like a video or start a conversation with the creator by leaving a comment — as I did here as a result of my “hand lettering” saved search.
Then bookmark (as I did in the above example), assign, or tag as you wish.
Publishing Options Galore
It’s not just incoming content that’s made easier for you with the Agorapulse mobile app — it’s also the great content you send out to your followers.
If you have a business Instagram account, you can publish directly to your profile. No more annoying “push notifications.”
If you’re at a conference or live event and want to send one piece of content across multiple social profiles or networks, you can do that all from one screen.
Whether you publish to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, or LinkedIn (or any combination of these), you have the option to publish straight away — as you might want to do for a live event.
For content that can — or should — go out later on, you can add your content to a queue. You can even select a Queue Category to send it to. The Solo-in-Vegas photo is probably best suited for “Agorapulse Culture,” don’t you think?
If your timing needs are more exact, you can use the “schedule” option to assign a future date and time to your content.
Easy Collaboration
If you have to approve posts or tweets before they go live, you can do that on the go with our mobile app. Edit, delete or approve content while you’re waiting for your Unicorn Frappuccino. (YES, I know it was a limited edition drink. You still catch my drift, no?)
Built-in CRM
Want to learn more about those who interact with your brand? Simply tap a profile photo you see in your inbox or monitoring results.
A tap on Darcy’s Twitter photo gave me this information.
From here, I can follow or unfollow a user or add a customized tag.
Due to privacy safeguards set by the social networks, the profiles on Facebook and Instagram are not as detailed. However, you can still add a user to your “favorites” by tapping the star under the user photo (or under the place where the photo should be on Instagram). You can also add custom tags. This should make for easy categorization of the users you find on these two networks.
Bonus feature for Facebook: You can ban a user — super handy to stop a troll in her tracks.
The CRM feature also allows you to keep track of your YouTube community. From here, you can follow/unfollow, tag, or favorite any user. You can also ban a user — if you’ve been a YouTube creator for more than six months, you know that is a very handy feature.
If you’re an Agorapulse subscriber, you have access to this free app on the Apple or Google app store.
If you’re not a subscriber, why not give an Agorapulse free trial a whirl?

“Some defendants, posing as U.S. persons and without revealing their Russian association, communicated with unwitting individuals associated with the Trump campaign and with other political activists to seek to coordinate political activities,” the indictment said. Among others, it said, the Russians contacted “a real U.S. person affiliated with a Texas-based grass-roots organization,” who advised them to focus their efforts on “purple states like Colorado, Virginia and Florida.”
The indictment did not name the activist, but Mr. Miller said in an interview that the mention had set off a slightly unnerving guessing game in his state as to who the helpful Texan might be. It was not him, he said.
“Every organization in Texas that’s been politically involved over the last few years is sort of eyeing the other ones,” said Mr. Miller, whose group decided not to endorse the Heart of Texas rallies. “Mueller’s team needs to clarify this.” (A spokesman for Mr. Mueller declined to comment.)
Sometimes the Russian efforts fell flat. Dr. Brown had challenged Blacktivist on Twitter because it seemed to be an out-of-town group, yet it was calling for a Baltimore rally to mark the anniversary of the death of Freddie Gray, who sustained a fatal injury while in police custody. The pastor had no idea just how far out of town.
So when I confronted #Blacktivist for pushing a #FreddieGray rally in #Baltimore I was disrupting an op from #Russia?https://t.co/Wso8RSyYqt pic.twitter.com/x2BwmtzHeM
— Dr. Heber Brown III (@HeberBrown) Sept. 29, 2017
“The way you’re going about this is deeply offensive to those of us who are from Baltimore and have been organizing here all our lives,” Dr. Brown wrote to the stranger.
Seemingly chastened, Blacktivist replied, “This must be really wrong. I feel ashamed.”
The pastor replied: “Post a public apology. Cancel the event and take your cues from those working locally.”

The Heart of Texas group had more success with a Houston rally to “Stop the Islamization of Texas,” which provoked an angry confrontation in May 2016. United Muslims of America, another Russian creation, called its own rally to “Save Islamic Knowledge” for the same time and place, outside the Islamic Da’wah Center.

A dozen people who turned out for the first event, some carrying rifles, Confederate flags and a banner saying “White Lives Matter,” faced off across a street with a far larger crowd of counterprotesters. The police kept the crowds apart, and there was no trouble at the event, which was caught on video.
Later, on social media, some puzzled participants complained that no one from Heart of Texas, which had about 250,000 likes on Facebook, had shown up for the group’s own rally.
But the online pitches reached a big audience. In written answers to questions from the Senate Intelligence Committee, Facebook said some 338,300 people saw the announcements of rallies promoted by the bogus pages — and 62,500 said they planned to attend one. Those numbers are modest against the background of the entire presidential campaign, but they show that the Russians were able not just to attract Americans to their ersatz groups but actually manipulate their actions.
“The fact that they got people to show up at real-world events is impressive,” said Renee DiResta, the head of policy at Data for Democracy, a nonprofit that has studied the Russian activity. “What we have is an engine for reaching people and growing an audience, which is fantastic. But this shows that it can be used for very shady purposes.”

How Do Russian Bots Work?
How do bots and trolls work to infiltrate social media platforms and influence U.S. elections? We take a closer look at these insidious online pests to explain how they work.
By NATALIA V. OSIPOVA and AARON BYRD on Publish Date October 31, 2017. Photo by Aaron Byrd/The New York Times. Watch in Times Video »
Facebook’s vice president for advertising, Rob Goldman, said on Twitter on Friday, “I have seen all of the Russian ads and I can say very definitively that swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal” — a statement that President Trump retweeted.
But Mr. Mueller’s indictment repeatedly states that the Russian operation was designed not just to provoke division among Americans but also to denigrate Hillary Clinton and support her rivals, mainly Mr. Trump. The hashtags the Russian operation used included #Trump2016, #TrumpTrain, #MAGA and #Hillary4Prison, and one Russian operative was reprimanded for “a low number of posts dedicated to criticizing Hillary Clinton,” the indictment says.
A glance at the Russian posts supports the idea that they focus on candidates. Heart of Texas ran an unflattering portrait of Mrs. Clinton with the tag “Pure Evil”; posted a fake photo of her shaking hands with Osama bin Laden; and paired her with Adolf Hitler as a supporter of gun control. Mr. Trump was shown surrounded by police officers wearing Trump hats and grinning outside a fake cage with Mrs. Clinton inside.
While most of the Americans duped by the Russian trolls were not public figures, some higher-profile people were fooled. The indictment mentions the Russian Twitter feed @TEN_GOP, which posed as a Tennessee Republican account and attracted more than 100,000 followers. It was retweeted by Donald Trump Jr.; Kellyanne Conway, the president’s counselor; Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser; and his son, Michael Flynn Jr.
They have expressed no regret that they were apparently taken in by the Russian operatives. Instead, since Friday’s indictment, Donald Trump Jr., like his father, has pointed mainly to the fact that it did not accuse the president or his associates of assisting the Russian operation.

Rogues and resistance
Over the last few weeks, when I could tear myself away from my twitter maelstrom of doom, I have been reading Anthony Gottlieb’s The Dream of Enlightenment. On pp. 198-190 I came across Adam Smith’s eulogy of David Hume (1711–1776) in which he recounts a visit to the dying philosopher. During that visit Hume told Smith about how he distracted himself by engaging in an imaginary dialogue with Charon, the ferryman in Greek myth who carries the dead across the river Styx. Here is how Hume imagined his conversation with Charon, pleading with him not to let him die so soon: “’Have a little patience, good Charon, I have been endeavouring to open the eyes of the public. If I live a few years longer, I may have the satisfaction of seeing the downfall of some of the prevailing systems of superstition.’ But Charon would then lose all temper and decency. ‘…[T]hat will not happen these many hundred years. Do you fancy I will grant you a lease for so long a term? Get into the boat this instant, you lazy loitering rogue.’”
Just before reading this passage, I had been thinking about writing a blog post about rogues and resistance and this got me into the mood of actually writing it. What would Hume have thought, had he come back across the river Styx to visit this modern world? He would have hoped that through the efforts of enlightened philosophers (and scientists) the eyes of the public might have been opened and all systems of superstition would have vanished. How surprised would this old rogue have been about the state of the modern world! He would however been heartened perhaps at finding a few ‘rogues’ carrying on the dream of the enlightenment and resisting the forces of darkness.
The rogue explosion
So what about ‘rogues’? I am not talking about rogue elephants, but unofficial twitter accounts! You will probably all have realised by now that: “’Rogue’ accounts that have the look of those by real [US] federal agencies are spreading like wildfire on Twitter.”
It all started, I believe, after President Trump threatened “the removal of scientific data from government websites”, such as the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA now has (but the situation is changing daily) various ‘aliases’ and strap-lines, as listed here: AltEPA @ActualEPAFacts (He can take our official Twitter but he’ll never take our FREEDOM. UNOFFICIALLY resisting at the @EPA); altEPA @altUSEPA (The Unofficial “Resistance” team of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Not taxpayer subsidised! Environmental conditions may vary from alternative facts); Stuff EPA Would Say @EPAWouldSay (We post info that Donald Trump censors. We report what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency would say); U.S. EPA – Ungagged @ungaggedEPA (Ungagged news, links, tips, and conversation that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is unable to tell you. Not directly affiliated with @EPA.)
Other scientific organisations followed suit, most famously perhaps various park rangers. There are numerous articles about this, which I won’t summarise here. One tweet encapsulates the situation quite well (and humorously): “First they came for the scientists… And the National Parks Services said, ‘lol, no’ and went rogue and we were all like, ‘I was not expecting the park rangers to lead the resistance, none of the dystopian novels I read prepared me for this but cool.’”
The AltUSNatParkService Twitter account calls itself “The Unofficial #Resistance team of U.S. National Park Service”. This account “appeared shortly after the Badlands National Park’s official account posted several unauthorized, but highly popular, tweets affirming climate change. The tweets were later deleted, but they can still be seen in the many screengrabs captured by Twitter users.” (see Scientific American).
Rogue twitter accounts started to mushroom and the list of these ‘twistance’ accounts is growing (and changing). Many use hash-tags, such as #resist or #resistance when tweeting. The rogue White House account has this striking twitter image (on 28 January, 2016).
It is interesting to note that @AltNatParkSer has now become @NotAltWorld, probably because the prefix ‘alt-‘ has become negatively connotated (alt-right, alternative facts and so on).
What this account and many others want to stand up for and preserve are ‘facts’, a diminishing currency in an increasingly fake world. On 26 January the account tweeted: “Several of us are environmental activists and two are journalists [our FACT checkers]. All of us are former scientists.” Responding to queries about this anonymous account and who is behind it, they tweeted on 25 January: “We are definitely real! Come visit us at Mt Rainer National Park.”
The rogue confusion
In principle this type of resistance by social media is a good thing. These are uncensored accounts telling people ‘the truth’ about things…. However, it’s also quite confusing, because now, alongside the rogue/alt-government accounts, we also have parody rogue/alt-government accounts and even fake rogue/alt-government accounts, as Karen James tweeted. For example Rogue NASA recently tweeted: “Warning: @NASAGoneRogue seems to be a fake anti-climate change troll account.” (To make sure whether you are dealing with facts or fakes, fact accounts or fake accounts, it might be good to read these guidelines and pin this poster on your door.)
This confusion is nicely discussed in an article by Kalev Leetaru for Forbes Magazine (28 January, 2017). He also points to something quite confusing about this confusion: “Indeed, the blind trust in such anonymous accounts was particularly striking coming just two months after issues with a similar anonymous source claiming to be a set of propaganda experts.”
Regarding science/climate change communication, there is also a danger highlighted by Leetary: “by combining discussion of climate change with political and personal attacks on the administration, the accounts have made it that much easier for opponents of climate change to argue that even supporters of climate change discuss it in the context of politics rather than as a non-partisan scientific topic”. The article is worth reading as a whole, as it raises issues around this rise of ‘anonymous science communication’ which need to be explored further.
And, of course, there are the eternal questions as to whether science should become political, is too political, should never be political, etc. In my view, these are the wrong questions though. ‘It’ (science) is and should never be political, but scientists can be and should be and are. In the US they are now standing for election for example.
Rogue voices and silences
It is noteworthy that while rogue science and politics accounts are vocal in their condemnation of various policies implemented by President Trump, official science and politics accounts are still relatively quiet. I haven’t checked many twitter accounts, but I haven’t seen anything much happening on the accounts of the British Sociological Association, the American Sociological Association, the Royal Society, the UK STS association AsSIST-UK, the various Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) community sites, and so on – I might be wrong, though and I’d love to hear from people who can point me in the right direction.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science tweeted a rather luke-warm condemnation of President Trump’s immigration policy. It says that “Scientific progress depends on openness, transparency, and the free flow of ideas. The United States has always attracted and benefited from international scientific talent because of these principles.” It’s certainly the case that the new presidency in the US and Brexit in the UK will do immense harm to openness and the free flow of ideas. The statement also says that a ‘balanced’ approach to immigration is needed. However, a rogue account would probably have condemned the immigration policy more strongly and said something about human rights and the law. Rogue accounts are also trying more decisively to keep the flow of ideas going and to keep science and politics open.
In contrast with such silences, some universities and many individual scientists and groups of scientists, science writers and science communicators, technology innovators and companies, and researchers and academics most broadly, are making their voices heard on twitter and beyond. Some scientists on twitter have even begun to apologise for the fact that their tweets are increasingly about politics rather than science.
Science and governments in exile
There might be some confusion about rogue accounts and parody accounts, but rogue twitter accounts are here to stay until the world has switched back to a state where discussions about science, culture and knowledge are officially valued again. In the meantime, as Leetaru said in another article: “These new accounts also raise the fascinating question of whether ‘alternative’ or ‘rogue’ or ‘resistance’ social media accounts will become a new norm even in Western nations that have not typically had a history of ‘governments in exile.’”
A long time ago as a child in the 1960s I saw the premier of the British film Fahrenheit 451, directed by François Truffaud and based on the 1953 dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury. The last scene still sticks in my mind, where Guy, the hero of the film, joins a group of outcasts in the woods, rogues one might call them, who each had memorised a book that had been burned. Are social media and the rogue twitter accounts our new outcasts in the woods? I bet David Hume would have opened a rogue twitter account, if he was still around. In a sense, we are all rogues now!

Facebook Jail: 20 Important Tips To Avoid Being Blocked By Facebook
Chilling stories abound of interesting and sophisticated Facebook users that suddenly found themselves in “Facebook Jail,” for breaking Facebook rules of engagement. Such hitherto active and prosperous Facebook users would suddenly realize one day that they are no longer allowed to post any links from their personal websites or blogs to their personal timeline, Facebook groups and/or even on their Facebook Pages. Stay away from Facebook Jail Some are even get to experience the popular biblical baptism of fire treatment after waking up one promising morning, only to discover that their entire Facebook accounts (both business and personal) have been deleted, leaving them with the only option of starting afresh. If you consider the huge amount of time and resources you or your company have committed into social media marketing, it can only be devastating to experience such Facebook Jail treatment. Worst still, Facebook has made it extremely difficult to appeal their decisions or even talk to a live person, who can hear you out or perhaps explain the sudden blockage. Bellow are 20 tips on how you can avoid being put in such unfortunate situation. These tips will greatly help you to stay away from Facebook Jail: 1. Do Understand Facebook’s Terms of Service Most sanctions on Facebook can be avoided by following their rules. Unfortunately most people do not read them. Avoid Facebook Jail today by reading their TOS that relate to your area of use at least. 2. Don’t use a business name for a personal profile/timeline name You cannot create a personal Facebook account using “Susie’s Sweet Shop” as the name of the account, just so you can post within groups and elsewhere as the name of your business. Profiles/Timelines are for real people and need to use your real name. 3. Don’t use Auto-Add scripts Some scripts will save you the hustle of adding multiple members to a Facebook groups but what you need to know is none of these scripts will add over 800 friends without getting you restricted. If you are trying to add less than 500 members then you might be successful but try and keep a limit. 4. A person can only have ONE Facebook account From your personal account you can create multiple business Pages but you can only have one personal account. Use your Account Settings to add multiple email addresses to your account if you want to make sure business contacts can find you easily. 5. Do not post overly promotional items on a personal account One of Facebook most controversial rules is that your personal Timeline cannot be used for commercial purposes. In general when you are sending a marketing message including a link or call to action, it should be from a business Page, not a personal Timeline. Sure you can talk about what you are doing in your business, and also share other official information, but including a link to where they can buy or sign up crosses the line into promoting, and Facebook wants all of that to occur on business Pages. 6. Avoid posting your web link to multiple places within Facebook in a short time When sharing your business website link within Facebook groups or other Pages, even when it is encouraged by the group or Page admin (such as on Facebook Friday) avoid doing so in multiple groups in short succession. It is never a good idea to blast your link all over the place on the web anyway – it appears desperate and spammy. 7. Don’t post Restricted Content Restricted content will not only get you banned from posting in Facebook groups but might also cost you your account. Such content include links from Adult sites, Fraudulent sites. You can read Facebook’s community standards and know the kind of content they don’t allow on the social network. 8. Use Auto Posting applications the right way Auto posting applications do work and will help you post to multiple Facebook groups or pages at once. If you post to very many groups in a day then you will get blocked from posting on Facebook groups and lose your developer’s account as well. When using any Facebook multiple group poster, try to keep the time interval between the posts to at least 30 seconds and post to less than 30 groups a day. 9. Add reasonable intervals between your posts Whether it’s because of enthusiasm, in a productivity rush or persistence, we often end up posting identical content in multiple groups or pages at the same exact time. This is the type of behavior that gets us into trouble with the “Facebook Police” that are always on the hunt for SPAMMERS. If they notice that you are sharing the same information everywhere all at once, it’s very likely that you’ll get thrown into virtual Facebook Jail. Lets say you are auto posting 5 posts in 2 seconds, this will automatically alert Facebook spam detectors but if you add at least 10 seconds in between the posts it becomes harder to be identified. If you are posting 30 posts try and keep a 5 seconds interval, 60 posts try and keep a 15 seconds interval, 100 posts try and keep a 50 seconds interval. It’s possible to post to 100 groups in a day if the right intervals are set but still it’s not advisable to post more than 100 times consecutively in groups with one account. You can try posting 50 times then post another 50 after 5 – 7 hours. 10. Do not use Facebook Messages to send promotional content to multiple people at once without their consent Facebook does allow you to send a message to up to 20 people at a time but this function is designed for people who all want to discuss something – not for someone to broadcast an advertising message. When you send a group message, every reply or activity on that message is sent as a notification to all 20 people, and this gets annoying fast. Members in the message will click the settings to leave the conversation and mark it as spam. It is against Facebook’s rules to send commercial messages to people without their consent. 11. Do not repeatedly send the same message to different people or post the same item in different places This is tracked by Facebook and seen as spam or harassment. If you have a useful, non-commercial message to send (say, connecting with someone for your class reunion) simply vary the wording and personalize the messages or posts. If you want to share your blog post to several different groups, simply add a caption that is relevant to the place you are posting it on Facebook, so it is seen as a unique post. You can also spread them out over time to be on safer side. 12. Watch for competitor saboteurs Unfortunately, since it is so easy for people to mark a post, Page, or message as spam, it has recently been discovered that unethical competitors may simply be trolling you, your pages or posts and marking them as spam, whether they are or aren’t. If you are aware that someone might be doing this, the first step would be to ban them from your profile or page. This way they will not be able to see your posts or interact with your pages. You can also visit their personal Timeline and click the little gear and then Report/Block them individually. 13. Do not friend-request people who are not likely to accept you or are not expecting it Facebook logs both your unanswered friend requests and your rejected ones. If you have too many people who did not accept your friend request (no one knows the magic number) you might be considered a spammer, since they will often friend-request many people they do not know. Also when people delete the request on their end, Facebook makes it easy for them to mark you as spam. Remember Facebook is a social network, designed to be used to stay connected to people you know. This is especially important if you have no mutual friends. 14. Do not private message someone who is not your Facebook friend This is an automatic red flag and although Facebook has a small tolerance for it once in a while, if you do this too often you will surely end up in Facebook jail. The assumption is that if they wanted to receive messages from you, you would be friends. This is similar to the opt-in rules of the CAN-SPAM act whereby someone needs to acquire written permission to be able to email marketing messages to another. Facebook does not want to get in trouble for spamming any more than you do. 15. Outdated applications that violate Facebook’s terms can flag your account or get your business Page taken down This one is scary since for a long time many people used apps to create landing pages for their business Page and the companies that created the apps and tools to do this were not in compliant with Facebook’s terms. It was recently reported that apps/tabs that take users off of Facebook can get flagged. 16. Only tag people in posts they appear in AND which they would approve Never tag someone that is not actually in the picture, and never when you aren’t 100% sure they would appreciate it. Everyone gets a notification when they are tagged and if the person removes the tag and then reports the tag, you are at risk. If you want to alert someone to a post, tag them within the comments. 17. Only use images you are 100% certain you have permission to use You cannot grab an image off the Internet and use it unless it has an open creative commons license or you have purchased a license, or you have permission from the originator. This includes whether or not you have altered the image, or included it in a collage or “polyvore” style post (those aren’t for commercial re-use) or even if you got it from someone else and assumed THEY had permission. It’s your responsibility to be sure. The person who created the image can very easily do a “reverse image search” to find all the places the image appears, and mark your post as an intellectual property violation which Facebook takes very seriously. 18. Do not copy and paste someone else’s post or image to repost Facebook sees this as duplicate content which is similar to how Google does not want exact copies of the same blog post or article – it does not serve its readers to have multiple copies, unable to credit the original. Best to simply click share and then add your own content. If you see something you want to say that is similar to someone else’s post, create your own verbiage so it is different. 19. Do not friend-request people you do not know or aren’t otherwise connected to Social media is actually about connecting with people, not collecting people. The reason for this is that after people ignore your friend request if they do not want to add you back, Facebook asks if they know you. If they say NO that they do not know you, your account is flagged. I do not know the magic number but if your account is flagged too many times, you are blocked from sending friend requests, since it appears you are adding people to spam them. 20. Do not promote your business on other business’ pages or walls without being asked Whether it is a “wall post” or a comment, it is not OK to visit another business and tell their network all about yours. Would you go into a store and pass out fliers about your store across the street? The page admin will likely delete your comment and mark it as spam, flagging your account.
