#but oddly enough I think I prefer this version lmao

Haha I never process ShinRan in my adult brain. Him always gaslighting her is so true LMAO To tell you the truth, I dislike the whole childhood friends to lovers theme, so I don't have much care for many canon relationships in the manga. I gravitate towards the more fun (thus CoAi; BO is a fun plot and it's the centre plot of theirs) or even toxic (like Kogoro and Eri, but omg Kogoro is a POS who doesn't deserve her).
I don't know if my opinion is unpopular but I prefer Conan to Shinichi, even if they are the same person, so I haven't the idea of ShinShi. In an AU, if ShinShi somehow met (without the APTX 4869), how and what would it be like in your opinion?
ShinRan just seems so childish to me now compared to back when I was a kid🤣. Same, I don't really care for that trope, but especially in Detective Conan because it's so damn overused😭. I think the only couple that isn't childhood friends to lovers is Takagi and Sato. Oddly enough, the only canon couple that I actually like with that trope is HeijixKazuha (who are FINALLY canon after all these years.) Idk why but they've just always felt like the better version of ShinRan to me.
On the one hand I want Kogoro and Eri to get back together, but on the other hand I think that she deserves so much better than him, even though it's plainly obvious that they still love each other.
It.... Might be an unpopular opinion? But I definitely understand that feeling, lol. Conan and Shinichi honestly feel like they're two different people when they aren't, and it's because Shinichi has changed a lot during his time as Conan. Also because of the fact that whenever he's thinking to himself, he still sounds like Conan, whereas in the English dub (which is what introduced me to this series) he sounds like his teenage self. Which makes it easier to remember that Conan and Shinichi are the same person.
Without APTX 4869? They wouldn't get along AT ALL at first🤣. Shinichi would still be an arrogant dumbass who thinks he knows everything and is the greatest thing to ever happen, and Shiho would not want to entertain nor tolerate his bs. So she would find him extremely annoying. With Shinichi I feel like he would find her interesting since she's the only girl (other than Sonoko, but she hardly counts) who doesn't seem interested in him at all and doesn't act like one of his fangirls. So basically, he'd see her as a mystery he needs to solve.

Hello again,
It's not that I think I'm really boring, it's just... well, I'd have a lot more to say if we weren't going to have to reveal ourselves at the end of this, you know? Speaking of which: Is there anything in particular that you wouldn't want to receive at the end? I can take a guess at some things you might like from what I know about you so far, but I don't want to get you something you already have, or that's not safe for bugs or something (like how dogs can't eat chocolate, and certain plants are poisonous to cats).
That game you were talking about sounds fun! I don't have a computer, but if I did maybe I'd play it too. Though, wouldn't camping be kind of a waste of time while you're in that type of situation? Making tunnels is smart though, I should use that strategy if I ever play it.
I can't say I eat much sour stuff, though it's not like I have a sweet tooth either. I guess I prefer salty/savoury stuff? But If I had to choose between sweet and sour, I think I'd go sweet.
Ah, I wasn't really planning on having to answer those myself... if that's the case maybe I should choose better questions this time, though I guess you can always ask me completely different ones anyways. It's harder for me to answer these since I'm supposed to stay anonymous, but I'll try my best.
I guess my favourite colour would have to be... maybe red. It just feels so vibrant and powerful and cool looking, you know? But I also feel the same way about blue, oddly enough... people always say blue is calming, but there are some really electrifying shades of it. And there are dangerous blue things too, like the ocean... I guess I'm not really sure. If I pick purple, does that count as both? Though purple itself isn't my favourite.
My favourite food is. Well, it's hard to pick just one, isn't it?
If I could make five wishes... see, this is the hard part. I kind of wish you were really anonymous, knowing that I'm going to have to look you in the face later just makes this too embarrassing (or incriminating). Though I do feel more comfortable writing this letter than the first one. Well, the pen pal version of my five wishes would be: 1) To be a great and powerful mage, 2) For my family and I to be healthy and happy for a long time, 3) For classes to be easier, 4) To end world hunger forever, and 5) A blastcyle
My day was alright I guess. It wasn't better or worse than my days usually are, though it by all means should have been considering these living changes.
Okay, for this next round of questions, why dont you tell me: What's your favourite class? What's your favourite animal other than bugs? Would you ever get a tattoo?
Mandatorily yours, Pen Pal
Hi Mainly things to avoid are pesticides and insecticides…. If you give me these I am making you eat them. Only weird people would appreciate such gifts. I guess also anything like toiletries…I don’t know I guess some people like them but I always feel like those are a secret insult where you're telling the other person they smell or something. I mean if things aren't made awkward you can always come to Ignihyde and try it out if you want. We can even handicap ourselves so you have a chance to win. Though you misunderstand the terms Camping and tunnelling, I guess it's hard for a normie to understand gaming lingo lmao. If you do want to brave face me in this game we will have to give you some normie to gamer translation cards. As for taste you can have things that are sour and sweet at the same time. I mean Lemons are often put in deserts and drinks right? But I guess it's an acquired taste. But sweets are always good. I really want to go see the maple taffy display but it would be weird to go alone…Everytime I peek in there's always groups of people and it's loud and annoying. Ah well maybe I’ll order some online to be delivered. You seem weirdly indecisive like you can’t just pick one thing to deem your favourite. I always find that quality weird and annoying. Would you be the type of person who when you ask what you want for dinner goes ‘I don’t know, what do you want?’ How irritating… As for your wishes, you're not really going for Miss Twisted Wonderland here you know… bar the last one, your wishes are so boring textbook answers. I’m hoping that to put me off trying to figure out who you are. As for the Blastcyle…I have never ridden one. I only tried to drive a car once and I crashed my brother's car into a ditch…. I haven't done any further attempts to drive anything since…. Fine, your questions: Favourite class. Well, I am pretty good at analytical magic. It helps sharpen my cardshark skills! I enjoy working out the mechanics behind magic and even peoples unique magic can be fun to break down to concept and mechanics. It makes it easier to work out counters too. Animals other than bugs. I like snakes. I even have my own, Snake-eyes who is an Arid Albino ball python. He’s rather placid and sometimes likes to hang out around my neck while I'm playing games or coding. As for tattoos…hmm maybe I have never really thought about it. How about you? It seems you have considered tattoo’s if you asked such a question. Another question: what do you hope to receive for the holidays and or gift exchange? Anyway I have rambled on far longer than any of us care for and people want to play games. Lets see if I can rinse them of there Thaumarks TTYL Rove
#yeah i'm the boogie man!#oh? antivirus? haha#nru: exchange 22#hmmm the conspircy grows XD#I'm sorry Rove is such an Ass!#his present if going to be a punch in the face and it will be deserved

Well I'm dying to talk about Castlevania or I'll explode so here's my tier list for the "modern" era, regular timeline (non-LoS) games (basically SotN and onward), in honor of me getting the Platinum trophy for Dominus Collection last night :)
Reasons under the cut:
S Tier
Portrait of Ruin - LOOOOOVE this one. It's been my fave since pretty much the very first time I played it back on the DS and still is after my recent replay with the collection. Jonathan and Charlotte are just such fun protagonists and stand out a lot in this series, and I think the story is actually pretty decent in this one. By CV standards lol. Soundtrack is AMAZING, please listen to "Gaze Up at the Darkness" because it RULES. PoR also has very fair boss fights and a fair level EXP gain rate, and good drops from enemies too. The paintings are super neat too, mixes up the usual "well, here's Dracula's castle" of most of the games.
Lament of Innocence - I actually think OoE is an objectively better game overall, but I have a lot of love for Lament and am one of its big defenders so I'll put it one slot above lol. Leon! My favorite Belmont! He goes through the wringer in this game, and it's a very interesting origin story for the Belmont fight against Dracula. The gameplay is fun, kind of DMC-lite but with a whip (and cool elemental versions you can get from some optional fights). The level design is a lot of long hallways, but it has good atmosphere, and the game doesn't overstay its welcome as it is pretty short. Another FANTASTIC soundtrack too btw.
Order of Ecclesia - a game I didn't like at all back on the DS but fell in love with after my Dominus replay. Once the gameplay clicks, it is so satisfying swapping glyph loadouts and hitting weaknesses on enemies. You have to play smarter in this game, and it was fun improving. Hype as hell when you finally get to the castle, too. Shanoa is a very cool protagonist and has some of the best lines in the series, and I'm unabashedly obsessed with Albus. GOD he was so asdjfk;ls sorry, but damn was he perfectly tailored to my tastes. Story was good in this one, actually made me a bit emotional ngl, which is something I don't expect from this series lol. I lose my mind over the songs "Sorrow's Distortion" and "Rituals" just so you know
A Tier
Aria of Sorrow - extremely good game where the handheld ones found their footing fully, with a very cool concept of "what if Dracula was gone, but maybe he isn't ;)" Soma is iconic for good reason, and the Soul System is fun with a lot of options, even if I'm not nuts enough to ever try for 100% soul completion lmao. The castle is a little small in this one and it feels oddly short for the Metroidvania-era games, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like the almost... soft?... look of the visuals in this one. Graham is also one of the villains I kinda like the most in this series, so that's cool.
Dawn of Sorrow - Pretty much Aria of Sorrow 2 lol. But I think it loses a little without the novelty of AoS's questions about Soma as the Dark Lord and all. Also, the villains in this game are fucking goobers lol, their character designs are godawful. Other than the castle being larger this time around, I think DoS doesn't really do anything different than AoS, and since I'm a freak who values story, I prefer Aria overall. That said, Julius Mode is pretty sick and I think Dawn's soundtrack is a little stronger overall.
B Tier
Symphony of the Night - I feel like it's blasphemy putting SotN this far down, but I honestly think it is a bit overrated. Good certainly and extremely important to the franchise, but also kinda jank to go back and play. I don't like the way equipment or items work in this game, and I'm not... super fond of the castle layout compared to the higher tier games. Inverted castle is also kinda meh, the only time I like that is when PoR did it with the paintings. However, I do love the original PS1 dub of this game. Absolutely iconic. The newer one sucks because it's so safe that it loses the charm. Like, come on. I think a series that has giant Frankenstein's Monster enemies shooting bullets out of its elbows can afford to have some cheesy lines and voice acting.
Harmony of Despair - a really fun multiplayer game! But it could use more maps (that it'll never get since it's long been abandoned 😭), and character balance is a little iffy. But I have a lot of fun with this one, even just with two players! It's functionally co-op Metroidvania, what's not to like? I think this game would do quite well with a revival on modern consoles and cross-play, and I dream of a world where that exists and they add new DLC. why the hell wasn't Albus in this game btw, like wtf he literally was playable in OoE and had sprites available
Harmony of Dissonance - ...this is confusing putting the two games with "Harmony" in their name right next to each other when they're not connected at all lol. Anyway, I like HoD, but it has some definite issues, the most of the games in this tier. The visuals are... hoo boy. The color palette is a bit much. And the music is uh... it's infamous in the series for a reason. The sad thing is that I think the actual compositions are solid, just hamstrung by the shitty Gameboy sound chip or whatever, and I'm someone who usually likes retro game music. Gameplay is solid, though! The A/B castle thing is kind of annoying because this game has some atrocious warp room locations IMO, but it's fun being able to dash and slide with reckless abandon as Juste. Wind+Bible is also a godly subweapon combo
Grimoire of Souls - damn you, Apple Arcade, for having this as an exclusive. I can't speak to the gameplay on this one for that reason, but I watched a whole 3.5 hour playthrough for the story, so I'm judging on that, mostly. A fun little plot that let characters from a lot of different time periods/games interact, which is cool. Lucy and Hermina were good original characters, too. Death in this game was kinda 👀 Lol I kid I kid, I only have eyes for Albus, who was not nearly as important in this game as I'd hoped but had an extremely nice scene with Shanoa, so it was worth. Jonathan and Charlotte were also very entertaining here, as always. I'll be real: those three were the whole reason I watched this tbh
C Tier
Circle of the Moon - this game is SO HARD. Like, I eventually got good in Order of Ecclesia to overcome the difficulty, but that moment of understanding just never hit me in this game. And there are no shops!! Oh my goooooooood, why??? If you could get potions more easily, it might be a little more reasonable, but I don't think the drop rates were even that good to make up for it. The boss fights were so tough, man... If I give this another try, I might have to do the DSS glitch, which I didn't know about at the time.
Curse of Darkness - Real talk, I don't remember this one very well at this point. I mostly just remember not liking the Innocent Devil system or the map design that much and thinking it was disappointing after I loved Lament so much. Maybe I'd like it better if I tried it again now, I dunno. Not much to say here. I like Netflix!Hector better though :(
D Tier
Judgment - Look, I have some good memories from this game. I used to play it against my sisters. I was super excited for it at the time. But it's just a super jank game. And the story mode is BAD (aside from a few characters). Like, I can handle anime cringe. But this is the BAD kind of anime cringe, the "boob envy"-kind of anime cringe. Maria's story is *gag sounds* Also not a fan of the roster choices here. CV3 in particular gets way too much rep, the GBA-DS era not enough (only Shanoa, and even then they murdered her design???). I can't believe Soma at least didn't make it in, a character with so many moveset options? Good for Cornell being in though, nice seeing the N64 characters actually acknowledged and he had one of the better story modes too. Speaking of characters, who thought it was a good idea to do a game that was functionally a big ol' celebration of the series with character designs that so drastically changed most characters into being unrecognizable? The Death Note expy jokes are played out, but they're so true nonetheless. The worst thing is still Maria's story mode and especially her interaction with Sypha, though. I cannot stress enough how bad it is. It makes me feel embarrassed just thinking about it lmfao
#if this somehow ends up in any of the tags i'm so sorry#i just wanted to spew opinions to myself and anyone willing to humor me lmao (but not in the actual main tags; just on my blog)#h.text#h.VaniaVomit

ok look i didn’t expect to write anything tn but after i came up with this it had me thinking, like which quad would be the biggest stoner?? idk why prolly childhood trauma but i just get OBSESSED with NRDD when im high and need to consume (watching it or reading about it) and/or create (writing about it) content relating to it, either the canon kid version of the quads i grew up with when *i* was that age (i’m 20) or the modern-day fanon version where they’re young adults. oddly enough it’s just very cathartic for me; get me an edible, some comfort food (preferably mac and cheese and/or lucky charms), some PJs, and classic Nickelodeon family sitcom Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn and i will be having literally the BEST time of my life. but anyway this got me really curious about the quads as stoners so ig i’m writing a blurb about it now
again the quads are AGED UP to their current canonical age (19/20) in this plz don’t cancel me.
kinda a mix of being a fic blurb/HC blurb and me just ranting my thoughts
i am SO fuckinf stoned writing this ohgmyfk
Nicky
i feel like Nicky could very easily be a contender for biggest stoner of the quads tbh. modern Nicky is a total indie kid, let’s be honest, so, like, peak demographic tbh. in my fic Disaster i did write Nicky as not being interested in weed or alcohol (and not out of personal bias, i was literally high when i wrote this fic lmao), but i wrote that nearly two years ago and honestly i feel like Nicky would be a lot more into weed than booze tbh. but i do get where i was coming from when i wrote him as not getting into that stuff cuz he was always sorta the “innocent one” on the show, sure Ricky is the goody two shoes teacher’s pet, but he’s also a scrappy lil fuck. Nicky is always kinda painted as the “good boy” (often to Dicky’s “bad boy”, unless Ricky is the aforementioned “good boy”) (think the remote episode), so it would make sense that he doesn’t dabble in drugs or alcohol. and honestly, i could totally see him going either way. either innocent kid that refuses to try it or massive stoner, no in between. tbh i feel like he was once the former before becoming the latter. same.
Ricky
Ricky is SO hesitant to partake ohmygod. definitely not the biggest stoner but when his siblings finally wear him down and convince him to try it (Ricky complaining about peer pressure the whole time) he does enjoy it, tho he won’t admit it. partakes rarely, usually sativa to help him focus and be productive
Dicky
MASSIVEEEEE stoner. honestly only rivaled by post-weed-awakening Nicky imo. this man looooves the za. he’s just such a chill “whatever dude” on the show even as a child, so just IMAGINE college age Dicky. definitely the one to introduce the other quads to it, and the first quad to try it. tbh i def feel like Dicky started it but i can’t decide if he introduced it to Nicky or Dawn first (as established Ricky was most reluctant and latest to join) (in these images im imagining it would be a circle not unlike that 70s show just with the quads). girl i feel like he deals at school im ngl LMAO. likely high like, a LOT of the time. probably has a bong collection
Dawn
ok i feel like Dawn also probably would’ve been a little hesitant at first. she wants to, but she’s also this overachiever perfectionist (not unlike to Ricky, just in different arenas). once she does agree to try it tho, she LOVES it. she just doesn’t have much time for it. participates in the occasional sesh with her friends and/or siblings or the occasional solo sesh. definitely more into it than Ricky who very rarely joins, still a stoner but just not as much of a stoner as two of her three brothers
so, in conclusion, in order of biggest stoner to least
1. Dicky
2. Nicky
3. Dawn
4. Ricky
honestly the Harper quads aged up to the age they would canonically be (19/20) would be a god tier blunt rotation

BnHA Chapter 109: Rescue Exercise
Previously on BnHA: Bakugou and Deku’s groups met up after passing phase one of the exam. Bakugou eyed Deku and was all, “I see you made that *~*~*BORROWED POWER*~*~* your own,” which caused me to lose my shit, but then he walked off without saying anything further. Aoyama and Iida were big damn heroes, but Aoyama really took the cake, firing up his laser and using it as a beacon to draw in the remaining class 1-A strays so that they could all regroup and pass. Which they did, with not a second to spare. Back in the anteroom, the 100 remaining examinees were directed to watch as the examiners demolished the testing field with a series of explosions, and then announced that phase two of the exam would be a rescue operation.
Today on BnHA: The exam guys explain that the second part of the test will involve rescuing old folks and little kids from a mock disaster site. The “victims” are professional actors who basically do this for a living. While the group waits for phase two to begin, Sero gossips to the others about Deku and the Weird Naked Girl from Shiketsu Academy. Meanwhile a polite Yeti from Shiketsu comes to apologize to Bakugou on behalf of his dick classmate (the meat lump guy from a couple chapters ago). Shouto goes up to Yoarashi and is all “is it just me or do you hate my guts” and Yoarashi is all “yeah I do, cuz your eyes remind me of Endeavor’s.” Phase two begins and the kids set off a-rescuin’. Deku gets chewed out for not being smiley enough, but recovers. Ochako decides she’s going to stop acting like she’s in a shoujo manga for the time being, which, finally!! The exam continues, with a plot twist or two very clearly on the horizon.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 148 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
~new volume time~!
oh. yeahhh
now that’s the shit I do like. my boys being two sides of the same coin
and in the background it looks like Yoarashi and Todoroki are indeed being rivals, and Todo looks to be embracing his fire side at long last!
and is that Gang Orca just randomly there in the background also or what
anyway
“IT’S ABOUT YOUR QUIRK FUCKWIPE”
(ETA: after this volume, FA got a new translator, and I feel like this was the original translator’s last hurrah lol. to be fair, the guy apparently had a ton of impact on early BnHA fandom. he was even the one who came up with “quirk” as a translation for kosei which obviously stuck. but all the same, I’ve definitely noticed a steep drop in the number of profanities uttered in FA’s translations since he left.)
oh my god shit’s gonna hit the fan. fucking finally. they wouldn’t have brought it up out of the blue in the previous chapter unless things were about to come to a head! I smell another Kacchan essay coming on before these next nine chapters are done
wow look at this title page though
Todoroki looks very ~moody~ here and I can’t help but feel more daddy angst is on the horizon. there’s got to be some reason why the otherwise stand-up guy Yoarashi keeps looking at him like he smells something bad
yay the character page has the characters in action again instead of just profile pictures of them! for a little while I was afraid Horikoshi was running out of steam to keep doing these. I really like them every time he does one and this is no exception
Bakugou looks like he’s gotten more jacked. been hittin the gym
is Tokoyami using Dark Shadow to fly...? can he do that?
Rat Principal’s just sitting there in All Might’s lap. interesting to see him here; I assume this means more plot stuff is on the horizon. WHO IS THE TRAITOR
poor Kirishima, shown here a split second away from falling flat on his face
Jirou is perfect as always, I wonder if she’s ever not been perfect
go away Mineta
anyways. on to the chapter
so the first thing I wondered upon reading this opening panel (“we’ll be having you conduct rescues as ‘bystanders’ at this disaster site”) is, what the fuck do they mean by “bystanders.” but thankfully the kids are asking the exact same thing
oh, you did it as a lesson once. REMEMBER? no I don’t fucking remember because I wasn’t there. I can’t believe you did a bystander rescue lesson without me. fuck you guys!
they’re saying that they won’t be acting as ordinary citizens, but as people who’ve already secured a provisional license. so basically, heroes who happened to be onsite during the disaster
and there are the old men and kids we saw earlier
I wonder if they’re going to purposely make things as difficult for the rescuers as possible
wow, apparently they all do this professionally. they’ve got fake blood and everything
the exam guy is saying they work for the “Help Us Company” or HUC for short. haha I love this
so okay, the examinees have to rescue them and do it as professionally as possible. but are there any other crazy requirements for this exam like there have been with all of the other ones
wow, apparently not. “this time you and your rescue efforts will be graded via points.” how curiously normal. almost suspiciously so
Iida and Deku are staring at the field
if that’s the case, I wonder is it just a rescue operation then, or did they hire any actors to possibly play villains as well...? like, exactly how realistic are they going for here
anyway, the resemblance seems to make this more personal for them. Deku’s looking serious and determined. “let’s give it our best shot”
hoh boy Sero is coming over to Kami and Mineta and says he has something to tell them, and immediately you know it’s gonna be about that naked chick from Shiketsu
I’m so torn on this because. basically they think Deku was fooling around with her and they’re like “WHAT, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EXAM??” and caught somewhere in between outraged and impressed. but like, they’re horny teenage boys and of course they’re gonna be interested
really, if it was just Sero and Kaminari (a.k.a. the two that actually respect their fellow students and haven’t groped and/or attempted to peep on and/or raid their underwear and/or all of the other disgusting things Mineta has done or tried to do), I wouldn’t mind it, because really they’re just gossiping and fantasizing. but as usual Mineta ruins everything
ffff okay screw it, this is pretty funny. I mostly just like that they all think Deku’s got game now. and this girl is not helping at all
now they’re all disappearing in a cloud of angry fight smoke (as one does), and Ochako is staring
c’mon Ochako you know he wouldn’t do you like that. you know him better than that
over by the refreshments table, some guys from Shiketsu are coming over to say hi to Bakugou
they’re asking did Seiji go after him and he’s like “yeah and I knocked his punk ass out”
this sasquatch-looking guy is apologizing for Seiji’s behavior. hmmm
hmmmmm. is this sincere? I don’t fucking trust anyone from any of these other schools until the exam is finally over
everyone else is skeptical too lol
Todoroki is remembering Yoarashi’s >:( face from earlier and is like, then wtf was up with that
Shouto they all have hats. be fucking specific
obviously he’s talking to Yoarashi though
so he’s asking if he did something
Yoarashi’s turning to him like
“no. absolutely nothing at all”
haha. no, actually he’s addressing him as “son of Endeavor.” so yeah I’m starting to get an inkling here that he doesn’t like Todoroki’s dad
okay, whoa
okay, HOLD UP. you come into my house and you come up to my son who’s already been through enough dad-related trauma for a lifetime and who already has ten thousand hang-ups about being too similar to his dad, and who is actually THE SWEETEST BOY WHO EVER LIVED, TRUFAX, and you go up to him and you say you don’t like him because HIS EYES ARE THE SAME AS ENDEAVOR’S? Yoarashi, I’ll have you know that I liked you. but if it’s going to be like that, I WILL MAKE YOU MY ADVERSARY IN A HEARTBEAT and don’t think for a second that I won’t!!
AND HE’S REALLY GOING OFF NOW WITHOUT EVEN FUCKING EXPLAINING WHY HE DOESN’T LIKE ENDEAVOR AND WHY HE’S CONDEMNED SHOUTO TO NOT BEING LIKED JUST BECAUSE OF HIS JERK DAD
ARE YOU TRYING TO UNDO ALL THAT SHIT DEKU WORKED SO HARD FOR DURING THE SPORTS FESTIVAL ARC?? DEKU’S ARMS DIED FOR THIS
and I’m not sure if Deku actually saw all of this happening, but now he’s asking if Todoroki is okay
or at least he starts to, but then this girl whose name I unfortunately forgot (hold on I’ll look it up again... Camie) is bidding him farewell and he’s getting distracted by that. and then immediately Kami and Mineta are tearing into him again
meanwhile Ochako is staring at Camie with a weirdly contemplative look
jealousy!?!??! like, is it not obvious?? there’s a whole shipping thing that Horikoshi is trying to do with you and Deku here, but I’m really skeptical of his ability to pull it off even remotely gracefully. but it sure doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere so I guess WE SHALL SEE
whoa now all of a sudden a voice is blaring over the speakers and interrupting all of their teenage shenanigans
finally. Todoroki angst aside, that was beginning to get tiresome
and here they go!
I wonder if they’re also going to be tested on their ability to work with the kids from the other schools here. because in a real life rescue effort, they’d have to put aside their differences. and that scene just before this sure did a good fucking job of establishing that various people here all have various beefs. I hope they don’t get sidetracked by that
so they’re all setting off, and they’re wondering how they’re going to be graded. well, my speculation is that the ones who bring the others together and work cooperatively will get the highest score. in other words, I think this test is going to weed out the ones with too much ego, among other things
so, Bakugou... lol. good luck kiddo
(ETA: sob)
like two seconds in and they already stumbled upon a crying little kid
oh shit these instructors are not fucking around
DEKU YOU FUCKED UP SOMEHOW
he’s screaming at him why didn’t he check if he was okay first, look at all the blood on him, etc.
he says heroes with provisional licenses need to be able to judge the victims’ situations at a glance. well thank you for the helpful hint dude
someone from another school is saying that they’re going to mark the area as dangerous, and someone else is saying no, make it a wider area because we don’t know if the damage might spread
someone else is making roads and helipads
and some of Ms. Joke’s kids are setting up a temporary refuge and triage station
Aizawa’s rubbing his head and says he knew his kids would fall behind when it came to this sort of thing. well how much training have they had for this?
okay this is actually really interesting. this is something we haven’t gotten into at all yet
and that kid that was yelling at Deku says that most of all, a hero’s first words upon arriving at the scene shouldn’t be, “OH NO THAT’S TERRIBLE,” but rather...
wow Deku you really did fuck up, huh. wasn’t this the entire reason you wanted to be a hero in the first place?
but thanks again HUC kid for your free advice
so now Deku is snapping himself out of it and getting his game face on
I kinda wish his game face wasn’t so cuddly, but I’ll take it
now the HUC kid is immediately getting back in character and telling Deku to go save his grandpa
so Deku’s directing the others to go help gramps while he takes the kid to the first aid station
Ochako is just STANDING THERE WATCHING HIM
I don’t know but get a move on, girl, I need you to get your license too so you can become even more of a badass
she’s thinking that she needs to push aside all of her DO YOU LOVE HIM??? feelings
and that whenever she sees Deku acting like that and never giving up, she thinks it’s just so cool
well, good, because this is the provisional license exam arc, not the Can These Two Crazy Kids Really Make It After All arc. we’re barely a hundred chapters in; there’s still plenty of time for that shit later down the line
and thankfully the last page seems to be introducing some sort of twist, because things were getting a little too straightforward for a finale lol
is that Todoroki? I can’t tell what’s going on. I GUESS I’ll just have to keep reading, oh well
BONUS:
Chewbacca here is first mate on a ship that might suit us
whaaaaaaaat he’s the class rep?? okay then, I guess that was a sincere offer of friendship. this guy seems like a solid bro
apparently he can freely manipulate his hair and make it longer and such. “though it’s tough how often it tangles up on him.” that sounds troublesome
I like him. Nagamasa... I’ll try to remember that
#bnha#boku no hero academia#midoriya izuku#yoarashi inasa#todoroki shouto#uraraka ochako#moura nagamasa#makeste reads bnha#todoroki shouto: [walks up to a group of students who all have absolutely nothing in common]#[other than the fact that they all have the same hat]#todoroki shouto: 'hey you with the hat'#in the anime he's more specific#but oddly enough I think I prefer this version lmao

Hello!! Can we have an couple of HCs of the safehouse bois (COD: Cold War) loving their curvy fem s/o? (and maybe trying to make her feel happy in her body if she's insecure of feels weird?)
Thankie and sorry for the oddly specific request 😅
Djsjsjsj ok ik you have like two other requests, and they'll be coming!!! But this struck such a mood I had to skip the line lol.
Honestly, like the way I tried to treat myself to some ✨ s p i c e y ✨ lingerie that just arrived and it fits literally everywhere else except that, ofc the cup size is an absolute JOKE, i-
Anyway, I digress lmao. Thank you for the request(s) btw, and enjoy!!!
---
Adler
Personally, he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to have a particularly strong preference for any one "type"
But in the era where the super tall, super slim, super models reign supreme, he understands that sometimes it's hard to feel pretty if you're built like anything else
After all, I don't think any of the guys know how it feels to see yourself as "unattractive" more then he does
I mean, if he'd been cut a little deeper or on a different angle, he could've needed whole skin grafts, or even physical therapy for his jaw
And who wants a guy as messed up and broken down as that, right?
But you... Oh, you're gorgeous
Adler is very soft and gentle when it comes to his appreciation for you and your body
While he does know how to express himself, he's not really the grand gesture type, like some of the others are
He is the biggest self love hypocrite, always quick to get down on himself and his facial scars, but absolutely cannot STAND to see you upset over you body
You chide him for this now and then, but he usually jokes it away
I know I said Adler doesn't really have a type, but don't think for a second that he'd pass up on a great thing when he gets it
I don't want to say "handsy" but he definitely likes to just... Touch you, when you're alone together
Not even necissarily in a sexual way, he just likes to appreciate the shape of you, you know?
Very into hugs from behind, or really at any angle, as long as he gets to feel his arms around your waist
Also, you can catch him absent mindedly caressing your hips with his knuckles or a lone finger whenever he's standing around with you
Hudson
Oh y'all ain't ready for this one lmao
I am 99% certain that behind that steely facade, is a man who loves nothing more then a THICC juicy Queen™
I'm so serious, like the curvier the better for this dirty dog lmao
The best part is, that the fun isn't in that he just goes feral when you two are alone (although he certainly could, in a rare mood)
He's actually really shy about it, and he doesn't want you to feel like that's the only reason he loves you
And while you do appreciate the respect he has for you, you'd be lying if you said you didn't like to tease him
A favorite of yours is to walk into his home office half or fully naked and watch him, very obviously, struggle to stay focused on his paper work
He knows he's weak, but damn it he can never last long before giving in and handing over whatever kind of attention you're seeking
You know, whatever that may be 😏
When you're feeling insecure however, he can sense it immediately and always seeks to get to the bottom of whatever is causing you to feel that way
Although he's rather direct, he's tactful and tries his best to know the right thing to say
He's a great listener, and will never hesitate to tell you how beautiful and special you are to him
Lazar
Lmao, I don't think there is any universe in which Lazar would not be in full support of being with a curvy woman
Especially as a big guy himself, you two are an absolute power couple
He is both literally and metaphorically your biggest hype man when it comes to your appearance
Also, 10/10 likes to give you gifts of clothes and the like that he thinks you might appreciate/look pretty darn good in
Honestly, it is rare to feel down about your body when in a relationship with him, but everyone gets insecure sometimes, and he gets that
Thankfully, he's a master comforter, and is always at the ready to give you the treatment you need to feel better
Typically you can expect snacks and cuddles if you're just feeling sad, and stuff like a massage or body kisses and so forth if you need a reminder that you're literally the most gorgeous woman on earth
Oh, and he's very protective of you and defensive of your looks
I kind of hate to use this terminology lmao, but Lazar is the Alpha™ everywhere he goes, and he has no problem reminding other guys of it
So if he sees someome else checking you out, he'll be sure to block their view and do something like make direct eye contact until they leave you be
Have you ever had a 6'4, powerlifter looking, tank of a man sneer directly at you before?
Not a good feeling, I assure you
Needless to say, you don't have to put up with much, if any harassment or other stupidity on Lazar's watch
Mason
Alex strikes me as the type who doesn't buy into the paper thin beauty standard that society like to push
Obviously that's great if you're just naturally thin and all! But mostly he's totally down for the curvy, "built like a brick house" type of woman
He appreciates the way that you can keep up with him when he has to do physical things around or outside the house
Alaska is a rather unforgiving place after all, so he finds great comfort in the support and companionship you have to offer him
You're like his little amazonian goddess, and he's always in awe of not only how unbelievably beautiful you are, but also how hardy and tough you can be
In fact, you and your body are so normalized and loved by him in his mind that it genuinely catches him off guard when you say you're feeling insecure about it
But in times like that, he loves to tell you how beautiful your body is, not just for the way it looks but for the things it can do
You're built so strong and tough, but also soft and feminine... he can't even think about being with anyone else
He's very into body worship, like Lazar is, but Alex is a lot more gentle and is extremely conscious of making sure you're alright as he goes along kissing and caressing
If he could only show you how beautiful you are to him, he would in a heartbeat, but for now he just hopes his words and actions are enough
Sims
Oh, you already know Sims loves a thicc, curvy snack of a woman lmao
Skinny guys always love the curvy ladies
He doesn't really go feral when you two are alone, but he's not exactly shy about having this hands all over you either
For sure he always greets you with a compliment, whether it be a look, a whistle, or words... he's prepared
Also, he's very vocal in having you understand that there is not a single outfit you look "bad" or "unflattering" in, even if it's just sweats and a t-shirt
In fact, he is so confident in you, that he loves to show you off when he can and if you're comfortable
Always introduces you as "his girl" and is never afraid to point out your new outfit, hair-do, nails, ect
I feel that Lawrence would be another case where it's quite rare indeed to feel insecure about your body, and so when such times do arise he takes it seriously
He's basically a gentler, more emotional version of Hudson
By that I mean, he's the type to want to talk it out (if you're up to it) and ask what's wrong or if someone said something to you
You'll always have a reliable listener and food advice giver in him, and somehow that seems to always do the trick
Woods
Honestly, Woods is Hudson part 2, except that he has all the vocalized pride of loving curvy women as Sims and Lazar
He's still careful to make sure he doesn't come off as a creep or something, mind you, but complimenting and loving on your body just comes naturally to him
Extremely handsy in private, and you've definitely swatted his hands away from your hips, waist, back, ect more then once
In public, I wouldn't exactly say "handsy" but he's determined to make sure everyone knows you're with him
He usually escorts you places with a hand gently placed either just above your tailbone or protectively wrapped around your waist
As independent as you may be, you must admit, it's nice to feel like a princess everywhere you go, escorted around by your knight in shining flannel
He'll even offer you his arm if he's feeling particularly gentlemanly, because yes, miracles can happen
Unfortunately, Frank is probably the worst wordsmith of all the gang, and is next to clueless on what to say if you're feeling down and insecure
At least to his credit he'll usually start off by admitting to that fact before giving it a try
"Well, you know I'm shit with words, but... I hope you also know that I love you the way you are"
Thankfully what he lacks in words, he makes up for in physical affection
Even if you're really only comfortable with some cuddling, he's gonna cuddle you so good!!! He's determined and will stop at nothing
After all, whatever it takes to make you feel every bit as amazing as he knows you are

future lifestyle headcanon dump.
eventually shadow will make space colony ark a base of operations for himself. he really has almost everything he needs up there (besides a social life) i think for a time he wouldnt go up there unless it was for specific reasons (because trauma and bittersweet associations) but i like the idea of him eventually getting to a point where he’s okay with being up there and it becoming like his version of a batcave kgjsd.
he goes there to maintain his equipment (such as his hover skates & inhibitor rings) as well as keep an eye on his chaos energy levels. i just like the idea of him like... resuming Gerald’s studies. because he wants to better understand himself and what his capabilities & limitations are. he’s a little obsessed with making sure he’s always in pitch perfect condition so. self maintenance on the ultimate lifeform + may or may not of repurposed old tech GUN had originally confiscated from the professor. hell maybe even SHADOW teaches himself to understand this tech so he can have his own gadgets.
he is always trying to expand on his chaos powers and see what all he can do with them. he prefers to have range, to be flexible with these things. (at some point i need to make a headcanon dump of all the abilities he has because this hedgehog is op as shit LMAO)
the simulations i mentioned in this older headcanon post that the scientists would put him through --- he still puts himself through them to keep his skills sharp. oddly enough he finds doing them a little cathartic, comforting even. i kinda like the idea of him having a shard of the phantom ruby used to power the simulations and make them more complicated & unpredictable. keeps him on his toes.
he turned the control room into a bit of an office of sorts. its usually where he works on paperwork that has to do with his rehabilitation foundation he’s working towards establishing. the nice thing about chaos control is he can just blip from the control room back down to earth wherever he’s needed or being called upon for something.
speaking of, he keeps a communicator on him that keeps him in contact with those affiliated with his work, as well as government officials.
in said control room office, he has framed pictures of past loved ones in there. pictures of maria, gerald, rouge, sonic & co. y’know, people who had an impact on his life when they were still alive. he keeps them in his memory. he also has like... documented files on each of them that he made. mainly because he has the paranoia in the back of his head that one day he may lose his memories again, or loses sight of himself again... and he doesn’t want to lose those people entirely. so he has a backup plan prepared in case something like that ever happens. he’s also very protective of this information and doesn’t allow just anyone to have access to it.
shadow only really rolls up to the fight to deal with the big threats. to deal with the things that he feels other heroes can’t. otherwise, he’s more-so interested in his own goals to make the world a better place. kinda like in idw, he has a habit of popping in and out of the situation once it’s resolved. he doesn’t really stick around for chit-chat. cut the head off the snake. dive head first into the lions den. he can do it because he’s the ultimate lifeform and he was designed for this.
in his free time, he tries to challenge himself to continue learning about things. he tries to stay up to date on his education and whats going on in the world, but he’s still pretty old-school in terms of interests. the Sinatra is never gonna leave this hedgehog.
socializing... how do you do that. shadow is and has never been great at connecting with others, it’s difficult for him because he’s one of a kind. that said, he realizes he kind of... NEEDS that connection. to stay grounded. it’s not an easy realization for him, because he’s always going to be SHADOW and he’s always going to carry the title of ultimate lifeform, the idea that he is the perfect creation who needs no one or nothing. but maybe, a couple hundred years later when all his loved ones are gone (again) and he’s distanced himself from people in order to protect his broken heart... he may find himself drifting from the path he’d started to pave for himself. it occurs to him, in his darkest hour, that he simply can’t afford to do it completely alone, even though ultimately he is. he needs that presence in his life to remind him what he’s fighting for. what he’s trying to achieve. and he finds it in new people who come into his life.
his chao reincarnates over and over. he’s lucky enough to of fostered another immortal creature that he’s forged a tight bond with. and it becomes a real crutch for his emotional state. the longer time goes on, the more important that chao becomes to him, and by god does he become even more fiercely protective of it as does it become of him.
#⭐ — you can dig so deep for scars. ❪ headcanons. ❫#tempted to make a tag for future stuff... because thats something id be interested in exploring at some point#also need to do an updated reference for what he looks like in the future

A rather long explanation of why I don't like the Bee. Aka why I think making clones would be a better power.
Aaaah. The Bee. That nice yellow comb. Such a nice design I have to say. I remember that time, years ago, when I was still a newbie, when we didn't even know the Fox was a necklace... what a time.
When there were only seven Miraculouses, theories were vastly common. People looked up symbolism and made theories or just decided cool abilities to write with. Then Sapotis, in Season 2, changed the picture. The Zodiacs were revealed and people lost interest because instead of (then) four unknown Miraculous, there were like fifteen to do research for. I understand why some people use common abilities for Miraculouses tho, it's perfectly fine! It's just, I prefer more complex abilities.
I'm a writer, I've been writing Miraculous things for four years. And you all realise how much I like writing about the Miraculouses.
Yeah, so the Bee, there were many theories. I did have a theory that it would be paralysation, but not in a venom sense. It would've been crystalised honey and it could only paralyse an arm or a leg or something. I didn't like it that much so I started searching. Some people gave her flying, building things or even mind-controlling; but what I liked was this one: cloning.
Why?
It makes sense. Bees, along with ants and wasps, are known for their social structure. Bees in particular have some "roles", and they're known for that. What comes to mind is the concept of coordination, at least for me. Worker bees, abundance, collaboration, all that. A cloning power would require someone to have lots of spatial vision, body control and coordination, especially considering my headcanon where the Bee's clones replicate the main Bee's moves.
It made sense. Back when Sapotis was released, many of us noticed something: Marinette's first idea wasn't using the Fox. It was using the Bee. I admit it was such a vague thought, tho. "If the Sapotis clone themselves, maybe Marinette thought about a cloning Miraculous right before realising it would take too much time?".
It is versatile enough for me to write. My criteria for Miracupowers is that they can't make fights too easy. Cloning can facilitate many things, but it can be useless, misused, not needed, and very hard to control. And, most importantly, you can do many things with it. Distract someone? Yeah. Block a street? Probably. Fight support? Totally. Someone has to do a thing in two different places? Oddly specific, but it totally can happen.
So yeah, my version of the Bee functions like the Double Cherry from Mario 3D World. I admit I took ideas from that concept. I find it nice to write and versatile enough to make fights interesting.
But then, the actual Bee appeared. And I hate it. So much.
For me, it doesn't make sense. Since when are bees associated with subjection? However, if we look at the French concept, this makes more sense... kinda. In French, it is the Miraculous of Domination. Queen bees are associated with domination. But I don't really think domination and paralyzing go in hand. It's just... I don't like paralyzation for the Bee, especially since I'd prefer worker bees instead. And, as many have noted, domination works better with wasps! And the new Bee holder is wasp-coded. Canon Bee should be the Wasp Miraculous.
Why tf did Marinette think of one (1) paralyzing opportunity to fight an entire army of Sapotis? If someone has an idea then please tell me because I literally do not understand why they made Marinette doubt there.
It makes fights too easy. Bee totally paralyzes someone for five minutes... and, I guess, and adult user can paralyze eternally? This is totally OP and, unlike the Cat, it doesn't have any consequence. Cat is totally OP, but at least it cannot be abused like that because... people die. But the Bee totally can. Just bring the Bee. Paralyze the Akuma. Boom. No conflict. Unless very specific situations like Kagami's last Akuma which used a tweak of the same power. What do you do with paralysation? You paralyse things... and that's all? Is there any fight application aside from paralysing the villain?
I will never never never work with the canon Bee lmao. I find it so unoriginal and unfitting.
So my Bee represents Cooperation and for someone to be a good holder, they have to have a very developed spatial vision and body coordination to operate properly with their clones, as they imitate anything they do. So they should be a fast thinker and have strong visualization abilities in order to move the clones properly and learn how to fight with them. I think someone like Max would be a good Bee, because he has an amazing maths capability and probably, or at least I headcanon, lots of physics knowledge. So he could plan fastly how to move in order to execute his plan (overall Max is a very nice holder, I think). Or maybe someone like Nath, who is used to drawing movement so he probably has a developed spatial intelligence. And probably sporty people are good, but they'd have to have a strong concentration so maybe Kim and Alix are rather funny. So yeah, Bee!Max and Bee!Nath can work, at least with how I headcanon them both.
Alt!Bee is probably my most solid Miraculous and I feel like I will never change the cloning idea lmao. So yeah miss me with the Rat having it :)
By the way, I hate the Rat too! Why does it have two abilities? Multiplication, which is its concept, AND shrinking. I understand why, don't get me wrong, it's just that Multiplication and reduction could perfectly be different things. And I hate how clones do whatever they want. Does the holder control them? If so, how? Is there a limited number of clones? I headcanon four clones (because Miraculouses are 5-themed, which all the five minutes shit, so 4 clones + holder makes a team of 5) that imitate the holder's movements. I really would like some clarification, especially on the controlling part lmao.
So yeah, I think my rant ends here?
If you've read all of this, I love you. Please comment something. I'm begging you.

...who do you think has more chemistry in romantic sense with Bakugo? Midoriya or Kirishima?
Ooooo dangerous territory, anon. I say this because you're referencing, at least to my current knowledge, the two most popular Bakugou ships, and afaik, the communities are not on good terms lmao. I don't think anyone on this blog is that intense or even really cares, but in case someone does, I want to say that I come in peace. I just like talking about the potential dynamics between characters I like while I wait intently for chapter spoilers. These impressions are also subject to change because I'm still learning.
Okay, so the tl;dr is: It's a tie. The reader's preference is the tiebreaker.
Kirishima and Bakugou: Their dynamic, to me, is almost the perfect recreation of "the main character and their best friend who was there all along" that you see in a lot of early 2000s teen comedy movies. Idk if this is a hot take, but Kiri was Bakugou's first real friend. Like, I'm open to debate, but I feel like that's an objective fact. He's similar to Midoriya in that he holds a lot of admiration for Bakugou, but unlike Midoriya, he doesn't idolize him to the point of putting him up on a pedestal. He actually, iirc, doesn't like Bakugou very much at first, but we see him get to know and care about Bakugou as a person - not as a rival or a personal symbol of victory or subject to analyze/copy - over the course of the series.
And in response, Bakugou embraces him as a friend (wow, imagine that, you take the time to get to know someone, and not their reputation or your imagined version of them, and they like you!). Kiri's the only person he trusts enough to accept help from and spend time with outside of class (hiking, studying etc). And, ik I've said this before, but that's pretty significant for a character like Bakugou. My impression of Kiri is that he's honest, fearless and has a sensitive soul. And I think Bakugou respects that. This leans a little fanon, but I imagine he's had a lot of experience with people who give him disingenuous compliments with ulterior motives over the course of his life, so meeting Kiri, someone who's so open and patient with him, must have been a breath of fresh air. They are good for each other!
Unfortunately, from the Hori interviews I've read and seen referenced, their friendship was meant to be a stepping stone to get Bakugou closer to the class, specifically Midoriya. That bums me out a little because I think their dynamic comes so naturally, and it's so wholesome. Bakugou is a lot less stressed with Kiri, though their relationship isn't perfect, but it's mostly typical relationship troubles (communication, insecurity on Kiri's end, insensitivity on Bakugou's end). I have my fingers crossed that they'll interact more in upcoming chapter since they're at Kamino currently, but I'm not getting my hopes up since well...see the first sentence of this paragraph.
Midoriya and Bakugou: Ahh yes. The turbulent one...which is weird to say considering how wholesome Midoriya seems to be on his own lol. But that's what's so compelling about their dynamic - you start reading and get a superficial impression of what they are, but the further into the series you get and the more you think about it, the more you realize how complicate it really is. And actually, Midoriya isn't much of a cinnamon roll at all.
Like 2Doc, there are varying levels obsession and codependency here. Midoriya's low self-esteem compounded with his idolization of heroes and hero society contributes significantly to how he views and interacts with Bakugou. I feel like he's already thinking of Bakugou as a pro-hero as far back as in middle school, and treats him as such - someone he wishes he could be like but also wants to beat, but also someone he wants respect and friendship from. In turn, Bakugou responds harshly, not only because he can't quite figure out what the hell Midoriya truly wants, but also because he recognizes his selflessness and determination to save others very early on in their lives. He recognizes that Midoriya has qualities that make a good hero, qualities that he also lacks (initially). Midoriya's selflessness scares him, and I think he admits that out loud somewhere before the war arc (and oddly enough, we're seeing that perhaps he had a good reason to be scared in the current chapters...but that's a different discussion). As as result they start off in this volatile relationship where they don't understand each other, but can't get away from one another.
That being said, this story is about them and they are both very important to one another. That's indisputable, imo. You'll see different takes as to whether or not the build up to their impending reconciliation was well-executed. I'm of the opinion that overall, it was. Despite the odd ways he's expressed it, it's clear Midoriya has always cared about Bakugou and that he would do pretty much anything for him, and Bakugou over time, has realized how he misinterpreted Midoriya's attempts at friendship when they were younger and is trying to give him a chance to be a friend. There's no room to go over it all here, but they've been learning from each other over the entirety of the story, and will continue to learn from one another until the bitter end lol. Currently, their roles are essentially reversed, and we see Bakugou repeating lessons Midoriya used to try to teach him, back at him. That's some nice character development an angst right there. Bakugou is exponentially more stressed with Midoriya, but the feelings are also more intense, there's more drama...I'm still low-key hoping they fight again. Heh.

uh, liz is cool but really u can call me anything, like i’ll respond to bastard if u yell it loud enough
2. when is your birthday?
february 29th & yes i am not joking i was born on leap year and my day of birth only exists once every 4 years
3. where do you live?
in super mega ultra hell. is that meme already dead bc idk i like the verbiage of it lmao- no but for real i live in missouri, and there isn’t much to do other than stare at a giant hunk of curved metal and eat barbecue that the locals tell u is the best thing since sliced bread & maybe it is i just don’t like it myself ahaha

aside from answering this? well listening to 9 to 5 by dolly parton bc yeehaw, petting my cat who’s curled up on my foot, and slowly waiting for the day to end
5. four (4) fandoms that have peaked your interest?
oh god there r too many to count but as of rn? probs wrestling, buzzfeed unsolved, rupaul’s drag race & just drag in general, and achievement hunter
6. how has the pandemic been treating you?
um... if you would like the honest answer, not great... i lost my job in august so i haven’t been employed for a few months now. my dad hasn’t been making the money he used to so i’ve started helping paying the bills w/ the funds i had saved for going back to college from when i did have that job. sort of become a recluse again, where i almost never leave the house outside of small trips to the store or the literal once in a blue moon going and social distantly see a friend. it’s basically the life i lived in early 2019 while i’m very lonely all the time while trying to solve the problems of my family as the same time? whatever who cares i’m moving on
7. a song you can’t stop listening to right now?
oddly enough, ‘positions’ by ariana grande! i don’t listen to her all that often but for some reason this song really stuck to me! i especially like the versions of it where it’s slowed down and had reverb!
8. recommend a movie?
this might be out of left field, but ‘motocrossed’! it’s one of those disney channel original movies that i grew up with and it’s still pretty good to this day! the movie’s about (and this is in the words of the legendary nakeyjakey) girls pretending to be boys so they can ride dirt bikes
9. how old are you?
20!
10. school, university, occupation, other?
as i said before i am now unemployed. and before that i did try to go to university once but failed out of all my classes due to never going to them because i couldn’t force myself to get out of bed. i want to go back to school so fucking bad for secondary education physics as a practical career. but recently i’ve been teasing the idea of becoming a ring announcer because my voice was build to shout really loud, but who knows, u know?
11. do you prefer heat or cold?
cold 100% bc i cannot function in environments above 75° (fahrenheit). like it can be -7° outside and i’ll be pleased as punch but as soon as it gets up there in temp? i melt like a popsicle
12. name one fact others may not know about you.
i used to be a gymnast! did all the flipping and the balance beam stuff & maybe thinking abt doing it again. idk i just want to do a backflip and have cool muscles
13. are you shy?
it kinda depends? i can be the most loud and unabashed son of a bitch if i want to, but sometimes i do get into my own head and go silent and nervous.
14. preferred pronouns
she/her and they/them! and they r not “preferred”, they r my pronouns! :D
15. biggest pet peeve?
okay this isn’t as profound or interesting as summer’s was, but people who scrape their forks against their teeth! it is one the worst sounds known to man and it hurts my already messed up ears
16. what is your favorite “dere” type?
tsundere? i think? sure, i’ll go with that
17. rate your life from 1-10, 1 being crappy, 10 being the best it could be.
5, and this calvin and hobbes comic explains why
18. what is your main blog?

19. list your side blogs and what they’re used for.
i used to have separate blogs a LONG time ago for art and writing, but as it turns out i’m shit at both so they got deleted and this is all i have now
20. is there something people need to know about you before becoming friends?
if we aren’t counting the fact that i’m an asshole, i would say that i have the worst tendency to delete messages i send after a while. basically my brain goes into panic mode if someone isn’t responding back thinking “ur annoying them, they don’t want to talk to u. u should delete what u sent because u should have never of said anything in the first place! only speak when spoken to!” u know, the usual.

Yes I'd love to know your take on all the characters too!
Haha sure thing! Forgive me if this is a bit long, I just wrote whatever first came to mind about each of them! Feel free to let me know what you guys think too, I’m certainly not the end-all-be-all!
Under the cut for length, a continuation of this post:
Number four is our illustrious cad, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I must admit I haven’t read all that much of his content personally, since I have trouble on a personal level. But given the tangential things I’ve seen and his appearances in other routes, I like the complexity of his character composition. He’s incredibly hedonistic and lives in the moment; he doesn’t seem to care one bit in regards to the potential consequences of his actions, and every second is something to think about as a writer—if he’s not teasing Isaac within a hairsbreadth of a stroke.
In truth, I don’t think that surface level interpretation actually encompasses every facet of who he is. Because he also has remarkable moments of insight and deduction (though wrongly attributed to him because of the Sherlock books), and he does have odd moments of compassion for people/the MC. They ring a little hollow for me, but I can appreciate that he cares in a way that makes sense to him. I think a lot of his behavior speaks to his negligence of self; I have to wonder if his devil-may-care attitude is a means to communicate to others that he doesn’t deserve to be cared for (if he won’t ‘take them seriously’, then neither will they in regards to him, no?).
Granted, I’m sure his route will prove to have equal depth to the ones we’ve seen before, but my own preferences preclude a pretty resolute lack of interest.
Tl;dr: Probably has some level of narrative depth, but given the content I’ve seen he’s a little too aggressive and selfish for me to appreciate or enjoy it. Rated T for possible big trauma/turning point buried underneath all that, as well as big feels when he chooses you by the end.
Also if it’s no trouble, I would like to offer a trigger warning to any who wish to do his route when it does come out. I don’t know if his MS has any traces of assault/molestation, but I have read a few ES’s in which he does things to the MC that she does not seem to want/does not consent to. It was a very unpleasant surprise for me, so I understand if anyone would rather avoid it.
Number five is our sunshine painter, Vincent van Gogh. Needless to say, given that he appears to be a fan favorite, he’s another suitor that’s just so easy to love. He’s sweet and gentle no matter the situation, and has a remarkable ability to lighten a room simply by being there. But don’t let that quiet and shy disposition fool you; he’s actually a lot sharper than he looks.
He’s among my bias favorites, and the reason why is more simple than you’d think. I’m sure I don’t need to explain that he’s incredibly compassionate. He’s always thinking about what he can do to ease people’s hearts, always meets others with warmth and a beaming smile. But he’s not an airhead. He’s not kind because he doesn’t know any other way to be; near every second of it is a choice that he voluntarily makes. There are moments where this strength shines all too true, and he proves he’s much more than a pretty, sweet face. When the stakes rise, he rises with them.
Though—and do forgive me, Vincent—I’m inclined to agree a bit with his brother, Theodorus. He can be a little too yielding to the more negative forces in his life, a little too compassionate towards people that are frankly threatening. But he insists that he’s willing to work hard for his happiness, that he has no intention of waiting for someone to hand it to him—he’s ready to make sacrifices and work. And I think that sentiment, that fortitude after such a difficult life, is what makes him so admirable. He’s not just generous, he’s strong enough to give all that he can and thrive at the same time. He has such a remarkable capacity for hope given everything he’s been through, and it’s something that I love about him—I can’t help but respect it, even if I’m a bit more cynical lmao
Tl;dr: Absolutely the softest and goodest boy I have ever seen in my life, 11/10 would marry and cherish forever—die mad about it Theo. Much more intriguing than what a first glance offers, I invite you to do his route even if you have doubts; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I live for his surprising moments of sass and seriousness, and if I’m honest he and his MC seem to have some of the best chemistry in the game because of how directly he addresses any miscommunication/confusion between them. (He also loves hanky panky, as our esteemed Sebastian puts it, so jot that down).
Speaking of, “if anyone so much as looks at Vincent the wrong way I’m killing everyone in this room, including myself”, number seven is Theodorus van Gogh (number six is Isaac in the game’s main story order, but transitioning—you know how it is). I…truly don’t know how to encompass him in a few words, but I’ll do my best!
Everyone’s probably more than aware at this point, but he lives with the single-minded goal of protecting his brother and promoting new talent. A workaholic and fiercely protective of the only family he has left, he tends to be pretty terse and harsh with other people—abrasive. But he has such distinct moments of warmth (even if they’re still coarse as hell), and he gets down to the truth of a situation in milliseconds; wit as sharp as any knife. Unlike his brother, he is totally fine with violence if he deems it warranted, and he has a much harder time granting forgiveness. It goes without saying that he has a much, much harder time sharing what’s in his heart and healing as compared to Vincent.
I think my favorite thing about Theodorus is just how multi-faceted he is. At any given moment his range of emotion or reactivity varies, and I actually think it’s very natural? I think he’s just someone that responds to a situation after carefully measuring just how comfortable he is showing his own cards—and sometimes he reacts without thinking at all because he’s too overwhelmed with emotion to care (unsurprisingly, the opposite of his brother, who’s generally more placid/visibly unresponsive). One wonders—though I think it’s likely the case—whether or not he’s much more expressive by comparison precisely because Vincent was unable to express himself with such unfettered honesty.
Overall, he tends to keep his distance from people. And yet, even if his admiration for someone is a rare thing, when he does admire them he well and truly means it to the core. Equally put, if he loves somebody he loves them with every fiber of his being—to the point where he will give up near everything important to him to preserve their happiness. If I were to describe it in a word, I suppose I would say that he’s incredibly volatile. He lives, to an extent, in extremes; even if he’s still able to see traces of the gray in-betweens. I fully expected to find him and his route forgettable/unpleasant, but he grew on me before I even realized it!
Also just gonna put it out there, his interactions with Vincent are friggen ADORABLE. This big, looming, scowling swagger on legs seconds from tears whenever Vincent looks after him. Or how he hesitates and droops when Vincent scolds him. I just can’t they’re too much! For a guy that calls us dog in the Japanese version of the game he sure follows Vincent like an adorable puppy 😂
Tl;dr: Despite his frigid countenance, he’s a lot more bark than he is bite (yes I did that on purpose, do your worst fangface). Once you dig deeeeep deep under all that acerbic tongue-lashing (not the fun sort, unfortunately) you will find somebody that’s surprisingly soulful, and much kinder than he’ll ever let on. I very rarely know just what to expect from him, and while he can be a bit domineering, his heart is almost always in the right place.
Boomeranging back to number six is our adorable apple and baby of the house, Sir Isaac Newton. I’ve honestly been really happy to see how much love he’s been getting in this first route release for the big three, given that he’s such a sweetheart. Consumed with anxiety and very, very socially awkward; our boy is doing his best despite being big confused a lot. He likes to stick to math and physics where things make sense, and I can’t really blame him. He presumably asked to be given new life to do more studying—and if that doesn’t say anything about how isolated and lonely this man has been, I’m not really sure what does.
He’s also a bit of a mixed bag, like Theo. He seems to have a self-esteem located at the bottom of the Marianna’s Trench; and yet, has oddly courageous moments when he’s trying to help others (most especially Jeanne). While he can appear to be contrarian and bitterly defensive, he’s more brittle and nervous than anything else upon closer inspection. He’s too quiet and painfully shy to involve himself in conversation, to the point where he literally enjoys being teased about apples in the house—because at least he feels like he’s involved/belongs, that way. He’s distant and reserved, but isn’t lacking in warmth or compassion—he just expresses it in roundabout ways (I mean good lord, the boy felt bad waking up his own coachman). It can be hard to describe, but it seems like he’s always battling against his social anxiety—and sometimes it wins, sometimes he does.
I think what I love best about Isaac is how hard he tries, despite it all. Despite everything he’s lost, despite the droves of people that assumed the worst of him in life—he keeps trying, against all hope, to understand and be understood. Even when he’s afraid of being hated, even when he fully expects to fail, he picks himself back up and reaches out—no matter how difficult it is for him. All he ever asks of the MC is to bear with him while he tries to find those answers and meet her halfway, and honestly I think that’s the sweetest thing ever.
Tl;dr: Lost on the path of life but doing his best, all he’s ever really wanted is someone to call friend (girlfriend, if you’re so inclined). A little fragile and a little timid, all he needs is a gentle nudge in the right direction.
Next up, number eight, is the renowned veteran Jeanne D’Arc. Another bias boy (my list is endless for this game, lord) his route is my second favorite right behind Leonardo’s. Superbly written and paced, every moment of romancing him was raw and heartfelt.
Without giving too much away, he is taciturn and reclusive to the extreme—I’m talking hermit levels. But I loved that personally; it makes total sense that a man born literally four hundred years ago is going to be confused and overwhelmed by the level of stimuli present in the turn of the 20th century. And given how, much like Isaac, he has enormous levels of social anxiety—it makes for a very difficult way of life. The other men do their best to accommodate him, but there are other reasons why he avoids getting too close to people, no matter their good intentions (that part is a route spoiler so I’ll leave it to your imagination c:).
I think what I loved best about his route was how much it was about helping each other heal. And while some otomes can fall into trap of MC becoming his therapist (I’m not naming names—Mysme) it doesn’t feel that way at all, at least not to me. Granted, she does a lot to get him out of his shell, but it’s more because she wants to get along with him than some odd belief that he needs her help (also bc of wingmen Mozart and Sebastian—yes it was as amazing as it sounds). Not unlike Leonardo’s route, they both recognize the beauty that dwells deep within each other, and they fall in love without even having to think about it. They become just what the other wants and needs, without even trying—truly as natural as falling.
Which brings me to the other thing I love so, so much about Jeanne: his kindness. Despite everything he’s been through, despite decades filled with loneliness and pain and trauma—he’s no less gentle for it. He’s always putting MC before himself, always telling her to look after herself first and insisting he’s nothing but a nuisance. He treats her with all the tenderness in the world, and even jokes around with her in his moe, silly way. He’s charming and delightful and sweet, even if he can’t see it.
Tl;dr: One of my favorite otome routes to date. Falling in love with him felt as natural and as easy as breathing, and every single time I see him those feelings come rushing back. What he lacks in worldliness, he makes up for in pure passion and fierce consideration for the people he holds close to his heart.
At number nine lies our Monsieur Guillaume, better known as William Shakespeare. Where on earth do I begin with this one, I have no idea. He’s…a wild card to say the least, though a strangely methodical one? Jeanne’s Japanese route only served to confuse me all the more, to say nothing of Vincent’s route. Part of me wonders if he suffers from the narrative confusion that often results from making a suitor a primary antagonist at the same time. (Though I will admit, the fact that he barely even tries in Leonardo’s route bc: 1. Everyone’s terrified of Le Comte’s/Leonardo’s legitimate wrath 2. He deadass says LEONARDO CLOWNS HIMSELF HARD ENOUGH AND MAKES HIMSELF SO MISERABLE HE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE TO TRY. WHAT KIND OF GOD TIER, ACCURATE ROAST. I’m sorry I just needed to come clean about that one, I’ve been laughing about it for years).
From what I understand he only really operates in two modes: extremely obsessive (and violent) or a complete lack of interest. Le Comte explains it much better than I do, but Shakespeare is a bit of a perfectionist; he wants an impeccable performance from a perfect, naturally acting cast. But MC tempers this with the correct analysis that he also has a very, very dark lack of compassion for other people. He truly does seem to have fae blood in that way; created for the sole purpose of dangerous mischief and dissembling. His poetic speech feels a little over the top, but it makes sense that he would speak in a flowery, distracting, and elaborate way if his goal is to keep his distance.
I find it…borderline terrifying that he gets along with Vincent because of the aftermath of Vincent’s trauma. As a result of the eldest van Gogh’s backstory, he tends to be “doll-like.” That is to say, as I mentioned, he very rarely expresses any depth of emotion. Shakespeare states that it lessens his temptation to want to make his life a tragedy like everyone else’s, and I suspect there is a level of envy hidden there. Shakespeare hates seeing other people express themselves openly; especially in terms of hope or love, because it is something he doesn’t feel he can have or because he believes it is fated to end in tragedy (or both?). His reasons seem to get pretty convoluted and can vary given the narrative goal, so I may only be partially correct here.
Tl;dr: If I’m honest, I don’t really feel anything for Shakespeare that’s positive—though I admit I do wonder about his intentions and what his route will amount to (sheer, morbid curiosity lol). I think he may have the potential to be redeemed—given that there are clear mentions of people going wrong from the turning process. But in general I find much of his behavior to be kind of appalling. At least it’s fun to watch le Comte punt kick him around when he’s done horrible things, lol (forgive me Shakespeare-lovers, it’s a bit cathartic for me)
Diez for our favorite (H)osamu Dazai, accomplice and enabler of Arthur’s thottery. He’s much simpler and somehow just as confusing as Shakespeare to get a handle on, and his content is pretty limited, but I’ll do my best to encompass what I understand!
Honestly, I find him a little fascinating in that he truly seems to believe that he’s good at keeping his distance; evading contact with MC, constantly calling her by the wrong name, and teasing her with his dramatic digressions—on the surface level, the implication is there. The game is very subtle about his moments of genuine unrequited feeling and adoration; if you blink it’s easy to miss. When a crisis hits, he uses her given name. When he’s frustrated that she’s not being treated as she deserves, he speaks out. He even tries the whole big brother schtick, though she brushes it aside (he was shooketh). Perhaps the abundance of third person narration makes it easier to tell (than it might be for MC) but I find he’s less convincing than he is stalling/avoiding the truth. Which begs the question. Why is he trying so hard if it seems half-hearted/forced?
The possibilities are, admittedly, myriad. My best guess is that he yearns for company even if he avoids/fears the commitment. I imagine a big part of his route will be getting him to accept the concept of companionship—no matter how much the idea scares him. I find it a little ironic, though, that for a man so desperate to die he says it wasn’t as fun as he thought it might be. Are the limitations his mental illness placed on him among his considerable regrets, enough that he felt compelled to try again in a new life? Only time will tell, I suppose.
Tl;dr: A little scatter-brained and a lot flighty, he’s lacking in conviction but not in compassion—and he may be a lot sharper than he first lets on. Rife with some sort of emotional/mental hardships, be prepared for a long, difficult ride if he’s among your favorites! It makes me wonder if MC will be reason enough for him to find meaning and peace in life for once, not unlike Jeanne’s rt. A girl can hope~
Ah yes, we arrive at another deeply beloved bias, Le Comte de Saint-Germain. I very much doubt there are words to encompass how much I love this man, but I will do my very best for your sake—and for his (it’s what he deserves).
Le Comte is a mystery to all but Leonardo, it would appear; right down to his alias. And in intriguing accordance with that fact, he is at times the epitome of a genteel nobleman—until he’s ready to unleash a flagrant can of whoopass to protect people. I think what I love best about him is that he’s quite literally a walking contradiction, in many senses of the word. He’s a gentleman with the heart of a punk/delinquent, only civil until a dispute carries too far. Saint Germain is the definition of a brittle character (something I have always been incredibly fond of in stories); I can never quite get a read on him. My best guess would be to say that while he’s patient, he’s also unpredictable. It’s not always clear how affected he’ll be by something or what he’s feeling. But when it becomes too much for him to bury within, you better believe everyone in a five mile radius can feel the aftermath. You’ll all come to understand what I mean, hopefully, but it’s the precise reason Leonardo becomes friends with le Comte—and why he continues to fascinate me.
And as odd as it sounds, I love how simple he is too, to some extent? No matter how convoluted the specifics of a situation get or blame is thrown around, he always cuts to the core of the issue—and doesn’t let anyone sidetrack that. He’s cautious, but not entirely incapable of being forthright; just choosy about when, where, and how. Which begs the question. Why does he always hold back so distinctly with MC? Side stories in the Japanese version suggest some very deeply rooted, agonizing fear that makes him avoid getting close to her no matter how much he likes her. I have theories, but nothing solid quite yet. All I know for now is that he is slightly shady, very benevolent, and a whole lot lonely.
Tl;dr: He’s literally the definition of the meme “aren’t you tired of being nice? don’t you just wanna go apeshit.“ Works to be gentle and understanding, but the second he deems somebody has gone too far he will act with surprising, swift, and deadly vehemence. He’s very sweet and surprisingly possessive/direct about his affections—though he often plays it off like a joke. I always find it funny though, when some of the residents—especially Arthur/Shakespeare—know they’ve gone too far and they just look up to his dark, saccharine smile like FUCK. 11/10 I’ve been waiting centuries for this man Cybird, pls set me free And last, but certainly not least, we have our distinguished butler, Sebastian. I love this big ol' nerd but can't deny that he does me a bit of a frighten. He can do...literally anything on the domestic front, and frankly its a bit alarming 😂😂
Just as the little question mark next to his description as stoic indicates, he goes for the whole unruffled English butler vibe and nails it for the most part. He's even got the witty banter down! But he's also pretty direct and unapologetic about his love for historical figures--and the stalkerish lengths he'll go to to observe them all. (I mean come on, this fool literally overshares about himself in milliseconds if you let him). Granted I can't fault the man for doing what makes him happy. Like Isaac, I just have to resist the urge to gently shove him into a locker sometimes lmaoAs for his romantic potential, I think the possibilities really range. From what little I've seen, I think he might be a bit like Mozart? He seems very unaccustomed to social interaction--and given his backstory he was more interested in books and people long dead than the ones beside him. He also has a bit of that fastidiousness to him, a bit stern and awkward despite moments of warmth. I think he can be more preoccupied with cutting straight to the truth sometimes than he is about figuring out how a person needs to be spoken to (re: what is tact?). And that's charming in it's own way, though the result can be hilarious inadvertent moments of callousness--quite literally photo taken seconds before disaster lmfao. (I think my favorite instance of this was when he was trying to reassure MC once and totally fucks it up, only to see her start panicking and go "Oh shit, I stepped on a verbal landmine, didn't I" and then Comte comes to the rescue) Tl;dr: Honestly, I think he'll be a really cute love interest even if I am all about the vampires in the game. He's his own kind of genius, even if he doesn't see it, and deserves just as many hugs! And I think he severely underestimates how sexy it is for a man to willingly share in the responsibilities required of a household. Get you a man as capable and sharp as Sebas LOL
#asks#as you can see i need sleep and a life#but i hope you enjoyed my rambles all the same!!#i love this game and i love how much the characters surprise/delight me!#so many good babies (both trash and pure alike I'm not picky LOL)#lord i cant wait for jeanne to come out in english yall my heart was shattered in the most beautiful way#to say nothing of the cute little gothic motif thrown in#and ik comte's route will be the end of life as i know it#im on bought time#crybird will not have mercy im sure#pray for me lovelies

What is Illusion and What is Reality?
Mangagamer Link: https://www.mangagamer.com/r18/detail.php?goods_type=1&product_code=1137 Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1039940/Hashihime_of_the_Old_Book_Town/
When I had first played Hashihime, I had done so with an untranslated version, using VNR and text hookers to make sense of the story. And you can make sense of a game that way, but nothing beats a good translation from an actual team of translators!
I have fond memories of Hashihime, I loved it when I played it before (so much I bought a hardcopy from stellaworth!) and I love it still.
This isn’t so much of a review as it is me just typing out things I love about this kinetic novel. And that’s truly what it is.
For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a type of visual novel where the whole story is linear aside from a few choices. No bad ends, only endings to certain branches off of the true story.
As for Hashihime itself, it’s a bizarre little story, one that will have you questioning truly what is real and what isn’t within the narrative.
I personally feel the strongest story is the first one you must complete. After that, while they are all enjoyable in their own respects, the rest don’t really hold a candle to the impact the first branch has (my opinion of course) and that even includes the “true story”, which I typically feel that way about most vns so I wasn’t surprised with my self haha (or should I use nyahaha?)
Before I dive into the chapters and my thoughts on them-
First, there may be spoilers here! I will keep them to a minimum as I feel hashihime is best experienced with fresh eyes, but I won’t be able to keep myself from spoiling some aspects.
Second - this story is about Tamamori repeating the same three rainy days after one of his friends dies - he tries to save him each time. And depending on your branch, things change as well as targets sometimes.
First Chapter - Minakami
Minakami is Tamamori’s best friend, he happens to be the biggest bookworm Tamamori knows and is the main person you must save. I loved Minakami’s chapter the most, mostly because of the formatting, it was the one that felt most natural to the story (imo). Yes, it’s not the true story but I felt it had the most impact and was very moving. Minakami himself I like too, but overall he isn’t my favorite character and the relationship between Tamamori and Minakami is at best vague until the very end, imo... but that may be part of its charm and the reason so much of the stuff within happens.
Second Chapter - Kawase
Don’t let the image I used for Kawase fool you, this guy has barbed-wire for a tongue and coal for a heart. Kawase’s chapter is an... interesting one. It gets really crazy as things seem to spiral out of control - especially since this is the first time things get twisted around and instead of Minakami, it’s Kawase you try to save. Kawase is actually my favorite character and his relationship with Tamamori is my favorite in the whole game. There is something about the way Tamamori would always turn toward Kawase for advice and despite Kawase’s hatred of touching, he allows Tamamori to be close to him. I just really love Kawase and his relationship with Tamamori.
Third Chapter - Hanazawa
Ahh, Hanazawa. He is a character many will either love or hate, I can feel it. First and foremost, I do not hate Hanazawa. I do actually like the idea of his relationship with Tamamori and it seemed like he truly held something towards him but his goals blindsided him. But I do have to admit that his story was my least favorite and his relationship with Tamamori is my least favorite as well. However, this chapter is truly the one that kind of alludes to the true story. I won’t say how but after completing the story in itself, Hanazawa’s makes more sense (oddly enough)
Fourth Chapter - Hikawa
Hikawa is the only character of the four chapters who is not a friend of Tamamori’s, in fact, he is just a customer at the used bookshop Tamamori lives/works in (Umebachidou). Hikawa is a very strange and timid man and honestly? He is not only my second favorite character but his route is my second favorite. There is something fun and enjoyable about this character and the voice actor definitely brings that out of him, so kudos to them! I absolutely love Tamamori’s relationship with Hikawa too - it gets sweet (even if a little eccentric, but that’s part of Hikawa’s charm) I won’t say much else because I don’t want to spoil his chapter.
Fifth Chapter - Final Chapter, the true story
I’m not using any cg for this as it would be a spoiler, but I do want to talk about it a bit.
The final chapter made the whole story not only make sense but completely throw the rest of it down the drain.
Which I think was its purpose. But regardless of that, it made me feel sad and frustrated because of the fact it made me question the reality of the story. It made me frustrated because... well, spoilers!
I personally didn’t completely like the true story. That isn’t to say it’s bad because it isn’t. It’s actually really good and I loved learning the truth of the situation. The love interest of the true story (this is a bl story, after all!) may surprise you and I know it will throw some people off in many ways (antis need not apply to this game - problematique lmao)
But either way, the ending to this story was fitting.
And honestly? My biggest complaint about Hashihime was NO CONGRATULATIONS CG ;A;
So...
Within Hashhime, what was reality? And what was an illusion? Do you prefer to live within your fantasies or do you prefer to face the harshness of reality? And more importantly - can you face yourself in all of your shortcomings and accept yourself for who you are?
I feel those are some of the questions Hashihime poses to the viewer.
Please give this kinetic novel a chance. The characters are charming, the story is interesting, and there is no pressure to race to a good or bad ending - just endings to chapters, like any other good book.
I’m closing this book, happy to know that it finally was given the chance for an international audience to experience it in english.

Gundam NT - Experience and Initial Thoughts
Hello tumblr...it’s only been 94857589746575 years, eh?
Well. So it finally happened. Gundam NT finally got an official run in America, and I finally got to see it. I’ve finally seen the dang mecha movie that I’ve been dying to see since last November.
Finally!!!
But, not without some dramatic mishaps at first (lol).
I was lucky enough to have my local theater showing the movie, but it took them 20 minutes to get the movie running (it was just a dead screen up until then)...only for us to realize it was for Bohemian Rhapsody, and not, in fact, for Gundam NT. Some jokes were made from the other movie-goers (”Gee, Macross sure looks funny!” “Hey Hawthorn you okay there?”) but soon the chatter turned into serious consternation and concern. Eventually, theater staff told us the movie couldn’t be shown because the projector didn’t have it, so we all filed out of the theater to head to Guest Services. While we waited in line to get vouchers (in lieu of a refund), we were also told that staff was working to fix the issue, so we were welcome to go back to the theater to wait it out.
And boy am I glad I decided to go back up, because soon enough, they had it up and running. THANK GOD.
Unfortunately, they skipped over most of the bonus footage featuring the interview and introduction from the producer and director in the interest of time... I’m actually really sad and salty about that, but it’s better than not seeing the movie at all, at least.
And so, after like 30-40 (or maybe more?!) minutes delay...we finally began the movie proper. LMAO.
Before diving into things, a bit of a head’s up:
Frankly, I’m new to Gundam, and I’m by no means well-versed in Gundam lore. Additionally, I’m also not someone who is usually nitpicky about details in animation or story-telling. So, my POV is basically of a casual bystander who happened to check out the franchise, and decided to stick around because it seems fun and interesting. If you’re someone who is more or less opposite to me...then this “review” of sorts is definitely not for you.
Actual movie thoughts under the cut! Not spoiler free!!!
I’m not gonna lie...honestly my memory of the movie is really cluttered and foggy. However, despite this, I still very much enjoyed watching the movie!
So...pacing. I’m no expert, but I seriously feel like this movie could have benefited from getting like maybe 2 hours of screen time rather than an hour and thirty minutes. It felt like the production team was trying to cram SO MUCH into TOO LITTLE time that the whole movie felt really fast. Despite this, the tension build-up was definitely there, especially as we got closer and closer to the end. About halfway into the movie I began to clutch my coat and scarf (it was quite chilly out today) really tightly just out of the continued anticipation of what will happen next...needless to say, my hands are now very sore, lol.
I do wish the plot wasn’t revealed in such a non-linear way. Of course, flashbacks and the like are sure to be used in storytelling, but much of NT’s story-telling felt more like oddly-placed snippets that went back in time, rather than a series of flashbacks. For the most part, I’d say each of the trips back into the past were important and revealed important information...but it made the movie feel cluttered and kind of all over the place. And honestly, the non-linear way NT’s narrative was told made it difficult to keep up with what was going on and how everything tied into it all until the very, very end. That’s probably my one gripe about this movie, I think.
Now, despite the pacing and the scrambled nature of the plotline, NT was still a lot of fun for me to watch, and I think I can credit the fight scenes, the characters, and the acting for that. The fight scenes were thrilling to see on a BIG ASS SCREEN, for one. And then just generally anxiously waiting at the edge of my seat to see how the battle would pan out is of course always a thrilling part of (my so far very short) Gundam experience. Animation-wise I really don’t know if I can say anything, since I didn’t notice anything especially jarring or bad. But, I’m also terrible at noticing small details when it comes to animation, so it could have also missed it.
The characters were a pleasure to watch, in my opinion. Rita honestly seemed like a cooky mystic Newytpe for most of the movie, and it really grated on my nerves. I kept thinking, “Surely there’s more to her than wondering about heaven and wanting to be reincarnated as a bird.” But the very end of the movie finally revealed the more human side of her, and that definitely made me feel better about her as a character. I do wish they could have shown more of Rita’s human-ness, but I suppose in the interest of time, they couldn’t.
Michelle seemed really cool, up until she started to look like a nasty manipulative player with huge stakes on the line. But as more and more of her story unfolded, I began to see the layers of the onion, so to speak. I was glad that she wasn’t just a vengeful person greedy for power, and at the same time I was also glad she wasn’t just another corner in a love triangle. Her humanity was evident, but I wished that we could have seen more of it through showing rather than telling. Ultimately, it was Brick who made the final reveal on Michelle’s true character in his last message to Jona, and I just wish that we could’ve seen more of it through Michelle’s own actions instead. We did get glimpses of it, of course, and I suppose maybe choosing to not show it much was to reflect that side of Michelle’s character--someone who guards her personal emotions closely and puts on a show, a facade for the public to see. But even then, I still wish we could’ve had more glimpses into Michelle’s humanity through her own actions.
Jona, Jona, Jona... Where do I even begin. Ultimately, I resonated with his humanity the most, I think. Seeing how much he still thought about those years with the lab even after all this time, how angry he was with Michelle, how distraught he was over Rita being taken away...it all felt very raw and very human. I guess it was just all very relatable, seeing how emotional Jona could be. I’m a pretty emotional person myself in the sense that I feel emotions very intensely, and it seemed like Jona’s personality was like that, too.
He says a line towards the end of the movie where he’s wondering out loud what is the point of continuing to live. He pretty much wonders, after the only people you cared about have left, after you’ve witnessed such horrendous things, after you’ve had to LIVE through such awful events...what even is the point anymore? I really felt for him in that moment. It made me remember how much I’ve wanted to give up before when everything seemed to be terrible and miserable in life. When nothing seems to go well, what point is there to continue going on, right?
Then there’s the returning characters from Unicorn. I was happy to see all the characters who returned, of course, but MAN...I was SO happy to see Banagher finally, at the very end of the movie. And the words of encouragement he says to Jona...the classic “Even so...” MAN. MAN OH MAN did I cry...! Like I mentioned before, I was already really resonating with Jona in like the prior scene, so the emotion from seeing Banagher again combined with the emotions from HEARING those words of hope...that really did a number on my heart, and in a good way.
The dub cast did a fantastic job, I thought. Normally, I feel like I’m suffering every time I have to watch a dub, but the cast made it work for this movie. I think the only bone I have to pick would be Rita’s dub actress, and that may just be personal preference. I figure the actress was told to sound kind of mystic and airy (since that’s basically Rita’s personality for about 99% of the movie, so that’s a fair direction to take with the acting), but it sounded a smidge too...fake? plastic? for me to really buy into. But again, this is probably just me being picky, lol. I LOVED the acting for the other 3 main characters though (Jona, Michelle, and Zoltan). I have to commend Jona’s dub actor (Griffin Puatu) because he really pulled off a similar tone and feel to Enoki Junya’s acting, I thought. (At least, based on the long preview; I’ve yet to watch the first 23 minutes of the JP version of the movie.) I have other thoughts for the other actors but I think I’ll leave them for another day... Also, I’m merely a fan when it comes to voice acting, so these are purely just the feelings and thoughts the performances gave me as a viewer, and nothing more.
So, after having seen Unicorn AND Narrative, I really get the sense that the story of Newtypes, and I guess Gundam on the whole, is about humanity. At its very core, Gundam is seeking to tell a story about the differences that could tear us apart, but also the humanity that holds us together. It feels like watching a story that tries to remind us that at the end of the day, no matter our differences, we’re all human, and we ought to remember that if we ever hope to survive as a species.
Furthermore, I really feel like Gundam is trying to show the importance of both communication and emotion. Both UC and NT showed how Newtypes can communicate on a higher level, but that communication typically ultimately conveyed the person’s feelings and will. Sure, we got thoughts and important backstory too, but I think the main thing we tend to get from their communications is emotion--what is that person feeling, and how is that emotion then translating into the actions they’re taking. Not only that, but we also then see the subsequent actions taken in response to being revealed someone’s deepest, innermost feelings. Of course, there were times when the person was mercilessly murdered, be it by accident/misunderstanding or out of “necessity,” but there were also moments where the action taken ended up being to withdraw an attack, or to let go of the captured person.
Maybe this is just me going off on a limb, but I think that’s a really important message to take in. Communication is important, but what’s even more important is communicating our emotions to others, and respecting others’ emotions in turn. That’s probably the big message I take away from seeing the Newtypes’ stories in Unicorn and Narrative.
Well, needless to say, I’m now very curious to see how the UC plotline continues on. We’re already slated for another movie this upcoming winter, so I guess I’ll have to wait until then. In the meantime...I suppose I’ll finally get around to finishing Origin (lol). Even if the next movie doesn’t show much of the previous characters, or even if the JP voice cast doesn’t feature anyone I know, I think I know too much of the plot now to be able to abandon the series.
All in all, NT was a fun movie to watch. I definitely don’t recommend watching it if you haven’t watched Unicorn yet, but once you get through Unicorn, NT is a nice way to wrap up the story from that point of the UC timeline.
Now to eagerly await the BD release for those sweet, sweet bonus materials! :3c

also sorry for asking about something right after the devilman crybaby ask but pls talk about koichi pls talk abt koichi, you don't have to make a full blown meta... unless you want to? OH and do you prefer the MS translation of what some of the citizens think is name is(hauler) or the VIZ one- i forgot what it was lmao
No problem anon, I’m glad you’re enthusiastic.
Vigilantes is actually my favorite part of the MHA universe. Part of the reason I like it is because it follows closer to Deku’s original concept where he was still quirkless and decided to become a hero outside of the system. Vigilantes is about a character who basically fell through the cracks who is doing everything to help in his own way.
What’s interesting to me most right now about Koichi’s character is the way he hasn’t grown quite yet. Especially since the manga is continuing now with his mentor having left him behind and Koichi moreso now on his own.
Remember, Koichi starts out the manga basically being a vigilante the most mundane sense of the word. Technically he’s breaking the law because he’s using his quirk without permission but he only ever uses it to do quick favors for each other.
This is just a quick mention but I love how both Koichi and Gentle share the title Gentle-man for a little while. They even have similiar backstories, they were people with ambitions who fell through the cracks of the hero system and were mostly forgotten despite their earnest efforts to do better.
However, Koichi is primarily motivated by being helpful to others while Gentle wanted the easiest road to be remembered by others, so Koichi becomes a vigilante and Gentle a pretty harmless anti-villain. Harmless is also a good word to describe both of them because Koichi’s main strength as a hero isn’t his ability to punch bad guys.
So Koichi’s goal is to make himself useful in whatever way possible, but his mentor is somebody who is pretty much the opposite of that. He’s somebody who outwardly projects an image of the more traditional vigilante somebody who just wants to beat up bad guys (though this is eventually subverted).
This panel most of all really summarizes what Koichi’s character arc is about. He’s somebody who wants to break out of the boundaries of where he currently is. Hence, why the manga itself is called vigilantes. Koichi has a desire to be useful in whatever way possible, but that desire often means he’ll settle as well. His version of a vigilante was just somebody doing really menial labor and nice favors for other people. Koichi tends to always put others first, to a point of true selflessness and always taking a secondary role. A helpful role.
If Deku’s greatest flaw is his self destruction in a physical sense, his willingness to destroy his own body in order to save others than Koichi’s is in a personal sense. He’s always willing to throw away his opportunities and ambitions in order to help someone else. For example when Deku is told by Nighteye that Mirio would be a better candidate for One for All he holds onto his own ambitions even though it’s not the most selfless thing to do. Koichi however, knowing everything about his character would have thrown it away because objectively that’s the most helpful thing he could do at the moment.
That’s why the backstory for Koichi missing an exam literally has him acting like a hero to be towards his detriment. When Deku saves Urakaka in the entry exams it’s something he was rewarded for, but Koichi was punished for doing the right thing in this situation. It’s far more of a fault in Koichi’s case because he’s often casting aside his personal wants and ambitions to be a hero. For a vigilante he’s oddly complacent.
So Koichi’s improvements of his quirk as well come with breaking through the limits he’s set on his own self. He has to learn to fly. Gravity is a boundary just like the law. Koichi is a vigilante, but he’s also one working in a really limited capacity to fill a specific niche. As opposed to his mentor who basically was only acting as a vigilante to save the one person he wanted to save. Knuckleduster achieved what he wanted though because of his selfishness and his sharp sight, whereas Koichi’s selflessness and his want to be helpful is causing him to become complacent.
I mean the series is called Vigilante, thematically it makes sense it would be about somebody learning to be a proper vigilante.
The latest chapter points this out. If Koichi is just acting like a glorified messenger man for bigger heroes then how exactly is he a vigilante. Koichi excuses himself with saying his quirk isn’t very combat oriented, but we already know that Koichi’s quirk an be strengthened and there are also several quirks that can be used creatively for combat as well.
So the next arc seems to be about what Koichi is going to learn in his master’s absence to carve out his niche, before he grows too comfortable letting other heroes do the fighting for him.
Pop seems okay with their current gig but Koichi definitely looks unsatisfied still at the end of the chapter, even if on the surface he agrees with pop. My question is how is what Koichi is doing now in the latest chapter that different for when he just ran errands for people for free as Gentle-man?
Here’s a hint, Koichi in general is a giant spiderman reference so being a hometown hero is probably always going to be a part of his character but this is something both characters struggle with. How exactly do they use their powers to the best of their ability to help others? Great power and great responsibility and what not.
I bet the next big question of Koichi’s next arc is now that his master is gone, “Am I doing enough on my own?” Which is important for Koichi to ask because he spends 110% of his existence supporting others.

BnHA Chapter 186: Lunch and Then Some Light Noumu Battling
Previously on BnHA: The New JP Hero Billboard Chart Top 10 rankings were announced and the heroes each gave a short little speech. My new adult bird son Can You Smell What The Hawk Is Cooking stole the spotlight by basically saying, “y’all need to stop being such bummers, we’re the best that the world’s got now so let’s fucking act like it.” We learned that Hawks is basically a hero prodigy, having started his own hero agency at the tender young age of 18, and now having risen all the way to #2 at age 22. Anyway, he then handed the mic over to Endeavor who went with the short and sweet “just watch me” route, for better or worse. Afterwards Endeav throttled Hawks a little bit in the privacy of his dressing room, and Hawks apologized and then said he actually needed Endeavor’s help for something. “Do you remember the Noumus?” I then proceeded to lose my shit, as we transitioned to some unknown location where an unknown figure was talking to an unknown Noumu with a Kurogiri face (!) who could TALK BACK (!!!!). Then I really lost my shit omg.
Today on BnHA: Endeavor and Hawks go for a stroll on their lunch break. Hawks casually saves like 15 random people and attracts a crowd of fans seeking autographs and selfies. Meanwhile Endeavor attracts one (1) fan, and tries to offer an autograph of his own only to send the kid running off in tears because Endeavor’s aloof attitude is apparently what makes him cool lol. So as Endeav tries to sort all of that out, he sits down with Hawks in some fancy high-rise restaurant. Hawks tells him about some rumored Noumu sightings that he’s been investigating all across the country. He says he flew out to the locations, but couldn’t find any evidence. He theorizes that someone might be purposely spreading rumors in order to sow fear among the general populace. And he says he wants Endeavor, the newly crowned number one here, to be the one to put the people at ease. Meanwhile he himself just wants to chill out, and he would like nothing better than an ideal world so peaceful that heroes can just relax. Anyway, so then that Talking Noumu from the last chapter comes flying at them from out of nowhere and smashes through the glass and is all “WHICH ONE OF YOU IS STRONGEST.” So Endeavor goes to fight him.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 208 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
omg
I think this might be my favorite SJ cover like, ever?? is that a huge overreaction? but like, Deku looks so cool. and I fucking love the colors so much. and don’t think I didn’t notice the distinct BakuDeku theme of this green and orange aesthetic, Horikoshi. because I did! notice! gosh these colors look so good together don’t y’all agree. okay fine I’ll shut the fuck up
lmao
this was such a badass cover and then it’s just. completely ruined by the text in the background being all “TOAST ‘EM”
(ETA: that text was so distracting that I honestly didn’t even notice the Noumu in the background. completely missed that. so observant lol. I probably would have noticed in Mangastream’s version, which says “seething!” but that’s pretty funny too tbh)
jesus Endeavor calm the fuck down and put yourself out already. why are you always so fucking angry
holy shit
well now, that’s one hell of an opening hook
the text is all “ever since I could remember, I’ve lived at the whim of others.” and apparently this dude found it suffocating
so here we have a disgruntled office worker about to shoot the place up, presumably? or like, the quirk equivalent of that. how fucking creepy
oh my GOD
IS HE STRIPPING NAKED TO GAIN MORE EMBARRASSMENT POWER
what the fucking fuck oh my lord. every so often Horikoshi is just like “lol I thought of a really weird thing. let’s just roll with it and see where it takes us”
so this man with his weird humiliation kink thinks he’s all that, but!
did Hawks just shoot fucking feathers to cover this man’s R-rated parts
also if Endeavor is even 1% like his youngest son, his favorite food will be soba. moment of truth!
goddammit, Endeavor’s just completely ignoring the question, and he’s actually focusing on stopping the flasher guy while Hawks continues to talk about food
lmao now this stupid fucking dog is running out into traffic
don’t worry kids, Hawks fired off more wings to spirit sweet, stupid Schwartz away to safety
you had me until “chicken liver” Hawks but I guess I could keep an open mind
does Hawks ever actually make eye contact with anyone
I’m starting to feel like he’s the type who would deliberately turn around if he ever did happen to be facing the same direction as whoever he was rescuing. he only does casual rescues
oddly enough I’m liking him less than I did before. Too Cool For That Shit is just not my type. I prefer Too Grumpy For That Shit and/or Actually Fully Enthusiastic And Earnest And Will Do The Uncool Thing Without Hesitation
but I have a feeling that what we see might not be what we get here, so let’s just wait a bit. idk just a feeling about him. because he sure as heck didn’t have that meteoric rise by not giving a damn
(ETA: okay so! needless to say my fears were unfounded as it turns out Hawks’s thing is not Too Cool For That Shit, but actually Too Tired For That Shit, which is actually one of my favorite types. Too Cool is just the persona he puts on because it’s what’s expected of him. but in actuality the reason he seems so nonchalant is because his heart isn’t really in it. this was never something he wanted to do; it was something he was more or less forced into because he was so talented and With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, and so it didn’t really matter what he personally wanted or didn’t want. in other words, Hawks is the very first Reluctant Hero I think we’ve had in this series. he’s someone who is more or less trapped in his role, and by now he’s become very, very good at what he does, but more than anything he would like to one day not have to do it anymore.
but of course not only does he not have that option, he’s somehow managed to get himself in way deeper than most of his peers will ever have to worry about. not only does he have to contend with the everyday stresses of hero life, but he also has a fun undercover double agent mission to worry about! so add in the fear of being caught and the stress of having to play both sides, while all the while trying his best to make sure no innocents get hurt! and having to think about all of this constantly!
basically, up until now I wouldn’t have thought that anyone could come along and actually contend with Aizawa for the title of Most Exhausted Character in the series. but not only does Hawks contend, I think it’s actually no contest. and yet he does it anyway. without complaint. well with a little bit of complaining, but under the guise of being a lackadaisical young twenty-something who isn’t particularly concerned about anything.
he actually ends up confessing more to Endeavor than I would have expected, given all this. like he was straight up confiding in him. that all turned out to be completely true. but because he says it with that carefree smile, you don’t realize at first how much he’s just kind of quietly suffering underneath it all. like that dog in the house on fire saying this is fine. like, no it fucking isn’t, but he puts on such a good act of being completely unconcerned. it’s astounding in hindsight.
my god I have so many fucking feelings about Hawks apparently. I didn’t mean to essay this much and there are probably more essays on the way too lol. I love my tired bird son too damn much and I hope to god he doesn’t get himself killed fffff.)
anyways he’s signing autographs and giving interviews and shit, and meanwhile Endeavor is just completely being ignored
okay now they’re acknowledging him, but it’s the usual “man, he’s scary!”
(ETA: CAN’T YOU SEE-KUNNNNN)
this kid knows what’s what. Inasa was fucked up for years because of his I Asked Endeavor For An Autograph trauma
now Endeavor is silently and intimidatingly turning his head toward the kids and walking over
by the way these children are fucking adorable and I want take them all home and give them sandwiches and juice boxes
(ETA: I’m so glad Can’t You See-kun is even acknowledged in-universe as the most adorable child on the face of the earth. if anyone ever deserved to become a beloved meme it’s him)
oh shit Endeavor’s making an effort!!
he’s really trying to fix that image omg
but it’s not working!
oh snap. it’s just like All Might said, huh. remember he told you not to try to copy him and to do your own thing, Endeavor
the kid is having a meltdown now and saying that Endeavor doesn’t need fanservice and that the lone wolf attitude is what makes him cool
okay but you can be a lone wolf and still be Not A Dick, though
now the kid is running away crying. jesus christ. well so much for those juice boxes then. maybe I’ll just give them to your shark-looking friend
Endeav’s just staring in confusion and wondering where he went wrong
where you went wrong is being a dick for 40 years. change isn’t just going to come overnight. but you need to keep at it! if you want to be nicer just be nicer, and eventually either your fans will warm up to the change, or you’ll get new fans
(ETA: I stand by this, for the record. I know this arc is doing a whole thing of showing how Endeavor can be a different type of hero than All Might and still be someone that people rely on. but in addition to this I think that if he genuinely wants to be more approachable than he should just keep working at it even if people are naturally going to be really confused by it at first)
anyways so now we’re cutting to some fancy high-rise restaurant and Endeav and Hawks are eating in what seems to be a private room
or more accurately, Hawks is eating, and Endeavor is just sitting there with his arms crossed same as always
are you sure Shouto isn’t adopted? that kid loves stuffing his face during serious discussions
(ETA: lmao and he even does it yet again at the end of this arc. I don’t know why I’m always so tickled by this but I just love it)
anyway, so Hawks is replying that when he wants something he just goes for it. “it’s just my nature”
he apparently tried to draft Shouto after the sports festival! interesting
but he says he’s glad that he ended up with Tokoyami in the end
wow but kind of a dick reason -- “Shouto-kun’s brand took a hit after he failed his provisional license exam”
is he just trying to rile up Endeavor here? interesting
Endeavor says Hawks knows a lot for someone who never went to U.A.
which we kind of already knew (that he’s not a U.A. alum), because otherwise he would have been involved in the Kamino mission. but I wonder where he did graduate from. is he a Shiketsu alum?
how mysterious
(ETA: in the Mangastream version he says “I’ve always been a good observer, you see,” which is something that gets called back to later)
anyway, now Endeavor’s getting impatient and demanding to get to the point
ahasfhkhlkj
yesssss more info about them omgggg. how are there even Noumus anymore with AFO locked up??
okay so Hawks is reiterating the stuff we already know, that “scores” of Noumus were captured along with All for One at Kamino. and that since then, even though the League has been active, they haven’t been able to confirm any new appearances of Noumus
hmm, I see, so it’s going to turn out that it was B
(ETA: actually now I’m wondering if there might be a C and this is purposely trying to mislead us! because everyone always assumed that AFO was the only one capable of producing Noumus, but what if that isn’t the case though?)
Endeavor says that since Hawks wants to team up, that must mean he’s actually found proof of this so-called “rumor”
oh my god Endeavor. why couldn’t we have had you during the last arc. you would have had us out of that bullshit basement in no time flat
(ETA: for real, this arc is only what, nine chapters? the man knows how to move things along)
okay now Hawks is saying that this isn’t the only place where Noumus have been sighted, and that there are rumors all around the country -- though not in the news -- and people have been gossiping
oh for fuck’s sake could you get to the point already Hawks. stop dramatically building up to it
blah blah he heard it from locals when he went on a business trip, and he did a secret investigation at that time but wasn’t able to turn anything up
so he says he got interested after that, and flew around the country to investigate further
so apparently there were similar rumors cropping up in completely unrelated parts of the country, with slight variations
but in the end he wasn’t able to validate any of the rumors
so then if this is all true, how many of these Noumu 2.0s are there??
(ETA: and is any of it actually true? it’s hard to say at this point. I’m learning toward “yes”, or else why bring it up in the first place. there’s gonna be a Noumu arc coming up in the future at some point I think. Noumu Wars)
so Hawks is continuing to munch on his yakitori and he says that ever since the incidents at U.A., Hosu, and Kamino, everyone knows about the Noumus now, and he wonders if it’s just “some asshole with a motive to spread unease” who’s spreading rumors throughout the country
okay but we the readers know for a fact it’s not! and you wouldn’t have called Endeavor to team up if you really thought it was just rumors. so when are you going to get to your point
...no way he’s talking about All for One, is he? "a criminal from a long time ago.” someone who wanted ability users to be free. was AFO the Magneto of his day once upon a time?
(ETA: actually, thinking about this more I think maybe it was the mysterious Destro who was mentioned by Gentle not too long ago and who I’m still hoping to learn more about. he was the leader of the Quirk Liberation Army or something along those lines wasn’t he? definitely sounds like a Magneto type)
he says that the more fear a society has, the more these kind of delusions sell and spread
Endeavor is again telling him to stop being a dramatic fuck and to just get to the point
wha
seriously?? you invited him to lunch just to ask him that?
Endeavor’s asking him what his angle is
did fucking Hawks just admit he wants to 420 blaze it. in my good Christian manga. which takes place and is published in Japan where weed will get you thrown in fucking prison for the better part of a decade. something tells me this is Jaimini’s Box taking certain liberties lol
(ETA: yeah, in Mangastream’s version he says “sit back with a nice cold one” which is much more in line with Japanese culture lol. still, Hawks does give off that stoner vibe a bit, can’t deny)
aww, but this part is sweet
though you do know you’ll end up putting a lot of heroes out of a job lol. safer world = no need for heroes. I’m sure most heroes would take that trade-off any day though
so now Endeavor is being all quiet and seemingly thoughtful
and he’s looking out the window
and... whaaaat is this
...do not fucking tell me this is a Noumu
holy fuck it’s a Noumu
um, what? can we back up just a sec? we just had a whole long discussion all about how there have been no verified Noumu sightings since AFO was locked up, and now one just happens to show up the instant the #1 and #2 heroes are done having their little talk?
lmao and now the hostess is coming with the check
maybe this Noumu’s uncannily good timing was cancelled out by this lady who has the worst timing that any human person has ever had in the history of existence
holy shit look how dramatic this is!?
“HELLO MY NAME IS TALKING NOUMU. WHICH IS THE STRONGEST ONE. RARRRR”
Endeavor is telling Hawks to lead the evacuation
Hawks is asking “what about you?” as if that part wasn’t obvious
RIGHT? suspiciously good timing if you ask me. I don’t have any real clue what’s going on yet, but damned if this is a coincidence
anyways now Endeavor is showing us just why he’s the current number one!
TAKE THAT, SUSPICIOUS TALKING NOUMU
and next chapter we’ll apparently get a whole Endeavor battle. well I hope it’s interesting! this arc is off to a bit of a weird start for me, but I think it’s because several of the pieces have yet to fall into place completely. there are a lot of weird coincidences and things that seem Just A Little Bit Off, and I feel like once we learn why, I’m going to be like, “ohhhhhhh!!”
(ETA: yeah, needless to say there were a lot of “ohhhhhh!!” moments and this arc is incredibly dense on a reread. so much going on here omg. this is good stuff)
no bonus today! I almost ran out of time to even put tags. anyways, toast ‘em Endeavor
#bnha#boku no hero academia#endeavor#hawks#bnha spoilers#mha spoilers#makeste reads bnha#I spent too much time essaying about hawks apparently#'oooh I'm hawks'#'I'm ridiculously handsome and have secret angst'#'not to mention a super secret spy mission with plot potential for days'#'and that has like a ninety percent likelihood of getting me either traumatized or killed'#damn you hawks

11 question meme
I try to be mysterious but I love taking about myself
Rules: Answer your set of questions and add 11 of your own
Tagged by: @butwewereanempire *winky face kiss emoji*
1. What is your fondest memory?
I’m not sure. I have some fond memories but most of them were tainted by these people later on hurting me or something bad happening. Sometimes oddly graphic fond memories come up again though, like scenes in a movie. Pineapple juice with ice cubes with a girl from Ecuador that shared my name. Finding out that the bumblebees in my grandma’s garden went into a little hole in the ground. Having Renée sleeping at my place for the first time and us baking brownies together that we also had for breakfast on toast the next day. Valentine's day this year, me alone at 7am on my balcony in the thickest sweater with a giant mug of green tea, enjoying the cold. Sitting with Laura on the windowsill of her room on the 6th floor, loudly playing fuck-marry-kill at 2am. A night walk in our pajamas through the hotel park with Asia. Sitting in this jazz café with a red haired boy that later on abandoned me.
2. What is the weirdest and/or dumbest thing you’ve done with your friends (or for them)
All my friends are terribly weird and so am I, I don’t think anything we’ve ever done was normal. Helping a friend hide the fact that he was building a blunt in the supreme court, for example. The windowsill thing was definitely up there as well, considering the fact that we let ourselves fall backward, hoping that the bed was in the right place (it was). Walking barefoot through the lake and then lying on the gravel yelling “I AM THE SAND GUARDIAN, GUARDIAN OF THE SAND”. That one time i volunteered to pierce 2 girls’ ears in our room during the class trip, while one was half naked because a 3rd girl was dying her hair. I succeeded, they’re very happy with the results.
3. Villains or heroes or anything in between?
Listennn I love me a Good Hopeful Hero that just genuinely wants to do good and help people. Fuck yall, its not boring. But the rule of thumb for me is Anti Hero. I, for one, am an anti hero, and I love anti heroes.
4. What is your biggest pet peeve in any kind of writing
When the writers don’t care enough about the audience the actually make three dimensional, complex, unique, diverse characters. When beloved characters get dragged through the mud because it's easier to write them emotionally stunted, straight, and stereotypical. Amazing and creative plotline possibilities going to waste because million dollar studios are afraid to take risks. Overgoing and tbh insulting fans. I just,,,, care a lot about character writing and I don’t fucking get why you would purposefully do the exact opposite of what your loyal audience wants you to do.
5. What is your ideal aesthetic and what is your honest one?
Ideal: Black and white, dark blue dark red, lilac. Ravenclaw & Slytherin. Books about astrophysics, arched eyebrows behind glasses. Ambition and intelligence. Knives and flowers. Snowy mornings, the sound of your boots/heels hitting the ground when you step into a room with confidence. Holding all the power and knowing it. Plants and the song “Killer queen”. Elegance and oddity. Vampires and Aliens. Smiles through bloody teeth, bold fashion choices. “Okay, so i lied”, “The darker the night the brighter the stars”. Coffee shop dates with your friends, holding a face gently between your hands. Cold eyes turning soft for the right people, dancing with flowy clothes. Studying anything and everything, walking through the streets of a beautiful big city on your own. Shameless flirting and dangerous grins, smooth criminal as your theme song (and a lot more, i have a whole folder)
Honest: Similar, but also: Cold stares and clenched jaws. Purple circles under you eyes, looking into the night sky and sighing wistfully. Sitting alone in a room full of people. Melancholia and nostalgia while aggressively rejecting sentimentality. Planning 3 years ahead. Having no place that feels like home. A not really hidden meaning behind sentences, revealing itself only to those who listen closely enough to analyze the careful choice of words. Aching to live in fiction, or in the future. Staring at people who left you when they can’t see it, wondering why you couldn’t keep them. Telling people you work better alone, when in truth you simply always had to. Bruised knuckles, a poker face with tear-shot eyes.
6. Best breakfast you ever had?
Me and my dad driving to the city to eat in this amazing breakfast restaurant and then walking around the city until noon. I just,,, love that shit.
7. Whats the book you’d like to read but hasn’t been written yet like?
I.. honestly don’t have a good answer to that yet. Maybe sometime later
8. We all have A Type. Whats yours?
Dating wise? I’m somehow into gingers. As a professional bisexual, i must say I prefer boys with light hair, and for girls, i don’t really have a preference. Outside of gender, i must say i like people who are rather the opposite of me. I like sunshines, kind people with big smiles. But i’m also into power-couples, so be my sunshine but also kick somebody’s ass with me. For fictional characters? I honestly don’t know, some characters just draw me in.
9. Out there, in some parallel universe where shit never happened, there is a better version of you - the person you’d like to be. What are they like?
Less troubled, less melancholic. Maybe not constantly abandoned. Not constantly doubting herself, always expecting people not to want her around. A better person, maybe living in the present for once, having a good life for more than 5 hours for once. But other than that I don’t like the idea of “fixing” my issues. They make me who I am. I don’t want to be fixed, i want to be helped
10. What would you get into an argument over?
Most things. I’m a very confrontational person, I let people know when i don’t agree with something, I’m honest about my opinions, and i have said opinions about pretty much everything.
11. 3 things you love when people do and 3 you absolutely hate
love: - people being genuinely happy to see me - when you and the other person care about each others interests & passions and rant and debate for hours - when somebody stands out in the crowd due to dressing with a unique sense of fashion, and stands up for what and who they believe; Just generally people who light the whole room up when they walk in
hate: - “of course we’re friends!” *proceed to not give a shit about you* - people who ditch you as soon as shit gets complicated because they can’t handle people with problems - When people can’t stand the fact that you’re doing You and living the way you want to, but are also too afraid to tell you what their problem is
