Could you write Viktor (arcane) with reader who is clingy and loves to skinship please.
arcane imagines- viktor
Christmas party
[arcane] [main page] prompt: viktor takes you to his work party in which to show you off. His coworkers were shocked at how much pda he shared with you. Not seeming like the type to do so. (i think i made him a little ooc...)
Footsteps creep close to you as you're hunched over your desk, typing away on your laptop. “Love? That you?” You don’t even glance behind you, finishing the sentence but still leaning your head toward the sound as if you were going to give the person your attention.
“If it was someone else that would mean someone broke in, hun.” The most familiar accent whispers into your ear, kissing your temple. “I’d better become more aware of my surroundings then.” You finally place your hands in your lap, turning the chair to face your boyfriend. Grabbing at his tie to keep him down so you can kiss his lips. “Missed you~” You coo.
“I missed you too.” He mutters against your lips as you force yourself to stand up, deepening your already locked lips.
You were obsessed with your boyfriend, almost unhealthily as you felt the urge to always, always touch him in some sort of aspect. He pulls away, placing a finger on your lips before you could bombard his lips once again. “I have a work party.” He spits out with half-lidded eyes, craving another kiss from you.
You scrunch your nose. “Alright, when is it?” You press your lips to his finger playfully. “I’ll miss you while you’re gone.” You tell him.
He snickers, “I want you to come with me, dear.” His hand held onto your waist, and your eyes gleamed. “Really? Are you sure?” You question, only making sure because Viktor is extremely private with his life. Taking things slow was in his blood, you didn’t mind it though. You loved this man. And as you respect him, he respects you.
Your love language is physical touch and as his normally isn’t he still let you touch him whenever you pleased. Now he expects it, now he actually loves it. He yearns for it For you.
“Of course, we haven’t had a party since the first week of us dating, same time last year.” He begins, “it’s been a year and I want to show off the love of my life.” He pecks your cheek and you bite your lip, holding yourself back from pouncing on this man.
“It’s this Friday, I’m sorry for the late notice.” He juts out his bottom lip. “You knew I’d be free though, don’t lie.” You boop his nose, your hand was trailing up and down his arm,
“I’ll get our outfits together. I’m extremely excited now.” You let him go, grabbing your phone. He leans against his cane, watching you fervently scroll on the device. “How would you feel about the color red? Since it’s a Christmas party I’m guessing?” You ask, sneaking a few peaks up at your boyfriend who’s trying to hide his smile.
“I say, choose whatever you like, dear.” He walks over to your closet to grab pajamas he left from the many nights of sleeping over here at your apartment.
“You spoil me.” You giggle, shutting your laptop and going to your bed to flop down on your stomach. “Always,” he mumbles as he changes out of his work clothes. Unbuttoning his white shirt. You break away from your screen just to take in the view before you. You let out a small whistle and he rolls his eyes, throwing the clothing at your head and you let out a laugh. “You're such a pretty boy.” You hum, hugging the shirt to your chest as you bounce up to your knees.
“[Name].” He warns and you giggle. “Sorry, sorry. I know I’m just too seductive.” You wink, crawling to the edge of the mattress, motioning for him to come close. He got his plaid soft pants on before walking over, holding a sweater he was about to throw on. “Yes, dear?” He looks down at you.
“I love you.” Your hands go to his sides, pursing out your lips to which he smooches. “I love you too.” He gets his sweater on and you pout, keeping your hands on his skin. Not allowing the cloth to go all the way down. “Wanna watch a movie?” He asks with a lopsided smile.
“Mm, movie?” Your eyebrows are knitted together, Gaping up at him as your mitts wander all over his skin. “Dear,” he grins, snatching at your wrists to pull them away. “Let’s watch a movie.” He climbs into his designated assigned side of the bed. “Oh okay, so you hate me.” You dramatically sigh, snuggling into his side immediately along with handing him the remote. Viktor snorts, turning on the tv.
•••
“Dear, what is taking so long?!” Viktor shouts from outside your bathroom, fixing his red holiday tie. “One moment, I’m almost ready, I swear!” You yell back, checking yourself out in the large mirror. The dress felt a little tight in your chest area. Pressing your lips together, trying to adjust it but nothing helps it. “Oh well.” You whisper, shutting off the lights and exiting the tiny room.
“How do I look?” You give a twirl, your heels clicking on the wooden floors. Viktor gawks at his girlfriend, his cheeks flushing. “I’m guessing it looks good?” You tease, grasping at his hand to force it on your hip. Wasn’t much of a hassle to do. “Of course, more than good.”
“Great, let’s go.” You press him into a kiss. His hand falling to his side as you strut away. Slipping your purse over your shoulder. He follows behind you, his eyes never leaving your body that looked absolutely stunning in the red dress.
•••
“Are you sure they’ll like me?” You glance up to your boyfriend, walking hand in hand into the building. “Hun, that’s a silly question.” He squeezes your hand. You smile, bussing his soft lips. A gentleman opens the door for the both of you, you thank him as Viktor nods his head to the man.
You admire all of the decorations in the large hallway. “I can’t believe you work here.” You murmur, it was gorgeous on the inside and out. “It is quite nice.” He agrees.
“It should be in the media room.” Viktor directs you, pointing with his cane. “You never told me this place was ginormous” You genuinely are impressed with his workplace, not seeming to stop with compliments. He just smiles at your words,
At last you two enter what looks like a ball room. Your eyes widen. Clutching his hand. “Wow.” You whisper in admiration. “Heyy! Viktor and who’s this?” An unfamiliar man comes up to the both of you. You smile politely. “This is my girlfriend, [Name]. Hun, this is Jayce. My partner on the latest assignment I told you about.” He introduces and you thrust out your hand. “It’s nice to meet you! I’ve heard lots.”
His expression was in utter confusement but nonetheless took your hand, noticing the other one holding onto his coworker’s. Which shouldn’t be surprising he was just told you were his girlfriend. “You as well, how long have you two been with one another?”
You look over to Viktor who motions for you to go ahead and answer. “We just celebrated our 1 year last week actually.” You inform him, letting go of Viktor’s hand to hold onto his side. Jayce catches that as well. He didn’t figure that his work partner would be into physical touch but he just melts into your touch.
“Well, congratulations.” Jayce says to you, glancing over to Viktor who was just gawking down at you. It was if he were in some weird trance. “Thank you!” You beam.
“Of course, let me introduce you to my wife. She’s actually a part of the executive team and planned the party herself- I’ll be right back.” He says, heading off to find his life-partner and you look to Viktor. “He seemed lovely!” You bump his hip gently. “He is a genuine man, for sure.”
The two of you go over to the snack table, Viktor’s hand stays on the small of your back as you make a plate for the both of you to share. Waiting for Jayce to come back with the mystery woman, well mystery to you.
“Do you want fruit?” You ask. “Sure.” He shrugs. You look back to him with an annoyed look. “Yes, dear.” He corrects himself, and you chuckle. You hate the word sure with a passion. It never tells you what the person truly wants.
“Thank you.” You huff, finishing up the plate.
You snake your hand back to his torso, you feed him a grape as you step to a table. A voice clears their throat behind you and you place the plate down. Both of you turned to whoever it was.
“Mel, this is Viktor’s girlfriend, [Name].” Jayce presents you as if you were a huge surprise and you straighten your posture, swallowing down the fruit you had just popped in your mouth. “You’re beautiful!” You spit out on accident and she giggles. “So are you! I didn’t know Viktor had such exquisite taste.” Mel flatters you and you radiate happily.
“Oh! You’re too kind!” You blush, sheepishly squeezing yourself into your boyfriend’s side. Both Jayce and Mel observe your demeanors. How utterly in love you guys are.
How every move he takes, you follow, or how your hands are glued to him in any way they can be. And Viktor wasn’t any better, he liquefies into every touch. His peepers at no time leaving sight of you.
As the four of you chat you suddenly have to use the bathroom, you try to look around. Wondering where it could be but you didn’t want to interrupt the conversation. You chew at your bottom lip, Viktor notices. “You alright, dear?” He whispers into your ear and you nod. “Mhm, where’s the restroom?” You couldn’t hold it anymore.
Mel overhears. “Oh, I can show you! Come with me!” She offers out a hand and you take it, not without kissing Viktor’s shoulder.
As the two of you walk away, Jayce turns to his work partner with wide eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me about her!?” He aggressively questions and Viktor sighs. “I mean seriously! She’s wonderful!” He continues.
“She is.” Viktor nods, stuffing his empty hand into his pocket. “And you are so whipped for her. I mean the pda. I did not take you to do that.” Jayce was incredibly dramatic but Viktor kind of expected it.
“Are you done?”
“Almost,” Jayce says. “You melt right into her, and you can’t look away for a single second. You’re obsessed with the woman!” He exclaims loudly.
“Of course I am, Jayce. She’s my girlfriend.” Viktor lets out yet another sigh. “I know but I’ve never seen you with such… love in your eyes. You never look at me like that.” Jayce teases. Viktor glares at the man in front of him. “You’re an idiot, Tallis.” Viktor sees you heading back, mentally cheering that he doesn’t have to listen to this anymore.
Mel and you were laughing with one another, your hand holding your stomach. The two of you leaning on one another. “You are so bad!” Mel shakes her head, giving your hand a small pat as you calm yourself. “I know, I know! That’s not even the worst of it!” You cry out, Viktor’s lips tug upwards. Jayce was even grinning ear to ear at the two women enjoying themselves like this.
“What are you two laughing about?” Jayce questions and even Viktor’s intrigued. “Oh, um, I’m telling her about how Viktor and I met.” You disclose, raising your brows over to Viktor with a smirk. His cheeks turn red, remembering the moment. “What was so funny about it?” The tanned male asks.
Viktor bows his head down, it was embarrassing on his part.
“It was at a grocery store, both him and I were looking at the cucumbers and grabbed the same one. Like straight out of a romantic movie. Except Viktor told me that I would probably need it more than him.” You tell the story, going over to your boyfriend's side, taking his hand. “Oh my god.” Jayce gasps but Mel gently hits him. “It’s not even the best part!” She already starts snickering.
“I told him that I need more than a cucumber for satisfaction. I was trying to flirt, it came out horribly.” You giggle, the two in front of you bursting into laughter. Viktor hides his own chuckle. “How did little Vik respond to that?” Jayce inquires. “Oh he was too stunned and I of course made it worse for myself!”
“I told him, oh gosh I don’t know if I can say it.” You hide your face in your boyfriend’s shoulder. “I can do it.” Viktor perks up now that the worst of his part is over. “Go ahead.” You clench your teeth, cringing at the memory. Jayce and Mel are practically on their toes, so excited to hear.
“She told me that she’d take my cucumber though. Then her face dropped, realizing what she said. She then backtracks and she says she meant number but the cucumber joke messed her up.” He tells the rest of the story. Even explaining how your first date went.
And as time passed throughout the night you were chatting it up with everyone that came over. With that you could feel Viktor’s energy begin to deflate. You excuse yourself from the group conversation and walk over to the punch table. “You okay, dear?” Viktor worriedly asks. You knew he wouldn’t leave unless you said you wanted to. “I’m getting a little tired of all the talking.” You lie, pulling him into a hug.
“You ready to go home?” He rubs your back, soothingly. “Mhm, as long as you’re okay with that?” You innocently look up at him. Knowing you were playing him too well. “Of course, [Name].” He plants a kiss on your forehead.
“Let’s go say our goodbyes and we can head home.” He assures you and you smirk as you give him one last hug.
•••
Turning the car on, you look over to your boyfriend who’s closing his eyes, resting in his seat. “I lied.” You back out of the spot. “Excuse me?” He opens his left eye, raising a brow. “I didn’t care if we left or not. I just knew you wanted to leave.” You simply say, pushing the gear into drive before laying your hand on his thigh.
“What?” He sits up. “I lied because I knew you would’ve forced yourself to stay for my enjoyment.” You inform him with pursed out lips, wanting to pat yourself on the back. “Honey, you didn’t have to do that.” His hand falls a top yours. “I know but I love you and know the love of my life so well. I’d rather spend the rest of the night with you.” You look over at him.
“I love you so much.” He groans out, throwing his head back. “Really? How much?” You stick out the tip of your tongue. His hand travels up your forearm then back down. Repeating this action. “I’ll have to show you when we get home, won’t I?” He purrs and you let out a squeal in excitement.

It was a normal Thursday morning for Agnes and her daughter Y/n.
You trudged out of bed, blanket wrapped around you as you made your way downstairs to see your mom, Agnes O'Connor, making her morning coffee none too happily.
“Good morning,” you said, smiling a little as you sipped on the cup of coffee she had kept ready for you, in response to which you recieved a short grunt.
Agnes O'Connor really wasn't a morning person.
The sound of rain broke the silence that hung heavy between you both, and as the chill seemed to only increase, you pulled your blanket tighter around your shoulders, feeling your hands tingle with the warmth of the cup in them. The sharp ringtone of her phone made you jump a little, but her chatter faded into the background as your attention went to the kitchen window.
The fog lay thick, same as when you had woken. However, it seemed to strike a chill down your spine which stood out from the cold of the season. Through the pattering of rain on glass, you could hear loud T.V static, the sound of canned laughter. Normal but...foreboding.
Your gaze darted behind to where the T.V was, but the flat-screen was dark, inactive. The sound was from right where you had been looking before--outside. You squinted through the gaps the raindrops left on the glass, to see an old-timey T.V right there in the middle of the street, showing a black-and-white sitcom. The words were not clear, same as the faces of the characters, but you felt like you'd been there before. Not like reminiscence, not like déjà -vu. Just...familiar.
You blinked rapidly as everything came back into focus. Your mom looked happier than she had in maybe weeks, and you didn't want to ask about phantom T.Vs in the fear of maybe wrecking this strange sense of happiness she seemed to have.
"Get in the car, kid, you're coming to work with me today," she said, tossing her keys up and catching them with an audible jingle.
You groaned. You did not want to spend several hours just sitting in her office, watching her play Candy Crush.
"Great," you grumbled sarcastically, going upstairs to change your clothes. Pulling on plain, comfortable clothes, you discreetly stole her green flannel shirt and pulled it on, combing your hair carefully. You were a lazy teen, yes, but you weren’t an animal.
The car rolled down the empty road, the haze seeming to part like the Red Sea, while the view beyond the windows warped with the raindrops running down it. You rested your elbow against the glass, head resting on your palm as you scrolled through a website on your phone, the rumble of the car pairing with the pattering of rain to create the perfect ambiance for silence.
“So,” your mom said, breaking the somewhat comfortable quietness that had settled. “What’s the latest hyperfixation?”
“Still history,” you said in a bored monotone.
“What’cha reading about on that tiny screen anyway?”
“The Salem Witch Trials,”
Agnes rolled her eyes subtly, which you ignored, and shrugged, “You realise none of that matters anymore, right?”
“You mean the repression of women and the deprivation of knowledge they faced due to the fear of being burnt at the stake under the accusation of being a witch just cause she can count to ten? Yeah, pretty sure that matters,” you deadpanned.
“Jeez,” she scoffed.
You rolled your eyes. She’d been sour and irritable for months now, especially after her riding the desk period.
“I don’t get why I have to come,” you said. “I’m seventeen, the worst thing I’ll probably do is watch A-rated stuff on Netflix,”
“Yeah, well I needed your true-crime expertise,” she said curtly. “And you gotta spend your suspension productively somehow, don’t you?”
“Well if the police system in Westview wasn’t so shit, maybe you wouldn’t even need a seventeen year old to help you solve a murder. And for the last time, my suspension is actually invalid, unlike yours,” you rolled your eyes, earning a sharp flick on your temple from her.
“Don’t even start,” she scowled. “We’re shorthanded here,”
“Sounds like a you problem,”
“Sounds like a week of no phone if you keep up with this attitude, little miss,”
The silence settled again, broken by only the sound of her humming a strange, soft tune. You liked it, but you weren’t going to admit it, no way.
Your eyes caught sight of a car wreck just on the side of the road, which was concerning because they weren’t any skid marks from what you could see through the watery glass. You shook your head. You’d clearly been watching too much true crime lately.
The car halted, and she exited, holding the two coffees she’d bought, nodding at you to get out which you reciprocated with an eye roll.
The air was colder here, the chill of a murder hanging in it, standing out deliciously. You noticed a dark, smoky figure dancing in your peripheral vision, but you blinked and it was gone. Shaking the strange feeling, you shoved your hands in the pockets of your jeans, standing beside Agnes.
“Another beautiful day,” said your mother.
“Hey Herb,” you nodded at the man, who stood behind the yellow tape.
“Hey, neighbour,” he nodded at you both, gaze shifting over to Agatha. “Surprised to see you out here, Detective,”
“Oh, and the sixteen year old isn’t surprising?” She scoffed, earning a shrug from him. She shook her head and continued, “There I was, sitting on my duff, playing Candy Crush, happy as a clam, enjoying the fruits of my undeserved disciplinary action—“
You scoffed and rolled your eyes, kicking at a stone on the ground. “Beg to differ,”
“You punched a suspect,” Herb deadpanned.
“Oh, now a convicted felon. I can’t be right and wrong at the same time,” she shrugged.
“Debatable,” you singsonged quietly, earning a kick to your shin.
“Yes, you can,” he confirmed.
“When the Chief calls and tells me, ‘Hibernation’s over. ‘Got a case only you can solve.’,” sensing his skepticism, she added, “Direct quote,”
He sighed with defeat and pulled up the tape, allowing you both in. You chuckled softly and patted his shoulder with sympathy, earning a soft laugh from his end.
“Playing hooky, Y/n?” He asked as you walked beside him.
“Suspension,” you grumbled. “Punched a kid in the face,”
“Moving on from the start of your delinquent career,” Agnes interrupted, prompting Herb to continue.
“Jane Doe. Found her down here by the water. Dispatch was tipped off by an anonymous call,” he explained.
“Basic,” you rolled your eyes. “Lasting evidence?”
“This is all she had on her,” Herb handed over an evidence bag with something in it—a library card.
“What’s this? From a library book?” She asked, snatching it away.
“No shit, mom,” you scoffed, looking around the area for clues. “And real mature for a 50 year old,”
“Watch your mouth,” she snapped.
“Westview branch,” Herb interjected.
“Cause?” She asked.
“Blunt force trauma,”
Blunt force trauma? Unless she’s been clocked over the head at the library with a dictionary, you didn’t see any cliffs she could’ve been thrown off of.
As if she’d read your mind, your mother said, “Not much of a drop around here. She fall?”
“She was crushed,” he sighed.
Crushed? Even better. Where could you find boulders in a creek where the biggest stone was probably the same size as your hand?
“By what?”
“Something big. And heavy,”
“So she didn’t die here,”
“She is dead, though, isn’t she, Herb?” She asked, brow raised.
“Oh, she’s really, most sincerely dead,” he confirmed.
“You never know,”
The body lay face down beside the creek, and you could’ve sworn you saw that same shadowy figure, this time with a flash of…green? It vanished before you could make sense of it.
The woman wore a hoodie and slacks—house clothes, suggesting a home murder? Maybe? This case was too complicated. Blunt force trauma with nothing in particular, a library card, and clothes which resembled a breakup uniform. It made as much sense as a toddler’s handwriting.
Your mother had vanished somewhere, looking for clues, leaving you alone with forensics and the body, surrounded by yellow tape.
The air grew another chill, separate from the one caused by the rain. You felt someone breathing down your neck, and turned sharply to check who it was.
Strangely, nobody.
Your head gave a sharp stab of pain, and you winced, the voices in your head growing loudest, but still giving way to one, familiar voice. And all it said was a single sentence. ‘Snap out of it,’
There was a snap of someone’s fingers near your ear, and the voices went back down to whispers in the back of your mind.
Agnes knelt beside the body, freshly rolled over.
“Who are you?” She asked quietly. “What happened to you?”
“You okay, Agnes?” Herb asked, concerned.
“How do you mean?” She snapped.
“You don’t seem like yourself.” He said nervously.
“For starters you’re asking a dead body for answers,” you smirked, poking her cheek.
She smacked your hand away. “Oh, yeah? And who is that exactly? I’ll try to be more cheerful for you next time,” her tone was bitter as she stood up. “But right now this unidentified woman lying dead in a creek has just got me down in the dumps,”
“Jeez, looks like someone’s hormonal,” you rolled your eyes, bumping her shoulder as you walked past her. “I can’t tell who’s the teenager here,”
“Shut up,” she snapped at you, turning to Herb. “Let me know when the dental records come in,”
You sat in the car with her again, on the way to the library. Yet again, there was that silence—that uncomfortable, thin-ice kind of silence which frankly drove you up the wall. There was a time where you would make jokes with her, a time where you both would sing to shitty music on the radio, but that was long gone. Now, all you both did was sit together, a cavernous distance between you two which, in reality, was just a few inches apart.
You loved your mother, of course you did, but it was at times like these where you felt she didn’t feel the same.
“What do you think, hm?” She asked at last—that same, irritated, clipped tone breaking through your thoughts.
“About what? If it’s your fashion sense, I think we could use some work—“ you began, judgement evident in your own tone.
“About the case,” she sighed. “Cut it out with the sarcasm,”
“Hey, all I’m saying is that the broke noir-chic is starting to look a little bit more divorce-chic except you’re not getting the benefits,” you shrugged. “But as for the case, there’s definitely more to it,”
“Okay, and?” She prompted.
You paused, gathering your thoughts. “Well, for starters, the method of killing is hazy. She died of blunt force trauma, but that was inflicted by crushing, but this is Westview. The biggest boulder in the creek is probably a skipping stone. And you can’t crush someone with that. Not their whole body, definitely,”
She hummed thoughtfully. You hated how the only time you talked was about cases. It was never about school, or football, or anything else. Always murder, crime, arrest.
“Whatever, anyway,” you rolled your eyes. “We’ve reached,”
The library had a stupendously long queue, and you were about stand in it, only to have Agnes grip your wrist and pull you forward.
“Ah. Official police business. Excuse me, excuse me,” she said, pushing past them all, earning disgruntled comments from them all.
“You use that line at the supermarket checkout, too?” Dottie, the library clerk asked.
“It’s embarrassing,” you sighed, avoiding eye contact with Agnes.
“Only suckers wait their turn,” your crazy mother replied haughtily.
“How can I help you, Agnes?” Dottie asked, sighing softly.
She produced the library card, the packet crinkling as it hit the desk. “Found this on a victim,”
“Ooh. Who’s the victim? Is she dead?” The lady asked.
“Now, why do you assume it’s a woman?” Your mother frowned.
“Exactly,” you frowned. “Statistically, males are more subject to be murder victims, given that on an average, only 30% of victims are women,”
The lady gave you a prompt side eye, saying, “I don’t know. Sounds more titillating,”
She took a look at the card, shaking her head, “There are no names on here,”
“But there are dates,” Agnes interjected.
“We don’t use cards anymore. Everything’s digital now. Sorry,” she grimaced.
“Well, thanks a bunch for your help, Dottie. You’ve been an absolute angel. Incidentally,” Agnes’s voice rose to a shout as she added, “Where were you last night between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 a.m.?”
You put your head down, covering your ears and groaning. “You’re an embarrassment, mother,”
Just to shut her up, thus sympathising with you, Dottie calmed her down, “I guess I could run the book title,”
“Oh, can you?” She snapped sarcastically. “Come on, Y/n,”
“No, no, no,” you shook your head, evading her attempt to yank you in the library. “It’s time for you to be an adult and give me some money for ice cream after I just suffered second hand embarrassment at your hands,”
“Fine,” she conceded, after holding your gaze for a good ten seconds, handing you some money.
“Thank you,” you said firmly, marching out of the library.
You heaved a sigh of relief, as if you'd exhaled a breath you didn't know you'd been holding. The sun shone down on the pavement, casting sharp shadows as you walked down the street to your favourite place--the coffee shop where you and your brother would participate in open mic nights. You remembered how well he'd sing with you accompanying him on the guitar...
You shook yourself out of your thoughts. You hated thinking about Nicky. It always ruined your mood. More so than your mother.
You entered the shop, sighing in relief at the familiar scent of chocolate chip cookies and ground coffee beans. The owner of the shop was a sweet old lady and her husband, both of whom were perhaps the kindest people in Westview.
"Hi there," you smiled, handing her the money. "Can I have my usual, please?"
The lady, Mrs. Jackson, smiled before saying, "Oh, that nice young woman over there already asked for one, paid for it, too,"
You turned in the direction where she was pointing, seeing a shockingly familiar woman in police attire, her hair pulled back in a low, loose bun at the nape of her neck, the top two buttons of her white shirt opened, while the sun glinted off the badge she had hung around her neck.
She beckoned you over with the curl of her finger, and you went over, sitting down in front of her.
"Hi there, Detective Vidal," you smiled slightly.
Rio chuckled softly, pushing the cup of coffee towards you. "I see you're still stuck,"
You frowned a little at that. "Pardon?"
She shook her head. "Here, in Westview. I'd have thought your mom would've gotten sick of this place by now,"
You inhaled deeply, sipping the coffee happily. "Wishful thinking," you said. "That lady is fucking crazy. So...what brings you to town?"
"You know why I'm here," she nodded. You liked her for this reason. She was straightforward, just as enigmatic as a detective should be, yet she spoke with a kind of firm kindness which few could master.
"You're here to...get under mom's skin?" You tilted your head, curious.
She laughed, looking down as she shook her head. "I've been assigned to help with her...case,"
"Oh she's going to be pissed," you giggled, fingertips running along the edges of the saucer your cup was on. "But is this case really FBI worthy?"
"Well, it's worthy of federal intervention," she nodded. "But that's not entirely why I'm here,"
You nodded a little dejectedly. "Oh. You're not here for too long, then?"
"Just until this whole matter clears up," she shrugged. "Shouldn't be a while. But we can go for ice cream sometime. How're you holding up here?"
You paused, meeting her gaze fully for a good minute. An aura danced along her outline--black and hazy. Your fingertips tingled against the warm ceramic of the cup, and you felt that same stab of pain in your head like you had in the morning.
"Easy," Rio said softly, her fingertips tapping on your wrist. "Think through it, you're still stuck,"
The world bend out of shape for a good moment, the only thing remaining constant was her face. You squeezed your eyes shut, hearing the cup on the table tremble as the voices began to scream.
"Come on, nena," her voice was soft, quiet. "Snap out of it,"
You heard the snap next to your ear again, and when you opened your eyes, you saw through the veil for a moment. She was dressed in black, you could see the bones...
Down came the veil, and with it the voices quietened. Her face was normal again, soft jaw, sharp smile.
"You've got it in you, Y/n," she said softly, her hand still tracing your wrist. "Just snap out of it,"
You blinked, and she was gone.
The next morning, you woke up dazed. It was a similar morning like the previous day's--foggy, cloudy, confusing, gloomy. You avoided your mother completely, she seemed to be a little more off her rocker than usual.
"I'm assuming you're taking me to the office again?" You sighed softly as she grabbed the car keys.
"Yes ma'am, get your ass in the car in five," she said, heading out.
You squinted at said 'car'. It was...a broom on a desk in the living room? But you shook your head, going back to normal. It was just the same old Honda Civic she'd been driving the last few years you had been in Westview.
The station was radiating depression as per usual, and you groaned to yourself as you walked past the Chief with a brief good morning.
She settled in her chair while you sat on the couch, reading your book quietly.
“You hear what happened at the library?” Agnes asked the Chief.
“No, I—“ he began, but she cut him off.
“Somebody torched one of the stacks, like, took a flame thrower to it.”
“Oh, yeah?” He asked, distracted. “I’ll have one of the guys follow up. But listen, Agnes—“
“You got a spot on your shirt,” she pointed out.
“Oh—“
“And your tie,”
“Mom will you cut it out?” You asked, irritated with her constantly making the poor guy conscious.
“You makin’ breakfast smoothies again, Chief?” She asked, none too kindly. “You know you’re supposed to put the lid on before you blend it,”
He sighed, fully used to her antics. “Yes, I know. Um…listen, Agnes…”
She sighed deeply, irritated. “You’re about to tell me somethin’ I’m not gonna like,”
“Soil samples from under the fingernails and toenails of the Jane Doe came back,” he started, peaking your interest. “They don’t match the soil she was lyin’ in,”
“That’s no surprise. We assumed she’d been moved,” she said, nodding.
“Yeah, like perp probably carried her off,” you said.
“There were traces of a particular microbial sediment only found in Eastern Europe,” he sighed.
“That sounds like a hell lot of work for a perp,” you chuckled.
“Now get to the part I’m not gonna like,” she said, looking at him sharply.
He stepped aside from the door, and your expression brightened as a familiar woman entered the room.
“Here I am,” she said, her demeanour badass as per usual. “Hey, trouble,” she winked at you, earning a rare smile from you in return.
“You always find new ways to piss me off, don’t you, hon?” Agnes addressed you deadpan, her eyes fixed in Agent Vidal.
"Me? I'm an angel," you rolled your eyes.
“Okay,” Chief sighed.
“Fancy dirt always attracts the attention of the Feds,” Agnes scoffed disdainfully.
“Agent Vidal is an asset here, Agnes,” he reasoned. “More brain power and more resources mean you get to the finish line faster. Strength in numbers. Teamwork makes the dream—“
“Eat my ass, Chief,” she interrupted him.
“You’re just throwing a hissy fit because you’re not gonna be alone in the paper headlines,” you chuckled, earning an eraser chucked at your face.
“I’ll leave you to it, then,” Chief said simply, exiting the room.
“It’s been a long time,” Rio said, taking a seat in the sofa, playing with your hair gently.
"What are you doing here?" Agnes asked, arms crossed over her chest as she leaned back in her chair.
"My job,"
"You wanna take control of my investigation,"
"No," after a brief pause where her tongue pushed against the inside of her cheek, she said, "If you wanna be in control, you can be,"
Your brow raised, but you went back to your book, as Agnes continued speaking. "She…The body was moved across state lines. Is that your play?"
Rio took a moment to look around, sighing softly. "Is this really how you see yourself?"
You looked at her, head tilted, and brows furrowed. She continued her movements, her hand gently stroking your hair. You noticed the voices had quietened down significantly...
"Sure. Let’s talk about the case," she said eventually, resignation clear in her tone. "What are your theories? How’d she end up in the ravine? Trouble?" Her gaze went to you.
"My guess is she was killed elsewhere, probably rolled down the hill," you shrugged.
"No drag marks. Thinking the perp carried her," Agnes said.
"Uh… Seems logical, but you don’t really believe that because…" She stood up, placing the file down with pictures on it, taking a perch on the corner of Agnes' desk. "Oops. No tracks for the perp. Not a leaf disturbed before Forensics showed up. It’s almost like she just magically appeared," her voice took an odd tone, somewhat...coaxing?
"Let’s stick to reality here, yeah?" Your mother scoffed.
"Who hurt you? Whatever happened to alternate possibilities?" You rolled your eyes. "Like, who shat on your creativity?"
Rio stifled a laugh, earning a sharp glare from Agnes. She cleared her throat, "Sure,"
"If there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that these cases are always about the place," Agnes' tone was clear with the taste of theory within it, the backing of facts, the slight hint of senility. "The specific small town, the history of it, the people in it, the secrets buried beneath it. That’s where the answers lie,"
"Well, who better to solve the mystery than one of Westview’s very own?" Rio shrugged, moving off her perch. "Yeah, you’ve lived here your whole life. Isn’t that true… Agnes?"
The pause was jarring, carrying notes of coaxing again, the same tone she'd used at the coffee shop.
"I don’t want you here," Agnes scowled.
"Yeah, because anything even remotely comforting in my life you seem to hate," you scoffed, looking at Rio. "I'm sorry about her, she keeps waking up on the wrong side of the bed,"
"It's all good, nena," she nodded, before leaving the files on the table for Agnes. "I'll get you ice cream sometime before I leave town,"
You nodded, high-fiving her, before she nodded at Agnes. "Te veo," she said, leaving.
Your gaze snapped to her, angry. "What is wrong with you?"
"Me? What's wrong with you? Getting all mushy-mushy with the feds," she scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Maybe because she actually cares about me more than you, you wanted to say.
"I dunno, maybe because her helping with your investigation might mean I'll be free to do what I want," you scowled. "But obviously, you wouldn't care about my happiness, would you?"
You saw a flash of anger pass over her face, and you felt a sick sense of satisfaction. Maybe she finally understood how you felt, maybe this was hint enough—
"We're going to the pawn shop, come on," she snapped, standing up and grabbing her jacket.
No such luck.
You rolled your eyes and stood up, shrugging, "Sure thing,"
The pawn shop was musty, dank, and none too welcoming. You hated it.
“Is it real?” Agnes asked him.
“Oh, it’s real, all right. And it’s a beaut,” he said. “Where’d you get it?”
“Mind your beeswax, Norm,” she snapped. “Where’s it from? How old is it?”
“A picture of politeness and ladylike behaviour,” you rolled your eyes, playing around with a vintage puzzle box.
Norm chuckles in agreement before nodding, “North American. New England, maybe. Late 17th century, I guess. It’s made from cowrie shell,”
“What’s a cowrie?” She frowned.
“Sea snail,” he turned the brooch around and showed it to her, pointing at the ivory figures. “And these hotties here. That’s Triple Goddess. Maiden, Mother, Crone,”
“Common figures in witchcraft, late 17th century lore,” you added.
“What, no Working Professional Goddess?” She scoffed.
He chuckled and the brooch opened with a click, revealing a strand of hair. “Oh, hello,” he said. “Looks like your brooch is a locket. You looking to sell it, Agnes?”
She raised a brow. “How much you offering, Norm?”
“For you? Two hundred,” he shrugged.
“I smell bullshit,” you singsonged, grinning at him cheekily.
"Great. Now I know where to start the bidding on eBay," she snatched it back. "Come on, Y/n,"
"No, save me, Norm..." you mock-wailed, saluting him with two fingers as you exited the shop.
The sun went down and the moon came up, rising slowly in the sky as the nightly autumn chill set in. You napped on the couch, thoughts racing and mind a jumble of scenes and words while she worked.
"Go home, Agnes," Said the chief. "Or atleast call a cab for her," he nodded at your napping form.
"I am home, Chief," she said dismissively. "And I'm sure she's fine,"
The Chief switched her office lights off, earning a disgruntled noise of, "Hey!"
"Go home," he said forcefully.
You blinked sleepily as she shook your shoulder, groggy and tired.
"Come on, kid, we're going home," she said gruffly, grabbing her keys and her jacket, waiting for you.
You drowsily sat in the car, elbow leaning on the windowsill as you rested your cheek on your fist, dozing off slowly. You felt Agnes ruffle your hair gently.
“You did good today, kid,” she said quietly, as a quiet song played on the radio.
You smiled a little, tilting your head to fix your gaze on her. “Careful, you might say you love me, next,” you half-joked, earning a gentle punch to your shoulder.
She parked the car and got out of the driver’s seat, humming to herself still as you followed, still sleepy. You rested your forehead on her shoulder, slipping your hand into hers slowly. She sighed softly at that, but allowed it.
The house was quiet, you could sense some kind of odd energy around it—just like you’d felt an odd energy around everything else after meeting Rio at the cafe.
Almost like nothing was real…
You felt Agnes pull her hand from yours, saying, “I’ll set dinner in sometime,” she kept the distance between you both again. She went in his room, her movements slow and slightly sluggish.
You hated that room.
You heard a knock on the door as you lounged on the couch peacefully.
“What?” Came Agnes’ irritated voice.
“Did you know that it is a universally acknowledged truth that a lady cop cannot be good at her job and have a healthy personal life at the same time?” Came Rio’s voice. You heard the sound of pizza in a box. “Hungry?”
You sat up instantly, making space for Agnes on the couch, grinning when Rio came in.
“Hey, trouble,” she winked, taking a seat in the armchair, her blazer set aside and sitting in a comfy position, one leg perched on her knee, elbows resting comfortably on the armrests.
“Hi,” you smiled at her.
Agnes came with two beers and a bottle of cranberry juice for you. You accepted it with a slight smile towards her, still annoyed by before.
Soon, she started telling Rio cop stories like she used to do for you and him.
“So she’s a rookie, granted, but I say to her, ‘Has the suspect been seen in the last 24 hours?’” Agnes narrates, a laugh in her tone. “And she says, ‘Only on TikTok.’ And then I say, ‘Well, did you learn anything?’ And she says, ‘That I was totally using the wrong foundation brush.’”
You had taken a seat on the carpet in front of Rio, your back resting against her leg as she used her free hand to toy with the soft strands of your hair. You heard her chuckle and glanced up right when she smiled. You liked that expression. And when you heard Agnes laughing you liked it even more.
“Anyway…I have a lead in the case,” Agnes said.
“Oh do you? A lead which who gave you?” You raised a brow.
“Take it easy, trouble,” the FBI agent smiled. “That’s not why I came over,” Rio said. But she paused, before nodding. “But go ahead,”
“There was a car wreck, about an hour before time of death,” she stated.
“Where?” Rio asked.
“Eastview.”
“Eastview? See, I thought you turned into a pumpkin that far afield,”
She smirked. “Hey, I travel. I’m worldly,”
Rio chuckled. “Where have you traveled?“
You felt the answer on the tip of your tongue, but strangely you couldn’t tell past last year when you’d gone for a summer camp past Eastview.
Sensing the sudden shift in focus, Rio brought you both back. “Okay, so what about the car wreck?”
“Bloodstain in the back seat,” she stated, an odd look in her eye.
“You think that’s how they moved her?”
“Front two airbags deployed,”
“Maybe two perps?”
“Maybe,”
Rio squinted. “But you don’t like it,”
“My gut tells me they’re related,” Agnes shook her head, “But I can’t shake this feeling I’m seeing it wrong,”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Yeah,”
“Do you remember why you hate me?”
A pause. An uncomfortable, odd pause.
“No,”
“Are you hiding evidence?” She raised a brow.
“No,” she sighed.
“Well, you’re only lying to yourself—“ before she could finish, there was a loud clatter from upstairs. You moved to go investigate with her, but she shook her head.
“Stay here,” she scowled. “I don’t want you getting hurt in case the guy’s armed, that more paperwork for me,”
“Oh how thoughtful,” you rolled your eyes.
As she went upstairs to investigate, you sat on the couch again, patting it for Rio. “Wanna sit?”
She chuckled. “Sure thing,”
You turned on F.R.I.E.N.D.S, letting it play on a low volume, resting your body against hers. You lay your head in her lap eventually, letting her hand gently rub your arm soothingly.
Her voice was soft as she spoke. “Nena,” she said. “How’re the voices?”
“Loud,” you mumbled, shifting your knees up to your chest a little, an arm wrapping around them.
They got steadily louder as she spoke, making you wince and squirm slightly.
“Easy,” she warned.
“They’re so fucking loud…” you hissed, irritated. The objects in the room began to rattle slightly.
“You’re still Y/n,” she said softly. “But not this version,”
“The fuck do you mean?” You asked, irritated.
“I mean that she kept you trapped,”
“Who? Mom? Yeah no shit,”
She chuckled but shook her head. “No, not her. You remember her name,”
Flashes of something went through your mind—you saw everything in black and white at first. You felt the world tilt and bend, felt nausea rise at the back of your throat.
“She’s kept you in this prison,” she said softly. “She’s just kept you like this—docile, dormant…”
“No, no,” you shook your head. “Mom said the voices are just some psychological thing—“
“Listen to the voices,” Rio urged. “Hear them closely,”
Another flash of something—an empty street, crying boys, a woman in red with hair the colour of…scarlet.
“Wanda—“ you choked out, gasping. The voices slowed from a cacophony to different voices, familiar voices from your past.
All screaming into your ears one thing: Snap out of it.
“That’s right, nena,” she whispered. “Keep trying,”
Your eyes went dark, black throughout the whites and irises, smoky black magic curling at your fingertips. You looked around you at the still-bending reality.
“What’s real?” You gasped out, feeling the magic pulse with your blood. You felt complete for the first time in three years.
“She’s kept you imprisoned for three years, locking away your ability,” Rio said. “You’re not just angry at Agatha for these centuries of hurt, you’re angry at Wanda for making you feel…”
“Powerless,” you completed. “I’ve been feeling powerless because of her,”
She nodded, a sly smile on her face. “You wanna try something with me?”
You nodded, grinning somewhat evilly. “Sure,”
“First, I’m gonna have to project on your mom’s mind, wanna help with that?”
You nodded, devious smile on your face. “I thought you’d never ask,”
Her smile matched yours instantly. “That’s my girl,”
You saw Agnes entering the room with a random boy, making you frown in utter confusion, before you used your power to help Rio get in her head. While you did so, you felt clearer on your own powers.
You were just like Mami.
Dark magic, soul magic. The kind where you could stop a person’s breathing and pluck the very thing that made them human right from their system. The kind where you could change your face to anyone who’d had a beating heart at will. The kind where you could shake the devil’s hand while playing with the angels.
Life and Death, you were the balance.
You felt time ticking by slowly but surely, you headed up to your room in a daze. You saw it clearly now—you understood just how senile you and your mother had been acting the past few days.
“Sleep,” you heard Rio’s voice in your head.
You did.
The next morning you woke up to sunlight streaming through your curtains, the day was warm. You squirmed out from under the covers, noticing yourself in the mirror. You smirked a little. You looked visibly warmer, as if lifting the spell had breathed some extra life into you. Ironic.
Just to check if last night was real, you moved your fingers like your mother had taught you, lifting a pencil and placing it down simply. You grinned with clear, childlike excitement.
“I’m back, baby,” you smirked.
However, your thoughts were interrupted by a loud, angry scream from downstairs.
You nearly fell as you ran down, knife in hand already. It lowered instantly as you saw Agatha in the room.
Naked.
Your own scream matched hers as you covered your eyes with your hands. “Mom get some fucking clothes on, you disgusting woman!”
“Shut up,” she rolled her eyes. “I assume she got you out, too?”
“Obviously,” you grumbled.
“What’s up your ass this morning?”
“I don’t know, maybe the fact that the first thing I see upon being fully conscious is my mother standing in the living room stark-staring NAKED?”
Before you could comprehend her fast reply, she had dashed out of the house, making you groan in annoyance. You ran out after her, but not before you pulled on a jacket to hide your face with.
“Mom, mama, mother, please—“ you pleaded, looking through her rather than at her, trying to fix how awkward this was.
“Oh! Whoa!” You heard Herb exclaim. “What? What is going on? Hey, Miss Agnes, you—you feeling okay today?”
“Stop talking,” she snapped. “How long have I been here?”
“Uh… What?” You saw him put his hand up to cover…things from his vision.
“How long have I been living in this cesspool of a town?” She asked none to politely.
“You don’t remember?” He asked, baffled.
“Yet you remember and retain the same attitude as ‘Agnes’,” you scoffed.
“Catch me up,” she scowled, ignoring you.
“About three years,” he nodded.
“Three years?” She exclaimed. Her voice dropped to a whisper as she realised. “Wanda,”
“We try not to say her name,” he mumbled.
“Ugh!” She exclaimed. “Because you’re cowards, because you’re sheep. What have I been doing all this time?”
“Being bitchy to really nice people, for starters,” you rolled your eyes.
Herb chuckled but continued just as nervously. "Well, you’ve mostly been a good neighbor. A bit too casual with your boundaries…"
Triggered, she snapped, "Call me “nosy,” I’ll cut out your tongue."
"How polite," you grumbled.
"Yeah...you haven’t been yourself the past few days," he admitted. "Almost like you got bit by the true crime bug. Now that's normal for Y/n, obviously, but you? Nah,"
"So…So what? I’ve just been spouting nonsense and you’ve just been humoring me?" She scowled.
"I mean, folks been trying to help out, you know, stopping by and bringing you groceries and checking up on you," he explained, his eyes not meeting hers.
"Oh, I get it," Agatha chuckled sarcastically, her eyes on Dottie and her husband, who were trying to get their daughter back inside frantically. "Librarian. Chief of police," Her eyes landed on Norm, who jogged backwards upon meeting her gaze. "Oh! Jeweler,"
As she spoke, Herb tried covering her up with his jacket--a futile thing, really, since she threw it off her body instantly.
"This is where hope goes to die," she sneered.
"You know, um...besides the fact that you’re, um…" he gestured at her with his head. "You seem pretty lucid for a change. Aggressive, even. Powerful."
"Oh god, please don't feed into her ego," you begged, irritated.
"What did you say?" She asked softly, eyes drifting to him.
"I said, “Powerful,” but look, Agnes, if…"
"It’s Agatha,"
"Agnes' more annoying, bitchy counterpart," you interjected, earning a smack upside your head.
"Okay. Agatha. Yeah," he nodded, awkwardly. "Can you put on some clothes?" She groaned angrily and stalked off into the house, with you following in embarrassment. "‘Cause you… ‘Cause you’re naked..."
You stormed after her in anger, slamming the door shut behind you. "Mom, we need to talk--"
"No. No!" You heard her exclaim as you noticed how her hands were devoid of one very, very familiar thing. Her purple.
You shook your head. Inside, you were a mess of emotions. You were shocked, scared, angry, confused, and exhausted all in one. You hated this. Hated how she still didn't give you the time of day, how she constantly went after the same thing over and over again. Like always. You grabbed her wrist sharply.
"Mom stop!" You exclaimed, holding her back.
"Did she take yours, too?" She cut you off, her hand yanking away from your grip.
"No, I can, unfortunately, still see the dead, feel the dead, and control...hm...oh yeah, the dead," you rolled your eyes. "But that's not the point! The point is--and she's gone."
Agatha had gone back down to her basement, which, in Wanda's hex, was a whole witchy lair. Now it was just the laundry room. The pentagram was gone, your special little 'quiet corner' with barricade runes was gone, the comforting scent of incense and magic was overpowered by the smell of washing machine grease and Tide Pods.
You saw a bunny hop out from under the washing machine, and Agatha was quick to lift him up and cuddle him close. "I got mugged, mister. She took every little bit of power I had and left me with household appliances,"
Her gaze landed on you. "We gotta get back on top,"
You rolled your eyes. "So much for a normal suspension,"
From upstairs, you both heard a loud thudding noise, and immediately, you ran up and yanked open the coat closet door to see...a boy? With duct tape on his mouth and legs?
"MOM!" You exclaimed, horrified. "Come ON! Have some basic human sense!"
Nonchalantly she shrugged, "So that arrest was maybe more of a kidnapping,"
"You think, lady?!"
"Keep it civil, little miss," she warned, before pointing at the boy. "But if you’re real and not a figment of my imprisoned mind, then that means…"
The door burst open, splintering and completely broken off its hinges, making you duck and cover your head, grabbing Señor Scratchy, and holding him tight to keep him safe. You placed him under the hallways table, keeping him away from the broken glass and wood. Agatha got blown back by the force of the impact, falling in a heap on the floor.
“Shit. Mom!” Your exclaimed, about to help, but she put a hand out to stop you.
“Don’t!” She snapped, making your features darken, as you stopped.
You saw a figure clad in black, a familiar woman, and your heart leapt at the sight of her. She flew at your mother before she stood with her knife poised at the base of Agatha’s collarbone, the woman pinned with the force of it, where her pulse beat steadily against the skin.
“I’ve missed you,” Rio giggled diabolically.
“I hate you,” Agatha snarled.
“Just like you do everyone you love,” you scoffed, shrugging. “Hi, Mami,”
“Hey nena,” she replied, eyes fixed on your mother. “How long has it been, Agatha?” Rio asked, pushing harsher against her grip.
“Not sure,” she groaned, you could sense her seething.
“Since you acquired the Darkhold, you hid behind all that dark magic, but then you lost it, and now…” she chuckled darkly, the tip of her knife kissing the skin of her collarbone, making Agatha wince. “Touch. You’re vulnerable,”
She eased, “Only physically,”
In moments, she grabbed Rio’s head, slammed it into a wall, making you wince as the knife clattered to the side. You winced as Agatha gripped the blade against Rio’s blow, the blood in the xarpet smelling metallic and nauseating.
“Do you remember pain?” Rio gasped. “It kind of tickles, doesn’t it?”
Chuckling dryly, Agatha panted, “Coochie coochie coo,”
After a good minute of them struggling like cats, with Agatha pinning Rio down by the throat, you made a slight attempt to help.
You grabbed your mother by the shoulders and held them apart, angry.
“Will you two hopeless lesbians just cut it out?!” You asked, your palms pressed against each of their chests. “This is fucking infuriating!”
“Stay out of this, Y/n,” Agatha snarled, her eyes on Rio.
“It’s best for you, nena,” added Rio.
“Well how about we be a normal family and perhaps go for dinner instead of you trying to kill each other!”
“You can’t kill me,” your mom hissed at Rio. “You can’t kill me. It’s not allowed,”
“Maybe I can’t kill you,” Rio said, angrily, blowing her back into the cabinet. “But I can make you wish you were dead,”
Agatha groaned, sitting up. “Wait, wait, wait,” she gasped. “This isn’t what you want. Me without power,”
You shrugged at Rio, mumbling, “Maybe it’s better if she didn’t have any power, selfish bitch,”
Agatha laughed, glaring at you just a little. “This is undignified,” she looked at Rio. “Don’t you want me at my best?” She stood, you noticed her her voice droppin to that horrible, infuriating, manipulative whisper. “Admit it. You prefer me—“
“Horizontal?” Rio interrupted. After a pause, she added “In a grave?”
“Formidable,” Agatha corrected.
“So take my power,” she shrugged.
Your mother chuckled humourlessly, nodding at her. “That’s cute. But you know that would kill me. Just…let me get my purple back. And then come find me,”
“I am not the only one that wants to see you dead,” Rio scoffed. “Wants to see you burn. Or hang or drown.”
Disconcerted, Agatha tried to lighten the statement, saying, “There are no new options?”
“I could just sit back and watch,” Rio shrugged.
Slowly, like a cat prowling to its prey, she approached her, voice but a whisper. “Come on. You love it. The anticipation…”
“Okay, Agatha,” Rio conceded, looking down and shaking her head with a chuckle. “But I’ll be sure to tell them where to find you.”
“Who, specifically?” She and you asked in unison.
“Mmm! The worst of them. The Salem Seven,” Rio said. Noticing your panicked expression, she added, “Not you, nena. Just your mother,”
Turning back to agatha she shrugged. “I expect you’ll see them at sundown. After all these centuries, Agatha Harkness will finally meet her end. Ugh! It really warms the heart,”
“You don’t have a heart,” Agatha snapped.
Pulling her close all of a sudden, Rio spoke in a low voice, full of conviction. “Yes, I do. It’s black. And it beats for you,”
She lifted the hand from which blood was dripping and in one long, clean swipe of her tongue, healed it.
You made a face with disgust. “Mami, ew,” you muttered. “You’re so gay, my god,”
Rio laughed, shooting Agatha a look, squeezing your cheeks with one hand gently and quickly before she whispered, “I’ll see you sometime soon, nena.”
As she went to the doorway, she glanced at Agatha, shrugging, “Te veo,” before leaving.
You both stood there in silence for a good moment, before you asked awkwardly, “So…what do we do about the door?”
She looked at you, baffled, her chin held delicately between her thumb and forefinger in thought. “The door?”
“Yeah, she blew it off its hinges,”
“Do you see the state of my sitting room?”
You glanced around at the catastrophic sight. She had a point.
“Yeah, I’m grabbing myself some breakfast, it is far too early for me to deal with…this,” you shrugged, going to the kitchen. “You want anything?”
Agatha didn’t respond, clearly thinking about Rio’s appearance. With a frustrated groan, she was about to stomp away, when she heard some indistinct mumbling from her closet.
Yanking it open, with you behind her, cereal bowl in hand and munching on Lucky Charms, she sighed at the sight of the boy with his mouth and limbs taped up.
“Oh, right, you,”

[previous chapter] | [next chapter] | [series masterlist]
Frank raised his right fist to knock three times against an apartment door labeled 6F. The person who the apartment belonged to was still a mystery to you. Neither you or Frank had spoken a single word to each other the entire short drive over. Instead, you’d sat stiffly in the passenger seat, arms crossed tightly over your chest, glaring out the window.
A minute later, the sound of a lock twisting broke the tense silence, and the front door was opened. A tall man stood in the doorway, his dark brown eyes wandering over Frank from head to toe and back up again. He was somewhat obstructed from your view since Frank was standing right in front of you, but you saw the way his full lips pursed in lighthearted disapproval before he lightly smacked them.
“Aw, shit.”
“Good to see you too, Curt.”
“Wish I could say the same. You know, most friends do normal shit. Go fishin’ down in Florida, maybe golf or somethin’, but you, you’re always draggin’ me into some bullshit. So what kinda trouble you bringin’ me now, Frank?”
“Told ya I needed you to look after somethin’ while I was gone for a bit.”
The man wore a light gray long sleeved henley, and the top of three buttons was undone. The waffle knit fabric stretched tightly over his biceps when he crossed his arms over his chest, lifting one of his dark brows in question with a look of suspicion on his face.
“Yeah, you didn’t say what though.”
Frank finally stepped aside, and the man fully came into view before you. When his dark brown eyes landed on your figure, an expression of surprise softened his skepticism. His onyx brows lifted in a show of disbelief as he glanced between you and Frank, giving him a pointed look.
“She’s with you?”
“Yeah. Curt, this is Y/N. Y/N, this is Curtis.”
Looking up at Curtis, you did your best to give him a polite smile along with a faint nod of your head.
“It’s nice to meet you, Curtis. Frank’s told me nothing about you.”
“Well that makes two of us.”
Indents of puzzlement creased along his forehead and without another word, Curtis reached his right hand out to wave his palm back and forth in front of your face, which took you by surprise and made your brows knit in curiosity while you blinked a few times. Frank looked at Curtis inquisitively.
“The hell you doin’?”
“Just checkin’ to see if she was blind.”
“Why?”
Turning his head to look at Frank again, Curtis looked him up and down once more with an expression of dubiety.
“Couldn’t think of another logical explanation of what the hell she was doin’ wit’cho ugly ass.”
Blowing a puff of air past his lips, Frank shook his head and turned to glance around to his left. Meanwhile, you had to cover your mouth to stifle the laugh that Curtis conjured with his quick response. Shaking his head, Curtis reached out to take your bag from you, stepping aside and gesturing for you to come inside, all the while side-eying Frank.
“Could’ve at least carried her bag for her, damn.”
Frank looked genuinely offended by the implied accusation that he hadn’t even attempted to be a gentleman, and you had to bite the inside of your cheek to stop from smiling at the way he scrunched up his face in defense.
“She wouldn’t let me.”
“Mhm.”
Curtis’ apartment was modest and simple, not overly decked out in furniture and decor, but definitely more homely than Frank’s. It felt awkward standing in the middle of a stranger’s living room that you had just met, knowing that you were supposed to be staying here for a few days. That thought had something from Frank and Curtis’ exchange suddenly sticking out in your mind.
Frank had told Curtis he needed him to keep an eye on something, not someone.
Turning around to face them, your narrowed gaze landed on Frank and creases of irritation swiftly knit between your brows.
“You didn’t tell him that I was coming, did you?”
Both men’s heads snapped in your direction when you spoke. Curtis glanced between the two of you with a comical look on his features as he picked up on the fact that Frank seemed to be in trouble with you. It was evident how hard he was trying to suppress a smirk. Frank on the other hand turned to face you fully, and he returned your expression of irritation with his own annoyed, broody scowl.
“Didn’t wanna ask over the phone-”
“And you didn’t think to ask in person before you packed me up and dropped me off?”
Curtis had his arms folded over his chest, and he was fighting to hide his amusement behind his right fist. His broad shoulders were subtly bouncing, and the sound of his snickering caused Frank to snap his head in his direction with a deep frown. Clearing his throat, Curtis turned to look at you with an easy going smile and gave a loose and dismissive wave of his right hand.
“Look it uh, it ain’t a big deal, alright?”
“It is when he’s the only one here who seems to know what the fuck is going on.”
The tension between you and Frank was thick, almost visibly lingering in the air, and Curtis quickly picked up on it. He’d placed your bag on the floor by his feet, but in an effort to diffuse the situation, Curtis reached down to pick it up in his left hand and loosely gestured with his right towards a hall around the corner from you.
“Here, why don’t we get you set up, alright? I uh…needa talk to Frank right quick.”
Curtis regarded you with a sympathetic glint in his eye, and it had guilt filling your bloodstream like lead. Your presence here was an imposition, whether he would say that out loud or not, which you figured by his kind nature he wouldn’t. It wasn’t fair of you to stand in the middle of his living room and argue with Frank, disrupting the peace of his home and causing him to feel uncomfortable. Silently nodding your head in agreement, you gave Frank one last forlorn glance before you turned to follow Curtis.
In the midst of your disappointment, both in Frank and yourself, you noticed that Curtis seemed to walk with a slight limp. It wasn’t overly apparent, and you’d only observed it because your eyes were on the ground in front of you following the heels of his shoes, but it stoked your curiosity. Frank hadn’t told you anything about him, you hadn’t even known he existed until today, but he was clearly someone important if Frank was leaving you in his trusted care. Your mind began to wonder where that integrity stemmed from. When he placed your bag down on the edge of his bed, you quickly shook your head and spoke up.
“I’m not kicking you out of your own room.”
Curtis turned his head to look at you and studied you silently for a moment. His deep brown eyes flickered between the door of his bedroom and your own gaze. Taking a step in your direction, he reached out with his right hand and gave your shoulder a comforting light squeeze.
“We’ll talk about that later. Why don’t you just sit down for a minute, take a deep breath. Unclench your jaw and relax your shoulders.”
You hadn’t even been consciously aware of the fact that you were doing all of those things until Curtis pointed them out. Sucking in a deep breath, you let it out in a slow exhale through your lips, trying to release the frustration and stress in your body along with it. When you sat down on the edge of his bed, your shoulders slumped in exhaustion, and you folded your hands in front of you with your forearms resting on your thighs, staring blankly ahead at the wall.
“So, this kind of thing is normal with him?”
Slipping his hands into the pocket of his jeans, Curtis looked over at you while leaning back against the wall and granted a nod of his head.
“I’ve known Frank a long time. Kinda gotten used to him bein’ a pain in my ass.”
“And you put up with it?”
There seemed to be an unspoken understanding between the two of you at that moment. The way that Curtis looked at you told you that he knew what you were really asking him with your veiled question.
Should I continue to put up with it?
Letting out a deep exhale of his own, Curtis pursed his full lips and a contemplative look covered his features. After a moment, he returned your interrogative stare with an expression of empathy and lightly shrugged his broad shoulders.
“I’ve never known Frank to do somethin’ without a purpose. Whether it’s right or wrong, I can’t say. But, the intentions come from a good place. Most of the time.”
The way he spoke that last part caught your attention, and you looked up at him in intrigue. He had trailed off a bit, his dark brown eyes wandering towards the empty space next to your side. You wished you could read the thoughts currently passing behind his eyes. Curiosity creased along your forehead as you tilted your head to the side in question.
“Most of the time?”
Curtis’ eyes focused back in your direction and he held your gaze silently for a few seconds. You could see on his face that he knew he had said maybe just a little bit too much. He turned his head to glance towards the open bedroom door once more before returning your look of query. His lips faintly tugged into a reassuring smile when he nodded his head in your direction.
“Like I said, there’s always a purpose.”
While Frank and Curtis were conversating in the living room, you took a moment to look around the quaint space of Curtis’ bedroom. Eventually your eyes fell on your bag that sat on the mattress to your right, and all of a sudden it seemed to dawn on you that Frank had packed it for you. Unable to deny your curiosity, your fingers reached out to tug back the zipper, peering inside to see what clothing and necessities he’d chosen.
On one side of the bag, a pile of clothes were folded neatly, and on the other was your toiletry case. Thumbing through the pile of clothes, you felt a tightness in your chest seeing that Frank had chosen outfits that you would’ve picked for yourself. They were ones you wore regularly, and he’d even packed your favorite pajamas. Knowing that you liked to be overly prepared and have options in case you changed your mind, he’d made sure you had enough choices for a week, and he even managed to fit two other pairs of shoes in the bottom.
Frank had grabbed all of the essentials to pack in your toiletry case, everything that he knew you used regularly, and even a few things he must have just thought you might need. He hadn’t just randomly grabbed a bunch of things to shove in a bag and go. Frank had thoughtfully chosen every single item in this bag with you in mind. While you sat there with your bag open, staring at the contents inside, an unexpected wave of emotion built up along your waterline, and you hadn’t even noticed until you felt a trail of wetness cascading down your cheek.
A light knock on the bedroom door made you quickly wipe away the evidence of your emotional turmoil with the sleeve of your shirt, and when you turned your head, you saw Frank standing there in the doorway. He looked considerably calmer than he had twenty minutes ago, and seeing the remnants of sorrow shining in your eyes, his rough features softened into raw remorse. Glancing at your open bag sitting beside you, Frank looked down for a moment and cleared his throat.
“I uh…grabbed what I thought you would.”
Hesitantly lifting his head to meet your gaze, you saw that his warm brown eyes were full of unspoken apologies. Giving a faint nod of your head, you dropped your gaze down to your lap and spoke quietly.
“Yeah, thank you.”
Both of you had so much you wanted to say, but neither of you knew where to start, or what the right words were. The silence echoed loudly and the walls felt like they were tauntingly closing in around you. A sinking stone of intuition in the pit of your stomach had you prophesying the very real possibility that this would end with you left in bereavement, and that the romantic daydreams you had hand crafted in the back of your mind had been false fortune telling.
Frank took a few cautious steps towards you, and you could see his boots come into view in your peripheral as you kept your eyes downcast towards the floor.
“Sweetheart.”
God, the way he uttered that one word made your chest ache. There were a million different emotions packed into those two simple syllables, and you could hear the tender longing in his deep voice softly calling to you. Frank knelt down in front of you, his large hand reaching out to cup your face. He slipped his fingers into your hair right beside your ear, gently grasping the back of your neck and he tucked his thumb under your chin to lift your head slowly.
“Hey-”
Frank dipped his head to try and catch your eye. Swallowing thickly, you slowly lifted your line of sight to look at him, and the expression on his face broke your heart. His warm brown eyes were desperately pleading with you, darting between your lips and crestfallen gaze.
“-c’mon I don’t…I don’t wanna leave it like this.”
The warmth of his breath could be felt against your lips, and his eyes were frantically searching every inch of face for something…anything that could temporarily relieve this anguish until he returned with a permanent fix.
“Look if I could…if there was another way…”
Frank let out a deep sigh that trembled past his lips, and it was clear he was struggling to find the right words.
“Just…please. I’m gonna make this right, okay? I swear to you. I just…I need you to give me a little more time, alright? Just a little more. Can you give me that?”
It was hard to see Frank like this, the somber sheen to his eyes and the misery weighing heavily on his shoulders. He was asking for another strand of patience, but you didn’t know how much you had left, and it scared you to even think about what would happen when you ran out. It was unclear in your mind whether the love you had for Frank that was embedded deeply in the chambers of your heart could be enough to salvage the pieces he was leaving you with.
“Okay.”
Frank could hear the lack of conviction in your defeated tone, and it killed him. Deep down he knew he was asking too much of you without giving you any concrete reassurance in return, but he couldn’t see another path. All he could do was hope that your faith in him wouldn’t run out like grains of sand slipping through the narrow bridge of an hourglass, and that the consolation of your forgiveness could still be earned.
His soft lips parted, and there was an intense emotion in his eyes when he stared deeply into yours. It looked like he wanted to say something so badly, but he cut himself off before he could. Leaning in, he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead and let it linger for a moment before pulling away and retracting his hand from your face.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. You’ll be safe with Curt, alright?”
A pang of disappointment quickly spread through you. For a second you thought Frank might be the first one to speak those three words. If there was ever a time you needed to hear them, it was now. But then again, you didn’t know if you were ready to say them back.
Running your hand through the roots of your hair and pushing it out of your face, you sucked in your bottom lip and grazed it with your top teeth before letting it go and nodding.
“Yeah.”
Frank eyed you wearily for a moment before hesitantly rising to his full height. He didn’t want to leave things between the two of you so unfinished like this, but he didn’t have a choice. He didn’t know if he’d made things better or worse in attempting to leave on a smoother note. When he reached the doorframe, he paused and turned to look at you again, and it bothered him that you wouldn’t look at him.
“I’ll see ya soon, sweetheart.”
There was no verbal reply from you, just another nod of acknowledgement. Frank lingered there for a moment in the doorway, silently begging you with his eyes to look at him, but your gaze seemed to be permanently fixed on the floor. The image of you sitting there looking so dejected and disappointed burned into his memory, and he knew it would haunt him, even long after this was all over. He wouldn’t forget the moment he’d let you down so badly.
The only goodbye you got was the resonation of Frank’s heavy boots fading, getting fainter and fainter the further away from you he got. A few seconds later, the front door opened with a soft creak, and a murmur was exchanged before the sound of heavy wood sliding back into a worn frame was completed with the soft click of a lock.
The golden hour dripped through the thin plastic blinds, coating the entire room in a sundrenched glow, but the warmth couldn’t penetrate the endless and echoing loneliness that dug deep into your bones knowing that Frank was gone, again.

Price Headcanons ~SFW & NSFW~
masterlist ->Paring: Captain John Price x F!Reader ->Warning: fluff, romance, smut down below >:) ->A/N: MDNI! I've had some of these floating around my head and had to write them down.
SFW:
This man needs a vacation, he needs to sit on the beach and drink a little something with an umbrella vacation.
I imagine even if he went on vacation, he would be the "feel free to text me if anything comes up I'm just a flight away" kinda guy. Please someone make him relax.
He's a romantic guy for sure, will kiss you on the hand and bring you flowers without asking.
When you go out to eat he will open the car door, the restaurant door, and pull out the chair for you because the woman he loves will NOT be touching a door. He gives you a wink once he tucks your chair in.
When he's home, especially right after he gets back he loves nothing more than to sit side by side and read your books together, make him a good cup of tea and he's sending heart eyes your way.
His favorite way to sleep is with you right on top of him. Out on the job he sleeps with his gear on, so he's become accustomed to having a weight on his chest when he sleeps, he feels uneasy without it. But when you lay onto of him like that he's out like a light.
He gets nightmares frequently, if you're a light sleeper he apologizes for waking you up but you never complain and for that he cannot repay you. If you're a heavy sleeper and you don't wake up he'll calm his beating heart and find comfort in your scent and soft breaths. Sometimes he wants to talk about it sometimes he doesn't, it depends on the severity and if he wants to plague you with it. At times he just wants to lay with you in his arms, he's safe at home with you, his boys are safe at their homes, everything is okay.
He's built a steady routine over the years, part of that routine is waking up ten minutes before he's supposed to so he can admire you when you sleep and hold you close to his bare chest, he loves these mornings.
He trusts you with his life, and with that he'll let you trim up his beard, a barber botched it once and Gaz laughed at him, so he said you're the only other person allowed to do it now.
He definitely falls asleep when watching TV and when you try to change it he'll wake up and say he's watching it.
One time you washed his hat without telling him and he panicked like when you lose your wallet. You had to pre-soak his hat twice to get it semi-normal.
I imagine him as a good cook but a shit baker. He gets frustrated when he tried to follow a cake recipe for your birthday and can't find the recipe under the person's life story. He went to the store and bought one then wrote your name on it.
He loves it when he can show off how strong he is, sometimes you'll pretend you can't open a jar just so he can crack his knuckles and "show you how its done".
He's over the moon if you ask him to show you how to fish, even more elated if you offer it as a date idea.
He loves to sit at the counter and listen to you talk about your day. He's a sucker about your voice and could listen to you talk about literally anything.
He calls you on his way back to base and talks to you on the drive home, makes the drive go faster.
He starts ring shopping 2 months after you two started dating, he knew you were the one.
He almost threw up when he proposed, he was so fucking nervous but the night went perfectly.
Definitely carried you through the door of your shared place when you got married, he's old fashioned like that.
His dad jokes are out of this world awful, but you laugh at them even if it hurts, because you love him.
Loves to have the team over to watch sport matches, when you were house shopping he always referenced about having them over when the two of you would view the living room.
When the two of you are out he puts a hand on the small of you back to guide you through crowds.
NSFW:
His stamina is impressive, he's an older guy but he can go for rounds and those rounds are heavy and sweaty.
Alot of things you do turn him on, kiss him on the spot where his neck meets his head, touch his knee and move you hand slowly up, tell him how much you missed him, tell him he looks good in that shirt, wear that shirt, really anything you do turns the man on.
John Price loves to love you through and through this man is a giver.
He will kiss you from ankle all the way up, muttering about how good you looked today and how much he was thinking about getting you out of these clothes.
Not possessive but more protective. Your relationship is built on mutual respect for one another, although there is a trend between the times when you get a little more attention from other guys and when he absolutely fucks your brains out. He denies it the next morning.
He uses his voice to his advantage. He purrs in your ear hours before he undresses you, light light touches and honeyed words butter you up to the point you're begging for him to take your clothes off. "You need me this bad love? Desperate girl." He wears a devilish smile.
Certified pussy eating master and I stand by that. That man can go forever between your thighs, his eyes roll to the back of his head when he first licks you, you'll have to pry him away beard soaked with evidence of his skills.
Good with his hands too, he angles then just the right way to find your G-spot, all while saying the dirtiest things just so he can feel you clench around his fingers. "You like that, fuck look at you dripping down my hand."
He loves when you grip his arms when he drives himself into you, you leave nail marks and he gets off on it. That you're feeling so good from what he's doing to you that you have to hold on that tight.
Favorite positions would be missionary, cowgirl, or anything where he can look you in the eyes so he can see your reaction when he slides it in so agonizingly slow.
Loves it when you ride him, front facing so he can see you cum. He makes you wear his hat for sure. And when it dips too low in front of your eyes he'll stop all movement just to fix it. "There's my pretty girl." He grinds into you to start again.
You guys fucked in his car once and he loved it, couldn't do it again though. His back hurt too much the next day.
Guilty pleasure is hotel sex. The both of you get a nice big room at a fancy hotel, have sex in clean white sheets making a mess of the newly made bed, he fucks you in the bed, the shower, the desk, over the dresser, and against the wall, afterwards you two order all you can eat room service.
He loves getting blowjobs when he smokes, something about the combination of the two make his head dizzy in a wonderful way.
Heavy on safe-words and making sure you feel the best you can when you two have sex, always checking in on you but in the most seductive ways as to not lose the mood.
Price loves to praise you, before during and after he's telling you how good you're doing and how beautiful you look taking him so well.
Most of the time he asks you where he should cum, he just likes hearing you say it, it gets him off harder.
Aftercare!! John is big on it, he'll take you to the bathroom and you'll have a bath together or shower, he'll give you extra time when he leaves so he can change the bedding and put on a sweet movie.
If your muscles ache he'll take a body oil or lotion and gets those knots out with those expert hands, he prefers it when you're naked for these massage sessions, easier to get all your sore spots he says.
More than half the time this result in another session and neither of you are complaining.
---
peepaw for the win!!!

Could you make a proposal with Dehya, Yae Miko, Candence, Navia and Lisa entering the room with your S/O changing clothes? Like, like they wear clothes that don't show off their body and make it look weak, only for them to have a very muscular body.
(Genshin Impact) Dehya, Yae, Candace, Navia, and Lisa walking into their S/O changing clothes
I'm not muscular at all, but my arms are weirdly strong looking thanks to moving a lot of boxes. My clothes make me look like an absolute stick, though.
Dehya opened the door and saw S/O in the middle of removing their shirt.
(Dehya) "Oops. Sorry, didn't know you were in here."
If they were shy or startled, she would not hesitate to give them space and close the door behind her.
But if they didn't mind, she would at least take a moment to see what they looked like.
Their shirt did a good job concealing of how toned their body actually was. Truthfully, she thought they would have almost nothing on them.
(Dehya) "Jeez, how were you able to hide that from me the entire time?"
She certainly appreciates how strong S/O seemed. It wasn't a bad view either.
Yae opens the door pretty much without warning, and simply smiling as she saw S/O changing clothes.
She leans against the door and watches. Yae doesn't budge, regardless if they were shy or not.
(Yae) "My, there's quite nothing left to the imagination now. I will also say, you're better built than I had presumed you'd be."
Her smirk seems to grow at that comment, her eyes taking in the muscles they were hiding.
Now that she knew they were strong, she'd probably have S/O carry a lot of things for her.
There was no excuse, S/O was strong and that meant they could take the labor!
...Among other things.
Candace knew S/O was strong, you had to be if you wanted to survive long in the desert.
What she didn't expect underneath their shirt was for them to be nearly as strong as her.
Candace had accidentally walked into their room too fast as they were changing.
After admiring the view for a few seconds, she has a faint blush to her cheeks as she respectfully turns away.
Regardless of their personality, she doesn't wish to snoop on them, and closes the door just as quickly.
(Candace) "Apologies, I'll come back in when you're finished."
She definitely wants to know where they got their muscles from, since the clothes they wore really only displayed their arms and nothing else.
Navia almost yelps the moment she opens the door to the bathroom and saw that they were changing.
S/O was only changing their shirt, which was both a relief and slightly disappointing to Navia.
But then she realized that, dang, S/O was ripped.
The clothes they normally wore did indicate they were at all!
(Navia) "W-Wow...You look great! AHEM! L-Let me know when you're done!"
If her S/O was on the shyer side, she'd quickly blurt out an apology, while still staring at them for a few more seconds.
She shuts the door and hides her face with her hat.
It wasn't a sight that was going to leave her mind anytime soon.
Not that it was entirely a problem.
Lisa hums in approval of the sight of S/O changing clothes.
(Lisa) "Looking good as always, darling.~"
She is particularly amused if her S/O would get flustered by her coming in, but she has no strong reaction.
Other than eyeing them up and down with a smile.
Lisa wished that S/O had told her sooner that they were so strong. It would have made moving some books in the library far easier.
But hey, now she knew for future reference!
Plus, it'd be an excuse to watch them in action. But she could probably think of better ways to see them without their shirt on than just work.

Fem Mortal Reader x Yandere Hestia, but the reader isn't a pushover.
:)
yandere! Hestia x fem! mortal! Reader - ♡ general hcs
warnings -> none....it's hestia...actually, slight clinginess??
paring/s -> yandere! Hestia x mortal! fem! reader (gender of the reader isn't mentioned or relevant tbh)
a/n -> rising from my grave to finish this
————————————————————
-> meeting her as a mortal means that you're probably gonna meet her in your fireplace
-> the most likely scenario is that you had just faced one of the worst heartbreaks in your life— losing a family member, a regular breakup, whatever
-> Hestia, being who she is, would probably not be able to bear the sight of someone in pain, guiding the fire to warm you up, flames flickering up towards you as if in a comforting manner
-> her presence is a very comforting and homely feeling and when she concentrates on a particular hearth, her power increases tenfold
-> probably resulting in you dozing off in a cozy armchair, fast asleep like your world hadn't just come crashing down around you
-> she watches you sleep so peacefully (but like- in a non creepy way)
-> she keeps on at it for a while, watching you do your daily chores for a while, admiring you from a safe distance and slowly falling for you
-> I don't think Hestia would even bother trying to disguise herself as a regular human to you, she just pops up in your fireplace one day and shyly starts a conversation
-> Depending on your reaction, she'd either cool you down or happily continue your conversation like literally nothing ever happened
-> I'm not gonna go into details but she'd win you over pretty damn quickly and starts dating you as soon as possible
(now for some domestic fluff...cuz it's hestia)
-> I have this headcanon that because Hestia is the goddess of family, she'd know all the best picnic spots
-> like you cannot tell me that she wouldn't know the most gorgeous cliffside overlooking a sea view in the world and take you there as a date
-> she likes baking for you because she adores how your face lights up when she makes you those cookies you love so much
-> she already knows your allergies and taste in food so don't even bother telling her, she's already got the best recipes she has set in mind :)
-> she likes taking you on peaceful walks with her while she's disguised as a human
-> watching all the different people walk by with their dogs, significant others, etc, etc makes her very happy
-> she'll point out to you all the small, gorgeous details your eyes might've missed
->she wants to show you the beauty of the world you live in!
-> definitely takes you to visit her favourite places in greece
->dresses up like a local that the people know well by now and takes you to her favourite parts of her homeland <3
->wants you to try all the native food, 100%
->when it comes to the issue of her being an immortal goddess and you being a regular ol mortal with a short life span (compared to her anyway), she'll try to convince you to let her feed you nectar
->obviously, you say something along the lines of 'fuck no'
->she's devastated when you abandon her at the table in the restaurant she took you to, to run away
->keeps popping up in the hearth whenever you light your fire (only for you to extinguish the flames with water)
->she finally gets you to have a normal, healthy conversation with her when she catches you off guard while you're napping by the fireplace
->would probably end with a compromise (somehow) that she'd make your closest friends and family immortal with you so that you'd all be able to live together
->after that, your relationship is pretty much smooth sailing
->Hestia isn't a very possessive or jealous person and she usually communicates that she's uncomfortable when she is
->cuz, y'know...she's actually sane (unlike the rest of her siblings and nephews and nieces)
->adopts an animal with you, a hundred percent <3
->likes cuddling you in her hearth, because it's so warm and cozy that you always end up falling asleep on her chest
->and she likes that :)
->takes you up to Olympus because she isn't scared of someone else taking you away
->none of the gods would even try because who would want to make Hestia upset? (especially cause it's mostly out of fondness, rather than terror *cough cough* Athena *cough cough*)
->anyway, she's probably one of the best girlfriends in the world <3
->can't and doesn't marry you because of her vow, but gives you a promise ring and lets you give her one if you really wanted to <3
->mostly just overly clingy, staying by your side whenever she can and hearth-hopping to wherever you go— work, out with friends, etc
BONUS!
-> she leaves you with Aphrodite if she's busy, because Aphrodite thinks you're adorable and always spends her time with you helping her doves make you all pretty for Hestia, Cinderella's fairy godmother style :)

You could barely breathe and the sounds that kept fighting to come out of your mouth over and over made it even harder for you to draw in some much needed air.
You could only lay limp on your stomach while Natasha had her weight on her hands on either side of your waist, getting enough leverage to thrust deep and hard into you and make your eyes roll back as she graced your ears with her breathless swears. She was incredibly close and, after a few more harsher thrusts that you were sure had to have made you slide up the bed at least a bit, she reached her peak with loud groans as she intently filled your pussy with all of her cum. Finally getting the chance, you tried your best to get your breathing back to normal while she stayed still inside of you and tried to do the same. You looked even more beautiful to Natasha as you lay under her. You were always ready to take anything from her, and your heavenly afterglow along with the way your pussy clenched around her while still coming down from your own peak, could've easily gotten her going once again. Sensing your tiredness, though, she immediately stopped her impure, spiraling thoughts to carefully pull out of you as gently as she could while lightly caressing the small of your back at the small hiss you tried to hide, before leaning down to land a quick peck on your bare back.
“You did so good for me”
You could only tiredly hum at the murmured praise as the older woman moved off of you to clean herself up, retrieve something to do the same to you and get a glass of fresh water. You were fighting to keep your eyes open, knowing that you could've easily fallen asleep as soon as you blocked the light coming from the large window, but you lost your battle once she came back to take care of you. You were starting to drift off as soon as her soft hand touched your shoulder to tell you she was back, but still made out her quiet chuckle once she finished her task and settled back in her spot on the bed. Feeling her gaze on you, you opened your eyes to be greeted by her lying form next to you, amusingly looking at you as you still hadn't moved an inch.
“Shut up”
Your grumbled words as you tried to look at her through only one eye seemed to be a way too entertaining show for Natasha as she fought to hide a smirk threatening to come out.
“I didn't say anything”
She was full on smiling now as you rubbed your eyes to get a better view of her.
“You don't need to”
Your sluggish movements as you did your best to find a comfortable position while turning to your side to face her would've made you almost embarrassed with any other customer, but you both knew deep down that Natasha simply wasn't any other customer. You both felt so at ease with each other and when your professionalism slipped away to leave space for genuineness, you gave her the courage for the same to happen to her and the constant control she always had even over her own self would leave some space for a more relaxed version of her you couldn't help but appreciate more and more. You admittedly felt very lucky to be able to witness the real person behind the big title and even though she was still clearly not ready to disclose too personal information about herself yet, you appreciated the effort she had put into sharing small, apparently meaningless, bits of her with you. You cherished every single word, every action, every joke, every glance and, unbeknownst to you, Natasha only felt her heart clenching more the less you asked her about herself. She would've poured her heart out to you, if only to make you happy and to satisfy your curiosity, but she knew that such a thing just wasn't possible. And seeing your clear desire to know anything you could about her, yet your restraint to do so, warmed her heart at the prospect of someone finally understanding her for once and letting her go at her own pace.
The happiness that always came from such beautiful thoughts that, by then, plagued her mind, though, was always destined to get shattered. Because she knew, deep down, that you were just doing your job after all. Yes, you were getting to know her and you wanted to do so, but you weren't actively looking to start a relationship or anything so crazy. You were just a girl being way too nice with a woman like her. Your interest couldn't possibly be as deep as hers was becoming. She just had to keep shaking the strange fluttering in her stomach away every time you looked at her like you were doing now, but your pretty eyes and your even prettier face made it impossible for her hand to stay in its place and before she knew it she was caressing your warm cheek before leaning in to leave a small peck on your lips and bashing in the incredible feeling of your touch on her.
She couldn't believe she was once again feeling disappointment, yet this time around it pierced her heart just so much harder. This time it wasn't someone else hopefully trying to get through the thick wall she had created against the outside and giving up before succeeding. This time she was the one who couldn't get to the person she seeked because such person simply didn't want her in the same way. She hated how vulnerable she felt, yet, for once, such a feeling, instead of the anger she was used to experiencing, got even more curiosity out of her. If nothing serious could happen it didn't mean that she couldn't indulge herself into knowing the most about you she could.
Noticing the goosebumps on your arms you tried not to bring any attention to, she silently got up from the bed, not bothering to cover up her godly body, to get some clothes for the both of you. As you lay alone on your side and admired the cloudy sky, free of all sun rays, the sight of the sea moving back and forth outside slightly started lulling you further into relaxation, also thanks to the oxytocin still running high through you. You didn't even hear her steps as she approached the bed once again and the warm light she turned on slightly startled you, pulling you out of your brief trance and getting your attention back to her. She was standing at the foot of the bed with her gray hair up in a messy bun and wearing only a pair of black boxers and a wrinkly band t-shirt, a kind of look you'd never seen on her. She looked pretty, like one of the truest versions of herself there was and one that made you want to hug her as hard as you could.
She was holding a pair of underwear you recognised as yours, that she probably found in your luggage, and a beige, slightly damaged, cashmere sweater you knew for sure was hers. You had seen it so many times in her house, always somewhere in case she needed it, if she wasn't wearing it already. You didn't know why, but the thought of something so simple such as Natasha having a favorite sweater made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, especially knowing that she was offering it to you now.
As you thanked her for the clothes and put them on, not even bothering to get out of bed to do so, she gathered the duvet from the floor to lay it over the bed once you sat back, letting it cover you and immediately warming you up a bit. You only wanted to admire her long legs and the snippet of her stomach as her t-shirt rode up while she got into bed, but the smell coming from the fabric on your body almost got you back into the post sex trance you just exited. The sweater sat soft like a cloud on your skin and the sleeves, a little too long for you, offered you the opportunity to ball their remaining fabric around your fists, warming up your hands and almost forcing you to move them closer to your face to fully breathe in the scent that intoxicated you. It didn't just smell like her perfume, it smelled like her, like her skin, like her hair, like Natasha.
You could've fallen asleep right then and there, with the soft sound of her even breathing and her smell clouding your mind, but you opened your eyes once her fingers gently moved a strand of hair away from your face and tenderly caressed your cheekbone once again. The second your gaze met hers, the vast ocean outside of the yacht completely disappeared, leaving you alone to drown in the greenish, addicting sea that were her eyes, instead. Gosh, how gladly you would’ve died lost in their depth.
“Can I ask you…can I ask you something about yourself?”
Her murmured question, spoken so quietly and even unsurely, pulled your mind off the beautiful endlessness of her eyes.
“Sure…I'm not that interesting, though, compared to someone like you.”
“You’re very interesting to me.”
Her small voice as she muttered the words warmed your heart like never before and almost made you tear up at the genuine interest she seemed to have over you. It was a bit hard for you to open up, certainly not as much as it was for her, but you did your best not to hold back when you could, hoping to make her trust you enough to let her guard down if she wanted to. And so, with a small nod from you, she moved to lie on her side, holding her head up on her hand, while you wiggled closer to her until you found a comfortable position to look up at her from your spot as you lay down next to her.
“What do you wanna know?”
“Everything you wanna tell me.”
You never disclosed personal information to your customers, after all it's not like they really wanted to know anything about you. Whenever they asked you something it was always out of courtesy, never of true interest, so you would just find a polite way to discreetly deviate the conversation to something they actually had interest in. But seeing the little smile on her face as she sweetly waited for your response with so much interest in her eyes, warmed your heart like never before and made you feel as though you could've never stopped yourself from telling her whatever the hell she wanted.
“Sorry, I’m usually not very good at opening up”
You tried to justify your initial silence as you thought about something to start the conversation with, your mind overcrowded by a turmoil of emotions.
“It’s fine, it doesn’t seem like it, but I like listening to people I care about. Of course you don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to, though.”
The sudden warmth in your cheeks at the mention of possibly being as lucky as being someone Natasha cared about immediately lost its importance, as you tentatively looked up at her. The disappointment you were afraid to meet wasn't anywhere on her face, though, as it was only filled with what you could only describe as love and care. She was at ease, she was talking and maybe she was even more than at ease. She trusted you. You couldn't ruin such an achievement and she needed to know that you noticed and you appreciated it.
“No no, I want to, really! I want to, Natasha”
You held her soft hand in yours as you intently looked at her in the eye as a way to reassure her of your willingness and, once you tried to let go, feeling slightly ashamed of your initial eagerness with your action, you were glad to feel her hold tighten on your hand, signaling she was more than fine with the contact.
“When we got here this morning you said the smell of the ocean reminded you of your childhood, why?”
You still seemed uncertain for a moment, but her comforting, warm hand in yours and her patient silence gave you the courage you needed to start talking to her. It surprised you how at ease you felt as soon as the first word left your mouth and after that, it was as if the floodgates had been opened.
"You know, there are studies that show how the faintest of smells or scents, in a mere millisecond can trigger whole memories that you never even knew you had or that you haven't thought about in years. That always happens to me with what I call the salty sea, this warm, dry, saline smell that always makes me feel so many things. It's bittersweet.
You know, when I was a kid I'd always spend the summer with my grandparents at the seaside. My parents couldn't take time off work so I'd spend those months away from home, only the three of us. I used to love that, I was always looking forward to it: we always stayed at a very beautiful campsite, in our trailer and it was so fun, to stay in our cozy little house during those three months and have more adventures every single day. I'd go to the pool, ride my bike, play at the park, paint at the kid's club, swim in the ocean, make sand castles. And every year I'd make new friends from all over the world. Sometimes I'd never see them ever again, which was sad, but I knew that I'd meet new ones and make the pain in my heart go away.
The thing that I liked the most about those summers, though, was how sweet my mom used to be to me. We wouldn't see each other all day every day, so there wasn't the risk of me pissing her off, doing the wrong thing, saying the wrong thing, forgetting to do something, making her forget to do something. We wouldn't see each other all day every day, so her daily evening calls were only filled with love and affection from her. Every day she'd call and she'd ask me what I had done and how the new kids I met were. She'd tell me she missed me so freaking much and that she couldn't wait for me to be back home in her arms. I'd cry almost every night, because every night I'd realize just how much I missed her and that I would've left and even walked all the way back home if she missed me too much. I hated how I could hear the strain in her voice from the whole day spent at work and the pain from being away from me. She was used to not spending a lot of time together, she had to go back to work very soon after I was born and always worked very long hours, but of course it was different in those summer months.
When I got older I realized that being away from one another was actually much better than we thought: after being apart for a while, the need to be together and the way she missed me would make the side of her that wasn't always happy with life go away, at least for a little bit. She didn't get the chance of getting angry with me or me triggering a mental breakdown and her telling me that she just needed to leave dad and I and get a new life or end it all. It's funny, I never realized how fucked up it is to say something like that to a 6 years old until very little ago.
Anyway, during those summers the only thing my mom did was love me, actually, not love me, she liked me, I wasn't flawed and always doing something wrong, I was her daughter and she liked me and she loved me. And then I understood, I need to stay away from her for a little while, so that she can love me for a little bit.
So yeah, it's bittersweet, the salty sea."
You couldn’t process what just happened, but what took over your mind as soon as you finished talking wasn’t the shock from being able to disclose such information to someone who wasn’t family or your therapist, but the fear of having ruined for good whatever small traces of a connection you had with Natasha thanks to your uncontrolled rambling. She said “everything”, but what if it was too deep? She said “everything”, but what if she wasn't ready to tell you something like that about herself and you made her feel forced to do so? She said “everything”, but what if you had built her wall back up with your own hands?
Sensing the panic you were almost perfectly hiding, she gently pulled you against her chest to hold you in her arms and kiss the top of your head before the “sorry” you had ready for her could leave your lips. Pulling back, she finally admired your beautiful face once again, feeling a bit more reassured at the slightly lessened, yet still present, traces of tension on your features. You looked small, young, younger than you were, with almost imperceptible traces of childhood you still seemed to unknowingly hold onto behind your eyes. You looked young because you were young and for the first time with her you didn't try to hide yourself behind a closely crafted composed facade that sometimes didn't fully fit you.
“And how is it now? If I can ask.”
"We don't really see each other anymore, except for the holidays sometimes, but we're not on bad terms at all. We always text and talk through the phone. It's just that her calls now feel like those old summer ones, always so sweet"
She didn’t respond to you, but she didn’t need to say anything, you understood how hard it could be for someone like her to express herself with her words. Her eyes and the warmth of her arm, still holding you in a loose hug, easily made you understand anything she would’ve wanted to express to you.
You tried your best to be as open as you could, but you knew you needed to take your mind off of certain things before your mood would’ve been ruined for the whole weekend and you still wanted to try to get to know at least something more about Natasha. You had to try, at least.
“Can I ask you why you like this sweater so much?”
You didn’t know where that question came out of, maybe the thought had been bugging you for way too long and your mind pulled a trick on you. Great, now she must’ve really thought you were crazy for good.
“I’m sorry, it must sound dumb”
You tried to brush it off with a small, pathetic laugh as you lowered your head to hide from her out of embarrassment, internally facepalming at your impulsiveness, but her hand on your arm, softly rubbing her thumb over it gave you the courage to look back up at her.
“No, not at all!”
The slight worry in her eyes, at first caused by the sight of your discomfort from your own question, soon turned into the usual worry she felt at the prospect of sharing certain aspects of her life with someone else. But the more she looked at you, the more the deep, gnawing feeling slowly got replaced by the mere melancholy of what the answer to your question consisted of. She knew it would’ve been hard but for once she wanted to do it, for once she wanted to try to open herself for someone she knew would’ve been willing to accept what came with her. And so she took the leap of faith.
“I know I have a poor reputation in terms of marriages, everyone apparently knows about it. I also know it was my fault for not making it work out every time, but if I have to be honest I never felt too…bad about myself for it. I mean, I know I’m not perfect and I have too many things to think about to try to be someone I’m not for the sake of a wife. I think the only oth-…time I did was with my first wife.
I got to know Maria when I was in college and as soon as I graduated we got married, got a house and I started working a shitty office job. We struggled for a bit, I wasn’t making a lot of money and she was working as a waitress, but I did anything I could to make our lives better and finally I got a pretty good promotion. That sweater was one of the first things I bought for myself and, I know it sounds stupid, but every time I looked at it, it reminded me that I had power over my life and we could finally have a decent life, I could give her a decent life. I was so happy, not only because I knew I could’ve done more for her, but I was also proud of myself, I mean, I liked my job.
I only realized just how much time I was spending away from home, away from her, when she told me she wanted to have a baby. We had more than enough money for it but I knew that my focus wasn’t at home back then. At first I tried to make any excuses I could, but eventually I just gave in. I think she noticed that I was doing it more for her than for me, but, if she did, she didn't mention it. We tried for a bit and at first it didn't work, but eventually she got pregnant. And she was so happy after all those months, she was over the moon. Of course I was happy we were expecting, but I could still feel my focus being somewhere else…and then she lost the baby and I was so stupid I barely even said I was sorry. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to help her…
We tried to go on for a bit and I knew I couldn't help her out emotionally, so I did what I know how to do best. I worked more and I bought her more stuff and I brought her on more trips but it was all for nothing and that sweater now reminded me that I couldn't be what she needed, that I wasn't perfect.
I cared, after she left me, then I didn't and now I know I just can't be perfect.”
You could still see some small hints of fake confidence she was so used to displaying, but the insecurity and sadness still drenched her words as she avoided your gaze at all costs. You could see her trying to get some last words out and her slightly shaky breathing almost got you worried for her.
“You know, I don't give a shit about what people think of me…but…you make me wanna be perfect”
Her brows were knitted as she tentatively whispered her words, almost as if she couldn’t understand such a concept. She didn't do what she was so used to be doing, what she had done with all of her wives. She didn't do her best just as a way to avoid you getting mad, she did it because she felt you deserved to always be with her best self, nothing less.
Everything was different with you, everything felt different…

On today‘s episode of „moments in the show that confuse me“, s5ep19 has a piece of dialogue that goes something like this
Marinette: (about how Gabe doesn’t approve of her) He thinks I‘m one of those fans who follows you around everywhere, showers you with gifts and knows all your (Adrien‘s) middle name days
Kagami: Isn‘t that what you used to do Marinette?
Marinette: Yeah but I did it out of love
This scene is so odd because it feels weirdly self-aware but at the same time it really isn‘t? To me it seems like the writers sort of admit that Marinette‘s crush was written like a celebrity crush, but then this doesn‘t go anywhere? It‘s basically just „it‘s the same as a celeb crush but it isn‘t actually🤪“
Like what kind of writing is this? I know I‘m again beimg nitpicky but hey I love hearing your thoughts on the show so do you have thoughgs on this?
I'm honored that you enjoy my rambled! And, yeah, I have a few thoughts on this one. To begin, here's the full quote for proper context:
Marinette: Oh, hey Kagami! How are you? Kagami: Hello, Marinette. I'm fine, thank you. Adrien: I'm sorry, Marinette, it's my fault. I just couldn't talk to my father. Marinette: No, don't apologize! It makes sense that you didn't make it work because that's you! I mean, not you, you but you, as in, not me. Your dad doesn't have a problem with you anymore, he's even become super cool, making you pancakes, giving you all the freedom you need. He's come such a long way and that's amazing. But he does have a problem with me. He feels worried and I would be too if I were him. He thinks I'm one of those fans who follows you everywhere, showers you with hand-knitted gifts and knows every single one of your middle name days. Kagami: Isn't that what you used to do, Marinette? Marinette: Yes... except no! I mean, yes, but I was doing it out of love and, besides, I've changed a lot. Kagami: You are correct. Marinette: Really? You think I've changed a lot? Kagami: No. Well, not that much. But you're right to want to talk to Adrien's father.
This is not a terrible piece of writing. There are pieces of media where this would be genuinely funny. I've previously talked about the fact that Marinette's crush on Adrien is written like a celebrity crush and not a crush on a real person or even a proper stalker obsession. In that post, I also discussed media that features a fan getting to date their celebrity idol:
Whenever stories do the thing where someone meets their celebrity crush and actually gets to know them, there's normally a noticeable shift in their behavior as the character mentally goes, "Oh shit, you're real now." They lose the freedom that came with this being a mere fantasy.
That is the type of story where this dialogue would be funny. A story where Marinette started out as a fan or former fan with an idealized view of Adrien, but ended up viewing him as a real person by the time they started dating. A story where her view of Adrien shifts, but the things she does to show affection don't because it's not exactly weird to want to know everything about your significant other or to want to shower them with gifts. The only concerning thing on the list Marinette gives is "following him everywhere", but she doesn't actually do that in the show, so we're going to ignore that one and focus on the actual problem here.
The problem is that Miraculous never gave Marinette a reality check. There is no point where dream Adrien vanishes to be replaced by real Adrien. The Adrien that she starts dating in season five appears to be everything that she's ever dreamed he would be. He is #boyfriendgoals where he only exists to make her happy. He never shows off his more annoying behavior (and let's be real, Chat Noir can be pretty annoying at times) or spouts any bad puns that make her roll her eyes in a mixture of annoyance and amusement. He is perfection and it's terrible. This is not how you write a solid romance. There's no learning about each others flaws or even meaningful personal growth for Marinette.
We spent four seasons watching her struggle to ask Adrien out only for the resolution to be that he asks her instead. She never has to overcome that personal hurdle. After that, her biggest struggle is being brave enough to tell her boyfriend that she loves him even though he has showered her with love and affection, proving that there is literally zero risk involved here. It's a deeply unbalanced relationship that feels totally unfair to Adrien.
To be fair, there are stories where the Marinette-can't-say-nice-things-to-Adrien plot point could work. However, they're stories where a lot of focus is given to Marinette's trauma and her journey to overcome it. Miraculous didn't do that. Marinette's trauma and Adrien's response to it are handled horribly by every metric because of course they are. This is a formula show that can't handle a plot like this with delicacy and grace.
There's also the issue that, for this plot to work, the romance needs to be way more balanced. We need to be shown why Marinette is an amazing partner for Adrien who just has an area where she's struggling. We need to want them to get past this trial and be together. As-is, it's impossible to support this relationship because there's no substance to it. They're barely even friends before they get together. I have no idea why I should want Adrien to struggle through helping Marinette or why I should want Marinette to work through her issues with Adrien. There are other fish in the sea! Now that the identities are out, she can go back to Luka who she had no issues with!
This all feels very badly written YA or New Adult drama and there's a reason that I don't read those! I don't enjoy wildly unhealthy couples whose main draw is their endless drama and baffling sexual tension. I want couples who I love but, at this point, I can't even summon mild enjoyment for the canon love square.

"When I'm losing my control, the city spins around. You're the only one who knows to slow it down."
| ——————————— ⸆⸉ ———————————|
You were staring out the window of the car, watching the buildings go by in a blur of time. Supposedly, you were going to stay at the park earlier today, but because it was so hot and humid outside, you had to cancel any plans of a sweet picnic date.
As the drive goes on, the car reflects through windows of botique shops and restaurants, showing it from the view of anyone outside.
In your mind, unprecedented feelings were swirling without a care. It was different from anything normal, but still as blank as your whole week has felt. It confused you. Your music was playing in your headphones as you try to distract yourself from the poking thorns going through your body, frustration threatening to break the walls of resistance.
The sun was striking through the clouds, blinding anyone who'd dare to look up. You were sure fate was laughing in your face by making the overwhelming feeling worse.
All you wanted to do was go back home. That was it. To be back in your bedroom, curled up, stowed away, casted away. Anything.
The more that time went by, Taylor was starting to notice the quietness that overlayed the drive. There was music playing on low volume by the speakers, and you were usually a quiet person, but the way you had your headphones on made her concerns grow.
She could see how glued your eyes were to the window. You didn't even move or sing to one of her songs that had come up in the car, which was all the more worrying. You were her biggest fan, but you most probably had the entire world blocked out by now.
"Baby? You okay there?" she calls softly over the music, turning it down until it was barely audible. You heard her, but you didn't respond or turn to look.
Her eyes flicker over to you for a moment, but she needed to focus on her driving. You kept your eyes on the window, starting to wish she won't even try to speak to you again just so you didn't have to try to explain.
But eventually, the car comes to a gentle stop at a red light, and she turns her head to look at you. She tries again, even softer this time. "...Sweetheart?"
Her teeth sank into her lip. She thought, maybe you had your music on too loud; because you had a tendecy to do that whenever you had trouble with your mind.
She runs through it in her mind for a moment, hesitating to intrude, but soon she reaches out, going to give two gentle taps on your shoulder. You felt it, but you leaned away, tensing as you keep your eyes on the window.
Without missing a second, her eyebrows furrow, now confirming that you heard her, but you were ignoring her. The situation was growing entirely alarming.
Her mind reels, but she leans back into her original position, her eyes focusing on the roads. Here and there, she'll check on you, trying to make sure you were alright— at least physically.
By the time she was driving along the familiar roads of your neighbourhood, where you lived together in one house, she thought to decide at least one more time.
She took in a breath to only sigh it out quickly. "We're almost home, baby..." she murmurs softly, trying to find chance for the smallest movement.
Your shoulders lowered...just a little, but it was more you slumping into the seat than relaxing. Right after, a grumble mixed in with a whine came as a response. Her eyes flickered to you, just for a moment.
"You look lost today, sweetheart..." she says in a mere whisper. The little shift in your leg had spoken thousands of words more than the quietness thats been passing.
Her teeth bit her lip, deeper this time. "Is there anything you want me to do? Like...a hug? A kiss? Or...we can stop by your favorite bakery..." she murmurs softly. Her eyes travel the area, recognizing the little delicious bakery right around the corner.
You bit your lip, your shoulders tensing as you kept your eyes firmly on the window. There was an odd feeling to let her sentence pass again, but the silence hung too uncomfortably in the air. The fact that you even thought to ignore her was tormenting.
What even was the word to it?...Tired. You were just tired. But it wasn't that kind of tiredness, or even the physical— it was just because your emotions felt like they were on the brink of cracking out and your heart and mind was dazed trying to fight it.
"I don't...need anything...just send me home." you mumbled with a slight edge, feeling the spite in your chest rise all the more. You were growing to only hate yourself if anything, instead of her.
The arrangement of words still bit her in her heart. 'Send you home,' as if she was only dropping you off somewhere instead of going home with you.
"Is there something you're mad at, baby?" she questions softly, but the words she spilled weren't meant to come out so...direct. She nearly wronged herself of her own suddenness.
Your mind stuck on her sentence. You could tell she was anxious just by the way her finger was tapping on the steering wheel. Of course you weren't mad. Well, you were, but not at her.
"No, stop, its nothing...I'm fine." You try to sound assuring, but you were sure your tone sounded too ignorant. Ironically, the both of you were worrying over your tones.
Taylor stays quiet for a moment. "...Are you sure?" She sounded softer. All you could do was shrink into your seat. You wanted to curl your legs up only to remember you were wearing your shoes.
"Yeah, just..." you slowly sighed in a near huff, crossing your arms, looking further back away to the view outside.
You knew it was what some considered to be 'wrong,' acting this way. But you felt overwhelmed. Too much going on to explain, even if it looks like nothing on the outside.
The sun was lowering further on the horizon, and she was soon nearing your shared home. After a moment, she slowly turns the car into the driveway, parking gently.
When you felt the car fully stop, you shifted your position up a little more. She gathered her things, glancing to you, but only to see you unbuckle your seatbelt and grab your phone, opening the car door.
Taylor swallowed down her fears. For a moment, all she had was the silence. All she's ever had was exactly that throughout the drive, but now it was even worse.
Soon, she follows after you, turning off the engine to get out. And of course, she held the keys to the house, so you were waiting at the porch for her, looking down and nibbling at your lip.
As she walks, she fishes the keys out from her pocket, finding the one for the front door.
She didn't want to start anything outside, so she steps on the porch beside you and unlocked the door first, twisting the key to then gently push it open.
Before she could even fully open it, you weaved yourself in from the gap between her and the door. She felt your shoulders brush, but she takes in a breath to calm herself, and slid the key out so she could step in. The door closes behind her.
Her eyes flicker to you in concern. "Baby," she started, watching you get your shoes off. But right after you took your socks off, you went to turn around. She hadn't seen you look at her even once in the past few minutes.
"Hey." She reaches her hand out, gently going to stop you from taking any more steps with her fingers embracing your wrist. You paused, freezing at the warmth.
"We need to talk." Her voice was soft. Softer than the music that was playing in your ears, and oddly she didn't sound mad at all.
A lump was in your throat. "I told you, I'm fine, Taylor." You nearly turned to look over your shoulder. But you looked down instead. Taylor took one step forward, wanting to be closer to you, but not pushing your space.
"It doesn't seem like it ever since we got in the car," she whispers, her hand on your wrist slipping down to your fingers, intertwining them.
She looks into your expression, tilting her head to try and see your face fully. She could see a glistening look in your eyes, and the slightest hint of red in your nose.
"Please." she breathed out. The silence was deafening, and cut the both of you to the core. Your mind was too scattered to speak, and you were trying your hardest to not break right then and there.
But you gently slip your hand out from hers, and she watches as you walked away, your path making its way to the bedroom.
There was a will for her to say something, to call you back, but there was a sign that you needed some kind of space alone after all that, and especially after you spent the time in the car, a place you disliked sitting in.
Even if she wanted to desperately know what the matter was, she didn't want to force you, or overwhelm you up to a certain tipping point.
Deciding to let it go, she sighs softly and goes to the couch. She hadn't even taken her shoes off until now, leaning down to slip them off her feet. It gave her relief as it felt suffocating earlier, but her heart wasn't spared any relief.
When she sat down, she felt a brush of fur against her skin. She nearly jumped, her head instantly looking to what met her arm. It was Meredith, looking at her curiously. She hadn't even noticed her there. Thankfully, she hadn't sat on her cat.
She breathes out the exhaustion in her lungs and leans back against the couch. Her hands cover her face, trying to make sense of it all. Then, those hands run over her cheeks and eyes, right before she let them fall carelessly onto the couch.
After a second, she looks to Meredith. She was laying there with her green eyes and cute scottish fold ears. Taylor's lips pursed, and she reaches out, giving Meredith a gentle scratch atop her head. Her fur was so soft.
She decides to distract herself, leaning back and resting her eyes closed. But it was too quiet, even as her cat purred beside her. Of course she was kept company, but the company wasn't you.
A sigh escapes her mouth and she opens her eyes again, blinking away the fuzziness. Somehow, the blonde manages to grab out her phone. It unlocked as soon as it saw her face, and she looked through her photos of today, seeing one of you in the car earlier today, but you were laughing, looking at a bracelet she had made. At least, until the disappointment of your cancelled picnic.
Was that it? Did she disappoint you too much? Was she having a relationship fallout? Of course not. You loved her with all your soul, and when you needed to, you took your time comforting every inch of her heart as she did for you. Every smile shared was of pure sweetness. It wouldn't make sense for you to simply part from her, even if the fear was deep in her veins.
But then it clicked to her.
The line of connection rose up from when you were numb and dozing off all you could few days ago. You did seem like you were getting better, and she gave comfort every time a bad thought came to you, but it wasn't until now your emotions were coming in again. She worried, even if it should be good, the concerning part is you were snappy and pushing yourself away from her.
But then— this morning too, you had forgotten to bring your bag that usually goes over your chest, which always gave you feeling a sense of ease and safety with the weight of it. Knowing how much your body could feel too light without it, she offered you hers, but you waved her off, thinking it was silly.
When you walked in the park together, your hands were in your pockets, fiddling slightly. She hated the amount of heat the sun had, but you hated it even further. You were talking to each other fine, at least until you were walking back to the car. You got quieter, mindlessly looking down the path, seeming almost bored at everything, or trying to distract yourself from the hot temperature.
Whats even more worse was you woke up earlier than she had. It was understandable that you could have possibly felt overwhelmed— because as much as you loved cuddling, you hated how longer your day would feel, and sleep certainly wasnt an option because you had fully woken up by then.
She lets out a gentle breath, knowing she needed to get to you. There was no telling what could rise up, but all she wanted was to keep you safe. Keep you in comfort.
|——————————— ⸆⸉ ———————————|
The room was quiet. It was raining, and it's been raining a lot as of lately.
The ceiling fan was humming overhead like usual. The air was so cold, your leg had to seek warmth under the folded covers.
But most of all, the room was dark. You couldn't get yourself to turn on the fairy lights hanging over the walls, even as the skies were gray, and the sun was starting to set, which only dimmed the daylight that spread in the room more. All you wanted was to sulk.
You hated it. Hated how much your mind was stirring up every bad thought you could ever have. Like you were blaming yourself for everything that ever happened, but you were also so extremely angry at everything else. It was a duel of two.
What exactly was that 'everything else' was? Well, really, the only thing you could focus on was the crazy temperature change that bugged your mind, going from the sunny, sweaty weather, then straight to what should be a perfect, cozy rain, but the cold was just too cold. There was no in between. You were sure the world might be ending at this point.
The interactions with Taylor kept reeling in your mind. It was like pages of a book flipping over and over, but it had the same memory showing. It was tiring, it was consuming you enough to send you into a spiral.
A sigh left your lips, and you buried your face into your hands. You wished the warmth you felt was the crook of Taylor's neck.
Oh, god, she was probably so mad at you. Blaming you back just as your mind was. What were you to do? The way you ignored her was outright cruel. You shouldn't have even done such a thing. Why hadn't you spoken about it? Well, there was no way she could have understood in the moment.
Right as your thoughts were going back and forth, a gentle creak came from the door behind you.
Taylor stood there, gently opening it to see you. There you were. She lets out a breath in relief, just a little, but there was no doubt that worry coursed through her mind when she saw how dark the room was. You clearly soaked all the gloomy atmosphere that you could.
But she wasn't focused on that. She was more concerned about the sight of you. You were just about curled up into a ball, like a cat frightened, but in the centre of the bed. Your arms hugged your legs and your head rested on your knees, staring out into the sheets of the bed.
"Baby?" she whispers out softly. That sweet nickname she always uses for you uttered out her lips without difficulty. You turned your head ever so slightly, your hand tightening in on itself as your fingers furled into your jeans.
When Taylor notices the movement and sees just the smallest glimpse of your face, she takes a step forward to be closer. You tensed a little, slowly slumping forward to your knees.
A gentle sigh escapes her lips, and she carefully went to sit down beside you, the bed dipping with her.
"Baby...whatever it is, I'm sorry, okay? I just...want you beside me again." Taylor says softly. Her voice was a near whisper, to softly get you back to her, as if any longer, you'd disappear in the blink of an eye. Your eyes squeezed in guilt at her words.
"Its none of your fault, Tay, I promise..." you whisper, the words stumbling over each other in the pace it came out. Taylor bit her lip gently.
She was hesitant, but she wanted to help soften the situation. "Okay, but is it...because we couldn't have a picnic earlier, sweetheart?" she asks. You divert your gaze off to the bed, frowning a little in hesitance as you thought about it. It was part of the reason, but not entirely. Even you couldn't tell what was wrong. All you knew is that you hated it.
You then reply by giving her a shake of your head. She could see the gesture clearly, and doesn't press any more on the matter, but moves closer to you on the bed. Her arm brushed against yours.
A breathless exhale escapes your lips. You leaned into her. She didn't hesitate to wrap wrap her arms around you, keeping you warm. Relief ran through her when you let her hold you, and the same was going through yours, having missed her embrace. Of course she would be there for you just to love you as much as you deserved.
Your arms tighten around her, and your face buries into her chest. She closes her eyes, giving you a squeeze and nuzzling the top of your head.
After a bit, she could feel the headphones underneath her chin, and she leans back, looking to your eyes. "...Is this okay?" she whispers, lightly grasping your headphones. You gave her a nod, letting her take them off.
Once she set them aside, her hands return to you, but cupping your cheeks gently. She lets her mind wander, wanting to understand you. You look into her eyes, your lips downturned into a frown mixed with a pout. She then takes a gentle breath in.
"You're exhausted," her voice breathed out. Even if you had been numb, unable to feel your feelings, it wouldn't be surprising for anyone to feel overwhelmed and tired after it. Her thumbs gently caressed your cheeks. Your lips were a pout as you nod, insistently almost. You were extremely exhausted, too fed up of everything.
Your mouth opened, but you couldn't get your words out, and you exhaled sharply, leaning more into her. She held you closer, assuring you to take your time in her quietness.
"Its too much. I'm..." Your hand clenches into her shirt and you sighed. Noticing the struggle in you to speak, she gently rubs your back.
"Frustrated?" She suggests, trying to gently help finish your sentence as she tilts her head. She wishes she could have pieced the signs together sooner.
Another breath left you, and you turn your face out, just a little bit, going to grab her hand and holding it for a while. But it didn't take long for you to eventually fiddle with her fingers.
She can see the anxiety stirring up in your actions, and her eyes soften. "I know, baby...I get it," she whispers softly, her other hand returning to your back.
You relax into her hold, nuzzling closer into her as you felt the soothing movement like a warm blanket, covering you.
"Shh...I love you. You're safe with me," she murmurs, moving both you and her in the smallest rocking motion.
"I'm not mad at you, or anything. I promise, sweetheart, I was just worried, and I miss you," she reassures, her voice a whisper right next to your ear. You sniffle gently, feeling the swelling in your throat.
"I'm not going anywhere..." she could feel the skin of her neck getting stained by your built up emotions, all that was kept inside starting to overflow into her embrace.
You buried your face further, a couple tears leaving your eyes by their free will. "Just..." she starts quietly, in thought of her next words.
"Cuddle with me for a bit, hm?" she tilts her head, brushing your hair back from your face, and giving you a smile, even after everything thats happened that day.
You looked at her with gleaming eyes and a red tinted nose, nodding, having been wishing desperately for just a cuddle, but your thoughts were too tightly woven up together to have said anything any sooner.
She gently pulls you closer. You felt safe in her arms. You always did. As if they protected you from the rest of the world, and all its matters.
"I'm sorry I can't give you peace. I...first this numbness, and now this, I...don't even know, Tay," you whisper breathlessly, shakily, your shoulders were tense as the tears dampened her shirt.
Taylor held her lip, quiet for a moment before she rests her cheek against the top of your head. "You give me peace more than anyone could...even at your lowest."
Her hands gently ran through your hair, feeling every strand. "You're the sweetest person I know," she whispers.
You nibbled on your lip, slumping slightly into her in your defeat. "Not today I'm not..." you whispered back.
Taylor's hands pauses, and she takes a deep breath in, leaning back to look at you with a gentle but stern face. "Today, you were overwhelmed," she says, her eyes looking into yours.
Then, her expressions soften, and her shoulders relax. "That's understandable," she reassures, one hand going to your cheek, her thumb wiping away your tears. You watch her with emotion on your face, unable to say anything else.
She continues. "But it doesn't mean you're not sweet...or loving. Or caring." Every point she reasoned stood to their very own without a way to be fought, making themselves known in your mind.
"You were frustrated with your senses and feelings, sweetheart, please don't be too hard on yourself." She gazes at you, the back of her index finger wiping the remnants in the corner of your eye.
"It happens...okay?" she whispers, planting a sweet kiss to your forehead. "Sometimes, you just have to let it go..."
"I promise you," she murmurs, cradling the back of your head. "Just listen to the room." the fan hums. The wind passed by your ears in sweet quiet greetings. Sometimes the bed creaked at certain movements.
"Our breaths..." She gently took a deep breath in, holding it before releasing, guiding you slowly. You followed, seeing her eyes, looking into them to see the calmness inside. She nods in gentle approval.
"Thats it, feel your heart..." Her hand goes down to your chest, her other one grasping your hand gently to rest on the beat of your heart, every thump, going even through your clothes.
She then brings your other hand to her own chest. "And mine."
Anything left of your tears had dried down on your skin, and soaked into her shirt until the next wash it gets. You relaxed a little more, let yourself breathe and focus on just her.
"Thats all you need," she whispers, a small smile raising on the corner of her lips.
"I love you. So much," she says, still holding your hands. You smiled tearily, leaning in closer, and she let you rest your forehead against hers.
"I love you, too..." you whisper, your voice breaking a little. It was quiet. It was sewn rest.
She stays there, soothing, keeping you with her presence, giving you reassuring touches and kisses.
You needed a moment to settle down, to breathe, someone to lean on and give you warmth.
"Everything will be okay."

➤ ❝𝙐𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍 𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙎𝙐𝙍𝙀❞
➤ 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞. | 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜.
➤ 𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂: nah
The next day, Sebastian let out a frustrating sigh once the young scientist arrived into his room. [Y] greeted Sebastian with a bright smile on his face which made the fishman more annoyed.
“Ugh. It's you again…” Sebastian huffed.
“Yep, it's me.” [Y] beamed before grabbing a lollipop from his pocket, “And I brought more lollipops~”
“Gimme.” The fishman huffed. The young scientist swiped the lollipop from Sebastian's reach, “First, let us get to know each other.”
“Why should I?” Sebastian deadpanned.
“Because it's important to bond with another. I don't give up so easily. Just like my mother says: “Don’t y'all give up and keep moving y'all ass forward”. So…I won't stop until you're open to me.” [Y] grinned with determination. Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows, “You literally just said yesterday that you won't force me to open up to you.”
“To me, that's different. So~ Let us start, shall we?” The young scientist winked. “I'll start. Ahem! I'm [Y] [L]. Aged 19. Born in a farmyard with eleven older sisters and two older brothers. I'm by far the youngest.”
“The fuck? That's like…1…2…3…14 of you. How did your mom survive that shit?” Sebastian raised his eyebrows.
“That's something I'm not sure about. She's a strong woman even when she's close to her 60s. Which is the reason why I became a doctor and a scientist to be sure she's perfectly healthy.” The young scientist explained.
“And…here it is…” the young scientist shows off a photo of his family on the farm. Sebastian's eyes widened, “Damn. That's a lot of them…”
“Right? Which is enough to help ma and da with the farm. It's a…crazy farm, but it's fun.” [Y] chuckled.
“...” Sebastian is sitting quietly and listening to the young scientist’s tale, but he's curious. “How come you don't have a southern accent?”
“Y'all think I can't keep up with these words without my accent? No. Do ya know how hard it is to stay professional as a scientist?” [Y] asked in a southern accent, catching Sebastian by surprise. “But I'm only using that accent when I'm angry. Ma has that anger issue going on. She can get madder than a hen.” (this part kinda hurts to write, i'm trying😭)
Sebastian snorted, “You seem like a completely different person when speaking in that accent.”
“Force of habit.” The young scientist spoke in a normal voice. Sebastian hummed, “...You're lucky to have a family to go to instead of being imprisoned here for something you've never done…”
“...I can tell you have a mother. What's she like?” [Y] questioned. “But...you don't need to tell me if you don't want to.”
“...” The fishman only knows this young scientist for a day and he's starting to trust him. But he doesn't trust him enough to physically touch or befriend him. There's still some way to go. “...You know, like how some mothers are. Sweet, loving, gentle, and always love you no matter what. But what's worse you can get…is a look of sadness and disappointment on her face when she finds out that her son was convicted of 9 murders that he never committed.”
“And yet…he'll never be able to see his family after he…he turned into this…” Sebastian growled, observing himself. “Being stuck here and turned into a monster is worse than receiving a death sentence. Those bastards did this to us.”
The fishman then rises up from his bed, raising his voice, “We are forced to become monsters! What did I do to deserve this, huh?! Why?!”
“I just want to prove my innocence! Clear my name! And go back to my family! It hurts! It fucking hurts…” Sebastian whimpered, covering his face to hide the tears from [Y]’s view as he slowly slid his back against the wall and plopped down on the bed. “...I fucking hate it here…I want to go home…”
“...” [Y] frowned and was going to say something, but the senior scientist called in to the young scientist. “Dr. [L]. Your time. Is. Up. Leave it be and move onto the next one. Now.”
“...” The young scientist furrowed his eyebrows at the senior scientist. He turned his attention back to Sebastian and handed him two lollipops. Sebastian didn't accept it and plopped face-first in bed, so [Y] left the suckers on the nightstand and a sticker on a wrapper. He whispered, “We'll continue this tomorrow and figure something out.”
“...” Sebastian turned away, facing the wall.
[Y] let out a sigh before leaving the room with the senior scientist. After they left, Sebastian turned to the lollipops on the nightstand.
“...I don't need his pity…” Sebastian muttered, gripping on the pillow. “I don't…I just…want to go home…”
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
[Y] arrived into the underwater laboratory. The senior scientist forced him to only take one minute. Why the fucking change? Jealous? Anger? Disappointment? [Y] doesn't care if he disappointed his senior unless it's his mother.
The deal doors open up, revealing Eyefestation who was waiting for the young scientist’s arrival. What's more interesting is that they're wagging their tail. They must've become interested in [Y].
“Aw, did you miss me? I've come just as I promise. However, I am forced to stay for only one minute.” [Y] huffed with his hands on his hips. “Sounds very unfair, right? Which means I won't be with you for long. But hey, I think I might know what can keep you company.”
“...?” Eyefestation tilted their head.
“I've decided that I can bring my glowing goldfish tomorrow and…sneak them in the tank with you.” [Y] whisper the last part, “Please don't eat them. They've been wanting friends for a long time. And I thought that you might need someone to accompany you while I'm gone.”
“FrIeNd…?”
“Someone who can be close to you and never leave your side. A companion. So like, you can swim around with Ziya. I'm sure you two will be best of friends.” [Y] grinned. “...Geez…if only I can set you all free. Being here can be such a hassle.”
“It's always so dark and bland. There's nothing to do here. Where are those times where you all can finally see the light? The green? The sky?” The young scientist questioned as he observed the dark area. “This is like a factory holding a bunch of animals hostage while pretending to be a good company that—”
The glass window was sealed before the young scientist could finish his sentence. That fucking senior scientist interrupted him and one minute wasn't even up yet!
“Excuse me? It hasn't been 1 minute yet.” [Y] glared at the senior scientist. The senior scientist scoffed, “One minute. Check the other monsters. Don't waste anymore time and keep your mouth shut.”
“Tch! It pissed me off how you even allowed me to do this and yet you won't let me do my job properly.” [Y] growled.
“You're a scientist. Act professional. There's no optimism here at Hadal Blacksite. Understood?” The senior scientist furrowed their eyebrows.
“...What-fuckin-ever…” [Y] huffed. He softly tapped on the seal and gave Eyefestation a soft “see you tomorrow” before following the senior scientist out of the underwater lab.
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
Life sucks, why the fuck did they even give him 30 seconds to communicate with the monsters or is it just the senior scientist? Bullshit. Maybe…
“So, I would like a 30 minute communication with the monsters. I was able to communicate with them without any harm.” [Y] explained to another senior scientist. “You see, Dr. ███████ wouldn't allow me to communicate with them a little longer. It's part of my job as a recruiter. I can't get to a higher rank if Dr ███████ wouldn't allow me to. So, you don't mind me as a scientist, may I have a 30 minute interview?”
“...You do have a great degree. Your optimism isn't suitable for a professional, however…you are the only one who was able to keep them in check, so it wouldn't hurt to give you 30 minutes. Starting tomorrow.”
[Y] clasped his hands together, “I was hoping for more time today, but tomorrow is great.”
The young scientist then sent Dr ███████ a smug look, “See ya tomorrow, doc?’
“Tch!”
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
“You seem to be working a dangerous job. Are ya sure ain't harm this time?” [Y]’s mother asked after her youngest son showed her some pictures from the Hadal Blacksite.
“Nah. I'm fine. Fresher than a fresh apple.” [Y] grinned.
“Ya don't seem to mind handling these dangerous tasks, huh?” the eldest sister raised her eyebrows. “I'm sorry that these monsters might harm ya.”
“They're not monsters. They're just hostages who were forced to be experimented on which is why I'm planning to find a way to expose the dark company and their scheme.” [Y] explained. “Sis. You're a chief officer, ya got those documents I can research on…Sebastian Solace?”
“Sebastian Solace? You mean that man who committed 9 murders? Why?”
“He's one of those experiments that was declared dead. Z-13…” [Y] said, placing the files on the table for his elder sister to grab. The elder sister observed the files and she was…not surprised, “I knew it. They're up to something, but it isn't enough evidence to expose the company. We'll need more.”
The elder sister’s twin brother led over and checked the files, “I've heard of that company. They took some of our animals, didn't they? Cuz’ we mistaken them as a company that helps animals.”
“Yup. That's the one.”
“Let us try to figure something out in order to have them exposed. We should collect more evidence.” [Y] hummed.
“But ya gotta be careful now, sugar plum. It could lead to you being killed.” The mother frowned.
“Don't worry, ma. I'll be alright.” [Y] smiled. “Promise…”
“Mm.” The father muttered. That's right, the father couldn't speak, all he could do was mutter. “Mm. Mm.”
“It's ok, da. As your youngest son, I'm doing my best to try to free them from that rotten place.” The young scientist smiled.

this one here was requested my one of my lovely Wattpad followers!
tag list; @ravennaortiz
word count; about 1.4k
Happy couldn't believe his eyes as he entered the living room and saw their family dog, a white pitbull puppy, in a Halloween sweater for dogs, the wooden floor creaking under his heavy boots, announcing that he was home. Cassie, his beautiful wife, sat on the floor with their one year old son placed in her lap, the little boy stuffed into a pumpkin costume while their three year old daughter ran towards him in her ladybug custume, her blonde hair sitting in pigtails on top of her head.
This might be a strange view for some people, but for him it was normal by now, knowing his wife was an absolute Halloween fanatic. Scented candles made sure the house smelled exactly like it should during this time of the year. He couldn't care less about the way his house smelled, Cinnamon and apple definitely wouldn't be his first choice though. But as long as Cassie was Happy, he was too.
"Daddy! Look at my outfit!" The three year old girl spun around a few times, making sure to show off her whole outfit with the brightest eyes. "You like it?"
Happy watched his daughter's face light up even more as he picked her up, her little arms wrapping around his neck. "It's perfect, bug. You picked it out?"
"Yep! I wanna be a ladybug", the girl sing-sang, wobbling her head from side to side.
Happy winked at the woman on the floor, almost unable to take his eyes off the woman he had married five years ago. "Glad Mommy showed you the costume, you definitely chose the right one", he assured the little girl.
"Hey Baby", Cassie greeted him with the sweetest smile, getting up from the floor with their son. "This little fella here I thought would look cute in a pumpkin costume. I just couldn't leave it at the store", she explained, her tone almost sounding like a whine. "You have no idea how hard it was to only take two costumes. Well, threeᅳ I had to get Ace a costume, too."
"Yeah, bet it was such a hard decision", he rasped, his tone mocking yet still loving before he bent down a little to capture his wife's soft lips for a kiss. "Means you're ready for tomorrow?"
"Yep, as ready as we can be", Cassie nodded eagerly, stealing another kiss from his lips. "You're coming too, right? We'd love that, baby."
"Yes! You have to come with us, daddy", the three year old girl added quickly, tracing her father's head tattoo with her tiny finger.
Happy let out a raspy laugh before placing a kiss on his daughter's cheek and running a hand over his babbling son's dark hair, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards as the boy happily squealed at him. "Of course I'm comin', I promised you."
Cassie smiled, letting out a sigh of relief. For a moment she had been afraid something had come upᅳ club business or whatever. "Good, can't wait to go trick or treatin' with you guys."
"Our kids better get enough candy or I'll take care of it personally", he winked at his wife, earning a giggle from her in return before following her in the kitchen, the smell of Cassie's perfect lasagne filling the air. "Smells good, babe", he praised, giving her ass a quick slap as their daughter was distracted looking over his shoulder to see what Ace was doing.
Cassie rolled her eyes playfully as she sat their son into his highchair. "Stop scaring our neighbors or our kids won't get anythi at all anymore. Now sit down, dinner's ready."
"They can try not giving them anythin", he said with the slightest smirk and a murderous glint in his eyes before he listened to his wife an sat down, placing their daughter on the chair next to him.
The rest of the evening was almost like every other. After dinner they watched a movie with the three year old, a Halloween one of course, while their son was already in bed, before spending some quality time together and preparing some trick or treat bags for tomorrow after they had out their daughter to bed.
ᅳ
The next evening it was finally time and, as promised, Happy had taken the time for his family. Together with Jax, Tara, Abel and Thomas they had walked through some streets in Charming to go trick or treating.
After Jax and Tara had decided to go to Gemma's, but the three-year-old hadn't had enough of collecting candy, Happy and Cassie had decided to stroll a few more blocks, wanting to let their children have some fun.
Happy's eagle eyes kept an eye on the three-year-old, her ladybug costume with the blinking shoes so conspicuous that they couldn't really lose sight of her. Their son was sitting on his arm, his other one draped over Cassie's shoulder.
"Oh, someone's tired", Cassie cooed as the one-year-old yawned on Happy's arm and rubbed his eyes with his little fists. "Maybe we should get home soon."
"Probably", grunted Happy, running his large hand over his son's head as the boy sighed theatrically and stuck his fist in his mouth as always when he was hungry. "And he's hungry too", Happy added, snorting a laugh.
Cassie rolled her eyes in amusement. "Of course he is, it's been an hour since his last meal. Poor boy is probabl starving already."
"Yeah, I think he needs his mom", the SAA chuckled before whistling in the next moment. He immediately had not only Ace's attention, who was happily running beside them and wagging his tail, but also that of the three-year-old who came running, her tiny feet carrying her quickly to her parents. "Your brother needs some sleep, we're going home, okay bug?"
"Noooo", the three-year-old pouted, clutching the handles of her black bat-shaped candy bag. "I don't have much candy yet!"
Cassie lifted an eyebrow in amusement, crossing her arms. "Oh, that's a lie. How about we go home and eat some of the candy, huh?"
The three-year-old parted her lips, ready to protest, which looked pretty cute in her costume and gave her parents a hard time staying strict. "Butᅳ"
"No buts, little Lady", Happy replied sternly, gently pulling her closer by her hand. "If you come with us now, we'll make some popcorn and pick out another movie. And tomorrow you can wear your costume again. Deal?"
"Really?" The three-year-old's eyes lit up, her small protest forgotten as she took her mother's hand and went home with them without throwing a tantrum.
"Thanks", Cassie mouthed, flashing her husband a smile. It was at moments like these that she always fell in love with him all over again.
ᅳ
Happy looked down as his daughter's soft snores mixed with the singing of the movie. Nightmare before Christmas was a huge hit in the Lowman house, but apparently this time it wasn't exciting enough to keep the three-year-old awake.
"Look, she even has a popcorn in her hair." Amused, Cassie plucked the popcorn out of her daughter's hair and put it on the table before peeling herself out of the cozy blanket and getting up, earning a confused look from Happy. "Take her to bed, I'll wait for you in the bedroom."
"That's what I've been waiting for." Within a few seconds and a grin on his lips, Happy stood up and carefully scooped the three-year-old into his arms while Cassie turned off the TV.
After a few minutes and both children asleep, Happy made his way to the bedroom, leaning against the doorframe with a huge grin as he let his eyes wander over his wife's body. Wearing nothing but a pair of black lace panties, she lay on the bed, her body propped up on her elbows.
"Come here", she said sultry, running her fingertips down her stomach and between her legs as she bit her lip. "Time for your treat."
"That's my kind of treat", he croaked, followed by a deep growl rattling through his throat.
With a kick of his foot, he quietly kicked the door shut. Happy got rid of his own clothes before he buried his head between his wife's legs after removing her slip, a satisfying grunt coming from him after getting the first taste of her arousal.
For him, listening to her moaning and whimpering his name, was the perfect way to end the day.

-2024 Masterlist-
A/N- Thanks for prompting this, Rie! I finally expanded more on it ayy, hope you like it, sweetheart 💗
Edited: 22/12/24
You've known Minghao for some time now; you've participated in his tea ceremonies many times throughout that time too, so you know how things are supposed to go. Except today, for some reason, Minghao decides he wants to play.
It starts like any other time.
You place the beautiful, small, circular low table in the usual place by the window, with your usual pillows either side in the perfect places to have wonderful views out of the window. Minghao gathers everything needed to brew and make the tea you both favour at the moment.
And you both sit and talk as calm and content as you always do while the tea brews.
Minghao pours the tea like always and hands your cup over in the same manner as he always does.
Or, at least, you don't immediately register the difference.
As Minghao offers your cup your eyes lock, which in itself isn't unusual but there's a dangerous little tint in his gaze this time that you truly fail to notice as you don't keep the eye contact up. You're more focused on carefully accepting the cup from him to minimise the chance of spillage, or the cup itself slipping from your fingers and smashing on the table.
It's not the first time your fingers have brushed either, so you think nothing of it and lean back to sit comfortably on your cushion again.
A warm starts to slither up your back. Like heated fingers working over your bare skin under your t-shirt and edging up, and up, until they simply melt away before they meet the side of your ribs.
You shuffle a little, eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the strange sensation but you ignore it, figuring it was some kind of hot flush from being in the direct sunlight entering through the window compared to the shade you were in before on the couch.
The left side of Minghao's mouth twitches up ever so slightly in pleased amusement as he watches you adjust your position out of the sun's direct rays to try and counteract your growing internal temperature.
“Everything okay?” He asks while lifting his cup up towards his face in time with you looking across the table to him.
Subconsciously, you copy the action to breathe in the soothing, familiar scent of the tea.
Your breath catches a little at the sudden increase of warmth in your body. It's gathering in your lower stomach and suddenly, you realise it's not a normal warmth, but the gently pulsing heat of arousal filling your veins.
The realisation makes you pause in genuine bewilderment, and a little horror at the fact you're getting horny out of the blue while drinking tea with Minghao.
Being around Minghao in general can lead to sudden bouts of arousal; he's a very attractive man, after all. You're certainly not blind to his appeal in any way, shape or form.
But in the midst of a tea ceremony?
That feels wrong. It's supposed to be a calm time of self-reflection and appreciation of all you have and the person with you.
Minghao had told you that one day when you asked why he wanted you to join him; he said he wanted to show you that he appreciates you and your presence in his life by sharing the moment of calm with you.
You're pretty sure that he never imagined arousal to be part of your appreciation towards him.
Though, admittedly, there's a part of you that doesn't try to shut out the growing heat. A part of you that likes that you feel this way right now. A part of you that enjoys the thought of feeling something so highly inappropriate for the moment and dragging Minghao into it with you.
Not that you plan to act on that deviant part of your mind. That's not the kind of relationship you have with Minghao. Your relationship is purely platonic.
Even if you'd like that to change. And sometimes you think he may too, but you can't tell if you're deluding yourself with wishful thinking or if the playful banter and flirting is real.
Regardless, getting horny over tea really isn't how this is supposed to go.
Minghao can see your mind whirling; can see each thought as it runs through your mind. You're not aware of that though; he hasn't yet told you that he's gifted in such a way.
Mind gifts are often frowned upon and tend to cause fear and anger in others so Minghao prefers to keep his gift a secret until he trusts someone.
It's been some time since Minghao started to trust you, yet he hasn't been brave enough to tell you in fear of your reaction, but today, something about you today had his own mind racing and his inhibitions lowering enough to make him get a little brave.
Or reckless, because he truly does not know how you'll react when you learn the truth; that he is directly controlling your mind, only a little but enough that your natural reactions kick in. A little nudge in the desired direction is all he's doing.
A press of an invisible palm against your inner thigh makes you look at the tea questioningly and wonder if this is some kind of special aphrodisiac blend.
You know that nobody is touching you, yet it feels so real; it feels just like you imagine Minghao's hand would. His long fingers curling over your flesh and testing the give under their pressure, his thumb stretching up and reaching the apex of your inner thigh almost, to bathe in the gathering heat made worse by this ghost touch.
“Is-is this a differ-” You stop to take a shaky inhale as another hand presses against your other thigh and you can't help but spread them fractionally wider in your cross legged position.
“Hm?” Minghao hums, tilting his head as if he isn't tricking your mind into thinking he's pressing against your thighs and basking in the fact that you willingly open up a little in a natural response to his phantom touch.
He doesn't show it, of course, but Minghao can feel his body heating up in reaction to you. To the knowledge that although you are confused and trying to piece together why you're getting aroused with no obvious reason, you're still imagining his hands and subconsciously encouraging it, liking it.
“Is this-is this a different blend?” You manage to get out your query this time, even if it’s with some stammering. Your tongue feels weirdly heavy in your mouth, like something is pressing on it.
As you register that, you realise it truly feels like something is against your tongue; thick, and long, and heavy and you have to bite back the whimper that suddenly wants to rise in your throat at the thought of it being Minghao’s cock on your tongue and making it hard for you to talk around the length of it.
“Mm, no, the same as the past few weeks, why?”
You can’t even respond, too afraid to open your mouth in case a needy whine tumbles from your tongue and into the air between you.
The smug little smirk curving Minghao’s lips grows at your obvious expanding struggle. Your cheeks are getting visibly darker with the flush spreading over your skin.
You keep squirming every few seconds and only stop when the fingers on your thighs squeeze a little; a silent demand to still. A demand you manage to understand on a subconscious level and follow obediently.
Minghao bites his lip at the sight; the understanding that you would submit to him, you would still and move at a touch of his hand, at a word exhaled against your skin almost silently.
He can’t keep this up much longer; he’s getting so restless himself, cock starting to strain against his loose shorts and he’s just glad for the table between you two, and your own arousal distracting you enough that you don’t notice.
But perhaps if you had, if you were aware of his arousal as he was your own, neither of you would have to suffer so.
As it is though, you are both suffering from the heat under your skin eating you up from the inside out and no way to soothe it without speaking the truth aloud.
Minghao adjusts his cup a little and blows at the steaming liquid lightly.
Even though you know that he is too far away for the soft exhale to reach you, the moment you see the steam adjust under his guidance, you feel the breath against your neck. A gentle caress over your heated skin that sends a shiver of delight down your body as your eyes flutter ever so slightly.
“Cold?” He asks with a teasing edge to his voice that he fails to hide. You catch it and look at him with a slight raise of your eyebrows. Minghao just raises his eyebrows back at you to silently question your own silent question.
For a couple of seconds, the two of you just stare at one another; silent and still with only the steam rising between you. Then Minghao purses his lips and blows against his tea once more, sending another shiver through your body as a slow puff dances over your throat and edges under your collar to the top of your chest, leaving goosebumps in its wake.
“Do you need warming up?” No sooner than the words are out of his mouth, your body is enveloped in sudden heat. It feels like he’s wrapped himself around you entirely, bare skin to bare skin.
You quickly put down the cup as your breath catches on a shaky inhale, lips parted and hands trembling with the sudden surge of warm arousal filling your body.
It’s too much for Minghao. He had watched your eyes practically roll back and your back arch slightly, and now he truly cannot keep this little game up anymore.
As quickly as he can without it being jarring, Minghao releases his hold on your mind, letting his phantom touch and influence melt away until you’re left feeling cold in comparison, even with the residual warmth he caused and the arousal still aflame in your veins.
“Are you okay?” He asks softly; worried he has overstepped especially as you shiver, not once but twice at the sudden lack of his projected warmth around you.
“I-I think there’s something wrong with me,” you admit while flattening your hands against the tabletop as you blink rapidly to try and bat the fuzz in your mind away.
“No, there isn’t.” He puts down his cup and starts to reach out for you yet decides that he shouldn’t, he can’t. He’s already perhaps overstepped far too much.
Minghao knows that you’re interested in him; even when he doesn’t delve into your mind, he’s aware of it and always has been. But that doesn’t mean that you are okay with mental manipulation. Minghao knows he can get in a lot of trouble for what he just did; that there’s a moral line of consent and he has severely blurred that line, perhaps bulldozed right over it.
Still, his cock is thick against his thigh just remembering how you had reacted to him; how beautiful you looked with pink cheeks and eyes glossing over.
He’s not sure he will truly regret it even if his actions have ruined the trust between you because at least now, he has that image in his memories to look back on with a hand around his cock and your name spilling from his tongue when he’s overcome with the urge to ruin you yet cannot.
“It was me,” the confession sits heavy in the air between you as you look at him confusedly. “I…I was…in your head.”
“In my head?”
“Yes.”
“Like…mental manipulation?” Minghao nods in confirmation. “Oh, so that’s your gift.”
“What?” He looks puzzled now while you hum in understanding. “You knew?”
“Yeah, my gift is sensing Gifted people. I can spot a Gifted, if someone is going to come into a gift, if they’re lost their gift or it’s blocked. I’ve always known you’re Gifted, Hao, I just never knew what that gift is.”
“Oh, why didn’t you ask?”
“I figured you didn’t want me to know. I can see why; your type of gift is perhaps one of the most looked down on.”
“Yeah… with good reason.” He motions to you vaguely. “As you know, it’s very easy to manipulate someone’s mind.”
“Ah, so the tea isn’t an aphrodisiac.”
“No.” He gives an awkward little smile but you don’t look upset in any way so he doesn’t feel that bad about it now. Just a little bit. “Just me.”
“You’re the aphrodisiac?” You joke, making him huff out a laugh. “Well, I guess if you’ve been in my head, you already know how you affect me so that’s not entirely inaccurate to say.”
“I…no, I guess not.”
You’re taking this all so easily, so smoothly, and carrying on like everything is normal that it makes Minghao’s cock twitch. Maybe, just maybe, this is going to be the turning point in your relationship that he’s been waiting for.
“Just to be clear, you’re not mad at me for doing that to you?” He questions, adjusting his position slightly while turning towards you a fraction more.
“No. I’ve never done that before, it’s…interesting.”
“Interesting?”
“Hot.”
“You liked it?”
“You know I did.” You scoff, rolling your eyes, and reach for your cup but a sudden surge of heat in your core makes you almost double over with a gasp, hands gripping onto the table for stability. “Hao,” you exhale, need laced heavily in your words.
“Tell me to stop at any point,” he murmurs, moving closer and sitting on his knees on your left yet far enough away that you’re not even close to touching; even if his control on your mind is making you feel his hands smoothing over your thighs, his lips and tongue tracing heated lines up both sides of your neck at once.
You just about manage to force your heavy eyes to find him and lips to curve up in a challenge as you say the word one he needs to lose all grip he has on his self-control and ruin you like he’s always wanted to. “Never.”
Don’t forget to reblog if you liked to help spread the story and let others read it too! And don't be shy to leave comments or send an ask so I can see your thoughts 🥺 💖

Thoughts on the latest hot take going around surrounding Ambessa? People claiming that she's either a sociopath or psychopath?
I think.......people don't seem to understand how much of Ambessa's actions are driven by pure fear. Fear of losing everything she worked for. Fear of dying. Fear of losing her family. But of course she can't show that fear for any reason because it'll be seen as a sign of weakness. And as a leader, you can't afford to be seen as weak. So she keeps her fear within and hardens her exterior.
But obviously, that hardness can't fly when you're raising kids, especially when you have one like Mel who's naturally empathic and quite sensitive (even in utero). Maybe Kino and her stepfather was able to step in and bolster her emotionally and affectionately where Ambessa couldn't (or wasn't able to) and that's why she's so attached to them both. The mention of Kino's death was enough to stop Mel in her tracks outright.
Ambessa couldn't seem to understand why Mel is the way she is, so she tried to remake her in her image. Then when that didn't work, she sent her to Piltover in an attempt to maintain her hard front (thus the whole "you weakened me" conversation). She saw a younger, "weaker" version of herself in Mel and couldn't bear it, so she did what she does best and pushed her aside.
Hi anon, so awesome question/remark and love your insights and sorry it took me so long to answer this.
I haven’t seen this take go around personally, but it’s an interesting question. I’ll try to break some of my points down. Also, I am no LoL expert, but I’ve been slowly getting into the lore, places, characters, factions etc and try to see things from the ‘POV’ of the characters and how that would form their different worldview and that’s what I tried to do with Ambessa.
Ambessa embodies complexity where she walks a fine line between a merciless ruler and a deeply flawed but protective and narcissistic mother.
The term "psychopath" often describes someone with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). Key traits include manipulativeness, impulsivity, lack of empathy, and failure to conform to societal norms. Ambessa certainly exhibits some of these traits—especially her manipulative tendencies and ruthless pragmatism—BUT the context of her culture, the Noxian one, it muddies the waters.
Ambessa’s aggressive and warlike nature is culturally appropriate for Noxus, where strength, cunning, and survival dominate societal values. She was introduced her to death and war at a young age, preparing her to thrive in a brutal world. As a result, what might seem psychopathic elsewhere is normalized within her context.
Manipulation vs Empathy
Ambessa’s relationship with Mel, challenges the idea that she lacks empathy. There are many key moments where she does show genuine care, even if it is in her own way and it doesn’t make it psychopathic or sociopathic, I feel. Now how that translates and shaped Mel is whole other discussion and a can of worms.
1. Ambessa says she cast Mel out because she "couldn’t endure the look in [her] eyes" when making harsh decisions—a clear sign of emotional vulnerability. But a lot of it also has to do with Mel’s hidden powers and the BR going after her.
2. S2, Ambessa prioritizes Mel’s safety above all, a stark contrast to her calculated, militaristic demeanor.
These actions imply that Ambessa feels deeply for her daughter but struggles to balance love with Noxian ideals of strength and control.
Love and Power
Does Ambessa love Mel, or is she merely using her for power? This duality defines much of her arc. While her actions sometimes appear transactional (e.g., viewing Mel as an important asset for the Hextech and successfully influencing/ manipulating Jayce), her emotional reactions—especially moments of visible pain and hesitation when she tells Mel why she left her and also in S2, the revelation of what happened to Kino her ‘sweetness’, when facing the Black Rose—show that her (motherly) love is genuine and powerful, albeit twisted and pragmatic at times by her Noxian upbringing. She keeps Mel away from it all even if she pushes her away and family means EVERYTHING to Ambessa, but she’ll also do everything to keep her family intact and protected. Even more fiercely after Kino’s death.
My answer:
While Ambessa exhibits traits that explain what ASPD is—manipulativeness, control, and strategic deceit—in my opinion she doesn’t meet the criteria:
Empathy: Ambessa shows a fierce (struggling) emotional depth, especially regarding her children.
Impulsivity: She is highly calculated, planning wars and manipulations with precision.
Emotional Control: While she thrives in war, personal losses (Rictus’s death for example) deeply affect her, showing emotional vulnerability.
Rather than a psychopath, Ambessa might be better described as a character with narcissistic tendencies shaped by her harsh environment and the culture she grew up in, which is Noxus and soooo different from Piltover.
A Legacy of Duality
Ambessa’s arc concludes with her acknowledgment of Mel as both "fox" and "wolf"—a blend of cunning and strength that defines survival in their world. Even in her dying words, Ambessa’s pride in Mel’s growth underlines her complex humanity.
Ambessa’s story is not one of psychopathy but of survival, legacy, and the blurred lines between love and control. A Legacy of Duality
#ambessa medarda#mel medarda#arcane meta#arcane analysis#this took me a while and hope my English is all good lol#but yeah the medardas are really interesting#hope it makes sense#and I read a tweet of the novel writer who said she wrote out ambessa’s code and made some interesting comments about it

Sunrise/Sunset — Flufftober Day 24
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: In which you and Rumi go to watch the sunrise!
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: Y'all may noticed which are my favourite girls in mha by how i start the fics with them... But that's okay because I love her, right?
𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: before war! also might be ooc
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 380
"C'mon, wake up!", She started to pull you harder and harder. Why you were so difficult to waking up? Yet, she likes a good challenge, and you are certainly a demanding one!
"Five minutes...", you groaned. The bedding is so soft and cozy. So pleasant... You could lay there forever. Without any worries... With a warm blanket over your body... Without any woman pulling it out of you...
Wait, pulling it out of you!?
"You're cruel, Rumi...", you murmured, irritated by her actions. What's wrong with you wanting to sleep!? It's 5 am and you aren't going anywhere because she says so!
"You're just a sleepy head", she takes your hand and pull it to make you stand. "Get ready in a minute. I already wasted too much time on waking you up", she rolled her eyes and pulled the blanket over the bed. "And don't even think about going back to sleep 'cause if you'll do, I'll carry you", she says as she walks towards the door.
"I wouldn't complain at all...", you muttered as you went to the closet.
"I heard that!", she teased as she went to the hall.
***
"How long yet...?", you groaned. She was too fast for you. How a normal person would match a top ranked hero!?
"All you do is complaining! Find a life", Rumi replied. She wasn't even sweating or anything. How she can keep going like that without any effort?
"Maybe I should", you breathed heavily. Please, let the end comes soon...
"We're here!", Mirko says after a few minutes of walk. "Are you alive or something?"
"You gotta be kidding me...", you kneeled. That was too much. You were breathless and yet she laughs at you? No way.
"I don't know, you look like you are about to die, maybe I should do you a cpr?"
"I hate you..."
"Yeah, me too. Shut it and look at the scenery, now."
Even though you were about to make a ripost of the year, you listened and looked ahead.
This was stunning.
The Sun was slowly overtaking the view with its orange, showing itself above the horizon. That was something magical if you ask me. Something else.
"So... Will you stop complaining now?"
"Only if you carry me on our way back."

Hello! It’s me again! Thank you sm for the Tatsu x Reader domestic headcannons. May I request my glorious king again but this time Tatsu x reader jealousy??
As soon as this dropped into my box I knew I just had to do this! Tatsu does not get enough love.
Tatsu does not get jealous. He is very secure in his relationship. He isn’t the kind of man to get jealous over every little thing. It’s not like anyone would ever flirt with you—not when you have a former yakuza in a suit following you like a shadow. However, when he does it takes him a while to register what’s happening. At first, he thinks they’re just being polite or helpful, because why would anyone want to disrespect him like that? But when it starts getting a little too friendly, you can practically hear the mental gears grinding as he puts it together.
Once Tatsu figures it out, his face hardens. He’s still calm, but his eyes narrow just slightly. To anyone else, it might not seem like much, but you know your husband well enough to recognise that cold, sharp look in his eyes—the kind of look that used to make gangsters run in terror. He’s not going to make a scene... yet.
Tatsu doesn’t need words to interrupt the flirty conversation; he’ll simply slide between you and the other person with a silent but intense presence. His broad back effectively blocks them from your view, and he stands just a little too close to you, showing without saying a word that you’re his. It’s a possessive move, but not in an aggressive way—it’s more like he's quietly staking his claim.
While he normally isn’t the clingy type, when he's feeling jealous, Tatsu’s hands will find excuses to linger. He’ll place a firm hand on your waist, or his arm will snake around your shoulders, pulling you close. To anyone watching, it’s clear: you're off-limits. His touch is protective, but there’s also a hint of pride, as if to say, This is the one I cherish, so back off.
If the flirtatious person hasn’t gotten the hint yet, Tatsu will finally speak. His voice is cool and calm, but there's an underlying threat that only someone familiar with his past would notice. He’ll say something like, "Thanks for keepin' my wife company, but I think we're good now." His words are polite, but the intensity behind them sends chills down your spine. The other person usually backs off at this point—no one wants to mess with someone like Tatsu.
Later, when you’re alone, you might tease him about being jealous. Tatsu will try to play it cool, brushing it off with a nonchalant, "I wasn't jealous… just makin' sure no one gets the wrong idea." But the way his arms tighten around you, pulling you against his chest, tells you otherwise. He might even grumble something about how “people need to know what’s mine,” but there’s a softness in his voice now, the intensity gone, replaced with affection.
Tatsu isn’t normally one for PDA, but after a jealousy-inducing situation, he’ll surprise you with sudden bursts of affection in public. It’s his way of reaffirming his bond with you, showing anyone who might be watching that he’s serious about you. He’ll plant a kiss on your forehead or your hand, even in front of others, which is rare for him. These moments are always full of warmth, and you can feel his love radiating from the simple gestures.
After his jealousy cools down, Tatsu will try to make it up to you in his typical dramatic fashion. He’ll prepare an elaborate dinner, going all out with dishes you love and even some you’ve never heard of. "You deserve nothin' but the best," he’ll say as he serves you food with the same reverence as he used to have for yakuza rituals. It’s over-the-top, but it’s also his way of showing how much he values you.
On the rare occasions when his jealousy really flares up, Tatsu might lean close and whisper something in your ear. His voice is low and serious, and though his words aren’t threatening, they carry a possessive undertone. “You’re mine, ya know that? Only I get to look at you like that.” It sends shivers down your spine, not because you feel threatened, but because his rare display of jealousy is always laced with so much passion.
After the heat of the moment passes, Tatsu will hold you close, brushing your hair away from your face and pressing soft kisses along your forehead. He’ll murmur reassurances, his earlier intensity gone. “Sorry if I scared ya back there,” he’ll say, voice soft. “Just don’t like the idea of anyone thinkin’ they got a shot with you.” There’s a vulnerability in his words, a reminder that underneath his cool, tough exterior, he cares for you deeply and sometimes feels insecure about it.

When he gets you home, Tatsu’s restraint snaps. Without a second thought, he picks you up and carries you across the apartment, not caring if his muddy shoes scuff up the floors. His mind is focused entirely on you—on touching every inch of you. He presses you down onto the couch, too impatient to even roll out the futon.
Tatsu’s hands wander freely now, skimming along your thighs, up your back, and beneath your clothes. There’s a familiarity to his touch that sends a thrill through you. The possessiveness you saw earlier shifts into something more primal as he pulls you closer, his lips trailing along the curve of your neck in slow, heated kisses. Every touch, every movement is a reminder of how fiercely he loves you, of the deep connection that binds him to you—body and soul.
When he finally takes you, it's slow and deliberate, his eyes never leaving yours. The way he moves fills you completely, stretching you to the point where all you can think about is him—his intensity, his unwavering focus. Tatsu’s love is deep and all-consuming, and you feel that in every deliberate thrust, in the way he holds you close, making sure you never forget how cherished you are.
He draws it out, taking his time, savouring each moment as he pulls you apart bit by bit. Long, torturous hours pass until you’re left sagging bonelessly beneath him, thoroughly undone by his devotion. He whispers soft reassurances in your ear, his voice low and tender, as he shows you just how much he cares. In the quiet aftermath, his touches are gentle, as if he's reminding you—once again—that you’re his, and his alone.
