Gregory Deserves Better...
I never make actual posts to be honest, but I feel the need to right now, because I’m just so…tired of this. My favorite character in the newer FNAF era has been mistreated by both fans and the creators. So I’m making this in light of the new book coming that, at least from the description we have right now, sounds like it’s just Security Breach, except Gregory is replaced by Cassie.
I’ve said many times elsewhere how I suspected they wanted to boot Gregory for Cassie, and...I had no idea how right I actually was. It angers me, but…mostly, I’m just hurt and very disappointed, because it sucks to see a character I loved get so disrespected then practically replaced. The ending of Ruin felt like a slap in the face, and the sting is only getting worse. (And very quickly, in case anybody takes this from what I'm saying, no I don't hate Cassie. I just don't want her to completely replace Gregory.) I’m not here to talk about that situation, though.
If anyone for some reason leaves a comment arguing the points I make, I’m just going to ignore or even delete it. I’m not here to discuss or argue with people who disagree with me and/or think Gregory is a bad character. I just want to express an opinion that I don’t think is said nearly enough. And that opinion is the fact Gregory is severely misunderstood and mistreated by both the fandom and canon itself. I’m not going to get into everything, but enough that you can hopefully understand the point I’m trying to make.
Most of the Gregory hate at the beginning was due to him destroying the animatronics and then lying about it to Freddy. I don’t see how this makes him hateable or a bad person. “Why’d he have to go out of his way to destroy them?” “He’s a bad person for lying to Freddy and giving him the upgrades of his friends.” “The Glamrocks were so awesome. Why did Gregory have to do that?” What kid in danger would want to help or be nice to the scary robots trying to kill them? Or against the better argument, why would he have sympathy for them in a moment of intense danger? When they were actively trying to kill him? He did what he thought he needed to survive, which was destroying them and using the good parts they had to give him a better chance against them. If they had been nice, he would have liked them, but they weren’t. They were after him. And choosing to do that plus being able to do that doesn’t make him a bad person, and it doesn’t mean he's uncaring towards others or that he’s heartless. What I think people don't take into account is that Gregory did befriend an animatronic, the one who wasn't attacking him. He went to great lengths to help Freddy, and genuinely cared for him; that bear needed to be rescued on more than one occasion lol, and Gregory clearly wasn't just doing it because Freddy gives him a hiding place.
And in regard to the lying, I think Gregory hid that he was getting the upgrades from Freddy's friends, because he didn't want to make Freddy mad or hurt his feelings. That does sound like something a kid would do, and he is a kid. He's not gonna be perfect in this situation, and he doesn't even do anything that bad. I don't think Gregory gets enough credit. Everybody just sees a mouthy kid destroying animatronics they like (despite the fact they're hunting him, and the virus has made them basically mindless. Why wouldn’t he?), and they hate on him for it and other rather stupid reasons. Gregory is more than the “annoying” kid who destroyed your favorite animatronics. He’s a clearly guarded and defensive child who got stuck in a bad and terrifying situation, but…in the end, stayed anyway to prevent this and other bad things from happening to anyone else. Gregory cares. Yes, even if he destroyed some animatronics. The creators calling him the “darkness of the Pizzaplex” or whatever they said doesn’t make sense. On the surface, he might look like some child who destroyed Freddy’s friends, but look any deeper at all, and that’s not the case. There’s so much potential for his character, and I’m upset that he isn’t being given the spotlight or time to further explore his potential properly, especially since Security Breach ended up being a bit lacking in a lot of areas: perhaps another factor in why he’s so misunderstood.
In the end, I’m simply tired of seeing a character that I connected with treated like he was just a writing mistake that now needs to be replaced by a “better” character. I’m not saying his writing was perfect, but he deserves way better than this. I feel very passionate about the characters I like, which is why this has affected me so much, and I hope at least a few people see this.
Anything I missed I’m going to touch on briefly here:
GGY? A cool concept, actually, that I wish was utilized in the games. And Gregory is clearly possessed there, similar to Vanessa, so him being Patient 46 and causing people’s deaths can’t actually be held against him.
Dropping the elevator on Cassie? I firmly believe that was not him, and very clearly the Mimic’s doing. There’s solid evidence behind it, but I’m not going to get into it because it’s exhausting. Just know that no one can convince me otherwise. And even if the writers wanted Gregory to do that, it’s out of character and clearly an act of character assassination.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Now go hug a misunderstood gremlin!

OK RUIN DLC AVAILABLE!! Can I make a request then? How do Ruin glam.freddy, Ruin glam.chica, Ruin Monty, and Ruin Roxy react to an overwhelmed reader? Too much is happening to Child Reader and he ends up crying or bursting with rage. How would they react to the reader? (sorry for my english 😅)
Oh don't worry! Your english is good! (for this, we'll just say reader takes Cassie's place)
.........
Prototype/Ruined Freddy
All you wanted to do was find your friend, and you thought you'd find an ally in your quest when you discovered Freddy in the decrepit Fazer Blaster room.
But something was very wrong as he emerged from the wreckage, joints clicking and parts shuffling before he finally turns to screech at you with great hostility.
Not with his mouth, as he lacked a head, but with his birthday cake hatch that acted like a gaping monstrous maw.
He hunted you down like a wild animal, chasing you until you managed to reach the next inhibitor-
Only for Freddy to be there first, cornering you at last and almost daring you to come closer.
But you were so terrified, so stressed that...you just hid somewhere and cried, not caring what happens to you anymore. "I-I'm sorry, Gregory..I can't do this. I'm too scared and I don't know where I'm going!!"
It's in that moment where Freddy briefly snaps out of the M.X.E.S programming controlling him.
He may have been a prototype, but he did have similar directives to his successor--that being to ensure the safety and happiness of all children who visited. That was his priority.
He follows your cries, and instead of attacking, he offers you the green present in his chest to cheer you up.
You worried it was some trick, but you take it anyways, finding a scratched-up Freddy magnet inside, barely recognizable aside from the shape.
Relieved, you smile and pocket the gift, wiping away your tears. "Th-Thanks, Freddy.."
He stands back up, only for the M.X.E.S to take ahold of him again.
While he's fighting back against it, you duck under him and turn off the inhibitor before making your escape, not looking back once even as he storms after you.
At least you knew he wasn't doing this on purpose.
Ruined Chica
If you weren't already overwhelmed enough by everything happening within the ruined mall...Chica's shattered voicebox was the icing on top.
The noises hurt your ears so, so much..and suddenly you became terrified of every creaking or grating metal sound, always thinking it's her.
Staying on your toes was important, of course, though it was getting to be too much for you to bear.
When she's hunting you down in one of the kitchens, you're so stressed that you end up hiding and covering your ears, trying not to cry as the noises continued.
Before they...abruptly stopped, as she's now aware that her voice simply wasn't going to come back.
But in that moment, she heard your sniffle and immediately found your hiding spot.
You think you're doomed until she sees you covering your ears still, and despite her eyes being out of sorts..
They looked quite guilty.
The M.X.E.S has no control over her at the moment, so she spares you and leaves.
At some point later on you find her original voice box, seeking her out and repairing her to the best of your ability.
"I smell pizza!!" She trills, before the reality sets in that she has her voice back at last!
And it's a brief moment of happiness for her before she shuts down, seeing you by her side as her vision goes dark.
While doing this didn't make you any less stressed about your search for your friend...you felt better knowing you helped her.
Ruined Roxy
She wasn't targeting you because of the M.X.E.S, but rather because she assumed you were Gregory, threatening to tear out your eyes and make them hers.
However she decided to stalk you at a very bad time, as you began shouting and throwing stuff at her after getting so fed-up with coming to dead ends and Helpi's irritating voice.
The first thing was a plushie, which isn't super effective in hurting her, but the sudden impact startled her nevertheless.
Then you began pelting whatever you could find on the ground. Soda cans, crumbled papers, etc. even as she apologized over and over, shielding herself.
"K-Kid, I'm sorry..!!"
"I'm not afraid you anymore!! LEAVE ME ALONE, FREAK!!"
Suddenly, she freezes up, sniffling before she touches her face self-consciously.
"Th-That's right..I'm...I-I'm a freak...I'm a hideous freak!!" She wails, ultimately collapsing to the ground crying.
You stop, realizing the (emotional) damage you've done and....feeling guilty when you see her sobbing.
You honestly thought she was mindless like all the others...and yet..part of her old personality remained, notably the "insecure" part of it.
Keeping the mask clipped to your side (as you didn't wanna see her through some green hologram), you approach and kneel down, awkwardly trying to comfort her.
"Roxy? I-I...I didn't mean to call you that. I'm sorry." You frown. "You're not a freak, you're still..um...p-pretty. I..I've just been angry and I took it out on you...because you keep thinking I'm Gregory."
She's surprised to hear that you aren't actually him, but is still hurt by the insult.
You stay with her for a bit, reminding her of the mantras she used to tell herself back then, and she begins to repeat them with a smile on her face.
"Your tail is beautiful, your hair is beautiful..and everyone loves you."
"My tail...is beautiful. My hair is..beautiful...and everyone loves me.."
"Yeah, that's good!"
Ruined Monty
He used to be the coolest character to you.
But now? He was nothing like his former self. Just a mindless beast crawling around and trying to bite your legs off.
It was sad, in a way.
Yet you've been attacked by him nonstop ever since you got that stupid mask.
He didn't just scare you, though.
If anything...you got angry right back at him, shouting at him to go away and/or throwing whatever you could to keep him off your back.
Somehow he keep finding you. It's like he had some personal vendetta against you and was powered by rage alone.
In Gator Golf, you found a golf club that wasn't broken, deciding to keep it with you should you ever need to defend yourself.
He was an alligator, yet it somehow shocked you when you're trying to reach the next conduit to unlock a door....and discover that he can swim.
You were stuck traversing boxes like you were playing "the floor is lava"...except the lava is Monty, of course.
When you finally unlock the door, he roars and makes a desperate grab for your leg, and would have succeeded in dragging you into the electrified water...
Had you not used the club to break his hand and chip some of his teeth.
It seemed to bring him genuine pain....but you didn't care.
"Sorry, Monty...BUT I'M NOT YOUR DINNER!!!" You shout as you knock him back into the water, watching him fry.
Part of you felt guilty for doing that once you calmed down and got to safely, but what else could you do?
He was too far gone to help. You had to put him out of his misery.

Hey!!!! You should uhhh infodump about your FNAF AU, that would be really cool. If you want. Especially stuff about Vanessa maybe, she's my girl
Hi! Thanks for the ask! I always wanted to infodump abt this but I never found an outlet!!
Tumblr media
Gregory Alavarez
12 years old
Argentinian
Vanessa offered to get him a haircut, but he preferred the messy shaggy hair
Has amnesia about his past life; he doesn’t remember his parents
Vanessa caught him trying to pierce his own ears, later she took him to a proper piercer.
When asked why he got the piercing, he said it was to match Freddy
Has a tough bad-boy exterior, but he's softer when in Cassie, Vanessa and Freddy’s company
Has like really good grades, he's a smart kid.
Has a lot of sleepovers with Cassie where they just chill playing video games and doing each other's makeup and nails
He also likes drawing and programming
He gets night terrors, and a lot of nightmares of memories that aren't his
He also HATES the dark, and he's a little bit claustrophobic
Owns a TON of Freddy merch and he decorates his bedroom with it
He sees Freddy as a parental figure, but he’s too shy to express it.
Is GGY/patient 46
Vanessa Alvarez
24 years old
Inspired off of her first poster where she had wavy hair and freckles (I just added a tooth gap bc I thought it looked cute.)
Lesbian
Has little recollection of her time as Vanny, Afton put her to sleep most of the time- but she's had visions and physical scars.
Pre-help wanted: her personality was bubblier, she had hobbies like baking, gaming and cosmetics.
Post-security breach: she’s more on the quiet side, she can get anxious and depressed at times. But shes keeping her head up for Gregory (and she’ll learn to do so for herself as well).
As for hobbies: She likes to read now, and she still bakes occasionally
Can be unintentionally rude sometimes
Her parents are deceased (backstory later ...*wink wink*)
She lived at the Pizzaplex for a while, but after the savior ending she got a brand-new apartment to start things over.
Vanessa and Valerie (tape girl) were romantically involved at some point, but were torn apart by glitchtrap
Freddy and Gregory live with Vanessa in her new apartment
Vanessa has legally adopted Gregory, but their dynamic is more sibling-like than it is parental.
Glamrock Freddy
His immobility slightly bothers him, not being able to express himself properly is the worst part of being just an animatronic head.
Vanessa and Gregory like taking him on road trips to see more of the world, so much so that Freddy considers traveling as one of his hobbies
Vanessa and Gregory connected him to the internet so he's basically like Alexa now (he's just sentient)
Him and Bonnie are long lost lovers (he hardly talks about it though)
He's become a reliable source of advice for both Gregory and Vanessa
Freddy is the peacemaker/glue/dad in the group
Vanessa has been working for a while to make a body for Freddy, though the lack of parts available for him has slowed things down. They resorted to stealing from warehouses and recycling everyday items to create a makeshift body for him. Though it's only halfway completed in the present.
He's really good at singing. Oftentimes, he finds himself singing lullabies to Gregory or singing along to tunes during road trips.
He misses his friends a lot of the time, and he’s still a little frustrated with Gregory for treating them with cruelty.
Dislikes conflict/ likes seeing the bright side of things

How does the Mimic know so much about Cassie?!?! Theory Speculation
Something I've been wondering on the course of my playthrough was how the Mimic knew a lot about Cassie.
Maybe not her personally...
But here's the thing...
The Mimic is shown to have communication through HELPI. The message he sent to Cassie was Gregory and when Cassie arrives she says:
"Gregory, are you there? I got your message!"
So this means that the Mimic sent Cassie a message OUTSIDE of the confines of the Pizzaplex.
(Unless you get into the theory that it was real Gregory who sent the outside message in the first place and then from then on out since she got there she was being manipulated by the Mimic through the Roxy-Talky but...........We don't have time to unpack all that... and it does line up with what we know about Patient 46 and GGY..... bbuuuuuuuuttt One theory at a time... lol )
Let's say for the sake of the argument that the Mimic was the one who sent the Outside Message for Cassie for help.
Because... We know what Gregory's message is.
We heard it in the trailer:
youtube
Gregory's message in Text:
"Cassie I hope you get this message. I'm trapped. Here at the pizzaplex or what's left of it. I don't have time to go into how I got here. But you have to help me out! Save me Cassie please! It's so dark down here!
Don't give up on me yet."
(granted the "don't give up on me yet" is more trailer bait line as Steel Wool talking directly to the consumers then what I think was actually in Gregory's message... but I do think the first part is definitely the message Cassie gets.)
This is the message that the Mimic left Cassie. I would say... on her cellphone... But... we know Cassie doesn't have a cellphone at her age.
We can safely assume so because she would have tried to use her cell phone a LONG time ago to try and reach Gregory.
I think that Grimmic left this message on Cassie's home phone. And we know her Dad is out of the picture right now. Steel Wool makes it REALLY intentionally vague if her Dad is alive or dead considering he was a human Staff at the Pizzaplex. She always uses past tense or ambiguous tense when talking about her dad, but it's always unclear if she's speaking in past Tense about Bonnie or her Dad.
But.. We do know that her Dad is not in the picture AS OF THIS MOMENT...
Because in Roxy's Salon, when you use the AR mask near a Fazwrench Door, (remember her Dad has a Fazwrench apparently) you can see this note:
Tumblr media
The reason I say this note is written by Cassie's Dad, is that in Roxy's Salon we see so much of exposition about Cassie's past throughout Cassie's favorite areas. And throughout the game it is severely hinted at that the AR mask does display things based on what the wearer wants to see. or based on memories the wearer has.
aka: Monty soda machines turning into Roxy machines... Sun and Moon's Room being tidy in AR cause Cassie was a daycare kid and remembers Sun and Moon being kind and good daycare attendants. Roxy being the only animatronic that appears as Cassie remembers her fully cause she was her favorite. The mask functions as literal nostalgia rose-tinted glasses at times.
There's also the Brazil/Hallucination ending... where Cassie just sees what she wants to.
Sometimes AR does weird stuff for the sake of weird stuff, like floating objects everywhere and enlarged objects, but because Roxy Salon was so relevant to plot details, and explaining how Gregory and Cassie were friends and how she was devastated when he went missing.... Yeah. I'm saying this note was from her Dad.
So he's not in the picture..... right now of this moment.
So Cassie probably heard this message on her home phone when her parent.... parents?? Parent. Her Dad wasn't home, so she went to investigate the Pizzaplex herself.
Now... How did the Mimic get Cassie's number? how did he send a message to the outside world? We already know that he's connected to HELPI. So I'm not surprised that he can send messages from way below the foundation in concrete...
But.... How did he know how to Mimic Gregory effectively.... How did he know to prey upon Cassie's loneliness? How did he know that she would do everything to help him and she would do it if it was Gregory?
Now... I don't think he knew all this... But there are often times where the Mimic preys upon Cassie's loneliness in a very effective way.
And if you look at the mission objective hud... It keeps changing to things like this:
"Don't you want to save Gregory? Try harder!"
"I'm lonely."
He also says things like: "I'm so scared and alone. It's dark down here. Save me Cassie please"
When they meet for the first time, he even says: "You saved me!"
He preys perfectly upon her loneliness and manipulates her from the very start of the game from the moment he speaks till the moment you get HEPI and the mission objective hud starts saying crazy stuff.
Cassie is a very lonely kid. And I wouldn't be surprised if Gregory is her only friend and she feels she owes him for being there for her when no one else was. Roxanne Wolf and Gregory are all she has. Her Dad isn't even there for her. Either left to "get milk" or was killed by Vanny.... but... in her mind her Dad might have "Went missing" as well... All we know is that her Dad is not in the picture currently and Roxy and Gregory are all she's got.
.....How would the Mimic know this? How does he know to prey upon Cassie's loneliness insecurity so expertly?
....How does the Mimic know how to MIMIC GREGORY???
Well....
We know that Gregory was down here. Cause we do find a backpack with his name on it, right outside the door where Mimic is sealed. Which is probably where the Mimic got the Fazbear Walky Talky from in the first place....
But that's not enough evidence.
We just know that Gregory was down here at some point to probably seal the Mimic with Concrete.... Maybe with Vanessa, but that part is unclear.
But... I think Gregory knew the Mimic before this.
With the Mimic being canon, getting a better grasp on Cassie's character and who she is as a character...
I can say definitively My speculations about her being patient 46, and connected to Charlie in some way......... Since Charlie from the Silver Eyes tends to have weird connections and parallels to patient 46....
But my idea that Cassie would be connected to 46 or Charlie in anyway..... Are completely wrong.
But do you know who seems to be connected to Patient 46 and Charlie More now?
Gregory....
And I don't think Gregory being homeless was a fabrication. He just wasn't living in a cardboard box.
He was living in the Pizzaplex....
And you remember.... that one room... In Security Breach... that everyone theorized about but we had no definitive answers?
Tumblr media
Yeah.
The post-it note room.
This room is written with a lot of notes.... some in binary... some in English. Some in drawings.
But... people pieced together, that this room seems to consist of a Robot coming into consciousness and communicating with a second party.... And I think that it's the Mimic.
Because.... when you EXIT this post-it note room.... You can find a trail of post-it notes... Leading to a workbench... with...
A TRANSISTER RADIO THAT CAN BROADCAST OUT FREQUENCIES AND ENDO SCHEMATICS
Tumblr media
We now know that these are definitively about the Mimic And the Mimic Probably stayed in the Post-it note room for some time.
The post it note room leads a trail that takes us directly to these Schematics...
So... The Mimic was in that room for a long while.... Talking to someone.....
Who do I think they were talking to?
Gregory.
We already know that Gregory is homeless, and we find many of his hideouts scattered throughout the Pizzaplex.... and while we don't know if Gregory has any direct connections to the Afton Family other than being a parallel... This is the only thing that fits given the information we know right now.
And we do know that the Mimic is a Learning Adaptive AI... And it might not have killed Gregory at first cause he was reminded of the boy it used to grow up with.
I don't believe Gregory taught the Mimic things maliciously or manipulatively... I really think Gregory found a robot that crawled into this room he was hiding in that copied him...
And if we know Gregory... this isn't even book text... This is in-game Text.... Gregory sees animatronics as cool robots and toys/tools to mess around with. (I'm saying... climbing into a unconscious animatronics stomach hatch is not the first thing I would do when avoiding mall security......) Like it's part of the reason Gregory's first thought was upgrading Freddy to make his night easier.
Gregory views the animatronics as Robots and tools, while Cassie tends to view them more as people/characters.
So once Gregory comes across this creepy endo that copies him and has his own sign language, they write back and forth and he talks to it. He talks about his friends like Cassie probably, and rambles about stuff... Cause Gregory is excited this thing can learn, and he wants to talk to it and teach it.
Are there holes in this theory?
Sure.
Like Gregory's reaction to the Endos in the base game doesn't line up if he's seen the mimic endo before. Nor his reaction to Burntrap in the Afton Ending. "He? What is that thing???"
There's way too much Afton Family and Charlie/Puppet symbolism in the post-it note room to say definitively that this was the case....
But... The post-it note room leading to a trail of Papers where the Mimic Schematics are....
I really do think the Post-it note room is where the Mimic learned a lot of things... And if Gregory was in there teaching him stuff and talking to it, he Was probably learning about Cassie too.
Anyway, that's what I think and wanted to throw it out to the void before Matpat starts swerving all over the DLC.

Pinky Promise (Tummy Hurts)
He’s in love with her.
Lily Evans couldn't shake off the irritation that manifested as a clenched jaw as she observed the way James Potter gazed at Cassie Gregory during the first five minutes of the Quidditch game. She hadn’t been able to eat that morning, anticipating this scenario in countless ways in her head. It was worse in real life, and now anxious bubbles were building in her stomach, making her queasy.
Cassie Gregory was a remarkable blonde standing at an impressive six-foot-one, perfectly complementing James' towering six-foot-three frame. It was no surprise that she seemed to captivate him, she caught everyone’s eye. Lily observed Cassie's radiant golden locks glimmering in the sunlight as she confidently leaned on her broomstick, overseeing the Quidditch field with sharp, hawk-like eyes in pursuit of the elusive Snitch for Gryffindor’s victory. Cassie's determined jawline and flawless physique were evident even from Lily's elevated position in the stands.
Lily knew why James was smitten with Cassie, but that didn’t make the matter any less annoying. (Read on A03)
Cassie was older, a skilled Quidditch player, and embodied the attractive sports girl aesthetic. Despite her popularity, Cassie's leadership in the dueling club, coupled with a penchant for jinxing those who crossed her, revealed a somewhat narcissistic nature.
Naturally, Cassie prioritized personal victory over the team's success. She wasn’t captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, but she sure as hell acted like it sometimes. Even now she was shouting orders at Marlene, one of Lily’s friends, to stop missing passes. Lily half wished Marlene would tackle the blonde off her broom, but Marlene was better at self control than Lily was.
And Potter’s got the quaffle, he’s heading down the field!” The commentator announced loudly.
Lily looked through her binoculars and found James, leading a chase with the quaffle down field. His arm muscle flexed over the ball, and Lily felt her heart jump when he turned his head and she got to see his cocky smile directed at his opponent. She’d give anything to see that smile aimed at her, in a dark hallway.
Sadly, they were just friends, and she likely couldn’t hold a candle to Cassie fucking Gregory. Lily was the opposite, as far as Cassie was concerned. Firstly, she was James' age; secondly, she did not fly a broomstick. To top it all off, her tits might be good to look at, but her arse was no contender as it was flatter than a pancake. At five foot two, she was tiny standing next to him and probably reminded James of a third year. Her compassionate nature and tendency to care deeply also made her quick to erupt into tears, thanks to her big heart.
Good tits and a big heart, Lily had certainly thought that’d be enough until now.
As James passed by Lily’s side of the stadium, a high-five exchange with Cassie ensued, briefly illuminated by the sun. Lily's discomfort intensified when Cassie blew James a kiss. Her face collapsed and anyone who actually cared about her, would’ve noticed she’d gone completely still. Stillness was never a good sign where Lily was concerned.
She heard James’ laugh chase the wind, and she felt her knees weaken. He had the biggest, loudest, most intoxicating laugh she’d ever heard. Jealousy sprung into her throat as she realized he was laughing because of something Cassie had said, and that was not okay. Lily didn’t understand why it wasn’t okay, but Merlin, she’d love to block Cassie from even looking his way.
Lily sighed deeply.
"Ugh," came an agreeing tone next to her. "Two jocks flirting in mid-air. They're disgusting."
"For what it's worth, they'd make beautiful babies," she murmured to Severus Snape, her best friend, trying to sound as if she were casually discussing the weather rather than the stomachache she had from realizing she wasn’t even in James’ league.
"Yeah, and raise them up to be a couple of monsters like their mother and father," Severus rolled his eyes.
“They aren’t monsters, Sev.”
"People as dimwitted as those two airheads shouldn't be able to reproduce."
“Cassie is the best dueler in her year, and James is—”
“A bully?” Sev counted off on his fingers. “A idiot, a showoff, a arrogant toe—”
“He’s all of those things,” Lily placed a hand on Sev’s knee to calm him down, “but Potter can still outpace us both in test scores.”
“He probably cheats,” Sev picked lint off his robes. “I’m sure he cheats, actually.”
“Okay, Sev.” Lily rolled her eyes, knowing for a fact James wasn’t cheating; he was just too smart for his own good.
It’s what got him into trouble the most.
It got Lily in trouble too.
Turns out, she had a type, and arrogant jocks with good grades were it.
Lily chewed on her lip, her green eyes zeroing in on James, who had just captured the Quaffle from Ravenclaw. Actually, no, Hufflepuff was playing. Oops . Lily just didn’t really care to notice, given that she’d been fixated on the interplay between Cassie and James. She was obsessively trying to decipher if the rumor about them was true, and it was eating her alive inside.
She hadn’t even been able to eat breakfast that morning.
Severus nudged her gently, breaking her concentration. "What's with you today?"
She tore her gaze away from James and Cassie, glancing at Severus with a half-hearted smile. "Just not in the mood for Quidditch, I guess."
Severus raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "You love quidditch."
Lily sighed, admitting defeat. "Not today, I don’t."
Severus snorted. "Well, then why did you drag me out when we could’ve been looking for bowtruckles for my potion?”
As Lily tried to redirect her attention to the match, her mind continued to wander back to the topic of James and Cassie. The Quaffle passed between players, and she half-heartedly cheered when Gryffindor scored. The game was fun, but Lily couldn't shake the knot in her stomach, wondering about the truth behind the rumors.
Everyone was buzzing about James Potter supposedly snogging Cassie yesterday in Hogsmeade. Lily had been occupied with prefect rounds and missed the first half of the Hogsmeade trip, while everyone else seemed to have witnessed it. Even her own housemates claimed to have spotted James Potter and Cassie Gregory engaging in a passionate display.
Marlene McKinnon had practically erupted in outrage when she returned, screaming at Mary MacDonald about the alleged incident. It wasn't necessarily because she wanted James Potter for herself; Marlene genuinely despised Cassie with a fiery passion. This animosity had ignited when Cassie 'accidentally' broke the rules at the dueling club to beat Marlene in a duel of charms. Anytime anything good happened to Cassie, Marlene took it as a personal affront.
Lily couldn't blame Marlene for her tantrum. She, too, had been furious. She had closed the curtains to her bed frame and cried into her pillow for thirty minutes after hearing the news. It felt like a knife in the back, as if she'd been betrayed by the young black-haired Quidditch star.
After all, Lily had kissed James three weeks ago.
The kiss had been a secret one.
But the fact was still a fact.
In the quiet solitude of the library stacks, they had found themselves alone. Engaging in a casual conversation, the topic shifted to the revelation that neither James nor Lily had ever been kissed. James expressed his frustration, feeling out of step with their peers who had already experienced such things. In response, Lily shared her own apprehensions on the matter.
Lily, perhaps impulsively, had offered to be James's first kiss.
Initially he had conveyed uncertainty. "I don't know if it's a good idea. I don't want to ruin our friendship.”
“I pinky swear it won't ruin our friendship.” Lily had stuck her pinky finger out, grasping it with his own.
His eyes were lighting up as she forcibly shook their pinky fingers together. “A pinky swear doesn’t seem legally binding.”
Then he kissed her anyway.
Officially, he had kissed her more than once. After the initial kiss, neither of them had separated for more than a brief moment. It felt as if he were a magnet, drawing her in each time. She had even tried a little tongue on the last go, the way Witch Weekly said, carefully tracing his lip. That had only intensified his grip, keeping her securely in place.
As it turned out, Lily discovered that she liked kissing.
The sensation of their lips meeting was a delightful surprise, and she might have gladly continued the exchange if not for an unexpected interruption. James had pulled back, and had been touching her cheek adoringly. Then, in the midst of that peak romantic moment, Sirius Black stumbled upon them, catching them standing mere inches apart, their faces flushed with feeling.
Caught off guard, James hastily conjured a feeble excuse, claiming he was searching for a nonexistent quill mark on her cheek. The awkwardness hung in the air as he and Sirius hastily retreated, leaving Lily to stand in solitude for what had felt like an eternity, her mind swirling with a mixture of confusion and amusement.
In that thirty minutes, she somehow became totally enamored with him. She loved the way he kissed her back so slowly, so methodically, she could practically hear his brain overthinking every move. She loved his hazel eyes, which were darker in the stacks, and held her with such an intense golden warmth. She replayed the meeting once, ten, or fifty times before heading back to her dorm for a long and hot shower.
Having her first kiss at fifteen must have done something to alter her brain chemistry because she spent that night drawing hearts next to his name in her diary. She hadn’t done that since second year, and never in her life had she imagined doing it around James’ name. They’d been friends, always friends, and now she wanted him as more than friends.
Sadly, the next day after their rendezvous in the library, James totally ignored her.
Then the day after that, he acted like they hadn’t kissed behind the stacks at all.
Lily felt a tinge of disappointment, her affection for him somehow deepening despite the letdown. She yearned for him from a distance, reluctant to jeopardize their five-year friendship over something as trivial as a couple of kisses.
Yet, the crush persisted.
With each stolen glance in his direction, her infatuation intensified—beginning with a subtle blush and escalating into a chaotic whirlwind of thoughts. She found herself captivated by him, and was wondering if Severus was beginning to discern her secret feelings for him. Suspicious looks from Sev had become more frequent, especially when James lingered nearby.
Even now, as she stared out at the field, Severus eyed her with suspicion.
“Go, go, Gryffindor!” the voices in the stands erupted, some cheering for James.
Lily took a deep breath as James skillfully maneuvered his broomstick, tossing the Quaffle to Charity Jones. Unaware that Hufflepuff had caught the Snitch simultaneously, Lily's focus was on James, their eyes meeting in midair. He mouthed her name, accompanied by a wave. A rosy blush crept up her cheeks as she eagerly waved back.
Severus, reacting with disgust, lightly shoved her. Lily laughed, attempting to brush off her embarrassment as she watched James descend to the ground. The game had ended, but her heart continued to race, wondering if he was experiencing the same surge of emotions. The intensity was almost unbearable, leaving her jittery with unspent energy. She knew it was stupid, but the desire to kiss him in the stacks again greatly outweighed anything else at that particular moment.
“I can’t believe you waved back,” Severus muttered moodily as they stood up to join the crowd funneling down the stairs. "Do you like him or something?"
“James?” Lily feigned disgust a little too well. “Sev, he’s got a head so big, I’m surprised he can even fly a broomstick without toppling over from being top-heavy.”
Sev chuckled, tossing his hands into the pockets of his cloak as he responded joyfully, “he and Cassie have ego in common.”
“I just can’t believe he’d date her,” Lily remained even-toned, though the topic infuriated her.
“I know,” Sev let her through the stairwell door first before following with the quip, “I thought Black and he were a thing.”
Lily laughed out loud at that, earning an appreciative look from her usually reserved friend. “You can hardly see one without the other,” she commended, “but I can’t say either one of them has been caught snogging the other—unlike Cassie.”
Sev’s hooked nose scrunched up. “Why do you even care who is snogging who?”
“Because James is my housemate, he’s my friend,” she ignored Sev’s almost perpetual eye-rolling when James was involved. “And I personally think he deserves someone who’ll keep him humble.”
“Humble and James Potter don’t belong in the same sentence as the other.” Sev snorted as they both left the field and started walking back to the castle.
“You don’t know him like I—“
“Lily!”
The butterflies in her stomach had turned to lead weights. Her feet stopped dead in the frosty grass, her face heated back up, and her shoulders straightened. Severus was quick to disappear at the sound of the voice. Lily glared after him for abandoning her, but he just ignored her and fell into step with someone else.
“Lily!” James called her name again, this time he was closer, almost right on top of her.
Lily turned, and James was suddenly right there, inches away. He hadn’t changed from his Quidditch gear, and he had no glasses on, just his goggles pushed up his forehead. Lily eyed his wind-swept hair, admiring the twists it made on top of his head. His hazel eyes sparkled—no, they glowed with happiness at the sight of her.
God, she’s in love with him.
“Hi James.”
“Did you enjoy the game?” James asked cheerfully as students funneled around them.
Lily blinked widely before answering, “yes.”
She would have liked to have said, ‘I enjoyed you,’ but that seemed a bit forward.
“Good.” He walked closer, damn him, and slung a confident arm around her shoulders, leading her in a walk back to the castle. “I saw you in the stands near the end; you look really pretty with your hair down today.”
Lily looked up at him, twirling one long red strand of said hair around her finger. “Thanks, I guess.”
“You guess?” He scoffed, “take a compliment, Evans.”
And then, because she was stupid, she blurted out, “how was Hogsmeade with Cassie?”
She hoped he looked like he was in as much pain as she was because he actually winced when she mentioned Cassie. “Oh, you heard about that, huh?”
“It’s all over the castle,” Lily mused, “I think the student population truly believes you two might be one snog away from bringing peace and prosperity back to our hallways.”
James pinched her shoulder. Hard.
“Ow!” She pushed him away. “That hurt!”
“You deserved it for that snark, Evans.” He rubbed his own arm as if she had bruised him.
Lily eyed him grumpily, noting that he shared her expression. She fell back into step beside him as they crested the hill, the castle rising up over the landscape. It was a rare moment alone with him, despite the sea of people. Lily was hardly ever without Sev, and James had his own ‘glued at the hip’ friends as well.
She preferred them like this, alone, together.
“She’s pretty,” Lily commented, trying to keep her voice even again for the sake of prosperity.
“Who?”
“Cassie Gregory.”
James’ hand reached for his messy hair, and he ruffled it as if agitated. “She is,” he agreed shortly.
“Do you like her?”
His hazel eyes skirted to her green ones. “Why do you care?”
Because I like you. She was too scared of rejection to say it out loud. “Because I’m your friend.”
James’ expression remained taut, and then he hip-checked Lily playfully. “Well, just like all my other friends, you’re going to have to wait for the details on my love life.”
“But you will tell me, right?”
“When I’m in love?” James asked with a sharp tone.
She held out her pinky finger to him, “I’ll tell you, if you tell me.”
His smile widened, he was likely thinking back to their last pinky promise. She held his gaze, not for one second regretting asking him. She liked when she flustered James, normally it was the other way around.
James’ pinky suddenly looped with hers. “I promise, once she’s ready, I’ll tell the whole school who I’m in love with because I won’t be able to hold it in.”
Lily's stomach fluttered once more as she recognized the sincerity in his words. He had that earnest gaze, the one he reserved for moments of honesty. Blushing, she averted her eyes and focused on her feet, feeling the nervous energy radiating from his intense stare. He held onto her pinky, only letting it go once they started walking again.
“Well,” she muttered, attempting to inject humor, “save me a seat at the wedding.”
James snorted, as if finding something ironic in her comment. “You'll be right up front, I don’t even need to pinky promise that.”
"I'm sure Cassie will love that." Lily said smoothly, pretending to check her nail beds to avoid looking directly at James.
"As if I'd marry Cassie," he scoffed, and her heart flew joyfully at the words. "She's a sore loser."
"You said it, not me." Lily almost hugged him, she was overjoyed by the news.
James grinned down at Lily perceptively, "I knew you didn't like her."
"I for one, am disgusted you didn't get my approval before snogging her." Lily mocked, her mood lifted by the turn of the conversation.
James laughed once, tugging on her red hair playfully with his free hand, "I didn't kiss her, it was just a rumor."
He didn't kiss Cassie.
Lily allowed her grin to widen as they entered the Great Hall together. James was immediately bombarded by his friends, who had been searching for him, providing Lily the perfect opportunity to slip away before potentially embarrassing herself. She seamlessly blended into the group of girls near the doorway, stealing one more glance at James. She felt a surge of happiness when she saw him returning her look with a wink.
She waved.
He waved back.
Later that evening, during dinner, James took a seat beside Lily, and she ate everything on her plate.

Guide to Parenting - fnaf fic

something i wrote to pass the time! - enjoy!!
-x-x-x-
Roxy leaned in closer to the book, attempting to read the words lining the page. “Wait.. say it one more time?” She turned to Freddy, extremely confused. “I'll reread it again. Ehem…” Freddy cleared his throat and scanned the book pages. “To be a good parent, you must always be monitoring your children. If they seem suspicious, then that means they are doing something inherently wrong, and 110% dangerous. If they keep secrets, or hide things from you, they are going to rebel sooner or later. We don’t want that, do we?” Freddy paused and waited for Roxy’s response. “We…don’t?” Freddy gave her an encouraging look, and continued reading, “All you have to do is remember this simple acronym. A.P.P.L.E. Assess, Prod, Punish, Last chance, and… Execute?” Roxy’s confused expression did not falter, even after a second read.
“Execute? Like kill them?” Her voice started to rise. “Are you saying we have to kill the kids?” Roxy became flustered and angry, attacking Gregory was one thing, a thing he completely deserved, but why would she ever harm Cassie?
“No…” Freddy replied quickly, sensing Roxy’s worriedness. “Perhaps it means to execute the previously stated retribution. Such as, following through with the punishment. Still.. what a strange way to put it.” He trailed off, deep in his own thoughts.
“So.. we have to always watch them, and stop them if they act suspicious in any sort of way? There’s not even any danger at the apartment, aside from that security guard.” She smiled to herself, and Freddy sighed, slightly amused.
“Officer Van-…” he paused. “I mean, Vanessa would never hurt the kids, you know that Roxane.” She scoffed.
“Whatever, just keep reading.” She said irritably and waited for Freddy to continue.
After reading for 20 or so minutes more, they closed the book and tried to figure out what to do next. “Perhaps,” Freddy began, “we should go use our knowledge and test ourselves on what we’ve learned!”
“Alright!” Roxy exclaimed. “Ill deal with Cassie obviously, and you’ll take care of..” she paused and let out a mocking sigh. “Gregory.” Freddy smiled and they went to each of the kids' respective areas in the apartment.
The apartment had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a joint kitchen / living room area. Vanessa’s room was completely off limits, it was where she monitored M.X.E.S and kept an eye on all things that happened at the Pizzaplex. Her walls were a dark grey. The kids bedroom was painted blue, since before Cassie arrived, Gregory had the room all to himself. The room was covered in Gregory’s drawings, mostly of strange and twisted events occurring to Vanny and Freddy respectively. One even depicted a strange rotting corpse in a bunny suit and a huge amalgamation of wires with loose animatronic heads. On Cassie's side of the room was a huge poster of a cartoon she liked and a few Roxane drawings that Gregory had drawn for her. On each of the kids bed’s were a wide array of stuffed animals. Gregory had a Freddy and Sundrop set, while Cassie had a Roxane and Chica pair. A Monty plush sat on the single desk placed in front of Cassie's bed.
Usually, the animatronics would recharge in the living room or rest in the car, which was where they got their main energy supply. Vanessa would go out every week to get a full tank of gas so that the car had enough energy to recharge Freddy and help with some of Roxy’s repairs. Right now she was out of the house, going to pick up groceries. Freddy was in charge while she was gone, and Roxy served as his only way to get anything done, due to the fact he was only a head.
Roxy picked up Freddy and brought him to Gregory, who was typing on his computer in the bedroom. Gregory looked up from his work, somewhat startled by the sudden presence of two robots. He saw Freddy and relaxed his shoulders. He looked up further to Roxy, who growled at him before storming off. He giggled and then returned his attention to Freddy.
“What’s up, Superstar?” Freddy tried to get a better look at the laptop Gregory was typing on. Gregory tensed up once again and clicked a few times, his hands moving swiftly across his laptop.
“Everything ok, Gregory? Why do you look so nervous?” Gregory tried to keep a smile on his face.
“Nothings wrong! I'm just showing you what I'm working on!” He motioned to the screen. It had a huge line of text covering it, and at the top of the tab the document was called, ‘Practice Code’. Nothing seemed too suspicious. Freddy remembered what he had read, and prepared to dig deeper into what was really going on.
“Is this for the lessons Vanessa has been giving you, Superstar?” Gregory loosened a bit, and then nodded.
“She wants me to help her when she goes to the Plex next, I have to be able to stay in the car while she goes and assess the M.X.E.S. module. It’s a lot to learn, even if I had been really good at coding before she gave me lessons.” Freddy looked over the page again, it was a simple code line that was mainly used for a debug command. Gregory may have only been experienced in coding games and more so hacking, but he was still exceptional at learning new things. “It looks great,Superstar. I'm sure Vanessa will be proud of your work.”
Gregory smiled, tilted his head and turned the laptop back towards him. “Thanks, Freddy.” He quickly tapped a few more times on his mousepad before his face turned stone cold and he began to type. What was he really working on?
__ __ __
Roxy knocked on the bathroom door. “Come in!” said Cassie, who had her hands full of makeup brushes and pallets. “Cassie? What are you doing?” Cassie turned her head away from the door, obviously hiding something. “No! Don’t look!” The bathroom was a disaster. Different colors of eyeshadow were sprawled across the mirror and counter, chunks of lipstick and loose blush were caked in the sink, somewhat clogging the drain.
“Cassie.” Roxy said sternly “I cannot see anyway.” A silence followed.
“Oh. Right.” Cassie said, sheepishly turning around to face her. Roxy felt around the bathroom, trying to find a wall to lean up against. Her hands found a towel, which she placed on the floor for her to sit on, so her rough wires and exterior wouldn’t scratch the tiles or wall.
“What’s wrong? Explain to me what you're even doing, I can only hear so much.” Cassie sighed and sat next to Roxy.
“I was putting makeup on. Again. But…” She was quiet for a second before she, unprompted, started to cry. “It looks nothing like how I wanted.” She sniffed. Roxy, startled, tried to remember the A.P.P.L.E. acronym from earlier. Her heart swelled with confidence, she was going to make everything perfect.
“So uh… to ASSESS the situation better, why don’t you explain exactly what happened.” Wow.. Roxy thought to herself, I really am the best! If she kept up at this pace with this much ease, she wouldn’t even have to get to the end of the acronym.
Cassie wiped her face, her sleeve becoming stained with mascara and eyeshadow. “Okay… it all started when I found a picture of Vanessa in her nightstand drawer.”
__ __ __
Freddy had assessed the situation, but now he had to dig deeper. “Uh.. Gregory..” He started, trying to organize his thoughts. “I think that I should go through your laptop.” Gregory stopped typing, staring blankly into his computer.
“Huh.” Gregory slowly turned his head to meet Freddy, his face completely deadpan. “What do you mean? You just wanna look at the outside?” Sweat beads formed on Gregory’s forehead.
“No, I mean I want to go THROUGH your computer.” Nothing. Gregory did not change his facial formation. “Such as the files and documents. Is that a problem?” Freddy hadn’t seen Gregory so dogdey since he had taken Roxy’s eyes, he must be hiding something for sure.
Freddy opened a hatch under his ear, and a usb drive slowly whirred out. Freddy motioned to the laptop with his eyes, waiting for the computer to be plugged in.
“I…uh… I don’t want to.” Gregory said, voice wavering. “My laptop is for me and me only.” Freddy’s eyes widened. Backlash. Gregory had always been stubborn, but he usually obeyed what Freddy asked of him. He thought back to the next letter from the book. Punish. This was going to be difficult.
“Gregory, I don’t want to force you to do this, but I think its in your best interest if I go through everything on your laptop. It’s for your safety. I don’t want to take your laptop from you, but you can’t just outright say no. I’m in charge, remember?”
Gregory drew his eyebrows together, his stone cold gaze becoming dagger-like. “How are you gonna take it from me?” He said defensively, holding the laptop close to his chest. “You don’t even have arms to grab it with!”
Freddy gasped and let his eyes go wide. “What a rude thing to say! Superstar. This is your LAST CHANCE. Plug the computer in, or I'll call Vanessa and tell her how you’ve been behaving. This is your final warning.”
Gregory’s face dropped a little. He was so looking forward to going to the Plex with Vanessa. He wanted nothing more than to help, to fix all the hurt he caused when he was originally trapped at the mall. Instead of feeling scared or sad though, Gregory got angry.
__ __ __
Roxy couldn’t believe what she just heard. “You went in Vanessa’s room?? Why were you in there?” As much as Roxy disliked her former security guard, she understood wanting to have her own space.
After all, it was in her bedroom that Roxy was able to get all her feelings out, no matter how messy they were.
What else might have Cassie seen in her room? Disturbing files? Secrets? What if Cassie was fascinated with Vanessa now, and she didn’t like Roxy anymore? Roxy immediately spearheaded herself deeper.
“I don’t know… we were talking and she said something about…uhh…” She got a bit nervous about mentioning the Vanni mask, so she quickly found an alternative. “about … makeup! Yeah… makeup.” She managed to catch herself. “So I wanted to see what other makeup stuff I could find in there. But I didn’t find much, just this photo of Ness with a girl. They look around the same age.” She pulled out the photo. “They’re holding hands and leaning next to each other. I really liked the girl’s makeup, so I wanted to surprise Ness with a re-do of it myself. But, I'm not very good, and I made a mess in the bathroom. She’s been working hard at the Plex to make things right, I just wanted to do something nice for her.” She had stopped crying, but looked genuinely sad.
Roxy sat quietly with Cassie for a moment. Her thoughts quickly jumped around. Screw this stupid system. She doesn’t need a strict parent. She needs a good role model. She needs advice. Roxy pulled Cassie's hand away from her face, where she had continued to rub her makeup off.
“Listen Cassie. I understand that you wanted to do something nice for…Vanessa. But you know better than to go snooping around. You might have found something Vanessa didn’t want you to see. Something about her past she would rather keep away. I’m sure she would’ve loved to see your makeup anyway, but how about doing something else nice for her instead?” Cassie looked up at Roxy, with a look of thanks and relief.
“Okay. What could I do for her then? I don’t know what she likes to eat, otherwise we could make her something. Or maybe she would like a drawing!” Roxy looked deep in thought too, but suddenly a loud noise came from the bedroom.
“What was that?” Cassie asked. Roxy peered her head out the door, it seemed to be an argument. She stood up.
“Let’s go see… stay behind me okay?” Cassie nodded and helped Roxy up, pulling her up by her hand.
“Superstar! I warned you! I have to EXECUTE this procedure!” Freddy had extended the usb drive all the way to the computer, clicking it into place and locking it. Gregory tried to pull the USB out, tugging as hard as he could.
“No! You can’t see what’s on here! It’s MY laptop! Let go!!” Roxy burst through the door, slamming it against the wall, startling not only her but everyone else. The sounds of Gregory trying to pull his computer away from Freddy did not waver or stop.
“What is going on here!? You're scaring Cassie!” Cassie snuck around Roxy’s legs, diving between them and bolting into the room. She came between the two and tried to pull Gregory’s hands away from the computer.
“Gregory! What are you doing? Just let go!” She tugged his hands away, and pushed him away from the laptop. He stumbled a bit, running into his bed before tripping and falling back.
“Gregory! Are you okay?” Freddy called out, worried. Cassie placed the computer next to Freddy on the desk, and went to help Gregory.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to push you that far. You just wouldn’t let go!” Gregory shook his head and stood up.
“It’s not your fault Cassie, I got carried away.” He turned to Freddy, who while looking concerned also looked somewhat far away. He was analyzing the files.
“Freddy, its not what it looks like.” He quickly turned to Cassie, bracing for impact. His eyes grew wide and worried, and he mouthed out words to help get his point across. She in turn looked very worried.
“What happened? Someone tell me what’s going on?” Roxy was tapping the doorframe, trying to find a safe space to stand where she wouldn’t knock anything over.
Freddy had finished. He blinked a few times before removing the USB from the laptop, pulling it out with force. “Gregory..” His eyes readjusted into place, pinning his focus on Gregory. “Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
The laptop screen was covered in blueprints. There were photos of each animatronic, not just Roxy and Freddy, in each corner of the screen. Detailed instructions and directions were typed along the edges.
Cassie pulled Roxy into the room, and then returned to Gregory’s side.
“Sigh.. It was supposed to be a surprise, Freddy.” Cassie said guiltily. “We were working so hard to get it all done for you, before you caught on.” Gregory shuffled beside her.
“I wanted to find some way to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I feel like I always get everyone into trouble, and never get them out. I was trying to figure out a way to save all the other animatronics from the PizzaPlex, so that Ness and I could repair their AI and hardware. So that they could be free from the virus.” He turned to his side.
“Cassie was helping me out, since she only got out of the Plex recently. She said she found someone, another animatronic, in a hidden room. She said she found Bonnie.”
Freddy was in shock. He felt so much relief over what he found, but so much distrust, too. Bonnie? It had been forever since he had heard someone else talk about him. Not even Roxy mentioned him anymore.
“Is this true, Cassie?” Roxy said from behind her. She looked so hopeful.
“Yeah.. we were going to get Chica first, then Sun— I mean… Eclipse, and Monty.”
“That’s why Vanessa has been at the Plex so much recently, she’s been trying to find the Mimic, and keep it away while I go in to lure everyone out. Once everyone was fixed, then Monty could go get Bonnie from behind the bowling alley. We were going to save everyone. And fix them. Fix you and Roxy too.”
“Superstar…this..” Freddy tried to find the words. “Thank you. I’m sorry for trying to invade your personal space. I should have never trusted that book. ” Gregory looked a bit surprised.
“What book?” He said, narrowing his eyebrows.
— — — —
Pulling the book up on her lap, Cassie read the cover. “A Guide to Parenting, by Fazbear Entertainment.” Her nose scrunched. “The Fazbear company wrote this?” She flipped through the pages, landing on the one Roxy and Freddy had been reading.
Gregory leaned in closer, resting his hand on Cassies shoulder. “The A.P.P.L.E. acronym, huh? Yeah, I remember seeing this before.” He flipped ahead a couple of pages, scanning the letters that lined them. “This is what they train all their employees off of, majority of them are parents or take care of kids majority of the day, so they're required to read this book. I always thought the ending of it was weirdly violent?” He leaned in closer, seeming to be looking for something. “Still, standard Fazbear Entertainment behavior.”
After flipping through a few pages more, the group landed on a section with detailed spring lock suit failure instructions, including a drawing that was painted on the pages. It was very gorey, to say the least. “Ohhh kay.” Cassie slammed the book shut, somewhat bewildered. “Enough of that.”
Gregory took the book from her, placing it on the coffee table. “Yeah, I don’t think that is the book that anyone should base their parenting off of.” Gregory said with a smile. His gaze ever so slightly shifted over to Freddy. Cassie slid off of the armchair and brushed off her shorts, turning to face the group.
“I think we should clean up before Ness gets home. There’s nothing better than coming home to a clean house.” She fiddled with the cuff of her shirt, someone complacent. “Plus…I don’t think she’ll like how much of a mess I made in the bathroom.” She giggled.
After cleaning up the bathroom and the rest of the house, Cassie and Gregory were sent to their rooms.
Even though everything had still worked out, they couldn’t get off scot-free. They each broke a rule, and for that they would be grounded for a week.
Their spirits were still high though, and when Ness got home, she went to her room to find a book on her bed. There was a loose paper sticking out, its edges just barely visible. She opened the book to the outstretching paper.
It was a drawing, done by Gregory. It was of Gregory and Cassie, holding a red heart with pink letters inside that said; “Thanks! :)” underneath, text in scratchy black pen wrote, (PS. GET RID OF THIS BOOK! NOT SAFE FOR THE KIDS!) that was obviously from Freddy, written by Roxy judging from the incomprehensible handwriting.
She pulled the drawing out of the book, when another paper fell out from behind it. It was a polaroid. She bent down to pick it up, flipping it over. The photo was of her and Lia. Before Vanny. Her hand glazed over the image, such a distant memory in her mind. She wished so badly to talk to Lia again, but there was no way Lia would want to. Dropping the oddly twisted book in her small mesh garbage can, she smiled to herself, put the drawing and photo on her desk, and went out to make dinner.

SO! GLITCHTRAPPED AU IDEA! The thought came to me when i was listening to the song The Bidding by Chonny Jash, which is, a very good song btw and i think it works well with this idea, give it a listen >:)
youtube
So in this AU, i'd like to think that GGY, or Dr Rabbit collected Tony and Cassie like a bunch of lil shiny Pokemon and glitchtrapped them. As a last attempt to escape the virus's control, the two of them both try to escape, which leads to Tony getting shanked and thrown away somewhere and Cassie thrown down an elevator as an attempt to keep them from escaping the Pizzaplex. (Dr Rabbit did all of this, the lil shit..) After all of this, Cassie and Tony are locked in a deep slumber before suddenly they wake up in the ruined Pizzaplex, they have no memory whatsoever after having their brains scrambled by Glitchtrap during their eepy time, they do not remember where they came from or who the other is, but they do remember how GGY proceeded to trap them down there in the dark for such a long time, fueling the resentment that had already been there, to begin with. Cassie ended up waking up in the rubble where the elevator had crashed, she was seriously injured but then Tony came along and offered to help her, even though he was also critically injured. The two of them are just kind of wandering through the abandoned Pizzaplex, thoroughly confused until they start recounting the story of how Gregory attacked them both and sent them down here to rot. (A sidenote, i'd like to think that them and GGY worked together for a very short time before they made their escape, they didn't really do much and the only reason that they were kept glitchtrapped is because GGY had been complaining that he was lonely, so Glitchtrap kinda went here why don't you go pick out a few pets at the store and come back to me on that LMAO) So now they are very pissed and are trying to heal and regain their strength as quickly as possible so that they can go after him, they wanted revenge for the pain he'd caused them both, their plan was to kill him, which is something they probably wouldn't typically come to, but their brains had been so scrambled by the virus and fueled by Glitchtrap's sudden anger towards Gregory, it seemed like the only reasonable thing they could do. They honestly don't even realize Glitchtrap is there sometimes, but he's always watching and listening, and everything he feels is felt by them as well. Sometimes he will..speak to them in a way, but its kind of unintelligible. It was like his influence had been weakened somehow. But anyways, in the outside world, (Most of this is all post security breach) Gregory has been freed from the virus's control and is living with Vanessa and Freddy, he begins to remember how he potentially sent his best friends to their demise and he's like "Oh shit i should go see-" And with Vanessa's help, they go back to the shambleplex and begin to search. He wants to free them, but Cassie and Tony don't see him as anything besides the enemy now. They are both incredibly furious at him and are constantly trying to kill him the entire time he's there. Now i didn't necessarily think this part through yet, but i was thinking that he would have to avoid them both and escape their constant attacks and try to play the specific games to individually set them free, but this could change..
I think Tony would be the more quiet and calculated one out of the two, he is constantly analyzing every situation and carefully watching, waiting, and listening. I think he'd be good at traps and such because he'd be good at figuring out exactly where Gregory is going to be. (I'd also like to think that he's somewhat good with the computers, but not as good as Gregory was) Now Cassie is..a bit of a mess, she has a bit of a limp after the whole elevator incident but this doesn't stop her anger. She is unbelievably furious with Gregory over his betrayal, she'd thought they were best friends after her birthday party, but he had hurt her and proved her wrong. She is more likely to just chase after him with a weapon and just scream the entire time to get the anger out, she isn't as graceful but she's still pretty strong and quick despite everything.
I also think that they'd have rabbit suits..i need to design those :) I also also think that whenever Gregory gets close, they can absolutely feel his presence, mostly because they are in pain whenever he's nearby, emotionally and physically. They get so angry that it hurts and it only makes them want to hurt him more. I do think that when they get set free and get told the truth, they'll just feel...empty and lost, because the only thing holding them together was the mutual hatred for Gregory, and now they don't have that. They have no memory of the past or where their family and friends are (Ellis would probably break down crying if he saw them both again though, its been almost a year since they went missing) Gregory would totally bully Vanessa to have them live with him for the time being and she would reluctantly agree because what else is she gonna do??
But yes..this is my idea, what do you guys think? 👀 id love to write it as a story but i also have a bunch of other stuff that im procrastinating on unfortunately so maybe that isnt the smartest idea AGSJSM Booping some of the people who commented here.. @o0ogalaxyroseo0o @monsooninamajestic @munchkinbaby08
(If you have any questions feel free to ask, i like brainstorming :D)

I know Candy Cadet’s story is the plot of RUIN, but hear me out.
It works just as well for Henry and William.
Here is Candy Cadet's full story:
"Now I will tell you a story… About a mother and a little boy who lived alone in a cabin in the dark woods.
There was a monster in the woods, but the mother caught it and kept it locked in the basement.
The monster always made scary noises at night, but the mother would tell the boy not to worry because it could never get out. Then she would sing the boy a lullaby to sleep.
One day, the monster stopped growling and instead, listened and learned the lullaby. The next day when the mother went out to find food, the monster sang the lullaby from the basement.
The little boy heard the lullaby and opened the door."
Obviously this is Cassie, being tricked by The Mimic using Gregory's voice to come to the Pizzaplex.
But...
We can see the mother and son as Henry and Charlotte. The monster from the woods is William.
From what we can tell in the games, Henry and Charlotte live by themselves. There's no Mrs. Emily anywhere and Sammy is only in the books (so we'll leave him out of this).
The mother catching the monster is Henry working with William. The basement is them working together at the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place.
The monster making scary noises would be Charlotte's fear of William. Likely a sense of "stranger danger" or just Charlotte being uneasy around William for whatever reason (prolly him being a child serial killer, but she doesn't know that yet.) Henry would tell Charlotte not to be afraid of William since they worked together. Henry is known to be a workaholic, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for William and Charlotte to get used to each other. Likely William would be hanging around the Emily household a lot.
It would all conclude with Charlotte getting locked out of the Pizza Place. She wouldn't be afraid of seeing William in the alleyway. She would likely believe he would help her get back inside.
And if we think about the movie trailer, we can even be literal with the lullaby. William hums the Toredor March in the Springbonnie outfit. Charlotte probably recognizes that sound from the Pizza Place, and would trust William as he sang that in the alley behind her.

Why does Cassidy talk to Gregory via his old plushie? And what does he tell him?
short answer? to keep him from dying/getting kidnapped.
longer answer? well...
Malhare's a problem. he's effectively 2% of Will's soul, and is Incredibly unhinged and feral. Cassidy’s been torturing the guy in hell, and along with his already Fucked Up mental state, it's no surprise. he's pretty much running on two goals: put his family back together by ANY means necessary (which uh. includes murder), and Killing.
this doesn't mean he's lost his manipulation abilities or his charisma, far from it. William’s always had a knack for attracting lonely and/or abused kids to him like a moth to a flame (how do you think he got Vanessa so easily), which is ironic considering the fact that he's emotionally abusive and controlling as Fuck.
but the biggest problem? Gregory, somehow, despite being adopted, looks a LOT like Cassidy did. even MIKE, the kid's dad, slips up and calls him Cassidy often.
reminder: William’s been stuck in hell, being constantly tortured by the son he murdered. as much as he loves his son (which is very much not reciprocated), he still desires...payback of some sort.
as William sees it, he could kill two birds with one stone: a way to get that payback...and a way of being one step closer to fixing his family (despite how badly this would mentally destroy Mike).
of course...he could always kidnap the kid and Also get him into murder. which isn't Great...but it's the lesser of two evils.
unfortunately, William Was Not Being Too Subtle About Still Being Connected To The Living World. Cassidy noticed. Charlie noticed. and neither of them liked it. while Charlie went to protect her niece (Cassie), Cassidy went to protect his nephew (Greg).
Cassidy also talks to him 'cause Greg is lonely. he doesn't have a lot of friends outside of his family, Cassie, and Sammy, mostly since he's kind of a gremlin. a troublemaker, if you will. and Cass wants to connect with the nephew he never got to meet when he was alive.
now, as for what he says, it depends!
you see, the Fredbear plush is only able to "talk" because of a walkie-talkie that Mike put inside of it to communicate with Cassidy when he was outside of the house. and even then, it's been YEARS since Mike's used it. the batteries in there are Long dead, so either way, there's no logical way it should be speaking.
so, whenever he's alone with Gregory, like in his room or something, is when they talk the most. also in Greg's dreams, but that's a whole other conversation. Cassidy usually asks him how his day was, how school's going, if he's feeling alright. y'know, questions that Mike used to ask him through the plushie. except the school one, obviously, since Cass never went to public school. but Cass never tells Greg his name. Greg just calls him Fredbear because of this.
however...fun fact! in the Rewrite's version of Security Breach, Cassidy speaking through the Fredbear plush is an important mechanic :)
Malhare can stalk Gregory by looking through the eyes of animatronics and cameras, and Vanessa will, similarly, either follows Gregory into rooms or will wait in the shadows of rooms. Malhare will alert Vanny to wherever Gregory is.
now, Cassidy, whenever he and Gregory are in public but he needs to warn him about something or just get his attention, will try to say things that Sound like something a normal toy would say, or will say something inconspicuous.
in Security Breach, along with dropping some Lore in occasional dialogue, here are some warnings and what they mean:
"Cameras": Malhare is using the camera in this room. leave before Vanny gets there.
"Watching": Malhare is watching through the eyes of an animatronic. leave to avoid Vanny.
"Hello, friend!": Vanny is in the room you're entering. leave immediately.
"Hide and Seek!": Vanny is coming to the room. hide or leave immediately.
"Get away!": you are being chased. run.
"It’s dark..." and/or "I'm scared!": room has suddenly gone dark. hide or run immediately.

Welcome, here we have Ram back at it again with another silly AU idea :D
So... Dunno if y'all know this, but I absolutely LOVE angst and heartbreak, so here's one of those.
Y/N was the Daycare Attendants designated mechanic and handler, the three having grown a strong bond and being rather fond of each other. When Y/n started out, they were rather weary of the two with their extravagant personalities, and they were untrusting of the new handler. Overtime, however, Sun and Moon grew fond of Y/n, while Y/n had come to care for them as they do. Eventually, this friendship grew into something more. For the trio, life was good!! They had each other to rely on, and be there in times of need, someone to kiss and hold.
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever in this world, especially the good.
When the virus took over Moon, it took quite a few of his memories as well. Sun, although not appearing like it, was affected by the virus too, having not many, but still a good handful of his memories corrupted and his behavior towards staff and adults in general becoming much colder, more rude and sarcastic. Sun and Moon didn't remember the romantic relationship they had with their handler, but they do recall the friendship they shared. Of course, Y/N wasn't completely freed of the effect the virus had on their partner; Sun was much more sarcastic and a bit blunt, while when the lights went out, Moon would just completely avoid Y/N. Y/n, of course, wasn't taking it too well. I mean- can you imagine your partners not remembering what they were to you? What you were to them??? Y/N wasn't happy with the situation, but they learned to be more optimistic thanks to Sun and decided to just be glad they were still friends. This could be worse!! Just be happy they still remember you, and that they didn't just completely forget every moment you've had together.
But then the little gremlins known as Gregory and Cassie happened and Y/N's greatest fear had come to fruition. And now Y/N is even MORE depressed!!!! :D
Basically, Cassie had rebooted, and sort of combined Sun and Moon which caused the creation of Eclipse. Y/N went to the burned down building in search of Sun and Moon, only to find Eclipse, cleaning. Y/N was confused, but they assumed it to be a broken Moon considering how dark it is in the plex's ruins. But then they soon realized it wasn't. The being introduced itself as Eclipse, offering a handshake but quickly pulling away when Y/N did nothing but stare with a.. heartbroken?? expression. Y/N convinced Eclipse to leave, and they took the broken animatronic to their house. Y/N fixes Eclipse to the best of their ability, but is unable to fix their code.
Y/N went from "I'm alone, but I'm doing good!" to " I'm with the best people in the universe, and better than ever!!" to "A part of them is gone, but at least their still here." to "Their gone. There is no way to get them back.."

Guess who just had a thought AGAIN
Gregory using an elevator to get somewhere (either by himself or with Freddy) nothing big or anything. Cassie happens to be nearby and gets such a dudden thought that its borderline impossible to turn it down. So she gives in to it and tries to do the same thing to Gregory she thinks he did to her, and tries cutting the elevator with him inside (probably with her Faz-wrench or vanni mask or both) before he can reach his destination.
Regardless if Gregory makes it out alive or not (but lbr he prolly would bc hes like a roach in that sense) Roxy being security, can probably see what happened, and likely be left with the choice of providing the evidence when others investigate it or try to cover up for Cassie by omitting and maybe? even scrubbing the evidence off the system.
Oh this went in different direction to what I was expecting lmao
I thought you were gonna say that Cassie took over the speaker system to say "Gregory... it's me. I think I need to explain a few things. You were never supposed to go to the Pizzaplex. That thing in the sinkhole tricked you. I really don't know what it is but it's been trapped down here a really long time. That MXES security system was designed to keep it hidden, but you shut down the security. Now it's free... It's not your fault. I know you did it for me. To save me... but we can't risk being followed. I'm sorry."
Lights go out. The lift is stuck in place. Maybe it starts going down or suddenly jerks down for a second, and then she just leaves it stuck there so someone else can let them out.
But no okay we're going full on murder route, got it lmao
I feel like Roxy would be the first to respond there given it's a security kind of thing she'd pick up on. She gets there and pauses. For just a second, she's back under the pizzaplex, trying to open the doors of the lift to save Cassie in the darkness, listening out for the thundering footsteps of Mimic in case it comes back...
The space between floors in the main pizzaplex isn't that big, so I don't think the damage would be as severe, especially if they got on at the ground floor and hadn't been gone up very far. Even still, this kind of incident is no joke. There's nothing you can do in these situations but hope and pray. The whole 'lie down on the floor' thing isn't even certain to help. The biggest risk if they don't fall far though, is ironically Freddy as well. If he falls on Gregory? Well... yeah.
If they're both relatively unharmed though, this is maybe a sign that Cassie should probably see a therapist... I mean it's a sign no matter what, but if something serious happens to Gregory, there's probably a lot more to consider there.
If she gives him the monologue and just makes the lift jolt before leaving it stuck between floors though, I can see Gregory yelling to be let out and Roxy or whoever answering like "What's the matter? Do you only like being in Freddy shaped metal boxes, or something?"
You know what? Everyone here needs therapy. I think they deserve it.

This small story: Gregory has a sister named Eleanor. She’s the same age as her, it she has some dark plans for him.
Eleanor: How unfortunate for you three. That thought that you came so close and yet way too far.
*She looks at her guardian*
Eleanor: You heard from Gregory?
Jacob: Not for a couple of months.
Eleanor: I miss him… I need him back.
Jacob: Don’t you think you should let him know the truth?
Cassie: What do you mean the truth. *She asked as her two other friends that she’s been on her side ever since they met each other wanted the answer*
Eleanor: *Giggles* Oh Cassie. This whole time you seriously believed that stopping Gregory would be very over. Know that you three ding dongs are out of the way. I’ll finally get my real plan into motion. First: Gregory needs to see his sister again.
*Cassie, Tony, and Ellis had their eyes widen at the last sentence. Gregory has a sister? Since when? All of them thought Gregory was alone. But he has a sister?*
Tony: You’re his sister? *He asked*
Eleanor: *Nods* Of course. But he doesn’t know that yet. Unfortunately because of that asshat “GGY”; he nearly forgot everything about who he was and his memories of me were erased.
*The three couldn’t believe this. They all thought this was just some girl, but he was the sister of the person they needed to stop*
Eleanor: It’s very foolish of you three to think Gregory is the villain here. You idiot don’t anything of what happened. *She got up to their faces* I do though.
Cassie: What do you mean? If you said that you do know then you also know what Gregory has done! He killed people. Tried to kill me! Destroyed my friends, and hurt his own friends (Vanessa, and Freddy).
Eleanor: *She made a thumbs down at them* Wrong. You don’t the full story. ‘You’re the one that cause Vanessa and Freddy’s deaths’ *She left out that last part*
Ellis: What did you say?
Eleanor: Nothing… nothing. Anyway I think it’s time for me and Jacob to go. While you three are trapped in your little prisons of your new bodies, Gregory has a sister to meet again. Ta ta~
*The three kids screamed at her: Her lies, deceit, and the truth of who she was. She ignored them all. She didn’t care. But Gregory did. She’ll fix that. Once she has him back with her, if he still has trouble because of what those three idiots have done, then she’ll make sure that they don’t exist to him. Even if she had to erase all his memories again. She looked at the heart pendant necklace she wore. It was glowing white. That meant Gregory was on the move.*
*She gave one last look of the house. It was designed for Cassie, Tony and Ellis: To sure that they won’t escape from the house. Now that she transferred their original bodies into little dolls; she won’t have to deal with them anymore*
*Eleanor sat at the front passenger seat of the car. Jacob took the wheel, and drove off to the night. She couldn’t wait for her brother. Now that Vanessa and Freddy are dead. The three kids are now out of the way*
Oo0. Wait do you mean the Eleanor from the books cause that would be even more wild.

Idea from @choco-latte-cake thank you bro
Summary: The world had gone shit for Cassie, and she was angry
Gregory just wants his friend back Vanessa doesn't get paid enough for this

Keeping track of dates and time was useless for Cassie. Nothing was important anymore.
Instead she just counted since big events had happened.
Two years since her dad, her only family, went missing one night after work.
One and a half since she was placed in the system.
One since that night that changed everything
Six months since she met 𝘩𝘪𝘮
Cassie avoids her foster parents as much as she can, existing enough for them not to call the police again but staying her distance.
In good news, she got a job now. At a new location opened by Fazbear Entertainment, Freddy's Carnival. She's heard the adults mumble about some places called "Circus Baby's" but she pays no mind.
At the moment, Cassie was working..kinda. Digging through her bag, she found what she wanted. Tugging on the outfit was the hardest part, the sleeves being difficult like usual but she managed to get them on in the end. Next was the mask, secured firmly to her head after she brushed her curly brown hair out of the way.
Cassie started to walk, her heels clicking against the tile floor of hallway. She saw the glitching green bunny in the side of her vision and rolled her eyes, not needing his reminder of her task. Soon enough, he left, leaving her to her job.
She entered the play area of the Carnival, looking around. She wasn't out of place in her white bunny outfit as everyone here was dressed in a costume of their own. Her eyes landed on a man, possibly in his forties just leaning against a wall on his phone. The man was tall but looked skinny enough to be an easy target.
Now how to get his attention, that was Cassie's dilemma. Her plan was typical but worked like a charm, most the time. Running up to him, she taps his shoulder, feigning panic. "Excuse me sir? I think I've lost my brother, can you help me please?" She asked, acting as helpless as she could.
Startled, the man looked up from his phone, glancing around before his gaze landed on Cassie. "Oh, uhh yeah. I can help" he said awkwardly, standing up fully. "Where did you last see him?" He asked, looking down at her. "I think over here, but I don't want to go alone" Cassie responded in a quiet voice.
Cassie led the man to a hallway to the side, walking into a backroom. "Are..are you sure you saw him in here?" Asked the man in an unsure voice, glancing around. "Yeah, I'm sure" she responded in a assuring voice as they walked into the dark room, the door swinging closed behind them.
The man glanced around once again, not being able to see much though he could hear the click of Cassie's shoes as she walked around him, as if looking for someone. Slipping on her mask, Cassie could see easily again. She grabbed a pair of gloves and a knife, smirking as she walked over to the man. "I don't think he's in here-" He was cut off by the knife the plunged into his back, though before his brain could even react to scream, the knife was pulled from his back and stabbed into his neck twice. As much as he tried to scream, nothing would come out, leaving him helpless.
Leaving the knife in his neck, Cassie pushed the man to teg ground, watching his near lifeless body hit the floor with a thud. "Hmm, that was depressingly easy" She comments, pulling the knife from his neck and slitting his throat ending his pain for once and all. "Now what to do with this.. Oh! I know" She mumbles to herself, dragging the limo body to a corner and stuffing it to the side.
Deciding she'll take care of it later, Cassie hide the body temporarily and snuck out of the employee only room. She only got so far before her head started to pound, causing her to stop in her tracks and hold her head. 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 Cassie think, ignoring the pain and continuing to walk

Happy Halloween!
Do you have any spooky scary day headcannons for our loveable security breach/ruin crew? If so I'd love to hear them!
Happy Halloween to you, too! (Sorry I'm late!) Here are some of my spooky day headcanons!
Glamrock Freddy: He really doesn't like Halloween. He hates being told to scare kids, and he's always reminded of Fazbear Entertainment's dark past when guests dress up like the old animatronics. And the fake blood on people's costumes bring up terrible memories. He does enjoy handing out candy, though.
Glamrock Bonnie: Bonnie really enjoys Halloween! He likes the change of pace in the Pizzaplex, and he loves the spooky vibe. Seeing how clever people get with their costumes is something he always looks forward to! Though since Glitchtrap, the fake blood is really triggering, and he doesn't get to interact much with the guests anymore. But after getting biofuel, he gets to munch on candy with Chica all night!
Glamrock Chica: Costumes! The end of October is just a big costume party and Chica is living for it! And the candy. The candy! She eats more than she hands out, but she loves that she's actually encouraged to eat as much as she wants for Halloween. She also likes to watch horror movies around this time of year!
Roxanne Wolf: Hell yeah, spooky season! Roxy loves the skeletons and ghosts and vampires! Getting to startle guests is also a plus. And seeing Chica dress up in costumes... But damn, when Chica asks to watch horror movies together, Roxy really struggles to hide how scared she is.
Montgomery Gator: Monty looks forward to it every year! He doesn't care about dressing up or the candy. But it's the one time of year when he's praised for being scary. He doesn't have to walk on eggshells around guests, trying not to be too intimidating. Halloween takes the stress off Monty and lets him enjoy his work.
Gregory: He's never gotten the chance to wear decent costumes, if any, but he'll be damned if he missed out on a chance for free candy. And since being taken in by the Glamrocks and Vanessa, he's got a Freddy costume! Which, in Freddy's opinion, makes Halloween worth it. Gregory also loves scaring the guests at the Pizzaplex. He and Monty often team up for a little chaos.
Vanessa: It used to be her favorite holiday! And then she was taken under Glitchtrap's control. And now everyone's costumes remind her of the stupid Vanny outfit she made and wore. She's always worried that one of the people dressed up will be another possessed killer. Gregory's trying to help her heal from the trauma, though, and she has to admit, making candy apples at home is a lot of fun.
Glamrock Helpy: Costumes? Candy? Yay! Helpy loves playing dress up and sharing his sweets with his family. He doesn't recognize the spooky decorations and costumes as "scary". It's just not in his programming. That red stuff on that person's mouth? They must have had a raspberry donut! Oh, but the cookies and pastries with silly faces make him giggle. He doesn't want to eat them, though. They look too fun!
Sun: Eh. They much prefer Easter. It's so bright and fun! But they adore the silly costumes children wear. And decorating the Daycare is always a plus.
Moon: Oh yes, Halloween is right up Moon's alley. The Pizzaplex lights are dimmed, and Moon is encouraged to go out and roam! They love dropping from the ceiling and startling kids before offering them a generous amount of candy from their hat. And they really enjoy decorating the Daycare with Sun.
DJ Music Man: He gets to play spooky music! DJ loves holiday music of all kind, but he only gets to play it at certain times of year. So he's definitely been planning some cool new tunes for Halloween all year! He is ready! And Moon visits him a lot during open hours during Halloween!
Cassie: Yyyyyyyes! Candy and costumes and freaking people out! She always makes crazy costumes out of whatever she has access to. It's more fun to make them than to buy them! And you bet she goes for scary. Spiders and ghouls and all sorts of monsters! But she always comes back to her Roxy costume. And no one will know if she does double rounds in the neighborhood for candy if she wears a different costume...
Patpat: Beep boop beeeep. Beep!
The Mimic: Gregory's never gotten the chance to wear decent costumes, if any, but he'll be damned if he missed out on a chance for free candy. She always makes crazy costumes out of whatever she has access to. It's more fun to make them than to buy them! They love dropping from the ceiling and startling kids-- And you bet she goes for scary.
(Let me know if there are any characters not mentioned who you'd like to see headcanons on!) Thank you for the ask!

I may have figured out FNAF.
(Aka: "Phone Guy and the inherent tragedy of every developed FNAF character.")
Now, this isn't some deep theory post. It's just my observation watching the characters of the series and what happens to them.
FNAF is and always has been, a tragedy. (Everyone already knows this in relation to the ghost kids, but let's look deeper.)
And all this time I've been wanting more character development for my faves, I failed to realize that they already had it. But in the opposite direction as I may have liked.
You see, FNAF characters - every single one of them that even has a character to speak of - goes through a fall arc. Every single one of them (even the few who get rescued in the end, like Vanessa.)
Michael Afton has a fall arc (Bite of 83, and his gradual deterioration in the Sister Location Custom Night)
William Afton has a fall arc (his envy of Henry leads to his downfall, and then leads to himself getting Springlocked and deteriorating physically as well as mentally)
Other characters can have either a physical or mental state of getting worse as the story goes on, but many have both.
The Glamrocks get dirtier - and most of them are broken by the end. Glamrock Freddy survives but by the end, only his head is left.
There are exceptions to this rule - we don't yet know what Steel Wool is going to do with Gregory and Cassie - but for the most part this story is about everyone suffering because of FNAF, even if they start out in a relatively good place at the beginning.
Now to the part I've been waiting to tell.
All of Phone Guy's calls through the three games are about a fall arc. (Yes, even FNAF 3. It's subtle but it's there.)
He starts out as an older teen/young adult who seems really happy and excited to be a part of the Fazbear Experience. Listening to the tapes, you can hear the smile in his voice as he's reading the script.
But then, gradually, he starts smiling less and less. If you listen to the first tape and then the last tape back to back, you'll notice the fall from grace... What started out as a sweet, happy young man turns into a sad man with guilt and trauma. And even though he is telling us to "Remember to Smile!," he no longer puts any effort into even faking a smile by the end.
And it gets worse when you realize that this is someone who is bearing the burden of something he didn't do. People who are too nice often find themselves bearing the burden of other people's actions. And it feels like this is the case here. Phone Guy did not want anyone to get hurt on the job. Whether they actually listened to his tapes or muted him is not clear, but the fact is it would upset him greatly to hear someone got hurt on the job, and bear the guilt of the incidents. Phone Guy is good at hiding his emotions and pretending everything is fine, but as I'm listening close during a deep dive, it's clear his heart is affected by this.
That's not even getting into what William Afton did... Phone Guy has to pretend to be happy and smiley, but he can't help get passive aggressive when he finds out William broke the rules.
And then, listening to the less subtle ways the restaurant broke his heart... He went from a cheerful youngster wanting to work for a company that seemed like a lot of fun, to someone just trying to keep it together for the next person. By FNAF 2, he "succeeded." He's "lucky" because he gets to be paid more as a manager. But FNAF 2 contains probably the worst trauma ever for him... failing to save five children, and then dealing with the guilt. Then, (for whatever reason), he steps down from his previous position to take the night shift. Well, I have an inkling why, but it's dark. Does tumblr still allow us to say it without censoring it? I think the reason is that he's punishing himself for not being able to do more.
And then the FNAF 1 fall arc. This has all led up to the most unconvincing attempt of hiding his emotions we've seen so far. Phone Guy here is nervous. He's frazzled. He knows he's going to die. (But goshdarnit if he isn't going to talk to the nightguard he's training and try to help as much as he can.)
(And I know a lot of what Phone Guy says is just Scott trolling the player, but I can't help love it and want to analyze it nonetheless.)
And how could this be complete if I also don't analyze the trailer line:
"Hello hello? If you're hearing this, you've probably made a very poor career choice!" - If every other instance of Phone Guy lines can be dismissed as not being dark humor, I think this definitely is. But take a moment and consider: who is he really talking about here? The player is not going to have a long career at Freddy's. Nightguards at Freddy's tend to be a short time gig (for whatever reason). Whose job can safely be called a "career" then? It's Phone Guy. He's talking about himself. He regrets working here and he wants to warn you away from the job... And why would the trailer line be cut from the game? It isn't out of character. It's just something Fazbear Ent would not let him get away with saying.
Basically, this is the first instance of the FNAF fall arc, but it's a darned effective one. It's a tragic tale of a man who just wanted to have fun at a place that seemed nostalgic and happy.
