It’s infuriating to travel everywhere by foot. Asgard has horses and ships, and Midgard has cars, boats and planes, but the only transport currently available to Loki is his own two feet. Any use of his magic beyond the basic signature concealment spell he uses would advertise his whereabouts to his pursuers – Heimdall, Thor, Odin – like a fucking beacon. Which would obviously be game over. Not that Loki thinks his adoptive father would kill him for what he’s done ( – though such a sentence might actually be a mercy – ) but the trickster doesn’t doubt that Odin would imprison him, leaving him a sitting duck for Thanos and the punishment sure to follow. All in all, not a viable outcome.

Which leaves him to walk across this damn realm, scurrying from bolt hole to bolt hole like a fox being hunted, or a rat that knows the palace cats are nearby. It would be humiliating, if the god weren’t so focussed on simply surviving. There is no plan this time, no scheme, merely the desperation to keep moving, and the need for his fractured mind and broken body to heal. When that finally happens, if it ever does, the trickster will make a plan.

Dried leaves crunch underfoot as the god comes to an abrupt halt. Between tree trunks, comfortably concealed some distance away, sits the outline of horizontal logs and a low hanging roof. Gaze flicks down his body, over stolen clothes and long, matted hair. Perhaps he can beg – or steal – some aid. Perhaps, out here in the middle of nowhere, his face will not be known. Cautiously, Loki bends his steps towards the cabin.

Thud. One boot makes contact with the lowest step. “Hello?” Thud. And another. “Is anyone here?”. Thud. “I am here to... I need help.” Thud. “I was… lost in the woods. And I… fell.” Slightly lame, as lies go, but hopefully it will do for now.

I think a lot about how Leo’s rescue could have easily ended in him losing a leg as the portal snaps shut on the Krang still clutching the limb, or, alternatively, only having Leo’s right arm make it out, still held dearly in his brother’s hand as the rest of Leo is left behind. (The latter hits even harder, as it directly parallels his future self in the worst of ways.)

I think a lot about how so many things could have gone wrong during the course of the movie with even a little bit of a change, but it really is harrowing how much of a coin-flip the entirety of the Prison Dimension rescue was.

First of all, I don't think anyone refuses to admit Glenn is anything but perfect, and I also don't think anyone excuses his "shitty behaviour," but while you only may have just become aware of this moment, it was first brought to light in 2017, right before Glenn left the show "for good" and has kinda been hashed to death. If you're genuinely asking 'why is no one talking about Glenn's temper tantrums from 8+ years ago,' idk how to answer that question other than: why would we be? It's just not relevant

We know, from set stories and Glenn himself, that Glenn has gone through many ups and downs on the set of Sunny. He's spoken quite a bit about how his attitude has ruined the vibe and created a lot of tension in the writers room and on set before, and it's something he needed Rob to bring to his attention in Season 11 because he couldn't recognise it harmed other people (and that's what led him to realise he needed to walk away). I think it's not, like, a hidden or dismissed aspect of his personality that he's a diva, even today after righting his attitude and returning, he still tends to "method act" to a degree when he's playing Dennis and comes off a certain way

So yes, he's been "exposed" as a brat on set and a little entitled in general, and he's got some questionable views on health, for sure and I think that can make you dislike him and if that's so...that's fine. I don't think anyone in this fandom cares if you do or don't, honestly, but that works both ways.

People who post about Glenn in fond ways aren't going to disclose that they know he's entitled and centrist every time they post anything about him, but whenever something does happen/come out, people do criticise it in the moment. The Podcast brought a lot to light and it seemed like weekly we were scrutinizing something RCG said but, like, there's genuinely nothing Glenn has done in the past year that the fandom has chosen to ignore for the sake of excusing his shitty behaviour...? Are we supposed to rehash dead and buried RCG drama just because it was reposted to a different platform?

I get if you're just learning about him as a person now it can be weird to see most people who are actively talking about him seem to just be stanning him blindly, but that's really not true. The TASP days are just behind us, and Glenn's PR is very strong with his gay whiskey tour front and center (and you're asking me lol).

As to providing you with reasons for stanning him... just search "Glenn Howerton Interview" on Youtube.. or watch this one .. and if you don't get it, you probably just don't like him and that's fine, lol he'll probably get you eventually if you're around long enough

So often in media, when abuse is talked about, the little boys in the household are shown to be combative - the "protector" of the family (an utterly depraved and insane idea). What makes Simon's younger self portrayal so special to me is that he's none of these things as a child. He was scared, timid, because he was just a kid in a horrifying situation. Being a male should not strip you of the right to involuntary responses that come with being abused.

This is not to say that the former example does not exist in the real world, because it very much does - it's just usually the only example of a young boy in an abusive household. Though the themes itself are not pleasant, I am incredibly happy to see representation of the quote-on-quote "softer" side of men who faced abuse growing up.

rewatching the low low price job and noticed that the beer eliot brings to his dad's house is from the bridgeport. he could have just swung by a gas station and grabbed a sixer but he on-purpose carried this one with him from oregon to oklahoma. he wanted so bad to sit down with his dad and get to tell him about the brew pub. maybe he'd think the beer tasted ok, and maybe he'd think eliot turned out ok. and then none of that happened

Just watched Grimm: "Map of the Seven Knights" and I continue to be impressed with just how much this show let Monroe be emotional.

I don't know if people appreciate just how incredibly important it is to see a male identified character emote. It is so necessary to show not only a dude be demonstratively upset with grief and sadness but that Grimm gives absolutely no judgement from any of the other characters toward Monroe for expressing those feelings.

Even when Monroe apologizes, the other characters in the scene are quick to express that it's fine. Because it IS fine. It's absolutely and incredibly fine to sob when seeing your beloved family member murdered in front of you. It's fine to have an emotional reaction to your ex girlfriend giving her life for yours. It's fine to have an emotional reaction to your friend being killed in your house while you were distracted by impulsivity. It's fine to have an emotional reaction to being kidnapped and tortured and threatened with violent death for simply loving your partner. And it's fine to get choked up when trying to express gratitude for being saved from said experience. AND it's fine to have the same reaction to having a flashback that your partner talks you back from.

I hold true that Monroe was and is such an important character for people who society identifies as guys to see. The expectation of being stoic or emotionally constipated or angry over sad is such a powerful thread in the fabric of how a lot of culture views masculinity. Having permission to express emotions is so important. And seeing a character that is incredibly strong and intelligent be validated to express emotions is super heckin' important.

And, as always, Silas delivered those performances in truth and realness. Nothing seemed forced or posed. I truly miss seeing acting like that and wish I could see more of it in genre shows. Or perhaps I'm just currently enamored by my fixation too much to notice it in other media.

At any rate, dudes deserve fuller representation.

Ladies deserve that too but for completely different reasons that I'd need a whole other entry to delve into.

And us nonbinary people? Well, we're getting along with what we've got. Like...3 people. But, you know what, I'll take it.

Bottom line, showing guys that are allowed to have a full range of emotions on screen and in media allows guys in the real world to (hopefully) feel permission to express those emotions in a healthier way. We need healthy emotions to be healthy and safe people. And we need validation and to feel safe expressing them.
