girlbossing too close to the sun.
#art#ive literally just been treating this game as a library simuator#i walk from bookseller to bookseller opening up all of their books#vivecs sermons are either a highlight or the point at which i stop reading#ive been trying to convince the ordinators that imitation is the highest form of flattery but it hasnt been working#let me wear your helmets please theyre so funny..#posting morrowind in 2024 isnt a cry for help but youre not wrong to be concerned.#morrowind#almalexia#vivec#im going to explain the chitin armor give me a moment#so the bonewalker nerevar on the shrines is adorable and it was only after drawing it however many times that i realized#it looked relatively close to a modified chitin armor#and so i modified chitin armor a few times and this was probably the cutest result#i also know i drew almalexia relatively pristine and untouched by years and vivec not so much but my thought process was#vivecs role as if not a favorite then the most accessible divine or the most “hands on” in a manner of speaking#acting in ways visible to the general population or actions explicitly brought to their attention#like not that almalexia isnt doing anything she is#but the dissemination of information regarding that is very different etc etc etc#anyways to a certain extent a god is the face on a shrine or in art or upon a statue or carving#but vivecs presence is interwoven with the geography of vvardenfell especially and his actions and writings with pubished materials#and the arts and culture and customs etc etc etc#so to me the face of a god you know and feel a commonality with or a god that walks alongside you is a face you would recognize#and vivec is already otherworldly looking enough#the simple mark of the years on his skin in some way grounding him in reality felt more right#that and i think the ways in which he and almalexia care about outward appearance are slightly different- they prioritize different things#and the ways they present outward power and their embodiment of their respective attributes share some similarities as they both have that#important preoccupation with physical power and physical strength to a certain degree#oh my god nobody read this i am yapping so bad.#tes

i dont think she would ever be able to actually play morrowind but if she did it would go something like this
>says vivec is a lying malignant narcissist who is never telling the truth and definitely killed nerevar. even though he also admitted it in the 36 sermons and will be quite candid with you
>says the 36 sermons are "fake deep incomprehensible nonsense written by a drugged out narcissist solely put in the game as lore bait for the idiots dumb enough to think there is any value in this garbage and have too much free time on their hands"
>will fail to learn the game mechanics. will call it poor game design and will refuse to even figure out what the hell she is doing wrong. will definately not take short sword as a skill, pick up an iron dagger, run around with no stamina, and fail to be able to hit anything and then say "hit chance has no place in any video game ever and should be removed entirely". would then turn on god mode and never speak about it again. would probably end up using spells but never make custom ones.
>will fail to actually understand the plot entirely. will constantly bitch that there is too much dialogue and "why the fuck do i need to ask so many fucking questions? why do i need to ask for directions? i cant understand anything on this fucking map and there should just be a map marker on a world this fucking big". will fail to understand the bare basics of the plot
>probably would call dagoth ur an alt right youtuber/podcaster who is a closeted gay incel mad nerevar cucked him with a hot redheaded woman. she would be half right that he is an extremist conservative but otherwise not actually explore why he feels this way and what contributes to his ideology or what it says about nerevar.
>scream any time she gets lost and bring up the lack of map markers again. will not actually describe why its so easy to get lost in vvardenfell just say the game is "basically unplayable even with godmode on" and anyone who says they like the game is a lying sack of shit who wants to look pretentious or is a nazi
>i feel like she would unironically apologize for almalexia's behavior and claim the devs and writers just did not understand her character well enough to write her and paint her as a sympathetic person who you shouldnt even have to kill. none of the other tribunal will get this behavior from her, she will just make excuses for almalexia and say if the game was good she would 1. be in the base game and 2. you would be able to team up with her to kill vivec, dagoth ur, and sotha sil and rule morrowind as lesbian wives
>if she doesnt do that she will say something like how almalexia just exists as a cheap hollow dommy mommy evil woman fantasy for villain apologists who love being manipulated and abused because they like glorifying abuse. if she goes this route she will say anyone who likes any of the villains of the game is an shitty villain apologist who gets off on abuse and is a nazi.
>or third option: she doesnt play any of the dlcs and says dlcs are pathetic garbage and if it isnt in the base game it doesnt matter and isnt canon as far as shes concerned
>she would not pick a great house. she would realize halfway through the game you could join one and then decide theyre all terrible pieces of shit and not go into why. will not notice crassius "workplace harassment" curio bc she will not do house hlaalu's stuff.
>will say the giant mushrooms are drug references
>her takes on slavery in the game will be bad. she will think the game is endorsing it and not even find out you can get a quest to break the slaves out.
>will conclude that this game is pretentious nonsense no sane person could ever enjoy it. "it's just a game for alt right basement dwelling losers who want to bring back slavery and hate women and hate enjoying things. take a shower, go outside, and touch grass. if you defend anything in this game you should be put on a terrorist watchlist."
>would have the occasional correct opinion only in minor cases like "scribs are baby"
i can already picture in my head a hypothetical lily orchard morrowind video if you can believe it.

i just got home from work and immediately typed out a 1500 word story of my nerevarine coming back to the temple for the first time in years to yell at vivec about the fact that shes sensing something terrible coming (the oblivion crisis but they dont know that) and them both realizing that they both really cant do anything anymore (people think shes crazy and the ordinators are probably going to try and kill her for heresy, and vivec is completely mortal and bordering on being a prisoner in their own temple at this point) . and deciding that when the time comes vivec and nerevar need to be “killed” so that the dunmer formerly known as vivec, and Sleeps-In-Dust can be free of all the divinity and prophecy bullshit and deal with the consequences their own actions the same as the rest of morrowind.
fascinated enough by this concept that i was briefly possessed by the spirit of someone who writes things
#the notion here is that vivecs disappearance during the oblivion crisis was them just going like 'well bye' and dealing with it#with the rest of the dunmer people as one of them bc they literally could not do anything else by that point#and i just ignore the whole 'the nerevarine went to akavir!!!' thing bc its stupid so in dusty's canon she#kind of fell from grace due to the fact that no one believed that almalexia and sotha sil were dead#the oblivion crisis happened and vivec disappeared and dusty stuck around knowing something ELSE was coming#went to red mountain before it erupted to do something that isnt known for sure but enough people knew she went there#that it became widely known and accepted later on that the nerevarine died in the eruption#but i want to give her a happy-ish anything so like she survives badly burned and also just joins the masses except with nerevar and#the nerevarine dead and buried so shes free to finally just live a life free of all that shit

what are the religious beliefs of your ocs? would they follow the beliefs from their species, the beliefs from the areas around the oblivion crisis, or something else entirely? -☢
xikeel: raised as a shadowscale, the hist and sithis are the two entities she honors. sithis takes some precedence.. unlike the dark brotherhood, shadowscales see sithis a lot less personified, but still more of a ‘god’ than most other argonians do. sees all other gods and daedra as just people with cheat codes.
ned: not religious, just has a list of gods he thinks are alright. likes yffre, mara, jone/jode, and will occasionally invoke them. is strongly of the opinion that gods dont innately deserve worship and expects relationships to gods to be mutually beneficial. ex-boethiah worshipper.
shap: honors the hist and sithis, though they arent considered gods. spirituality is important to him. contemplations/”worship” of sithis involves meditation and small rituals that are worked into a daily routine. doesnt really know or care anything about most other gods.
dusty: not that religious but was brought up around mostly imperials so has some casual belief in the imperial cult nine. is not a fan of gods in general by the time theyve been thru the whole nerevarine thing.
niv: follows the whole bosmeri pantheon, but isnt dogmatic. worshipped azura for a time (casual practice, not cult activity) but that kind of changed after dusty’s experience with the daedra
solvej: brought up following the traditional nordic pantheon. is not the most religious type, but believes in their value and wishes to understand them. drawn particularly to shor and kyne. also resents talos a LOT
kyle: joined the imperial cult after some monks adopted him and became a priest initially as a “fuck you” to his daedric origins. in spite of this, he doesnt like a lot of the nine and is a bad and naughty priest (though his belief is sincere) his charge is stendarr, and he likes kynareth, mara, dibella, and arkay. he HATES akatosh.
imril: parents were dunmer+bosmer refugees from mainland morrowind post red year, and still worshipped the tribunal (in spite of religious upheaval). imril took inspiration from almalexia’s depiction as protector/mother/warrior. wound up a worshipper/champion of meridia up until being given ‘pure’ vampire blood and being shunned by her god. completely abandoned religion after that
