imo everyone who insists that saikis life was perfect and he was a spoiled brat complaining about nothing are just purposefully ignoring and misinterpreting the whole manga simply because they like other characters better and want to make up scenarios to make their fav seem like a precious little victim in every situation

its hard to explain but i see it happen a lot with specifically people who have dedicated accounts for other characters and constantly misattribute every issue to "saikis such a baby, my character has it way worse!" "saiki hurt my babys feelings once so i hate him!" "saikis such a spoiled brat, my baby has a way shittier life and never complains about it!" "saiki hurt my poor precious fav once so hes an abusive monster!"

and said "shittier life" that they "never complain" about is either the persons headcanons (literally made up) or... the character DOES complain about it and the person takes those words at FACE VALUE but ignores everything else, including things that actually HAPPEN right in front of our eyes

why are die hard new vegas fans so angry- like- we all agree that new vegas is written very well.

we all know this. i dont think anybody whos a fallout 4 fan thinks new vegas is trash. even if its not your cup of tea, we all know its well written because obsidian knows what theyre doing.

but fo4 fans are just vibing. we all know its not a *good* game by any means, but its something that makes us happy. i havent personally met anybody who's like "this game is a masterpiece and the best fallout game in the series"- im sure at least one person probably thinks that but i havent personally met em' so like, what about this is deserving a "oh you like fo4? play new vegas. play something good for once" or "you have awful taste" like who hurt you? whats got you so bitter?

i guess what my point really was is- i prefer a piece of media/franchise having a somewhat consistent canon so the fans can do all the twists and AUs as they want instead of the official canon being constantly retconned

i won’t pretend like i didn’t play genshin impact for way too long but like, genuinely, that game has some of the most uninteresting and poorly written characters i’ve ever seen in a game that popular. like, they’re all just so bland and not compelling whatsoever. i could never bring myself to actually care about any of them besides maybe tartaglia. like it just boggles my mind a little bit that this game is so popular and yet its characters are just so boring. how tf do y’all manage

Ok, so, I tried to do this like two times and it took me a while to lay the sketch. I had an idea for what to do--i went to give the series a shot, once i noticed this buddy here is a part of one so i could get better context--and so the idea i had was for making something from his villain days! It appears that Kolt as a villain was very intriguing (at least for me) but I couldn't make a sketch I was satisfied with, so I decided to go more whumpy! I remember a part where Kolt is in his recovery and he remembers when multiple people were watching and mocking him....couldn't get this over my head. Overall, I haven't finished it yet, but Fallen is a great series! They write it so well!
