I wanna ask, what do you mean when a character is a fake *insert colour*? Like you said wandee is a fake blue. What does that mean? And also, according to that logic, he's wearing that blue during that first kiss and I dunno how to feel about that...

@cryingoverweiying, what I mean when I state a character has a "fake color" is that I'm crazy, and I'm quickly losing my mind over fictional characters. But to give you some examples before I get into Wandee's fake blue, I will offer Vegas from KinnPorsche and Jae Young from Semantic Error.

Vegas looks green. He pretends to be a chill dude who is easy going and down-to-earth in front of the main family's bodyguards. Jae Young looks red. He pretends to be an aggressive rascal so he can work Sang Woo's nerves. But we know those are LIES!

Vegas is actually a red devil who has an affinity for torturing people, and Jae Young is really a chill green dude which is why he wasn't showing up for class in the first place. This is why I call their initial colors fake.

I've written a little bit about this in regards to characters changing their colors throughout a series.

So when I write that I believe Dee's blue is a fake color, I mean that I don't think it represents him as a character, and that Dee is pretending to be blue.

Blue Boys are calm, loyal, and passive aka all the things Dee was to Ter for eight years while being in love with him.

But I think Dee was faking it for love. I think the colors are telling us that Dee is actually a Purple Prince who is immature and emotional,

but also encouraging and compassionate.

Because the day after being rejected by Ter and sleeping with Yak, Dee showed up to work in purple.

And he just keeps getting more purple. Purpler? No that's not a word. You understand me though!

But it only happens the more he spends time with Yak.

Since Yak seems to have unleashed Dee's true nature of being childish and arrogant, which are things he never allowed Ter to see.

All these traits would seem negative (emotional, immature, arrogant, childish), but once again, this is only part of who Dee is, and he never actually showed that to the man he was in love with, for eight years! He hid parts of himself behind this fake blue to impress Ter, but with Yak, he can just be himself.

And it's because Yak was his yellow egotistical and energetic self around Dee from the start.

So his openness is contagious.

But this has caused a problem because I don't think Dee is the only one faking a color anymore in this fake relationship.

I wrote before that as much as Yak was picking up Ohm's style to impress Taem, Dee was actually the one to pick out the outfits and the color aligns with Dee's first love.

Brown Boys are wise, stable, and predictable. In fact, they are like the more solid version of Blue Boys.

So it makes sense for a Blue Boy to be with a Brown Boy.

They'd be super stable. They'd be totally truthful. They'd be really reliable. They'd be perfectly predictable. But does that sound like these two?

NO! THEY ARE CHAOTIC LYING TRASH PANDAS!

So I am praying that we see these two not only embrace their true colors once again like Vegas and Jae Young, but for them to embrace the other's color as well, and the only way to do that is through a good old fashion color exchange.

I don't want to see Yak in this fake ass blue or Dee in this light yellow or brown.

I want Yak in purple and Dee in bright yellow because even though I already know it's love since the pink keeps showing up,

I need the colors to tell me there's nothing fake about them or the love they have for each other.

Angel Dust -

- This man gets it to absolutely no degree.

- Like he absolutely has had friends who were untrustworthy and just garbage human beings.

- That being said, this would likely become a conversation after you get him to hang out with your other group of friends. Y'all probably clubbing or going to a bar.

- After awhile you go to use the restroom which leaves him with your garbage other friends.

- Then they start talking to him, trying to get him to agree that you're annoying and whatever other bullshit they try to spout.

- Angel (being the loyal puppy he is) immediately starts to tear your friends a new one for being such asshats. He continues yelling at them until you get out of the bathroom.

- He immediately starts telling you what they said, still glaring at them aggressively. And he is hardcore shocked when you just respond with "It's fine"

- Cause like bitch, no it's not.

- He is definitely very appalled, and ends up dragging you out of there and giving you a slightly aggressive pep talk on your self worth and being worth more than shitty friends.

- in all, he tries to love and support you, but sometimes he's really sure you were dropped on your head as a baby.

Alastor -

- I am being as honest as possible when I say this man most likely has no experience when it comes to this.

- Like he deals with annoying assholes by just plain killing them. There, problem solved.

- You probably brought your friends to the hotel to try and introduce them to everyone, and during this time they seemed sweet as peach cobbler. But Alastor definitely picked up on their hidden intentions.

- After you walk away (Charlie definitely dragged you away to help with something), he sneaks up on them and makes them his newest addition to his radio station. After all, he can't be having people hurting his little pet (I swear this man is a literal red flag, run.)

- When you return he doesn't even really mention it to you, he just tells you your friends "Went home early"

- Safe to say you never saw those friends again.

- In all, probably the most efficient when it came to his approach.

Lucifer -

- As I mentioned in a previous post, Lucifer is definitely a people pleaser. He tries to constantly help people and make excuses for them.

- However, when he sees his loved ones (*cough* you *cough*) being used it's another situation entirely.

- He most likely meets your friends by accident, just walking through the streets of hell with you when you run into them (spending time without you).

- Y'all actually have a really good conversation before you realize you forgot something in the last store you were in and run to go grab it.

- After you leave one of your friends makes a really ill intended joke about you being forgetful, and lets just say that Lucifer did not take that kindly.

- He immediately yells at them for a good couple of minutes, and then leaves to go find you after deciding they were not worth anyone's time.

- He brings up their comments to you and after you just brush them off he doesn't get mad per-say, just really sad that it's happened so much it doesn't even affect you.

- In all, he tries to just keep you busy and away from them as much as possible, because at least you have someone who thinks you're amazing.

This was really relatable while I was writing it, and I just wanted to say if any of y'all are being treated like this by anyone just cut them off. They are not worth your energy and time.

My thoughts of Chapter One: Pt 1 (1-2 and 1-3)

I decide to not include the prologue, since we have that in the official YT in PrettyBusy.

1-2 "The Death of Belial...?" aka what the fuck is this title XD

The story start with us opening our eyes and seeing Sitri and Ppyong kneel

Goddamn!!! Look at that arm- *Cough*

I like that MC was really awe at Sitri and it took Ppyong greeting Satan to snap MC out of it

Now, I was so happy that Ppyong isn't one of those annoying characters. He manage to be right spot of being cute and smart... More that later.

So, of you unlock part 1 of Naberius' comic and part 2 or 3 Leraye's comic. It has said that Ppyong and devils like him are lesser devil.

It finally sink in to MC that Satan is what he said.

And that where MC and Satan is right now is Gehenna

Now, I want to talk about this. So Ppyong only mention the four region and not all seven, which made me wonder why?

I wanted to counter this with, "well technically we do have called hell all does names, is just within different languages XD"

Again... why not mention the other three region?

Also, through out the story you'll see that all these devils are bias for their home region. I see this as like a sports fan screaming their home team XD

Tho, this makes me wonder about characters that weren't originally from the region they are currently staying at. Like Buer and Bathin.

Bathin was originally from Paradise Lost and Buer was from Tartaros.

I think that they'll show more loyalty to the kings instead of the region.

What makes it sad that Bathin's Homescreen dialog.

Next, Satan asked the two where is Belial.

It ends with Sitri telling Satan that he and Belial was ambushed by angels. And both Satan and Sitri think that Belial is dead...

1-3 "Sitri's kiss"

So... Satan is dumb

Hell, Ppyong is the smart one here

But... Sitri is a yes man

And Ppyong is so done with them

This made me love Ppyong, while he can be loyal to Satan, and the nobles, he has his own thoughts.

After this, Ppyong ask who we are.

After getting a little nervous with all eyes on you, Satan answered

This is really important later, that Satan mention our name first rather calling us Son/Daughter of Solomon.

Then, he show Sitri and Ppyong the brand

After getting some... thoughts about Satan and our situation, Satan notice and tease us

Sir, stop!! I'm getting hot and flustered 😳

Then Sitri and Ppyong saw and reacted shock upon seeing the brand

Satan made sure to mention that it was a Seraphim that branded us.

Which... After seeing the other two Seraphim in the event, yet... It's a good idea to mention that its a Seraphim that did this.

Sitri is in disgust upon hearing it and start grinding his teeth like Satan, which is rare. He is mostly calm... Passive aggressive, but calm.

Then he asked why did a Seraph brand us.

As soon as he mention Solomon, Sitri was suddenly happy to the point he was in tears.

He rushed towards us and kissed us either on the lips or cheek it wasn't clear, it only describe the feeling of the kiss.

There was a moment where Sitri was crying and MC can either pushed him away (Who would do that!?!?) Or wipe away his tears.

Then Satan kicked him and yelled

Now, here's my hot take. I think that Sitri didn't do this with Solomon like what he did here with MC, and people would like to bring up that Satan kissed Solomon in that one comic. But that wasn't Satan.

The clothing is different and the horns are different, and this devil is wearing a earring, plus Satan's eye brows are red not the same hair color.

I do see Satan and the others kissed Solomon on the cheek when greeting him, but people saying this is Satan is wrong.

And the story ends with Ppyong asking Sitri why he kissed MC and he's responds is.

Now... I could admit that maybe Sitri did have feelings for Solomon, but I see that as a one sided love turned into (unrequired love) thing and he knew that he is just happy that he can see Solomon.

Tho that's all speculation. And seeing that this is a Otome game, I'm not holding my breath.

However, I'm hoping on a Sitri arc where he stops calling MC as Solomon when he can finally move one. Maybe in the future.

Hi! I saw the post with your DLC thoughts (reblog from your main), and... girl, you're just reading my mind. Once again I'm just glad to be not alone in this. All so true... I've been greatly inspired by this game and the original lore, too. And became really dissappointed with the DLC. Yes, there are nice lore bits (on Marika and some others), new characters... Messmer, after all... But the main story looks like just a late April fool's joke.

I'm especially sad over what they did to Mohg. Agreed with you, and someone had to say this! Yeah, him being a victim makes no sense. Maybe, also fanservice and a joke for all those making dirty jokes about him... But it's so unreasonable. I too think it was the Formless Mother all along.

And Ansbach. Still need more thoughts on Ansbach, some people tend to like how reasonable and sane he looks... But what we get is his POV, his opinions, and he's still a devout follower.

That 'beat the allegations' make my eye twitch, too. I like Mohg pretty much, but let he stay a villain in all his viullanous glory, not the victim.

Must also say, I loved that angsty Mohg&Miq fiq you've illustrated once (with deformed Miq hatched from his cocoon and Mohgwyn dynasty succeeding), your art made me start reading it (still need to finish it lol). So if you make more art after all, that will be great.

Yeah, I’ve talked to a number of people now dissatisfied with the DLC main story, it’s just so disconnected from what they set up in the base game. It’s a shame too after they made such a beautiful world and even gave us more on Trina, who has a lovely design… but the stuff I was most excited for was Mohg and Miquella, and they got hit the worst.

I swear people are just latching on to whatever excuse they can to avoid the implications of how Mohg violated Miq’s body, even though the charm isn’t complete mind control… he still had the blood cult and found the Mother, and Miq was trying to ward off Outer Gods, not get tangled up in them like what Mohg was trying to do

I don’t know why people act like Ansbach is some chill and good person, he’s still part of the BLOOD CULT. And we’ve seen through the sanguine nobles and even Mohg himself that the dynasty values elegance and refinement (look how they dress, and their swordplay, and how Mohg greets you, Ansbach’s incantation even points out how unusual it is for being so aggressive) so I don’t think it’s that surprising that he would be polite. Either way, he’s loyal to his lord so of course he’d focus on wrongs against him instead of anything Mohg was doing to Miq.

Yeah, Mohg is great because of his past leading to a warped sense of love, that results in him doing such horrific things, taking that away from him makes him so much more boring, why would people even want not to have the implied sexual abuse (or parallel to it)? That too was a fascinating part of his character.

Oh, Divine Spectacle? It’s a favorite of mine, I love looking at a possibility where Mohg’s goals succeed and it’s so well written, I’m glad my art could get someone to read it, that’s one of the many reasons I like to illustrate fics! I think I will still keep drawing them, even if it’s just out of spite for people trying to deny his abuse of Miq, and also there are many good fics I’d like to draw for too

For the character ask game, please could you do Ness?

Oh absolutely, I'm already one step away from writing a Ness manifesto!

I love Ness so much. His design right away- dead behind the eyes, soft, and something about him coming through as small despite being a pro football player. With everything from chapter 361.

2. That he got into football off the back of wanting to believe in everyday magic. It's cute.

3. It's not about him, but I hate the position he's sitting in of being blindly loyal to Kaiser. I hope he gets to make more friends.

4. He seems like someone misplaced a Dangan Ronpa character, but he deserves better. My first fandom was Shaman King and I think he'd be a great character in that.

5. Both "Fast Car" by Tracey Chapman and "Would?" by Alice in Chains.

6. AHAHAHAHA WOW OK. Ness is the other character in Blue Lock I look at and go oh no, same. We both attach ourselves easily to people and can't tell that they don't always have our best interests at heart.

7. Blue Lock fans are really good at writing Ness' unhinged responses to others, especially in relation to Kaiser. I don't think he's above putting thumbtacks in Isagi's cleats.

8. The fandom can have a habit of going to extremes with him - either making him completely soft-pure-innocent, or making him aggressively unhinged to the point he's unrecognisable. Yes, he's been heavily manipulated from being isolated and daydreaming, but he's still had all those other interactions with other characters- he still sabotages and threatens for the sake of someone else.

9. Probably couldn't be roommates with him. One of us would fly off the handle for a small reason and it'd come crumbling down. Also, two people prone to attaching in unhealthy relationships are probably a housemate match in hell.

10. Absolutely friends though! We're both the kind of weirdos who'd get into spooky LARP, make up fantasy worlds and infodump about witchcraft history while kicking a ball around.

11. Ness is very much not my type of partner! I couldn't handle someone idolising me, or tolerate Kaiser being a factor.

12. He's still an avid reader, and will devour both romantic fantasy and magical realism fiction. He wants to visit Disneyland with friends, particularly Kaiser. Also I'm a BPD Ness truther.

13. While :> makes me think of him, I think he'd use ❤️ a lot!

14. He's a dark academica girlie, but not the grey-beige kind. He's the intersection of the nerd-goth axis. Dark academia at Halloween.

15. I like Kainess because it's radioactive levels of toxic. I think he needs to be on his own and have friends before he needs a relationship, really, but I think Kurona/Ness is cute (+ I read a fic where Hiori was involved too). Nanase/Ness could be cute too?

16. There isn't a Ness ship I don't like. There isn't really much for him beyond Kaiser, Isagi and Kurona!

17. Isagi/Ness. It's fine I guess? I just wouldn't read it. It'd be cool if they became friends though.

18. Ness doesn't really have anything in the way of other relationships in canon, and the one he does have... ooft no, too relatable.

19. I don't dislike it, I think it's great in the story, but how his relationship with Kaiser is makes me so sad.

20. Nanase! Give Ness an emotional support Nanase! I think he'd be good friends with Kurona and Hiori too... maybe even Bachira. Add him to the Just Little Guys gang. Especially because I don't think Hiori would tolerate him exploding, but handle it well.

21. He's fun to write when you explore his interests outside of football! I like to imagine how he'd dress, decorate his space, and how football is part of it but not the same as characters like Barou or Isagi where football is football- with Ness, it's part of his daydreaming and attempts to connect with the world around him in a whimsical way. Sometimes when I write him I feel like I focus on him being mentally ill that it clouds writing everything else when they should all actually be interacting together.

22. My fic likes & dislikes are the same as my answers to how I feel about his fandom interpretation!

23. The panel where he's smiling at Kaiser in the shower. Did it ever actually happen? Who knows.

24. Mikan Tsumiki from Dangan Ronpa. Kaiser is just Junko Enoshima. Trust me on this one.

25. I thought he was cute and absolutely unhinged. Now it's sort of the same but I think he deserves a blanket, a hug and a big pretzel.

26. I truly hope Ness realises his worth and Kaiser has to come to terms with losing him!

Not really a Miraculous Ladybug fun, but looking in and the biggest thing I'm seeing fans complain about is that the show reads like a comic in that it just can't keep its lore straight.

The second biggest complaint I've seen was ML dropping Chloe's redemption arc

Oh boy you should see the objectively racist disaster of the comics they DID have, trust me turning it onto a comic wouldn’t solve a thing so long as they’re the ones writing them

But yeah, ML does indeed have a problem with keeping its lore straight and avoiding retcons; they latch on to the status quo so much that any progression before season 5 is pretty much undone by the end of the episode it occurs in, and maybe remembered in a later episode (and only that episode in particular) if it has relevance to that new plotline

The show basically operates on unique lore every individual episode, with Miraculous powers being tweaked, rules of the game being altered rather than expanded on, etc. The first one I can think of off the top of my head is the idea that the Rooster Miraculous suddenly has a lot of previously unstated constraints that weren’t in effect before - a retcon on its own, but it included the constraint that Miraculouses can’t copy the power of other Miraculouses, a constraint that the Butterfly and Peacock frequently contradict in the show both before and after this point

And as for Chloé, hoo boy… throughout season 1, Chloé was the stereotypical spoilt rich brat who’d call her daddy to help her fix whatever was bothering her, and she’d exploit this to harass and bully others. But in season 2, she begins to have some character development, both in that we meet her arguably emotionally abusive mother and Chloé finds a lost Miraculous, the latter of which being what kicks off a slow but steady redemption arc where she does indeed show signs of improvement both in and out of the mask; she’s loyal to Ladybug, she can work in a team when she puts her mind to it, she grows a little closer to Sabrina, etc. She’s still far from perfect, but even other characters acknowledge that the improvement is there

And then the season 3 finale basically erases all of that because Chloé is manipulated by Hawkmoth into willingly accepting an akuma, offering her the Bee Miraculous and using her parents as hostages in order to do so. The manipulation isn’t really registered by the writers, or maybe just not cared for, because regardless it’s seen as a full-on regression and betrayal that Chloé is totally all down for on her own. For the next two seasons, Chloé regresses way past her original season 1 levels of harm, and there are a lot of retcons to her relationships with others; suddenly she no longer cares about her dad, Sabrina or Adrien, despite her always caring about them even from the first episode, even if she doesn’t always show it in the clearest ways. Fans feel cheated by it, but Thomas Austruc, the show’s creator, has taken to Xitter to aggressively shut down all the fans implying that Chloé ever had a redemption arc whatsoever

But TA’s Xitter posts are a whole other story, and the Chloé situation beyond this is yet another long one I won’t get into here. But yeah, a lot of fans feel very cheated by the sudden drop of the redemption arc and TA arguing that it was never there to begin with and that fans were deluding themselves certainly hasn’t helped with that. If he wanted a damnation arc, the fall from grace had to be better written than just a largely sudden drop of her newly found morals and a child being blackmailed by the terrorist who has her parents hostage isn’t a compelling villain arc if the point of it is to prove that she was always bad and never good

I could go on and on about Miraculous Ladybug’s writing issues

I know we all love our boy but let's face it, there's no "good" characters in this movie so N's Gonna be Pelle I'm so sorry. He's seemingly kind, cares about uzis problems really makes her feel like hes listening and there to comfort her. He also just so happens to be in love with uzi and accidentally leads her boyfriend and his friends to an insane cult where everyone except uzi dies and she becomes part of the cult... whoopsies ^^,(Maybe n would think he's doing the right thing for uzi idk)

Thad is gonna be Christian. Again I'm so sorry to Thad fans and especially to anyone who ships him with uzi but I can't really see Thad as being what uzi would need in a partner. In this au, thads a bit of an airhead and genuienly forgets things which frustrates Uzi, especially when they become big things like birthdays and anniversaries. He also thinks shes overreacting to most of the time, shes kinda clingy, and really they just want to break up with eachother :T

Josh is Doll. She's very focused on the cult itself to the point where she gives up her morals and humanity in the quest for knowledge. She's also very aware of the issues between Thad and uzi but quite frankly doesn't care enough to do or say anything. She's just her for her thesis man =\

Lizzy is Mark. I don't have much of a reason for this one. She wants Thad to break up with uzi because she doesn't like her? Idk she doesn't do much in the story besides disrespect the cult which I feel fits her character. the misogyny not so much so uh yeah that would get cut I think

That's it for the main group!

Next, V is Ingimar. HA HA that's right the cultists are gonna be the disassemblers and absolute solver users >:D Anyway she's aggressive towards N because he brought a lot more and "better" people for the cult than she did. Aka he had a better hunt and V WILL be holding a grudge till she dies

Connie and Simon are Rebecca and Darren because I said so. Moving on

J is ulf. Just like in the show, J is entirely loyal to the leader and beliefs that the cult holds. This causes her to act out when anyone (especially disrespectful ones like lizzy) oversteps their boundaries. Think of the ancestral tree scene. That's her.

And that's about it for the major characters.

Some more minor ones;

Cyn would probably be Maja as much as her whole plot makes me uncomfortable, the idea is she's young and foolish wich fits cyns whole little sister vibe (omg I'm gonna BARF)

Since uzis parents don't play a huge roll in the story besides to be um dead I guess. I'd say nori and khan should be the elders in the Ättestupa scene

The friends uzi makes in the cult could be literally anyone. maybe alice and beu Tessa as a drone? Other background workers we know the names of?

Not sure who I'd pick to be Terri...

That's about all the ideas I had for this au, I rewatched the movie recently so kinda just mooshed my 2 brainworms together. I thought it was pretty interesting tho so I'm throwing this out in case anyone wants to use it. Feel free to!

If you take notice, you can see that Punch shares something similar to Super Sonic, also known by fans as Fleetway Super Sonic or Evil Super Sonic, is one of the overarching antagonists of Fleetway's Sonic the Comic.

This Sonic from British comics is a more brash and aggressive version of Sonic that is not afraid to speak his mind but is often using that as a mask for his insecurities and feelings. Just like King Gilgamesh from Fate/stay night you did see how similar, right? He exterminates those that stand in the way of his enjoyment without exception. All living beings are "something that is about to die" or "something that will one day die." If he decides that there is a "being that should die this moment", he will simply execute the sentence no matter if they should be a sage or a god. Punch is a very complex character so I once said in the past, If you mistake both Sonic’s personality and Gilgamesh's personality based on original owners, that means you never understand Punch’s personality.

Super Sonic is a different element of Sonic. But isn't Sonic's true self. But also not a demonic being like Fleetway introduced. That makes Punch different from Fleetway even though both Punch and Fleetway have a vitriolic hatred towards Sonic and his friends. Super Sonic or Punch herself is mute and peaceful. She's not a quippy motor mouth. It seems to take Super form all the time to speak or show elements of his true personality within this form. Super is a powerful being.

As Sonic's personality, is kind and loyal to his friends even strangers which makes Punch still care for everyone she wants to protect. Punch chose to save Chris as well even if this was the first time she met him.

This is the reason too why King Gilgamesh chose to go back to his people no matter how selfish he was. Gilgamesh still chose people and returned back to Uruk. Fleetway sonic was always stressed, wanting to do almost everything himself(Yeah very same as King Gilgamesh). Punch was stressed and wanted to do almost everything herself as well but Punch chose to do the right thing for everyone and her friends she cared. You can read in this hint(Below) that Punch Whalen is similar to Magnifico, but as Asha said in Tsubasa of Phantasia, Magnifico ultimately only cares about himself. But Punch cares about her friends and people even though she's selfish, narcissistic, more cool than anyone else, and has high confidence in herself.

And this is why I wrote because of Sonic's kindness, Punch accepts defeat and loses to Sonic.

- eda probably picked up a baby flame whipper from somewhere and, upon being unable to find its pack, decided to raise it on her own, a la king.

- deeply loyal dragons. there would be no convicing them to not follow his orders. that manipulative, controlling bastard would love this.

- typhoomerangs are anxious, high-strung, and territorial. these all fit hunter pretty well well i think.

- she tries very hard to make sure he is well-fed. hunter is utterly bemused by her offerings of raw fish. he will not be going hungry on her watch.

- shovelhelms are social, friendly, level-headed, and intelligent. i think they'd make a good fit for gus, who is ALSO social, friendly, and intelligent!

- gus gives stupid long names (his palisman is named. emmiline bailey marcostimo.) so i'm gonna sayyyyy sebastian elias thiago will be his dragon's name

- seb is obsessively trying to build gus a nest at all times. gus often assists and is always bringing him new material. he wants the best for his boy, and that sentence means both gus for seb and seb for gus.

- sebastian also works as an autism & anxiety support dragon for gus! he's fantastic at helping gus recognize when he's getting overwhelmed or nearing a meltdown or depressive episode, and great at distracting him and helping him calm down.

2024 Game Clear #4 Mega Man X: Command Mission

This is an interesting one, a tradition turn based Mega Man X RPG that has much to love, but also leaves me wanting in a lot of way. Perhaps because this is the final X series game I needed to play it also left me thinking about the storytelling & characterization of the X series so this will probably be a long one

The story here is that a maverick named Epsilon has formed a army aptly named the Rebellion Army to occupy Giga City and form a reploid supremist state and now the Maverick Hunters must intervene! If your familiar with the X series this will sound extremely in line with the general plotline the action games tended to have & it's clear that the developers really wanted to translate as much stuff and mechanics from those games into a RPG format (there's even a boss rush teleport room at the end!)

That thinking creates a pretty neat battle system but being so loyal to the plot structure of the main series X really does the story of a RPG & the new charters a disservice, you could very easily cut this 20 hour game into a standard X platformer & lose very little of the actual meat.

X and Zero are fully in their deadly serious mode that they've been in in for the late series X games, gone are Zero's days of confidently giving a thumbs up we're full broody edge lord & X is in cop mode at all time which is a shame since this could've been a great way to really explore these two in more depths then normally allowed.

I liked the new characters but they don't really get anything to do here, after their recruitment there character arc is pretty much done & i'm pretty sure Spider aside, the other 3 maybe talked to Zero & Axel maybe once throughout the entire game. I wish I could tell you anything about Marino or Cinnamon other then what written on the tin. Massimo is a brute struggling to live up to his mentor name, Marino is a thief who unexpectedly finds herself embroiled into the conflicted, Cinnamon is a living blacksmith forge i guess? And Spider is a bounty hunter who's later actions makes me question his early actions. They all have a lot of potential they're just unserved.

Let's move on to a lighter note for a bit, This battle system is pretty cool, it uses a turn system similar to the Digimon Story games (it's probably comes from something older but I'm blanking lol) where you can see the upcoming order of who moves first & even have your unit act multiple times before your enemy can under the right circumstances, two buttons can be equipped with special weapons that use Weapon Energy to fire and can be used before taking your action for the turn. Instead of healing items you have sub tanks you can collect and fill that you can pull from for healing.

Action Trigger are essentially limit breaks where you use all your weapon energy & play a little mini game for a big attack, its a little repetitive and i don't love doing a Mario Party style stick rotation for Cinnamon's heal trigger but it's fine & everyone has a hyper mode which is a temporary transformation that massively buffs the character or even in some cases change out their weapons and Action Triggers, X and Zero have secret unlockable Hyper modes that are super OP and fun to use.

It's a really fun and unique system & I do appreciate that I never really felt I need to grind but it can get pretty old when your binging through the game since enemy can feel pretty spongy and the encounter rate sometimes can a little aggressive where I'll get out of a battle and slightly adjust myself to get my barring again only to be thrown back into a battle immediately but sometimes i would go several rooms without any encounters so it probably varies.

And when you get lost the constant battles can be grating & getting lost can be easy as the entire game looks like this

All the stages feel like I'm exploring a bunker with almost entire game being made up of narrow hallways, even Giga City the city in the sky kinda just feels like another a bunker also slight tangent about the game's world it's funny that even in this RPG the X world is devoid onscreen humans, I don't know what Sigma and all the other Mavricks are complaining about, seems like the humans are doing a great job leaving reploids alone!

It probably sounds like I really didn't like the game but I did ultimately enjoy the game but I just see so much untapped potential in this game, these characters & this world, I can imagine a version of this game were Massimo has a longer character arc struggling with feeling like he's failing to honor the mantle, Maybe Marino learning to believe in the cause, More of Cinnamon learning what she wants to do beside just being a actual tool for people to use. My mind races with possibilities with this world & I only got a fraction of what I would've liked.

I truly wish it got a sequel because this is a very solid base to build on & really Mega Man has always been an iterative franchise but in hindsight of all the baggage the next generation would bring, the mega man recession of the late aughts, & Inafune gaining more power within Capcom & apparently hating the idea of a X RPG to begin with Command Mission was probably made at the last possible moment it could've been made.

Anyway here's some random thought to end off on

Everyone in the city getting new dialogue as the story progresses is neat

Cinnamon's design uses the red cross logo so this game is a violation of the Geneva Convention

I'm not really sure why they needed this to take place in 22XX causing it to have no place in the timeline due to the Zero games also taking place then other than maybe wanting to remove themselves from the earth is damaged after X5 continuity idk

I was originally planning on just leaving a reply, but my brother in Christ, I don't think that shit will fit it. So here we are, a reblog. This won't be spoiler free btw.

Like somebody said in the replies, Leshy is energetic as hell, which can sort of be seen in his fight from what I remember. He and Heket both threaten the Lamb insanely much every time you visit their realm. So yes, menace. If we also remember that he's the youngest, it would make sense if he would cause chaos not only because he is the God of Chaos, but also because... y'know, he wants attention. I mean c'mon, if Narinder got that middle child syndrome signs, surely the rest of the siblings do as well?

I think I remember seeing one of the characters say that Heket was one of the cruelest siblings (I believe it was Narinder who said that), which leads me to imagine that she'd be the sarcastic, serious type of person, distrustful of others and their intentions and always on guard, ready to defend herself if necessary. We can also see it in her fight (sort of), with the way that she slams herself onto this itty bitty lamb. Very aggressive. Since Narinder got that neglected middle sibling vibe, I imagine that Heket has the overly responsible middle sibling vibe, which would also explain why she's so aggressive and protective.

Kallamar gives me the vibe of the sibling who got outshined by the ones born after him. For some reason, to me, he seems very clearly insecure. Even in his fight, he doesn't really use his "own" powers unlike the other siblings, instead just choosing to use regular ass weapons and minions to fight. Now, that made me think, what if he's not cowardly as everyone says, but really terrified of death specifically because y'know... the sibling that outshined him is literally the God of Death. Like hello, of course he'd rather do anything BUT get martyred.

Shamura is the older sibling, and they, much like Kallamar, give me a very clear vibe of the sibling who used to take responsibility for all the other little shits, but eventually got exhausted, because that is a lot of responsibility to shoulder all on their own (which also ties to the reason why Heket wants to take responsibility for everyone else, to help Shamura a little). I imagine that despite looking pretty calm and collected, Shamura actually has a lot of emotions that they just shoved straight back into their heart and kept them hidden there ever since. Basically what I'm saying is that they utilize their intelligence to help out other people, but most of the times end up neglecting themselves.

Aym, funnily enough, ended up being the tamer of the two in my game. Despite looking like the aggressive one, he's actually pretty loyal and calm, although not very sociable. So what I'm saying is, moon introvert who looks like he'd beat the shit out of you if you breathe at him wrong (and he can, but probabaly won't unless you fuck up really bad).

Baal, on the other side, is a massive asshole (babe's got the jerk trait for some reason). He likes poking fun at others just to see their reactions, to see how they fume and yell when a minor inconvenience happens to them. That being said, he also happens to be the more openly emotionally unstable one, because when he appears in the cult for the first time, the first thing he does is call out for Aym and Narinder (maybe Aym did something similar too, I actually don't remember for some reason). He is the sun extrovert that can also beat you up (but will probabaly turn into a pouty child if you eat his favourite cupcake).

oh to be honest ive never received any actual AWFUL asks/comments but i have received a lot that toe a very fine line to the point i cant even remember all of them. like it's clear there was never any malicious intent but some people just reallyyyyy do not understand boundaries. most of the time i just wont answer but if im in a bad mood i tend to tell you guys off for it lmao so you've actually probably seen the worst ones.

i guess not threatening or mean, but one comment that has always stuck with me just bc of how 'wtf?!' i was about it is this one commenter i had on ao3. they were a reallyyy loyal commenter for MONTHS like every single chapter they'd leave at least a paragraph, and two thirds of the para would always be pure praise for my writing, which was why it was kinda complicated bc i KNEW the rest of the comment wasn't intended to be criticism, they were just the kind of person that clearly didn't have a filter. so what they'd do is they'd say all these compliments, but then they'd say what they DIDNT like about my writing. and my attitude with fanfiction is that unless the work is actively problematic, you just do not tell the author their shortcomings. idc if this isn't a widely held opinion; it's my opinion. ao3 authors are giving us this shit for FREE out of their own time more often than not while balancing jobs and a social life - it is their HOBBY and it's not your place to tell them you dont like their plot or the way they wrote something. write it yourself if it bothers you so much. and so for ages i just didnt respond to this person's comments even though MOST of the comment they'd leave would always be positive, bc the tagged on parts always felt passive aggressive. like they were clearly part of the Annoying atla fandom bc they'd always get annoyed when any of the characters held zuko accountable for anything. they openly admitted that they just wanted zuko to be babied and didn't like it when people were mean to him, a sentiment that REALLY pisses me off, and they were also SUCH a katara anti which, yk, red flag. but it was fine. it wasn't a big deal, i could handle the comments and i genuinely just forgot about them as soon as i read them.

BUT THEN one day they left me a comment being like 'im going to stop reading this fic' which that alone is such an odd thing to alert the author about, but then they proceeded to explain to me why they weren't going to read anymore. like they spent an entire para being like 'this is why i dont really like this fic anymore' LMAO?? and i distinctly remember them saying something about zi se and how they hated him partially because they hate kids but mostly because he was an OC which i just thought was such a fucking funny thing to say like the cheek?? i was flabbergasted and i was kind of sick of their shit at that point, so my response was (para-phrased): 'not to be rude but in future i think you should consider when commenting on fics if your comment is actually necessary.  it can be very discouraging as a writer to be told directly by a reader that they don't enjoy your story and don't like the direction you're taking it. i'm confident enough in taob and my own abilities that i can brush it off very easily, but i'm just worried that if you said this to a newer or smaller fic writer it could really impact their confidence. the decision to stop reading isn't the issue here, it's just that you felt the need to explicitly tell me about it' which i thought was very hot and mature of me. like i very rarely pull out the 'taob is one of the biggest fics in a very big fandom' card but when dealing with rude people i have no shame in being like 'i will not miss a single reader like you realise that right i will not notice if you stop reading' so yeah as an experience it was all just very odd JSKDGHKJDSH

Twilight characters as random animals that I think are oddly fitting

(Also yes, I am roasting the animals as well)

Edward: He would be a Cheetah. Now I know, seems like a cop out just because of his speed but hear me out. Cheetahs are, at face value, pretty cool. They used to be my favorite animal as a child, but then I grew up.

Cheetahs, through no fault of their own, are severely inbred. Now thats mainly because of poaching, but the cheetas anxiety also comes into play. In captivity, cheetahs are usually given emotional support dogs. I will admit it is cute but it negatively affects the population. Excluding one in the wild, cheetas can be to anxious to breed and thats not good for conservation efforts.

Cheetahs can hit up to 80 miles per hour in a couple of seconds. They are designed for fast running and agility. Their claws are similar to that of a dogs for better traction and they have elongated spines for longer strides. They have a thin build, long legs and a long tail for balance.

This has downsides though. Many times after making a kill, it will get stolen for them by larger predators. Thats right, they get absolutely bodied by the other animals. I should probably make these shorter but I'm on a rant now, so I guess this will be semi educational.

Throughout the series, we see Edward over estimated his abilities and value, constantly getting bodied by others. He's essentially a perfect mormon, though thats on S'meyers. He constantly judges others, dehumanizing them to their baser flaws, without doing any self reflecting. Him viewing himself as a monster doesn't really count to me. While he definitely hates himself, the only thing he is truly demonizing is being a vampire.

Bella: Picking up from Edwards, Bella is a Chocolate Labrador. Yes, she is his therapy dog. I feel like this is really fitting for her. I know Golden retriever would make more sense, as thats the most common breed for service animals. However, I kind of focused on her appearance. Only at first though! I just know that Edward raved about her human qualities and that would pass over as animals as well. Her chocolate eyes and brown fur, very average and boring. Thats essentially Bella. Even Edward wasn't into her until he got a wiff. Labradors a very loyal dogs and while they have more personality than Bella, I just couldn't shake it. Their also very stupid. Ok that's kind of mean, they're not stupid but when it comes to love, then yeah they are stupid.

I used to have a lab, loved him to death, but god he was something else. Very much danger prone, from their own stupidity or their lack of survival instincts. I know that labs are almost aquatic. They love water, swimming, all that jazz. We can just say that bella has a few screws loose in her dna and is just "not like other labs."

Rosalie: Now she was hard. There are quite a few animals that I think would fit for her. I'll list the other ones, but that one I went with is the Swan. Like Edward, seems a little on the nose, but I have my reasoning.

I was going to pick a predator for her, as she is shown to be very vengeful and viscous. I would have pick some type of cat, most likely a purebred, from a rich family. It could still work, but the swan just speaks to me on this one.

Swan's are known for being beautiful, graceful, and are pictured as the symbol of love. They are also very vain. Edward constantly brings up Rosalies vanity. She was constantly valued for her beauty as a human, so of course that crossed over in the transformation. She was raised to be married into wealth, she was used as a bargaining chip to increase the family's standing.

Rose has a very strong character and makes her opinions known. She's assertive and aggressive at times. She's not afraid to get dirty.

Swans mate for life and like geese, are known for being great parents. I was also going to choose geese as an option for the maternal instincts. I was wary at first because swans can be really aggressive. Like actually, you think geece are bad? Yikes bestie...

I was conflicted because swans are known for drowning dogs and sometimes people. However, I can actually see Rose drowning Bella. It's not that unbelievable lmao.

Emmett: Now this one is just ironic. I only associate him with bears. Its inevitable, but picking a Grizzly or Black bear is too obvious. So I went a slightly different route...

So I was going to pick the Sun bear just because of looks alone. Like, I'm not exaggerating, it looks like someone wearing a bear costume. I don't think it fits him but I know for a fact that he would dress up as a sun bear and sneak into a zoo to see if anyone would notice. I'll put a pic of it here

Like look at this thing. I have no words...

Anyway, what I picked was a Sloth Bear. Now Sloth bears are mostly nocturnal, which either way works consider vamps don't sleep. Their diet is also odd but honestly so is the cullens. They're native to the Indian subcontinent, and are known for being aggressive towards humans. Its said that for the most part they're pretty calm, so I think its just fear of humans that make them act aggressively. Honestly, that's a good thing because they are listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red list.

They have some similarities with sloths, which is where they get the name. They have long claws and unusual teeth. They are known to hang upside down from tree branches, and is described as having a messy appearance. Honestly, Emmitt has a messy personality. Sorry bestie but you're a lot of work.

Now heres the biggest reason for choosing this bear. Aside from Baloo from the jungle book being a sloth bear, they are known to run fades with Tigers. Honestly, how fucking badass is that!? Now I don't think there are recorded instances of a Sloth bear killing a Tiger, but when push comes to shove, they can hold their own and I find that incredibly impressive.

Carlisle: This one was somehow the easiest as well as the toughest. I know Owl seems like the obvious choice, and I can see it. However, I believe Carlisle values emotional intelligence as much or if not more than academic intelligence. He is so charismatic and values other's above himself. He might not be as Saint like as Edward thinks, but he does try and I think he genuinely cares about others. For that reason alone, I choose a Elephant.

Elephant's are very social animals and are extremely intelligent. I could rave about them for ages, I love them so much.

Now elephants live in a familial unit and are usually matriarchal. Bulls usually are on the outer edges of the herd or form little groups with other males. Honestly, they're not that bad aside from when their in musk.

In the group of males, the elder ones will teach the younger where to get the best food, water, how to use things as tools, and every other thing that will increase their odds of survival. This is really cute to me tbh, they do this because the females usually choose the older males because they've proved that they are intelligent and strong, that they have survived and will continue to for awhile. Teaching the younger males these things are to make the odds of them getting chosen to mate more likely. The whole unit just reminds me of a father that has to deal with rowdy teens.

Carlisle likes to take in strays, he might not have a herd but he will make one and teach them to thrive. That's how he envisions it anyway. He just has a found family and is trying his best.

Esme: Now this might seem like an insult, but I promise it's not! This is in no way misogynistic. I love cattle and ever since I took animal science in highschool, I have appreciated these grass puppies like they deserve. Call me Castro because I love cows.

Yup! I chose a Cow for her. Specifically a beef cow. That might sound weird but its because beef cows have higher maternal instinct than dairy cows. I'm thinking Scottish Highland based on vibes alone.

They are nicknamed the Gentle Giants of Scotland. Super maternal and sweet and ugh look how cute they are!

Esme came from a abusive marriage and had just lost her child, she was depressed and desperate. Her changing was, in a way, salvation. She just fits in. She adopts all these strays along with him and will protect them to the death. She might be gentle by nature, but don't fuck with her family. She lost her first one and she isn't going to lose this one.

Alice: She's an odd one. There are so many possibilities and maybe I'm biased, but I feel like she would be a Crow.

Ok listen, I'm definitely biased but it just feels right. Crows get a bad rap, they are so cool! They are so intelligent and have the ability to actually sit and think about the past, prest, and future. I forget what its called, but this was only seem in humans! Maybe other apes, I can't remember exactly, but either way its awesome. They do live in groups, or murders, and remember people and faces. They remember locations and are able to pass down information through generations. They essentially have their own language! They are able to use tools too!

Alice's story is really sad. When we first meets her, it revolves around the death of her mother and her institutionalized. She was essentially tortured and forgot everything from her past. All she had was the future and even that wasn't constant. Crows a often viewed as omens, they are associated with death. I personally believe that instead of being the cause, they just know something is going to happen. They are very inquisitive and can be creative.

If you befriend a murder of crows, sometimes, depends or the group, they will bring gifts. Its can range from food to shiny metals and colorful plastic. Hell, I think I've seen a post of one stealing things from people just to gift it to their human.

Alice's love language is gifts. Even if they are focused around fashion, she still goes out of her way to get something that will look good and at least be a little comfortable. By that I mean she tends to forget peoples comfort zones, but she means well.

Jasper: Honestly not to sure what to put for him. I know a predator would be more fitting, but for some reason I can see a donkey working. I know, seems like I'm clowning on the confederate. Fair, but I'm serious about the donkey thing. Honestly, it would be perfect if it wasn't a herbivore. Porcupine would also work.

Being a predator would make more sense. Given his backstory and his characterization, it wouldn't make sense for him to be a prey animal. Usually I wouldn't count this, but given his gore filled past and trouble with the diet, it seemed fitting.

I see him as a Big Cat. Honestly, vamps in general just give cat vibes. Jasper though especially have some cat like qualities, which originates from hunting and being a soldier.

I specifically see him as a Mountain Lion. Aside from him being blonde, he just has the predatory stealth to him. In midnight sun, we see him use his gift to make the nomads overlook him. He's honestly really powerful.

Mountain lions are known for being stealthy with an air of grace and power to them. They are stong animals. And I mean strong. They can jump 40-45 feet.

They're very elusive and quite. They stalk their prey and tend to attack from behind but don't think they won't hold their ground if need be.

Jasper was changed during the Civil War and forced to fight in the Newborn wars. He was a soldier as a human and as a vampire. He's able to feel and manipulate others emotions. He's covered in scars and is very intimidating.

He still struggles with the diet and honestly I hate how the others handle it. Like they have no room to talk. I don't want to defend the confederate but it just pisses me off. He has to deal with his hunger on top of everyone else's. Like damn, besties always on edge! Everyone doubts him which I don't think helps any.

Also, Mountain lions and Cheetahs can purr!

Now I'm thinkin about all the clones and the enneagram

So is Rebekah @isfjmel-phleg! Only she hasn't met all of them yet so she's just trying to figure out Two right now. He's being slippery about it.

No but what ARE you thinking about the clones and the enneagram? I'm curious. I don't know the enneagram that well, but at a glance, I'd classify them like this:

and okay, this got long, as usual when I talk about my clones.

Two: Five or Six? He's very inward-facing, a strategist who bases his worth on his competence and usefulness and revels in new knowledge (Five qualities), but he also has some qualities of Sixes (overthinking, fear of abandonment, loyalty and deep desire to have security in relationships.) He's the main character, so I'm in his head all the time, and he's the most similar to me, and I have a hard time perceiving him OR myself as any one definitive type. Rebekah placed Thad Thawne of Mercury Falling as a Three, which seems accurate. And the enneagram website says that disintegrating Sixes look like Threes, which tracks. So... probably six...??

Three: ...probably a seven?? He's the most energetic of the clones, and he thrives on chaos and fun. He's an extrovert and a charmer. He likes to be spontaneous; he's the kind of person who always has to do as many activities as humanly possible in a vacation. However, he gets defensively upset at others when they point out his flaws (impulsiveness, stubbornness, impatience, anger, violence). And he IS very stubborn and quite focused, unlike the typical seven.

Four: Okay, look. Thad Four is probably a four? Very introspective, attuned to his environment, dedicated to creating beauty around himself (he builds his own house in Colorado!), believes himself unique as a key part of his identity. But also, to really analyze Four, you have to get into his alters, and I'm pretty sure that "Thaddeus" is an Eight (self-sufficiency, baby!!! Thaddeus is a protector of the rest of the system and tends to be standoffish. No one can make sure Thad is safe like he can.)

Five: Type One all the way. Perfectionistic, self-flagellating, and disciplined, he believes himself to be "a bad person" but still strives after a mission based on his strong sense of right and wrong because he can't do anything else. He has to be animated by a mission. He's the clone who saves all of the others—but he also has the bitterest disagreements with the others.

Six: ...I really don't know. He has such a terrible personality switch after his powers are taken away. He starts as a devil-may-care adrenaline junkie and ends up as a deeply sad goth magician who just wants to help others and let himself disappear into the background. Maybe he's a Four? But he wants deeply to help others, and he does have a strong sense of identity. I could see him as a Nine, too. He becomes quite helpful—and conflict-avoidant, too.

Seven: type two. He wants so badly to be a good person and not a monster. He feels most at peace when he's helping others, he genuinely cares about others and enjoys being nurturing and gentle. But he also throws himself into that role in an unhealthy way. If he's helping others, they won't hurt him, right? if he's helping others, he doesn't have to think about how broken he is, right? he can get up early and make muffins for Three. He can knit a sweater for CRAYDL. He can be a shoulder to cry on for Two. If he plays his cards right maybe he can even become a confidante of his adoptive parents.

Eight: Either type Two or Nine, I'm not sure and I don't have Eight fleshed out enough yet to really know.

Nine: type eight, I think? Outspoken, aggressive, decisive, arrogant. But he doesn't really want to be type eight; he wants validation and love. He wants to be a reliable, loyal servant who's praised and valued. So maybe he's more of a deeply burned Six—he became competitive and arrogant and mean in order to gain all the small scraps of approval he could get. Also, he was terrified of Seven, caged in with him in that little lair.

So Four is the only one who is the same number as his enneagram type. Hah.

My thoughts on Aphmaus’ My Inner Demons!

Its me, Load. Jumping straight into it because i live in fear of tumblr's post character limit. 👍

–...what I gathered from My Inner Demons (pt2)

Starting with some foundational worldbuilding!

Will admit there isn't really enough of it… There would be if there was a season 2 (that was going to be on daemos!) We unfortunately didn't get.

And so all we have is the small moments we see from season 1 and the boys' brief mentions of it.

And only the MENTIONing of a sun from the boys but when we see what's going on on daemos, it's nighttime. Constantly. Not that I don't believe them or question what a sun is to them, is the moon their sun? (I mean, noi mentioned he felt like he was burning when he was in earth's sunlight. And though they sleep less they seemed to atleast at first been somewhat nocturnal.)

But.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

also don't get me wrong I actually really like that funky idea of worldbuilding! I'm just saying, lol.

Anyway, what was gathered..

We all know that Daemos is cruel, vicious even. It's kill or be killed, survival of the fittest, strongest prevails and the weak disposed of. Most emotion, Love, Kindness, Caring, Cowardice and Mercy? Seen as traits that are deemed reason enough to kill you for just being seen as weak. (exm: Noi)

Daemos the Land is additionally cruel to live on. Both animals and plants are aggressive and are willing or even going to kill you. (So they live in Australia?/JOKING/for legal reasons this is a joke.) (I'm noting plants and animals as well because noi mentioned them being deadly in an episode I don't remember which and, well… it's daemos?)

Okay, that was not alot for foundational worldbuilding.... but its we got.

(already mentioned the magic crisis and that other kingdoms do exist...)

For characters, let's start with

Noi!

Not much is known about Noi, or atleast his past. We know that he was or is being bullied and was going to be killed or executed for being deemed weak. That is until Asch spared/saved him. And assumedly how he became one of Asch's loyal knights. He seems to respect him the most, or even look up to him. In episode one he was really adamant about being the one to deliver the spirit to Asch first. Leif also was but for him it seemed more for the entertainment and game, rather than Noi. who seemed to have taken it way more seriously, possibly because it meant more to him.

We also know why he was deemed weak was because he LOVES, and cares. Though… despite the world they live in. He chooses to remain the person he is. Or even he can't help it. And i wouldn't call him naive. Yes he's almost naively trusting (despite daemos..) but he's not quite naive in awareness or somewhat knowledge. He knows and understands why he's deemed weak, he himself has said he needs to work harder to prove himself because he loves. Though that can be a double-edge sword cause that could still be considered naivety, but it could also be a form optimistism? Hope. I mean… Asch did spare him, and what reason did Asch have for that? In fact… proving himself might not be for other daemos. But to prove himself to Asch. You saved him Asch, and yet you still treat him like other Daemos do..

Oh, also Pierce!

We also dont know much about him. Other than he used to be a general or soldier apart of Rhals army. Why he no longer part of it? Who knows. An assumption is that he did something- or should i say. Didn't do something.. That Rhal got furious over and maybe was going to kill him too. And then Asch must've intervened. And Pierce became his loyal knight.

He's known in the mid'dom as a gentle giant. He's kind, perhaps considerate because ceral box he stole for ava in the first few beginning episodes. He's quiet, most likely traumatized. And.. for someone who might be seen who doesn't want to cause harm, or atleast kill anyone.

He did pull his blade on ava, and Rhys had to correct him by saying peaceful evasive maneuvers. Yes, this can be benefited from this is what was expected of him from being a soldier in rhals army… but do say. If Asch saved them, how long ago was that? How long has any of these boys known him? From the first episode pierce seems to know him enough to make rhys stop his explanation and just say “we had a delay.” so. There could've still been some room atleast for healing. To learn that he doesn't have to react with violence anymore. But then again. Asch sure does act alot like his brother...

Oh!! Yeah, Leif.

We seem to know more about him unlike the other two, but its… more of estimated guesses in areas.

He was an orphan, was apart of a group of orphans, they seemed to have become a group of assassins as they grew up. And they missions with eachother. Its up until a certain mission, They ended abandoning him. Yes, they could've died and he was left as lone survivor, or they literally left him to die, on his own. And through scenario.. Asch Ended Sparing him. And Leif became his loyal knight. Though i ask, if he was abandoned, why would he trust another person. Why would he join someone else? He would absolutely fear loosing someone close to him whether he looses them through them bleeding out or letting him bleed by himself. ..Unless he had no choice? Who knows! Interesting he's sticking with Asch who threatened to kill them if they stayed behind on Daemos. *shrug*

Oh! Rhys! Oh rhys…

Who are you? We know nothing. Oh, wait. He's Lady Grandmas most trusted student or disciple! He's also the most intelligent.. hes SAID to be calm and collected and rarely angry but i mean. He sure does throw.. Tantrums. Also he doesn't know who mirage is even though its Lady Grandmas familiar meaning she never told him or he was acting infront of asch but we didnt get to see him ever recognize mirage or let us know he knew… seriously. What a big mystery. Oh! And that he most likely wasn't saved, spared, or shown mercy by Asch. More like.. a lil spy planted into Asch's group by Lady Grandma. Here me out, im sorry for mentioning, but the bathroom scene. With the mirror (ill get back to this). AND i swear to fruitloops, there was a scene with him where she was telling him NOT TO LET ASCH KNOW he was Lady Grandmas disciple. But ey that's just a theory, a SHOW THEO-

And Asch.

Oh… Asch. Hahaha hahaha …

I wouldn't say i hate his personality (though i do), but because hes so fundamentally broken. His purpose and role in the story is complicated, his relaintionships make zero sense-

Hes broken to the point, There are two Asches.

There is the Asch we see in the show, and the Asche overshadowed by the Asch we were given.

Let me explain!!

Asch, you know him. He's a jerk, he's mean, rude, aggresive, A brat who throws tantrums, violent anger issues if not compared to the hurricane his brother is. Hes the one who dare to fucking say to Noi, in the second episode, “Dont be so Weak.” and that is he is the one in first episode to threaten to kill any of them if he saw the ones who dared stay behind ever again.

I dont know what this Asch's purpose is to the story…is he meant to be the EMBODIMENT of Daemos? And that maybe if Rhys was planted into the group, and also evidence through the mirror in the bathroom scene.. hes there to change Asch. If Asch can change, All of Daemos can?

That still… Doesn't fully fit? Though? What does his father represent then? Btw, Lady Bish is not the main villain and She is merely the one who comes before Asch's father. (Though you knew already??) Does the father represent the social expectation of what Daemos should be? And Asch needing to change, in order to take down the social expectation? But then what about Rhal? There is no middle ground purpose left for him. He's... useless. Other than to be a pawn used by his father and not have character growth. Or he does! But Asch kinda. Took it first??

Also. Asch cannot be the one who saved the boys. Theres NO WAY the boys are loyal TO HIM. Or Respect HIM. A man who is alike the ones who abused them. Whether it be alike the ones who bullied and sentenced noi to death becaues he was weak, whether it be the possible sentencing to Pierce to death because he was weak, or Leif. Someone who, there is no way, doesn't have abandonment issues.

Even if he did save them. There's no way these boys would respect him. And it would be forced loyalty because if they dont remain his loyal knights, they'll die.

…instead, their savior was Asche. The one the boys are actually loyal to. The one the boys ACTUALLY have respect for.

An Asche who IS change. It's not that he needs to change. He is it. He's the one who spared the boys and saved them. He is the shepherd who took in the outcasts, the rejected, the weak.

An Asche who can still have his issues, but he is one of them.

And no. Asch is no way a persona. That mask would've been removed when he learned he didn't have to keep it on. That's he's not a prince on earth. In fact, he would not threaten to kill them, he wouldn't have called noi WEAK! No one else was around. Only the people he can/could trust.

*sigh*

I'll return with ava and lorelai and the other daemos, and my most crucial point...

Edit: i forgot to mention. Rhys purpose technically no longer works if the second Asche was to be the one at play. Because if we're going off the vibe he's there to change Asch, and If there's nothing to change, Then, he no longer has a purpose.

But if he's just there to watch over Asch due to Lady Grandmas request. Then he's safe.

Edit: rechecked the mirror scene. And he seems to be there because the two are to support asch in the decision to prevent his death. And, part of that is to make an alliance with humans and not kill them instead. Which is to also help guide him on the right track, aka change him.

Hello, hello, it is i, load!

With something that was a meant to be a response to a reblog chain i hadve with hypnoi...

But I decided to make my response into its own post instead…for I have a lot to say. (I tried to restrain myself but– )

(And in my experience reblog chains that have a lot of reblogs and/or are really long can cause lag. Idk if their device experiences it but just in case i didn't want them to deal with the lag ^^”.)

I also had thoughts about making this type of post before as well. So I additionally took this as an opportunity to finally make it. I hope that's alright.

And now, I just wanna say, I will be going into detail on all my thoughts about almost everything about My Inner Demons. The writing, the story, the worldbuilding, the characters, the scenes, about almost everything.

And additional heads up because despite this show meaning alot to me, and something that I've created related to it has helped me through so much and something I've poured blood, sweat and tears into.

There's going to be sections that may not be pretty. Where I can't hide my feelings when talking about some of these certain points.

Also that I'm not a professional, these are just my personal thoughts, feelings and opinions on Aphmaus show.

But finally getting into it;

My thoughts on Aphmaus’ My Inner Demons.

—- Let's start with a quick recap.

Within an alternate dimension, there is a world known as Daemos. Where a group of 5 individuals take it upon themselves to find a solution to their world's magic-crisis.

Said group consisting of their leader,

a Second-Born Prince known as Asch, Along with his 4 Loyal Knights, an ex-assassin named Leif, an ex-soldier/general of Rhal(the first-born prince)s army named Pierce, an individual who would've been executed just for being considered weak if Asch didn't ‘spare’ him named Noi, and a not very much is known about member named Rhys, who has a student/teacher relationship with Asch's Grandmother.

Said Grandmother helps the five to find a solution to their world's magic-crisis.

A magic-crisis where the source of all their magic, which comes from human souls, is running out. (A crisis caused by not very smart decisions leading to an extinction of humans) (And a Crisis not known to the general populace and other kingdoms. only the royal family and its council from the most powerful kingdom of them all, know of the crisis.)

(Through Lady Grandma) They learn of a possible solution, which leads them to take on a mission to kill the last remaining human for their soul. In order to use it to open up a portal to another world, which they called “ea-urth.”

Here within Ea-urth, is where they temporarily experience utter suffering, And where they meet a human girl named Ava who finds them, and panickedly asks if they need help. Which, they awkwardly stand silently and glare & stare in response instead. (Because Pierce said don't show weakness. *Because Daemos society doesn't allow you to.*)

However she finds Asch collapsed on the ground behind them, quickly realizes he's unaliven’t and performs cpr. Saving his life, and as a show of thanks(/jk) they immediately threaten her. Before then abandoning her by hanging her on a tree by her hood.

They then get traumatized by cosplayers, return to force her to help them. She passes out after Asch turns the tree she was hanging on into ashes, and finds that their horns are real. (he burned the tree down because she didn't believe they were from another world and this in a way pissed him off. :3)

And now with her strangely intelligent cat they mistake as an earth spirit that somehow got outside despite the door being locked. Leads them back to her apartment with them carrying her like a bag of potatoes. Burning said doorknob off because locked and COULDN'T GET IN. (Johnny how???)

And soon after she wakes up, and tries to escape but fails. they spend HOURS. Literal HOURS. Waiting for her to STOP. SCREAMING. (which damn ava you got some LUNGS in you!)

When they finally get her to stop. Conversation and LIEing happens. Both sides. And a police station is involved until Ava dips out on that idea because they start threatening a police officer.

And this leads to her finally accepting she'll teach them how to live on earth!

The show is then quickly mostly about (forcibly) romantically pairing the boys with Ava.

With the occasional beginning or ending scenes within occasional episodes that portrays what's happening back on Daemos.

Which is about Rhals fiance, Lady Bish, (which one must assume is the (temporary) lead Villain of the season) Who slowly figures out what Lady Grandma has been up to, what's she hiding. And repeated hints & clues to Asch's fated sacrifice with more and more description.

The first season.. the show unfinishedly ends with the boys forcefully being returned to Daemos along with Ava magically disguised as a Daemos.

Got all that? Good, now onto

— what I gathered from My Inner Demons… (pt 1)

The story seems to have wanted to be a Harem rom-com (romantic-comedy) with a serious underlying tone & story. And i think also wanted to be for a more mature audience, at least for teens and up. Due to its inclusion of sexual jokes, (somehow minimal or non-existent) cussing, and… I guess violence?

In my opinion, the show fails to succeed in what it wanted to be.

– Let's get into the romance first. Shall we?

The romance in this show is not done well. Not at all, To be honest.

The show forces romance onto the main cast whether it fits their character, their inner stories, or if they like it or not. When Ava finally thinks about possible romance, it's because she's being pressured into doing so because of the people in her life. Not just the boys. But adults that she's supposed to trust and be friends with.

And the boys? They don't love Ava. Even if the show tries telling us around the end of the series they do? Also that they suddenly gotten comfortable and adjusted somewhat to daily life on earth that they help do chores now? We didn't see that growth. We saw nothing. This is out of the blue!

If they were intending to be a shojo something jump type of story like ouran host club, this wasn't Previously established, nor does it fit the story (*cough* that could've been told. *cough*) additionally, even if the story was like this, they still needed to show that development!

And for most of the story, the boys only want to marry ava for power, because of a misunderstanding that she is princess of earth (*....Deep sigh…*). But suddenly they all are actually in love with or have a crush on her??

*sigh*

— onto about the comedy

I think, we can all agree… the comedy is atleast a hit or miss, and awkward and uncomfortable at most.

(I'm so sorry for mentioning these scenes 😭) Examples: Like… the bathroom scene with Rhys and Lady Grandma… plus every single… one of those jokes Ms.Oates and Lady Grandma has made.

I'll.. i'll talk about their jokes. Not right now, though.

Anywho,

I personally think the comedy aspect in general doesn't fit the story. Don't get me wrong, every story needs a bit of comedy. But with how serious the ‘underlying’ story is, the comedy is… yikes. Ofc, you could still do an overdramatic(/pos) comedy that ends up transitioning to a more serious tone at times, (Aka Romantic Killer on Netflix, which i think can count as a physiological horror/neu) but i don't think that style fits this story, or at least the story we got.

*deep breath*

– onto the serious tone/underlying story…

The serious underlying tone is overshadowed by the comedy. And the serious underlying story is not just overshadowed, but disconnected from most of the story.

Every. Single. Time. The show gives us what's going on on Daemos, and then goes back to what's going on on earth. Is almost whiplash. Due to the utter tone shift between earth and daemos. Idk how to describe it, but…

When we're on earth, it's a comedy. The way things happen on earth are dramatic, possibly one could even say theatrical and illogical, including the characters themselves. It tries to include serious moments, but again, they're overshadowed by the comedic atmosphere.

But on Daemos? It has a darker atmosphere, it's more serious. The characters on daemos are also taken (somewhat more) seriously. Though comedy tries to coexist within it... but it just feels out of place or doesnt work with what Daemos is described and supposed to be and feel like.

I wouldn't say the shifting of tone between worlds is inherently bad.. in fact it could be used quite cleverly!

In other stories. I personally don't think it works with this story in particular. I'll explain this further, later on.

Additional note; the boys were once treated with this seriousness. In the very first episode, they're in a more serious atmosphere, and treated more seriously! Like, Asch was kinda intimidating when he threatened to kill his loyal knights that respect him if they chose to stay! (... oh, we will talk about Asch.)

But the moment, we see them on earth? Say goodbye to them being treated seriously and as adults!

Oh yeah. Additionally, they are not treated as adults. What do you mean? They act like children! Which doesn't make sense for… their world and culture they're from. They wouldn't.. act like children, even if the show might imply that daemos are cruel and selfish, but if they TRULY were, this stroy wouldn't.. really work. (I'll explain, i promise)

AND that the boys seem to almost fit the group of misfits trope! They all would've been killed for being weak or being who they are because who they are is deemed weak if Asch didn't save them, spare them, or show mercy! They're alive because Asch took them in and his position as a second-born prince, right? (We will talk about Asch…)
