Years ago I saw a post of yours where you said that you got massages to help with skin hunger. I recently started making more money and I can afford it now. Thanks for the idea! (I’m not, like, alone alone. I’m just single and don’t get touched much by friends and family)
I mean, same, that's why I do it too! It's good to have positive therapeutic touch on a regular basis and if you don't have someone who can offer that, or feel weird about asking, a massage is a great way to dose, as it were.
I'm sure if I asked any of my friends for a hug they'd give me one (and I have! I often hug people hello and goodbye) but I also feel weird about asking. I wasn't raised to easily accept physical affection, whether I'm asking for it or it's offered without any kind of discussion. My instinctive reaction is to withdraw even if I don't want to -- it's just reflex. And I know a LOT of people who aren't comfortable with a stranger touching them, or with being undressed in any way in front of a stranger, and I totally get that; it's not for everyone.
But for me, the issue isn't the touch or the nudity (especially since the place I go has you undress only "to your comfort level" and I'm not super self-conscious about being naked in situations where it's expected). It's the social aspect, the feeling that I'm imposing. So a really useful aspect of professional massage is that it's openly transactive -- I am paying someone an agreed-upon fee to provide a service. Everything is laid out and clear, so there's no tricky social navigation to do. I can relax and accept the touch and get benefit from it.
I will say massages can be kind of expensive to get regularly, but if you live near a massage school they often have very cheap "student" massages where you're basically letting a student learn on you. I go to River North Massage Therapy School for that reason -- when I started the student hour-long massage was $35 and now it's I think $50, but still a very good deal. You get a lot of variety, and the students are very good at listening, and asking what you want. You're not necessarily getting expert-level massage, like if I had a sports injury I'd go to a graduated professional, but for therapeutic massage and tension, it's more than fine.
Anyway yes, do recommend massages if you don't have (again: perfectly legit) issues with touch or nudity involving strangers. Glad you're finding it helpful too!

How to become that girl in 2025
happy new year! to kick off 2025, i want to share some ways that y'all can permanently glow up and become the best version of yourself!
health & fitness:
- find a workout that you actually enjoy and stick to it! it doesn't have to be an hour, but at least 10 minutes is good to start with!
- if you need help or inspiration for workouts, i personally love content from the learmann twins, taliyah joelle, savannah pesante, gisselle giron, taylor groulx, luisa giulietta, and monet zamora
- on that note, have a good stretching routine for before and after your exercises to stay flexible and to keep your muscles healthy and to help prevent injuries
- get enough sleep at night! it may seem like something that you hear all of the time, but getting enough sleep really sets the tone for your day. try to get between 6-8 hours at night, and if you have trouble with this, having a set bedtime and a good wind down routine may help!
- walk for at least an hour a day, especially if you have a remote job or attend school online! put on a good playlist or podcast
- eat a healthy, balanced diet that keeps you fueled and energized including fruits, vegetables, fiber, protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats
- drink 2l of water daily. you can also drink green tea, kombucha, or any other beverages that support skin/gut/heart health
- get sunlight or fresh air every day
- take your vitamins and supplements daily
mental wellness:
- do grounding exercises and journaling! doing these twice a day, in the morning and at night, can give you a great start and end to your day by reflecting on things going on in your life, your goals, highs and lows, or anything that's in your mind!
- listen to self help podcasts and read books about mental health and wellness to learn more about how to love yourself, set boundaries, and be your best self
- go to therapy if you need to! sometimes, there are things that we can't deal with on our own and it can help to talk to a professional who can guide you and give you the tools you need to face any problems in your life
- take time to take care of yourself and do things you enjoy, like reading, drinking tea, taking naps, or talking to friends
- if you're religious, having a healthy prayer life, going to worship services regularly, and being around people of the same faith as you can greatly help your mental and spiritual health
- listen to positive affirmations
- designate one day a week for a social media detox
self care:
- find a good skincare routine and do it in the morning and at night! if you aren't sure what products to buy or what your skin type is, you can go to your local dermatologist or esthetician. another alternative is looking at health and md websites to find your skin type and research good and effective skincare brands! no matter what your routine is, though, don't forget to use spf!
- have a good body care routine, as well, including a good body wash, exfoliator, lotion/butter, and body oil
- have a good haircare routine, consistent wash days, and try nourishing treatments like hair masks, hair oiling, and scalp massaging/steaming
- take good care of your teeth with brush, flossing, mouthwash, and whitening strips. you can also invest in a tongue scraper for extra fresh breath
- keep your nails and toes either painted/manicured or clean (depending on your preference)
organization:
- keep a google calendar with all important dates and assignments/projects
- have a daily to-do list of everything you need to do every day
- use notion to create a cute daily planner
- budget and track your spending for the week/month
- write down your goals for the week/month/year
- have weekly resets to rejuvenate yourself and your space and clear your mind

Everything is so peaceful, my body feels relaxed and fresh as if I had taken a delicious bath and received a massage right after. I learned there are two types of possessive people with going through a break up.

I am in a trio friends group, i'll name the other two PH3(that's her wattpad and youtube account name so yeah) and PB or peanut butter (because PB is her initials). The three of us are really close. Like FREAKISHLY CLOSE. Especially me and PH3. All three of us had went through toxic friendship and abandonment issues from other friends and i think that sort of made us come closer.
I am the emotional one in the group. The other two are quite apathetic. PB in some what empathetic about some people in some situations but she's strong headed and confident. She's got that cool hero who's all about Justice but also has a nice humour and an understanding side to her. (And hella hot tbh, she's a tomboy too). She's usually the therapist friend and a great comfort to me and PH3, both of whom come from tough backgrounds.
PH3, on the other hand is completely different. That girl is on another level i say. If you piss her off, she will diss you off. Whatever you do, do not insult her hobbies. But once you get through that tough and uncaring, cool and easygoing yet fake exterior, you'll find a warm, caring, hesitant and a soft girl who's just Afraid of getting hurt sometimes. Peanut butter had looked up PH3 mother, copy pasted her mothers phone info into some sort of abomination that allowed her to get access to PH3 mothers phone (since PH3 uses it). Just to make sure PH3 is alright. She only looked up the location of the phone and said she refused to look through anything else. We believed her but just to prove her point she exactly dated some of the location the phone was. (None of us knew where exactly PH3 lived). PH3 had her mouth agape because she did not expect that from peanut butter. She was flabbergasted. I was more surprised by my own reaction. I wasn't even shocked, i was like 'ohh, that means we can use it to track her so she can't go missing on us' (i know it sounds creepy and obsessive and yeah, it is)
None of us expect this from Peanut butter, she, who is so respectful of others. Maybe the madness of our crazy year at school finally got to her? PH_ was beyond shocked, she looked at us both and went, 'i thought i was insane. But really, i am the most sane one here. One cries for 18 hours and the other tracks me. Just great'.
Nonetheless, we are still friends. Peanut butter asked for forgiveness and all was fine again!! Yay! At least for now.....
So that was when i realized how obsessive we were. One became self destructive while the other started to stalk. Not good! But we work through it and push forward! We love you, PH3. No matter what.

I'm coming in late to @m0tiv8me and the no excuse November challenge but why not take part?
I'm trying to heal my hip issues - my appointment to hopefully get a referral for physical therapy is in two weeks. Today I paid out of pocket a second time for a sports massage because while it hurt last time it really did help. The therapist I saw told me that I need to build quite a bit of muscle if I don't want to be playing whack a mole with joint issues (hypermobility disorder) my whole life. And that I need to have a personal trainer in person with me for at least a few months so I can learn the moves correctly (hypermobility means I can fold in lots of... Not great ways that hurt me and I don't even realize my form is wrong). So I'm trying to figure out how I can make that work, it might just have to wait until next school year when I put my youngest into part time preschool so I don't have to try to find daytime childcare for her.
On the plus side, I can start doing lap swimming tomorrow when my older kids have swim lessons (twice a week for two weeks but then we have a break before the next session). I have a friend with a child in the same class so she can sit with my youngest and watch our kids in the water while I swim for 20-30 minutes. I need to pick up ear plugs tomorrow after I vote though.
I did some stretching/foam rolling/yoga before my massage appointment and did twenty minutes of upper body dumbbells and a ten minute core video this afternoon. I'm really excited that I can use my 15 pound dumbbells now, and I only have to use my 5s on a few exercises. I will go for a walk tonight with one of my friends and it looks like I'm on track to drink enough water today as well. Pretty excited about the walk, honestly, since we haven't had a long walk and talk in almost a week.

Besides, he liked listening to her talk, even if it was something silly. She always looked so well put together, and she always smelled amazing.
“Ari are you ready?”
“Yeah, coming out.” Ari snapped out of his thoughts and he turned to leave the bathroom. He opened the door, and heard more voices than from when he went in. As he came around the hallway something bright pink ran into him full force.
“Oops!” A sweet voice gasped.
Ari gripped the wall to keep them both from toppling over. The pink object braced as well, pushing off of Ari’s chest. She looked up at him and Ari tensed, his throat even tightened, and he held his breath.
Sable smiled up at him, her hair was so beautifully done in soft waves, her lashes were large and fanned out, her nails were super cute and done pink with pearls, bows, and glitter little jewels.
“Excuse me,” she giggled. She patted Ari’s chest. “Didn’t mean to tackle you like that. Didn’t break anything did I?”
Ari shook his head, slowly taking a breath and standing up right. “I don’t think do. You can try again if you want.”
Sable’s eyes sparkled and she giggled. “You’re silly!” She beamed up at Ari and his heart melted. Her perfume smelled sweet, like soft roses and strawberries.
“It’s always the cute girls who are much stronger than they look,” Ari said offhandedly, but realized what he did say.
Sable’s smile brightened up. “Oh, so your wise to us, are you?” She leaned in close to him again to whisper. “I’ll have to keep my eye on you tonight, just so you don’t give away any of my secrets.”
“I wouldn’t-” Ari said breathlessly.
Sable winked. “I gotta make sure. You don’t mind right?”
Ari swallowed. “I suppose. As long as you promise not to hurt me.”

Benny is a local hair stylist and beautician who works in a salon down the block. He makes a big deal out of giving customers their dream hair style, and he’s very popular with older women and high school students. He gives the best hugs, since his arms are so big and his belly is slightly soft.  He’s very particular with his own hygiene regimen, so his skin is always so soft and he smells amazing. He says it’s important for work, but he’s always done it. Because of his clientele he hears lots of stories and gossip, which makes him the epicenter of chat within the salon as well as his beloved cafe across the street.
Benny is a great storyteller too. He knows how to gather a crowd and pull them in, happy to talk to anybody. But really, Benny is easily embarrassed, but hides it well. He much prefers his days off where he gets to stay home in just pajama pants and fuzzy slippers. His feet get cold easily, and anything that makes them warm pleases him. He loves coffee and tea, and has surprisingly fancy equipment for it in his place. He loves showing it off to people, making them complicated drink just to make them smile.
While he was in school for becoming a beautician and stylist, he worked in his family’s mortuary. His uncle had a dark sense of humor that rubbed off on him, but it’s a taste he rarely gets to sling around in the salon. But occasionally when he’s relaxed enough with someone he lets it fly.
Benny’s ability to be easily embarrassed has left him worried about dating. But he dreams of having a partner he can spoil and take care of, someone he can cuddle and spend his quiet days together without much worry of having to keep up the chat or performance he does at the salon. He wants to figur eout their favorite drink and make it for them when they look down or happy.

Her then going to a massage therapist school while odd was figured to just be a hobby. Finding out how she was putting all together? Let's just say she only see's her parents on holidays if ever. But Ana finds her work very fulfilling, it helps people connect in a way and it teaches them to be a bit more comfortable in themselves. She is very professional, her clients might get some sexual release from her massages but that's not the purpose of her massage and no overt sexual moves are being made by her and she gets nothing out of it. Not that 90% of her exes actually believe that. She's dipped her toes into so many different walks at this point she has many friends, though few truly close ones, but sometimes it can seems she knows just about anyone. And is always happy to bring to friendly acquaintances together for whatever they might need.
Overall Ana has found a way to get the connection she was always longing for as a child with plenty of friends she cares for but she can't deny she does wish she had a proper partner to share her life with. But for now her friends and Hamsters will have to do.

Gonna be honest as much as lockdown helped me mentally, gave me time and what I needed to actually do well in school and helped set me up for my future it completely fucked up the career path I had intended to take, I was a boxer and I was on track for going pro when lockdown hit and I could still train on my own and with my dad and brother but I couldn’t properly train with my coach who is/was great gave me the programmes that I needed.
But at the end of lockdown it was too late for me the opportunity was gone, I was still fit I just wasn’t in the fighting shape I was in before.
Now I’m studying sports therapy, learning all about human physiology, how to teach the correct methods to use gym equipment and also all the body weight exercises, and let’s not forget studying Swedish massage.
I get that, getting back into golf after lockdown was hard. But I’m glad you’re studying something you enjoy and have fun doing it!

Migraine Remedies 101
I recently posted about Red Light Therapy, but that is not the first light for me to try this out with-I also have been using a Green Light one for Migraines. I realized I did not have a post about Migraines, and I needed to right that wrong right away.

My Background:
I like to start with my background on these kinds of posts. I am 32 years young when I write this post. My grandmother, on my mothers side, has bad migraines. Her mom? In the early 1900's she had them worse, and medicine was far less advanced than it was now. Great Grandma had them, Grandma has them, mom has them-the writing for that trait was on the wall for me. The thing is, they should of started in my 20's or 30's. When did they start? When I was 2 or 3, how? I was sick from something, not sure as early parts of my story are lost to me, and my mom decided to give me a spinal tap to determine the cause. I was told, that she was told not to put a pillow under my head the night of the procedure, and she thought I looked uncomfortable so she went against that. I have dealt with migraines on a daily ish basis since I was 3 years old.
Growing up, my father has a steady job with the union so anytime we needed to go the doctor, we could. At one point, I saw a neurologist and he told me to try watching my sleep, caffeine, and diet/food allergies. Beyond that, which I still use to this day-my great grandma's remedies have been way more helpful. There are some doctors that I talk to about what I do and use, and they tell me they are JUST NOW teaching it in medical school. So I know what I am talking about.

I wish I could of found a better visual for this, but location of the pain will tell you a lot in how you handle it. Keeping your triggers in mind, attack your pain with an informed strategy.
Remedies:
Sleep: Keep a consistent sleep schedule, and wind down before bed with no electronics
Caffeine: Try watch how much you have. You can try a caffeine pill, but there are some foods that have it too.
Diet: I watch what I eat in general but I also avoid MSG, Yellow #40, Red#40, and Blue#40.
Vitamins: D3 and Coq10 are prenatal vitamins that are also great migraine prevention. I had way less migraines when pregnant, however brief.
Ice: Ice pack on the location of the pain spot. I would always suggest wrapping the ice pack in a rag.
Migraine Glasses: This is kind of new, the eyes of someone who has migraines tends to work harder to be "normal" and focus so there are lenses that have the eye work less. Otherwise in general, glasses that help with the blue light glare of electronics helps eyes. One of the worst symptoms of migraines is light sensitivity.
Massage: Gently with fingers or a small machine, bringing blood flow to the area helps the body to heal itself.
Darkness/Nap: Your body can heal itself if you let it shut down other functions and focus on the task at hand.
Relax: Hard to imagine you can do when it seems like your head is pounding, but the sooner you can do it, the better you will be.
Green Light Therapy: You can find this on Amazon. I find this to be very helpful. It is better if you use it more often, not just when its really bad.
Medicine: General migraine medicine usually can do the trip, but if it is hormonal then you need a premysn (or something like that). Sinus issues? Take a sinus med, its a sinus headache. Medicine is a last resort, one I will use to stay productive or avoid the ER.
I might try Foot Reflexology one time as a possible remedy. Cupping or acupuncture could be good too, but I am not the person to do that. I have heard of Botox helping? But have never done that. I hope this helps! What would you add to this list?
