He didn't do it because he was some sort of psychopath, it's because he cared a lot about the effects these criminals were having on innocent people. Because he can relate. His anger has nothing to do with his supposed "hispanic" background which is still - ?!?!? Why is this even a thing.

im thinking like the readers father gets smacked in the face with reality bc bes constantly avoiding the problem, it definitely does smth to him, and im guessing fuyumi is uncomfortable along with shoto and rei is like the readers father, smacked in the face with reality even though she already knew what was happening, the kiss js kinda solidified it

they definitely have conversations about it, but the length and depth of the conversations depends on who the discussion is between. so, for example, we know reader’s father likes to turn a blind eye to this a lot of the time; he can’t deny it now that it has been directly and explicitly shoved in his face, but that doesn’t mean he wants to talk about it. as such, he will often deflect or completely shut rei down when she tries to discuss it (which infuriates her to no end; there are their CHILDREN for christ’s sake!!). fuyumi and shouto talk about it the most—it’s usually just standard sibling gossip, but they criticize a lot. sometimes rei will be included in these conversations, though she usually shuts them down faster than when it’s just the two of them because she’s made so uncomfortable and disgusted by the whole thing. sometimes natsuo will join in, if he happens to be around while they’re discussing it (tho they often try not to talk about it around him, since he’s so close to touya and such a little shit disturber), but he’s rarely serious about it, usually just cracking jokes and giggling about it all, which annoys the rest of his family. they also know that whatever they say around him will be reported back to touya, verbatim—not that that matters very much, anyway.

they have an inkling about natsuo and his involvement within this whole deplorable relationship, but no one bothers directly asking him because no one truly wishes to know (ignorance is bliss). natsuo makes this worse by hinting at things when he IS included in those discussions about touya + reader, but he mostly does it just to watch his siblings squirm and to feel some sort of power over them, knowing he can cause such discomfort so easily. he never explicitly admits to it, though. i don’t think he would even if he WAS directly asked, because he loves keeping them suspended in that uncertainty, never giving them true closure. instead, he would respond with cryptic remarks that never fully answer the question he’s being asked; and if they push, they’ll be subjected to his explosive temper.

so yeah, you pretty much got it in your last paragraph there!!! rei is more disappointed than anything else. despite knowing the truth, she couldn’t help but hope she was somehow, miraculously, wrong. it hurts a lot to know that she was right all along.
