I always loved his concept design when it came to that skull in his fur. It just seemed clever in a way🙂!! Anyways, I don't like the 2nd image that much since I don't usually draw him w sharp teeth (I'm sorry, I just don't like how every character in that show has sharp teeth😥!)

it genuinely baffles me that people still think vox is some precious baby that needs to be protected and kept from val at all costs. are we like... are we watching the same show?

okay i have to say i am actually a strong defender of Snake That Makes You Evil. it sounds stupid on paper but thats only if u take it at face value? i do actually think the concept is crazy good what with the venom slowly corrupting how garmadon thinks about things and him being fully aware but unable to stop it.
its also not Just the venom that makes him evil. in the spinjitzu brothers books you can actively watch the fsm and wu and… really EVERYONE around garmadon become more and more wary of him despite not much really changing. it becomes a permanent blight on him that he is repeatedly told he needs to cure. but he hasnt really even changed in his own eyes
i personally prefer it to have been a pure fateful accident but the involvement of the overlord in the bite makes it arguably even more tragic. it becomes more than a childish mistake. garmadon was doomed from the moment he was born.

for anyone else who thought backslide sounded familiar i uh. i think i found out why
#twenty one pilots#TØP#tøp#backslide#stressed out#the drumbeats are almost _identical_#i can post the track where i laid them over each other#its fucking wild yo#also btw other than syncing up the tracks the _only_ editing i did was remove a tiny bit of silence from a bit of backslide#so the second halves lined up better#they werent even a full beat off it was just like. a quarter beat#i did the reverse too (overlaid backslides vocals on stressed out's instrumental) but it required more editing to make it sound as good#the timing doesnt work out quite as well naturally#still sounds great tho!

#im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones#is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme.........#its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid#i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over#theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later#especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure#interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries..#god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and#cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! HOW DO YOU MAKE THE#CHARACTERS SPIN??? AND CHANGING CAMERA ANGLES??? and keep in mind youre doing this all with a shitty stylus#on a THREE BY TWO INCH SCREEN. you only get two layers you can go up to 29FPS and you only have 999 slides to work with#and 24FPS eats up a lot of that. absolutely insane it literally boggles my mind every time i think about it. AND SOME ARE EVEN FULL COLOR#i forgot how popular EDM was back then too...they were really good for timing beats though so you get a lot of MVs with#strobe last and marble soda. porter robinsons goodbye to a world was also popular with undertale and oc MVs. also a lot of vocaloid#someone made a flipnote abt the warner bros fnaf movie being announced EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AGO. it even used the stay calm audio from#the office.... i wonder how theyre doing now... i love you shitty grainy MV audio.. but i have mixed feelings abt the flashing colors#ppl LOVED animating the sans vs frisk fight. aishite and primadonna were also big ones they were SICK AS FUCK#lots of these inspired my old oc designs.. a lot of my characters had side bangs with one eye covered. animal ears and simple eyes too#now i kinda wanna try my hand at the marble soda meme cause i loved it as a kid lol.. i wonder if i should compare my old and new art here#UGHHHH IM SO NORMAL ABOUT NOSTALGIA. actually one of us is lying being filmed in new zealand actually makes a shit tonne of sense because it's a common thing wherein when tv shows and movies "fake" a setting they understandably try and show as little of the setting as possible (makes sense) and tbh i realised we didnt really see a lot of the town of bayview.
still find it absolutely hilarious that there was an australian pretending to be an american accused of killing an irishman pretending to be american in new zealand pretending to be america. its actually so weird when you think of media that way. the australian played a very good american bad boy but once i knew, yeah that man knows what triple j is.
#also the setting of the pilot felt instinctively more north american than the rest of series one#the pilot was filmed in canada btw#i actually mentioned this in my authenticity problem essay#honestly looking back i can see why i probs didnt get as good of a mark as i had hoped there#because honestly the issues i discuss in that essay are not limited to history. it was a film studies essay#but back to the point of my point of my point#there are these things called authenticity effects which cue an audience into seeing a setting as authenti ceven if its not filmed there#for instance in my essay and the netherlands i basically went okay the iconography of amsterdam like bikes and canal streets helped#(i still think they could have done a better job with language lol)#basically a non dutch viewer (broad audience) would not have to suspend their disbelief but a dutch viewer absolutely would#because the non dutch viewer would go. canals. bikes. yeah this is dutch#i say non dutch viewer but i was absolutely the outlier here#in the case of one of us is lying the typical american high school iconopgraphy of the bleechers helped me go “this is america”#those typically american things werent really there in later episodes#and then what cued me to look at the filming location was the street scene when they confront the teacher#i realised that was one of the first times i actually saw a street scene with houses and suburbia and something felt off#i also remember a show called nine perfect strangers and i couldnt watch it bc it was filmed in australia but they passed it off as america#suspension of disbelief... gone#anyways idk what this post is so yippie
