Klance's queer baiting by the team was the worst!! We had to deal with NETFLIX ALSO GETTING IN ON THE QUEER BAITING!! If you searched up Kkance during the times for season 6-8, the SHOW WOULD POP UP. The directors would make jokes about it being canon, even Lance's VA got in the joke!

Their queer baiting was the worst for anyone who was even looking for an ounce of queer rep in that show. The only queer rep we got was a man who died after not even 5 minutes on screen, and shoehorned in the credit scene of a gay wedding of a character that was neither Keith nor Lance.

I do not know Agatha and Sophie, so I can't argue that klance was bigger bait or not, I just know voltron was mean lmao. the creators said stuff like "lance will be someone's first choice!" (meaning NOT ending up in a relationship with allura bc she very much chose another guy over him) and heavily implying he would be Keith's 1st choice (or a guy in general bc of point number 2). point number 2: they also released official art showing how super cool and diverse the main cast was! race! gender! LGBT - they had shiro (who was......canon gay but that's a whole other can of worms) and lance hold the sign with LGBT on it and then did absolutely nothing with that w lance at all (he hit on allura, so obvi he's not gay, but at least bi or smt) (UNLESS you count the scenes where he's flirty with keith). I just remember going into the last few seasons being like "klance probably won't be happen be honest with yourself there's like no queer kids shows!! but damn like it so could tho!!! because of how much it's been teased both in the show and by showrunners like I can't have no hope with the way the producers talk about it!" lmao I should have had no hope, but i genuinkey believed there was a possibility it could happen. and actually I discovered after the fact that i think one of the writers for the show who was the main advocate for klance (they had a lot of diff writers for eps, which led to lots of character butchering but ANYWAY) left not terribly long into the show I believe bc he didn't like the direction it was moving in and didn't want to be tied to the show anymore. so it's not like fans just made klance up either - it was written into earlier episodes with the hope and plan to continue developing later, and then just nothing ever happened with it besides INTENSE teasing it to keep queer fans around. esp after shiro's relationship was literally only a flashback and then his fiance thing or whatever got blown up before we even got to watch him interact w shiro as we knew him in present time in s7, so I think they kept being like hmmm klance and the stuff about lance being a first choice before s8 to keep ppl around. also esp bc klancers made up such a big portion of the fan base. then they made a horrible szn and ended it w a flashforward to shiro marrying some random background character who maybe had 1 line? I just remember hitting the flashforward and being like uhhhh who is this dude??? but they did that to hit those diversity points wow first gay marriage in a cartoon or smt idk it doesn't count to me really. so anyway voltron in general is queerbait lol but klance is because it started out as a legit possibility and then they said sike! but only maybe sike bc u guys are mad at us burying our guys in s7 so maybe klance could still happen haha okay now we're serious no it's not happening. anyway I think klance is p bad queerbait and a vote for them is a valid vote, not just u liking the ship.

chapter 1

You stroll into the small diner as if you have been there hundreds of times, due to the fact because you have. It is your first and only choice of a lunch date location with your dear friend, Eliza. You would say it is because it’s because it has the best food and the desserts are to die for, but it’s really because of how affordable it is. Despite the food being subpar, the diner is still very cozy and the waitstaff is friendly whenever you dine there. The place isn’t very busy today, with only an elderly couple and a young lady studying in the right corner being the other people.

You hardly need to scan the room before you see her in the far left corner, sipping quietly on her latte. You grin at the sight of the back of her unruly blonde hair and as quietly as possible, creep over to her. As you get closer you notice she has her headphones on, blinding her to any noise approaching her.

Perfect.

A hand quickly grasps her shoulder and she curses loudly, accidentally spilling a bit of her drink onto the table.

“Shit! Why! Why did you do that?”

You giggle and slide into the booth across from her, grabbing napkins and cleaning as you go.

“You make it easy,” you respond nonchalantly.

“No, you’re just a fucking ninja.”

“I don’t need to be a ninja to sneak up on someone who is making themselves deaf.” You respond eyebrow raised. She rolls her eyes and shrugs off her headphones. “So, what did you want to tell me about?” you question.

“What, no greetings? Hi, how are you, my darling friend?”

“I think we are beyond that point if we’re being honest. Besides, we were on the phone on my drive over here.”

“What I wanted to talk to you about was-“

Moving on then, I see.

“-you do not have to pay rent during your trip next week.”

You pause, interest immediately piqued. This could go one of two ways. One, the most probable answer, she has come up with one of her outlandish plans that we both know hold no real meaning to them, just to entertain you. Or, there’s a small chance it could be option two. She actually has found a valid, soundproof way to save you hundreds on hotel fees.

“… I’m listening.”

“I knew you would be,” She quips with a cheeky smile. “So you know my totally loser brother? The one who lives in England?”

Ah, yes. Adam. Her weirdo brother who chose to make bombs as a career. Not the most friendly or stable man you’ve met, but hey family is family.

“Don’t tell me you want me to stay with him. I think I would rather get shot down in a plane than have to converse with him for longer than an hour.” You groan and rest your face into your hands.

“Nooo, I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemies. Yuck. As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, he’s going out of the country for a month or so, to Germany. Sooo…?”

“...So? I don’t see how this correlates.”

“Seriously?! You can stay at his place while he’s gone. Duh!”

“Hmmm… no.”

“Wha- no!? You can’t just say no! I already told him you would.“ Eliza starts raising her voice, accidentally attracting the attention of the student in the other corner. The lovely elderly couple either don’t notice or don’t seem to mind.

“Why in the WORLD would you do that? And lower your voice!”

“Because he wanted me to house-sit for him, and what’s the difference between me and you sitting in an empty cabin for a few weeks? Plus, not only is it not costing you money, you get PAID to stay there.”

Damn. She’s got you there. You sigh and rub your temples, feeling a migraine coming on.

“Okay, let me get this straight. I can just fly over there, live in your brother's cabin for up to a MONTH, for FREE, and get paid to do it. But he thinks it’s you staying there?”

“Yeah, but I mean a body’s a body,” she shrugs.

“Huh. I don’t know, Liz. This feels weird. “

“It’s not weird, I swear. I wouldn’t put you in a weird situation and we both know it. “

She does have a point, but you can’t shake the feeling that something unexpected is going to occur during your stay. Still, that could just be the nerves getting to you. This could be a really fun opportunity! You get to lay back and enjoy the nice open countryside, all by your lonesome.

“Okay, say it hypothetically agree. Where would I get a key to his place?” you question. “It seems suspicious to ask him to copy a key for me to use.”

“Just use mine. I had one made during my last stay, I’m pretty sure he knows about it. Like, 87 percent sure.”

You sigh. You can’t comprehend that she had a plan that made logical sense, let alone convinced you to go along with it.

“Okay. I’ll stay there.”

Yes! Let’s fucking go! We are going somewhere nice to dinner with the house-sitting money, by the way. “

You just smile and shake your head in return.

The day of your trip finally arrives and everything is going relatively smoothly. Although you about had 5 heart attacks every time you couldn’t feel your passport in your pocket, you landed in one piece. The flight was long and boring, but you had Chappell Roan and Podcasts downloaded to listen to. The drunk guy sitting next to you did end up spilling water on you, of course. Just your luck.

Nonetheless, your mood was sky-high. Months of planning and preparation have gone into this, and it better be everything you expected and more. Or else some tea is going in the damn harbor. You decided against using transport services mainly because of how remote Adam’s cabin was, it would be extremely tedious just to get a ride to go grocery shopping. Instead, you went with renting a vehicle. Sure, you initially entered the wrong side of the car and almost caused an accident or two, but hey! Nobody’s perfect.

You finally, FINALLY, pull into the small gravel driveway. There are hardly any neighbors around, the closest probably being a mile or two away, so you don’t feel self-conscious about your parking job. You inspect the cabin as you heave your luggage out of the car and onto the front porch.

It was a fairly large log cabin with a second story and a garden in the back. There were hardly any cobwebs on the porch, and the cabin looked well taken care of. The garden seemed to have a selection of different vegetables, but not any flowers. Figures, Adam was the kind to say taking care of flowers was a waste of time and energy. As you put Eliza’s spare key into the door knob, you felt a rush of excitement. You couldn’t wait to just do whatever you want for a few weeks. You turn the key and push the door open.

9. i think it depends on how you look at it. young baby councillor fintan is definitely doomed i think. but evil bitch neverseen fintan has deliberately chosen all his actions and therefore i think is more doomed by himself than the narrative if anything. obviously though the series hasn’t ended yet so. we’ll have to see.

Hmmm I'm still not totally clear as to what a comfort character is vs. like a favorite character, but I must have some idea because I'm inclined to pick Hamid for this one. Idfk he's just a little guy, he's been here the whole time, growing and changing, he's problematic but trying his very best, and he's too cute. He screams comfort.

While I'm at it with the over-answering, Oscar Wilde. I like that even when he's being a pain in the ass on purpose he's quite clearly just a good guy if you read even slightly between the lines. Trusted him with my life ever since the anti-bertie article, and he only got better and better. I want him to have nice things forever and let's face it he got the nicest thing (Zolf) so I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it.

I think answering this question actually kind of helped me figure out what the difference between a favorite and a comfort character is, and why I didn't feel right picking Zolf here. Zolf stresses me out but it's fun.

Considering most of them are non-human I'm going to cheat and instead pick my favorite human character which is Sasha. She changed so much over time but was great from start to finish, and I can't stress how happy I am that she got to live a full and at least somewhat peaceful life.

Sumutnyerl's abrupt death so far from home in such miserable circumstances and the way the timing made it impossible for anyone around to have time to mourn mildly devastated me (thank you Skraak). Not to mention the way Tesla took advantage of their relationship and the guilt she must've felt and how that didn't get explored beyond one night she was miserable and resetless and the next day she was dead. Super brutal when life and death for the NPC's is controlled by cold chaotic dice rolls (and whether or not a player character is in love with you 😉).

hmmm the first thing that came to mind was people tacking on 'she deserved better' in the tags of Every Single Post About Martha Jones Ever cos i think its stopping people engaging properly with her character? like she did deserve better but you can still like her. she's still super cool and her character is very interesting. but i think the main one is people saying thirteen was badly written or they didnt like the timeless child or the flux was badly made, respectfully I DONT CARE :D. I LOVE THIRTEEN I THOUGHT THE TIMELESS CHILD STUFF WAS FASCINATING AND COOL. the flux was kinda confusing i will admit but I STILL LIKED IT. Bro do you know what would be so silly goofy? If I made characters from literature that I really like(Frankenstein & The Catcher in the Rye mainly) in Sims 4. None of them are *horrible* but omg it might just be because dystopian fiction has grown a lot since the book's release but everyone is soooo boring. Like Montag is quite literally just your every man who learns about the evil of society. His wife is just the person to show what society's effect on people are. Beatty is a little interesting since he's a hypocrite but...still idk. Clarisse is just the one who makes Montag question his society. Yknow what I mean? The characters feel more like archetypes or plot devices then fully developed characters.

I realize now that might be the point since everybody is supposed to be the same, if so, nice. I still don't like it but I can mayhaps see the purpose of it.

I think I like narratives where yes there is a plot but the characters are...characters with thoughts and emotions and you see how the plot effects them heavily. Goodness especially with Frankenstein, you *see* how much distress Victor is in after he creates his creature. In The Catcher in the Rye, I won't give spoilers, but you *see* his distress *a lot* as the plot happens. That's what interesting to me and that's what I feel was lacking in Farenheit 451 to make it personally interesting to me.

Not to say it was horrible, so 6.5/10 or so. It's far from the worst book I've ever read.

Now, I don't really know if it's the worst book I've read, but the worst reading expierence I had with a book was The Hobbit. I think this was only because I had no idea what was going on and because I was in 6th grade when I read it so yknow. Whose to say? I might enjoy it if I actually paid attention lol bc Frankenstein was kinda hard as shit to understand at points but damn the story was on top, so maybe the same is true for The Hobbit.

(Maybe Lucien’s past can be reworked and stuff for this angle because I don't think Jurian would get above a hate fuck level with Beron if he knows about the Jesminda stuff) and maybe Beron has only been going with the tide in terms of humans and just not really caring about human slaves and just adapts to keep his family afloat

But Beron definitely meets Jurian with this set up and it's definite enemies to 'I will never admit I love you' type dynamic at best, at worst... it's real bad

Or it could turn into mutual erotic torture porn who knows

But I do find this relationship to be temporary and very tempting to the both of them

Imagine Beron and LoA just having a conversation about this and Beron just hands in the air, astounded that his mate is literally the leader of the human rebellion?? And betrayed Clythia, and cut her up into pieces in revenge?? The way this man might be a little weirded out for thinking that's hot, anyway

Also Beron and LoA aren't perfect parents but they're definitely the winning parents of the millenia

Also, maybe they've slowly been working together to weaken the power the nobles of the Court have over them and do a little bit of spring cleaning cough and they use this power imbalance between the fae and humans to gain more power and advocate for facing Hybern and siding with the humans because of the threat they pose (maybe humans could use magic but it was dwindling by Feyre's time) and maybe Beron and LoA just have personal distaste for cruelty and have been trying to fight for power so they can make better lives for their citizens and children

(Also instead of magic choosing the successor, it goes by typical lineage bloodline, that way Beron and LoA's position in the court is not as secure)

In this, maybe Jurian was a slave and servant to Clythia who took her along her war campaign as entertainment and company, and this is when Jurian kills her after gathering the othering human slaves they brought with them

Beron plays an active role in the rebellion and LoA acts as the High Lady of the Autumn Court during his absence and that's where we get Jurian and Beron shenanigans with them falling in love and whatnot

Cute stuff until Amarantha kills Jurian and Beron finds out about it after the victory of a battle when his magic suddenly twists on itself

So he doesn't know that Amarantha kept Jurian barely alive as an eyeball in a ring

Beron continues to fight in the war in grief and rage and is about to attack Amarantha when the KoH orders their surrender and agreement to sign the treaty (this treaty is only effective in Prythian and Hybern, not on the Continent where human slavery is still practiced into Feyre's time)

Beron returns home and grieves and eventually finds comfort in the life he builds with LoA and his children

But then Amarantha comes back, and curses them, and Beron plays double sides to protect his family and kill Amarantha in revenge

Only to find out she's been keeping a part of Jurian in a fucking eyeball for centuries and his goals shift

He's the one that ends up taking the ring once Feyre breaks Amarantha's curse (might just have there be no curse) or do something completely different

And Beron actually sides with Hybern again as a ploy to destroy from within because 'the tides have changed once again' and I love to characterize Beron as someone whose seen as someone who acts with their court in mind first to protect his own standing

So temporary truce with Hybern and then he finds out about the Cauldron and brings Jurian back to life

But fr, because we're talking about dilfs
