What is your distinction between a tisane and an herbal tea? My understanding is that a tisane is a tea made from plants that aren't the traditional tea plant, and thus would cover everything I normally think of as an herbal tea (e.g. chamomile, mint, cinnamon, various floral teas.)
#polls#tea#personally I usually do milk in black teas and not in herbal#but it's really a case by case basis#there are some black teas I prefer with nothing added#and some herbals I like with milk (most mint teas though not all; also some rooibos teas)#hey wait do other people count rooibos as herbal?#I lump it in bc it's non caffeinated so I can drink it in the evenings when I'm usually drink other herbal teas

Keep making the Binghorse. We gotta ward off people from entering this fandom. We need to keep it pure. I fr don't want this fandom to become famous. I'm scared that there will be toxic fans left and right.
HAHA I absolutely understand the sentiment. I feel a bit contradictory since I want more people to appreciate SVSSS, but the at the same time I like small tight knit communities and I personally canāt handle large fandoms whatsoever. š
Although I do feel as though describing the SVSSS as pure is very funny for how lawless this fandom is. But behavior wise, it is definitely a very positive and supportive space!! I havenāt met anyone or seen anything unpleasant since Iāve entered the fandom. Albeit, itās only been a few months since Iāve started interacting with the fandom, and over half a year since I first read SVSSS, so I have no clue what horror stories the SVSSS fandom has. (I honestly havenāt interacted with that many SVSSS fans tbhā¦. Even though I want to.)
In addition, funny enough, I feel as though the book almost acts as its own barrier of entry. SVSSS isnāt the type of book you can read once unless youāre good at reading against the grain and noticing all the nuances and subtext. I know the first time I read SVSSS, SVSSS disturbed and confused me so badly. I talked to a few other people who read SVSSS once, who said that LBH and SQQās relationship felt like Stockholm syndrome. But people whoāve read SVSSS several times will know, that is not the case, and that SQQ is an INSANELY UNRELIABLE narrator.
I honestly find it funny how effective Binghorse or all the other skin creatures is at filtering toxic fans.š
Thereās always a general reaction to the skin creatures: āOmg, cute!!ā, āwtf, but I like itā, āwtfā. Or getting blocked, or death threats. (I havenāt received anyā¦? I donāt thinkā¦? One message I received is definitely debatable since I canāt tell if itās sarcastic or notā¦.š)
But regardless, Iāll definitely keep drawing Binghorse!!! Itās actually really enjoyable!
#mushyrt#asks#geez why did I write so much#but I genuinely want to analyze this#SVSSS is probably the most wholesome fandom Iāve ever seen#in other fandoms Iāve seen/been in#youād hear tons of horrible shit#but like why is this the case??#is it age range/demographic?#is it the different ways we consume media?#and to continue a little more onto binghorse#itās really hilarious how quickly people have adapted to binghorse#like Iāve been posting Binghorse on a daily basis over a month now#on my Insta stories#and people shift so quickly from being disgusted by binghorse to gradually finding hi#him* cute#man the psychology classes and sociology classes really have changed how my brain worksā¦#I didnāt expect myself to type so much#edit: I was wondering why Binghorse looked so weirdā¦ itās because I forgot to draw his bits of hair at the side of his head š#tw: body horror

When discussing Batfam relationships, there's a tendency to focus on out-of-context 'events'. For example, when discussing Tim and Dick, many people bring up the 'giving away Robin' event without talking about their reconciliation immediately after or their lengthy history of love and brotherhood. Same goes for Tim and Damian; they are almost entirely defined by the early events of their relationship (namely the dinosaur murder attempt and the line-cutting), rather than their more amicable interactions later on, or their nuanced and complicated feelings for each other.
This is possibly why people want Cass and Jason to get along - there's no 'event' to make them dislike each other, so people don't think too hard about whether they would actually be good companions. On the flip side, many people use Batgirl (2008) to say Cass and Dick don't get along, without discussing their reconciliation in Batman and the Outsiders + evidence of their camaraderie elsewhere. (Also ignoring that 2008 is deliberately OOC for Dick).
This is completely understandable. Events are often glossed over in canon, so some of this behaviour stems from desiring a bigger unpacking of certain moments. Also, nobody has read every comic in existence, and of course you'd base your dynamics on what you have read.
However, I think it's important to remember that events don't exist in isolation, and relationships are defined not only by events but by how people interpret and learn from them. Singular events rarely define entire relationships. Personalities, belief systems, and relationships to others affect how events are viewed (case in point: to Tim, the line-cutting is more of an excuse to beat Damian into the ground, rather than a threat to his life. Damian is way more affected by the hit list than Tim is by the line-cutting).
Events definitely have a place in relationships, and I make headcanons based on singular events all the time. But including context, consequences, personalities, and perspectives into discussions makes for richer and more meaningful interpretations.
#batman#tim drake#damian wayne#dick grayson#cassandra cain#this isn't meant to be accusatory or putting anyone down#just that the takes i love the most are ones that put things into context and explore what events actually mean for the characters#like saying 'damian cuts tim's line' doesn't really explain why that happens or what it actually means to either character#also cass throwing dick out a window is hilarious but has to be understood in the context of cass being disillusioned with men in general#dick was a stand-in for all men (it was a weird time in bg 2000 okay)#but also some jokes about out of context stuff is funny#so case by case basis haha

If godot has a million haters, then I am one of them. If godot has ten haters, then I am one of them. If godot has only one hater then that is me. If godot has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against hating godot, then I am against the world.
#the thing is ultimately i don't hate godot a ton on a moment to moment basis. he was a ton of fun as a rival prosecutor#i think he was really fucking funny in every case But bridge to the turnabout.#i just hate how his absolutely contrived character writing ruined the stakes of that case#i will never forgive him for it

Whenever people get mad about the literal discussion of narrative in the context of media analysis, there's always this undercurrent of "Oh? So you want a story with themes and structure and conflict and resolution instead of my booktok/fanfic-approved headcanons? Do you think you're better than me?" And I just want to clear something up: yes. Without a doubt.
#people really out here like must a story have conflict?#and the answer is yes actually it must. hope this helps.#tbh i really do think people dislike criticism on the basis of basic story principles because it's so fundamental#if you don't like a specific character or event people can chalk that up to personal preferences#(or bigotry - whether or not that is actually the case)#but if you actually can delineate the structural flaws they need to have a real argument and that takes effort#unless they take a position of what if I like that the story is poorly crafted. which. ok. live in that dumpster then.

16 - thoma, lisa (idk i'm in love with this woman no matter how sus everyone thinks she is), diluc
[Character Analysis Ask Meme]
Whatās the best way to win Thomaās heart?
Unlike most others, there is not a simple and clean-cut way to winning Thomaās heart. Thoma is the type to fall for the whole of a person, not just for a select few qualities. Like a seed that needs to be consistently watered in order to grow, Thoma needs time and consistency. He needs time to truly see you as someone he can fall for. That being said, even if he falls, donāt expect his heart to belong to you. As it is, there is something that already owns the whole of Thomaās loyalties and attention. He is not in a place where he can give away his heart freely. What would make him willing to give it up? Itās hard to say.Ā
Whatās the best way to win Lisaās heart?
Lisa, at her core, is a simple person. She is the person she presents to the world, and if thereās one thing sheās never hidden, itās her love for cute people. Itās not surprising, then, that itās cute people that she finds herself particularly attracted to. But itās best to keep in mind that cuteness is not confined merely to physical appearances. It is a state of being. Even the most burly of people can be the cutest things in the world.
If you donāt consider yourself the cutest, it always helps being interested in her first. Why? Well, you canāt expect her not to notice and leave you be. Expect attempts to fluster you while acting coy. Thereās nothing cuter than a blushing and flustered expression caused solely by her, after all. And if thereās one thing she loves, itās cute people.
Whatās the best way to win Dilucās heart?
What puts Diluc at a higher difficulty than most is his reclusion from others. While Diluc treats his workers with gratitude and respect, wellā¦ itās safe to say that he doesnāt exactly have the most friends. Those that know him well that itās not due to his personality, but because of personal choice. Thus, if thereās anything that you need to be to win this manās heart, itās persistence. Even when he pushes you away, you will need to stand your ground and enforce yourself as a constant in his life, as a friend. Once youāre able to get past that first hurdle, the path to his heart really will not be too far away.Ā
#genshin x reader#lisa#thoma#diluc#thoma x reader#lisa x reader#diluc x reader#THIS TOOK SO LONG I AM SO SORRY#it's not the best either but i felt really bad for making you wait#it's been slam city at work and i am the ball that was getting slammed around#thoma is a really interesting case as a whole#most people have select qualities that'll make them fall but thoma isn't that kind of person. it's kind of a combination of very many thing#but even then thoma is an extremely loyal person. to give his heart away would be a conflict of interest#even if you were part of the yashiro commission/kamisato estate dating you would take away time and energy that could be spent for the clan#i truly don't know what would make him cave#i think it would be a case by case basis#as for lisa regardless of what happens she wins#you're either cute from the start or she will make you cute#that being said does she fall in love with you because you are cute? not necessarily#you being cute is what causes her to notice your existence. and it's in noticing your cuteness that she will eventually notice /you/#does that make sense?#and as for diluc actually a lot of different personalities could work for him tbqh#you could be sweet or annoying or whatever and it probably could work#the common variable in every case is persistence#you need to both be persistent to be a consistent in his life (see what i did there?)#that being said i do want to key into the fact that not all personalities have the trait of persistence#it's usually associated with people that are caring nosy friendly energetic etc#so it's within that group of personalities that would be the most likely to win his heart#with diluc it's a very much an 'opposites attract' sort of situation#i want to say that its very much an attraction and longing for the innocence and hope that was so cruelly stolen from him

Can we get a ranking of speedsters most to least likely to kill
This thing is gonna be an upside down pyramid. Jesus, okay.
Tier 1 (Have killed, will kill)
Jay, Max, Dawn, Don
Tier 2 (Have killed, will kill again but is more prone to torture when angry and/or threatened)
Barry, Bart, Wally
Tier 3 (Hasn't killed but will if needed)
Avery, Ace, Jesse, Jenni
Tier 4 (Actual child)
Irey, Jai, Wade
My explanation for this? Simple. Tier 1 is all people who have actively fought in wars. Jay fought Nazis, he killed people in WW2. That's just what happened. He doesn't feel bad about it. Jay avoids killing people now because he isn't at war currently, but he will kill and has killed if he absolutely has to.
Max has also fought in wars and he has had a long and storied past throughout history. The man has seen and done things. Not all of them good. But yeah, Max has killed. Will he kill again? Unlikely. Unless someone is threatening his daughter or Bart, in which case, yes, it's very likely.
Dawn and Don also fought in a war and killed entire platoons of Dominators. They're unlikely to kill again because they're dead. But if they weren't dead? I'm pretty sure they'd still be fine with killing people in wartime situations.
Tier 2 is a little bit more complicated. Barry, Wally and Bart have all killed people. It's a last resort for them but it's still always an option. If they have to kill the bad guy to save the civilian then they'll kill the bad guy no questions asked. Some people have to die for the time stream to function correctly? Sure. Okay. Especially bigger bads like Darksied. They had absolutely no problem killing Darksied. Oh, and you better watch out if you threaten their loved ones because the people they love are worth dying and killing for.
They don't like it. They really don't like it. But they'll do it.
(Honestly though? Bart is unnerving unfazed by it)
Tier 3. So... This may come as a surprise but I actually haven't read all the LoSH comics? So while I'm fairly certain Jenni hasn't killed anyone, I can't say that 100%. Either way, she'd be down for it if it was the only option.
Avery would 100% be down for murder. So would Ace. That's the Iris West influence right there. Those two kids are not afraid to get their hands dirty and, while I'm fairly certain they haven't yet, I have no doubt that they will. These two just inherited Iris' moral code and she's totally fine with homicide.
Jesse surprises me because she's gotta have killed someone. I'm wracking my brain and nothing comes to mind but I don't buy that for a second. She's just got that homicidal energy, you know? She's 100% done it and will again, I just can't remember when it was.
Tier 4 is the children. Now... to be clear. I'm not saying that they haven't killed anyone because they are children. No, I'm actually fairly positive they have killed a significant amount of people. I'm saying that they are children and therefore do not understand the concept of death. They don't really understand that they've killed people and I don't really think they are any more or less likely to kill again. Until they understand it they are just destructive forces of nature. No malice or intent. Just sheer raw power.
#Irey and Jai have killed a truly insane amount of people for how young they are#its inspiring honestly#Bart is wild because he's honestly like 'Oh No! Anyway-' when it comes to killing people#Barry is like 'Dang that sucks... going to jail i guess?' The man is fine with it. not happy but doesn't really regret it either#but also he can and will turn himself in. like... hes aware of the consequences and he's ready to face them when he kills#meanwhile Wally handles it the worst out of all of them#well. sometimes. he did throw Eobard into space one time hoping that he would die#so... it's a case by case basis#dc#dc comics#the flash#kid flash#wally west#impulse#bart allen#barry allen#speedsters#jay garrick#max mercury#jai west#surge#irey west#thunderheart#ace west#wade west#jesse chambers#jesse quick#avery ho#dawn allen#don allen

nobody's doing it like itsuki yyh. i've been thinking about him and sensui a lot today but like. ok get this. imagine being a demon and this cute human guy (you are gay btw green hair and pronounsed and everything) shows up and tries to kill you and almost succeeds. you survive because you lament that you're gonna miss the finale of a show you watch/see a niche pop artist on tv (depending on adaptation, but either way these are your last words and it airs the next night), and he says he's into it too. you become partners. this man, shinobu sensui, is a spirit detective who's been haunted by demons his whole life, has been killing them with the complete, unwavering belief that he's right for it, since he was in pre-k. you being a demon does not seem to change how he thinks about this. it doesn't change your feelings either, since he fascinates you. you help him kill demons.
one day, your human is confronted with one of the worst sights imaginable, one that shatters his worldview completely. he sees demons being tortured and slaughtered hedonistically by a group of humans. he can't process it. he splits. your shinobu is now one of seven within his body. you love each of them. you love him. you watch as he pivots into a deep hatred of humanity, and of himself for slaughtering so many demons, and of his own inescapable humanity. you love it. you can't get enough of it. watching someone so pure and self-assured become confused, disillusioned, twisted, evil, broken, it thrills and captivates you. it's beautiful, and you egg it on. you make it worse, obsessively. you make him worse. you only want what he wants, really. but you want him to want it worse. sensui is spiraling and you don't steady him, you accelerate it and accelerate it, until he's deciding that before he dies (which will be sooner than you'd like, sooner than you know what to do with), he's going to end humanity. he's going to unleash demonkind on them and secure his redemption, his doom, his punishment. it's a baptism by fire. what a way to go. a very sensui way to go, and you love it like the rest of him: poisonously. you don't need a word of convincing, no argument (as desperate as sensui is to argue his case for this), not a second of that tape, to follow him. you watch as sensui breaks the fragile people he encounters, wrenches them into misanthropic weapons. he's amazing at it. minoru is amazing at it. he brings together his crew of heart-bleeding, self-loathing pawns, and in your downtime you and sensui watch human tv, share your love for animals, plants, the human world. you cherish, distract yourself with, and celebrate these together. they're what brought you together in the first place, and you will destroy them together. you wonder if he knows that these things he loves will surely die when the demons come. you expect he views them as necessary casualties in ridding the world of human evil. how deliciously cruel he can be. you savor it. you have to savor it. you don't like thinking about the end. that sensui will barely be alive to enjoy his victory. is he so convinced of humanity's foulness that he would never bend, never doubt his genocide at all? or would he come to regret it? would he hate himself even more than he does now? once the greater evil, humanity, is eliminated, would he turn his sights on himself? he may see himself as one of the "enlightened" humans who know mankind's evil, but he is still a human with plenty of demon blood on his hands. you want to know. you're desperate for it. you don't ask him what he thinks he will become. you want to watch it unfold naturally, for as long as he is around. let the ink bleed over the page. don't blow. don't wave the paper, don't even touch it. be patient.
your sensui is killed spectacularly at the finish line. he was struck down by a human reborn as a demon. how fitting. it's what sensui wanted, and you are happy for him, as much as you can be. it's bittersweet. you knew it would end soon. you both did. you talked about it all the time. and now it's... over. the portal is being resealed. demons will not wipe out mankind. humanity will go on, unaffected. your sensui's lonely war against his own kind is already being forgotten by the few who knew of it. such a beautiful moment, swept away by time, your sensui. and now his enemies want to claim his soul. his body. to bring him to the afterlife, for whatever judgement awaits him. and you fulfill your final obligation to him. you take him away. sensui did not want any part of that, and neither do you, not particularly. it sounds rather painful, all considered. you lift him and slip away to where no one can reach you. your own little dimension, your own little pocket of existence, just the two of you. no one can touch him now. you, either, not that you care. you hold him like you have for years, and think of your future together. here, where no one can reach him. no one will touch him or stain him or rip him or tear him ever again, not even you. but you will always be closest, and that's enough. cut off from humankind and demonkind completely. it's only you. and it's only him. you wonder how long you will live, like this. a long time. it makes no difference. sensui has broken completely, and you hold the shards of him. every piece remaining is yours, is in your arms, will be yours forever. you wonder if this should be enough for you. if you should be satisfied. you are. as someone whose last regret was missing a late night program, you don't see much point in leaving. what is there for itsuki without sensui? what is there in the world worthwhile? demons, humans, the rest of it. none of it would ever compare. not even to the shards.
you wonder, and it is far from the first or the last time, how sensui will change now, in your arms. white to black, skin to bone to dust. and when you die your soul will dissipate like his, and in a little unreality you and he will linger forever, where no one can know or recall. you will die a secret of the world, a potential wasted, a close call, a scream that is swallowed last-minute. and you will be together. it's all that's mattered for a long time. you wonder if you'll ever change. you don't expect to.
#whatttt is going on with that guy am i right#also sorry if the use of he/him for sensui bothers y'all i wasn't sure if they/them would be more appropriate post-split#they use he/him in the series and that's generally how he's referred to so i went with that. i imagine it's a case-by-case basis anyhow#and it's not like sensui's the most accurate depiction of DID regardless. so im meeting the show where it's at for this#also sorry i am. anime only. so while there's at least one manga detail in there if some of this reads weird it's probably becuzza that#ANYWAY itsuki is not like to blame for sensui's misanthropic disaster spiral or anything but he's like. defo not helping. and i think that'#really interesting of him. yeah#get you a bf who wants to ruin you genuinely with little regard for you as a person bc they think it's hot.e yeehaw#yyh#yu yu hakusho#itsuki#shinobu sensui#anyway ppl should talk about them more i'm very normal about them i promise#can't wait to get to chapter black again bc i remember less of their dynamic than i'd like#also i didnt proofread this sorry orz

š„ X-men/Krakoa?
Allright let me swing at the hornet's nest here a bit: Krakoa was wasted on the X-Men, not the other way around.
Krakoa was, however problematic and shitty and complicated it might have been even from day one, was onto something enough to generate the intense interest and instant fandom it did, and it's biggest problem wasn't with the forgiving of unrepentant monstrous villains (because that door got blown open forever ago), or the no-humans-allowed policy, or the genocide in Latin America, or the pod people resurrection that took the bite out of every mutant genocide and death past and future, or that the entire premise was built around them trusting the funi haha eugenicist Nazi to build their paradise and let himself be stopped later, or that it kept revolving around the petty courtly intrigues of the arch assholes in charge with only like, two writers capable of propping up this to make it worth reading about. The central problem didn't have as much to do with the fact that the newfound central focus on shadowy detached superhumans huffing their supremacist royalist fumes 24/7 is precisely why nobody likes the Inhumans and especially why nobody liked them as a replacement to the X-Men, and you can't cobble a story out of Magneto/Emma Frost/Mr Sinister mean girl one-liners and hot takes even if that's all the fans want (yes, the X-Men are bastards and so is everyone in the MU, how cutting and insightful and powerful they are yes very impressed, but an Epic Bastard Moments compilation is still not a story). I don't even think it can be entirely blamed on the fact that they had the X-Men speedrun through the 14 rules of fascism as the opening act to a larger story only to decide that actually, we don't need that larger story after all, thanks Hickster but we can just take it from here and keep Stage One as is, everyone's gonna be cool with the cult shit if it still feels like it's going anywhere other than back to the school, we can keep this up forever now! This isn't even a bit, I don't think these things were the biggest cause of death for Krakoa even if they all were there.
I think the biggest problem is that, no matter how many cool or great characters they add to their ranks or what turns into epic pulp sci-fi bombast they take, the X-Men might just be foundationally, irreperably broken as a concept, smothered under the weight of the selling metaphor that just gets more dated and problematic and easier to tear holes into with every passing year, and Krakoa ultimately just elevated all these problems to center stage. There was never going to be a world where Magneto says something as full of shit as "There has never been a mutant war and we've never conquered or stolen land or made slaves and that's why we're better, by the way we're going to be your new gods now" with a straight-face and didn't have that proven immediately wrong (not counting all the people in the Council who absolutely did do all of those things). Krakoa couldn't be both the terra nullius dream clubhouse and the "queer separatist utopia" people desperately craved and a cult backed up by genocide run by self-destructive warmongering hypocrites and a next step in evolution and the headquarters to a superhero team you need to tell monthly exploding punchy stories about and a place that was going to live forever and lead us into the better future and a house of cards waiting to be toppled. It didn't have a future because quite frankly, the mutants don't have a future.
The mutants are, even after all this time, still a half-baked idea of people entirely defined by their oppression, by their death and torture and the hollow space where you're expected to insert your own marginalized traits to identify with instead of much of anything akin to how real marginalized identities are formed and developed and solidified over time. Pretending that the mutants can subsist forever on past shoddy worldbuilding and dated, vague parallels just gets more embarassing over time. It's not an issue individually cool comics or characters are going to fundamentally fix. Krakoa, to it's credit, was some way towards trying to define the mutants past their oppression, but they barely had a language or a flag, and even these attempts were smothered under the Claremontian shadow that's been choking this franchise forever and by the inability of The Big Two to truly hand the reins to anyone other than the same stables of white dudes who always get the final say in everything. Krakoa was Going Somewhere up until it wasn't, and the promise alone breathed a whole new life into the X-books, we really did get some very good comics out of this era, but it was always going to end the way it ended.
Actually scrap all of that, my hot take is, not for racist reasons or anything, but we should destroy the X-Men and replace them with big cool robots that can make us safe forever. Has anyone tried that already?
#replies tag#I really do mourn Fred Dukes as a bartender though#the last years went such a long way towards making a character out of him and addressing all the fatphobia and doing such good work with hi#there were indeed decisions made with the characters in this period I did like#but that's more of a case-by-case basis

Popping into a space I donāt usually occupy on my blog to remind yall that tarot readings need PREPARATION. You need to focus inwards and connect with your energy before doing a reading. You canāt just whip out random cards and hope for the best. Especially if youāre doing a reading because youāre struggling. Youāll probably end up feeling worse. Getting overstimulated by a reading because āit doesnāt make senseā then panicking is very avoidable. It doesnāt make sense because YOU DIDNāT PREPARE AT ALL. It is meaningless.

Remembering the toxic hellscape that was 2015-2019ish SU fandom and just how much hate the show got is really insane when you rewatch the show after it's been a while. Like the show is good what the hell were any of these people talking about
#do NOT quote me on those numbers i pulled them straight out of my ass#like the ending was rushed and the diamonds didnt get to be fully developed but liek#the whole reason that was the case is there was an entire 6th season planned#and then the show got axed early because rebecca sugar and crew refused the back down on the rupphire wedding.#and even rushedness aside like the point of the show was never that you should hug fascists and forgive people no matter what#the diamond were rose's (and his) dysfunctional family whose personal suffering became the basis for the cruelty of gem society#bismuth in The Real World would have been right to want to kill the diamonds as a force of revolution#but the point of the show is that even the most complicated people are still people who can change. even if you dont forgive them#even steven quartz universe the most loving boy in the world very obviously does not like being around the diamonds. but that is how it is#it was a children's show that emphasized compassion and communication and family as themes. of course steven didnt kill the diamonds lol#i really fully believe the stevenbomb format (which was not the crew's choice or fault) cooked peoples' brains#you had months between major arcs so every wrongdoing by a character had months to be warped and misinterpreted and so no resolution could#ever satisfy fans who were festering with their own opinions for way too long#like these arcs looking back are not that long and they resolve in fairly reasonable manners but they took fuckin forever in real time to#wrap up#and ppl on the internet with no other hobbies than arguing made the fandom suck to be in and gave su a bad name#even if you dont like steven universe i think the amount of vitriol thrown at the show is/was fucking INSANE for what it is lmaooo#people were so so jolly to accuse rebecca sugar (a jewish lady) of being a fascist/fash sympathizer and paint every writing shortcoming or#morally dubious character action as a sign of pure fuckin evil#ok that was a long ass fuckin rant in the tags i am so sorry i'm just kind of opinionated on this matter as i am all matters#i've been rewatching su with my dad lately and this very normal and well paced and fun watchthrough experience has been illuminating#just how insane and uncalled for the hellish discourse sphere around su was/is#i say was/is i have no idea what su discourse is like nowadays. i'm too scareds to look in the su crit tag

im still not over how sou could have been The Best My Favourite did representation ever except its not canon and it never will be because nobodys understanding of did extends further than split personality trope. heem heem
#he makes me so emotional hes so good#(the version of sou in my head where this is canon)#honestly you do not need to tweak much At All#hes just wrapped in so many layers of lies that when you pick a certain interpretation of whats true and not it makes a very compelling case#hes like if my snake did headcanon was actually partially supported by the text#my snake did headcanon? completely fanmade. sou did?? theres basis! theres a lot of basis!! and also some intentional pickings#i really like him a lot#i know diagnosing sou with a lot of things creates very compelling character takes#so hear me out on the did ok#this baby can hold so much projection in him and theres a reason because holy fuck his coding#maybe i should use him as a basis as an oc. i know exactly what i would take and expand on if it were me that were writing him

Some character designs I created for my uni course last year as part of a ātrope smashingā brief! I really enjoyed how these guys turned out - I see them as a private investigative pair in a fantasy victorian-esque setting, with perhaps some sci-fi elements. And yes, theyāre husbands.
(silly doodle under cut)
#character design#concept art#illustration#orc#fantasy#brains and brawn#i dont think i ever came up with names for these guys BUT i did come up with mad backstory and setting lore#fae mafia my beloved....i will use u in another project#brains guy comes from a noble family off-planet and they all kinda view him as the wierd cousin who's taking his gap year#to do silly little detective stuff#they don't really know and dont really care. they're idle rich hes allowed to be eccentric and not earn anything#he goes home to the big family reunion every space-fantasy christmas and they're all happy to see him#make various affirming noises about whatever case hes excitedly talking about#slight dissaproving sniff at his boytoy stealing the cutlenery Again but theyre FAR too polite to bring that up#(brain knows. he acts oblivious but encourages this. he thinks its hilarious.)#(boytoy= theyve been married for 20 years and counting. his family is STILL hoping its a phase)#(its not these bitches are ride or die for each other)#anyway yeah space fantasy holmes and watson who are gay married and take cases for free purely on the basis of what interests them most.#if they dont like you they charge u tho sorry#brawn has the most insane swimmer physique btw its ALL in the upper torso#rabid dog of a guy who Bites#no thoughts head empty motherfucker#they are so sickly affectionate to each other its unreal. type of guys to constantly do the bit where they pretend to meet each other for#the first time and flirt immediately. you think its sweet until you have to hang out with them for longer than an hour. its insufferable#love them <33#anyway sorry for long tags!!! got carried away#art#my art#digital art

tentatively dipping my toes into disk horse and saying that like a warrior taking an interest in an older apprentice isn't like an automatic red flag for me (as a tigerdove enjoyer) but eeeehh a much older clan leader taking an interest in an apprentice is a big nope for me. don't like that.
but i'll have to read the full novella for more context
#delete later#once again it is a case by case basis#especially with how wonky cat ages are in this#i dont think it's an automatic damnation of pinestar#just a really irresponsible choice for their relationship to me
