I've been reminded of "Fable" recently, and I've been thinking about how funny it would be if there was a follow-up story where some random person stumbles into Fable and gets taken before the king, and the moment they see him they're like "DAVE FROM ACCOUNTING??" And then they're stuck in this surreal situation with a fantasy king who also happens to be a former coworker who can flawlessly code-switch between courtly high fantasy language and normal modern American stuff. Can give rousing speeches about swords and war and magical creatures and turn on a dime to talk about things like baseball and video games and the difficulties of using Excel.
