IK it’s seen as cringe to have labels/especially microlabels for your OCs but i really do love designing such specific queer characters for crime express. also do you know how fun it is to both reference queer terms and slang from the 30s and also make up stuff for great ruhose it’s awesome
#good examples of slang ive come up with that are also inspired by real word great depression slang:#‘gendered’ - which can be used to refer to transgender people but refers mainly to nonb people (toons in particular)#it‘s a bit more synonymous with genderqueer (ex: blu; they’re closer to genderqueer if they knew 2000s terms but they like nonspecificity)#but characters like ruth and tulip also identify w/ it though tulip uses the word genderfluid (i might adjust that though even if they are#genderfluid)#same as ruth. she calls one of his genders gendered but it’s easier to go ‘yup im gendered ya can see me as a gal’ instead of. yknow. an#essay of detail#(which ruth is trigender/female-male-nonb)#‘spadille’ - basically synonymous with asexual/can also mean aro but just needs to be clarified#i chose spadille because it’s similar to slang for widows/spinsters and a lot of queer slang was you know. not the nicest back then#also i would’ve chosen spade but if you do two seconds of research on that word in the 1930s. yeah im not using that#cause almost every character is aspec most of them identify w/ spadille even if it is varied#ex: mason says he’s a double spadille because he’s demiro and -ace but if someone wants detail he can explain#2nd ex: blu is just as open about being a spadille as they are being gendered. both are a big part of their identity#anyways. i love making up slang. teehee!#oc stuff

lovelies, since we are dealing with some really messy messy bitches in ofts, i just want to remind everyone that english is a rich language with a variety of adjectives to describe people, and the usage of words which actually describe already incredibly stigmatised mental health issues is truly not necessary. sociopathic, psychopathic, narcissistic, psychotic, etc. truly just don't mean what you are trying to convey. usually simply googling the word followed by "synonyms" should give you a variety of more fitting descriptors.

WowNow Cinematic Universe - What's Hippo
Your government-assigned lesbian ship for Pride Month: Holly Hippo and Mz. Mandy Marmot from the comically atrocious WowNow Entertainment cinematic universe.
They host the news, gossip and variety show What's Hippo (a play on the phrase "what's hip?"), apparently the hottest show in the universe. It was founded by Holly, and they film live from "Zootropolis Studios" in "Zootropolis" (not the Disney one, that's really what they call it). In Black Friday, it is said that their show is regularly viewed by the entirety of Earth's population.
Their show always appears briefly and is mainly used as a plot device to deliver plot-relevant revelations, and for characters to publicize their plans, findings, or warnings.
In Lost in the Poultry-Giest, they become hostile toward each other as a result of a space-time continuum anomaly (it's just as dumb as it sounds), and their falling out leads to Mandy temporarily quitting the show (they also had a spat in Frankenstein Ruins Halloween, but nothing came of that).
They also host an educational book club, in which they roget Wikipedia articles relating to the origins of classic fairytales, such as Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. What's Hippo: Meghan and Harry (because that's a thing too) follows a similar format (Holly has a different voice actress in these series).

THIS is an emotion identifying wheel and not only is it a fantastic resource for anyone whos having trouble either identifying what theyre feeling, putitng what theyre feeling into words, or figuring out why specifically theyre feeling some way, it is ALSO a wonderful writing resource to diversify your diction/vocabulary and not just use the same four words for emotions :D learned about these from a mental heath awareness event at my college and i still have a mini laminated one of these in my backpack. extremely handy both for writers and just In General for if you or someone you know is having a hard time doing the human emotion thing :D theres a few different versions but this is the most expansive one i could find the quickest o7
