MAG 15 Lost John's Cave (johns'?)

woo ive made it to ep 15! this one seems to be generally regarded as the scariest statement (at least in s1)

but if im being honnest, i was never that big a fan. of course i liked it, i love the descriptions of feeling like youre in the earth and all that. that might be why i never found it scary, actually. it just sounds enjoyable.

my other issue with it was the constant "she liked caving. if only she had known...." "maybe she would be alive now...." "i used to feel safe in caves. not anymore....." like the most basic foreshadowing. idk it was definitely leading up to smth big and cool (and it really was big and cool!) but it just bothered me both the first time and this time

anywho, spoilers time!

this is obviously the Buried <33 i rly like the Buried (im uncomfortable w small spaces sometimes but i also fucking adore them idk) i think its also the Dark! bc. ofc. shes in the dark. (:

the statement giver in this one seems like on the way to becoming an avatar. either of the Buried or the Dark. i wonder if this wouldve helped her progression or stopped it. im guessing the later.

Honestly I’m not a big fan of this episode. It’s okay, but definitely doesn’t stand out as much as it could’ve. I thought the plots were very weak and there were very few iconic moments. Considering that this was the first appearance of Knockout and Breakdown, it’s an underwhelming reveal.

okaayyy so first is mk right so abt mk's vision,, mk is like the last in the little hero group to get a vision. hes been tryin for SO LONG to get one and ever since mei got hers hes been kinda more driven to get one himself. he knows theres like- special circumstances involved n hes been tryin to like get that cool thing to happen so they can get theirs but,,, nothins worked yet yknow mk like tries to make guess abt what vision theyre gonna get one day and mei thinks mk is gonna get pyro and like woah cool just like his da-- i mean pigsy!!! so hes not sayin itd be his one and only choice but thinkin about it and what tang has said abt visions he thinks pyro is def possible bc hes real passionate about a lot of things!! like his job and his friendships and MONKEY KING LORE and yknow all that good stuff so he gets it after doin somethin similar to the big fight at the end of a hero is born just- beatin' the SHIT out dbk ig along with his friends and while hes there and struggling but knowin he has to defeat this guy for the sake of everyone he ends up getting his vision and he doesnt focus on the element too much (it does end up being geo) at first its more just HOW TF DO I USE THIS NOW.. but he ends up doin somethin real wacky and BOOM dbk gone 4 now and like after all that is over n we're back to chilling he and the others r like celebrating bc WOO mk got his vision AND we defeating a huge demon!! and mei is like huh i really thought u were gonna get pyro like me and tang is like pushes up glasses well acTUALLY-- and proceeds to explain why geo visions r given to people and all that and while mk does have a lot of passion which would make it make sense 4 him to have a pyro vision hes far more hardworking with his job already and now that hes monkey kid hes gonna b working even harder to protect people mk's been working hard all his life really, not just with his job and now defeating demons, hes been working hard to get a vision so he could be something greater, his bio parents he doesnt remember much about but they were always so unimpressed and demanding so he tried real hard to live up to their expectations and make them happy because he wants his friends and family 2 be happy,, and hes always tried hard to be something more than what he is as he got older and all the monkey king stories really inspired him a lot and thats why hes loved all this lore and stuff for so many years but like,, he could never be a hero like that,,, oh wait anywho mk is a geo polearm(?) user, dunno if ya could call the staff a polearm buuut thats what im goin' with hes also got monkey king's abilities along with the geo ones so ohu boy,, ill talk more abt that part when i get to wukong and mac ALSO I FEEL LIKE MK COULD ALSO BE PYRO AND I COULD CHANGE IT BUT,, I LIKE GEO TOO,,,, oops all pyro traffic light trio????

i dont got much for red son either buuut heres what i do got; red son kinda already has,, magic of sorts bc,, yknow partial demon (in this hes only like,, half technically. yknow how yanfei is like half adeptus-) but its amplified a bunch by the vision and WOO FIRE and theyre a pyro catalyst honestly debating on whether or not they wold have a book or whatever that other floaty thingy is called but like when i imagine either they kinda look similar to dodoco tales or blackcliff agate hmm,, red's two big passions are building and cooking- his tech could possibly rival that of fontaine's advancements if he wanted it to,, they actually take some inspiration from the works of fontaine as well as for the cooking, u already know, spice master. i want a cooking battle with them and xiangling- they'd laugh at the hottest option on the menu at wanmin red son got their vision pretty early in life- a bit older than he was in canon,, which was still a problemmm and ya can guess why,, demon power fire element amplification little tempermental fire demon boy go boom boom samadhi fire or somethin,, so yeah theyre not as powerful as they could be and the vision was actually taken from them until they were older and more mature i suppose red doesnt remember this- they think they got their vision at an older age since it kinda just appeared by him one morning

tang is dendro but like he doesnt fight so he hasnt found a weapon yet- i think itd be real funny if he was a CLAYMORE or maybe a sword bc of that one episode yknow the one,, but honestly catalyst could work too and hed def have a book one if so dont got a backstory or vision story for him either :( nor do i have much for pigsy but pyro,, somethin. y'all can add to pigsy's stuff if ya want i also feel bad for not havin anything for him but passion = cooking woo

now to the two givin me the most trouble,,,, wukong and macaque i didnt think too much abt what visions macaque and wukong would have bc like,, they have a lot of powers that could fit each vision really and i was like "AUGH should wukong be pyro or geo or maybe anemo???" and like "should macaque be cryo maybe but agghh electro could also fit but GAH" could they be like,, adepti maybe?? m not sure,, im thinkin adepti with no like specified element but aaauuggh or maybe its a traveler sort of deal with like all the elements but i like the adeptus thing a bit more- then again uhh genshin lore,,,,, yeah i can not keep up with all of it</3 so if it makes no sense it makes no sense,, y'all might have 2 catch me up if somehow they wouldnt b able to be adepti but i still wanna keep somethin similar to monkey king's whole story n whatnot,,

last thing uh,, mk part adeptus or at least starting to match adeptal power now that hes got the staff and monkey king powers?? not sure again genshin lore is,, tricky and then that plus the geo vision

Jealous! Brook x F! Reader

“Y/n-san~! I-“ Brook happily walked into your room before stopping, taken aback by how empty it was. Where had you run off to? I mean, you were often busy and Brook respected that, of course! But you had promised to let Brook perform a new song for you… Had you forgotten, perhaps? He couldn’t help but frown. Ah, well…! I suppose he could search for you. After all, he composed this new tune just for you.

Brook wandered almost aimlessly around The Sunny, humming melodies in his lonesomeness. The Sunny was full of life as always, the loud rumble of laughs and shouting filling the ship deck. It had everybody! Well, almost. The crew was missing Usopp, Franky and…. You! That wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, really. Even as Brook was still rather new to the crew, he was quick to catch on to the closeness you shared with the two men. One could assume it was only out of mutual skills but according to the other shipmates it was more then that.

 Brook couldn’t help but rattle that thought around the hollow cave of his skull. More as in what? Friends? Ah, yes! Had to be, right? Or perhaps... Gasp! Were you... involved with them? Not one...but both? Kya! Brook would be red in the face... if only he had one! The thought of you being romantic with either of them was odd... It was rather lovely to fantasize about you in certain situations but Brook’s heart outweighed his perversion. Boy, it sure did.

Was it because they had beating hearts? Brook got insecure over himself more then one would like to admit. But can you blame him? After being alone for decade after decade, he got awfully attached to his new crew, especially you. 

You were one of the few that didn’t shy away from him within the beginning. The way you gazed at Brook with genuine interest through the fog of Thriller Bark made it impossible for his dim soul to blossom outward, reconnecting to the clutches of love. Even if those looks you gave him were only from a scientific stand point, they still meant the very most to him. Part of him could only hope you had sincere adorition behind your beautiful eyes. 

Brook slithered his way away from the deck, not wanting to be roped into any shenanigans. Not that it didn’t sound fun! Trust me, this man was frowning as he had to turn his back on his eager captain. But Brook was on a mission, a mission of… love? Ah, yes! One of love, certainly! Not that you’d be able to know once he did find you. It was a mission of love to Brook and him alone. He was content with you being unknowing of his love. The probability of you viewing him in the same manner was low. So painfully low.

What did a skeleton have to offer a woman? An alive human woman? Its not like Brook could quickly woo you, not at all. You were always surrounded by handsome men, kind ones as well! A sweet soul was what was most important in a being, right? Brook wanted to believe you would hear him out, that you potentially could look past his eccentric appearance but alas, he could not. You probably just viewed him as a pervert, didn’t you? That would be no good…

It didn’t take long for Brook to reach the workshop, simply looming against the door frame, peering to see what you three were up to. Usopp had his tongue sticking out in concentration, tinkering with a new baton for Nami, perhaps. And Franky was in his full exhibitionist glory, preparing a few mishaps he had upon his wide arms. Perhaps you didnt mind perverts, if you felt comfortable enough to be around a half naked man 24/7! Oh, Brook could only hope.

And there you were, in your constant glimmer of beauty. Even with your hair tangled in a ponytail, goggles on, you looked absolutely enchanting. Like a princess.

“Y/n-san,” Brook said happily as he strided right on into the room. He eagerly awaited your reply, only to be met with nothing. You just didn’t hear him, right? You weren’t ignoring him, were you? Or maybe… you learnt of his feelings! Gasp! Brook’s heart would shatter into two… if only he had one! He couldn’t help but frown as he repeated himself.

And finally, your eyes landed upon the musician. You gave him such a cute smile, one that made Brook nearly squeal out loud. You pushed the safety goggles up from your eyes, showing the skeleton the rest of your face. No, you weren’t a princess… A goddess! You were a goddess! “Hey, Brook.” You hummed, setting aside your equipment. “Is there anything I can help you with?” You asked, giving Brook that smile. That smile that made him feel far too full of love… too cute!

Franky and Usopp shared knowing glances, a huge and cheeky grin pinned on the cyborgs face. Franky wasn’t born yesterday, he can tell what it means to crush and he could definitely tell for the love you and Brook shared for each other. Now, Franky may be an eccentric but the man is smart! Socially, that is...

“Oh-! Why, I just finished a new song a while ago and figured Y/n-san would want to be the first to hear it,” the older man chimed, tipping his top hat ever so slightly. You looked up at Brook, processing his words. The way your face went red in shame was too quick for the musician to process.

“Damn..! Sorry, I totally forgot I was supposed to meet you in my room… I just had a—“ You were quickly cut off by a booming laugh. “I got it, Y/n! Go have a suuuper time with your man!” Franky couldn’t help but snicker as he said such a thing so loudly, more then fully exposing the things you had told him in private about the other man. Your already blushing face was further consumed by an embarrassed flush. Damn it, why did that moron have to say that?

Brook stood there dumbfounded at Franky’s words. Her man? Y/n’s man? Is- is that how everybody saw the two of you? Perhaps there was hope for Brook and his everlasting love for you. Was Franky merely pulling your leg or did you share the affections that Brook felt for you? Brook followed you outward of the workshop, taking further action in the blush that your cheeks carried. You were so cute, so fascinating. He was a sucker for your reactions and expressions. No matter what, Brook found you endearing. Even as you scolded him for his pervy nature or your face crinkled in the most unappealing way as you cried, Brook would always find you to be beautiful. You were the embodiment of grace.

“I don’t mind if you think of me that way, Y/n,” Brook spoke up, his usual emthused tone hushed. “I’d be blushing…. That is, if I had a face.” Ugh, of course he had to slide in a pun… he couldn’t help himself, could he?

Even as Brook said such a crappy joke, your blush didn’t cease. Not in the slightest, no. You fidgeted anxiously, subtly rocking back and fourth on your heels.

“Is— is that so?” you murmured, doing your upmost best to seem composed, keeping your emotions under wraps. Your flustered state worsened as purely bone digits dropped upon your shoulders, scaling upon the creases of your shirt. “Of course, Y/n, my sweet.” The skeleton hummed joyously. “Now, how about I go play my new song for you?”

I have a cute for you guys.

So for the last 2+ years, we’ve had a mating pair of cardinals living and feeding in my parent’s backyard year round. We have a feeder out during the cold months, but they still stick around in the warm months.

Last year, I saw (their) cardinal chicks for the first time, a male and a female. They just looked like half-sized versions of their parents. They were hopping along a branch, just chillin, until Pop came by and they all flew off.

Lately, though they might often do this (I know sometimes they don’t), Mom and Pop have been feeding together. Usually both on the grass below the feeder, sometimes one of them is on the feeder. 

Today, in our garden near the feeder, Pop hopped over to Mom and pecked her beak once, ostensibly feeding her a seed. She then proceeded to peck at something at her feet on bricks lining the garden. Maybe she had a collection of seeds. They then fed a bit more, together, on the grass below the feeder. Then, simultaneously, they flew to our wooden bench and, together, sat and chillaxed for a while before flitting off into the wilderness.

Knowing next to nothing about birds, I hopped onto Wikipedia and, lo and behold:

[Cardinal] Pairs mate for life, and stay together year-round. Mated pairs sometimes sing together before nesting. During courtship they may also participate in a bonding behavior where the male collects food and brings it to the female, feeding her beak-to-beak.[20] If the mating is successful, this mate-feeding may continue throughout the period of incubation. [x]

Now, I’ll tell you why this is beyond cute, even romantic.

We never, ever have more than one male or female cardinal visible at any given time in our backyard. We have a buttzillion sparrows, mourning doves, blackbirds/grackles, anywhere between two and four bluejays, the occasional titmouse, junco, catbird, chickadees, our friendly neighborhood flicker, and we’ve just added to the list a wren and a warbler. But only ever one male or female cardinal, and it’s been that way for a long time.

So I don’t think the bonding behavior I witnessed today between Mom and Pop cardinal was them bonding. I think they were reaffirming their bond. 

My suspicions were confirmed by this blog post. 

But that’s not all

According to Wiki, cardinals can live to be up to 15 years old in the wild. We’ve been living here for 33. So these two lovebirds might have been here for multiple years. It just makes me warm and fuzzy knowing we’re helping them stay healthy during the winter.

Anywho, let this be a lesson to all you lazy nerds out there: Don’t stop wooing your spouse, or you’ll be more of a deadbeat than a bird.
