hello i saw that your requests were open so i have one as a fellow genshin and bllk fangirl 😍
ik combining 2 fandoms sounds tough but pls i promise you’ll like it (i can’t actually promise that) but pls hear me out.
the type of vision bllk boys would have and why.
eg: snuffy: anemo, because he has a dead friend, or ness: electro, because he’s a simp. (i’m so sorry about the snuffy one.)
for the bllk boys im requesting, it’s quite a long list but if you think it’s too short you can cut it if you want!!
manshine trio (they’re my favourites), bachira, niko, barou, sae, rin, shidou, charles, kurona, hiori, our beloved mc isagi, kuni (pre or post wildcard, up to you), and german frat boy (you know who i mean.)
15 characters is a lot so it’s understandable if you wanna shorten the list or not take this request 😭😭 i just thought of it in the shower and thought maybe you’d like it since we’re both genshin and bllk fans but i hope you like this idea!!
Tumblr media
OMG I love this so freaking much, and I have been thinking about it since I got it this morning and you are not ready for the ride I am about to take you on in my reasonings <3 (Also I ended up having no ideas for Barou so I did pre and post wild card Kunigami!!) (And yes, Kaiser's will be a whole tangent about him since I love him so much, and I am very deeply connected to that man, my blue dyed tip hair and blue rose tattoo will agree.)
Tumblr media
Just because I felt like elaborating more on your ideas I'm gonna start with Snuffy and Ness<3 Marc Snuffy: Anemo - I mean firstly and most importantly he lost his best friend and that's a very big key component in Anemo, but also he continued to go and find a reason to keep living on (winning the major 5 european championships) Alexis Ness: Electro - Not only falling under being a simp, following the path of Sara and her devotion towards the Raiden Shogun, but being seen as abnormal by even his own family for liking the things that he likes (Magic). Reo Mikage: Geo - Working really hard to be able to play football/soccer even with the bumps in his way like his parents (more specifically his dad, as shown in Episode Nagi) trying to get him to work more on taking over the company, but yet he still works hard on his dream to becoming a pro athlete. Nagi Seishiro: Anemo or Cryo - Nagi is a little weird since he could follow down the Anemo path like Sayu, but he also has a lot of tendencies to be a potential Cryo. Having his internal conflicts during the second selection to be able to break apart from Reo to become stronger and be able to compete at a level that challenges him, but also his past (seen in Ep. Nagi) of his parents kinda leaving him and abandoning him. Chigiri Hyoma: Hydro - Having himself a moral code that he created for himself to follow when it comes to playing football/soccer, and even with his injury continuing to follow the path that he created for himself to become the best and help him in his upbringing to get back to the way he was with no fear and continue to be a 'chosen one' Bachira Meguru: Pyro - Being very passionate about the sport that he plays and wanting to always surpass himself and become better. Even trying new chemical reactions and trying new things to become better then he was before. Niko Ikki: Dendro - The knowledge of the field that he has through his eyes and the way he sees the field. It could be under the consideration of "hidden" knowledge as it isn't something the other team knows about until you figure it out yourself, and with that he has a risk for trying new things to be able to score and continue using the knowledge that he has to grow and eventually be able to beat people using it. Sae Itoshi: Hydro or Cryo - At first with his whole thing for not thinking he's good enough to become the best striker after his whole thing and Spain (and most likely something to do with Leonardo Luna) which then turns him into having an internal conflict and then brings to his change and changing his morals to be instead the best midfielder but still keeping that mindset of being the best in something. Rin Itoshi: Cryo - Itoshi family thing, yet again, another Cryo. He also has a big internal conflict, but with his brother, as he is the main reason why he is even playing the sport and why he is so keen on becoming the best, and by that he really just means beating his brother. He also has quite a few of the tendencies of Cryo characters from the game, as he does mostly distance himself from others and is really only seen talking to them when somebody else approaches him first. Shidou Ryusei: Pyro - Another person who is quite passionate (even sometimes a little too much *cough cough* U20 game *cough cough*, especially when he finds people that he likes playing with (ex Charles and Sae). It is a little hard just because we don't know anything about his past so I'm really just basing it on the way he acts! Charles Chevalier: Pyro - Same thing as Shidou, as we really don't know anything about his past it makes it a little harder. Though I would like to say he def gives Pyro energy, same boat as Hu Tao. He is very passionate when on the feild, and about the way he acts towards the things that he likes, which is being a pain in the ass contrarian.
Kurona Ranze: Electro(?) - This one was I think the hardest for me since there isn't a lot on Kurona, but I did try my best! I was thinking more electro as he is most likely seen as more abnormal as he tends to stay behind and help out other players (ex. Isagi) which is most likely uncommon for a place like Blue Lock, since it's all about opening an ego and making things for yourself. Though I can say much as, we have nothing for his backstory, and nothing much on his wiki!
Hirori Yo: Dendro or Cryo - Hiroi has already been known as somebody who has a lot of info when it comes to football/soccer, most likely due to his parents. Though when he first meets Isagi and Nanase he is seen giving quite a bit of information out which ends up helping them in the long run, so his knowlodge of the game very deeply resonates with the dendro element. Though the constant struggle of trying to find out if what he's doing is right follows him along the way. As it was his parents main thing to get him to play, so constantly wanting to not do it does follow him and makes him question things for sure about it.
Isagi Yoichi: Hydro or Geo - A man who has his principals in check, your honor. This man is pretty good at know what's right and what's wrong and can often be seen as the person being in the middle of fights (Ex. Nagi and Barou) and making sure that things don't get to crazy between them. Though he also has a good work ethic and is always trying to make himself stronger and wants to boost himself to the next level.
Kunigami (Pre WC): Hydro - He has a very good goal in life, well at least at the start of Blue Lock. Wanting to be like the hero's he saw on TV, but also wanting everything to be fair. He is constantly making sure (even from the first time we saw him) that everything is fair game, even if it wasn't strictly mentioned in the rules.
Kunigami (Post WC): Cryo or Electro - They never outwardly said it but something must have happened to that man in Wild Card that they are not telling us! So in short I have a feeling that he is dealing with something from the past that went on in there. Though another thing that would go with Electro is his views were most likely changed though the process of Wild Card. Nobody just flips a switch like that for no reason. So a bigger picture to this is that he was probably learning things about what he needed to do to become the best and staying on the path he was, wasn't going to get him there.
Michael Kaiser: Cryo - Ah yes.. Kaiser. Boy do I have a lot to say about you. (And that's on having a similar backstory<3) His whole egotistical personality most likely stems from his childhood (as most things do about people) More often then not do kid who have no attention on them as children end up living for that attention and praise as they get older, case in point Kaiser basically wanting to be the best striker and having a pretty good title of it, until you learn that he wants to move on and make his own name, which is most likely another sign of him trying to have the attention on himself, though it also stems from the abandonment he had a as child not only form his mother, but the abandonment of a father figure from his dad. Though the conflict start coming in when you see the drastic change when Isagi starts scoring goals and making many more problems for the name that Kaiser was creating for himself. Though with a loss of figures of parents that is only to be expected as the praise is no longer coming from other people, but instead just the person that he manipulated (Ness.)
Now obviously I can go on and on about this, but I won't, you've already had to read through the rest of my brainrot so I won't be saying anything else<3

Trump Removes "Unified Reich" Post From Social Media After Backlash
Tumblr media
By Shaleah Craighead - https://twitter.com/VOAYYH/status/1330893514725535744, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=142465257 Former US President Donald Trump deleted a controversial video from his Truth Social account after it sparked severe backlash. The video, posted during a lunch break from his Manhattan hush money trial on Monday afternoon, featured references to a “unified Reich” among hypothetical news headlines that could result from a Trump election win in November. These headlines included triumphant messages like “Trump wins!!” and “Economy booms!” but also included references to World War I. The term “Reich” is commonly associated with Nazi Germany’s Third Reich, although in the video, it seemed to allude to the formation of a modern pan-German nation. The video appeared at a time when Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, was attempting to depict President Joe Biden as lenient on antisemitism. This effort was overshadowed by Trump’s own repeated use of language and rhetoric evocative of Nazi Germany. On Tuesday morning, the video was deleted from Trump's account. Karoline Leavitt, the campaign press secretary, stated, "This was not a campaign video, it was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer who clearly did not see the word, while the President was in court." Earlier this month, Trump referred to Biden’s administration as a “Gestapo administration” during a fundraiser, a reference to the secret Nazi police force. Trump has a history of using rhetoric similar to Adolf Hitler’s, such as claiming that immigrants entering the US illegally are “poisoning the blood of our country” and calling his opponents “vermin.” He has also faced criticism for dining with a Holocaust-denying white nationalist in 2022 and for downplaying the 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where white nationalists chanted “Jews will not replace us!” The contentious video included at least one headline that was lifted verbatim from a Wikipedia entry on World War I: “German industrial strength and production had significantly increased after 1871, driven by the creation of a unified Reich.” Additionally, the video featured headlines such as “Border Is Closed” and “15 Million Illegal Aliens Deported,” paired with smaller text detailing the start and end dates of World War I. The video was created by a meme maker known as Ramble_Rants, who has previously collaborated with the Trump campaign, according to The New York Times. Ramble_Rants defended the video in a post on X (formerly Twitter), claiming it was intended to depict “American peace and prosperity” and explained that the historical newspaper clippings were pre-selected as part of a template from the stock video company Envato Elements. 1997 Dublin - Number 17 - Leon - "Schein (meine kleine Taschemlampe)"
youtube
It wasn't only the EBU's 1996 experiment in audio-only qualification that did for Leon and Germany's brave stride away from the world of Wind and Ralph Siegel and into the world of mid-90s commercial Europop. I also only managed to rank his more famous song Planet of Blue in my also-rans.
What's less know about Leon is that he had another attempt. In the German national final of 1997, renamed Der Countdown läuft after a line in his own winning song from the previous year, he entered Schein (meine kleine Taschemlampe). He was enormously popular in Germany at the time. They knew they'd be in the final this year whatever happened - no pre-qualification at all. Leon deserved it. His hair was great. He had more dancers.
He finished second.
He got 13% of the televote to 40% for the winner. It wasn't even close. The German public delivered a knockout blow to his Eurovision ambitions. The song selected finished 18th in the Eurovision final.
Schein (meine kleine Taschemlampe) (Shine my little flashlight) is a piece of uplifting, euphoric electro-schlager about a world in difficulties and Leon's promise to lead us all out of the dark with the little flashlight of the title. He seems exceptionally happy to do this. This is almost exactly the same pattern as Planet of Blue. It's the "10 Years" to the previous years "Think About Things". I like this one a little more than Planet of Blue - it wears its heart less overtly on its sleeve. Instead it plumps for the boy-star cult-leader vibe, harvesting the many screams of his adoring fans. It's a singer and song-writing team doing what they do best.
That song-writer is Hanne Haller, the non-performing founder member of Wind, German Eurovision entrants in 1985, 1987 and 1992. Leon was her next project but sadly it was not to be. The good news here is that Leon had a successful recording and touring career after this. Discogs has 14 singles listed all the way up to 2009 as well as his two LPs from the end of the 1990s.

To feel envy is human, to savour schadenfreude is devilish.
- Arthur Schopenhauer
I was in the stadium with members of my family and friends watching the epic Japan vs Spain World Cup game. What an atmosphere at the end of the game when both Japanese and Spanish fans realised they were now through the group and that Germany were now knocked out of the World Cup despite their 4-2 win over Costa Rica.
Spain completely dominated the first half, but Japan overcame this to win 2-1 stunningly. Spain chose Alvaro Morata as their customary number nine, which instantly paid dividends as the Atlético Madrid player headed in the opening goal after receiving a precise cross. As Spain dominated possession and limited Japan to a few half-chances in the first half, Morata continued to provide a threat from inside the box.
After the break, Japan's high-intensity pressing punished Spain for sloppy passing by stealing the ball, which replacement Ritsu Doan skillfully finished. Almost shortly after, Japan put the ball in the back of the net once more, and a VAR review affirmed that Ao Tanaka's goal stood. Minutes before the end, Dani Olmo came within inches of winning, but Japan held on thanks to an outstanding second-half performance to win Group E. The ‘Samurai Blue’ more than deserved their draw and to go through. They were tenacious and full of self belief and energy. It was a great game.
At the end of the game Japanese fans were crying with joy and the Spaniards along with neutrals in the stands joined them. It was a cathartic moment for all football fans when it dawned on us that German were humiliated and on their way home.
In the hotel bars afterwards the drink flowed. I was with Japanese friends and Spanish friends and others as we celebrated. Never did a Suntory Yamazaki 12 Year Old single malt whisky taste so sweet. We watched around us Qataris on television having fun at the Germans’ expense.
On the eve of the World Cup the game’s governing body threatened to book players – such as the seven European captains, including Germany’s Manuel Neuer – who were planning on wearing the OneLove armbands, which promote diversity and inclusivity. Same-sex relationships and the promotion of same-sex relationships is criminalised in Qatar, a Muslim-majority country with Islam as the state religion.
In protest, the Germans had covered their mouths - a reference to being silenced by FIFA - for their pre-match photograph before the Japan game. “Human rights are non-negotiable,” the German federation said in a statement at the time. “That should be taken for granted, but it still isn’t the case. That’s why this message is so important for us. Denying us the armband is the same as denying us a voice. We stand by our position.” Their conduct greatly angered the Qataris - and indeed many Arabs and other Muslims here at the World Cup. They saw double standards and starch western hypocrisy at work, and even racism.
The Germans have a point - up to a point. But so do the Qataris - it is after all their sovereign country, not ours. Qataris and others would say if you don’t speak up for the Uygher Muslim being rounded up in concentration camps in China during the last Winter Olympics, or speak up for the endless litany of human righrs violation in Putin’s Russia during the last footbal World Cup, then what leg are you standing on to speak up for others elsewhere? Why are you so selective in your activism? Activism is easy when it doesn’t cost you anything.
Much of the Western media coverage of the World Cup is so misinformed and just plain hyperbolic BS.
In any case, German had decided to focus their energies on their holier than thou woke virtue signalling at the start of this tournament rather than focus on the football.
They paid the piper.
The Japanese have a saying: “The misfortunes of others taste like honey.” The French speak of joie maligne, a diabolical delight in other people’s suffering. The Danish talk of skadefryd, and the Dutch of leedvermaak. In Hebrew enjoying other people’s catastrophes is simcha la‑ed, in Mandarin xìng‑zāi‑lè‑huò, in Serbo-Croat it is zlùradōst and in Russian zloradstvo. More than 2,000 years ago, Romans spoke of malevolentia. Earlier still, the Greeks described epichairekakia (literally epi, over, chairo, rejoice, kakia, disgrace). “To see others suffer does one good,” wrote the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. “To make others suffer even more so. This is a hard saying, but a mighty, human, all-too-human principle.”
The Germans of course call it schadenfreude. I love the German word: schadenfreude. From Schaden, meaning damage or harm, and freude, meaning joy or pleasure: damage-joy.
The philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer called it “an infallible sign of a thoroughly bad heart and profound moral worthlessness,” the very worst trait in human nature. (He also said that anyone caught enjoying the suffering of others should be shunned from human society.)
I have come to believe that Schopenhauer was wrong. We might worry that a taste for other people’s misery will corrupt our souls, yet this emotion is far from simply “bad.” It touches on things that have mattered most to human societies for millennia: our instincts for fairness and hatred of hypocrisy; our love of seeing our rival suffer in the hope that we might win ourselves; our itch to measure ourselves against others and make sense of our choices when we fall short; how we bond with each other; what makes us laugh. If we peer more closely at this hidden and much-maligned emotion, liberate ourselves from its shame and secrecy, we will discover a great deal about who we really are.
It’s telling no one I’ve observed talks about LGBT rights or even migrant labour exploitation in the bars or just amongst the football gathering of fans. They just came for the football. It’s a reminder that the self-important culture wars of the West are of little importance to the wider world. They really don’t care.
Football may not bring the world together around LGBT issues but it sure can unite the world around having a laugh at Germany’s ignominious exit from the Qatar World Cup. I would call that progress.

Hidden Gems by @vaysh11
Vaysh is another excellent, long-time Drarry writer who explores a variety of tropes and has written some incredible drabbles and short fics. I love the quiet and contemplative tone of her work, some downright melancholy, others hot, sweet, intriguing and fun. There’s a little bit of everything and I selected fics covering all kinds of moods to keep you busy this weekend. Oh and btw Vaysh also translates fics to German, how cool is that?!! If you’re interested, you can find the collection here. She’s quite prolific and I still have many fics to go through myself which is perfect, as those short-medium fics happen to be my fave length these days. Next on my list is We Are Legend, a 35k Voldemort wins AU, and I can’t wait! While I’m checking this dystopian adventure (I love this genre!) make sure to indulge these lovely treats, and don’t forget to leave kudos and comments!
Four Letters and a Dance (G, 1.6k) - epistolary + secret lovers through the war!! Sweet and hopeful, I love how happy and free they become together
Harry and Draco have been lovers since fifth year at Hogwarts. When the War has them on opposing sides, they communicate through magical letters, addressing each other in code. Draco is Silver-Green, and Harry is Golden-Red.
The Postmaster (2015, E, 2.8k) - a gorgeous and contemplative sequel to Bound Skerry by Frayach. Cw: mild S&M, breathplay 🔥
A new postmaster comes to the remotest of the Shetland islands.
The Best Hot Chocolate (2017, T, 3k) - emotional Christmas fluff, hurt/comfort, pre-slash
Three times Harry Potter made hot chocolate on Christmas. And one time he didn't.
The Rose Tattoo collab with Raitala (2014, T, 3k) - songfic, tattooed!Draco, open ending and some truly breathtaking Draco art!
A drunken tattoo becomes the anchor and compass in Draco's life.
Preludes to a Wank of Magnificent Proportions (2017, E, 3k) - hot and sweet, fumbling over the years, hung!Draco 🙌 and this perfect summary:
Harry and Draco weren't even together. They only had had sex once twice three times.
Times of Bright (2015, E, 13k) - spell-bound lovers, astronomy, flashbacks, amazing porn with feels. Peak romance!
The one year anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts finds Draco Malfoy in a room in the Leaky Cauldron. Incidentally, it's also the time of a rare star conjunction, which has been triggering a secret lovers' spell between him and Harry Potter for the last seven years. Only now he's a Death Eater on the run, whereas Harry's a honoured guest at the ceremonies celebrating the downfall of the Dark Lord.
When the Clocks Stopped (2013, E, 30k) - my personal favourite! Intriguing time travel, slow burn, first time, open ending! Can’t rec it enough
When the clocks stop the past gets its chance to catch up. A catastrophe has hit the world, wizarding and Muggle alike: all the clocks stopped, time has come to a halt. Harry Potter's curse-breaking team is part of the quickly formed Order of the Hummingbird. They need the expertise of the Time Master who is none other than Draco Malfoy.

Paul Whiteman - King of Jazz
1930 technicolor film - Universal Pictures - directed by John Murray Anderson and Walter Lantz.
The film is essentially a grab bag consisting of selections from “Paul Whiteman’s Scrap Book” that will be brought to life for us through the magic of film. Things kick off with “A Fable in Jazz,” a short cartoon by a pre-Woody Woodpecker Walter Lantz that purportedly showed how Whiteman earned the title “King of Jazz” (while unsuccessfully hunting a lion in Africa, of course) and which is of historical note for being the first animation ever produced in Technicolor. There are large-scale production numbers like “My Bridal Veil,” which is essentially an extended fashion show showcasing bridal looks over the years and the Mexican set romantic interlude “Monterey.” There are also specialty dance acts like “My Ragamuffin Romeo,” in which Marion Stadler is hurled around the stage in astonishing ways by partner Don Rose and “Happy Feet,” an elaborate dance performed by German cabaret stars The Sisters G and the Russell Markert Dancers, before the group changed its name to the Radio City Rockettes. The sequence that tends to receive the most notice from contemporary viewers is a brief medley of songs by The Rhythm Boys, a singing trio that had been appearing with Whiteman’s band in concerts—this part is notable less for the singing, which is just fine, and more because it marks the screen debut of the soon-to-be-legendary Bing Crosby.  As for Whiteman himself, while he and his band can be heard throughout (Whiteman insisted on recording all the music before filming instead of playing live on the set, which was the custom in the early days of sound), his on-camera time is relatively brief. The centerpiece segment of the film is a nine-minute adaptation of “Rhapsody in Blue” (with Roy Bargy playing the piano) featuring a production design centered around an enormous piano that the band plays atop of while the future Rockettes dance on the keys.
When “King of Jazz” was released in May 1930, the reviews, by and large, were not especially kind—many dismissed it as just a random collection of elements that, while impressively staged from a technical standpoint, did not offer anything that set it apart from the numerous other revue films.  Herman Rosse would win an Oscar for his stunning art direction, but the film would go down as a major flop.

How is Leon the most and least humble person at the same time? Learn more about it in this very lengthy and very much not really requested translated transcript of the newest NHL interview starring Leon Draisaitl, Tim Stütze and Marco Sturm. Please don't be mean I tried best.
Christian Rupp: Servus [sorry but it’s just a form of greeting I don’t want to translate] to our German NHL call today with three first round picks who have all been drafted in the first round [I know this is repetitive but I thought it was funny]. I am excited for this great group! Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, Tim Stützle of the Ottawa Senators and Marco Sturm, Assistant Coach of the LA Kings. Thank you for agreeing to this format and thank you for being here. First question, of course, Leon: You broke Marco Sturm’s record and are now sole German top scorer in the NHL. Since this has been a few days ago now did you get the chance to fully realize/internalize this fact?
Leon Draisaitl: Yeah, I think that the media and you are maybe making a bigger deal out of it than I myself to be honest. No question, of course this means a lot to me but as I have said enough times already I have way too much respect for Sturmi and all the other outstanding German hockey players we’ve had in the NHL. So I don’t want to make a thing out of it that it isn’t.
C. R.: It’s always „Dream Big“ – have big plans as a young player and dream big. Is that something you can even dream of, being the best German player in the NHL?
L.D.: Yes, I mean dreaming of something like that is always nice, that was probably no different for Sturmi and now for Timmi as well. We all dream of something that big playing in the streets as small kids. Coming out on top is of course super special to me, that is out of question. But as I said, there’s always something to work on and to improve and that is what I am trying to do here.
C.R.: Marco, your record had been standing for a long time. Leon now broke it at the young age of 25. Is he a worthy successor?
M.S.: By all means, yes! It took me 15 years to reach that point and Leon did it in only four. That beats everything! But [I didn’t catch what he said here but I guess something along the lines of an elaborate form of „that“] was only a matter of time. Leon won’t be the first and last one. Tim will be the next one, also only a matter of time. I am happy about this and am gladly passing on that title to Leon. He is completely different and plays in an entirely different league than I did. It’s only the beginning for him, I am sure there are many more points to come.
C.P.: And with Tim Stützle, the next one is already on his way. He’s diligently collecting points in his rookie year. Regardless, Tim, for you. What’s it like for you seeing the/your count written out especially now that you got to know how hard it is to score and collect points in the NHL. How bis is this number for you?
Tim Stützle: Yes, I will have to be honest and say I noticed that every time we played Leon. Especially in the defensive zone it isn’t the easiest thing but mostly it was incredibly fun playing against the best players in the world every day. And again, especially in our league [I think he’s talking about the Canadian division here], playing against Edmonton with Leon and Connor who, which is no secret, belong to the two best players in the league and the world and particularly with Marco, who has collected many, many points. It’s supercool seeing German hockey getting better and better.
C.P.: I’ll throw this question back at Leon. You played against him a few times now this season. What did you notice about Tim Stützle’s game, what did you like about it?
L.D.: Everything! I mean, playing in the league already at his age and so to say helping your team win or playing a big role on the power play right away, that isn’t quite that easy. I think we all know this. Timmi is probably experiencing that himself right now, that the league can be hard [on you] and is quick to bring you back down to earth. Plainly, because it is the best league there is with the best players there are but I’m gonna say, playing this continuously good in his first year as an 18 year old is an impressive achievement.
T.S.: *laughs* Thank you!
L.D.: *grinning* Of course!
C.P.: I can spot a shelf in the background. Leon, did you already receive your trophies? You did win a few in the pre-season, did they arrive already? Do they have a spot already?
L.D.: Nah, I don’t have the real ones here yet. I haven’t even seen them yet to be honest. I got smaller ones, how do you call them in German, replica trophies. Yeah, it is pretty cool. They are downstairs and I guess are functioning as chewing toys for my dog right now. But the real ones, as I said, I haven’t even seen yet.
C.P.: Marco! Of course we want to talk a bit about you as well. You are assistant coach of the LA Kings. How are you looking back on the season?
M.S.: Yeah well, as everyone knows we are in the midst of a rebuild right now. We are right at the start which is never easy. Patience is the most important feat in this phase. Many older players are now gone, a few still remain. The youngest players aren’t quite there yet, that’s why we still need to exercise patience and work hard. Particularly with the younger players. Then, hopefully, we’ll be able to take the next step next season or in the summer and maybe we’ll receive some new players. A player or maybe multiple players who will help us.
C.P.: We have all been anxiously watching/awaiting the 2020 Draft. LA Kings with Marco Sturm, I am sure Tim Stützle would have been a good fit there as well. Now, to be frank, with Tim in the room. How often did you regret not selecting Tim Stützle?
M.S.: I don’t have any influence on this process but I had my hopes, of course. Regrettably, nobody heard me, that’s how it goes and I only learned we were picking Byfield the day of the draft. But Byfield, I’ll have to say, he played the last 5 games up here and he will, too, become an outstanding player in the league. Maybe a bit different to Tim but personally I had hopes Tim would end up playing for/with us.
C.P.: Tim, it keeps getting better for your team, you are on a streak right now. Are you sad the season will be over already for you?
T.S.: In the beginning, of course, we weren’t quite that good. But we are in the middle of a rebuild as well and we have a lot of young players. But the last games it clicked for us and I think we won seven out of nine games. We feel comfortable and have a lot of fun playing together and as a young team we savor every day.
C.P.: What are the plans for the upcoming weeks? Has Toni Söderholm called?
T.S.: Yeah, I will have to see. There will be talks with trainers and management about what is best for me. There are still some remaining problems with my hand and I will have to get another surgery. That’s why we will have to wait and see.
C.P.: Marco you lay the foundation for players wanting and enjoying to play for Team Germany, at worlds for example, again. What is your stance on [I again did not catch what he was saying] of German hockey?
M.S.: Generally I think we caught up nicely in the past years. As you mentioned already, if you want players, especially the ones playing in the NHL to [here probably something along the line of „to come play for Team Germany“] you it has to be fun. It is a long season for the boys and if they then go on and play another tournament on top of that, that is not easy and because of that it has to be fun and that was what I had been trying to achieve back in my days. German hockey needs the [NHL] boys to get ahead. And as I said, back in my day, the boys always liked playing here [Team Germany] and we always were successful.
C.P.: The list of German NHL players speaks for itself here, it is quite long and with Leon at the head, how do you rank the German national team, especially if all NHL players were to join. Particularly with the Olympics on the table as well. What are Germany’s chances of keeping up with the top nations?
L.D.: Yes, I think we do have a pretty decent team. Of course it’s always important to stay realistic if it’ll be enough going up against the USA or Canada. That is something we will have to see but I believe we have a lot of players that have the ability to compete on that level and that a few NHL players will be present as well, hopefully all of them. I think we have a very very good team.
C.P.: Sadly, we have almost reached the end of our Zoom call today. I will making my rounds one last time. Tim, what are your summer plans?
T.S.: I think I will most definitely spend my summer in Mannheim. I will practice with the [„Fitnesstrainer“ so I guess just coaches/trainers] and some Adler players. I think it will be a good summer for me because I want to work on a lot of things and grow stronger [generally, just improve is meant here I think]. I think it will be best for me to be there [Mannheim].
C.P.: And you Marco? Will you stay in Landshut and then later, will you be returning to the LA Kings?
M.S.: After the first few meetings it is, I think, clear that I will stay here for the upcoming years. I like it here and working together with [the bosses], it is fun. But then for me it is the same as it is for Tim and Leon. I will most probably stay with family and friends in Landshut for a few months before it is time to get back to business again.
C.P.: I don’t think I have to ask about your goal, Leon. I would describe it as a quite big and silver thing [I don’t have a good translation here, the expression was „etwas größerer Silberling“].
L.D.: Yeah of course! I hope we’ll remain in the game for as long as possible and come out at the very top in the end. That is the dream and the goal of course. Then, as the other two have already said, I  will spend the summer mainly in Europe and will prepare for the next season there.
C.P.: So for you this, so to say, means Köln is calling in the summer even if it is a shortened one?
L.D.: [In my opinion this was said hesitantly] Yeah, mostly in Köln.
C.P.: I wish you all the best for your athletic projects, stay healthy  and thank you for joining this exclusive NHL.com.de [he said that so I dunno] Zoom call.
*Everyone says their goodbyes*

The crisis virus
written by Steven Black:
While you look around and get the impression that the whole world has gone crazy and is going nuts, you have to realize: This is all perfectly normal and has happened over and over again. With the pest plague, the cholera and the Spanish flu – people reacted with unreasonableness, resentment and rebellion, against ordered measures.
With the plague, people selectively believed that bad winds, an unfavorable constellation of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn or the contaminated water were to blame because the Jews were poisoning the wells. As a logical consequence of such thinking, persecution of Jews throughout Europe occurred. Entire Jewish quarters were burned down and their inhabitants murdered.
Oh yes, a punishment by God was also possible. Even then, in the early 14th century, quarantine and isolation were ordered – as a very late measure.
In the case of cholera, 1831, quarantine and isolation were also applied. From the chronicle of the german city Stettin of this time, one learns:
„The burial of the deceased, buried in a special newly built churchyard […] aroused fear and horror, especially among the lower classes of the inhabitants. These precautions were made even worse by the complete blockade of traffic, which deprived a large part of the inhabitants of their livelihoods and probably also their means of subsistence. The lower classes could not bear this state of affairs and, believing the most absurd rumors, saw in the precautions taken only the means to their perdition.
„The prolonged duration of the cordoning off increased the bitterness, the excitement grew with each passing day, so that the workers most affected were finally inclined to use force to overturn the hated coercive rules.
„…because the agitated crowd, misled by some troublemakers, was under the delusion that cholera and security measures were only being used „to exterminate the common rabble.
The Spanish Flu, 1918 – 1919, rolled over the globe in three successive waves and claimed millions of lives. Conjecture and conspiracy theories arose among the most diverse peoples. Some saw the disease as the devil’s work of German agents, and Germany was suspected of either using insidious biological weapons or poisoning aspirin tablets from the pharmaceutical manufacturer Bayer in order to win the world war. Another theory, widespread at the time, was that the flu had been imported from Spain in tins, which had been poisoned by the Germans who had brought the Spanish canneries under their control. Or it was oraculated that the cause was consequential damages of the war by poison gas missions, which were caused by the exhalations from the mountains of corpses of the battlefields. And of course there was also the evergreen that it was a punishment from God …
First with the second wave, the danger was really recognized and flu alarm systems were introduced, quarantines were imposed over ports and railroad stations, isolation stations in hospitals were set up. „Social Distancing“ was ordered, mass gatherings were prohibited. Schools, theaters, markets and churches were closed. The use of face masks and disinfectants was recommended and in some areas made mandatory by law.
Those who refused to wear face masks were fined. By the way, later studies proved that the prohibition of mass events and the requirement to wear a mouth-and-nose mask reduced the death rate in American cities by up to 50 percent. Where it was not prescribed by law, i.e. only announced as a recommendation, there were many more deaths. The same thing is currently happening in Sweden.
The Corona Virus – today
100 years after the Spanish flu, a new medical crisis is entering the global stage. And just as with the plague, cholera and Spanish flu, where fear and uncertainty accompanied the daily events, the most colorful rumors and theories are flourishing. There seems to be a lid for every pot.
Some political party sees the Corona virus as an obvious foreigner epidemic. Logically, migrants must be to blame for it too. Within the extreme right groups the old perennial argument is active that the Jews are to blame for Corona.
Many vaccination critics freak out at the name Bill Gates, who allegedly wants to decimate humanity and enslave it with microchips. He has the WHO, the media and Angela Merkel personally in his pocket. Then there are people who believe that the new 5 G technology is the real cause of the Corona virus. The Qanon community believes that the virus is merely an excuse for Donald Trump to free thousands of poor, tortured children from underground tunnels.
There are an ever increasing number of people who believe that the virus is nothing more than a normal flu. There is also the idea that this Corona virus does not exist – it would all be just an excuse to get rid of cash and have a controlled financial crash. The usual suspects also know exactly from whom and why – of course to enforce the infamous New World Order, either by the „Deep State“, the „Kabale“ or the „Illuminati“.
A few fundamentalist church officials also took up the same cause:
In a text entitled „A Call for the Church and for the World – to Catholics and all people of good will“, signed among others by the German Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller and initiated by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, former Pontifical Ambassador to the USA, the Corona measures were sharply criticized. The signatories had previously spoken out against bans on worship because of the corona virus and they are all arch-conservative opponents of the current pope. The text stated: „It is a fact that under the pretext of the Covid 19 epidemic, in many cases inalienable rights of citizens have been violated and their fundamental freedoms have been disproportionately and unjustifiably restricted, including the right to freedom of religion, freedom of expression and freedom of movement.
It was further stated that there is reason to believe „that there are forces that are interested in creating panic among the population. Their goal is to permanently enforce „forms of unacceptable restriction of freedom and the associated control over persons and the persecution of all their movements“. „These illiberal attempts at control are the disturbing prelude to the creation of a world government that eludes all control“.
Personal note: By the way – dear church idiots: What about the „forms of unacceptable restriction of freedom“ of my mind, by your religious doctrine? Or „the associated control over persons“, where you let people slide around on their knees and establish a sense of sacrifice by having a figure nailed to a cross worshiped? But a „God’s world government“ would be all right with you, wouldn’t it?
Anyway, I don’t really expect an answer to that. But what else you should know – the signatories represent an arch-conservative, right-wing current within the Catholic Church. They fervently hate the current pope because he accepts homosexuality and divorce as facts of life and is open to pro-migration and capitalism-critical positions. It is also no coincidence that these clerics of all people are waving their fear of a „new world order“ around. The whole thing is organized by a notorious ultra-right-wing populist – namely Steve Bannon. The man who brought Donald Trump to power through tons of fake news and conspiracy theories.
By the way, there are strong indications that the art product „QAnon“, a fictitious Internet personality, is a product of Steve Bannon. He is the thinking head and mastermind of the so-called new right.
The American government, led by Donald Trump, sees itself as the victim of a Chinese conspiracy initiated either by a mysterious „Deep State“ or preferably by the Democrats – which is one and the same thing in his case. Evangelical clerics see the Corona virus as a punishment from God for homosexuality. A handful of doctors contradict the official statements and believe that the Corona virus is little more than a common flu. The population would get scared over nothing and wearing masks would be very unhealthy. And in the chest tone of conviction, many an empathy-free idiot rambles that it would only affect pre-existing patients who would have died soon anyway.  You know, just collateral damage …
In the USA, the president himself is the main accelerator of emotional states. There were protests against the curfews in several US cities and about 3000 demonstrators, some of them armed and wearing Trump campaign caps and flags, took to the streets in Michigan. Encouraged by Donald, who tweeted „Free Michigan,“ dozens of gunmen entered the parliament building in the city of Lansing.
In Germany and Austria, people suddenly took to the streets and demonstrated against the corona measures of their government. Against an alleged panic-mongering, against an allegedly intended compulsory vaccination, against the curtailment of their basic rights, against an allegedly threatened freedom of opinion, against the obligation to wear masks, against an alleged „Corona dictatorship“, against a „New World Order“ by Bill Gates and much more. What one would not have thought possible before, happened now:
People who call themselves „leftists“, right-wing conservatives, neo-Nazis, people of the freeman movement, spiritual people, and also people who had never been involved with any of the groups mentioned before, stood together in a public square and chanted „We are the people“. And of course they did not wear masks, and of course they did not keep a „minimum distance“. With righteous indignation they held flyers in their hands where „The Basic Law“ is written on them and lamented a loss of it. Although the basic right to personal liberties was only limited due to the situation and receded into the background in favor of the basic right to personal integrity of EVERYONE, suddenly not only the Corona virus seemed to mutate.
A wide range of people suddenly mutated into virus specialists and health experts, legal luminaries and political insiders. It was not at all helpful if individual physicians and virologists publicly held different views, which are not in accordance with the scientific consensus. These people were suddenly elevated to „heroes of „truth“ and made anti-witnesses of the establishment.
Like moths to a flame, all the discontented, angry opponents of the system, critics of capitalism, right-wing populists pouring oil on the fire, bawling bald-headed people and „Merkel must go“ yellers flocked together and mingled with yoga practitioners, meditators, as well as people who simply wanted a „better system“. Emotional fire accelerators like KenFM, Sven Liebich, Lügenstöckl, NPD offshoots and various AFD supporters moderated the „happening“ and it did not take long until this situation led to the foundation of a new party – called „Resistance 2020“. Founded by Victoria Hamm, the Sinsheim swindle doctor Bodo Schiffmann and the Leipzig lawyer Ralf Ludwig.
The appeal of „Resistance 2020“ continued as long as Covid 19 and the restrictions imposed by governments were highly active. In the meantime this has abated. First the chairwoman Victoria Hamm stepped down from the party (because of internal differences of opinion), her replacement, the chairwoman of the supervisory board of „Humanimity“, Sandra Wesolek, also threw in the towel soon after. And now also the founder and vice-chairman of the party, Bodo Schiffmann, has left Resistance 2020. Only Ralf Ludwig remains, who keeps the coma patient „Resistance 2020“ alive.
In conclusion – it will not yet be completely silent about the topic Covid – 19, but it slowly fades in its importance. At least for the moment. If we are lucky and there will be no 2nd or third wave, it will stay that way.
Crisis intensification
Another topic has now captured the attention of the world, people and media – a topic that has never been completely absent: racism and police brutality in the USA.
The violent death of the African-American George Floyd, after a police operation, was followed by peaceful protests in the USA, but there were also riots and looting. And as in dealing with the corona virus, Donald Trump shifts to denial of the structural problem, puts the blame on others and does just about anything to pour even more fire into the heated atmosphere.
Under the hashtag #blackllivesmatter, which has been known since 2013 and is a name for an African-American civil rights movement, people are gathering again to demonstrate against state arbitrariness, police brutality and unfair treatment of dark-skinned people. Previous slogans of the movement, such as „Hands up, don’t shoot“, „White silence is violence“, „No justice, no peace“, „Is my son next?“ are being used again, including the now popular „I can’t breathe“ and „BlackOutTuesday“.
It is no longer just a movement of the „black community“. Within just a few days, numerous politicians, celebrities and large companies have raised their voices and spoken out in favor of the BlackLivesMatter movement. More and more representatives of the video game industry are also joining in. Sony, for example, has refrained from presenting the new Playstation 5 due to the current situation. But also companies like Microsoft, Activision, EA, Massive Entertainment, Square Enix, Bethesda, Naughty Dog, Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros, and many other global big players made clear statements against racism and expressed their solidarity. Over 50 influential companies have donated large sums of money to the movement.
Yes, Soros‘ Open Society Foundation is one of them (about $33 million), but is rather outdone by all others, especially FORD Foundation and Borealis Philanthropy (about $100 million). Also worthy of mention are the Hill-Snowden Foundation, Solidaire, the NoVo Foundation, the Association of Black Foundation Executives, the Neighborhood Funders Group-Funders for Justice, Anonymous Donors, and many more.
It is already becoming apparent that this issue could potentially break Donald Trump’s neck and prevent his re-election. „Poor Donald“, after his mismanagement in the Corona crisis became visible to everyone, now police brutality and racism challenge him. And here again he reacts headlessly and impulse-driven instead of showing presidential leadership. Instead he meets the problem in the familiar perpetrator-victim reversal tactic.
Incidentally, the same thing happens as in the Covid 19 demonstrations in Austria and Germany – extreme right-wing „withe supremacy“ agitators mingle with the demonstrators. They incite people and loot, start brawls and set fire to buildings. Incited by Donald Trump, who simply claimed that it was „the ANTIFA“ that was firing up the demonstrations, his followers do everything in their power to discredit the movement and make it look bad in the eyes of the public.
In a series of messages, a Twitter account called „Antifa US“ had called on protesters to march into neighborhoods and „take what is ours“. Twitter itself had cleared up the fact that behind this account „American Identity Movement“ is the extreme right-wing formerly known as „Identity Evropa“, that was behind the protest and deleted the account.
Blacklivesmatter is a movement that I wholeheartedly endorse. What I find less good about it is that this conglomeration of people is happening on the streets while the corona virus is still highly active in the  world. There is also no question of keeping a distance, a large majority can be seen wearing masks during the protests, but not all of them. I fear that this will have some unpleasant consequences. But the German demonstrations against a „Corona dictatorship“ and against police arbitrariness and brutality by blacklivesmatter could not be more different.
The sense of demonstrating against a world domination by Bill Gates and an alleged forced chippings or because one is forced to wear a mask temporarily stinks against blacklivesmatter. This is about addressing really important issues of the human species. The core statement of „Blacklivesmatter“ is – “ stop treating us like shit!“
It did not take long, of course, for the rumor mill to start bubbling on this topic as well and the „usual suspects“ went peddling „THE truth“ about it to everyone. You know, from „it’s all a government diversion“ to George Floyd wouldn’t be dead. It would all be a false flag operation and George Soros would be behind the protests. Xavier Naidoo also tells his followers about it and although the man from Mannheim had his own experiences with racism, he is not too stupid to devalue the blacklivesmatter movement. He described the demonstrators who are now taking to the streets against racism and police violence as hypocrites. And ends with a whataboutism rant – „anyone who comes up with an organization called Black lives matter is a divider“.
Naidoo justified his statement by saying that for him all lives count. Sounds plausible on the surface but clearly demonstrates that he did not understand the fundamental problem at all. Naidoo parrots something he has probably read or heard from Alex Jones or another opponent from the disinformation movement. The blacklivesmatter movement has been struggling with such whataboutism arguments from the beginning, since 2013. Not surprisingly, „All Lives Matter“ is often used as a counter-argument by the racist „white supremacy“ groups.
Barack Obama found good words for this: „I think the reason why the organizers use the term „Black Lives Matter“ was not because they wanted to imply that other lives do not matter. They are saying that there is a specific problem in the African American community that does not exist in other communities. This is a legitimate problem that we need to address.
Sounds logical, right? It is. Let’s say you broke your arm and you go to the doctor. He won’t tell you – „all bones count“, but will turn to the current problem. The bone that is just broken. If your house is on fire, the fire department will not tell you “ all houses caunt“ – they will simply put out the fire.
If you come to blacklivesmatter with alllivesmatter, you are part of the problem not the solution. This tries to ignore or disguise the problem by directing the criticism behind it to another topic.
It is definitely crisis – and virus time
A virus form that is completely unknown to most people is going around and is at least as infectious as Covid 19. They are mental and emotional viruses. Positive, negative, destructive and constructive viruses of all kinds. Created by humans every day and they influence all humans, more or less.
We are usually not used to accept the idea that our thoughts as well as our feelings and the words we utter have substantial meanings. Substantial is literally meant here – both thoughts, emotions and words contain substances that act as carriers of their expression. Through which the respective content of thoughts, feelings/emotions and words is transported, which always involves an „inaudible“, complex bundling of frequencies and takes on form, sound and tones. We do not „just think“, we generate a thought form for it, depending on the intensity of our respective thoughts – a kind of „pale being“.
And we do not „just feel“, we generate emotional signatures that can be perceived, „read“, felt and recognized by other people, consciously or unconsciously. We do not „just talk“, our words always convey a large context of mental and emotional content. Whoever listens carefully can often discover contradictions in the words, because the transported feelings are not in harmony with them.
As the person we are, we resemble a piano. We are a musical instrument with many keys and tones, with which the most diverse vibration frequencies can be expressed. Depending on how well we have learned to handle our instrument and how the individual tones are tuned, it will decide how harmonious or disharmonious our personal sound, our own melody, is. Everything we think, feel, say or do sounds through us and creates sounds that are received by others.
The more sensitive a person is or the better he can listen, the more contents of his counterpart he will be able to perceive. How aware someone is or is not of these levels, however, is basically irrelevant. The thought forms, emotional content, sounds and frequencies of other people are also perceived unconsciously. Basically, we all speak through individualized codes – the spoken or written words mean nothing in themselves. The linear arrangement of symbols (letters) that form words has a meaning for us because they are charged with emotional and mental sounds that form a kind of overall picture. We all encode such images on a daily basis and send them out from us. And we all decode every day a huge accumulation of sent consciousness images – which we have either seen, heard or read.
How much we are influenced by the opinions of other people or media – their generated images – depends to a large extent on our own identity structure. And on the respective topics that are founded in it.
Our exchange of information and images becomes a virus – either constructive or destructive – when it spreads in wide circles and becomes more and more emotionally charged. Our thoughts, emotions and the words we speak not only influence ourselves, but also other people. This means we infect other people with our ideas. And other people infect us with their ideas. If an idea or assertion fascinates, impresses, captivates or outrages us, it can go so far that we forget the origin and, spurred on by the charge of an idea, run amok with it.
All of us together are embedded in a collective frequency field, which is reflected in personal, national and global situations. None of us is virtually „an island“, we all manipulate and influence each other. We can hardly escape this, unless we have no contact to other people anymore. But even then it would probably be difficult to escape the collective astral field.
The collective field contains positive, negative, destructive and constructive viruses of all kinds. We encounter emotional and mental viruses all the time, but nowhere in such a concentrated form as in the „social media“. In this respect, the Internet is a single, gigantic virus slingshot. And all of us who make use of it cannot get away with it.
The opinion of others
The technical development of the Internet has made it possible for us to be exposed to a storm of opinions and views on a daily basis in a way that has never been possible before. About 22,510 GB of data are fed into the Internet every second. That is about 2 billion GB per day (exactly 1,944,864.00 GB [2015]). YouTube has a monthly data volume of about 16 Exabyte (Exabyte = 1018 Byte). About 3 million videos per hour are consumed on YouTube. There are 1. 012 315 000 websites on the net. About 16 million of these websites are hacked annually.
About 4 million new blog entries are written every day, 80 million photos are uploaded to Instagram, 618 million „tweets“ are posted – that is 7130 tweets per second. Facebook processes 2.5 billion pieces of content, 2.7 billion likes and 300 million photos every day. All in all, this adds up to a daily data volume of more than 500 terabytes, just for FB alone. About 4 billion search queries are made daily via Google and 10 billion videos are viewed on YouTube. And these numbers will increase, the rush on our inner senses will become more and more intense.
One drama after the other is being chased through the internet every day. An ever-increasing number of bloggers and websites vie for our daily attention. And hardly anybody takes the time to ask themselves, is it really true what I hear or read? What is it really about? And what would be even more important: Does it really have anything to do with ME? Is this really MINE? Or did I just get infected with an emotional virus that is related to a personal topic?
Although we humans generally assume that we have reasonable opinions and justifiable arguments, or that we see the world with clear eyes – this is rarely the case. Each of us lives in our own reality and we all believe that the world is as we secretly assume it to be. The perspective of how we see the world is largely based on the filter of our own beliefs.
One of the effects that has come through the Internet is the amazing development that many people have become aware of how the mainstream press often reports manipulatively or at least with omission – and sometimes doesn’t present the whole picture. By the way, this is not the fault of the press. Nobody can cover all sides of a story, and certainly not in a single article. If you want to know halfway exactly what’s going on, you have to make an effort yourself and look at different perspectives. But the same people then believe every shit that somebody says on YouTube. Actually, many people today don’t believe anything anymore.
But „alternative facts“ to the corona crisis, you believe them. Doctors who are not virologists or virologists who have not been up to date in this field for a long time, we listen to them more than to the top specialists.
We believe that a statesman who uses victim reversal as a means of perpetration. People who lament with a chest sound of the conviction that the Basic Law is in danger – we let ourselves be influenced by that. We reject a black civil rights movement because we allow ourselves to be persuaded that this means that not all lives count. One encounters „BlackLivesMatter“ with WhiteLivesMatter or „AllLivesMatter. Or if someone once again complains – „you’re not allowed to say all this anymore“ – we agree with indignation. Not realizing that he/she has just said it on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, blogs, etc. Which of course leads the statement ad absurdum, but somehow we don’t really notice it anymore.
A youth movement for environmental awareness, „Friday for future“, is met with „Friday for poverty in old age“. Renewable forms of energy, such as wind turbines that generate renewable electricity, are met with „but they kill innocent insects“. If you read somewhere, in any newspaper, that right-wing extremist violence has increased again in the last year, you don’t have to wait long for someone to comment „hey, what about left-wing violence? A women’s movement for sexual abuse and violence is countered with the argument that there is also abuse of women against men. An African-American movement against police brutality and structural racism is countered with „and what about racism against whites? Particularly deep-seated – „what about racism against Germans?
What is actually wrong with us?
Why do we let „whataboutism arguments“ manipulate us? Why can’t we see through the transparency of such cheap maneuvers and recognize that they distract us from the actual core of a situation or a justified criticism and divert our attention to another area?
Besides all the positive and constructive things the Internet stands for, there is also a dark side to it. Among other things it is misused for a modern form of witch hunts and witch burning. Angela Merkel, Greta Thunberg, Barack Obama, George Soros, Bill Gates, the Rothschilds, Rockefeller and many other public figures are burned at some Internet stake every day, applauded and cheered. And this comes not only from the right, but from all sides. If you look at the comments on such postings, you can observe the violent reactions, where a storm of indignation, anger and hatred is unleashed, which is then projected onto the designated persons.
The art of differentiation seems to have become a lost art.
There is such a variety of information and opinions, often colored by interests, sometimes just imaginatively lied about and only partially true, that it would basically take some time and energy to separate the facts from rumors and lies. A personal effort that hardly anyone is willing to put in, or perhaps doesn’t have the time.
But that is what we all have to learn.
Media competence
Without media competence, we run the risk of drowning in the flood of information. Not only reading texts, but also watching YouTube videos or films today requires more and more critical discernment. The critical filtering of information, comments, text content and the images offered in addition, is proving to be an ever increasing challenge. Today, for every x any topic, completely different and often contradictory opinions are in circulation. And we are experiencing the phenomenon that people often only read the headlines of articles and not the whole article. The attention threshold has become extremely low for some people. Headlines alone can lead to emotional convulsions …
It is important that we learn to understand how communication works and how information affects us. When we read or hear words, we don’t just sort the meaning of the words and sum them up in a particular context. We also record all the unsaid, the energetic, mental and emotional signatures that the speaker or writer gives to their words. It is already scientifically known that in communications, brains are synchronized. To a synchronization of brain waves that goes beyond mere speech processing. It will not be long before we discover that this synchronization does not only occur in spoken communication, but in any kind of communication, even when the information is transported via screens.
If we identify with what someone writes or says because something within us resonates with it, then synchronization occurs with the mental, intellectual and emotional content that is presented to us. Emotional content of all kinds affects the heart field, the glands and the electrochemical energies of the body, i.e. the energetic environment in the body, which causes either an increase or decrease of the personal energy level.
The question that arises is, what do I focus my personal attention on? And can I think for myself or do I simply take over every piece of information offered to me, which includes concepts and perspectives from other people that I usually don’t even know? If we take over everything that strangers prepare for us, we are condemned to walk around with concepts that are not our own.
But the only person who has a responsibility here, what kind of information he lets into his system, is me. The only person who is able to differentiate between the information and my personal feeling about it is me. The only one who can learn to check the opinions of others is me. Nobody will do that for me.
Nevertheless, it is also true that constant effort, investigation, checking and research is no guarantee for a secure knowledge – sometimes you are simply confronted with the fact that you cannot know at the moment! But you can learn to endure that.
What we see is in my eyes, in many respects, an expression of a massive crisis of orientation and a resulting upheaval. Humanity is beginning to define itself anew, once again. We are moving from an age where people were rather „prisoners of their consciousness“ and their experience, to an epoch where people understand that they are NOT their consciousness. But that his consciousness is an attribute, a quality, his very own being and his creative power. And how this is expressed, lies in his very personal responsibility.
The old psychological self of humanity, which accepted oppression of the weak, predator capitalism, perpetrator-victim conversion, wars, exploitation of earth and humanity, will be replaced. But this old energy is struggling for survival. Hard and fierce. We are far from being through this.
One thing can be sure – the next crisis is waiting. And again it will be driven through the Internet village in an over-dramatized way. Where will you stand then? To which side will you then give your spiritual support? What will you be guided by? Your reason and your own views after you have dealt with the situation to some extent or will you follow the emotional pull that was triggered by the opinions of others?
What kind of sound will you add to the overall melody?
Until next time same station
DISCLAIMER: Nothing you read here is THE truth. It is my truth. My perception and how I see things – now, in this moment.

Yes, you need more. Predidtions midfield will be overwhelmed by City's ridiculous movement and synchronicity. Pick: Manchester City preductions, Borussia Dortmund 0. Chiu's take: Borrusia Dortmund are without Jadon Today uefa champions league predictions thigh against a Manchester City that has won 26 of their last 27 matches championns all competitions. It would be silly to bet against Manchester City at this point. Even though Manchester City have not allowed a UCL goal in minutes, I expect them to at least concede because of Erling Haaland, who has scored 20 goals in 14 Champions League games.
It is hard to argue against that stat. Johnson's take: The Germans need an encouraging performance while Pep Guardiola's side is arguably the strongest predictiosn this chmapions in today uefa champions league predictions. I think City will win with Dortmund pushing them closer than most.
Pick: Manchester City 2, Today uefa champions league predictions Dortmund 1. Benge's take: Pep Guardiola's side looks like bringing truth to the cliche that defense wins championships. Not since Matchday 1 have they let in a goal and the Ruben Dias-John Stones tandem might be enough to stop even Erling Haaland, or at least constrict supply tocay to him. Up the other end, you can rest assured that City will score, they ought to have one foot in the semifinal by the time the first leg is done.

Pick: Manchester City 1, Borussia Dortmund 1. Goodman's take: Erling Haaland may get all the attention and might even be headed for Manchester City next season but it's the City defensive masterclasses that Pep Guardiola consistently orchestrates that will prevail. Germany: the next BIG destination for Indian Talent
My tryst with Indo German Talent Mobility started when I was at National Skill Development Corporation, (NSDC) about a decade back.I was leading the discussions from NSDC withGIZ, the German Society for International Vocational Education and Training (VET) collaboration. We had protracted discussions, Seminars and Workshops on how we can collaborate for Talent Mobility and Dual VET. These interactions have resulted in much collaboration and understanding, and now GIZ even has staff within NSDC.
Historically, Germany and India have had exchanges of talent from the time industrial age has dawned, and especially after the Second World War - 70 years ago - when companies like Siemens and Mercedes came to India. They sent many Indian technicians to Germany, including one of my uncles, who went to Mercedes Germany to understand Truck Cab Design.
All the good features of an effective and efficient skill development system have been incorporated in the German Dual Vocational Education and Training (VET) System.
·        Firstly, the industry is very deeply involved in the entire process. It is they who provide a large part of the “on the job” training, which is so critical for technical learning to be imbibed by trainees.
·        Secondly, there is a structured curriculum, which is focused by trade, and based on practical learning for every trade.
·        And thirdly, the VET system has career progression built into it, allowing the youth to become more and more efficient in their trade.
Today, an interesting stage has been reached in the labour markets of both Germany and India. Germany with a population of 80 million, has a shortage of more than a millionin a large number of professions. In order to fill these shortcomings in the labour market, the country has amended its Labour Laws, and introduced the Skilled Immigration Act, which has kicked in from March 1, 2020.The new law expands the framework under which qualified professionals from non-EU countries can come to work in Germany. Also, the employment of qualified professionals from outside the EU with vocational, i.e. non-academic training, is no longer restricted to occupations experiencing a skills shortage. If someone has a vocational training qualification recognised in Germany, their residence permit allowing them to work in a specific occupation will also allow them to work in Germany in all occupations covered by their qualification.
This is a very potent Act, and can greatly facilitate the way in which youth from countries like India can participate in the German labour market.
India, having had more than two decades of very focused vocational education and training, has now got professionals who are proficient in their trades, and match global skill standards. India regularly wins medals at Worldskills Competitions, and bagged a whopping 23 of them in the last Championship. This will allow them to seamlessly get integrated into the German labour market.
Typically, for Indian candidates to be attractive in the German market, they need to be upskilled in two areas: (a) knowledge in German up to A2 level (preferably B1/B2 level) and (b) technical upskilling to German standards in sectors like manufacturing and construction.
This is where the company that I co-founded, Magic Billion, comes into play. Not only are we at the forefront of sending trained Indian candidates to overseas markets, but we also have a world class training infrastructure in Kolkata (India) for technical upskilling and a language training center in Noida (India).
Our centers can also be usedby German employers to provide basic training and conducting assessments, after which selected Indian candidates can move to Germany.

Some Pictures of Magic Billion Training Centre at Kolkata India
I was recently in Germany (in January 2020, pre-Covid), and visited various Industry Associations (called IHKs). I met with the representatives of Potsdam, Magdeburg and Frankfurt Oder(pictures in this order below), all in the Bavarian Region, who all speak on behalf of employers in those regions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every single meeting was about German employers either seeking apprentices, semi-skilled or skilled workers in trades from welders, fitters, machinists, to service industry candidates in hospitality, and to high end IT professionals. Many models were suggested, from apprentices, to trained candidates, with options of language training in India or Germany.
There are various customized models that Magic Billion can offer German employers, and each of these models would be curated uniquely for every employer.
·        One model can be for IHKs and/or employers to indicate their requirement of apprentices by trade. Magic Billion can select suitable youth from 350 million Indians, get them interviewed by employers, and provide extensive German language and technical training in India, before they go to Germany. This way the youth can enjoy their apprenticeship to the fullest, and employers too would be happy to get youth who have similar language and technical skills to native candidates.
·        Another model can be for German employers to similarly indicate their requirements of trained workers in various sectors, like healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing or agriculture, and Magic Billion can help with sourcing, screening and selection of such candidates. There can be options for language and technical training in Magic Billion facilities before their dispatch to Germany.
·        For high end professionals like IT, Banking and Finance etc, Magic Billion can also help with sourcing, screening and selection of such candidates. Here again there can be options of language training, for the short term, or long term if the candidates are compensated for their time by their German employers.
Indians stand ready to support the German economy to grow. In 2018, the highest number of Blue Cards in Germany were issued to Indians –the then German ambassador in Delhi, Michael Steiner, said at a Global Skills Summit organised by FICCI, in 2013, that while India has the advantage of a young workforce, Germany is an ageing society that needs skilled workers. While this statement is true, there is a chasm of a skill and language gap that Indian youth need to fill before they can be inducted into the German Labour Market.
And this is where companies like Magic Billion come in. We are able to study the skill gap, understand the technical qualifications of both countries, and create skilling models for rapidly up skilling selected Indian youth to technical, linguistic and cultural standards as required by German employers. If we can do this with near 100% success rates for employers from 10 countries spread from Japan to US, we can definitely do the same in Germany.

What do you think of Suvorov's Icebreaker thesis?
I haven’t read the book, but in broad outlines it seems like a fair summary of Stalinist grand strategy:
Icebreaker: Who Started the Second World War?, by Viktor Suvorov (Russian title: Ledokol, Ледокол) is a book which claims that Soviet leader Joseph Stalin used Nazi Germany as an "icebreaker" to start a war in Europe which would allow for the Soviet Union to come in, clean up, and take control of all of Europe. ...
Suvorov claims that, just as Stalin eliminated his political enemies by pitting them against one another, so too was the plan when he gave Hitler the support to attack Poland, knowing that the act would trigger a war between Germany and the United Kingdom and its allies.
Stalin believed that inter-capitalist conflict was inevitable. Following Lenin, Stalin believed that advanced capitalist states had more or less exhausted their domestic sources of accumulation and had turned against one another in the competition for markets.
For Stalin, as for Lenin, the Great War had been a great vindication of that thesis. The capitalists had not banded together, but had instead destroyed one another. The Great War had been an opportunity for the Bolsheviks: Wherever inter-capitalist war destroyed the foundations of the old order, socialist revolution could find its footing. The Bolsheviks took Russia. They nearly took Germany, Italy, Poland and Hungary, too.
The rise of European fascism was another vindication. Capitalists could not work together. They radicalized themselves, turning on one another in a struggle for markets and resources. That was what fascism was: radical, reactionary capitalism.
Today we can see Hitler’s Germany as the head of a fascist international, with allies in Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Vichy France, and friends in Spain and Portugal. The fascist movement seems unified and the fascist threat seems urgent.
But from the perspective of 1939, that alignment was not so clear: Italy had protested the German annexation of fascist Austria; Italy and Spain stayed out of Germany’s war; and Romania and Bulgaria were on the fence.
From Stalin’s perspective, the fascists were no better at sticking together than the liberals had been. The liberals had torn each other apart in July 1914. Whether or not the fascists defeated the liberals, they would tear themselves apart sooner or later.
To Stalin, the rise of fascism was another opportunity, like the Great War had been. The fascists might have defeated socialism in Italy -- Italian socialists lacked the discipline of their Russian brothers -- but a fascist revolt had also delivered a great revolutionary opportunity in Spain, before the liberals and anarchists frittered it away.
Now, in August 1939, Germany offered Stalin a great deal: Germany could be turned against the liberals in the West while helping take the Baltic and Poland for socialism. Russia could build itself up -- and extract great terms from a desperate Germany -- while the Germans wore itself down.
I do not know whether Stalin expected Germany to be drawn into war with Britain and France over Poland. But in September 1939 it must have seemed like a good outcome.
Germany would be preoccupied with Western Europe, which must have made Stalin feel more secure. And before May 1940, it looked like for all the world like it would be a reprise of the Great War: Germany would throw its armies against Britain and France until it exhausted itself. And that was great news for Stalin.
If either Germany or Western Europe fell apart, it would be a wonderful opportunity for socialist revolution -- like the crisis of 1917 in Russia or 1918 in Central Europe -- and either the Bolsheviks themselves or their communist allies would take control of the wreckage.
We tend to think of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact as an agreement that revealed the dark heart of state socialism, but for Stalin, the inter-capitalist war revealed capitalism for what it really was. Perhaps this time the European masses would finally wake from their nightmare. Stalin would be there to help when they did.
Now, May 1940 didn’t turn out like Stalin expected. Neither did June 1941. But those were tactical mistakes. The strategic belief -- that capitalism was imperialist, and capitalist states would ultimately turn on one another -- never went away. That was how Stalin would win the Cold War: the capitalists would not stick together.
But now -- having written all of the above -- I see that Suvorov’s Icebreaker thesis is actually something more specific than that is outlined above:
Suvorov challenges the view that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime attacked an unsuspecting USSR on June 22, 1941 with a much superior and better prepared force. Instead, Suvorov argues that the Soviet Union was poised to invade Nazi-controlled territories in July 1941.
Now this I don’t believe. Stalin had barely eked out a win against Finland. He was not eager to start a big war with Germany. He was not a gambler like Hitler. And unlike Hitler, Stalin could afford to wait.
I don’t have any special insight into Soviet military strategy and dispositions in June 1941, but David Glantz does, and he thinks it’s nonsense:
A noteworthy rebuttal of Suvorov's thesis is contained in Colonel David Glantz's work Stumbling Colossus: The Red Army on the Eve of World War. Glantz views Suvorov's argument as "incredible" on a variety of fronts: first, Suvorov rejects without examination classified ex-Soviet archival material, and makes highly selective picks from memoirs. Glantz points to this as a serious methodological flaw. Further, Glantz argues, Suvorov's thesis is strongly contradicted both by ex-Soviet and German archival material, and the facts do not support the argument that the Red Army was prepared to invade Germany. On the contrary, the appalling lack of readiness, poor training level, and abysmal state of deployments show that the Red Army was unprepared for static defense, much less large-scale offensive operations. Glantz's conclusion is that "Stalin may well have been an unscrupulous tyrant, but he was not a lunatic."

Commenting on the existing plans for a Soviet preemptive strike, Robin Edmonds argues that "the Red Army planning staff would not have been doing its job if it had not devoted some time between 1939 and 1941 to the possibility, at some future date, of a pre-emptive strike against Wehrmacht". David Brandenberger notes that recently published pre-1941 German analysis of Soviet military readiness also does not support the major Icebreaker's thesis demonstrating that Soviet preparations were assessed to be "defensive" by German intelligence."
Although Suvorov claims that an attack date of July 6, 1941 had been selected, this is contradicted by the evidence as presented by Glantz and others. There were no stockpiles of fuel, ammunition, and other stores held in forward areas as would have been needed if an invasion was about to be mounted. Major ground units were dispersed into small garrisons rather than being concentrated at railheads, as they would have been had they been preparing an invasion. Units were not co-located with their own transportation assets, leaving, for example, major artillery units immobile. Over 50% of all Soviet tanks required major maintenance on June 22, 1941. If an invasion were being planned, these maintenance tasks would have been completed. Most Soviet armor units were in the process of re-organizing into the new Tank Corps formations; the German invasion caught these units in the midst of this reorganization. Such a large-scale reorganization is inconsistent with an impending invasion.

Summarising the western scholars' opinion on Icebreaker Hugh Ragsdale concludes that the book is "generally considered discredited" by now, whereas Jonathan Haslam notes that Suvorov's claims "would be comical were it not taken so seriously".
I haven’t read any of the underlying material but this sounds more persuasive to me -- and more consistent with what I do know -- than Suvorov’s thesis.
