'Sterling K. Brown, who received an Oscar nomination for best actor in a supporting role for his turn as Clifford Ellison in “American Fiction,” doesn’t think he’ll be taking home the coveted trophy at this year’s awards ceremony.
During a guest appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” on Friday, Brown said he knows he won’t win and that he’s “totally fine with it.”
“I’mma tell you, Robert Downey Jr.‘s gonna win, and he’s incredibly deserving. He’s an incredible actor. Like, you should give him love,” Brown said. “The fact that I get a chance to be nominated along with him and Mr. [Robert] De Niro and Ryan Gosling and [Mark] Ruffalo… I’m just happy to be in the room.”
Brown also added that he believes actor Colman Domingo, who was invited as a guest on the British talk show alongside Brown and actors Dakota Johnson and Domhnall Gleeson, will win the Oscar for best actor in a leading role for his turn as Bayard Rustin in “Rustin.”
This is Brown’s first-ever Academy Award nomination, a feat he’s incredibly proud of.
He recently took to Instagram to revel in the news: “I didn’t know how else to respond to share my gratitude,” Brown posted. “I want [to say] thank you to the Academy. For somebody who’s been watching the Oscars their whole life, I’ve never been. I’ve had a few things that have been in contention or whatnot, but this will be my first time actually going to the party, and it’s an honor to get the invite.”
As for his chances, Brown isn’t the only one who believes he’s not the frontrunner in the supporting actors race, as Variety senior awards editor Clayton Davis predicts that Downey Jr. will secure the Oscar for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.”'

Had my own mini Barbenheimer on my flight home. My seatmate watched Oppenheimer while I watched Barbie (for the first time). It was a cute moment with a really kind stranger <3
On Barbie, I think I would've loved it ten years ago tbh. The aesthetic and music were so great, but I found the combo of the really blunt feminist commentary and the not quite fully campy nature of the movie not quite my style. Somebody on here framed it as "feminism 101" that's really for younger audiences and people who still don't Get It and need the really blunt conversation to lay things out. It also felt a little surface level to me.
Beyond that, I felt like besides Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, the cast neither fully committed to campy nor hit a serious tone in messaging. And the acting just felt a little flat to me because of it. Michael Cera also excluded since he was basically just playing a Michael Cera type character and I always love that. It really puts into context the award nominations conversation from a few months ago into better perspective for me. Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu were by far my standouts (ironic given the point of the movie).

Arthur the King Overview | A Stable however Typically Tacky True Story Journey
Abstract - Arthur the King is a healthful, tear-jerking journey movie that showcases the unbreakable bond between a racer and his furry companion. - Do not be fooled by the tacky trailer; whereas it actually depends on melodramatic 'canine film' tropes, it is not as tacky because it may very well be. - Whereas not groundbreaking, the film gives a feel-good expertise good for households and followers of canine companions on the large display screen. In our latest interview with Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg, he dubbed his new undertaking Arthur the King a "massive, four-quadrant film." There may be actually a case to be made for mentioned declare, and do not be shocked if Arthur the King makes a minimum of an satisfactory revenue on the field workplace. In spite of everything, the earlier Wahlberg collaboration with director Simon Cellan Jones, aka The Household Plan, shattered Apple TV+ streaming data. The 2 truly teamed up for Arthur the King first, a completely completely different type of film however with that very same family-like really feel to it. It is now being launched in theaters. It is fairly secure, kid-friendly content material on that word, and never very boundary-pushing materials — particularly compared to early Wahlberg hits like Boogie Nights and I Coronary heart Huckabees. Wahlberg has confronted controversy over time, particularly after final 12 months's SAG Awards when his previous resurfaced, so it appears becoming that (with Father Stu) a trio of crowd-pleasers would possibly assist ease him again into the highlight. Effectively performed, publicists, nicely performed.
Formulaic Heroism — However Typically That is OK
Arthur the King 3/5 Launch DateMarch 15, 2024 DirectorSimon Cellan Jones StudioLions Gate Movies, Tucker Tooley Leisure Execs Ukai offers an indredible canine efficiency as Arthur. A stable tear-jerker with nice athleticism and journey scenes. Cons Sometimes is decreased to the cheesiest melodramatic tropes. somebody like Mikael Lindnord (performed by Wahlberg) on the large display screen. "That is my final likelihood to win," he tells his spouse (Nathalie Emmanuel) within the first act, as he gears up for one final likelihood at an adventure-racing world championship. The opening sequence exhibits him failing, with trash-talking teammate Leo (Simu Liu) blaming the cussed Mikael for his or her loss. A lot to Mikael's chagrin, he should strategy Leo to assist with the next 12 months's subsequent try on the coveted trophy. Simu Liu, recent off his Barbie flip as one of many Kens alongside Ryan Gosling, does not precisely up his performing sport with this position, however followers of his attractiveness will certainly take pleasure in seeing him in motion right here. And on that word, the attractive Nathalie Emmanuel (Sport of Thrones) can also be a part of the staff, providing a reliably stable flip as an aspiring athlete motivated by her ailing father. As soon as the ragtag staff is assembled, they head to Ecuador to prepared for the large race — and by "massive," we imply "200 miles" massive. For these not acquainted, journey racing is a mixture of operating, mountaineering, biking, ziplining, and extra. And on that word, maybe probably the most gripping scene is a terrifying zipline ordeal the place the rig malfunctions whereas a few racers (Mikael included) are suspended 500 toes within the air. There might be gasps and shrieks inside your movie show; it is fairly cool seeing the calm and picked up Mikael assist rescue his teammate throughout this tense sequence. If solely Arthur the King contained extra of those thrills — however that is the place the loving canine enters the image to save lots of the day, in additional methods than one...
Do not Be Afraid to Shed a Tear in Arthur the King
The lovable Ukai performs the canine Arthur right here, and he is a marvel on-screen alongside Wahlberg and firm because the staff races to the end line; that is actually top-of-the-line performances from a canine in latest historical past. Certain, there are a couple of overtly tacky moments with the canine that may simply make the typical cinephile cringe, however for probably the most half, it is endearing to see a brave furry pal on the large display screen. No, this is not a talking-dog film, thank goodness. However the movie's promotional trailer, in the event you've seen it, does not precisely do the tip consequence justice — between the upbeat Macklemore observe and the tacky strains that the trailer clips, you would possibly watch the promo materials and go, "Oof, one in all these motion pictures?" However happily it does not lean into mentioned cheesiness an excessive amount of, and you will in all probability find yourself shedding a tear or two through the climactic third act. The precise race is simply the tip of the iceberg, as Mikael then pushes to save lots of his ailing new furry pal, who has clearly been via the ringer earlier than stumbling upon the journey racing squad. It is heartwarming stuff seeing Mikael sleep exterior on the road with Arthur, since they quickly be taught that the road is the one place the canine feels secure enjoyable.
Associated The Greatest Canine Films of All Time Selecting our favourite canines can be too arduous, so we ranked the most effective canine motion pictures as a substitute. These moments of Mikael considering arduous about Arthur's well-being might remind one in all Clint Eastwood's movie Invictus, the place Matt Damon's rugby participant stays up at night time considering arduous about one thing — at first, we predict it is his upcoming rugby match, however as a substitute, he is enthusiastic about Nelson Mandela's unbelievable journey throughout a rustic that when betrayed him. Equally, Wahlberg's Mikael not cares a lot about profitable his journey race, however moderately guaranteeing his new furry pal stays alive and wholesome. Certain, the opposite subplots involving different staff members are forgettable, and sure sad-dog close-ups would possibly make you eye-roll, however total, Arthur the King is a must-see for athletic diehards and, after all, canine lovers in all places. From Lionsgate, Arthur the King hit theaters March fifteenth, 2024. You may meet the canine who performs Arthur within the video beneath: Read the full article

kxvinkeller replied to your post “i have literally never cared about awards season before but golden...”
i didn't watch asib, but i feel like they'll give bradley the directing win before the acting win at least some award show this season
he’ll probably win both categories at some point with the way he’s been whoring himself out this awards season (and i don’t mean that in a shady way, since i watched asib and liked his perfomance, but let’s just call a spade a spade). if rami simply gets nominated i’ll be happy lmao i’d love him to pull an upset but with the way the academy wet themselves over dull movies like first man plus their record of awarding basic white men i don’t have high expectations
#kxvinkeller#replies#i didn't know i had so many feelings about this topic whew#like brad cooper will probably win and i won't be mad#but if they award somebody like ryan gosling...

"What do you think about love at first sight? You think you can love somebody just by looking at them? But the thing is man, I felt like I knew her, you ever get that feeling? Yeah, I probably don't right... it felt like I did though. [... ] She just seems different, you know? I don't know, I just got a feeling about her. You know when a song comes on and you just gotta dance?"
Y/n was flopped on her sofa in front of her 32" TV, watching Ryan Gosling as Dean in the movie Blue Valentine talked about love at first sight to his colleague. Her old self would've thought what Dean said could be true. It happened to her after all. But her heartbroken current self judged it differently. Even if it happened, it didn't mean the couple who fell in love at first sight would live happily ever after. On the contrary, there was a bigger chance of them being miserable and ended the relationship with broken hearts in each party. Something she was definitely feeling.
It had been about three weeks after Sebastian broke up with her. Something she didn't think would be possible considering how much in love it seemed the both of them were with each other. But it wasn't like she didn't predict it already. Way before she agreed to start seeing him she already had doubts. His life as an internationally famous Hollywood actor was not compatible with her ordinary life as a mediocre journalist. She thought he would have worked harder to maintain their relationship. But apparently, just one advice from his team and he had no doubt at all in ending it with her. She was hurt, beyond hurt. She didn't think he would have the heart to do that to her. Prioritizing his career over her. But then again, he was ambitious. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have agreed to do the PR relationship with Ana.
Her mind wander back to when she was walking to her office on that fateful Monday morning, not realizing that her heart was going to be broken beyond repair that afternoon. She had just reached the subway station when she realized she had left her cellphone back at The Time Hotel's penthouse. So she quickly went back to the penthouse. When she got there, Sebastian was still having a meeting with his team. She didn't want to bother them so she quietly went up to the second floor to get her cellphone, which was left on the night stand by the bed. When she came down back to the first floor, she accidentally overheard Emma saying her name.
"We think that it would be better that you and y/n stop seeing each other, at least until the contract with Ana is over." y/n heard Emma say heavily.
"What?! Are you guys kidding me?" she heard Sebastian asked, his voice raised.
"Seb, we need you to focus for the next couple of months on press for your projects. On top of that, we have secured invites for you to attend Spirit Awards, BAFTA, the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and even The Met Gala! We've secured work for you for Valentino. And there are other jobs for you we are currently negotiating. We've planned 2022 to be your year. And we just think that perhaps.. having a relationship with y/n is not the correct thing to do right now. Especially with Ana in the mix. We don't want you to lose your focus." she heard Emma continued saying.
She didn't hear any response from Sebastian. It seemed he was thinking. She peeked outside to the patio from the first floor window. Sebastian was sitting on one of the chairs surrounding a glass rectangular table, his back to the window so she couldn't see his face.
"Sebastian, you signed up to the agency with a clear goal in mind, didn't you? You wanted success. With success, there's always a sacrifice you have to make. Remember, it's not everyday the agency hires talents. You're in the rare group of talented people the agency trusts to hire and manage. Don't give that up over a girl. Girls come and go, Sebastian." She heard Josh say.
Just then her cellphone buzzed, her boss was on the phone, looking for her it seemed. It was 9.30 am after all and she was beyond late. As much as she wanted to stay to listen to Sebastian's response to his team's request, she had to go. So, she quickly went outside from the penthouse, picked up the call from her boss and went to her office.
When she got back to the penthouse that afternoon she had a bad feeling. She entered the penthouse and found it to be really quiet, there was no sound at all. She looked for Sebastian on every room and every floor but he was gone. She checked the wardrobe and his clothes were gone too. She wanted to call him but realized she couldn't. She was afraid Ana would pick up on it. Her heart sank into her stomach as she realized what might have happened. She remembered the conversation she overheard Sebastian and his team was having that morning. She did not want to believe it.. but.. could it be that he heeded their request and decided to break up with her? Not even saying good bye to her in person? That didn't seem like him at all.
She sat on the edge of the bed in the bedroom, her chest felt tight as she tried to think of what to do. That's when she saw it, the letter Sebastian had written for her. It was folded into an envelope. The envelope was put on the night stand beside the bed, her name was written on it. She quickly picked it up, took out the letter from the envelope and read it.
"Dear Y/n,
First of all I would like to apologize for doing this through this letter and not in person. I'm afraid if I do this in person I wouldn't have been able to go through with it. Yes, I am a coward. I'm sorry Y/n. After my meeting with my team today I realized that right now I need to focus on my work. My team had done so much for me and I can't let them down. Considering what has happened with Ana and the risks to my and Lily's reputation, it seems I can't continue seeing you. It's too much of a distraction and a risk. It would be irresponsible of me if I do still see you, risking and sacrificing other people's lives and work just for my selfish desires. So, I'm sorry Y/n but I can't see you anymore.. I'm sure you're going to be angry at me, I can understand if you do. And I also understand if you never want to see me again. Take care and I hope you'll find someone one day who is more worthy of your love than stupid, and coward old me.
I'm sorry..
SS"
Y/n couldn't believe what she just read. She felt her heart broke into a thousand pieces, broken beyond repair. Tears started to stream freely down her face. As she cried and sobbed, she ripped the letter in half and scrunched it into a ball and threw it as far away as possible. It hit the window of the bedroom. The window where just yesterday morning she saw him standing at, bare chested in all his glory, mesmerizing her. The window where in front of it he held her and kissed her and where he agreed to have a bubble bath with her. How was it in just 34 hours everything changed so drastically?
She laid down on the bed and curled herself into a ball and cried. She cried for hours it seemed as she remembered every single memory with him. She remembered the first time she saw him in front of English Literature class, smiling at her and gesturing at her lips with his finger because she had pastry crumbs on her lips and how he laughed at her after she cleaned her lips. She remembered their first kiss during the spin the bottle game at his house and how they chatted and connected over cleaning his house. She remembered the moment near Constanta Casino where he told her how he felt about her, how happy and and ecstatic she felt upon hearing his confession. She remembered the moment they first made love, how much of a gentleman he was and how she felt he completed her. Everything that he had done and said to her before she read the letter seemed to indicate that he loved her so much and that she was the 'one' for him, just as he was the 'one' for her. Was it all just a lie? She thought. How could someone just change their hearts like that.
" You said for better or for worse. You said that. You said it. It was a promise. Now, this is my worst, okay? This is my worst. But I'm gonna get better."
Y/n watched as Dean begged to Cindy, his wife in the movie, played by Michelle Williams, to give him another chance. She couldn't help but shed a tear. Sebastian had made a promise to her, that he wasn't planning on letting her go, that she was his only love, that she always had his heart. But he had broken that promise. That was the reality. In real life there was no happily ever after. In real life there was no love at first sight. In real life people change. In real life no one truly loved her. Not Sebastian, not John, not Zac, not Michael, nor all of her exes throughout her life. All of them left her. Not a single one fought for her. They prioritize something or someone else above her. Michael prioritized his ego. Zac prioritized his career. John prioritized another woman. And Sebastian prioritized his career, same as Zac. Tears started to stream down her face as the realization hit her. She had no one to accompany her as she got older. And at her age it was increasingly difficult to find someone. She continued to cry as she thought of the possibility of her getting old and being alone, becoming a lonely spinster without a husband and children. Unlike some of her female friends who actually enjoyed being alone and unmarried, she actually wanted to have a family. So the fact that at her age she had no boyfriend hurt her so much.
She took a deep breath and wiped the tears from her eyes. She looked around her apartment. For the past three weeks she had it sterilized from anything related to Sebastian. She had sold everything Sebastian had bought for her, from the large 70" TV, the karaoke system, the bookcase and the books on it, the dresses, the shoes, the handbags. She only kept the heart shaped pendant and earrings. But she kept them buried deep on the back of her dresser's drawer where she couldn't just accidentally look at them. Even after all the things Sebastian bought her were gone, she still found it hard to be in her apartment. Her bed reminded her of him. Her sofa reminded her of him. Even her pantry reminded her of him. She had wanted to sleep at Shannon's place again but Shannon was unfortunately out of town for several months as she was filming for a movie. She ended up buying a folding bed and spent the nights sleeping there instead of on her bed. She also bought a sofa cover to make it seem like she was sitting on a new sofa. Unfortunately all of her efforts seemed to be failing. She couldn't help but think about him everyday even though it felt like a sharp knife pierced through her heart every time she did.
She didn't know how she had survived throughout that whole three weeks. It felt like a dream to her. Somehow she could still manage to go to work and her life was still manageable. Her apartment was clean and tidy, she didn't miss a single meal and she even went out on a run several times. Having had her heart broken multiple times in the past year probably strengthen her. She was happy about it. Perhaps it was really time that she focused on herself and forget about men. No one else could love her but herself. Unfortunately Christmas was coming, and not having anyone to spend Christmas with made her depressed again. That was why she decided to watch the movie. She needed something to make her strong again. And after watching the movie she did feel it. It was a sad and depressing movie but it helped put into perspective that love was not as great as people made it seem to be. She decided to spend Christmas at the soup kitchen. Rather than staying home alone and be depressed, her time and energy was much better spent helping other people.
-----
It was Christmas day and Y/n found herself behind the counter in the soup kitchen, serving food to the homeless and the unfortunate. Contrary to what she believed, there were less people that turned up to be served that day compared to any other regular day. Stella, the head of the soup kitchen said it was probably because a lot of other places like churches also provided meals for the homeless. After she was finished serving the food, she felt hungry so she took some of the food herself. She picked mashed potatoes, roasted chicken and some sauteed carrots and green beans. She carried the plate full of food and sat in front of Marie, a homeless woman in her 50s that she had known from the times she spent at the soup kitchen.
"Hi Marie." she greeted Marie and smiled at her.
"Hi Y/n. How are you?" Marie greeted her back.
"I'm good thank you. How are you?" she asked.
"I'm good too. Would've felt better if I can spend today with Bill. But oh well, life must go on." she said, referring to her recently deceased husband Bill.
"Oh Marie, I'm sorry to hear that." Y/n said as she reached out her hand to Marie's and squeezed it to soothe her.
"It's fine dear. It does take some getting used to living life without him. But, you gotta stay strong huh?" she said, winking at her.
Y/n smiled at her and she agreed with her. No matter what happens in life you just gotta stay strong. She was proud of herself for being able to survive the days without Sebastian. She would never be able to forget about him, that much was true. But she looked forward to being able to remember him and felt love and peace, and not felt like a thousand arrows had pierced her heart instead. It had not happened yet though. She suspected it would take more time. Time will heal all wounds or so they say.
She took a spoonful of the mashed potato and the roasted chicken. The mashed potato was smooth, creamy and delicious. But the roasted chicken smelled and tasted weird. She felt nauseous all of a sudden. She stood up quickly and ran to the restroom and threw up in the toilet. There wasn't much food that she threw up as she hadn't had much food that day. She only had a piece of bagel and coffee that morning. She stood up from the toilet, flushed it then went to the sink to clean up her mouth and hands.
After she was done washing her hands and mouth she looked up to stare at herself in the mirror and felt queasy. She wasn't feeling well. Perhaps it was time for her to go home and rest. She was done anyway serving the food to people. But she still felt hungry, so she got out of the restroom, went back to the table where she left her food and continued eating. She set the chicken aside and just ate the mashed potatoes and sauteed carrots and green beans. After she was done, she said good bye to Marie and Stella and went home.
For the next couple of days her nausea got worse. Strangely enough it was triggered only by certain smells. But once she was triggered, the nauseous feeling just wouldn't go away. She also felt extremely tired. Her lower back and lower stomach hurt, and she found herself going to the bathroom to pee much more often than before. She contemplated going to the doctor to find out what was wrong with her. But she decided to search on the internet about her symptoms first. Maybe she could find out what kind of ailment she was having and she didn't need to go the doctor. She could just buy the medicines she needed from a nearby drugstore.
She sat on her working corner in her bedroom and opened her laptop. Once her laptop was on, she opened her browser and opened the website Symptom Checker on WebMD. There on the website she typed in her symptoms: nausea, pain in lower back, lower abdominal pain, urinating more frequently, fatigue. There was an option after she put in her symptoms asking whether it was possible that she was pregnant. Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at the question. Was she pregnant? She chose the Yes option at that question and continued to get the result. To her surprise the topmost result was that she might be pregnant! Second result was she could be having a miscarriage. But she didn't have any bleeding so it wasn't likely. She leaned back on the chair, feeling weak all of a sudden. She racked her brain, trying to remember the last time she had her period. She remembered that when she went to Romania with Sebastian she was just finished her period, and after that she was supposed to have it again in early December, but she realized it hadn't shown. Oh no! Could she really be pregnant?
She stood up, put on her coat and shoes, grabbed her wallet and cellphone and decided to go get a pregnancy test from a nearby drugstore. As she walked to the drugstore she tried to remember the times she and Sebastian had sex. She remembered that they were being careful. He put protection every time. Even if he didn't, he didn't let his spend get inside her. Except.. except that first time they did it. Their very first time. Blinded by love and lust, they had forgotten to put on protection and she remembered Sebastian had let himself come inside her. She shook her head in disbelief. Feeling so angry at him and herself for being so irresponsible.
She pushed the door of the drugstore and found it empty of people. It was night after all, a little after 9 pm. The drugstore was about to close in an hour. She went straight to the cashier and asked for pregnancy tests. There were many brands and she was confused which one to get. So she decided to let the drugstore clerk chose three of the best and most sensitive ones for her. After paying for them she went straight back to her apartment.
She sat on the toilet seat, her hand shook a little holding one of the pregnancy tests in her hand. She had peed on it previously and was waiting for the result. Several minutes went by and she saw it, there were two lines on the test. She was pregnant. Her body shook in surprise as the fact hit her like a freight train. She was pregnant. With Sebastian's baby. She felt a mixture of happiness, sadness and anger at the same time. She wanted nothing more to tell Sebastian about it. But she couldn't. She realized then that the test could be wrong. So she took two more tests. Each one came back positive. She was carrying Sebastian's baby!
She went outside of the bathroom, feeling like she didn't even touched earth. She felt like she was dreaming. She carried the pregnancy tests in her hand, then sat on the folding bed and put the tests on them. She stared at them and stared at her lower stomach. She caressed her lower stomach, wondering if she could feel the growing fetus inside her. But of course she couldn't, not yet. She decided to get herself checked by a gynecologist, to make sure she really was pregnant. And if she was she wanted to make sure she and the fetus was okay. She went back to her laptop and searched for a nearby hospital. She made an appointment for the next day with a gynecologist at The Brooklyn Hospital Center at downtown Brooklyn. After she made the appointment, she went back to sit on the folding bed, set the pregnancy tests aside and laid down on the bed.
As she laid down and stared to the ceiling, she put her hand on her lower stomach, caressing it gently. She wondered where and what Sebastian was doing. She missed him so much. She wished nothing else but to be by his side. Letting him know that he was going to be a dad. She imagined he must have felt very happy knowing that he was going to be a dad. Sebastian loved children. He told her several times that he wanted to have children one day. And if he did, he wanted more than one as he felt kind of lonely being an only child. He did have a half brother and step siblings, but it still felt different, he once said. Tears started to roll down her face as she thought of Sebastian. She wondered if he would come back to be with her if he knew she was carrying his baby. Or would he still ignore her and continued to focus on his career? Unfortunately it was a question that she wouldn't know the answer to. At least for awhile.
She sat up suddenly, feeling like she missed him so much and needed him. She went to her dresser, opened the drawer and reached out to the back. She picked it up, the velvet box containing the necklace and earrings Sebastian bought her. She opened it and picked up the necklace and pendant. Her heart ached as she looked at the pendant and remembered the time they promised to each other to always be in each other's hearts. She put on the necklace on her neck, closed the box and put the box back into the drawer. Then she went to her wardrobe. She knew she still had it, his favorite white shirt. She remembered not wanting to throw it away as she felt she might need it someday. She was right. She needed to feel he was by her side, and the pendant and shirt were the only things connecting her to him that she still kept. She finally found it, his favorite shirt, buried underneath her clothes that she rarely wore. She put it near her nose and inhaled its scent. Somehow she could still smell it, his signature pine and citrus scent. The scent triggered her to cry again. She held the shirt with both hands and buried her face on it. She missed him.. so so much.. now more than ever. She sank down onto the floor in front of her wardrobe, her body shook in sadness, she wondered whether she could go through with the pregnancy alone. She was after all living completely alone there in New York. She remembered her mom, who had died five years ago. If she was still alive, she could have gone back to New Brunswick and stayed there. Her mother would have taken care of her. Remembering her mother hurt and she cried even harder. After several minutes, she finally calmed down. There was no use in crying. She had to be strong. If not for her then for the unborn child growing inside her. She took a deep breath, wiped the tears from her eyes and she brought the shirt back to the folding bed. She laid down on the bed, put the shirt on top of her so that it covered her stomach and chest. She caressed her lower stomach with his shirt underneath her hand and whispered to her unborn child.
"I hope you can feel it my little bean, the presence of your dad. You'll meet him one day. I promise you that. But for now it's just the two of us, okay? Even though it's just the two of us, I promise to love you and take care of you. I'll be the best mom ever! Don't you worry okay, my little bean. I'm here for you. I'm gonna be strong for you. I love you so much, even if you're only weeks old. And your dad will love you too.. he will.. I'm sure he will." Tears streamed down her face again as she continued caressing her stomach and inhaled his scent. It took a long time but she finally fell asleep, exhausted from all the crying, with tear tracks on her cheek.
-----
Y/n opened her eyes and didn't feel so good. Her chest felt heavy, her lower stomach and back still hurt a little, and she was feeling nauseous a little. She sat up slowly and felt something slid down off her chest. It was Sebastian's shirt. She had fallen asleep still holding it on her chest. She picked it up and hugged it then said.
"Good morning Iubirea mea.. " she put it in front of her nose, inhaled its scent and kissed it, pretending she was kissing him. Her heart ached so much, remembering all those times she woke up next to him, greeted by his gorgeous dreamy blue eyes. She sighed. She had gone crazy, she thought. She folded his shirt then put it on the folding bed. She then stood up and decided to make some tea and eat breakfast. She remembered she had an appointment with the gynecologist at 10 am that morning. She glanced at the clock on the wall and saw it was 8 am already so she needed to get ready.
After making some tea, she decided to make a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast. She suddenly had a craving for peanut butter. But when she opened the wrapping of the white bread she was going to use, the smell of the white bread triggered her nausea. Here we go again. She thought in annoyance. She wondered how long the nausea would last. It was really uncomfortable. She was really looking forward to eating the peanut butter sandwich but she had lost all of her appetite. She closed the wrapper of the white bread and put it aside. She decided to just get something to eat at the hospital.
She went to her bathroom to take a shower. To her surprise, she found some reddish brown spotting on her underwear. Her heart pounded as she saw it.
"Little bean, are you okay in there?" She said to her fetus while caressing her lower stomach gently.
"Hang in there okay. I'm gonna get you checked today. Please hang in there." She said anxiously.
Thankfully she didn't find anymore blood coming out of her as she cleaned herself up. But she couldn't help but still felt anxious. Her lower stomach hurt even more now after she found the spotting on her underwear. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. She then slowly went out of the bathroom, got herself dressed then she went to the hospital.
It was 9.30 am when she arrived at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. The hospital complex was quite big. It was a public hospital but the building and facilities were like those found in private hospitals. She went inside the hospital through the front lobby and went to the front desk.
"Good morning." She said to the woman behind the front desk counter.
"Good morning, ma'am. How can I help you?" The woman smiled at her and asked.
"I have an appointment with dr. Selena Ali from Obstetrics & Gynecology." She replied.
"I see. The Obstetrics & Gynecology clinic is located on the third floor. You can reach it with the elevator, which is located just on your right there." The woman responded while gesturing her hand toward the elevator on Y/n's right.
"Okay. Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome, ma'am." The woman smiled at her and went back down to sit on her chair.
The elevator dinged as she arrived at the third floor. She got out of the elevator and looked around. Her eyes caught the Obstetrics & Gynecology sign on her right, so she went there. A nurse was sitting behind a desk and she smiled at Y/n as she approached.
"Good morning." Y/n said.
"Good morning, ma'am. How can I help you?" The nurse smiled at her.
"I'm here to see dr.Selena Ali. I have a 10 am appointment." She replied.
"I see. Please wait a moment, ma'am." The nurse said as she accessed a computer in front of her to check for Y/n's appointment.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. It seems you are a new patient?" The nurse asked.
"I am. Yes." Y/n replied.
"May I borrow your ID card? I need to register you as a new patient before you can see dr.Selena." The nurse said.
"Oh, of course." Y/n opened her purse and took her ID card out of her wallet then gave it to the nurse.
"Would you mind writing your cellphone number and email address here?" The nurse said, giving her a small piece of paper and a pen.
Y/n nodded and wrote her cellphone number and email address on the paper then slipped it back to the nurse.
"Thank you, ma'am. Please have a seat. I will call you to have your vitals checked after I'm done registering you to our system." The nurse said.
"Thank you." Y/n nodded then went to sit on a chair not far from the nurse station.
She looked around and saw some other patients around her. All of them had someone to accompany them. Whether it was their husbands or partners, or their family members. She felt a pang in her chest as she looked at them. She decided to just open her cellphone while waiting and read the latest news. She didn't want to be reminded that she was there alone. It hurt her to think about that fact.
It didn't take long for the nurse to register her to hospital's system. She was called not long after for her vitals to be taken. After the nurse took her vitals, she sat on a chair near the door to the examination room. Her heart pounded hard as she waited. This was it. Even though she had three positive pregnancy tests, it was still possible they were all wrong. She could only confirm it with an ultrasound at a gynecologist's office. Suddenly, the door to the examination room was opened. Another nurse came out of it with a clipboard on her hand. She then called out Y/n's name. She stood up and entered the examination room nervously.
dr. Selena Ali was a young doctor of Indian descent. She had long pretty black hair, wide eyes and brown skin. She smiled warmly at Y/n as she took a seat in front of her. Her smile made her anxiety lessened somewhat.
"Good morning Ms.Y/f/n Y/l/n." dr.Selena greeted her.
"Good morning, doctor." Y/n replied, smiling back at her.
"How can I help you today?" dr.Selena asked as she opened Y/n's empty medical record in front of her.
"Umm.. doctor, I think I may be pregnant. I.. I've missed my period and I took three pregnancy tests yesterday and they all came back positive." she said slowly.
"Ah, I see. Alright, may I know when your last period started?" the doctor asked as she scribbled some notes on her medical record.
"Umm.. I think around November 1st." she said.
"Okay. That means if you really are pregnant you would be around 8 weeks." she said as she consulted a calendar on the table.
Y/n's brows shot up. 2 months pregnant? She could already be 2 months pregnant? She thought in disbelief.
"Alright, let's get you checked. Please get on the examination bed and we'll see your baby." the doctor smiled at her.
Y/n stood up and got onto the bed. She laid down and the doctor asked for her permission to open the lower part of the shirt she was wearing to access her stomach. She nodded and then the doctor opened the lower part of her shirt and squeezed some clear gel onto her stomach. The doctor then took the ultrasound transducer and swiped it all across her lower stomach. She then focused on the area where her uterus would be and pressed it here and there, trying to find a clear view of it on the monitor. After awhile she stopped and said.
"There it is. We can see the sac here and your baby here." the doctor said, pointing to a black circle on the monitor and a bean-like figure inside it. Y/n's eyes widened as she saw her unborn child on the monitor.
"So..I'm really pregnant?" she asked, still not believing it.
"Yes you are." the doctor smiled. She then made some measurements on the monitor and said. "It seems you are about 8 weeks into the pregnancy. Your baby is about half an inch long."
"Oh wow. Is that the normal size for an 8 week old fetus?" she asked.
"Oh yes, perfectly normal. An 8 week old fetus is typically between 1/2 to 3/4 inch long." The doctor responded.
Y/n breathed a sigh of relief. Glad her baby was growing normally. She then remembered the spotting and the pain on her lower stomach and back.
"Doctor, I've been having some pain in my lower stomach and back. And I had some spotting this morning. Should I be concerned?" she asked.
"Well, cramping in early pregnancy is normal. Light spotting too. But it all depends on the condition of the mother. Let me check whether there are anything else we should be concerned about." the doctor replied.
She then swiped the transducer around Y/n's stomach and said. "It seems you have a uterine fibroid. It's not big, only about 2 inches in length. It will pass as you give birth. So you don't need to be concerned about it. Although it might be causing the spotting and cramps." the doctor said.
"Okay." Y/n said, relieved that it was nothing to be concerned about.
"Hmm.. as I checked your ovaries, there are cysts on both your ovaries. The left one is about 1,5 inches, and the right one is about an inch. Considering your age and that you also have uterine fibroids, I think it's better that I give you some progesterone suppositories, to strengthen your pregnancy and prevent miscarriage. And I would also advise for you to be on bed rest for at least a week." the doctor said.
Y/n's heart plummeted as she heard what the doctor said. She needed to be on bed rest? But she had no one to look after her. It wasn't possible for her to just stay in bed for a week.
"Doctor, I'm sorry, but I.. I live alone, so it's really not possible for me to get a bed rest. I have no one to take care of me." she said, her voice shook and she tried to blink back tears.
"Oh? What about the father of your baby?" the doctor asked in concern.
"We.. " Y/n sighed as she tried to find the words to explain her situation with Sebastian. "We aren't exactly on speaking terms right now." She finally said.
The doctor stared at her in concern and reached out to squeeze her hand.
"Don't worry, you can always stay here at the hospital if you want. We'll take care of you." The doctor said, smiling at her.
"I.. okay then." Y/n said.
She couldn't believe she needed to be hospitalized. She was happy her baby seemed okay but also anxious over her condition.
"Do you want to hear your baby's heartbeat?" the doctor asked cheerfully, trying to make Y/n happy.
"I can hear the baby's heartbeat?" she asked in awe.
"Yes, you can." the doctor smiled as she returned the transducer back to its place and the nurse brought a doppler ultrasound to them to hear the baby's heartbeat.
The doctor turned the doppler on and put the probe on Y/n's stomach. She then turned the volume up and there it was. She could hear the sound like galloping horses coming out of the doppler's speaker. She could hear her baby's heartbeat! She had a living, growing being inside her! She dropped a tear in awe and happiness as she listened to it.
"The heartbeat is strong. Your baby seems to be growing healthy and strong." the doctor said, smiling at her.
Y/n breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you so much, doctor." she said.
"You're welcome Ms. Y/l/n." the doctor replied as she turned the doppler off.
She then left her and went back to her table to write some more on Y/n's medical record. The nurse helped Y/n clean her stomach from the gel. Once she was clean, she closed her shirt back. The nurse then printed out the ultrasound picture of her baby and gave it to her. Y/n looked at it and felt her heart warm. Her baby was okay, that was the most important thing.
"So, would you like to go home or stay here?" the doctor asked.
Y/n contemplated her options. She didn't want to lose her baby so it seemed it was wiser to stay at the hospital where she and her baby would be taken care of. She did have insurance from her office. She hoped it would cover her stay at the hospital.
"I think it's best that I stay here, doctor." she said.
"Alright, we'll make the arrangements. Mindy, would you please get a wheelchair to bring her up to her room?" the doctor said to the nurse.
"Wheelchair?" Y/n asked in surprise.
"Yes, you're supposed to be on bed rest, so that means you should not be walking too much unless to the bathroom." the doctor said.
"Oh, okay." Y/n said dejectedly. She felt fine so it felt weird that she wasn't allowed to walk. But she trusted the doctor and decided to obey her.
About an hour later she found herself laying down on a bed in her hospital room. The nurse just left after explaining to her about the facilities in the room and showing her the button to press to call them if she needed them. She looked around the room, devoid of any friends or family members. No one in her life knew she was pregnant let alone hospitalized because of it. Her heart ached as she remembered Sebastian again. How she wished he was there to comfort her and take care of her. Tears started to stream down her face as she never felt so alone in her whole entire life.

For his entire tenure as an Avenger, Anthony Mackie had never been the first name on the call sheet.
In a galaxy of stars populated by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, the actor was aware of his place in the on-set pecking order, but would never miss an opportunity to make his presence felt.
“Number six on the call sheet has arrived!” Mackie would routinely shout on films like “Captain America: Civil War” and the box office-busting “Infinity Saga” sequels, according to Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige.
It exemplifies the sort of winning tone that the 42-year-old actor has brought to his superhero character the Falcon, aka Sam Wilson, for six movies from the top-earning studio — wry and collegial humor, with the potential to turn explosive at any moment. Both Mackie and his character are set to burn brighter than ever when the Disney Plus series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” lands on March 18.
On that call sheet, “Anthony is No. 1,” Feige is happy to report, “but it still says ‘No. 6.’ He kept it because he didn’t want it to go to his head.” The series is essentially a two-hander with his friend and longtime co-star Sebastian Stan, the titular soldier. All six episodes were produced and directed by Emmy winner Kari Skogland (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Loudest Voice”). The series, for which combined Super Bowl TV spot and trailer viewership earned a record-breaking 125 million views this year, is reported to have cost $150 million in total.
For Mackie, though, the show comes at a critical time for both his career and for representation in the MCU. Sam Wilson is graduating from handy wingman (Falcon literally gets his job done with the use of mechanical wings), having been handed the Captain America shield by Evans in the last “Avengers” film. While it’s unclear if he will formally don the superhero’s star-spangled uniform moving forward (as the character did in a 2015 comic series), global fandoms and the overall industry are still reeling from the loss of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed Marvel’s Black Panther to culture-defining effect. With this new story, Mackie will become the most visible African American hero in the franchise. And when asked whether he’ll be taking the mantle of one of its most iconic characters, he doesn’t exactly say no.
“I was really surprised and affected by the idea of possibly getting the shield and becoming Captain America. I’ve been in this business a long time, and I did it the way they said you’re supposed to do it. I didn’t go to L.A. and say, ‘Make me famous.’ I went to theater school, did Off Broadway, did indie movies and worked my way through the ranks. It took a long time for this shit to manifest itself the way it has, and I’m extremely happy about that,” Mackie says.
Feige says that, especially with the advent of Disney Plus and the freedom afforded long-form storytelling, the moment was right to give the Falcon his due.
“Suddenly, what had been a classic passing of the torch from one hero to another at the end of ‘Endgame’ became an opening up of our potential to tell an entire story about that. What does it really mean for somebody to step into those shoes, and not just somebody but a Black man in the present day?” says Feige.
Like many comic book heroes, Mackie has an origin story marked by tragedy at a young age — specifically around the loss of a parental figure. The New Orleans native is the youngest of six children from a tight-knit middle-class family, whose trajectory was spun into chaos when his mother was stricken with a terminal illness.
“It was unexpected and very untimely. I was 15 when she was diagnosed with cancer, and a few months later, she was gone. She passed the day before my ninth-grade graduation,” Mackie recalls. “If my mom wouldn’t have passed away when I was so young, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Mackie had already gravitated toward the performing arts before the loss of his mother, having enrolled at the pre-professional school New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Like many young people grappling with trauma, Mackie says he began to act out. A core group of teachers helped get him out of trouble. Ray Vrazel, still an instructor at the school, personally drove the student to a Houston-based audition for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he was accepted for his senior year of high school.
“Everything I did, I did for my mama. The idea of leaving home at 17 to go away to school would have never been an option if she was still around. She was my best friend. Losing her gave me a kind of strength, and a desire to succeed,” Mackie says.
Succeed he did. Spending that formative year as a minor on a college campus helped Mackie find his “tribe,” a misfit crew of artists and performers, which propelled him to acceptance at New York’s prestigious Juilliard School in 1997. There he was part of the breakthrough class of students of color to be chosen for the notoriously selective drama program, which Mackie says was liberating given the institution’s track record.
“Our year was a huge transition. There were hardly any Asian people in the drama program, maybe one or two Black people and hardly any Black women. In our class, we had three black women, two black men, one Native American, one Asian female, out of 20 people. Ever since then, the classes have been wildly diverse,” says Mackie, whose fellow students included stage and film star Tracie Thoms and actor Lee Pace.
Following his training, Mackie launched a staggeringly versatile career. He has played Tupac Shakur and Martin Luther King Jr. to similar acclaim, a juicehead bodybuilder in “Pain & Gain” and a homeless gay teen in the Sundance player “Brother to Brother.” He has exhibited remarkable staying power in an industry that often pigeonholes actors and has a pockmarked soul when it comes to inclusion.
“I was drawn to Anthony because of his electrifying ability to combine intensity with sensitivity, courage with compassion, and all of it comes across as inevitable, as if it could be no other way,” says Kathryn Bigelow, who directed him in the 2009 best picture Oscar winner “The Hurt Locker.”
Samuel L. Jackson, whom Mackie calls a mentor and has played alongside in several films, says he has “an innate quality that first and foremost makes everyone want to cast him.” On a recent idle Netflix search, Jackson came across Mackie’s latest sci-fi film, “Outside the Wire,” and it triggered a memory of sitting in the audience for his performance in the 2010 Broadway production of Martin McDonagh’s play “A Behanding in Spokane.”
“Watching him onstage, I thought, he’s a very adroit actor capable of putting on many hats. He’s fearless and will try to be anybody. Then, on my TV, he’s playing a nanobyte soldier or some shit,” Jackson says.
Though always humble about getting the next job, pre-Marvel Mackie was rarely offered pole position.
“There were certain pegs. My first was ‘8 Mile.’ It was a monumental step at the beginning of my career,” Mackie says of the 2002 Curtis Hanson film that elevated rapper Eminem to multi-hyphenate stardom.
“After that it was ‘Half Nelson.’ It blew up Ryan Gosling, so I was there to ride the wave. Then ‘The Hurt Locker,’ and it blew up Jeremy Renner. It was the joke for a long time — if you’re a white dude and you want to get nominated for an Oscar, play opposite me. I bring the business for white dudes,” says Mackie.
He remembers the sensation “Hurt Locker” caused during its awards season. It was a moment he thought would change everything as he stood on the stage of the Dolby Theatre with the cast and filmmakers, having just sipped from George Clooney’s flask while Halle Berry radiated a few rows away.
“I thought I would be able to move forward in my career and not have to jostle and position myself for work. To get into rooms with certain people. I thought my work would speak for itself. I didn’t feel a huge shift,” he says, “but I 100% think that ‘The Hurt Locker’ is the reason I got ‘Captain America.’”
He’s referring to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the 2014 Marvel film that was the first to be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (the current title holders for the highest-grossing film of all time with “Avenges: Endgame”). Mackie says that blockbuster not only gave him his largest platform to date but changed expectations of superhero movies forever.
“It was the first of the espionage, Jason Bourne-esque action movies at Marvel. After that, the movies shifted and had different themes and were more in touch with the world we live in, more grounded,” he says.
Bolstered by the words of another mentor, Morgan Freeman, Mackie feels no bitterness about his path.
“We did ‘Million Dollar Baby’ together, and when we were shooting this movie, I got offered a play. When you do Off Broadway, it’s $425 a week. In New York, that’s really $75 per week. I got a movie offer at the same time, and it was buckets of money. Three Home Depot buckets of money were going to be dropped off at my door,” Mackie says. “The script was awful; the whole thing was slimy. I went to Morgan’s trailer and asked him what he would do. He took a second and said, ‘Do the play. When Hollywood wants you, they’ll come get you. And when they come get you, they’ll pay for it.’ That blew my mind, and I left him that day with such a massive amount of confidence. He’s been a huge influence on me.”
He used the currency of that first Russo Brothers film and five subsequent ones to do what many creators and performers in Hollywood have done in recent years to help balance the scales of profit and representation in content: make things on his own.
Last year, Mackie produced and starred in “The Banker” — what would be Apple Studios’ first foray into original streaming film distribution and the awards landscape — through his banner Make It With Gravy. The film follows the true story of America’s first Black bankers and the white frontman they deployed to acquire the institution, all while supporting Black-owned businesses and communities in the process. A late-breaking scandal over sexual misconduct accusations involving the real-life family members of the film’s subjects delayed the release, overshooting awards-season deadlines and entangling the fledgling producer.
“It was a good lesson, and gave me a new perspective on the world around us. It’s very important to me that the women by my side are treated equally. It was a valuable lesson learned. I was very humbled by my sisters, for once not being mean to me,” he says.
Mackie is in development on the film “Signal Hill,” about the early days of lawyer Johnnie Cochran and the theater he brought to courtrooms long before the O.J. Simpson trial, and is hoping to secure the life story of civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin as a vehicle for his directorial debut. Raising four sons of his own now, Mackie wants his off-screen work to make them well-rounded men.
“Look at Robin Williams,” he says. “He used to be crass and funny, and then he had kids, and he started doing all these family-friendly movies. Same thing with Eddie Murphy. I’m trying to curate my children’s experience with the things that I’ll be producing, rather than starring in. That’s what is most important. They know my job is my job; they know who I am. I’ve given up the idea of them ever thinking that I’m cool,” he says.
Jokes about the call sheet are among many of Mackie’s filming quirks. Jackson says that sets are often littered with hidden cigar stubs, to be fired up between takes or after long days. Bigelow says his rapport with crew has led to nights where the “clock was ticking but it was impossible to regain composure enough to shoot.” But according to Evans, no Mackie-ism is more famous than the phrase he bellows whenever his directors cut a scene: “Cut the check!”
Evans says this “will be forever associated with Mackie. I find myself saying it on sets all the time. I love it. But I’ll never be able to say it as well as him.”
As the man handing Mackie his armor, Evan says the Falcon’s “role within the Marvel universe has answered the call to action time and time again. He’s proven his courage, loyalty and reliability over multiple films. Sam has given so much, and he’s also lost a lot too. He believes in something bigger than himself, and that type of humility is necessary to carry the shield.”
The question of Sam Wilson’s humanity will be explored at length in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” what Mackie calls a deeper showcase for both himself and Stan and their characters. It was a prospect that at first confused and frightened him.
“I didn’t think we could do on the television what we’d been doing on the big screen. I didn’t want to be the face of the first Marvel franchise to fail. Like, ‘See? We cast the Black dude, and now this shit is awful.’ That was a huge fear of mine, and also a huge responsibility with playing a Marvel character,” Mackie says.
He was quickly assuaged by the level of depth in the scripts from head writer Malcolm Spellman (“Empire,” “Truth Be Told”), especially when it came to the nuances of Wilson — a Black American man with no powers beyond his badass wings.
“Sam Wilson as played by Mackie is different than a Thor or a Black Panther, because he’s not from another planet or a king from another country,” Feige says. “He’s an African American man. He’s got experience in the military and doing grief counseling with soldiers who have PTSD. But where did he grow up? Who is his family? Mackie was excited to dig into it as this man, this Black man in particular, in the Marvel version of the world outside our window.”
Mackie celebrates Sam’s relatability in a universe full of mythological gods and lab-made enforcers. “I’m basically the eyes and ears of the audience, if you were put in that position where you could go out and fight alongside superheroes. It adds a really nice quality to him, that he’s a regular guy who can go out there and do special things,” Mackie says.
While bound by standard Marvel-grade secrecy, the actor confirms there have been no discussions of a second season for “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” As the majority of domestic movie theaters remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, he is equally unaware of the theatrical prospects for his Falcon character — or the Captain he may become by the end of this Disney Plus run. For now, he’s content to take up the mantle left by Boseman, a quietly understood pact of responsibility to Marvel-loving kids the world over.
“For Chad and I, [representation] was never a conversation that needed to be had because of our backgrounds. There was a hinted-at understanding between the two of us, because we’re both from humble beginnings in the South; we have very similar backgrounds. We knew what the game was. We knew going into it,” he says.
Outside comic book movies, Mackie is not done searching as a performer. There is a particular genre he would very much like to cut him a check.
“My team gets mad at me for saying this, but I would love to do a cheesy old-school ‘When Harry Met Sally’-type of project,” he says. “One of those movies where I’m working outside and have to take my shirt off because it’s too hot. I want a romantic comedy. I want to do every movie written for Matthew McConaughey that he passed on.”

BEST FRIEND!JAKE GYLLENHAAL HEADCANONS
notes: jake and you are bffs, that’s it, that’s the tweet! warnings: some mentions of sexual content, but it’s pretty clean and safe otherwise! the gifs were in a gif hunt so i don’t know who made them unfortunately! i suggest you listen to tongue tied by grouplove or dog days are over by florence + the machine! i hope you guys enjoy! <3
Your friendship happened so out of the blue. You were at the grocery store with a friend and you picked some product up, reading the informations about it. You exclaimed “this comes from Canada”, you know, as one does while realizing Canada is a real country and not just a fantasy where everyone lives in igloos and chop wood and like wish Justin Trudeau good night. Your friend shrugged, very bored, but you heard a voice behind you. “Actually, I have some cool theory about Canada. Do you know the Ryans? Gosling and Reynolds? Well...”
“Canada had sex with America and they made the two of them and they’re twins and they tried to eat each other in the womb, but they didn’t, they survived...” You both spoke in sync. You turned around, only to realize that Jake Gyllenhaal was the one radiating even more chaotic energy than you.
It was signed, sealed and delivered.
You two were painful to be around. You would go on some random conspiracy theories of your own creation (you know Strawberry Shortcakes, like the toys and the shows for kids? Well they’re just Bratz dolls except for Bratz dolls, somebody confused the sugar with the salt and they ended up without feet and with some very large heads). You would argue about everything and nothing.
It was a 0 to 100 real quick.
You could be watching a movie at the cinema with a few friends, staying silent the whole time until you got back in the car and you just exploded with thoughts about the movie. You two were screaming so loud the driver of the car had to pull by the side of the road to try and keep you quiet like two angry children.
That’s what you two were: two very annoying children.
In Jake’s and yours opinion, you never argued. You just shared thoughts with a strong passion.
You could call each other names, but you never meant the insults you were saying.
“You can go suck a fuck”, “Tell me Y/N, how exactly does one suck a fuck? I’m all years”
Laughter. You guys laughed all the time together. No, wait, you laughed and Jake just wheezed. You took him to see a doctor once, you managed to convince him he might have a condition because no one ever wheezes THAT MUCH but it turns out you just both suffered from a great sense of humour.
For the first couple of months, your friendship was so filled with arguments and chaos that your mutuals thought you two actually hated each other.
But it could not be more wrong.
Jake and you were inseparable. You’d do everything and nothing together. You’d stop at the convenience store, share the newspaper, have a karaoke night (you were two Britney Spears stans), buy gifts for your respective relatives (you suspected that your own mother preferred your friend Jake to you). You spent the Holidays together. New Years, Valentine’s Day, even Halloween. You would host Halloween parties at your house. There would be only the two of you wearing matching costumes you made with clothes and craft supplies around the house. You both looked horrible, but you ate way too many candies to realize it.
You were attached by the hip. Wherever Jake went, you were there too.
At some point, you lost your job. It happens to the best of us. So Jake suggested you’d become his assistant.
In theory, it was a beautiful idea. You knew Jake’s schedule by heart and did everything together. Being paid for it? Sign me up.
But in practice...
It created some sort of tension between the two of you. It was one more reason to depend on Jake, and for Jake to depend on you. You were two peas in a pod but you had to manage the new pressure.
During red carpets you were hiding behind the interviewer or by his sides, taping your wrist to remind him to go faster and cut the long analytical speeches nobody really cared about. Except for you, you loved how insightful he was and how he rarely showed this side of his personality.
He knew when you were tired to just sit and watch the same people win awards for similar roles they did in other movies before.
Jake would lean in and say “Actually, I think Meryl Streep is a wizard, like the nice type, and she hides magical potions in her purse that can make you fly and don’t even get me started on Julia Roberts...”. You were too far gone, laughing so loud during an emotional speech when a not very talented celebrity won over very talented celebrities that deserved it more or during a movie premiere.
You would hold hands. For funsies.
He’d give you his jacket. He’d feed you a spoon of his food at the restaurant. You’d give him a sip of your hot chocolate on a cold winter evening. You’d share your comfy slippers with him even if his feet were too big and barely fit in.
Life without Jake? You simply did not remember what it was like.
Your mutual friends stopped calling you two enemies. You were straight up a married couple.
You’d go grocery shopping together and Jake would push the caddy around while you guide him through the aisles. “Could make you this dish, I know you like it” he’d suggest. “The oreos are on sale? Must get six packs of them, double stuff only” you’d add.
You’d go on car rides. They lead nowhere: a dead end street, a bridge under construction, a small ghost town. You both just sat there and listened to music.
His hand would mysteriously fall on your thigh and just stay there the whole way back.
And you’d give each other shy looks.
And giggle. And chuckle. And drop your keys by the front door, oopsies you were all of a sudden clumsy.
And when the door was closed behind you, you stared into each other’s eyes and just shrugged before ripping each other’s clothes at the speed of light and fucking on the couch, on the kitchen table or even on the floor. The bed was too far away.
You both had seen each other naked so many times it was not intimidating. You knew he was handsome, he knew you were beautiful. That was all you guys needed to know. But there were new infos to take in consideration: in bed, you two were just powerful. So you slept together again.
Again and again and again...
It did not bother any of you. Your friends did not even find out about it. Everything was fine.
Everything was fine until you went on a date with someone else. Two times, three times... It was starting to get serious.
Jake felt so weird. He hid it from you.
He caressed your hair when you cried as your new fling just broke up with you over text messages. He fed you your favourite ice cream while you two cuddled on the couch, trying to heal the pain with a wholesome Disney movie. He helped you get in the shower when you were too sad or too tired. He supported you.
He cared for you.
He loved you.
And he told you.
That one time he helped you get in the bathtub after you insisted you could go to the gym with him and he literally crushed you not even five minutes in. You were sore and tired and you thought you hallucinated when you heard the words: I love you.
He thought he was having a fever dream when you replied: I love you too.

James corden carpool. HS IMAGINE * * * "Hello y/n, thanks for helping me through this traffic" James said to me while I hop in his car "always James " I side hug him and he did the same. I was invited to James cordon carpool and I was excited , it was one of my dreams when I choose to start modeling and now I'm achieving it , sitting beside him , in his car means a world to me. "So how you doing ? I heard you moved to California? Is that true? " He asked start his car and moves around the city while cameras are attached to his car and a camera man is following us in another car "yes actually I was telling myself why not? You know for a long time?" He nods "yeah after all Harry's living there, right?" He laughed and his laughter filled the car. He is my favorite host so far, Before I became famous and after that. He's so funny and kind the same time. "Well I'm not gonna answer the question" he laughed again "yeah being with styles and stuff? And I see you're really into fashion, even your boyfriend have styles " we laughed as he turned in another street "you know ,fashion is my patience" he nods . "How you doing with modeling?" He said "it's great, it's just like what I imagined, walking on runways and stuff " he nods "I saw your vogue cover as well , really beautiful" "ohhh thank you James" "Are you agree on some music?" He asked "of course" I said as he turned on the music and zayn's song comes in "cab radio screaming, noise and tears, death on tv and then there's you ..." We both sang a while with song "I heard you're a fan of him " he said , after zayn left one direction, some questions always comes up about them and me being styles girlfriend and zayn's friend, never eased things. "Actually yes, he's really talented and I love his work" he nods "so it's quite hard to listening to music in Harry's car ?" Then again this question, they think boys are enemies now "actually it's hard because boy, I'm the rock star's girlfriend" he laughs at my semi joke. I tried to change subject in another way but being not so funny makes stuff hard. I don't have that much sense of humor and this kind of situations are always awkward, I'm mostly quiet and people always think I'm so proud or stuff like 'you don't deserve harry' 'harry can do better' and on and on. "I heard Harry's going back on tour, are you going to join him? " I nod "yeah it's he's going back on tour and as you know fashion week is so close, I think we might see each other's while we're in same cities but other than that no, I'm not gonna join him" it's quite hard, I'm always on travel and harry being a rock star he is ! James turned the radio on again , this time a one direction old song 'perfect' we both karaoke and I add some dance moves to the song as we stopped in sideways. "I'm so thankful you joined me but as you know it's a long way, I was thinking about one of my friends who are near to join us" he said "yeah sure" he takes out his phone and dialed a number ,"hey man how you doing? .... would you join me as through this traffic to my work, yeah that's awesome" he hanged the phone and backseat door gets open. Ryan gosling sits behind me "hello man , hello y/n" he said shakes James hand. I knew he was going to join us but as it's a show I looked like I'm surprised "hi Ryan, nice to meet you" I said as he kissed my hand. I saw him at an after party months ago but I really missed him , he's a good man. "So how's la la land?" James asked "it's actually good we get good vibes and people liked it so far so I'm so happy about it" Ryan answered. Good vibes? You kidding man? You won almost whole golden globs awards. "It's really good actually, I watched it two times" I told them "oh really?"Ryan asked. After a long conversation between James and Ryan finally he comes back to me , not that I was unhappy! "We saw your walk on Marc jacobs runway, that was awesome, I'm sure somebody else was there too" Ryan laughed at James joke "yeah Harry's really interesting in clothes" I blushed. After two months dating harry I'm still not so good to talk in front of cameras about him. "OR MODELS" James laughed as we parked again. "Thank you guys I really appreciate you helped me" James said as the last words was about watching tv show and subscribe. After we hop out I shakes Ryan's hand "how's harry? I heard of him like in ages" Him and Harry are so good actually besties after harry showed interest in acting "he's good so busy with new albums and one direction getting back together" I said "tell him keep me a tickets of shows" I laughed "I will" he hugged me as we walked in studio still talking. Hope you enjoyed, I'm sorry I couldn't write James part better, he's the best and it was so hard to be like him that sure I didn't do well. But hope you enjoyed.

Ryan Gosling Opens Up Concerning His 'Hope Loved ones' And Also Being Actually The Most Ideal Moms.
Back when my youngest child was in his troublesome adolescents, my other half and I had a course on Moms and dad Efficiency Instruction. Along with our 5 little ones, when they were actually young our team recommended all of them to contact either moms and dad if a person is hurting you, if they are hurt on their own, or even if somebody is actually being destructive or destructive like cracking some one elses building.
Considering that this's a mastery body, the parent inevitably figures out that the trainees don't need to perform all the job - simply until they learn that. Every trainee needs to have an other quantity from strategy & evaluation, so they present the max they assume you'll need.
What I imply by that is that you possess a far better chance of rating a sub webpage from a PR 9 internet site on the first web page of Google compared to you carry out of positioning the web page of a Public Relations 3 website, so long as you recognize ways to create your page appearance really vital on that particular internet site. In such a case, the parent will certainly participate in important youngster well-being troubles including treatment as well as learning. Toddlers adore these playful manuals so they are actually wonderful to distract all of them off remaining in healthcare facility. If the parents reside much apart at that point the non custodial parent will certainly obtain more opportunity during school holidays, an usual award of parenting time is actually every various other weekend yet. This is actually a fantastic option to permit your organizational capabilities soar, definitely show em what twojasila.info you've got. I would like to believe that this unmentioned ranking body is unconscious, however experience has educated me typically. They offer a factor from get in touch with to trainees over the lifestyle of their loans and possess an easy to use site and also mobile app in order to help Great Lakes customers access their lending info as well as remit. The alienating moms and dad tasks a picture of himself or even herself as capable as well as of the targeted parent as incapable of caring for the little one.
Below are a couple of solitary moms and dad outdating ideas that must allow you to leave a few of the confusion from single parent dating and allow you return out on the outdating setting along with a lowest from complications. Thus it is the aspect of feelings, views, and also feeling of caring, sensation from affection and also devotion that would certainly create any type of parent in this World happy! This additionally put strongly in the moms and dad group, as the only representative from its area. In my viewpoint exactly what creates an excellent moms and dad is actually enjoying exactly what your youngsters are actually claiming and also discovering time to become with all of them. However, a reasonably low typical income leaves behind homeowners with a lot less to conserve and also prevents this area in northeastern Indiana from ranking higher. Having said that, visiting schedules might be hard to develop if one moms and dad survives of condition or even a long distance out. But Lynn Clark, writer from The Moms and dad App: Understanding Family Members in a Digital Grow older," doesn't permit her 12-year-old little girl as well as 14-year-old child make use of tablet computers or notebooks for exciting till after they have actually finished their research. The pupil possesses the course which is actually mixed in between parent showed, skype-like speaks as well as internet activities, and after that he has an examination. While you may certainly not always think about this during the time, this is a terrific option to encounter brand-new folks and build brand-new companionships.

'What a Difference a Year Makes': Our Inside Report From the 2017 Oscars Nominee Luncheon
The 2017 Oscars Class Photo (Click to Enlarge)
“Wow, what a difference a year makes.” Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences exuded clear satisfaction as she addressed attendees at the 89th Academy Awards luncheon Monday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton. Isaacs opened her remarks by recognizing this year’s far more inclusive ballot after the Academy was sharply criticized — or more aptly, publicly shamed — two years in a row for the infamous #OscarsSoWhite controversies. “Simply put, real progress has been made,” Isaacs said, crediting the Academy’s active role in expanding membership by recruiting 683 new voters.
You didn’t have to look any further than Table 18 — our position at the Hilton’s International Ballroom — to see the difference. Seated to our left was Raoul Peck, the director of the acclaimed James Baldwin doc I Am Not Your Negro, and one of four black filmmakers in the running for a Best Documentary Oscar. To our right was Moonlight editor Joi McMillon, who made history last month by becoming the first African-American woman nominated for Best Editing.
Both first-time nominees cheerfully recalled where they were the morning they found out they were Oscar nominees. For Peck, it was actually afternoon. He was in Germany wrapping up work on his next doc, Young Karl Max (a film that, like I Am Not Your Negro, he worked on for the past 10 years). “Somebody saw it on Twitter, but you can’t trust what you see on Twitter, so I didn’t believe it right away,” the director admitted. McMillon was in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, where her second feature, the Brett Gelman-Michael Cera drama Lemon, was premiering. “I was going to go to a screening that morning but one of my producers was like, ‘You just got an Oscar nomination, we’re going out for drinks!'” McMillion laughed.
Related: Photos — See All the Contenders Come Together for the 2017 Oscar Nominees Lunch
The stat that’s gotten the most notice: Seven of the 20 acting nominees are people of color. “I’m just thrilled, so absolutely thrilled,” Octavia Spencer, who won an Oscar five years ago for The Help, told us about her nod for Hidden Figures, though she was clearly over the moon for the success of the film as a whole. The inspirational drama about black women who played a pivotal role the space race has become a major box-office hit, grossing over $115 million and showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
‘Moonlight’ stars Naomie Harris and Mahershala Ali at the Oscars Nominees Luncheon (Kevin Winter/Getty Images)
Naomie Harris, a Best Supporting Actress contender for Moonlight, told us the luncheon marked the first time she felt “relaxed” about her newfound status as an Academy Award nominee. Prior to being seated for the Chilean sea bass and couscous meal, she said she was eager to hear the “pep talk” the Oscar class receives every year at the event.
Isaacs certainly delivered some motivation, drawing big cheers when, without naming names, she cited the ballroom’s “empty chairs” and bemoaned the effect the Trump administration’s controversial travel ban would have on nominees like Asghar Farhadi, the Iranian director of Best Foreign Film nominee The Salesman, who has said he will boycott the ceremony in response. “Strong communities celebrate the arts, not censor them,” the Academy president proclaimed to applause.
For more “practical” advice for the nominees, Oscar producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd unveiled a hilarious pre-recorded segment featuring Saturday Night Live and Ghostbusters comedian Kate McKinnon as fictional 1930s star of the silver screen “Gloria Cancave,” who offered up tips for the winners’ 45-second acceptance speeches. The tips were basic (i.e., “Be Prepared,” “Be Speedy” [to the stage], and “Be Paperless”) but all were all driven home with faux footage of Canclave’s disastrous speeches. (Ever wonder why more winners don’t curse? At the Oscars Nominee Luncheon they’re warned they’ll be fined.)
‘Manchester by the Sea’ nominee Lucas Hedges (Kevin Winter/Getty Images)
Before and even during the lunch, the star-studded event resembled a Mutual Admiration Society. Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea), sporting a buzzcut for his new off-Broadway play Yen, was psyched to greet his Best Supporting Actor rival Dev Patel (Lion). McMillon and her guest fretted over who they should approach next, Patel or Pharell Williams (a producer on Best Picture nominee Hidden Figures), easily the winner for Most Underdressed, sporting a bright green baseball cap, NASA sweatshirt, and jeans. Screenwriter Jared Bush, who told us he hoped for a tie between his films Moana and Zootopia in the Best Animated Feature category, stopped Natalie Portman on her way to her table. And La La Land director Damien Chazelle, who admitted to us it felt like he was practically living at the Hilton (he just won a Director’s Guild Award at the hotel, which also hosted the Golden Globes and Producer’s Guild Awards), fawned over a lesser-known industry titan: the Coen brothers go-to production designer Jess Gonchor, a nominee for Hail, Caesar!
And then of course there’s the visual that the Oscar Nominees Luncheon has become most well known for producing: the annual “Oscars Class Photo.” What you don’t see in the widely circulated photograph (top of page) that two years running personified #OscarsSoWhite is the lengthy assemblage ritual that leads up to it, as each nominee is called to the stage by name, this year by a very game Laura Dern.
Nominees assemble for the Oscar Class Photo (Kevin Polowy/Yahoo)
It must have taken about a half-hour for the 150-plus nominees to assemble, and without pecking order. Ryan Gosling (Best Actor, La La Land) was followed by Dan Krauss, director of the Best Documentary Short Subject nominee Extremis; Justin Timberlake (Best Original Song, Trolls) was followed by one of the sound editors on Sully. By the end of it you had to feel a little bad for the likes of Kenneth Lonergan (Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, Manchester by the Sea) and John Musker (Best Animated Feature, Moana), called early to the top row of the risers. (Spencer, Manchester producer Matt Damon, and La La Land Best Actress nom Emma Stone, meanwhile, all kept a pregnant Portman company while she was seated on the bottom row.)
It is inspiring to see the Academy honor every one of the nominees, no matter where they sit above or the below the line on their films. Not every round of applause is created equally, though, and it was Barry Jenkins (Best Director, Moonlight), Viggo Mortensen (Best Actor, Captain Fantastic), Denzel Washington (Best Actor, Fences), Viola Davis (Best Supporting Actress, Fences), and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Best Original Song, Moana) who drew the loudest cheers. As far as Oscar handicapping goes for Feb. 26, read into that as you may.

The Oscars that La La Land Won Were for Sucking Hollywood’s Cock
Yeah this title is a little too straight forward and is honestly not subtle enough for my taste, note to self sarcasm is hard to do in words, but it has some legitimacy. One it makes me kind of think of Emma Stone giving head and that is as erotic as fuck, and fuck is pretty fucking erotic. Two the title in a weird way gives away my opinion without giving away my opinion. And While La La Land didn’t win best picture the Oscars it one can be as the title says they gave Hollywood exactly what they wanted, but Moonlight seemed to have done it better, maybe need to see that movie, want to see that movie. This isn’t to say it is a bad movie it is a great movie.
First off I enjoyed La La Land, Emma Stone was great in it and Ryan Gosling was greatly understandable and easy as hell to envy. The love story La La Land presents is entertaining and you quickly find yourself rooting for the characters involved in the romance. The songs are entertaining and I was moved by Dreamers. And the ending, holy shit, that ending was amazing that was great ending that just made me sit in awe for a good long while. I have to be vague here because I went into this movie blind and completely enjoyed going in blind so I think it is best that one sees this movie knowing very little while going in.
That being the case I can’t recommend this too nearly as many people as I could recommend Rouge One to because it is simply is to… well pretentious is a strong word, but we could use the term artistic instead. Like what bugged me was the fact that I was sitting in the theater blown away by the ending while everyone else there was like, what the hell just happened, or can we leave now? I was think wow this really builds the atmosphere and tension when others were thinking wow, this is really slow. And admittedly the audience was right, it was a bit slow and the ending was weird to say the least, but I kind of like that. It scares me that this will win an academy award representing itself as the best movie of the year when it can’t even hope to appeal to the same amount of people as Rouge One, and while some snobs out there may say that is the point to separate the people with taste from the people with no taste. I as one of those snobs, or at least somebody who kind of wants to be one of those snobs, say that sound like bull shit. There seems to be this disconnect seen in this movie between Broadway and the real world. In one sense this movie could be argued to have a bit of romantic realism ending with a more practical ending instead of the general happy romantic ending, but on the other hand this movie goes on about the value of following your dreams and how if you try hard enough your dreams will be rewarded. It’s like reality exists, but reality exists to your whims and if you try hard enough you can bend it to your will. And that seems so Hollywood so out of touch with reality, thousand, maybe even hundreds of thousands, go to Hollywood to follow their dreams and there is no way all of them can come true. It seems to me this movie kind of goes just far enough to prove that Hollywood is completely separated from reality and now we just need to determine how far up its own ass Hollywood has gotten. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to peruse Tumblr for some very specific Gwen Stacy pictures.

'The Pocket book' Shocker - Ryan Gosling REFUSED To Movie With Rachel McAdams!
http://tinyurl.com/y6rl3hkr Are you able to imagine it’s the 15th anniversary of The Pocket book?? The basic romance adaptation that made us all fall in love with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams got here out approach again on June 25, 2004. So what higher time than to relay our favourite not-so-fun truth concerning the filming? Related: Netflix CHANGED The Notebook Ending! Everyone knows Ryan and Rachel dated in actual life after assembly on the film — that chemistry was actual, y’all! — however do you know they sort of HATED each other, too?? Apparently they’d kind of a love/hate factor going? Director Nick Cassavetes spilled the tea from behind the scenes of The Pocket book about how in the future Ryan flat-out refused to shoot together with his future girlfriend. He informed VH1: “Possibly I’m not supposed to inform this story, however they have been actually not getting alongside in the future on set. Actually not. And Ryan got here to me, and there’s 150 folks standing on this massive scene, and he says, ‘Nick come right here.’ And he’s doing a scene with Rachel and he says, ‘Would you are taking her out of right here and herald one other actor to learn off digicam with me?’ I mentioned, ‘What?’ He says, ‘I can’t. I can’t do it along with her. I’m simply not getting something from this.’” “I’m simply not getting something from this”?? Wow. To assume, they dated after he mentioned that. Who can neglect their kiss on the 2005 MTV Film Awards?? / (c) Nikki Nelson/WENN Or perhaps they have been courting on the time, and it was actually some sort of lover’s spat they have been maintaining on the DL from their director? Neither has ever commented on the story, so we guess it’ll simply have to stay a secret. BTW, Ryan and Rachel weren’t the one stars to refuse to shoot collectively. Ch-ch-check out another notorious feuds from the historical past of TV and films (under)! Jerome Flynn & Lena Headey (c) HBO/YouTube In accordance with a tea-spilling Sport Of Thrones crew member, Queen Cersei and Ser Bronn of the Blackwater are by no means in scenes collectively as a result of the celebs gained’t even be in the identical room! Imagine it or not, the 2 characters have by no means exchanged a phrase on the present, and have solely ever been in the identical shot as soon as in a scene — with out even each other. That is as shut as they ever obtained, and she or he doesn’t spare a look his approach. / (c) HBO/YouTube Followers will bear in mind within the Season 7 finale Bronn leaves to “have a drink whereas the flowery of us discuss.” And in Season 8, Episode 1 Cersei hires Bronn — however she sends her proper hand man Qyburn to talk to him. Rumor has it the actors, who briefly date IRL in 2002, had such a contentious breakup they now should be saved aside in any respect prices. We don’t know what they did to at least one one other, but when they’re prepared to make a whole TV manufacturing plan round them it should have been BAD. The Rock and Vin Diesel (c) Common/YouTube From their first assembly in Quick 5, Dominic Toretto and Luke Hobbs have been on reverse sides of the regulation — however it turned out that animosity prolonged past the display. Through the filming of the eighth film within the Quick and Livid franchise, The Rock posted on social media about coping with a “sweet ass” on set. It shortly grew to become clear which costar he was speaking about. Vin Diesel could have copped to the feud — however by no means to the preliminary motive. The closest we obtained was Johnson happening the report to Rolling Stone: “Vin and I had just a few discussions, together with an necessary face-to-face in my trailer. And what I got here to understand is that we now have a basic distinction in philosophies on how we method moviemaking and collaborating. It took me a while, however I’m grateful for that readability. Whether or not we work collectively once more or not.” The results of all of this appears to have been the delay of FF 9, with The Rock’s spinoff with Jason Statham, Hobbs And Present, being pushed into manufacturing subsequent — much to the chagrin of Tyrese Gibson, who began his personal beef over the necessity to receives a commission on one other of those movies. We doubt if The Rock will even return to the franchise correct, particularly now that Vin has introduced his wrestling rival John Cena is becoming a member of the subsequent installment. He completed his assertion to RS: “Proper now I’m concentrating on making the spinoff nearly as good as it may be. However I want him all one of the best, and I harbor no ailing will there, simply due to the readability we now have… Truly, you may erase that final half about ‘no ailing will.’ We’ll simply maintain it with the readability.” The shade! Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts (c) Buena Vista/YouTube I Love Bother is essentially forgotten, however the feud at its middle will dwell in Hollywood infamy. The 1994 movie, about two reporters dealing with down hazard to uncover a serious crime, was meant to evoke the screwball romantic comedies of the 1940s, with Roberts and Nolte enjoying hated rivals who find yourself teaming up after which falling in love. Nevertheless the enmity between the 2 stars was all too actual. In accordance with Julia, her costar was abrasive and threw tantrums on set — and she or he did all the pieces she may to remain away. Ultimately regardless of their onscreen romance, the 2 needed to be filmed individually with stand-ins! Years afterward Roberts was quoted as calling Nolte “fully disgusting” in a NY Instances interview. Nolte responded by saying: “It’s not good to name somebody ‘disgusting.’ However she’s not a pleasant particular person. Everybody is aware of that.” DAMN. Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes (c) Warner Bros/YouTube For these of you who don’t even bear in mind Blade: Trinity, allow us to take you again to a time earlier than Marvel Studios had nailed the comedian e-book film method. In 1998, Wesley Snipes slayed as Marvel Comics’ resident vampire hunter within the action-packed Blade. By 2004, he had gotten a bit… tough, from what we’ve heard. He reportedly stayed in character and would solely talk to the director by way of notes signed “Blade.” Enter Ryan Reynolds. Lengthy earlier than he was enjoying Deadpool, he was all the time principally Deadpool. He was an motion hero within the making who couldn’t assist himself from improvising and cracking smart on set, ad-libbing in his personal jokes. Reynolds could receives a commission the large bucks to do exactly that lately, however it was one thing Snipes supposedly couldn’t take. Phrase is, he would solely come to set for his closeups for scenes with Ryan, leaving him to movie all the pieces else by himself or with a stand-in. Channing Tatum and Emma Watson (c) FayesVision/WENN Each stars made appearances in Seth Rogen‘s star-studded apocalypse comedy This Is The Finish — however their cameos initially overlapped! In the direction of the tip of the movie, Channing Tatum seems in a gimp masks because the intercourse toy of Danny McBride. Apparently Emma Watson was purported to be in that scene, too. However she regarded round at what was occurring, and it was simply an excessive amount of. In fact, a lot of the wild debauchery was within the script — however in keeping with an additional, Channing breakdancing in his leather-based intercourse masks made her stroll off set and name her agent. Costar James Franco just about confirmed the story later, although he graciously by no means talked about Emma by identify, telling the story to Interview journal: “This actress — I gained’t say who, however she had a smaller position within the movie — walked off the film in the course of a scene. What was happening round her was, I assume, too excessive for her…And she or he mentioned, ‘Yeah, I’ve obtained to depart.’” We perceive saying no to that sort of a scene once you’ve obtained a squeaky clear Hermione picture you wish to defend — however why conform to a script with an enormous satan penis and an impaled Michael Cera (separate scenes, LOLz!) within the first place?? Helen Hunt And Invoice Paxton (c) Common Footage/YouTube This one you’d by no means be capable of inform by the film — as a result of it technically wasn’t within the film. Tornado was one of many first trendy catastrophe films and nonetheless one of many largest hits. And on the middle of the 1996 flick was a His Woman Friday-style love story about two divorced meteorologists performed splendidly by Helen Hunt and Invoice Paxton. However issues on set didn’t have fairly so pleased an ending. Rumors flew on the time the celebs didn’t get alongside behind the scenes — which couldn’t have been helped by the actual fact Hunt hated taking pictures the film altogether. Years later she described the “nightmare” to Huffington Put up, saying: “They didn’t paint within the hail with the pc. They made a hail machine and dropped large balls of ice on us. I imply, it was loopy… That they had firehoses pointed at us, and also you couldn’t hear something, which isn’t the most secure approach to make a film, so I used to be actually pleased to make it by means of in a single piece.” We’re unsure how Invoice Paxton made it worse, however the two apparently did NOT get alongside. However Helen Hunt has been an actress since she was a baby, and she or he was an expert and did her job… till they determined to make a trip. The Tornado… Trip It Out trip was a mainstay at Common Studios in Orlando for 17 years. When you rode, you most likely bear in mind the filmed bits earlier than the trip started, wherein Helen and Invoice warned you concerning the energy of wind — solely they didn’t do it collectively. Yep, the celebs acknowledge each other on completely different TV screens, and this wasn’t finished to utilize the area. (c) Common Studios/YouTube No, the celebs reportedly wouldn’t even movie the temporary scripted interplay collectively and needed to be shot individually.
